- 0:03Sean McAllister: What do you think of the hard rock guitar tower that's going up here in Vegas?
- 0:08Sean McAllister: We hit the strip and talk to some visitors.
- 0:10Dayna Roselli: Plus, we answer fan mail from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 0:14Sean McAllister: Jason Aldeans kicks off a weekend football brunch.
- 0:18Dayna Roselli: Tom's unveils a non-smoking area on the casino floor.
- 0:22Sean McAllister: And there's so much more.
- 0:23Sean McAllister: Let's get to it.
- 0:25Dayna Roselli: Vegas Revealed starts now.
- 0:28Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 340.
- 0:32Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dayna Roselli here from the entertainment capital of the world.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: And we just wrapped up um last week a satellite media tour.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: We told you we were going to do this and that we did it and all that kind of thing, but I was laughing because we call it satellite, because back in the day we were satellite.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: And then I noticed someone called it a broadcast media tour, and I was like, oh well, we're still old school.
- 0:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, times change.
- 0:53Sean McAllister: We we don't use satellites anymore.
- 0:55Sean McAllister: It used to be like the whole thing you had to bring out a satellite truck and get the uplink and all that stuff.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: The coordinates to tune in for the stations that are working with you.
- 1:05Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: Now it's Zoom.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: It was a whole thing.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:08Dayna Roselli: Zoom, nice and easy, right?
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: It's crazy.
- 1:10Dayna Roselli: Um, but we had fun.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: Last week we did talk about it and we we told you that we did this.
- 1:14Dayna Roselli: But um we just were laughing because we actually were interviewed by uh one of the anchors in Salt Lake City who said, Hey, are you guys uh do you know if there's any show deals for my Uncle Donnie's show?
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, What?
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: Um, but apparently Donnie Osmond's nephew is an anchor in Salt Lake City.
- 1:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, David Osmond.
- 1:31Sean McAllister: And uh so once he said, Hey, my Uncle Donnie, I was like, Oh, because I know that you know there are some uh Osmond family members who who work in TV in in Salt Lake, and David is one of them, so it was good to connect with him when we said, Yeah, actually, David, uh you get 30% off with during this five-day sale of Las Vegas that's now over.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Um, and then it was funny enough, we went to interview Donny Osmond later that afternoon.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: But they have a big family, they have a very big family, yes.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 2:03Dayna Roselli: Um, we had a blast with Donny.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: We'll have that interview another time.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: We look forward to sharing it.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: Always so good to see him.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: But something we noticed when we were walking through Harrah's on a Tuesday afternoon, we walked in like 2 45 p.m.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: and it was packed.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: It was so busy.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking like people on the casino floor gambling.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: Right.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: You know, roulette, the whole nine.
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: And I was like, huh, this is a good sign.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: Because you always see, you know, on Twitter and threads, everyone going back and forth with Vegas is doing so bad.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: People are like, I don't know what you're talking about because I couldn't even find a parking spot last night.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: Or I the event I went to was slammed.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: And we've always said it's kind of situational based, but this was just 245 in the afternoon.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: So again, it was like, wow.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 2:48Sean McAllister: And hopefully, uh, that five-day sale that once again has wrapped up by now.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: Um, hopefully people did take advantage of the deals that were being offered because uh hotel rooms were up to 60% off, lots of deals on entertainment attractions.
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: Um lots of breakfasts included and hundred dollar food credits, and that's always good because Vegas, you know, because I think people like that.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: It's not really the full all-inclusive.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: But it's nice to get to wake up and know you're gonna go down to Bobby Flay's restaurant and have free breakfast.
- 3:18Sean McAllister: Well, and to know that you're not gonna have to spend uh 50 bucks for a breakfast for two.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:23Sean McAllister: Eggs and bacon.
- 3:24Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: But you're still sitting in a nice place and having an experience.
