- 0:18Speaker 1: Welcome into our Front Porch Friday edition of our This
- 0:21Speaker 1: is the Life podcast and our Morning Moments with Jesus.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So glad you could join.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Us this morning.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Grab yourself a good cup of coffee and get into
- 0:28Speaker 1: your favorite place. Everybody may not have a front porch
- 0:32Speaker 1: view this morning, but wherever you are, if you can
- 0:35Speaker 1: just kind of settle in this morning and spend time.
- 0:37Speaker 1: take a little time to spend some time with Jesus
- 0:39Speaker 1: this morning to see what He has for us. You know,
- 0:42Speaker 1: we've been talking all week about influences that really come
- 0:46Speaker 1: in and out of our lives, whether they be interruptions
- 0:49Speaker 1: or people that God has placed into our lives for
- 0:51Speaker 1: a certain season. So, as I got before the Lord
- 0:54Speaker 1: this morning, I kind of want to wrap this week
- 0:56Speaker 1: up with a question for our Front Porch Friday family
- 1:00Speaker 1: that has gathered this morning. Who has made a difference
- 1:05Speaker 1: in your life? If you could think of one person
- 1:08Speaker 1: or maybe a couple of people who have made a
- 1:11Speaker 1: huge impact in your life. The Apostle Paul writes to
- 1:17Speaker 1: the Philippians in chapter 1 and verse number 3, a
- 1:20Speaker 1: verse that I believe could really speak to us this morning.
- 1:24Speaker 3: He says, I.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Thank my God upon every remembrance of you. So I
- 1:31Speaker 1: want to begin today by sharing something that one of
- 1:34Speaker 1: our listeners had sent me. It simply says this, Eddie,
- 1:38Speaker 1: there was a man in my church years ago who
- 1:41Speaker 1: always seemed to know when I needed encouragement. He was
- 1:45Speaker 1: not a preacher. He never stood before a crowd. He
- 1:50Speaker 1: simply had the ability to notice people. When I was
- 1:54Speaker 1: going through one of the hardest seasons of my life,
- 1:58Speaker 1: he would often call and check on me, send me
- 2:01Speaker 1: a card or tell me that he had been praying
- 2:04Speaker 1: for me. He passed away a few years ago, but
- 2:08Speaker 1: I still remember his kindness. I wish I had told
- 2:12Speaker 1: him more often how much he meant to me. He
- 2:17Speaker 1: may have thought that what he was doing was something
- 2:20Speaker 1: very small, but God used him to help carry me
- 2:25Speaker 1: through a very difficult time in my life. Your song
- 2:29Speaker 1: that I play often while there's still time always reminds
- 2:33Speaker 1: me of how fleeting our time on earth is, so
- 2:36Speaker 1: I just wanted to share that with you Thank you,
- 2:40Speaker 1: Brent from Nebraska. I believe most of us can think
- 2:44Speaker 1: of someone like that, can't we? Maybe it was a
- 2:47Speaker 1: parent or a grandparent. Maybe it was a teacher. Maybe
- 2:50Speaker 1: a pastor or just a close friend. Maybe it was
- 2:54Speaker 1: just someone who simply, as we talked about this week,
- 2:57Speaker 1: someone who just crossed your path at the right time
- 3:00Speaker 1: and in the right season. They may not have done
- 3:03Speaker 1: anything that the world would consider extraordinary, But somehow their kindness,
- 3:08Speaker 1: their prayers, maybe their wisdom and encouragement, it's helped shape
- 3:12Speaker 1: your life. Paul said, I thank God upon every remembrance
- 3:18Speaker 1: of you. Some people leave us with memories. Memories that
- 3:23Speaker 1: remain a part of us for all of our lives.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Their words, they continue to guide us. Their prayers seem
- 3:29Speaker 1: to still be bearing fruit in our lives. And their example,
- 3:35Speaker 1: it remains with us. So Even if they're no longer here,
- 3:40Speaker 1: the effects that they had on our life are. And see,
- 3:45Speaker 1: these thoughts are closely connected to what prompted me to
- 3:48Speaker 1: write a song that is very dear to me. This
- 3:52Speaker 1: one is very dear to me because it is one
- 3:55Speaker 1: that began to develop a couple of years ago. And
- 3:58Speaker 1: it's called Somewhere Out There. And the lyrics came to
- 4:02Speaker 1: me as I pondered these thoughts that somewhere out there,
- 4:06Speaker 1: is the last breath I'll ever take, the last hand
- 4:10Speaker 1: that I will ever shake, and the last promise I
