- 0:08Speaker 1: So my worst fears came to life. Hi, I'm James
- 0:14Speaker 1: add Junius is jail j this morning. I've been I've
- 0:17Speaker 1: been filming them vertically, just for something different. You guys
- 0:20Speaker 1: watch on your phones, your tablets. It looks different right. Plus,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I'm sitting near my couch. I'm in pain right now
- 0:29Speaker 1: because of my knee. I can't really sit on it
- 0:31Speaker 1: right now. I just wanted to talk to you guys.
- 0:34Speaker 1: You guys have seen some stuff, heard a few things,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and I thought, let me share with you. And this
- 0:41Speaker 1: is just a good story to share with people that
- 0:44Speaker 1: maybe going through the same thing. So in my life
- 0:50Speaker 1: here in La, I'm a very small family and that
- 0:55Speaker 1: I that I we will work with my younger brother
- 0:58Speaker 1: and I live together and uh and we take care
- 1:03Speaker 1: of our mother. Maybe you guys know that already. Miss
- 1:05Speaker 1: Benita Jr. You know him. And one of my worst
- 1:10Speaker 1: fears came to light last week last Wednesday, when I
- 1:16Speaker 1: woke up to my brother or why is my phone? Oh?
- 1:23Speaker 1: My phone was going off when my brother Jr. I walked.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I just woke up, get ready to do my morning routine.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Apparent he was going to go to dentist that day.
- 1:37Speaker 1: He does no job right now. So he's going to
- 1:38Speaker 1: a dentist and I'm getting out. I haven't made my
- 1:43Speaker 1: coffee yet. I take my pills, my morning pills, and
- 1:46Speaker 1: I take a couple took those, about to go out,
- 1:49Speaker 1: make my coffee. Open open the house that was going on,
- 1:52Speaker 1: see if he was here, also just leave. He was
- 1:53Speaker 1: here in the front and the door front door is
- 1:56Speaker 1: wide open, and he's sitting in a chair, slumped over,
- 2:04Speaker 1: bleeding all from the side of his face looks horrible.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And my neighbor, who I didn't recognize at first, is
- 2:11Speaker 1: standing right there, like who the fuck is you? Cause
- 2:13Speaker 1: I didn't have my glasses on anything, Like what the fuck?
- 2:16Speaker 1: And it was my neighbor, and he had helped bring
- 2:22Speaker 1: him in the house and they were looking for me.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Now my house was ready. I was one of those
- 2:25Speaker 1: shot and this was a long house and I'm wait
- 2:28Speaker 1: in the back. So I didn't hear anything that was
- 2:30Speaker 1: going up front. I didn't hear anything, and so I'm
- 2:33Speaker 1: like what And so I had to kind of wake up.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I was like, just my hair crazy everything. I'm just
- 2:38Speaker 1: like I'm like I'm just having like to like, yo,
- 2:40Speaker 1: it's my words. Fear that one day I'll go to
- 2:42Speaker 1: the front and find him heard or dead or something.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Because we live by ourselves. We live by ourselves, and
- 2:47Speaker 1: we have like our own parts of the house. So
- 2:51Speaker 1: I did. I had to go into action. I had
- 2:53Speaker 1: to go right into action, and and I was trying
- 2:59Speaker 1: to wake up up at the same time, communicates. My
- 3:02Speaker 1: neighborhood speaks al mostly only Spanish. I speaks to Spanish
- 3:05Speaker 1: that I will handle this, and like she call paramedics.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on, Like I don't even
- 3:09Speaker 1: know what's going on. I'm like, I look because he's
- 3:13Speaker 1: kind of talking, and which is a good science. He's talking,
- 3:18Speaker 1: that's a good sign. But I'm like, I'm trying to
- 3:20Speaker 1: figure out what's what and let me look at his face,
- 3:23Speaker 1: and you have a former nurse. I'm trying to figure
- 3:25Speaker 1: all this stuff out. And this is a nine to
- 3:26Speaker 1: one one situation because you know, paramas costs a lot money.
