Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Cracking power play Lord.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the postgame show, brought to you by Toyota
- 0:06Speaker 2: of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at your
- 0:09Speaker 2: Kraken Hockey. It's the post game on the Global Credit
- 0:13Speaker 2: Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Five two Cracking.
- 0:17Speaker 3: They take down the Toronto Maple Leafs their first points
- 0:21Speaker 3: on home ice in franchise history against the Leafs.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Crack in previously zero to.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Fourth against Toronto here under our roof, but partner, it
- 0:31Speaker 3: was a big game tonight for Seattle, won that they
- 0:33Speaker 3: needed after a statement win against the Caps. They won
- 0:37Speaker 3: that one five to one. They were five to two
- 0:40Speaker 3: winners here tonight, so ten to three. You've outscored your
- 0:43Speaker 3: opponents in your last two games now in a three
- 0:46Speaker 3: game heater, outscoring teams fourteen to five.
- 0:50Speaker 1: In that stretch as well.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah, you've got a very long stretch not giving up
- 0:54Speaker 4: an even strength goal since that Anaheim game.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You gave up one in that first period.
- 0:57Speaker 4: But other than the power play goal, things were very
- 1:00Speaker 4: tight defensively for the Cracking, and I mean tight in
- 1:02Speaker 4: a good way and that they kept a lot of
- 1:04Speaker 4: pucks away from Joey to Corey and when he did
- 1:06Speaker 4: need to make saves. He was there to do so.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We talked earlier. In the first period, the physicality picked
- 1:11Speaker 1: up a little bit.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Shane or Jayden Schwartz took a hit that required him
- 1:16Speaker 3: to miss a couple of shifts, but he came back,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and then Berkeley Catton got taken out by Oliver Ekman Larsen,
- 1:22Speaker 3: albeit in inverted and accidental.
- 1:25Speaker 1: You still again, I'll say it. I wish there was
- 1:27Speaker 1: more of a response from the home team.
- 1:29Speaker 3: On the ice there, but they got the biggest and
- 1:31Speaker 3: best response by winning this hockey game. So they had
- 1:35Speaker 3: to overcome a hill with a couple of injuries, one
- 1:38Speaker 3: of them long term.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And what I mean long term, I mean we know
- 1:42Speaker 1: they yeah, yeah, long term, short term for the game.
- 1:44Speaker 4: Yeah, long term for the game. You lose him for
- 1:45Speaker 4: the game. You don't know what the outcome is beyond that.
- 1:49Speaker 4: We hope the best for him. But yeah, that's that's frustrating.
- 1:53Speaker 4: It's something you want to see something done about. Maybe
- 1:57Speaker 4: there was a conversation, maybe there wasn't. You know, when
- 1:59Speaker 4: you when you respond like that and you you say, hey,
- 2:03Speaker 4: we gotta go. Yeah, if the guy doesn't go, now,
- 2:06Speaker 4: you're now you're gonna be down a man because you're
- 2:08Speaker 4: gonna get an instigator penalty.
- 2:09Speaker 5: I'd like to see that not happen.
- 2:11Speaker 4: I'd like to see a guy stand up for the
- 2:13Speaker 4: situation say yeah, I gotta fight you. But we don't
- 2:15Speaker 4: know what was said on the ice, so we don't
- 2:17Speaker 4: know what the response was.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Joey Decord a smasterful performance here tonight. Twenty nine saves
- 2:22Speaker 3: on thirty one shots for him. Nothing really too difficult,
- 2:26Speaker 3: no real highlight saves in this one. There was a
- 2:30Speaker 3: one back earlier in the first period where he kind
- 2:32Speaker 3: of dove and got a quick back to back succession there.
- 2:36Speaker 1: But he called the game down pretty well today for Seattle.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought he did too, And I thought that
- 2:41Speaker 4: his defense helped him out a lot, whether it was
- 2:43Speaker 4: clearing bodies in front so he could see shots, or
- 2:45Speaker 4: clearing pucks when rebounds did come out. So you know,
- 2:49Speaker 4: three man effort there in front of that, in front
- 2:51Speaker 4: of that blue paint was the big secret tonight for
- 2:55Speaker 4: keeping the bucket on the net.
- 2:56Speaker 3: So looking at the standings now for the Seattle crack him.
- 2:59Speaker 3: At fifty nine points, they hold the second wild card
- 3:03Speaker 3: spot and are in a time with the Anaheim Ducks
- 3:06Speaker 3: for third in the Pacific Division. Three big games in
- 3:10Speaker 3: division coming up this weekend into next week.
- 3:13Speaker 1: You've got in Vegas coming up.
- 3:15Speaker 3: On Saturday, and then back to back Tuesday Wednesday, Anaheim LA.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I mean must win up to the edge of must
- 3:23Speaker 3: win five of six points preferred four of six points.
- 3:28Speaker 3: What's your outlook for these next six periods for Seattle?
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yeah, again, I think that you approach them all as
- 3:35Speaker 4: must wins. If you don't, you don't. But there these
- 3:39Speaker 4: are opportunities to not only move up in the standings,
- 3:42Speaker 4: but keep others from catching you, from jumping over you,
- 3:45Speaker 4: pulling others down. Yeah, They're so important to get these
- 3:48Speaker 4: wins here, so I gotta believe the guys are thinking
- 3:51Speaker 4: about it that way.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Big five to two win for Seattle will step out
- 3:54Speaker 3: for a break come back with Brandon Montur on the
- 3:57Speaker 3: other side.
- 3:58Speaker 1: On the Blobal Credit Union, Crack and Audience.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Network, this as ever fits you every night on the MIC,

- 5:42Speaker 8: where the Boston Bruins collide with the Tampa Bay Like
- 5:45Speaker 8: Yoda Go Juma, two teams take their shot at a
- 5:49Speaker 8: one of a kind game, the twenty twenty six Navy
- 5:52Speaker 8: Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series Bruins like Sunday, February first.

- 6:14Speaker 3: Five two win for the Seattle Crack and over the
- 6:16Speaker 3: Toron till Maple leaves for the final time tonight. Welcome
- 6:19Speaker 3: back inside of climbing Pledgerina effort fits you alongside al
- 6:23Speaker 3: Kiniski listening to that Stadium Series commercial that just played
- 6:27Speaker 3: a second ago. Coming up in Tampa on February first,
- 6:31Speaker 3: Tampa's slated to get snow for the first time in
- 6:34Speaker 3: like forty nine years.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Wow, on Saturday.
- 6:38Speaker 3: So tell me there are no hockey guys. We're gonna
- 6:41Speaker 3: go down to the locker room right now. Brandon montur
- 6:44Speaker 3: standing by a goal and an assist here tonight, partner,
- 6:47Speaker 3: great win tonight. You guys have got fourteen goals in
- 6:50Speaker 3: your last three games on a three game winning streak.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Just take us through this effort here tonight and then
- 6:55Speaker 3: wrap up this home stand for us going four and two.
- 6:58Speaker 10: Yeah, you know what, I thought that was a solid
- 6:59Speaker 10: effort from the start right to the end. I think
- 7:01Speaker 10: obviously there's a there's a few mistakes you could clean up,
- 7:04Speaker 10: but you know it's one of those that we played
- 7:07Speaker 10: hard all over the ice. Joe obviously did his thing,
- 7:09Speaker 10: and you know, it's nice to get to get a
- 7:12Speaker 10: few there.
