- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Well the plays get broken down and Science gets denied
- 0:10Speaker 1: to come off the bench. Hour two of Off the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Bench Live from the Mercedes Benz So Baton Rouge Studio starts. Now.
- 0:22Speaker 2: All right, welcome back. Yeah it is oh TV one
- 0:24Speaker 2: four five ESPN Baton Rouge.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Trying to get in with our boy, Bobby Carpenter, my
- 0:29Speaker 3: colleague over at Serious XM. We're gonna try to do
- 0:32Speaker 3: video there. Not quite in yet. Oh he is in.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Oh Bobby, see are we doing?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Coach E Taylor?
- 0:41Speaker 3: You were ye of Little Faith. Bobby c is ready
- 0:44Speaker 3: to go. You're not a professor of finance like Bobby
- 0:47Speaker 3: Carpenter at the Ohio State University and not be able
- 0:51Speaker 3: to figure out how to get on video and the
- 0:53Speaker 3: videos in the distance. I need to see this, Oh yeah, Bobby,
- 0:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah. In the weight room, let's go just like
- 1:00Speaker 3: we love our Bobby Carpenter.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:03Speaker 3: What's the workout? I mean you got the weighted vest on?
- 1:06Speaker 2: I love this?
- 1:08Speaker 4: Yeah, Coach, I mean it's Wednesday, that's my like d
- 1:10Speaker 4: load like lighter day. So do a little little elliptical,
- 1:14Speaker 4: little inclined walk, double up the vest, get about twenty
- 1:17Speaker 4: pounds on there, and get like a nice thirteen degree
- 1:20Speaker 4: incline hit down at about a level three and a
- 1:22Speaker 4: half for about twenty minutes.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You know, double up the vest. That's a strong move.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Well, it took them a weight weight out of them.
- 1:30Speaker 4: And so, like I was doing some stuff, they're doing,
- 1:33Speaker 4: pull up, send them. So say, I think you light
- 1:35Speaker 4: them up to about ten or twelve pounds. So you know,
- 1:37Speaker 4: I mean, listen, I'm getting older. Like you've got to
- 1:39Speaker 4: be rigid with your routine. There's no room for error
- 1:43Speaker 4: with that. And so you get it. Man, you're forty.
- 1:45Speaker 4: You're man, you're forty now, so it's time to go.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We are. Yeah, we're a whole bunch of forty year olds.
- 1:51Speaker 3: There. Are you gonna jump in today with the Buckeyes?
- 1:54Speaker 3: I mean, are they already done working out? Because I mean,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I know you can do whatever they're doing.
- 1:59Speaker 4: They got team meeting and so I that's why it's
- 2:01Speaker 4: started to a little quieter. And honestly, the best thing
- 2:03Speaker 4: I have to use these I got my counter stallions on.
- 2:06Speaker 4: These medaglasses are pretty elite and it's amazing. I can
- 2:09Speaker 4: hear you really clear, and you can probably hear me
- 2:11Speaker 4: without much ambient noise. They're playing music now. They're cleaning
- 2:14Speaker 4: things up with that. A team meeting at nine, so
- 2:16Speaker 4: they're they're making their way out of here. So I've
- 2:18Speaker 4: got this whole room to myself.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Ooh yeah, the meda glass.
- 2:22Speaker 5: Wait, is that where there? It's got the speaker and
- 2:24Speaker 5: the microphone. Is that where how you're communicating?
- 2:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, dude, it comes right through here. It's amazing.
- 2:29Speaker 4: I was driving in my jeep with them, like top off,
- 2:31Speaker 4: open air, fifty miles an hour. My brother goes, I
- 2:34Speaker 4: can hear you playing this day? I said, perfect? And
- 2:35Speaker 4: these are going to do my new go tos for
- 2:37Speaker 4: all my interviews, everything we got going on. And then
- 2:40Speaker 4: I mean, also you can hit the little camera over
- 2:41Speaker 4: here on the side if you want to film somebody's
- 2:44Speaker 4: place from the sideline.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Not only that, like you look really sweet with them too.
- 2:50Speaker 4: About that. I mean, I'm trying my best, like you
- 2:53Speaker 4: can what looks so sweet?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:54Speaker 3: I mean those must have been pretty expensive. I mean
- 2:56Speaker 3: you can't have money, must be slinging some hvags there
- 2:58Speaker 3: in Columbus.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Well, you know what the best type of best type
- 3:02Speaker 4: of gift, it's free ninety nine. Hester. So these were
- 3:05Speaker 4: a complements of Joe Burrow playing at his golf adding
- 3:08Speaker 4: down there in Cincinnati. So you're LSU boy taking care
- 3:11Speaker 4: of me.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Oh that's a pretty good golf gift there, gift pretty good.
- 3:15Speaker 4: It's elite. Man. I looked at us like you kidding me?
- 3:17Speaker 4: Like are we just trying these out? She's like, no,
- 3:18Speaker 4: pick what pair you want? I said, oh, hell yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 4: like like you could get normal ray bands or you
- 3:23Speaker 4: could get the metas. I'm like, dude, I'm taking the
- 3:24Speaker 4: met his hands down. I would never buy these for myself.
- 3:27Speaker 4: And then actually turned out to be pretty sweet.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Oh man, I love that, Bob.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I got to ask you because I know that, you know,
- 3:34Speaker 3: us doing shows together, you certainly started to dive into
- 3:37Speaker 3: some college baseball that you didn't really do before, Like
- 3:41Speaker 3: how did we take in the College World Series?
- 3:44Speaker 4: It was pretty good, man, Like, you know, you get
- 3:46Speaker 4: all the way down to the end and you've got
- 3:48Speaker 4: college you got Charleston there Toastal Carolina rolling against your Tigers,
- 3:54Speaker 4: and me, I know that you were kind of like
- 3:56Speaker 4: slow playing at all tournament. Hester thinking like I don't
- 3:59Speaker 4: want to go too big in on them, but end
- 4:01Speaker 4: up being the classic college baseball this year. And you
- 4:04Speaker 4: love the intensity, you love the games going back and forth,
- 4:06Speaker 4: you get coaches getting ejected. I mean, it's it was
- 4:10Speaker 4: a lot of fun due Bobby so uh.
- 4:13Speaker 5: If you were watching the National Championship Series with LSU
- 4:16Speaker 5: and Coastal, I have to think there's a part of you, like,
- 4:20Speaker 5: I know, you're your boys with Haster, you do the
- 4:22Speaker 5: show with them, LSU Gay, but there has to be
- 4:24Speaker 5: a part of you cheering for Coastal because of the
- 4:26Speaker 5: absolute units they're coaches and assistant coaches.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Where they were juiced. Man, they were jacked.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Oh absolutely. I mean you look at some of the
- 4:34Speaker 4: teams that get in, and I mean this year was
- 4:38Speaker 4: very diverse, like you had teams from all across the country.
- 4:40Speaker 4: I mean, poor PAC twelve. I mean you have three
- 4:42Speaker 4: teams from what the former practice PAC twelve was comprised
- 4:45Speaker 4: of now still Oregon State, but then you've got UCLA
- 4:48Speaker 4: in there in Arizona, and it's unfortunate, like you couldn't
- 4:51Speaker 4: make the conference last a little longer to be able
- 4:53Speaker 4: to see that success. But I mean, listen, man like LSU.
- 4:57Speaker 4: You guys cheerful, but it's like cheering for the Yankees
- 4:59Speaker 4: like you can unless you're a fan of them. You know,
- 5:02Speaker 4: I'm a tangential fan of Husser, so I'd like to
- 5:04Speaker 4: see him win. But cheering for the Chanta Clears. You know,
- 5:07Speaker 4: we're picking one of the teams that slides in there.
