Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Well, hello guys, thank you so much for joining us on World View Matters.
- 0:24So far so good.
- 0:25We appreciate your input and sharing the show on social media and keep getting people
- 0:30to subscribe.
- 0:31I want to start this off with an important scripture that we are going to be talking
- 0:35about, kind of like the foundation for the show today.
- 0:38It is 1 Peter 3, verse 15, sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready
- 0:45to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in
- 0:52you.
- 0:53But do this with gentleness and respect.
- 0:57That's 1 Peter 3, 15.
- 0:59My guest day, wow, this guy's got so much going on, Carl Kirby, he's an author, co-founder
- 1:05of Reasons for Hope, and he was first introduced to apologetics by two pilots.
- 1:11After he told them evolution was compatible with the Bible, which is what he'd been taught
- 1:15in Sunday school, believe it or not.
- 1:17And these men pulled out their Bible and showed Carl that what the world taught and what
- 1:22the word taught are completely different.
- 1:26With 50% to 88% of the younger generation raised in the church, leaving the faith by the
- 1:34age of 18, Carl Kirby's desire is for them to know what they're walking away from.
- 1:40So this can only happen if they're able to critically think and evaluate arguments
- 1:44to determine truth.
- 1:47Carl has two honorary doctorates and a degree in Biblical studies, but his most important
- 1:52credentials would be SSBG-T-F-I-C, which means sinner saved by grace through faith in
- 1:59Christ.
- 2:00Carl Kirby, welcome to World View Matters, brother.
- 2:03David, what a blessing, man, I'm so excited to see you've got this new show.
- 2:07Praise God.
- 2:08Yeah, it's fun.
- 2:09So far, so good.
- 2:10It's been about a month, I think.
- 2:11But hey, I want to mention Reasons for Hope Web, so you've got a lot of resources there
- 2:15are for H, that's the letter R, F-O-R, H dot com.
- 2:20We'll talk about some of the content, including debunked, but you and I are tag teaming.
- 2:25Ah, remember that from your old days, huh?
- 2:28Tag team.
- 2:29You and I are tag teaming on Saturday, October 14 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- 2:34There it is, the men of iron conference.
- 2:38So you guys, men, sorry, ladies, this is for your husbands and for men, you can go to
- 2:43menofironconference.org.
- 2:46Again, it's an all day conference Saturday, October 14.
- 2:50We hope that you get the word out and help us get the word out for this.
- 2:53Carl's coming to town, I'll be there and two other speakers there.
- 2:57It's going to be great.
- 2:58It's going to be a great day with the men, just sharpening one another, but also we're
- 3:02doing a little equipping too.
- 3:04Can I ask you to give a little sneak peek of what you're talking about?
- 3:07Oh, yeah, David, I'm going to be talking about dads.
- 3:10It's time.
- 3:11And it's got to double on tundra there, you know, it's time that we do this, but it's
- 3:16also time.
- 3:17It takes time to pour into our children.
- 3:18And I think probably the most basic concept that I'm going to expound on is the fact that
- 3:24when we proverbs 226, everybody knows that train up a child in the way they should go,
- 3:28right?
- 3:29Well, that verse really is so powerful when you dig into it.
- 3:34And I didn't know this for such a long time, trained up a child in the way they should
- 3:38go.
- 3:39And it's going to be your children so intimately, like what motivated my daughter did not motivate
- 3:43my son, the way that I discipline my daughter had to be totally different than the way that
- 3:48I did my son.
- 3:49We need to know our children so intimately that we can treat them and teach them as individuals
- 3:54and to raise them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
- 3:57You can't do it with a cookie cutter approach.
- 3:59And so we're just going to go through how to be a prophet, how to be a priest, and how
- 4:03to how to really pour in char children from a biblical perspective and to be a godly
- 4:07husband.
- 4:08Amen, brother.
- 4:09Looking forward to that.
- 4:10Again, if you go to the logo for men of iron conference, it's suit up, stand up, speak
- 4:16up.
- 4:17So my portion will be the speak up.
- 4:21Carl, I know if you're like me, you look at our culture and not surprising, the world
- 4:26will do what the world does, unbelievers in the secular world.
