- 0:02Hello, welcome to He's hot, but some things off and by popular
- 0:07demand, I'm shirtless again. See, The thing is, the way I
- 0:10have the lighting set up is designed to make my it's
- 0:16supposed to be flattering for my face.
- 0:18The lighting is supposed to be flattering for my face, but it's
- 0:20not flattering for like my muscles if I'm shirtless, like
- 0:24OK, because I'm sitting on a stool right now, like a spinny
- 0:28office stool type thing. And I tend to.
- 0:31So I'm searching like this. And when I'm sitting, like when
- 0:35you're sitting, you're not using your apps, you're not using your
- 0:36core, right? So like, I didn't know in photo
- 0:40when I'm standing posing for photos shirtless, I look great
- 0:44because when you're standing, you're using your core.
- 0:46You can see this. I'm kind of flexing right now,
- 0:47but I'm being self-conscious. Anyways, welcome to another
- 0:51episode of HHB. SO I'm wearing contacts right
- 0:56now. We just rare had lunch with a
- 1:01friend who's moving to Los Angeles recently, like now, ish.
- 1:06He's still kind of flying back and forth, but hadn't seen him
- 1:10in a long time. But he's moving right now to LA,
- 1:16so. Yeah.
- 1:17So we had a lunch. So if I go out, I will usually
- 1:21put my contacts on. Oh, the other reason I'm putting
- 1:23contacts on is I ordered a batch of contacts.
- 1:26Actually I ordered 2 separate types of contact lenses.
- 1:31I got some nicer, more expensive contacts for times where I need
- 1:37to keep my contacts in for like a longer time.
- 1:40If I'm going on vacation or like a cruise or travel or like I'm
- 1:44actually going out out, I wear the nicer contacts.
- 1:49It's like the nicer, more expensive contacts.
- 1:50They are less likely to dry out. They're just more committed,
- 1:53just nicer. And then also have some less
- 1:57expensive, cheaper contacts for with the original purpose was
- 2:02like, OK, if I'm going to go, if I need to just have 2020 vision
- 2:06just for like a few hours. I'm not doing anything fancy.
- 2:09But for whatever reason, if I needed to, just if I wanted to
- 2:13wear contacts, but I'm not like wearing the contacts for like an
- 2:16entire day. I just need to wear them for
- 2:17like a few hours a little cheaper.
- 2:19They dry out a little bit easier.
- 2:20And it was supposed to be a cost saving measure.
- 2:23So normal people when they buy contacts, order contacts, they
- 2:27only get like one type of contact lens.
- 2:30But I somehow thought it was a good idea to get a small amount
- 2:36of nicer, therefore expensive contact lenses and then also get
- 2:41a small amount of cheaper contact lenses.
- 2:44So like overall it would be cheaper.
- 2:46So it was a couple years ago, I think I ordered it stopped
- 2:50wearing contacts to the gym. I think I mentioned this
- 2:53recently on episode. I don't wear contacts at the gym
- 2:56and I don't go out that. But lately I'm so busy spinning
- 3:02up the businesses, I don't go out that much.
- 3:05It's only really when I travel and like occasionally when I'm
- 3:08home in LA that I wear contacts. So today was one of those days.
- 3:11But those expensive contacts are starting to they're going to
- 3:14expire soon. So technically they expire in
- 3:18June, but the other cheaper contacts, they don't expire for
- 3:23like another two years, 2028 or something like that.
- 3:28So now I'm thinking, OK, we should just start using up these
- 3:33contact lenses that are going to expire in like what, 3 months?
- 3:36And I did a count of how many of them I got recently, and there's
- 3:41a decent amount of them left. So I'm just going to start like
- 3:44wearing those contacts more because, you know, certain
- 3:47things you can use after they expire.
- 3:52But I feel like for things I'm going to put into my eye, let's
- 3:57not chance it. I can chance it with some peanut
- 4:02butter that's a little past the expiry date.
- 4:05I think maybe that's OK. But with contact lenses that I'm
- 4:08going to stick into my eyes, let's not.
- 4:12So I'm going to be just kind of sort of using them up because I
- 4:16don't want to use like expired contact lenses.
- 4:20But anyways, I do have contacts in, but I was out to lunch with
- 4:23friends earlier. I can actually see the camera
- 4:27that I'm looking into. Yeah.