- 5:09Speaker 4: That's a little more under the radar.
- 5:11Speaker 3: All right, Bobby, we do have football season on the horizon,
- 5:15Speaker 3: not quite fully football season yet, although our all Meatthead
- 5:18Speaker 3: team in the field Still Magazine that is now out.
- 5:21Speaker 3: And so if you want to check out the All
- 5:23Speaker 3: Meathead Team, Bobby EJ and I put that together in
- 5:25Speaker 3: the field Still Magazine.
- 5:27Speaker 6: Uh.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Buck, guy's got a big one right off the top.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I mean, you got arch Manning, somebody you and I
- 5:33Speaker 3: have talked so much about in the past, right, and
- 5:36Speaker 3: so you've got him come into town. You've got this
- 5:38Speaker 3: Marquee matchup, a rematch of the Cotton Bowl.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Like how we feeling.
- 5:43Speaker 4: I'm feeling pretty good about it. You know, both teams
- 5:45Speaker 4: gonna be replacing quarterbacks. They both of them lost a lot.
- 5:48Speaker 4: I know you love those kicks and it's eleven am.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Nothing like a brunch marquee games.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Get a little eggs gone, and that'll be fun for everybody.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I'm excited about it. I think it's gonna
- 6:01Speaker 4: be a really good game and the best part like
- 6:03Speaker 4: this and this is the good and bad, you know,
- 6:05Speaker 4: college football, like that game. Now you can play it.
- 6:08Speaker 4: If you lose it, it doesn't eliminate you from the
- 6:10Speaker 4: college playoff. Yeah, but you can still sign up playing
- 6:14Speaker 4: and I can have great game. Hopefully, like I said,
- 6:16Speaker 4: hopefully Ohio State wins. You know, they're playing a lot
- 6:18Speaker 4: on defense, so is Texas, and so I think you'll
- 6:21Speaker 4: see a game. There'll probably be some offensive mistakes when
- 6:23Speaker 4: you're breaking in a new quarterback in a situation like
- 6:26Speaker 4: that where there's a lot of pressure. I think it'll
- 6:28Speaker 4: prive you the team like ultimately can come down like
- 6:30Speaker 4: who can turn the ball over less on offense because
- 6:32Speaker 4: both the defenses will be geared up and it's easy
- 6:34Speaker 4: to replace guys on that side of the ball. And
- 6:36Speaker 4: then obviously with Texas and Jeri Smith on the other side,
- 6:40Speaker 4: like how do you slow them down? And I saw
- 6:42Speaker 4: one of the ratings this year where they said Texas
- 6:44Speaker 4: has the best secondary returning Ohio State the best receivers,
- 6:47Speaker 4: so it'll be fun hopefully to get that matchup going
- 6:50Speaker 4: back and forth.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Would you prefer that to be a night game?
- 6:54Speaker 2: Sure?
- 6:54Speaker 3: I know you love I know you love the early risers.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Get out of here.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Man.
- 6:58Speaker 4: They fought for it, they did, and I get why
- 7:00Speaker 4: Texas didn't want to do it. I mean, but I
- 7:02Speaker 4: think that that's Sunday night and so you guys have
- 7:04Speaker 4: played there. I mean, that's Sunday night on the or
- 7:06Speaker 4: Labor Day weekend is a great, great time slot. Everybody's
- 7:10Speaker 4: off on Monday. You're staying alone. There's no NFL, and
- 7:13Speaker 4: I feel like that game should have been there. It
- 7:16Speaker 4: should have built some more flexibility into the schedule. That's
- 7:18Speaker 4: that's the reality. And you know, quote the Madmen, but
- 7:21Speaker 4: that's what the money scored. So that's what Fox wants
- 7:24Speaker 4: to do. I know, Ross Nork they've been working really
- 7:26Speaker 4: hard at trying to get some flexibility with this, and
- 7:29Speaker 4: the problem was I don't think when hier State was
- 7:33Speaker 4: as involved as they should have been early on because
- 7:35Speaker 4: they've been carrying the water at that big noon time slot,
- 7:37Speaker 4: which I know we joke about it has like I'm
- 7:40Speaker 4: good with like you know your non conference you know
- 7:43Speaker 4: mid major schools being in noon, but let's put the
- 7:46Speaker 4: big ones at three point thirty and a couple of
- 7:48Speaker 4: them at night.
- 7:49Speaker 5: All right, Boddy, off season has passed. Now we're in
- 7:52Speaker 5: the summer leading up to the season, like coming off
- 7:55Speaker 5: the national championship. How are the vibes there? How is
- 7:57Speaker 5: the expectations? You know, college there's always going to be
- 8:02Speaker 5: expectations when you and you're turning over so many spots
- 8:04Speaker 5: on the roster every year. So that's the nature of
- 8:06Speaker 5: the beast of college football. But how are those expectations
- 8:08Speaker 5: up there in Columbus and just kind of the vibes
- 8:11Speaker 5: going into the season.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they're high as always, like, and that's
- 8:15Speaker 4: the thing you win on. It's like, all right, you
- 8:16Speaker 4: take your deep breath and then if you get smoked
- 8:19Speaker 4: in recruiting or like the spring game looks bad, all
- 8:21Speaker 4: of a sudden, people are back on you again. And
- 8:23Speaker 4: that's that's the nature of the beast. And that's the
- 8:24Speaker 4: beauty of college football. That's what we love about it.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I Mean I think we were like, di'd be okay
- 8:28Speaker 4: if a higher state doesn't win a national championship in Columbus.
- 8:31Speaker 4: But I don't think they'd be okay if they missed
- 8:33Speaker 4: the playoff. I don't think they be okay if they
- 8:35Speaker 4: made the playoff and got blasted in the first round.
- 8:37Speaker 4: So I think there's a pretty solid expectation to say, hey,
- 8:40Speaker 4: you know, you're one of the big schools and the
- 8:43Speaker 4: big brands in the sport. But the way it's currently comprised,
- 8:46Speaker 4: like you should be playing that second weekend of college football.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Let's they get to the sixteen game. I think, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 4: a Lobos be a little bit different, but you should
- 8:53Speaker 4: be making that second weekend either by a bye or
- 8:56Speaker 4: having a home game and being able.
- 8:57Speaker 2: To win out all right.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So you know, I've talked so many times about Ryan
- 9:01Speaker 3: Day and the pressure that he had, and I was
- 9:03Speaker 3: always like, this guy just continues to win games, Like
- 9:06Speaker 3: be patient, he'll win one.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Well, he does win one.
