- 0:28Welcome to our first episode of Bantor with the Boys.
- 0:31Today we are going to be talking about the Super Bowl, but first let's get everybody
- 0:35in here.
- 0:36Mr. Kyle, how are you doing today sir?
- 0:39Oh I'm flying high man.
- 0:40I can't wait to get this thing going.
- 0:42It's been a long journey to get this rolling, but I'm very excited.
- 0:48What a great way to kick it off Super Bowl.
- 0:50So couldn't be more thrilled.
- 0:53Mikey?
- 0:54Also glad to be on, quite the honor, some fame to come out of this without a doubt.
- 1:00But yeah it's been a great day.
- 1:02Made a little road trip out to good old Diamond Joe's.
- 1:04Took me about an hour and thirty there and probably about an hour and forty back.
- 1:08But yeah we'll talk about that later.
- 1:11More to come.
- 1:12But how about you Derek?
- 1:13How are you feeling overall today?
- 1:15I'm doing great here.
- 1:16I'm happy to be a part of the inaugural podcast here.
- 1:19Thank you so much guys for having me be a part of it.
- 1:21Very honored.
- 1:22How about you Mr. Nick?
- 1:24Oh you know just over here enjoying the beautiful faces around me and you know ready to talk
- 1:31some sports.
- 1:33But what I really, really want to know is how you doing Tyler?
- 1:37I'm doing good brother.
- 1:38I could not be more happy to be here.
- 1:40It's setting the stage for this podcast we're going to get going here.
- 1:44Now I do want to do a special shout out to the man behind the scenes Mr. Kevin.
- 1:48We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't without this gentleman and he is doing all of the
- 1:52behind the scenes work so I just want to give you a round of applause here Kev.
- 1:57Amen Kev.
- 2:01Alright fellas let's get into the meat and potatoes here.
- 2:03We have the grand daddy of them all Super Bowl 57 taking place this Sunday February
- 2:0912th at 5.30 Central Time in the state of Arizona at the State Farm Stadium.
- 2:15We have the Chiefs taking on the Eagles.
- 2:19We have the Chiefs making their fifth Super Bowl appearance with two prior wins and the
- 2:24Eagles coming into their fourth Super Bowl appearance with one win.
- 2:27Both the teams coming in with a record of 16-3 and were the number one seed on the season
- 2:32and surprisingly enough they've actually both scored the exact same amount of points this
- 2:36year.
- 2:37So that's just a little tidbit going into this one pretty cool you don't see that very
- 2:39often but let's start talking about the game.
- 2:42First we're going to get into the quarterback play.
- 2:43We have two very high profile quarterbacks going at it this Sunday.
- 2:46So we're going to start with the Chiefs and Patty Mahomes.
- 2:49Why don't you kick us off Kyle.
- 2:51I got Patty Mahomes at 278 yards with two touchdowns and 24 yards rushing but I wouldn't
- 2:59be shocked if he got 300 plus.
- 3:03I think he'll be throwing quite a bit.
- 3:06I kind of just went bold here on just a you know two he still a decent production day
- 3:13278 yards two touchdowns.
- 3:16I just think the Eagles D is going to be very very tough on him and he'll have to make some
- 3:22dynamic throws use his arm talent which he obviously can do.
- 3:27He is a generational talent but I still have him at a solid outing.
- 3:32Derek what do you think?
- 3:35Yeah I'm kind of on the same boat with you Kyle.
- 3:37You know I think I'm a little bit conservative when we're talking about Patrick Mahomes.
- 3:41You know we know he can light up the scoreboard.
- 3:43He can throw for 400 plus yards.
- 3:45But in the Super Bowl I've got him at 262 yards for this one with three touchdowns and
- 3:50two picks.
- 3:52So the Eagles defense is pretty tough to pass on.
- 3:55They are the number one defense in the league when it comes to passing.
- 4:00You know they've blown out the league when it comes to recording sacks so the pass rush
- 4:03is going to be tough to overcome.
- 4:06You know they know how to get their picks.
- 4:07They got a great secondary.
- 4:10But we all know how the Chiefs can get when they get into that red zone.
- 4:13You know whenever Travis Kelsey is open that's when that team becomes a problem.
- 4:17So definitely look for Mahomes to get a couple of touchdowns and look for him to have a pretty
- 4:21good rapport with Travis Kelsey especially with their receiving corps being so banged
- 4:25up lately.
- 4:26What do you think Nick?
- 4:29Well I'm kind of on the same page as you guys but I'm a little bit more on the...
- 4:36I think he's going to have a pretty bad game overall.
- 4:39225 yards in passing yards is my prediction.
- 4:45Two touchdowns, two interceptions and eight rushing yards.
- 4:51So you know I don't really have too much faith in Patrick Mahomes being able to face that
- 4:56defense.
- 4:58I mean he is God.
- 5:00He is able to take a shot in any different way and angle but I just don't see him being
- 5:08able to outdo that Eagles secondary overall.
- 5:12So I think the difference maker is the two interceptions by Patrick Mahomes.
- 5:18But you know I'm kind of more wondering if anybody else has a little bit of a different
- 5:25mindset on this regard.
- 5:28Mr. Tyler?
- 5:29Yeah Nick I couldn't disagree more.
- 5:31I don't know when Pat Mahomes has never stepped up to the occasion especially when you have
- 5:36the grand of the granddaddy of them all.
- 5:39You know this is the biggest stage he's been on.
- 5:40Obviously he's been to two prior Super Bowls winning one of them.
- 5:44But I think Mahomes is going to well be Mahomes.
- 5:47I have him going for 310 yards passing with three touchdowns.
- 5:50I do have him throwing him interception.
- 5:52He does like to try to fit the ball in tight spaces which can lead him to some trouble.
- 5:56Now granted he does have the arm talent to complete those passes and make those throws
- 6:00that not a lot of people can.
- 6:02But I also think with the lack of his mobility with that ankle.
- 6:06Still kind of bothering him.
- 6:07He's not going to be able to extend the play quite as much there.
- 6:10So he's going to have to throw the ball into those tight spaces even yarder.
- 6:13And then touching on that ankle injury as well.
- 6:16I only have him at 15 yards rushing.
- 6:18I don't think he's going to offer much there unless he does get those one or two scrambles
- 6:21that he gets outside the pocket and just gets down pretty quick.
- 6:26With the emergence of MVS in the last couple of weeks.
- 6:29They've given him that deep threat that they have kind of missed the whole year ever since
- 6:32Tyreek left.
- 6:33He's kind of taken that role.
- 6:34Obviously to a lot smaller degree he's nowhere near Tyreek's level.
- 6:38But with the focus on Travis Kelsey being that focal point of the offense.
- 6:43I think MVS is going to eat on the outside.
- 6:45So I still think Mahomes is going for over 300.
- 6:48Now let's kick it over to the other team that we have here with the Eagles and Jalen Hurts.
- 6:53The young emerging quarterback.
- 6:55Where do you have him going for Derek?
- 6:57I've got him going a little bit more aggressive than Patrick Mahomes on this one.
- 7:02I think this Super Bowl is going to feature the Jalen Hurts show.
- 7:05It's been his offense all year long and I don't see why it would change in the Super
- 7:09Bowl here.
- 7:10I've got him going for almost 300 yards passing.
- 7:12Accumulating about four total touchdowns.
- 7:14I think he can certainly get some passing touchdowns to AJ Brown, Avante Smith.
- 7:20Elite pair of receivers right there.
- 7:22And of course when they get into the red zone he's always going to be a threat to run despite
- 7:27his shoulder injury.
- 7:29So because of that shoulder injury and because the Chiefs are pretty respectable in the running
- 7:34game, I do think Hurts does get a little bit limited on the rushing yards.
- 7:38So I've got him at about 50 yards rushing.
