- 1:22Speaker 2: The King of the North decided to bang on me
- 1:27Speaker 2: all the aks.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Well, then it's Capricorn season, so I'm at my bull.
- 1:31Speaker 1: It's strength.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I mean, this is true. As you're recording, you know
- 1:36Speaker 2: it's about to be a momentous occasion. Yes, tomorrow tomorrow
- 1:43Speaker 2: You're shine. Tomorrow tomorrow You're shine. I love.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yes, that was I think that was like my first grade.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Uh like saw me singing for when I graduated. Actually
- 1:56Speaker 1: I remember that clears that yep.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Wow, it had something to do with my but it
- 2:03Speaker 2: might have been. I can't remember why, but yeah, same,
- 2:06Speaker 2: same nice. I always remember my every first thing I
- 2:12Speaker 2: did well. My first acting gig, My first gig is
- 2:16Speaker 2: an apt tour in kindergarten was a recital of Edgar
- 2:24Speaker 2: Allen Poe's classic poem.
- 2:26Speaker 1: The Raven, The Raven? Why the hell as a kindergarten.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You talk about my Hollywood true Hollywood stories, But what
- 2:37Speaker 2: I really need to do is find out the name
- 2:39Speaker 2: of my drama teacher, because sadly, through the name of Tom,
- 2:42Speaker 2: I know it's missus g but I can't remember her
- 2:45Speaker 2: whole name was a wild woman, because yes, first of all,
- 2:50Speaker 2: in kindergarten, I did quote the Raven there for more,
- 2:53Speaker 2: it was fired. I can't lie. All of us went
- 2:55Speaker 2: all black. We had our faces painted white, so it
- 2:58Speaker 2: was like we had a black pat drop, so it
- 3:00Speaker 2: was just you just saw our white faces and the
- 3:03Speaker 2: poem went down the line, and I was the youngest kid,
- 3:06Speaker 2: so I ended the thing with the quote the raven nevermore.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I dropped the last line of every stanza.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Don't know your teacher thought she cooked.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I know she was.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Waiting to do that.
- 3:17Speaker 2: You think that's cooking. What about when I was probably
- 3:20Speaker 2: in second grade at most, maybe third at most, and
- 3:23Speaker 2: we did of mice and of men, and I shot
- 3:27Speaker 2: the man in the back of the head a much
- 3:29Speaker 2: older kid. I think he was like fifth grade, so
- 3:31Speaker 2: it's probably second because I was definitely one, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 2: one like super early. And I got the off a kid,
- 3:39Speaker 2: you know on stage.
- 3:41Speaker 1: That's a far crive from singing tomorrow and hopefulness for
- 3:43Speaker 1: the futures. Quoth the raising like damn relaxed.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I got to tell somebody to look at the flowers,
- 3:49Speaker 2: shout out to walking dead like early early darn. My
- 3:54Speaker 2: teacher was on one.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, Well, like you said, Ben, happy New Year,
- 3:59Speaker 1: or maybe you were about to Happy New Year. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: already said that, But yeah year, I want to say
- 4:05Speaker 1: I think I had a really good turn of the
- 4:08Speaker 1: new year. It's not my new year. My new year
- 4:10Speaker 1: will be tomorrow, January fourteenth, you know, chemic corn, I
- 4:14Speaker 1: consider yeah, yes, I consider birthdays the new year, right,
- 4:19Speaker 1: that's literally your revolution around the sun, and every new
- 4:22Speaker 1: year is unique to you. But yes, the quote unquote
- 4:25Speaker 1: most of the world's New Years. I think I had
- 4:28Speaker 1: a good time. I actually because hey, not everybody in
- 4:31Speaker 1: the world celebrate New Year's on Janney first. I'm just
- 4:32Speaker 1: saying that's truly accurate for a lot of people.
- 4:35Speaker 2: So my every orthodox on the planet, I think is
- 4:40Speaker 2: September eleventh.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Chinese Loom New Year, like there's mad people. Anyway, I won.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It was the first time in many, many, many years
- 4:49Speaker 1: that I went nowhere. I was actually in the house
- 4:52Speaker 1: with my family chilling, and I just stayed by the
- 4:56Speaker 1: and really we were like scrambling, like because I don't
- 4:59Speaker 1: know what we were doing, what we was watch it
- 5:00Speaker 1: and it was like, oh shit, it's eleven fifty four.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Like it was like, oh, we got to find a channel.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And because you know, we're in the future, we don't
- 5:06Speaker 1: have cable anymore, right, we just have a cobbling of
- 5:10Speaker 1: random streaming networks, and like we don't have the highest
- 5:15Speaker 1: level package, so we don't necessarily have live TV either.
- 5:18Speaker 1: But we also have a Samsung TV, and you know,
- 5:20Speaker 1: for anyone who has a Samsung TV, you also got
- 5:22Speaker 1: them bootleg Samsung channels like Samsung News and it's just
- 5:26Speaker 1: like some off brand Fox News and some other shit.
- 5:29Speaker 1: So we was like going through these random quote live
- 5:32Speaker 1: channels trying to find like New Year's stuff, and what
- 5:35Speaker 1: we kept seeing was like cams like streaming cameras of
- 5:40Speaker 1: the ball but not the actual situation. So we're just scramming, scrambling.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I think we ended up like on YouTube or something
- 5:46Speaker 1: found the like the actual like ABC ball drop or whatever,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and then just had that onf literally like maybe the
- 5:53Speaker 1: thirty seconds of the countdown, that's when we found the
- 5:55Speaker 1: channel had that did the Happy New Year with the
- 5:58Speaker 1: fams said, all right, whooped dee woop, had our little
- 6:01Speaker 1: I washed I washed clothes. I know that's another that's
- 6:03Speaker 1: a black, some southern black thing, but but but black.
- 6:06Speaker 1: A lot of Black Americans do do that where they
- 6:08Speaker 1: wash clothes. You know, you don't want to go into
- 6:10Speaker 1: New Year with dirty teens and whatnot. I did that.
- 6:14Speaker 1: You know, people do the black eyed peas and all
- 6:15Speaker 1: that stuff.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I'd had a black eyed peas, some greens. Yeah, I
- 6:18Speaker 2: had my.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I had my. Uh, I didn't drink, so I had.
- 6:21Speaker 2: What did I have? Oh?
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you know the sparkling, the sparkling, the sparks side
- 6:26Speaker 1: the Martinelli's, right, isn't it Martinelli's Yeah, and Martinelli. So
- 6:30Speaker 1: I had that. So I had really tame New Year's
- 6:34Speaker 1: and then like pretty much right after I went on
- 6:36Speaker 1: a cruise. So nice, Yeah, what about yourself?
- 6:39Speaker 2: What did you do? I chilled, saying, uh, normally I'm
- 6:45Speaker 2: working on New Year's sometimes, but when I'm not working
- 6:50Speaker 2: on New Year's I really like to chill. I do
- 6:52Speaker 2: not like to be in anyone's party if I'm not
- 6:54Speaker 2: DJing it, especially on New Year's. So I was chilling.
- 6:59Speaker 2: But I was in Houston and it was a really
- 7:01Speaker 2: great time. I have not been home for that long
- 7:06Speaker 2: and I don't know forever, Like I was home in
- 7:09Speaker 2: Houston for like ten eleven days and it was frigging awesome. Man,
- 7:13Speaker 2: shout out to the h I had the best time.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Shout out man. There's too many people, but I do
- 7:18Speaker 2: want to shout out my nieces. The N's Club on Instagram,
- 7:22Speaker 2: Newari and Nipe. They both put on a fire event
- 7:26Speaker 2: at They just had another one ye that looked even
- 7:29Speaker 2: more fire. But we did an event at the Doche House.
- 7:33Speaker 2: We had my Man's DJ, Elevated Nice and Good Grief
- 7:37Speaker 2: came through. Both of them. Are DJ doci oh.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Doshie about to say had a activation?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's it's doch d o s hi. The
- 7:50Speaker 2: Doche House in the trade and the third board and
- 7:54Speaker 2: it's fire little joint, you know, little coffee shop to
- 7:57Speaker 2: try to dope with backyard space where like my nieces
- 8:00Speaker 2: just did another event there this weekend where they had
- 8:04Speaker 2: a bunch of live performers that I mean, bands, rappers,
- 8:08Speaker 2: all kind of singers. It was like, I'm like shit,
- 8:11Speaker 2: Houston got all kinds of talent as always we already know.
- 8:15Speaker 2: But we had an event there where my Man's Good
- 8:18Speaker 2: Grief and Elevator were both selling vinyl. I was DJing,
- 8:22Speaker 2: sold a bunch of copies of Hindreds. Of course my
- 8:25Speaker 2: nieces and their man were selling their jewelry. It was
- 8:29Speaker 2: really dope event and just had the best time. Man.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I got to hang out with my nephews again, Musa
- 8:35Speaker 2: and Aja, who are three and five. Respect them and
- 8:41Speaker 2: about to be three. He's pist season coming up. Musa
- 8:44Speaker 2: Little Musa, Musa the Menace. Boy, my man is error
- 8:48Speaker 2: at two. Boy Jesus. Love them though, Oh my god,
- 8:52Speaker 2: the sweetest little boys in the world. Love them, Love
- 8:54Speaker 2: everybody love you know. I got to hang out my sister,
- 8:58Speaker 2: you know, so it was just a really great time.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I had the best time. But yeah, same on. We
- 9:02Speaker 2: was chilling in the Airbnb real well actually when a clopstruck,
- 9:07Speaker 2: I was with my sister and you know, everybody was
- 9:09Speaker 2: all just chilling. So it was a great, great time, man,
- 9:13Speaker 2: best time. Yeah, the best time in Houston. Yeah, and
- 9:16Speaker 2: really excited about the new year in general, like just
- 9:20Speaker 2: full of potential, full of everything. But I'm just feeling
- 9:23Speaker 2: really good lately. I've just been doing a lot of
- 9:26Speaker 2: work on maintaining a positive, you know, mental attitude through everything,
- 9:32Speaker 2: doing a lot more reading. I've been like just really
- 9:36Speaker 2: trying to read, you know what i mean. I've been
- 9:40Speaker 2: talking about this, yeah, books. Speaking of that. If you're
- 9:42Speaker 2: watching us right now on YouTube or wherever you're seeing
- 9:45Speaker 2: this video, you'll see this beautiful book in my hand.
- 9:49Speaker 2: We'll be interviewing this author very soon with Alex Segura. Well,
- 9:53Speaker 2: I've been a fan of the man for a minute,
- 9:56Speaker 2: but he has the upcoming enemy of my enemy, the
- 10:00Speaker 2: Daredevil Marvel crime novel. Yeah. Oh, look at that beautiful
- 10:05Speaker 2: advance copy that your boy is already reading through right now.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And that quote sounds familiar. I remember that quote.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So yeah, it's it's solid so far. I don't want
- 10:14Speaker 2: to go with you any much that I'm not sure
- 10:16Speaker 2: for up on you know, any NBA's But it reads
- 10:20Speaker 2: like if you are a fan of the television show,
- 10:22Speaker 2: it reads, you know, like another season yeah Netflix, Yeah,
- 10:26Speaker 2: it just reads like another season of the Netflix show.
- 10:30Speaker 2: You know. It features it does feature a lot of
- 10:33Speaker 2: more characters from the comics than even the Netflix show
- 10:35Speaker 2: has sown. But like Typhoid, Mary is mentioned. Dakota Johnson,
- 10:40Speaker 2: I mean Dakota Dakota North. I don't think she's even
- 10:43Speaker 2: been introduced in MCU yet, and she's up in here.