- 9:08Speaker 3: So like, now to that conversation, it's not going to
- 9:11Speaker 3: be the Ryan Day conversation going into the season. Who
- 9:14Speaker 3: takes that over though, Who takes over that pressure of hey,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you've been good, you've been even great at times, but
- 9:20Speaker 3: we need you to be elite.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Well, I think James Franklin in the Big Ten. We
- 9:24Speaker 4: got a bunch of guys coming back, and they've got
- 9:27Speaker 4: a schedule that sets up nicely. So the last time
- 9:29Speaker 4: they got to play Ohio State on a yearly basis
- 9:31Speaker 4: here moving forward and it's in Columbus, So this will
- 9:34Speaker 4: be his final shot. I think he's won and nine
- 9:36Speaker 4: against the Buck guys. And I talked to our guy,
- 9:39Speaker 4: Bill Bender, and then we talked about various platforms. The
- 9:42Speaker 4: Bill was saying he has some unbelievable stat where James
- 9:44Speaker 4: Franklin has never lost to an unranked team. But he's
- 9:47Speaker 4: like I want to say, like nine and eighteen or
- 9:51Speaker 4: like five and five and seventeen against ranked opponents, and
- 9:55Speaker 4: so like that's the other side of it. Like one
- 9:57Speaker 4: thing to always win the games are supposed to win,
- 9:59Speaker 4: but people want to see you win some of those
- 10:00Speaker 4: big ones too. So I would say James Franklin and
- 10:03Speaker 4: even your guy bk a little bit. I mean, he
- 10:05Speaker 4: was really good at Notre Dame and he had you
- 10:07Speaker 4: and Iris who in the VCS Championship. They were always
- 10:10Speaker 4: really close. He's been an LSU and I told him,
- 10:12Speaker 4: like he's a heck of a football coach and he's
- 10:14Speaker 4: got a Heisman Trophy winner. And now let's say, all right,
- 10:16Speaker 4: you've got a lot coming back. He invested a lot
- 10:19Speaker 4: in this, You've got a returning quarterback, and people say
- 10:21Speaker 4: it's really good. Now it might be good timing. It
- 10:24Speaker 4: might be time to win a season opener Hester, I mean,
- 10:26Speaker 4: what we got. It's a tiger battle here, but we
- 10:28Speaker 4: got to find a way to get undone.
- 10:31Speaker 5: You just talked a little bit about like the preseason
- 10:33Speaker 5: expectations going into the season, and I would draw a
- 10:37Speaker 5: lot of comparisons program wise between the people down here
- 10:40Speaker 5: in LSU and Ohio State. There's always a lot of expectations.
- 10:43Speaker 5: The fan base expects you to do a lot of things.
- 10:46Speaker 5: It's almost like win a championship or bus kind of.
- 10:48Speaker 5: But after a national championship going into the season, what
- 10:52Speaker 5: would the fan base collectively say yes, that it was
- 10:56Speaker 5: a successful season.
- 10:59Speaker 4: I take a said, I think if you got to
- 11:01Speaker 4: get to the playoff, and my high State since two
- 11:05Speaker 4: thousand has only won less than ten games I believe
- 11:09Speaker 4: three times, and one of those years was the interview
- 11:11Speaker 4: with Luke Thickle, and so winning ten games is a prerequisite.
- 11:16Speaker 4: But you've got to get that done. Don't get embarrassed,
- 11:18Speaker 4: and you do win the Michigan game, and that's something
- 11:20Speaker 4: that they've talked about a lot around here. I know
- 11:22Speaker 4: Ryan is pressed in a lot as well, So they've
- 11:24Speaker 4: got to find a way to get that done for
- 11:26Speaker 4: you and that one that kind of alleviates some of
- 11:28Speaker 4: the issues maybe you haven't in that rivalry in that
- 11:30Speaker 4: series as well. But yeah, it's the same thing every year.
- 11:34Speaker 4: They don't care. Nobody cares how many guys you've lost.
- 11:37Speaker 4: No one cares about the injuries. No one cares like, yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 4: we won a national championship, that's great, but that's the expectation.
- 11:43Speaker 4: And so I mean, I mean, you guys are part
- 11:45Speaker 4: of a program that's similar to High State that's won
- 11:47Speaker 4: three over the last quarter century with three different coaches,
- 11:50Speaker 4: which is incredibly rare. So the next guy up, like,
- 11:53Speaker 4: you've got to win one to get that monkey off
- 11:55Speaker 4: your back. And Ryan was experiencing that and now you've
- 11:58Speaker 4: got VK's kind of feeling a little bit too. But
- 12:00Speaker 4: that's that's it. Like nobody cares that you owl in
- 12:03Speaker 4: last year. We'll give you maybe a year reprieve, but
- 12:05Speaker 4: then you better be back in the hunt that following season.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Uh, Bob, we got a lot of questions for you
- 12:10Speaker 3: coming inside of our chat there, and one is they
- 12:12Speaker 3: want to know what you had for breakfast today getting
- 12:14Speaker 3: ready for the workout.
- 12:16Speaker 4: So the thing is, I do morning radio like you guys.
- 12:19Speaker 4: We started six here Eastern, so I haven't eaten yet.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I usually I don't really eat breakfast much anymore on
- 12:25Speaker 4: smer vacation, but I love breakfast food. So what I
- 12:27Speaker 4: typically do is I have breakfast for lunch. So that's uh,
- 12:30Speaker 4: that's the solution right there, is to be able to
- 12:32Speaker 4: take the delicious eggs. I love a good egg scramble
- 12:35Speaker 4: whatever we have before. Here's some chicken, some sausage, some
- 12:39Speaker 4: hamburg whatever type of meat. Throw it in there, threw
- 12:41Speaker 4: some veggies in, get about five or six eggs, scramble
- 12:43Speaker 4: that bad boy up and then swallow that down. That's
- 12:46Speaker 4: usually what lunch is.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Asked, Bobby, should you have pulled your punches against Apollo.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Creed well, I mean Rocky Show thrown the cowl?
- 12:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I heard you were on this When Jake said
- 13:02Speaker 5: you're coming on today, obviously I pick up my phone
- 13:04Speaker 5: immediately text aj like, hey give me some give me
- 13:07Speaker 5: some scoop, give me something to ask, and of course
- 13:09Speaker 5: he was up. He was doing his elliptical and kettlebell swings.
- 13:13Speaker 5: He was like, he's like, all right, well let me
- 13:14Speaker 5: think here. Why don't you ask him to bring up
- 13:16Speaker 5: the time you put a cup of something in Schleg's
- 13:19Speaker 5: locker and oh, this is great.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fine, And this is what we do and
- 13:24Speaker 4: talk about this stuff all the time. It's uh, it's
- 13:28Speaker 4: always fun. And so I mean people look at us,
- 13:31Speaker 4: like where I start telling these stories, I'm like, you
- 13:32Speaker 4: know what twenty years is over? Statue limitations is up.
- 13:36Speaker 4: I mean, it's like full disclosure. Like it's when I
- 13:38Speaker 4: see this stuff happening across college football, Like I always
- 13:41Speaker 4: kind of just you gotta give me a little more
- 13:42Speaker 4: context because we used to we used to pee on
- 13:45Speaker 4: different dudes in the shower and everything, and so then
- 13:47Speaker 4: sometimes you would take that a little bit further. And
- 13:49Speaker 4: at one point, you know, like this little gatorade cup
- 13:51Speaker 4: that I had right here the cloud, you guys know
- 13:53Speaker 4: what they are, the classic gatorade cups on the sideline. Yeah,
- 13:57Speaker 4: and I forget what one of the guys did to me,
- 13:59Speaker 4: and I will be funny. And so we had lockers
- 14:01Speaker 4: that would kind of flip up, and they had locks
- 14:03Speaker 4: on them, but if you kind of hit underneath, you
- 14:05Speaker 4: could pop the lock and we'd open it. So no
- 14:07Speaker 4: one was really actually locking stuff. And I maybe may
- 14:10Speaker 4: or may not have slipped like a six maybe a
- 14:12Speaker 4: downs cagatory cup of urine and Schlags's locker, and when
- 14:16Speaker 4: he went to pop it open, kind of went on
- 14:18Speaker 4: his face and I thought I would just kind of
- 14:22Speaker 4: like fall into his chest, but he hit it so
- 14:24Speaker 4: hard and so maybe even got in his mouth, so
- 14:27Speaker 4: it was not good. But in all fairness, then the
- 14:30Speaker 4: next day he gets me back because you know, back
- 14:33Speaker 4: in the day, everyone's wearing cargo khakis. Yeah, and you
- 14:36Speaker 4: know I had him hanging to my locker. After the workout,
- 14:39Speaker 4: I go to put him on, so we've done the
- 14:41Speaker 4: It was in spring ball we practice lifted everything showered,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and I mean, I don't know about you guys. I
- 14:45Speaker 4: very rarely showered at my apartment in college because you
- 14:48Speaker 4: just always shower at the facility when you go before
- 14:49Speaker 4: you leave. And I remember I put my put my
- 14:53Speaker 4: pull my cargo shorts up. What the heck is in there?
