- Courtney Her Mind On Mission: Hello and welcome back to the Mission for More podcast. I'm your host, Courtney, the face behind her mind on Mission on social media, and you are here listening to the Rooted Woman series, my first ever series on the Mission for More podcast. And So through this process, I continued to work on what surrender actually looked like. I think I had to break it down in my brain. People use the term deconstructing a lot, and I think it could be used in a negative light, but I had to deconstruct the way that I thought about surrender, the way that I thought about trust, the way that I perceived things with the Lord because of the reality of what I saw in certain relationships and things like that. And so I had to really deconstruct all of that to understand what the Lord was offering me and to understand. This is going to be a series that goes through 12 weeks, and at the very end, we are going to have a huge surprise, a big announcement, something that I just cannot even believe is real life that is happening, and you're gonna get to be a part of the whole entire thing. So stay tuned each week. If you're not already subscribed, I would do that now so that you don't miss an episode. And we are just going to jump right in. His heart and who he was, because he wasn't people who had hurt me in my past. He wasn't, you know, going to let me down in ways that maybe I had been let down in other relationships. This was different, but I had to be able to understand that. And it can take time. And I think we need to give ourselves grace to heal over time. It's not going to happen overnight, like I mentioned. You're not going to all of a sudden see this crazy big transformation. And he can change our hearts overnight. But to really live it out, I mean, things take perfect. Wherever you are listening from today, whether you're folding laundry or driving in the car or sitting in the school pickup line, maybe you're going on a walk and you're just getting a few minutes to yourself with your headphones in. Maybe you're just trying to catch your breath in the middle of pure chaos and you snuck away for just a few minutes to tune in. I truly believe that this conversation is going to be for you and is for any woman in any season, just really trying to figure out how do I spin these plates? How do I remain rooted? And what does that even practice. So give yourself time to practice. Give yourself the okay to fumble through it at times because it's not going to look like this linear path of becoming like your quote unquote best version of yourself or the ideal Christian that you have in mind for what the Lord wants for you, right? And so as I'm kind of going through this process myself, I realized like this was deeper than just my routines and my understanding of things. This was really really look like. We talked a little bit about what this whole series will look like ⁓ in our last podcast episode in the introduction. Today we are going to go little bit deeper and it's personal to me because I want to share the heart behind the entire message of rooted living ⁓ before we talk about like rhythms and having peace and having more joy or healing, emotional regulation. ⁓ ⁓ built on a lot of visible things, things that I was doing outwardly, behaviors, habits, outcomes, appearance of having everything together and I needed to get to my heart. And like I said, it was like my soul was starving. I needed God to get my soul. I really needed to be able to even discipleship or any of like the practical things that we're going to cover in the series that we've talked about on the podcast before, I think that it matters that you understand where this message came from because the rooted woman did not come from a woman who has everything figured out. Let me tell you, I have had my fair share of up and downs. I lived a life that was full of sin before I came to fully surrender to the Lord. And get to the complete end of myself. Like I said, that point of desperation and let him in in a way that I had never done before. And that is hard when you don't understand what it looks like. And I think people can explain it to you and you can walk through even a discipleship process with other people and they can, they can help you, but you will only get there when you are ready. You cannot rush the Holy Spirit and you cannot go before the Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit knows exactly when the right timing is to come in and and reveal things to you. And I am still not perfect and I'm never going to be perfect. And I will always say this, but I am not just preaching to you. I am talking with you. This is a conversation. I am linking arms with you. I'm calling you up as much as I am challenging myself to grow in Christ too, because we never will fully arrive and we will never be ⁓ the very best version of walk you through that healing journey in the way that only he can. On the only only the Lord can get to the deepest places. You can have somebody counsel you or disciple you or pray for you or talk with you. But this has to be a you and God thing. And so those other relationships only get you so far in it. And that's where I was. I was ourselves because