- 4:29But the church, when the church does not speak up, we're in a world of hurt and look at
- 4:35our culture around us.
- 4:36Look at the declining biblical world view year after year, decade after decade, barna,
- 4:41pew, gallop, all the polls, all the research.
- 4:44And the church's lack of influence and effectiveness has a lot to do with that.
- 4:48I would love to share your thoughts on that.
- 4:51Well, you know, it's an interesting thing.
- 4:54The three word phrase that they've got for the upcoming conference, ours for the ministry
- 4:59when it comes to our faith, we need to know it, live it, and share it.
- 5:03So they almost directly apply the exactly the same thing.
- 5:07But look, you need to know why you believe what you say you believe, because when you
- 5:11don't know why you believe what you say you believe, you can get tossed to and fro.
- 5:14And I think I read something about that in Ephesians, about people getting tossed to and
- 5:17fro.
- 5:18But check this out, you can have all the answers in the world to be totally worthless
- 5:23in ministry, because if your life doesn't reflect what your lips are saying, it's worthless,
- 5:29it's called hypocrisy, and it's the number one attack against Christianity.
- 5:33But guess what?
- 5:34You can have all the answers.
- 5:35You can live a perfect life and still be worthless in ministry, because if you don't
- 5:37share it, if you don't get out and tell people about Jesus Christ, it's all worthless.
- 5:42I love apologetics, but if apologetics doesn't lead to the preaching of Jesus Christ by
- 5:47whom we are all saved, we've got nothing.
- 5:50And so I'm excited for this three-pronged approach that they're taking.
- 5:53I think it's the most effective way, and I cannot wait to be a part of it.
- 5:57I wonder if that's going to have anything to do with the armor of God.
- 6:01We'll have to wait and see.
- 6:02Or you, you would think.
- 6:03Yeah, men of ironconference.org that's going to be in Green Bay, Wisconsin, October 14th.
- 6:08When you were speaking, I thought of Dietrich Bonhoffer.
- 6:12He was one of the German pastors, about a third of the pastors in Germany during Hitler's
- 6:18time were actually speaking out against what two-thirds of the church was doing.
- 6:22They were folding, they were caving, they were compromising.
- 6:26And going along with the Heil Hitler and everything, and it was just so sad.
- 6:29But Bonhoffer's famous words were silence in the face of evil is itself evil.
- 6:36Not to speak is to speak, not to act is to act.
- 6:40God will not hold us guiltless.
- 6:43And I'll tell you what, those words are powerful enough, but he backed it up.
- 6:49He was acting out.
- 6:50I wouldn't support this today, taken out your leaders, but he was actually involved
- 6:56in some efforts to assassinate Adolf Hitler.
- 6:59Now you can do with that what you will, but he was trying to speak out against the church
- 7:03too, saying, what are you doing by not raising the words for the Jews and for the others
- 7:09that were suffering in the Holocaust?
- 7:11Anyway, Carl, your quick thoughts on that before we move on?
- 7:14Yeah, I tell you what, one of the most powerful books I ever read was by Erwin Lutzert called
- 7:18Hitler's Cross.
- 7:20The parallels between what was taking place during that time with the church, quote unquote,
- 7:26and not being engaged in the culture.
- 7:29It had one point in the book where it said that as the trains were going by carrying the
- 7:33people who were on their way to be being killed, as they were crying out from the train,
- 7:39the churches would sing louder so they didn't hear the cries of the people.
- 7:44Church, we have to wake up, we have to be engaged, we have to be involved.
- 7:48It's not easy.
- 7:49I'm going to say that.
- 7:50I wish I could tell everybody that I lived a perfect life and I was never afraid and
- 7:54I spoke when I was supposed to.
- 7:56I failed just like everybody else.
- 7:57We're all fellow pilgrims on the journey of life.
- 8:00But the body of Christ has got to get united because this world needs to hear what we have
- 8:05and that's true.
- 8:06His name is Jesus, His Word is true and it's trustworthy.
- 8:09Think about that.
- 8:10The Bible, the Word of God, the greatest message, the greatest gift ever to humanity.
- 8:16If it's true, Carl Kirby, why would we keep that to ourselves?