- 14:56Speaker 4: Sometime I pie I reached down in the cargo pocket
- 14:58Speaker 4: and there's a cup and I had spilt it, and
- 15:01Speaker 4: then I could just see like my pants getting wet,
- 15:03Speaker 4: and he had put a cup of pee in the side.
- 15:05Speaker 4: So I had to drive home with those pea pants
- 15:07Speaker 4: on and then had to shower out the house again,
- 15:10Speaker 4: which was terrible.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Oh that's what makes you a beautiful meathead in our
- 15:15Speaker 3: favorite meat had Bob.
- 15:17Speaker 2: I appreciate the time, sir.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Thanks for stopping the workout to give us a few minutes,
- 15:21Speaker 3: and I'm sure we'll catch up again soon.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Brother. Hey, great to hear you. Listen, miss t Bob.
- 15:26Speaker 4: But Flinner is doing a great job. He's filling in
- 15:28Speaker 4: more than admirably. And I know, Flynn like it's gonna
- 15:31Speaker 4: take you some time. I'm gonna sit down with you.
- 15:33Speaker 4: We'll watch all the Lord of the Rings, read some
- 15:35Speaker 4: talking watch some Star Wars, and we'll get you on
- 15:38Speaker 4: T Bob's level before too long.
- 15:39Speaker 5: Well, you know, I'm asking the questions that people just
- 15:41Speaker 5: don't want to ask about cups of PEPs.
- 15:43Speaker 4: You're in well because you did the research. I give
- 15:46Speaker 4: you credit. AJ and I's relationship. By the way you
- 15:49Speaker 4: can tell your boy age. We were at a lacrosse
- 15:52Speaker 4: turn a couple of weeks ago, and our boys, our
- 15:54Speaker 4: kids are roughly the same age, so we see each
- 15:56Speaker 4: other a lot of this. And I'm watching him or
- 16:00Speaker 4: I didn't see Courtney was like, my wife's like, is
- 16:02Speaker 4: that agy walking over there? Like one hundred yards? Was like, man,
- 16:04Speaker 4: it kind of looks like him, but a dude's got
- 16:06Speaker 4: like a bad limp. It looks like he's walking like
- 16:08Speaker 4: with my dad crab fifty yards was like that is
- 16:11Speaker 4: age I walk over. I mean his back is hurting
- 16:14Speaker 4: so bad. He's one of them like deals were kind
- 16:16Speaker 4: of hunched. He's kind of like swinging that side leg,
- 16:19Speaker 4: you know, as he's walking through like carrying his chair.
- 16:22Speaker 4: And I was like, what is going on with you?
- 16:23Speaker 4: And he's like do my back's locked up and it's
- 16:25Speaker 4: never done this. He's like, the only good news is
- 16:27Speaker 4: he's like, my knee hurts less because I think all
- 16:29Speaker 4: the pain's just located in my back. So it was, Uh,
- 16:32Speaker 4: it was a sobering hot when you're forty forty two
- 16:35Speaker 4: years old watching your kids play that, you know, that's
- 16:38Speaker 4: what you gotta deal with.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh that's great, that's fantastic. Bob.
- 16:41Speaker 3: We love you brother. We appreciate hopping on with us again.
- 16:43Speaker 3: We'll catch up again with you soon, all right, Thanks guys,
- 16:46Speaker 3: one see you Bobby. See the best part about that
- 16:49Speaker 3: story about Aj is AJ told us the view from
- 16:52Speaker 3: the other side when he came on with us about
- 16:54Speaker 3: seeing Bobby with his chair and his cooler full of
- 16:56Speaker 3: a hell beverages walking across the lacrossefield.
- 17:00Speaker 2: So we got both views of each of them.
- 17:02Speaker 3: A J judging Bobby, Bobby judging Aj absolutely.
- 17:06Speaker 5: And that's that's how you tell you dream it up,
- 17:09Speaker 5: good friendships, old teammates, And yeah, I kind of wanted
- 17:14Speaker 5: to slip this story in there to make Bobby feel
- 17:15Speaker 5: a little bit better about his peepee story. We did
- 17:18Speaker 5: have a teammate names will go unnamed. We're talking l
- 17:22Speaker 5: shu lu that in the old locker room we have
- 17:25Speaker 5: we did most of our locker room in the stadium.
- 17:29Speaker 5: We had a teammate go into the sauna which was
- 17:32Speaker 5: connected to the locker room and peed on the coals.
- 17:36Speaker 2: And can I tell you that it was like a
- 17:39Speaker 2: imagine what burnt peacemells.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Like a urine cloud in the entire locker room. They
- 17:45Speaker 5: had to evacuate the locker room wash, everything basically fumigated.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So well, go just toys, peop boys.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I mean, I still to this day, like, what made
- 17:55Speaker 3: you think this was fun? This was a good idea
- 17:58Speaker 3: because you know, water the rocks heats it up more steam. No, no,
- 18:02Speaker 3: let's just go urin you look, we won't say names.
- 18:06Speaker 3: He did play offensive line just to make you you know, I.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Mean, that's probably not I mean it was either offensive
- 18:11Speaker 2: line or linebacker. Not a shock.
- 18:14Speaker 5: But you know, it's just one of those things where
- 18:16Speaker 5: at the time it seems like a good idea for
- 18:18Speaker 5: some reason.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Obviously it's a terrible idea, but you know, kids do
- 18:22Speaker 2: the darnedest things.
- 18:24Speaker 3: We appreciate Bob like he really was, Like that wasn't
- 18:26Speaker 3: a bit like He's like, hey, I'm working out, but
- 18:29Speaker 3: I'll stop and I'll I'll join you all from the weight.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Room, the medic the glasses.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Maybe Joe Burrow giving those in his golf tournament swag.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Did you that's pretty that's pretty clutch.
- 18:40Speaker 5: I must have I had to move like five years
- 18:42Speaker 5: ago I got the invitation, must have got just lost
- 18:45Speaker 5: in the mail.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't get on those. You're a big golfer
- 18:49Speaker 2: though known golfer.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I'm glad he said it was medaglasses because I was like, Bobby, what,
- 18:54Speaker 5: like what you got the glasses on?
- 18:55Speaker 4: For?
- 18:55Speaker 2: Oh?
- 18:55Speaker 3: I thought Bobby went on a bender? Well for sure, Yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 3: that's why I thought he had goss.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Can you imagine just seeing and forty year old Bobby
- 19:02Speaker 5: in the Ohio State weight room just on an elliptical
- 19:05Speaker 5: with dark glasses on?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:07Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I don't as a current player at Ohio State,
- 19:11Speaker 3: Like I don't know how I would feel about a
- 19:13Speaker 3: forty two year old doing the conditioning test with us
- 19:17Speaker 3: and passing it, like how I do feel about herself? Yeah,
- 19:21Speaker 3: I guess it's encouraging, like, Okay, well this this old
- 19:24Speaker 3: master can do it.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Surely we can too, all Right.