- 4:28But anyways, now I went to the gym in the morning before we
- 4:33went to lunch and in the morning when I was getting ready, I
- 4:37thought, Oh well, since I'm going to put contacts in for
- 4:39later anyways, I'll just put the contacts in.
- 4:41I was going to have contacts in for lunch.
- 4:43Why not just put them in for like the whole day?
- 4:45So when I was getting ready after I woke up in the morning,
- 4:48put the contacts in and I was supposed to go to the gym this
- 4:51morning. So I went to the gym and The
- 4:54thing is just once in a great while I wear contacts to the
- 5:00gym. And today was those days.
- 5:02It's weird because when I wear contacts to the gym and then I
- 5:05see the guys that I usually check out at the gym, it's so I
- 5:12should just not wear contacts to the gym because one of two
- 5:16things happen When I can actually see the gym regulars
- 5:21with like 2020 vision, they always look different than what
- 5:26I thought they looked like. When I go to the gym without the
- 5:29contacts, my eyesight is not that horrible.
- 5:33I'm nearsighted so anything that's far away is fuzzy.
- 5:36It's not the worst neuro sightedness that you can get.
- 5:40It's like light to moderate maybe, but it's it's so weird
- 5:46because I was to the gym today and they're like, there's a
- 5:49bunch of the gym regulars, some of the gym regulars that I
- 5:53thought were like kind of a that I thought was kind of hot with
- 5:57the contacts. Not so much, not so much.
- 6:04Yeah. So they're.
- 6:05So I had to, I had to keep from chuckling when I was at the gym.
- 6:08It's not like a good or bad thing.
- 6:10It's just like, oh, I have my glasses, I have my contents on.
- 6:12I can like actually see what they look like.
- 6:15And it's like, oh, I thought you looked different.
- 6:17So there you go. Yeah.
- 6:18It was just, it was kind of like a funny moment at the gym.
- 6:21I'm not very motivated at the gym.
- 6:24Like the last couple weeks it's been hard to just go through the
- 6:30with the exercises. I mentioned this on a recent
- 6:31episode and it's not gone that much better and I still need to
- 6:37go find a new gym after this week.
- 6:42This is the last week that I can go to the crunch in West
- 6:46Hollywood. It's just annoying because it's
- 6:49like another chore to do, you know, and I'm just not very, not
- 6:55very. I don't need extra chores piled
- 6:59on top of all the existing chores that I need to do
- 7:04already. So I think they're, I think I
- 7:07know which gym I want to like get a trowel or like maybe
- 7:12possibly sign up for, which is one that's like in Beverly
- 7:18Hills. It's it's not a ritzy gym.
- 7:21Have to go just based on price. I can't believe how expensive
- 7:26gyms are. Like apparently routinely gyms
- 7:28in LA are like well over $100. You have, you actually have a
- 7:33decent amount of gyms that are over $200 as well.
- 7:38So I just, I just need weights. I just, I just want to pick
- 7:42everything's up and put them back down and then go home.
- 7:45So that's nothing I have to do. However, I'm looking forward to
- 7:49the cruise that I'm going to go on, the Atlantis LA Mexico
- 7:52cruise that I talked about quite a bit recently on the Gay Cruise
- 7:57and Travel podcast. I'm in this Telegram group.
- 7:59So with the gay cruises, there's always going to be a Facebook
- 8:05group, sometimes like 2 or 3, some duplicate ones for every
- 8:10upcoming cruise there is. The slightly newer thing is for
- 8:13there to be Telegram groups for those cruises as well.
- 8:17It's a little harder to find the Telegram groups in Telegram.
- 8:21You can't just like search for groups in Facebook.
- 8:24You can go into Facebook, go into groups and just do a
- 8:27keyword search like Atlantis, Mexico 2026 and that stuff will
- 8:33come up. Even if it's a private group
- 8:35that you need to like request to join.
- 8:38I don't know if there are any like truly hidden groups in
- 8:44Facebook, but in Telegram it's different.
- 8:46There's no like universal groups like search function.
- 8:51And a lot of these Telegram groups are private, right?
- 8:54And they're private. That means they're like invite
- 8:56only. You won't like see them in
- 8:58search results and you can't just like go in and join.