- 8:21If it really is true, if people can really, sincerely be forgiven of all their sins,
- 8:26be saved and live an eternity with Jesus, with fellow believers, there is an eternity
- 8:32and there are two different destinations and I think we've got to be more intentional
- 8:37when it comes to sharing the truth when we're out in public.
- 8:40And I'm looking at and doing this but the three fingers are pointing right back at me
- 8:44because I don't do that enough.
- 8:45I think about the grocery store, the gas station, all these places that I go.
- 8:49Yeah, you can give them a track and you know, anything that will open up a conversation.
- 8:53But I do want to mention your website, Carl, reasons for hope, under who we are, just
- 8:57want to let people know because this is your first time on the show.
- 9:01Reasons for hope, incorporate is an apologetics ministry with a mission to equip believers
- 9:06to fulfill the command found in 1 Peter 315 and that's the scripture we started off today
- 9:12with.
- 9:13So when people ask and hopefully they're going to see your life and notice a difference,
- 9:20they're going to notice Christ and you hopefully they'll ask you, well, with all that's going
- 9:25on, how can you be so, how can you have this faith, how can you believe that?
- 9:29There's your end when they ask you for the reason of your hope, right, Carl?
- 9:34Go on.
- 9:35I just, I just tossed you a softball.
- 9:37No, dude, I'm telling you, you set me up, I'm hopefully I can hit it right.
- 9:41I got to tell you, I use a quote from an atheist and one of my talks, and it's typically
- 9:46the talk that I finish with when I leave somewhere, it's called Evangelism 101, 10 Things
- 9:51I Learned on Evangelism from an atheist.
- 9:53And the atheist is Pendulet and Pendulet, it's an old video, but he's talking about a man
- 9:59who came up and gave him a gift of the Bible.
- 10:01And at one point, Pendulet, atheist, nasty, I mean, about every sixth, seventh word out of
- 10:07his mouth is typically profanity, but in this video, after somebody gave him a Bible,
- 10:11he didn't use profanity once, he says, how much do you have to quote?
- 10:16How much do you have to hate somebody to not tell them the truth?
- 10:21How much do you have to hate somebody to believe in everlasting life and to not share them
- 10:25about it?
- 10:27Share that, share that with him, unquote.
- 10:28And it's like, he goes on to say, look, if I believe that a truck was bearing down on
- 10:34you, it was going to hit you.
- 10:35There comes a point when I will tackle you, and this is much more important than that.
- 10:39So I think what has happened is Satan knows the buttons to push.
- 10:45None of us like to be the weirdos and the goofs.
- 10:48And if you look at culture, Christians are depicted as close-minded, intolerant, bigot
- 10:52and opinionated, and we're all afraid of that stereotype.
- 10:55Well, the time has come enough.
- 10:57Get over it.
- 10:58You are different.
- 10:59You are an alien.
- 11:00And I'm not talking about extraterrestrial life.
- 11:03I'm talking about this world as not our home.
- 11:05As long as we preach Jesus, we are going to be different, but you're standing in good
- 11:08company.
- 11:09You're standing with the one who died for you.
- 11:11The ones that can mock and ridicule you, they got nothing.
- 11:14But the ones who died for us, he deserves our focus and our attention.
- 11:17Amen.
- 11:18And it's prophetic.
- 11:19Mockers will come in the last days.
- 11:21Peter wrote about it.
- 11:22And by the way, we must obey God rather than men.
- 11:25That's in there, too, in the book of Acts.
- 11:27We're going to take a break in a few minutes, come back and talk about, did Jesus commit suicide?
- 11:31It's a book from Reasons for Hope and 27 other questions that teenagers are asking.
- 11:36But I've got a quick video clip, Carl, I want to play this and come back and we'll talk
- 11:40about it.
- 11:41This is from Reasons for Hope.
- 11:42Hey, Christian, you're a bigot.
- 11:46Why can't you just let people love who they want to love, huh?
- 11:49Do you realize that it's your beliefs that are causing people so much pain?
- 11:52You're a fool.
- 11:53I mean, show me your God.
- 11:54Where did he come from?
- 11:55Who made him?
- 11:56Ever heard of something called science?
- 11:58And if he's so good, why all the evil, the rape, the murder, the genocide, oh, you don't
- 12:02know, do you?
- 12:03Well, there you go.
