- 0:00If the walls of certain homes could speak, some of the stories
- 0:04they would tell would more than likely shock and amaze us, or
- 0:10perhaps repulse and terrify us instead.
- 0:14This is one such story that if a house could tell its own tale,
- 0:18it would certainly be one we would never forget.
- 0:22A family moves to the country in search of peace, but those
- 0:26dreams are soon shattered by supernatural terror.
- 0:30Something evil lurks within the woods outside of their home, and
- 0:34this evil begins to stalk and wreak havoc upon everyone that
- 0:39dwells within the home. Can they save themselves before
- 0:44it's too late? This is the untold story of the
- 0:47haunted Hinsdale House, also known as the Dandy House, and
- 0:51the entities that infested it. Hinsdale, NY, A small town with
- 1:04a rustic and rural charm, tucked deep into the countryside and
- 1:09far away from the crime, concrete and smog of New York
- 1:14City. Instead of gazing at
- 1:16skyscrapers, they would rather gaze at the surrounding
- 1:19mountains covered in dense foliage.
- 1:23But these mountains and their surrounding woods harbor many
- 1:26secrets and have many stories to tell.
- 1:31This is just one of them. The year is 1970 and the Dandy
- 1:36family is in pursuit of their American dream.
- 1:41After years of vacationing to Hinsdale and the surrounding
- 1:44areas to catch a break from their fast-paced life in
- 1:48Buffalo, they finally reached a point where they can turn their
- 1:52vacation into their daily life. Seeking their own rural
- 1:56paradise, they come across a listing for a home that seems
- 2:01idyllic for their family and its needs.
- 2:04Clara Dandy, the mother of the family, believed that they all
- 2:08got along so much better in the country, like it had some form
- 2:12of redemption qualities about it that seemed to rejuvenate their
- 2:16spirits and their relationships. As they wind their way through
- 2:21the countryside, they lay eyes on the home for the first time.
- 2:26They are not only taken aback by the beauty and the sheer size of
- 2:29the house, but that it sat upon 8 acres of land surrounded by
- 2:34dense and breathtaking woods. Clara would describe her
- 2:38feelings about first seeing the house as being overcome with a
- 2:42deep sense of peace. It was like I'd finally come
- 2:46home after years of being elsewhere.
- 2:48And the air, the air was like breathing champagne.
- 2:52It was wonderful. The home is over 100 years old
- 2:56and still had most of the original and ornate woodwork
- 3:00intact. It just seemed to emanate charm
- 3:03and elegance. As the children explored the
- 3:07nearby woods, Mr. and Missus Dandy continued their tour, but
- 3:12when they were being shown the storage space underneath the
- 3:15stairs, the door was initially stuck, but after some elbow
- 3:20grease from Mr. Dandy, they were finally able to get it open.
- 3:25It revealed A dusty space of sorts with a fireplace, the one
- 3:30that didn't seem to fit the feeling of the house at all.
- 3:33Clara would describe her feelings towards the space like
- 3:36this. I wasn't sure why, but I felt
- 3:40very uneasy when we opened up the storage space.
- 3:43I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was dark and desolate,
- 3:48not at all like the rest of the house.
- 3:51But she quickly would dismiss these feelings, attributing the
- 3:55creepy factor to her city upbringing and the fact that
- 3:59they didn't have storage rooms like that where she was from.
- 4:02After closing the space and continuing to evaluate their
- 4:06opportunity, the feelings of peace would return and the
- 4:10dandies decide that they can't resist the charm of this rustic
- 4:14100 year old home, so they decide to purchase it once
- 4:19things are squared away. Several months later they move
- 4:22in to start their new rural existence.
- 4:26On move in day, Claire's brother decided to lend a helping hand
- 4:30and had begun to move things in hours before the family was able
- 4:34to arrive. When loading in a box of
- 4:37belongings, as he opened the door he was greeted by a flurry
- 4:42of insects. Both bees and flies pelted him
- 4:46in his face, rushing past them and then unloading the box onto
- 4:50the floor in the main room. He was startled to see hundreds
- 4:54of dead bees scattered all over the floor, and even more
- 4:58startled to see hundreds still alive encoding the windows.
- 5:04It was still cold during this time of year and although he too
- 5:08wasn't from the country, he found it rather odd that there
- 5:12would be any kind of infestation at this time.
- 5:15When his sister and her family finally arrive, he greets her
- 5:19with the news and in order to continue with the move in, they
- 5:23have to call an exterminator. Upon his arrival, he too
- 5:27confirms the oddity of the situation.
- 5:30He said that he had never seen so many bees and flies in one
- 5:34spot in a home, and given this time of year, it was not normal
- 5:38for them to swarm or infest anything during this time.
- 5:43It takes some time, but after he finishes clearing them out, the
- 5:47family is finally able to get moved in.
- 5:50As time progresses, things seem to fit the dreams they had for
- 5:54moving there in the 1st place. The family finally seems at
- 5:58peace that we're getting along better and enjoying each other's
- 6:03company. A far departure from their city
- 6:05life in Buffalo. But as the old adage goes, if it
- 6:09seems too good to be true, it is.
- 6:14A few weeks into living and what they believed was going to be
- 6:17their rural paradise, their son Mike has met and made friends
- 6:22with a nearby neighbor. Together, they begin to explore
- 6:25the woods surrounding the Dandy property.
- 6:28As the two navigate the forest, they're startled when they hear
- 6:32the crunching of leaves directly in front of them.
- 6:36Stopping frozen in their tracks and fearing that it could be a
- 6:40bear, they take refuge behind a large tree and sneak glimpses
- 6:45from around its sides to figure out just what it could be.
- 6:50To their shock, they spot a boy not much older than them
- 6:54carrying a rifle and walking in the path ahead.
- 6:58Yelling at the boy that this is private property and wanting to
- 7:02know what he was doing there, they run towards him and try to
- 7:06catch up to him. They again freeze in their
- 7:08tracks when they notice that not only is the boy transparent the
- 7:12closer they get, but half of his head is missing.
- 7:18As the figure continues to walk and taking deep breaths, they
- 7:23slowly continue to follow him. The three approach a small lake.
- 7:28Within the blink of an eye, the boy vanishes.
- 7:32Mike and his friend are at a loss for words and have no
- 7:36explanation for what they saw. They quickly rush back to the
- 7:40Dandy house as fast as they can to tell anyone who will listen
- 7:44to them. They soon make contact with
- 7:47Clara and explain to her what took place, but she's quick to
- 7:51dismiss their experience as nothing more than overactive
- 7:55imaginations. Another several weeks pass by
- 8:00and Clara has all but forgotten about what her son had told her.
- 8:04She's now walking the family dog, Madison, in the woods for
- 8:08some fresh air and exercise. As they get deeper into the
- 8:12forest, Clara starts to hear what can only be described as
- 8:17chanting. As she stops to listen, it
- 8:21sounds eerie and disembodied, as if the sound is all around her
- 8:27but has no true origin. It's at this time that Madison
- 8:32begins growling and barking. The longer she seems to focus on
- 8:37the chanting, the louder it seems to become.
- 8:42Madison by this point is losing her mind and breaks free from a
- 8:46distracted Clara and bolts in the direction of their home.
- 8:50Clara chases her down and she finally stops running when she
- 8:54makes it to the front door of their estate.
- 8:57After taking a moment to collect herself, Clara then calls her
- 9:01husband, who, like she was to her son, was quick to dismiss
- 9:05her feelings, thinking that she just had to adjust to rural life
- 9:10and wasn't used to it being so different from their life in the
- 9:13city. Frustrated and worried now about
- 9:16what the chanting could have been, Clara talks with her son
- 9:20about her experience while she prepares dinner for the family.
- 9:25Mike thinks that it could have been some campers at a nearby
- 9:27campground not too far from where their property line ends
- 9:31that could have been the cause of the strange sounds.
- 9:34To try and put his mother at ease, he and his friend Matt
- 9:37once again take to the woods to explore this possibility.
- 9:41As they venture further into the woods to lookout point towards
- 9:45the campsite, they see nothing. There are no signs of any
- 9:50campers that could be nearby enough to have caused such a
- 9:53noise. Even more perplexed now that
- 9:57there was no explanation, the boys start to make their way
- 10:00back to the house when suddenly they hear what sounds like an
- 10:06axe thudding into a tree right next to them, unsure of what
- 10:10that noise could have been. Before they could even begin to
- 10:13ponder or investigate, they hear a woman screaming to their left.
- 10:19This frightens them so bad, but the two young men run as fast as
- 10:23they can all the way back to the Dandy's home.
- 10:27When they arrive, Mike is truly scared this time.
- 10:31He has no way of explaining his mother's experience or any of
- 10:35his own either. Upon relaying this information
- 10:39to Clara, both of them are left beside themselves now with a
- 10:44chill up both of their spines. But these weird events thus far
- 10:49would only intensify as the sands of time continue to
- 10:53trickle into the hourglass. It has now been months since the
- 10:58initial experiences, and besides the oddities they were, the
- 11:04family's life continues to be great.
- 11:07This distance from the experiences only makes them ever
- 11:10easier to dismiss in the minds of Clara and Mike.
- 11:15One day, Phil or Mr. Dandy decides to take the children,
- 11:20Mike and Tina, into Buffalo for the day to get some errands
- 11:24done. Mostly being a homebody, Clara
- 11:27decides to forgo the trip with her family and relax at home
- 11:31reading her latest book instead. When her family departs, Clara
- 11:36finds herself curled up on the couch and immersed in her latest
- 11:40story as a warm breeze drifts through the open windows of the
- 11:44house. As she reads page to page, she
- 11:48is suddenly startled when the window closest to her slams
- 11:52shut. Upon investigating, it makes no
- 11:56sense to her because the breeze was light, not forceful at all,
- 12:01and their windows were fairly new, which made it all the
- 12:05stranger. But as she always does, she
- 12:09dismisses the happening as nothing more than a weird
- 12:12coincidence and heads back to her book.
- 12:16Several nights later, as Mike lay asleep in his bed, he's
- 12:21suddenly woken up when a nearby box of a chess game drops onto
- 12:25his chest. The storage shelf is directly
- 12:29above his head, so opening his eyes he glances up to see if
- 12:34perhaps it could have been hanging too far off the edge,
- 12:37causing it to fall. And to his shock, he begins to
- 12:42see several more boxes slowly shifting towards the edge by
- 12:47themselves. The lowest one then suddenly
- 12:51flies out from the rest and smacks him in the chest.
- 12:56Terrified, he sits up, trying to catch his breath.
- 13:00He has no way of explaining how the lowest box could be pulled
- 13:04and thrown with such force without bringing the rest of the
- 13:08boxes with it, as if someone or something had grabbed and thrown
- 13:14it by a will of its own. Calling out to his mom in the
- 13:18darkness, she soon arrives in the doorway of his room.
- 13:22Being a very science and logic minded person, Mike has no way
- 13:27to explain what has happened. Examining the pile, Clara too is
- 13:32perplexed and becomes just as scared when another box from a
- 13:36different pile flies across the room, causing both of them to
- 13:41scream in terror and run out as fast as possible.
- 13:46Trying to make sense of what was taking place, Clara fears that
- 13:50whatever could be lurking in the woods has been stalking her
- 13:54family and has slowly but surely, like a malignant stain,
- 14:01invaded her home. As her fears turned into a
- 14:04revelation, Claire decides to reach out to a local priest for
- 14:09help, hoping her faith will help her come up with some answers
- 14:13and better yet, some solutions. She speaks with a priest named
- 14:19Father Alphonsus at the University of Saint Bonaventure.
- 14:23He believes that the activity could be a poltergeist, but
- 14:27given the intelligent nature of how it seemed to be behaving,
- 14:31Clara has her doubts, but nonetheless, once an expert's
- 14:35opinion and assistance. So arrangements are made for the
- 14:40Father to come out and bless the home, and after several days he
- 14:45arrives. On April 13th, 1975, the
- 14:51cleansing begins. As the family and the priest
- 14:55were all gathered together, and as he began to speak, a series
- 15:00of horrible wailing and moaning noises began to fill the home as
- 15:06if the house itself was crying. The scent of burning matter also
- 15:12quickly enveloped the house. The activity reached a fever
- 15:17pitch when the priest opened and began to pray over the crawl
- 15:21space that was underneath the stairs.
- 15:24But after this, a blissful silence overtook them all.
- 15:29It was if whatever entities that dwelled within the walls of the
- 15:33dandies home had finally been evicted.
- 15:37Within time, the father gathered his things, exchanged
- 15:41pleasantries and departed for the evening.
- 15:45The family now believed that their darkest days were behind
- 15:48them, and for all intents and purposes, that seemed to be the
- 15:52case. But as if to mock the Holy
- 15:55Trinity itself, three months later to the day, all hell would
- 16:01break loose once again. That night, while her husband is
- 16:06away on a business trip, Clara finds herself woken up out of a
- 16:10dead sleep by a series of knocks coming from inside the walls.
- 16:16The knocks themselves are soon accompanied with whispers from
- 16:21someone that she can't see. As she apprehensively makes her
- 16:25way from her room and slowly down the stairs headed towards
- 16:29the main level, the apparition of a young girl begins to walk
- 16:34by the stairs. She slowly makes her way to the
- 16:38crawl space, opens the door and closes it behind her.
- 16:44Clara's baffled at the sight. After gathering up her courage,
- 16:49she too makes her way fully down the stairs into the crawl space
- 16:55and after a moment of bracing herself, she opens the door and
- 16:59went to be met with nothing. Claire then makes her way to her
- 17:05daughter Tina's room to make sure it somehow wasn't.
- 17:08Her, and perhaps her nerves were just on edge, but after opening
- 17:13her door she finds her fast asleep in her bed with no signs
- 17:18that she had been awake for some time.
- 17:21The following morning, while the rest of her family is still
- 17:24asleep, Tina wakes up to begin her day.
- 17:29As she feeds her pet bird in its cage and begins to brush her
- 17:32hair in her Oval mirror, she notices that her bird isn't
- 17:37doing its usual whistles. As she glances over at them, she
- 17:42finds it staring into the. Corner of the room.
- 17:45As Tina glances back up at the mirror, she's met with the
- 17:49apparition of a young girl. Her face is sunk in and her eyes
- 17:56were gone. She.
- 17:57Screams in terror and just as quickly as it appeared, the
- 18:02apparition disappears. The screams of her daughter
- 18:06startles and quickly summons Clara to her daughter's room.
- 18:10As she consoles Tina, she realizes that the priest's
- 18:13blessings were ineffective. She quickly calls Father Al back
- 18:19and explains what had taken place the previous night and
- 18:23that morning, and although he is busy, he promises to come back
- 18:28as soon as possible and this time to bring a paranormal
- 18:32expert with him as well to help him determine the cause and
- 18:36hopefully find a working solution.
- 18:39He's able to come back the following week.
- 18:42In the meantime, Clara's determined to keep her family
- 18:45calm. If she can control her own
- 18:48emotions, she knows that everything else will be OK.
- 18:53As they wait for the priest to return, Claire tries her best to
- 18:56keep her family calm and live some sort of a normal existence.
- 19:02That weekend, her and Phil are watching a movie while Mike and
- 19:06Tina are out with friends. As they enjoy their time
- 19:10together, their happiness is quickly shattered by a huge
- 19:14crashing noise coming from outside of their house.
- 19:18Quickly grabbing a flashlight and running outside to
- 19:21investigate together, they quietly stepped towards where
- 19:25they believed the noise to be originating from.
- 19:28And suddenly they hear it again. But this time, thankfully for
- 19:34them, the origin is not paranormal.
- 19:39This time, there's several raccoons who happened to be
- 19:42forging through their metal trash cans for something to eat.
- 19:47Relieved for that moment, they start to make their way back to
- 19:50the house when they suddenly see the figure of a young girl in
- 19:55their living room window, staring at them as they rush
- 20:00inside. They run up into Tina's room,
- 20:03where they find her incoherent and staring into her Oval
- 20:07mirror. They try to get her attention,
- 20:11but she's entirely unresponsive. Her pale blue eyes.
- 20:16Or Black. Panicking, they shake her and
- 20:20yell her name, not knowing what else to do when she eventually
- 20:24comes back. In that moment, and later, Tina
- 20:29will not recall how she got home or what exactly happened.
- 20:34As the family tries to gather themselves from the shock of
- 20:38what had just taken place, they hear movement coming from Mike's
- 20:43room. Phil tells his family not to
- 20:45leave Tina's room. As he rushes to investigate,
- 20:50however, the home phone begins to ring.
- 20:55It's Mike. He's asking if he can stay the
- 20:57night at his friend Randy's house.
- 21:00However, when told what was going on, he quickly tells her
- 21:04that he's coming home to help in any way that he can.
- 21:08Rushing to his car, Randy offers to come with him, to which Mike
- 21:12agrees. Randy would later recount that
- 21:15Mike's hands were sweating and he was shaking, gripping the
- 21:19steering wheel. He was pale.
- 21:22I asked him what was wrong, and he said that things were
- 21:25happening at the house that he couldn't explain.
- 21:29The boys quickly arrived to find the family in chaos.
- 21:33Phil is prepared to do battle with whatever forces within the
- 21:36house and the girls are staying close to one another, attempting
- 21:41to comfort each other. As they try to determine a
- 21:44course of action, all the lights in the house go out.
- 21:49They then begin to hear banging and scratching coming from the
- 21:54crawl space. Flashlights still in hand, fill
- 21:58with the backup of his family shines the light.
- 22:01Towards it and. Begins to make his way towards
- 22:04whatever this thing is. It seems like with each step he
- 22:08takes, the sounds become louder, and after a tense several
- 22:13seconds, he opens the door to the crawl space.
- 22:17Inside, they find that the fireplace that was once there
- 22:21has been completely disassembled.
- 22:24Its bricks have now been stacked in an elaborate pile directly in
- 22:28the middle of the small room. The amount of.
- 22:31Effort and strength required to perform such a task convinces
- 22:36all of them that whatever they're dealing with is strong,
- 22:40persistent. And perhaps uncleansable.
- 22:45Nonetheless, with their spirits waning, Claire makes a desperate
- 22:49call to Father Al, who agrees to come earlier than originally
- 22:53planned and makes emergency arrangements for himself and his
- 22:57paranormal expert of a friend to come out that night.
- 23:01They arrive as soon as possible. The paranormal expert is a man
- 23:06by the name of Alex Tennis, a well respected paranormal
- 23:10researcher. And psychic whose abilities were
- 23:14studied at the American Society of Psychic Research.
- 23:19Together they make their way to the door of the Dandy.
- 23:21House, hoping to help rid this family of whatever seems to be
- 23:26stalking them. After being let in, the family
- 23:29quickly leads the pair to the crawl space to show them just
- 23:33what they were talking about. Although he was aware that some
- 23:36sort of activity was taking place, Alex had not been given
- 23:40any additional details or information in regards to the
- 23:44home, its history, or happenings.
- 23:48As he steps into the crawlspace room, he begins to have a
- 23:51vision. In his vision, he sees multiple
- 23:55dead bodies stacked within the crawlspace itself.
- 23:59After the vision subsides, Alex begins to explain to the family
- 24:03what he saw. He believed that many had passed
- 24:07away within the home itself, some of natural causes and some
- 24:12of murder. It was his conviction that based
- 24:15on what he saw, that the house used to be a stopping point for
- 24:19a Stagecoach or perhaps some kind of inn where people would
- 24:23stay the night before departing the following morning.
- 24:26It was also his belief that there was a nearby criminal or
- 24:30gang of criminals that would often rob and kill nearby
- 24:34travellers, and that perhaps these souls somehow became
- 24:38trapped. Here.
- 24:39When someone passed or was found dead nearby, being the only
- 24:43stopping point in the area, their bodies would be placed in
- 24:47the crawl space until they could receive a proper.
- 24:50Burial. It was also his belief that
- 24:53there were seven different spirits that were trapped within
- 24:56the home. All together with this
- 24:58revelation, the family, Alex and the father pray that the trapped
- 25:04spirits within the home find peace and be released so that
- 25:08they may go on to their final destination.
- 25:11Upon the pair's departure, Clara once again has renewed hope.
- 25:16The home, as it did the first time around, seemed to be
- 25:19cleansed and to be more peaceful.
- 25:22Meanwhile, Mike and his friend Randy were skeptical of.
- 25:26Alex's conclusions after he left.
- 25:29They used an old map of the area to trace where he had said the
- 25:33old Stagecoach route was. They did indeed find what they
- 25:37believed to be an old trail that could have been used for such a
- 25:40thing, and the trail passed right by the Dandy home.
- 25:45But during their search, as they were following the trail out and
- 25:48headed back to the house, they experienced strangeness of their
- 25:52own. As they began to trace the
- 25:54trail, they began to see what they described as orbs of light
- 25:58in the nearby trees, and these orbs began to come at them.
- 26:03Randy, having never seen or experienced anything
- 26:07supernatural before, began to have a panic attack upon
- 26:11arriving at the house. They were fortunately able to
- 26:14get him calmed down. By this point it was late in the
- 26:18night and the entire family needed to try and get some form
- 26:22of sleep in order to function the following day.
- 26:25Randy ended up staying the night since he had rode with Mike.
- 26:30Once everyone else was settled down for the night and fast
- 26:32asleep, Clara sat by herself weeping.
- 26:38She felt that her and her family were helpless in the situation
- 26:42and that all efforts have been exhausted and that they needed
- 26:45to move. The only problem was that all
- 26:48their money, every last dime, had been sunk into the house,
- 26:53leaving them stranded. She would continue to
- 26:56contemplate the future and would cry herself to sleep that night.
- 27:01The following morning, as the family began to wake up and
- 27:05start to try and resume some form of normalcy, Mike went
- 27:09ahead and departed with Randy to take him home.
- 27:12Several hours would go by and Mike hadn't returned.
- 27:16Finally, there was a knock on the door.
- 27:19It was a police officer. He informed the family that
- 27:23there had been an accident, that they needed to head to the
- 27:26hospital as soon as possible. Rushing into the car into the
- 27:30hospital, the Dandy family wondered just what had happened.
- 27:34There had been no mention of Randy by the officer at the
- 27:37time. Upon arriving, they were briefed
- 27:41that Mike had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a
- 27:44nearby ditch. He was now undergoing emergency
- 27:48surgery, He had extensive head injuries, A ruptured spleen that
- 27:53may have to be removed, and that he had lost a very significant
- 27:57amount of blood. As they waited for the outcome
- 28:00of their son's surgery, the dandies were once again greeted
- 28:04by the officer who had knocked on their door.