- 7:40If you look at his past couple games since his shoulder injury, he has been limited in
- 7:44terms of yard as compared to earlier in the season.
- 7:47But he certainly is still a threat and he can scramble pretty well.
- 7:51The Chiefs do struggle against the pass so that's why I do believe that Hurts will throw
- 7:55for almost 300 yards.
- 7:57I certainly think he can.
- 7:58You know, he's got that capability.
- 7:59He's shown that his shoulder hasn't bothered him so he's certainly capable of making those
- 8:04deep throws.
- 8:05What do you think Nick?
- 8:07I'm a pretty firm believer in the Hurts show.
- 8:12After what he did in college, battling back from the multiple injuries, I think this is
- 8:19his year.
- 8:20I don't think he's going to be going off as much as a lot of people are thinking.
- 8:26I think he's only going to get about 230 yards passing himself.
- 8:32But I do see him getting a total of three touchdowns, two passing, one running for sure,
- 8:40about 65 yards rushing.
- 8:43But I think the difference maker that really shows the Hurts show is the zero interceptions
- 8:51I predict.
- 8:52I think that's going to be the difference between the two games.
- 8:55I think this is going to be a battle of defense.
- 8:58We do have two of some of the most generational talents in Hurts and Mahomes.
- 9:03But man, it's going to be tough on that side.
- 9:07So that's my predictions.
- 9:11With that, what do we got on that side, Mr. Tyler?
- 9:14Well I don't know if I would go as far as to say that Hurts is a generational talent
- 9:17yet.
- 9:18I think it's still too early in his career to kind of establish that.
- 9:21No, Mahomes definitely is.
- 9:22Hurts has the potential to be that.
- 9:24Don't get me wrong.
- 9:26But I don't think he's going to have as good of a game as you guys are expecting in the
- 9:29passing game, with I only have him throwing for 215 yards and getting two touchdowns,
- 9:34but also throwing one interception.
- 9:36Where I think he's going to make a lot of his plays are on the outside, with 75 yards
- 9:40rushing and another touchdown.
- 9:42The big thing with that is it's going to depend on how Frank Clark and Carlos Dunlap protect
- 9:46the edge for that Chiefs defense and see if they can get him in the containment.
- 9:51As you mentioned, Derek, he hasn't really had much of a focal point in the running game
- 9:54since that shoulder injury.
- 9:55They haven't necessarily been designing as much runs for him, but he still has that one
- 9:59play ability to get outside and pull off a 40-50 yarder at any point in time.
- 10:03I think that's going to be a deciding factor for the Eagles offense is how much he has
- 10:06ability to get outside and run.
- 10:09The one thing with the Eagles this year is they haven't really played from behind a whole
- 10:12lot, so his passing numbers are a lot easier when you can only focus on, you know, they
- 10:17have that run game element, which the Eagles are the best running team in the league, hands
- 10:20down.
- 10:21But I think if the Chiefs get ahead, I don't know if Hertz has that ability in the big
- 10:24game to, you know, take that step up.
- 10:27Just because he's not proven to do so, he hasn't had to yet.
- 10:30So I'm going to take the experience of the Chiefs defense in that regard.
- 10:34I know I'm probably one of the few that hasn't performed in as little as he does here.
- 10:39So Tyler, you question Jalen Hertz's ability to become generational talent.
- 10:44What if he wins the Super Bowl, wins Super Bowl MVP?
- 10:48Is he generational talent?
- 10:49Because keep in mind, Jalen Hertz is in his second year, second full year.
- 10:55So that's quite a lot to do in a short time, and that's pretty impressive.
- 11:00So what do you think about that, if that were the scenario here?
- 11:03I would agree that it takes him a step further.
- 11:05I want to see what he has more to offer with the less good of a team around him before
- 11:09I go to the generational talent aspect of it.
- 11:11If you look at the Chiefs when Holmes was, you know, came in, they were a really, really
- 11:15good team and he kind of took them to that next level as a playoff, perennial playoff
- 11:19caliber team and then taking them to the Super Bowl.
- 11:21They didn't really have a top tier defense at that time.
- 11:23Now they turned it around in the second half of the year and became that.
- 11:26They were extremely good towards the end of that year.
- 11:28And he's had a lot of weapons around him and one of the best play callers of all time
- 11:33in Andy Reid.
- 11:34Like that goes very under quer, under, he doesn't get as much praise as he should as
- 11:39a head coach with how successful he has been.
- 11:42But I think, I mean, I would definitely have to reevaluate depending on how we would play
- 11:46in this game.
- 11:47In terms of the MVP, that's essentially a quarterback's award.
- 11:49So I mean, it's going to be whatever quarterback wins is most likely going to get that.
- 11:53Now Cooper Cup, the exception last year, but that was also, you know, Cooper Cup going
- 11:58for just an insane game.
- 12:01So I don't think a player on each, either team's offense will kind of take them to that
- 12:05level where a quarterback's not going to win the award.
- 12:08But I would definitely have to rethink it, you know, but I just need to see more than,
- 12:11you know, two full years before I can kind of pin them on that.
- 12:15So I mean, I see where you're coming from with that in general.
- 12:21But the reason why I say generational talent, he does have a little bit of that Lamar type
- 12:29of rushing ability, but yet still has the arm to me, kind of like Mahomes, where he's
- 12:36able to, he's able to throw it in some spots that most other quarterbacks aren't able to
- 12:43do.
- 12:44I see him turning into that next level quarterback just because he's just as versatile as Mahomes,
- 12:53but he's also been in the big stage just as much as Mahomes and I, throughout his college
- 12:59career.
- 13:00I mean, I think that's, I think that's respectable because that's a lot of pressure on you, especially
- 13:07in that time in the SEC Championship game when he came up clutch after Tua got hurt
- 13:12in that SEC Championship game.
- 13:14I mean, the guy steps up in big moments for sure.
- 13:16He also got benched for Tua in the national championship game that same year though.
- 13:22So how much is, was he going to get benched if he's having that good of a game?
- 13:25And then he goes to Oklahoma and the Sooners weren't, they were good, but they didn't take
- 13:30that next time to top tier step.
- 13:32And I mean, to say, I'm not, I'm not discrediting that by any means, don't get me wrong, but
- 13:36to say he's been in that spotlight as much as Mahomes, who's been to two Super Bowls
- 13:39and won one of them, granted didn't have the collegiate career, not even close.
- 13:44But I mean, I'm taking that Super Bowl pressure over college football national championship
- 13:48pressure any day.
- 13:49All right, boys, enough about these quarterbacks.
- 13:52I think we've covered pretty much everything on them.
- 13:54Now let's go to how this game's actually going to be decided and we're going to pick our
- 13:57X-Factors.
- 13:58We're going to break it down with an offensive player and a defensive player from each team.
- 14:03But first let's get over to our degenerate, Moneyline Mikey.
- 14:08Start us off, bud.
- 14:10Thank you for the warm intro there, Tyler.
- 14:13This is Moneyline Mike.
- 14:15I want to call him degeneracy per se, more of a habit or a hobby is probably the best
- 14:24way to put it, right?
- 14:25A professional hobby.
- 14:26Yes, I don't win money yet, but we're going to get into it later.
- 14:31I think it is finally my time.
- 14:34But yeah, I like to bet on the sports.
- 14:37It takes me an hour and a half of my time every time I drive off to Iowa.
- 14:41With gas prices, that's a little rough, but it's okay.
- 14:44But the horse season's around the corner.
- 14:47Luckily that's more local and shouldn't be so bad.
- 14:51But let's get into the X-Factors here.
- 14:53Enough about me being degenerate here.
- 14:55Obviously we just talked a whole lot about quarterbacks.
- 15:00I didn't obviously have much to say, but because who cares about my opinion here?
- 15:04Because I'm just the local gambler here.
- 15:07I'll joke aside, actually.
- 15:09There's a reason why.
