- 0:12Speaker 1: Welcome to the New York Sports Weekly Show with your
- 0:15Speaker 1: boy NIC. I got super producer extraordinaire Jason Baum on
- 0:18Speaker 1: the ones and twos as always. And we have an
- 0:22Speaker 1: extra special guest returning to the show, which means we
- 0:26Speaker 1: didn't scare him off last time. Nick's Twitter heavy hitter.
- 0:30Speaker 1: the one and only Nickinator. What's going on, family? How
- 0:33Speaker 1: are you?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Thank you for having me again.
- 0:36Speaker 1: And that crowd noise that you hear right there is
- 0:38Speaker 1: actual audio from Madison Square Garden, a place that you
- 0:42Speaker 1: attended last night. You were in the building for the
- 0:45Speaker 1: ring ceremony. Talk to me, man. What were the vibes like?
- 0:49Speaker 1: What was the overall feeling like? I went in personally
- 0:52Speaker 1: a little bit nervous for the game, and therefore I
- 0:55Speaker 1: was like, I hope I get to really enjoy this
- 0:57Speaker 1: ring ceremony, watching at home. At one point, I might
- 1:00Speaker 1: have had a bit of a salty discharge out of
- 1:02Speaker 1: one of my eyes. I'm not going to say I cried,
- 1:05Speaker 1: but there was something. But you were actually in the building, man,
- 1:08Speaker 1: so talk to me, man. Talk to me, Nickinator. How
- 1:10Speaker 1: was it?
- 1:11Speaker 2: I mean, there's so many things to touch on. Whenever
- 1:16Speaker 2: I go to the Garden, I park right where I park,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and the crowd, the traffic, everything, they had closed off streets,
- 1:24Speaker 2: the flood of people in the arena, outside of the arena.
- 1:29Speaker 2: A little more than usual. Like that's the first layer
- 1:31Speaker 2: when you're going in there. And I was coming from work.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I had my wife with me because it was banner
- 1:35Speaker 2: night and it wasn't nobody that was going to go
- 1:37Speaker 2: with me but my wife. So I had my wife
- 1:39Speaker 2: with me and she was like, wow, this is crazy.
- 1:41Speaker 2: So outside was just madness. There were people rapping. There
- 1:45Speaker 2: were people selling T-shirts, of course, selling the bootleg tees
- 1:48Speaker 2: because you got to sell the bootleg tees because it's
- 1:49Speaker 2: New York City.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I got got last time I was there. I got
- 1:52Speaker 1: got a couple of times, but anyway, go ahead.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's a normal thing. You can't even say you got
- 1:56Speaker 2: got anymore. Cause honestly it's regular business at that point.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's not even like you got got, it's just what happens. But, um,
- 2:01Speaker 2: we get inside, uh, and there was just a glee,
- 2:06Speaker 2: you know, we were talking before we came on a
- 2:08Speaker 2: little bit and I was saying this to, uh, Jason
- 2:11Speaker 2: that there was, there's two, there were two levels of glee, right?
- 2:14Speaker 2: So the staff and the employees, they were just as
- 2:18Speaker 2: happy to see the fans. as the fans were to
- 2:21Speaker 2: be there. So like, smiles are beaming, people are welcoming
- 2:25Speaker 2: you in. That was awesome. In the merchandise, the first
- 2:33Speaker 2: store you walk in, it was like looting with a
- 2:36Speaker 2: credit card. People were snatching things and it was madness.
- 2:41Speaker 2: They had lines outside of the store. And then as
- 2:44Speaker 2: you're getting closer to the ring ceremony, like people kind
- 2:47Speaker 2: of scurrying to get to their seats. But I was
- 2:50Speaker 2: going to tell you, they were putting so much of
- 2:53Speaker 2: it together on the spot because, again, I didn't see
- 2:58Speaker 2: the broadcast. And I said this to you guys before
- 3:00Speaker 2: we hopped on. I haven't seen what they aired. I
- 3:03Speaker 2: saw it from sitting in my seat. And there were
- 3:06Speaker 2: so many moving parts. They were rushing in with these
- 3:09Speaker 2: cameras and these lightings. And then they pulled out the
- 3:12Speaker 2: trophy in this huge stage. It was just so much
- 3:14Speaker 2: going on. I think the first thing that got me
- 3:18Speaker 2: a little emotional, I didn't cry.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I was there with my wife.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I didn't cry. I was looking at Larry. Larry's the
- 3:26Speaker 2: guy that sits at the end of my row. Larry's
- 3:29Speaker 2: a seasoned ticket holder since like 1979. And I'm looking
- 3:32Speaker 2: at him and we made eye contact and I see
- 3:36Speaker 2: the guy in front of me.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I saw my guy, Jeff. And it was that moment
- 3:40Speaker 2: where like, we all knew why we were there. Like
- 3:42Speaker 2: we all knew what was about to happen. And then
- 3:44Speaker 2: we started talking about you know, our lives and everything
- 3:46Speaker 2: else as Nick fans, this was the moment that we've
- 3:49Speaker 2: always wanted to be a part of. This is, this
- 3:51Speaker 2: was our moment. So there was just this, this connection
- 3:54Speaker 2: and energy in the building. It's just kind of hard
- 3:55Speaker 2: to describe. It was awesome. But, um, when, when they,
- 4:00Speaker 2: when they introduced the original players, what's up, mommy? Okay.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Want to say goodnight?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Sorry, fellas.