there's always something that we can improve on. The Lord will always reveal something new to us as we remain submitted and surrendered to Him and we ask Him ⁓ for those highlights and revelation in our lives. But I also wanna say like even if you're looking at another Christian woman, it there's no competition. so far in it with other people, but now I needed to make it my own. And I want to read a verse to you. Luke six, ⁓ 43 through 45 says, For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart ⁓ produces and the evil person out of the evil treasure produces evil. ⁓ There is no competition. And I think it is really important to recognize that now, if you're in the accountability group and you see other people checking in, if you're on social media and you see other women having their quiet time, or if we're talking about a topic and you see somebody even in your personal life who's excelling at that topic that we're talking about and you feel like you're really struggling, there is no competition and there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. And I think that we need to And I was reading this and it just really stood out to me because I wanted the fruit that other people had in their lives. But I wasn't really taking an inventory of the fruit that my own actions in life was producing. And again, maybe on the outside I could make it look Really, really hone in on that and remember that and keep our blinders on. This is about you. This is about your relationship with the Father. This is about your submission to the King of Kings, the the holiest of holies. Okay. And if we have our eyes on other people, we are going to miss what the Lord is doing in us. And I can share that before I got to this place where Real good. I mean, people can modify apples and strawberries and all the things and make it look really good on the outside. But when we've modified it so much that it's lost its taste inside or that it's rotten inside, I mean it's actually no longer desirable and good. And I wanted that in my own life. I wanted people to be able to look at me the way that I looked at other people and said, I want what she has and I wanted it to be the Lord. I didn't want it to be me. And I've said that on the podcast several times before, of really just like, Hey, when you look at the things that I'm sharing and when you I was more rooted, I guess, now than I was before. because again, like I said, I always have something to work on. But when I really got to this place where I'm living this life surrendered to the Lord, I can tell you that the pr leading up to that. I I wanted it. I desired it. I wanted more peace. I wanted more joy. I wanted to be able to have what I thought other people had that I was missing out on. And that thing was just surrender, but I didn't understand that. And so I thought I could compete my way into things. I thought that I could if I could just like muster up the the courage and the energy and the motivation and the discipline and the strength to do X, Y, and Z and do it all perfectly. You look at my life or the things that I share about on social media or the podcast, I wanted to always point back to God because it's not me telling you, hey, you need to do these things. It is the Lord and his word that really drives everything that I'm saying here. And so that's where it was for me. I had to get to that point of being like, okay, now I recognize I need to make it my own. How, how does this happen? that I would become that version of the rooted woman. And it did not lead me there. It led me to burnout. And so I just want to remind you that as we go through this, I am speaking from a place of victory in my own life, not because of watching other people or not because of living up to anybody else's expectations or standards. The only person that I was focused on in my biggest season of growth and healing and just yeah Well, it was everything that was happening beneath the surface. I had to recognize when I was stressed out. I had to recognize when I shifted back into striving. I had to realize when I was viewing growth as a way to get to a certain point so I could be like somebody else that I looked up to. Instead of being where God wanted me to be, I had to recognize all those things in my life. And for so long I had tried to force external change while like neglecting the hidden parts of my heart because if we're being honest. tr just ⁓ victory in all the areas that I was praying so desperately to see the victory and anxiety and depression and all the things. I'm telling you, I got there because I had my eyes so set on the Lord. He was the only thing that mattered. It is very painful sometimes to go through those things. It is not comfortable to sift through the way that we've been thinking for years or why we think the way that we do or perceive things the way that we do because of experiences that were maybe very traumatic that we went through. And revisiting those things is not always fun. But when we dig up the roots from those experiences and we can really break it down, we have a better understanding. And something I'm really big on is understanding. Wisdom and understanding. The only thing that mattered. My husband no