- 7:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 4: You know, Manti that situation there in mid mid game
- 7:16Speaker 4: with kat and taking that hit, Yeah, obviously that's that's
- 7:19Speaker 4: terrible to see. What you know, what's the response from
- 7:22Speaker 4: you guys on the ice there? Obviously we're you know,
- 7:23Speaker 4: we're a long ways away here. What what said? What's done?
- 7:26Speaker 4: What what happens after that?
- 7:27Speaker 10: Yeah, you know what I think it I don't know.
- 7:29Speaker 10: I mean, I didn't see it. You know, you hate
- 7:32Speaker 10: to see, you know, teammate, especially a player, younger guy,
- 7:35Speaker 10: you know, go down like that. You know, guys check
- 7:38Speaker 10: on them after. But uh, you know, I think I
- 7:41Speaker 10: gotta watch the thing. But you know, it's one of
- 7:43Speaker 10: those that's tough. It's like you do you go ask
- 7:45Speaker 10: the guy or are you just trying to wait and
- 7:48Speaker 10: try to find a way to finish him in another time.
- 7:51Speaker 11: I don't think we're.
- 7:51Speaker 10: Necessarily a team that needs to drop the gloves or
- 7:56Speaker 10: necessarily wants to, uh, you know, but if we have to,
- 7:59Speaker 10: you know my case, Uh I can't right now. But
- 8:04Speaker 10: you know, it's just one of those situations I think, Uh,
- 8:07Speaker 10: tough play. Obviously they played hard there.
- 8:10Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 8:10Speaker 10: They said it wasn't too dirty, but you know it
- 8:13Speaker 10: seems like Kats is uh just a little banged up.
- 8:15Speaker 11: But good, good to go, so it's fine. Good.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Hey.
- 8:17Speaker 4: We talked to Lane Lambert before the game. He talked
- 8:19Speaker 4: about you guys. When I say you guys, didn't mean
- 8:21Speaker 4: the Blue Liners jumping into the offense, jumping into rushes,
- 8:24Speaker 4: but doing it intelligently. You grabbed the goal in an
- 8:26Speaker 4: assist tonight. What was it about your game tonight where
- 8:29Speaker 4: you were jumping into those rushes?
- 8:31Speaker 1: Intelligent?
- 8:31Speaker 4: What makes it an intelligent decision when to jump in,
- 8:34Speaker 4: when not to when to get out?
- 8:35Speaker 10: Yeah, honestly, I mean I think I've learned throughout my career.
- 8:38Speaker 10: I don't think I did anything differently. It's just you know,
- 8:40Speaker 10: the puck went in or puck obviously found somebody in
- 8:43Speaker 10: the slot there. But you gotta be smart about you
- 8:45Speaker 10: gotta know the game. Obviously it was a close game.
- 8:50Speaker 10: You know, you op a few goals. You don't want
- 8:51Speaker 10: to be too aggressive, but you don't want to change
- 8:53Speaker 10: your game either, so you play hard physically. You know
- 8:57Speaker 10: in the D zone you close quick, Uh, the puck
- 9:00Speaker 10: back and you could do your thing. You know, all
- 9:01Speaker 10: six of us or eight of us, whoever is in
- 9:04Speaker 10: the lineup, you know like to move their feet, get
- 9:06Speaker 10: up in the play and create things. And I think, uh,
- 9:09Speaker 10: the more you know, our team scores.
- 9:11Speaker 12: Uh.
- 9:12Speaker 10: You know a big part of that, I think is
- 9:13Speaker 10: you know, the creativity and and the help from the
- 9:16Speaker 10: back end.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Bonzi last one here. Every every game is a must
- 9:19Speaker 3: win of the NHL. You want to win every game.
- 9:21Speaker 3: But coming up on this three game road trip in
- 9:23Speaker 3: division right now after this one Vancouver one tonight over Anaheim,
- 9:28Speaker 3: so the crack and now tied for third in the division.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Just set up this three game road trip for us
- 9:33Speaker 3: going into this Olympic break.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You guys, definitely, i'd have.
- 9:36Speaker 3: To imagine want and need a good taste in your
- 9:39Speaker 3: mouth before three weeks off.
- 9:40Speaker 11: Yeah, you want to feel good.
- 9:42Speaker 10: You want to put yourself in the best position as
- 9:43Speaker 10: you can, don't matter who it is. But you know,
- 9:45Speaker 10: like you said, these are three big games, but you know,
- 9:48Speaker 10: you take one game at a time. We've got a
- 9:50Speaker 10: big opponent coming up here, that's obviously ahead of us,
- 9:52Speaker 10: you know, by a little bit more. But you take
- 9:55Speaker 10: care of that one, uh, you know, and then you
- 9:57Speaker 10: go to the next, and then and then in La
- 10:00Speaker 10: so you know, we focus on the next and then
- 10:03Speaker 10: the rest will take care of itself.
- 10:04Speaker 1: How many bibble heads did you take home with you?
- 10:08Speaker 10: I think, I mean, I shift a bunch home so
- 10:10Speaker 10: I don't have too many. I got three for my kids,
- 10:13Speaker 10: and then the rest can go to wherever.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Oh it looked real good man, Oh it was a hit.
- 10:19Speaker 1: It was a big one. It was a big one. Hey,
- 10:21Speaker 1: congrats on the two point night man. Thanks for the time,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and we'll talk to you down the road. We'll see you, guys,
- 10:25Speaker 1: say thanks buddy.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Cracking defenseman Brandon Montor following a goal and an assist
- 10:29Speaker 3: performance here a part of the five to win over
- 10:32Speaker 3: the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Key takeaway tonight tonight, brought to you by Mama Kay
- 10:37Speaker 4: four to two and oh on the home stand. I
- 10:39Speaker 4: think that's good. I was looking for four to one
- 10:42Speaker 4: and oh, but I'll take four two and oh. I
- 10:43Speaker 4: think that's a good run. And obviously to end on
- 10:45Speaker 4: that those three wins, that was big as well. Once again,
- 10:48Speaker 4: Jacob Molnson was seven hits tonight. He said seven hits
- 10:51Speaker 4: in each of the last two games. I keep updating
- 10:54Speaker 4: his average from four to four point two to four
- 10:57Speaker 4: point he's at five now.
- 10:58Speaker 1: They felt kind of quiet, and I guess maybe it's
- 11:01Speaker 1: because them.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I mean, he's now got five hits Jacob Allanson today.
- 11:06Speaker 3: This was game number nineteen for him this season. He's
- 11:10Speaker 3: got five or more hits in eleven of those nineteen games.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Now, what I will say is Jacob Lnson's the kind
- 11:17Speaker 4: of guy that likes to hit you into the board. Yes, okay,
- 11:19Speaker 4: you're not going to see that Ecmin Larsen hit from him.
- 11:21Speaker 4: You're not going to see that Carlo hit on Tovnin
- 11:23Speaker 4: from him. He's going to get you in the corner
- 11:26Speaker 4: when you're going after the puck. So sometimes they're hard
- 11:28Speaker 4: to the boards. Sometimes they're really hard to the boards,
- 11:31Speaker 4: and I saw a couple of those tonight, right with
- 11:33Speaker 4: two goals tonight, big game for him, really showing his stuff.
- 11:37Speaker 5: I like that a lot.