- 3:28Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 3:28Sean McAllister: And a reminder if you do go to visit losvegas.com slash deals, they keep that page updated with uh all of the offers that are constantly coming in from various properties.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: So as you're planning your Vegas trip or if you live in Vegas and you have family members coming in, it's always a good idea to check out that page, visit losvegas.com slash deals, um, to see uh what's being offered at any given point in time.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: Because there are things on there every single time you look.
- 3:58Dayna Roselli: I don't you like we remind people all the time about it, but definitely like you're saying, go there because sometimes I'm like, oh wow, that's a good deal.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: And especially for like attractions and stuff, you know, if you're gonna go somewhere, check and see if they have, you know, something going on.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: So um, yeah, it's great.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: So we went over and we we chatted with Donny um at Harrah's.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: We noticed it was busy.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: We had to go all the way to the top of the parking garage to park.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: Um, but I also quickly, you know, was thinking about the uh broadcast media tour we did.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: I also wanted to mention we did that at the Boulevard pool deck at the Cosmopolitan.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: And we were just chatting, we were there, like, you know, Cosmopolitan is such a nice hotel.
- 4:34Speaker 4: It is.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: And just to kind of talk about it for a minute, I mean, it was fun to be on the pool deck with looking up and seeing, you know, all these rooms have balconies.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: I don't think every single room does, but if obviously if you're on the outside, but I mean, it was fun to smell the breakfast cooking and people you could see standing on their balcony as the morning, you know, as the sun came up, getting ready for their day.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: And um, balconies are rare in Las Vegas.
- 4:55Sean McAllister: They are, yeah.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: Well, and we were wondering too, like, as people were waking up and looking out their window that overlooked the pool deck, and they saw us down there with the the lights and the cameras and the whole setup.
- 5:09Sean McAllister: They had to be thinking, what the heck is going on down there?
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: I know, Viva Las Vegas.
- 5:13Dayna Roselli: We're like, there's probably these random social media videos of us, like out there, people up from their balcony.
- 5:18Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, but even going up, I was like, you know, the parking's pretty smooth.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: It's it's you know, you gotta go down and all that.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: But you know, when we went, it was early in the morning, so it was pretty easy to find parking, but um easy to navigate.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: And then, you know, I love that they have kind of like, I don't want to say food court, um, but they have choices.
- 5:37Dayna Roselli: You know, you can go up and get some food, then they have the high-end restaurants, then they kind of have some really fun restaurants.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: It's just a really good mix in there.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: There is, it's a good selection, a good vibe.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: It always has been.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: It's been a fun property, always.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: And I don't know if people realize this, but they, you know, when they had opened the Cosmopolitan way back in the day, it wasn't run by MGM, but they always said we're gonna do the casino floor, and then the levels above are gonna be where our restaurants are, where most hotel casinos have a casino floor and you're walking by like different restaurants all the time.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: So they kind of stack it up.
- 6:11Sean McAllister: Well, and even with the uh chandelier bar that's right in the center of the entire property, that's a multi-level bar inside of a massive multi-level chandelier.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: And so, I mean, that kind of is the fun of going over to uh Cosmopolitan too, is going and exploring each of the different levels.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: It's so true.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: Because there's shops up there that that you wouldn't know if you didn't go up there.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and you can get to a bridge that kind of crosses over to Crystals to Aria.
- 6:41Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of connections.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: It's an easy, it's an easy good spot.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: One of the crew members that we did one of those uh tours with before for television, he said, Hey, I took uh advantage of that all-inclusive that you guys were um working on the last time we were together or the time before that.
- 7:05Dayna Roselli: We've done a lot of these and we're thankful that people hire us to do these as Vegas insiders.
- 7:10Dayna Roselli: Um, but um he said I took full advantage of that and it was awesome.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: He's like, I don't remember much, which made us laugh.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: But um he did love the the three meals a day.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: He went to see Carrot Top.