longer had this place in my life where I was like, well, if he treats me this way, then I'm not doing things right. Or if he responds this way, then I'm I'm doing something wrong and I have to, I have to fix him while I'm fixing me. No, I got to a place where in my friendships, in my marriage, in my motherhood, nothing else mattered except for the Lord's opinion of me and approval of me and really his love for me. And so, ⁓ you know, I I wanted to build strong roots ⁓ and and really be surrendered and committed to the Lord in a new in a way that ⁓ meant something to me my heart, not outwardly, like, ⁓ that girl can pray. ⁓ No, actually I was embarrassed to pray front of people before. But, ⁓ you know, I really wanted it to be like internal, like Matthew 6, 6 behind closed doors. I had to accept his love for me, that I didn't have to earn my way into this place that I wanted to be, that I just had it to remain had to, if I can talk, remain surrendered to him, because that was the only way that I was going to receive from him the things that I was hoping to receive. Cause you can be expectant. For the Lord. You could be expectant that He's gonna move. You could be expectant that He can heal. You could be expected for greater things from Him. He tells us exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever think or imagine. But it's hard to expect those things for ourselves when we're sitting and looking at someone else thinking, why don't I have that? prayer. I wanted this to be an internal surrender, full surrender to the Lord and live a life of repentance and live a life where rest was carved out and honored before the Lord. ⁓ I wanted to live a life that was just fully transparent and honest with God. That if I was frustrated, I could say, God, I'm frustrated that you're not answering this prayer and not feel like I should be ashamed at letting him know my true thoughts and really processing with God before I process with other people because I wanted him to know that he was first, that he was We first have to be so grateful for the things that he has already given us and we have to be able to hear from him to be able to walk into the things that he still has in store for us. But we're gonna miss that every single time when our blinders are not on and we are focused on everybody else. A woman who is a rooted woman is going to sit still before the Lord. truly Lord over my life, Lord over my marriage and over all of those different areas that before I had placed him on the back burner, right? And learning to kind of return to him over and over and over again about certain issues or certain areas of my life, or just coming in like literally was like a a check-in with the Lord. Like, hey, did this thing that I felt like you wanted me to do, here's where I'm at, here's how I'm feeling about it. God, what do I do now? What what do I do? Point me in the right direction. Give me fresh Okay. And I did not know how to do that. I'm telling you, I loved God so deeply. I really did. I was so on fire for him. But I didn't know what living that out actually looked like. I was living under this like enormous pressure internally that I was placing on myself. I looked really capable, like high capacity person on the outside, but on the inside I was still anxious. I was having panic attacks all the time. I mean, sometimes five to six panic attacks a day. One day I got up off the bathroom floor and my body was just covered in hives. I was so anxious. I was so stressed out. I had been striving my way into trying to be perfect. Like literally just trying to be perfect. And Revelation. Let me read your word and let it stand out to me, God, because I want to steward this relationship well, or I want to honor my husband well, or I want to mother well. And he will time and time again reveal to you what you need to do. And there's not like a specific playbook, right, in the in the Bible of whether or not you should move into this house or move across states or go to this church or raise your children this way and provide consequences in this area or homeschool or not homeschool or nurse or not nurse. Like If you are surrendered to the Lord, you know that you are not going to be perfect because He's the only perfect one. But I wouldn't give it up. I didn't want to give up this idea of control in my life. And I just like had this really, really tight grip on so many areas. Like if I could just get a little bit further. And I was just absolutely exhausted. It was like a movie scene. Looking back, I can like visualize where I was in that place. And it was like a movie scene where you're like hanging onto the cliff and the fingers are slipping off. That was me with trying to control everything in my life and trying to be perfect. All of these different areas don't have a playbook, but the Lord is so good and so gentle to come in and meet us there and guide us through the process when we stay submitted to him. And it's really beautiful because then we can really give him glory in all areas of our lives. And I know this is foreign to some people. And they're like, What do you mean he can truly guide me through everything? Well, if you surrender and if you trust that Holy Spirit is here