- 2:33Ladies and gentlemen, the Yankees captain, alfielder Aaron
- 2:37Judge, was named the 2025 American League MVP on Thursday.
- 2:44It is his third MVP in just four years.
- 2:48He's the 13th player in MLB history and the fourth Yankee to
- 2:53win three or more MVPS. It was a tight race as Judge
- 2:58received 17 first place votes to Seattle's catcher Cal Rally, who
- 3:04got 13. The two also split all of the
- 3:08second place votes. Guardians third baseman Jose
- 3:11Ramirez finished a distant third despite Rally.
- 3:15Sixty home runs and 125 RB is Judge LED Rally in every other
- 3:22important category. Offensively, many voted for
- 3:26Rally due to his ability and his ability to defensively play the
- 3:31catcher, position and demand and importance of position both
- 3:36defensively and to the pitching staff.
- 3:40Those sentiments were not enough, however, as Judge, with
- 3:4653 home runs this year, also became just the fourth player in
- 3:51MLB history with four different seasons of 50 or more home runs
- 3:56months. He became the fifth player since
- 3:591961 to lead the league in a batting average, slugging
- 4:03percentage and on base percentage in a single season.
- 4:07He also intentionally walked an American League record 36 times.
- 4:16A lot of people would say this was a Barry Bonds season.
- 4:20For the one and only Aaron Judge, it is an amazing season
- 4:25with a lot of ups and downs. And I say ups and downs because
- 4:29Aaron Judge in the beginning of the season was a world beater.
- 4:32He was averaging 400 for almost two months, probably the longest
- 4:37streak we've seen in about 25 years.
- 4:41And the importance of who he is and what he does in a lineup
- 4:46that could get so cold really at any point of the season shows
- 4:52you how important he is to a line up.
- 4:54He he is the indictment of MVP, Most Valuable Player to your
- 5:01team. When you think about Cal Rally,
- 5:04and I'm not taking it away from Cal rally, what he's done
- 5:06defensively as a catcher at how he, you know, obviously helps a
- 5:11pen and, and in the rotation and what he could do on a field.
- 5:15He's a switch hitter. We haven't seen a switch hitter
- 5:17this good and hitting as many home runs.
- 5:19It's Mickey Mantle. I I love him as a person.
- 5:23I I love the fact after after finding out that Aaron Judge won
- 5:28the MVP, he posted up on social media congratulations to Judge,
- 5:32one of the best players in the league and he gave him all his
- 5:34props and that shows you the type of person Cal Rally is.
- 5:38I I'm not surprised that Aaron Judge won because this is really
- 5:43a competition from the National League to the American League.
- 5:45I think the two best players in the world is Aaron Judge and
- 5:49Shay Ohtani. I think we will continue to
- 5:51argue that all the way through for the next three to four years
- 5:55because these guys are that much better than everybody else.
- 5:59But what makes this feat so interesting and so crazy is
- 6:05really the fact of these numbers from 1961.
- 6:09Think about it to to have the best batting average, the best
- 6:12slugging percentage and on base percentage in a single season to
- 6:16have something like this for over almost what it's got to be
- 6:20about 70 years since we've seen a player do this that to me won
- 6:25him the MVP. I, you could take away what
- 6:28everybody thinks what Cal rally is as a defensive player and as
- 6:32a catcher and as a switch hitter to, to lead the league in, in
- 6:36numbers. And, and when you look at the
- 6:39statistics that the analytics they put together and baseball
- 6:42really tries to, tries to build up through mimicking from decade
- 6:48after decade after decade. Aaron Judge speaks highly of
- 6:53what he is as a number, a numbers player and highly as a
- 6:56leader. I think he's the greatest leader
- 6:58we've seen the Yankees have. I don't know Derek Cheetah
- 7:01personally. I don't know how he was in a
- 7:03locker room. I've heard over the over the
- 7:06years that as good as Derek Cheetah was as a leader, Alex
- 7:09Rodriguez was just as good a leader in the locker room for
- 7:12the Yankees. Now, I don't know if that's
- 7:14true, but that's what I've heard through ex players that we've
- 7:16talked to. What Aaron Judge does for the
- 7:20Yankees is to me everything for who the Yankees are and what the
- 7:24Yankees stand for now. And you can say whatever you
- 7:27want. Aaron Judge took less money to
- 7:29stay with the Yankees. He could have went to play for
- 7:31the Giants. He could have he could have
- 7:33played for San Francisco. I I'm not sure, but I think he's
- 7:35from the San Francisco area. He could have went to play for
- 7:38his home team, his parents going to every single one of his home
- 7:41games. But he it was.
- 7:43Fresno State. I, I don't, I don't know.
- 7:45I, I, I thought he's from San Francisco.
- 7:48Yeah. So I, my, my thought here is, is
- 7:51that Aaron Judge chose the Yankees and he wanted to be a
- 7:54Yankee for life and he wanted to be in pinstripes for life.
- 7:57And he knew the pressures of being here and what he needed to
- 8:00do to lead this team. He hasn't won a championship and
- 8:03his career could lead towards not winning the championship.
- 8:07But right now at 33 years old, this man is in my eyes has been
- 8:13the best player in the league for three years.
- 8:15I don't think you can argue the numbers and, and everybody says
- 8:19every single year about this guy, how do you beat the year
- 8:21before? How do you beat the year before?
- 8:23And it seems like every single year he shows everybody why he
- 8:28is so special, not only to the Yankees organization, to
- 8:31baseball internationally, it goes to Otani, but what it is
- 8:35and what it stands for to be in pinstripes and to play in New
- 8:38York and take the pressures of New York.
- 8:40And what he did in the playoffs this year, hitting 500 when he
- 8:44was the only one hitting in the playoffs, says a great deal of
- 8:48who he is as a person and as a leader.
- 8:50Congratulations to Cal Raleigh. I'm not going to take anything
- 8:54away from him. And if Aaron Judge was not Aaron
- 8:57Judge, Cal Raleigh runs away with the MVPI.
- 9:01Don't even think you can argue that.
- 9:02But what Aaron Judge has done in the last four years is
- 9:06remarkable. And I don't know how you beat
- 9:09this year and, and go into another season where you could
- 9:12say, well, try to beat that Aaron I.
- 9:15And is it, if there's anybody that can go into a season and
- 9:18you can believe that he is going to beat out what he did the year
- 9:21before, it's Aaron Judge. It's in a remarkable, remarkable
- 9:25feat. And I, I'm not doing this as a
- 9:27Yankee fan. And I honestly, anybody that
- 9:29knows me, my favorite player on the Yankees is not Aaron Judge.
- 9:33So it says a lot about what I think of the superstar players.
- 9:37This guy is everything to what it be it.
- 9:41It is to be a New York Yankee, everything to be a New York
- 9:44Yankee. Say whatever you want.
- 9:46You want to hate the Yankees organization as they call them
- 9:50the the Evil Empire. This team has not been the Evil
- 9:53Empire since then the the late 90s and early 2000s.
- 9:58The Yankees need something to draw to be a draw.
- 10:01And this guy is the draw for the Yankees.
- 10:04And, and, and I think it's well deserved.
- 10:06Congratulations to Aaron Judge, well deserved season.
- 10:09I don't think there's anybody that could take away this
- 10:12sensational year he had. Yeah, you reference at the
- 10:15beginning of the of your of your take of the closest thing with a
- 10:18Barry Bonds type season because you're not going to have that
- 10:21kind of thing in terms of total home runs in the post steroid
- 10:24era unless obviously the guy might be taking steroids.
- 10:26But again, Aaron Judge has as complete of a hitting season as
- 10:29you can have when you lead in 11 offensive statistics.