- 7:23Dayna Roselli: He said it was hilarious, like he had really good, memorable moments.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: And um, you know, we'll talk about what's going on with Carrot Top a little bit later, but um, but he had a blast.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: So I love that he took advantage of that.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: He said, You can't beat it.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: Like we logged on and we kept going, this is literally coming out to $329 for two nights, two people, three meals a day, show tickets.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: So And they drew drove in from Southern California, so easy trip in, yeah, easy trip back, and then to have a couple days where you can leave the kids with the babysitter and have come out, have some adult time, unwind, relax, have fun.
- 8:01Sean McAllister: Yeah, and then go back home at a really at a really great price.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: So again, just keep on top of the deals that are always happening.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: Um, and I have a feeling we're going to see even more deals coming in the uh near future.
- 8:16Sean McAllister: I don't think we've seen the end of the deals.
- 8:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's good.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: That's great.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Um, we did a a talk back with um a crew in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it made me think we got some fan mail this week from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 8:30Dayna Roselli: We did.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: So we must be big there.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, we got a really nice note from one of our listeners here on the audio podcast.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Um, and he said, you know, you tell us to write you an ask question, so I I am, and I love that.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: And he said, My question to ask you is how about the people who don't drink booze?
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: What would be the best places to go and get a non-alcoholic drink or cocktail?
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: Do some places frown on you if you ask for a soda to drink?
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: If you go to one of the bars, uh, where are a couple he was saying that there are a couple of diabetics and they don't really drink booze?
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: So he just was curious if it's frowned upon.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: And we thought, you know what, let's talk about this because immediately I thought, absolutely not, it's not frowned upon at all.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: People don't drink like no and yeah, all the time.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: More and more for various reasons, people, uh Vegas visitors are drinking less.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: And so there have been a lot more non-alcoholic uh options added to uh the menus at restaurants, at lounges, at bars.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: And all you have to do is ask.
- 9:40Sean McAllister: And they'll if you have a great bartender, they will be more than happy to make you a non-alcoholic cocktail.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:49Sean McAllister: You know, if you want a pina colada, but you don't want the rum in it, just let them know.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's easy enough.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: We drank a Gatorade the other day that was coconut, and I was like, this tastes like a pina colada.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: That did taste good, that tasted really good.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: And I was like, you know what?
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: This would be good with a drink, a little hydration.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: Um, but you know, you could just do uh, you know, uh maybe like a rum, non-alcoholic rum with it.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: And they have all that stuff.
- 10:11Dayna Roselli: Like we did a whole segment at Fountain Blue once in one of the lounges, and there are a lot of spirits out there now that are non-alcoholic, and they made us one of the cocktails, and you can't tell the difference.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: You couldn't tell at all.
- 10:22Sean McAllister: It was so good, yeah, and that is being adopted widely across Las Vegas, um, and I feel like even beyond.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: So, absolutely not.
- 10:33Sean McAllister: If you are not a drinker, do not feel like um uh there's any reason not to ask for a non-alcoholic drink, even if you do just want a soda from the bar, they're happy to pour one for you.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, we go out a lot for stuff.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: I get sodas all the time, diet coke or whatever.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: No one even flinches, you know?
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: Like, I mean, so totally normal.
- 10:54Sean McAllister: There's a lot of times I'll even just get a soda water with lime.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: They'll do anything.
- 10:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: And if you want a water, they'll give you a bottle.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: If you want ice water, usually they'll just, you know, pour you in ice water.
- 11:04Sean McAllister: So I mean it's not free, but they'll give it to you.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: No, the ice waters are usually free, but not the bottles.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: But if you're gambling, it is free.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:13Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Um, so yeah, not frowned upon at all.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: Enjoy your trip.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: You don't have to drink alcohol.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: And the trend is for younger people, they're not drinking.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: So um this could be even more of a thing as the years go on.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 11:26Sean McAllister: And P and the bartenders are going to keep being more creative with the things that they offer, too.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: We did get a nice email too from Pete.
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, I don't know.
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: He included his phone number and I looked up it's like Chicago area, but it can't be guaranteeing that he lives there now.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: But um, he said, listen in a long time, love the podcast.
