Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a Lilypad production.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hello there leapfrogs and welcome back to a very special fandomonium.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It's very special because we are covering a fandom that
- 0:11Speaker 2: has been requested since all the way back in 2023.
- 0:16Speaker 2: That's right, we are leaping into the world of The
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hunger Games. Cannot wait for you to hear the chaos
- 0:23Speaker 2: that happened in this episode. There is one round that
- 0:26Speaker 2: is very visual-based, so if you want to come and
- 0:29Speaker 2: join us over on Patreon, for just four bucks a month,
- 0:32Speaker 2: you can get access to all of our video episodes.
- 0:36Speaker 2: That's patreon.com forward slash gateleapers. But there's still plenty of
- 0:40Speaker 2: audio fun in this episode for you to enjoy, including
- 0:44Speaker 2: our fantastic panel for this show. Joining the always amazing Audra,
- 0:50Speaker 2: we had Ian Bloss from Felty and Friends. 30 Seconds
- 0:55Speaker 2: to Gotham, Alphabet Soup occasionally.
- 0:58Speaker 1: We love Ian.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Ian is a brilliant young improviser who is also going
- 1:02Speaker 2: to be part of a Tennessee Williams-themed improv team that
- 1:06Speaker 2: has formed in our community that is just, it's next-level improv.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And that team is helmed by another member of our lineup,
- 1:15Speaker 2: Julia Bosie.
- 1:16Speaker 1: You know her, you love her.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Julia was on top form for this record. I think
- 1:21Speaker 2: she says early on that She would cry if she
- 1:24Speaker 2: wasn't on this lineup.
- 1:26Speaker 1: She was on this lineup. No tears. Julia is fantastic.
- 1:30Speaker 1: We love Julia.
- 1:31Speaker 2: And joining her on her team was the booktuber James Tullis.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We were so thrilled to have James join us on
- 1:38Speaker 2: this lineup. He's a local content creator with an international audience.
- 1:42Speaker 2: He does reviews, deep dives, video essays into everything books
- 1:47Speaker 2: and fiction. And like most of us, he grew up
- 1:50Speaker 2: on the works of Suzanne Collins.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Susan? Suzanne? Susanna?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Well, I'm not the expert, James is. I can't wait
- 1:59Speaker 2: for everyone to listen to this show in just a moment.
- 2:03Speaker 2: But I've also got to say a quick thank you
- 2:05Speaker 2: to producer Kylie for producing this episode and keeping the
- 2:08Speaker 2: scores for us. Thank you to her sister Shiloh for
- 2:11Speaker 2: helping us out with... the aforementioned second round that you
- 2:14Speaker 2: definitely have to check out on video. And thank you
- 2:17Speaker 2: to producer Bambi for helping us out in the booth.
- 2:20Speaker 2: The sound system was out at the Peak Improv Theatre
- 2:23Speaker 2: on this particular night. Our wonderful crowd very much made
- 2:27Speaker 2: up for it in terms of energy. And I think
- 2:30Speaker 2: Julia sang her own entrance theme. But thank you to
- 2:33Speaker 2: Bambi for still doing everything with the lights and the screen,
- 2:36Speaker 2: even if there was no sound to be had. The
- 2:39Speaker 2: Peak Improv Theatre is proudly independent, so these things will happen.
- 2:43Speaker 2: We are a comedy collective, a comedy community. Everything is DIY.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It is incredibly punk. So sometimes the sound system might
- 2:51Speaker 2: go out, but everyone is still going to rally together
- 2:54Speaker 2: to put on an amazing show, and I love that
- 2:57Speaker 2: about this community and everyone who makes it happen. A
- 3:01Speaker 2: last quick plug for our final live show of the
- 3:04Speaker 2: year that is happening on December 11th. Get your tickets
- 3:07Speaker 2: at peakimprov.com or the link in the show notes. This
- 3:11Speaker 2: will be a holiday movie-themed fandemonium. And I can reveal
- 3:16Speaker 2: that Santa himself will be on this panel.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's right.
- 3:20Speaker 2: The Santa will be on the panel for this fandemonium.
- 3:25Speaker 2: It's going to be wild. And I think I've convinced
- 3:27Speaker 2: producer Chris to bring out the old piano. Sorry, keyboard
- 3:32Speaker 2: for a little Christmas sing-song that we can all have
- 3:34Speaker 2: during one of the games.
- 3:36Speaker 3: So.
- 3:37Speaker 2: So much to look forward to with that live show.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I think it's going to be our best of the year.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It is on December 11th. Come and celebrate with us.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Tickets are just $ 10. Peakimprov.com. Love to see you there.
- 3:49Speaker 2: All right, without any further ado, please enjoy this Hunger
- 3:53Speaker 2: Games fandomonium. Hello and welcome to Fandomonium, the pop culture
- 4:23Speaker 2: game show that shines a spotlight onto everyone's favorite fandoms.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I'm your games master and orchestrator of a deadly game show,
- 4:31Speaker 2: Matt Watson. The deadly part is news to the players.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And speaking of the players, a games master needs games,
- 4:38Speaker 2: and games need players, so please welcome first. She is
- 4:41Speaker 2: an improviser, comedy educator, stick horse, and toon titan. I
- 4:45Speaker 2: respect her too much to call her a girl, so
- 4:48Speaker 2: please give it up for the pit's woman on fire,
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's Julia Bosie!
- 4:52Speaker 1: Can you take my piss? You can't take my history.
- 4:59Speaker 3: You can't.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Take my part, because his name's in history.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yes, Julia.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Music!
- 5:08Speaker 1: Making up for the lack of a sound system, I
- 5:11Speaker 1: love it.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And joining Julia tonight, he is a stand-up comedian, content creator,
- 5:15Speaker 2: and booktuber. If you don't know what a booktuber is,
- 5:18Speaker 2: it's like book talk, but for people with an attention span.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Put your hands together for James Tullo!
- 5:24Speaker 4: Woo!
- 5:27Speaker 1: Was I.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Supposed to come up with a dance?
- 5:34Speaker 1: You can if you want to.
- 5:35Speaker 6: I had no dance. Just a song.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Julia, I love that you had a song for us.
- 5:42Speaker 1: How are you doing this evening?
- 5:43Speaker 7: I'm so excited. I told you that if you didn't
- 5:46Speaker 7: let me do this one, I would cry.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That you did.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And I think that was at the meeting back in
- 5:51Speaker 1: January as well.
- 5:52Speaker 6: It was.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Well, here we are, hopefully no tears tonight. James, how
- 5:58Speaker 1: are you doing?
- 5:58Speaker 8: I am actually very sleepy because it's 9 o'clock and
- 6:02Speaker 8: I'm an old man.
- 6:03Speaker 1: That is so true. I feel it. I feel like
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm guessing we're both in our 30s.
- 6:08Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:10Speaker 2: It's time for sleep in bed for us. But thank
- 6:13Speaker 2: you so much for joining us. I mean, we already
- 6:16Speaker 2: know how Julia feels about this. James, are you a
- 6:18Speaker 2: fan of The Hunger Games?
- 6:20Speaker 6: I am, yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 8: I read all of them when I was younger and
- 6:22Speaker 8: I thought, yeah, these are great. Child murder's fun.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That is the main theme of the series. Absolutely.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And Julia, if we can dig into your fandom just
- 6:33Speaker 2: a touch more beyond you will cry if you're not involved.
- 6:37Speaker 1: How much do you love The Hunger Games?
- 6:38Speaker 6: I really love it.
- 6:40Speaker 7: Um.
- 6:43Speaker 7: Uh, it's, it's one of those things where you read
- 6:47Speaker 7: something that you read when you were a child and
- 6:50Speaker 7: you're like, I hope this still is good.
- 6:52Speaker 10: And it, it is, it's entertaining. It's moving.
- 6:56Speaker 7: It's like something to take away, you know, uh, and
- 7:01Speaker 7: reflect on the current times and the relevance. So it helps,
- 7:07Speaker 7: you know, it's like when you watch fallout and you're like.
- 7:10Speaker 10: Close to home.
- 7:12Speaker 6: It's one of those.
- 7:13Speaker 10: It's one of those.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of those.
- 7:15Speaker 7: And I even watched the Battle Royale movie, the Japanese
- 7:19Speaker 7: movie that they say inspired this, although I don't know
- 7:23Speaker 7: that it did. Because I doubt that Suzanne Collins actually
- 7:28Speaker 7: watched that or read it.
- 7:29Speaker 1: It was a book as well. She might be a weeb.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You don't know.
- 7:31Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 7:34Speaker 10: Me and Suzanne Collins are both weebs.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:37Speaker 10: Incredible.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Okay, so we know you're both fans of The Hunger Games.
- 7:42Speaker 2: James, do you have a favorite moment or character, something
- 7:45Speaker 2: from The Hunger Games that inspires you? So it's not
- 7:48Speaker 2: one specific moment, but it's really just that when people
- 7:53Speaker 2: are bad in The Hunger Games, they just die. There's
- 7:59Speaker 2: not a whole lot of bellyaching about how do we
- 8:01Speaker 2: deal with this.
- 8:01Speaker 6: They kind of just kill them.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yep.
- 8:06Speaker 11: Yep.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I suppose you did say at the start you were
- 8:08Speaker 1: a fan of child murder.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 8:11Speaker 1: So it does make sense that those moments, yeah, I
- 8:13Speaker 1: get what you're saying.
- 8:14Speaker 6: Okay, it's not just, okay.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Bad adults die too. That's true. That's true.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Bad adults die as well. It's not like there's not
- 8:21Speaker 2: so much fanfare around it. It's just, oh, you're a
- 8:22Speaker 2: bad person, dead.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:24Speaker 8: Yeah, there's a scene at the end where Donald Sutherland
- 8:27Speaker 8: gets beaten to death by an angry mob.
- 8:28Speaker 6: Torn apart.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yes, exactly.
- 8:31Speaker 8: And you would think you'd be like, oh, old man dying,
- 8:34Speaker 8: that's sad. But no, it's not sad. It's just kind
- 8:36Speaker 8: of what happens.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And he's laughing.
- 8:38Speaker 10: He's having a great time.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Me too.
- 8:40Speaker 1: There is some catharsis to it, yes.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It's like, we see the things in the Hunger Games
- 8:45Speaker 2: that we don't get in our real reality.
- 8:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 6: That is true.
- 8:49Speaker 1: A guy named Donald being torn apart. Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I don't know what the full political
- 8:54Speaker 2: affiliations of the crowd is, but that would be fun
- 8:58Speaker 2: to see.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Don't call ICE.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Piss hog, watch yourself.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Piss hog.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yep, nope. It's not a piss hog kind of nightmare,
- 9:09Speaker 2: I don't think. Julia, what about yourself? Do you have
- 9:14Speaker 2: a favorite moment or theme or thing from the Hunger Games?