- 10:32And like you said, going back all the way to 1961, that's
- 10:35right at the start of MLB expansion like that is
- 10:37considered the 50s and the 60s in terms of the quality of play
- 10:41is considered the the toughest era for pitching.
- 10:43So. Isn't that the last time
- 10:45Cleveland actually won a champion?
- 10:46That was. Even further back, that was
- 10:481948. I'm just saying, I mean, when
- 10:51you think about it, it's it's been a long.
- 10:53Time, yeah, and. Goody, I wasn't making front of
- 10:56the guardians, I'm just trying to.
- 10:57Be so you're judging you're judging him match up with some
- 11:00of the best home run hitting seasons, the best complete all
- 11:03around seasons of that time. Now you're judging in the Yankee
- 11:06Sister where he becomes one of four guys to have four different
- 11:0950 home run seasons and. Name those guys.
- 11:12Yeah, it was. It was Yogi Berra.
- 11:13It was it was Joe DiMaggio and it was Lou Gehrig and who was
- 11:19Emmanuel Babari. We had him on the show was
- 11:21mentioning that he wasn't sure if they could have with the
- 11:23length of the contract if he's going to have that same kind of
- 11:25thing. And I worried about the time not
- 11:27from 40 million a year for nine years.
- 11:29I worried about the contract at the time too, if he could have
- 11:31lasted the injuries that he was having.
- 11:33And every single year he continues to get better and
- 11:35better in those areas. And the other thing he's gotten
- 11:37better at too is his chase rate is not as high either as what it
- 11:40was in the beginning of his career.
- 11:41That makes him a really, really tough out in this lineup to get
- 11:44that on base percentage up too. That makes it a really all
- 11:47around just amazing season for what, Aaron?
- 11:49And you can't pitch around this guy.
- 11:51He is. He's 6 foot eight, 280 lbs of
- 11:55muscle. You could pitch on the outside.
- 11:57You could pitch on the inside. You can.
- 11:58I mean, look, look what the look at what the Blue Jays did in
- 12:03that series. They tried to pitch inside on
- 12:06his hands and what did he do? He pulled the ball at 100 mph
- 12:09right off the pole. I mean, that's just it just
- 12:12shows you what type of player he is and how special he really is
- 12:16for the Yankees and really for baseball without him.
- 12:19I know everybody keeps talking about what Shay Otani does
- 12:21without a guy in the American League as good as Aaron Judge.
- 12:25It takes away the the stardom that we've seen over the years
- 12:29that baseball is brought to the forefront.
- 12:31I think I haven't. The guy in the National League
- 12:34like Ohtani and having a guy in the American League like Aaron
- 12:38Judge and both on different sides of the world, one in New
- 12:41York and the other one in LA, that's that's what makes
- 12:45baseball crazy right now. And special yeah, I was going to
- 12:48mention that the two biggest markets you could you can market
- 12:51the Yankees and the Dodgers to 1 current New York team and one
- 12:54former New York team moving to LA.
- 12:56And don't say that to anybody. No, I know.
- 12:58But it's still like that kind of rivalry, especially when they
- 13:02played in the World Series. They they, they've been
- 13:03competing with MVPS in the past, Judge, Judge and Otani were neck
- 13:06and neck in 2022. They gave it to Judge.
- 13:08And again, they've been close in a lot of other races too.
- 13:11And that really brings it. But Judge is a different type of
- 13:14player than Otani too, where he he breathe in as a like a rookie
- 13:17was bringing the vibe as a big 6 foot seven guy too.
- 13:19And his impact on baseball is really insurmountable.
- 13:22And now this type of year, topping it off is just
- 13:24fantastic. Yeah, I mean, it was people are
- 13:27like, oh, it was a lot closer than I thought.
- 13:28It didn't surprise me. It it almost a Co MVP for the
- 13:34first time in over 20 years, but something that I really thought
- 13:37was interesting. I don't know if you guys heard
- 13:39it or paid attention or whatever, but Dan Patrick
- 13:42brought this up and I thought it was really interesting.
- 13:45He goes, what if it was switched?
- 13:47What if Cal was in New York and Aaron was in Seattle?
- 13:51How different would it be? And I think that's a very, very
- 13:54good point that that they brought up.
- 13:56And it definitely changes things for sure.
- 14:01But they're they're 2 great years historically that go down
- 14:06for two completely different reasons, right.
- 14:09And obviously one person got the award.
- 14:13Do I think it should have been if it if it was a Co MVP type of
- 14:17year? Yeah, I mean, it, it wouldn't
- 14:19have nobody would have been butthurt.
- 14:21Nobody would have been like, Oh yeah, I mean, obviously people
- 14:26are going to look at it from both perspectives and and either
- 14:29agreed or disagreed. But if it did happen, people
- 14:32weren't going to be up in arms and like, holy crap, you know,
- 14:34it's like we need a we need a recount, like whatever.
- 14:37But yeah, I think it was just somebody had to win.
- 14:41It was unbelievable years by both and to to both of their
- 14:46credits. I mean, obviously great
- 14:47ambassadors of the game, good dude.
- 14:52Don't know either of them, but everybody that I've talked to
- 14:54said they're just great people, which, you know, obviously is is
- 14:57more important than anything you'll ever do on a baseball
- 14:59field. So baseball's in a good spot
- 15:01with those guys being able to. And obviously they're
- 15:04representing USA. So that'll be that'll be fun.
- 15:09But yeah, just it, it's going to be a year where you're going to
- 15:12remember both of these. Obviously you're going to
- 15:15remember Judge getting the MVP, but you're not going to miss
- 15:19like we could talk about it all the time.
- 15:21Who who came in second last year?
- 15:24You know, it's it's one of those seasons where you're not going
- 15:28to forget it like others. And then Jose Ramirez is is is
- 15:32kind of the the he's. Consistently. 3rd a lot.
- 15:36He's always the odd name. There's only been four players
- 15:38in history. They're all Hall of Famers and,
- 15:41and at third base. And Jose Ramirez is is low key
- 15:45probably if he continues down this road is a Hall of Famer
- 15:50because everybody that has been in his situation and done what
- 15:53he's done, they're all Hall of Farmers.
- 15:55And there's only been three others besides him in the
- 15:57history of baseball to do what he's done.
- 16:00And it's just it's he's out of heat.
- 16:02He's playing at a wrong time. When somebody is really, really
- 16:05good and continues to get better over time.
- 16:10Will we will we see how his career unfolds as far as he's
- 16:15still going to play the outcome? Speaking of Judge, is how much
- 16:18longer does he play the outfield?
- 16:19Do they do they try a thing at first or do they move him
- 16:22straight to DH? Father time doesn't lose.
- 16:26So a body that big and and a man that has played as many games,
- 16:31he and obviously there's been some years with some bad luck,
- 16:33right? But I mean, he's he's answers
- 16:36the bell and as many games as he can.
- 16:38So it'll be interesting to see. And then obviously Cal from the
- 16:41other side. It's like, you know, how, how
- 16:43long can he do what he did? I I think it's just it's, it's
- 16:46amazing what he did behind the plate.
- 16:49Be crazy. No pass balls to be able to
- 16:51navigate, you know, 13 different and obviously the guys that are
- 16:55up and down, but thirteen of your main guys trying to make
- 16:57sure that you keep them on their P's and Q's.
- 17:00And it's just two historically great years that this will be
- 17:04one that they go back and you will remember who came in
- 17:07second. And that's a lot to be said for
- 17:10for where the game of baseball's at.
- 17:12I want to bring you back to Errol.
- 17:14When we talked about Raleigh and Judge the first time, I think it
- 17:18was right before the All Star break when Raleigh was leading
- 17:20with the home runs as he went into the Home Run Derby.