- 19:27Speaker 5: When I used to come back when I was playing
- 19:29Speaker 5: in the league, come back and work out with a team,
- 19:33Speaker 5: they probably felt real good about themselves.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Yes, I was awful at it.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Okay, do you remember and I know the clock whatever,
- 19:39Speaker 3: I don't care. Do you remember the first year that
- 19:44Speaker 3: Lron Landry, who's a freak, came back and he'd been
- 19:49Speaker 3: in the NFL. Tells you the difference in NFL training
- 19:51Speaker 3: and college training. He came back to run one tens
- 19:54Speaker 3: with us, and Laurron's a freak. Like probably still to
- 19:57Speaker 3: this day. I bet he looks the exact same. He
- 20:00Speaker 3: ran about four or five one tens and he's like, nah,
- 20:03Speaker 3: y'all got it.
- 20:04Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm it's strictly voluntary. Yeah, no, no more.
- 20:09Speaker 5: The same way it's if you spend one year in
- 20:12Speaker 5: a different climate, it's hard to come back.
- 20:15Speaker 3: It's like this was on the indoor. Okay, never mind,
- 20:19Speaker 3: you you should have been there. I mean we always
- 20:21Speaker 3: ran the one tens together.
- 20:24Speaker 2: For sure. I mean obviously, yeah, I don't ever remember.
- 20:26Speaker 3: The best part was he was like the indoor five
- 20:27Speaker 3: and he's just well, it was like the weather, like
- 20:29Speaker 3: we just couldn't go outside.
- 20:30Speaker 5: I just remember coming back after being in Green Bay
- 20:33Speaker 5: for a year and trying to run the one tens outside.
- 20:36Speaker 5: It's like, no, coach, sorry, Moffatt, I can't. I probably
- 20:41Speaker 5: I probably got like six or eight in, but then.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I realized in my head, oh yeah, I don't have
- 20:45Speaker 3: to do that.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Doing this myself, yeah, like I chose to do this.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah right.
- 20:48Speaker 3: It's like at the White House visit when we're like, oh,
- 20:51Speaker 3: we're not on this team anymore.
- 20:52Speaker 2: We don't have curfew, what do we I'm gonna go
- 20:54Speaker 2: work on my flexibility. Let go stretch. It's gonna break.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Then you can do it too.
- 21:08Speaker 7: That was just such a weird way to do it.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Break. I'll figure it out.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Guys, go to get Gordon dot com Gordon mccurnin Injury Attorneys,
- 21:17Speaker 3: where on the website you can see cases they handle

- 21:33Speaker 3: So on social media at get Gordon's always going to
- 21:35Speaker 3: be the handle and then you know it is your
- 21:37Speaker 3: area code in Louisiana, followed by eight eight eight eighty
- 21:40Speaker 3: eight eighty eight, Good Gordon and get it done.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Yeah, you saw the GTeam all over Omaha. You see
- 21:44Speaker 5: them all over Baton Rouge doing great things in the community,

- 22:00Speaker 5: If McAll anywhere in Louisiana, that's eight eight eight eight
- 22:02Speaker 5: eight eight eight.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football twenty four to seven. You're
- 22:18Speaker 1: listening to off the benches, you.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Him the baby, what I reckon Stangers all time?
- 22:29Speaker 5: Name throwback there for you at the bad we're just
- 22:32Speaker 5: discussing random centers.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Well, we played with we were talking about the center position.
- 22:39Speaker 3: You don't want a giant. Now, you got to be
- 22:42Speaker 3: able to you know, handle your own and have strong
- 22:45Speaker 3: hands like we talked about with Brett Halm's yesterday. But
- 22:48Speaker 3: you don't want somebody that's six four three twenty Like
- 22:52Speaker 3: Ethan Posik is a unicorn. The fact that he is
- 22:55Speaker 3: as big as he is, as tall as he is
- 22:57Speaker 3: now and I mean he's he's put together mm hmm.
- 23:00Speaker 3: But like he's so tall, like he typically wouldn't be
- 23:02Speaker 3: a center, but he does it because he's got great leverage.
- 23:05Speaker 3: That's the unicorn. That's the outlier. You want somebody like, yeah, six.
- 23:10Speaker 5: Two in the NFL and there's no one over Well,
- 23:16Speaker 5: I'm not gonna say no. You rarely find anyone over
- 23:19Speaker 5: six three sixty four at such six four. You got him,
- 23:23Speaker 5: but like as a quarterback, I always wanted you don't.
- 23:26Speaker 5: You didn't want like the bigger, heavier set guys at center,
- 23:29Speaker 5: even though you got them, especially at the college level NFL,
- 23:32Speaker 5: you don't really get that as much. But I I
- 23:34Speaker 5: was telling Tayo, like, the worst thing when I would
- 23:36Speaker 5: line up at in training camp, especially in like Louisiana
- 23:40Speaker 5: when it's really hot and sweaty as.
- 23:42Speaker 2: A center, walking up there with a wide but.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Yeah, because I mean, inevitably they're gonna have swamp ass.
- 23:50Speaker 5: You don't have swamp ass, and it stinks and it's
- 23:52Speaker 5: not great, and it's certainly sweaty. But what the wider
- 23:57Speaker 5: it is, like the harder it is to find the center,
- 24:00Speaker 5: Like hard to find where the Good Lord split you.
- 24:04Speaker 5: And so it's like that's where they're gonna snap the ball.
- 24:07Speaker 5: They're taught to snap it, you know, right in a
- 24:09Speaker 5: certain bull's eye.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Ye uh, and it's uh, it's hard to find it.
- 24:14Speaker 5: So you always kind of wanted the centers that weren't
- 24:16Speaker 5: really heavier sex they didn't sweat quite as much. Usually
- 24:19Speaker 5: you could find like the perfect spot where they snapped
- 24:21Speaker 5: it and it's just things that people don't think about.
- 24:24Speaker 5: And then, of course, after you know, these hard training
- 24:26Speaker 5: camp days, you want to talk about the hours upon
- 24:30Speaker 5: hours upon hours that I spent scrubbing the back of
- 24:33Speaker 5: the old right hand with hippoclins and it's still not
- 24:37Speaker 5: doing much.
- 24:39Speaker 2: It sucker.
- 24:40Speaker 5: The back of my right hand was just kin. It's
- 24:42Speaker 5: a situation, y'all get it. I don't need to go
- 24:44Speaker 5: to any more details. But we were talking about centers.
- 24:46Speaker 5: You're talking about ab normally large ones, and I brought
- 24:48Speaker 5: up the name Max Hunger did and it's a little.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I got traded for Hey, he got traded.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Yeah for who from the Seahawks of the Saints for who?
- 24:58Speaker 5: Jim Green?
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah's expl guy, big sports guy, old guy.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Uh So, Max Hunger. I was up there in Seattle
- 25:05Speaker 2: with Max. Awesome. Awesome dude.
- 25:07Speaker 5: It's crazy because he was like six five sixty six,
- 25:11Speaker 5: big guy, three hundred plus and he just looks rugged, right,
- 25:15Speaker 5: So he's got this big beard early kind of like
- 25:18Speaker 5: has like didn't really like clean up the neck either,
- 25:20Speaker 5: so it's kind of you know, he was just like
- 25:21Speaker 5: a if he had an axe in his hand, like
- 25:25Speaker 5: walking around, you'd be like, yeah, that checks out, like
- 25:27Speaker 5: that's normal. But then but he's from Hawaii. So when
- 25:29Speaker 5: you talk to him like what's up, man, and you
- 25:31Speaker 5: think he's gonna be like, oh, he's like dude, what's
- 25:35Speaker 5: up man? And I'm like, wow, I didn't expect that
- 25:38Speaker 5: voice coming from that guy. But uh, super like an
- 25:42Speaker 5: awesome dude. We had the story that connected just real
- 25:44Speaker 5: early on. So when I was in middle school, high school,
- 25:47Speaker 5: like I wasn't like the most athletic person running wise,
- 25:51Speaker 5: like I would never like the fastest. I was kind
- 25:53Speaker 5: of like a yeah, I had big fat ankles whatever.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I would ever like straight line fast agility Like I was.