- 3:30Speaker 1: And I'm like, I don't even know where to take him,
- 3:31Speaker 1: like I have no I don't know anything about his
- 3:33Speaker 1: medical history whatever. So I make the decision we gotta
- 3:38Speaker 1: take him to the er or urgent care or something.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I come my Cynthia and I was like, girl, can
- 3:43Speaker 1: you get with my sister? And weren't homes I say,
- 3:45Speaker 1: can you come? G r I hurt himself. We gotta
- 3:47Speaker 1: take them whatever, And she said, I guess if we
- 3:50Speaker 1: said in our hospital, she's nearby, and I brother, we've
- 3:55Speaker 1: never done it. I've never done that. We don't have
- 3:57Speaker 1: this kind of stuff. So like it's so weird for me,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and so I take them. We take them over there,
- 4:02Speaker 1: go to the er. I have to say, Santela Hospitals,
- 4:07Speaker 1: the great pervitation isn't the greatest. Let's just say that,
- 4:10Speaker 1: but I will say the times I took my mother
- 4:12Speaker 1: to the er for the du Kaiser and this experience
- 4:14Speaker 1: with him was much better. This was I have to
- 4:19Speaker 1: say that morning staff were amazing. They got us in
- 4:23Speaker 1: right away. They had to see us right away because
- 4:25Speaker 1: he could barely walk. They got us in, got us
- 4:28Speaker 1: in the it was like the room was crazy and
- 4:31Speaker 1: the person in that room was crazy. But before we
- 4:32Speaker 1: got there was a little nuts. We got him in there,
- 4:36Speaker 1: they got ivy going, started taking all these tests to
- 4:40Speaker 1: e KG everything. The nurses were great taking blood. Our
- 4:44Speaker 1: family has these hard retrains they got and they have
- 4:46Speaker 1: the blood so I was like, we're there. I was
- 4:48Speaker 1: there for hours with them. They say they're gonna admit them,
- 4:51Speaker 1: They're gonna get in bed. But it took a while.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So I had left to run a couple of errands
- 4:57Speaker 1: that I needed to run a couple of things, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: then I went back. My aunt Cynthia was the best.
- 5:02Speaker 1: She was wonderful, but he was nervous and scared and
- 5:05Speaker 1: just like, we know what's going on. So he told
- 5:07Speaker 1: us that day. The one thing that came back was
- 5:10Speaker 1: low potassium. And I know from my mother her emergency
- 5:14Speaker 1: thing last year she had had high calcium. So I
- 5:19Speaker 1: guess any any abnormality can make you lethargic. And that's
- 5:23Speaker 1: the thing, folks. So the day before it was really
- 5:27Speaker 1: hot and you guys just been hot everywhere, right, and
- 5:29Speaker 1: my house gets hot and in the front half there's
- 5:32Speaker 1: no condition up there, and so I thought I saw
- 5:36Speaker 1: him laying around all day. My gut was telling me
- 5:39Speaker 1: something was off. Was this is it's not even hindsight,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I'm going, No, I remember my gut going, he's just
- 5:47Speaker 1: kind of laying around. But he would say hi to me.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Okaj when I was walking through, I was I was
- 5:52Speaker 1: working out doing my thing and now and he's always
- 5:55Speaker 1: had a job, so it's not like I don't know
- 5:57Speaker 1: what his thing he does on his days off is
- 6:00Speaker 1: aroundy and it was like it was really hot. So
- 6:02Speaker 1: I didn't think much of the leagus drink. Idn't tell it.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But I really was like everybody like, but he's saything
- 6:15Speaker 1: to me. He said he thought he had food poisoning
- 6:18Speaker 1: and when he described me, that was not food poisoning.