- 10:46Speaker 2: And it's also one of those books that it's very
- 10:49Speaker 2: short chapters. So it's like a great beach read or
- 10:52Speaker 2: you know, if you're on a cruise, you can take
- 10:53Speaker 2: this along, you know, it's a classic, you know, Airport
- 10:57Speaker 2: crime novel, but it's featuring Daredevil and see you so
- 11:01Speaker 2: definitely check this out and we'll be talking to Alex
- 11:04Speaker 2: about it soon. So Okay, that's what's up all that.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So yeah, I've been been in general, I've been reading,
- 11:09Speaker 2: watching a lot more, just trying to really be focused
- 11:13Speaker 2: on what I watched, watching a lot more films, trying
- 11:17Speaker 2: to catch up on everything. I know, we got the
- 11:19Speaker 2: Golden Globes to just passed, so I've been trying to
- 11:21Speaker 2: catch up on that.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Have you seen His and Hers on Netflix?
- 11:25Speaker 2: Nah?
- 11:26Speaker 1: He got to see it. Well, I think you're gonna
- 11:29Speaker 1: be critical about it, but I still think it's because
- 11:31Speaker 1: I've heard really good.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I've heard that it is like hot, you know, like
- 11:36Speaker 2: I've heard it's soap opera level.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Well you know it is, but it's still good.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean you've got you know people I
- 11:44Speaker 2: love to see.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Tessa Thompson or you know as I call her, Tessa
- 11:48Speaker 1: Rak Thompson. She starts in it along with I was
- 11:51Speaker 1: gonna call him by his confident Frank Frank Castle, but
- 11:55Speaker 1: John Barrethal, Pablo Streiver, you know your boyfriend oh Man, Yeah, yeah,
- 12:02Speaker 1: Sunitamani is in it Crystal Fox and you know a
- 12:08Speaker 1: lot of others, Chris Bauer and it like a lot
- 12:09Speaker 1: of people in there. So yes, it's a lot. It's
- 12:12Speaker 1: a bit soap obbery that notwithstanding, it's good, like the
- 12:16Speaker 1: acting is still good. It's still these top tier actors
- 12:19Speaker 1: in it. And it has a really good twist. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: will admit I figured out the twist like two episodes
- 12:26Speaker 1: three episodes before, like I just looked at my husband
- 12:29Speaker 1: and I was like, this is what's gonna happen, I'm
- 12:32Speaker 1: telling you, and then end up happening so and and
- 12:35Speaker 1: again that just could be because we have the we
- 12:37Speaker 1: have a more critical eye and we're looking at it.
- 12:39Speaker 1: But I will say, like, don't come at this like
- 12:42Speaker 1: trying to dissect the inner workings of you know, film
- 12:46Speaker 1: and TV like because you're gonna be mad about something.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Just come to it as just like a popcorn thriller
- 12:54Speaker 1: drama and enjoy it. But that said, I really enjoyed it.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I really liked this. It's actually the number one show
- 13:02Speaker 1: on Netflix right now. It probably will be for for
- 13:06Speaker 1: until like the next big thing comes out. But it's
- 13:09Speaker 1: the twist is well done in the fact that you
- 13:16Speaker 1: see a side of certain people that you don't necessarily
- 13:20Speaker 1: get to see in TV film. Okay, let's say that. Okay,
- 13:24Speaker 1: so I'm I'm. That's the most I'm gonna say about that.
- 13:28Speaker 1: One cool thing that happened recently actually is my cousin.
- 13:33Speaker 1: His name is Stige. The gift that he is an artist.
- 13:36Speaker 1: He also owns Mecca Made Entertainment, which is a record label.
- 13:40Speaker 1: His song the Boat actually appears on episode five, maybe
- 13:45Speaker 1: about thirty three minutes in. There's a scene with some teenagers.
- 13:49Speaker 1: But so his his song actually appears on that and
- 13:52Speaker 1: it's like it's a song that came out many a
- 13:54Speaker 1: few years ago and one that like making a sallion
- 13:56Speaker 1: like co sign on and stuff like that. So it's
- 13:58Speaker 1: called the Boat and it's you can't like it's in
- 14:01Speaker 1: the background. Okay, these are this is background music. But
- 14:03Speaker 1: it's just really cool to like see that and you know,
- 14:05Speaker 1: see it on such a big hit show.
- 14:07Speaker 2: So what's the boat talking about?
- 14:10Speaker 1: It's a hip hop song. It's a hip hop song
- 14:11Speaker 1: like called about driving the boat. Like you know, when
- 14:13Speaker 1: Megan first came out a lot of times she was
- 14:15Speaker 1: talking about driving the boat. She was talking and I
- 14:17Speaker 1: think people said she got that from called that black
- 14:18Speaker 1: and other people. But basically it was just about like
- 14:20Speaker 1: taking bottles to the head and drinking and stuff like that.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Oh, because old DC slang is smoking boat.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no drinking drinking.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah, boat was I want to say it was like
- 14:35Speaker 2: weed and what was boat? Maybe coke? You know like
- 14:41Speaker 2: what New York catch used to call wooley blunts. Yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 2: DC would called boat or maybe a fry like from
- 14:47Speaker 2: all the Hard That's what we were call it in Houston.
- 14:49Speaker 2: It's smoking fry. Was like we dipped in PCP or
- 14:52Speaker 2: from all the Hard.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Well was that escalated quickly? But now this is just
- 14:56Speaker 1: just drinking, just just alcohol, that's all. It's a drug,
- 14:59Speaker 1: but not that type.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Look you gotta you know, look you know said he said,
- 15:03Speaker 2: like he gave.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Me alphabetical letters and something like WHOA come down like.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Not saying you know, these are things that I would
- 15:10Speaker 2: not say you do once again, I would never you
- 15:14Speaker 2: know me myself, I would never you know, buyweed from
- 15:19Speaker 2: unknown sources and end up perhaps you know, smoking something
- 15:23Speaker 2: that I would never do that. Yeah, But we were
- 15:28Speaker 2: speaking about movies and TV shows and things of that nature,
- 15:32Speaker 2: and I think we do need to distress but you know,
- 15:38Speaker 2: like first man before we even get to the Golden
- 15:40Speaker 2: Globes and shit, like.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Before we get because I don't want to just ask
- 15:43Speaker 1: another question about it.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like, yo, shit is trash out here? Fam Like
- 15:50Speaker 2: I don't know if this is in the show run,
- 15:52Speaker 2: but you know I saw that people were dogging Jimmy
- 15:56Speaker 2: Fallon for you know, not speaking about it, And to
- 16:01Speaker 2: this day, I have to say, you know how to funk?
- 16:03Speaker 1: Are the roots speaking about what?
- 16:05Speaker 2: Everything? Like?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Does he ever speak about anything? You're asking for things
- 16:10Speaker 1: that is not easy to give up from these people?
- 16:12Speaker 1: He's never gonna he doesn't talk about that. When does
- 16:16Speaker 1: he ever talk about that?
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Keith Porter was the person shot the brothers shot
- 16:24Speaker 2: and I'm not sure but shot by ice agents over
- 16:27Speaker 2: New Year's weekend. I know that much. And I'm not
- 16:32Speaker 2: sure the young woman's name or the mother of Renee good.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Right who is shot by Minneapolis Minneapolis point blank range.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, if you all saw a video and Minneapolis, like
- 16:46Speaker 2: from what I'm understanding, is currently just completely under siege. Yeah,
- 16:51Speaker 2: like people are not seeing the news. We're not seeing
- 16:54Speaker 2: it on the news. Obviously, you have to talk to
- 16:57Speaker 2: people who are there to understand how ridiculous, how crazy
- 17:00Speaker 2: it is, and this type of shit is coming for
- 17:04Speaker 2: you know, most major cities, like the people in charge
- 17:07Speaker 2: right now are not playing. I also have to say though,
- 17:11Speaker 2: like as I reposted this video, and something that I
- 17:14Speaker 2: say over and over again is the people in charge
- 17:16Speaker 2: are also a bunch of you know, whatever is and
- 17:20Speaker 2: right wing mentality, the ideas behind it are not inevitable.
- 17:25Speaker 2: What is more inevitable is the ideas behind left wing
- 17:30Speaker 2: or I don't even like the idea of left and
- 17:31Speaker 2: right wing. It's more just freedom for all is a
- 17:35Speaker 2: more universal ideal than fascism, you know what I mean.
- 17:38Speaker 2: People want freedom like that is what people want. You know,
- 17:43Speaker 2: people do not want to be under control, and so
- 17:45Speaker 2: people will always resist being under control, and fascist regimes
- 17:50Speaker 2: fall over and over again in history. They're attempted over
- 17:53Speaker 2: and over again in history because as people said at
- 17:57Speaker 2: the very beginning of this country, even if they were
- 17:58Speaker 2: just white men talking about themselves, if you do not
- 18:01Speaker 2: defend democracy, it will be taken from me. You know,
- 18:04Speaker 2: that is going on over and over again. It is
- 18:07Speaker 2: always a fight to maintain freedoms because people want to
- 18:10Speaker 2: take things from you, and especially in this country, America
- 18:13Speaker 2: that we live in. It was founded by a bunch
- 18:15Speaker 2: of scoundrels and stumpbags who really only had their own
- 18:18Speaker 2: interests in mind and always wanted to rule over a
- 18:22Speaker 2: select few people.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah, versus poor You mentioned first TV films like and
- 18:29Speaker 1: again before we get the Golden globes. Is it more
- 18:32Speaker 1: so about like the people involved just not in TV
- 18:34Speaker 1: and films, not speaking up about what's happening and not
- 18:37Speaker 1: some of them have market some of them have, ye,
- 18:39Speaker 1: the someone have, but Tessa at least Testa and a
- 18:43Speaker 1: bunch of them more like pins and stuff like that.
- 18:45Speaker 2: That shit's so fucking weak to me. I'm sorry. Shout
- 18:47Speaker 2: out to Tesla.
- 18:48Speaker 1: You know, you got to give people. You have to
- 18:50Speaker 1: allow people to to communicate in the ways that work
- 18:53Speaker 1: for them. Okay. The fact that you're you're making some
- 18:55Speaker 1: type of statement like I'm never going to say, oh,
- 18:59Speaker 1: that's not enough.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Okay, you understand what I mean?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Like in that context, could it be more sure? Could
- 19:05Speaker 1: you be more vocal? Yeah? Yeah, but that's also subjective.
- 19:07Speaker 1: If you have of you putting out a message that
- 19:10Speaker 1: is for the right side of history in some shape
- 19:13Speaker 1: or form, thank you, Yes, especially if you're on a
- 19:17Speaker 1: large stage.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree there, but I also think that it's
- 19:21Speaker 2: like we have to be much more vocal, like as
- 19:23Speaker 2: we were saying with someone like Jimmy Fallon who is
- 19:26Speaker 2: just completely silent. And a pin is cool, but a
- 19:29Speaker 2: pen goes to the same feeling that I feel about
- 19:31Speaker 2: most pins. You know, bast cancer, been this pin, then
- 19:33Speaker 2: that pin. You know, to depend it's nice, and putting
- 19:35Speaker 2: your money behind it is great as well.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It's also kind of a catchwin twouse. I'm also just like,
- 19:41Speaker 1: why do we care about I mean again, it's it's
- 19:44Speaker 1: not only the catch twenty two, it's also it's also
- 19:47Speaker 1: a kind of hypothetical question. It's like, why do we
- 19:49Speaker 1: care about if Jimmy Fallon talks about it? Yes, because
- 19:51Speaker 1: he is a has a large presence, he has a
- 19:54Speaker 1: large thing. Yes, excuse me, pauls he has a large platform,
- 20:00Speaker 1: and that anything he says can reach the masses. I
- 20:03Speaker 1: get it, that's the that's the obvious answer. But I'm
- 20:06Speaker 1: also questioning why are we looking to him. Never once
- 20:09Speaker 1: in the history of ever has he attributed himself to
- 20:13Speaker 1: be a revolutionary. Never once in the history of ever
- 20:15Speaker 1: has that I can remember he's ever spoken up genuinely
- 20:20Speaker 1: about any particular social or political cause that wasn't something
- 20:25Speaker 1: that was rooted in popularity anyway. So why do we
- 20:29Speaker 1: expect him to even participate in any of this? Like
- 20:33Speaker 1: I don't, I don't. I don't expect none of those
- 20:35Speaker 1: niggas to participate. You we can hold these people to
- 20:38Speaker 1: task and be like, bro, you have this just like
- 20:41Speaker 1: we do. You have this platform, you have this this
- 20:43Speaker 1: level of reach and people who listen to you, and
- 20:46Speaker 1: you should be using it to save them. Bah. It's
- 20:48Speaker 1: also just like they not the ones they not it like,
- 20:53Speaker 1: and let's like, let's not pretend like they're.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Going to be My thing is I'm not looking for
- 20:59Speaker 2: Jimmy And I was just mention his name because I
- 21:03Speaker 2: feel if he's not it's my responsibility to do something,
- 21:07Speaker 2: to say something. That's what I was saying, like if
- 21:10Speaker 2: you know, because I'm over here sometimes saying I don't
- 21:13Speaker 2: want to say these things because it's just a hot
- 21:16Speaker 2: environment right now. But at the same time, I don't
- 21:19Speaker 2: fuck it, you know what I mean? Like what else,
- 21:21Speaker 2: DoD Like what else are you gonna do? Not say shit?