- 9:00But anyways, yeah, my phone keeps popping off with messages
- 9:05from the Telegram group for like this up coming cruise.
- 9:09And it's kind of good for me as a travel agent to kind of
- 9:13understand the questions that people have, especially for
- 9:20newer cruisers as they are coming up to a cruise that
- 9:23they've booked. I was just telling David the
- 9:25other day, you know, I have done so many cruises and I travel so
- 9:31much that a lot of the things about a cruise I just kind of
- 9:37take for granted and I don't think twice about it.
- 9:41And it never comes to like the forefront of my thoughts.
- 9:44It's all kind of like subconscious and you just kind
- 9:46of it's almost like muscle memory.
- 9:48So sometimes to interact with newer cruisers and as seeing,
- 9:53hearing the type of questions that they have, it's been, it's
- 9:59been kind of good for me to kind of get like a reminder of when
- 10:05people are newer to cruising, the type of questions or
- 10:11curiosities that come up with them.
- 10:15So that's why because we're getting pretty close to the
- 10:18cruise. I've, I muted parts of that
- 10:22Telegram group because I want to be just like really tuned in to
- 10:27what people are asking about and talking about for the cruise
- 10:31only like three weeks away, something like that.
- 10:35So I'm really, really looking forward to.
- 10:37ANYWAYS, enough cruise talk. But I have a whole podcast topic
- 10:43on that. I was watching some YouTube
- 10:46videos earlier about how LAX is getting modernized, renovated,
- 10:56improved, whatever it is for the Olympics in LA in 2028.
- 11:01Whatever dates the Olympics will be in Los Angeles, even though
- 11:06it's like 2 years away, I don't want to be here for that.
- 11:10Assuming I'm still living here in LA.
- 11:11Like I don't know exactly, 100% for sure written in stone where
- 11:15I'll be living in two years, but there's a good likelihood I'll
- 11:17still be in LA. I don't want to be here for the
- 11:22Olympics. Oh, maybe you can go to like
- 11:24Palm Springs for like two or three weeks and I think, Oh
- 11:27yeah, Palm Springs could do it like San Diego, anywhere.
- 11:29That's just like out of the craziness and madness.
- 11:35That's like, I don't know how many people are going to come,
- 11:38but like people go to the Olympics, right.
- 11:40So I have AI have a good friend. He lives in New York, but he
- 11:44just flew to Europe. Is it is it Paris where the
- 11:49Winter Olympics are? Is it, is it Paris?
- 11:52And I don't follow sports? I don't have to know.
- 11:53But he just went to Europe for the Winter Olympics, whatever,
- 11:58wherever it is in Europe. And I just don't want the
- 12:01craziest. You think LA traffic isn't like
- 12:04bad enough on like a regular day?
- 12:07Like we're not hosting the Olympics?
- 12:09You think it's breezy to drop someone off or get picked up
- 12:14from a terminal at LAX? It's horrible.
- 12:18The best of times, it's not good.
- 12:20So I just thinking it's going to be a shit show when we have the
- 12:25Olympics here. I think we, I think I was in, I
- 12:29was still back in Vancouver when we had the Winter Olympics.
- 12:32But I think where I was living, I was in the I was in, I wasn't
- 12:38in the city of Vancouver technically, but I was in like
- 12:40what's called the Greater Vancouver area, the GVA living
- 12:44in my parents place back then. But I just don't want to be here
- 12:48for that. So yeah, 100% I do not plan to
- 12:54be here. LA traffic, it's already like
- 12:56horrible enough. However, I am looking forward to
- 12:59the improvements they're going to make to LAX for the Olympics
- 13:04because it's going to benefit just like people who live here.
- 13:08It's they're building a people mover, an automated people
- 13:13mover, An APM. Is that what it's called?
- 13:15An APM? Sure.
- 13:16An APM, yeah, that would take you between our terminals, and
- 13:19it would also take you to like some of the parking and the
- 13:22rental car places as well. I read somewhere that they're
- 13:25thinking about building for some upcoming line for the metro.
- 13:30Apparently LA has a big metro system that I obviously don't
- 13:35know about because I don't like it doesn't come to West
- 13:38Hollywood. There's no metro anywhere near
- 13:40West Hollywood. So it's like it doesn't make any
- 13:42difference to me, Just hop in my car.