- 11:38Speaker 4: He was on hat trick watch getting that first goal
- 11:41Speaker 4: of night again, so huge. Matty Beniers with the first
- 11:43Speaker 4: one back in the first period and Jared McCann tip
- 11:46Speaker 4: of the cap to him tonight getting on the on
- 11:48Speaker 4: the board again tonight, but more importantly, having to play
- 11:52Speaker 4: two roles as a center and a winger tonight, showing
- 11:55Speaker 4: real leadership from his standpoint. Three stars tonight brought to
- 11:59Speaker 4: you by Triple A of Washington. Third start to night
- 12:02Speaker 4: goes to Joy to Chord, stopping twenty nine of thirty
- 12:04Speaker 4: one and getting a ninety three to five save percentage.
- 12:07Speaker 4: So getting it done back there between the pipes was decord.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Second Star of the night goes to Brandon Montour one goal,
- 12:12Speaker 4: one assist. He was a plus four tonight, so all
- 12:16Speaker 4: but one goal he was out on the ice. Flour
- 12:18Speaker 4: no goals against. Shane Wright was your first star. He
- 12:21Speaker 4: had two goals tonight. He was a plus two as well.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Crackitt Evans. When you're driving around on game day, you
- 12:27Speaker 4: definitely want Triple A by your side. Plus you get discounts,
- 12:30Speaker 4: some entertainment, dining, and much more. Join at Triple A
- 12:34Speaker 4: law dot com. That'll do it for us.
- 12:36Speaker 3: But before we go, Game sixteen of seventeen, this month
- 12:40Speaker 3: has come to an end. The pre the pre Olympic
- 12:44Speaker 3: break home portion of the schedule is over, and I
- 12:47Speaker 3: know that this the speakers are on here in the building.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Before we go, a big fangs to all the people
- 12:53Speaker 3: at CPA, the crack in front office, everyone who has
- 12:57Speaker 3: put in so much hard work and effort this first
- 12:59Speaker 3: half unofficial first half of the season.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I hope everyone in this building listening right now.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Gets some much needed and much deserved time off over
- 13:09Speaker 3: the next few weeks.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Go go do a staycation, do a vacation.
- 13:13Speaker 3: This place would not operate without each and every one
- 13:16Speaker 3: of you, So thank you all. For your hard work
- 13:18Speaker 3: and look forward to a fun march and another playoff
- 13:20Speaker 3: push coming up for the Seattle Krack.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And that'll do it here for us from the booth.
- 13:25Speaker 3: But now across the street we go Mike Benton to
- 13:29Speaker 3: take you the rest of the way.
- 13:30Speaker 13: Guys, thank you very much. Here by the way, folks, again,
- 13:32Speaker 13: you want some good news. As we mentioned earlier, the
- 13:35Speaker 13: Kings lost, the Sharks lost, and.
- 13:37Speaker 5: The Ducks as well.
- 13:38Speaker 13: Well we'll get you up to date here, but the
- 13:39Speaker 13: Canucks making things wiok very very very good, as well
- 13:44Speaker 13: as the Kraken trying to move up in the standings
- 13:47Speaker 13: here after tonight, and well, one more final check tells
- 13:50Speaker 13: us the Ducks also lost to nothing. So the Kraken
- 13:53Speaker 13: back into third place in the Pacific Division after a
- 13:58Speaker 13: four and two homestand and now nine to five into
- 14:01Speaker 13: in this grubling and busy month of January, with one
- 14:05Speaker 13: more game to go that will be in Vegas here
- 14:07Speaker 13: for the month with a crack and also sweeping the
- 14:09Speaker 13: regular season series against the Leafs for the first time
- 14:12Speaker 13: in franchise history, while Shane Wright gets a pretty special
- 14:15Speaker 13: night two goals against the team where he nearby grew
- 14:19Speaker 13: up as well, and also played in an area where
- 14:21Speaker 13: he had his minor hockey days for the Don Mills Flyers.
- 14:24Speaker 13: That was all apart this evening of a four or
- 14:27Speaker 13: five to two win for the Cracking over the Maple
- 14:29Speaker 13: Leafs as we have a lot more to come here
- 14:31Speaker 13: live with you right a back across street over at
- 14:34Speaker 13: Tom's watch bar. Highlights coming up as well, plus our scores,
- 14:37Speaker 13: more reaction from downstairs also Texas right now four nine

- 14:43Speaker 13: four nine four five one with your reaction. Much more
- 14:46Speaker 13: to come after this again your final score Cracking five
- 14:49Speaker 13: maple Leafs two. You're listening to the Global Credit Union

- 20:30Speaker 13: He appeared to be okay, but then the krack and

- 20:36Speaker 13: the Maple LeafSen would tie the game at fifteen oh
- 20:39Speaker 13: two a period one. Nick Robertson getting his twelfth on

- 35:49Speaker 13: All right, We're gonna get after it here because the
- 35:51Speaker 13: Kraken just finished off a six game homestand four and
- 35:54Speaker 13: two in this ridiculously busy month of January and pretty
- 35:58Speaker 13: impressive and how it ends in the five to two
- 36:00Speaker 13: win over the Toronto maple Leafs.
- 36:02Speaker 5: But we have a lot to unpack as well.
- 36:04Speaker 13: Here at Tom's Watchbar, right across from Climate Pledge Arena.

- 36:29Speaker 13: Washbar is packed, folks and again cracking fans. The ice
- 36:31Speaker 13: may be cold, but the energy at Tom's Washbar is electric.
- 36:35Speaker 13: Just ups from Climbing Pledge Arena's Tom's Washbar, all the sports,
- 36:39Speaker 13: all the time. Well, Andrews, I think if you want
- 36:42Speaker 13: to put the crack in in this kind of position,
- 36:44Speaker 13: when you want to give the maple leaves here the
- 36:46Speaker 13: business all the time, You're getting yourself into a pretty
- 36:48Speaker 13: good spot right now. And I think for a night
- 36:51Speaker 13: like this they had to get after it here quick,
- 36:53Speaker 13: because I mean, you're taking on a Maple League team
- 36:56Speaker 13: that has taken their share.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Of hits over and over and over.
- 37:00Speaker 13: We're physically psychologically as well, so you know, for all
- 37:04Speaker 13: intents and purposes, you get off and running here one
- 37:06Speaker 13: twenty one end of the game and then find a
- 37:08Speaker 13: way again to get foot on gas back in period two.
- 37:12Speaker 13: From the initial scope of this, pretty impressive way to finish.
- 37:15Speaker 5: This one off.
- 37:15Speaker 26: Yeah, it's weird to think that this is the first
- 37:17Speaker 26: time the crack and have gotten any points against the
- 37:21Speaker 26: Toronto Maple Leafs at home in their entire five plus
- 37:25Speaker 26: year existence. So good to get that kind of monkey
- 37:29Speaker 26: off their back. I think this has been a tough
- 37:31Speaker 26: matchup for them historically, but to kind of get that one.