- 12:04You're going to quote me some old English from a book that you don't even understand.
- 12:08Do you know how many contradictions are in the Bible?
- 12:10Do you really think it hasn't changed over the years?
- 12:12It's a man-made book.
- 12:14Explain to me cavemen, dinosaurs, evolution.
- 12:17Explain to me how all the races of the world came from just two people.
- 12:20Oh, yeah, there you go.
- 12:21You're telling me that you figured out the meaning of life at your age.
- 12:25I'm giving one good reason why I should believe what you believe.
- 12:42Today's show is brought to you by Harbinger's Daily.
- 12:45The world news biblically understood, stay informed at harbingersdaily.com.
- 12:59Our guest today is Carl Kirby from Reasons for Hope.
- 13:04And you saw that little video clip there just with so many questions that people have.
- 13:10And we'd better be ready, Carl.
- 13:12We'd better be ready to say, hey, there's a guy that won a homecoming queen pageant, I
- 13:18guess, out of football field, football game, a male was crowned with 14-age girls around
- 13:25him going, oh, hey, they're celebrating with him.
- 13:27We'd better be able to explain.
- 13:29Look at that.
- 13:30What's wrong with this picture?
- 13:32Now, I want to focus on the top right one real quick because this is gender.
- 13:37This goes back to rejecting the creation of God, the image of God in man.
- 13:42But he won the contest.
- 13:43He, his name is Tristan Young, I believe.
- 13:46Those four girls, that's him right there.
- 13:48Those four girls, two on each side of him, I'm wondering, do they just have to grin and
- 13:56bear it, Carl Kirby, because they're going to be called, let's just say one of them
- 14:00are Christian.
- 14:01They're called haters, intolerant, or whatever, anti-trans, transphobic, because they're
- 14:07not affirming and supporting this delusion, because we know this is not God's created
- 14:14order.
- 14:15So share your thoughts on that.
- 14:16That's a big question a lot of people have today.
- 14:18How do you respond to that?
- 14:20You know, it's such a sad one, too, because we don't want to come off attacking.
- 14:24My heart breaks for this young man, and he is a man, I'm sorry, there's no other way
- 14:28to put it.
- 14:29And so my heart breaks for him that he is suffering this confusion.
- 14:33Reality is this, is that love does not, true love does not pat somebody on the back,
- 14:37and tell them, okay, when they're living a life that is going to separate them from
- 14:41a holy God for all eternity, true love is willing to look someone in the eye and say
- 14:45to them, look, you're free to do what you're doing right here, but there are consequences
- 14:49to your actions.
- 14:50And I love you enough to tell you that this is going to separate you from God.
- 14:54We have gotten into a stage now where we have a generation that's been trained to not
- 14:59share.
- 15:00I was just watching some of our interviews that we did with young people that went to
- 15:04our equip retreats that we run in the summer months.
- 15:06We hold about five camps here that we run.
- 15:09We speak a bunch others.
- 15:11And the comments that were coming back from these kids were the fact that you take on
- 15:14the tough topics and you're not afraid or ashamed to do it.
- 15:17And it's almost like taboo that we talk about these things.
- 15:20Christian, we have to talk about these things.
- 15:23What is being done there is truly child abuse.
- 15:26We hear the claims that Christians are abusing their children because we're teaching them
- 15:30to love a God.
- 15:31Well, guess what?
- 15:33When we do this to someone and reaffirm a lifestyle that is going to destroy them for
- 15:38all eternity, we're going to suffer the consequences from that.
- 15:42We have to speak the truth and love.
- 15:44Oh, my goodness.
- 15:46What you said just thinking that we are affirming this and a lot of people have just jumped
- 15:51on the bandwagon because they don't, they want to appear, Carl, compassionate.
- 15:56We care, but we understand we, the veil's been removed if you're a Bible believe in Christian.
- 16:01We know we're discerning.
- 16:02We know what's going on.
- 16:04And we're seeing right into this.
- 16:05It is evil being called good.
- 16:07Yes.
- 16:08Yes.
- 16:09Absolutely.
- 16:10And think about that.
- 16:11Truly caring.
- 16:12I mean, this is a hard concept.
- 16:15Truly caring is not going to love wrong action that has eternal consequences.
