Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: I thought I'd be updating the cricket all the way
- 0:01Speaker 1: through this hour, but I won't because they've just lost
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Indian India has won by forty four runs. New
- 0:07Speaker 1: Zealand got to two hundred and five and Elliott Smith joins.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Me right now, morning Andrew.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Not the end of the world though, because Jimmy's coming
- 0:14Speaker 1: on Wednesday. But not a good practice.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Run No, And it was actually looking quite good, but
- 0:18Speaker 2: came Williamson who made eighty one. Couldn't find anyone to
- 0:20Speaker 2: stick with him. They had partnerships of thirty forty ish
- 0:24Speaker 2: for a couple of players, but the spinners, the Indian
- 0:27Speaker 2: spinners took hold in the Dubai wicket and what was
- 0:30Speaker 2: quite promising the one hundred and thirty three for three
- 0:32Speaker 2: and thirty third over chasing two fifty, but is a
- 0:34Speaker 2: none could stick with Cain Williamson and bowled out for
- 0:37Speaker 2: two hundred and five Aria on Wednesday night.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Okay, so South Africa is next. Okay, Ration got six Rasia,
- 0:43Speaker 1: Ravender got six, Darrell got seventeen, Tom Latham fourteen, then
- 0:48Speaker 1: Phillips twelve. But all those players have stood up before
- 0:51Speaker 1: in the tournaments that we've played over the last couple
- 0:53Speaker 1: of weeks. So they've been and now and now finally
- 0:57Speaker 1: Caine has got a biggish score, so you got to
- 1:00Speaker 1: they were all good for a semi.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Let's hope it all comes together in a semi final
- 1:03Speaker 2: against South Africa. You know, we've got the wood on
- 1:05Speaker 2: them traditionally and some of those big games. So you
- 1:08Speaker 2: think back to twenty fifteen World Cup semi final there
- 1:11Speaker 2: at Eden Park, so there's president there and back to Laho.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So they went to Dubai for this one, back to
- 1:15Speaker 2: Laha for Wednesday art semifinal.
- 1:18Speaker 1: The Warriors were beaten too. Everything.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yes, that was pretty poor, wasn't it.
- 1:22Speaker 1: What did you say to me before you said it
- 1:24Speaker 1: was like they were still in pre season.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yes, there was no attacking structure, no defensive structure. I
- 1:28Speaker 2: was not sure what they've been doing for, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 2: months on end. Very disappointing and I don't know whether
- 1:34Speaker 2: it was the Vegas bright lights or whatever, but I
- 1:37Speaker 2: think there was more to it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: The comentos were going on about how thin the field
- 1:41Speaker 1: is and so why weren't they putting it out wide
- 1:44Speaker 1: because we were all crammed up in the middle.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So I thought there was didn't seem to be any
- 1:47Speaker 2: ability to build pressure on the Raiders. The tries that
- 1:50Speaker 2: the Warriors got were opportunistic towards the end of each half.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Very disappointing and the Raiders, who were not expected to
- 1:58Speaker 2: be up there this season, and indeed the Warriors went
- 2:01Speaker 2: into that game as favorites. Well they absolutely belted the Warriors.
- 2:03Speaker 2: So a lot of soul searching to do. And now
- 2:05Speaker 2: this allegation this morning that Richard Agar, one of the
- 2:09Speaker 2: Warriors assistants, has basically throttled a British journalist in the
- 2:13Speaker 2: press box. So the nrols investigating that, the Warriors looking
- 2:16Speaker 2: into it as well. So couldn't have gone much worse,
- 2:19Speaker 2: to be honest, yesterday, Andrew.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But that's why I then went over to the golf.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yes, this was very pretty there wasn't that uplifting it.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Was and Ricky Punting got an eagle on the seventh,
- 2:26Speaker 1: which shows you when you play a program you actually
- 2:28Speaker 1: can play some pretty good golf.
- 2:29Speaker 2: He's pretty handy, Ricky Ponting and the winner of that
- 2:32Speaker 2: tournament as well, a former bikey who's turned his life
- 2:35Speaker 2: around and really great tests, great hats implately and as
- 2:39Speaker 2: well Lydia Coe won the women's World Championship in Singapore,
- 2:42Speaker 2: so she's had a great weekend of course.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Thank you so much, Jerdie. It's Smith on Sport For
- 2:46Speaker 1: more from Early Edition with Ryan Bridge.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Listen live to news Talks. It'd be from five am weekdays,