- 11:44Dayna Roselli: Thanks for everything you do.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: So we appreciate it.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Even just a simple note from Pete.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: We appreciate you letting us know that you listen and that you appreciate what we do because we do put in a lot of time and you know, recapping our lives here and trying to give you as many insider tips as we can.
- 11:59Sean McAllister: And a reminder there is a link down in our show notes where all you have to do is click it and you can send us a text message.
- 12:06Sean McAllister: And now we are able to answer you back on text as well.
- 12:09Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: We don't get any of your uh information, only what you provide.
- 12:13Sean McAllister: Um, but it's a great way to connect and we appreciate it.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: A lot of people have been reaching out asking about the trips that they have coming up for special occasions.
- 12:23Sean McAllister: Is this I'm coming in for a work event?
- 12:26Sean McAllister: I have a group of people who I'm trying to coordinate dinners for.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: Do these places work?
- 12:31Sean McAllister: We're happy to give advice and um share what we know.
- 12:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because we're in our seventh season.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: We've talked about a lot of things, and sometimes it may seem repetitive to us, but there are new people, new listeners on board, people curious about things.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: Like I think, you know, last week we talked about someone asked about the rooftop bars.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: Happy to rehash and things are opening all the time that are brand new and closing, then no longer there.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: So um, in fact, the the question about the alcohol came from text, and we have actually already answered that person because we're we can respond now um uh you know our our take on that, but wanted to do it on the audio podcast here so you could all hear it as well.
- 13:08Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: And uh as you mentioned, Dana, we did go over to Fountain Blue and look at their uh collection of non-alcoholic spirits, but Fountain Blue is getting uh some really big recognition.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: They just received a Michelin key for 2026 in the Michelin guide.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's great.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: They got it again.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: Um, I think they got it last year, too.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: So Fountain Blue Las Vegas is the only resort and casino in the country to hold the honor, a title the property has now carried, yeah, for a second exec consecutive year.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: I knew they got it one year.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: So two years in a row.
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: Um it says the repeat honor reflects the resort's striking architecture and interiors paired with a consistently elevated guest experience across its amenities and accommodation.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: So you need like a good combination of everything.
- 13:54Dayna Roselli: And I think that's great.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: I think Fountain Blue does have it.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: They do.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, they do, it's a great property.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: So what an honor.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: Um, excited to hear about that for sure.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: Congratulations to everyone over at the Fountain Blue that works hard to keep it new, fresh, pristine.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: You know, I know they're trying to build up their gaming roster, and they've they've they've been doing a good job, I think.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: I I've walked in there recently and it was it was busy when I was there.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: There's gonna be slow and busy days all the time.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: Everyone says different things, but depends on the time of the day.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: A lot of people come in, stay there for conventions.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: Has a Vegas loop stop now, can take you right to the convention halls.
- 14:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, super convenient for anyone staying there uh for a convention, but also um follow the Fountain Blue on uh Instagram also.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: They've been putting out a series of videos on their account that uh really go into the different angles of hospitality that they offer and the level of hospitality that they offer um across the property.
- 14:52Sean McAllister: And it's it's worth it.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: They do a good job with those.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, really good.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: And I did see um, which I don't have the specifics in front of me, I saw Mark Anthony extended into 2027.
- 15:00Dayna Roselli: Excited to hear about that.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: Yes, yeah.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: So he's got a couple, I think it was like two more, like two runs he put on the books there.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: Um, we did go see the Wizard of Oz and the new 4D effects.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: We're gonna talk about that uh next week.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: We'll let you know more about that because um there are a lot of changes, and I know people have seen the Wizard of Oz at Sphere and loved it.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna let you know, is it worth it to come back and see it again?
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: You might want to, you know, because people like a little change and then they wanna they love something.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: So I love that they change things up over there all the time.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: But you went to Jason Al Dean's brunch, football brunch, and this is a new thing on the weekends, right?