- 21:25Speaker 2: Like I'm not gonna they.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Will continue to not say shit, they will continue.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Well, that's on them. What I'm saying is for myself personally,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I have to say something so absolutely, you know, at
- 21:35Speaker 2: this moment, I do want to say, shout out to
- 21:37Speaker 2: everybody out there who is fighting this, who is resisting
- 21:41Speaker 2: in any way. I really just want to say to
- 21:44Speaker 2: people listening to people who are feeling down, you know,
- 21:48Speaker 2: pick yourselves up. If you have to go outside. I
- 21:52Speaker 2: saw this other day, touch some fucking grass. You know
- 21:55Speaker 2: what I mean? For real, for real, put down your
- 21:57Speaker 2: phone right now. There might be nothing thing you can
- 22:00Speaker 2: do to help at all, but you can help your
- 22:03Speaker 2: own mental state and by doing that, getting away from this.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Like I've made it a practice of myself to wake
- 22:10Speaker 2: up in the morning not look at anything, you know,
- 22:13Speaker 2: or if I'm watching anything. I used to wake up
- 22:15Speaker 2: every morning and watch Cameron May shout out to them,
- 22:17Speaker 2: I love them, But now I'll usually wait till eleven
- 22:19Speaker 2: and twelve o'clock because I'll watch some other stuff early,
- 22:23Speaker 2: you know, motivational speakers, whatever, or just do some meditation
- 22:27Speaker 2: things of that nature, where it's like clearing my mind,
- 22:30Speaker 2: making sure my day is focused on good and uplifting things.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So at least start off the morning like that, so
- 22:37Speaker 2: that just sets the tone for the whole day instead
- 22:39Speaker 2: of setting the tone like waking up, Oh shit's terrible.
- 22:42Speaker 2: This motherfucker said some dumb shit again, you know, all
- 22:45Speaker 2: that type of stuff. That's just not the way. So
- 22:47Speaker 2: that's the one thing I just want to say to everybody,
- 22:49Speaker 2: because I know a lot of people are going through it.
- 22:52Speaker 2: It's you know, we're feeling all good about the beginning
- 22:54Speaker 2: of the year, but at the same time, I know
- 22:56Speaker 2: the holidays are really tough on people. I know this
- 22:58Speaker 2: time of year is really tough. It's cold and dark
- 23:01Speaker 2: and a lot of places in the US especially, and
- 23:04Speaker 2: so it's tough for people to make it through today.
- 23:06Speaker 2: So I just want to offer that, Yo, what up.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You know, we out here love y'all all day. Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 2: we see you, And I know times is rough, man,
- 23:14Speaker 2: but we're gonna get through this together. And I truly
- 23:17Speaker 2: believe that one. You know, a lot of old bastard
- 23:21Speaker 2: is gonna die eventually and there'll be some young baskets
- 23:25Speaker 2: to replace them, but the mold bass is dying, will
- 23:28Speaker 2: you know. Cost a lot of chaos, and you know
- 23:31Speaker 2: things are not gonna last as long as people think, yeah,
- 23:35Speaker 2: God willing.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And in the meantime there are some good distractions. Like TV,
- 23:41Speaker 1: it has a lot of good distractions.
- 23:43Speaker 2: I actually need too many distractions.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So distractions from being everything you being presented at being negative.
- 23:50Speaker 1: When I say distraction, two things can be true at
- 23:52Speaker 1: the same time.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Guys.
- 23:52Speaker 1: You can be revolutionary and be aware and also say
- 23:55Speaker 1: I need a fucking break from fucking everything being so
- 23:59Speaker 1: serious and down and negative all the time, like even
- 24:02Speaker 1: for me, like in terms of like you know, turning
- 24:05Speaker 1: to something that's more at least entertainment level, more positive.
- 24:09Speaker 2: TV.
- 24:09Speaker 1: That shit heavy before the holidays were like right before,
- 24:13Speaker 1: right before like Christmas time or whatever. Like I told you,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I finished the Morning Show, so we're all caught up.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Love that ship. It's definitely powerful white people. Just like
- 24:24Speaker 1: you pointed out, we started to last. So love that show.
- 24:28Speaker 1: It's it's so fucking dumb. It's so dumb. Yes, I'm behind,
- 24:38Speaker 1: deal with it. It's so when I say dumb, like
- 24:42Speaker 1: like so dumb, it's so brilliant, Like it's so brilliant,
- 24:46Speaker 1: and it's obviousness in terms of like the guy is
- 24:51Speaker 1: so fucking genuine and it's just like the thing, it's
- 24:54Speaker 1: so like, are you dead ass right? And it's just
- 24:57Speaker 1: it's a joy to watch. It truly is a joy
- 25:00Speaker 1: to watch. Generally every episode except for the last one
- 25:02Speaker 1: we saw, which was very filler. It was like Beard
- 25:06Speaker 1: going on this random mystical adventure that night where he
- 25:10Speaker 1: that sh it was.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I love it. I was over there.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I was like, all right, let's get back to the
- 25:14Speaker 1: main story. I love it because there's always there's always
- 25:18Speaker 1: weird randomness happening every episode. But I like when it's
- 25:21Speaker 1: like I don't like a whole episode of that.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yeah, as far as Ted being genuine filled with goodness
- 25:28Speaker 2: and everything, there's a lot more more. Yeah, there's a
- 25:32Speaker 2: lot more to it. It's coming. It's coming in the
- 25:35Speaker 2: later seasons as you'll see, of course, of course.
- 25:37Speaker 1: But I love it. And then Gloravis recently had the finale.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I thought the finale was kind of weak. It wasn't
- 25:45Speaker 1: what I thought. I thought something like I get it.
- 25:49Speaker 1: But I also was just like, it's okay. It was
- 25:51Speaker 1: it was I don't know, I don't know what I expected.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I think I expected like some big got or some
- 26:00Speaker 1: big cliffhanger, and it was just kind of like, okay,
- 26:03Speaker 1: logical next step for me for horror you finished it right, Yeah,
- 26:09Speaker 1: So basically Manusos he makes it to Carol like episode
- 26:16Speaker 1: all up so long. He ends up you know, making
- 26:21Speaker 1: making the the others, you know, and she leaves and
- 26:26Speaker 1: then she ends up realizing because she she because like
- 26:29Speaker 1: it's like the ultimate betrayal of there, like we're about
- 26:31Speaker 1: to turn you bitch, right and we're doing it through
- 26:33Speaker 1: your through your frozen eggs. And that's really like the
- 26:36Speaker 1: last show for her where she was like, yeah, we
- 26:38Speaker 1: got to shut the ship down, and she she she
- 26:40Speaker 1: tells Manusos as such, and also, I guess you remember
- 26:44Speaker 1: a few episodes back there. She was just testing them
- 26:46Speaker 1: in terms.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Of like there sheet.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Like you know, she was just like, you know, can
- 26:52Speaker 1: you guys lie to me? And they it's like, nah,
- 26:54Speaker 1: would you give me anything? Yeah, clearly am you know.
- 26:56Speaker 1: It's just like there's no discernment there. So she actually
- 26:59Speaker 1: got want to put in front of the I guess
- 27:01Speaker 1: to make a point. So all right, cool, I thought it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I liked it overall.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I thought it was cool. I just I just when
- 27:09Speaker 1: I say I thought it was, I I just it
- 27:11Speaker 1: wasn't nothing like super exciting. For me, it was like, okay,
- 27:15Speaker 1: next up. It was just like another episode to me.
- 27:18Speaker 1: It didn't feel like a finale.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, yeah, it's also the finale the first
- 27:23Speaker 2: season and breaking I'm not breaking bad. Yeah, it's going
- 27:29Speaker 2: to follow that more so where like the last episode,
- 27:32Speaker 2: the ninth episode or whatever it was, I'm not sure
- 27:35Speaker 2: how many, but the pen ultimate episode is going to
- 27:38Speaker 2: be more filled with drama then, but this one was.
- 27:43Speaker 2: There was a lot going on in this one too,
- 27:44Speaker 2: so I thought it you know, I feel you. I
- 27:48Speaker 2: think that's a good assessment, is that it felt more
- 27:51Speaker 2: like another episode than a finale of a season is
- 27:55Speaker 2: what we're used to. But I think it is the
- 27:58Speaker 2: board setting type of finale for season. Like I said,
- 28:01Speaker 2: that's I mean where I'd have to think, what, Yeah,
- 28:03Speaker 2: the episode before that is the gap.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So that is the big crazy Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 2: See, there we go. That's what I'm saying. It is
- 28:09Speaker 2: following the traditional structure went not traditional, but the structure
- 28:12Speaker 2: that was more established by I think Chico said this
- 28:16Speaker 2: is I want to say, this might be a breaking
- 28:19Speaker 2: bad thing or I can't remember if you said it
- 28:21Speaker 2: from Sopranos even but it's where the ninth or the
- 28:26Speaker 2: pen ultimate episode, I mean, yeah, penultimate episode of the
- 28:29Speaker 2: season is going to be the one where everything happens,
- 28:33Speaker 2: and in the last episode of the season, it's going
- 28:35Speaker 2: to be a table setting episode for the next season,
- 28:38Speaker 2: which is exactly what this was and what happened because
- 28:41Speaker 2: the gap was the craziness. We spend all the money,
- 28:44Speaker 2: we go all around the world, I mean they went
- 28:46Speaker 2: all around the world in this, but it's much shorter. Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 2: the gap was like they really you know, they were
- 28:52Speaker 2: really there, so that's shit, you know, and it was
- 28:54Speaker 2: actually you know, tense all that stuff. Yes, while this
- 28:58Speaker 2: one is more like, Okay, this is what's going to
- 29:00Speaker 2: happen next season, right, you know, telling you without telling you,
- 29:04Speaker 2: showing you what's gonna happen, right right, Yeah, I give
- 29:07Speaker 2: it that, And that's why I say it is pretty
- 29:10Speaker 2: solid for that. Now, something I know you're not caught upon,
- 29:14Speaker 2: uh is stranger things, which we definitely needed.
- 29:18Speaker 1: That's over.
- 29:19Speaker 2: It's over.
- 29:21Speaker 1: First of all, you cry, yes.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Probably, Yeah, Look, man, I spent a lot of time
- 29:28Speaker 2: with these damn kids, you know, and yes I did.
- 29:32Speaker 2: There were some moments that got meet.
- 29:34Speaker 1: That's all I kept saying I'm also.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Like TV is it makes me cry Lately over the
- 29:41Speaker 2: last few years, I can't lie. I don't know if
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm getting more sentimental or what, but I'll watch some
- 29:46Speaker 2: shit just be Like I was watching a clip of
- 29:48Speaker 2: School of Rock the other day. I mean, it's a
- 29:51Speaker 2: great clip. It's when Jack Black tells the little black
- 29:53Speaker 2: girl that it doesn't mean. And what's so dope about
- 29:56Speaker 2: it is that he doesn't tell her that you're not fat.