- 9:20Speaker 10: This isn't the muse.
- 9:21Speaker 1: You're just asking if I have a favorite thing. There's
- 9:23Speaker 1: no muses tonight.
- 9:24Speaker 12: There's no muses tonight?
- 9:24Speaker 1: No, so this can be your muse.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Okay, so I.
- 9:29Speaker 7: Because Suzanne Collins does write screenplays, and her books are
- 9:35Speaker 7: thought out, and a lot of the dialogue in the
- 9:38Speaker 7: movies is from the book because it's well-written, but the
- 9:42Speaker 7: adaptation of the Songbirds... Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Ballad
- 9:47Speaker 7: of Songbirds and Snakes, yeah, is so wild because, honestly,
- 9:51Speaker 7: the book is just telling you how shit of a
- 9:56Speaker 7: person Snow is, even.
- 9:58Speaker 10: Like though it's like.
- 10:00Speaker 7: semi like oh think about how he's feeling but she's
- 10:02Speaker 7: like no he feels he's.
- 10:04Speaker 1: A bad man.
- 10:04Speaker 6: He was always bad.
- 10:06Speaker 1: He's just bad.
- 10:08Speaker 7: And then the movie doesn't get into that at fucking
- 10:11Speaker 7: all really or at least not until the end.
- 10:14Speaker 10: It's so annoying.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Is it because they felt like they needed a protagonist?
- 10:17Speaker 10: I don't know. I don't know.
- 10:21Speaker 12: Is there a cat?
- 10:22Speaker 10: Do you need something?
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's a mouse.
- 10:24Speaker 5: We're trying to get rid of the mouse.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Well, then we get a cat. That's what cats are for.
- 10:31Speaker 10: Oh, you mean a computer mouse.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Oh god julia i think you were making an excellent
- 10:36Speaker 2: point but we all both everyone on stage and the
- 10:39Speaker 2: audience does not have enough of an attention span to
- 10:41Speaker 2: pick up on what you were just saying so i'm.
- 10:43Speaker 10: Gonna say thanks robbie thanks kyle are.
- 10:46Speaker 4: You talking about mice no this is.
- 10:50Speaker 7: Back like when i was doing oh what was it
- 10:53Speaker 7: the witcher and i was talking about the rats.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Oh yeah deep cut deep cut always good to reference
- 11:00Speaker 1: the previous episodes of this podcast um.
- 11:03Speaker 2: All right we'll give it up for the team over
- 11:05Speaker 2: here make some noise for them They will need some opponents, though,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and I do hope one of them brings out my
- 11:11Speaker 2: sparkly jacket, because otherwise, why did I even bring it?
- 11:15Speaker 1: It is a rival duo to take on the arena.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Let's meet them. He is an improviser, a musician. Yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 1: do you know what? Do you know what?
- 11:23Speaker 2: Autocorrect changed it to imposter. Imagine if I had just
- 11:25Speaker 2: said imposter there.
- 11:27Speaker 1: He is an imposter.
- 11:28Speaker 2: He is an improviser, musician, and you just saw him
- 11:31Speaker 2: in Felty and Friends. Well, more heard him because he
- 11:33Speaker 2: was puppeteering. But here at Fandemonium, we have the stones
- 11:37Speaker 2: to show.
- 11:37Speaker 1: His hideous, hideous face. Make some noise for Ian Blass!
- 11:42Speaker 7: Oh, wait, no, I actually have a moment. It's when
- 11:46Speaker 7: they show Eda.
- 11:47Speaker 5: This is my moment!
- 11:48Speaker 1: This is Ian's entrance!
- 11:49Speaker 5: This is my moment!
- 11:50Speaker 1: Give it up for Ian!
- 11:52Speaker 11: Woo!
- 11:54Speaker 5: My moment now.
- 11:56Speaker 2: And she is our resident panelist, a podcaster and comedian
- 11:59Speaker 2: who works in STEM, which today stands for Silence That
- 12:03Speaker 2: Egregious Mockingjay.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Go wild for Audra Stevenson!
- 12:13Speaker 3: Woo!
- 12:13Speaker 8: Jacket.
- 12:14Speaker 3: We were wondering if you left it on purpose.
- 12:19Speaker 2: What other occasion am I going to use this sparkly
- 12:22Speaker 2: jacket for other than to be.
- 12:23Speaker 7: When you want to be a winter fae prince.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Oh, that's, okay, yep.
- 12:29Speaker 10: Whenever you finally do Akatar.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Okay, there's actually lots of reasons I should be wearing
- 12:34Speaker 2: this more often.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Wear it all the time.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Give it up for Audra dressed as Katniss as well.
- 12:43Speaker 5: So realistic with the scars.
- 12:45Speaker 1: So realistic. Welcome, Ian. Welcome, Audra. How are you both doing?
- 12:49Speaker 10: I'm doing great.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Doing fantastic also.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Nice. A lot less tired on this team.
- 12:54Speaker 10: I love it.
- 12:55Speaker 5: Yeah, we're not tired at all over here.
- 12:56Speaker 1: We're ready to go.
- 12:57Speaker 12: We're really awake, and we're really awake.
- 13:01Speaker 5: And awake.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Fantastic. Okay, Ian, we will start with you. Are you
- 13:05Speaker 1: a fan of The Hunger Games? For sure.
- 13:07Speaker 5: I watched them all a long time ago, and I recently,
- 13:10Speaker 5: as of last week, watched all four of the movies.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I didn't watch the prequels. Oh. I didn't get to it,
- 13:16Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 13:17Speaker 11: I know.
- 13:19Speaker 1: One of them's not out yet, so you're forgiven for
- 13:21Speaker 1: that one.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, just the one, yeah.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, just the one.
- 13:23Speaker 5: I knew that one wasn't out.
- 13:24Speaker 6: But the book was out.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But you got the core trilogy. I think you'll do great.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I think you'll be fine.
- 13:29Speaker 5: I'm solid, yeah.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And Audra, are you a fan of the Hunker games?
- 13:32Speaker 12: Katniss Everdeen raised me.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Mother!
- 13:37Speaker 12: More than my own mother.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Katniss Everdeen was there for me. No, I love these
- 13:46Speaker 3: books so much. Read them several times growing up.
- 13:51Speaker 12: I only got to.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Rewatch one of the movies before this, but oh boy,
- 13:56Speaker 3: I will be rewatching the rest.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Nice.
- 14:00Speaker 10: Invite me.
- 14:02Speaker 6: I dare you.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Okay, actually, if you could increase the animosity between each other,
- 14:07Speaker 2: it would really help for the flow of the show.
- 14:08Speaker 7: I can't tell if I'm the Queen of Hearts or that, like,
- 14:12Speaker 7: clown guy from Hunter X Hunter.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Or.
- 14:16Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 14:18Speaker 7: But I was trying to look like Effie Trinket, who
- 14:22Speaker 7: is friends with Katniss, if you.
- 14:23Speaker 10: Think about it.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're both pedophiles, so it works.
- 14:27Speaker 6: Effie Trinket would never.
- 14:29Speaker 3: What?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Hey, everyone, give it up for Producer Bambi in the booth.
- 14:36Speaker 2: And give it up for Producer Kylie, who'll be keeping
- 14:38Speaker 2: scores tonight.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Thank you, Kylie. Thank you very much. Oh, fantastic.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Okay, all I can think about is which Hunger Games
- 14:45Speaker 2: characters are pedophiles now.
- 14:47Speaker 1: All of the people in the capital. Sure. What about
- 14:50Speaker 1: the Hunger Games? Yeah, that's true.
- 14:53Speaker 9: Sure.
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm just going to move on and ask Audra. Do
- 14:56Speaker 1: you have a favorite moment or theme or character from
- 14:59Speaker 1: the Hunger Games?
- 15:00Speaker 3: I think my favorite thing is that Hamish has a
- 15:03Speaker 3: weird foot thing.
- 15:05Speaker 10: Wait, tell me.
- 15:06Speaker 12: No, I just, I don't know what it is. So
- 15:09Speaker 12: this is first movie. Movie one.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Peeta tries to grab Hamish's, they're on the train. The
- 15:17Speaker 3: first time, Peeta grabs the vodka from Hamish and Hamish
- 15:21Speaker 3: pushes him back into the chair barefoot.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah, crazy.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Barefoot and it's just there for the rest of the scene.
- 15:31Speaker 3: They're like, what's the strategy going into this? And he's like,
- 15:34Speaker 3: you're never gonna survive.
- 15:37Speaker 12: He's just patting his foot on it.
- 15:40Speaker 1: It's weird.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I love that for young adult literature, it has quite
- 15:45Speaker 2: a lot of deep themes, a critique of capitalism, analyzing
- 15:48Speaker 2: a lot of American society, and Audra's favorite thing from
- 15:51Speaker 2: it is the foot thing.
- 15:54Speaker 12: It's just strange.
- 15:56Speaker 10: It's a choice.
- 15:57Speaker 1: It's a choice. It's a choice. To say it on stage,
- 16:00Speaker 1: it was. Thank you so much, Aldra. Ian, what about yourself?
- 16:05Speaker 1: Do you have a favorite thing from The Hunger Games?
- 16:08Speaker 5: So there was one moment from the first movie that
- 16:10Speaker 5: I started laughing so hard. Because President Snow is talking
- 16:15Speaker 5: to Seneca after the whole debacle.
- 16:19Speaker 10: With the berries?
- 16:20Speaker 5: With the berries, yeah. They're in the green room or
- 16:22Speaker 5: the greenhouse or whatever. And President Snow, he turns to
- 16:26Speaker 5: Seneca and he goes, I like you. And there was
- 16:28Speaker 5: like a pause. In that pause, I started laughing so hard.
- 16:33Speaker 5: I like you. And then he says something like prophetic
- 16:35Speaker 5: about how like you have to instill fear because fear
- 16:38Speaker 5: is more powerful than hope.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Or no, no, no.
- 16:40Speaker 5: The other way around, yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 1: The meaningful stuff doesn't matter. It's the hilarious poses.
- 16:45Speaker 5: You can't let these people get too hopeful, so you
- 16:47Speaker 5: have to scare them really bad. But he does, he goes,
- 16:49Speaker 5: I like you. I mean, yeah. I just started laughing
- 16:53Speaker 5: so hard.
- 16:53Speaker 8: That is one of the most terrifying things your boss
- 16:56Speaker 8: can tell you.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:58Speaker 6: I like you. Am I like my boss?
- 17:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's how you know that your boss is going
- 17:02Speaker 5: to kill you in the next week.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Honestly, it's a risk.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 12: It's a risk.
- 17:09Speaker 10: And then my favorite thing.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Julia, you don't have time.
