- 0:00The Mets lose their star player. They lose their star closer.
- 0:04The Mets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:12I've never seen a Ranger team quick before the Olympics.
- 0:15We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:20I played 82 games. You don't see the one doing
- 0:23that, but Jack Hughes did. After getting his team knocked
- 0:25down to play every single shift, he got back in the game.

- 2:24com. Concrete Jungle.
- 2:26Let's hit it. Welcome.
- 2:28To the jungle we got. Fun and games.
- 2:35Welcome. I'm trying to put Tiger Bomb on
- 2:37this jungle's nuts. To the concrete jungle carousel.
- 2:49All right, ladies and gentlemen, let's go.
- 2:52Here it is concrete jungle carousel.
- 2:54Speedy put on the music up in stream yard if you can not
- 2:59through the back through the stream yard.
- 3:02We talked about it here it is Knicks Nets concrete jungle
- 3:05carousel. We've got it going right here
- 3:09with the Knicks. We got a few rumors.
- 3:12Thank you. Very good.
- 3:14Kendrick Perkins. Remember the leader of those
- 3:18Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook teams back in
- 3:22those days? According to him, Let's get this
- 3:25music just a little bit lower. Thank you very much.
- 3:28He says that Jalen Brunson would be the greatest nick of all time
- 3:32if they win a title. That is a fascinating statement.
- 3:37Who said that? Kendrick Perkins, just a couple
- 3:41of more Shaq believes believes they're going to breeze past
- 3:46whoever they face in a sweep. And Kenny Smith and Charles
- 3:49think it won't be a Kate walk. But the biggest thing is OG and
- 3:53Ananobi is participating in a limited fashion and practice is
- 3:58optimistic he'll be ready for game one.
- 4:00But again, we don't know when that will be.
- 4:02If it's only six games between the Cavs and Pistons, meaning
- 4:06the Cavs win in six, that in a tomorrow night's game it'll be
- 4:09Sunday. But if it's a 7 game series,
- 4:12that series will start on Tuesday, giving OG a little more
- 4:16rest. What do you think about that
- 4:17statement by Perkins? First of all, I love I, I, I
- 4:20don't love Kendrick Perkins, but I, I like how he is a Knick fan
- 4:24and he's rooting for the Knicks and he's, he's got the Knicks
- 4:27going all the way to the Finals. He had the Knicks going to the
- 4:29Finals before the playoffs started.
- 4:31So I like that about Kendrick Perkins, but I'm not going to
- 4:33take his his advice on what the Knicks are going to be or if the
- 4:39Knicks win a championship. Jalen Brunson.
- 4:41Brunson goes down as the greatest basketball player or
- 4:43the greatest nick of all time. He's not.
- 4:46There's a lot of great Knicks. Patrick Ewing was a great nick.
- 4:49He was also on a team that didn't have another superstar.
- 4:52If you go back and you look at those Nick teams, there was
- 4:55never another superstar. John Starks wasn't a superstar.
- 4:57Xavier McDaniel wasn't a superstar.
- 4:59Anthony Mason was a good player, he wasn't a superstar.
- 5:01Charles Oakley wasn't a superstar.
- 5:03There was no superstars on those 90 teams but Patrick Ewing.
- 5:07Then we go to the 99 season when they had Sprewell.
- 5:10Patrick Ewing was at the tail end of his career.
- 5:13He wasn't the same player. He was hurt you.
- 5:15You had Larry Johnson, you had Alan Houston, but it wasn't the
- 5:18same Patrick Ewing. When Patrick Ewing was at the
- 5:21top end of his game, they never had another superstar.
- 5:24Could you imagine if, let's say, I don't know, Patrick Ewing had
- 5:30Shaquille O'Neal playing with him?
- 5:31I'm just giving him Anthony Hardaway.
- 5:34Anthony Hardaway playing with him.
- 5:35Anybody I can, I can't name anybody.
- 5:37He had Kobe Bryant playing with him, Michael Jordan playing with
- 5:40him, Scottie Pippen playing with him.
- 5:41Does he win a championship? He does.
- 5:44So I just gave you names. Elijah Wan, anybody playing with
- 5:47Patrick Ewing, they win a championship.
- 5:50You shake your head. If you had Patrick, you and
- 5:52Elijah on on the same team in those days, two pigs like that
- 5:57forget. It.
- 5:58Forget it, forget it. I disagree with you, I mean.
- 6:02Who they going to be? Will Chamberlain play with
- 6:05Kareem a Joel Jabbar? Did he not?