- 15:36Sean McAllister: Yeah, they're doing this on Saturdays and Sundays.
- 15:38Sean McAllister: They have a specific menu of brunch items that they uh are offering.
- 15:44Sean McAllister: There's shrimp and grits, there's uh tacos, there's uh flatbread that's delicious.
- 15:50Sean McAllister: Um, they have a waffle sundae, uh, which is uh an extravagant brunch offering.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: JJ did an insider dish there, which you'll be able to see on our YouTube soon, but it did look good.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: I was like, wow, I love a good waffle cone.
- 16:06Sean McAllister: And it's the kind of thing that you don't even need to put anything on because there's berries, there's cream, there's ice cream, there's a waffle cone.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: So yeah, it's a great vibe.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: Uh the venue is great.
- 16:17Sean McAllister: They have TVs, a big screen, live music.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Um, so if you're looking for a place to watch the game and get some breakfast and brunch along the way, um keep Jason Aldeans in mind.
- 16:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because uh the only time I've been there was the opening, and um, you know, all the screens and stuff weren't on, you know, like it wasn't sports season and all that, but when you showed the video, um, you we we were looking at the the edited version of JJ's segment and you were showing some video of the inside.
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: I was like, wow, that is definitely a good spot for football.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 16:50Sean McAllister: The couch areas, the screens, the bar, and the stage and the the second level of the um venue.
- 16:58Sean McAllister: It's a two-level venue.
- 17:00Sean McAllister: The second floor has a patio that overlooks the strip over there at 63 City Center.
- 17:05Sean McAllister: Um, but the the they have these uh kind of LED panels built into the performance stage, and they had that uh looking like a football field.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: So it got you in the vibe.
- 17:17Sean McAllister: You know, the game day, the game day spirit was alive and well in there.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: Well, and I um when they when they announced it, I was looking at the specials.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: They definitely have some college and professional football specials that are really, really good for an on-strip location.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: So you can go to Jason Aldean's BarLV.com to get more information if you're interested in you know doing an outing and going to watch some of the games there at Jason's.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: And then um Category 10 is still uh under construction but opening soon.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: We're excited about that.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: Um, and that's across the street and up a little in the old Margaritaville.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: Uh right across the street from Caesars Palace, actually, attached to Flamingo.
- 17:59Sean McAllister: Um, I know that they're going to be doing some uh friends and family uh previews uh starting up here really soon.
- 18:07Sean McAllister: And then I think early October is when they're planning to uh open to the public.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: Gosh, so it's coming out.
- 18:14Sean McAllister: And that's gonna be a massive venue.
- 18:16Sean McAllister: It's right now we're here, yeah.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: It's happening.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: It's happening.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: Luke Combs is so popular.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: He he had the largest crowd at Allegiant Stadium for a concert when he was here about four months ago, six months, six months ago, maybe probably.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, so he brings he drew it draws a crowd, and I think people will enjoy going there.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: So, you know, we're getting more and more of those honky tonk style venues here on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: There must be demand.
- 18:43Sean McAllister: Well, and one cool thing, I know that we're gonna learn more about it as you know we get inside and start exploring the the venue, but um, they have a hat wall inside where you can donate a hat to the hat wall and leave the story uh that you want to be attached to your hat.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: And so then you can kind of forever be a part of they were taking hat donations and accepting stories to go along with it.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: So that like it gives people some buy-in, a reason to go back and be like, hey, there's my hat on the wall.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: No, that's cool.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it makes it unique, right?
- 19:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:17Dayna Roselli: Um great.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, uh, let's talk off the strip now.
- 19:21Dayna Roselli: Um, I know a lot of people do like their non-smoking areas, non-smoking hotels.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: Um, so uh Palms debuted a new option recently.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: They opened a fully enclosed non-smoking gaming space, has more than 200 slot games, its own bar, and a permanent uh street taco food truck there.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: So FYI, if you are looking for a place that you want to play slots and game, you don't want to be in a smoky filled casino, um, you could head over to the Palms and then, you know, I'm assuming most people know Park MGM on the strip is a fully non-smoking hotel.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, I appreciate that.