- 6:21Speaker 1: So he has no idea. I was. So I was like, okay,
- 6:26Speaker 1: so then either way, you need to hear her there.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So now he's in there getting treated. Yeah, I was like, okay,
- 6:34Speaker 1: I think we're in good hands. I think we're in
- 6:36Speaker 1: good hands. And they get room eventually, and they gave
- 6:39Speaker 1: him his own room. It's on the top floor in
- 6:41Speaker 1: the corner stone the hospital. He had his own room.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It was a nice little room. The chairs were high
- 6:46Speaker 1: back chairs and a window outside, a TV to sink,
- 6:49Speaker 1: his own bathroom. Oh. I was like, you lucked out.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Maybe he has good insurance. I don't know, but it
- 6:54Speaker 1: was just like wow. It was like this was amazing.
- 7:00Speaker 1: So when people were visiting him over the next so
- 7:02Speaker 1: they came him for like two or three days they
- 7:03Speaker 1: kept him. They released him Saturday. His blood pressure was
- 7:08Speaker 1: super high. We're talking like to eighteen over. They couldn't
- 7:13Speaker 1: understand it for two days how to get it down,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and he was just laying there. Now. I don't know
- 7:17Speaker 1: if he was stressing out about stuff because he didn't
- 7:19Speaker 1: want to be there anymore or whatever, but he just
- 7:20Speaker 1: is blood pressure was not going down, and they were checking.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They did echo cardio grady, all kind of stuff, and
- 7:25Speaker 1: all that was kind of back fine, just a little
- 7:28Speaker 1: potassium and actually the potassium was going up and they
- 7:30Speaker 1: were irving it into him. So, I mean, everything else
- 7:34Speaker 1: was everything else checked out makes pretty decent. Just the
- 7:37Speaker 1: high blood pressure, and they were not going to release
- 7:39Speaker 1: him because of course that's almost like negligence on there
- 7:43Speaker 1: and somebody has high blood pressure. We don't want this
- 7:45Speaker 1: happened again. I didn't want to happen again either. He
- 7:48Speaker 1: had a nurse that was wonderful most of she was
- 7:51Speaker 1: there most of the time. One doctor hated him, but
- 7:54Speaker 1: he placed with doctor liked him. So now he's been
- 8:00Speaker 1: home a couple of days, and the thing about it
- 8:04Speaker 1: is is he has no appetite. He's eating a little fruits,
- 8:08Speaker 1: these fruit balls. You can get rouse and stuff, and
- 8:11Speaker 1: that's fine. It's something, but it's mostly water. Right, He's
- 8:15Speaker 1: drinking water, which is good. So he's peeing and stuff,
- 8:17Speaker 1: but he hasn't pooped, you know. I'm like, you have
- 8:19Speaker 1: to create food poop. He wanted pizza one day, I
- 8:22Speaker 1: got a pizza. He's barely eating the pizza. He's barely
- 8:27Speaker 1: eating the pizza. And he's drinking the boots drinks. Those
- 8:30Speaker 1: boots drinks and have protein, as I say, drink one
- 8:32Speaker 1: of those in the morning and drinking one at night.
- 8:35Speaker 1: She minds me my mother when she was not eating
- 8:38Speaker 1: and just and the thing. People are like changes, I
- 8:40Speaker 1: gotta eat. I'm like, I know, but I can't shove
- 8:42Speaker 1: the ship down their throats. They're grown ups. I'm doing
- 8:45Speaker 1: the best I can, and I just keep checking on them.
- 8:49Speaker 1: And so like right now I'm perfs for this. At nighttime,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I think he's asleep or he's laid down on the TV,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and so I can't fully relax, just can't. I might
- 9:00Speaker 1: wake up the next morning and something happens, or make
- 9:02Speaker 1: the middle of the night, he may come in here
- 9:03Speaker 1: and say he needs help. I feel like I'm on call.