- 15:10They actually gave me a little crap for this in the pre-production, especially Tyler.
- 15:15If you haven't noticed yet, Tyler is my nemesis here.
- 15:17But yeah, for my X-Factor, I picked Patrick Mahomes.
- 15:22Usually an X-Factor, as we've recently discussed, is your unique player, someone unpredictable,
- 15:28someone out of the ordinary.
- 15:29But honestly, no, it isn't.
- 15:31None of this go around.
- 15:34It's Mahomes.
- 15:35Mahomes, for many different reasons, mainly just because of this ankle injury.
- 15:40This ankle injury, people are making way light of it because it's Mahomes.
- 15:44Mahomes is Superman.
- 15:45No, he's human here.
- 15:47Let's not forget that.
- 15:49Most people in this injury don't finish the game, first off, and win.
- 15:54And second off, most people, they miss weeks.
- 15:58If you look at Tony Romo, identical ankle injury.
- 16:01Missed six weeks.
- 16:02And he is, literally, this is one of his main things in his career he's known for, is dependency
- 16:07and reliability.
- 16:08He doesn't miss games.
- 16:11And here's Mahomes two weeks later.
- 16:13He's listed as questionable, but all systems are listed as go.
- 16:17That's just how he's listed, but he's still going to be playing.
- 16:19And that's obviously going to determine the game.
- 16:22This is the Super Bowl.
- 16:23He's going against one of the number one, I mean, top defenses of all time.
- 16:28Some people are comparing them to the 1985 Bears.
- 16:30Obviously, that's a little bit of a stretch, but seriously, with their defensive line and
- 16:35their secondary that they have, he's got to cut it against him.
- 16:41And with that leg, the biggest thing is he's always been known for his scramble.
- 16:46He's been known to be able to go out of pocket and create plays out of nothing with Travis
- 16:49Kelsey and his receiving core and scramble and get that first down.
- 16:57And that's not going to be there.
- 16:58I doubt it in nine to two weeks.
- 17:01Now when most QBs either miss six to nine weeks or have to get surgery or have to get
- 17:05major rehab after the injury that he had here.
- 17:09So he is my X factor.
- 17:10The last thing I would just finish with him is really hits his legacy at stake.
- 17:16He's won one out of two Super Bowls, 50 percent cool.
- 17:21This is the beginning of his legacy.
- 17:24What is his story going to be?
- 17:27We get paid on results.
- 17:28We get judged on results.
- 17:29It's the same thing in my job.
- 17:30It's the same thing in most people's lives.
- 17:32What you deliver is how you get judged.
- 17:34It doesn't matter what you do in the regular season.
- 17:37It doesn't matter what the stats are.
- 17:40It's about what Ricky Bobby says.
- 17:42If you're not first, you're last.
- 17:45Just kidding.
- 17:46But he's trying to create a legacy though.
- 17:49And yeah, I just think a lot with his contract.
- 17:52And then the biggest thing, and I'll leave it with this, it's that big moment doubt.
- 17:56If he wins this game, he starts that legacy.
- 17:58If he loses this game, the professionals, the pros, all the analysts in the league are
- 18:03going to start questioning him in big moments.
- 18:05In the biggest moments that count.
- 18:07But yeah, that's what I got to say.
- 18:09Let me pass it back to my nemesis here.
- 18:12Hopefully he doesn't call me any more mean words tonight.
- 18:15But let's pass it back to this Wisconsinite.
- 18:17He smells like cheese.
- 18:18His name is Tyler.
- 18:19Well, I don't know.
- 18:20We were going down that road here the first podcast, Danny, but I love you, bud.
- 18:25That was quite the take, quite the take.
- 18:28It's interesting they put the star quarterback as the X factor, but hey, that's all right.
- 18:34For me with the Chiefs offense, I'm going to go with their offensive line.
- 18:37This Eagles front seven is just vaunted this year.
- 18:40They have 68 sacks, which is third of all time to those 84 Bears, which had 72.
- 18:47So they were four sacks short of it.
- 18:49It was insane with their front seven.
- 18:51Really their front four was able to do.
- 18:53They had 10 players with 10 sacks each, which has had never happened before.
- 18:58And what did they do?
- 18:59They went out and gotten it.
- 19:00I'm a consume and Robert Quinn.
- 19:01So what can this Chiefs offensive line do?
- 19:04It's not a focal point or strong point of this team.
- 19:08That Eagles front seven and front four, especially just scares the crap out of anybody that's
- 19:12in front of them.
- 19:13So how well are they going to be able to protect Patty Mahomes?
- 19:16But the more importantly, how well are they going to be able to get the run game going
- 19:19so they can have some resemblance of a balance on offense so they don't just have to rely
- 19:24on Mahomes because those those edges are coming fierce.
- 19:27If they can pin back on fourth or sorry, third and, you know, seven or longer and just get
- 19:31after the quarterback.
- 19:32I don't know if those Chiefs offensive threats outside can beat this Eagles secondary.
- 19:38So I really think this this game is going to come down to the Chiefs offensive line,
- 19:42at least from the scoring sake on the Chiefs themselves.
- 19:45That's really all I have for the Chiefs offensive factors, though.
- 19:48What do you think, Nick?
- 19:49Who's your factor?
- 19:51Well, because of every single point that you just put off, I have the beast, the the man
- 20:00known as Kelsey.
- 20:04I think the only way the only way the Chiefs are going to be successful successful is if
- 20:12Kelsey decides to find the monster inside that man and he plays extremely physical while
- 20:19getting off the line and getting some harder yards.
- 20:24I mean, there's no other way you're getting through this Eagles defense.
- 20:27In my opinion, that man is going to have to break out and you have to break out with an
- 20:31attitude.
- 20:32So my X Factor is definitely Kelsey.
- 20:35It's pretty obvious.
- 20:37But man, this is going to have to be his biggest game at the biggest time at the biggest stage.
- 20:42So we'll see if that happens.
- 20:45I have enough confidence in that man, but that's my prediction.
- 20:51Mr. Kyle, I've been wondering what's on that tinker of yours.
- 20:54Yeah, I think Kelsey is going to be really productive against the Eagles in this game,
- 21:00but someone else has got to step up and I think it's Marques Valdez-Skantling.
- 21:05He's I believe last game he had close to 10 targets, 116 yards and one touchdown.
- 21:13He's definitely the deep threat guy now with Tyreek out of the equation, but he's got to
- 21:20step up this game if the Chiefs really want to win this one.
- 21:25Derek, what do you think here?
- 21:27Yeah, so it sounds like a lot of you guys like the receivers or for Travis Kelsey, but
- 21:33my X factor in this one is going to have to be the Chiefs running game.
- 21:36So whether that's going to be Pacheco, McKinnon, or even Clyde Edwards-Halair.
- 21:40So now there's a name you probably have not heard of in several weeks.
- 21:45That guy was kind of an afterthought.
- 21:47He probably still won't be much of a factor in my opinion.
- 21:50He's probably going to be the third string behind Pacheco, McKinnon, but I think those
- 21:54guys are definitely going to have to step up.
- 21:56As I've said before, the Eagles past defense is the best in the league.
- 22:01They've recorded a ton of sacks.
- 22:03They'll definitely pressure Mahomes.
- 22:04They have a really, really good secondary and the Chiefs are banged up at receivers,
- 22:09so it's going to be tough to pass.
- 22:11So I think those guys are going to have to really step up.
- 22:13The Chiefs like to bend the running game, but I think they're going to have to against
- 22:17the Seagulls defense because that is actually probably their weak point as a defense is
- 22:22against the running game.
- 22:23They gave up still a pretty good number of yards to San Francisco who didn't even have
- 22:27a quarterback.
- 22:28So I think that speaks volumes right there.
- 22:32So I think the Chiefs really should run if they want to have a good chance in this game.
