A Brooklyn resident nearly lost irreplaceable family heirloom rings—only to have sanitation workers pull off a heroic rescue. After tossing the rings with the trash, they flagged down crews on July 28th, who rerouted the entire truck to sift through 20,000 pounds of garbage.