- 9:07Speaker 1: And that's how it was my mother when she first
- 9:08Speaker 1: came out of the hospital and was sick, like you're
- 9:11Speaker 1: you're on call, like you're just not you guys know that,
- 9:13Speaker 1: you guys, it's like having a baby like you just
- 9:15Speaker 1: you don't sleep, and I'm like, oh my god. So
- 9:22Speaker 1: that's kind of the what I've been going through for
- 9:27Speaker 1: last week or so. It's been tiring because I am
- 9:33Speaker 1: trying to handle him and watch him and all that
- 9:35Speaker 1: stuff is on there, all the back and forth to
- 9:38Speaker 1: the hospital, having do some research for them, trying to
- 9:41Speaker 1: figure outcause I don't know his not I noise medications.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Now I know all this stuff. I didn't know any stuff.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I wasn't he was his own man. I wasn't. I
- 9:48Speaker 1: was taking care of my mother. And that's been increasing.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I've been handling her stuff, not his, but hers. So
- 9:55Speaker 1: now I got both of them at the same time
- 9:59Speaker 1: with different there is things going on that I have
- 10:01Speaker 1: to be in charge of and have to handle, and
- 10:06Speaker 1: it's it's a it's a lot, and that's my you know,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and I'm I'm gonna do it. This is my my
- 10:18Speaker 1: this is what is my family members. So I'm gonna
- 10:19Speaker 1: domp take care of them. And you know, there's some
- 10:23Speaker 1: people who have been wonderful on my end help me
- 10:25Speaker 1: get around a little bit and stuff. I'm telling you
- 10:28Speaker 1: it is. It costs me out of a car. So
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm doing all this on my own. So doing you know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: getting ubers and lifts, money, situation for food here and there,
- 10:38Speaker 1: making sure that he's come to getting some supplies for him,
- 10:41Speaker 1: you know. Things For me, I had my own dostippointment
- 10:44Speaker 1: with my knee. I've a torn moniscus tear. So I'm
- 10:47Speaker 1: dealing with that right now. I'm funny with my drugs
- 10:50Speaker 1: because I have work is still continue. I mean, I
- 10:52Speaker 1: have people coming at me for work. It's like life
- 10:55Speaker 1: still goes on. You know, that doesn't stop. It's just
- 11:00Speaker 1: it's it's a lot. It's a lot. And I I
- 11:08Speaker 1: had a couple of moments where I broke down. I
- 11:10Speaker 1: will tell you guys, I broke down in tears. But
- 11:14Speaker 1: I mean, I'm at that point where I'm like, I'm
- 11:16Speaker 1: afraid to I'm afraid to cry and break down because
- 11:22Speaker 1: I feel like I won't stop because everything is so
- 11:24Speaker 1: heavy right now for me. I feel like my life,
- 11:31Speaker 1: I have my own health issues. I'm dealing with right now,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and I get my brother because my brother was my
- 11:38Speaker 1: co anchor in this at least he was okay relatively,
- 11:42Speaker 1: and we were both handling my mom. So now I
- 11:46Speaker 1: don't have I have sake care of him. And so
- 11:48Speaker 1: I got to my mom and you know, and still
- 11:51Speaker 1: learn at my work. And like tonight, I was like,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I have a script to write. I almost forgot. I
- 11:55Speaker 1: write that script, and I have interviews coming out, and
- 11:59Speaker 1: I have my appointments coming up, and I go manage
- 12:01Speaker 1: all that. But I have a list already a mile
- 12:03Speaker 1: long of things that we have to accomplish, for him,
- 12:08Speaker 1: for her, for me. Days ago by so fast. It's
- 12:13Speaker 1: like just not a time in the world. I closed
- 12:17Speaker 1: my eyes, but I don't sleep heavy. I just don't.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Right now. It's just not not happening. I did have