- 22:37So those were some diverse takes I think on the Chiefs.
- 22:41Why don't we go on over to the Eagles.
- 22:44So I think Nick, you've got a pretty big take here on your X Factor.
- 22:48I got a big one in my opinion.
- 22:53So we all know who AJ Brown is.
- 22:57We know what that man does to defenses and we know what Jalen Hurts does on that ground.
- 23:02So if I'm the Chiefs, I'm doubling up AJ Brown all day long and I'm stacking that box
- 23:10and I'm trying to make sure that we contain Mr. Jalen Hurts.
- 23:14So what does that open up?
- 23:16To me, where does the biggest game come from?
- 23:19I think it's going to be Devontae Smith.
- 23:21I think he takes advantage of that weak defense secondary with the Chiefs.
- 23:27I think he goes for two big deep touchdowns.
- 23:31My X Factor is Devontae Smith.
- 23:34And I can already tell that I got another fellow podcaster here who has a similar mindset
- 23:41over there.
- 23:42What you got over there, Mr. Kyle?
- 23:43Yeah, you took my guy Devontae Smith.
- 23:47Last few games, actually I should say the last 10 games he's had the same target share
- 23:51with AJ Brown, eight targets a game over 80 yards.
- 23:57I think the Chiefs are going to try to double up AJ Brown in a way, but it's almost kind
- 24:03of a pick your poison with AJ Brown, Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard.
- 24:09The Eagles are really, really good offensively and the Chiefs do have a pretty weak secondary.
- 24:16So I do think Brown gets a deep ball.
- 24:20I think he goes a hundred yards, actually 112 yards with the touchdown.
- 24:25That's my prediction.
- 24:26I'm going bold here.
- 24:29But yeah, he's going to have a good game.
- 24:32I will say great minds do think like Mr. Kyle.
- 24:35So with that in the place here, I feel like we might have somebody else who might have
- 24:41a different mindset.
- 24:42I can already just see you staring at me, Mr. Wright over there.
- 24:46So Tyler, let's see what you got.
- 24:48Yeah, I'm going to go with somebody else on the Eagles offense here.
- 24:53Actually Derek and I agree on this one.
- 24:55So we, we are, we agree that AJ Brown is going to be the focal point of that offensive passing
- 25:01game for the Eagles.
- 25:03But we also think that, or I also think that Devontae Smith is going to be the second best
- 25:07option there.
- 25:08So they're going to do their best to shut him down.
- 25:10So I chose Dallas Goddard.
- 25:13He's going to be able to eat on the inside there.
- 25:15If you shut down those two offensive threats, the Chiefs passing game is not very good.
- 25:21So that will mean that the Eagles are going to have to get a little bit more creative
- 25:25if they're taking away those top two threats outside.
- 25:27And that gives Goddard an ability to eat underneath.
- 25:30So I think he's going to have to have a big game here for that Eagles offense to truly
- 25:33come to their full form.
- 25:35But what do you think, Derek?
- 25:36I know you agree with me on this one.
- 25:37Yeah, 100%.
- 25:38No, I, I think that this is going to be a very interesting Super Bowl in the fact that
- 25:42I think this is going to be a tight end show.
- 25:45Those who have participated in fantasy football this year, you've seen that, you know, tight
- 25:50ends were kind of an afterthought this year.
- 25:52You know, they, they were kind of just non-existent.
- 25:54You know, I, I own Mark Andrews this year and that guy kind of fell off towards the
- 25:58end of the year, which is super unfortunate, but he still finished, you know, what, two,
- 26:02second, third in the league in fantasy scoring.
- 26:04So you know, I think that this is going to be an interesting game and I think, yeah,
- 26:08tight ends will definitely show up in this one.
- 26:10You know, the chiefs are going to be getting back with Jerry Snead, who is their top corner.
- 26:15So I think, you know, he's going to be helping shut down AJ Brown, Devontae Smith.
- 26:21And of course, you know, like I've said before, the chiefs are pretty porous on pass defense.
- 26:24So I definitely think Goddard will be the guy they may not account for and he can be,
- 26:30he can be pretty sneaky just like Travis Kelsey can be.
- 26:33So we've kind of got the room split down the middle here.
- 26:35So Mikey, what are you going to go with?
- 26:39So I got a different X factor for the Eagles.
- 26:41Now in the name of splitting the tie in the name of my financial wallet of driving to
- 26:48Diamond Joe's, I would pick Dallas Goddard.
- 26:52Now as far as who I actually picked, I did pick Miles Sanders.
- 26:57Let's not forget this is the Super Bowl.
- 26:59I know it's a pretty generic statement, but it's a grind.
- 27:04It's going to be about who controls the ball, who has the possessions the most, who owns
- 27:09that clock.
- 27:10And with Miles Sanders, I mean, they got to establish a run game early.
- 27:15They have to, to control that momentum, to open up the play action option, the option
- 27:20up hurts and his ability to scramble.
- 27:23And it's just going to be a long game.
- 27:25Like don't forget halftime twice as long.
- 27:29It's just going to drag out, right?
- 27:31And if they can just establish a run game and wear that defense down, it's going to
- 27:36create a lot for them in the fourth quarter, in the third quarter.
- 27:39But yeah, that's who I have from my X factor.
- 27:43Let's pass it on over back to Tyler here to break us back into the defensive side of the
- 27:49ball here.
- 27:50All right.
- 27:51Thank you, Stan.
- 27:52We're going to start with the chief side of the ball here.
- 27:53I'm going to go with the inside backers for the chiefs.
- 27:56We got Nick Bolton and Willie Gay Jr.
- 27:58They're going to need to close those rushing lanes and force the Eagles to beat them in
- 28:01the passing game.
- 28:02They're not going to, if they're not keeping their commit and filling those holes, they're
- 28:07not going to be able to be productive as a defense with the Eagles running all over them
- 28:11because that in turn will open up that play action game, open up the passing lanes.
- 28:15So they're going to have to stay committed to the, to stopping the run and not over committing
- 28:19to any rushing lane because that Eagles offensive line is just insane with their running schemes
- 28:24and just big maulers.
- 28:26They are just wild how good they truly are.
- 28:30They're going to have to have a big game in the middle and be able to also kind of keep
- 28:33containment on Jalen if they do or if they are in a spy situation, keep containment on
- 28:39them, not allow them to get outside and beat them with the run or beat them with their
- 28:42legs.
- 28:43So I think they're going to have to have a big game and they also play a role in stopping
- 28:47Dallas Gowder over the middle.
- 28:49So I think a lot of the chiefs off the defensive success is going to come from Nick Bolton
- 28:53and Willie Gay and just filling those run holes.
- 28:57What about you Kyle?
- 28:58What you thinking on this one?
- 28:59I'm thinking Chris Jones.
- 29:02He's got 15 sacks on the year and he'll be tough to stop, but at the same time Philly
- 29:08has a really good offensive line.
- 29:10So the, it'll be pretty hard on Chris Jones to apply pressure, but if he gets to the quarterback,
- 29:18that's going to be huge, that'll be huge for the chiefs defensive side of the ball.
- 29:24So I believe Nick, you have someone similar.
- 29:28Oh man, do I?
- 29:30Chris Jones is definitely to me the X factor on this defense.
- 29:37There are some solid edge rushers that Mr. Wright over there mentioned, but I think the
- 29:46biggest difference is Chris Jones because really what's going to come down to are they
- 29:52going to shut down that offense and the way that they're going to be able to shut down
- 29:58that offense is being able to get at Mr. Hertz, getting him out of the way, getting him flustered
- 30:03and I don't know if anybody's seen Chris Jones, but that's a big boy.
- 30:08That's a big man and he has done it in the past.
- 30:13He's done it at Super Bowl.
- 30:15I think he is the man to really make that big difference play when well, she's needed
- 30:23the most.