- 28:07He explained to them that Randy had indeed been dropped.
- 28:09Off. And that Mike had wrecked on his
- 28:12way back to the Dandy residence, but as he was being loaded into
- 28:16the ambulance, he kept saying that there was another person in
- 28:19the. Car with him.
- 28:21Although they believed him to be confused on account of his
- 28:24injuries, they went ahead and searched the area nonetheless,
- 28:28but another person was never found.
- 28:31After two weeks of being in a coma, Mike finally wakes up, but
- 28:36unfortunately has no recollection as to what exactly
- 28:40happened to him to cause the accident.
- 28:43Clara, however. Believes that whatever presence
- 28:46that's been plugging their lives had to have been responsible for
- 28:50what happened to her son. After months of recovery for
- 28:54Mike and continued paranormal activity within the home, Father
- 28:59Alphonsus would return with Alex one last and final time at
- 29:04Claire's request to try and rid the home of the evil and
- 29:08persistent force that had drained the life out of all of
- 29:11them for years now. However, this time just the
- 29:16Father and Alex would perform the cleansing inside the home
- 29:20themselves. As they moved from room to room,
- 29:24Alex would once again experience multiple visions of the past.
- 29:29His visions would tell him that of the seven spirits who he
- 29:32believed to be within the house, 1 was that of a young man who
- 29:37had been in some kind of a war or battle near where the
- 29:40property sits now. Another was that of a young girl
- 29:44who had passed from some sort of very painful illness in what was
- 29:48now Tina's room. And there was another spirit
- 29:52that seemed to be keeping herself and others trapped
- 29:55within the house. It was the spirit of a woman who
- 29:59was incredibly angry and resentful.
- 30:02She continued to be possessive, depressive and just as angry and
- 30:07death as she was in life, Refusing to pass on.
- 30:12Believing what they had identified to be the source of
- 30:15the paranormal activity, Father Al decided to take a different
- 30:19approach to the cleansing itself.
- 30:22Although an exorcism cannot be performed on a place, but rather
- 30:26has to be performed on an individual, the rights
- 30:29themselves could in. Theory be performed or added to
- 30:33a series of prayers. To try and use their strong
- 30:36cleansing powers to clear out a home such as this one.
- 30:40So that's exactly what the Father did.
- 30:43He began to perform the rites of exorcism within the house
- 30:47itself. As the prayers began to exit his
- 30:50lips varying with intensity as the rights often do, the home
- 30:55began to literally shake. And the horrific moaning and
- 30:59wailing that had made itself present in the very first
- 31:03cleansing seemed to return with a vengeance.
- 31:07Every horrible feeling, banging, knocking and scratching noise
- 31:12that the family had experienced thus.
- 31:14Far. Was present and seemed to be
- 31:17magnified. It takes hours, but eventually
- 31:21the rides are finished as the dust settles, so to speak, The
- 31:26home seems peaceful and blissful, like it did when the
- 31:30family had first visited and decided to buy the home.
- 31:34And again, for three more months, the family lives in
- 31:38peace. But like the persistent force
- 31:41that has manifested itself to be, the haunting begins again.
- 31:46The Dandy family, despite their best efforts, simply cannot take
- 31:50it anymore, decide to cut their losses and move.
- 31:55Unable to find a buyer for their house, they eventually declare
- 32:00bankruptcy. Shortly after this, Phil and.
- 32:03Clara would also divorce. Bringing a sad and bitter end to
- 32:08what was supposed to be a rural redemption for the Dandy family.
- 32:14However, this wouldn't be the end of the story of the Hinsdale
- 32:18house. Eventually, the home would come
- 32:21into the possession of Daniel Klaus, who currently owns it.
- 32:26Daniel's a renowned paranormal investigator and has been
- 32:30involved with the likes of Nick Roth and has made appearances on
- 32:34tons of national TV programs centered around the paranormal
- 32:38over the years. Having been raised in a haunted
- 32:42house, this led to a lifelong fascination with the Paranormal
- 32:46Forum. After years of restoration, it
- 32:49is now available for both investigations and tours and is
- 32:54still considered a very active paranormal portal and is kept
- 32:58open as a paranormal research location.
- 33:02It's even staged in the 1970s period to maintain the integrity
- 33:07of when the hauntings were initially known to have began.
- 33:11But now that we know the back story of the 20th and into the
- 33:1421st century of the Hensdale house, just who owned it, what
- 33:18happened to them and who owns it now?
- 33:21I would like to shift your attention to some of the
- 33:24plausible theories as. To what could have caused the
- 33:27haunting? Many theories of what could have
- 33:29caused the haunting have been formed over the years by the
- 33:32many people who have researched and have been interested in the
- 33:36case. One theory is that the home was
- 33:39built on top of an Indian burial mound.
- 33:42This of course could have disturbed the spirits of the
- 33:44natives that rested within the land, and although tribes who
- 33:48used this method of burial were present in the area back in
- 33:51history, there's little to no evidence to support this claim.
- 33:56But perhaps any evidence by this point could have long since been
- 34:00lost to the sands of time or could have been removed when the
- 34:04home was initially built. Another theory is that the home
- 34:08was at one point used as a Stagecoach in and passer bys
- 34:12were murdered either near or within the home itself, leading
- 34:16to their spirits being trapped within the home or on its land.
- 34:21Although there is evidence that a Stagecoach route did run very
- 34:24close to the home, there isn't direct evidence that the house
- 34:28itself was used as an inn, but it is possible murders also did
- 34:33take place in or around the area in which the home is now
- 34:36located, which could lend credence to the theories of
- 34:40criminals robbing and murdering people along the Stagecoach
- 34:43route. An old family from the area that
- 34:46used to own the home with the last name of McMahon also lends
- 34:51credence to the home being used as an inn.
- 34:53At some point. The now past grandfather of the
- 34:56family used to tell stories of a road that passed by the house or
- 35:01stagecoaches traveled. Another theory is that one or
- 35:06several of the spirits were trapped as a result of hangings
- 35:10that took place there. The now famous hanging tree that
- 35:14sits near the residence was indeed used for executions for a
- 35:18time. Most famously, it seems, was the
- 35:21execution of a woman named Elizabeth.
- 35:24Elizabeth was pregnant. Could this perhaps be the spirit
- 35:29of the woman who was angry and refusing to leave?
- 35:33Other events, such as a homicide that took place in the year 2000
- 35:38near the house, as well as a buzz saw incident that led to a
- 35:42boy's death, have led many to believe that whatever haunts the
- 35:46area could indeed still be there and influencing our.
- 35:50World. It's important in my opinion to
- 35:54try and get the story and the facts as straight as possible,
- 35:58not only for the current owners benefit, but for the dandies who
- 36:02have suffered greatly as a result of their story becoming
- 36:05public, especially towards the end of their time at the
- 36:08property. As word got out that something
- 36:11strange was taking place at the house, a local paper ended up
- 36:15reaching out to the dandies for a statement.
- 36:17Thinking that they were accepting an opportunity for
- 36:20additional outside help, they gave their story only to be met
- 36:24with ridicule from the paper, which in turn led to ridicule
- 36:28from the public and nearby residents.
- 36:31Which this combined with the paranormal torment they were
- 36:34experiencing along with then having to file bankruptcy and
- 36:38then later divorce. In my opinion, they suffered
- 36:42greatly and did not benefit from the story especially during that
- 36:47time. The only benefit I've seen could
- 36:50be from Clara Miller, formerly Clara Dandy.
- 36:54Who would eventually write a? Book known as Echoes of a
- 36:56Haunting. But to be.
- 36:58Fair. If I experienced even a portion
- 37:01of what she did, I would eventually write a book to
- 37:03catalog what happened as well. Not only for some monetary
- 37:07benefit, of course, but for my own sanity really.
- 37:12So as I've began to mention and will continue to mention again
- 37:16in the future. If you ever.
- 37:17Encounter anyone mentioned in this video or any of my other
- 37:21videos, whether it be in person or online, please be respectful
- 37:26of them and their experiences and do not ever harass anyone.
- 37:31And if you find yourself seemingly handed an opportunity
- 37:35that seems too good to be true the answer to your prayers, it's
- 37:40more than likely not the case. It could be a nightmare waiting
- 37:44to happen. It could be a haunted home
- 37:47infested with entities sitting and waiting for the perfect
- 37:51victim. Don't let it be you.
- 37:56Could an item, if given enough energy, devotion and focus,
- 38:01begin to take on a life of its own?
- 38:03Could it begin to exhibit human like characteristics as if it
- 38:08has been imbued with or contains some kind of soul or entity
- 38:13inside of it? This act of magic has been
- 38:15practiced by multiple religions and.
- 38:18Cults throughout the ages. This is just one very strange
- 38:22example that it could indeed be possible after a gracious gift
- 38:27was placed into the arms of a little.
- 38:29Girl. Tragedy would strike and what
- 38:32follows would continue to haunt the family, the citizens of the
- 38:36village, and would soon cross far beyond the barriers of land
- 38:41and sea. This is the untold story of
- 38:44Akiku, the haunted Japanese doll and the bizarre paranormal force
- 38:51that possessed it. Japan is a very mystical and
- 39:02spiritual place, a place where the souls of the past seem to
- 39:07interact with the living. Such places where the spiritual
- 39:12energy seems to be most visible is throughout many of Japan's
- 39:16spiritual temples, home to many religions, the two main ones
- 39:21being Buddhism and Shintoism. Thousands of temples exist all
- 39:27over the country, but one in particular houses a spiritual
- 39:31artifact that has a tragic back story and an even more
- 39:35terrifying story that continues to be written to this day.
- 39:40Located in Hokkaido, Japan at the Menenji Buddhist Temple is a
- 39:45doll with a bizarre and tragic back story indeed, although
- 39:50there are several origin stories of how the doll came to be and
- 39:54how the temple became its final living.
- 39:56Space, so to speak. All of them have most of the
- 40:00main details in common, therefore I'll be telling the
- 40:04most agreed upon origin story to try and be as true to the legend
- 40:09as I can. The years 1918 in Hokkaido,
- 40:13Japan. And a 17 year old boy by the
- 40:17name of Ikiki Suzuki is in search of a gift for his little
- 40:21sister's birthday. As he pursues the different
- 40:25vendors and small shops, something soon catches his
- 40:29attention and one of the store windows.
- 40:32He spots a small, childlike doll wearing a traditional Japanese
- 40:37kimono. Knowing that he had finally
- 40:39found something his sister will love, the Kiki quickly purchases
- 40:44the doll and makes his way back home through the countryside.
- 40:48As the family celebrates their little girl's birthday, Okiku is
- 40:53presented with the doll and almost immediately, as soon as
- 40:57her eyes meet hers, she falls in love with it.
- 41:01The two from this point, become inseparable.
- 41:04Wherever Okiku is, her doll is right by her side.
- 41:09She Combs her hair, bathes her, addresses her, and treats her as
- 41:14if she was her little sister. The two even share meals and
- 41:19sleep side by side. The joy that the doll brought
- 41:22Akiku must have filled Ekiki's heart with such happiness.
- 41:27But soon, that happiness would change to tragedy.
- 41:32One hot day, as the little girl played outside with her doll,
- 41:36she was bitten by a mosquito. This benign insect bite would
- 41:40soon manifest itself into a horrible case of malaria.
- 41:45Although the family did everything they could possibly
- 41:48do, Okiku would pass away scared and gasping for air as she
- 41:54clutched her special doll all the way until the moment she
- 41:57took her last breath devastated the Suzuki's plan to have their
- 42:02little girl buried. With the doll.
- 42:04Since she loved it so much, but unfortunately, due to either
- 42:09governmental or religious oversight at the time, this
- 42:12wasn't an option. Instead, after they had laid a
- 42:16kiku to rest, the doll would be placed on a small family shrine
- 42:20located within the living quarters of their home as a
- 42:24tribute of sorts to their late daughter and their love for her.
- 42:28But shortly after the doll was placed on the shrine, very
- 42:32strange things began to happen. A Kiki, upon walking past the
- 42:36shrine one day, noticed that the dolls hair seemed significantly
- 42:40longer than what it had been when it was placed there.
- 42:44The hair which was originally shoulders length on the doll
- 42:47itself and black was now overgrown with differing shades
- 42:53of brown hair also coming through and splitting at the
- 42:56ends. Finding this bizarre to say the
- 42:59least, he brought the discovery to his parents attention and
- 43:03unsure of what else to do, they trimmed the dolls hair as the
- 43:08days came and when the family began to have distressing dreams
- 43:11at night of their departed Okiku.
- 43:14Sometimes she would be scared and alone in the darkness,
- 43:18calling out to them, only being recognized by her voice.
- 43:23Other times she would blame them for what happened to her.
- 43:27Each member of the family at differing times had these dreams
- 43:31and they would soon lead all of them to believe.
- 43:34That. Akiku's soul wasn't peacefully
- 43:36resting. These disturbing dreams soon
- 43:39became all the stranger when the doll, which they began to refer
- 43:43to as Akiku and their daughter's honor, would appear by their
- 43:48bedsides following these nightmares.
- 43:52One such incident involved the father of the family waking up
- 43:56in a cold sweat only to be met face to face with a blank and
- 44:02lifeless stare of the doll. Unsure of what was taking place,
- 44:07the Suzuki's turn to their faith.
- 44:10After contacting a local Buddhist priest and having a
- 44:13cleansing ritual be performed on their home and the doll, the
- 44:18activity seemed to grow and become stronger.
- 44:22Accompanying their ever frequent nightmares and random movements
- 44:26of the doll, the chilling events grew into full blown spiritual
- 44:30manifestations during their waking life.
- 44:33They soon began to hear banging noises all throughout the house
- 44:37and the whispers of a little girl.
- 44:41Strange disembodied voices varying from high pitched like
- 44:45those of a child to the low groans of something
- 44:49unexplainable began to be heard. Their lights began to flicker on
- 44:54and off, and the paranormal activity seemed to happen more
- 44:58frequently as the calendar ticked closer to the birth and
- 45:03death dates of Akiku. These strange and terrifying
- 45:07happenings would continue over the course of the next 20 years,
- 45:12with multiple religious, priests and shamans being contacted and
- 45:17all coming to the same conclusion that after the
- 45:19cleansings failed time and time again, that the restless spirit
- 45:23of Akiku now inhabited the doll she once loved so much.
- 45:29Finally needing a major change and unable to deal with the ever
- 45:33intensifying spiritual presence that seemed to haunt their home,
- 45:38the Suzuki's relocated to a different district.
- 45:42Believing the doll to be the source of their various ailments
- 45:45and emotional torture that they had endured over the last two
- 45:49decades, they had no desire to take it with them.
- 45:53The family had reached the conclusion that if their
- 45:55daughter's soul wasn't at peace, what could perhaps be helping to
- 45:59fuel Akiku's power or magic was the close proximity of her grave
- 46:04to their home where the doll resided.
- 46:07So in order to distance the doll from the grave, the family
- 46:11approached the Meninge Buddhist Temple in Hokkaido, and over the
- 46:15years, the Dahl's reputation for being haunted had spread
- 46:19throughout the community and indeed the majority of the
- 46:22country. This was more than likely due to
- 46:25the various interactions between the spiritual community and the
- 46:29Suzuki family, finding the Dahl to be mesmerizing and possibly a
- 46:33unique opportunity to commute and interact with the.
- 46:37Dead if the stories were true. The leaders and priests of the
- 46:41Meninge temple agreed to home Okiku permanently.
- 46:45As with many legends, we find lots of details to be
- 46:49exaggerated over time and perhaps some of the details to
- 46:53not be true at all. And this is what the priests
- 46:56were originally thinking, that perhaps due to grief, the family
- 47:00was dealing with other spiritual ailments perhaps unrelated to
- 47:04the doll, or causing the doll to be a vessel of sorts for
- 47:09restless spirits. However, as the years came and
- 47:12when as Akiku now called the temple her home, they began to
- 47:16slowly but surely experience the same strangeness the Suzuki's
- 47:22had. For all of those years.
- 47:24Akiku's hair continued to grow and this baffled the priests.
- 47:29They would eventually have the hair trimmed and tested, and the
- 47:33hair was said to belong to a little girl.
- 47:37They found that the entity seemed to be appeased when her
- 47:39hair was trimmed and combed, and this led to less activity for a
- 47:44time. But the same activity?
- 47:47The knocking, banging, and disembodied voices which soon
- 47:52plagued the temple as well. No, Kiku's power only seemed to
- 47:57grow. Any priest who seemed skeptical
- 48:00of the doll or attempted to cleanse it themselves soon had
- 48:04their dreams haunted as well, turning their sleep into
- 48:07restless fits. Their homes and rooms soon also
- 48:12began to manifest the very same activity that the temple was now
- 48:16exhibiting. With no remedy seeming to work,
- 48:20the leaders turned to appeasement instead, hoping that
- 48:23gestures of goodwill would keep the entity at Bay.
- 48:27As years turn to decades, and as we've come into the 21st
- 48:31century, the priests of multiple generations now have overseen
- 48:36and cared for the Dahl known as Akiku.
- 48:39And though some of the more violent activity has faded, the
- 48:43general consensus is that she is now just as powerful as she was,
- 48:47or is perhaps more powerful as she's continued to age.
- 48:52It seems like as the more her fame and notoriety grows, the
- 48:56more visitors she has, the stronger she becomes.
- 49:01She continues to invade the dreams of those who come to
- 49:03visit her, and her hair is growing faster and more frayed.
- 49:09She's said to drive Taurus mad who doubt her, with many people
- 49:13even reporting that besides seeing her strange hair and
- 49:17feeling a malevolent presence when visiting.
- 49:19Her. They've also had her stalk.
- 49:22And appear in their dreams. Some more disturbing and recent
- 49:26reports have even suggested that her mouth is slowly opening and
- 49:31that if you dare to appear inside of it, you may just catch
- 49:34a glimpse of baby like teeth sprouting from her porcelain
- 49:38gums. As if whoever or whatever she is
- 49:43is slowly turning to flesh and bone.
- 49:48The paranormal displays of her power continue to occur as well.
- 49:52Her permanent home, located within the menaging temple is
- 49:55her own private shrine where she sits in a small wooden box on
- 49:59display. It is here that she watches and
- 50:03waits for anyone and everyone who dares to play with fire and
- 50:09invoke the power of the entity known as Okiku.
- 50:14But what are your thoughts? Was a Kiku the girl?
- 50:17Trapped inside of the doll. In my opinion, although her
- 50:21spirit would be much older now, at the time of her death she was
- 50:25either close to or was three years old, and no person at that
- 50:29age is capable of true malice to the point to where she would
- 50:33become aware enough to begin to blame her parents and then
- 50:37torment them for decades to come as children.
- 50:41Our parents or our family or our entire.
- 50:44World. So I find it incredibly
- 50:46difficult to think that these bizarre happenings were the
- 50:50result of her soul being restless and imbuing the doll.
- 50:54What I find more likely, and all the more interesting really, is
- 50:58the thought of invocation or the imbuing of the doll like a
- 51:02conduit. Or a vessel of sorts.
- 51:05Akiku, the girl, was, as they said, inseparable from the
- 51:09stall. She fed it, bathed it, took naps
- 51:13with it and everything else a small child would do with that
- 51:17wonderful imagination that they have.
- 51:19But could all of this dedication and focus, accompanied with the
- 51:23tragedy that took place, allow for?
- 51:26A portal to. Open for an entity, whether non
- 51:29human or a restless human spirit to inhabit the doll.
- 51:34And by non human I mean a demon. This would make sense to me.
- 51:39Something that enjoys and grows more powerful off of pain and
- 51:42misfortune or the emotional torment of others.
- 51:46As it causes the pain, it feeds off of it and grows ever
- 51:50stronger. This would not only explain the
- 51:53malevolent manifestations of whatever entity is present, but
- 51:57would also explain the still present force and the alleged
- 52:01ever growing power of it. And depending on the entity's
- 52:04strength, it could also explain why the cleansings thus far have
- 52:09failed. However, if you find yourself
- 52:12taking a trip to Japan anytime soon, or you happen to call
- 52:16Japan home if you find yourself in Hokkaido, you may want to
- 52:20steer clear of the Menajin Temple.
- 52:23Because if you don't, the entity that inhabits the doll known as
- 52:27a Kiku may just use you as its next feeding source, where it'll
- 52:33begin to plague your dreams, making you twist and turn, sweat
- 52:39and fear. As it grows ever stronger and
- 52:43attempts to cross from its world into ours, making our plane of
- 52:49existence its permanent residence, an unsuspecting
- 52:54family finds what they. Believe to be the perfect home.
- 52:58But underneath the facade of this charming farmhouse, there
- 53:02is a sinister force, dark as the abyss.
- 53:07Lying underneath the heavy fog upon the land, there lies
- 53:11generations of graves. These graves could hold the key
- 53:16to solving their paranormal nightmare.
- 53:19This is the untold story of the old Arnold Estate, also known as
- 53:24The Conjuring House, and the demonic forces that dwell within
- 53:29it. Harrisville, RI A small town
- 53:49located on America's East Coast with just a population of an
- 53:53estimated 1800 people. Like many towns across the
- 53:57country, you could easily overlook this one at face value.
- 54:02But it's when we take a deeper look, we discover that this
- 54:05little town has a dark history. Its story is filled with death,
- 54:12from murders to drownings and much more.
- 54:16With all these unfortunate happenings in mind, it makes one
- 54:19beg the question, could there be something evil that stalks this
- 54:24place? Something that feeds upon
- 54:26suffering and misery? Perhaps there is, and perhaps
- 54:31that is what contributed to the creation of the following story.
- 54:37It all starts in Central Falls, RI in 1970, where the Peron
- 54:42family, which consisted of mother Carolyn, father Roger,
- 54:48and their five daughters Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cynthia and
- 54:54April. We're all living a relatively
- 54:56normal life. Among things like school, work
- 55:01and outdoor play. Nothing seemed quite out of the
- 55:05ordinary. Yet the children had been gifted
- 55:10a puppy with an exceptionally unique personality and out of
- 55:14the ether, a name came to mind when they were naming her
- 55:18Bathsheba. A unique dog with a unique name.
- 55:24She was fond of all the children, but especially Andrea,
- 55:28Now 10 years old. She would often take Bathsheba
- 55:32for walks around their suburban neighborhood.
- 55:36However, on one of those walks, tragedy would strike and would
- 55:40seemingly set in motion a snowball effect that would
- 55:44follow the family for years to come.