- 6:07He did. So to say that you can't win
- 6:10with those two players, you absolutely can at the top end of
- 6:13their game. So.
- 6:15I'm just saying Charles Barkley, any one of those guys, if he had
- 6:19any one of those guys, he wins the championship.
- 6:21Now, as far as the Knicks winning against the Cavs or
- 6:25Detroit, the Knicks match up better against the Cavs than
- 6:29they do with Detroit. Detroit plays aggressive.
- 6:32The Knicks don't like that aggressive game.
- 6:34And it it it's a it's been a big problem all season long.
- 6:37Now, that doesn't mean that Knicks can't beat Detroit and
- 6:39can't beat them in six or five games.
- 6:41They can. But I'd rather play the
- 6:43Cavaliers because the Cavaliers are all offense and they don't
- 6:47play enough defense when it goes up and down the court when
- 6:50they're playing at full speed. James Harden don't play defense.
- 6:53He don't, and half of the other guards that are on this team
- 6:57don't play defense. Donna Donovan Mitchell does.
- 7:00He is the only guard on this team that plays defense.
- 7:03So I I think the Knicks win no matter who they play in the
- 7:06Eastern Conference Finals. It only scares me that they've
- 7:09been sitting out and just hanging out over the last couple
- 7:14of days. You don't want to go into a game
- 7:16or into a series called. That's the only thing that
- 7:18worries me. OG and a no be healthy.
- 7:21Not surprised. I think OG will be 100% when
- 7:24when the series starts. So I I think the Knicks win in
- 7:27five or six games against whoever they play.
- 7:30Yeah, the way the Pistons have been playing recently, like you
- 7:32could definitely look at a case of the Knicks really prepping
- 7:35well, especially with Duran struggling as much as he has.
- 7:38Mitchell Robinson, who played very well in the last series,
- 7:40could definitely get more comfortable.
- 7:41And obviously Carl Anthony Towns, if you get Duran in foul
- 7:43trouble like he's been doing, could it definitely make a
- 7:46difference? And OG and nobody gets a lot
- 7:47more time to heal. That's going to help them if
- 7:48they have to play the Cavs with Donovan Mitchell or the Pistons
- 7:51with Kate Cunningham because they didn't have Kate, they
- 7:53didn't have OG guard Cade as much last year as they probably
- 7:56should have. They made the adjustment later
- 7:57in the series. Remember, Cunningham has a
- 7:59couple 30 point games against the Knicks when they played last
- 8:01year. So I think that will help a lot
- 8:03more. And I think the rest, it's
- 8:05always going to help them more. I think it hurts more in hockey.
- 8:07It's kind of neutral in baseball.
- 8:08But I think in this kind of case with basketball, especially with
- 8:10the way they're managing Robinson too, I think it's good.
- 8:12Detroit don't have any secondary scoring.
- 8:14That's why I think the Knicks are going to be so much better
- 8:16in a playoff game because the Knicks have multiple scorers
- 8:20that can put the ball in the net.
- 8:21And that's why I think they, whoever they play against now,
- 8:24they do the Cavaliers do. They have James Harden, They've
- 8:28got guys. They've got guys that are
- 8:29secondary. Knick, Keller, Max Strouser a
- 8:31few years. Ago.
- 8:33So they do. But I here's the problem.
- 8:36We've seen the Cavs, they completely, for some reason,
- 8:39don't play defense in certain quarters and they let teams
- 8:43score 3940 points. They do that against the Knicks.
- 8:46The Knicks are going to blow them out.
- 8:47Yeah, blow them out. Yeah, I, I think that the Knicks
- 8:51are doing a good job up until this point.
- 8:53I think they don't match up well with Cleveland.
- 8:55I know I'm gonna get a lot of kickback in regards to that, but
- 8:58I do think that being an Obi is coming off of a hamstring
- 9:02injury, I don't think he comes back the same type of player.
- 9:05So that with Jared Allen and Evan Mobley being able to use
- 9:09their lid versus Cat and Obi, I think that that that gives New
- 9:14York problems. It'll be interesting to see New
- 9:18York has been prideful about the defense that they have played.
- 9:22I think it's about one or two players that actually truly play
- 9:25defense. But I think it would be a high
- 9:27school in Eastern Conference finals.
- 9:29I don't think Detroit overcome this.
- 9:31I do think that ticket to a Game 7 just because I think Cage is
- 9:34going to give all he has for a game since and then he's going
- 9:37to, you know, wear out and tower during Game 7.
- 9:41He don't really have that efficient top scorer.