- 20:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:01Sean McAllister: Because when I sit down to play slots, usually the first thing I do is like pick up the dirty ashtray and move it somewhere.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: Um, but it is so it's nice.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: It's different, you know, it depends depends on your preference.
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: So um it's good to have options.
- 20:17Sean McAllister: It's very good to have options, indeed.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: Well, we were driving down the strip the other day and we were looking at the new Hard Rock Hotel guitar tower, and we thought we gotta do more on this.
- 20:26Dayna Roselli: But um, you know, it's they're not really releasing tons of of detail.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: We got the basics, but but we thought, you know, uh when it was first announced, people were like, I don't like it.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be too big and it's gonna be an eyesore.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: And like we wanted to see if people's opinions changed.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: So we actually went out on the strip and interviewed some people, which we're gonna share in a minute.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: But just to catch you up to date, the guitar hotel tower is rising right from the ground there in front of the Mirage, the old Mirage.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: It's all going to be the hard rock now.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: And the old Mirage Hotel Towers being refurbished.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: And this is an addition to that.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be, you know, guitar-shaped pool, uh, entertainment, all sorts of stuff coming in there.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: Um, but it's really going up quick.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: And so when we were driving down um Las Vegas Boulevard, I said, let's get some video and then let's let's get out and get some shots for everyone.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: You can see that on our YouTube.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: But we talked to folks, and I mean, people weren't hating on it as much as they did.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: No, and I think once now that we are seeing the actual uh real building and how it's impacting the skyline, I think people are uh warming up to it a bit.
- 21:38Sean McAllister: I know I am, yeah, because I was one of the skeptics early on.
- 21:41Sean McAllister: I was like, oh, is this guitar really gonna really gonna be the thing that we want right there?
- 21:48Speaker 4: I know.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: And now that I see it, I say, yeah.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, because I can't and let me tell you this guitar tower dwarfs the hotel tower that.
- 21:59Sean McAllister: Originally was there for the Mirage.
- 22:01Sean McAllister: And that's not a small building.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: Well, and someone wrote on our um, I don't know if it was YouTube or where it was, but maybe Instagram saying, you know, it dwarfs my treasure island.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: I love Treasure Island and they aren't happy about it.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: It's true.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: It dwarfs everything.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, it is huge.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: Oh, it's cool looking.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: I really, really love it.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: But first, let's just uh replay this interview.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: We you may have heard before, but if you haven't been listening to us for a long time, um, we did have a chance when the Mirage closed.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: We were there for the closing of Mirage.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: Um, Jim Allen was there from the Hard Rock, and uh, we asked him about the large guitar and if he thought it was a, you know, why he thought it was a great fit for Vegas.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: And Jim is the chairman of Hard Rock International and CEO of Seminole Gaming, because they have one down in Florida too.
- 22:46Speaker 1: You know, people have said, Jim, we we don't think that's the right thing.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Um and and we frankly have always yielded towards the local population or the governing you know, country that we're in.
- 22:56Speaker 1: But in the case of Las Vegas, if there's ever a building or city, I should say, about WOWs, um, certainly Las Vegas would be that city.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So when you talk about a structure, if anyone has gone online or seen the guitar in South Florida that's about 450 some feet, you know, this building will be approaching 700 feet, you know, it will become a true icon, and that's something we think that creates international tourism, um, not just for hard rock, but frankly for Las Vegas.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: So I feel like he made a good point.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: He said, you know, if anywhere you could put a hard, you know, a guitar hotel tower, it's Las Vegas.
- 23:30Sean McAllister: And that is the truth.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: And that's why uh Jim is the guy in charge because he had the foresight to say, you know what, this is gonna work.
- 23:37Sean McAllister: And now I think people are, as we mentioned, warming up to the fact that this is a new addition to the Las Vegas strip.