- 17:12Speaker 5: Yeah, it's your time now.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Okay, teams, you've arrived at the Capitol ready to participate
- 17:17Speaker 2: in violence. Where were you all on January 6th? But
- 17:23Speaker 2: despite your glamorous outfits, your branding is all over the place.
- 17:27Speaker 2: So I'd like each pair to come up with a
- 17:28Speaker 2: Hunger Games themed team name, please. Let's start with Julia
- 17:32Speaker 2: and James.
- 17:32Speaker 1: What you got?
- 17:33Speaker 13: Okay.
- 17:35Speaker 10: Did you have any or were you hoping I would?
- 17:37Speaker 6: I was hoping you would.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Okay.
- 17:39Speaker 10: I have some.
- 17:40Speaker 6: I see a whole list there. Let's go through it.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Okay, so the one Hunger James was, you know, because
- 17:49Speaker 7: you're James, and my name starts with a J.
- 17:51Speaker 11: Yep.
- 17:52Speaker 8: Oh, wait, how about Mocking Jays?
- 17:56Speaker 10: Oh, that's really freaking good. Can I say my bad one?
- 17:59Speaker 7: Okay, so I have cat piss ever peen. Instead of
- 18:08Speaker 7: the seam where all the poor people in district two,
- 18:14Speaker 7: the peen. Mocking UK, because piss hog is from the UK.
- 18:21Speaker 6: And then effemt.
- 18:22Speaker 1: We're not gonna explain the nickname, I guess?
- 18:24Speaker 13: Okay.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Effemt.
- 18:25Speaker 10: F-em trinket.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Oh, that's good. I do like that one.
- 18:28Speaker 7: No, I really think that the Mockingjays is actually the best,
- 18:31Speaker 7: and this is usually how this goes.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Julia correctly thinking the next thing I would say, the Mockingjays.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Give it up for the Mockingjays. Let's find out who
- 18:43Speaker 1: they'll be facing. Audra, Ian, any ideas?
- 18:46Speaker 12: I had a couple.
- 18:47Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 13: I have one.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 18:52Speaker 12: I don't know what order to go in.
- 18:53Speaker 5: You go first.
- 18:54Speaker 7: Okay.
- 18:55Speaker 12: The two that I have is District 69.
- 18:57Speaker 6: Oh, the weed number.
- 19:00Speaker 5: It's the weed number.
- 19:01Speaker 10: Nice.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Incredible.
- 19:05Speaker 12: We are with it.
- 19:07Speaker 3: And then the other one, because this is after Felty,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and you're in Felty, and a common word that.
- 19:13Speaker 12: Is used in Felty is peener.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we say that a lot.
- 19:16Speaker 12: So, Piener Malark.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Oh, that's good. Piener Malark, I like that one.
- 19:22Speaker 12: Those are my two.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Okay, mine was, this is, take down the Plutriarchy. The Plutriarchy.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I see what you're doing.
- 19:33Speaker 5: The Plutarch?
- 19:34Speaker 1: I see the needle you're tying to thread. The Plutriarchy.
- 19:37Speaker 10: The Plutarch is good. on the side of the.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Also, there's a real word. It's plutocracy.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 6: That's the word you want to use.
- 19:47Speaker 1: No.
- 19:47Speaker 12: That's a real thing.
- 19:48Speaker 3: No.
- 19:50Speaker 1: No.
- 19:51Speaker 12: No. I think we know what we mean.
- 19:54Speaker 6: We're thinking about Pluto Nash here. Yeah, so we're... No,
- 19:56Speaker 6: we're not.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Put stuff.
- 19:58Speaker 6: No one's thinking about Pluto Nash.
- 19:59Speaker 5: The haymaker. I like Peaner Malark.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Piena Malark?
- 20:03Speaker 5: Piena Malark?
- 20:04Speaker 8: Yes!
- 20:05Speaker 3: All right!
- 20:05Speaker 12: How many times can we say Piena Malark?
- 20:07Speaker 7: Piena!
- 20:08Speaker 1: Give it up for Piena Malark!
- 20:13Speaker 2: Fantastic, we've got the Mockingjays versus Piena Malark. It's the
- 20:17Speaker 2: classic battle. All right, before we get rolling with the games,
- 20:23Speaker 2: I'd like to remind our teams what they're playing for tonight.
- 20:26Speaker 2: It is indeed the Mystery Prize!
- 20:29Speaker 1: That is the correct response. No, you can say it, Matt,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you can do it.
- 20:34Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Nice. What could it be? No expenses being spared, quite literally.
- 20:41Speaker 10: I can't see.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Okay, team, should we do this? Should we play some games?
- 20:47Speaker 5: I guess so.
- 20:47Speaker 7: My favorite thing was when Pluto, I don't know.
- 20:51Speaker 10: PETA was dressed up or like painted himself like a rock.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Give it up for Julia's thing. Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Honestly, really impressive, though.
- 21:02Speaker 10: I just needed to bring it back to the game.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Okay, teams, may the odds be ever in your favor
- 21:07Speaker 2: as we slay in round one.
- 21:09Speaker 3: I'll add.
- 21:12Speaker 1: The jingle in post. Is there a red light? I
- 21:17Speaker 1: think Kylie already checked it. I think it's good.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Yeah. It's on, baby.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And if it's not, this one's just for us and audio,
- 21:24Speaker 1: I guess. Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Yeah. Audio.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Audio. Audio. Audio.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I don't have time to get into this, but if
- 21:35Speaker 2: only the rest of the world currently was thinking like that.
- 21:37Speaker 5: How many audio files are in The Hunger Games?
- 21:41Speaker 2: That is a good joke, and no one laughed at
- 21:43Speaker 2: that as much as they should have done. It's disgusting what.
- 21:46Speaker 1: They do to sound.
- 21:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's bad.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Round one is called Pitch and Switch.
- 21:51Speaker 2: It's the elevator pitch game where I will play the
- 21:53Speaker 2: role of a book publisher, ready to greenlight the next
- 21:57Speaker 2: novel in the Hunger Games franchise. In recent years, Suzanne
- 22:00Speaker 2: Collins has begun writing spin-off stories for some of the characters.
- 22:04Speaker 2: In just a moment, I'm going to ask our wonderful
- 22:06Speaker 2: Peak Improv audience to shout out the name of a
- 22:09Speaker 2: Hunger Games story that doesn't exist yet. You know the
- 22:12Speaker 2: kind of thing that it is. Yeah, Ballad of Songbirds
- 22:16Speaker 2: and Snakes, Catching Fire, Mockingjay, dystopian fantasy sounding things. Once
- 22:23Speaker 2: they have their title, each team will begin a two
- 22:25Speaker 2: minute elevator pitch selling us on why this story should
- 22:29Speaker 2: be published. But when I yell switch, The player who
- 22:33Speaker 2: isn't pitching must pick up exactly where their teammate left off,
- 22:37Speaker 2: hopefully creating a chaotically beautiful yet marketable idea. Points out
- 22:42Speaker 2: of five for your pitch with a bonus point to
- 22:44Speaker 2: whoever the audience prefers.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Do we understand the game?
- 22:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I think so.
- 22:48Speaker 1: All right, we are gonna start, it's funny that you
- 22:50Speaker 1: should think so, James. We're gonna start with the Mockingjays.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Yes, I have to look.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Okay, so wonderful peak improv audience, we need the title
- 23:00Speaker 2: of a Hunger Games book that doesn't exist yet.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Okay, Robbie, what was that? The Spreading Itch?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Okay, the title of your Hunger Games book is The
- 23:12Speaker 2: Spreading Itch. Just like Suzanne would write.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Julia, would you like to start?
- 23:17Speaker 10: Yeah, I would.
- 23:17Speaker 3: All right.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Your time starts now.
- 23:20Speaker 7: Okay, so we start with Haymitch when he's a grown man.
- 23:24Speaker 7: And he's been at the hob drinking too much white liquor.
- 23:29Speaker 7: And Greasy say, she's like, hey, I've got something special
- 23:33Speaker 7: coming in from District 3.
- 23:35Speaker 10: And he's like, switch.
- 23:37Speaker 8: Okay, so he brings in something special from District 3.
- 23:41Speaker 8: and it turns out it's just the world's most powerful vibrator.
- 23:46Speaker 8: It's strong enough that it can shatter concrete on the
- 23:49Speaker 8: highest setting, so you don't wanna use it too long.
- 23:55Speaker 7: But the best part of it is that it's used. So,
- 24:00Speaker 7: one day after hammering it out, he realizes....
- 24:05Speaker 8: He realizes that in the second movie, when they bring
- 24:08Speaker 8: back all the previous champions from the old Hunger Games,
- 24:12Speaker 8: he realizes one of them was actually played by Alan Richson,
- 24:15Speaker 8: who is the.
- 24:15Speaker 6: Same guy- Switch!
- 24:16Speaker 7: Who gave him the itch. And now he's got it
- 24:20Speaker 7: again from the vibrator. And all he can do is
- 24:24Speaker 7: just- Switch!
- 24:26Speaker 8: He can just keep quoting that episode of Blue Mountain
- 24:29Speaker 8: State where Alan Richson loses his pocket pussy and he's
- 24:33Speaker 8: like really upset about it.
- 24:35Speaker 13: Switch!
- 24:37Speaker 7: And then they kiss to finally make the itch go
- 24:39Speaker 7: away and they just keep scratching and scratching.
- 24:42Speaker 6: For the whole book.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Switch!
- 24:44Speaker 8: But eventually they realize that they can't just scratch, they
- 24:47Speaker 8: have to Switch!
- 24:49Speaker 7: Lube with aloe vera because it has nice healing properties.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Switch!
- 24:56Speaker 8: But the healing properties are only temporary. They have to
- 24:58Speaker 8: go to the top of a special mountain in order
- 25:02Speaker 8: to get.
- 25:03Speaker 7: The special flower that erases all itch from any human body.
- 25:09Speaker 13: Switch!
- 25:10Speaker 6: But then they eat the flower.
- 25:11Speaker 9: Switch!
- 25:12Speaker 6: It turns out that they were Switch! Turning into Black Panther.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Switch!
- 25:17Speaker 10: Who was actually there to just hang out.
- 25:20Speaker 1: That's your time!
- 25:24Speaker 11: Amazing.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly how I expected that to go from
- 25:30Speaker 1: the title.
- 25:31Speaker 10: I was like, oh, I don't know who that is.
- 25:33Speaker 10: And then you said Blue Mountain State, and I was like,
- 25:35Speaker 10: I know him!
- 25:36Speaker 6: It's Bad Castle.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Yes!