- 37:36Speaker 26: And you know, these teams have very similar records coming
- 37:39Speaker 26: in today, but also very different outlooks on their season
- 37:42Speaker 26: because having Toronto be in the Eastern Conference, they're in
- 37:46Speaker 26: a much more difficult position to slide into that playoff
- 37:49Speaker 26: spot versus Seattle. You guys are just talking about it
- 37:52Speaker 26: there in the postgame show, like what's going on around
- 37:55Speaker 26: the Pacific Division and the wild card Cracking Now in
- 37:57Speaker 26: the third spot in the Pacific Division. If they can
- 38:00Speaker 26: end this January window or go into the Olympic break
- 38:05Speaker 26: in the playoff position or even better in a top
- 38:08Speaker 26: three spot in the Pacific I think that will do
- 38:10Speaker 26: wonders for this team moving forward.
- 38:12Speaker 13: We're gonna hear from Lane Lambert here as soon because
- 38:14Speaker 13: the cracking goal scorer is here for tonight Matty Benier's
- 38:17Speaker 13: Shane Wright had too, by the way, his name has
- 38:19Speaker 13: been in the news a ton recently. In this last week,
- 38:22Speaker 13: Brandon montur with a goal Jared McCann empty net goal
- 38:25Speaker 13: as a cracking now back in the.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Third in the Pacific Division.
- 38:28Speaker 13: But Andrews a kind of playoff what you were saying,
- 38:31Speaker 13: this now puts the crack in closer and closer here
- 38:34Speaker 13: to an interesting spot to be in, and they had
- 38:36Speaker 13: to maybe make a decision. I think, are you gonna
- 38:39Speaker 13: be a buyer or are you going to be a seller?
- 38:41Speaker 13: Because the line is so razor thin right now. We
- 38:44Speaker 13: still have over a month ago until trade deadline time.
- 38:48Speaker 13: But this league will go through a couple of weeks
- 38:51Speaker 13: two and a half weeks of a break here for
- 38:52Speaker 13: the Olympics, and then many are saying that after that
- 38:55Speaker 13: Olympic break ends, you could see the levee break part
- 38:59Speaker 13: in the expression of transactions that are going to reshape
- 39:03Speaker 13: plenty of teams and their future across the board. So
- 39:06Speaker 13: I mean there, as I said this earlier on our
- 39:09Speaker 13: radio show, you could go with this in different ways.
- 39:11Speaker 13: I mean, if you want to look here for the
- 39:13Speaker 13: future and push some UFA contracts out, that's totally okay,
- 39:17Speaker 13: because again you're looking to find a way to build
- 39:20Speaker 13: what you have in the pipeline and build a sustainable
- 39:22Speaker 13: winner as well.
- 39:22Speaker 5: But also there is talk.
- 39:25Speaker 13: About what another spot in the playoff just means by
- 39:28Speaker 13: just simply getting there and rewarding players who have been
- 39:31Speaker 13: working so hard as well in that room to get
- 39:34Speaker 13: back in that position as well.
- 39:35Speaker 26: Yeah, and I'm honestly not a fan of waiting until
- 39:38Speaker 26: the absolute very end of trade deadline to figure out
- 39:41Speaker 26: what you're doing. I realize there is some vow validity
- 39:44Speaker 26: in doing that, but you can in this month. But
- 39:49Speaker 26: between now and the trade deadline that you just mentioned,
- 39:52Speaker 26: you could separate yourself a little bit. Yeah, if you
- 39:54Speaker 26: go make a move and bring someone in, uh to
- 39:58Speaker 26: kind of make this team better. Now you can look
- 40:00Speaker 26: at it that way. You can also look at it
- 40:02Speaker 26: as you know, you don't have to go all in
- 40:04Speaker 26: one hundred percent get like go in to get a
- 40:07Speaker 26: bunch of rentals versus you know, sell all your guys.
- 40:11Speaker 26: You know, think about the future. There's Vegas talk, that's
- 40:14Speaker 26: Colorado talks, and there there's a middle ground to play here,
- 40:18Speaker 26: and I think the Crack and are in that spot.
- 40:20Speaker 26: You could still look to maybe move on from your
- 40:23Speaker 26: impending UFAs that maybe aren't big players.
- 40:27Speaker 18: On this team.
- 40:28Speaker 26: Well, I mean, like, you know, you're obviously gonna want
- 40:31Speaker 26: to try and keep the chemistry the way it is.
- 40:33Speaker 26: But if you can go and make this team better
- 40:35Speaker 26: for this year and hopefully for years to come as well,
- 40:39Speaker 26: then I think that's gonna be something where Jason Bottrell,
- 40:43Speaker 26: Ron Francis and the Crack and front office are gonna
- 40:45Speaker 26: look to do in the next coming weeks.
- 40:47Speaker 13: So folks, you'd tell us should the Crack and be
- 40:50Speaker 13: a buyer or a seller? Four nine four five one
- 40:52Speaker 13: on the Tacoma Dodge text line. Also on taking your
- 40:56Speaker 13: posts and tweets as well at X and Twitter at
- 40:59Speaker 13: Benton Underscore, But to go ahead and tell us buyer
- 41:02Speaker 13: or seller at four nine four or five one. They're
- 41:05Speaker 13: back in the third place right now in the Pacific Division.
- 41:08Speaker 13: It looks pretty good, but again the line is so
- 41:10Speaker 13: super razor thin right now because the crack, and today
- 41:13Speaker 13: we're on the outside looking in.
- 41:14Speaker 5: But they got some help.
- 41:16Speaker 13: The King's lost, the Sharks loss in ot the Ducks
- 41:19Speaker 13: loss as well, So the Kraken are back in the third,
- 41:21Speaker 13: but yet are still one point clear of the cut line.
- 41:25Speaker 13: In the Western Conference, it is that condense and they're
- 41:28Speaker 13: five points back of first place Edmonton as well.
- 41:31Speaker 26: Yeah, it's like, it's so weird how one game can
- 41:34Speaker 26: make that big of a difference. But that's how tight
- 41:37Speaker 26: everything is in the Western Conference now. So you can
- 41:40Speaker 26: go on a little bit of a run and separate
- 41:42Speaker 26: yourself a little bit. That's why I think if there
- 41:45Speaker 26: is something out there, like there's talks of our Timmy
- 41:48Speaker 26: paneren in New York. I'm dreaming when I think of that,
- 41:51Speaker 26: but something along those lines where go make a move, now,
- 41:55Speaker 26: go on a run before the Olympic break, get this
- 41:58Speaker 26: in a good position, and uh, you know, you can
- 42:01Speaker 26: find yourself in a good spot and kind of ahead
- 42:04Speaker 26: of the game a little bit. But let's talk about
- 42:06Speaker 26: tonight because I was really, really, really happy with the
- 42:09Speaker 26: way that Cracking played. Toronto's been a tough team to
- 42:11Speaker 26: play against, the Cracking in their history because of all
- 42:14Speaker 26: the skill they have.
- 42:15Speaker 18: They're in a tough spot right now.
- 42:17Speaker 26: No, Mitch Marner obviously, Austin Matthews has been getting better.
- 42:21Speaker 18: Still not like the same type of like top three
- 42:24Speaker 18: or four players.
- 42:25Speaker 13: Had camera gate. Their head coach has a big gash
- 42:28Speaker 13: in his forehead from a gym.
- 42:29Speaker 5: Miss.
- 42:29Speaker 26: Yeah, there's a bunch of stuffs for them, and which
- 42:33Speaker 26: is weird because they have basically the same record as
- 42:35Speaker 26: the Krakens, so it's the but that's how different it
- 42:37Speaker 26: is in the Eastern Conference versus the West. So it's
- 42:39Speaker 26: very gettable right now. And uh, I love how Joey
- 42:43Speaker 26: to Corn played. I love how Brandon Montur played. I
- 42:46Speaker 26: love how Shane Wright played. I love how Jacob Malonsa played.