- 30:24So I couldn't agree with you more.
- 30:27Mr. Kyle.
- 30:28Thanks pal.
- 30:29Yeah.
- 30:30That is, that is working very nice.
- 30:33So with that, I'm kind of wondering what's going on over there.
- 30:39Mr. Derek, what's your thoughts on this, this area?
- 30:42I mean, there's no doubt in my mind that Chris Jones is the guy on defense.
- 30:47I mean, he's obviously the guy everyone looks to, you know, he's double teams almost all
- 30:51the time and we'll see how Philly's offensive line can keep up with that.
- 30:56But where I'm looking to is in the Chiefs, very, very young secondary.
- 31:00So obviously like what I've said before, you know, I'm a firm believer that the Eagles
- 31:04are going to be passing a lot.
- 31:05I think their run game is going to get shut down, which is what they're really comfortable
- 31:09with in terms of running.
- 31:10I think the Chiefs are going to make that a point to shut that down, try to get Philly
- 31:14to pass more.
- 31:16So I'm looking to a guy in Ligeria Smead who has just recently cleared concussion protocol.
- 31:23He's a young guy.
- 31:24He's got a big weight on his shoulders.
- 31:26You know, he's got two stud receivers that he's going to have to pick from.
- 31:29I don't know if I'd want to go up against either guy, but now he's going to have his
- 31:33hands full all game.
- 31:34You know, he could get torched for sure, but as long as he makes that one big play, you
- 31:39know, the Chiefs offense definitely has his back.
- 31:42So I think as long as he makes that one big clutch play, whether it be a pick, batted
- 31:46pass, anything, I think that could come up huge in what I think is going to be a pretty
- 31:50high scoring Super Bowl.
- 31:53So that's kind of my opinion on that.
- 31:55What do you got over there, Magic Mikey?
- 32:01Magic Mike is only a weekend job.
- 32:03My full time job is a money lines with Mike.
- 32:07But no, all joking aside, I'll be short and sweet here.
- 32:10I got Nick Bolton.
- 32:13He's just a stud.
- 32:14He's one of four captains on the Chiefs.
- 32:17For the season of 22, he tied for second in tackles with 125 solo tackles, 49 assists,
- 32:25which is also good for second, and was fourth in interceptions overall.
- 32:30The stats don't lie.
- 32:31We talked about results earlier and results are what you're judged on.
- 32:35And he has quite the proven stat lines and record book this season so far.
- 32:41So yeah, Nick Bolton.
- 32:42It's up to him to kind of lead the defense, shut it down.
- 32:46But yeah, that's what I got.
- 32:47And that is going to complete our X-Factor segment here for the Chiefs defense.
- 32:53Let's go ahead and go on to the Eagles side of the ball and let's actually reverse it
- 32:57right on back to my good pal Derek here to start us off here on the Eagles side.
- 33:02Whoa, I didn't know we were playing an uno reverse card on me.
- 33:06Alright, well no problem.
- 33:08Well on the Eagles side, I think the pass rush is going to be the big X-Factor on the
- 33:13Eagles.
- 33:14So I'm looking right at Hasan Reddick, the team's leading sack leader.
- 33:18He's going to have to really pressure Mahomes all game long.
- 33:22I'll make him really uncomfortable.
- 33:24He's got a bad ankle so if you can get him to make bad throws in the pocket, that's
- 33:27great.
- 33:28Or if you can get him to scramble, he's probably not going to be tough to chase down given
- 33:32that he's kind of hobbling a little bit.
- 33:33So I think Reddick's going to have to live up to the hype that he's been all regular
- 33:37season and he's going to have to make big plays.
- 33:40We both have the same guy here.
- 33:42I'm looking at Hasan Reddick myself too.
- 33:4516 sacks on the air, second in the NFL.
- 33:49He will be tough to stop, I believe, if my notes are right.
- 33:55He's already at 3.5 sacks in postseason play.
- 33:58So he will, it's really, yeah.
- 34:02So their Chiefs are going to have their work cut out for them for sure.
- 34:07But their offensive line, the Chiefs offensive line is not bad.
- 34:11But I do believe Hasan Reddick will apply the pressure and Mahomes, it will make Mahomes
- 34:19life difficult with that bad ankle.
- 34:21Mikey, what do you got for your X Factor on the defensive side of the ball for the Eagles?
- 34:27Yeah, I have the D line for the Eagles overall to create that pressure obviously on Mahomes.
- 34:34Obviously he's not going to be able to scramble.
- 34:37So they should be able to eat.
- 34:38They should be able to do better than you would typically expect against Mahomes, especially
- 34:43with Brandon Graham leading the way as a captain on that defensive line at 6'2", 268 pounds.
- 34:50I wouldn't want to go against that.
- 34:52I know they got a good offensive line obviously, but we'll see.
- 34:57Without Mahomes being able to scramble, how does that affect their offensive play?
- 35:02How does it expect that offensive line, knowing that he's in the pocket.
- 35:07He's not going to be able to get out of the pocket as easy.
- 35:09So yeah, I got the Eagles defensive line and if I had to pick one person, I have Brandon
- 35:14Graham overall.
- 35:16But yeah, that's what I got to say.
- 35:18Let's see what my ugliest of my two brothers, Nick here, has to say.
- 35:24Well, we're going to use the term ugly.
- 35:27I guess I don't know what your definition is, but I'll take it for now.
- 35:32No matter what.
- 35:35Jokes aside, I like to be right all the time.
- 35:38So my right prediction on the X Factor is Slay Jr. and that Eagles secondary in general.
- 35:49Man, I think the biggest difference between what is going to go down and why I think that
- 35:58the Eagles are going to win, we'll get into that later.
- 36:01It's going to be Slay Jr.
- 36:02It's going to be that Eagles defense.
- 36:05That's why I predicted two interceptions on Patrick Mahomes side earlier.
- 36:09So that's my opinion on the X Factor for the Eagles defense.
- 36:13What you thinking about there, Mr. Wright?
- 36:19Well, so I am thinking of taking on this Eagles defense a one CJ Gardner Johnson.
- 36:27He has to take Kelsey out of this game.
- 36:30They're going to have to double team him.
- 36:32He's the focal point of that passing game, so they don't really have a choice.
- 36:35But CJ Gardner Johnson is one of the best slot corners that we do have in this game.
- 36:40Before he got injured in the year, he was leading the league in interceptions.
- 36:43And if I'm not mistaken, he finished second overall in the league still with being injured
- 36:47in the regular season.
- 36:49But Kelsey is this this whole team where they rely on Kelsey and the red zone, especially
- 36:54he's the best red zone target we've seen in, I don't know, a lot, a lot of years.
- 36:59So CJ Gardner Johnson is going to have to man up, take away that third down, him just
- 37:05Kelsey just slipping out from a block and just they have to be able to recognize that
- 37:08and stop that.
- 37:09Otherwise, Mahomes is just going to be able to eat all day, regardless of what that pass
- 37:12rush is doing.
- 37:14He's always looking for Kelsey, especially when he gets under pressure.
- 37:17If they have to turn him into a pocket quarterback, the guy still has the arm talent of one of
- 37:21the all time greats.
- 37:22So he can be a very, very good pocket passer as well.
- 37:26And he's always looking at Kelsey first and Gardner Johnson's going to have to have a
- 37:30big game to take this this game over for the Eagles defense and stop that chief's offense.
- 37:36All right, boys, now we have one of my favorite segments.
- 37:40I love the guy, but he is my sworn nemesis.
- 37:44We are kicking it over to our resident degenerate.
- 37:48We have money lines with Mikey.
- 37:52It's time to talk money, spreads, props and locks of the week.
- 38:01Get in on the action.
- 38:02It's time for money lines with Mikey.
- 38:09It is time to make some money with Mikey.
- 38:21It is money lines with Mike.