- 25:39Speaker 2: Look, I think you made references to other properties that
- 25:42Speaker 2: I may or may not be familiar with, but reference
- 25:45Speaker 2: culture is all everything is now. And you also mentioned
- 25:47Speaker 2: going to the top of a mountain to get a flower.
- 25:49Speaker 2: That feels very this genre. I'm going to give you
- 25:52Speaker 2: four out of five points for that.
- 25:53Speaker 13: Yay!
- 25:54Speaker 6: Nice.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And we'll see if you get the bonus point from
- 25:57Speaker 2: the audience after we hear a pitch from Pina Malark.
- 26:04Speaker 1: It's a funny name.
- 26:06Speaker 5: Come on, laugh.
- 26:09Speaker 12: It makes me feel strong.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Like you could lift big bags of flour?
- 26:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Alright let's get the title of another Hunger Games book
- 26:21Speaker 2: that does not exist yet.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Wait what was this over here.
- 26:29Speaker 2: We just the last one got a little burning urges
- 26:31Speaker 2: keep going say that again sorry.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I love it.
- 26:41Speaker 2: It still brings foot stuff into it, so that's great.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Verse of the crooked toe.
- 26:46Speaker 6: I love it.
- 26:47Speaker 7: I can see Suzanne doing that.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Audra, are you going to start us off?
- 26:52Speaker 12: Yes.
- 26:53Speaker 1: You got it.
- 26:55Speaker 12: I was just trying to vibe in the space.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:58Speaker 12: All right, you ready? Yes.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Take it away.
- 27:03Speaker 12: We open on a field, and we see feet running
- 27:06Speaker 12: through the grass.
- 27:08Speaker 3: One of the toes... is broken, how did it happen?
- 27:12Speaker 3: We wonder as we watch this person run and then
- 27:16Speaker 3: a whoosh.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Whoosh, it whooshes up to the person's face and it's Haymitch,
- 27:21Speaker 5: none other than Haymitch. I mean, he likes putting his
- 27:25Speaker 5: feet everywhere and he's always barefoot and so we're like, okay.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Switch!
- 27:30Speaker 3: Okay, I wonder how this guy that we know and
- 27:35Speaker 3: love got his toe broken. Cuts back to Hamish's big house.
- 27:43Speaker 13: Switch!
- 27:44Speaker 5: Where he's off to go to the Hunger Games that
- 27:47Speaker 5: he was in. And as they were pulling him from
- 27:52Speaker 5: the house because he didn't want to go, he was like, no,
- 27:54Speaker 5: don't take me.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Switch!
- 27:56Speaker 12: And we see his feet. This is so many years earlier.
- 27:58Speaker 12: The toe is not broken.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 28:02Speaker 12: And we're thinking, oh my god, it happens in the games.
- 28:06Speaker 12: This is gonna be the worst thing that happens.
- 28:08Speaker 8: Switch!
- 28:09Speaker 5: So he goes to the games and he actually wins
- 28:12Speaker 5: because his feet are so strong. He doesn't use any weapons,
- 28:16Speaker 5: he just runs really fast.
- 28:17Speaker 3: He just runs so fast and he just kicks people
- 28:20Speaker 3: so hard.
- 28:22Speaker 12: But the last person that he kicks.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Switch!
- 28:25Speaker 5: Doesn't die with one kick. Just with one kick. He
- 28:28Speaker 5: has to kick him twice. Because he was really, really strong.
- 28:32Speaker 8: Switch!
- 28:33Speaker 3: And he was so strong that on the first kick,
- 28:35Speaker 3: he broke his toe.
- 28:37Speaker 12: But he had to push.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Switch!
- 28:40Speaker 5: The pain and kill him and then when after he
- 28:44Speaker 5: won the hunger games and all that happened president.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Switch was like you better not fix that foot it's.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Going switch it's gonna make me like you.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And it's important that i like you um for the
- 29:01Speaker 3: future of panette.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Managing to incorporate both of your favorite moments.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Very good.
- 29:11Speaker 10: I really wish that's how the Hamish book went.
- 29:14Speaker 1: It'd be a lot more fun.
- 29:17Speaker 3: It was mostly fun, and him breaking his foot is
- 29:20Speaker 3: the worst thing that happened.
- 29:21Speaker 7: I mean, he's basically Rock Lee from Naruto.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 8: Earlier, you mentioned that there were a lot of pedophiles
- 29:28Speaker 8: in the Hunger Games, and we need to keep a
- 29:29Speaker 8: running tally.
- 29:31Speaker 1: That's true. I think it was you who mentioned that, James.
- 29:34Speaker 6: It was somebody. I don't remember.
- 29:36Speaker 5: How many audio files are there?
- 29:39Speaker 1: I love that.
- 29:40Speaker 2: The time hopping felt very YA fiction. Just like confused me,
- 29:44Speaker 2: put me in a different time instead of good writing.
- 29:47Speaker 10: The toe's broken and now it's not.
- 29:50Speaker 11: What happened?
- 29:52Speaker 2: So I'm gonna, I think I'm also gonna give you
- 29:54Speaker 2: four out of five points. Yeah, which means I'm gonna
- 29:58Speaker 2: have the audience decide ultimately who is the winner of
- 30:01Speaker 2: round one with both teams scoring four. If you preferred
- 30:04Speaker 2: the pitch from the Mocking Jays, make some noise now.
- 30:09Speaker 2: And if you preferred the pitch from Pina Malark, make
- 30:11Speaker 2: some noise now. This side of the room has their team.
- 30:18Speaker 2: That's going to be a bonus point to Pina Malark.
- 30:21Speaker 3: This audience is into foot stuff.
- 30:25Speaker 7: And they're not into male-loving male relationships.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 30:32Speaker 5: They just don't like vibrate.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Okay, that is the.
- 30:34Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm looking directly at you.
- 30:36Speaker 6: It's working out for me.
- 30:41Speaker 1: That is the end of round one.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Producer Kylie, like the death toll, could you please project
- 30:46Speaker 2: the scores into the sky for us all to see?
- 30:50Speaker 10: Cannonball.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Keener Millard has a grand total of five.
- 31:03Speaker 1: It's exactly what we thought it was. There's everything to
- 31:06Speaker 1: play for, but only one team can survive. Let's see
- 31:09Speaker 1: how things fare in day two. I mean, round two.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Thank you for adding the jingle. I might not have
- 31:17Speaker 1: to add it in post now.
- 31:19Speaker 6: You definitely will.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So round two is a game I like to call
- 31:30Speaker 1: How Did This Child Die? It's popular at Christmas. And
- 31:36Speaker 1: for this game.
- 31:36Speaker 6: I think it got crucified.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Good point.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I so badly want to give you a bonus point
- 31:43Speaker 2: for that. I'm not going to.
- 31:46Speaker 7: I referenced Greasy Sal in my thing.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You did.
- 31:51Speaker 10: Say, Greasy Say. Greasy Say is her name and I
- 31:55Speaker 10: said it right the first time.
- 31:58Speaker 2: So for this game, we're going to need the help
- 32:00Speaker 2: of someone. I don't know if anyone would be willing
- 32:02Speaker 2: to volunteer as tribute.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh my goodness! It's Shiloh Walden from Alphabet Soup. Give
- 32:08Speaker 1: it up for Shiloh!
- 32:11Speaker 5: I know her.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Fantastic. Shiloh, are you good to help us out with
- 32:20Speaker 2: the game here?
- 32:21Speaker 1: Oh, thank you so much.
- 32:22Speaker 2: So, In this game, one team will close their eyes
- 32:27Speaker 2: as Shiloh and the rest of us see how a
- 32:29Speaker 2: specific character died in the Hunger Games.
- 32:32Speaker 1: We will see it on the screen.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Shiloh will then mime, using some light gibberish, the death
- 32:38Speaker 2: for the team to see. They score points if they
- 32:41Speaker 2: can accurately guess the death, with a bonus point if
- 32:44Speaker 2: they can name the Hunger Games character who died that way.
- 32:51Speaker 7: These are real, this isn't like that time with Twilight
- 32:54Speaker 7: where you gave fake powers.
- 32:56Speaker 2: No, some feedback I got from the audience was more
- 32:59Speaker 2: things related to the.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Fandom, please.
- 33:03Speaker 2: So, we are going to begin with Julia and James guessing.
- 33:07Speaker 2: So Julia and James, could you please close your eyes,
- 33:09Speaker 2: bow your heads, just look away from the screen.
- 33:11Speaker 10: I'll just put this furry thing in front of me.
- 33:13Speaker 2: And then Bambi, if we can get the first prompt
- 33:15Speaker 2: on there, please, for Shiloh to absorb that. Okay, Shiloh's ready. Okay,
- 33:25Speaker 2: you can open your eyes, uncover your eyes, all that
- 33:27Speaker 2: good stuff. And Shiloh, when you're ready, you can perform
- 33:31Speaker 2: it once towards the players and then once towards the
- 33:33Speaker 2: camera so you can see it twice.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:35Speaker 12: A lot of pressure to make it the same, okay.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Shiloh, it really doesn't have to be.
- 33:42Speaker 12: I respect you deeply.
- 33:49Speaker 5: Oh.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Oh no. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, I flipped.
- 34:00Speaker 12: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 6: I got it.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Okay, and I think, give it up for Shiloh, everyone.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Incredible.
- 34:06Speaker 2: And I think you played to both sides there as well,
- 34:08Speaker 2: and it sounds like our team might have a guess.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Do you have a guess of which death that is?
- 34:12Speaker 7: That's when the tracker jacker nest fell down on Glimmer
- 34:17Speaker 7: and killed her, and she got real big, and in
- 34:20Speaker 7: the books, Katniss had to, like, unclench her big ol'
- 34:24Speaker 7: hand from the bow to get those bow and arrows.
- 34:29Speaker 1: That is exactly right! Give it up for Julia!
- 34:33Speaker 12: Did you write about her big ol' hand on the screen?
- 34:37Speaker 1: I didn't, but the extra detail is great.
- 34:39Speaker 2: It's still just going to be one point for the
- 34:41Speaker 2: correct death, and one point for the character as well,
- 34:44Speaker 2: because I heard glimmer in there. Very good stuff, Julia.
- 34:48Speaker 1: James didn't even have to say anything. Sorry.
- 34:51Speaker 6: That's okay. I knew the death. I didn't remember her name, so.
- 34:53Speaker 1: It doesn't really matter.
- 34:54Speaker 6: She was blonde.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Okay, next up, witnessing the murder of a child is
- 35:02Speaker 2: Audra and Ian.
- 35:04Speaker 1: That's what the series is about, guys.
- 35:05Speaker 6: Get with it or get gone.
- 35:08Speaker 2: So let's bow your heads, cover your eyes, whatever feels correct,
- 35:12Speaker 2: and we'll see this up on the screen.
- 35:15Speaker 1: You got that one, Shiloh?