- 16:22True love is going to be willing to just look, there's consequences.
- 16:26You have to know that because I don't want to see you separated from a holy God for all
- 16:31eternity.
- 16:32If we can really grasp the fact that we, we believe what the book in front of us says,
- 16:39we believe what the word of God says that there are consequences, eternal consequences
- 16:43of heaven and hell.
- 16:44I think it would really change our approach to dealing with some of these types of issues
- 16:49because we can't be passive on it.
- 16:52It's just not possible if you truly love someone.
- 16:55Amen.
- 16:56Amen.
- 16:57Friends, we just have to be more discerning when people be led by the Holy Spirit.
- 17:01There's a lot of people that are hurting all around us.
- 17:04And some of them, they don't know they're looking for answers.
- 17:07Some of them, some of them are searching.
- 17:09But boy, we just got to be out there and be able to share the truth.
- 17:13That brings me to the book, Teenagers, Carl, I spoke at a Christian camp a couple times
- 17:21and a few years ago.
- 17:22And after the Saturday night session, I had a Q&A.
- 17:27The main topics were these sex issues, LGBTQ issues.
- 17:33And then it was over.
- 17:34They could go do whatever they wanted for fun.
- 17:36There was a campfire and other activities.
- 17:37And I was in there, a line of students stayed to talk to me.
- 17:43And the main question was about this transgender ideology.
- 17:48More often than not, they said, I have a friend who dot, dot, dot.
- 17:52So I'm going over to your book, did Jesus commit suicide in 27 other questions?
- 17:57And one of them in the book right there, why does God create homosexuals and then condemn
- 18:05them?
- 18:06Let's speak to that one briefly.
- 18:09Yeah, man.
- 18:10You got to get one on here.
- 18:11One's the one that wrote that chapter and have him expound deeper into it.
- 18:16This is a big issue is that we are attributing to God what he did not do.
- 18:22Why would God create someone homosexual?
- 18:24It's a wrong premise.
- 18:25It's a wrong premise.
- 18:26It's like, when people ask questions, by the way, David, the way that book comes up came
- 18:33about is that when we're at camps, I hand out index cards.
- 18:36All of our speakers hand out index cards on day one to the students, say, right down
- 18:40the questions, keeping you from selling out for the Lord Jesus Christ, turn them in.
- 18:44And that's what we deal with.
- 18:45And so that's one of the questions that came in.
- 18:47And the title, by the way, did Jesus commit suicide 20 minutes into a Q&A in Himit, California.
- 18:52I'm pulling the questions because we don't duck and dodge.
- 18:55We don't duck and dodge.
- 18:56We pull them and go.
- 18:57If suicide is a thing, didn't Jesus send because he committed suicide?
- 19:01Like, again, wrong premise.
- 19:03He didn't.
- 19:04And so we have to take the questions to come in and deal with them appropriately.
- 19:09Jesus did not create anybody as a homosexual and then condemn them.
- 19:14We're condemned because we make decisions and reject what God has given to us.
- 19:19We all have propensities.
- 19:20We all have desires.
- 19:22And my desires, if I let them run my life, will lead me apart from God.
- 19:26And so I try to break it down.
- 19:28Sexual sin to sexual sin.
- 19:30We're not gay haters.
- 19:31We're not transgender haters.
- 19:33We are sex outside of the bounds of biblical marriage haters because that is what's going
- 19:38to separate you from God.
- 19:40It's a bond that God has illustrated for us and the relationship that we have with
- 19:45Him.
- 19:46It's a marriage.
- 19:47And when we defile that, it's going to defile that relationship that we have with God
- 19:51as well.
- 19:52There's a lot of great questions in here.
- 19:54So you're saying in this book, did Jesus commit suicide?
- 19:57These are all questions that came in from teenagers?
- 20:00Yeah, it's all teens at the camps.
- 20:03That's great.
- 20:04Volume 2 is getting ready to release and we got a Christmas edition coming out starting
- 20:10probably in November.
- 20:11So it's exciting.
- 20:13These are all questions that they're bringing to us.
- 20:14We're not making them up.
- 20:16That's great.
- 20:17So reasons for hope and that's this one's over at get debunked.org.