- 42:49Speaker 26: There's a lot of positives.
- 42:50Speaker 18: From this game.
- 42:51Speaker 13: Also, if you're a Mariner fan and a hockey fan crossover,
- 42:53Speaker 13: How happy are you are you with tonight?
- 42:55Speaker 27: Oh?
- 42:56Speaker 18: Excellent?
- 42:56Speaker 1: Happy?
- 42:57Speaker 5: How happy you is softy with tonight?
- 42:58Speaker 18: All excellent? You love to see Toronto lose, Although I
- 43:01Speaker 18: will say it was.
- 43:03Speaker 26: I was very happy, but it was tough to hear
- 43:06Speaker 26: you say thank you Edmonton in the post game because
- 43:08Speaker 26: they were the ones who uh crudging for you, I know,
- 43:11Speaker 26: verygrudgingly for me. But we did need them to beat
- 43:14Speaker 26: San Jose today, so that was a big win in
- 43:17Speaker 26: multiple ways. It's just, uh, I think this team starting
- 43:20Speaker 26: to kind of figure it out. Lane Lambert after the
- 43:23Speaker 26: Anaheim game really kind of took it to his guys
- 43:26Speaker 26: a little bit, and you could tell they responded. These
- 43:28Speaker 26: last few games. They played really good hockey, doing what
- 43:32Speaker 26: they're supposed to do.
- 43:33Speaker 11: Uh.
- 43:34Speaker 18: Their power play has been good.
- 43:36Speaker 17: Uh.
- 43:37Speaker 18: I just I love to see what Matti Benier's is doing.
- 43:39Speaker 26: Let's let's talk about him because I think if he
- 43:43Speaker 26: is going to become a seventy plus point guy, sixty
- 43:47Speaker 26: seventy plus point guy, that changes everything for your team, because.
- 43:52Speaker 18: That's the one type of thing this cracking team is
- 43:54Speaker 18: missing right now.
- 43:56Speaker 26: And I think up until now, I think thought of
- 43:58Speaker 26: Matti Benier's as Okay, you know, he's a fifty to
- 44:00Speaker 26: sixty point guy.
- 44:01Speaker 18: He'll be like a two seed.
- 44:03Speaker 26: He can play really good two way hockey against the
- 44:07Speaker 26: top line of the other team. But if he can
- 44:09Speaker 26: translate that into sustainable offense moving forward like he did
- 44:14Speaker 26: this entire month. Ten plus goals in a month is
- 44:19Speaker 26: really really good. And you got that from both Matt
- 44:21Speaker 26: Eveneers and Jared mccannon this month.
- 44:23Speaker 13: How about this right now, he's got thirty seven points
- 44:26Speaker 13: and fifty three games up to fourteen goals. Now he's
- 44:29Speaker 13: on pace to equal his career high set back when
- 44:33Speaker 13: he won the Calder Trophy three years ago.
- 44:36Speaker 26: And like to me, that should be his baseline. That
- 44:38Speaker 26: should be his baseline, right, you got to take a
- 44:41Speaker 26: step up after that for this next couple of years,
- 44:43Speaker 26: and I believe he can do.
- 44:44Speaker 13: That, and I think we also what's important to understand
- 44:47Speaker 13: about Matty Beniers is how much he is turning now
- 44:51Speaker 13: into a player who has looked at to drive a
- 44:53Speaker 13: line under he can drive the bus. It was no
- 44:56Speaker 13: more apparent to me than to hear Lane Lambert earlier
- 44:59Speaker 13: today when I asked him about putting Jared mccahn back
- 45:02Speaker 13: up on that top line, because he had been playing
- 45:04Speaker 13: with Shane Wright and Berkeley Catton previously, and a lot
- 45:06Speaker 13: of shuffling going on as well. But now you have McCann,
- 45:10Speaker 13: Beniers and everly obvious answer is you want to put
- 45:13Speaker 13: your top three guys and see if you can maximize
- 45:15Speaker 13: offense for them. But Lane Lambert said, we want to
- 45:19Speaker 13: get the most out of Jared McCann. Who's your center.
- 45:22Speaker 13: Who's the guy you're looking at to get the most
- 45:25Speaker 13: out of Jared McCann. Who's your center, who's going to
- 45:27Speaker 13: make your line mats better. Matty Baniers is now looked
- 45:30Speaker 13: at as a guy who makes his line mates better.
- 45:32Speaker 5: Yep, that's a transformation now.
- 45:34Speaker 18: And you look at the confidence that he's playing with.
- 45:36Speaker 26: You look at that first goal, I realize it's a
- 45:39Speaker 26: wide open shot man Toronto. That was tough to watch
- 45:43Speaker 26: from a defensive perspective. How does he get that open
- 45:45Speaker 26: in the slot in the first minute and a half
- 45:47Speaker 26: in a game? That's not what we're talking about tonight.
- 45:50Speaker 26: That the confidence he took that shot with is something
- 45:54Speaker 26: that I have hadn't seen from him in the last
- 45:56Speaker 26: couple of years. So that's gonna be something where if
- 45:59Speaker 26: he can take used to play in that way, take
- 46:01Speaker 26: more shots, drive more offense. And I think playing with
- 46:06Speaker 26: mccannon evererly has done a lot for his confidence and
- 46:08Speaker 26: that's gonna be huge frue.
- 46:09Speaker 13: I want to get to the million dollar question here
- 46:11Speaker 13: of the night. Yeah, how do you feel about the
- 46:12Speaker 13: Oliver Ekman Larson hit and the response after.
- 46:15Speaker 26: Oh yeah, Uh you mean the lack thereof uh, because yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 26: I mean, if we're gonna talk about high skilled players,
- 46:22Speaker 26: Berkeley chattons in that category, he made a couple fantastic
- 46:25Speaker 26: plays just right before that hit, and uh, it's unfortunate
- 46:29Speaker 26: to see him get hit in that moment. Now, I
- 46:32Speaker 26: was watching the broadcast or had the broadcast onto my
- 46:35Speaker 26: ear for the ESPN side, they made sure to let
- 46:39Speaker 26: the audience know right away that Eckman Larsen kind of
- 46:42Speaker 26: knew that he did something bad and was like kind
- 46:44Speaker 26: of went up.
- 46:45Speaker 18: To tap Berk and the big fair.
- 46:46Speaker 16: It was.
- 46:46Speaker 5: It was a very predatorial hip and just the optics
- 46:50Speaker 5: did did not look good.
- 46:52Speaker 26: Like he wasn't going after him. He wasn't like it
- 46:55Speaker 26: wasn't a late hit or anything.
- 46:56Speaker 11: It was.
- 46:58Speaker 26: It just happened to look pretty bad because Berkeley Caton
- 47:01Speaker 26: was looking the other way. It was a blind side
- 47:02Speaker 26: hit and Eckman Larson was going for the puck the
- 47:05Speaker 26: whole way. It's it's nothing, don't worse about the Carlo
- 47:08Speaker 26: hit on toll of them totally agree. But that being said,
- 47:12Speaker 26: it doesn't matter if it's a dirty hit or not.