- 25:58Speaker 5: I was a good athlete. I could throw, I could
- 26:00Speaker 5: I could do things. Like I wanted to improve my speed.
- 26:02Speaker 5: We had this training camp, like this speed camp in Tyler,
- 26:06Speaker 5: Texas growing up called SAQ sack so Speed Agility Quickness,
- 26:09Speaker 5: and it was run by a guy named Tim Powers right,
- 26:12Speaker 5: so he was like a speed gurer. He had been
- 26:13Speaker 5: all over the world trained blah blah blah. He started
- 26:15Speaker 5: the speed camp and let me tell you, I went
- 26:18Speaker 5: to the speed camp for years and I worked with him.
- 26:20Speaker 5: He was my personal trainer. Like early on in high school,
- 26:23Speaker 5: especially like when I got beat out as a sophomore, Like,
- 26:25Speaker 5: I worked with him every day trying to improve my speed,
- 26:27Speaker 5: be it better athlete.
- 26:28Speaker 2: And I attribute him with a lot.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Of success that I had in high school, which led
- 26:32Speaker 5: me to come to LSU and blah blah blah. So
- 26:34Speaker 5: he had a big impact on me. But when I
- 26:36Speaker 5: left went to LSU, I remember him reaching out to
- 26:39Speaker 5: me and saying, hey, you know, I'm leaving Tyler, leaving.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Everything behind him moving to Hawaii because he had been
- 26:45Speaker 2: in Hawaii. I think was military stuff. I don't know
- 26:47Speaker 2: what it was.
- 26:48Speaker 5: So anyway, ten years later, I hadn't thought about him
- 26:51Speaker 5: in a long time, long time. When I get to
- 26:54Speaker 5: Seattle and Max is there, he's like, dude, what's up, bro?
- 26:58Speaker 5: And we start talking about it. He's like, man, I
- 27:00Speaker 5: have known about you since early high school days. He's
- 27:05Speaker 5: like the person that helped me get a scholarship an
- 27:08Speaker 5: organ It was ten powers.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he was my personal trainer. He's telling me the story.
- 27:14Speaker 5: Texas to Hawaii, Hawaii, right, So me and Max were
- 27:18Speaker 5: kind of like kindred spirits there, so we were we
- 27:19Speaker 5: were close when I was in Seattle, and then of
- 27:21Speaker 5: course I finished my career with the Saints, and he
- 27:23Speaker 5: was with the Saints that year, and so it was
- 27:25Speaker 5: it was a good deal. Anyway, there's a little flashback
- 27:29Speaker 5: name there.
- 27:30Speaker 2: It's a great name, it's a great player.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Certainly Saints needed a center and they went and got
- 27:35Speaker 3: one of the best ones.
- 27:36Speaker 5: And Daniel Bashroom said, tankle Flynn, Relax, they're strong, dude.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So your knee goes down to your ankle with no difference.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Not that big of a deal. You can see the
- 27:49Speaker 2: cat you can said. That was a clear there's a
- 27:51Speaker 2: there's a thing there.
- 27:52Speaker 3: This isn't a T Bob situation where you got hoofs.
- 27:54Speaker 3: We can see right, you got fat cankles.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It's okay, they're.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Strong ankles and they're there's a clear movement hill to
- 28:02Speaker 5: my calf.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Okay, if you say so, perfect, all right, when we
- 28:07Speaker 3: come back here on OTB a little would you rather Wednesday?
- 28:11Speaker 2: On one four five.
- 28:12Speaker 3: ESPN, Baton Rouge, Off the bench, I go to Central

- 29:03Speaker 5: It was multiple years ago and everything. We haven't had
- 29:05Speaker 5: to call him out once to fix it. So you're
- 29:07Speaker 5: doing something renovation, whatever it is, call him today, Central
- 29:11Speaker 5: Plumbing at Org nine two.
- 29:15Speaker 6: I had no choice but to hear you.
- 29:21Speaker 3: You stayed in your.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Case diamond again. I felt a bad e treetman like
- 29:37Speaker 7: I'm a princess.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I'm not from the locker room to the airwaves. Gets
- 29:42Speaker 1: off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 29:47Speaker 3: My day was.
- 29:49Speaker 2: You've already wanted me over.
- 29:53Speaker 7: It's fine, don't.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Be along, buy fue Welcome back in OTB. Wednesday morning.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Let's get to a little would you rather Wednesday?
- 30:08Speaker 2: First? One from me?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Would you rather play Tennessee baseball in a series away
- 30:17Speaker 3: in Knoxville, sweep them and then also play them in
- 30:22Speaker 3: the National Championship Series in the College World Series and
- 30:25Speaker 3: sweep them, or beat Alabama in an SEC championship game
- 30:32Speaker 3: in football?
- 30:32Speaker 8: Do we win the national championship in football that year?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Two?
- 30:35Speaker 8: You do Alabama football?
- 30:38Speaker 2: Actually? Former, don't. It's too easy. That's too easy. You don't,
- 30:41Speaker 2: But you win an SEC CHAMPI.
- 30:42Speaker 9: Okay, because I'm saying like baseball's one two of the
- 30:44Speaker 9: last threeball.
- 30:46Speaker 3: So you sweep Tennessee on the road in Knoxville, and
- 30:49Speaker 3: you sweep them in Omaha, or you beat Alabama for
- 30:52Speaker 3: an SEC football championship the former, okay.
- 30:56Speaker 7: Yeah, Because I just they think that they are the.
- 31:01Speaker 6: Standard and the pinnacle of college baseball, and they think
- 31:06Speaker 6: that they made college baseball relevant, and that's just not
- 31:09Speaker 6: true at all. So I love any opportunity that we
- 31:12Speaker 6: get to humble them.
- 31:13Speaker 8: So the Alabama went like, you win for the SEC Championship.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, it's.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Tough because I can't take how successful baseball's been out
- 31:26Speaker 3: of my mind because I like, I agree with the
- 31:28Speaker 3: Landra like I want to be like all that run
- 31:31Speaker 3: that y'all had was cute, it was good, and you
- 31:33Speaker 3: are a good baseball program. But we are the golden
- 31:36Speaker 3: standard of college baseball and we've won two to the
- 31:40Speaker 3: last three. We've won eight overall, you've won a title
- 31:44Speaker 3: one singular, So that part of it. I want to
- 31:47Speaker 3: be petty with a Landra there. But football needs a
- 31:50Speaker 3: little uh, a little both and a little love. They
- 31:52Speaker 3: need a little title in their life.
- 31:54Speaker 5: Yep, yeah, the I know because baseball is so so hot.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Now I'm gonna I'm gonna say Alabama in the in
- 32:04Speaker 5: the football game, right even though Alabama is not the
- 32:06Speaker 5: same right now, like I would like to. I love
- 32:08Speaker 5: this question. A couple of years ago. A Saban's still there, right,
- 32:10Speaker 5: you'd like to beat him in the SEC Championship. But
- 32:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna say that for one reason because if we
- 32:17Speaker 5: beat Tennessee in the National Championship Series, that means they
- 32:20Speaker 5: made it to the National Championship Series. Which means they
- 32:24Speaker 5: still can claim like a good program. Of course not
- 32:26Speaker 5: the gold standard, but like they still got a little
- 32:29Speaker 5: juice coming off of that, even though it would suck
- 32:31Speaker 5: to lose to US obviously be swept for the season,
- 32:34Speaker 5: but that still would mean that they had a pretty
- 32:37Speaker 5: damn good year.