- 38:24And let's get right into it, guys.
- 38:27We are all here to spend a little pocket change and turn it into maybe a new TV.
- 38:33Who knows?
- 38:34I've already invested an hour and a half of my time to get old Diamond Joe's and gas prices,
- 38:39you know, added maybe 40 bucks there.
- 38:41And I may have stopped at the blackjack table and lost 60.
- 38:45But let's get into where I can make some big money where I was there for the whole reason
- 38:49that brought me an hour and a half south, because good old Minnesota, of course, does
- 38:54not have illegal yet and probably never will.
- 38:57Who knows?
- 38:58Let's get into the point, though.
- 38:59Drove an hour and a half south to make some bets, to do a little investigating and to
- 39:03turn some pocket change into spending money.
- 39:06But yeah, overall for the game, we have a total predicted points of 50 and a half points.
- 39:16To me, seems a little high.
- 39:17I personally would bet the under on that with the defenses that are on the field there.
- 39:24But who knows?
- 39:25As far as total predictions, though, we do have the Eagles favorited by one and a half
- 39:32points, which I agree with.
- 39:34We will discuss that after this segment here and why I agree with that.
- 39:38But I definitely think the Eagles are going to cover in then some, at least by three points
- 39:43here.
- 39:45As far as bets go, of course, we have discussed the MVP favorite and they're going to discuss
- 39:53that.
- 39:55It's a quarterbacks award.
- 39:56Jalen Hurts in my home is probably going to win that.
- 40:00You bet five bucks on that, it ain't going to pay you much.
- 40:03It's only plus 130.
- 40:05Now there obviously was going to be quite some other vast opinions on this.
- 40:13One of the predictions that I don't want to get into the reasons why, but who knows?
- 40:18Someone predicts possibly might be predicting Kelsey.
- 40:22If you didn't already know, he's playing with his brother, first time a player's ever played
- 40:25with his brother in the Super Bowl.
- 40:28But anywho, Travis Kelsey, not Jason, of course, Travis Kelsey is at plus 1600 as the MVP favorite.
- 40:36If you put five bucks on that, that'll turn to 80.
- 40:40Put that in a little parley action.
- 40:42Who knows?
- 40:43It's going to pay out quite well.
- 40:45Not too unpredictable, especially with the Kansas City Chiefs and their lack of the wide
- 40:51receiver depth right now and the injuries that they've suffered this year.
- 40:54But yeah, moving on.
- 40:56One of the most common bets in the Super Bowl and one of the best, in my opinion, arguably
- 41:01the best bet to make money in, again, that's what we're here for, is Moneylines and Mike
- 41:06and making money, is going to be the first touchdown of the day.
- 41:10First touchdown of the day is pretty hard to predict.
- 41:11It's going to be ahead of the higher payoffs.
- 41:13It is an essential, essential part of anybody's parleys.
- 41:18Let's just slow down and talk a little bit about Dallas Goddard, as I successfully pronounce
- 41:23hopefully, at plus 1200.
- 41:251200 is pretty good.
- 41:27You bet five bucks on him, pays you 60.
- 41:30Now that's not the bet I'm saying.
- 41:32Crucial bet when it comes to the parley.
- 41:34The first touchdown is one of the highest odds, one of the toughest to predict, and
- 41:39I just think he has it.
- 41:42They're predicting the run.
- 41:43They're predicting Hertz to get it outside.
- 41:45They're going to be double covering their wide outs.
- 41:48He's going to be open.
- 41:49He's going to be on one-on-one coverage.
- 41:51When he gets the ball, he's elusive.
- 41:54He's in mind of all the tight ends out there.
- 41:56God, when he gets the ball, it kind of feels like a halfback in a way, which is kind of
- 42:00weird to say.
- 42:01But that's just how I feel.
- 42:03But let's get into Money Mike.
- 42:06The real why this segment has such a hype and such a little buildup here is we're here
- 42:12to make money.
- 42:13I got three $5 bets I just want to briefly discuss that I think you can make money on.
- 42:20You're not your typical bets.
- 42:22Of course, they're quite high odds, but this is the Super Bowl.
- 42:26Why would we not go for super bets here?
- 42:29So let's just dive in here.
- 42:32One of my favorite ones at plus $17,965.
- 42:38You heard me right.
- 42:39But this is, again, first podcast, Super Bowl, super bets.
- 42:42Here we go.
- 42:43I got Mr. Dallas, who we just discussed, as the first touchdown scorer.
- 42:49Obviously, if you're getting the first touchdown, it makes those odds.
- 42:53If you're getting the second one, quite high.
- 42:55If you're getting that first one in the first quarter, first couple of minutes, you've got
- 42:58a lot of ball left.
- 42:59Odds if you get a second, quite high.
- 43:01So I got a parlay with him the first touchdown going into him getting a second touchdown.
- 43:09Now to juice it up and on the other side of the ball, because obviously it's not going
- 43:13to be a one-sided affair.
- 43:14I think it's going to be quite high scoring in the first half.
- 43:17We got Juju Smith Schuster anytime.
- 43:21Doesn't matter if he scores the last second or if he scores shortly after Dallas.
- 43:25That's what I got.
- 43:26Five bucks pays you $903.
- 43:30That sounds a nice 45-inch Samsung QLED TV if I've ever seen one, hoping to be sponsored
- 43:36by Samsung one day.
- 43:38But let me bring it over to Tyler just for a second here.
- 43:40What do you feel about that, Tyler?
- 43:41You know, out of all your wild bets here tonight, Mikey, I am actually kind of a fan of this
- 43:47one.
- 43:48As you guys all know, Dallas Goddard is indeed my X factor for the Eagles offense.
- 43:52So for him scoring first, that does not surprise me.
- 43:54It wouldn't surprise me.
- 43:55I think that is a likely possibility and him getting another touchdown throughout the rest
- 43:59of the game.
- 44:00Which you very well see happening.
- 44:01Juju Smith Schuster has not really done much for the Chiefs this offense this year.
- 44:06They were expecting a lot more out of him.
- 44:07What better time to break out and perform than the Super Bowl?
- 44:10Get him a touchdown.
- 44:11I do not hate it.
- 44:13Out of all the bets you have here, Mikey, I'd put my five bucks on this one for you,
- 44:17buddy.
- 44:18Sweet.
- 44:19I could definitely use the five bucks for sure.
- 44:20But such the life of your local degenerate.
- 44:24Let's go on to my next bet here.
- 44:27Of course, I talked about the first touchdown being the most crucial part of the legs.
- 44:32And I have first touchdown here going on the other side of the ball.
- 44:36We have Jereck McKinnon running back for Kansas City Chiefs.
- 44:40I just think it's going to be him.
- 44:43Holmes can't scramble.
- 44:44It's going to be a tough game.
- 44:46I could see it getting all the way down to the goal line, especially with the Eagles
- 44:49defense.
- 44:50But I could see it being tough and see McKinnon running in for the last two yards for the
- 44:56first.
- 44:57From there, we already talked about Dallas G, Mr. G as I like to call him, for an anytime
- 45:02touchdown.
- 45:03He's going to score one.
- 45:04He's a weapon.
- 45:05He's there.
- 45:06He's ready.
- 45:07He's due.
- 45:09From there, we got a Clyde Edwards Hilaire, definitely pronounced that wrong, for an anytime
- 45:17touchdown.
- 45:18I apologize about my pronunciation.
- 45:20Twice college dropout here of your local UW stout.
- 45:24But hey, it's like misdemeanors.
- 45:26Everyone has to.
- 45:27But yeah, I got him for an anytime touchdown.
- 45:30And then of course, your local powerhouse, the most predictable.
- 45:35This literally almost doubled my bet, adding Travis Kelty.
- 45:39Travis Kelty for an anytime touchdown.
- 45:42Pretty much almost doubled my bet.