- 4:13Speaker 1: will ever make. Beyond where I can see is the
- 4:17Speaker 1: last I love you I will ever say, and the
- 4:21Speaker 1: last tear I'll ever wipe away. See, we do not
- 4:25Speaker 1: know when that final moment will come, and we should
- 4:30Speaker 1: not assume there will always be an opportunity to say
- 4:33Speaker 1: thank you, to offer forgiveness, to speak encouragement, or to
- 4:38Speaker 1: simply say, I love you. Just like there are those
- 4:43Speaker 1: that have blessed our lives, never underestimate the blessing you
- 4:48Speaker 1: have been to other people's lives. So for this Front
- 4:52Speaker 1: Porch Friday moment, I want to ask you two simple
- 4:56Speaker 1: questions as we go into this weekend. Number one, who
- 5:01Speaker 1: has made a difference in your life? And number two,
- 5:06Speaker 1: Are you making a difference in other people's lives? Perhaps
- 5:10Speaker 1: they are still living and today would be a good
- 5:12Speaker 1: day to let them know just how much their life
- 5:16Speaker 1: has meant to your life. If they have already gone
- 5:19Speaker 1: on to be with Lord, this could be a way
- 5:21Speaker 1: of honoring the difference they have made in your life.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Leave your comment as a testimony to their memory. Because
- 5:29Speaker 1: somewhere out there is the last opportunity we will ever have.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Let's not allow that opportunity to pass unnoticed. Today you
- 5:40Speaker 1: be safe. You be strong. And you be blessed. And
- 5:45Speaker 1: somewhere out there is the last breath we will ever take.
- 5:49Speaker 1: So make sure we take the opportunity today to say
- 5:55Speaker 1: thank you and to be a blessing. Have a great weekend.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Look forward to seeing you back here again on Monday.
- 6:04Speaker 1: And until then, I sure hope you have a great day.
- 6:08Speaker 4: There's a morning waiting somewhere I will never wait to.
- 6:15Speaker 5: See The road that keeps on winding but no longer
- 6:34Speaker 5: carries me. There's a clock already counting, though the hour
- 6:41Speaker 5: is unrevealed. So I don't want to waste today on
- 6:47Speaker 5: wounds that could be healed.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Somewhere out there is the last breath.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I'll ever take.
- 6:57Speaker 2: The last hand I'll ever shake.
- 7:01Speaker 4: The last promise I'll ever make. Somewhere out there is
- 7:07Speaker 4: the last I love you I'll ever say. The last
- 7:12Speaker 4: tear I'll wipe away before heaven calls my name.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I don't know where and I don't know when.
- 7:27Speaker 6: There there's a doorway i'll walk through someday that i've
- 7:38Speaker 6: never crossed.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Before when all the things i gathered here won't matter
- 7:46Speaker 2: anymore Only.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Kindness will go with me.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Only love will leave a.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Trace in the lives of those who knew me and
- 7:58Speaker 2: the memories they embrace.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Somewhere out there is the last breath I'll ever take.
- 8:08Speaker 2: The last hand I'll ever shake and the last promise.
- 8:13Speaker 4: I'll ever make.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Somewhere out there is the last I'll ever say. The
- 8:22Speaker 2: last tear.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'll wipe away before heaven calls my name.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I don't know where and I don't know when, but it's.
- 8:46Speaker 4: I gave them.
- 8:49Speaker 7: All the love I had So they could pass it
- 8:54Speaker 7: on Somewhere out there Is the last breath I'll ever take.
- 9:16Speaker 4: The last hand I'll ever shake And.
- 9:19Speaker 2: The last promise I'll ever.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Make Somewhere out there is the last I'll ever say
- 9:30Speaker 4: The last tear I'll wipe away.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Before heaven calls my name I don't know where and
- 9:40Speaker 3: I don't know when But.
- 9:42Speaker 5: It's somewhere
- 9:49Speaker 2: Somewhere out there is the last I love you I'll
- 9:52Speaker 2: ever say The last tear I'll wipe away song