- 55:48While Andrea had the puppy out in the neighborhood, her sisters
- 55:51had come up from playing outside and decided to make the walk a
- 55:55group activity. All seemed fine until a car full
- 55:59of teenagers drove by at an incredibly high rate of speed.
- 56:04They seemed to be yelling something in unison and had
- 56:08brightly colored tassels hanging out of their windows.
- 56:12Bathsheba was an obedient dog, but the flailing and bright
- 56:16colored streamers caught her. Attention and in an instant.
- 56:20She broke loose from Andrea and bolted towards the vehicle.
- 56:26The shocked girls then watched the car miss her by mere inches
- 56:30as she made her way safely across the road.
- 56:33But being the good dog that she was, upon hearing Andrea call
- 56:37out to her again, she began to run back to them and in the
- 56:42blink of an eye, she was struck by another vehicle, an elderly
- 56:47couple that never even saw her. Her leash had gotten caught
- 56:52around one of the wheels of their car when they hit her and
- 56:55she was suffering immensely. A nearby neighbor called the
- 56:59police, and upon removing the children from the scene, they
- 57:03were traumatized further as they heard the gunshot that ended the
- 57:08poor animal's life. The entire family now held a
- 57:12deep despair at the tragedy that had taken place.
- 57:16She wasn't just a pet, she was a member of the family, and there
- 57:20was now an unspoken pain that haunted them.
- 57:24The family had planned a vacation months prior and hoped
- 57:28that a break from their normal routine would help everyone, so
- 57:32they went. And soon some of their sadness
- 57:36turned to joy as the family experienced hotel swimming
- 57:39pools, ice cream and shopping. But this joy would.
- 57:45Too be short. Lived The family also had four
- 57:49cats, and upon returning to their home with this newfound
- 57:53sense of well-being, they would endure even more trauma.
- 57:58They would discover that almost all of their cats had been
- 58:02viciously killed by neighborhood kids while they were gone.
- 58:06Several had every bone in their bodies broken with a baseball
- 58:11bat. Upon this horrific discovery,
- 58:14their father Roger rushed inside the house to call the police.
- 58:19Only to find their home absolutely ransacked as well.
- 58:23Furniture was upside down, mirrors and windows broken, all
- 58:29of their provisions left to spoil from their tipped over
- 58:32fridge, and their carpet was doused in motor oil.
- 58:37It would later be discovered that two of their cats were
- 58:40killed by the group of the kids. One would never be seen again
- 58:44and the other had been seriously beaten but would survive,
- 58:50although the neighborhood was known for angsty teenagers.
- 58:53And roughhousing kids? The family wondered.
- 58:57How could these kids conduct such evil?
- 59:00Did the devil's foot soldiers know no bounds?
- 59:02A police report was filed and it was shortly uncovered that the
- 59:07demon seed who had LED these awful actions was their 12 year
- 59:11old neighbor. The young man was seemingly a
- 59:14born criminal upon being confronted the boy's mother.
- 59:19Covered for her son, and despite their best efforts due to lack
- 59:23of evidence, nothing much would come of the report with the
- 59:26police. But Andrea would have her
- 59:30revenge. She had yet to come to terms
- 59:33with her precious Bathsheba's death, and now this.
- 59:37The rage inside of her built. After some thorough planning,
- 59:43she attacked the boy who was responsible, beating him
- 59:46ferociously, breaking his nose, blackening his eyes until she
- 59:52was pried off by a nearby neighbor and told to go home.
- 59:57All this wouldn't bring her animals back, but it felt
- 1:00:01justified to the young girl, given what the boy had done.
- 1:00:05But these antics of sadness, hostility and rage would soon
- 1:00:09manifest into something much darker.
- 1:00:13Ever since their home was ransacked, Carolyn had wanted to
- 1:00:18move, but knowing they weren't in a financial.
- 1:00:21State to do so. They had little to no choice
- 1:00:24other than to stay, so she kept an ever watchful eye on her
- 1:00:29children, letting them out of the house rarely and mostly
- 1:00:33under her supervision. Given the prior events, she
- 1:00:36wanted them raised by wild nature, not wild beasts.
- 1:00:42Shortly after this time, Rodger had prepared to depart for a
- 1:00:45business trip which was to last several days.
- 1:00:49Even amidst the turmoil of the current events, he still had to
- 1:00:53provide for his large family. And while his family was just
- 1:00:57waking up that morning, as he and his wife Carolyn enjoyed
- 1:01:01their morning cup of coffee, they were suddenly startled by
- 1:01:05the sound of a large explosion in their front yard, like
- 1:01:09someone had fired a cannon towards their house.
- 1:01:13Alarmed, they raced outside to discover what had happened.
- 1:01:19Shortly after purchasing their humble home, Carolyn had built a
- 1:01:23rock garden of sorts at the entrance of their driveway.
- 1:01:27Her friends often teased her that it's centerpiece resembled
- 1:01:31a tombstone without the inscription of the dearly
- 1:01:34departed. Well to the family shock, their
- 1:01:39neighbor from across the street had started his truck that
- 1:01:42morning and had suffered a major heart attack and had died at the
- 1:01:46wheel, his foot pressing down on the gas causing the truck to
- 1:01:51barrel directly at the parents home to smash right into that
- 1:01:55large rock. It was almost like something was
- 1:01:59following them, like a living breathing Organism feeding upon
- 1:02:05it. After this horrible event,
- 1:02:08people began to refer to the rock garden as the graveyard.
- 1:02:13Missus Curtis, the wife of the neighbor who had passed away,
- 1:02:18upon being greeted and offered condolences by the family,
- 1:02:22actually blamed them for what had happened, declaring that
- 1:02:26Carolyn never liked them anyway and was a witch.
- 1:02:30That was enough for her. Again, she begged Roger to move,
- 1:02:35but they were seemingly stuck given the awful circumstances.
- 1:02:40The man still had to work, so he departed for his business trip.
- 1:02:46While her husband was gone, it was up to Carolyn to take care
- 1:02:49of their five children. This meant taking them to and
- 1:02:53from school, as well as music lessons and much more.
- 1:02:58While attending her daughter Andrea's music lessons, she had
- 1:03:01forgotten to bring a book to help her pass the time.
- 1:03:05So Carolyn went and purchased a paper as a substitute.
- 1:03:09Before too long, she found herself daydreaming and looking
- 1:03:12through the various ads and. Real estate available.
- 1:03:16Wanting and wishing that she could change their current
- 1:03:19predicament when strangely enough, the universe seemed to
- 1:03:23glance back at her. Hidden among many other homes
- 1:03:27was a nine bedroom farmhouse with a barn, lots of land and
- 1:03:32seclusion. It's beautiful design and
- 1:03:36elegance soon had Carolyn imagining her children playing
- 1:03:40and being raised in nature as she wanted that she could allow
- 1:03:44them to do so without the fear of other children attempting to
- 1:03:47harm them. She almost immediately became
- 1:03:50obsessed with the idea of purchasing the house and
- 1:03:54although the family really couldn't afford it at the time
- 1:03:58without seeking Roger's permission, she made a call and
- 1:04:02went to look at the old Arnold estate the following day.
- 1:04:06The owner was a very nice old lady, and although she didn't
- 1:04:09have much, Carolyn asked how much she would have to put down
- 1:04:13to hold the home so she could purchase it once her husband had
- 1:04:17returned. An agreement of $500 as a good
- 1:04:21faith payment was made, and shortly after Roger arrived back
- 1:04:25home several days later, he was sideswiped by his wife's
- 1:04:30decision, although his anger would soon turn to
- 1:04:34understanding. After all, a happy wife makes
- 1:04:38for a happy life, as most would say.
- 1:04:41Even though he didn't know exactly how they would make it
- 1:04:44work, he decided to placate his wife and allow them to purchase
- 1:04:48the home. It took some time, but before
- 1:04:52too long they found themselves packing and coming into
- 1:04:56possession of the keys to their future.
- 1:04:59Although they couldn't foresee just how dark of the future it
- 1:05:02was to be the parent family, having seemingly found the home
- 1:05:10of their dreams located on a large swath of land outside of
- 1:05:14the town of Harrisville, RI, what would become known as the
- 1:05:19Old Arnold Estate almost seemed to perfect like an answer.
- 1:05:24To their desperate prayers. It's a large farmhouse which has
- 1:05:299 bedrooms, a barn and plenty of land which they can envision
- 1:05:34their children playing on and having a wonderful time.
- 1:05:38Although it's winter, they go ahead and begin to move into
- 1:05:42their new house. There's a massive snowstorm
- 1:05:46taking place while they're moving in, but this doesn't
- 1:05:49deter the large family from getting settled in to what they
- 1:05:52believe is going to be a charming, nice and new home for
- 1:05:57all of them. Given everything they've been
- 1:06:00through, I would have hoped for the same.
- 1:06:03And for the first three months, things are charming, nice and
- 1:06:07normal. Their rustic farmhouse has its
- 1:06:10challenges with it being fairly old, such as being very cold
- 1:06:15that winter, but it's nothing they can't deal with, or so they
- 1:06:20think. All around, the feeling is a
- 1:06:23happy one for the family. But this happy mood would soon
- 1:06:28change. Upon meeting their nearest
- 1:06:31neighbors, they seemed rather strange.
- 1:06:35They offered one piece of advice to Roger and Carolyn.
- 1:06:39For the love of your family, keep the lights on at night.
- 1:06:43Originally written off by the couple, these words would seem
- 1:06:47to be rather fitting foreshadowing for the events to
- 1:06:50come. When the frozen land of the farm
- 1:06:53began to thaw, it seemed like something thawed along with it
- 1:06:57and began to plague them once again one night when the
- 1:07:03daughters, Nancy and Andrea were asleep.
- 1:07:05In their shared room. Were suddenly woken up by the
- 1:07:09sound of their doors slimming open and closed, open and
- 1:07:14closed. Petrified by the noise of the
- 1:07:16door smacking the wall and it also being their only way out of
- 1:07:20the room, they ran towards the door to try and escape when
- 1:07:25suddenly it stopped moving and just stayed open, still
- 1:07:31creaking. From being moved.
- 1:07:35Catching their breath and trying to come to terms with what had
- 1:07:38just happened. Thinking by this point maybe one
- 1:07:41of their other sisters was trying to play a prank on them.
- 1:07:45The 2 girls looked down the hall and eventually made their way to
- 1:07:48their other sisters rooms where they found them asleep.
- 1:07:54Needless to say they wouldn't sleep for the rest of the night.
- 1:07:58They would bring this to the attention of their parents the
- 1:08:00following morning. But were quickly dismissed.
- 1:08:04As is often the case, and told that they had overactive
- 1:08:08imaginations. From here things started small
- 1:08:13but became very noticeable as they mushroomed into much bigger
- 1:08:17experiences. At first, whatever spirits they
- 1:08:21believed could be in the house seemed benevolent, almost
- 1:08:25good-natured, with some of the younger siblings later stating
- 1:08:29that they would even be tucked into bed by the spirit of a
- 1:08:32woman on occasion, but that was all too short lived.
- 1:08:36Items soon began to go missing. Car keys weren't where they had
- 1:08:40been hung daily. Items such as mugs, toys, and
- 1:08:45utensils were soon disappearing as well.
- 1:08:49Carolyn would hear the scraping of a broom upon the floor or the
- 1:08:53knocking of a kettle in the kitchen when no one else was
- 1:08:56home but her. With this, upon cleaning the
- 1:09:00floors, she would also find piles of dirt that would appear
- 1:09:05out of nowhere, making her feel as if she was going crazy.
- 1:09:10But these small happenings too would soon become larger.
- 1:09:15The children would often play a game called Hide and Clap, a
- 1:09:18version of hide and go seek. This time Andrea was the seeker
- 1:09:23and her sisters went off hiding throughout the estate.
- 1:09:27Cindy made her way into the. Woodshed.
- 1:09:29Found a small box, just big enough for her to get inside.
- 1:09:33Being determined to win, she climbed into the box and slid
- 1:09:37the small lid over the top, figuring this would be an
- 1:09:40excellent hiding place indeed. And after several minutes she
- 1:09:45realized that no one was coming for her and went to remove the
- 1:09:49lid. Except it wouldn't budget.
- 1:09:52Panicking and utter darkness, she used all means necessary to
- 1:09:57try and remove the lid and free herself.
- 1:10:01After screaming and worrying that she'd suffocate inside this
- 1:10:05box, she was thankfully found by Andrea, who slid the lid off no
- 1:10:10problem, revealed her horribly distressed younger sister
- 1:10:14inside. It's important to note that this
- 1:10:18was a sliding cover. There was no locking mechanism.
- 1:10:23Along with this terrifying event, the children's rooms were
- 1:10:26often rearranged daily. They would leave their things
- 1:10:30one way in the morning and return to things either
- 1:10:33completely a mess, as if a small cyclone had hit their rooms, or
- 1:10:38all items would be smashed underneath their beds.
- 1:10:41And this happened to all of the girls at one point or another.
- 1:10:46These small whispers, bangings and movements did indeed become
- 1:10:52larger. Andrea, being the oldest, would
- 1:10:56often be woken up by her younger.
- 1:10:57Siblings. And would hold them as they
- 1:11:00sobbed their eyes out, terrified to return to their rooms.
- 1:11:05Cindy, in particular, began to hear a sinister voice call out
- 1:11:09to her almost every night. The voice would tell her that
- 1:11:13there were seven dead soldiers in the walls.
- 1:11:16And would repeat it over and over and over again.
- 1:11:22The children, now terrified, begged their parents.
- 1:11:26To believe them. And although they too were
- 1:11:29beginning to experience things on their own, they didn't want
- 1:11:32to frighten the children, so they did what could be done to
- 1:11:36placate them. But soon the entire family began
- 1:11:40to hear the wails of something inhuman calling out for its
- 1:11:45mother. This disturbing trend with no
- 1:11:48origin was followed by even more disturbing happenings.
- 1:11:53The beds of the girls would lift up and shake by an unseen force,
- 1:11:58almost always around 5:15 AM, as if something was trying to send
- 1:12:04some kind of a message, although it was never clear just what
- 1:12:08that message was supposed to be. During the day, the apparitions
- 1:12:13of spirits began to manifest and stock the halls of the old
- 1:12:17Arnold estate. These were soon coupled by the
- 1:12:21horrible stench of rotting flesh wafting throughout the house.
- 1:12:27Soon the girls weren't the only ones whose doors were slamming
- 1:12:31open and closed and whose beds were lifting up on their own.
- 1:12:36Soon it was affecting their parents as well.
- 1:12:39One night, Carolyn woke up suddenly to the figure of an old
- 1:12:43woman over. The foot of her bed.
- 1:12:45Her hair was like a sack of cobwebs with little.
- 1:12:49Tendrils hanging off the woman's head was also bent and hanging
- 1:12:54off to the side of her neck as if it was horribly broken and
- 1:12:58mangled, her gnarled mouth screaming at her with an echoing
- 1:13:03voice. Get out.
- 1:13:05She shouted over and over again until she suddenly was no longer
- 1:13:12there. The parent family continued to
- 1:13:15endure a living nightmare as the traumatic paranormal activity
- 1:13:19persisted and continue to scale in intensity.
- 1:13:27How does one fight an enemy he can't see?
- 1:13:30Something he can't touch or feel, attack or defend against?
- 1:13:37This question and more must have ran through the heads of Rodger
- 1:13:40and Carolyn as they not only feared for themselves but
- 1:13:44especially their children now as their offsprings natural
- 1:13:48protectors. How anxiety inducing must it
- 1:13:52have been to know that they were powerless to stop what was
- 1:13:56terrorizing all of them each and every night?
- 1:14:01In an effort to try and understand what was happening to
- 1:14:03them, Carolyn began to research the history of their house and
- 1:14:08was shocked by what she found. Over 8 generations of the Arnold
- 1:14:13family had lived and died within the home, some by horrible
- 1:14:19means, according to the Black Book of Burlville, the town's
- 1:14:24former public records book. These included two suicides by
- 1:14:28hanging, one within the family barn, one by poison, the assault
- 1:14:35and murder of a young girl named Prudence Arnold by a farm hint,
- 1:14:402 drownings in the nearby Creek, and four men who froze to death.
- 1:14:45Among some of the notable deaths, one death that caught
- 1:14:50her eye in particular was that of a woman named Bathsheba
- 1:14:54Sherman. Her name was spelled exactly
- 1:14:58like their dog that they had previously owned, and her story
- 1:15:02was as interesting as it was disturbing.
- 1:15:06Born Bathsheba there in 1812, she married fellow Rhode
- 1:15:11Islander Judson Sherman and Thompson, CT on March 10th,
- 1:15:171840. 4. According to available
- 1:15:20information from that time, the two had a son named Herbert, and
- 1:15:25for all intents and purposes, things seemed normal.
- 1:15:29But that couldn't be further from the truth.
- 1:15:32After losing three children before the age of 7, Bathsheba
- 1:15:36began to care for her neighbor's children, perhaps to fill the
- 1:15:40void that such sorrow could create.
- 1:15:43And it's here where things take a strange turn.
- 1:15:47While caring for the infant of a nearby family, the infant
- 1:15:51suddenly passed away within Bathsheba's care.
- 1:15:55An investigation ensued and it was found that the child had a
- 1:15:59puncture wound in its. Skull.
- 1:16:01As if someone had taken a large sewing needle and sent it
- 1:16:05through the child's head. Rumors of devil worship and
- 1:16:10witchcraft soon became rife, with many believing she had
- 1:16:15indeed sacrificed her children to Satan, robbing them of their
- 1:16:19young lives. Although Bathsheba was never
- 1:16:23punished for the child's death since there was never a trial,
- 1:16:27that didn't stop her behavior from becoming increasingly
- 1:16:30bizarre. She became incredibly reclusive.
- 1:16:35Strange and dark rumors say that she supposedly attempted to
- 1:16:42murder. Other children.
- 1:16:43While confessing her love for Satan before she then climbed
- 1:16:47atop the highest tree on the estate, cursing everyone before
- 1:16:52hanging herself. And although that would make for
- 1:16:56a much more fascinating story, it doesn't seem to be true.
- 1:17:00The rumors may indeed have been spread and they're evidence of
- 1:17:04multiple child deaths, including the infant via needle like
- 1:17:08object, but her tombstone reads her death date as May 25th, 1885
- 1:17:16S Odds are that she passed away as an old woman, but perhaps
- 1:17:20given the circumstances, she became more bitter with age.
- 1:17:25Another strange detail that was uncovered was one of the hanging
- 1:17:29deaths that took place within the barn on the estate.
- 1:17:33It was that of Catherine Arnold. She had, seemingly out of the
- 1:17:38blue one day, made her way from the house to the barn, gathered
- 1:17:43a rope, and hung herself from the rafters.
- 1:17:47She was frozen solid. When she was later discovered.
- 1:17:52It seemed like whatever paranormal force that stalked
- 1:17:55the land tormented the matriarchs of the families that
- 1:17:59lived there and fed upon death itself.
- 1:18:04These supernatural occurrences that now plagued the Peron
- 1:18:07family were a daily occurrence, and they soon also began to
- 1:18:12physically touch the family as well.
- 1:18:16Poking soon turned to pushing, a hand on the shoulder soon turned
- 1:18:20to slapping, scratching, and more.
- 1:18:25One day when Carolyn was reading a book in the living room.
- 1:18:29She felt a. Piercing pain in her calf.
- 1:18:32Upon further examination, she saw what appeared to be a
- 1:18:36puncture wound like that of a needle, with a small dribble of
- 1:18:40blood now coming out of her leg. These attacks didn't stop here.
- 1:18:48Carolyn soon believed that it was Bathsheba who was causing
- 1:18:51the majority of her problems. The spirit seemed to hide her
- 1:18:55things daily, making her feel as if she was going insane while
- 1:19:00simultaneously lusting after. Her husband.
- 1:19:04In later interviews, Roger would state that he never felt
- 1:19:08threatened by her spirit and that he only ever saw her
- 1:19:11sweeter side, such as comforting touches and the feeling of an
- 1:19:16embrace. To the contrary, his poor wife
- 1:19:20experienced much, much worse. Andrea Perrin, also in later
- 1:19:26interviews, said that the whole family believed it was the
- 1:19:29spirit of Bathsheba who was mostly tormenting Carolyn, as if
- 1:19:34she saw herself as the matriarch or the mistress of the house,
- 1:19:39and that Carolyn was some kind of competition, an obstacle
- 1:19:43between her and Roger's affection.
- 1:19:47On the verge of losing her mind and being tortured daily, the
- 1:19:51family was barely holding things together, most of all Carolyn.
- 1:19:58She had vented to a friend of hers named Barbara about what
- 1:20:01she had been going through. And strangely enough, this
- 1:20:05friend just so happened to attend a lecture that was being
- 1:20:08given by renowned paranormal scholars and demonologists Ed
- 1:20:13and Lorraine Warren. It was Barbara that actually
- 1:20:17told the Warrens about the parents and their struggles.
- 1:20:22Intrigued, they were put into mutual contact with one another,
- 1:20:26and before too long, the Warrens arrived at the front door of the
- 1:20:31old Arnold Estate. Upon stepping into the home for
- 1:20:35the first time, Lorraine Warren noticed a heavy and malevolent
- 1:20:40presence. Upon further convening over the
- 1:20:43course of several weeks, the couple told the family that they
- 1:20:47indeed were being haunted by the spirit of Bathsheba and that she
- 1:20:52had made a pact with Satan himself after sacrificing one of
- 1:20:57her children to him. She then hung herself on the
- 1:21:00property in order to haunt it forever.
- 1:21:04This is why the family was often seeing the mangled necked
- 1:21:07apparition of the woman with Wispy.
- 1:21:09Hair. This was apparently her.
- 1:21:13Over the course of several months, the Warrens would visit
- 1:21:17the old Arnold estate in order to try and assist the family
- 1:21:20with riding themselves of the spirits, but it was all to no
- 1:21:24avail. All of these events seem to
- 1:21:27culminate with a Seance. 1 stormy night.
- 1:21:31The Perrons, Roger and Carolyn, along with the Warrens were
- 1:21:36joined by a priest and a fellow medium to conduct a seance to
- 1:21:41try and establish further contact with the entities within
- 1:21:44the home. To understand just why they were
- 1:21:48plugging the family, the girls were confined to their rooms
- 1:21:51upstairs. We're not allowed to partake in
- 1:21:54the ritual. The ritual was conducted in the
- 1:21:57basement, one of the alleged sources of the dark energy
- 1:22:02according to Lorraine Warren, and in the middle of this
- 1:22:05ritual, Carolyn seemingly became possessed as she exhibited
- 1:22:11violent behavior. She was restrained to a chair in
- 1:22:14order to prevent her from hurting herself and others.
