  So in complete disclosure, candid openness, vulnerability,

  if you will, I'll say that one of my weakest points in my life

  is that I tend to take things upon myself and strategize and
• 0:35
  execute my life according to the strategies that I think make the
• 0:39
  most sense. And because of my, my past, I
• 0:43
  tend to be hyper vigilant. So I'm, I'm always watching, I'm
• 0:47
  always interpreting the things around me, everything.
• 0:52
  It's like I'm like constantly absorbing information, right?
• 0:58
  And, and it's often that I turn this information into strategy
• 1:02
  maps in my head. And so that I'm, I'm constantly
• 1:06
  running ahead of myself in my head making like plan A, Plan B,
• 1:10
  plan C, plan D. If, if this thing happens, then
• 1:13
  we're going to switch B to B .2. And it gets real complicated.
• 1:17
  OK, It's, it's not an easy yoke. It's not the Jesus yoke.
• 1:22
  And so I followed the Lord to this new job that I have now,
• 1:25
  this new employment place. You know, I've been wondering
• 1:28
  for over about two years now like Lord, what am, what am I?
• 1:33
  What am I doing? And he's been working on how was
• 1:38
  your being? OK, So where I've been asking
• 1:42
  the Lord, what am I doing with my life, my time, my energy, my
• 1:45
  gifts, my talents? He's like, let's look at your
• 1:48
  being. Let's work on how you are being
• 1:51
  deep in your heart. Let's look at how what's in your
• 1:55
  heart is affecting your circumstances.
• 1:57
  Let's work on the secret places of your heart and stop worrying
• 2:01
  about the doing. Because he said to me, Carly,
• 2:04
  you, you have to stop thinking of being and doing as two
• 2:07
  separate things. Sometimes you just being
• 2:10
  somewhere is you doing something because of what you carry,
• 2:12
  because of what I've given you, because of who I am in the life
• 2:15
  that you call yours. It's not yours, it's mine.
• 2:20
  And when you and I are somewhere, we are being the
• 2:23
  change that needs to happen in that place, whether you're
• 2:26
  saying something or you're not saying anything, whether you're
• 2:28
  doing something or you're not doing anything.
• 2:32
  And so as this journey has gone on, I've asked the Lord, OK,
• 2:35
  well where do I plug this being into something?
• 2:41
  See me trying to work around the matter now, how do I plug my
• 2:44
  being into a place where my being can become some measurable
• 2:51
  benefit? And he said, it can only come
• 2:57
  you being plugged into someplace to that then produces a
• 3:01
  measurable, measurable benefit can only come when it stops
• 3:07
  being about you and what you're doing stops being about you and
• 3:12
  how you're going to show up for me in places.
• 3:17
  So he brought me to this new job.
• 3:18
  It wasn't a job I would have picked for myself.
• 3:20
  It's not a place I would have picked for myself.
• 3:23
  But he brought me there. And one of the first things one
• 3:26
  of my Co workers said to me in response to me being there was,
• 3:31
  I'm so glad you're here. It's just you being here makes a
• 3:36
  difference. And I was like, oh, I recognize
• 3:40
  the Lord's voice in that because that's what I'd been asking him
• 3:44
  about. And so I journeyed forward and,
• 3:47
  and because it wasn't a place that I would have chosen for
• 3:50
  myself. Now some of y'all may be in this
• 3:51
  kind of place where you didn't, you didn't climb the ladder to
• 3:55
  get here. You didn't acquire this of
• 3:57
  yourself. This wasn't part of your
• 3:58
  strategy. But the Lord brought you to a
• 4:00
  place. Now, now in this place, we have
• 4:03
  to be very careful not to take the burden of responsibility
• 4:08
  onto our old shoulders and start thinking of what needs to be
• 4:12
  done and how we're going to do it.
• 4:14
  So as I've been here, the Lord has been talking to me about the
• 4:16
  smallest things in life. When I go to work and I'm
• 4:20
  walking around and I'm talking to people and I'm seeing people
• 4:23
  and I'm listening to people, I'm thinking to myself, what are you
• 4:25
  saying, Lord, what is this? What this is yours?
• 4:29
  What is, what is it? What do you have to say about
• 4:32
  it? Show me your face in this
• 4:35
  moment. And even the smallest bit of
• 4:38
  his, of his face, of his presence, of understanding how
• 4:41
  he's moving in a moment, it can really change your life over
• 4:45
  time. And so I've just been doing
• 4:48
  that. And, and sometimes I end up
• 4:50
  being a little weird for Jesus. You know, he gives me words to
• 4:53
  give to people I've never spoken to before.
• 4:55
  And that's all right. Because, you know, it's better
• 4:58
  to be weird for Jesus than to experience the regret of
• 5:03
  disobedience. And so I found myself now even
• 5:07
  going to the grocery store and like, hey, Jesus, which one of
• 5:11
  these bundles of bananas are you giving me is for me this week?
• 5:15
  Which one of these packs of chicken are you giving me?
• 5:19
  Jesus, when you get to the point in your life where you're not
• 5:22
  even picking out your groceries based on what you think is best,
• 5:26
  you're moving in a place of obedience and surrender that he
• 5:30
  finds so sweet because there isn't a lot to gain in our own
• 5:35
  strength. And he'll split.
• 5:38
  He'll put special blessings on things that it don't seem like
• 5:43
  very consequential, that banana pack or that banana pack.
• 5:47
  Well, if he says this one on the right, trust me, He's put a
• 5:50
  special blessing on those bananas for you.
• 5:53
  Part of it is because of your obedience and part of it because
• 5:55
  he's a good father and he gives good gifts and he cares about
• 5:59
  those little things. He cares about all of it.
• 6:02
  He cares. And the fact that we will go
• 6:05
  grocery shopping with Jesus could It can change your life.
• 6:09
  Which one of these is mine, Lord?
• 6:11
  Which one of these do you have for me?
• 6:14
  I mean, think about how children are.
• 6:15
  Doesn't the Bible tell you to be like one of these little ones?
• 6:20
  Start going about your life like that with everything.
• 6:25
  Come to him like a child, because it's a sweet, tender
• 6:29
  place in his heart when his beloved's come to him with that
• 6:34
  innocent faith.