- 9:44Like I said before in the last take, Tobias Harris going to
- 9:46give you about 15 to 20. You know, and that's not going
- 9:50to necessarily be enough all the time.
- 9:51You're going to need some extra support when you got, you know,
- 9:54Donovan Mitchell going for 45 and James Harden going for 30.
- 9:58You know, every mobile going anywhere between 15 to 20.
- 10:01Like that's a lot of points for you to make up with when you
- 10:04only got one player scored 40, then another was going like 15
- 10:07to 20. Just so you know, go.
- 10:09Just so you know, you mentioned all the bigs on the couch,
- 10:11Cavaliers. Go look at Mitch Robinson's
- 10:14numbers. Go look at his numbers against
- 10:16the Cavaliers. In bolts I like to stay in real
- 10:18time. Go look.
- 10:19Go look at Mitch Robinson. Go look at what Mitch Robinson
- 10:22has done to the Cavaliers in the playoffs.
- 10:25Then come back to me. Then come back to me.
- 10:27Then come back to me. Come back to.
- 10:28Me after that deep threat with. Stress.
- 10:30And I got news for you. I got news for you.
- 10:33I told you. I told you about Mikhail Bridges
- 10:36in the 76ers series, and I'm telling you about Mitch.
- 10:38Robinson in this series came when y'all was up just telling
- 10:40you. Just tell you.
- 10:42About Mitch Robertson. Mitch Robertson.
- 10:45Mitch Robertson is going to be one of the killers if they play
- 10:48the Cavaliers. Remember I said that?
- 10:50Yeah, remember, I said. That first, you said the same
- 10:51thing about the Cavaliers. OK, just what he did, yeah.
- 10:54But anyway. Let's move on to say.
- 10:56That hold on, hold on. I would say that the Cleveland
- 10:59Cavaliers were probably not the New York Knicks out in the
- 11:04Eastern Conference. You'll be wrong on that one.
- 11:06I'm sure I will not. Let's move on to the Nets.
- 11:10The Nets got six pick after the the lottery balanced out.
- 11:16Here are the names that we're expecting to see around six.
- 11:20Darius Acuff junior Keaton Waggler might be there.
- 11:25Kingston Flemings one of your favorites.
- 11:28Errol if you're the Nets they got you know Dem in seemed like
- 11:32of those five rookies they drafted previously, he seems
- 11:36like he's might be able to be a player in the league.
- 11:38They look like they need to get a play making guard to put with
- 11:40him though at the very least. It's, it's Darius.
- 11:43A cuff is going to be there. If he's there, unless some team
- 11:46jumps up and tries to steal him away at a #5-A cuff will be the
- 11:51guy for the Nets. He is going to be your future
- 11:53guard, your future point guard. He can score, He can do
- 11:56everything. He reminds me of a Damian
- 11:59Lillard, That's who He reminds me of the guy that the pick that
- 12:02they traded away, that eventually he went to the Trail
- 12:05Blazers and the Trail Blazers drafted him.
- 12:08So they have a spot right now and they have a place where they
- 12:11can draft the guy that they let go years and years ago, which
- 12:15became Damian Lillard. So I think it's Darius Acuff.
- 12:18It's absolutely Arkansas. This guy's got a tremendous
- 12:22offensive game. He also could play defense, not
- 12:25at a high level, but he can work on that over there with
- 12:28Brooklyn. And I think he's a slam dunk for
- 12:30the Brooklyn Nets. Yeah, Acuff is definitely the
- 12:32pick. I would go in that cluster of
- 12:33guards. Waggler, he's a good shooter.
- 12:35He's got a good stroke from the outside.
- 12:36I got a. Deep the name Waggler just
- 12:38scares the hell out of. Him he is not as good of a
- 12:40defender though I think as Acuff as even Acuff being undersized a
- 12:43little bit and him with Calipari learning in that system are you?
- 12:46Going to trust the guy from Illinois.
- 12:48I know I, I, I like, I like Waggler too.
- 12:50I just don't think he's as ready as Acuff is right now.
- 12:52I don't trust him. I think he's a good shot
- 12:54creator, but I think he's more limited in terms of his in terms
- 12:57of his creation play making wise compared to Acuff.
- 13:00I like them both right now more than I like Flemings.
- 13:02Fleming's the better defensive garbet.
- 13:04Like Dan Purcell was saying, his offensive game is still not as
- 13:06developed yet and I don't trust the Nets coaching actually make
- 13:08that work. Yeah, But I agree, I think a
- 13:10cuff is probably the best pick out of the out of the kid in
- 13:13that's left obviously out of the top top five.