- 1:22:18The entity that now inhabited her body claimed to be that of
- 1:22:22Bathsheba and before everyone's eyes that was present, Carolyn
- 1:22:27began to not only speak a language that was
- 1:22:30unrecognizable, but in a voice that wasn't her own.
- 1:22:35She then began to levitate in the chair and flew across the
- 1:22:39room. Although they were forbid to
- 1:22:42witness the event, as Kiri's children often do, Andrea, along
- 1:22:48with her sister Cindy, snuck open the basement door and
- 1:22:51watched the events unfold for themselves.
- 1:22:55Their testimonies are also where some of these details are
- 1:22:58sourced from. Carolyn was now mangled and
- 1:23:03distorted, her body twisted in an unnatural position.
- 1:23:09After several hours of attempting to cast the spirit
- 1:23:11out, she finally went limp and lay catatonic on the floor.
- 1:23:18After his wife had seemingly been freed, Roger called the
- 1:23:22entire thing off. He was not only concerned for
- 1:23:25his wife's well-being, but his children's as well.
- 1:23:30And although the Warrens were trying to help, things just
- 1:23:33seemed to get so much worse when they were there.
- 1:23:37So disregarding their advice, he threw them out and forbid them
- 1:23:41and their associates from ever investigating the hauntings at
- 1:23:45the old Arnold estate ever again.
- 1:23:49Later in life, a 77 year old Roger would recall she was
- 1:23:54possessed, her entire body was distorted and it lasted several
- 1:23:59hours until they de demonized her.
- 1:24:03Then I threw them out. I couldn't take it anymore.
- 1:24:08The family's torment would continue with varying intensity
- 1:24:12until 1980, when they were finally able to sell the old
- 1:24:16Arnold Estate and move to Georgia and a bid to rebuild
- 1:24:20their lives. Finally, they were free of the
- 1:24:23horrible events that have plagued them for nearly a
- 1:24:26decade. But all those happenings, all
- 1:24:30those traumatic moments would never be forgotten by any of
- 1:24:34them. They all realized that they were
- 1:24:37truly lucky to have escaped with their lives as well as their
- 1:24:41sanity. Going back and not only reading
- 1:24:45various interviews, Andrea Peron's books, and watching
- 1:24:49interviews with the family, they not only seemed genuine, but
- 1:24:52really had nothing to gain by claiming to have experienced
- 1:24:56these things. It truly seemed like they had
- 1:24:58suffered. I mean, they threw out the
- 1:25:00Warrens, which is interesting in and of itself, but if I saw my
- 1:25:05wife twisted and exhibiting demonic behavior, I probably
- 1:25:09would be pretty freaked out as well.
- 1:25:12The story of the haunting of the old Arnold Estate and the Peron
- 1:25:15family was used as the basis for The Conjuring movie, in which
- 1:25:20they were also used as consultants for accuracy's sake.
- 1:25:24And the film does of course take liberties, as most Hollywood
- 1:25:28films do, but it's a good one for sure.
- 1:25:32But having watched this video, you're now probably aware of
- 1:25:35what really happened. Since the selling of the home,
- 1:25:39reviews have been mixed by other residents, with one lady
- 1:25:42claiming that the home wasn't haunted at all and even
- 1:25:45condemning and suing The Conjuring film makers for
- 1:25:49causing her distress through trespassers, and others stating
- 1:25:53that the home is still very well, haunted indeed.
- 1:25:56More current owners, who we'll call Cory and Jennifer, welcomed
- 1:26:01the spirits and the history of the home when they moved in,
- 1:26:05claiming to have only slept in the smaller wing of the estate
- 1:26:08for the first four months that they lived there.
- 1:26:11They didn't want to overstep their boundaries with whatever
- 1:26:14was haunting the property. When they finally opened up the
- 1:26:17door to the wing of the larger part of the house the very same
- 1:26:21night, they both claimed to be woken up by a shadowy figure.
- 1:26:26Their couple would say that it was pitch black in color and
- 1:26:29peeking at them from behind the door frame.
- 1:26:33Although most people would be terrified at the prospect of
- 1:26:35dealing with a shadow figure of any sort, the couple understood
- 1:26:39that they were guests in this home even though they had
- 1:26:42purchased it. And we're just excited to have
- 1:26:45experienced anything. But they also admit that
- 1:26:49although they do continue to experience strange things from
- 1:26:52time to time, it's nothing like what the Perrons say.
- 1:26:55They experienced nothing quite as malevolent or evil by any
- 1:27:00means. Despite criticism and support,
- 1:27:05the Prones to this day remain adamant that their story is
- 1:27:08true, with Andrea saying in an interview.
- 1:27:11With USA TODAY. Both my mother and I would soon
- 1:27:15swallow our tongue and tell a lie.
- 1:27:18People are free to believe whatever they want, but we know
- 1:27:21what we've. Experienced prior to her.
- 1:27:25Death. When asked about the events of
- 1:27:27the haunting Lorraine, Warren claimed that she still felt
- 1:27:30traumatized all these years later about what had taken place
- 1:27:34that stormy night during the seance at the old Arnold Estate,
- 1:27:38saying that the things that happened there were so
- 1:27:41incredibly frightening. But it still effects me to talk
- 1:27:44about it to this day. She, of course, was reunited
- 1:27:48with Ed on April 18th of 2019. God rest her soul.
- 1:27:54These days, people who have. Visited the house, such as
- 1:27:57various paranormal groups, researchers and fans of The
- 1:28:01Conjuring universe have described feeling multiple
- 1:28:05things for stepping in the home, some claiming to see shadow
- 1:28:09figures, others a feeling of a heavy presence to the points
- 1:28:13where it makes them nauseous. Regardless, there certainly does
- 1:28:18seem to be something there all around.
- 1:28:22I think the haunting given all the research I've done is more
- 1:28:25than likely legitimate. There's too many sources backing
- 1:28:29up what took place. Not to mention the family didn't
- 1:28:32gain anything from experiencing what they did and surviving
- 1:28:36members still claim. It's all true to this day.
- 1:28:40If you'd like to learn more, I'm listing the sources I used for
- 1:28:43research in the description below, as well as various links
- 1:28:47to Andrea Peron's books which tell the full story of her and
- 1:28:52her family. I, of course, am not affiliated
- 1:28:55with her or anyone else involved in any way, I just find them to
- 1:28:59be an interesting and very useful resource.
- 1:29:03So if you find yourself in hard times and are presented with
- 1:29:06what seems like a gift from the universe, just know that if it's
- 1:29:11too good to be true, it probably is.
- 1:29:15And the dream home that you can't wait to live in could be
- 1:29:18infested with generations of death and despair demons which
- 1:29:24could still be lurking and stalking the property.
- 1:29:29So my advice? If it sounds too good to be
- 1:29:32true, it is. And please research a home's
- 1:29:37history. Before you buy it.
- 1:29:40Or you may be stuck with a decade of paranormal torment.
- 1:29:43Or worse, you may become its newest permanent resident.
- 1:29:52Can death unleash something into this world that isn't supposed
- 1:29:56to be? Here could it act like a portal,
- 1:29:59allowing something sinister and dark to creep in just before it
- 1:30:04closes, especially if the person passing is harboring dark and a
- 1:30:10born secrets. When a young man begins to
- 1:30:13exhibit strange and demonic behavior and the very laws of
- 1:30:18nature seem to bend to his will, can a reverend work to save his
- 1:30:23very soul? Documented by multiple law
- 1:30:26enforcement professionals as unexplained to this day, this is
- 1:30:30certainly not a story you will want to miss.
- 1:30:33This is the untold story of Don Decker, also known as the Rain
- 1:30:39Man of Pennsylvania. The date is February 24th, 1983
- 1:30:49and on this cold, misty day, a family is mourning the loss of
- 1:30:54their loved 1A man by the name of James Keshaw.
- 1:31:01After battling alcoholism for many years, the bottle finally
- 1:31:05took its toll and caused cirrhosis of the liver which
- 1:31:10became fatal. Among the pews of friends and
- 1:31:14family paying their respects sits a young man, the grandson
- 1:31:19of James, 21 year old Don Decker.
- 1:31:23Donna Be granted furlough from his 4 to 12 month jail sentence
- 1:31:27for receiving stolen property in order to attend the funeral.
- 1:31:32But as he sat facing the body of his grandfather as others paid
- 1:31:37their last respects and gave glowing speeches about the man,
- 1:31:42Don clenched his fists. Only he harbored a dark secret
- 1:31:47that no one else knew, and this secret is perhaps what
- 1:31:51contributed to his troubled adolescence.
- 1:31:55When it was his turn to walk up and say goodbye to James.
- 1:32:00As he stood over his body, the face of evil looked back at him
- 1:32:05with eyes closed for the first time.
- 1:32:08Dom would later say it felt like good triumphing over evil that
- 1:32:13day. And I truly felt like everything
- 1:32:16was going to get better, like it was a turning point in my life.
- 1:32:22The secret that he had been holding on to for so long was
- 1:32:26that James, his very own grandfather, had abused him from
- 1:32:30the time he was seven years old until he was a teenager and no
- 1:32:35one else knew. All the years of pain and fear
- 1:32:39were caused by that man. The very same that now laid in
- 1:32:43the coffin. The very same that Dawn was now
- 1:32:47having to hear others praise and who he was publicly obligated to
- 1:32:53mourn. At the conclusion of the
- 1:32:55funeral, when James casket was laid into its final resting
- 1:32:59place, he couldn't stand the way his parents had glorified the
- 1:33:03man's memory. But given the circumstances he
- 1:33:06was in, furloughed from jail and with emotions raw amongst
- 1:33:11everybody, he decided it would be for the best to go and stay
- 1:33:15the night with some family friends instead before he was
- 1:33:19set to return to finish out his sentence.
- 1:33:22Bob and Jeannie Kiefer were long time friends of the family and
- 1:33:26were quite fond of Dawn, so they were more than happy to have him
- 1:33:30join them for the night. As the night progressed, the
- 1:33:34three of them were enjoying each other's company, but it seemed
- 1:33:38like all the feelings that have been stirred up from the
- 1:33:41memories of his grandfather's abuse at the funeral were coming
- 1:33:45back to haunt Dawn. He fell on edge and uneasy when
- 1:33:50suddenly the air around him vibrated with a bone deep chill.
- 1:33:56Almost simultaneously after this occurred, water began to drip
- 1:34:00from the ceiling and down the living room walls.
- 1:34:04Don then fell into an eerie trance like state, staring at
- 1:34:09nothing and yet everything at the same time.
- 1:34:13The Kiefer's were perplexed at what was happening and tried
- 1:34:16examining all reasonable possibilities.
- 1:34:20Thinking they had a leak, they contacted their landlord, a man
- 1:34:24named Ron Van Wy. Upon arriving, Ron too quickly
- 1:34:29became perplexed. The leak, or so they thought,
- 1:34:33was obvious. But what was strange to him was
- 1:34:37that there was no piping that ran through the front part of
- 1:34:40the house. Certainly none that could spring
- 1:34:43a leak from the ceiling or the walls.
- 1:34:46None at all. On top of this strangeness, when
- 1:34:50observing the water's direction, Ron noticed that there was
- 1:34:54indeed no sense of direction. The water was not only coming
- 1:34:59from the top, down from the ceiling in the walls, but it was
- 1:35:03going from the floor and up the walls and direct contradiction
- 1:35:08to the laws of gravity and to anything that he had ever seen.
- 1:35:13Shocked and needing multiple witnesses to assure himself that
- 1:35:17he wasn't crazy, Ron phoned his wife Romaine to come and take a
- 1:35:22look as well. Upon her arrival, she was just
- 1:35:26as perplexed and became scared of what was happening since it
- 1:35:30defied all logic and the leak, or so they thought, only became
- 1:35:36worse. So the landlords did the only
- 1:35:39thing that they could do, they called the police.
- 1:35:43Shortly after that call, a patrol car arrived with Officer
- 1:35:47John Bojan, who, after briefly stepping inside the home, became
- 1:35:51drenched in water and also witnessed the bizarre,
- 1:35:55otherworldly activity to which he had no explanation for
- 1:36:00either. So to prove his sanity and to
- 1:36:03back up a report, he called upon his partner, an officer named
- 1:36:09Richard Volbert. When Richard arrived, he wanted
- 1:36:13to be briefed on exactly what was going on.
- 1:36:16The Bojan didn't want to give him any sort of a preconceived
- 1:36:19notion and just told him to trust him on this one.
- 1:36:23After some back and forth, Richard finally conceded and
- 1:36:27followed John into the key for residence.
- 1:36:30He would later describe the incident as.
- 1:36:32So I walked in the door, I couldn't have gotten 2 steps in
- 1:36:37the door and I was pelted by water as we were discussing a
- 1:36:41potential leak and as we were being told that there were no
- 1:36:44pipes in that part of the house. As we stood just inside the
- 1:36:48house a droplet of water was traveling horizontally and
- 1:36:54passed right between US and out into the next room.
- 1:36:58As I retell this story I have a chill up my spine and the hair
- 1:37:03on my neck is standing up. John would go on to say things
- 1:37:08were happening in this house that I couldn't have ever
- 1:37:11possibly dreamed of happening and there was no way to explain
- 1:37:15what was going on. Shocked by what they were
- 1:37:18witnessing, the two officers asked the family to step outside
- 1:37:22of the house and out of the water while they left to report
- 1:37:25the incident to the chief himself.
- 1:37:28The Wise decided to stay at the property while the Kiefer's and
- 1:37:32Don walked across the street to a local restaurant for something
- 1:37:36to eat. Within seconds of everyone
- 1:37:39departing, the water suddenly stopped within the house, and
- 1:37:43aside from the home being drenched, it was back to normal.
- 1:37:47No more dripping water and no more mist.
- 1:37:52This left Ron and his wife, only to speculate that whatever was
- 1:37:55happening was coming from one of the three, because when they
- 1:37:59left, so did it. Pam Scrofano, who owned the
- 1:38:04pizzeria opposite the Kiefer's house where the three ended up
- 1:38:08in, was a friend of the Kiefer's and knew Dawn as well.
- 1:38:12Upon greeting the three of them, she noticed that Dawn was
- 1:38:16distant, like he was looking at you, but looking through you, a
- 1:38:22deeply religious woman. She sent something evil about
- 1:38:25him, like the devil was working through Dawn Decker and
- 1:38:30recommended that they contact someone at the church for help.
- 1:38:34Within mere seconds of mentioning this, droplets of
- 1:38:38water hit the table in front of them, and soon the very same
- 1:38:43phenomena that was originally happening in the house was also
- 1:38:47now taking place inside the pizzeria.
- 1:38:51Sensing this evil Pam ran to the cash register where she had an
- 1:38:56old cross necklace. She took it out and placed it
- 1:39:00around Don's neck. As soon as it touched his skin,
- 1:39:04he got burned. He began to scream and pulled
- 1:39:08the necklace off of him. It was charred black.
- 1:39:13As the trio departed the pizzeria and headed back to
- 1:39:16their home, the strange activity inside once again ceased.
- 1:39:22It's important to note that nothing like this had ever
- 1:39:25happened at the Kiefer residence or Pam's Pizzeria.
- 1:39:29No plumbing issues, nothing that could be considered even
- 1:39:33remotely similar. Convening inside the home once
- 1:39:36again, they met Ron and his wife.
- 1:39:39Ron suspected that Don had something to do with what was
- 1:39:42happening, and after some discussion, an argument erupted
- 1:39:46among the group. This led to Jeannie screaming at
- 1:39:50Don, telling him that they knew it was him, that he had to make
- 1:39:54all of this stop. After the words left her mouth,
- 1:39:59the pots and pans above the stove began to shake, and the
- 1:40:03lights around them began to flicker.
- 1:40:07Don Decker. Was no longer in control of his
- 1:40:11body. Everyone watched in horror as
- 1:40:15Don levitated multiple feet into the air and rotated several
- 1:40:20times. He was then thrown out of the
- 1:40:23kitchen where they were and into an entirely different room.
- 1:40:28Don himself would later recount the event like this.
- 1:40:32It wasn't like someone grabbing your hand or picking you up.
- 1:40:36I felt this force over my entire body.
- 1:40:40I'm a big man and I've always been assertive, but this,
- 1:40:44whatever this was, made me feel like a newborn child.
- 1:40:49I'm scared right now just thinking about it.
- 1:40:52Don now laid unconscious on the floor and the rain began again.
- 1:40:58The wise and the kiefers were an absolute shock and disbelief at
- 1:41:02what had just taken place. They knew it was tied to dawn,
- 1:41:07but they had no idea just what it was, but they felt that it
- 1:41:11was evil. A few hours after the strange
- 1:41:15incident witnessed by the police officers, they arrived back at
- 1:41:18the residence alongside their very heated police chief.
- 1:41:23As he made his way into the home with the two officers behind
- 1:41:26him, he too was pelted with water just as they had been.
- 1:41:30Now first probably feeling like he was on the spot and perhaps
- 1:41:34slightly embarrassed, he claimed that this wasn't even a police
- 1:41:38issue, but a plumbing issue, despite then being told that
- 1:41:42there were no pipes in that part of the house, and this was even
- 1:41:46confirmed by blueprints of the home.
- 1:41:49After taking a look around at the rest of the home, which was
- 1:41:52bone dry, the chief then angrily ordered the two officers to
- 1:41:56escort him back home. He would be the only officer
- 1:42:00that night to not admit to anything strange happening.
- 1:42:04He then directed Officers John and Richard to not file a report
- 1:42:09and to not speak about the incident at all, but word would
- 1:42:13get out the following morning. Acting against the specific
- 1:42:18orders from their chief, the two officers returned to the
- 1:42:21residence along with three veteran officers as well.
- 1:42:25They too would see and experience the bizarre rain
- 1:42:28inside the home. So they decided to try something
- 1:42:32to attempt to get to the bottom of what exactly was going on.
- 1:42:36They asked if they could place a paper bag over Don's head, to
- 1:42:40which Don agreed. This was so he would have no way
- 1:42:43of seeing anything. He'd have no preconceived
- 1:42:47notions of what could be placed on him or in his hands.
- 1:42:51They then placed a gold cross necklace from one of the
- 1:42:54officers into his hand. Lieutenant William Davies, one
- 1:43:00of the officers present who placed the cross into his hand,
- 1:43:04described the incident like this.
- 1:43:07As soon as the necklace touched his palm, he said it burned him.
- 1:43:12He would have had no idea what it was.
- 1:43:15I saw what I believe to be smoke of some sort coming from the
- 1:43:19necklace or his hand. As he dropped the necklace.
- 1:43:22I picked it up and it was hot, not burning hot, but hot enough
- 1:43:28to concern me. Then suddenly with the force, as
- 1:43:33if a bus hit him, he lifted up and was thrown across the.
- 1:43:37Room. Hitting the back wall upon
- 1:43:40removing the bag from him, he was clearly dazed and had three
- 1:43:45bloody and fresh claw marks across his neck.
- 1:43:49I've been a cop for 40 years and I've never ran into anything
- 1:43:53like this ever. Never before and never again
- 1:43:58after. There's always an explanation,
- 1:44:02but in this case there was no explanation.
- 1:44:06The police would later leave again with no answers as to what
- 1:44:10was taking place, believing it to be a spiritual matter.
- 1:44:15Don was placed on the couch in the living room where the rain
- 1:44:18continued to go from mist to showers at random and varying
- 1:44:24times. After making multiple desperate
- 1:44:27calls to every Protestant and Catholic religious leader in
- 1:44:30Shroudsburg, only one didn't turn them down.
- 1:44:35Ron was able to convince an evangelical preacher, who went
- 1:44:38by the name of Reverend Johnson, to come over and pray with Dawn.
- 1:44:44As she arrived and began to pray, the rest of the group held
- 1:44:48hands and vigil and did what they could to support her.
- 1:44:52As the first words left her lips, Dawn began to convulse and
- 1:44:57shake. The rain intensified and his
- 1:45:01body began to twist into unnatural positions, but as she
- 1:45:06continued, he slowly but surely began to relax and the rain
- 1:45:13seemed to stop. Although those present believed
- 1:45:16that a miracle had been performed, the results of that
- 1:45:20prayer session would only prove temporary, perhaps placing into
- 1:45:25hibernation whatever was inside Don Decker.
- 1:45:30Once his furlough was over, Don Decker returned back to jail to
- 1:45:33finish his sentence and within just a few days the mysterious
- 1:45:38rain returned. Upon his return to jail, Dom was
- 1:45:43placed in a cell with another inmate and had the thought enter
- 1:45:46his mind that if he could make it rain in the cell, perhaps he
- 1:45:51could get to be alone. Almost as soon as he thought
- 1:45:54that, the rain began. It was materializing out of the
- 1:45:59concrete floor and flowing upward.
- 1:46:04The other inmate was horrified and screamed for the guards to
- 1:46:07let him out. Thinking they had some kind of
- 1:46:10plumbing issue, the guards opened the cell and removed that
- 1:46:14inmate as well as Decker. At first, he was accused of
- 1:46:18throwing water onto the walls from the sink or from the toilet
- 1:46:22by the guards, but upon these accusations, Don rebuttal with.
- 1:46:27I can control it. This time the feeling was
- 1:46:30different. This time he felt powerful and
- 1:46:34in control. Upon hearing this, the guard
- 1:46:38laughed and said if you can control this rain, make it rain
- 1:46:42in the warden's office. An offer that Dawn couldn't
- 1:46:45refuse. The warden would then describe
- 1:46:49what happened. And these are the words of
- 1:46:51Lieutenant Warden David Keenhold.
- 1:46:54I was in my office filling out paperwork with no one else
- 1:46:57around. It was approximately 8:00 PM in
- 1:47:00the evening. I didn't notice it at that time,
- 1:47:03but my shirt was dripping down. I heard a knock at the door and
- 1:47:08little did I know that it was the same officer that was just
- 1:47:11with Don Decker. I wasn't aware of the situation
- 1:47:14at the time. He told me to look at my shirt
- 1:47:17and there was no explanation as to where the water could have
- 1:47:20come from. The officer then became very
- 1:47:23frightened of what had happened and after explaining the
- 1:47:26situation to me, I too became frightened.
- 1:47:30Shortly after the rain in the warden's office, a frantic call
- 1:47:34was placed to a local chaplain, a man named Reverend William
- 1:47:38Blackburn. He soon found himself shaking
- 1:47:41hands with the warden and several officers as he was
- 1:47:44escorted into the jail and into an empty cell.