as our helper to lead and guide us, that that was the gift that the Lord gave to us as he Every area of my life, and there was no way that I was going to get there living the way that I was living in that season. And it wasn't a season full of sin. I had walked out of that. But I was now trying to be the perfect Christian because I didn't want to slip back into my old ways. And I was so ashamed of who I used to be that I wasn't able to see, like, no, God's building a story and a testimony here. Will you let him? Instead of trying to fix my way into being adored by him, because he already adored me, but I didn't understand that and I couldn't see it. And maybe you feel that way too. you know, took his son and seated him at his right hand after he died for our sins, then you can trust that he can lead you through any choice. We can submit every choice, every purchase we make. We could submit before the Lord and really sit there and sift through it with him if we wanted to, if we had that relationship and connection with him. ⁓ but it's a really it's a a choice that we have to make. It is a choice that we have to make. I think women, ⁓ w sometimes we're so exhausted because we are taught how to perform and many times Maybe you feel like you're just trying to hold it all together and people tell you like you're so resilient. ⁓ my goodness, you are such a high capacity person. I don't know how you do it. You just seem to be able to do everything. You you do the most. You're the hostess with the mostest. Like, think of all those compliments. But every time you hear it, you're like, if only you knew, girl. If only you knew. And I'm telling you, I I know so deeply what this feels like because I was there. I was there. I was like. whether it's a teacher or it's a parent or it's a peer, when we expressed certain emotions or when we didn't perform well, there was shame surrounding that. Whether you were called a crybaby or a perfectionist or a goody two shoes, it's like any anything that we we try in or we are vulnerable in, people can pick that apart and it can shame us into a place of not wanting to lean into those emotions anymore or or process properly. And then we figure out how to mask it and kind of move through life in the way that other people around us expect us to. But what I wanna do differently for my kids is teach them like all you need to do is ⁓ watching people compliment somebody else because I'm like, how could they even be saying this about me? Don't they see? Don't they see that I am just absolutely one step away from failing miserably? But I hit it well because I wanted to be perfect. So I put on the facade when inside I was just absolutely crumbling and for a long time I really lived in that survival mode without fully realizing it and it wasn't until I got to a a serious point of desperation that I started to realize it because I stayed so busy that my mind couldn't even slow down. Like even during moments that were supposed to be restful or whatever, like going on vacation. I was like, how many books can I read on a vacation? Like self-help books. I just want to take it all in. Maybe I'll journal every single day and I want to work out while I'm on vacation. Like everything had to be productive and I still am sit there in connection with the Lord and have an audience of one and ask yourself, is does this bring him glory at the end of the day? And I wish that I knew that when I was younger. And maybe that's a a missed mark of a lot of us growing up of not really knowing that, hey, you don't have to seek after the approval of others. Or when other people make fun of you or there's shame involved, like you don't have to succumb to the weight of that and the pressure of that. ⁓ you could just surrender to the Lord and come and meet with him and cry out to him. ⁓ Very much that way. I think God hardwired me in a way to like, I just enjoy those things. I enjoy being productive. And I think that sometimes our greatest strengths can also be our weaknesses, right? And if I am too far out of of submission to the Lord, I will fall into that place and succumb to the things that I think that I need to do instead of enjoying what I actually like to do and what I get to do. ⁓ and so I have to be so careful about that even now, because like I said, I'm not. And and sit with him and you can feel all the feelings and that's not a bad thing either. But then at the end of all of it, God has something for you and it's direction and it's wisdom and it's guidance and it's just a connection with him that we can we can have because it's a free gift that he has given us and it's a beautiful thing to acknowledge. And I think so many of us don't know how to do that because we weren't taught how to do that. And we need to learn how to abide in him. We need to know you know how to stop the hustle culture culture and carrying the weight of things that we were never meant to carry. ⁓ we need to know hear me. We need to know how to pause. And then in there we need to know how to remain still and then within that we need to know how to rest in him. And I think that when we do that talking to you as a perfect person. I'm talking to you as a real woman who is still going through