- 17:23And I said is he going to have to get 62 home runs to be Judge
- 17:28for the MVP? And I think we decided at the
- 17:32time that he probably would need to have 62.
- 17:35We ended up at 60 and he got close and I think that's the
- 17:39point because the guy only hit 247 on top of all this stuff.
- 17:42I don't know if there's been an MVP who's hit under 250, to be
- 17:46honest with you, ever. I'm not sure.
- 17:49I didn't, I didn't Google that. But I do think if he hit 62
- 17:52instead of 60, they give him the award, You know, that would tie
- 17:55the American League record. It still doesn't mean he had a
- 17:58better season than Judge in my opinion.
- 18:00I think that the stats that I like to look at, it's one of my
- 18:03favorite stats. I know you hate the advanced
- 18:05analytics error. My favorite 1 is this WRC plus
- 18:09and basically it's 100 means you're an average player, like
- 18:13100%. That's average as it comes.
- 18:16Judge is 221 this year. That means that he is 2.21 times
- 18:22better than the average player in baseball.
- 18:26Brawley finished like a 160 something that means Judge is
- 18:2960% of a better hitter than Cal Raleigh is.
- 18:33It wasn't particularly close in that metric.
- 18:37And I know you don't like WAR so much.
- 18:39The Judge was better than him by a whole WAR point as well,
- 18:42despite the fact catcher's a more valuable position.
- 18:45And I want to remind you that Judge Torr partially towards
- 18:49Tommy John ligament in his elbow and had to miss time and
- 18:53couldn't really throw and. Played in the playoffs.
- 18:55Puffed it out, played his average, dropped.
- 18:58It should have been around 3:50, but it dropped because he was
- 19:01playing hurt and it took him a while to get to the point where
- 19:04he can get back. And thankfully he got back in
- 19:06time for the playoffs. Unfortunately, the rest of the
- 19:08team wasn't there. I think what Judge has done is
- 19:11being undersold. I don't think it should have
- 19:12been that close. I think he was significantly
- 19:15better than Raleigh this year. But you know, give Raleigh a lot
- 19:18of credit. It was an amazing season.
- 19:20It's just he's playing in the same league as Aaron Judge.
- 19:22I. Think legal average Cal Raleigh
- 19:25hit higher than the league average like Lee.
- 19:27Overall average is 245. Yeah, I don't think anybody is
- 19:31taking away how good Cal rallies been.
- 19:33I mean I'm not taking away from him.
- 19:36If he won, I would have said or it was it was a Co MVP.
- 19:41I don't think I would argue that either.
- 19:42But it when you look at the metrics like you and I, I do not
- 19:46like analytics the way they bring these analytics to the
- 19:49forefront. The thing that I look at all the
- 19:51time is batting average and I look at home runs and I look at
- 19:55on base percentage. Those are the three things I
- 19:57look. And when I look at that, even
- 20:00with Aaron Judge being out a significant, he was out for
- 20:03three weeks and. He shouldn't have come back.
- 20:06A lot of people thought at the time the Yankees were falling
- 20:09apart and they he needed to come back.
- 20:11As soon as he came back, it took him a while to figure things
- 20:14out. Once he did, the Yankees started
- 20:16winning. Why do you think the Yankees
- 20:17started winning? Was because he started to hit.
- 20:20And I think he just makes a complete difference when we talk
- 20:24about MVP, OK, and I'm not saying Shay Otani isn't the best
- 20:28player in the National League. I would I would absolutely say
- 20:31that he is. When I look at Cheratani, he's
- 20:34playing for a All World Team. The team is unbelievable.
- 20:38He doesn't have to pitch because he's got Yamamoto on that
- 20:41roster. He doesn't have to hit because
- 20:44he's got Friedman and Mookie Betts on that roster and other
- 20:47guys on that roster. What Aaron Judge does for that
- 20:50lineup when we talk about Most Valuable Player is if he hits
- 20:57and he puts, if he's 3 for four or three for five, there's a
- 21:01good chance the Yankees are going to win that game.
- 21:03And that's because what he does is he puts every pitcher in that
- 21:09position to say, well, I can pitch around him.
- 21:12But if I pitch around him or try to pitch around him, I is still
- 21:15going to be chasing. He's still going to try to hit
- 21:17the ball out of out of the ballpark or he's trying to try
- 21:19to pull it to the other side of the side of the play, you know,
- 21:22sort of side of the the field. So what makes Aaron Judge so
- 21:26special is you can't pitch around him.
- 21:28He's 6 foot eight. He stands in a box where he just
- 21:31completely dominates. And I remember in the past,
- 21:34everybody says, well, how do you get Aaron Judge?
- 21:37How do you get Aaron Judge out? Well, you got to pitch up high
- 21:39and inside. You can't do that to him anymore
- 21:42because he'll just pull the ball.
- 21:44He did that once. If you look at his numbers on
- 21:46balls right there, balls on the inside, he was hitting less than
- 21:49150. Like he did it once and he just
- 21:51so happened to be in the playoffs.
- 21:52Like, let's not say he's the greatest inside ball hitter.
- 21:55Because I didn't say he's the greatest, but it.
- 21:57Yeah, you said you can't throw him there because he's going to
- 21:59pull it. No, he's not.
- 22:00Well, it's. Amazing he did, though.
- 22:02I think it was just like so bizarre that he pulled that.
- 22:05That's the pitch. That was like the statement of
- 22:08that. Jabba and Jabba, I'm going to
- 22:10give you a little shout out on this when we go into the season
- 22:12this year and he's one of the best at pulling those balls
- 22:15because it seems like every single year he's.
- 22:18Trying to guarantee you it's less than less than 180 of balls
- 22:21in. Her every every year this guy
- 22:25finds a way well how is he going to be better how's he going to
- 22:28be better and he finds something that he wasn't good at and he
- 22:31gets better at I. What are you going to do?
- 22:33When you're wrong that I'm wrong and what I'm what am I going to
- 22:36do when I was I'm right I'm. Not going to be right, I can
- 22:39promise you. That all right well, that's.
- 22:41Your OK so but I want to ask you guys too than this and and
- 22:44you're talking about these stats so so why didn't judge win in
- 22:49against Altuve? I would.
- 22:51It's interesting because obviously Altuve cheated and now
- 22:53that's really more even more tainted for that.
- 22:55I don't know if MLB wants to give it to a rookie as much,
- 22:58which I never had a problem with him giving him.
- 23:00It first of all, first of all. Probably all the other awards
- 23:02that he. Should have won that year, a lot
- 23:04of people believe. That's why that's why I'm
- 23:06asking. I I he should have and and again
- 23:09at the time. I mean, Altuve is what, 5 foot
- 23:116? I mean, and he was putting up
- 23:14these power numbers that we've never seen a a small player put
- 23:17up. I mean, I mean, he was Mugsy
- 23:19Bogues on a baseball field. Honestly, that's what.
- 23:22He wants. He's great.
- 23:24Nobody's taking away how good Jose Altuve is and what he does
- 23:29for the lineup of the the Astros.
- 23:31But that was the year, wasn't that that the year they were
- 23:33caught cheating and and all that other.
- 23:36First year of the schedule. Yeah, so.
- 23:38It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.
- 23:40If you know, I was saying like. Could you imagine Java?
- 23:43Could you? That's bullshit, Java.
- 23:44That's bullshit. You asked some of the greatest
- 23:46players that play this game. They don't want to know the
- 23:50pitch like they would rather not like knowing the pitch sometimes
- 23:54is worse than not knowing trust. Interesting.
- 23:57So why? Do it though.