- 47:15Speaker 26: If your guy is injured and he goes back to
- 47:18Speaker 26: the locker room, ends the game for that sake. Now,
- 47:21Speaker 26: Brandon Montour told us right after that it seems like
- 47:23Speaker 26: he's gonna be okay, which is great. That's great, but
- 47:27Speaker 26: you still want to see something. It doesn't have to
- 47:29Speaker 26: be dropping the gloves. Yes, like everyone thinks, oh, that
- 47:32Speaker 26: means you're gonna have to go fight the guy. No,
- 47:33Speaker 26: you don't have to go and fight the guy. Just
- 47:35Speaker 26: go put an extra hit on him, like, have a
- 47:38Speaker 26: message be sent. And you know, someone like Jacob Alanson
- 47:42Speaker 26: I think is excellent at doing that kind of thing. Yeah,
- 47:44Speaker 26: so take a number, go after him. If it's a
- 47:47Speaker 26: little late, maybe you get a penalty, fine, but you
- 47:49Speaker 26: gotta send a message that you can't be doing that
- 47:52Speaker 26: kind of stuff to our young, talented, skilled guy.
- 47:54Speaker 13: I'm really curious to hear what Lane Lambert thinks about that,
- 47:57Speaker 13: because we saw Vince Done take a number with Ekman Larson.
- 48:00Speaker 13: Very next shift, Jared McCann give a couple of shoves
- 48:03Speaker 13: teach Man Larsen as well. He had certainly a message
- 48:05Speaker 13: in mind right there. But again it goes right back
- 48:07Speaker 13: to who's going to respond and who's not. And on
- 48:10Speaker 13: this lane Lambert team usually thats up is called out
- 48:13Speaker 13: very very quickly here, so I'm very curious about that.
- 48:16Speaker 13: But nonetheless the Crack can still get out of this
- 48:18Speaker 13: one when the sweep of the Maple Leafs and a
- 48:19Speaker 13: five to two win over the Toronto maple Leafs. Again
- 48:22Speaker 13: our big question here four nine four or five one
- 48:24Speaker 13: to komandajh text line, do you think buyer or seller
- 48:28Speaker 13: here for the Krack? And at this point of the
- 48:29Speaker 13: season again four nine four or five one one quot
- 48:32Speaker 13: check right now mentioning number twenty four right now in
- 48:36Speaker 13: all of this, but not big on Renhols would rather
- 48:38Speaker 13: work with what we have right now that from Teresa
- 48:41Speaker 13: in the two five to three four to two five
- 48:44Speaker 13: bringing up Shane Wright guess who name has been out
- 48:46Speaker 13: there for quite a bit, but also Riker Evans as well.
- 48:49Speaker 13: He has been playing better as well recently though especially
- 48:52Speaker 13: with Ryan linbren.
- 48:53Speaker 26: Yeah, that's the tough part if you're going to talk
- 48:55Speaker 26: about the trade deadline and all that kind of stuff.
- 48:57Speaker 26: The players you're getting to get more value from are
- 49:00Speaker 26: the players that you have long tenured contracts with, the
- 49:03Speaker 26: Riker Evans, the Shane Wrights of the world. Right, and uh,
- 49:07Speaker 26: obviously you're not moving like the big names, the Berkeley
- 49:10Speaker 26: Catons and Matty Veneers, the Brandon Montours of the world.
- 49:13Speaker 26: But if you're gonna try and go and change this
- 49:17Speaker 26: franchise's outlook and bring in someone who changes raises that
- 49:21Speaker 26: ceiling a little bit, then then you gotta be looking
- 49:24Speaker 26: to either move picks or you gotta move some guys
- 49:27Speaker 26: that are young and have, you know, years available. If
- 49:31Speaker 26: you are gonna just maybe sell off your impending free agents,
- 49:36Speaker 26: that's gonna include Jordan Eberley, Jane Schwartz, and Jamie alexiak Right,
- 49:40Speaker 26: you don't have to do all of them. You don't
- 49:42Speaker 26: have to do none of them. You don't have to
- 49:43Speaker 26: go all in on By, you don't have to go
- 49:45Speaker 26: all in on Sell. I would think my personal preference
- 49:48Speaker 26: at this point, I think you have an up depth
- 49:50Speaker 26: on the blue line to move Jamie alexiak Uh.
- 49:53Speaker 18: You definitely have the ability to do that.
- 49:56Speaker 26: Hopefully maybe add some uh umph in your off a
- 50:00Speaker 26: little bit You're not gonna get a ton from him,
- 50:03Speaker 26: but if you package him with maybe a couple of
- 50:05Speaker 26: draft picks or something, you could get something out of that.
- 50:07Speaker 26: Jane Schwartz I think has a lot of value, a
- 50:09Speaker 26: lot more value. And that's where it's gonna be, Like, Okay,
- 50:14Speaker 26: how much is he going to be a part of
- 50:16Speaker 26: this long term picture? If he if you can get
- 50:19Speaker 26: something back from him, that changes everything. Like, I know,
- 50:23Speaker 26: I'm gonna keep bringing it up, but yeah, there was
- 50:26Speaker 26: rumors that Seattle was interested in our Tammy Pineren from
- 50:29Speaker 26: New York. I think that is going to be a
- 50:32Speaker 26: huge kind of deciding factor whether you're willing to move
- 50:36Speaker 26: on from a Jayde Schwartz or not.
- 50:38Speaker 13: Folks, if you might remember what the Matthew could Shuck
- 50:41Speaker 13: did trade, Yes for the Florida Pantas. Remember what the
- 50:44Speaker 13: Quinn Hughes trade is doing for the Minnesota Wild If
- 50:48Speaker 13: you recall what the Tamu Saloni trade did, Yeah, for
- 50:51Speaker 13: the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
- 50:53Speaker 18: You have picks, you have to use them.
- 50:55Speaker 13: You have to find a way to make your team
- 50:57Speaker 13: better because trades like that aren't just a jolet for
- 51:01Speaker 13: your room. It can set your franchise up as well,
- 51:04Speaker 13: long and I mean long term. Keep this in mind
- 51:07Speaker 13: and keep this to mind. Andrews Altita for your right ear.
- 51:09Speaker 13: Yeah yeah, m krack him two first round picks this
- 51:12Speaker 13: next year's draft, two first round picks in twenty twenty seven,
- 51:16Speaker 13: four second round picks available combined second round this year
- 51:21Speaker 13: next year.
- 51:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:22Speaker 26: I mean, you have a lot to play with, and
- 51:24Speaker 26: you don't want to be irresponsible, right, You don't want
- 51:27Speaker 26: to go and just go all in on someone and
- 51:31Speaker 26: maybe not know that they're gonna be here long term,
- 51:33Speaker 26: and not know if they're gonna be, like, you know,
- 51:36Speaker 26: a true difference maker. I wouldn't believe that would be
- 51:39Speaker 26: the case. If you were gonna go after saying ur
- 51:41Speaker 26: Timmy Pineren or something like that. I think I would
- 51:44Speaker 26: feel really good about the Krakens chance if you were
- 51:47Speaker 26: to make that trade and then especially to go and
- 51:50Speaker 26: sign that extension. This is just all an example, right
- 51:54Speaker 26: someone along those lines. There's gonna be more players like
- 51:57Speaker 26: that available as more teams start falling out of it
- 52:00Speaker 26: as well, possibly like lesser of a level, but Steven
- 52:04Speaker 26: Stamkos from Nashville, maybe uh Ryan o'riiley, Jonathan Marsh is
- 52:10Speaker 26: thought like that's gonna be an option as well. There's
- 52:12Speaker 26: gonna be teams that start falling out of it where
- 52:15Speaker 26: the Kracking can start to think, well, maybe we can
- 52:17Speaker 26: start to kind of go into that direction and bring
- 52:21Speaker 26: in an older guy who's developed and already a proven
- 52:26Speaker 26: point getter in this league. And I think it would
- 52:29Speaker 26: change a lot of things with this team because I
- 52:32Speaker 26: love a lot of the players that Kraken have right now.