- 13:16So I think they pick a cuff. I think he would be the best fit
- 13:19with him and Nick Caston can do a little high pick and roll and
- 13:22kind of create some momentum off of that.
- 13:24And then obviously they would have to get into free agency and
- 13:26kind of get some type of role player or some type of efficient
- 13:30scores or 3D guy on the other side of the draft.
- 13:33So yeah, I would say a Cup party is the better pick for this next
- 13:37election in the NBA draft. The Yankees called up Anthony
- 13:40Volpe from AAA after Caballero went down with a broken finger,
- 13:46so he's not playing right now. Volpe will get most of his
- 13:49playing time at short and of course, he had an error in his
- 13:52first game at the position. Back in the big leagues, Max
- 13:56Freed left Wednesday's start after three innings and 61
- 14:01pitches with a sore pitching elbow.
- 14:03They're saying it's the back of the elbow, not the Tommy John
- 14:06part of the elbow. So they don't think it's a Tommy
- 14:09John UCL related injury, but we'll find out later tonight or
- 14:14early tomorrow because they should be getting MRI results
- 14:18done today for free. Not what they want to hear.
- 14:21The Yankees have lost five out of their last six after being
- 14:25swept by the Brewers and now losing two of three to the
- 14:28Orioles. There's 2 1/2 games back of the
- 14:30race. You can hit walls.
- 14:32This is baseball. There's 162 games.
- 14:34The Yankees were playing at a high level.
- 14:36They won nine games in a row, and you knew they were going to
- 14:39hit a wall. So for all the fans out there,
- 14:41and you want to blame Volpe on the reason why the Yankees are
- 14:44in a slump, it has nothing to do with Volpe.
- 14:47OK, Yeah, he made an error. That's fine.
- 14:49He just came back to the majors. He just came off of a bad
- 14:52injury. He played all season long with
- 14:55that injury. I'm not going to attack Volpe
- 14:58until we figure out in 2025 games if the guy can hit.
- 15:01I think he's going to be fine. I think he's still a good
- 15:03defensive player. As far as the Yankees are
- 15:05concerned, they got the pitching and they've got an AGM that's
- 15:10going to make moves at the trade deadline no matter what.
- 15:12If they need a a batter, they need a hitter, they need a
- 15:17pitcher, a bullpen arm, they're going to make those moves first.
- 15:19So Yankee fans, calm down. The Yankees will go on another
- 15:23eight game-winning streak and I don't trust Tampa.
- 15:26As good as they have played all season long.
- 15:28They got a good coach, they got a good manager and they're a
- 15:31smart organization. They don't really have big name
- 15:35superstars. They don't.
- 15:36They have good young players, but not guys that are going to
- 15:39continue to play at this level. I think eventually they're going
- 15:42to tip and the Yankees are going to jump them.
- 15:44Yeah, the Yankees ran into a Brewers team that fish you were
- 15:47talking about, like how many mediocre American League teams
- 15:49there were last time we did inside baseball.
- 15:51The Brewers were also one of those teams that were record
- 15:54wise mediocre, but they had a really good run differential in
- 15:56the National League that got meeting up alive.
- 15:57So they were due for some good luck.
- 15:58The Yankees were due to regress a little.
- 16:00It just happens. It's the way it happens.
- 16:01Max Friedy would hope is an encouraging sign that you said
- 16:04at the back of the arm because he had some injury issues
- 16:06towards the end of his career with the Braves, was healthier
- 16:09kind of early in his career and he's been, besides the blister
- 16:12issues last year, good with the Yankees so far.
- 16:14As far as Volpe, yeah, you don't really have another choice at
- 16:16this point with Caballero down. You didn't want to have to make
- 16:18another guy play out of position either like Ryan McMahon or Jazz
- 16:22Jism, who wasn't a great defender anyway.
- 16:23And you don't have to worry about this division because the
- 16:26Orioles, even though they're playing decent baseball, they're
- 16:28five and five in the last 10 games.
- 16:30The Blue Jays stink right now. They're not 18 to 24.
- 16:33They've 3 for 7/3 and seven in the last 10 games.
- 16:37And the Red Sox are five and five in the last 10 games and
- 16:40they stink 218 to 24. The Yankees could go into a
- 16:43little bit of slump and then pick up their game.
- 16:45And the Yankees schedule is going to get easier in the next
- 16:48two weeks. So watch the Yankees will go on
- 16:50a 7 or 8 game-winning streak and watch out.
- 16:52The Yankees will be back to where everybody thinks they're
- 16:55going to be. They're going to be the best
- 16:56team in the American League. They're going to have the best
- 16:58pitch in the in the American League.