this. I was always trying to ⁓ like think ahead, planning. I remember even when I started dating my husband, ⁓ my goodness, y'all, he he was like, this girl is crazy. Like I'm like, where do you want to be in 10 years? Like what what do you see for yourself? And he's like, I'm just trying to like God in his kindness will slowly begin to show you a different way of living. ⁓ he will show you what it looks like to truly be rooted. If you're asking God, I want to be ⁓ woman rooted in your word and rooted in surrender to you. He will lead you through that. Just ⁓ and you watch. It's like when you pray for patience and you're like, Whoa, is this a test? Because now I'm put in a situation where I don't want to be patient. ⁓ promise you, he will provide opportunities for you to practice these things ⁓ you will. figure out right now, you know? And I was always like, well, what steps do we need to get to where we want to be? And I still am very much that way, but he has mellowed me out so much. That's why I think that the Lord put us together so that I could go through that process of sanctification in a new way of being like, I don't have to have the next 10 to 20 years figured out. Like The Lord already knows. And if I can trust in him and I can open my hands and say, okay, okay, God, you already know. I don't have to sit here and figure out a 10-year financial plan, a 20-year financial plan, ⁓ what our family's gonna look like, what our kids are gonna do. Like, I don't have to know all of these things. All I need to know is that I'm in step with with him and trust that I'm being spirit led. And obviously there's, you know, some parts to planning that are good. And I'm not saying never plan, but we don't have to be so. be convicted in certain ways that maybe before you were not convicted. And remember, we're not striving to live a perfect life. We're striving to live a rooted life. ⁓ those two things are different. And I want you to remember that as we go through the whole series, it's not about perfecting these different areas that we're going to talk about or living perfectly for the Lord. It is about living rooted to him and in him. ⁓ in control of the plans that we take away the pen from the author, right? And that's God. God is the author, if you were wondering. It's not supposed to be you. So hand the pen back. I physically had to do that one day. We were worshiping at church and I just felt like the Lord was really stirring my heart in that area. Like, why am I trying to take the pen out every single time he picks it up? I'm like, no, no, no, God, I got it. I could I could write this. No, I I could do it, Lord. Like you you don't have to worry about it. I've got it. And I'm like, wow, like I mean, if the Lord was truly standing in front of me and I was doing that, how John fifteen, four through five has really been an incredible personal verse, and I want to read it to you. It's Abide in me and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. ⁓ am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, ⁓ is it that bears much fruit. For apart from me you can do ⁓ ⁓ I've shared that before because it really is truly such a good verse that reminds me personally as somebody who used to stress and strive and hustle and all the things. ⁓ Awful what I have felt. And so when I saw this picture in my mind, I'm like, wow, God, like I need to hand you back the pen. And I literally like took two hands and then I lifted up the one, like I had my hands clasped together, and I just imagined a pen in them. And I lifted up the one hand as if I was handing the pen right back to God in the middle of worship. And I'm like, I don't care if people see me and I look weird. Like I need to do this for me, like it's a symbolic moment in my heart, in my mind, a posture of surrender to say, God. that I cannot do any of it without the Lord. And when I do it without him, it is never going to be the best fruit that I could get out of that situation, out of that season, out of that job, out of that moment, out of that friendship. because it is not done with him. And sure I can get to a certain point, ⁓ by striving, but ⁓ What is the feeling there? And who gets the glory at the end of it? Am I just trying to give myself the glory by mustering up the confidence to do these things, mustering up the strength to do them? No, I want God to get the glory. I don't care about my name at the end of the day. It needs to be His name at the ⁓ of everything. I think that's just really, really important ⁓ remember. I trust you as you are writing my story. I don't have to write it. I don't have to have it figured out. I just have to trust you. And that was the moment that I realized that I lacked ⁓ a true trust in the Lord. And I needed to work on that. And that's okay. There's no shame in realizing that we need a little bit of work in certain areas. Okay. I'm going to say it again. There is no shame. In realizing that we need a little bit of work in certain areas, and maybe we need a lot of work in certain areas, and there is still no shame over that. Okay. I want you to understand that the Lord, when He reveals something to us, it's because He wants that deeper relationship and connection with us and