- 4:06Speaker 2: It's bedtime for.
- 4:07Speaker 4: My little one.
- 4:10Speaker 1: No, we love the kids over here, man.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Okay. All right, mama. Have a good night.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Sorry about that, fellas.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 4:15Speaker 1: You're good.
- 4:16Speaker 2: So where was I? So for me, I'm going to
- 4:21Speaker 2: say two years ago, maybe even three years ago at
- 4:22Speaker 2: this point, I was fortunate enough, and I think I
- 4:25Speaker 2: might have said this last time I was on the show,
- 4:26Speaker 2: I was fortunate enough to attend an event with Clyde Frazier,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and they were celebrating the last team that won a championship.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And that night was nice. You heard some of the stories.
- 4:35Speaker 2: The most important thing that they communicated that night was synergy,
- 4:37Speaker 2: how the team had synergy, and they were on the
- 4:39Speaker 2: same page, and they paid selflessly, and it made me
- 4:41Speaker 2: think about this team. how this team possessed that, how
- 4:44Speaker 2: they played selflessly during that run. So seeing them there
- 4:48Speaker 2: for me, nobody knew how they were going to open
- 4:51Speaker 2: it up, right? Nobody knew what the program was or
- 4:53Speaker 2: what the plan was. And I thought that was such
- 4:56Speaker 2: a cool thing because, like I said, when I went
- 4:57Speaker 2: to that event and I met Clyde and I met
- 4:59Speaker 2: a few of the older players that had been part
- 5:01Speaker 2: of that last championship, to see them honor them like that, right,
- 5:05Speaker 2: like to bring it full circle, like the last time
- 5:07Speaker 2: we won to now this most recent championship, that was
- 5:10Speaker 2: kind of special for me. That was awesome. So, yeah,
- 5:14Speaker 2: they went through that introduction and the players came out,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you know, and the players came out and having a
- 5:18Speaker 2: moment and enjoying it. And it's just all the pomp
- 5:21Speaker 2: and circumstance of a gala or a huge event. Like,
- 5:26Speaker 2: it's funny because at one point I was considering wearing
- 5:27Speaker 2: a tuxedo, but I was like, I don't want to
- 5:29Speaker 2: overdo it. Like, I don't want to get crazy with it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: But it's just it was all the pomp and circumstance
- 5:34Speaker 2: that you could.
- 5:36Speaker 1: You said you thought about wearing a tux?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I had a gala the week before,
- 5:42Speaker 2: and I picked up a little velvet jacket, tux pants.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I wasn't going to wear the tux pants, but I
- 5:46Speaker 2: have a blue, royal blue bow tie with the corsage
- 5:49Speaker 2: and the whole bit. I was like, nah, you know what?
- 5:52Speaker 2: I'm doing a little too much. I don't want to
- 5:53Speaker 2: draw that much attention.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But it was awesome, man.
- 5:56Speaker 4: It was awesome.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Come on, man. Come on, man. You can't be in
- 5:58Speaker 1: the garden in a tux, bro. I see what you're
- 6:01Speaker 1: trying to do there.
- 6:02Speaker 2: In my row, just so you notice, in my row,
- 6:04Speaker 2: There's a gentleman that goes by the name of Fedora, man.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I don't want to say his real name. He's a
- 6:08Speaker 2: season ticket holder longer than I was. He shows up
- 6:11Speaker 2: every opening day. He's got a sports jacket, custom made.
- 6:15Speaker 2: It's like some kind of shiny, silky material. And he's
- 6:18Speaker 2: got his bright orange fedora with the blue trim underneath. So, bro,
- 6:23Speaker 2: I say it because I know there are people that
- 6:25Speaker 2: get really, like they go all out, man. Anthony MSG
- 6:28Speaker 2: was there. Anthony was wearing a custom made sports coat.