- 17:00They got two guys right now that are going to be up for a Cy
- 17:03Young and young guys. We'll see if they can continue
- 17:06playing that way. They've Garrett Cole coming
- 17:08back, Rodon who's back. I mean, this team is going to be
- 17:12fine. And if Freak comes back at the
- 17:14end of the year and makes the wrong with the Yankees, you're
- 17:16golden. Stop complaining.
- 17:18Stop bitching, Yankee fans. Yeah, I, I think that, you know,
- 17:22at the end of the day, they have to take care of themselves.
- 17:24I think there's an injury bug. You know, we'll talk a little
- 17:27bit later about my mess, but there's an injury bug flying
- 17:30around in New York and, you know, they're just getting the
- 17:32short end of it. I'm not necessarily concerned
- 17:34about the Yankees, but I do think that this board upon more
- 17:37oil sweep was definitely a bad look and definitely something to
- 17:40complain about. But hopefully, you know, they
- 17:42can get back healthy. And obviously pitching has been
- 17:45doing well in regards to keeping us alive overall.
- 17:49But yeah, I think that they just got to stay healthy and
- 17:51everything else to play except like you said, they used to kind
- 17:54of in their hands and they're going to go as far and it's
- 17:56going to go as far as they go. But for the most part, I just
- 17:59think they just took some bad losses, especially this last one
- 18:01versus Baltimore with A7 O round.
- 18:03That's just not. You cannot the, the, the one guy
- 18:06you cannot lose for the season is Aaron Judge.
- 18:08If Aaron Judge is healthy and he's in the lineup, they're
- 18:11going to be fine. I, I, I do not believe this team
- 18:14is in trouble or worrisome. You heard Aaron Judge, what was
- 18:18it 24 hours ago say we're going to go on another winning streak?
- 18:22We're when it's slump right now. We're a good team.
- 18:24I'm excited for the season. We're going to win a lot of
- 18:27games, he said it. And I'm not worried about if
- 18:29Aaron Judge is saying it. I believe it.
- 18:32So he put in a slump early, early in the years to say.
- 18:35I believe Aaron Judge. And he's already back to hitting
- 18:38270. So, you know, he's fine as
- 18:42everyone expected. Let's talk about those Mets.
- 18:44Q Come on. So the Mets, I guess the
- 18:46injuries, Francisco Alvarez, it just doesn't look like this is a
- 18:50guy who's ever going to stay healthy.
- 18:51He tore his meniscus. He's out two months.
- 18:57It's just not an injury you want to catch her to get just kind of
- 19:00doing basic activities and he's tearing his meniscus.
- 19:04Luis Robert, the big offseason acquisition, lower back
- 19:07inflammation seems like a lower, like a disc issue.
- 19:11He doesn't look like he's improving.
- 19:13I'm assuming they gave him some kind of, you know, epidural
- 19:16injection or something to see if it would calm it down.
- 19:19It has not. So he is still out.
- 19:21Lindor is getting an MRI this week from that calf injury, but
- 19:25don't expect to see him until at some point in June.
- 19:29So there's a lot of injuries, so they had to bring up this
- 19:32prospect. AJ Ewing has been great, who in
- 19:35his first two games has been awesome.
- 19:38He had a historic MLB debut with three walks, a AAA stolen base,
- 19:42multiple RBIs. He hit his first career home run
- 19:46today. Soto had a little scare
- 19:48yesterday's game, but he came back and hit a home run today.
- 19:51Seems like he's fine, and the Mets have won a couple of games
- 19:54in a row heading into this weekend's Subway Series against
- 19:59the Yankees. They're seven and three in the
- 20:01last 10 games and I again, the Mets are in last place in their
- 20:05division. That's a division and I'm not
- 20:07making fun of the Mets. I think the Mets could come
- 20:09back. I don't think they're making the
- 20:11playoffs. Yeah, come out, come out.
- 20:12They're not going, baby. They're not making the.
- 20:15Playoffs not in the American. League they're they're not
- 20:17making the playoffs, but they're going to play better.
- 20:20I like Ewing. I like what they have right now.
- 20:22I like binge. I, I they're this is they've got
- 20:25some good young prospects, but Ewing is going to get into a
- 20:28slump. It's not like he's going to play
- 20:30at this high level. He's playing well.
- 20:32He looked fantastic his first two games.
- 20:35We'll see how as it progressively moves forward and
- 20:37he plays against better pitching.
- 20:39The Yankees have great pitching. They're going to have to walk
- 20:41into Schlittler. They got to walk into Warren.