- 29:58Speaker 2: He's like, it doesn't matter, you're fat. You know you're
- 30:01Speaker 2: gonna go out there singing, people are gonna think you're sexy. Like,
- 30:04Speaker 2: don't lie. Just yeah, it just is. It just is
- 30:07Speaker 2: what it is. I'm fat, you fat. We both we
- 30:10Speaker 2: both like to eat. She's w aren't you going to diet?
- 30:12Speaker 2: Because I like to eat? Their problem with that? You know,
- 30:15Speaker 2: it's amazing clips one of my favorite movies man, anyway,
- 30:19Speaker 2: But I'm almost proud of that. Yeah, stranger things, I
- 30:22Speaker 2: cannot lie. Like, there's so much I just love about
- 30:24Speaker 2: the show, like in the end, all be all of it.
- 30:27Speaker 2: But Steve's character with his big head ass and how
- 30:30Speaker 2: he's grown from being a typical jock, white boy dude
- 30:35Speaker 2: you know, who had everything thrown at them, all the
- 30:37Speaker 2: girls everything and would never be friends with somebody like
- 30:40Speaker 2: Dustin to become friends with them and to become like
- 30:44Speaker 2: a father figure to all the kids in general, and
- 30:48Speaker 2: then by the end of it, to be coaching little League. Yeah,
- 30:52Speaker 2: that shit is a fucking amazing character arc and I
- 30:54Speaker 2: love it, you know, it's so great. Like I don't
- 30:58Speaker 2: think all of the show was fantastic, but I think
- 31:02Speaker 2: just some of the little things that the Duffer brothers
- 31:04Speaker 2: and cast and crew managed to do. And I was
- 31:08Speaker 2: extremely happy because certain things that I called early on
- 31:14Speaker 2: y'all can go back and watch happen, And it was
- 31:16Speaker 2: just to me, the logical thing, Like I said, Steve
- 31:19Speaker 2: and Nancy, like Nancy didn't need to be with Jonathan.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I think, look and nothing in the comments. I don't
- 31:25Speaker 2: give ship. If I fuck up these niggas names like
- 31:28Speaker 2: I probably will, you know what I mean. But I'm
- 31:30Speaker 2: pretty sure Steve, Nancy and Jonathan I'm talking about big
- 31:33Speaker 2: Head and Coke had looking dude.
- 31:35Speaker 1: And you don't know what he's talking about, Like that's
- 31:37Speaker 1: not yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 2: But don't my god, they went off last time.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I know, But you should also know considering you're a
- 31:42Speaker 1: big fan of it. You see how how how the
- 31:46Speaker 1: heart this is.
- 31:48Speaker 2: But at the same time, I just don't remember their names.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I just remember them as like big head Coke had
- 31:52Speaker 2: looking dude, because you know, yeo, Steve got a big
- 31:56Speaker 2: old head, you know, from one big head to another.
- 31:59Speaker 2: And my man looked like he smoked the not the best,
- 32:03Speaker 2: the worst of the heroin and the cocaine and the
- 32:05Speaker 2: myth my man is strong, you know, I feel bad
- 32:08Speaker 2: for that after me, I hope you know. I don't
- 32:10Speaker 2: know if that actor is actually on drugs or what.
- 32:12Speaker 2: But my man looks like, hen't say thatt, Hey, I
- 32:19Speaker 2: don't expect them too. I expecting them to get help,
- 32:22Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But anyway, Steve, Steve, Nancy
- 32:31Speaker 2: didn't end up with either of them, And that's what
- 32:33Speaker 2: I thought, what you wanted. Yes, it was beautiful, because yes,
- 32:38Speaker 2: it's just you know, all their characters, for all of
- 32:40Speaker 2: their characters, it was the logical route, and I really
- 32:43Speaker 2: loved it, even though it was very ridiculous how they
- 32:45Speaker 2: had this whole conversation in the frozen sperm room. Y'all
- 32:48Speaker 2: know what I'm talking about. If you watch the show
- 32:51Speaker 2: but they did have that conversation. Nancy and Johnathan did
- 32:54Speaker 2: have that conversation.
- 32:55Speaker 1: There was a lot of ridiculous online conversation about well
- 32:58Speaker 1: coming out like you.
- 33:00Speaker 2: That handle kind of I have to say, yeah, okay,
- 33:04Speaker 2: maybe it was, but like.
- 33:07Speaker 1: It was not that and I hate, like, I hate
- 33:08Speaker 1: how they did it. It was oh no, oh my god.
- 33:11Speaker 2: That was just people like missing the point completely, like
- 33:15Speaker 2: this man Ben Gay. Fam this ain't okay, Like this
- 33:18Speaker 2: is this is like Ben Gay, like that bad joke
- 33:22Speaker 2: in the eighties. You know Ben Gay. You know you've
- 33:24Speaker 2: been good? Yeah, no, yeah, my man has been gay, folks.
- 33:28Speaker 2: He like, his character has never been straight. He has
- 33:31Speaker 2: been gay. He's been in the closet dealing with it
- 33:34Speaker 2: from the very beginning. While the coming out wasn't handled
- 33:38Speaker 2: so well. And Shorty's name I can't remember. But Eathan
- 33:41Speaker 2: Halt's daughter, I really loved the conversation that they had,
- 33:46Speaker 2: Like the conversation that she had with Will, that her
- 33:49Speaker 2: character at Will where it encouraged him to come out.
- 33:53Speaker 2: I thought that was really fired. Like her conversation and
- 33:56Speaker 2: her experiences as a lesbian woman in the eighties and
- 34:00Speaker 2: dealing with everything, and her explaining that to Will, like
- 34:03Speaker 2: that shit made me tear up, you know, And how
- 34:06Speaker 2: Will was you know, it was dope because Will wasn't
- 34:09Speaker 2: even talking to her about that. He was, you know,
- 34:10Speaker 2: more talking about the powers and everything, but it was
- 34:13Speaker 2: all related and him coming out allowed him to use
- 34:17Speaker 2: his power to the photos to finally beat Vetna, et cetera.
- 34:20Speaker 2: So that was cool. You know. There were certain things
- 34:23Speaker 2: that you know, I did not like, just like everyone
- 34:25Speaker 2: else did. But in general, some of the beef that
- 34:29Speaker 2: people had with it, where people were coming up this
- 34:31Speaker 2: whole conspiracy that there was to be yet more episodes
- 34:34Speaker 2: and this was a dream sequence by Victna and all
- 34:37Speaker 2: that was just like fam This was never something where
- 34:40Speaker 2: you know, a bunch of characters were gonna die. I
- 34:42Speaker 2: thought so at times, you know, but R Martin st Yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 2: but as I got to the end, I was like,
- 34:48Speaker 2: this really doesn't need to be that. Like we've had
- 34:51Speaker 2: characters die and it just sucks. You know. That was like,
- 34:54Speaker 2: like it sucks seeing the characters go through what happened
- 34:57Speaker 2: last season watching him deal with it this year so much. Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 2: that was rough man. So and you know, people like Max,
- 35:04Speaker 2: you know and Lucas like, no, you know, I needed
- 35:07Speaker 2: my babies to get together at the end, you know,
- 35:09Speaker 2: and I was so happy for that, you know, like
- 35:12Speaker 2: I needed the two black characters on the show. She's redheaded,
- 35:18Speaker 2: but you know I love Matt and lucas Sadie Sink.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I want to say, is at the name she's rumored
- 35:29Speaker 2: to be rumored to be playing Jean Gray and the
- 35:33Speaker 2: New Spider Man. Yeah, because she's gonna be in Spider
- 35:36Speaker 2: Man and in Secret Wars, and so people are like,
- 35:39Speaker 2: who else could be redheaded and needs to be in
- 35:43Speaker 2: Secret Wars and Spider Man. So the rumors are that
- 35:47Speaker 2: she is. There's going to be a trailer for Spider Man.
- 35:50Speaker 2: It's actually leaked out. I had to watch it, but
- 35:53Speaker 2: I didn't want to watch it. It was really roughly
- 35:56Speaker 2: but it seems to be dropping by super Bowl or
- 35:59Speaker 2: at Super Bowl, so that's from it very soon so
- 36:01Speaker 2: we'll know more. But rumors are that she's either Jean
- 36:06Speaker 2: Gray or Firestar for those who member Spider Man and
- 36:10Speaker 2: his Amazing Friends the old cartoon, who's another redheaded character
- 36:14Speaker 2: from Marvel. But I'd lean more on the Jean Gray
- 36:18Speaker 2: being that important, you know, to be I don't know,
- 36:20Speaker 2: maybe Firestars somehow meant to make it. Who knows. We'll
- 36:24Speaker 2: find out soon, but I think Sadie's an incredible actress
- 36:27Speaker 2: and I can't wait to see more of what she
- 36:29Speaker 2: does either way, so I'm happy she's getting it. Big
- 36:32Speaker 2: head who plays what's the name, He also needs to
- 36:35Speaker 2: be in All Yeah, he needs to be in Marvel Man.
- 36:38Speaker 2: People have been saying, and they said he's having a
- 36:40Speaker 2: meating right now. Actually, and what I was.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Gonna say was I find it interesting. There's just certain
- 36:48Speaker 1: singular black kid that has just finished this season that
- 36:53Speaker 1: mysteriously took up martial arts and like gymnastics right after this.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I mean, granted they've been filmed this, but right after
- 37:00Speaker 1: the season like finale premiere.
- 37:02Speaker 2: We've been talking about him for miles.
- 37:04Speaker 1: He mysteriously started posting videos of him doing martial arts
- 37:09Speaker 1: and as mentioned, gymnastics and doing side flips and bullshit.
- 37:13Speaker 1: And I was like, wait a minute, you ain't doing
- 37:15Speaker 1: what I think you're doing, is you?
- 37:17Speaker 2: I mean, he ain't got no Dominican in him though,
- 37:20Speaker 2: right Puerto Rican.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Dominican people are black. I know black, I know black
- 37:24Speaker 1: Dominican no, No, but I mean he is.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Not Dominican like as far as like, isn't Miles likes to.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Be Miles is supposed to be Afro Latino? Yeah, Kaylen McLachlan,
- 37:35Speaker 1: As I mean, I'm gonna look at his background. I
- 37:37Speaker 1: don't think his I don't.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that was more people from plaint when
- 37:41Speaker 2: they said that he might do it. I ain't one
- 37:45Speaker 2: of them people, you know what I mean?
- 37:46Speaker 1: But I do understand.
- 37:49Speaker 2: I do feel them.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I understand.
- 37:52Speaker 2: And what about young Black Panther.
- 37:55Speaker 1: And maybe, but again, it was just very it was giving,
- 37:59Speaker 1: It was giving Marvel So I was just like, Kalub,
- 38:02Speaker 1: what you what you're trying to show us?
- 38:03Speaker 2: So yeah, Speaking of films, I don't know if I
- 38:06Speaker 2: mentioned this on the show, but I recently watched F
- 38:09Speaker 2: One with Damnson Address and Brad Pitt. I did mention
- 38:13Speaker 2: the cinematographer one.
- 38:15Speaker 1: I want to see F one so I still haven't seen.
- 38:16Speaker 2: I want to see It's It's okay. Is the cinematography,
- 38:20Speaker 2: especially during the races, is stunning. Like I wish I'd
- 38:24Speaker 2: seen that in the theaters. I'll say that it was stunny.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I watched it all my Big Ast TV and it
- 38:28Speaker 2: was fire as fuck. But I should have seen this
- 38:31Speaker 2: in theater.
- 38:32Speaker 1: That's for the last scene. It's a scene that looks
- 38:34Speaker 1: like really bad copy paste c G.
- 38:36Speaker 2: I I fireworks I might have zoned out, but other
- 38:41Speaker 2: fireworks I might have zoned out of.