- 1:47:47Within minutes he came face to face with Don Decker, who by
- 1:47:52this time was beginning to fear the feeling he had inside of
- 1:47:56him. That powerful and evil feeling.
- 1:48:00He was now asking for the Reverend's help and freeing him
- 1:48:04of whatever this thing was. Blackburn wasn't convinced at
- 1:48:08first. He told Decker that his life
- 1:48:10would be much easier if he just stopped all this nonsense and
- 1:48:14attention seeking. He would go on.
- 1:48:16Later, to describe the situation like this, almost immediately
- 1:48:20after I accused him, Don's demeanor changed.
- 1:48:25The glazed look came over him, and a horrible smell entered the
- 1:48:28room. Doctors, nurses, and medical
- 1:48:32personnel will tell you that when you walk into a room when
- 1:48:35there's someone dying of disease or of cancer, there's a smell to
- 1:48:40it. I smelled that smell multiplied
- 1:48:43by at least five times. It was evil and foreboding.
- 1:48:49Don's glazed expression then switched to 1 of malice and
- 1:48:53calculation. He exclaimed.
- 1:48:56I have powers that you don't and I can make it rain.
- 1:49:00He then raised his hand and rubbed his fingers together and
- 1:49:04it started to rain inside that cell.
- 1:49:07It was like a devil's rain, a mist.
- 1:49:10I was in the presence of evil. I started opening my Bible to
- 1:49:15begin to pray and Don said I don't want you to pray for me,
- 1:49:19to which I decided to anyways. I started to read to him and the
- 1:49:24strange thing is that even though I was soaked, the pages
- 1:49:28of my Bible never got wet and that was truly frightening.
- 1:49:33Although the session was short, upon uttering the words that he
- 1:49:37was now bound in the name of Jesus Christ, the rain stopped
- 1:49:42and a peace overtook dawn. When he finally came to, he
- 1:49:46thanked the reverend with tears in his eyes, and the two hugged
- 1:49:51and prayed together again. In the words of Reverend
- 1:49:55Blackburn, there is no doubt in my mind that he was possessed.
- 1:49:59No human being could do what he did in that room.
- 1:50:02There is no way that he did anything to fool me whatsoever.
- 1:50:06Whatever happened was spiritual and it was not from God.
- 1:50:11I can guarantee you that it was not from God.
- 1:50:15From this moment forward, the rain has stopped for now.
- 1:50:19Don Decker would later say that he takes things day by day and
- 1:50:23that fortunately, the rain hasn't returned.
- 1:50:27As for his grandfather, he thinks whatever happened was
- 1:50:31related to him. He thinks that considering where
- 1:50:34he thinks he ended up, maybe he was able to make a deal with
- 1:50:38someone and have yet another chance to abuse him.
- 1:50:43What makes this case so unique and interesting is that all the
- 1:50:46people involved are credible people.
- 1:50:48I mean we have some family friends sure, but they stated
- 1:50:52they had nothing take place in that house prior to Don's
- 1:50:55arrival that morning. We have the landlord of the
- 1:50:59family's home and his wife not only reaffirming that there
- 1:51:02weren't any prior issues, but that there were no pipes in that
- 1:51:06area of the house. We then have 6 police officers
- 1:51:10including the chief over the case experienced the phenomena
- 1:51:14and he was the only one that said that nothing took place.
- 1:51:17We have a business owner where the phenomena took place at her
- 1:51:20establishment as well. Then several guards at the jail
- 1:51:24and which he goes back to finish serving his time witness things
- 1:51:28and the warden of the jail himself and the police officers.
- 1:51:32Three of them were seasoned lieutenants I might add and
- 1:51:35anyone with a proper reputation unless they really experienced
- 1:51:39something would risk that in my opinion.
- 1:51:43So was it demonic infestation? Possession, poltergeist
- 1:51:48activity, or something else entirely?
- 1:51:51When we have so many credible eyewitnesses recanting the same
- 1:51:55details, saying what they saw, experienced, and felt was a
- 1:52:00phenomena not of this world, it truly makes you wonder.
- 1:52:05And if it wasn't spiritual, could Don's childhood trauma
- 1:52:09have allowed him to break into a part of the mind that could
- 1:52:12somehow? 'Cause these kinds of things.
- 1:52:15Allow him to manipulate the weather of his surroundings,
- 1:52:18move objects, and even cause harm to himself.
- 1:52:23We may never truly know the answers to this mystery in
- 1:52:26particular, and it very much still is a mystery to this day.
- 1:52:30As far as an update on Don Decker, besides multiple show
- 1:52:34appearances and interviews to discuss his story over the
- 1:52:37years, the last known activity that I could find of him was
- 1:52:42that back in 2012, he was charged with arson of a local
- 1:52:46restaurant in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania.
- 1:52:49It seems like perhaps he was paid to set fire to the
- 1:52:52establishment by the owner, maybe for insurance fraud.
- 1:52:56As far as the outcome of the case, I couldn't find additional
- 1:52:59details. Perhaps whatever evil that was
- 1:53:02inside Dawn got the best of him at this time.
- 1:53:06Or, you know, we're all human, we do make mistakes without
- 1:53:10otherworldly influence as well. Just the thought.
- 1:53:14Wherever he is, I do have to say that his story is an amazing and
- 1:53:18intriguing 1 and I wish him nothing but the best.
- 1:53:22I'd also like to say thank you guys for watching this video.
- 1:53:26Without you guys, this channel was just me making videos that I
- 1:53:29find interesting at home at my computer, and I really can't
- 1:53:34hammer home how much your support means to me.
- 1:53:37It seems like YouTube doesn't always want to promote my
- 1:53:40content, and that's been a big uphill battle over the last four
- 1:53:43years. So when you choose to watch
- 1:53:46Mystery Archives, just know it helps me out much more than you
- 1:53:49could ever know. Rob and Vicki Graves had found
- 1:54:04what appeared to be their dream home.
- 1:54:06Looking to escape the big city life and take up a more rural
- 1:54:10one for themselves and their two teenage sons, they found Fox
- 1:54:15Hollow Farm and were shocked at how affordable it was for the
- 1:54:18sheer size and quality of the property.
- 1:54:21Sensing that it was too good to be true, they asked what could
- 1:54:24possibly be wrong with it because at a passing glance it
- 1:54:28seemed absolutely gorgeous. Then it came to Rob.
- 1:54:33He had remembered the name from a news broadcast many years ago.
- 1:54:38Unbeknownst to him and his wife, they were now standing on the
- 1:54:41very same grounds that were once owned by Herb Baumeister, the
- 1:54:45notorious serial killer. They immediately brought this up
- 1:54:49to the real estate agent who was showing them the property and
- 1:54:53were immediately told that that was indeed the case.
- 1:54:56That the private investor had indeed purchased the estate from
- 1:54:59the widow of Herb following the disturbing discovery of the
- 1:55:03bodies back in the 1990s, but that it had been completely
- 1:55:07remodeled from head to toe, removing any and all remnants of
- 1:55:11what it looked like when the murders had taken place all
- 1:55:15those years ago. But that's why it was indeed so
- 1:55:18affordable, because no one wanted to live there due to the
- 1:55:21history. After some further discussion
- 1:55:24among the couple, they ultimately decided to purchase
- 1:55:28the property. Within a couple weeks, the
- 1:55:31family moves in and falls in love with Fox Hollow Farm.
- 1:55:35The teenage sons soon make it a habit to play outside and then
- 1:55:39wash off in the pool in the basement, soon tracking dirt and
- 1:55:43gravel all throughout the home. One day, Vicki is vacuuming up
- 1:55:48the dirt that the boys had brought in from the outside
- 1:55:51around the pool, when suddenly her vacuum loses.
- 1:55:55Power. Believing that perhaps she had
- 1:55:57accidentally unplugged it from the outlet, she plugged it back
- 1:56:00in and continued her work within several more minutes.
- 1:56:05It happened again, perplexed. This time, because she was even
- 1:56:09more aware and careful about the cord in the outlet, she knew she
- 1:56:13hadn't unplugged it, so she plugged it back in and triple
- 1:56:17checked that it wasn't just falling out of the outlet by
- 1:56:20pulling the cord. Evermore aware this time she
- 1:56:23goes back to vacuuming, but keeping a present eye on the
- 1:56:27cord itself, and to her amazement, it pulls out on its
- 1:56:31own. As if someone had grabbed and
- 1:56:34pulled it out of the socket. Startled, she drops the vacuum
- 1:56:38and was beside herself. She doesn't know how to make
- 1:56:41sense of what had just happened and this would just be the.
- 1:56:45Beginning of the strangeness that would occur.
- 1:56:49Rob worked at a car dealership and one of his employees was a
- 1:56:52man named Joe Joe had been a great employee, but had a
- 1:56:56problem of being chronically late most of the time.
- 1:57:00As he probed to figure out what was going on, Joe informed Rob
- 1:57:04that he lived over an hour away and really needed the job and
- 1:57:08would be willing to move closer if the opportunity presented
- 1:57:11itself. Well, Rob thought about it and
- 1:57:14ended up offering Joe a place to rent.
- 1:57:17Located on Fox Hollow Farm, they had a guest house that they were
- 1:57:21considering renting out as apartments for quite some time,
- 1:57:24and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to benefit everyone
- 1:57:27involved. Joe would indeed move in just a
- 1:57:30few days later. It takes several.
- 1:57:33Hours. But within that time frame
- 1:57:35they're able to get everything inside and finish the move.
- 1:57:39Exhausted, Joe decides to retire for the night with his dog Fred.
- 1:57:44As he lays down to sleep in his newly set up bed, he then finds
- 1:57:48himself in a horrific nightmare. He's being chased.
- 1:57:52Throughout Fox Hollow Farm by something he can't see.
- 1:57:56The dream is so intense that it causes him to sleepwalk, which
- 1:58:00wasn't something that he was known to do.
- 1:58:03He began to run while still dreaming and ran directly into
- 1:58:07the door frame as he tried to escape the guest house.
- 1:58:11Falling back, he knocked into a nearby glass of water, which
- 1:58:15fell and shattered, cutting his hands.
- 1:58:18The impact and cutting of his hands finally woke him up and he
- 1:58:22was forced to sit back and ponder just what had taken
- 1:58:25place. And fangs would only intensify
- 1:58:28from here another day. Soon after, Rob was painting the
- 1:58:32side of their home a different color As he and his wife
- 1:58:36remarked on how nice the finished job will be.
- 1:58:39She spots something out of the corner of her eye.
- 1:58:42She had seen a man in a red shirt staring at them.
- 1:58:45As she broke away from her. Husband and began to approach
- 1:58:48the figure. It started to walk away from her
- 1:58:51and quickly disappeared as if it never existed.
- 1:58:55The couple then called out and checked the perimeter but never
- 1:58:59found anyone. They dismissed the person as
- 1:59:02nothing more than a curious trespasser.
- 1:59:05I mean, after all, they did purchase a serial killer's home.
- 1:59:09They just had to accept that curious people may sneak up just
- 1:59:12to get a look at their home. Later that night, Joe was doing
- 1:59:16the dishes in his apartment when he suddenly gets a series of
- 1:59:20knocks on his front door, telling the person it'll just be
- 1:59:24a minute. As he dries his hands off to go
- 1:59:26and answer the door, the series of knocks begin to grow louder
- 1:59:31and more aggressive. Thinking it was.
- 1:59:33Extremely strange or extremely urgent concerning Vicki or Rob,
- 1:59:38he went and answered the doors. It was still being knocked upon.
- 1:59:42However, as he opened the door, there was no one to be found
- 1:59:48automatically on guard. He.
- 1:59:49Peers outside the knocking had been happening when he answered
- 1:59:53the door, so no person could have got very far while he
- 1:59:57answered. Mid knock he glanced around and
- 2:00:01yet saw and heard nothing. He stepped outside.
- 2:00:04And began to examine the roof in the nearby areas.
- 2:00:08And still there was nothing. Thoroughly weirded out at this
- 2:00:12point, he made his way back inside and bolted, the door
- 2:00:16locked behind him. He started to make his way back
- 2:00:19to the kitchen to finish doing his dishes when he spotted a man
- 2:00:23standing in his bedroom staring at him.
- 2:00:27Upon spotting the figure, his dog begins to growl and make
- 2:00:31sounds that he's never heard him make before, staring directly in
- 2:00:36the direction of the bedroom. Already on edge, he ran into the
- 2:00:41bedroom and flipped the light on, only to discover that there
- 2:00:45was again no one there. Searching the entire apartment,
- 2:00:50he again found nothing. Trying to rationalize and clear
- 2:00:54his mind, he decided to take his dog Fred for a walk to calm down
- 2:01:00and unwind for the evening. While on his walk around the
- 2:01:03property, he thought to check on Rob and Vicki's house to see if
- 2:01:07the lights were on. This would indicate to him that
- 2:01:10perhaps they were the ones who had knocked on his door and
- 2:01:13therefore he could rest easy. And figure out what it was about
- 2:01:17the following morning. However, upon arriving at their
- 2:01:20house, he found it completely blacked out.
- 2:01:24They had already gone to bed for the night.
- 2:01:26Fred, who was always a loyal and obedient dog, always walked with
- 2:01:30him without a leash and would always follow his commands.
- 2:01:35However, tonight would be a different story.
- 2:01:39Deciding to head back to his apartment, he motioned for Fred
- 2:01:42to join him, but the dog would not budget.
- 2:01:45He suddenly began to growl and then bolted into the nearby tree
- 2:01:49line. Instinctively, Joe ran after his
- 2:01:53dog, but not before seeing what his dog was running after.
- 2:01:57Before his eyes and the very same tree line was a man in a
- 2:02:01red shirt. Although he was absolutely
- 2:02:04terrified, Joe couldn't let anything happen to his beloved
- 2:02:08dog, so he continued to run towards this man, when suddenly
- 2:02:13whoever or whatever this was disappeared before his eyes,
- 2:02:19although slightly behind. He would quickly catch up to
- 2:02:23Fred and now noticed him not acting aggressive at all, but
- 2:02:27rather showing his belly in submission, staring in the
- 2:02:30direction of Joe. Joe, knowing his dog, knew that
- 2:02:35something very strange had to be up with him.
- 2:02:38He suddenly felt as if someone was staring directly at him.
- 2:02:42He slowly turned around to see the apparition of a man in a red
- 2:02:47shirt with a twisted face staring back at him just several
- 2:02:52feet away. Joe, as most of us would, ran
- 2:02:56out of there as fast as he could, his loyal companion
- 2:03:00following him. The two run as fast as they can
- 2:03:04back to the apartment, where they rush inside, lock and
- 2:03:07deadbolt the door, and nervously watch out of the blinds for the
- 2:03:11rest of the night. The following morning, and even
- 2:03:15more exhausted, Joe makes his way to Vicki and Rob's house to
- 2:03:18discuss the prior night's events.
- 2:03:21As he's telling both of them what happened, Vicki starts to
- 2:03:24become emotional. She too would seen the man in
- 2:03:27red just days earlier. She points to where she saw him
- 2:03:32and Loan, and behold, it's the exact same spot that Joe had
- 2:03:35encountered the entity the night before.
- 2:03:38As the day progressed tonight, Joe yet again found himself in
- 2:03:42his apartment, hoping to finally get some rest.
- 2:03:46But as he settled down in his bed, he was suddenly startled by
- 2:03:50knocking at his door. As he yelled out who is it?
- 2:03:54As he made his way towards the door, he didn't receive an
- 2:03:58audible answer back, just more aggressive knocking at the door.
- 2:04:03The door itself now is shaking. Facing his fear of the unknown,
- 2:04:08mid knock Joe throws the door open only to meet face to face
- 2:04:15with nothing. As he frantically looks around
- 2:04:18the yard while holding the door, he notices that the doors
- 2:04:21knocking apparatus is sticking straight out as if someone is
- 2:04:26holding it. It then drops one last time
- 2:04:30knocking the door. Absolutely petrified, Joe slams
- 2:04:34the door and locks it. As he tries to catch his breath
- 2:04:38and take several steps backwards, he sees the door knob
- 2:04:42begin to turn. Then, without warning, the door
- 2:04:46bursts open, shattering the lock.
- 2:04:50The open door yet again, reveals no one.
- 2:04:53After a moment of frozen terror, Joe runs outside and into the
- 2:04:57front yard of his apartment, screaming and searching all
- 2:05:01around for. Just who could be doing?
- 2:05:03This after several minutes. He stares back into the house to
- 2:05:07the open front door and sees a man dressed in all white
- 2:05:11standing there. He soaked from head to toe in
- 2:05:14what appears to be water and is screaming in a muted voice as if
- 2:05:19he's being held underwater. He then bolts towards Joe and
- 2:05:24seemingly disappears into a mist, frantically calling out to
- 2:05:28his dog Fred to accompany him, Joe frantically makes his way to
- 2:05:32Rob and Vicki's house on the property.
- 2:05:34He's so terrified that he's shaking now, and Rob and Vicki
- 2:05:38are just as scared. They now truly believe that they
- 2:05:41are dealing with something paranormal in nature in order to
- 2:05:45rationalize the situation and make sense of what was taking
- 2:05:48place. They begin to believe that
- 2:05:51they're experiencing the results of the murders conducted by Herb
- 2:05:55Baumeister and that his victims are either.
- 2:05:59Trapped. Here somehow or their energy is
- 2:06:02stuck in an endless loop, replaying their final and tragic
- 2:06:06moments over and over and over again.
- 2:06:13Refusing to return to his apartment, Rob and Vicki, being
- 2:06:17the supportive friends they were, agreed that Joe could stay
- 2:06:20the night with them and together they would begin researching
- 2:06:23online to try and formulate some kind of a plan of action of what
- 2:06:27to do next. As they collectively scour the
- 2:06:31Baumeister case information, they find themselves looking at
- 2:06:35the list of identified victims. As they get deeper into the
- 2:06:38details, Joe is shocked. He stops them on a picture of a
- 2:06:43man in a white shirt. That was the man I saw in my
- 2:06:46apartment who was soaked from head to toe and screaming.
- 2:06:51Although this information still scares them, it does help
- 2:06:55reassure them that they are indeed dealing with the victims
- 2:06:58of this horrendous tragedy. They are especially convinced
- 2:07:02considering many of the remains have never been identified, so
- 2:07:06they continue to research the case.
- 2:07:09After several uneventful days, Joe finds himself almost
- 2:07:12compelled to walk around the property with his dog, except
- 2:07:16this time in broad daylight. So apprehensively, he makes his
- 2:07:22way with Fred to the area where both he and Vicki have seen the
- 2:07:25Man in Red on separate occasions.
- 2:07:28Just past the tree line on The Walking path, Joe is stopped by
- 2:07:32what looks to be a bone. He believes that it's impossible
- 2:07:36that such a bone could have been missed during the extensive
- 2:07:39searches over the years, but none the less it was right here,
- 2:07:44right now, as if it had been placed there for him to
- 2:07:47discover. Quickly consulting and showing
- 2:07:50Rob and Vicki the discovery, they too believed that this
- 2:07:53could be a bone belonging to the mysterious Man in Red.
- 2:07:57They ended up contacting the lead detective on the Baumeister
- 2:08:00case and submitted the bone, which turned out to be a human
- 2:08:04femur bone, in his evidence and for analysis.
- 2:08:08They then requested if the investigator himself could come
- 2:08:11out to the property and explain to them just where things had
- 2:08:15taken place so they could have a better understanding of what had
- 2:08:18happened, to which he obliged. Several days passed and Joe by
- 2:08:24this point had made his way back to his apartment to try and
- 2:08:27settle back. In given the new information,
- 2:08:30while on his computer checking his emails, he began to hear
- 2:08:34scraping, almost metallic like sound originating from the
- 2:08:38kitchen. Upon further examination, he
- 2:08:41sees that all of his butcher knives from his knife block have
- 2:08:45been neatly arranged in his sink, placed in a row equally
- 2:08:49spaced from one another. Glancing around the room, he
- 2:08:53spots fresh deep cuts in the wood of the nearby counter
- 2:08:57cabinet. He believes that this could be a
- 2:09:00sign for one of the victims crying for help.
- 2:09:03He starts to try and figure out the mystery.
- 2:09:07He takes out his phone and begins recording, asking probing
- 2:09:11questions to whoever or whatever could be there and hopes of
- 2:09:15helping them in any way that he can.
- 2:09:18Prior to this, of course, he turned off any and all
- 2:09:21appliances that could. Interfere with the process.
- 2:09:24He begins by asking a series of questions and doesn't seem to
- 2:09:28get much of anything, at least not audibly.
- 2:09:31But then towards the end of his questions, Fred begins to growl.
- 2:09:35The same eerie growl he had any time they'd experienced
- 2:09:39something previously. Taking this is confirmation that
- 2:09:42perhaps his companion could see or hear something that he
- 2:09:45couldn't, he quickly downloads the audio file and begins to
- 2:09:50listen to it on his computer. And to his shock, he did indeed
- 2:09:55receive a response. This is the clip of the actual
- 2:09:58EVP that was recorded who keeps walking in the kitchen.
- 2:10:06He believes he hears the married one.
- 2:10:09But in all of their research, all of the victims were young,
- 2:10:13single gay men. The only one who was married was
- 2:10:17one Herb Baumeister. This revelation is startling.
- 2:10:22He not only believes that the victims were trapped within the
- 2:10:25grounds of Fox Hollow Farm, but that perhaps the serial killer
- 2:10:29himself could too be trapped here.
- 2:10:33What would follow would be dozens of paranormal
- 2:10:35investigations. And those investigations would
- 2:10:39lead the group to believe that they were not only dealing with
- 2:10:41the spirits of the victims haunting the grounds, but either
- 2:10:45a dark entity impersonating Baumeister or the killer
- 2:10:49himself. Several years after the events,
- 2:10:52the Graves family would end up selling Fox Hollow Farm, and it
- 2:10:56would continue to change hands over the years since then,
- 2:11:00leading to multiple new owners of the property.
- 2:11:03And although new information doesn't seem to be publicly
- 2:11:06available, it's still considered one of the most haunted places
- 2:11:10in Indiana, if not the world, given its unique and gruesome
- 2:11:15history. An independent film will go on
- 2:11:18to be made about it called The Haunting of Fox Hollow Farm.
- 2:11:21And Robert Graves, along with another man named Richard E Step
- 2:11:26who led many paranormal investigations at Fox Hollow
- 2:11:29Farm, would Co write a book detailing the family's creepy
- 2:11:32experiences of what they believed to be ultimately
- 2:11:36happening. So in conclusion, we know that
- 2:11:40Herb Baumeister was mentally ill ultimately, but what makes this
- 2:11:44case so strange and so compelling to me is that he was
- 2:11:48an outstanding member of his community for the longest time.