- 35:16Speaker 3: Oh!
- 35:17Speaker 1: Okay, Shiloh is ready. You can uncover your eyes and
- 35:22Speaker 1: give Shiloh a round of applause!
- 35:23Speaker 8: Shiloh! Woo!
- 35:33Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 6: Yes!
- 35:36Speaker 4: Incredible!
- 35:43Speaker 5: Magnificent!
- 35:45Speaker 2: Excellent stuff, Shiloh. Do we have a guest from Pina
- 35:49Speaker 2: over here? I'm just going to call you Pina at
- 35:50Speaker 2: this point.
- 35:50Speaker 5: I'm just calling us Pina. That was the berries. I
- 35:53Speaker 5: forget her name.
- 35:54Speaker 12: I think they just call her Fox Face the whole time.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I am going to need to hear a little more
- 35:59Speaker 1: than that was the berries.
- 36:00Speaker 12: That was the berries.
- 36:01Speaker 3: When PETA was like picking berries because he was going
- 36:03Speaker 3: to help feed them. But then Foxface was like, I'm
- 36:06Speaker 3: going to sneak up here and steal the berries from
- 36:09Speaker 3: you and eat them. because someone else is picking them,
- 36:12Speaker 3: so I am assuming they're safe, but they're not.
- 36:15Speaker 5: But then Katniss runs over and finds Peeta, and then
- 36:19Speaker 5: she's like, Peeta, don't eat those, those will kill you.
- 36:22Speaker 5: And he's like, I didn't know.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 36:24Speaker 5: I didn't even know she was following me.
- 36:26Speaker 3: And then they're like, wow, she's dead.
- 36:29Speaker 12: And then they decide to go to the cornucopia.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yep, this is exactly, okay, I can't stop you now.
- 36:34Speaker 1: You've covered a full page of the screenplay.
- 36:36Speaker 13: Nice, nice, nice.
- 36:37Speaker 1: That's gonna be two points, because I also heard fox face.
- 36:40Speaker 10: Fox face!
- 36:41Speaker 2: Good stuff, great teamwork, fantastic stuff. Okay, I forgot to
- 36:44Speaker 2: say that those two were both from the 74th Hunger Games,
- 36:47Speaker 2: the first film. These next two are from the 75th
- 36:50Speaker 2: Hunger Games, the second book, the second movie. So, James, Julia,
- 36:54Speaker 2: would you like to cover your eyes once more? Let's
- 36:56Speaker 2: see that next death.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Would I?
- 36:59Speaker 10: Don't tempt me with a good time.
- 37:02Speaker 1: You got that one, Shiloh?
- 37:05Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 37:05Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Okay. Prompt can be removed and eyes can be revealed.
- 37:11Speaker 2: And with a round of applause, take it away Shiloh.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah. Give it up for Shiloh everyone.
- 37:34Speaker 2: I'm going to come to James first on this one.
- 37:35Speaker 6: James, any ideas? I was going to be polite. God,
- 37:40Speaker 6: give me a chance. That one I am less sure of.
- 37:47Speaker 6: It appears that it.
- 37:48Speaker 8: Was raining blood on you, and then you ran into
- 37:52Speaker 8: the force field, I believe, but I don't remember which
- 37:55Speaker 8: character it was.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Blight.
- 37:57Speaker 9: Blight?
- 37:58Speaker 10: Or something like that.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Ooh, how long do I drag this out for? It's Blight!
- 38:03Speaker 1: Excellent stuff!
- 38:05Speaker 2: That's once again gonna be two points for accurately guessing
- 38:08Speaker 2: the murder and the character, fantastic stuff.
- 38:11Speaker 7: I have a feeling that you didn't even remember that,
- 38:14Speaker 7: but you just saw, you were like, it is raining blood,
- 38:18Speaker 7: and that was a force field that Shallow just ran into.
- 38:20Speaker 6: I said it, so it counts.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Fantastic stuff. Back on over to Pina. That is your name.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Let's have your eyes covered.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Yep. Ian was way ahead of you. And let's see
- 38:37Speaker 1: the next death on the screen. Shiloh, whenever you're ready.
- 38:50Speaker 1: You got that one, Shiloh. Okay, we can move to
- 38:53Speaker 1: the next now, Bambi, and uncover your eyes, Peenas.
- 38:57Speaker 12: It's so fun because you use the non-rhotic R.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Oh, like Peena?
- 39:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:04Speaker 12: And so it's especially fun when you say it.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:08Speaker 5: I was thinking that, yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 10: Basically, we just want to make Matt say stuff, and
- 39:11Speaker 10: we were nice.
- 39:13Speaker 1: It's the only reason I have a gig where I
- 39:14Speaker 1: can read off a laptop.
- 39:15Speaker 6: Okay.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Okay. Take it away, Shiloh. Round of applause.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Oh and.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Another child has died give.
- 39:30Speaker 5: It up for Shiloh okay any.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Guesses for what you saw.
- 39:36Speaker 12: There Um, some primates murdered a child.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Yeah, so how I remember this scene is, uh, there
- 40:00Speaker 5: were a bunch of, like, monkey monsters, and they started attacking, uh,
- 40:07Speaker 5: Finnick and Peeta and Katniss, and then, but this, like,
- 40:12Speaker 5: I forget what they're called, they, like, this, like, woman
- 40:15Speaker 5: that wasn't in the Hunger Games, I don't know if
- 40:17Speaker 5: she was, she, like, jumps out from the trees to, like,
- 40:20Speaker 5: To save PETA?
- 40:21Speaker 10: If I know who, if I know what they're referred to.
- 40:24Speaker 11: Mags?
- 40:24Speaker 10: No, it's not mags.
- 40:27Speaker 5: We'll get to the steel in a second.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:29Speaker 5: What are they called? They're not, they're not mutts.
- 40:34Speaker 2: I think I've heard enough where I'm happy with the
- 40:36Speaker 2: death description. Fatally mauled by a vicious pack of engineered
- 40:39Speaker 2: mutant monkeys. You said monster, not mutant, but that's the
- 40:41Speaker 2: same thing.
- 40:42Speaker 1: So that's going to definitely be.
- 40:43Speaker 2: A point for the correct death, but could you, can you,
- 40:46Speaker 2: and you're so accurately describing, can.
- 40:48Speaker 5: You pull the word? It's, oh my gosh. It's like
- 40:52Speaker 5: on the tip of my tongue.
- 40:53Speaker 12: I cannot give you anything other than moral support.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Ian, do you want to describe it once more and
- 40:59Speaker 2: see if that jogs anything in Audra's brain about who
- 41:02Speaker 2: jumped out?
- 41:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it was this woman who was covered in blood
- 41:05Speaker 5: from the blood rain. And then after she gets mauled,
- 41:08Speaker 5: Peeta drags her to the lake and and she's having
- 41:13Speaker 5: a hard time breathing because her throat just got ripped out.
- 41:16Speaker 5: And then Peeta's like, hey, look up at the sky,
- 41:18Speaker 5: look up at the sky, it's so beautiful, right? And
- 41:19Speaker 5: then she just dies right there. But like, what is it?
- 41:23Speaker 5: It's like people that, I don't, people that the Capitol
- 41:28Speaker 5: messed with.
- 41:29Speaker 12: Yeah, and like, like, um.
- 41:31Speaker 6: We'll have our chance, it's okay.
- 41:32Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 41:34Speaker 6: Like they take their tongue.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Oh, it's so close, that's such a good guess, but
- 41:37Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna have to, oh, what did you say, Ian?
- 41:40Speaker 1: A muggle.
- 41:45Speaker 2: So close, we are gonna move over, and because I've
- 41:48Speaker 2: set up the concept of a steal, I think we've
- 41:50Speaker 2: gotta go for it. Julia?
- 41:51Speaker 10: James, do you know it?
- 41:54Speaker 6: The word for the monkeys?
- 41:55Speaker 3: No.
- 41:56Speaker 5: The woman.
- 41:57Speaker 1: The woman they.
- 41:57Speaker 10: Refer to as a morphling.
- 41:59Speaker 1: It's a Morphling.
- 42:00Speaker 7: Because she's addicted to Morphling, which is a drug that's
- 42:03Speaker 7: like an opiate. And she loves colors because she's like
- 42:07Speaker 7: on drugs and that's why Peeta is like, look at
- 42:09Speaker 7: the sky, it's so pretty.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Just one point. It is just one point.
- 42:14Speaker 10: It's a franchise I love, Lance.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Morphling. You correctly got it. It is Morphling.
- 42:21Speaker 2: You stole the point. We are going to have one
- 42:24Speaker 2: last pass at this. One last set of mimes. This
- 42:27Speaker 2: time it is not anything from the Hunger Games. This
- 42:30Speaker 2: is from Matt's first Hunger Games. So these are very
- 42:33Speaker 2: specific deaths that I have come up with for Shiloh
- 42:36Speaker 2: to mime. We'll say they're adults at this point, I reckon,
- 42:40Speaker 2: just to protect the branding.
- 42:41Speaker 7: The Morphling and Blight were adults at the time when
- 42:44Speaker 7: they did get tailed.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yes, good point, good point. So, if you would like
- 42:48Speaker 2: to cover your eyes for this final clue for your team,
- 42:51Speaker 2: let's see what it is. Okay, it's a very specific death, Shiloh.
- 42:59Speaker 1: Have you got it?
- 43:00Speaker 5: All right.
- 43:01Speaker 2: Let's get rid of that from the screen. And then
- 43:05Speaker 2: you can look now. Okay, Shiloh, round of applause for Shiloh.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:10Speaker 7: I think it's a piano.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 43:31Speaker 10: In a storm?
- 43:35Speaker 1: And another child is dead! Give it up for Shiloh!
- 43:39Speaker 1: I did say adult. Okay, any guesses as to the death?
- 43:43Speaker 6: I had the last little bit.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, please. Please add the last little bit.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm here?
- 43:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:52Speaker 13: Boom!
- 43:52Speaker 12: Thank you.
- 43:54Speaker 10: Did you just say I'm peeing?
- 43:55Speaker 12: No.
- 43:56Speaker 7: Okay.
- 43:58Speaker 2: So the more accurately you can describe what just happened,
- 44:00Speaker 2: the more points I will give you.
- 44:02Speaker 8: Okay, you appear to have been typing on some sort
- 44:05Speaker 8: of computering device, and then you picked up a heavy object,
- 44:11Speaker 8: walked away, there were bees.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Flying in front of your face, and then a piano
- 44:17Speaker 6: fell on you.
- 44:20Speaker 10: I thought you were playing a piano.