- 52:34Speaker 26: I think if they were to maybe a lot of
- 52:37Speaker 26: people would be one roll level down third line to
- 52:41Speaker 26: fourth line, second line to third line, first line to
- 52:43Speaker 26: second line. I think this team would be in a
- 52:46Speaker 26: lot better shape.
- 52:47Speaker 13: You tell us, folks, four nine four five one to
- 52:49Speaker 13: Koma doj texs line.
- 52:51Speaker 5: Buyer or seller? At this point? Where are the Kraken
- 52:54Speaker 5: four nine four or five to one reaction?
- 52:56Speaker 13: More from you and for pet coach Lane Lambert after
- 52:59Speaker 13: this right here on Talking Kracking Live from Tom's Watchbar
- 53:02Speaker 13: on ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 53:05Speaker 2: If you've got to come in about tonight's cracking game,
- 53:08Speaker 2: make sure we hear about it. Just text us at
- 53:11Speaker 2: four nine four five one. Now back to Tucking Kracking
- 53:14Speaker 2: with Mike Benton on Sports Radio ninety three point three
- 53:18Speaker 2: kjr FM.
- 53:20Speaker 13: All Right, Reece here from Kenton the two five three
- 53:22Speaker 13: saying the Cracking should definitely be buyers and take advantage
- 53:25Speaker 13: here of your aces in the hole, and you're talking
- 53:27Speaker 13: about two excellent goaltenders. That's from recent Kent on the
- 53:30Speaker 13: two five three and from the four to two five,
- 53:32Speaker 13: just saying that let's keep the street going here and
- 53:35Speaker 13: there are two points in Vegas and go to California
- 53:37Speaker 13: with a solid third place in the division after the
- 53:39Speaker 13: four to two five.
- 53:40Speaker 26: Uh yeah, big thing for me is I actually started
- 53:45Speaker 26: thinking about this today. Matt Murray is kind of on
- 53:48Speaker 26: the comeback trail. Do you think about moving one of
- 53:51Speaker 26: your goaltenders?
- 53:51Speaker 13: It brings a very interesting question of could you possibly
- 53:54Speaker 13: do it here because this league a lot of them
- 53:56Speaker 13: need goaltending.
- 53:56Speaker 26: Yeah, and the KRACK can have two, possibly even three
- 54:00Speaker 26: good goaltenders right now.
- 54:01Speaker 18: Now. I hesitate to say that because Philip Grubauer would probably.
- 54:06Speaker 26: Be the first name on that list if you were
- 54:08Speaker 26: to move, someone who would have value, but you would
- 54:10Speaker 26: also feel comfortable moving on from that away.
- 54:13Speaker 5: So through the Olympics.
- 54:14Speaker 13: Also that because there's also the whole Domino costa games
- 54:17Speaker 13: re scare thing.
- 54:17Speaker 26: Remember, yeah, I do remember that. And but he's been
- 54:21Speaker 26: your best goaltender this year. I love the way Joey
- 54:23Speaker 26: played tonight. It's great to have two good guys a
- 54:26Speaker 26: step in the net for you. But Philip Grubauer has
- 54:29Speaker 26: been your best goaltender this year. And if you were
- 54:31Speaker 26: to move on from him, how much would that actually
- 54:33Speaker 26: change your outlook moving forward?
- 54:34Speaker 18: So I don't know.
- 54:35Speaker 26: That's a question that if you want to truly be
- 54:37Speaker 26: a buyer, you want to get something in return. That
- 54:40Speaker 26: could be an option for you.
- 54:41Speaker 18: But I don't know.
- 54:42Speaker 13: Krack and win five to two over the leaves. Back
- 54:45Speaker 13: downstairs we go. Here's that coach Laine Lambert meeting with
- 54:47Speaker 13: the media.
- 54:48Speaker 11: Plaine, you guys have got four the last five, three
- 54:51Speaker 11: in a row. What are the common elements of those
- 54:54Speaker 11: games that you like? A commitment? Just really for me,
- 54:59Speaker 11: we're into playing the right way. It's not always perfect,
- 55:04Speaker 11: but when you try and play the right way. I've
- 55:07Speaker 11: said it all year long, oftentimes you end up on
- 55:09Speaker 11: the right side of it and you give yourself a
- 55:12Speaker 11: good chance to win. And that's what we've been doing lately.
- 55:14Speaker 11: So credit to our guys.
- 55:16Speaker 6: Have you guys are your coaching staff talked to Shane
- 55:18Speaker 6: a little bit about shooting more.
- 55:19Speaker 11: It seems like he certainly took that up tonight. Yeah, well,
- 55:23Speaker 11: you know he can shoot, and you know it was
- 55:26Speaker 11: very evident. I liked his first goal when he went
- 55:28Speaker 11: to the net, and you know that was a huge
- 55:31Speaker 11: goal for us when he came off the wall there.
- 55:35Speaker 11: He's had opportunities. He's hit posts, he's hit crossbars. You know,
- 55:40Speaker 11: he finally got rewarded tonight for that one. Coach, I
- 55:48Speaker 11: was Berkeley done? First of all, I haven't checked on him,
- 55:53Speaker 11: obviously evaluated, didn't finish the game, So we'll see how
- 55:56Speaker 11: he is tomorrow.
- 55:58Speaker 28: Any thoughts on that that incident, I mean, it looks
- 56:01Speaker 28: pretty incidental, but would you like to see a little
- 56:03Speaker 28: bit more of like a physical response.
- 56:04Speaker 11: From your team? And I guess what did you think
- 56:06Speaker 11: of the Well, like you said, it was pretty incidental.
- 56:08Speaker 11: There was a couple of guys reaching for the puck,
- 56:10Speaker 11: and you know, Eckman Larson's a little bit bigger than Berkeley.
- 56:13Speaker 11: I thought he got sort of stretched and exposed. But
- 56:18Speaker 11: you know, it was a it was a in my mind,
- 56:20Speaker 11: was a little bit of a hockey play. So you know,
- 56:22Speaker 11: I liked our I liked our game overall.
- 56:25Speaker 28: And you guys have beaten Toronto twice now this season
- 56:27Speaker 28: after you just left there after last year.
- 56:30Speaker 11: What does that mean for you? Uh, well, anytime you
- 56:33Speaker 11: play you know a team you've been with formerly, which
- 56:37Speaker 11: seems to be quite a few of them lately, been
- 56:41Speaker 11: around too long. I guess, uh, it's it's nice to
- 56:44Speaker 11: beat them. Lane. This is another instance where you guys
- 56:51Speaker 11: got a couple of goals and you know within a
- 56:52Speaker 11: minute span, what do you attribute that to? Or I
- 56:56Speaker 11: just think, uh, you know, we're again. I I like
- 57:00Speaker 11: our focus and I like the fact that we're staying
- 57:03Speaker 11: on our toes and pushing north and you know we
- 57:06Speaker 11: have scored you know, some goals here and rapid fire,
- 57:09Speaker 11: so to speak. So it's good to see and you know,
- 57:13Speaker 11: it builds a confidence.