- 20:21Where else can people get your books, Carl?
- 20:24You can get it on Amazon.
- 20:27Our website are for age and by the way, here's something else, David, that website that
- 20:33you advertise, I'm sorry, RFORH.
- 20:38If you search those five letters on your app store, you can download our app that's
- 20:43totally free and there's hours and I am not exaggerating hours of free video on there
- 20:48as well.
- 20:50You brought up that statistic of 50 to 88% of the younger generation walking away from
- 20:54the Lord Jesus Christ who have been raised in the church.
- 20:57We took that on and said, let's flip it.
- 21:00That means we're saving 12 to 50%.
- 21:02What's happening in the homes of that 12 to 50% so that we can learn from it to maybe
- 21:08increase that number and decrease the ones that are walking away?
- 21:11We did a documentary and if you download the app and scroll down and you'll see a picture
- 21:16in my picture there is good for keeping mice out of the pantry as well, but you hit that
- 21:21and scroll down to the bottom, it'll have a tab on there for within our reach.
- 21:26Watch that documentary is totally free and there's so much content on there to help parents
- 21:31especially to train up their children.
- 21:35Okay, we have a little bit more to talk about with Carl Kirby, but we do have another
- 21:38video, quick video and I think we got this off of your site.
- 21:41Go ahead and play that one, we'll talk about it.
- 21:46What I'm about to tell you is awful, but it's the truth.
- 21:50Only 41% of senior pastors in America hold to a Biblical worldview, it gets worse.
- 21:56Only 28% of associate pastors have a genuine Biblical worldview.
- 22:00Only 13% of teaching pastors and only 12% of youth pastors.
- 22:04Did you hear that last one?
- 22:05That means 88% of so-called youth pastors who are teaching the next generation do not
- 22:10believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God.
- 22:15No wonder so many churches have lost their respect.
- 22:18No wonder America is in the state that it says, this has to change.
- 22:22We need Godly teachers who will speak the truth no matter what.
- 22:27And that's we have Carl Kirby on the show, that's why we interview some of the great
- 22:31people we get to talk to about this because Carl, you know, you hear those stats and it's
- 22:37mind-boggling that we're talking about church leaders and pastors, not the layperson,
- 22:43I mean, especially youth pastors.
- 22:47Let's talk about that for a minute because a lot of people listening are, you know,
- 22:51homeschooling families, but there are also people that have kids, possibly in youth groups.
- 22:55When I was going through church, when I was growing up, the youth pastor, it seems like
- 22:59his role was just to entertain the kids and keep them occupied.
- 23:02That's not going to help them when they get out into the world, but now it's about entertainment.
- 23:07No wonder only 12 or 13% of youth pastors have a biblical world view, I'd love for you
- 23:14to speak to that.
- 23:16I mean, flesh it out.
- 23:17I get invited to go to a church of like 30,000, right?
- 23:21They call me up and say, we want you to come and do two 10-minute power messages and
- 23:24I'm like, what's a 10-minute power message?
- 23:26Well, we do it every week, 20 minutes of ping pong, flusable popcorn, 20 minutes of worship,
- 23:3110-minute power message, five minutes of prayer, then we send them out.
- 23:34And I said, well, no, thank you.
- 23:35They're like, what do you mean, no, thank you?
- 23:36We're church of 30,000, I'm like, I'm long-winded, I can't tell you my name in 10 minutes.
- 23:40So they ended up, they capitulated, they gave me 30 minutes, I took 35 because I knew
- 23:44they were never going to invite me back.
- 23:46And at the end of that 35-minute message, that room emptied faster than I've ever seen
- 23:50in my life.
- 23:52They ran next door, this church had two sanctuaries of a thousand that held a thousand
- 23:56each just for the youth.
- 23:58That wasn't the main sanctuary.
- 24:00They had a main room with everything under the sun, skateboard ramps, the big 20-foot
- 24:04things where they're flying up in there and all that.
- 24:06Those kids after the first session ran next door, got all the kids off the video games,
- 24:10got them off the skateboard ramp, brought them in and they're like, they were blown out
- 24:14of the water.
- 24:15Youth pastor came to me afterwards and said, how did you do that?
- 24:17And I was like, how did I do what?