- 38:42Speaker 1: It was like really like particularly bad. It was like
- 38:44Speaker 1: we have two dollars. Yeah, it was like the end
- 38:51Speaker 1: So the movie is not.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Like I say, the movie is okay. Is where I
- 38:54Speaker 2: was zoning out by like the last twenty thirty.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I mean it was kind of like Avatar fire and
- 38:59Speaker 1: Ash level was bad where it's like niggas just fuck
- 39:02Speaker 1: it at the end.
- 39:03Speaker 2: High once Brad Pitt's character really took over the movie,
- 39:06Speaker 2: I gave up. But what I really, what I really
- 39:08Speaker 2: wanted to say is at one point, Damnseon Interest is
- 39:11Speaker 2: running with his shirt off and they have him lit
- 39:14Speaker 2: with this purple light and as a big don't we
- 39:18Speaker 2: cast to Charlotte, or at least until Coodler and fam
- 39:22Speaker 2: you know, have gotten through their grief and want to
- 39:25Speaker 2: tell that story. When I saw my man running with
- 39:28Speaker 2: his shirt off in the purple light, I was like,
- 39:30Speaker 2: fuck my my key, you know, I just saw it.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I was like this nigga's like this Nigga's the one.
- 39:41Speaker 2: You know, it's the purple light the shirt off. I
- 39:46Speaker 2: was like, you put that silver chain on my neck,
- 39:48Speaker 2: on my man's neck, and it's like.
- 39:50Speaker 1: You know.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Me, this die.
- 39:59Speaker 1: You know, every time I hear I just I just
- 40:01Speaker 1: see okay, okoy, hear okay, just screaming trying to fucking potpourri,
- 40:07Speaker 1: and I get crazy, I get I lose it every time.
- 40:12Speaker 2: So yeah, no, Damn Son is going to play to
- 40:15Speaker 2: Challa or to Challa variant in Secret Wars. I'm pretty
- 40:20Speaker 2: nred percent.
- 40:22Speaker 1: You just can't cast every fit black man to be,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you know, a variation with a child.
- 40:27Speaker 2: No, I know, but like I said, when I saw
- 40:29Speaker 2: that man running into purple, now, I'm not talking about
- 40:31Speaker 2: a variation like this. This Nigga's going to take over
- 40:33Speaker 2: the role, you know, like he is going to like
- 40:36Speaker 2: if Marvel wants to do that, you know, in any way,
- 40:39Speaker 2: shape or form, it is going to be him, like
- 40:43Speaker 2: you just okay.
- 40:44Speaker 1: So so so since you're having we're having a Marvel
- 40:47Speaker 1: chat now I have to discuss with you, Well we
- 40:49Speaker 1: haven't had a chance to which is our sentiments around
- 40:52Speaker 1: all the multiple doomsday trailer drops and how he felt
- 40:56Speaker 1: about or feeling about them and aggregate or if anyone
- 40:59Speaker 1: really out to you or was it all met? The
- 41:01Speaker 1: Wakanda one drop today, and I will say this is
- 41:05Speaker 1: the only one thus far that has got me excited. Now,
- 41:08Speaker 1: it could be biased, it could be a lot of things,
- 41:10Speaker 1: but this, let me let me rephrase, this is the
- 41:15Speaker 1: only when I got me overly excited. Because the X
- 41:17Speaker 1: Men one did get me excited, it's fucking hard, But
- 41:24Speaker 1: all the other ones, the ones with Thor and Captain America,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I was like, all right, whatever guy's like, and I
- 41:33Speaker 1: know I hope that there's going to be a curve thrown.
- 41:37Speaker 1: But it's just like, at first, all these different trailers
- 41:40Speaker 1: was just like, first of all, this is stuff they've
- 41:42Speaker 1: been telling you for years that's about to happen with
- 41:44Speaker 1: Doomsday with this film and what to expect, Like we
- 41:47Speaker 1: know everybody named Moms is coming back, We know this,
- 41:50Speaker 1: you know mad heads got it, But in what way
- 41:54Speaker 1: and in what capacity?
- 41:55Speaker 2: Right?
- 41:56Speaker 1: And it's almost feeling like they're trying to do a
- 42:00Speaker 1: Infinity War level event. But it's also like there is
- 42:04Speaker 1: still the fatigue of people saying, oh, but they're using
- 42:06Speaker 1: these old niggas again, and I really hope that's kind
- 42:09Speaker 1: of like a red herring approach to like throw people off,
- 42:12Speaker 1: and that it's really going to really throw them for
- 42:15Speaker 1: a loop, throw us for a loop by the time
- 42:18Speaker 1: like the full picture is able to be shown. Like
- 42:20Speaker 1: I'm because again, a lot of the sentiment online, even
- 42:24Speaker 1: as mentioned some of mine, has been like for the
- 42:26Speaker 1: first FU trailer, I was just like, all right, whatever,
- 42:29Speaker 1: Like I wasn't hype.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I don't know how you felt, Okay. What the Russos
- 42:33Speaker 2: did say about this is that all the trailers what
- 42:37Speaker 2: we've seen are not trailers. They're not teasers, they're just clues.
- 42:41Speaker 2: So that leads me to think that pretty much none
- 42:43Speaker 2: of this footage will be in the movies, probably.
- 42:47Speaker 1: All the time, but even the trailers that it is
- 42:50Speaker 1: not Actually, yeah, if.
- 42:52Speaker 2: You go back and watch the I know for a fact,
- 42:55Speaker 2: there's that famous shot of everyone running towards the camera
- 42:59Speaker 2: in the Infinity War trailer, and that's just not in
- 43:01Speaker 2: the film at all. So that being said, I don't
- 43:05Speaker 2: think most of this will be in it, and I'm
- 43:08Speaker 2: still cautiously optimistic for fair Doomsday. My optimism realized in
- 43:15Speaker 2: the fact that I like the Russos. You know, most
- 43:18Speaker 2: of their work since they've left Marvel has been mid
- 43:21Speaker 2: at best to me. But Doctor Doom and you know
- 43:25Speaker 2: RDJ as Doctor Doom I'm down for especially because I'm
- 43:29Speaker 2: sticking to what they've said is that it is Victor
- 43:33Speaker 2: von Doom and not a Tony Stark variant right underneath
- 43:37Speaker 2: the mask.
- 43:37Speaker 1: I will say. One of the reasons why this Will
- 43:40Speaker 1: Conda trailer got me overly excited is particularly especially I
- 43:43Speaker 1: mean everything love, sry, love and Bacca all that, especially
- 43:46Speaker 1: the end and the reference to the comics and the
- 43:49Speaker 1: reference to the first appearance of T'Challa, and the connection
- 43:53Speaker 1: with the Fantastic Four and seeing ben Grim like that,
- 43:56Speaker 1: like bang Grim meeting in Baku like that shit, that
- 44:00Speaker 1: ship is what for me dreams are made of when
- 44:02Speaker 1: you see this stuff come to life and live action.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Oh that's what you mean by reference is the fact
- 44:07Speaker 2: that Charla first meets the Fantastic Four, correct, yes, correct?
- 44:11Speaker 1: So for in Baku to being King of Wakona now
- 44:15Speaker 1: to be the first you get it, and that you
- 44:18Speaker 1: know when they say clues right like yeah, you know,
- 44:21Speaker 1: and obviously it's there's there's levels to it, right about
- 44:24Speaker 1: what knowledge you have or don't have of the comics
- 44:26Speaker 1: or stories or whatever, but like, that's one of them.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So I saw that, and I was just like, brow
- 44:31Speaker 1: that that that that's that's amazing. And again, even knowledge
- 44:35Speaker 1: take away the knowledge of what's knowing the characters and
- 44:37Speaker 1: the stories, it's still just like, that's fucking cool to
- 44:40Speaker 1: see like those two characters you would never think meet
- 44:43Speaker 1: fucking you know, dapping each other up or whatever like that.
- 44:45Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying when I say dreams are made
- 44:47Speaker 1: of like that. Get that is what lured me into
- 44:51Speaker 1: the MCU in the first place. Like, oh my god,
- 44:53Speaker 1: I never would have thought I was seeing that on screen. Yes, right,
- 44:57Speaker 1: that's what made me. And that's why I say this
- 44:59Speaker 1: is the first show like me overly excited.
- 45:02Speaker 2: And my man Evan right, that's his name, who's playing
- 45:05Speaker 2: Ben Grims, Yeah, is killing it as Ben grim And
- 45:09Speaker 2: you know, and Baku already has you know the years.
- 45:13Speaker 2: He's one of those charricors, Evan Moss not yeah, he's
- 45:17Speaker 2: you know, and Baku, you know, he's one of those
- 45:20Speaker 2: characters who now you know, he's like when he's an
- 45:23Speaker 2: he's an avenger, you know what I mean He's one
- 45:26Speaker 2: of those characters who's had the years of experience and
- 45:29Speaker 2: for us watching him, years of us growing with him
- 45:32Speaker 2: from being the dude screaming to people to being King
- 45:35Speaker 2: of Wakanda now, so we've had that. So when he
- 45:39Speaker 2: shows up in Doomsday, it'll carry that emotional feeling we're
- 45:43Speaker 2: looking for. And then because Evan's killing it, even though
- 45:46Speaker 2: the fantasm forwards, you know, it's a cool movie whatever,
- 45:49Speaker 2: they killed it, seeing them meet up has that. That's
- 45:53Speaker 2: why I feel like, for you and for me, this
- 45:55Speaker 2: is one of the ones where this trailer really got
- 45:58Speaker 2: us because Ta's just like, Okay, it's Store and his daughter,
- 46:01Speaker 2: and we might okay, yeah, and it was cool to
- 46:05Speaker 2: see Cyclode finally unleashed, but this is what the Avengerance
- 46:09Speaker 2: movies are about. Two characters who should not meet meeting.
- 46:13Speaker 2: You know, that was always for me, but like you know,
- 46:17Speaker 2: from like I'm like, I was a I mean, I'm
- 46:20Speaker 2: a grower man now, but I was a you know,
- 46:22Speaker 2: pretty young grown man when I saw the visit, I
- 46:24Speaker 2: was growing and I was fucking screaming in that theater
- 46:28Speaker 2: because those moments and everyone in there was screaming, you know,
- 46:32Speaker 2: it was just moments that we've been waiting for to
- 46:34Speaker 2: see since the childhood. Just the idea of Thor coming
- 46:38Speaker 2: down and smashing and Captain America standing strong with the Shield,
- 46:43Speaker 2: you know, not because he can take it, but because
- 46:45Speaker 2: the Shield can take it. You know. It's like, that's
- 46:48Speaker 2: like those moments I've been waiting because I've read him
- 46:50Speaker 2: a million times in comics. So like you say, you know,
- 46:53Speaker 2: the first meeting of the Wakondas and the Fantastic Four,
- 46:58Speaker 2: you know, boom on screen, Like that is the type
- 47:01Speaker 2: of shit. You know, that's what Avengers movies, and that's
- 47:04Speaker 2: what they've really grown to be, even you know the
- 47:06Speaker 2: first one, just the first five, but like you know,
- 47:08Speaker 2: didn't buy the second one, and you know Civil War
- 47:11Speaker 2: even which might as well be an Avengeance movie because
- 47:14Speaker 2: that was you know, you've got a metal arm, you know,
- 47:16Speaker 2: that type of shit you know is yeah, you know,
- 47:19Speaker 2: Spider Man just casually whooping these niggas asses because he's
- 47:23Speaker 2: Spider Man, you know, and they're a dude with a
- 47:25Speaker 2: metal arm.