- 2:11:52He was the smiling neighbor, the charitable businessman, the
- 2:11:56happy family man, and overall a pillar of normalcy.
- 2:12:01But behind closed doors, his psyche, his soul, contained a
- 2:12:06darkness that most of us will never be able to comprehend, yet
- 2:12:11alone unravel and understand. So could the murderous deeds of
- 2:12:16a twisted individual trap souls on a property and perhaps open
- 2:12:20some kind of a portal? Could the unleashing of such
- 2:12:24energy, like what is expressed in a violent death, contribute
- 2:12:28to something like this if it wasn't what's known as an
- 2:12:31intelligent haunting where the spirits are aware of what has
- 2:12:34happened to them? And are indeed trapped.
- 2:12:36There, which very well could still be the case.
- 2:12:40Then perhaps it could be a residual haunting where the
- 2:12:43events are of such magnitude and strength that they play on a
- 2:12:48loop for all time, but the souls who were involved have long
- 2:12:52since moved on. These are questions that we may
- 2:12:55never have answers to, but all things that we should ponder.
- 2:13:00The one thing is for certain, the malicious calculation of
- 2:13:04Herb Baumeister and the horrendous things that he did to
- 2:13:07the suspected 25 victims at Fox Hollow Farms should never be
- 2:13:12forgotten. They are indeed still
- 2:13:15identifying and using updated technology to identify remains
- 2:13:19that are still being found on the grounds.
- 2:13:22This has happened as recent as November of 2022, so if you
- 2:13:26happen to be a family member of someone that you suspect could
- 2:13:30be connected to this case, just know that my heart truly does go
- 2:13:33out to you and please contact the Hamilton County Coroner's
- 2:13:38Office at 317-770-4415. Besides remembering what
- 2:13:46happened, I also urge you to please respect the victims and
- 2:13:50their families, as well as the family of Herb Baumeister if you
- 2:13:54should ever have anything to do with them.
- 2:13:57Throughout history, it has been speculated that many have been
- 2:14:01plagued by an ancient demonic force, from Mesopotamia to more
- 2:14:08modern times. This evil and terrifying entity
- 2:14:13as said to enter our world and wreak havoc upon those who dwell
- 2:14:18within it. When a seemingly normal family
- 2:14:23disregards the warnings and partakes in multiple Ouija board
- 2:14:28sessions, what happened next nearly destroyed them.
- 2:14:33This is the untold story of the demonic Zozo House of Oklahoma,
- 2:14:39and the abhorrent creature stalks its walls.
- 2:14:57Oklahoma City, a small but growing city in the heartland of
- 2:15:02America known for blue collar work and brick and mortar shops,
- 2:15:08red dirt and sports would soon become known for something much
- 2:15:15darker. A teenager by the name of Darren
- 2:15:19Evans was growing up here, a normal boy by all accounts,
- 2:15:25doing things that any teenagers would enjoy, hanging out with
- 2:15:29friends, shenanigans here and there, and dating girls.
- 2:15:36He began dating a girl named Brandy who attended school with
- 2:15:39him, and the two often found themselves visiting each other
- 2:15:44as often as they could, whether that was walking to and from
- 2:15:48school and between classes or visiting each other's homes.
- 2:15:55One day, while Brandy's home was having some plumbing work done
- 2:15:59on some pipes located underneath the house, the plumber doing the
- 2:16:04work would soon make a strange discovery.
- 2:16:08Located below the foundation of the home, covered in dirt, was
- 2:16:13an old Ouija board. The front letters were partially
- 2:16:17buried and the back of the board was solid black in color.
- 2:16:23Off to the side of where the board was found was an aged
- 2:16:27planchette. What made this finding even more
- 2:16:31bizarre was that 4 old jars sat on the corners of the board,
- 2:16:37speckled with dirt as well. Thinking perhaps the kids had
- 2:16:42stashed the board away and forgot about it, the worker told
- 2:16:46the young couple after his work was done about what he had
- 2:16:50found. And it's from here that things
- 2:16:53seemingly take a darker turn. Upon examining the discovery,
- 2:16:59they began to brush the dirt away from the jars.
- 2:17:03They were then shocked by what they found Inside each one of
- 2:17:07the jars. Sitting on the four corners of
- 2:17:10the board were the decaying bodies of blackbirds, congealed
- 2:17:16blood and matter still present. Bewildered but intrigued, they
- 2:17:23sat the jars off to the side and picked up the board.
- 2:17:29As soon as his fingers made contact with the board, Darren
- 2:17:33seemed to have an instant connection with it.
- 2:17:36And with this soon came a burning curiosity to examine it.
- 2:17:41And this curiosity would manifest into obsession with
- 2:17:48this. The couple took the board inside
- 2:17:50the home, where they spoke with Brandy's mother.
- 2:17:54She actively practiced the Wiccan religion but had no idea.
- 2:17:59Who could have put the board there several days later?
- 2:18:04Curious as most teenagers are, Darren was an avid music fan and
- 2:18:10one night, after building up the courage to do it, he decided he
- 2:18:15was going to contact the deceased singer of the the
- 2:18:18popular band ACDC, a man named Ronald Belford Scott, using the
- 2:18:25board. Scott had passed away from
- 2:18:28alcohol poisoning in 1980. After lighting several candles,
- 2:18:34laying the board with letters facing towards him, and placing
- 2:18:38the planchette upon the board, he began his session.
- 2:18:43At first, nothing seemed to happen.
- 2:18:47The Durham was still feeling this otherworldly connection to
- 2:18:50something within the board itself.
- 2:18:53After trying for half an hour, to his shock and amazement, the
- 2:18:58plant Chet began to move. Slowly at first.
- 2:19:03It then frantically began to move by itself, moving from Z to
- 2:19:10OZ to O over and over and over again, spelling out the name
- 2:19:19Sozo. Shocked and unsure of what or
- 2:19:24who he had contacted, Darren said goodbye in an attempt to
- 2:19:29end the session. Before his eyes he saw the plain
- 2:19:34chat spell out See you in Hell and then it threw itself across
- 2:19:40the room. A now terrified and bewildered
- 2:19:43Darren ran out of his room. He tried to make sense of what
- 2:19:47had just taken place, but this was just the beginning of what
- 2:19:52was to come. It started with horrible night
- 2:19:56terrors. He would wake up unable to move
- 2:20:00or speak and would hear whispering in his ears.
- 2:20:04These episodes at night were soon followed by banging and
- 2:20:08knocking throughout his house during the daytime, as well as a
- 2:20:12constant feeling. As if he was being watched by
- 2:20:15something, he couldn't see you. But despite the presence he was
- 2:20:21feeling, Darren now sought answers to his ever growing list
- 2:20:25of questions. Just what exactly he had
- 2:20:28uncovered. So he continued to hold sessions
- 2:20:33with the board. For better or for worse.
- 2:20:38Darren would later quote this. The sessions now were as intense
- 2:20:43and paranormal as anything I've ever witnessed.
- 2:20:47A deep and terrible moaning could be heard emanating through
- 2:20:51the walls. After these sessions I developed
- 2:20:54sleep paralysis and became reclusive to society in general.
- 2:21:00I was once again messing with Zozo and Ouija boards, despite
- 2:21:05the terrors of my earlier sessions in which I had promised
- 2:21:09myself I would never do it again.
- 2:21:11But again. And again I did.
- 2:21:16When not in use, the board was kept in a purple silk cloth and
- 2:21:21stored in his bedroom closet. It would also often go missing,
- 2:21:27sometimes for days on end when checking.
- 2:21:30Back where he had. Placed it in order to set up and
- 2:21:33initiate a new session. The board would seemingly vanish
- 2:21:39only to reappear at random times as if it was the one calling the
- 2:21:44shots of when it could be seen and used.
- 2:21:50The years came in when and the sessions on the mystical Ouija
- 2:21:54board continued. Darren by this time started
- 2:21:59inviting his friends to partake in the sessions, and although
- 2:22:03their sessions with him would prove he's not insane, it's of
- 2:22:07little consolation considering the tragedy it would seemingly
- 2:22:11manifest later on. Darren's best friend was a man
- 2:22:16by the name of Randy. The two had bonded over their
- 2:22:20love for the band ACDC in high school and had been inseparable
- 2:22:25ever since. Randy's idol also being the late
- 2:22:29Bond Scott, whose lifestyle seemingly imprinted upon the
- 2:22:33youthful teens Once Upon a time and perhaps would ultimately
- 2:22:38lead to the downfall of one of them.
- 2:22:42By now, Darren was living in his own apartment and working
- 2:22:46construction at a job site he was on.
- 2:22:50He would make a strange but familiar discovery.
- 2:22:54As he was digging down into the earth, he found what appeared to
- 2:22:58be a jar. Upon picking it up to discard
- 2:23:02it, he wiped away the dirt and debris, only to be shocked by
- 2:23:07its familiar contents. Loan.
- 2:23:10And behold, within the jar was a congealed and rotting Blackbird,
- 2:23:17extremely similar if not identical to the ones initially
- 2:23:21found alongside the Ouija board underneath his high school
- 2:23:25girlfriend's home all those years ago.
- 2:23:29It was particularly weird, not just because of this, but the
- 2:23:34fact that he had found it digging down deep into the
- 2:23:38earth. He wondered what were the odds
- 2:23:41of this, and although he had no way of knowing for sure, his gut
- 2:23:46began to tell him that there was some kind of witchcraft or a
- 2:23:50cult expertise at play here. Perhaps someone or a group of
- 2:23:56people were knowingly contacting this entity known as Zozo.
- 2:24:01But for what remained to be known, one evening in 1985,
- 2:24:08Darren and Randy were relaxing at Darren's apartment when they
- 2:24:12decided to host a session on the Ouija board.
- 2:24:15Randy, more than anything, wanted to try and make contact
- 2:24:19with his late idol Bon Scott, while wearing a Highway to Hell
- 2:24:25ACDC shirt. Randy's intent was clear.
- 2:24:30The two dimmed the lights, lit a couple of candles, and began the
- 2:24:35session upon the board. They made contact within a few
- 2:24:39minutes once the planchette was moving.
- 2:24:44Randy exclaimed. We want to talk to Bon Scott of
- 2:24:49ACDC. With this sentence, the
- 2:24:53planchette seemingly obliged. It moved in circles, eventually
- 2:24:59spelling out Aye MATE. The 2 looked at each other in
- 2:25:06amazement. The entity was using Australian
- 2:25:09dialects and for anyone who doesn't know, Bon Scott was
- 2:25:14Australian. After several more questions,
- 2:25:19both of the young men were convinced they were speaking
- 2:25:21with their idol. The spirit seemed to know every
- 2:25:24little detail to any question they asked and during the
- 2:25:29session the entity then made a strange request from the men.
- 2:25:34It asked them to light a cigarette and place it in the
- 2:25:37hole in the planchette. What proceeded to make both of
- 2:25:41them laugh also made them quite spooked as well.
- 2:25:45So they lit a couple cigarettes, one for each of them and one for
- 2:25:50this entity. They took a few drags to keep it
- 2:25:54lit and then placed it cherry side up in the planchette hole.
- 2:25:59The blanchette then spelled out thanks.
- 2:26:03They then watched an utter amazement as the cherry of the
- 2:26:06cigarette lit up as if Bon himself was taking puffs off of
- 2:26:12it. But this amusement was short
- 2:26:15lived. Once the cigarette had seemingly
- 2:26:19been smoked, the planchette began to spell something very
- 2:26:23different. It's spelled FU reinde.
- 2:26:28I will have your soul and I'll see you in hell, Zeo.
- 2:26:36Zeo terrified the men quickly into the session by saying
- 2:26:41goodbye and tossing the board outside the second story
- 2:26:44apartment balcony door. Clearly scared and upset.
- 2:26:49Randy also didn't take kindly to threats.
- 2:26:53He began cussing out Zozo with complete and utter rage.
- 2:26:58The board would later be returned by his downstairs
- 2:27:01neighbor, and after this session, a series of lows for
- 2:27:05both of the men seemed to manifest in the years to come.
- 2:27:10Influenced by the lifestyle of his idol, Randy fell victim to
- 2:27:15alcoholism. He soon would lose his wife to
- 2:27:18divorce and have split custody with his son.
- 2:27:23And although many opportunities presented themselves for Randy
- 2:27:26to better his life, for one reason or another, he was always
- 2:27:31just too far away to be able to grasp them, He often said to
- 2:27:35Darren, I feel like I'm in a prison and I can't escape for
- 2:27:42old time's sake. The two did one last Ouija board
- 2:27:45session together in 2005, in which Randy asked the board how
- 2:27:52he would die. The board responded in a car at
- 2:27:57night alone. In 2007, after spending the
- 2:28:02evening with Darren. The last words he would say to
- 2:28:06him were Darren, I will see you in hell.
- 2:28:11The next morning, Darren received a phone call from
- 2:28:14Randy's girlfriend Alicia, saying that Randy never made it
- 2:28:18home after he left. Instead, he had passed away in a
- 2:28:23violent head on collision, ultimately passing away in a car
- 2:28:28at night and alone. This devastating passing, along
- 2:28:34with the frequent contact with the entity known as Zozo over
- 2:28:37the years, led to a fascination and borderline obsession with
- 2:28:42the search for answers for Darren Evans.
- 2:28:47During the time before and after Randy's death, he had been
- 2:28:51living in a home in Oklahoma City, OK that would become
- 2:28:55synonymous with the demon's name.
- 2:28:59It was here that the worst afflictions brought on by the
- 2:29:02entity would take place to him and his family.
- 2:29:07Darren's fascination with the occult led him to hanging on to
- 2:29:11and possessing multiple Ouija boards and other various occult
- 2:29:15objects. It was here that he began to
- 2:29:19study on a much more in depth and organized basis, just trying
- 2:29:24to figure out who or what Zozo was.
- 2:29:29But this research would soon be interrupted and this home lived
- 2:29:34himself, his wife Kathleen, and their young daughter at the
- 2:29:39time. During a session with his wife
- 2:29:42Kathleen one evening while their daughter slept rooms away, Zozo
- 2:29:48would once again make itself present in their lives, but this
- 2:29:53time seemed to take possession of Darren.
- 2:29:57Kathleen trembled with fear and bated breath as something stared
- 2:30:02at her through Darren's eyes, something that clearly wasn't
- 2:30:07human. He then turned violent,
- 2:30:11attempting to attack her. Fortunately for Kathleen, she
- 2:30:16was able to say goodbye and get away before any harm could be
- 2:30:19done to her. Several minutes later, Darren
- 2:30:23would come back to himself with no memory of what had taken
- 2:30:28place. After this session, things
- 2:30:32seemed to escalate in intensity. Sounds began to rap throughout
- 2:30:38the entire home, from knocking to hissing, footsteps and
- 2:30:46banging, all seemingly with no explainable origin.
- 2:30:52The family got so terrified that they sectioned off a particular
- 2:30:57bedroom upstairs, calling it their safe room.
- 2:31:02One night, however, not everyone was within the safe room.
- 2:31:07Suddenly, an overwhelming sense of terror creeped upon Darren as
- 2:31:12he was trying to sleep. He rushed to the safe room to
- 2:31:16attempt to stop what he was feeling.
- 2:31:19Quickly realizing he couldn't leave his family behind, he
- 2:31:23rushed back out of the room in an attempt to gather them and
- 2:31:27bring them to safety as well. As he was heading towards the
- 2:31:32stairs, his daughter had heard his cries and was now at the
- 2:31:37foot of the stairs. It was here that Darren saw her
- 2:31:42being lifted by invisible hands into the air and carried away
- 2:31:47from him, screaming for his child as she screamed for her
- 2:31:53father. Darren ran down the stairs as
- 2:31:56fast as he possibly could but couldn't see her anywhere.
- 2:32:01Insight. He then heard her muffled
- 2:32:04screams coming from the basement.
- 2:32:08At first the door was locked and wouldn't open, but after
- 2:32:12adrenaline and brute force, Darren thankfully was able to
- 2:32:16open it. He then retrieved his hysterical
- 2:32:19child and brought her to the safety of the safe room.
- 2:32:25Once inside the room, the family huddled together in fear as they
- 2:32:29continued to hear movement and noises all throughout the house.
- 2:32:34After this abhorrent nightmare of a situation, the family knew
- 2:32:38they had to get out of the house.
- 2:32:41This situation and the many other paranormal experiences had
- 2:32:45led to a lifelong fascination for Darren Evans with the occult
- 2:32:51and finding out just exactly what Sozo is.
- 2:32:55But was it worth jeopardizing his family's safety?
- 2:33:00It took some time but the family would soon relocate to another
- 2:33:04home and once his family was safe, Darren was able to
- 2:33:09continue his deep dive into the unknown to try and track down
- 2:33:14and decipher just what this entity could be and where it
- 2:33:19came from. And although he knew the topic
- 2:33:22was vast, I think it went far deeper than he ever anticipated.
- 2:33:28Whilst trying to dig up more information, he posted his
- 2:33:32experiences to an old paranormal form in 2009 and since then
- 2:33:39many, many people have shared their experiences with the
- 2:33:44demonic force, many of which have been documented and
- 2:33:49compared by Darren himself on his website.
- 2:33:53But these experiences are not just the 21st or even 20th
- 2:33:57century phenomena, they date back far older than that.
- 2:34:03Not every fine detail will be mentioned here, but I will do my
- 2:34:07best to list the most important details that I could find in
- 2:34:11regards to the origin of Zozo. According to Darren and other
- 2:34:16online sources, Zozo in the old Basque language means Blackbird
- 2:34:23or crow. The Zo people of Haiti practiced
- 2:34:27a form of voodoo whose rituals involve horrific scarification
- 2:34:32as well as the intake and passing around of bodily fluids
- 2:34:37and bizarre rituals. Their witch doctors are called
- 2:34:41Zozo and wear demonic looking masks as part of their death
- 2:34:47ritual. When someone is passing away,
- 2:34:50they lift up the mask at the moment of death to take in the
- 2:34:54person's final breath. This is apparently done to
- 2:34:58absorb the soul of the person to gain more spiritual power.
- 2:35:03Zozo also in the Malay language is the same as it is in English,
- 2:35:09but it translates to wandering spirit, which is a spirit they
- 2:35:13believe to steal people's souls while they sleep, which is also
- 2:35:18bizarre because sleep is often considered the cousin of death.
- 2:35:24Zozo has been called the minister of deception.
- 2:35:27It is known to convince you that it is a deceased loved one or
- 2:35:31friend or even someone you've idolized, when in reality, it's
- 2:35:37not. Sessions typically start out
- 2:35:41friendly and inviting, but soon turned malevolent and dangerous.
- 2:35:48During his research over the years, Darren made contact with
- 2:35:53and spoke to famous demonologist John Zapis who shared with him
- 2:35:57that in his experience with over 40 years of studying the demonic
- 2:36:02and paranormal, the name Zozo and other pseudonyms of its name
- 2:36:07kept coming up in his investigations, which too led
- 2:36:11him to seek answers as to what it could be.
- 2:36:15And some of those investigations, when questioned,
- 2:36:19the demon stated that it was the son of Satan himself.
- 2:36:24But Zapfis thinks perhaps is with many deities that seem to
- 2:36:28be lurking in the shadows. Zozo could be an entity that's
- 2:36:32existed far before the founding of Christianity.
- 2:36:37Besides evidence showing up in Africa and Egypt, there's also
- 2:36:41evidence found linking Zozo to ancient Mesopotamia as well.
- 2:36:47Other names Zozo has gone by throughout the ages have been
- 2:36:51Zuzu, Zaza, and Mamo, among many others.
- 2:36:58The name Zuzu could refer to Pazuzu, the famed demon from the
- 2:37:02film The Exorcist, which in reality was a demonic entity
- 2:37:07from ancient Mesopotamian religion.
- 2:37:10It's incredibly strange to note the following as well.
- 2:37:14Zozo was replaced in the story of the exorcism of Roland Doe,
- 2:37:19and Peter Blatty was using it as inspiration to write The
- 2:37:23Exorcist. He changed Zozo to Pazuzu.
- 2:37:28Zozo is believed to be the demon that possessed Roland.
- 2:37:34It was described as a terrifying form that first appeared in the
- 2:37:38Neo Assyrian period, roughly around 934 to 610 BC.
- 2:37:45It had a monstrous head resembling A fierce lion or a
- 2:37:49dog with horns, and had an emaciated human body with clawed
- 2:37:55hands, a scorpion's tail, and two sets of wings.
- 2:38:01One translation reads. I am Pazuzu, the son of Hambu,
- 2:38:08king of the Lilu demons. I have scaled the powerful
- 2:38:12mountains. They trembled.
- 2:38:15The contrary winds were headed West 1 by 1.
- 2:38:20I broke their wings. Pazuzu and other demons like it
- 2:38:25were held responsible for ailments like disease, fetal
- 2:38:30death, nightmares, and much more.
- 2:38:34Could it be that this ancient demonic force is what could be
- 2:38:38plaguing people all the way into modern times?
- 2:38:42The demon Zozo is also mentioned in the French Demonic
- 2:38:46Encyclopedia is one of the demons responsible for
- 2:38:50diabolical possession and corruption.
- 2:38:55The possession of a young girl in 1816 is noted as a documented
- 2:39:00case where Zozo, among several other demons were present.
- 2:39:05Other noteworthy possession cases over the ages ranging
- 2:39:09closer to modern times that bears Zozo's name other than the
- 2:39:13exorcism of Rolling Doe in the 1950s, are the possession of
- 2:39:18Doris Blither in 1972 in Los Angeles, the Enfield Poltergeist
- 2:39:25incident in 1977 in the UK, and as recent as 2012 where a
- 2:39:33possession incident led to an attempted murder.
- 2:39:38Other theories with how this entity could communicate with so
- 2:39:42many people so quickly and across the globe over the years,
- 2:39:46besides supernatural ability of its own, would be that its own
- 2:39:51reach is perhaps being strengthened by an agrigor or
- 2:39:56collective group of thought form created by occultists for a
- 2:40:00certain purpose. However, this seems unlikely
- 2:40:06considering the entity doesn't seem to serve any human interest
- 2:40:11other than to destroy the person or people's lives it makes
- 2:40:14contact with. Agrigors are typically formed to
- 2:40:19bring control over a summoned deity for the person or groups
- 2:40:23bidding. But perhaps instead there is a
- 2:40:26cold worshipping Zozo? I mean, that would make more
- 2:40:30sense to me. People who have made.
