97: Violent Vickie and Jamie Gendron
Singer/Songwriter Violent Vickie and Comedian/Actor Jamie Gendron joined Mark for quite a spirited and dance-able show.
Vickie talked about growing up as a nice church going girl who even studied opera until she found the riotgrrrl movement when she went to college in Santa Cruz. She started with an 80s drum machine she got from ebay for $40 and has since flourished with a sound which combines punk, goth, Industrial, EDM, shoegaze, trip hop and dream pop and a career that has led her to open for Hanin of Atari Teenage Riot (leading Mark to unwittingly and hilariously misidentify her gender)…