- 24:18They sat for 35 minutes, they won't sit for 10-minute power message.
- 24:22And I said, I don't think it's me, I think it's the fact that these kids are sick of
- 24:26man-be-pambi, they want something that's real.
- 24:29We've got to bring things to them because they are under attack.
- 24:32This culture doesn't play fair, Satan is mean, he's nasty and he's not being nice and
- 24:37if you don't prepare them to go into this world, we're done.
- 24:40And parents don't abdicate your responsibility to a youth pastor to do that.
- 24:44That's your job.
- 24:45You can do it.
- 24:46I want to encourage you.
- 24:47I'm not attacking you.
- 24:48You can do it if a youth pastor can help you in that great.
- 24:52But if it's one of the 12 percent, you need to get out of that.
- 24:56Yeah.
- 24:57Gosh, thank you for sharing that.
- 24:58I can't believe it.
- 24:59We'll bring you in for 10 minutes.
- 25:02And then the time limit, I mean, show me the BCV book chapter in verse on time limits
- 25:07for sermons.
- 25:08I don't think Paul, when he was preaching in Athens and any other places, I'm sorry guys,
- 25:13I'm on the clock.
- 25:14We've got to cut the last half of this out.
- 25:16No, that's not biblical.
- 25:18But here we are in American Christianity where it's often worship attainment, worship
- 25:23and entertainment and, oh, Carl, we can laugh about it a little bit.
- 25:27But if it grieves our hearts as Bible believing Christians that know people are hungry
- 25:35for God's word and they need the truth, what must God be looking down and thinking what
- 25:41has happened to America?
- 25:43We have, man, we've gone the wrong direction.
- 25:45I know you have more thoughts on that.
- 25:46Go ahead.
- 25:47Well, let's flip it and say parents, I want you to be the hero to your child.
- 25:51You can do it.
- 25:52I want to encourage you.
- 25:53Please do not take what I've said as an attack on you.
- 25:56Your child is in one of these youth groups and you step up and you start getting more
- 26:00active and engaged.
- 26:01How do I do it?
- 26:02There are so many tools in our day now.
- 26:05There is no excuse for not getting involved in helping to teach your children.
- 26:09If you download the app and use all that on there, okay, don't use our stuff.
- 26:13Go and do some search.
- 26:15There's plenty of good resources.
- 26:17Tune in and watch a podcast like this with your children.
- 26:21Pointly, talking about those things, but you can do it.
- 26:23I want to encourage you and not discourage you.
- 26:27Be involved and be the hero to your child.
- 26:31Thank you.
- 26:32Thank you.
- 26:33We talked about some heavy stuff.
- 26:34I appreciate that encouragement, the positive encouragement to parents at the end.
- 26:39We need it.
- 26:40The average Christian needs it because of what we're facing out there in our society.
- 26:43Evil being called good.
- 26:45But you have a ministry where you've got resources because people need to know how to respond.
- 26:51Carl, I want to just remind people again of the men of Iron Conference, menofiron.org.
- 26:57Guys, Carl's going to be there.
- 26:59He's speaking.
- 27:00I'll be there.
- 27:01I'm speaking David Roth and one other gentleman.
- 27:04It's going to be for men.
- 27:05It's going to be a great day, October 14, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
- 27:10Go to menofironconference.org and they have also got a Facebook event page that you can
- 27:16share with your friends.
- 27:18So men, we're going to try to encourage you to suit up, stand up and speak up.
- 27:23Carl, I appreciate your role that you're playing in this and just your voice.
- 27:27Thank you for all you do and we will have you on again, Lord willing.
- 27:31God bless your brother.
- 27:33Thank you, David.
- 27:34All right.
- 27:35Appreciate your time.
- 27:36So tomorrow, guys, we've got Dr. Duke Pesta, Freedom Project and men.
- 27:41We are going to talk about the dangers of DEI.
- 27:47There are Marxist roots of diversity, equity and inclusion.
- 27:52It's more than a movement at this point.
- 27:54If you look at education and the university system, Dr. Duke Pesta tomorrow on World View
- 27:59Matters.
- 28:00Thank you, guys, again for sharing.
- 28:01We appreciate your prayers and support.
- 28:03And as always, God bless you and keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