- 13:44But apparently I saw something on Instagram earlier today that
- 13:48they want to like propose or just some sort of action about
- 13:54like convincing who the powers that be to add like a West
- 13:58Hollywood stop to some upcoming new metro line that they're
- 14:01planning or something like that. You know, I, I'm fine with
- 14:07taking the subway and taking the metro.
- 14:10I kind of prefer it, you know, like if it was equally
- 14:14convenient to take a subway somewhere versus driving, I
- 14:20would probably take the subway even.
- 14:22I'm such a car person. But I prefer the convenience and
- 14:30like the speed of like a subway. I don't like buses, no buses
- 14:35though, like this. Buses, like you get the, it's
- 14:38the, it's the road traffic that's the problem.
- 14:42OK, When you have a subway system like a light rail, a sky
- 14:46train or whatever, you're bypassing vehicular traffic.
- 14:50Like that's one of the main advantages of a rail of like a
- 14:55train. A bus like it, doesn't it, it,
- 14:58no, it's like you're still running into like intersections
- 15:01and pedestrians and like traffic and like all that stuff.
- 15:05Even places with with bus lanes, but I don't fully support bus
- 15:08lanes. But if the lanes are only there
- 15:10for like how often is that bus going to come through?
- 15:12And you're making like the traffic worse for everybody
- 15:14else. Don't give yourself on the bus
- 15:16lanes. Vancouver has a lot of them.
- 15:17But can Vancouver's roads have like a bunch of other issues at
- 15:20all? But anyways, if there was a West
- 15:22Hollywood metro station, assuming the metro was like
- 15:31relatively relatively clean and tidy, I have no idea what the LA
- 15:37metro system is like. Assuming it's like overall like
- 15:41a decent metro system. If there was a stop in West
- 15:44Hollywood it was equally. I wish there was a metro from
- 15:48West Hollywood that I take that would take me to LAX airport,
- 15:51but I would be very likely to take it when I used to live in
- 15:55San Francisco. Obviously in San Francisco, like
- 15:58no one has a car. Like you just have to get by.
- 16:00But like I didn't mind taking the Bart, the Bay Area Rapid
- 16:04Transit. I didn't mind taking the Bart
- 16:08from San Francisco proper down to SFO airport.
- 16:12Like I'm actually used to doing that route.
- 16:15I've done that several times back and forth.
- 16:18So, yeah, I can't would prefer it because it it's kind of nice.
- 16:22You just would like be on the train and like do whatever you
- 16:26want, just like chill, listen to some music, be on your phone,
- 16:29like whatever and you're just going like stop, stop and like
- 16:33you're bypassing all the vehicular traffic.
- 16:37So I actually would love to be able to take a metro from West
- 16:42Hollywood. But like, I mean it, I think
- 16:45this proposal, I don't know, I don't think it's going to go
- 16:47through. I however, I also know like
- 16:51nothing about it, but I think of places with like really good
- 16:55transit systems, like when I go to Singapore, for example, and
- 16:59like the subway, the subway is awesome.
- 17:03I mean, obviously in some of these places it's not that
- 17:06likely people have cars. Like the, the car culture in a
- 17:09lot of U.S. cities is like especially in a place in LA,
- 17:14it's almost like it's kind of on the extreme like places like
- 17:18like in Hong Kong, for example, or like Singapore, like the vast
- 17:21majority of people don't have cars.
- 17:22It's so expensive to have cars. But however, like the transit is
- 17:26like so good that is like NBD. When I went to when I was living
- 17:34in San Francisco, most of the time I didn't have a car.
- 17:38Like even if I had money to keep a car somewhere, actually, you
- 17:45know, if I was really rich and I was living in San Francisco, I
- 17:49probably would have a car. But like that's if you're so
- 17:51rich that like it's literally no problem for you to like have a
- 17:55place where you can keep a car near or at your house.
- 17:59But if you're so rich that you can you, you have like a house
- 18:04in San Francisco that takes a decent bit of money that has
- 18:08like a garage. I probably would still have a
- 18:10car. But The thing is for like the
- 18:13day-to-day of like getting around San Francisco.