- 47:26Speaker 1: You know, that's the moments I will say, like even
- 47:29Speaker 1: things that were done for comedic effect but still have
- 47:34Speaker 1: some pure sentimental value to me even seeing things like
- 47:38Speaker 1: and I'm saying comedy for a reason, Gambit like channing things,
- 47:42Speaker 1: even though he takes that role very seriously when we
- 47:45Speaker 1: and and really he is a fan favorite, like I
- 47:46Speaker 1: actually love him as Gambit and the fucking comic book
- 47:50Speaker 1: accurate suit, which is completely out of whack with everything
- 47:54Speaker 1: you've seen in them to you thus far. Yeah, but
- 47:57Speaker 1: still to see that, that's what I'm talking about, to
- 47:59Speaker 1: see that all translated bar for bar, and then even
- 48:02Speaker 1: like showing his powers that I was just sitting there,
- 48:05Speaker 1: like I think it was Wolverine and de Pool where
- 48:07Speaker 1: he was fighting and he showed with the cards I
- 48:10Speaker 1: was saying, They're like this is where I wanted to see,
- 48:13Speaker 1: Like this is this is I'm just saying, and I
- 48:17Speaker 1: want to see some shit I had not seen before.
- 48:20Speaker 1: And that's and that's I think that's also what's driving
- 48:22Speaker 1: a lot of the the discourse online about Oh, I
- 48:25Speaker 1: don't you know why they're showing us these old niggas,
- 48:28Speaker 1: Like no one wants to see that, Like and I
- 48:31Speaker 1: granted these are clues and they're doing they have a
- 48:33Speaker 1: stepped approach and they have strategy. It's just we are
- 48:37Speaker 1: hungry for excitement, and I think for me anyway, this
- 48:40Speaker 1: Wakanda trailer really started that.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Yeah, because like I said, this is the first one
- 48:46Speaker 2: where I was like, Okay, some of these characters I
- 48:49Speaker 2: have lived with long enough. Cause that's my biggest issue, is.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Like you've been here long enough, son.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Yeah. It feels like this Avengers movies, like I'm sorry,
- 48:57Speaker 2: I've only seen Change she in one joint. Now I
- 49:00Speaker 2: want to see him. Yeah, I want to see him
- 49:03Speaker 2: in this event. And I hope he's gonna be in
- 49:05Speaker 2: this joint. I don't even know yet, but that's what
- 49:07Speaker 2: I'm saying. It's like a lot of these characters I
- 49:09Speaker 2: have not seen. Where's you know, Monica round bo is
- 49:13Speaker 2: in another universe right now with these X Men. Maybe
- 49:16Speaker 2: he's with the X Men.
- 49:18Speaker 1: All the Marvels was with the x Men.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but which x Men? You know? That's the thing.
- 49:21Speaker 2: It's like who knows, you know, to be like, ain't
- 49:24Speaker 2: this one? Yeah? They might all get murdered in a castle. Yeah,
- 49:28Speaker 2: so who knows. But I'm not sure who is making
- 49:32Speaker 2: up the Avengers. But like seeing in Baku and being like, okay,
- 49:36Speaker 2: in Baku, surey, both of them. I have seen him
- 49:38Speaker 2: go through so much, so to be really fired to
- 49:41Speaker 2: see them meet other characters who they haven't.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Met yet, and Wan seeing God, I was so happy
- 49:48Speaker 1: to see him too.
- 49:48Speaker 2: I was like this, nigga, don't play so man, you know,
- 49:53Speaker 2: you know, I mean they more from the comments, like
- 49:56Speaker 2: he got his run in Wakanda forever. But he just
- 50:00Speaker 2: deserves so much because name More is one of the ones,
- 50:03Speaker 2: you know, name More as a character who deserves their
- 50:06Speaker 2: own movie, their own you know, at least shining in
- 50:10Speaker 2: an Avengers film at the very least.
- 50:13Speaker 1: So we're good over under. This movie is gonna be
- 50:15Speaker 1: three hours long.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Three hours at least, at least. I saw one thing,
- 50:21Speaker 2: say three hours forty minutes. I think that's ridiculous. I
- 50:24Speaker 2: can't see that, but I do see at least three hours.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Guys, I have a job, can't can't do that so hours.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I need it, but I do.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I do think it's going to be trending. I think
- 50:33Speaker 1: it's gonna be trending towards three hours.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I want three hours plus and jet that into
- 50:37Speaker 2: my veins. I need it, especially if I need it,
- 50:41Speaker 2: you know, especially, I mean, like I know that the
- 50:45Speaker 2: writing team, it's only one of the brothers for who
- 50:49Speaker 2: you know is a brother writing team Christopher and Steven.
- 50:52Speaker 2: I think who I'm not just sure of their brothers,
- 50:54Speaker 2: but there was their writing team who did the whole Runner,
- 50:58Speaker 2: Captain American movies and then Infinish War and End Game,
- 51:01Speaker 2: and yeah, I think they were just crucial to Marvel.
- 51:04Speaker 1: What a track record?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I mean. I just think they're crucial.
- 51:08Speaker 2: Only one of them has come back for this now
- 51:11Speaker 2: I'm hoping that only one of them came back officially
- 51:14Speaker 2: in there comparing notes and all that, you know, talking
- 51:16Speaker 2: with friends, shit, because I feel like they're a team
- 51:19Speaker 2: supreme and I need them.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Man said, it's a team sport.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Yeah, man, because what y'all like when like, one thing
- 51:27Speaker 2: I love is watch the commentary on Infinity War because
- 51:31Speaker 2: they're talking on it and they explain a lot of
- 51:34Speaker 2: great things about writing. But one thing they point out
- 51:37Speaker 2: is like our script is so damn pat that you
- 51:40Speaker 2: have to start listening from the moment the Marvel sign
- 51:43Speaker 2: goes up because there's voices talking what's his name is
- 51:47Speaker 2: sending out a distress message from the ship that Thanos
- 51:51Speaker 2: is attacking with all the ast Guardians, and he displays
- 51:54Speaker 2: to you that half of them are dead. All this
- 51:56Speaker 2: stuff that happens, and this is as the Marvel screen is.
- 52:01Speaker 2: You know, all this is being explained. He's like, that's
- 52:03Speaker 2: how deep it is up until you know the moment
- 52:06Speaker 2: the movie's.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Over, pay attention and do not be talking.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and it never stops rolling. That's why I love
- 52:11Speaker 2: Infinity War. It's one of my favorite scripts because it's
- 52:13Speaker 2: just the end. You know, even though it's three hours,
- 52:18Speaker 2: it nothing is you know, the fat is trimmed off
- 52:22Speaker 2: that hole it is.
- 52:23Speaker 1: It's just like and this is what it is, and
- 52:24Speaker 1: you're sitting there like, oh.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Shit, it's over. Yeah. One other Marvel thing before we
- 52:30Speaker 2: do get to these Golden clothes and whatever else we
- 52:33Speaker 2: got to talk about. Is I have to distress this.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I know this has been going around, but I really
- 52:38Speaker 2: feel like Marvel, I have to say. I feel like
- 52:42Speaker 2: they're relying on black people to talk about wonder man.
- 52:46Speaker 1: They are Listen. I know it's only because of the
- 52:50Speaker 1: algorithm that I'm receiving because I clicked on it once,
- 52:53Speaker 1: Like I ain't seen that. The way Instagram works now
- 52:56Speaker 1: is like if you want to see something, you gotta
- 52:59Speaker 1: like it. Yeah, Harded do something, you know, put an
- 53:02Speaker 1: emoji on it, do something, or you'll never fucking see
- 53:04Speaker 1: it in your feet again. So the home and so
- 53:06Speaker 1: I had not seen nothing, wonder Man anything for the longest,
- 53:11Speaker 1: and then finally an ad appeared. So I mean it
- 53:13Speaker 1: was like, let me get let me engaged so I
- 53:16Speaker 1: can keep it on my feed. And then ever since then,
- 53:18Speaker 1: literally pretty much every week, I've just been getting like
- 53:21Speaker 1: more and more. But I think it's because I'm black.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I think it's because I'm black. I think it's because
- 53:27Speaker 1: I'm rooting for yah Ya do my teen the second Uh.
- 53:30Speaker 1: He's an incredible actor in general. But I will also admit,
- 53:35Speaker 1: even from a personal standpoint, that the tone of the
- 53:38Speaker 1: show isn't one that I'm necessarily vibing with right away.
- 53:43Speaker 1: And that's only only because I have like no idea
- 53:45Speaker 1: what's going on. And also I don't know the characters,
- 53:48Speaker 1: so I don't know why it should care. So I
- 53:50Speaker 1: don't have the same level of excitement even being a
- 53:52Speaker 1: black verson, I don't have the same level of excitement
- 53:54Speaker 1: of just even wanting to support. I'm just like, I
- 53:59Speaker 1: got to see what's going on first. But the problem
- 54:02Speaker 1: still remains day to your point. Back to what you said,
- 54:05Speaker 1: they are relying on that and that alone the root
- 54:09Speaker 1: for everybody black approach. But he needs more than that.
- 54:15Speaker 2: And it's really it is really interesting that they are
- 54:19Speaker 2: taking this approach right because it's being produced and directed
- 54:25Speaker 2: by a lot of a lot of episodes were directed
- 54:27Speaker 2: by Dustin Daniel Creton, who is first of all, Dustin
- 54:32Speaker 2: was supposed to direct the New Avengers when it was
- 54:36Speaker 2: Avengers that King saga, and we all know what happened
- 54:39Speaker 2: to that won, But Dustin, you know, kept on moving
- 54:44Speaker 2: and is now doing the finishing touches on Spider Man
- 54:48Speaker 2: motherfucking brand New Day, which is you know, the Big
- 54:52Speaker 2: Spider Man, and this man's probably gonna do the new
- 54:55Speaker 2: trilogy straight through from that, you know, if he wants to,
- 55:00Speaker 2: because it's looking like Spider Man Brand New Days. Don't
- 55:02Speaker 2: be fire people, you know, the rumors about what everything's
- 55:06Speaker 2: going on. There's i mean, the punishments in it, Hulks
- 55:09Speaker 2: in it, potentially Jane Gray's in it. You know, this
- 55:12Speaker 2: shit is all over the place, might be lit. So
- 55:15Speaker 2: Destin is a good track record. He did change g
- 55:18Speaker 2: which was fire and I don't get it, you know,
- 55:22Speaker 2: I just don't get why Marvel would not be hyping
- 55:25Speaker 2: wonder Man more than they are. Other than that, they're like,
- 55:28Speaker 2: we'll just save money and let y'all black people talk
- 55:30Speaker 2: about it because we know y'all gonna talk about it
- 55:32Speaker 2: because it's got a black.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Dude there, right, and not does anybody do like a
- 55:35Speaker 1: visible black dude too? I mean, the nigga was the fucking.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Watchman and wonder Man like, it's not the Manhattan like
- 55:45Speaker 2: the guy like. And for me, you know, as someone
- 55:49Speaker 2: who grew up, you know, reading the comments heavy everything,
- 55:51Speaker 2: wonder Man is I wouldn't say one of my favorite characters,
- 55:54Speaker 2: but he was a prominent character. He's a prominent member
- 55:57Speaker 2: of the Avengers. His story is his name is Simon Williams.
- 56:02Speaker 2: He is an engineer inventor whose company is a rival
- 56:06Speaker 2: to Tony Stark, but he never gets a popping because
- 56:09Speaker 2: Tony Stark as Tony Stark, and so eventually he gets
- 56:12Speaker 2: in with some mobsters or some type of criminal element.
- 56:15Speaker 2: They convince him to do some shit where they give
- 56:19Speaker 2: him powers and he can join the Avengers, and he's like, yeah,
- 56:21Speaker 2: I can finally do it, so you know, Tony Stark,
- 56:23Speaker 2: I'll be an Avenger myself, but then he betrays the Avengers.
- 56:27Speaker 2: The powers fade out and my man goes into kind
- 56:30Speaker 2: of dies throws into a coma type thing. This way
- 56:33Speaker 2: the story gets while the convoluted, and I've towards the
- 56:36Speaker 2: story before and falling us while dead, Ultron steals his
- 56:40Speaker 2: brain patterns and creates the visions. So in the Marvel
- 56:43Speaker 2: Comics Division's brain patterns, at least originally, I don't know
- 56:46Speaker 2: what it is. Now we're based on Simon Williams. Wonder Man.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Simon Williams comes back to life. The Vision falls in
- 56:54Speaker 2: love with Strala Wich as we all know Mary strala Witch.