- 44:22Speaker 7: You picked up the piano and you walked into a store,
- 44:25Speaker 7: or out of a store, some kind of door was there,
- 44:29Speaker 7: and then something heavy fell on your head.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Okay, okay, out of five, I'm gonna say you're like
- 44:36Speaker 2: three out of five, correct there? It was actually crushed
- 44:39Speaker 2: by an anvil while trying to cross the street carrying
- 44:42Speaker 2: a glass piano.
- 44:44Speaker 10: Oh, tink, tink, tink.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Tink, tink, tink.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Tink, tink, tink happens all the time. It's how I'm
- 44:50Speaker 2: going to die. Okay, so we're gonna see one more
- 44:55Speaker 2: of those. It's gonna be Shiloh's last mime. Penis, if
- 44:58Speaker 2: you could close your eyes there.
- 44:59Speaker 5: Peter's closed.
- 45:02Speaker 2: And let's see the final death on screen. Okay, okay,
- 45:13Speaker 2: we have that one. You can look now, and Shiloh,
- 45:16Speaker 2: round of applause for Shiloh.
- 45:17Speaker 6: I didn't get to the end.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Click, click.
- 45:23Speaker 7: Ow.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Give it up for Shala, everyone!
- 46:08Speaker 1: Fantastic miming all throughout the round. All that remains is
- 46:13Speaker 1: for Pina Malark to correctly guess what they just saw.
- 46:16Speaker 5: I know what this is.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Take it away.
- 46:18Speaker 5: So this is Mr. Krabs with a gun forcing SpongeBob
- 46:24Speaker 5: to eat hot Krabby Patties fresh off the grill.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Okay. Audra, would you like to add anything to that?
- 46:32Speaker 12: I think.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Instinct is no.
- 46:34Speaker 12: The instinct is no, but my instinct is wrong. In
- 46:39Speaker 12: that I also... I think.
- 46:44Speaker 12: I don't have anything else. That was Mr.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Crab.
- 46:49Speaker 12: To eat Krabby Patties right off the grill.
- 46:52Speaker 2: I think I can only give you two out of
- 46:54Speaker 2: five points for that one. You were on it with
- 46:57Speaker 2: the crab, for sure. It was eating a cake full
- 46:59Speaker 2: of knives while being held at gunpoint by a giant
- 47:02Speaker 2: crab man.
- 47:03Speaker 5: Click, click. Click, click. I thought there was a gun.
- 47:06Speaker 11: I thought he was just.
- 47:08Speaker 8: I'm having trouble visualizing this. How will the crab man
- 47:12Speaker 8: hold the gun and pull the trigger?
- 47:13Speaker 6: How does that work?
- 47:14Speaker 5: You have to believe.
- 47:14Speaker 6: Oh, there's someone in the audience wants to answer.
- 47:16Speaker 1: It's a crab gun.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 47:19Speaker 5: Yeah, James. There you go.
- 47:20Speaker 10: It's a crab gun.
- 47:21Speaker 6: Yeah, James.
- 47:22Speaker 8: Thank you, Robbie.
- 47:23Speaker 6: That makes sense.
- 47:24Speaker 1: So we'll say two points for that, I think. That's
- 47:26Speaker 1: the end of the round. Give it up for Shiloh!
- 47:31Speaker 2: Producer Kylie, could you please sew the scores into an
- 47:34Speaker 2: opulent fabric for us to spite our enemies with?
- 47:38Speaker 7: I got it, I got it.
- 47:40Speaker 10: I'm gonna go over here.
- 47:44Speaker 13: Very dramatic.
- 47:45Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, it is so dramatic.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Thank you, Kylie.
- 47:50Speaker 7: It's very, very close. Julia and James, the Mockingjays, they
- 47:56Speaker 7: are at 12 points.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Double digit.
- 48:01Speaker 7: Audra and Ian on Peter Malark. They are at 10 points.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Oh, it's pretty close.
- 48:09Speaker 10: It's pretty close.
- 48:10Speaker 12: Oh, I'm trying.
- 48:15Speaker 2: The scores are very close, but it's time to give
- 48:17Speaker 2: power to the people and incite a rebellion.
- 48:20Speaker 1: In round three. Exactly, that's how the jingle goes. Round
- 48:28Speaker 1: three is called This is Democracy Manifest. Thank you.
- 48:32Speaker 2: The Hunger Games is known for its freedom fighter speeches
- 48:36Speaker 2: and dictator declarations. In this game, I'm going to ask
- 48:39Speaker 2: each player to take on the role of either dictator
- 48:42Speaker 2: or freedom fighter, one per team. Then I will ask
- 48:45Speaker 2: the audience for a suggestion of a problem-facing society. Nothing
- 48:50Speaker 2: too serious, I mean things like people using their phones
- 48:52Speaker 2: while driving, that sort of thing. We will then hear
- 48:55Speaker 2: from one dictator and one freedom fighter on this subject,
- 49:00Speaker 2: each giving a 45-second speech. Then, via an audience vote,
- 49:04Speaker 2: we will see who won the popularity of the people,
- 49:07Speaker 2: and I will award them points.
- 49:08Speaker 1: This is Democracy Manifest! Okay, so first of all, can
- 49:15Speaker 1: we choose our roles over here?
- 49:17Speaker 6: Freedom.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Freedom fighter?
- 49:18Speaker 6: Dictator.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Classic. Didn't need to think about it. I meant gender-wise.
- 49:28Speaker 10: Historically accurate.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Those are the two genders.
- 49:31Speaker 5: Freedom Fighter and Dictator.
- 49:34Speaker 1: So true, so true.
- 49:37Speaker 2: And Pina Malark, who would like to be the dictator
- 49:39Speaker 2: and who would like to be the freedom fighter?
- 49:43Speaker 5: Let's go crazy, I'll be the freedom fighter.
- 49:45Speaker 10: Okay, fix it up.
- 49:46Speaker 12: I'll be the dictator.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Subvert the trope, I love it so much.
- 49:50Speaker 2: Okay, so, first up, we are going to take a
- 49:55Speaker 2: suggestion from the audience of a problem facing society you
- 49:58Speaker 2: would like them to talk about.
- 49:59Speaker 6: People taking speaker phone calls in public.
- 50:03Speaker 5: Ooh, okay. You don't have to take a speakerphone call.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Taking speakerphone calls in public?
- 50:09Speaker 8: Okay.
- 50:09Speaker 13: Too many ads in mobile games.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Ooh, I like the idea of dystopian utopian people talking
- 50:15Speaker 2: about that. Too many ads in mobile games is the problem.
- 50:19Speaker 2: That's what you'll be addressing society via some kind of
- 50:22Speaker 2: video link, I guess. Can't really see the camera, but
- 50:25Speaker 2: talk straight into the camera.
- 50:26Speaker 1: That would be fun.
- 50:27Speaker 7: And there's no just like... One side wants one thing
- 50:31Speaker 7: and one side wants the other.
- 50:33Speaker 2: It's however you would win the people over using that subject.
- 50:36Speaker 2: You're a populist, ultimately, that's what this is about. And
- 50:40Speaker 2: so it's like, you don't have to be, you could
- 50:41Speaker 2: be for, you could be against.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Populism, baby.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Got it.
- 50:46Speaker 10: Fox popular.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Okay, so let's have the freedom fighter from the Mocking
- 50:52Speaker 2: Jays versus the dictator from Pina.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Let's begin. Let's begin with.
- 51:03Speaker 2: The Freedom Fighter, all about there's too many ads in
- 51:07Speaker 2: mobile games.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Go.
- 51:08Speaker 10: You're already under the thumb of capitalism.
- 51:11Speaker 7: You don't need more ads telling you what to buy when.
- 51:16Speaker 11: You're already so poor. You're playing a free mobile game.
- 51:21Speaker 11: You're only playing a free one because you don't have money.
- 51:24Speaker 11: And they know this, and yet they still torture you.
- 51:27Speaker 11: This is your 15 minute break at your job. You
- 51:30Speaker 11: just want to get away and you can't. They won't
- 51:34Speaker 11: let you, but if you follow me, I promise to
- 51:37Speaker 11: find you games that do not have ads in them. Mockingjay, go.
- 51:47Speaker 10: Go to Pokemon, go to the polls.
- 51:49Speaker 1: All right, give it up for Julia.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Fantastic, we can't decide yet because this is a two-party system.
- 51:59Speaker 2: We need to hear from the other side. Let's hear
- 52:02Speaker 2: from the dictator of whatever place we're in.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Colorado, why not?
- 52:08Speaker 10: Denver was the capital.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Take it away.
- 52:12Speaker 9: My gentle populace, you may be hearing people saying that
- 52:18Speaker 9: you don't need the ads in your video games. And
- 52:22Speaker 9: I'm telling you, They're partially right, but in a more
- 52:29Speaker 9: real sense, I'm right. You need those ads in those games, but.
- 52:37Speaker 12: Not for free. They're taking advantage of you.
- 52:42Speaker 3: My government is willing to pay you one tenth of
- 52:47Speaker 3: a penny for every five advertisements you watch on your
- 52:54Speaker 3: mobile games.
- 52:55Speaker 1: And that's your time! Woo!
- 52:59Speaker 5: Too real.
- 52:59Speaker 12: That was fast.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Too real.
- 53:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 12: I spoke slow, and so that went fast.
- 53:05Speaker 1: That's the secret of being a dictator.
- 53:08Speaker 2: Okay, wonderful peak improv audience, make some noise if you
- 53:11Speaker 2: preferred the message given by the freedom fighter. And now
- 53:17Speaker 2: make some noise if you prefer living under the dictator.
- 53:20Speaker 1: That was louder.
- 53:24Speaker 10: It was.
- 53:26Speaker 1: All right, and this round, limited scoring, that's gonna be
- 53:29Speaker 1: one point. We need it, we need it.
- 53:33Speaker 10: I would trust her.
- 53:34Speaker 6: Especially, I mean like, you saw Julianne Moore.
- 53:39Speaker 1: It's true it's.
- 53:40Speaker 2: True um okay sorry i just remembered for a second
- 53:45Speaker 2: her name is coin.
- 53:47Speaker 1: It's just a funny name um okay we are.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Gonna get one more topic one more problem facing society
- 53:55Speaker 2: right now from the peak improv audience for our remaining
- 53:57Speaker 2: panelists to uh give speeches about so shout it out.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Getting arrested eating a succulent foreign meal.
- 54:04Speaker 2: You're referencing the the title of it i love it
- 54:07Speaker 2: very good let's hear some more.
- 54:10Speaker 1: What was that, sir? Potholes, potholes, the classic one for
- 54:14Speaker 1: Colorado Springs. I love it.
- 54:17Speaker 2: You are giving an address to your adoring public or
- 54:21Speaker 2: freedom fighter brethren about potholes.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Shall we take it away? Actually, let's see it from
- 54:28Speaker 1: the dictator first, I think. No, well, you are the dictator. Sorry, man.