- 32:38Speaker 6: So can't you say the same for the SEC championship
- 32:42Speaker 6: or No, I just don't really care about Bama that
- 32:46Speaker 6: much to care enough to be.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I think don't either.
- 32:49Speaker 9: Like, if there's a regular season Bama, sure you're beating
- 32:51Speaker 9: Bama for the SEC Championship. Also, you win the SEC,
- 32:56Speaker 9: you're a number one seed in that college football playoff.
- 32:58Speaker 8: Everything's set up for you.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Yeah, And it's just kind of where the l SU
- 33:02Speaker 5: football has been, you know, not been in the place.
- 33:03Speaker 8: The need they need help.
- 33:07Speaker 2: I mean we can if we do that, we can
- 33:09Speaker 2: still beat somebody else in the national championships. In baseball, it's tough,
- 33:15Speaker 2: but I.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Go Alabama just because of the success of the two programs,
- 33:19Speaker 3: although I would enjoy giving the two the do d
- 33:23Speaker 3: X signed to Tennessee baseball. You know, two words for
- 33:26Speaker 3: you situation, So all right, Flynn, you got one.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yep, got it?
- 33:32Speaker 5: Not sports related, would you rather spend an entire weekend
- 33:38Speaker 5: in a completely blackout dark room or a room that
- 33:43Speaker 5: has really like bright stadium lights that never go off.
- 33:49Speaker 7: Your entire life for a weekend for a weekend.
- 33:52Speaker 5: Right, let's just say bright lights that never not like
- 33:56Speaker 5: soothing light.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I think bright lights because I can't. I don't want
- 34:01Speaker 3: to do darkness like the retreat that your boy did
- 34:05Speaker 3: not for me to do it. I like sleeping completely
- 34:08Speaker 3: dark like a hotel.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Love it. Let's blackout curtain.
- 34:11Speaker 3: We're gonna put the clothespin on the curtain to make
- 34:13Speaker 3: sure it doesn't open up because I'm gonna sleep. I
- 34:15Speaker 3: enjoy that, but I ain't trying to do darkness like
- 34:19Speaker 3: buried alive would be the worst way to go, and
- 34:21Speaker 3: that would give me a buried alive type feel a
- 34:23Speaker 3: little bit. I can close my eyes even in bright
- 34:27Speaker 3: bright light and find a way to sleep somehow.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I think like if I just get on my you.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Know, my stomach or something, bury my head bright light.
- 34:34Speaker 9: Also, think about how long it's going to take your
- 34:36Speaker 9: eyes to adjust once you get that light. Yep, if
- 34:40Speaker 9: you've been in darkness for like three days, seems awful.
- 34:43Speaker 2: I mean it would work the opposite way as well.
- 34:46Speaker 6: Okay, so I have the option of spending three days
- 34:49Speaker 6: in total darkness or three days in stadium bright lights
- 34:51Speaker 6: that don't turn off.
- 34:52Speaker 7: That's okay.
- 34:54Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with darkness because then I could just
- 34:56Speaker 6: sleep for like three days straight, like just catch up
- 34:59Speaker 6: on rest. Yeah, and I hate No, I don't think.
- 35:03Speaker 2: I could do it the bright light.
- 35:05Speaker 7: Yeah no, I don't think I can. I don't think
- 35:06Speaker 7: i'd be able to sleep if you close your eyes,
- 35:08Speaker 7: it's still yeah.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Yeah, the sleep deprivation threat, Yeah, you got that threat
- 35:14Speaker 2: on it. I mean maybe you can't. Maybe maybe two.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Days of being or what are the stipulations behind straight?
- 35:20Speaker 2: I think we're raw dogging this.
- 35:22Speaker 6: Like just raw dog like you're just in a dark
- 35:25Speaker 6: room for three days or a bright room for three days,
- 35:27Speaker 6: no books, no phones, nothing.
- 35:31Speaker 7: I'm still taking darkness, I think.
- 35:32Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think when I said the question and
- 35:35Speaker 5: wrote it down, I was leaning towards darkness. But now
- 35:38Speaker 5: I'm leaning more towards light because I think after it's
- 35:41Speaker 5: three days. I think after two days, sleep deprivation will
- 35:44Speaker 5: just like probably force.
- 35:45Speaker 2: You to sleep a little bit. It will be miserable.
- 35:49Speaker 5: But then I started thinking, like in the darkness, this
- 35:52Speaker 5: is what I thought about, Like when Aaron went into
- 35:54Speaker 5: his darkness retreat. It's like when you got to go
- 35:56Speaker 5: number two, how do you know when you're done cleaning up?
- 36:01Speaker 8: So that's the thing, That's what I'm saying. Like, at
- 36:03Speaker 8: least with the lights, I can walk around, I can
- 36:05Speaker 8: see things, like I know what I'm doing. It's pitch black,
- 36:09Speaker 8: like it's a yes for like three days.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Then you go after that.
- 36:14Speaker 8: Yeah, and I'm good on that.
- 36:17Speaker 2: How man for getting.
- 36:20Speaker 6: Detailed like you were in this studio and it's just
- 36:25Speaker 6: pitch black, Yep, I can do it.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Good thought provoker, give me the light.
- 36:34Speaker 3: Would you rather have Shack's free throw percentage or Tony
- 36:38Speaker 3: Romo's playoff Luck?
- 36:40Speaker 8: Wait, what was the h Shack's playoff percentage? You want
- 36:44Speaker 8: four rings?
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yeah? But he won four rings? Didn't say your Shack. Yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 2: it just says.
- 36:54Speaker 5: You better go tourn rob because you ain't making the
- 36:56Speaker 5: league with that without Shack's height and ability which a
- 37:00Speaker 5: free throw.
- 37:00Speaker 9: It's true if I don't have check'sy like if I'm
- 37:02Speaker 9: mean and Tony Romo is actually doing okay for himself.
- 37:05Speaker 3: True, A lot of money I don't know.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Jim.
- 37:12Speaker 5: A lot of opinions out there. I've given him mine.
- 37:13Speaker 5: I do not like him on the on the call.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I don't know they're going to ringo here. I think
- 37:20Speaker 2: it's going to the right.
- 37:21Speaker 4: I don't.
- 37:21Speaker 8: I don't either.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Oh, I think he's gonna throw it here. He just checked.
- 37:25Speaker 2: It's a straight man of man pressed. Oh we shocker, shocker.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I love a quarterback.
- 37:32Speaker 3: You can hear the hot mic going, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Jim,
- 37:34Speaker 3: I think it's going to the left.
- 37:39Speaker 2: How did he guess all those plays?
- 37:40Speaker 4: Is incredible.
- 37:42Speaker 2: It's funny.
- 37:43Speaker 3: It's funny how many people like that, because Katie hates
- 37:45Speaker 3: it when I do it, She's.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Like, we get it. Cool.
- 37:49Speaker 3: You heard the call and you know what that means.
- 37:52Speaker 9: So that that's the point though, Like glend knows the call.
- 37:55Speaker 9: That's why, that's why he doesn't like it, right, Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 9: I mean, why just all I don't like Tony Ramos.
- 38:01Speaker 8: I'm going I'm going check.
- 38:02Speaker 5: I thought you did some When was who was the
- 38:05Speaker 5: last Cowboys quarterback you liked?
- 38:07Speaker 2: In my lifetime?
- 38:08Speaker 8: There might not be one Cooper rush God, Cooper rush Man.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Who who is the guy in the early two.