- 2:40:33Contact with the entity via spirit or Ouija board have also
- 2:40:37been asked to chant or spell out phrases in Hebrew or Latin,
- 2:40:43which has convinced many of the intelligence of the being that
- 2:40:46they're speaking with. What is also interesting is that
- 2:40:51the letter Z was actually removed from the original Latin
- 2:40:54alphabet because it was considered too evil when
- 2:40:58pronouncing it. It was said that one's face
- 2:41:01would make a death's grimace like that of a corpse, and that
- 2:41:06it mimicked the letter S like an evil twin.
- 2:41:10Perhaps the entity uses this name as some sort of mocking,
- 2:41:15whether to God or something else.
- 2:41:19One may also ask, despite the origin, theories and historical
- 2:41:24details that could be linked to this ancient demonic force, how
- 2:41:28would one know if they encountered such a thing?
- 2:41:32These are what's known as Zozo's calling cards when it's being
- 2:41:35summoned using a Ouija board. The obvious is there that the
- 2:41:41planchette will begin to move on its own, but some less obvious
- 2:41:45signs are there as well, and are as follows.
- 2:41:50The planchette will move in a rainbow pattern from side to
- 2:41:53side, spelling ZOZO over and over again, also known as the
- 2:42:01rainbow effect. It can also move in repeating
- 2:42:05Figure 8 movements like an Infinity sign.
- 2:42:10The planchet will spell out various versions of the demon's
- 2:42:13name, like Zozo, Zozo, Zaza, Zuzu, or Mama.
- 2:42:22You may also begin to see shadows moving around the area
- 2:42:26where you were hosting the session, like you're seeing
- 2:42:29through the thinnest sheet and to a Dark World that exists just
- 2:42:34behind your vision, and you and whoever you may be with may
- 2:42:39start to feel scared, uneasy, or upset, seemingly for no other
- 2:42:46reason. Before or after this takes
- 2:42:49place. When you tell this entity
- 2:42:53goodbye, typically the best way to close a session, it may not
- 2:42:58truly be goodbye because often times depending on how long the
- 2:43:03session has been for, like an ever widening door, the entity
- 2:43:08may have had just enough time to sneak in to begin to wreak havoc
- 2:43:13upon your life. And thus begins what many
- 2:43:17demonologists and religious leaders alike call demonic
- 2:43:20obsession, which is where the entity becomes aware of you and
- 2:43:25begins to crave you, which then leads to oppression or begins to
- 2:43:31inflict various forms of torture upon you in an effort to break
- 2:43:36you down, whether that's physically, psychologically, or
- 2:43:41spiritually. It will also work to isolate you
- 2:43:45from others, especially those who care about you.
- 2:43:49And finally, if you're incredibly unlucky, possession
- 2:43:55or the entity finally takes control of you as its vessel.
- 2:44:01All of which to me are absolutely terrifying in every
- 2:44:04imaginable way. Darren Evans to this day
- 2:44:08continues to research the Zozo Phenomena, having been involved
- 2:44:13in the number of paranormal investigations, shows, and
- 2:44:17various other public and private events, as well as radio shows
- 2:44:22and podcasts, many of which he goes into various degrees of
- 2:44:26details regarding his encounters, other people's
- 2:44:30encounters, and other various historical details.
- 2:44:35He also in 2016 compiled his year's worth of research and
- 2:44:38experiences into a book also titled The Zozo Phenomena, which
- 2:44:44you can read and learn more about the entity and the topic
- 2:44:47as a whole. If you're interested, I'll link
- 2:44:50it below. I also pulled a lot of this
- 2:44:53information from various interviews which I'll also be
- 2:44:57linking below, as well as an older website he runs that
- 2:45:01doesn't seem to have been updated in a while but supplied
- 2:45:04me with much information to get the story as cohesive as I
- 2:45:08possibly could. I also sourced the photos of the
- 2:45:12apparitions from the site, some of which were taken by Evans
- 2:45:16himself over the years. So does this demon or ancient
- 2:45:21force truly exist? Is it some kind of elder God, a
- 2:45:27pre Christian deity or being or manifestation of occult or
- 2:45:33Luciferian practices? Did Darren Evans just make it up
- 2:45:38and did thousands of people find it interesting enough to make up
- 2:45:42their own stories and partake in a mass charade that has lasted
- 2:45:46years? All of these answers may never
- 2:45:49truly be known, but my opinion is this I think not only given
- 2:45:55the wide array of strange coincidences and details
- 2:45:59throughout history. From the origins, to the stories
- 2:46:02of this creature existing in distant past to the present, to
- 2:46:07literally thousands of people. From casual interest in the
- 2:46:11occult to more hardcore fanatics, religious scholars,
- 2:46:17demonologists, and more claiming to have had experiences with
- 2:46:22this thing. With all of these details in
- 2:46:24mind, I certainly think it very well could be real.
- 2:46:29I do think there are things that exist in the shadows, things we
- 2:46:33can't see or touch that are there watching and waiting to
- 2:46:39strike when and if the opportunity presents itself.
- 2:46:44So my advice to all of you to avoid any possibility of opening
- 2:46:49a door that you can't close and inviting evil into your life is
- 2:46:54this. Don't mess with Ouija boards.
- 2:46:58These things are not toys. Whether you believe it or not,
- 2:47:02these entities do exist and they believe in you.
- 2:47:07So keep away from them, because you might just let something in
- 2:47:11that won't want to leave even if you say goodbye.
- 2:47:22Lying dormant within the streets of suburbia, there is an unseen
- 2:47:27evil. Like a mouse falling into a pit
- 2:47:30of snakes, an unsuspecting family disturbed a slumbering
- 2:47:35force and became enshrouded in a.
- 2:47:39Fog of darkness. This is the untold story of the
- 2:47:44Bel Air House and the terrifying, malevolent entities
- 2:47:48that dwell within its walls. Bellaire, OH.
- 2:47:55An area rich in history was once known as Glass City.
- 2:47:59Having once been a major glass production hub in the late
- 2:48:031800s, is now known as the All American Town, having been used
- 2:48:09in many Hollywood productions as a backdrop for lots of movies,
- 2:48:14some of which you've probably seen over the years.
- 2:48:18The town that epitomizes small America's daily life has long
- 2:48:23since moved past its industrial days and has become known for
- 2:48:28something else. On the outskirts of the town
- 2:48:31lies an old two-story Victorian home that has become famous over
- 2:48:36the recent years, both among locals as well as across the
- 2:48:40country, with some saying it could be the most haunted place
- 2:48:44in the United States. If not the.
- 2:48:47World This is a bold statement to say the least, but the
- 2:48:51countless visitors to the house have reported strange,
- 2:48:55disturbing, and unexplainable encounters within its antique
- 2:49:00walls. But just how did the story
- 2:49:02begin? Where did the legend of the Bel
- 2:49:05Air house originate from? Let us first take a look at the
- 2:49:09home's dark history. Built in 1887 by a coal tycoon
- 2:49:16named Jacob Hetherington, the house sits adjacent from ancient
- 2:49:20Native American burial caves. It is also located where the
- 2:49:25scene of a massacre took place during the French and Indian
- 2:49:29War. It would sit on top of an active
- 2:49:33coal mine. For years before.
- 2:49:36There was a major explosion that took place within the mine,
- 2:49:40killing multiple men working deep within the earth directly
- 2:49:44underneath the house. Could the culmination of these
- 2:49:48tragic deaths have opened up a portal within the Bel Air house?
- 2:49:52A portal that allowed something to come through that wasn't
- 2:49:56supposed to be here? Shortly after this explosion is
- 2:50:00when the strange activity began. Jacob's son Alex moved into the
- 2:50:06home with his daughter, lied, but was soon stricken with
- 2:50:10seizures and hallucinations. He would ultimately be committed
- 2:50:15to an insane asylum for the rest of his life, claiming that
- 2:50:19demons were trying to kill him. As time progressed, Lyde would
- 2:50:25take charge of the family business, being helped by her
- 2:50:29younger brother Edwin. Lyde would tragically and
- 2:50:33unexpectedly pass away one morning in the kitchen of the
- 2:50:37home. Edwin.
- 2:50:39Now alone and grief stricken. Descended into mysticism and the
- 2:50:44occult in search of answers, he began to regularly host seances
- 2:50:50in the kitchen where his sister had passed away to attempt to
- 2:50:54make contact with her on the other side, and it is believed
- 2:50:58that contact was indeed made. But with who?
- 2:51:02Or? What is uncertain?
- 2:51:06In 2005, Kristen Lee and her family are desperate for a new
- 2:51:11home. Like a curse, for the second
- 2:51:14time in less than two years, a flash flood has destroyed their
- 2:51:18home and all of their possessions.
- 2:51:22Kristen, her two sons, Nicholas and Lane, along with their
- 2:51:26father Hefe, have been fortunate enough to room with friends
- 2:51:30during this difficult time. Kristen has continued to try and
- 2:51:34get the family back on their feet and no longer wants to
- 2:51:38burden her friends with the boarding of her family.
- 2:51:42So she constantly checks the real estate listings hoping to
- 2:51:45find a home that her and her family can finally settle down
- 2:51:49into. Given the circumstances, the
- 2:51:53family didn't have a big budget and would have to rebuild their
- 2:51:56lives from scratch. But soon her determination seems
- 2:52:01to pay off. While at work, Kristen often
- 2:52:05browses real estate websites for new listings as well as
- 2:52:08foreclosures and a new listing soon catches her eye.
- 2:52:14Recently foreclosed on but now available for purchase, she lays
- 2:52:18eyes on the old Victorian home for the first time.
- 2:52:22It's 4 bedrooms and two bathroom setup along with plenty of room
- 2:52:27would be perfect for her family. The price seems almost too good
- 2:52:31to be true for her. Budget as well.
- 2:52:34And although the listing lacks more details, it's like her
- 2:52:38prayers had finally been answered.
- 2:52:41But by what? Not wanting to lose the
- 2:52:45property, Kristen arranges a showing.
- 2:52:47Of the home as soon as possible, and before too long finds
- 2:52:52herself on the front steps of the Bel Air house.
- 2:52:56She is immediately taken in by the beautiful craftsmanship.
- 2:53:00Of the woodwork. The wrap around porch facing the
- 2:53:03Ohio River soon has her imagining peaceful evenings
- 2:53:07watching the water flow. Upon entering the home.
- 2:53:11She continues to be impressed. Old marble and cherry wood
- 2:53:16ordain the interior. Of the home.
- 2:53:18And it seems almost too perfect, like something straight out of
- 2:53:22her dreams. The family also has a dog named
- 2:53:26Bella, and the large fenced in backyard is perfect for her to
- 2:53:31run in and the boys to play in. Dumbfounded by her luck, Kristen
- 2:53:36puts in an offer on the House that evening and it's accepted
- 2:53:40the following morning. After two years of chaos and
- 2:53:44uncertainty, the Lee family can finally breathe again and start
- 2:53:49living a normal life. But just as all seems quiet and
- 2:53:53settled, the family begins to discover that the house is
- 2:53:57anything but normal at first. Upon hearing odd noises in the
- 2:54:02night, the family wrote off the sounds as nothing more than
- 2:54:06anxiety and an old house. Being slightly scared or anxious
- 2:54:11upon moving into a new place, particularly following a very
- 2:54:15uncertain time in one's life, is not out of the ordinary.
- 2:54:19But these sounds soon become too much to dismiss.
- 2:54:22They soon begin to hear footsteps at all hours of the
- 2:54:25day and night. Kristen would later describe the
- 2:54:28activity as so. I would hear footsteps above and
- 2:54:32sometimes below me, even when there was no one else home but
- 2:54:36me. And I always felt as if there
- 2:54:38were thousands of eyes staring at me at all times, watching my
- 2:54:44every move. Along with the strange noises,
- 2:54:47items soon begin to go missing. From keys to towels to trinkets.
- 2:54:531 moment they would be there and within seconds they would
- 2:54:57vanish. And Kristen isn't the only one
- 2:55:00experiencing strange happenings within the Bel Air house at the
- 2:55:05time. Her 12 year old son Nicholas
- 2:55:07begins to experience a malevolent force that seems to
- 2:55:11dwell within his bedroom. At first, he too begins to feel
- 2:55:15as if he's being watched at all times, and it seems to get
- 2:55:19exponentially worse at night. He begins to have night terrors,
- 2:55:24feeling someone or something covering his mouth and nose,
- 2:55:29forcing him to suffocate. One night, he wakes up in a cold
- 2:55:33sweat. It's storming outside.
- 2:55:37Flashes of lightning occasionally light up the room.
- 2:55:40What he sees disturbs him to his core, in the corner of his room
- 2:55:47towards his closet as a burst of light fills the.
- 2:55:50Room. He sees a blackened figure
- 2:55:53staring at. Him.
- 2:55:55And shaking profusely, The young boy is utterly terrified.
- 2:56:02Rushing out of his room as fast as he possibly can, he wakes up
- 2:56:06his mother and refuses to sleep there any longer.
- 2:56:10The boy is so hysterical, the only solution was to send him to
- 2:56:14his grandmother's house, located 30 minutes away.
- 2:56:19What makes this case all the more compelling is that Kristen
- 2:56:22has a master's degree in psychology and works as a mental
- 2:56:26health physician. With this, her professional
- 2:56:30opinion of what Nicholas had experienced was initially
- 2:56:34contributed to stress and fatigue, both common factors
- 2:56:37that tend to make the human mind see and experience things.
- 2:56:41That aren't really there. And these probably could explain
- 2:56:45many similar situations, and most would agree.
- 2:56:49However, Kristin's view would soon undergo A radical change
- 2:56:54after one terrifying experience of her own.
- 2:56:58After months of strange happenings within the home, it
- 2:57:02was now winter and the Lee family, still tied on finances,
- 2:57:07was sleeping in the basement near the fireplace to save money
- 2:57:11on the gas bill. Hefe was asleep in a recliner
- 2:57:15and Lane as well as Kristen were asleep on the wrap around couch
- 2:57:20located in the corner of the room.
- 2:57:22All seemed normal until Kristen was woken up by the feeling of
- 2:57:27the couch cushion being pressed down near her legs.
- 2:57:31She then found herself face to face with a terrifying figure of
- 2:57:36a man staring directly at her. She would later describe the.
- 2:57:40Encounter as so. I woke up being face to face
- 2:57:44with this Gray figure of a man. He was translucent, almost like
- 2:57:49a mist, but the mist had features like a person.
- 2:57:55The face was completely emotionless and had dark sunken
- 2:57:59in eyes. Kristen asked.
- 2:58:02Who are you? What are you doing here?
- 2:58:05What do you want but to? No response, just a blank,
- 2:58:11lifeless stare. Within seconds the apparition
- 2:58:16disappears, but before she can ponder what had just taken
- 2:58:20place, the silence is once again shattered.
- 2:58:24But by this time it was the family dog, Bella, who was
- 2:58:28barking and running around the room.
- 2:58:31Kristen, attempting to keep her family asleep through the
- 2:58:34ordeal, tries to quiet the dog down and notices that she can
- 2:58:39see her. Breath in the air.
- 2:58:41And although it's cold outside, it's not nearly that cold near
- 2:58:45the fireplace. She then sees the figure
- 2:58:48materialize once more and silently moved from one side of
- 2:58:52the room and through the wall on the other side, vanishing
- 2:58:57completely. No longer wanting to face
- 2:59:00whatever this was alone, she woke up her husband and told him
- 2:59:04what had just taken place. His response, however?
- 2:59:09Was that she was too tired. And needed to go back to sleep.
- 2:59:14Could what Kristen had experienced been a stress or
- 2:59:17fatigue induced hallucination? Perhaps.
- 2:59:21But someone with a professional background such as herself
- 2:59:24surely would know how to differentiate, wouldn't you
- 2:59:27think? Finally, knowing she's not crazy
- 2:59:31and totally convinced that the home was haunted, Kristen begins
- 2:59:36to try and make plans to get her family.
- 2:59:38Out of the Bel Air house. And to safety elsewhere.
- 2:59:43As soon as she can, she puts the home up for sale and moves the
- 2:59:47family to a nearby rental home. Although she's relieved to no
- 2:59:51longer physically be in the house, no one is buying it to
- 2:59:56try and cover expenses. She has no other choice other
- 3:00:00than to make the house a rental property.
- 3:00:03But almost as soon as the first family moves in.
- 3:00:06They move out. And this kick starts a revolving
- 3:00:09door of tenants seemingly stuck with the house.
- 3:00:14Kristen comes to the conclusion that no family will or should
- 3:00:17live there. So what should be done with a
- 3:00:20haunted property? Needing to make ends meet, she
- 3:00:24comes up with a unique idea. She turns the home into an
- 3:00:28afterlife research property. This would allow various groups
- 3:00:32to come in conduct their own research on just what exactly
- 3:00:36was taking place within the Bel Air House.
- 3:00:40And the idea works. Soon groups from all over the
- 3:00:44United States and Canada are travelling to temporarily live
- 3:00:48within the home to conduct research.
- 3:00:52And from here we gain some more interesting stories, to say the
- 3:00:56least. One group, who calls themselves
- 3:01:00the Armchair Researchers from upstate New York, consists of
- 3:01:04two women, one being a birthing nurse and the other a nurse who
- 3:01:09works with dying patients. They found paranormal and
- 3:01:13afterlife research to be a natural extension of their day
- 3:01:17jobs for the last 15 years. After hearing about the Bel Air
- 3:01:22house, they soon find themselves driving to Ohio to investigate
- 3:01:27the phenomena for themselves. First impressions tend to go a
- 3:01:31long way, and the first impression the women got upon
- 3:01:34their arrival was very creepy. The home by this point was in a
- 3:01:40moderate state of decay. The fence that had once
- 3:01:43surrounded the backyard was mostly blown down, and the
- 3:01:47exterior of the home as well as the porch was weathered and
- 3:01:52rotting. But despite the odd feelings
- 3:01:55initially, they make their way inside now.
- 3:01:59At first they actually felt welcomed, almost invited in,
- 3:02:04greeted by the same cherry wood interior that has greeted
- 3:02:07everyone. But as soon as they set up their
- 3:02:10equipment and prepare for their stay, as day turns to night,
- 3:02:15there seems to be a shift in energy within the home.
- 3:02:19The shift went from warm and inviting to dark and ominous.
- 3:02:25Then began the noises, banging, footsteps and the moving of
- 3:02:31furniture. The ladies also noted the
- 3:02:34feeling of being watched everywhere they went while
- 3:02:38asking probing questions. As they wandered throughout the
- 3:02:40house, they would soon also witness strange lights in
- 3:02:44various parts of the home. And along with the lights, there
- 3:02:49soon also came full blown apparitions, all of which seem
- 3:02:53to be centered around the basement.
- 3:02:56And as the night progressed, so did their feelings of anxiety.
- 3:03:01While taking a short break and sitting down on one of the
- 3:03:03couches in the basement, the two heard what they described as a
- 3:03:07large crashing noise above. Them.
- 3:03:10As if someone or something had thrown a bookshelf across the
- 3:03:14house itself, shaking the entire home.
- 3:03:19Absolutely terrified and panicked, the women
- 3:03:22apprehensively made their way up the stairs and rushed out of the
- 3:03:26home as fast as they possibly could, leaving behind equipment
- 3:03:30and personal items they were too frightened to go back.
- 3:03:35Upon learning of what had taken place, Kristen wasn't at all
- 3:03:39surprised. Over the years, there have been
- 3:03:41dozens of teams of people who couldn't seem to last the night
- 3:03:45for one experience or another. People have been scratched,
- 3:03:49pushed down stairs, punched, bitten, and even in one instance
- 3:03:56thrown across the room by a violent and unseen force.
- 3:04:01Another noteworthy story comes from a team located locally
- 3:04:05there in Ohio. They have had the opportunity to
- 3:04:08visit the home and conduct investigations numerous times
- 3:04:12over the years, but their experience, in particular one
- 3:04:16night, truly makes me question just what exactly haunts the Bel
- 3:04:20Air House. There was three of them this
- 3:04:23time, and it was shortly after midnight when they made their
- 3:04:26way into the attic to continue their investigation.
- 3:04:30During their questioning, they seemed to be getting direct
- 3:04:33interaction with something through their spirit box.
- 3:04:37Then towards the corner of the attic, a mist seemed to
- 3:04:42materialize coming up from the attic floor, slowly enveloping
- 3:04:47the group. Glancing down, they were now too
- 3:04:51stunned to speak. They saw what appeared to be
- 3:04:54thousands of black snake like creatures, Slytherin, over their
- 3:04:59feet and onto their legs. The creatures then began to form
- 3:05:04a figure standing in front of one of the attic windows, a
- 3:05:08creature of pure darkness that seemed to stare at them with
- 3:05:13thousands of tiny beady eyes. The crew, which consisted of two
- 3:05:19men and a woman, ran for their lives, descending the attic
- 3:05:24stairs as quickly as possible, leaving behind anything and
- 3:05:28everything that they had brought with them that wasn't located on
- 3:05:31their person and out of the home for good.
- 3:05:35All of these stories and experiences have led many to
- 3:05:38believe that the Bel Air House is some kind of magnet for
- 3:05:41paranormal activity. A magnet or a host to a portal
- 3:05:46for spirits, whether that portal was opened by the tragedy that
- 3:05:51took place within the mind that once existed below its
- 3:05:54foundation, or one that was open due to seances being conducted
- 3:05:59within the house on multiple occasions.
- 3:06:02But over the. Years, many different entities
- 3:06:05have been documented, from what appear to be human ghosts to
- 3:06:09perhaps something more sinister. A child that drowned in the Ohio
- 3:06:13River that flows right by the home.
- 3:06:17Her room is allegedly the same room that Kristen's son Nicholas
- 3:06:21once stayed in. And besides the basement, it
- 3:06:25also seems to be a hotspot for paranormal activity.
- 3:06:29Through various. Investigations once contact has
- 3:06:33been made and trust seems to be gained.
- 3:06:36People are often. Attacked, which have led many to
- 3:06:39believe that Emily isn't a child at all, but a demon.
- 3:06:45Perhaps it could be the same demonic creature that frightened
- 3:06:48Nicholas so bad. That he moved out of the home as
- 3:06:52previously mentioned. Many investigators also have
- 3:06:56claimed to have some activity follow them home and even haunt
- 3:07:00their. Dreams.
- 3:07:02As if the house or the beings within the house.