- 23:58Some people like it, like some people second when you would
- 24:00relay signs, Some people like we have everything.
- 24:03Like we would literally have everything they're like.
- 24:05Don't, don't tell me. I don't want to have a like like
- 24:08Manny Ramirez, they always said was a guest hitter, right?
- 24:11I think it would help guys like that, you know, that they're
- 24:13just looking for a pitch. They know what pitch it is now
- 24:17that now they're they have. It still doesn't matter.
- 24:19I could throw a pitch right down the middle and he missed.
- 24:21They're going to fail 70% of the time, like and you have to
- 24:24remember that. So even though they know the
- 24:26pit, like it just amazes me when people are like, oh, he cheated.
- 24:29Yeah, OK, he cheated. We all know.
- 24:31It pitches like we don't know sometimes when we're tipping and
- 24:33doing the same things. They don't tell us till after
- 24:36they know exactly what we're doing.
- 24:37And I still got guys out. I just think like Jabba, you
- 24:41know, like you're right. And they get out 70% of the time
- 24:44if they're a 300 hitter, right? And that means they're a great
- 24:46player. If they get out 75% of the time,
- 24:49that's 250 hitter. Right.
- 24:51And they're still great nowadays because league average is
- 24:54league. Average, by the way, I looked it
- 24:55up, Otani 257 was the lowest ever batting average for an MVP
- 24:58in 2021. But I don't think that really
- 25:02matters because to me, like if you can get an extra 1 or 2%
- 25:07Java, maybe 32%, I don't fail. Now I'm A320 hitter and now I've
- 25:12gotten enough of a marginal increase that guys throughout
- 25:15sports, you know, looking for that edge.
- 25:18It gives Altuve, you know, five extra home runs.
- 25:20It gives Altuve 15. I don't know.
- 25:22OK, I understand that. So why doesn't everybody?
- 25:25So why do some of the greatest players literally like, like,
- 25:28don't tell me if that's the way you're thinking.
- 25:30I don't. Know that's why I'm asking you
- 25:32because like I was like, you know, why do it then?
- 25:34You know, if it's not, if you don't think it's going to help,
- 25:36then it shouldn't be something you do.
- 25:38I just figured they thought it would help them.
- 25:41All right, fine, if it doesn't really matter if he knows the
- 25:45pitch or not. The fact here is if you were to
- 25:47ask me who was the MVP that year, I would say it was Aaron
- 25:51Judge. That, and I'm not saying because
- 25:54I'm a Yankee fan, that was what Aaron Judge is second year as it
- 25:58was a full, full year. Yeah, yeah, it was his first
- 26:02full year and he was putting up numbers like that.
- 26:04I mean, that by itself is incredible.
- 26:07And, and again, in the American League East, you're in the
- 26:09hardest division in sports. I mean, everybody says the
- 26:12American League. I know, I know it's changed a
- 26:14little bit, but the American League East is the best in
- 26:17baseball. It always is.
- 26:19It really is. And you're you're doing that in
- 26:22the American League East where you're doing that against the
- 26:24Rays, you're doing it against the the Red Sox.
- 26:28I mean, this it's it's harder. It's harder ready to play in
- 26:32baseball and to do the things that you're doing.
- 26:35But to do it the way he was doing it at as a rookie, it's
- 26:39it's even more incredible. So yeah, I guess you could go
- 26:42back, we could go back and forth.
- 26:43I do believe Aaron Judge should be a four time MVP.
- 26:47And by the way, I want to, I want to say something before we
- 26:49get we move on. We got a lot more to get into.
- 26:52I loved how close he is with his family and the way he brought
- 26:59his whole family and he took it away from him.
- 27:01I don't know if anybody noticed that the fact that they were
- 27:04interviewing and his whole family, his, his brother in
- 27:08law's, his, his wife, his mother and father, his dogs were there.
- 27:13And how he took all the, the took the cameras away from
- 27:17himself just to speak about his family.
- 27:20And without his family, he wouldn't be here.
- 27:23And how it wasn't like to be a, a high school player and A, and
- 27:26a peewee based, you know, a young player trying to hit
- 27:30T-ball and talking about his growth as his maturation as a
- 27:34baseball player and, and to become a professional athlete
- 27:37and to do what he's doing. It was something of a dream.
- 27:41And he says this is a dream that it's a long dream that came
- 27:44true. And that's, that says a lot
- 27:46about who Aaron Judge is. He took the spotlight, spotlight
- 27:51off of himself and, and gave it to his family.
- 27:54And I, I love that about him. And I just think that what he
- 27:59brings to the table every single day, his leadership, his
- 28:03personality and, and what it takes to be in pinstripes and
- 28:07the pressure that you have to take and Jabba, you know that
- 28:10when you're in pinstripes, it's a different kind of pressure
- 28:14and. He he should have took that
- 28:16mentality on that that rock looking Halloween outfit though
- 28:19he was rocking. I saw that he could pick.
- 28:21A better fit than that though. I loved it.
- 28:25He didn't have the Fanny pack, though.
- 28:26I know, but man, it was he had that rock vibe.
- 28:29I was like, man, I was. I hopefully it comes out that he
- 28:32did it like as because that's hilarious if he.
- 28:35I got it in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
- 28:38They couldn't get the picture with the whole family, but you
- 28:41got the two puppies there. I mean, Judge is the man, dude.
- 28:44Like, he's the best Yankee I've ever seen.
- 28:47And I've seen championship teams with championship players.
- 28:50But as a single skilled player, talent wise, he had his numbers.
- 28:56He's had four what, 3? Three seasons or Four Seasons
- 28:59over 200 WRC? Players.
- 29:02A rod never got over 200. I, I will say this and, and we,
- 29:07we got to move on, but I will say this.
- 29:10If he, he start, he, he continues on this trajectory,
- 29:14even if he's not going to hit, he's not going to break Babe
- 29:17Ruth's home run record and he's not going to be as beloved as
- 29:21Mickey Mantle was. I'm going to tell you because
- 29:23Mickey Mantle is probably the most beloved Yankee of all time.
- 29:26I don't care what anybody says. He was you talk to.
- 29:28All the. And the most hated from yes, but
- 29:31as far as the Yankee fans are concerned, the first thing the
- 29:34old timers will say, who's your favorite player?
- 29:36Mickey Mantle. Every single Yankee fan, old
- 29:39Yankee fan that I've met, I always ask him like, who's your
- 29:42Yogi Berra is Mickey Mantle? I mean, you ask Michael Kay, you
- 29:46ask anybody. Anybody that's a Yankee fan,
- 29:48they'll tell you Mickey Mantle's their favorite.
- 29:51But I'm just saying he. I'm just, I'm, I know we got to
- 29:55move on, but I'm afraid, I'm afraid if he doesn't win his
- 29:58legacy. I think so too.
- 30:00I think so too. He's got to win.
- 30:02If he wins 1 championship, and I think he will, I think the
- 30:05Yankees will win a championship. I don't think it's this year,
- 30:08but I think it's coming. And I, I do believe that there's
- 30:12a big trade that's going to happen very, very soon that
- 30:15could change the trajectory, the trajectory of the New York
- 30:19Yankees. So we'll see.
- 30:21There's a, there's a good chance it could happen a lot sooner
- 30:24than later. And everybody knows who I'm
- 30:26talking about. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 30:28Speedy Stat of the Week. The speedy well, you may run
- 30:36like me, but you hit like stat of the week because they don't.
- 30:41Have tongues. All right, so I'm going to go
- 30:44into one Fish. You might like this one.
- 30:46It's you being an offensive and defensive line coach.
- 30:49Unblock sacks is something that is the theme this week.
- 30:53They were mentioning it during the Bills and the Bucs game.