- 23:45Sean McAllister: And while we were down there getting this video, we did uh talk to some visitors about their thoughts on this giant guitar tower.
- 23:54Speaker 6: The guitar is gonna be light up at nighttime, like I was the one in Florida.
- 23:58Speaker 6: Looks great.
- 23:59Speaker 6: So far, we got the what, Fountain Blue, we got a resort world, we got a new hotel coming up.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Looks good for Vegas.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I'm open to it.
- 24:09Speaker 5: I mean, I'm welcome, you know, I welcome it.
- 24:11Speaker 5: I don't see anything wrong with it.
- 24:12Speaker 5: I mean, you know, they're constantly building new things, they're constantly bringing in new uh hotels and stuff like that.
- 24:18Speaker 5: So I mean, I just I mean I I take it as the norm.
- 24:21Speaker: I think yeah, it fits the um how do you call the street again?
- 24:26Speaker 5: Uh uh the strip.
- 24:27Speaker: The strip, yeah.
- 24:28Speaker: It fits perfectly.
- 24:35Speaker 5: I think it looks uh fine.
- 24:37Speaker 4: I think it'll be better once it's done.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we were standing just down the road, so they could see it.
- 24:41Dayna Roselli: So we were pointing.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: Some were like, well, there's always stuff going up here, you know.
- 24:45Dayna Roselli: I didn't realize this was such a big deal.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: I'm like, no, people were it was a little controversial at first.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: So um, you know, they made some good points.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: Gonna be a great place for a picture with the hard rock hotel guitar tower behind you and stuff like that.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: It'll be good.
- 24:57Dayna Roselli: It's expected to open uh late 2027, by the way.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: I think it's on schedule.
- 25:02Sean McAllister: Yeah, it should be, because there are uh online some group bookings available for early 2028, so that kind of leads us to believe that the construction schedule is is on track.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: I know we were coming uh we were coming uh into the strip uh from the west the other day, and we could actually see because the the Mirage uh hotel tower they completely gutted that building.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: I mean, it was down to a skeleton frame.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: So they're completely redoing that, but the blue glass is going up uh pretty quickly on that hotel portion, as well as uh that guitar tower that's uh looks to be pretty near uh complete from the outside, at least.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: When we've talked about hotel openings in the past, I always just think it's amazing to think they have to lug all that furniture up every floor and load it into the rooms and decorate.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: What a massive, massive project.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: I listen, kudos to everyone.
- 26:04Sean McAllister: That's like a jigsaw puzzle.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: What they do is unbelievable.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: Well, we're gonna talk celebrity news with a Vegas twist, but I expect that hard rock hotel opening, hard rock hotel and casino opening in Las Vegas is gonna be full of celebrities.
- 26:19Sean McAllister: Oh, without a doubt.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: I hope they do it right, man.
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: They need to just make the opening a big old bash.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: It should be fun.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: Stay tuned for that.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: But now let's get to our celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 26:32Sean McAllister: Dana, I know this is something that uh you noticed on social media the other day.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: Flavor Flav, who lives here in Las Vegas, he's been a you know prominent local Las Vegan for years.
- 26:44Sean McAllister: And of course, he had his uh music career and has his music career uh going on well before that.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: Um but Flav just had an encounter with uh Bill Clinton.
- 26:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it was it was funny.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: It was funny.
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so like let's we're not getting into the political side of anything.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: This was just a funny encounter.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: Um and I thought it was hilarious because he called him Prez, you know, and just Flav is just funny.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: And so when he it's funny because he pairs himself or meets, he does so many, well, he does, you know, uh different, you know, he goes to concerts, he goes to events, he goes to charity things, and he comes across a lot of interesting people, and you wouldn't normally pair them with Flav.
- 27:27Sean McAllister: Well, it's just like the uh over the summer, he organized that entire Las Vegas party for uh the female Olympians.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know, and like brought them all in.