- 20:43They got to walk into this pitching staff.
- 20:45We'll see how that works. But I think the Mets are playing
- 20:48better baseball and they're not firing Mendoza.
- 20:50So for all the fans out there that thought they're going to
- 20:52fire Mendoza, they're going to keep Mendoza until the trade
- 20:56deadline. If Mendoza gets this team out of
- 20:58the hiatus and and they they find their way into at least a
- 21:03500 record going into the All Star break, he's going nowhere.
- 21:07And I don't think David Stearns is going to move anybody.
- 21:11He's right now we're going into a strike season.
- 21:14So he's going to have to play and, and weigh in his options on
- 21:18what this team is with the youngsters and the youth that
- 21:20they have on this friend on this on this roster.
- 21:23So I like what I see with the youngsters.
- 21:25We have to see if they continue playing at a high level.
- 21:27Yeah, they're both in the outfield, which I think is
- 21:29something that you look at between the Robert injury and
- 21:31the fact that they had a lot of defensive guys before that with
- 21:35Melendez, with just the rotation that they had going into the
- 21:39year, Tyrone Taylor, Mike Tauchman, who got hurt.
- 21:41And so I think having those two guys more is a sure thing in the
- 21:44outfit. To let them develop naturally
- 21:46without these other guys hurt is a good step for the Mets going
- 21:48forward. Yeah, brick by brick man.
- 21:51That's what we're doing. Brick by brick man.
- 21:53I know you guys don't like to hear me say it, but, you know, I
- 21:56think this team is going to surprise us at the end of the
- 21:59day. Just get into the fell just just
- 22:02by the, you know, hair by 10 to 10:10.
- 22:05But the guy, the only guy, young, young and the you and
- 22:08young and he came in and gave us gave us a spark.
- 22:10And I'm I'm cool with that. I think that there will be
- 22:13players that are step up and I think that teams are going to
- 22:15come in and underestimate the next and then they just steal a
- 22:19couple games here and there. They're on a little hot streak.
- 22:21Like you said earlier, they will go into a little slump and
- 22:23that's expected because, you know, baseball played by 8090 a
- 22:27hundred games and whatnot. So it's suspected, you know,
- 22:30he's not a robot. But I do think that this team
- 22:33has found some momentum and I think they're going to just
- 22:36build on top of the moment that they have found brick by brick.
- 22:39Like I said, day by day, game by game.
- 22:41Let's go, Mets. All right, let's get to
- 22:45football, the Giants and Jets. So let's just start with
- 22:50something that leaked earlier today with the schedule.
- 22:53Week 1 Jets, Titans. Robert Sala comes back to face
- 23:00The Jets right off the bat in a grudge match.
- 23:04What a interesting 1 he gets to gets them in Tennessee.
- 23:07The only other news I have Reese Hall and I did a sportsman on
- 23:11earlier this week, three years, $45.75 million contract and in
- 23:16his press conference he said he's the only top 10 running
- 23:19back that has been in a less than ideal situation in the
- 23:23league and still putting up those.
- 23:24Numbers. He's not wrong.
- 23:26Nobody's going to argue with him.
- 23:27He's not wrong. I think it was a great contract
- 23:30for The Jets 15,000,000. I I think, and the, The Jets are
- 23:33still going to have a lot of money to spend next year.
- 23:36They've got a ton of draft stock and they needed their best
- 23:39offensive option. He is their best offensive
- 23:41option. He was great last year with an
- 23:43offensive line that was tipping and towing all season long.
- 23:47But it's a good young offensive line and now with the weapons
- 23:50that they have now, they're going to explode right off the
- 23:52paper with talent. So I, I, I like the Bruce Hall
- 23:55signing and as far as who they're playing in the first
- 23:58first game is who cares? Who cares?
- 24:01We have to see how this roster falls together before we even
- 24:04talk about who they're playing in the first game.
- 24:06Second, Robert AKA Bambi Salah, Who cares?
- 24:09Peace out. Who cares?
- 24:11Goodbye All Brake no gas whatever the hell.
- 24:13Or all gas no. Brake.
- 24:14Whatever, whatever it was really all brake, no gas, because
- 24:18that's all it was anyways, I'm done with.
- 24:20That remember Q he was keeping receipts.
- 24:22Too. Yes, Sir.
- 24:23Yes, Sir. The only receipts he was keeping
- 24:25is the ones in his ass. Meanwhile, The Jets were six and
- 24:28three in 2022. Lost our friend Pete, burst 6
- 24:31Vikings. I fell completely apart after
- 24:33that. But yeah, I think they did the
- 24:34right thing with Breece Hall. I I praise him last year for
- 24:36paying Wilson and Saucer and as good as they did, I did the
- 24:39right thing. I get the drama not being there.