- 18:15If you live in San Francisco and like you work in San Francisco,
- 18:18you know, you hang out with friends kind of all within,
- 18:21you're just doing stuff within the city just 'cause you have a
- 18:26garage and you have a house where you can keep your car at
- 18:28home. Parking is probably not going to
- 18:31be great for all the places you want to go to.
- 18:35So even then you still want to just take the take the train,
- 18:40take the Muni, the the local subway, the local rail in San
- 18:43Francisco. But I used to do that all the
- 18:45time. Yeah, it was it was fine.
- 18:48I mean, as long as the system is like decently clean and decently
- 18:54reliable. It was annoying when I was
- 18:57living in San Francisco. It was pretty annoying, but the
- 18:59Muni was not that reliable. We just don't in the US, just
- 19:05doesn't infest. We were driving to lunch and
- 19:07then we're coming back and they were just saying how in
- 19:13Australia, for example, the traffic lights, it's common for
- 19:17them to be synchronized so you're not hitting like red
- 19:20lights all the time. And I told them it's not a well,
- 19:23at least in Socal, it's not a common thing.
- 19:28And I was like, what this is the, the type of American
- 19:31infrastructure you can expect when you move to the US.
- 19:34Yeah, I would, I would love to take the train.
- 19:36I kind of sort of prefer it, especially when you have
- 19:38luggage. And if you're going, if you're
- 19:39going to be going away for like a week, maybe you don't want to
- 19:42have your car parked at the airport for an extended period
- 19:45of time. If you go away for an even
- 19:47longer period, it's like, you know, to park a car at the
- 19:50airport for like 2 weeks, 3 weeks, whatever.
- 19:52If you happen to have an extended trip that's very
- 19:53expensive and you don't necessarily want your car to
- 19:56just be, like, sitting there like that somewhere, yeah, I
- 19:59would prefer to be able to do that.
- 20:00But oh, well, you can't. We can't all have what we want.
- 20:03Oh, the, the, the, the subway in the subway in places like
- 20:07Singapore or like Seoul or like Hong Kong.
- 20:11It's a really nice, some like, really nice subway system.
- 20:14It just, it just makes it so much sadder to think about what
- 20:18infrastructure is like in the US, like the the New York subway
- 20:23system is famous. Famous for some good reasons,
- 20:25but also like famous for some like crap ass reasons.
- 20:29Like it floods all the time when you get like a storm, you know,
- 20:33like the the system is like super super old.
- 20:35Like some of the trains are just like so aged, you know.
- 20:40Well, anyways, enough of me basically pissing on how bad the
- 20:46infrastructure is in the US. If you grew up in the US, like
- 20:50you probably would be like, oh, this is the way things are.
- 20:52But like if you ever visit other places, especially a lot of
- 20:55places in Asia and some places in Europe as well, you're you're
- 20:59just going to be like, what the F are we doing in the US with
- 21:03the infrastructure? It's so crazy.
- 21:05ANYWAYS, well I hope you enjoyed this shirtless version.
- 21:09But obviously I was shirtless last episode and it got more
- 21:12clicks. She had to just do all my
- 21:14episodes shirtless. I mean it doesn't cost me
- 21:17anything extra and it gets more views so I guess I probably
- 21:23should do it right? I am more self-conscious when I
- 21:25am shirtless though. It just isn't good lighting for
- 21:28being shirtless though. Seriously.
- 21:30Anyways, let me don't let me know down in the comments but
- 21:32I'm just going to be tracking the views for all the shirtless
- 21:34episodes to see if you guys like it or not.
- 21:36But until next time of course I have to plug my Patreon.
- 21:40There is going to be an upcoming live stream with my top tier OPA
- 21:46Patreon subscribers is probably should be this coming weekend, I
- 21:50think. And they always all of my
- 21:52Patreon subscribers, regardless of the tier, they always get an
- 21:56extra podcast episode. That's the uncut episode that
- 21:59comes out every single weekend. So I mean, because I did this
- 22:02week's regular episode shortlist, that means I have to
- 22:06do the uncut episode this week's shortlist as well.
- 22:09So if you want to go see that, go subscribe to their Patreon
- 22:11and it will come out this Sunday.
- 22:14We'll probably come up this Sunday.
- 22:15There you go. Until the next time, bye y'all.