- 30:56And the Buccaneers have lead the NFL right now with 10 unblocked
- 31:00sacks. So obviously defender going
- 31:03untouched. I'm sure, Fish, you teach all
- 31:04your guys all the technique and stuff like that, and they've had
- 31:0767, which is 10 more, 10 highest to the next NFL team since Todd
- 31:12Bowles took over as the defensive coordinator in 2019.
- 31:15Didn't help him much against the Bills, but it's an interesting
- 31:18stat about Todd Bowles and his blitz packages.
- 31:20They keep working. If you got unblocked sacks, you
- 31:24got a good deep coordinator. That's that's really what that
- 31:26means. I will say this, I, I, I, I'm
- 31:30not a big Todd Bowles fan because he coached my Jets and
- 31:33he only had one good season and that was his rookie season as a
- 31:36head coach. And he was pretty much down and
- 31:39out after that. And he was gone within three
- 31:41years after that one season. I will say this about Todd
- 31:45Bowles, his transition as a defensive coordinator into a
- 31:49coach with Tampa Bay and really the development of Baker
- 31:52Mayfield and everybody likes to compliment Canales and, and, and
- 31:56all the offensive coordinators that have been there.
- 31:58I think Todd Bowles deserves a little bit more credit than a
- 32:01lot of people don't give him credit for.
- 32:03And I think he was the head coach when the transition came
- 32:07and he's been the coach for the transition of what it is now as
- 32:12the team. And I think they're a contender.
- 32:14If they can get back Mike Evans before seasons end and I believe
- 32:17he could come back. There's a there's a chance that
- 32:20he could be back and so will Godwin.
- 32:22Godwin will definitely be back. We'll see.
- 32:25And Bucky Irvin hasn't even played yet.
- 32:27When Bucky Irving comes back, they can have a running game.
- 32:29This is a Tampa. Yeah, he's alive, but he's
- 32:33killing me. He's killing me right now in
- 32:35fantasy. But when Bucky Irving comes back
- 32:38and they they obviously consider themselves a running team again,
- 32:42I think they could be really, really scary.
- 32:44Watch out for the Buccaneers. I'm telling you, watch out for
- 32:48this team. If they get their running game
- 32:49back and they can get Godwin and maybe Mike Evans back with
- 32:53Mbuka, I mean, forget it. I mean, this team is going to be
- 32:57fun to watch in the playoffs. Really, really fun.
- 32:59So really. Stop someone defensively, we'll
- 33:03talk about them in a minute, but we've got to whip around.
- 33:09Vote whip, whip, whip around. I'm not doing any freaking tag
- 33:15team crap all. Right.
- 33:19Welcome to the Whipper. Anyone go?
- 33:21Through it a little different this week.
- 33:22We're going to try to focus on a couple of key games.
- 33:25No faster through the games than nobody cares about.
- 33:27Rams 22, Seahawks 19. That was the marquee game of the
- 33:34week. If you watched it, you know that
- 33:36it was back and forth the whole time.
- 33:38You saw great play throughout the game, star players like
- 33:42Jackson Smith and Jigba. 9 catches, another over 100 yard
- 33:47game for him. But the story of the game was
- 33:49the Rams defense. The Rams defense picked off Sam
- 33:53Darnold. Not one, not 2, not 3, but four
- 33:58times. In fact, if you remember
- 33:59correctly, it was the same Rams defense that got him kicked out
- 34:04of Minnesota in the playoffs, humiliating him in much the same
- 34:09way. Well, it wasn't Sam's best game,
- 34:15but I will say this, Sam stayed in the pocket.
- 34:17He still was tough and he still played.
- 34:21It wasn't like Sam Donald was hurt.
- 34:24He kept his team in the game. He found a way to get his team
- 34:27back into the game. I, the Rams were just the Rams
- 34:30defense has played sensational this secondary, which I took
- 34:33shots at last week and I was unsure about this secondary.
- 34:36Well, I was wrong about that. They showed up and they showed
- 34:41up in a big way. And, and I'll tell you this,
- 34:43Matthew Stafford, everybody keeps talking about, hey, you
- 34:46know what, what May is doing, he should be the MVP.
- 34:50May has had the easiest schedule.
- 34:52Matthew Stafford right now this they could argue that these were
- 34:55the 2 best teams really going into this week in all of the NFL
- 35:00and they went head to head. Matthew Stafford say whatever
- 35:03you want, deserves a little bit more credit than than than
- 35:06people have given him. I, I think Matthew Stafford
- 35:09didn't have his best game, but when he needed to make plays, he
- 35:11made the plays and you know, 89.9 quarterback rating.
- 35:16I know we only threw 130 yards, 130 yards in the game, but he
- 35:21had two touchdowns, no interceptions, no mistakes, and
- 35:24he got everybody involved in the game and they can run the ball
- 35:27and this offensive line a lot better than I thought they were
- 35:31going to be this year. I I mean, the Rams are the full
- 35:34package. The Rams could absolutely win
- 35:36the Super Bowl this year. Yeah, you're mentioning the
- 35:38secondary. I think if the secondary could
- 35:39play at this kind of level, obviously some of them were
- 35:41self-inflicted turnovers with Darnell, but two guys coming
- 35:44from Washington and Cameron Crowe was a safety with the Ron
- 35:47Rivera team and Emmanuel Forbes. Who Jeff Really like in the
- 35:49first round pick two years ago that flopped over there in
- 35:51Washington. Playing very well in that game.
- 35:53We know that front 7 is very good and their offensive line
- 35:55too deserves a lot of credit too.
- 35:57Very underrated. And the defense hold their own.
- 35:59Seattle's defense held their own in the red zone.
- 36:01Just wasn't enough to survive the turnovers.
- 36:04Yeah. I mean, I think the story of the
- 36:05game was turnovers. I mean, take advantage of that.
- 36:08And you know, obviously it's like sometimes the Strada breaks
- 36:12the camel's back because when you can't get over those
- 36:13turnovers and, you know, 1 possession and there you go.
- 36:16And he obviously came back to bite him in the butt.
- 36:19So yeah, great game though. Absolutely.
- 36:21I think we'll see those two teams square off one more time.
- 36:27Let's get to New York football. We don't have to spend a lot of
- 36:29time here, but we will do New York together, I think always
- 36:33the rest of the season. The Patriots beat The Jets on
- 36:35Thursday Night Football 27 to 14.
- 36:38Justin Fields, you ain't going to see him no more.
- 36:40They benched him for next week. Tyrod Taylor will be starting
- 36:43116 yards, a touchdown, 67 on the ground, another touchdown.
- 36:47He did have a fumble loss in the game, just not getting it done
- 36:50in the air. Garrett Wilson's been on the IR.
- 36:53John Metchi, the third, caught a touchdown for The Jets.
- 36:56I'm glad he made it back from his cancer, but I don't think
- 36:59you want him as your #1 receiver.
- 37:01Arrow is The Jets for the Patriots.
- 37:04Drake may again, very accurate, 2534, two, 81 and a touchdown.
- 37:09But the story was Ohio State rookie running back Trayvon
- 37:12Henderson. 3 touchdowns, second straight multiple touchdown
- 37:15game. Harold, when you face me in
- 37:17fantasy, I didn't have Trayvon yet.
- 37:20Now I do. Please.
- 37:21And and, and, and again, the only reason why he's getting all
- 37:24those touches is because Stevenson is out right now.
- 37:27But listen, Henderson, Henderson's been good.
- 37:30I'm not, I'm not taking her away from him, but I don't think that
- 37:35the Patriots are as good as everybody sees their record to
- 37:38be, OK. They've beaten nobody.