- 12:27Speaker 1: one night for about five hours, I had time with
- 12:34Speaker 1: a friend and it was really nice. It was really
- 12:38Speaker 1: I mean, it was just right. That friend was just
- 12:40Speaker 1: wonderful that I almost forgot about a situation for a
- 12:46Speaker 1: little bit and that was that was nice. That was
- 12:53Speaker 1: kind of that was kind of it was like I
- 12:54Speaker 1: needed that and a nice conversation, night out, dinner, friendship
- 13:04Speaker 1: and that came in handy. I will say that, but
- 13:06Speaker 1: then I feel like, oh no, back to my life again.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It's it's a lot and the weather being hot half
- 13:14Speaker 1: the time, say it rained a little bit today is
- 13:16Speaker 1: like kind of crazy. I'm trying. I'm trying to hang
- 13:19Speaker 1: in there. I'm trying to and this is just it's
- 13:24Speaker 1: funny how life you're just you're just be bopping along
- 13:28Speaker 1: and then something goes down out of nowhere, and sometimes
- 13:33Speaker 1: from somebody you just you did not expect. So folks
- 13:40Speaker 1: just you know, for those guys who have lives that
- 13:42Speaker 1: are somebody care free and you're able to do whatever
- 13:44Speaker 1: the fuck you want and do it. I have friends
- 13:49Speaker 1: who are traveling over the country, over the world they're
- 13:51Speaker 1: doing I'm like, do it. Do it while you have,
- 13:53Speaker 1: while you're unencumbered. I feel like that person like from
- 13:55Speaker 1: the future is like, please, I had no idea of
- 13:58Speaker 1: fifty seven in my life like this, Well, all I
- 14:01Speaker 1: do is caregive or run or I'm not scared to
- 14:04Speaker 1: or run something. That's all I do. Work or caregiving,
- 14:07Speaker 1: that's all I do. And I don't have I don't
- 14:11Speaker 1: have a relationship. I have nobody. My kids live somewhere else.
- 14:16Speaker 1: It's it's sometimes I feel very alone. They had nights
- 14:21Speaker 1: like this when it's nighttime and it's like there's nobody
- 14:23Speaker 1: here and for me, and I just have to deal
- 14:26Speaker 1: with it. I can't run away from it. I can't
- 14:28Speaker 1: walk through it. There are times I want to run
- 14:30Speaker 1: screaming and just say fuck everybody and leaves, like by
- 14:33Speaker 1: I don't care anymore. Leave. But I would never do that.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I would never do that obviously, but I do feel
- 14:38Speaker 1: that way sometimes, and it's just it's a lot. It's
- 14:45Speaker 1: a lot for one person to handle. I do have
- 14:51Speaker 1: God and he helps me get through stuff. To you
- 14:57Speaker 1: I couldn't do by myself. So just want to share
- 15:00Speaker 1: that with you. I wish I had great news and everything.
- 15:03Speaker 1: I don't, but I want to share that with you guys,
- 15:06Speaker 1: because I do share stuff with you my lotties out there.
- 15:09Speaker 1: If you want to help, I mean, I don't care
- 15:12Speaker 1: if it's five dollars, ten dollars whatever, Buy me a
- 15:15Speaker 1: coffee dot Com slash James a lot Junior. You can
- 15:20Speaker 1: get like five dollars at a time. They can help
- 15:22Speaker 1: me with things that I need and I'll put up
- 15:27Speaker 1: underneath the video. I do take your Venmo cash abs
- 15:31Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff. If you want to
- 15:32Speaker 1: send a few bucks over to help me. Just handle
- 15:35Speaker 1: all this stuff here and there. The big stuff we
- 15:37Speaker 1: got taken care of is just I mean, it's it's
- 15:38Speaker 1: all the different rides and this shares and ride shares
- 15:42Speaker 1: and that and last minute pills and things. It just
- 15:45Speaker 1: if you want to, you can. I'm not asking like outright,
- 15:48Speaker 1: just saying if you want so you can. For the
- 15:52Speaker 1: rest of you, guys, I know, I know I have
- 15:53Speaker 1: your online support. You guys show me all the time.