- 56:59Speaker 2: They have adventures and children that you've seen in WandaVision
- 57:02Speaker 2: and other Marvel properties. Eventually, wonder Man's like, yo, man,
- 57:06Speaker 2: you have my brain patterns. I love Charlie, which you
- 57:09Speaker 2: know it's a classic soap Opa triangle love triangle. Yeah,
- 57:14Speaker 2: so it was great, you know, yeah, so wonder But
- 57:17Speaker 2: wonder Man is a super powerful character. He's damn near
- 57:20Speaker 2: and vulnerable. He's made of what they call ionic energy,
- 57:24Speaker 2: so he can Eventually he learns how to shoot the
- 57:26Speaker 2: energy out of himself. He can do energy blasts, he
- 57:28Speaker 2: can fly, he's super strong. He's one of the ones,
- 57:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean. He goes total toe with
- 57:34Speaker 2: people like the Hulk and shit. So wonder Man is
- 57:37Speaker 2: a dope character. And he's also in the comics an actor.
- 57:41Speaker 2: You know, in the comics, he basically uses his fame
- 57:44Speaker 2: as a superhero to become an actor on a sports
- 57:46Speaker 2: nigga type and staring a bunch of action.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Movies, which is hilarious.
- 57:50Speaker 2: It is hilarious. Yeah, because wonder Man was one of
- 57:52Speaker 2: the West Past Avengers, Like, you know, they had the
- 57:54Speaker 2: team who lives in New York and then they formed
- 57:56Speaker 2: another team who lived on the West Past. And so
- 57:59Speaker 2: because that, he's like, fucking I'm in Hollywood. You know, shit,
- 58:01Speaker 2: I'll become a superstar. So he does. Or you know, actually,
- 58:05Speaker 2: I think he's supposed to be not that good an
- 58:06Speaker 2: actis sode, not like superstars more like on the Sports
- 58:09Speaker 2: Nigga's Life, you know whatever, But on the first nigga
- 58:11Speaker 2: was superstar, so or is. But yeah, wonder Man is
- 58:14Speaker 2: a dope, solid character. I'm excited for Yaya. I'm excited
- 58:18Speaker 2: because of their credentials behind it. I like the maddness
- 58:21Speaker 2: approach that they're taking where we see that in the trailers.
- 58:25Speaker 2: He does seem to have powers, but he also just
- 58:27Speaker 2: seems to be an actor who is trying to make
- 58:29Speaker 2: it in Hollywood in the MCU, and I think that's
- 58:33Speaker 2: a really dope you know, that's like something different we
- 58:34Speaker 2: haven't seen, so I don't get it. They're dropping all
- 58:38Speaker 2: eight episodes at once on January twenty seventh, will have
- 58:43Speaker 2: a review. Windy embargo drops on this month. Yeah, I
- 58:49Speaker 2: mean January twenty second. I think it's the Social embargo,
- 58:52Speaker 2: so look out for that once it goes off on Social.
- 58:55Speaker 2: I'm pretty much wonta say I won't spoil anything, but
- 58:58Speaker 2: I will say everything that I have been feeling. And
- 59:02Speaker 2: I don't get it, you know what.
- 59:03Speaker 1: I meant why? I mean, it's just again the pattern
- 59:06Speaker 1: of Marvel and how not just that just how because
- 59:13Speaker 1: it's a formula. You can tell when they don't have
- 59:15Speaker 1: faith in the projects, they do it the same way
- 59:18Speaker 1: all time. Or we're just gonna drop all the episodes
- 59:19Speaker 1: and then we're gonna let for all nerds everybody else
- 59:23Speaker 1: review it like a week before it drops, or you
- 59:26Speaker 1: know whatever, like we don't get it months ahead, like
- 59:28Speaker 1: we may get something else right, We don't get the
- 59:31Speaker 1: screenings weeks ahead like we do other things. We don't
- 59:34Speaker 1: get the incessant, NonStop marketing bomb that you get with
- 59:39Speaker 1: certain other properties than you know with Wonder Man. So
- 59:43Speaker 1: it's just like we see you, we see how y'all
- 59:47Speaker 1: doing this. So it's just like, could y'all, like, you know,
- 59:49Speaker 1: change the game a little bit live to me a
- 59:51Speaker 1: little bit baby out though, Like it's just like bruh,
- 59:54Speaker 1: you don't. It's to feel a studio not have faith
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: makes you question the project. Yeah, not fair, I understand,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: and I agree. So my fear and it's like it's
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: not it's it doesn't give it time to to really
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: like grow and have a chance. But that's what happens.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: And I don't. I can't say no more. But I
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: don't understand it. You know, we are under end up
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: in DA n w A and I self not finished
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: the series. But from what I have seen, I do
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: not understand. That's what I can say. I do not understand.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Okay, let's close out with our conversation. We wanted to
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: talk about the global and.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Globes, but before we get to that, if you're gonna
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: close out, I do have to mention last night I
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: did get to see the new film.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sorry Patrol.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Yes, some vampire film. Yes. And also I want to
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: shout out to screening because it was very dope screening.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Thank you to the people who got me up in there.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: The vi P was much appreciated. It was real love.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: I was sitting right behind, uh, some of the actors
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: in the film. Freddie Gibbs was up in there, my man,
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: not justin long.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: R j R j R J Cycler, Siler, Syler, Cycler,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: he played the Blue Ranger.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and that it was wee years ago now, but
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: that which I mentioned over.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Really that was like that was the only thing he's done.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: He fall shout out to the hip hop gamer who
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: was the host and definitely had some you know, interesting
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: questions for everyone involved. It was directed by the book
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: of Clarence.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: I'm just saying there's a lot of things.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: He did a lot of things. Yeah, and the Blue
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Ranger got brought up a lot. It was it was interesting,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: like I said, a lot of interesting black lightning.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: But anyway, a lot of.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Things and a lot of interesting questions ran asked like
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: like not the ones I would ask, but you know
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: what I mean. Uh. Directed by Ryan Prow. Basically, it's
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: about vampires in La. The vampires are the Night They
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: are a subset of the lapd who are all white
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: boys and vampires, and they come into conflict with the
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Crips and the Bloods. CJ Uh Yeah, RJ. Siler, I'm
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: sorry not to c J. R J is a member
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: of the Crips. Freddie Gibbs is a member of the Bloods,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: and they must come together to battle these crackers vampires.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: And that's pretty much the movie. And it's like really solid,
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: is what I'll say. It is definitely a movie to
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: be seen in the theater with a bunch of black people,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: which I got to do last night, so you can
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: yell at the screen, you know, you can stream whatever.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: There's moments where the audience busts into applause. I was
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: really appreciative of the moments when they bust into applause,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: especially as it deals with police officers. You know, it's
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: well acted, well directed, I really, especially speaking of the directing,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: there was a lot of little not a lot, but
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: there was a couple of real dope little camera tricks
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: and oh kind of weirdness done with the shots, but
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: I really appreciated that, Okay. I also appreciate the tone
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: of the film where Freddie Gibbs and other characters are
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: unfazed by their being vampires. They pretty much expected. There's like, oh,
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: vampires is the vampires and the sham Shipherd's Lizaban. You
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: never know what's going to happen in Cali pretty much.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: So it's that type of thing which like a big
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: fan of Lost Boys that's always loved that, you know,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: because that's the same thing that happens as Lost Boys.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: Characters just know there are vampires in Cali straight up.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: So it's one of those type of films. Action is dope,
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: bloody gory. A lot of characters die that I did
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: not expect it, I'll say that. You know, it's like, damn,
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I thought he was gonna make it. He did not.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Justin Long, who most people know from comedy, I pretty
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: much know from comedy, plays a member of the LAPD
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: who wants to join the Knife Patrol for his own reasons.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: And so this is the first time you for me
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: seeing him play like a tough guy. I want to
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: say action but horror, and I thought he was great.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I mean actually really hilarious the points too, because even
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: if there's a horror, it's one of those things where
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: it's also comedy. All that comedy action horror blends. John
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: was very well, Okay, yeah, I really fucking enjoyed it, man, like,
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: you know, a great time night patroling. It's not like,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: you know, super deep. It ain't like Centers, you know, deep,
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: but there is a lot of blackness and African imagery
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: and ideals and history and culture being used to fight
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: against the vampires, which I really appreciated him like that. Yeah, yep,
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: definitely that that is, you know, even though I'm not
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: sure Bryan Prows appears to be a white man. I'm
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: not sure what he is, you know, but from parents, right, dude,
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: it's definitely where you know, it's got bit of that
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: blackness to it, you know, got flavor, yeah, flavor, and
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: very well used. Like the Crimson, the Bloods are not
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: there just to be there, and like I said, I
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: really like how they just approach it, like in the
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: very beginning. Well I don't want to, I don't want
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: to spoil anything, but they just you know, things happen.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: They're like, oh no, we ain't gonna let that evil
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: demonish it. You know, Let's build this uh temple power
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: over here to make sure we keep that off it.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: You know. It's that type of thing where they just
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: know what to do and they're ready to deal with it.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: So I thought that was dope.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Allegedly, and this is IMDb the films that inspired Night
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Patrol from Ryan Prowse. He says, the Lost Boys, of course,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Near Dark, Dracula, menace to society, the presidents, Prince of
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: the City, and the Thing.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Okay, don't know, Prince of the City of the Thing.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Definitely as any great horror or be inspired by that.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Lost Boys, Like I say, it's the fingerprints of Lost
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Boys are all over this, but the fingerprints of Lost
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Boys are over everything. Like I would say, even Centers
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: has a lot of debt to Lost Boys. So Last
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: of Us is just it's just one of those ones
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: when you talk about vampires and Near Dark. I didn't
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: see until two years ago, even though it came out
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: like around the same time as Last Boys. I always
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: thought of some fake ass Lost Boys. I didn't see it,
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: but it's not. And it's another one of the ones
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: that it's a really dope vampire movie. Because the word
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: vampires never mentioned once in Near Dark So it's it's
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: one of those things where, yeah, it's weird, you know,
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: it's like that. Yeah, it's like they're these guys who
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: we know are vampires, but nobody ever says vampire, and
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: they're really near dark It's like they are desperate vampires.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Like they're driving around in a Winnebago that they have
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: to put sheets and shit over the windows so that
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: they don't get cooked by the sun every day, you know,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: but they are around man immediately, Yeah, they're like driving
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: town to town, menacing town to town in these small
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: towns so that no one will you know, catch them
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: and kill them because they're just not that tough. But
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: you know, four vampires to a bar full of suckers
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: is still a problem, and that's what it is. But
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Near Darkness was another one of those ones from like
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: this is a really dope take on vampires, and My
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Patrol is not like one of those one probably like
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: oh my god, but I think it, you know, it
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: does its job, like it's solid, and I think it
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: will be remembered in the canon of vampires. It's like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: you know, it's a good take on so.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Right, yes, just really quick shout out to sinners.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: For cinematic achievement or something.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Just hold on, we'll get there. Shout out to shout
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: out to sinners. And it was like Cinematic Box Officer,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: give is some some you know, the the here Nigga
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: dam Award.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I never even heard it before the the.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: You never heard of that war?