- 37:41They've beaten teams the The Jets take.
- 37:43They beat the Buccaneers without a running game.
- 37:45They've beaten nobody that you'll play what everybody's
- 37:48whatever's on your schedule. So you want to say that Drake
- 37:51May right now is the MVP of the league and his schedule is even
- 37:54easier. So who's who's to say he doesn't
- 37:57win the MVP? But you have to look at the
- 38:00schedule and the way the schedule is set up for him.
- 38:03That's why they are where they are.
- 38:05I am not going to argue that the AFC East is horrible.
- 38:08Besides the Buffalo Bills, the Miami Dolphins, even though they
- 38:11they pulled off that debacle. I I mean the, the Miami Dolphins
- 38:16stink, The Jets stink. I mean, there's nothing
- 38:19impressive about the AFC East. So I'm not surprised.
- 38:22And they, and yes, by the way, I got AI got a story up right now
- 38:27on the worldwide sports radio network on, on the Tyrod Taylor
- 38:30situation. So go check it out.
- 38:32I did it today. It's definitely funny.
- 38:34Speedy was reading it. It's it's definitely one of my
- 38:37quicker ones, but it's definitely has a little bit of a
- 38:41touch of my personality on the Justin Fields.
- 38:45I thought Justin Fields was going to be a lot better than he
- 38:47is. I I mean, there's nothing more
- 38:48to say about The Jets. The Jets stink.
- 38:51That's it. Yeah, I was going to say that
- 38:52the Patriots are still right now finding their groove in some
- 38:55areas. Defense and offensive line
- 38:57definitely a question mark still in some areas, but they have
- 39:00better than expected receivers. And a lot of that to do with
- 39:03Drake Mail may elevating his game, their games a little bit.
- 39:05Tight ends play is strong too. And now we'll see if their lack
- 39:08of aggressiveness, the trade deadline could hurt them.
- 39:10But right now, they're on the top as far as Buffalo's defense
- 39:12keeps struggling. Remember, you have to play the
- 39:15best teams in the playoffs. Remember that you're you're not
- 39:18going against this garbage, that you're playing Carolina and
- 39:21Jacksonville or any of the garbage that you've seen them
- 39:24play. Wait until they match up against
- 39:27elite teams. Then we can talk about how great
- 39:30Drake Mays been. OK, please, by the way, Mikey,
- 39:34see kiss my ass. Yeah, but I was just waiting for
- 39:41for a Mikey C comment at some point.
- 39:43Usually comes in there somewhere.
- 39:45But yeah, Drake Mays, Drake May. I mean, it's is his stock keeps
- 39:48going up. Yeah, your jets are a struggle
- 39:51fest. I mean, that's just kind of the
- 39:53way it is. But you're being nice.
- 39:55Giants. I think Cam Scataboo is more
- 39:57busy now that he's hurt than than when he was actually
- 40:00playing football. So he's enjoying his downtime
- 40:04because they're not going to win any games, so he might as well
- 40:06go enjoy himself and not have to watch terrible football.
- 40:08So. That's the the New York football
- 40:11scene in a nutshell. I will say this about the
- 40:13Giants, Jameis Winston, I mean, I could see I love him.
- 40:18I I could see why Kafka wanted him to start over Russell
- 40:22Wilson. I just think the team kind of
- 40:25feels a little bit more comfortable in him standing in,
- 40:28you know, standing behind the line of scrimmage and calling
- 40:30the plays. I I could see why nobody and and
- 40:34we've had many players on the show, not like Russell Wilson
- 40:37and why Kafka decided to go with Winston over Wilson.
- 40:41Wilson is crying or he he was upset.
- 40:44Winston I I mean, just just something is something about his
- 40:48swagger that makes you think that the crab legs are the worst
- 40:53thing we've heard about him and the best thing we've heard about
- 40:56him is staying away from Ubers. That's all I'm going to say
- 40:59about that. Yeah, they seem to rally about
- 41:00him in a different way and I think the Giants quality of play
- 41:03in the beginning of the game was very good.
- 41:05Green base, quality plays concerning.
- 41:06They really won this game on a bunch of spectacular catches and
- 41:10the Giants missing some tackles. Jordan Love looks horrible and.
- 41:13The offensive line looks really bad, too.
- 41:15Now Josh Jacobs has hurt. The Packers are in a world with
- 41:17trouble because the Giants, again.
- 41:18They didn't play their best either, but the quality of play
- 41:21might have been a little better. I got news for you.
- 41:23Christian Watson just came back for them.
- 41:25He's better at football than anyone the Giants had in the
- 41:27secondary and just made them look like like children going up
- 41:31for catches in the end zone against them.
- 41:33He's really good. He's their red zone threat.
- 41:36If they can get read back, they'll be fine.
- 41:38But they look, I don't think this is a perfect team.
- 41:42Here's the problem. The Giants should have tied that
- 41:45game. And the only thing I want to
- 41:47say, and that really is the only thing I'm going to talk about in
- 41:49this with Brown, Jalen Hyatt should have been left at the bus
- 41:54stop. He shouldn't be out back in the
- 41:55locker room. They should have threw his ass
- 41:57out of town. Unbelievable.
- 42:00Hey, that play, I call that play in my school.
- 42:03It's the basically, it's a smash route.
- 42:06Hayden Manning threw it to Marvin Harrison a million
- 42:07freaking times. One guy goes low, the other guy
- 42:10runs a corner behind him. He stopped his corner route when
- 42:14Jameis was throwing it. Now, if he doesn't catch the
- 42:16ball, it's fine. But he just stopped and made the
- 42:19easiest interception to lose the game.
- 42:21That was the most losing play I've ever seen a Giants receiver
- 42:25do. I don't understand why he's
- 42:27still on the team and I'm done. I can't.
- 42:30There's nothing else I could say about it.
- 42:31I don't get why he's still on the team.
- 42:34Let's talk about those blowouts we don't care about.
- 42:36We got the Steelers. I'm just going to tell you a
- 42:38couple of headlines from this game.
- 42:40Jamar Chase and Jalen Ramsey got into it.
- 42:43Jamar Chase got suspended a game they caught him spitting on.
- 42:47And denying it. And denying it.
- 42:50Like what? How do you deny anything
- 42:53nowadays with cameras everywhere?
- 42:56It's like that Shaggy song. It wasn't me.
- 42:59Dude I got caught so many times picking my nose it was
- 43:01unbelievable. The Jaguars embarrass the
- 43:05Chargers. I think it might have been Wes
- 43:08who said that cross country flight was going to be bad.
- 43:11He was right, and the Cardinals weren't anywhere close to the
- 43:1449ers. But because it wasn't close,
- 43:16Jacoby Brissett broke all sorts of passing records trying to
- 43:19catch up against some prevent defenses.
- 43:22Anything guys want to talk about these games?
- 43:24No, I I should have. I should have started Brock
- 43:26Purdy. I should have started Michael
- 43:28Wilson and the Beef. Sleep trade them to me.
- 43:30IBC won't trade me Brock Purdy for the record.
- 43:33Sort of started Michael Wilson and the Bees.
- 43:35Like I added him in case Devante Adams didn't play and he gets 35
- 43:38points or. Mikey C will never treat any
- 43:40good players away. He gives you these weird trades
- 43:44and he says, I'll trade you this guy for two of your guys.
- 43:46And I'm looking at him like, no, I won't do that.
- 43:49Mikey always tries to pull a fast one on everybody.
- 43:53Nobody's stupid enough to fall for it, except there's a couple
- 43:56of people that have fallen for his stupidity.
- 43:57But I, I would, he would never come to me and try to pull one
- 44:01of those things off of me. I tell him to go, go.