- 24:42Yeah, we, we, we're sold out on offense and we're doing a good
- 24:45job with acquiring talent. Now, obviously we got a training
- 24:49camp and OTA to kind of figure out how we're going to get this
- 24:52talent to, you know, come together and fall into place led
- 24:56by Geno Smith. So I think that this team is
- 24:59built to win in a win now situation.
- 25:01Obviously I got them going to the playoffs being a wild card
- 25:04coming out of AMC East. But I yeah, at the end of the
- 25:08day, I think the Tennessee game is, is kind of what they, you
- 25:11know, The Jets always kind of get that first game as like a
- 25:13robbery, like they fire somebody or they get rid of somebody.
- 25:16And then it just magically happened where they play on the
- 25:19last, you know, man, Aaron watches, you know, after he had
- 25:22his debacle in New York, he went to Pittsburgh and then they
- 25:24first game they played against Pittsburgh.
- 25:26And so I think the NFL loves to see a New York team, you know,
- 25:30go head to head with somebody that they just got rid of.
- 25:33But I don't think it'll be that big of a thing.
- 25:35I think both teams are trying to figure out who they are and get
- 25:38their identity. I do think Tennessee is less
- 25:41talented than us. So it'll be interesting.
- 25:43And I think that you know the. Jets, why are we talking about
- 25:46that game? Can we stop?
- 25:48Because it's on the schedule, it's the first game.
- 25:50On move on. Go move on.
- 25:53Let's talk about other Giants, New York football Giants will be
- 25:57the discussion. Malik Neighbors.
- 25:59He had a second procedure done to clean out some stiffness in
- 26:03the knee, which obviously sets his timetable back a little bit.
- 26:07They say that they they think they're optimistic for Week 1,
- 26:11which is not what you want to hear going into the season.
- 26:15The other bit of news I have on the Giants looking over here is
- 26:20their top undrafted free agent rookie from UNC AD back named
- 26:25Thaddeus Dixon. Torres Achilles in mini camp.
- 26:28He is going to be done, unfortunately for him.
- 26:32I'll say this, I told you about the neighbors thing.
- 26:36I want everybody to know I said Malik Neighbors is not going to
- 26:39be the same high flying offensive option that the Giants
- 26:43had and they drafted from LSU. I think that's a big problem and
- 26:46you're going to hear that all season long.
- 26:48Hence the reason why the Giants needed to go for a wide receiver
- 26:52in the first round and they didn't.
- 26:55That's all I'm going to say about that.
- 26:56Yeah, they went for the combined production, hoping a lot of
- 26:58these streakier slot guys to make it work.
- 27:00We'll see if it works in that system.
- 27:02But yeah, I would say October would be the more likely thing
- 27:04for him to play at the full potential again.
- 27:08It's the Giants, man. They figured out how to blow it.
- 27:11But Nah, yeah, I mean, not too much on the Giants.
- 27:15You know, that's, it's pretty much self experience.
- 27:17I'm interested to see how Jackson Dart come out and
- 27:20actually play and see what you guys can do with him.
- 27:22But yeah, I just leave it at. Who's he thrown to?
- 27:27That's the problem. That's.
- 27:28Arnelle Mooney and Calvin Austin.
- 27:29Good luck. Giant fans, good luck.
- 27:32Enjoy. Good that up.
- 27:33Enjoy. All right, to wrap up the car,
- 27:36so we're going to save hockey for our hockey segment after.
- 27:41I just want to give a shout out to.
- 27:42I want to, I want to give a shout out to Matthew Shaffer for
- 27:45winning the Calder Trophy. Shout out to Matthew Schaefer.
- 27:49He deserved it. He got all the votes.
- 27:51He is. He was the best rookie in the
- 27:53NHL this year. Congratulations to him.
- 27:55Great kid. Love everything about him.
- 27:58Matthew Schaefer, obviously top thing that happened there in the
- 28:01local area. Looks like everyone recognized
- 28:04his greatness. Tide, Leach's record for goals.
- 28:08Sabres, we'll talk about their playoffs in the playoffs
- 28:10segment. And the Bills signed the backup
- 28:12tight end and a backup pass rusher.
- 28:15Congratulations to us. That's the.
- 28:17Carousel and that is the carousel.
- 28:19For Oh my God, I'm a little lost tonight.