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Did anyone win this award before them?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cinematic and box office but literally it was
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: created to be a here nigga damn Like, but who
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: are not going to give all these You're not going
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: to give all these awards to the to the film
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: that actually was about something. But okay, well it made
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: a lot of money. Let me give you something. Let
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: me let me recognize you somewhere. Like they put K
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Pop Demon Hunter in the Mission Impossible F one and
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: Apostop Oh win Ash which had just come out, but
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: whatever they getting good and two was in it as well.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I just want to say shout out to centers, shout
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: outs to Ryank.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Barbie won this bitch. Yeah, but they created Chapter four
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: won this bitch.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: I don't know if I don't remember. John Wack came
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: first of Barbie. But they created Barbie, But from what
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I've read, they created because of Barbie.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Barbie won at first because they.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: Was like not trying to give it flowers anywhere else.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: It was like, but they can't.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Oh okay, the rest of those nominated did that year,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: then Wicked one and now Centers. Wow.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: So anyway, shout out she.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Was up against miss impossible trash.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Shout out to Ryan Kugler, who What I did really
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: enjoy is literally the entire night everybody who came up there,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: even if they were celebrating a completely different win, everyone
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: has something to say about Ryan Coogler. Everyone had praises,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: everyone had love, everyone had flowers, Kobe Shaos, Like, everybody
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: who went up there was just like Ryan fucking Coogler,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Center Center, Center, Centers. And you know why, because they
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: fucking had to, and just because he is brilliant. The
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: movie is brilliant, the screenplay is brilliant, everything about it
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: was brilliant. But also they were combating what was a
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: concerted effort by the media, by the industry to try
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: to bury the greatness that Centers is. We talk about that.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: We've been talking out back for the last with six months.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: You know, the Variety, the Variety article, the infamous Variety article,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: the top ten, you know, year end lists. I think
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: it was not Billboard. It was like Rolling Stone and
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: the rest of them. Who I think they're all owned
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: by the same people anyway, But like the year end
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: list of top movies of twenty twenty five centers nowhere
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: to be found, and you know, people like, what the
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: fuck you know? And it's one of those ones where
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: like even the white people was like, hold up, you're
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: going too far, and that's why, Like, I just think
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: it was an outsize and I liked it, but it
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: was an outside amount of like, Yo, Ryan really did
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: his thing. Let me make sure I put his name
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: in the conversation, even if I'm up here for that
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: has nothing to do with it, right, Like, I felt
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: like people were making it a pointed effort to do that.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: So I really appreciated that. She is my absolutely favorite, favorite, favorite,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: favorite favorite girl in the world, Tianna Taylor. I am
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: so happy for her for her winning a Golden Globe.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: This is one of Tiana's dreams. The fact that she's
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: a multi hyphen it entertainer of different magnitudes and music
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: movie all that stuff. I am so, so so happy
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: for her, and I screamed that said, for her to
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: win for the role of Perfidia in one battle after another,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: to me further cements how again the industry treats black
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: people in terms of what they reward.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Us for black women or not both. You're right, black women.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: That's black people. Because Denzel wins for the training day
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: but not Malcolm X.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Yeah right, And we can have the You could have
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: a conversation all day with various people about what was
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: someone's best roles. And again this is subjective, This is subjective.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: But Tiana's best role was actually one thousand miles, one
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: thousand and one miles or whatever.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: It was cool.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: And I'll pull up the actual name of the film
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: that has is that the.
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Dirty Little Secret type show No. A thousand. She was
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: in one of them shows that's.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Like the you know, uh one thousand and one was
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: the name of the of the movie. It was on Netflix.
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Oh okay, if.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: I'm not mistaken or peacock, it could be everywhere now.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: But okay, I know she I thought she was in
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: one of those shows where it's like, you know, a
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: bunch of women and people and you know, bad shit
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: happened in they.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: Passed, and sure, but that's not what I'm talking about.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: But I heard that's like she was killed. That is
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: what I'm saying. That'sitely.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard she killed for me on a subjective understanding,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: subjective whatever. Her best acting role was one thousand and one.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: And if you want to recognize her for her acting
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: as an actor, and granted, the the the did she
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: went for for lead?
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: Was it for supporting?
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: That's supporting, That is supporting. Granted, one thousand and one
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: is lead, so maybe you know whatever.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: But the stuff that came out this year, no.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: That was one I came out twenty twenty three. Okay, yeah,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: well I'm just saying, like the point that I'm trying
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: to make then is that it's continuous examples of the
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: things that they quote reward black people for.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, now is.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: What actually is of par to me?
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: Yes, now that that being said, and I feel you
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: I like her a lot, you know, I think, you know,
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: she's a great you know, multi hyphen it everything, and
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: I understand her people's dreams. But I think this ship's ass.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: You know, I'm sorry, Like that is like like you said,
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: I think it is the worst. How we're rewarded for
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: shit like this. Halle Berry comes to mind, you know,
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: being rewarded for Monster's Ball, you know, which I saw
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: in theaters.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Not her best role, and it's not a bad role,
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: but it's not her best as ever.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: I know he's you know, the worst, but I thought
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Sean Colmes was better in that movie than she was,
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Like I thought, you know, I saw the movie in
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: theaters with my sister and we were both sitting there
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: like this. It was like I was laughing, you know,
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: made me feel good, Like I started laughing during that
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: scene with her and Billy Bob Like anyway, we like
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: we said, we've been talking about this for a minute.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: We have a now infamous review where you can put
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: up all the coaches right now. You know, all the
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: comments are ridiculous to this day, to this day, but
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: I knew this was going to happen when I walked
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: out of the theater after seeing one bad after another,
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: I knew that it would be one of the films
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I still have. You have to see Marty Supreme, mainly
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: because I'm from what people tell me it is a
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: breaking bad of table tennis. Yeah, and I have no
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: interest in seeing yet another film, TV show, whatever featuring
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: her self destructive white man who destroys everything around him
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: with little or no consequences to achieve his goals. I'm
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: good on that. And people have already playing to me
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: that Marty suffers nothing but he does destroy everything. Well,
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: I'm sure that's entertaining. I just don't give a shit,
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: you know. And I think that putting that message out
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: in the world in twenty twenty five, that white men
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: should be able to achieve their goals by destroying everything
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: is a fucking terrible message. And I'm always one of
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: those people who thinks that a message in a movie
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: is just as important as being entertaining, because fuck that, Like,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: you know, you can't just say anything, and you just
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: can't make things about anything. Which was my biggest problem
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: with One Battle after another was that it was a
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: farce about revolution, and revolution is not something you joke
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: around with. And beyond that, if you do, you don't
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: make satires that punch down like that is not how
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: satire is done. Well, it shouldn't. Comedy in general shouldn't
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: be punching down like I feel like that's weak comedy
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: to punch down to people like great comedians to me,
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: always punch up. And if you're gonna do a satire,
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: you definitely have to punch up. And you cannot use
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: the imagery and the idea, ideas and just the thoughts
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: of people like the Black Panthers, the Young Lords, etcetera,
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: real revolutionaries. To have these people fucking and willing to
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: fuck in front of bombs and on and on and
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: all the things that we mentioned about you, that you
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: mentioned in your review, just completely disappointing on multiple levels.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: I just don't want to talk about it anymore, especially
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: in the year when you have a film Light Centers,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: which managed to be entertaining on so many levels, educational
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: on so many levels, and then to make all of
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: the goddamn money in the world, which is the real
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: barometer for success. Despite what anyone will tell you, none
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: of these films ever get you know, love, unless they
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: make bread, you know, never.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: Literally, up until December, it kept coming out over and
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: over again to the theaters and.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: It's don't come back into theaters this year. If don't
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: come back in the theaters next year, it's gonna be
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: one of the.
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: That's not normal, guys.
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you're you're never going to see something like
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: this again until Coodler made something else like this again. Whatever,
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: maybe not, but this is going to be one of
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: them rare. It's just gonna be fucking mind blowing to
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: everyone because it's gonna keep coming back Halloween. They'll probably
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: drop it again, you know, I don't know, doing an
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: anniversary on when it first dropped. You know, costume parties,
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: drop it again, fuck it, you know, it doesn't. It's
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: just one of these things where people will always want
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: to see this thing in theaters and it's just gonna
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: be an event for probably a long time coming. And
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: yet all you get is cinematic achievement, like you're compared
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: to Mission Impossible, which while I love the series, this
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: latest one was asked, Man, I've watched it again on
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: a plane recently. That's how bad it is. I didn't
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: even care when I got home and I stipped to
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: the plane sequence, and even the plane sequence is just like, Man,
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: this was not that that even.
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Bothered me as much as Fire and Ash did. The
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: fine inclusion did well, finance looked good.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: I mean, that was check at achievement.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: And yes it was a cinema It was the definition
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: of a cinematic box offiment whatever.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Yeah. No, but just for sinners to be reduced to
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: this is a problem. That's what it is. Are on
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: this list again, it's kind of like to.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Me, like the Participation Award. Yes, it's just like, okay,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: well we got to give them something because we're not
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: gonna let him win anything, i e. Snubby Michael B.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Jordan's or the lead actor role, the best performers, my
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: male actor role. And this is the first time so
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: I'm just like, objectively he was the best.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Well okay, no for lead actor. Did he lose to
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: dude for the Secret Agent?
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Okay, Now this has from up especially on my threads.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I got into it with some uh what from I'm
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: not even give you a gentleman, motherfucker, some dude from
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: Brazil who was calling Americans, you know, short studying it
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: because we hadn't seen Secret Agent and and eth No
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: Centric was the one that really made me like, h
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: y'all motherfuckers really don't know what it is in America,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: is what I You know, I've known this for a
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: long time, but it's like y'all have this view that
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: you know, Americans are Americans, and it's like yeah, I'm black.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I'm black.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: What like you're saying that we'reth no centric because we
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: don't appreciate the Secret Agent, which is to me features
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: a Latin almost white passing brother. You know, like I
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: love that. After dude, it's great, he's in that joint
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: with Brian Tyree Hill. I've seen him another ship, fantastic.
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: I can't wait to see the Secret Agent. They say
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: he plays three roles and kills it, you know what
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: I mean. But now, but does he deserve it over
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: Michael we Jordan. That's debatable, but like, yeah, it's all debatable.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: But like this idea that we are ethno centric because
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: something that I keep bringing up is one of my
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: favorite films which was still battling to me, centers for
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: my favorite film of last year, It's Good News, which
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: is like straight up you know, subtitled Asian everyone, but
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: to me, it was like one of the best films
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: of that I've seen last year. And love fucking no
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: love yo, I was. I mean, they said they gave
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: the Foreign Golden Globe to Secret Agent on the like
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: red carpet or some shit like they what they.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Did, they didn't even go and just going back to
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: centers real quick. They did not televise Ludwig Garnson winning
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: for Music for Sinners, and they were like, why wouldn't
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: you tell them about that? And then when I saw
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: the clip they posted the clip, I think, and I
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: only think they did this because they was getting some backlash.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: So Globe and Globes account posted the clip of him
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: winning online and niggas was like, why didn't you show
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: this on TV? Like because it was like a full
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: acceptance speech, you know, wasn't O D Like it was
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: just like again Flowers to Ryan, Like, I just it's
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: just a concerted effort to try to bury the greatness
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: that's sinnerious and like.
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: I said, like, come on, guys, it was like again
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: going back to one bad after another. When I stepped
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: out of there, I was like, fuck, that was my
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: immediate thought. I was like, oh, they got one. This
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: will be the one, you know, because I I every
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: year there's these movies that come out where it's like
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: the critics and really the white male critics for the
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: most part, gather around certain films and I just knew it,
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Like and Pta is one of those directors who always
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: gets that type of love, like what's it. There will
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: be blood not the same you know type of reaction
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: where it's like, yes, this must have when everything and
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: no shots. But I turned there will be blood off
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: Like I was, like, I get it, but centicism and
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: darkness I just don't need in my life all the time.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: And that's all that movie was. And I felt like
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: it really continued with one bat after another. But that's
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: you know, there it is. It's every year. It is
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: one of these films that they just put up and
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: they're gonna do everything in their power to push it
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: while ignoring things like sinners, I mean, Malcolm tz job
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: pushed out of the way for what driving or no,
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: do the right thing gets pushed out of way for driving,
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: Miss Daisy. Do the right thing lost to driving? Miss Daisy?
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: You deserve better Spice.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: Hey, what's up? Internet's in the fan fam? This is