- 45:45Turned a $5 bet to potentially pay $35.38.
- 45:50Well, some people win the Powerball.
- 45:54I personally don't think this is quite the Powerball.
- 45:56I think this is a slam dunk.
- 45:58But you know, again, twice college dropout here.
- 46:01Who knows?
- 46:02I might be wrong.
- 46:03Let me bring it over to my ugly brother though, Nick, just to see what comments he has on
- 46:06this bet here.
- 46:07Well, for a lottery ticket, I'll tell you what.
- 46:10I could spend $5 on this one and see some returns coming back because I've got $3,500.
- 46:16We'll make for a pretty darn good night in Philadelphia.
- 46:22So with the bet itself, Jerick McKinnon going into the first touchdown, that's a very solid
- 46:28chance.
- 46:29I see him really being able to get some goal line touches.
- 46:32So that in itself I like.
- 46:34Obviously, with Dallas Goddard touchdown, I feel like that's kind of going without it
- 46:40saying.
- 46:41Very high chance.
- 46:42But I really do like this Clyde Edwards-Halair play here.
- 46:46I mean, a lot of people are kind of looking past it.
- 46:49His odds are $1,600 for it.
- 46:52I think that's just a smart play for a possible lottery ticket.
- 46:57And slam dunk with Kelsey.
- 46:59I mean, you couldn't go wrong here.
- 47:00So great bet.
- 47:02Again, I appreciate the support and I will gladly take that $5 because we're down on
- 47:10the hole on the day.
- 47:11But we'll take it.
- 47:13Let's finish this up here.
- 47:14My last par late.
- 47:15I'll be quick.
- 47:16I got Miles Sanders.
- 47:17Again, I think it's going to be a brutal, brutal defensive grind.
- 47:21I think there's going to be a lot of goal line red zone touches.
- 47:25So Miles Sanders for two touchdowns.
- 47:27Miles Sanders for the first touchdown.
- 47:30And of course, Travis Kelsey.
- 47:31Again, powerhouse is expected with his passing targets.
- 47:34He's going to get one at any time.
- 47:37And then again, Mr. G, any time touchdown.
- 47:41You put five bucks on that, those four legs, pays you $7.86 and 50 cents.
- 47:47Again, these bets are Super Bowl bets.
- 47:49They're super bets.
- 47:51Not your typical bets.
- 47:53Now I ain't trying to turn five bucks on Mr. Gaurik getting the first touchdown and only
- 47:57making 60.
- 47:58I personally rather make something big out of it and who knows?
- 48:01We'll see.
- 48:02But that is pretty much what I got for my parlays.
- 48:05The last thing I would just say is lock of the week.
- 48:09It's Travis Kelsey again.
- 48:11He's a monster.
- 48:13He's done it time and time again.
- 48:14He's an X factor.
- 48:17It's predictable, right?
- 48:18Now just don't forget about him, right?
- 48:20I was shocked by when you add Travis Kelsey on how much value it adds to the parlay.
- 48:26It can take an $800 parlay and take it to $1,500.
- 48:30Why would you not have an anytime Travis Kelsey touchdown as your lock of the week, especially
- 48:36if it's going to increase your pay that much?
- 48:39I think it's going to be quite the profitable day.
- 48:42We'll see.
- 48:43Now that's why they call me the degenerate.
- 48:46More times than not, you're not going to win it.
- 48:48So please don't spend your rent money.
- 48:50Don't spend your utilities.
- 48:51But that is all I got with Moneylines with Mikey.
- 48:58Well Mikey, I sure hope you still have some money left over for bills this month because
- 49:02you got some wild ones there, bud.
- 49:04But in all serious, let's get to the actual importance of this podcast.
- 49:08Let's make some prediction, boys.
- 49:10First off, we're going to start with the MVP prediction.
- 49:12Historically, this has been a quarterback award.
- 49:15What do you guys think?
- 49:16Are we a non-quarterback going to take it this year like last year with Cooper Cup or
- 49:20is it going to be again going back to that all important quarterback?
- 49:23Derek, why don't we start with you, sir?
- 49:25I'm probably going to make the biggest, boldest take of the night and going to say that we
- 49:30are going to see the first tight end in NFL history to win the Super Bowl MVP.
- 49:35There's no better time for someone to win like Travis Kelsey.
- 49:38Dude has been an animal all year long and this is probably his best shot to get a tight
- 49:44end to win that MVP award.
- 49:46Normally, that award is heavily favored to go to the QB, which is understandable.
- 49:52They're the leader of the offense, but as I've really just have hit on all night long,
- 49:58the Eagles are going to be coming after Mahomes.
- 50:01Their secondary is just unbelievably good, so they're probably going to take out those
- 50:05deep threats.
- 50:06I think Mahomes is going to lean on Kelsey a lot, especially in the red zone.
- 50:10That's always been just such a great connection.
- 50:12Of course, Chiefs, just a lot of injuries at wide receiver.
- 50:16Cole Hardman is back on injured reserve.
- 50:19Tony and Smith Schuster are questionable, although I think they will probably play.
- 50:23But will they be limited?
- 50:24Who knows?
- 50:25But obviously, Travis Kelsey is Mahomes' go-to and I think this is probably the best shot
- 50:30for a tight end to really win Super Bowl MVP.
- 50:35I know that was a very bold take to start with.
- 50:38Mikey, do you think you can one-up that one?
- 50:41I've been pretty bold on most of this podcast.
- 50:45Let's bring it back down a little bit here and humble myself a little bit here.
- 50:48I'm not always too crazy.
- 50:50But no, I got Jalen Hertz as the MVP.
- 50:54I know he's the obvious choice, but I think Philly is going to bring something different.
- 50:58They're the most healthy.
- 51:00We've talked about their past defense being the best this year and possibly in quite a
- 51:05long time in a generation.
- 51:08He's got the health on the side.
- 51:10Their team's healthy.
- 51:11They've got a great offensive line.
- 51:12To be honest, one of the big things I think too is since his injury, obviously they've
- 51:18been scheming different because it's about getting to the Super Bowl.
- 51:22They're not going to send him on his scrambles that he typically does.
- 51:24They're not going to send him on his running plays, designed running plays that he typically
- 51:27does.
- 51:29This is now the Super Bowl.
- 51:30This is everything.
- 51:31You put all the marbles in.
- 51:32You put all the chips in.
- 51:33If you're not all in 100%, it's over.
- 51:37Jalen Hertz, we're going to see a different game out of him this week than we've seen
- 51:41in the last couple.
- 51:43With that in mind, I think he's going to have some design run plays.
- 51:47He's going to have some game changing moments.
- 51:50With that, he's going to be bringing home whatever car they're giving out this year.
- 51:53I'm sure it's a Ford Fiesta.
- 51:55I'm just kidding.
- 51:56Something nicer than that.
- 51:58Whatever car they're giving out this year is going to be Jalen Hertz.
- 52:03Let's see what the guy over here that smells like cheese thinks here.
- 52:06Just kidding.
- 52:07What do you think here, Tyler, overall as the MVP here?
- 52:10As I mentioned when we kicked off this segment, it's a quarterback award to be won.
- 52:14I think this is going to be a good indication of who's going to win this game with our MVP
- 52:19predictions here.
- 52:20I have it going to Mr. Paddy Mahomes.
- 52:22The guy's just too good.
- 52:23He steps up in the biggest moments, unlike anybody we've seen in quite some time outside
- 52:28of that one guy who probably just retired.
- 52:30Other than that, I agree with you, Derek, that Kelsey's going to have to have a big
- 52:35game.
- 52:36I just don't know if he could have the level of production without Mahomes having the same
- 52:40level if not more to take that cake from him, especially with Mahomes just being the poster
- 52:45boy of the NFL right now.
- 52:48He has that marketing aspect of him that goes behind it as well as much as we think we can
- 52:51take that out of it.