- 28:22A little lost as I've been sick all over the last 48 hours.
- 28:27I'm on antibiotic antibiotics, I'm on steroids.
- 28:30I'm on everything. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm still
- 28:32here trying to entertain you guys.
- 28:35All right, my deuce of the day. The deuce of the day you log not
- 28:40a log. I don't have a log, but no.
- 28:49Well, my deuce of the day goes to the old Jakey poo, ladies and
- 28:52gentlemen. Yes, you know who that is?
- 28:54Mr. Jake Paul. And Jake Paul has his mouth
- 29:01waving. And I, I'll say this, Jake Paul
- 29:03is a marketing genius. This guy knows how to make
- 29:06money. He's doing such a great job
- 29:07right now on Netflix, raising money, bringing in all these
- 29:10guys and and girls to fight. And it's it's sensational.
- 29:14I love it. But then Jake Paul has the
- 29:16audacity to go after Canelo Alvarez and challenge him and
- 29:20tell him that he wants to fight him for $200 million and says
- 29:23that he's offering him $200 million to get in the ring with
- 29:26him. Meanwhile, there's a story
- 29:28coming out that Jake Paul's eye sockets are still not healed
- 29:33from the Joshua fight and his cheekbone is still not fully
- 29:36healed and he might never fight again.
- 29:38So why is he challenging probably one of the deadliest
- 29:41punchers in the boxing world? It makes no sense.
- 29:45It just shows you how stupid he is as a fighter.
- 29:48But hey, if he wants to get in a ring with another guy to pop out
- 29:51another of actually actually pop out his eye this time, good luck
- 29:54to him, Jake Paul. Just stick to the marketing end,
- 29:56man. You're sensational.
- 29:58You're doing such a great job. You're making millions and
- 30:00millions of dollars. You're helping the boxing world.
- 30:02You're helping mixed martial arts and fighters really
- 30:06obviously get an opportunity to make some money with the UFC is
- 30:09not. You're doing things that Dana
- 30:11White is not doing for the fighters, giving them insurances
- 30:15and everything like that. You're doing all these great
- 30:17things. Why do you want to get back in
- 30:18the ring and be an idiot? This isn't rocky, buddy.
- 30:21And if you think you're Rocky, you're going to get knocked the
- 30:23hell out. That's all I'm going to say
- 30:25about that. So that is my deuce of the day.
- 30:27I just want to let everybody know that I fought my way
- 30:30through the show. I've been congested.
- 30:32I've been dealing with it and I'm I'm just happy that I got
- 30:35through the show. So thank you to all the guys and
- 30:38the the fans out there that have set me get well and shout out to
- 30:42Jamie Lee and all the people that have stood behind me for
- 30:47all the craziness over the last 48 hours.
- 30:49So thank you, thank you, thank you and the guys, everybody on
- 30:52the show for being behind me on this.
- 30:54And Fish was telling me like, we'll do whatever it takes to to
- 30:58make sure that the show, you know, can be better for you.
- 31:01But there you go. I'm running over queue right
- 31:03there. Thank you to all the Spotify and

- 31:54Sports. Chrissy Freud will be joining
- 31:56us. Yes.
- 31:57And if you don't know who Chrissy Freud is, she was the
- 32:00one that was let go by her organization because of some of
- 32:04the things that she said about Diana Rusini.
- 32:08You know, anybody that knows the story, but we're not going to
- 32:10get into that. She doesn't want to talk about
- 32:12that. But it's very we're very excited
- 32:15to have her on the show. She doesn't really.
- 32:16She has not jumped on many different shows because of the
- 32:20situation, but she wants to come on this show.
- 32:22So we really appreciate her and we'll have some fun with her.
- 32:25We'll talk a little NFL with her.
- 32:27So she was at the draft and I'd love to hear her take on The
- 32:30Jets and the Giants pick. So we're happy to have her.
- 32:33So thank you very much. And we'll we'll stay tuned for
- 32:36our Thursday show as well. We're going to have a special
- 32:39guest as well. All right, enjoy the weekend,
- 32:42ladies and gentlemen. And maybe we'll see a Knick game
- 32:45on Monday or Tuesday. It could happen if the Cavaliers
- 32:49close out the Detroit Pistons. I'm excited.
- 32:53I want to, I want to see the Knicks play.
- 32:55The quicker the better because the longer the Knicks wait, the
- 32:58more I think it it could affect the Knicks.
- 33:00I want to see them on the basketball court as soon as
- 33:03possible. Anyways, that's it for our show.
- 33:05We will see you on Monday next week.

- 33:12network.