also a surrender to Him to recognize that He is the Almighty One and we don't have to hold it all together. We don't have to write the story. We just have to trust. ⁓ or whatever it is in your life that He's working on. Maybe it's a faith component, maybe it's a And as I'm sharing all of this, you know, I have been freed from anxiety and I don't live in this place of depression. But I was even just talking to a friend about how I was telling my husband a couple of different times throughout the last couple of months and it's just cyclical as woman changes happen. but I've said a couple of times like I'm feeling anxious or I feel sad. ⁓ sometimes these emotions and these thoughts and things continue to arise even when you are in a place that you are living rooted ⁓ it doesn't mean that all of a sudden your walk is easy. My pastor had just mentioned that, ⁓ I think it was this past Sunday, was that your walk is not going to be easy. ⁓ It is surrender, maybe it's being still, but really when he, you know, softens your heart in those areas and you feel convicted about it, lean into that because he's trying to grow you and teach you and shape you into the woman that he wants you to become, not the person that you think you need to be on paper. And remember that as you're going through your journey to stay surrendered to him. So I'm in that season, you know, and I'm really trying to figure out what everything looks like. And I'm telling you. Just because we're surrendered, just because we know the Lord, just because we call ourselves Christian, doesn't mean it will be easy. We have to take root in the Lord and we have to be aware of what the enemy is doing. And we have to also be careful of our own sin and getting in our own flesh ⁓ and recognize when anxiety tries to come in or that sad feeling comes. And then we have to ask ourselves, what am I going to do with this this time? ⁓ I've got roots now in the Lord. And what am I going to do with it that's going to be different this time? Peace just always seemed like it was a little bit too far out of reach. Like I would never fully get there. And when I realized like, no, I'm I'm not at peace because I don't trust and I'm not at peace because I'm like trying to control everything, I thought, okay, like how do I like discipline and organize myself out of this place so that I could trust him, that I could be maybe a little bit emotionally more, you know, steady or that I would just finally be the version of myself that I was trying to become. I thought like I had to push harder somehow. And it wasn't correlating in my brain. You're like, Courtney, didn't you realize like that's not what the Lord meant by saying to trust him more? But that's what I thought. I'm like, okay, God, yeah, I could do that. Like give me the the formula and I will trust you more if you tell me exactly what to do. And I thought I needed to be better in these areas to be able to get to that point of trust with him when really I just needed to sit with him and I needed to And as we come to the end of this whole entire series, when I share the surprise, I will have more insight on on these statements and how we can kind of think of like one statement at a time on how we can just shift our thinking just a little bit, shift our living just a little bit, shift our surrender just a little bit. Because you know I'm big here on those small 1% changes. And I think that they will be monumental changes and shifts in your life as we continue to walk them out together. To tell him, like, God, I trust you with these things and fully believe it in my heart. And I I didn't know that. And so I just became more and more exhausted. And I know some of you listening can resonate with that. You're in that season right now where you're like, this is just pure exhaustion. I am tired and I don't know if I can keep going. I think one of the hardest parts about living this way is that sometimes it can even look like responsible from the outside. Like you look As we continue this series together, my prayer is not that you would leave feeling pressure to become completely different overnight or that you feel like you have to overhaul your life. This is exactly what we're working against. Remember, I said we're rooted, we're not trying to strive for perfection. My prayer is that you would begin allowing God to place those roots in a deeper way. You know, sometimes we have to remove a plant from a pot and we have to put it in a different pot. Or we have to dependable and capable and you're the helper and the planner and people can count on you and they're like, this is the yes person. But when you're the yes person at work and you're the yes person in your marriage and you're the yes person as a mother and you're the yes person at church and you're the yes person in your friend group, I mean, you can't keep dishing out those yeses. And where is the yes to the Lord and all of that? You know what I'm saying? And so that's what I really realized. Like, wow, I'm feeling burnt out because I am the yes in every single circle in my life because I've made myself available. bury it in deeper soil so that it can grow. Let God do that sifting in you as we go through all of this. Let him