- 44:03You know what I would tell you? I, you know what?
- 44:05I tell him in personal, personal old fashion in, in many
- 44:10different ways of words. So he won't come to me and ask
- 44:13me to do something stupid like that.
- 44:14How about we do some good games, the Bills and the Bucks.
- 44:17You've mentioned it before, the Bills 44, Bucks 32 again, no
- 44:23running game for the Bucks except their Syracuse player.
- 44:26Sean Tucker went wild for them. I they're going to get him more
- 44:30involved in the offense. Let me pull up the exact stats
- 44:34for you. For some reason, I can't find
- 44:36it. Here it is.
- 44:36He had 106 yards and two touchdowns.
- 44:39Josh Allen was the story of this.
- 44:41Game, it always came. Off slow, two interceptions
- 44:44early in the game, not much scoring right off the bat.
- 44:47It's 7 to 3 Buffalo at the end of the first.
- 44:50All of a sudden 31 points get scored in the second quarter.
- 44:53It's out of control. Josh Allen goes into crazy.
- 44:57Josh Allen mode. 3 touchdowns passing, 3 touchdowns rushing,
- 45:0440 yards on the ground, 317 through the air.
- 45:07It didn't matter who he was throwing to, he just found ways
- 45:11to make plays and he made more plays than they were able to
- 45:14make on the other side of the field.
- 45:15Just it's just kind of hard to even say what's going to take to
- 45:20stop him other than his own defense.
- 45:23Didn't Josh Allen tie the rushing record for quarterbacks,
- 45:25too? I think it was rushing
- 45:27touchdowns. So he's our first.
- 45:29Quarterback like that? He's the only quarterback he's
- 45:31done twice now. 3 passing and three rushing in a game.
- 45:34Right. And in the other game, it was a
- 45:36defensive struggle, the Eagles and the Lions.
- 45:39Obviously that was the Sunday night game, very controversial
- 45:43call at the end of that game preventing the Lions to making a
- 45:47comeback, furious chance. They got Gibbs on a pass into
- 45:51the end zone to make it a one score game.
- 45:54A bad, bad pass interference call that Chris Collinsworth,
- 45:57Ripley Park I have on the spot cost them a chance to tie it up
- 46:02everyone. We all know what Josh Allen is
- 46:05and and what he stands for for the Bills.
- 46:07And I'm going to tell you this right now, if the Bills can get
- 46:10things together going into the playoffs, I think the Bills are
- 46:14the team to beat in the AFCI. Don't care how good Indianapolis
- 46:18is. I don't care how good the
- 46:20Broncos look this weekend against Kansas City, beating
- 46:23them in overtime. I don't want to hear it.
- 46:25What I thought that stood out to me is what Josh Allen is to his
- 46:31team. You want to talk about
- 46:32championship? We talked about Aaron Judge and
- 46:34how important Aaron Judges to the Yankees.
- 46:36Josh Allen is as important to the Bills.
- 46:39I think he's incredible. I think he's the the, the, the
- 46:43guy that you want leading your team.
- 46:45He's the leader and and he can run, he could throw.
- 46:48He's a full back playing at the quarterback position.
- 46:51That's what he is. He runs people over.
- 46:54It's incredible to watch. And he looks like he's a
- 46:56different player this year. He might not have the numbers to
- 46:59be the MVP, but he looks more happier.
- 47:02He looks like he's got something to play for.
- 47:05I'm telling you, watch out for the Bills this year.
- 47:07They get into the playoffs and they're in position as a one of
- 47:10the lead wild card teams because they're not going to win that
- 47:12division the way the Patriots have everything set up.
- 47:14But I'm telling you, this might be the year to watch the Bills
- 47:17go to the Super Bowl and and win a Super Bowl.
- 47:19As far as the Bucks are concerned, they got to get Bucky
- 47:23Irvin back. If they get him back, I think
- 47:24they'll be fine. They'll win the division.
- 47:26They're the best team in that division.
- 47:27The Eagles, Lions, I told you guys, Eagles might not be that
- 47:33prolific offensive team this year like they were last year
- 47:36where they can do everything. But this defense is beastly.
- 47:42And when they play at the top of their game, I'm going to tell
- 47:45you this right now, I don't think there's anybody that can
- 47:48beat them. Their secondary is not even 100%
- 47:51yet. I'm telling you they're going to
- 47:55be scary in the playoffs. I don't think you want to go to
- 47:57Philadelphia in the cold against these big banging, you know,
- 48:03delicious, dominant green men. That's all I'm going to say.
- 48:09Yeah, it'll be. It's delicious.
- 48:10It'll be interesting to say like.
- 48:12I'm not going to eat them, but they're delicious.
- 48:14Yeah, delicious. Speedy.
- 48:17Say it delicious. There you go, it'll be.
- 48:19Interesting to see the versatility the secondary.
- 48:21I talked about the trade deadline moves with how they can
- 48:23move Cooper de Jean around. I look delicious.
- 48:25And you've seen him be also used as an outside corner.
- 48:28I look delicious because they have the now the versatility
- 48:30with the safeties and queen John Mitchell and unbelievable game
- 48:32held St. Brown in 0 catches when he was
- 48:34targeted to. That's the next level of this
- 48:36Eagles defense that even at the point last year you didn't see
- 48:39with them, the offensive line lost Lane Johnson.
- 48:41We'll see how they can bounce back with that, but still able
- 48:43to run the ball effectively enough.
- 48:45And the Lions, they ran the ball OK.
- 48:47They passed the ball with the running backs OK.
- 48:48They were shut down everywhere else, but give their defense
- 48:52credit, they held their own. Delicious.
- 48:54Say, say, Jabba. Delicious.
- 48:58No, I did. First of all, I'm not referring
- 49:00to anything as delicious unless I'm talking about food.
- 49:06Eagles D was crazy. Delicious.
- 49:10No, it definitely wasn't delicious.
- 49:12Yeah, I mean, it's it's crazy too.
- 49:14Scoop just brought it up too. And I was, I was thinking about
- 49:16this, how good the Bills have been and how good Josh Allen and
- 49:19they've never been to a Super Bowl.
- 49:23It's it's bound to happen at some time.
- 49:24He's too good to to not get there at some point.
- 49:27But yeah, I I think it's going to be tough playing going into
- 49:31the cold. They love it.
- 49:33It it's going to be interesting to see how this end of the year
- 49:36plays out in in the matchups that we're going to have going
- 49:39into the playoffs. All right.
- 49:40We got another I wanted to go through quickly.
- 49:43I call this one close crap. This is the Dolphins beating the
- 49:47Commanders 16 to 13 in overtime. Same score not in overtime
- 49:51between the Texans and Titans. And the Panthers beat the
- 49:54Falcons 30 to 27 in overtime. The real news out of that one,
- 49:58Michael Pennix looks like he's out for the season with a knee
- 50:01injury. Looks like Kirk Cousins will be
- 50:04getting to play after all over there.
- 50:07Texans again, Offense not looking great and against a
- 50:10lowly team and Mike McDaniel keeps winning and holding on to
- 50:14his job in Miami. Do you guys want to talk about
- 50:19these three? Not really, honestly.
- 50:21I like Mike McDaniel, so I I want him to do well, Minnie
- 50:25Mouse, Mighty Mouse, whatever you want to call him.
- 50:28Mickey Mouse, I, I want to see him successful as far as Kirk
- 50:31Cousins is concerned. Really this just only sports the
- 50:34opportunity for him to have the rest of the season to prove
- 50:38himself so he can get another job in the offseason.