- 57:18Speaker 27: Speaking of that, I don't know if you can go
- 57:19Speaker 27: more north than Freddy did on that setup for montor
- 57:23Speaker 27: going into end there to what do you think of
- 57:24Speaker 27: that play from him to get to set up Brandon
- 57:27Speaker 27: for that and then that whole sequence for you guys.
- 57:29Speaker 11: Yeah, Freddy's been outstanding for us. He does so many
- 57:31Speaker 11: things for us. I thought, uh, you know, he he
- 57:34Speaker 11: has this ability to accept avability uh through the neutral
- 57:38Speaker 11: zone with the buck. It's kind of unique. And uh,
- 57:43Speaker 11: you know, I thought it was an outstanding play by
- 57:45Speaker 11: him as a great job by Monty had driven wide.
- 57:48Speaker 11: You know, Freddy's made those plays. He's made a play
- 57:50Speaker 11: like that in uh in Utah as well when Chandler
- 57:53Speaker 11: Stevenson scored on a breakaway. So, uh, Freddy's got a
- 57:56Speaker 11: good head on his shoulders and he does a lot
- 57:58Speaker 11: of things for us. Uh and you know, we're pretty
- 58:01Speaker 11: lucky to have him. And what'd you think of Joey tonight?
- 58:04Speaker 27: Obviously he had the big save there on Statchers rebound,
- 58:07Speaker 27: but then there was a couple of scrambles defense as
- 58:09Speaker 27: well around the net there that he was able to
- 58:10Speaker 27: hold up there. Would you kind of make that.
- 58:12Speaker 11: Whole effort for you? Yeah, I think Joey's been good.
- 58:14Speaker 11: I thought he played good last game. I thought he
- 58:16Speaker 11: played good tonight. He made some big saves when we
- 58:18Speaker 11: needed him too. There's no question about it. You know,
- 58:21Speaker 11: those scrambles, those little things happened. But I think he's
- 58:26Speaker 11: in my mind anyway. I'm no goalie expert, but he's
- 58:28Speaker 11: under control and he's tight and there aren't a lot
- 58:33Speaker 11: of holes on him.
- 58:36Speaker 24: Coach, I wanted to talk about that Montor goal too,
- 58:40Speaker 24: but from a different perspective because it started when Matthews
- 58:44Speaker 24: tried a wrap around and the cord stopped him, and
- 58:47Speaker 24: it was defense leading to offense. And it seems like
- 58:52Speaker 24: you're getting more goals that way too, And I seem
- 58:56Speaker 24: to remember that was something you were emphasizing too. Let's
- 58:58Speaker 24: get our offense from defending and then carrying the puck
- 59:03Speaker 24: out and if you could speak to.
- 59:04Speaker 11: That, Yeah, it's a good observation by you. I thought
- 59:07Speaker 11: Joey made a real good save on a guy who
- 59:09Speaker 11: he tried to go far side with a Matthews the goalscorer. Obviously,
- 59:13Speaker 11: Joey kicked his leg out there and made a heck
- 59:14Speaker 11: of a save for us. And then you know, for us,
- 59:18Speaker 11: we just we talk about transition, and it's both ways,
- 59:21Speaker 11: whether it be from offense to defense if we lose
- 59:23Speaker 11: the puck, or from defense to offense when we get
- 59:25Speaker 11: the puck. We continue to want to be fast, We
- 59:30Speaker 11: continue to try to be fast. We think we're fast
- 59:34Speaker 11: certainly when we're doing that. And I thought our transition
- 59:37Speaker 11: game was pretty good.
- 59:39Speaker 13: All right, that's the reaction from head coach Lane Lamb.
- 59:41Speaker 13: But also big ups here for some self deprecating humor
- 59:44Speaker 13: as well. He is delivering some gems postgame when it
- 59:48Speaker 13: comes to this here. But the feelings are up, the
- 59:51Speaker 13: vibes are up here after a five to two went
- 59:52Speaker 13: over the leaves before we go. Also one more check
- 59:55Speaker 13: of the text line again ta Komanovs text line two.
- 59:57Speaker 13: I was six, say another game with Jacob Alaanson with
- 1:00:00Speaker 13: seven hits here this evening, one of the most aggressive
- 1:00:03Speaker 13: players in the league. The Kraken pointed out now twelve
- 1:00:06Speaker 13: to and two the Milonson in last sixteen games that
- 1:00:10Speaker 13: from the two zero six.
- 1:00:12Speaker 26: Yeah, I mean, I wish we were at a place
- 1:00:15Speaker 26: as a franchise to not rely on a fourth line
- 1:00:18Speaker 26: heavy hitter to be the guy that like catalyzes your
- 1:00:22Speaker 26: team to wins. But that's where we're at at this point,
- 1:00:25Speaker 26: and it's it's a credit to Jacob Alanson and how
- 1:00:28Speaker 26: much of an impact he has uh in going in
- 1:00:32Speaker 26: making a difference. You could tell every single time he's
- 1:00:34Speaker 26: on the ice, Like even if you don't look at
- 1:00:37Speaker 26: his number, you can tell, oh, that's Jacob mallonson out
- 1:00:40Speaker 26: there because he's going and finishing every single check possible.
- 1:00:44Speaker 18: Uh, but I think you can't argue with the numbers.
- 1:00:47Speaker 26: It's he has that much of an impact on this
- 1:00:50Speaker 26: team and it's not just him, and when he's on
- 1:00:52Speaker 26: the ice, the other guys respond in the same way.
- 1:00:55Speaker 18: So good to see, you know, his impact be ye
- 1:01:00Speaker 18: realized by a lot of other people on this here.
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: He made an impact.
- 1:01:04Speaker 13: Nine players made an impact on the score sheet tonight,
- 1:01:07Speaker 13: led by Shane Wright to goals, Jared McCann two points,
- 1:01:11Speaker 13: random on toward two points as well a goal and
- 1:01:13Speaker 13: assist all the time we got here, folks again, thank
- 1:01:16Speaker 13: you again for hanging out with us and for your
- 1:01:18Speaker 13: reaction as well. The Cracking again back in action Saturday
- 1:01:21Speaker 13: against Vegas open a three game road trip. We're right
- 1:01:25Speaker 13: back here, watch party, going down to Tom's watch bar.
- 1:01:27Speaker 13: Hope that you can certainly join us here once again.
- 1:01:30Speaker 13: Airtime six point thirty on the Global Credit Union Cracking
- 1:01:33Speaker 13: Audio Networker thanks to Travis Mulger, technical director, also our
- 1:01:37Speaker 13: on site engineer Terry Ryan Is that will do it
- 1:01:39Speaker 13: for here For andrews Hurst, this is Mike Benton saying
- 1:01:42Speaker 13: good night from Climbing Pledge Arena and Tom's Watch Bar,
- 1:01:45Speaker 13: and thank you for joining us. Your final score once again,
- 1:01:48Speaker 13: the Seattle crack In five, the Toronto mapple Leafs two.
- 1:01:53Speaker 13: This is Talking Cracking on ninety three to three KJRFM