- 54:35Speaker 5: Get it together, piss hog.
- 54:38Speaker 2: I'm sweating in this jacket. Okay, let's hear from the dictator.
- 54:43Speaker 2: His message on potholes.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Take it away.
- 54:46Speaker 8: My fellow Americans, there are too many potholes around and
- 54:51Speaker 8: they're being created by people. There's a very simple solution
- 54:56Speaker 8: to the problem with the potholes. If somebody creates a pothole,
- 55:00Speaker 8: we fucking kill them. It may sound like I'm being hyperbolic.
- 55:07Speaker 6: I am not.
- 55:09Speaker 8: We will put these people into a cannon and we
- 55:12Speaker 8: will fire it. And because this speech is sponsored by Kalshi,
- 55:18Speaker 8: you will be allowed to bet on where they land
- 55:21Speaker 8: and who they land on. And if it's funny enough,
- 55:26Speaker 8: you will win a bonus of at least $ 7. That's
- 55:31Speaker 8: your time!
- 55:33Speaker 3: Wow, wow, wow.
- 55:35Speaker 1: That's promising a hell of a lot more than a
- 55:37Speaker 1: tenth of a penny.
- 55:38Speaker 2: Yeah okay we've heard from the dictator but let's hear
- 55:41Speaker 2: from the freedom fighter all about potholes ready yeah yeah
- 55:46Speaker 2: take it away.
- 55:47Speaker 13: Potholes are ruining our state i'm tired of driving my
- 55:52Speaker 13: truck to work and next thing i know i got
- 55:54Speaker 13: a blown tire and they're gonna start dropping potholes from
- 55:57Speaker 13: the sky and i gotta say we need to start
- 55:59Speaker 13: fighting back with our propane and propane accessories If you
- 56:03Speaker 13: would join me, we're going to blow up their corporation
- 56:06Speaker 13: so they can't harm us from just trying to commute
- 56:09Speaker 13: to work. It's not our fault that they put the
- 56:12Speaker 13: freaking ice, they try to put the ice with the,
- 56:15Speaker 13: what is it called, the salt.
- 56:17Speaker 1: And it makes all the holes.
- 56:18Speaker 5: It's not our fault. I just need to get to
- 56:20Speaker 5: work so I can feed my family.
- 56:23Speaker 13: So please, join my side in taking down Big Pothole.
- 56:29Speaker 5: God bless America. God bless Colorado Springs.
- 56:33Speaker 3: All right.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Give it up for Ian. Fantastic stuff.
- 56:38Speaker 2: I love that throughout the history of this podcast, I
- 56:41Speaker 2: will often add modifiers like, and by the way, do
- 56:43Speaker 2: it as Hank Hill.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Ian just did that all on his own.
- 56:47Speaker 6: Should've known.
- 56:48Speaker 5: Do it as Hank Hill.
- 56:49Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I couldn't agree more. Okay, I can't possibly decide, because
- 56:54Speaker 1: I can't vote, I'm not a citizen, so. Let's hear
- 56:58Speaker 1: from our audience.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Did you prefer the speech given by the dictator? Okay, okay,
- 57:07Speaker 2: and what about the speech from the freedom fighter? That
- 57:12Speaker 2: was pretty close, I think one person was louder for
- 57:14Speaker 2: the freedom fighter, so I'm gonna say.
- 57:16Speaker 1: This goes to the dictator. I think it's the promise
- 57:19Speaker 1: of $ 7 that did it. That's one point.
- 57:22Speaker 10: And a bonus, if it's funny.
- 57:27Speaker 1: And that is the end of round three.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Producer Kylie, can you please throw three fingers into the
- 57:33Speaker 2: air as many times as you need to indicate the
- 57:35Speaker 2: latest scores?
- 57:37Speaker 1: You don't have to do that. I won't follow.
- 57:53Speaker 7: Going into the next round, we have the Mocking Jays
- 57:59Speaker 7: at 13.
- 58:00Speaker 11: And we have Peter Millar with 11.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Okay, okay. Still anybody's game heading into the final quickfire round.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Should we do it? Should we play our final quickfire round?
- 58:19Speaker 10: Piss Hog cooked up something different.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I did cook up something different this time. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:24Speaker 1: We're going to play one of our.
- 58:25Speaker 10: Wait, I want to hear Ian say it.
- 58:27Speaker 5: Are you calling him Piss Hog?
- 58:29Speaker 10: Yeah!
- 58:30Speaker 11: Piss Hog!
- 58:31Speaker 5: Piss Hog!
- 58:32Speaker 1: Piss Hog! Piss Hog! It's from a show all the
- 58:35Speaker 1: way back in February. I consent. I can't even remember why.
- 58:41Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 58:42Speaker 10: I just won't let it die.
- 58:43Speaker 12: I do remember, but I think it's funnier if we
- 58:47Speaker 12: collectively forget why.
- 58:55Speaker 2: Our final quickfire round will test your broader pop culture knowledge,
- 58:59Speaker 2: and it's called Listermania. Now, I have for each team
- 59:04Speaker 2: a list of 13 jobs slash professions slash industries, the
- 59:09Speaker 2: kinds of things that could be a district in The
- 59:12Speaker 2: Hunger Games. They'll start out with a few from the series,
- 59:15Speaker 2: but then move into some fan fiction ones that I
- 59:17Speaker 2: made up. One player will be the describer and the
- 59:21Speaker 2: other the guesser. The describer will have two minutes on
- 59:24Speaker 2: the clock to describe as many of them as possible
- 59:26Speaker 2: to their teammate, without saying the word or words in
- 59:30Speaker 2: the clue, with one point per correct answer given. The
- 59:35Speaker 2: team that is in the lead gets to go first,
- 59:38Speaker 2: because then we can play some catch up with the underdogs.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Mocking Jays, I believe you're in the lead at the moment.
- 59:44Speaker 2: Would you like the Gale list or the Peeta list?
- 59:48Speaker 7: Wait, we should let the Peeners have Peeta, right?
- 59:51Speaker 6: I think that's only fair. Yeah, we'll take Gale.
- 59:53Speaker 1: You're going to take Gale?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Just out of interest as fans, are you team Gale,
- 59:58Speaker 2: team Peeta?
- 59:59Speaker 7: I just, I mean, maybe if they hadn't gotten Liam,
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: what's his face, Hemsworth, I could have.
- 1:00:06Speaker 8: See, PETA is really nice and sweet, but Gale is
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: a war criminal, so it kind of evens out.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's hot.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: It is hot.
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: It's like a little dangerous, you know?
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: And that's what we like about Gale. Who would like
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: to be the describer of the clues, and who would
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: like to be the guesser?
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: I like describing, but I also want to see what
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: you want.
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: Because I'm nice. I guess I can be describer. You
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: want to be describer?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:00:35Speaker 11: Okay.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Okay, James, here is the Gale list for you. There
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: are 13 total to get in two minutes. Kylie, it'll
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: be one point per correct answer. I'll signal when it's
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: a correct answer.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: Are you ready? Yeah.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Take it away. Your time starts now.
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: Okay. So first one, uh, Black rocks come out of
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: the ground.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Coal?
- 1:00:56Speaker 10: Oil.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: Yes, yes. Second one.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: We're going coal. It's a point.
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: Second one. Animals on farms. You raise them, and then you... Butcher.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: Close.
- 1:01:09Speaker 10: Farmer, butcher, slaughterhouse.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: When you raise animals... Livestock.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Yes, livestock.
- 1:01:15Speaker 13: Livestock.
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: Okay, also rocks, but like fancy rocks.
- 1:01:20Speaker 10: Geology.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: No, fancy rocks that you make into like houses.
- 1:01:24Speaker 10: Diamonds. Oh, houses?
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: Yeah, houses and stuff.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Houses.
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: Marble.
- 1:01:29Speaker 11: Roads.
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: Clothes.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Concrete.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: Close, close.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Fancy.
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: You make it into houses.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: Pass.
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: Another one. Okay, the things you put on your head.
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: Hats.
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: A haberdashery.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Yes, we'll take it.
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:01:45Speaker 8: The things in your backyard that you bounce on and
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: send your trampoline.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Yes Yep, we'll say it's trampoline district. Think of it
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: as what they would be doing.
- 1:01:53Speaker 8: Yes Okay, so like kind of like trackerjackers except they
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: make honey bees aviary yes, but when when when you
- 1:02:04Speaker 8: have bees and you.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Have them either the profession or the industry and Honey making?
- 1:02:10Speaker 10: Apiary?
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: What?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: So close.
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: What is it called when you hold bees?
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I heard bees. Move on to the next one. Move
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: on to the next one.
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: Okay. So you put on makeup, big red nose.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Clown.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: Clowning.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Clowning. Good stuff.
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: You put utensils, plates, things.
- 1:02:32Speaker 10: A server. A place setter.
- 1:02:34Speaker 13: Yes.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: Okay, you run and jump and stuff over obstacles and
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: you film it.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: Parkour.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Yes, seven.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: Okay, he's the Muppet Frog.
- 1:02:47Speaker 10: Kermit.
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: Yeah, and if you try to act like him.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: That's your time. I think that was seven points total there.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Give it up for the Mockingjays.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: That was very tough. It's always tough going first. That's
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: why I make the leaders do it. Okay, we now
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: have the pizza list.
- 1:03:06Speaker 10: Masonry was the fancy rock making.
- 1:03:10Speaker 12: You can do this.
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: Masonry.
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: No, you pick.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Masonry was the.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: I probably wouldn't have gotten unless you said like Secret Society.
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: I can describe.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Okay, Ian's describing from the pizza list.
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: So this is like made up districts, right?
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so the first three will be real districts from
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: the Hunger Games, and then after that, it's nonsense bullshit
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: I came up with at 2 a.m.
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: Nice.
- 1:03:34Speaker 12: That's why you weren't in bed. Oh, I wouldn't have gotten.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: This one. We're married.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:03:46Speaker 12: Oh, yeah, we're married. No, I was just looking in
- 1:03:50Speaker 12: his windows.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: Did someone just say Mrs.
- 1:03:53Speaker 10: Pisshog?
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: Mrs.
- 1:03:54Speaker 10: Pisshog.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Okay. Peanut, are you ready to start describing?
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: Super ready.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Your time starts now.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: So it's what's made out of trees and then they
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: sell at Home Depot.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Lumber?
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: One.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: It's when you cast a line into the water.
- 1:04:13Speaker 7: Fishing.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: Two.
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: It's like stuff you make clothes out of. Okay.
- 1:04:21Speaker 12: Oh, textiles.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Three!
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: Wow, yeah. So this is when you take a dead
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: animal that you're gonna eat.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: Murder.