- 38:15Speaker 9: Thousand, Quincy Carter two thousand. He was only there like
- 38:19Speaker 9: what two years, A.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Couple of games. It had been great. Matt hadn't been great.
- 38:24Speaker 5: It hadn't been I told you I grew up a man,
- 38:26Speaker 5: like when I met Troy Aikman for the first time,
- 38:29Speaker 5: because I grew up in the nineties. I grew up
- 38:30Speaker 5: in Super Bowl parties like every year and my rookie year,
- 38:33Speaker 5: I'm on a like before the game, before pregame, just
- 38:37Speaker 5: like warming up, blah blah blah. And I got to
- 38:38Speaker 5: meet Troy Aigman. I was like a pretty cool moment
- 38:40Speaker 5: for me. And then he called a couple of games
- 38:42Speaker 5: that I started, which was which was awesome.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Yeah, he's he's a good person to have a cold
- 38:46Speaker 3: pop with.
- 38:47Speaker 2: It looks like he was.
- 38:49Speaker 3: He was at Nors retirement party we had a couple
- 38:51Speaker 3: of years ago, and just it was it was very cool.
- 38:56Speaker 8: I believe has his own beer.
- 38:58Speaker 6: He does eight or something like that.
- 39:03Speaker 7: It's actually really good.
- 39:04Speaker 6: So they have it at my grandpa at Long Branch
- 39:07Speaker 6: and it's actually really good. It's like low calorie, low carb,
- 39:11Speaker 6: and it's a very light like pills and are kind
- 39:14Speaker 6: of thing.
- 39:15Speaker 8: Yeah, it's really good though. Eight elite light beer.
- 39:18Speaker 2: All right, it's so good.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Yeah, ninety calories, two point eight carbs.
- 39:27Speaker 2: So it's a health fit.
- 39:29Speaker 8: It's a healthy beer.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's a healthy it is.
- 39:31Speaker 7: Yeah, but it tastes great.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Not as good as do skis true.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Nothing tastes as good as doll sekis a championship de
- 39:39Speaker 6: secies fire.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Would you rather party with the one Miami Hurricane team
- 39:46Speaker 3: for one night or take a weekend trip to Vegas
- 39:49Speaker 3: with Dennis Rodman and no rules?
- 39:53Speaker 7: I hate Vegas, Somago party Miami.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I played against some of those cats in
- 39:59Speaker 3: the NFL. They were They were fun too.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm going to d J.
- 40:04Speaker 3: Williams was my teammate in Denver. I guys, Yeah, the
- 40:08Speaker 3: guy was a good, fun human.
- 40:10Speaker 8: Beings like Dennis Rodbin's weird.
- 40:13Speaker 2: You don't know what you I.
- 40:15Speaker 5: Love to have a good time as much as the
- 40:16Speaker 5: next you know. I love to have a cold pop,
- 40:18Speaker 5: have fun, share a few laughs with some friends. But
- 40:20Speaker 5: like a trip with Dennis Rodman and his prime to
- 40:23Speaker 5: Vegas would terrifying.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna I wouldn't go to Vegas, but I'd
- 40:26Speaker 6: go somewhere else with Dennis Rodman.
- 40:30Speaker 5: I saw Dennis Robin on the sidewalk in Chicago one time,
- 40:33Speaker 5: just like sitting there having a little wine, having some.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Standard brown, got it standard the standard dollar, I get it.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Definitely going with the robmin for the weekend, said Scott Dice.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yeah that mean, can you imagine the like, Hey, the
- 40:58Speaker 2: old woman, He's gonna be fun.
- 41:00Speaker 3: If you're going to Miami too, and you're all up
- 41:01Speaker 3: there with with Ed Reed and the crew, Regie like, yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 3: you're doing.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I mean, but in partying it with the
- 41:10Speaker 5: group is way more fun. The group you'd have in
- 41:12Speaker 5: Vegas would be like Rodman and a bunch of people
- 41:15Speaker 5: who paid to be there.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I don't want that. I don't want
- 41:18Speaker 2: that either. I want to be like with a group
- 41:20Speaker 2: group from a bros.
- 41:22Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break in about twelve minutes
- 41:24Speaker 3: from now.

- 43:02Speaker 3: just you know, having great storytime during the break, great
- 43:05Speaker 3: great story time, getting all the ins and outs of
- 43:10Speaker 3: the wild T Bob aver in Omaha, and I am
- 43:15Speaker 3: so happy for my guy that he had that experience
- 43:18Speaker 3: and so many people were excited to see him. I
- 43:21Speaker 3: know that made his heart grow three sizes, you know,
- 43:24Speaker 3: having people come up to him. He got a chance
- 43:26Speaker 3: to talk like baseball with him and just vibe out
- 43:29Speaker 3: with Tiger fans. T Bob loves that, and it felt
- 43:33Speaker 3: like he got to do it all three four days
- 43:35Speaker 3: he was there, whatever hover long you got were there.
- 43:36Speaker 6: It was the entire time, like I'm telling you, the
- 43:39Speaker 6: entire time that we were with him, people were stopping
- 43:42Speaker 6: him and we So I was telling y' all that
- 43:44Speaker 6: we all went to dinner after the the championship. Yep,
- 43:48Speaker 6: it was me, Rivers and T Bob and then we
- 43:50Speaker 6: were we had dinner, and then we were sitting at
- 43:52Speaker 6: the bar after dinner at the hotel or whatever, and
- 43:56Speaker 6: this one group kept like not bother him, but talking
- 44:00Speaker 6: to him and like asking him for pictures and stuff.
- 44:03Speaker 7: Right, and one of them kept telling me.
- 44:05Speaker 6: And Rivers like, oh, y'all know, y'all are hanging out
- 44:09Speaker 6: with like the coolest guy ever.
- 44:10Speaker 7: Right. He told us that like twice and wet.
- 44:15Speaker 6: And may Rivers were like, all right, relax, like he's
- 44:17Speaker 6: we like him just fine, but like we're probably the
- 44:20Speaker 6: cooler ones here. But yeah, it was it was like
- 44:23Speaker 6: traveling with Elvis.
- 44:24Speaker 7: It was crazy.
- 44:26Speaker 6: Every two seconds somebody was stopping him. But yeah, I mean,
- 44:29Speaker 6: y'all know how he is. He is an incredibly like
- 44:32Speaker 6: engaging person and wants to like really care and hear
- 44:37Speaker 6: what you have to say.
- 44:38Speaker 7: So it was a lot of talking.
- 44:41Speaker 3: He was going to stop and talk to you every
- 44:43Speaker 3: every single.
- 44:44Speaker 2: One of them.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Ye.
- 44:45Speaker 7: Yeah, I was exhausted.
- 44:47Speaker 5: So was there a moment where he looked at his
- 44:48Speaker 5: eyes and you said, this is this is too much?
- 44:52Speaker 7: Probably like toward the end of the night.
- 44:54Speaker 6: I think he was starting to get talked out. Yeah,
- 44:57Speaker 6: like the end of Sunday night. Yeah, I think it
- 45:00Speaker 6: is the end of Sunday night that.
- 45:03Speaker 2: To get to him.
- 45:04Speaker 7: Yeah. No, seriously, we were eating, people were coming up
- 45:06Speaker 7: to us while we were eating.
- 45:08Speaker 6: The only one that was acceptable to do that was
- 45:10Speaker 6: Ben McDonald.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Yeah, can come on.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Yeah, cover Ben, Yeah, we love him.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny.
- 45:17Speaker 3: I didn't know that Bob had never met Ben yeh
- 45:19Speaker 3: until that moment because we used to have been on