- 3:07:06Are calling out to them. To come back for one reason or
- 3:07:10another. Although many questions may
- 3:07:13never be answered surrounding the Bel Air House, one thing is
- 3:07:17for certain, it continues to be considered one of the most
- 3:07:21haunted places in America, if not the world.
- 3:07:25It also continues to serve as a place of study for those wanting
- 3:07:29to investigate the supernatural forces that dwell within its
- 3:07:33walls. But if you find yourself being
- 3:07:37drawn to the old Victorian, just know that if you're not,
- 3:07:40careful. You too could find yourself
- 3:07:44being made a part of its history, whether you'd.
- 3:07:47Like it or not, over the years I've covered a wide.
- 3:07:53Array of mysteries from the Mothman to UFOs, conspiracies to
- 3:07:59cold cases. And one topic that seemed to
- 3:08:02resonate more with all of you and one that I've always found
- 3:08:05fascinating is hauntings, whether that's haunted places,
- 3:08:10haunted people, or experiences that people have had that they
- 3:08:14would consider paranormal in nature.
- 3:08:18So today I'm trying something new.
- 3:08:20And don't worry, this is adding content here on Mystery
- 3:08:23Archives. So there will still be episodes
- 3:08:26of the Untold Story for you to enjoy.
- 3:08:29Those just take a good chunk of time to produce.
- 3:08:31So in between those episodes, I'd really like to share stories
- 3:08:36from you guys, the community, to bring awareness that these kinds
- 3:08:40of experiences really do happen. And having grown up in a haunted
- 3:08:44home myself, I know that oftentimes people are hesitant
- 3:08:48to share their stories for fear of ridicule or for fear of
- 3:08:52whatever they've experienced flaring up again and reigniting
- 3:08:56their personal nightmare. This platform will hopefully
- 3:09:00give their stories justice, have them heard and give you a
- 3:09:04glimpse into what people like yourselves have experienced.
- 3:09:09These are your paranormal encounters when a young family
- 3:09:17encounters the devil and the flesh.
- 3:09:20Told from the perspective of a young girl.
- 3:09:23This terrifying tale will have you questioning just what could
- 3:09:27be happening across the street from you, next door, or even in
- 3:09:32your very own home. I was almost 7 when these events
- 3:09:38took place and I'll be 40 later this year.
- 3:09:42I lived in the Glendale. Apartments in Rock Hill, SC.
- 3:09:47My baby brother at the time wasn't quite even a year old.
- 3:09:51Now my mom was young when she had me at 17, and my stepdad
- 3:09:55Keith was exactly 2 months to the day older than her.
- 3:10:00My mom has been gone for 14 years now, but I still remember
- 3:10:04this day like it was yesterday. We had left to get dinner that
- 3:10:08night and by the time we had gotten back, Keith was passed
- 3:10:12out in the front seat of his little hatchback Mustang in the
- 3:10:15parking lot. This was the first of two that
- 3:10:18would find themselves wrapped around trees in my town.
- 3:10:21Keith was suffering from what would later be diagnosed as
- 3:10:25schizophrenia with bipolar tendencies and had seemingly
- 3:10:29been self medicating to alleviate his symptoms since he
- 3:10:34was asleep. My mom urged me not to wake him
- 3:10:38as I helped her get my infant brother at the time out of the
- 3:10:41car and into our apartment. As we began to wind down for the
- 3:10:45evening, our phone began to ring, shattering the calm.
- 3:10:50Peace. That was our lives.
- 3:10:53It was Keith's mom, Mary. She lived on the other side of
- 3:10:57the complex, which mostly housed old people and people with
- 3:11:01disabilities. She sounded panicked, screaming
- 3:11:06that something was happening in her apartment, that she needed
- 3:11:09help immediately. My mom rushed to go wake Keith
- 3:11:13up out in the parking lot, but upon running up to the car, he
- 3:11:17was nowhere to be found. She rushed back into our
- 3:11:21apartment, saying that she couldn't find Keith when he
- 3:11:25suddenly appeared in the hallway and neither of us had seen him
- 3:11:29come into the apartment. He seemed completely out of it
- 3:11:33and was terrified, saying that something was taking him over
- 3:11:39and that he couldn't control himself.
- 3:11:41I saw his eyes, they were black. My mother didn't have time to
- 3:11:47deal with or process his antics and gathered us to walk to his
- 3:11:51mother's apartment. In the meantime.
- 3:11:54As we rushed over there as fast as we could, I remember getting
- 3:11:58a skin crawling feeling every time Keith looked at me, like it
- 3:12:02was something completely foreign to this world peering into my
- 3:12:06soul. We arrived and we're quickly let
- 3:12:09into Mary's apartment. Her lights were flickering and
- 3:12:13her pictures were swaying back and forth on the walls.
- 3:12:17A heavy presence could be felt by all of us.
- 3:12:21Mary was deeply religious and couldn't understand just what
- 3:12:24was taking place, but she believed it to be evil.
- 3:12:28Keith was now standing in the living room and began to sway
- 3:12:32back and forth as the activity seemed to intensify.
- 3:12:37As my mother approached him to ask what he was doing, he began
- 3:12:41to laugh. This was the deepest, most
- 3:12:44maniacal laugh I have ever heard and I still get chills thinking
- 3:12:49about it. This voice was not his own.
- 3:12:53My mother quickly backed up, unsure of what to do, and he
- 3:12:57then began to point at me. Saying.
- 3:13:00I'm going to sacrifice that child tonight.
- 3:13:04His eyes were now blood red. Mary, by this time had grabbed
- 3:13:09some of her belongings. From her room.
- 3:13:12And happened to have some blessed oil along with her
- 3:13:14Bible. She threw the oil on Keith's
- 3:13:17face and it began to boil. The sound of sizzling and
- 3:13:22screaming was horrific. My mother's love for Keith
- 3:13:27quickly overpowered her fear and she pulled him into the bathroom
- 3:13:30to examine his face. She was freaking out to say the
- 3:13:34least, partially because of how unbelievable the circumstances
- 3:13:39were and just how badly he was burnt on his face.
- 3:13:44His eyes at this point were rolled into the back of his
- 3:13:47head. Then suddenly, without warning,
- 3:13:51he rushed my mom and pinned her against the wall.
- 3:13:55His younger sister Nikki and his mother quickly rushed in to help
- 3:13:59free her, with Mary dumping more oil on him each time.
- 3:14:05His skin literally sizzled where it landed.
- 3:14:09This fortunately worked. Keith now laid catatonic on the
- 3:14:13bathroom floor so all together as girls moved him into a nearby
- 3:14:18bedroom and restrain him to the bed using anything we could find
- 3:14:23for our own safety. Shortly after we did this, his
- 3:14:27mother called the nearby oratory and asked for a priest to assist
- 3:14:31us. Immediately.
- 3:14:33Nikki, who was a teenager at the time, was trying to comfort me,
- 3:14:38telling me that Keith was just really sick and not to be
- 3:14:41scared. She encouraged me to try and get
- 3:14:44some sleep and I of course couldn't and wouldn't.
- 3:14:49I didn't dare close my eyes for fear of that thing hurting my
- 3:14:53mom. And this room with Keith was a
- 3:14:56picture of Jesus kneeling on top of a mountain, I heard.
- 3:15:00Keith laughing in that. Otherworldly voice.
- 3:15:04He called out to me. He said, you know, little girl,
- 3:15:09I used to be an Angel with the most beautiful wings until that
- 3:15:13bastard was born. Then I was cast from atop that
- 3:15:18mountain and banished. I asked who are you?
- 3:15:23The Devil? He perked up, looked me dead in
- 3:15:27my eyes, and said I am Lucifer the Lightbringer.
- 3:15:32Here in the flesh. I'm not only taking Keith with
- 3:15:36me, but all of you as well. Now untie me.
- 3:15:42I ran hysterically to my mother who was having a cigarette to
- 3:15:45calm her nerves. She ran into the room to comfort
- 3:15:48him when he said do you want to see proof and against her will.
- 3:15:53My. Mother then extinguished the
- 3:15:55cigarette into his arm with Keith exclaiming, It feels so
- 3:16:00good. You'll have to adjust to the
- 3:16:03searing flames, but in due time, you too will call it home.
- 3:16:09She then rushed out of the room and closed the door.
- 3:16:12We waited with bated breath for the priest to arrive when
- 3:16:16shortly after 3:00 AM there was a knock on the door.
- 3:16:20Thank God it was him. For the next several hours they
- 3:16:24attempted to cast this thing out of Keith.
- 3:16:27Probably for the best. They kept me in the living room
- 3:16:30away from the demonic terror that was inhabiting his body.
- 3:16:34But my God, the smells that wafted throughout the complex
- 3:16:39like putrid meat and sulfur. I soon also heard moaning and
- 3:16:45growling from dogs that didn't exist.
- 3:16:50There was a strange fog that had enveloped the apartment itself,
- 3:16:54and a strange flickering light that now emanated from the room
- 3:16:59or the exorcism was taking place.
- 3:17:02I began to close my eyes and pray to God harder than I'd ever
- 3:17:06prayed before, wanting and wishing for all of it to end,
- 3:17:12when suddenly it did. Keith had seemingly been freed
- 3:17:16of these spiritual shackles and although I was terrified, I was
- 3:17:21more than wanting to finally get some sleep.
- 3:17:25So after the priest departed and all seemed fine, we slowly made
- 3:17:29our way back home through the damp, misty morning that was now
- 3:17:34upon us. Upon arriving home and heading
- 3:17:37inside, we all began to make our way to our bedrooms to try and
- 3:17:42sleep. I found myself in my bed, comfy
- 3:17:47and finally about to rest when I felt my bed shake.
- 3:17:52I quickly opened my eyes to find my bed off the floor and my
- 3:17:56bedpost balls screwed off each one in the corner of each post.
- 3:18:02Floating there. I screamed harder than I've ever
- 3:18:06screamed before, alerting my mother who rushed to save me.
- 3:18:11Upon her running in, my bed suddenly slammed to the ground
- 3:18:15and my bedpost balls all fell to the floor.
- 3:18:20The events of that night and the following morning can never be
- 3:18:23forgotten by me and my family for the next.
- 3:18:26Year and a half we. Dealt with similar smells
- 3:18:29wafting throughout our apartment, unseen snarls and
- 3:18:32growls, and a feeling of anxiety as if our every move was being
- 3:18:38watched. But thank God it all eventually
- 3:18:42faded. I had since asked Keith how he
- 3:18:44came to be in that state, but I could never really get a clear
- 3:18:49answer. He often drank moonshine and was
- 3:18:52in a bad state mentally and spiritually at the time.
- 3:18:56Perhaps this weakened him enough to let something in somehow.
- 3:19:00I've since moved on from that place, but heard something very
- 3:19:04interesting that I'd also like to share in regards to him.
- 3:19:08This was the apartment we lived in and a young boy mysteriously
- 3:19:11passed away within it not too long ago.
- 3:19:14The details of the case are hard to find, but I believe he was
- 3:19:18about as old as I was when everything had taken place to
- 3:19:21us. There has also been multiple
- 3:19:24shootings, stabbings, and murders that have taken place
- 3:19:28near and in the complex itself. It seems like whatever possessed
- 3:19:33Keith and stalked us may be never truly left.
- 3:19:39I'm glad to share my story with all of you and I just want you
- 3:19:42to know that these things are very real.
- 3:19:45The paranormal is real and please do not meddle with it
- 3:19:51because you just don't know what you could be inviting in this
- 3:19:55energy. This evil wanted my soul and it
- 3:20:00seems like it may have taken multiple lives and pursuit of
- 3:20:04whatever nefarious things it wanted.
- 3:20:09Leia I would like to thank Leia for submitting this chilling
- 3:20:14story of an. Exorcism.
- 3:20:16That took place. To her stepfather, when she.
- 3:20:19Was a child. The entire situation must have
- 3:20:22been terrifying to endure, to say the least, and I commend her
- 3:20:27for being willing to share this with us and warn others that
- 3:20:30these things are very real indeed.
- 3:20:34I also believe it's important to bring awareness to these kinds
- 3:20:37of topics for a number of reasons.
- 3:20:40I am curious just how Keith became possessed, however, and
- 3:20:44if it was. Truly.
- 3:20:45By Lucifer himself or something? Pretending to be him all around
- 3:20:51a terrifying tale from Leia upon laying her head down to sleep, a
- 3:20:59young woman is seemingly. Transported to another time.
- 3:21:03Or place where she interacts with malevolent spirits.
- 3:21:08This one may just make you wonder if the very same has ever
- 3:21:12happened to you. One hot Saturday morning in
- 3:21:162001, my ex-husband Dean and I went to the grocery store.
- 3:21:22By the time we returned home and put everything away, it was
- 3:21:26almost noon. I prepared some lunch for us and
- 3:21:30by two PMI announced that the heat had made me feel so very
- 3:21:34tired and that I would need to lie down.
- 3:21:37Dean would go on to watch TV with the volume on low and I
- 3:21:41closed the bedroom door. As soon as my head hit the
- 3:21:44pillow I went out like a light. Then in what seemed like only 5
- 3:21:49minutes later I was woken up by a lady speaking beside my bed.
- 3:21:55It was if she was addressing another person, but yet in a
- 3:21:59crystal clear voice across the room, she said something along
- 3:22:03the lines of don't disturb her, let her sleep this.
- 3:22:08Startled me. I immediately sat up in my bed
- 3:22:12and I looked around but saw nothing.
- 3:22:15I knew I wasn't dreaming as the voice was real and yet spoke at
- 3:22:19an audible enough level even to wake me up.
- 3:22:22Regardless whether a dream or real, I was too exhausted and
- 3:22:27quickly fell asleep again. Now this is where things took a
- 3:22:31stranger turn. I felt my soul leave my body.
- 3:22:36It rose up to where the wall met the ceiling.
- 3:22:39I crossed through the wall and into another place.
- 3:22:42In time, I was no longer within my home but found myself in a
- 3:22:47scene from the 18th century. It was similar to watching a
- 3:22:52black and white film, but in varying Shades of Grey.
- 3:22:57I saw a few people who were extravagantly dressed and wore
- 3:23:00coiffed and powdered wigs, sitting on a plush Steven and
- 3:23:04some armchairs. They sat almost motionless by a
- 3:23:08small, low lying table. Only the woman slowly looked
- 3:23:12about, but nobody seemed to notice me.
- 3:23:16I looked to my left and saw a couple standing still, arms held
- 3:23:21in an arch above in the air, hands touching, poised, as if
- 3:23:27waiting for music to start for their dance.
- 3:23:31I looked past them and saw a few men, one at each small table,
- 3:23:36just sitting quietly and motionless.
- 3:23:40Then I looked to my right, past the few people I initially saw
- 3:23:45and looked in awe at the sight before me.
- 3:23:48I realized I was in a vast hall, as far as the eye could see.
- 3:23:52I saw no other people and the next thing I knew I was back in
- 3:23:57my body, seemingly asleep yet aware of my surroundings.
- 3:24:04I was made aware of the large crowd of people outside of my
- 3:24:07bedroom door. The sound was similar to what
- 3:24:10you would hear in a crowded bar, many people talking amongst
- 3:24:14themselves. However, there was one woman's
- 3:24:17voice that could be heard slightly above the rest of the
- 3:24:20crowd. I didn't paid any special
- 3:24:23attention as I wasn't focusing on anyone in particular, nor
- 3:24:27catch what she had said. And what was only a moment
- 3:24:30later, that same voice was louder and closer, this time
- 3:24:35just on the other side of my bedroom door.
- 3:24:38Although I paid a little more attention now, what she said was
- 3:24:42still indiscernible and the voice was yet to be one that I
- 3:24:47recognized. A voice belonging to a stranger.
- 3:24:51In what seemed just another moment.
- 3:24:52Again, she opened the door, stepped into my room, and then
- 3:24:57shut the door behind her. I laid frozen in my bed, unable
- 3:25:02to move, yet I felt real terror at this point, although I
- 3:25:07couldn't move at all, my eyes were fixed atop of the wall.
- 3:25:10Somehow, with my mind's eye, I saw her.
- 3:25:14It was my mother, who had passed away 21 years earlier.
- 3:25:19She wore a long white shroud which I never got to see her in,
- 3:25:23but I knew that she had been buried in one by now.
- 3:25:27I was totally terrified. I wanted to scream out for help,
- 3:25:32better still to get out of there, but I wasn't able to move
- 3:25:35a muscle. I watched my mother pace to and
- 3:25:39fro past the foot of my bed in absolute rage.
- 3:25:44She was so angry with me, she was literally spitting mad while
- 3:25:48she was scolding me. Never had I seen her this angry.
- 3:25:52The one thing I did notice once my mother's spirit had entered
- 3:25:56the room was that while my eyes were fixed near the ceiling, it
- 3:26:00was within my range of sight that I'd seen a soft white
- 3:26:05gaseous ball of light appear to my right at the corner of the
- 3:26:09ceiling. It was about the size of a
- 3:26:11basketball, though not quite as spherical.
- 3:26:14It was so very slow moving, like a swirl of white smoke within
- 3:26:19itself. Somehow I felt like it was
- 3:26:21protecting me from this evil, like a guardian Angel.
- 3:26:25Once my mother was done raging at me, she faced the door and
- 3:26:29held the door slightly open. She paused and told me that I'd
- 3:26:35be dead by midnight tonight. She then shut the door behind
- 3:26:39her and left. As soon as she was out the door,
- 3:26:43the ball of light had dissipated too, and I felt instant relief.
- 3:26:48I looked at the clock and it was now 3:00 PM.
- 3:26:52All of this strangeness took place in the space of 1
- 3:26:56terrifying hour. I still don't know if that was
- 3:26:59the spirit of my mother or something evil imitating her.
- 3:27:03All I know is that I jumped out of bed and rushed to the lounge
- 3:27:06room, telling Dean what I had seen.
- 3:27:10Though I didn't mention my mother's parting words, Dean
- 3:27:13wasn't remotely interested. He only mumbled as I interrupted
- 3:27:17him watching his program. Well, that was the end of the
- 3:27:21nap I wasn't quite able to get. As evening approached, I
- 3:27:25constantly glanced at my watch. Although we retired for the day
- 3:27:29at about 10:00 PM that night, I was fearful yet resigned in my
- 3:27:33fate. I hadn't told the soul about my
- 3:27:36mother's message in case it tempted fate.
- 3:27:39On waking the next morning, I couldn't have felt more relieved
- 3:27:43and thrilled to still be alive now that it felt safe to do so.
- 3:27:47I told Dean and later my neighbor about it all.
- 3:27:51They showed me the goosebumps on their arms and expressed fear as
- 3:27:55I recounted my experience. This was 22 years ago and I
- 3:28:00still think of that day and the sheer terror that it brought me.
- 3:28:03It's a day that I can never forget, Johanna.
- 3:28:09That story was chilling. Johanna, I too am curious if it
- 3:28:13was some kind of spirit impersonating your mother or if
- 3:28:16it was somehow her. The detail of what she was
- 3:28:20wearing also happened to be what she was buried in.
- 3:28:23Literally gave me goosebumps. So thank you so much for sharing
- 3:28:27your story and continuing to bring awareness to these topics.
- 3:28:33A young man seemingly interacts with his grandmother who has
- 3:28:37long since passed away, but he isn't the only one that sees and
- 3:28:42feels her presence. This was in reference to
- 3:28:47watching one of my videos. Watching this video reminded me
- 3:28:52of something. That's been going on.
- 3:28:53In my house, my wife's grandmother died before we got
- 3:28:57together and her son was the last person in the hospital room
- 3:29:01with her when she passed. Now my work schedule varies, but
- 3:29:06generally I'm up between 3:00 and 4:00 AM every day.
- 3:29:10Sometimes I feel a presence or I thought I saw what was a shadow
- 3:29:16and my peripheral vision. I finally told my wife about
- 3:29:20this a while back and she proceeded to tell me that her
- 3:29:24autistic son regularly speaks to his deceased grandmother.
- 3:29:29We've both spoken to him multiple times and apparently
- 3:29:32she visits him constantly. My wife.
- 3:29:35Admitted that she's. Seen her in our house a couple
- 3:29:38of times as well. I've offered to have the house
- 3:29:41cleansed. But.
- 3:29:42My wife said no. Apparently his grandmother
- 3:29:45visits him all the time and watches over him and he's
- 3:29:49admitted that he still sees her. He's autistic so he's very
- 3:29:54honest with everything. I'd like your guys's input about
- 3:29:58this. Thank you caveman.
- 3:30:03Well caveman especially since he's autistic.
- 3:30:06That really does convince me of his sincerity and honesty.
- 3:30:10The young man clearly doesn't have a motivation to gain
- 3:30:13anything by saying this. And when you have felt this
- 3:30:16presence, is it as she was in life?
- 3:30:20Is it more of a benevolent energy or something else?
- 3:30:24It's also very interesting that your wife has seen her on
- 3:30:27multiple occasions as well. Perhaps she is watching over her
- 3:30:31grandson. Children often have an extra
- 3:30:34sense, it seems like, to be able to interact with the spirit
- 3:30:38world. Reading your story reminded me
- 3:30:41of when my brother was younger and we had a very similar
- 3:30:44situation. My mom's father, Paul, had
- 3:30:48passed away in their family home in 2002 when my brother was.
- 3:30:52Just two years. Old Prior to his passing, Paul
- 3:30:57seemed to be motioning for things to go away, things that
- 3:31:01we couldn't see, perhaps trying to state that he wasn't ready to
- 3:31:05go yet. Several months after his
- 3:31:07passing, with my grandmother Agnes still inhabiting the very
- 3:31:11same house, my brother Kaden had started to interact with
- 3:31:15something that we couldn't see. He would often play around the
- 3:31:19living room, which was the same room my grandfather passed away
- 3:31:23in One day when he was in a full conversation with this person,
- 3:31:28my mother asked him who he was talking to and he said Grandpa
- 3:31:33Paul. It took the very breath out of
- 3:31:36her lungs. These interactions were fairly
- 3:31:40frequent until he was about four or five years old.
- 3:31:43Then they suddenly. Went away 1.
- 3:31:45Day it truly makes one beg the question just how often do our
- 3:31:50loved ones truly watch over us? Thanks for sharing this one
- 3:31:54caveman. Thank you all for watching.

- 3:32:10mentioned in the beginning of this video, I think it's very
- 3:32:13important to bring awareness to the paranormal question.
- 3:32:17It, in a sense, is the ultimate question in my opinion, what
- 3:32:21truly happens when we pass through the veil of this reality
- 3:32:24and into the afterlife. I appreciate all of you as