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: That you're gonna eat and you put mineral on.
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: It, I think.
- 1:04:37Speaker 12: Preservation? Salted pork.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: We're gonna skip that one.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Skip that one?
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: Yeah. So when, oh, I can't say that word. Girl soccer.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: You said one of the words. Oh, I did? Oh, no!
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: Next one. I don't know what that is. So it's
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: when you have someone in your house that you pay
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: that brings you... Butler? That brings you white liquid. A milkmaid?
- 1:05:05Speaker 12: Yes, it's a milkmaid!
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: It's something I do here at this theater.
- 1:05:13Speaker 12: Crack jokes.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: But more specifics in the name.
- 1:05:17Speaker 12: Oh, improv.
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: Improv comedy.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Yeah, improv comedy.
- 1:05:21Speaker 6: Wow.
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: And then this is part of the judicial... No, I
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: just said it. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: No, you didn't. You didn't say it.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: Judicial and the government.
- 1:05:30Speaker 12: The branch of government?
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: Legislative?
- 1:05:36Speaker 12: It's the other one.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Skip, skip.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: This is like an art made out of a pasta.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: You said one of the words, I'm so sorry.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Oh, I keep doing that. Okay, big cars that you
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: go watch smashed of.
- 1:05:49Speaker 12: Oh, oh my gosh, a monster truck.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: District.
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: When people go underwater, people go underwater with a snorkel.
- 1:05:57Speaker 12: Scuba district.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: They go get stuff that people hit in the lake.
- 1:06:02Speaker 12: Oh, oh, like dredge? Like a dredging district?
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: White ball.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: That's your time!
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: I think that was six points there.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: What were the least clues? Yeah, Ian, do you want
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: to read them off?
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: Yeah, meat curing. I said soccer for soccer coaching. Supreme
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: Court justices. I said art for macaroni art. There was geoguessers.
- 1:06:27Speaker 10: Shit.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: I don't know what that is, PR teams, and golf
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: ball scuba divers.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Golf ball scuba divers, a real job and every good
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: dystopian future needs them. Give it up for our teams!
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Before we get to the final scores, I'd like to
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: thank our players. You showed a real hunger for these games.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Your laughter is catching your fire.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Mockingjay.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Julia, thank you so much for being the joyous improviser
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: you are.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: You are a stick horse, you are a tune titan,
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: and a teacher here at the Peak Improv Theatre. What
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: do you want to shout out to the people in
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: the room and the folks at home?
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: Please check out peakimprov.com for anything related to shows or
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: classes here at Peak Improv in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: can catch The Stick Horses, which is a pay-what-you-can family-friendly show.
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: on the first Friday of every month, and then Tune Titans,
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: a not family-friendly improvised musical improv show that is.
- 1:07:29Speaker 10: On the third Friday of every month.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Fantastic stuff. Give it up for Julia, everyone. And James,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: thank you so much for joining us tonight.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: Thank you for having me.
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: Of course.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: James, you are a prolific blogger. BookTuber? Am I saying
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: that correctly?
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: I believe so.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:07:47Speaker 10: BookTuber?
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: It's because in my voice it sounds like the instrument.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Like a tuba. BookTuber? BookTuber?
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: James, you're an analyst extraordinaire. Where can folks find your videos,
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: follow you online, all that good stuff?
- 1:08:01Speaker 8: They can follow me on YouTube at James Tullis. That's
- 1:08:05Speaker 8: T-U-L-L-O-S because I don't know why the O makes an
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: I sound, but it does.
- 1:08:11Speaker 6: You can also find me on TikTok.
- 1:08:13Speaker 8: I try not to be there because for every 10
- 1:08:15Speaker 8: minutes you're on TikTok, your IQ drops by approximately three points.
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: And occasionally I'm here too.
- 1:08:23Speaker 10: At the Peak Improv Theater.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: At the Peak Improv Theater, yes.
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: We can't forget that.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Thank you so much, James. Everyone give it up for James.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: And Ian, thank you so much for taking your mask
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: off for this show.
- 1:08:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: It feels great to be out of it, yeah.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: You are, of course, in Felty and Friends that we
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: all love. When can folks come and see Felty and Friends?
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: Felty and Friends every second Friday of the month.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: It's a great time. If you want to come have
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: a fun time and watch some puppet chaos.
- 1:08:50Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Peekandprof.com for tickets as well.
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: Anything else you want to shout out, Ian?
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: So October 24th, we are starting a new troupe called
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: 30 Seconds to Gotham.
- 1:09:00Speaker 12: Yeah!
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: So if you know anything, so it's a Batman-inspired trope,
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: but his best friend is Jared Leto, who is the
- 1:09:10Speaker 5: lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars and is the
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: actor for the Joker in Suicide Squad. So it's going
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: to be a fun time. Come out to that. Alphabet
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: Soup is, is it the first Saturday of the month?
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: First Saturday of the month. Yeah. So come out to
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: all that at peakimprovtheater.com.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:09:30Speaker 10: Peakimprov.com.
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: Thank you. I don't do any advertising. I just come
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: up here and do stuff.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: You did a great job. Give it up for Ian.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: And Audra, we have one more live show before the
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: end of the year.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: It is on December 11th. Tell us all about it.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Yes, December 11th, we are doing a holiday movie themed
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: episode of Fandemonium. A really festive time. We're going to
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: try to be as festive as possible for the holiday season.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: It's a little earlier, so hopefully people won't have gone
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: home for the holiday season yet. But yeah, come out
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: December 11th. I'll probably have cocoa. I'll probably have alcoholic
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: and non-alcoholic cocoa.
- 1:10:14Speaker 12: And we'll do some fun, silly holiday movie games.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Yeah!
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: We're gonna have a piano, we're gonna have a little
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: sing-song together, and I think, I've heard a rumor Santa's.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: Gonna be there. Like, on the panel.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: No way!
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: So, December 11th, come out for that. Links to all
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: of the above in the show notes, but you in
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: the room don't need to hear that. Give yourselves a
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: round of applause, we've been a fantastic audience tonight. Okay, Kylie,
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: we might have predicted how this has gone, but... Could
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: you read the final scores for us, if you would?
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: Can I get a drum roll?
- 1:10:48Speaker 13: In second.
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: Place, we have.
- 1:11:01Speaker 12: Peter Millar. Second place in Hunger Games. And in first place,
- 1:11:08Speaker 12: we have Mockingjay.
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: With 20 points.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Congratulations.
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: They went by two points the whole time.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: That means you win this month's mystery prize.
- 1:11:21Speaker 12: Open it.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: What could it be? Let's find out. Let's find out.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: What have we got in there? Ooh.
- 1:11:27Speaker 6: It is a small frying pan with the letter M.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: It's Pan M.
- 1:11:32Speaker 10: It's Pan M.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: This has been Fandemonium. Thank you so much for coming
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: to see us live. Give yourselves a huge.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: Round of applause.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Check out our six seasons of this show wherever you
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: get your podcasts. Make some noise for producer Kylie on scores.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Give it up for producer Bambi in the booths. Thank
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: you to the Peak Improv Theatre. This has been a
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Lilypad production for iHeartRadio and the internet. Thank you and
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: good night! And usually music plays now.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: And there it was, our Hunger Games fandomonium, like four
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: years in the making.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Thank you so much to our panel. They were brilliant. I.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: My favorite thing in the world is to be surrounded
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: by funny people, and that was such a joy. And
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: this is why you should also keep suggesting fandoms to
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: me after live shows, when you bump into me, shoot
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: me a message on social media, because eventually we do
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: get round to them. It might take four years, but
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: we do. Sorry if you're a Hunger Games fan and
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: we didn't get into the books or movies a ton,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: but you should know the deal by now. It's a
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: framework for doing comedy. If you enjoyed what you heard
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: and you are based in Colorado, then please do consider
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: coming to our show on December 11th, our final live
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: show of the year. It is going to be holiday
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: movie themed, Christmassy vibes. We'll be covering the full gambit
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: of holiday movies from 1940s classics to hot frosty. But
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: all that remains for me to do today is to
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: thank our wonderful executive producers, and I will be doing
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: it in the style of Caesar Flickerman, who I probably
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: should have channeled more for this live Hunger Games. A
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: huge thank you to the fantastic Ash and Adam for
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: supporting us for all this time. Your support means the world.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: But I must say, you are going to be making
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: your way into the arena, and you may have to
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: kill each other. Ah, Justin Dodberg. What a beauty, what
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: a legend, what a treasure. Thank you so much for
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: your continued support of this vital program. Thank you so
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: much to Derek and Taylor, another romantic pair finding themselves
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: in the arena. That'll make exciting viewing for this year's spectators.
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: And of course, a warm, warm, heartfelt thank you to
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: Aaron Randolph, fellow Games Master. And if you check out
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: BFYTW's Blood on the Clock Tower games, you can see
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: he enjoys the bloodbaths as much as I do. Is
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: this how the tooch sounds? Let's keep going. Ah, the
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: fabulous Kristen Farley. You know, it's a shame you're probably
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: going to die out there, but your death will inspire
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: a nation. Troy Davidson, what a legend. A veteran of
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: this game's He fought in the games 25 years ago,
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: and he's back for vengeance. Ah, and I see we
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: have the cast of Team Up from District 1 and
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: District 2. This little posse of Johnny, Steph, Ethan, and
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Ben are likely to cause trouble in the arena for
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: some of our young recruits, as they are extremely overpowered.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: Super overpowered.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Corbin Stein, what a titan. I imagine that he's going
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: to be breaking skulls faster than anyone else in the arena.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: What an absolute joy to have him as part of
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: this year's bloodbath.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: Ivan Grossman.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: I think Ivan might be this year's most likable contestant,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: so I fully expect him to... This voice definitely isn't
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Caesar Flickerman anymore. I don't know what it is. Ivan,
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: look forward to the gifts you will receive. And Matt Smith. Oh,
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: this pretender always has a trick up his sleeve. You know,
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised if he comes out on top
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: through wits and wiles and a third W thing. And
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: of course, the spectacular Shirley Stout, who I think, I
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: think might be a bit nervous. That's a line from
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: the film. Shirley, thank you so much for gracing us
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: with your presence. The support means everything.
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: The world.
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Thank you so much, citizens of Panem. Now please enjoy
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: your 69th Hunger Games! Or 420th Hunger Games, if that's
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: a funnier button. Okay, that's enough of the Caesar voice.
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: Is it.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Was I even doing it? I... I don't know.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: What I do know is I'm very, very thankful and
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: grateful for your support. It allows us to keep making
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: these silly game shows that we love so dearly. Find
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: us on Instagram, find us on Patreon, but for now, goodbye.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: And happy Halloween!
- 1:16:43Speaker 12: This has been a Lilypad production.
