Alonso Rested, Orioles Dominate | Baltimore Orioles News
Pete Alonso got pulled from Tuesday’s blowout win — not because he was hurt, but to keep him fresh. After a monster 4-for-4 night with a homer and 4 RBIs, the Orioles’ manager Craig Albernaz made the smart call to rest the star slugger, who’s been vital this season with 31 homers and 89 RBIs. With Baltimore cruising to a 13-1 victory, there was no need to risk Alonso further. It’s a savvy move that underscores the team’s focus on staying healthy as they chase a Wild Card spot.