- 50:41Because I, I do believe there's a team here in New York that's
- 50:44going to be looking for a veteran quarterback and that's
- 50:46my Jets. And I could see Kirk Cousins
- 50:49being that guy. That's all I'm going to say
- 50:50about. That yeah, I would say they also
- 50:51he also gives a chance to because the Falcons might have
- 50:54to eat some of the money no matter if they trade him or not
- 50:56because how how bad panics his injury could be definitely
- 50:58concerning long term, but the Falcons are done this season and
- 51:00so are the Texans. This one doesn't prove anything
- 51:02for them either. Yeah, these are all definitely
- 51:06not much to talk about. Their their NFL teams with some
- 51:09NFL players that are decently worth watching, but only if you
- 51:13got nothing else to do and you need to take a quick nap.
- 51:16They're not delicious. They're not delicious.
- 51:19No, no. We got 2 good ones here.
- 51:21The Broncos beat the Chiefs 22 to 19 on the last second.
- 51:25Field can't believe that, by the way.
- 51:27Kind of using the Chiefs old medicine against them.
- 51:30And the Bears outlasted the Vikings 19 to 17.
- 51:36Hold on, hold on. Say it right?
- 51:381st place bears say that. OK, first place bears.
- 51:42There you go. There you go.
- 51:44Seven and three, seven and three Bears, four and six Vikings.
- 51:47That's right. Caleb Williams, 50% passing, 193
- 51:50yards. Not great statistics.
- 51:52This game was real fighted out in the trenches.
- 51:55It was a real defensive battle. I thought Caleb kind of
- 51:59acquitted himself OK against the best defensive coordinator in
- 52:03the league. JJ McCarthy, on the other hand,
- 52:06maybe not. JJ has been struggling this
- 52:09year. A couple of interceptions for
- 52:10McCarthy. Again, it was close.
- 52:14There was a big interception in the end zone by a guy named
- 52:18Neshawn Wright. He was someone I'm going to
- 52:20bring up in the sportsman a little bit.
- 52:24And the other game, the Broncos and Chiefs, again, like we said,
- 52:28it came down to that final field goal.
- 52:30Kelsey had 91 yards and a touchdown.
- 52:33It really wasn't a statistic game, it was just back and
- 52:35forth. Last one with the ball had it
- 52:38good. Good clock management, 2 good
- 52:40teams with good coaching and team.
- 52:43Bad ball, last one. If they meet in the playoffs, I
- 52:46don't know. I don't know, but they beat
- 52:50them. So that says a lot.
- 52:51And it was one of those games that kind of just I, I know it
- 52:55was 22 to 19, nothing fun to watch.
- 52:58I mean, it was back and forth. And, and I'm going to tell you
- 53:00this, Kansas City's defense did just look old.
- 53:03They just look old. That's all I'm going to say
- 53:06about that. As far as the Bears are
- 53:07concerned, when you know you're a good team, you find a way to
- 53:11win games that you know they're ugly.
- 53:14It's an ugly game. That was an ugly game.
- 53:18And Caleb Williams didn't have one of his best days.
- 53:22They just did enough to win the game.
- 53:23And that says a lot about the Bears.
- 53:25And I think the Bears are going to win the division.
- 53:27I I, I think the Bears have a good chance to win 11 games this
- 53:30year. And I watch out.
- 53:32I'm I'm just saying watch out for the bears.
- 53:35Yeah, these are the games they were losing last year because
- 53:37they were point differential wise good that we knew they had
- 53:40talent. They had some injuries, but they
- 53:42this is a team that is much better coach now, much better
- 53:45down the stretch. Now, some of the games are ugly,
- 53:47like you're saying, Errol, they struggle with the Giants, they
- 53:48struggle with the Saints. Like it's not like they're a
- 53:51world beating team right now, but they're seven and three.
- 53:53Those are the games they would have lost last year.
- 53:54The Vikings, they're just trying to find their own right now.
- 53:57McCarthy does not look great. The Broncos, though, they're the
- 53:59best fourth quarter team in the NFL this year, often defensively
- 54:01speaking, and they have the best defense in the NFL.
- 54:04And they gave you, like you said, Fish, they gave the Chiefs
- 54:06their own medicine because this is what they were doing last
- 54:08year. And now they finally have the
- 54:09adversity to do it. And Sean Payton and Bonexes are
- 54:12a lot of credit for that. Interesting.
- 54:13With the Broncos fans, I'm like, I don't, I'm not going to watch
- 54:16until the second-half, probably the fourth quarter down because
- 54:19that's really all that happens. But yeah, I thought it was a
- 54:21little eerie, though. They showed the highlights of
- 54:23how the Chiefs, you know, blocked the kick and I'm like,
- 54:25oh, it's going to turn. But yeah, no, it's the Broncos
- 54:31are doing it. It's it's not pretty sometimes,
- 54:34but they they make it interesting and make it fun and
- 54:37Bears and Vikings. It's JJ McCarthy.
- 54:40He he's bipolar as a quarterback.
- 54:43I get it's only a sixth game so that I mean that is what it is,
- 54:46but it's freaking there's sometimes he looks like he knows
- 54:49what doing other times I'm like, dude, what team are you throwing
- 54:52it to like? What do we go check?
- 54:54Your lug nuts. So I saw something on JJ
- 54:56McCarthy before we finish this going to the he's like
- 54:59Zoolander, he can't go left. Every time he tries to throw
- 55:03left, like his numbers drop by like 15% and these feet look all
- 55:07screwed up. Some guys have trouble doing
- 55:09that, but usually not at the NFL level.
- 55:12Guys, that has been yet another whip around.
- 55:15Thank you to all the fans that TuneIn to us on Apple and
- 55:19Spotify, on the video end, on the audio end, on the YouTube

- 55:44Mendoza One. And my favorite one was the the
- 55:47New York sports owners. Check that one out.
- 55:49I did this weekend. I was trying to figure out how
- 55:52could I attack what's going on in New York sports, and I said,
- 55:55you know what, I'm going to put an article together on the
- 55:59ownership of sports. Yep.
- 56:01And one more to top it off, the great Nico Harrison as well.
- 56:03And Nico Harrison that I think everybody will enjoy.
- 56:07Definitely enjoy that one. You can also.
- 56:09Check out my venting Yes, Brian Dabel and Joe Shane which I.
- 56:14I'm going to write an article about bold ex pitchers and don't
- 56:20be surprised if Jabba's name is being thrown out there and the
- 56:25future of this article. So be aware of my complications
- 56:30of bold pitchers that walk away from the sport of baseball.
- 56:33So yeah, so Java might be the lead guy on this story, so I
- 56:38might attack my fellow Co host on this show.
- 56:42Anyways, yeah, that's it for the show.
- 56:45Who do we have on Wednesdays? Mary, thanks to Nathan for
- 56:47getting this guy. Former Rockies, Yankees, Pirates
- 56:49and Astros pitcher and now the head coach of the Trenton
- 56:51Thunder, Sean Chacon, will be joining us.
- 56:54Oh, Jabba's favorite. That's a good one.
- 56:56That's a that's a slam dunk. Hands free.
- 56:59You know, Jabba, you're you're ready to go.
- 57:01You're ready to go and eat some food.
- 57:02I know you're probably ready to do something.
- 57:05It looks like he's about to meditate.
- 57:07He looks like he's about to RIP my head off my body.
- 57:11It looks frozen. I don't know.
- 57:12No. He's not frozen.
- 57:14You sure? Yeah.
- 57:15It looks a little frozen to me. He's sitting.
- 57:18I see him breathing, so I guess he's not.
- 57:20Anyways, that's it for a show. Ladies and gentlemen, We'll see
- 57:24you on Wednesday. Good night, it.
- 57:26It is the worldwide sports radio network, Radio network.