re you repot you, put you in a new pot if there's, you know, more room that he needs for you to be able to grow. And then really sit with him and ask him what this looks like. Where where do you need more of him? Where do you need shifting and changing? And let it be what he guides you to do, not what you write on paper that you need to do for yourself. I really do pray that To all these different people and all these different relationships and arenas of my life, but I have yet to allow the Lord to be the Lord over my marriage and the Lord over my friendships and the Lord over my workplace and and the Lord over ministry and the Lord over my yeses and my no's. And once I was able to do that, it was like, wow, I'm realizing like I have not taken a deep breath in years. As we go through this, you're gonna begin healing through all the the past trauma that maybe you've experienced, really healing beneath the surface of things, that you're gonna loosen your grip on perfectionism and control. ⁓ that we are going to have more rhythms that are rooted in grace instead of guilt or shame. I've been talking about this a lot on social media. I want to get rid of that guilt and shame that makes us feel like we have to force ourselves to move forward. And my nervous system is running on chronic stress. And maybe some of my anxiety is actually because I'm trying to over control because I'm not trusting the Lord and I'm chronically stressed. And my body is signaling to me, like, hey girl, you need a little bit of rest. Okay. ⁓ I I was literally like I say it like this my soul was starving. shame and guilt are not a good guiding factor to get to where the Lord is calling us to be. So really just being mindful of that. ⁓ And I think slowly time I really just ⁓ am praying that you the kind of woman whose roots are are so deep in the presence of God and the word of God that difficult seasons cannot uproot you. for rest. Like you know, when you're like so hungry and you're like, I could literally pass out right now. I was so tired spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, that my soul was literally starving for rest. I was like, I could pass out at any given moment. And really in other words, what that looked like to me in that season was I could give up at any single moment. I'm gonna say it again. Difficult seasons cannot uproot you. And that is where this entire series and all that's to come has stemmed from. Really looking back at the pivotal season in my life and saying, It did not uproot me because of what the Lord did. And I wanna be able to write it down and hand it all to you. So before we close today, I just want to pray for you. Father, I thank you for every woman who is listening right now and that. And would it even matter to anybody? And the truth is, yes, it it would have, but I needed to get to that place so that I could let the Lord in because I I realized once I got there, like he was the only one that was going to be medicine to my soul. He was the only one that was going to help me to get out of that place. And when I was able to walk through that. And I I share this. It's hard to piece it together because I don't want you to think it happened overnight. Like this was a year, year, year, another year process of continuing to try to surrender and try to trust and work through a lot of things that happened in my life that broke my trust in other areas. And I was visualizing that as what the my relationship with the Lord would be like. And I had to work through, which we'll talk about, you know, all of these different areas. You see if she's exhausted and in the weight that she's carrying, the pressure, the overwhelm, the striving, the fears that maybe even she doesn't speak out loud to even her closest friend. God, I pray that you would begin to ⁓ just draw her into a deeper rest with you. Teach her what it looks like to be rooted. What is a rooted woman? God, let it come from you, not even from the podcast, but from you. What are you calling her to do in this season to become more rooted? Teach her how to slow down enough to hear your voice. To be able to sincerely sit with the Lord and allow Him to be Lord of my life. But I I didn't have that surrender right away. And I just wanted to make that clear because I think we can recognize, but there's a a storyline from the point of recognition to the point of actually like, okay, wow, I've surrendered or I feel better in this area, or I'm seeing And to heal places within her that have been shaped by maybe pressure or fear or perfectionism or ⁓ living in survival mode or or guilt and shame that we talked about. Remind her that she does not have to earn your love through performance. And Lord, would you just begin cultivating deeper roots within her life in every area? Roots of peace, roots of surrender, roots of wisdom, rooted relationships. ⁓ progress here spiritually or I'm maturing in this this way. And so it's okay if you're not there tomorrow, if the recognition happens today. Let God take you through the process of it. Roots in marriages for those who are married, roots in parenting, in a in a deeper way, in a meaningful way, in an intentional way. We just pray all of this in Jesus' name. Amen.