- 52:53He's the most marketable player in the NFL right now, and I really don't think it's kind
- 52:56of close.
- 52:58I think it's his to lose, and so long as the Chiefs do indeed win this game.
- 53:02If Travis Kelsey won, I would be floored.
- 53:03I'm a huge Kelsey believer, and I didn't know that a Titan has never won, so that's news
- 53:08to me.
- 53:09If he could take that, I would be ecstatic for him.
- 53:12I just don't think that would happen without Mahomes just going above and beyond.
- 53:15But if Mahomes goes out and throws two, three interceptions, they still win the game, and
- 53:18Kelsey goes for 140, 150 with 12 catches and two tuds, I could see Kelsey winning this
- 53:23as well.
- 53:24How about you, Nick?
- 53:25What do you think, man?
- 53:26Well, I'm going to kick it back seven years to a big name who's still around.
- 53:32Do you know who Von Miller is, Mr. Wright?
- 53:35Yeah, well, he was the last defensive player to win it.
- 53:39And I'm predicting a defensive player to win it this year.
- 53:43That's bold.
- 53:44It's a little bold.
- 53:45Kind of going back to my very first prediction, I think Patrick Mahomes throws two interceptions,
- 53:54and I think both go to my boy Slade Jr.
- 53:59Both.
- 54:00So I think the MVP goes to Slade Jr.
- 54:03If it doesn't go to Slade Jr., it goes to somebody in that Philadelphia defense, because
- 54:07I think that's going to be the ultimate determining factor of who wins this Super Bowl.
- 54:14We'll see what I think in my prediction, but until then, I'm wondering what Mr. Kyle has
- 54:22going on in that brain of his.
- 54:24Yeah, I got Jalen Hurts.
- 54:26In my opinion, if the Eagles win, he throws for two touchdowns, no picks, and has 260
- 54:35yards passing.
- 54:36I think that's enough for the MVP award.
- 54:40It's kind of unfortunate that we, I think, in my opinion, that it is a QB award.
- 54:46But I mean, it'd be super cool to see Dallas Goddard get it or someone else, but I just
- 54:53think it's a quarterback award for sure.
- 54:56So I'm picking Jalen Hurts because if the Eagles win, I believe it just starts with
- 55:02Jalen Hurts.
- 55:03All right, fellas, we're here.
- 55:05How is this game going to go?
- 55:07Let's hear the score and your prediction of the winner.
- 55:10Let's start with you, Nick, who's taken Super Bowl 57.
- 55:13Well, if you're asking me, there is going to be at least three to four cars on fire
- 55:23in the city of Philadelphia on February 12th.
- 55:26Why?
- 55:27Because the Eagles have won the Super Bowl, score 28 to 24, Patrick Mahomes throws a last
- 55:36second interception while going for a touchdown to try to beat him.
- 55:42And at that point, Jalen Hurts submits himself as a generational talent, Mr. Wright.
- 55:51So let me let me just go ahead and set the scene up here real quick and transfer it to
- 55:57Mr. Wright, who is literally glaring at me like just I can't wait.
- 56:03What do you got?
- 56:04What do you got over there, Mr. Man?
- 56:07So I agree with the four point game.
- 56:09However, I think the light poles and Casey are going to have to be greased up rather
- 56:13than Pandy Mahomes is taking it home back to the barbecue capital of the states.
- 56:19I have the Chiefs winning this one 31-27.
- 56:22I think Mahomes is just too good.
- 56:25Hurts needs to have a little bit more experience for me to just start believing in that in
- 56:29the Philadelphia team.
- 56:30That defense is freaking incredible.
- 56:33But it's Pandy Mahomes and it's Andy Reid.
- 56:35And I just think that they're going to do it, man.
- 56:38Chiefs 31, Eagles 27.
- 56:42Got to wait for next year, Philly.
- 56:44What you think, Kyle?
- 56:45Who do you got, brother?
- 56:46I got the Eagles winning this one 27-24.
- 56:49I think the Eagles have a better overall roster than the Chiefs.
- 56:54But again, I can't.
- 56:56Patrick Mahomes, he is that generational talent.
- 57:00But I do have the Eagles winning this one.
- 57:03I think Howie Roseman has built something special in Philly.
- 57:07He's done an incredible job drafting all these players and even what the young quarterback
- 57:15like Hurts, but I got the Eagles winning this one.
- 57:18Mikey?
- 57:19Yeah.
- 57:20Kyle, I think you're right.
- 57:22Pretty spot on here with the Eagles winning.
- 57:23I think it's going to be a little bit less of a scoring game with these pretty good defenses
- 57:29here.
- 57:30I have the Eagles winning as well, though, 24.
- 57:33Chiefs 21.
- 57:34It's going to be a close game.
- 57:36I think it's going to be won by a field goal.
- 57:39And that's just how Super Bowls go.
- 57:40They're always super close.
- 57:42They're always last minute.
- 57:43It's always that final second, that final drive.
- 57:46And I think the Eagles are going to come on top.
- 57:48They're the most healthy.
- 57:49They got a defense with the pass defense that just is going to eliminate Mahomes, especially
- 57:55with his ability not to scramble.
- 57:57They know what he's going to be doing and how to contain them.
- 58:02But yeah, I got the Eagles winning.
- 58:04And I agree with Nick.
- 58:05I know I do disagree highly with Nick on the four car estimate.
- 58:10We're probably talking 23 cars plus, probably a loss of life of two to three people and
- 58:16probably damages in the thousands.
- 58:19And yeah, that's what we should expect out of Philly.
- 58:23But let's finish it off here with our final prediction here.
- 58:27Last but not least, Mr. Derek Russo over here.
- 58:32So I'm going to be the only guy that sides with Tyler here and thinks that the Chiefs
- 58:36are going to be Super Bowl 57 champs.
- 58:40Overall, on paper, I do think the Eagles are the better team on paper.
- 58:46Pretty elite defense, excellent offense.
- 58:49They've been dominant all year long.
- 58:51But the Chiefs are used to the Super Bowl stage.
- 58:54They've been here a few times already in recent years.
- 58:57So I think they've got that experience versus the Eagles, a lot of young players who haven't
- 59:03been here.
- 59:04I think maybe that inexperience could come into play.
- 59:07Tight game, totally agree with that.
- 59:09I think it's going to come down to the wire.
- 59:11I think Chiefs pull off a two-minute drive score, go up by four, and then maybe Hertz
- 59:18tries to lead the team to a victory but throws a last-minute pick, kind of torches the game
- 59:24from there.
- 59:25But I'm going to throw in some superstitious facts here.
- 59:29So in case if you guys haven't heard, white jerseys are the advantage in the Super Bowl.
- 59:3515 of the last 18 Super Bowls, teams that have worn white, have won the Super Bowl.
- 59:40And 36 of 56, all-time.
- 59:44Hard to argue with that.
- 59:45It is a superstition.
- 59:47Definitely no sports and nothing scientific about that.
- 59:52But hey, the stats don't lie.
- 59:55Chiefs are wearing white.
- 59:57Gotta go with the superstition there.
- 59:59As far as I'm concerned, I haven't seen any Chiefs fans vandalize the Rocky Statue.
- 1:00:04So they're holding off on that.
- 1:00:07So I think that the Chiefs will prevail in the Super Bowl.
- 1:00:11Well, fellas, I had one heck of a time today and I don't know if we could have kicked this
- 1:00:15podcast off with a better start.
- 1:00:17What better opportunity than we had to talk about this next upcoming Super Bowl?
- 1:00:21I'm looking forward to the Super Bowl.
- 1:00:23I'm looking forward to next week.
- 1:00:24We can recap everything that happened within the Super Bowl and see how exactly we did
- 1:00:28today.
- 1:00:29Until next time, everybody, this has been Banner with the Boys.