- 27:38Sean McAllister: I mean, he just you know He's a great supporter of uh a wide variety of people.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: He I saw him in the Vancouver airport on the final weekend of the Eras tour for Taylor Swift, and we yeah, he was taking selfies with everyone, he was on my flight.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's just he's a character.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: So anyway, seeing him with Bill Clinton was funny, and Bill Clinton gave him a new clock, and it was like this wooden clock, like like old school, you know, like it was so funny.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, um, that was a fun little moment to see.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: He just he spreads joy no matter who he meets, people, and everyone knows who he is, and he's just got that voice.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: Yes, you know, so that was uh funny.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: Saw that on Instagram and just thought we would share.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: If you want to see it, you can go to Flaves account.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: A very funny moment there.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: Um, we wanted to touch on uh a little bit about what's going on with Carrot Top.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: Um, his name is Scott Thompson, and a lot of people don't know that or do know that, depending, but um Caratop, we're not gonna get into the the the all the details of what's going on.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: I personally feel that it's still a bit of a private moment.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: I know you're a celebrity and people want to know what's going on, but Caratop is recovering from what has reportedly been a possible suicide attempt.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: We don't know the details.
- 28:53Dayna Roselli: That aside, we wanted to send our love to Caratop because we have worked uh with him through the years, our 20 plus years here in Las Vegas.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: Uh, I've seen his show like eight times.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: I bring everyone to his show, and I just am really cheering him on that he gets better.
- 29:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, and we've each uh interviewed him uh countless times uh throughout our time here in Las Vegas.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: He's always been uh uh just a good person.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: I've always found him to be a great person and really uh wishing him well and and uh hoping that things get get back on track.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: He is one of the funniest people I've ever met.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: I have enjoyed his show, I have enjoyed brunches with him, I have enjoyed interviews with him, I have enjoyed him allowing me to bring some friends backstage to take pictures.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: He's kind to everyone.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: Um, I've brought a lot of friends to his show, said, Really?
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: You want to go see Keratop?
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: I'm like, trust me.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: And then they walk out.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: And it's funny, those friends are now texting me, like, hey, what's going on with Keratop?
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: Is he okay?
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, because they're like, we just I know I'm like, you have a soft spot because he just brought you so much joy.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: He's one of the funniest people I know.
- 30:04Dayna Roselli: He's all around Las Vegas, embraces and supports all the restaurants and sports teams, sports teams.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he goes to Target often.
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: He always used to joke around about people stopping him in Target saying, You look like Carrot Top.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: And he would always say, Um, in the interviews and stuff, when I've talked to him in the past, he'd say, like, uh, yeah, it's me.
- 30:23Dayna Roselli: Like, why would anyone want to look like me?
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: It's definitely me.
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: Um, and he loves people and he spreads joy on his Instagram.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm wearing my carrot top t-shirt right now for the podcast.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: I've had it for a long time.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: It's a beautiful bejeweled carrot.
- 30:39Speaker 4: It is.
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: Um, we are wishing the best for Carrot Top.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: We first just want him to get better, and if that's all that happens, um, great.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: But someday I hope that he can get out there on stage because you can see the support for him.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's huge.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: People are just saying, you know, fellow comedians and saying Carat Top, you know, when he was a prop comedian, like people gave him a hard time.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Like, what's this guy doing?
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: What's he doing to the comedy world?
- 31:03Dayna Roselli: And then and then look at him now, you know, 25 plus years in Las Vegas, 20 of them he just celebrated over at the Luxor.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, and he's living the life.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: He's got, you know, he had a house in in Florida, and here he could go back and forth and he had the residency, and then he could do tours if he wanted.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: He did late night shows, he did afternoon talk shows, and he proved to everyone that, you know, prop comedians are funny too.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Yes.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: And I find his show just uh wonderful.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: So we wish him the best.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people are um seeing a lot of stuff all over the place.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: We'll let you know uh any major updates that we get.
- 31:39Dayna Roselli: Um, but wishing the best for Scott Thompson.