- 6:31Speaker 2: with the championship 2026 inside embroidered. People go all out, man.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I don't know if they'll show it on the camera,
- 6:38Speaker 2: but people will definitely go all out.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You know, it's funny because when I was growing up
- 6:42Speaker 1: and my dad had, you know, the same seats. Well,
- 6:44Speaker 1: he didn't have the same seats. He had seats for
- 6:47Speaker 1: 15 years. There was one time that he was able
- 6:49Speaker 1: to move up. And this is, you know, early 90s,
- 6:51Speaker 1: mid 90s through the early 2000s. And I remember him
- 6:54Speaker 1: to be able to move up. I think it was
- 6:55Speaker 1: 12 rows. was such a big deal to him. And
- 6:58Speaker 1: the ones that he got before that, it was because
- 7:00Speaker 1: somebody he knew that worked, like their dad died or
- 7:03Speaker 1: some shit. You know what I mean? It was impossible
- 7:05Speaker 1: back then. And so he had his people... That we were,
- 7:09Speaker 1: the gardens changed a lot since then, but we were
- 7:12Speaker 1: right on the level where you have media all down there.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Then you have, you know, up in the, you know,
- 7:16Speaker 1: in the 200s, there's another row where there's media again.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So we were the road directly in front of that
- 7:21Speaker 1: media row. And, you know, the people that he like
- 7:24Speaker 1: dealt with and that he was cool with and the
- 7:26Speaker 1: people that right next to him where, you know, hey.
- 7:29Speaker 1: They would switch it up and be like, so one
- 7:30Speaker 1: time we can bring four, one time you can bring four.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I had so many, so many great, you know,
- 7:35Speaker 1: just memories. Probably the best one being, let's see if
- 7:38Speaker 1: you remember this game. This has to be like 98, 99,
- 7:43Speaker 1: somewhere around there. My son reminded me about this today
- 7:47Speaker 1: because we're watching the Minnesota versus Heat game. And Tim
- 7:52Speaker 1: Hardaway Jr., who he knows from being a Knick, He's like, Oh,
- 7:55Speaker 1: he's back on his dad's team. And I was like,
- 7:57Speaker 1: how do you know about Tim Hardaway? My son sometimes
- 7:59Speaker 1: will come up with, he's 10 years old. How do
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know about Tim Hardaway senior? I'm like, and he's like, Oh,
- 8:03Speaker 1: well you told me a story. You said at the best,
- 8:05Speaker 1: you know, Nick playoff game you ever went to was him.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It was a, we were playing against the heat ball,
- 8:11Speaker 1: got kicked out to Tim Hardaway. He's taken a last second,
- 8:14Speaker 1: three that would win the game. Patrick comes off of morning,
- 8:17Speaker 1: comes out there, blocks the three game over buzzer ends. Fantastic.
- 8:20Speaker 1: As a kid, I'd never experienced like the, if you've
- 8:24Speaker 1: never been to the garden for a playoff game in
- 8:26Speaker 1: between the third and the fourth quarter in that like
- 8:28Speaker 1: dead time where there's the garden gets absolutely bananas, especially
- 8:32Speaker 1: if it's anywhere close to, and back then they used
- 8:34Speaker 1: to play this clip of John Starks and he would
- 8:36Speaker 1: come on and he'd be like, all right, everybody stand up,
- 8:38Speaker 1: get on your, get on your feet. Let's go. Let's go.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I haven't been to a Knicks playoff game in app
- 8:42Speaker 1: and way, way too long considering I live out West now,
- 8:45Speaker 1: but that's what it was back then. I can just
- 8:46Speaker 1: remember being like, yo, the game's not even on right now. And,
- 8:49Speaker 1: This is the type of atmosphere that we got in here.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It's like a teenager. And yeah, man, I'm very, very
- 8:54Speaker 1: envious of you for being able to be there last night.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And then while you were, you know, obviously enjoying the
- 9:01Speaker 1: vibes as we're leading up to the ceremony, when the
- 9:04Speaker 1: ceremony actually happens, I almost feel like sometimes when I'm
- 9:08Speaker 1: at moments like that where I'm so emotionally invested, I
- 9:11Speaker 1: look back on it afterwards and I'm like, that was
- 9:13Speaker 1: all such a blur. I didn't even really get to,
- 9:15Speaker 1: you know, like really take it all in. What, what,
- 9:17Speaker 1: what did you have a feeling like that? Or were
- 9:19Speaker 1: you able to really, you know, lock in and, you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: savor every moment?
- 9:22Speaker 2: No, no, I definitely had that feeling because I don't
- 9:25Speaker 2: want to say everything was a distraction, but when I
- 9:27Speaker 2: tell you there was so much going on, because to
- 9:29Speaker 2: your point about the John Starks in and the break
- 9:32Speaker 2: in between the third and fourth quarter, that still happens.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It's a little different. John still does come out in
- 9:37Speaker 2: some of the videos, uh, But there is still that
- 9:41Speaker 2: production that goes on. And where I sit is where
- 9:45Speaker 2: the players come out on that side. And then on
- 9:47Speaker 2: this side is where the dancers come out and the
- 9:50Speaker 2: Delta Lounge is there. So you see Stephen A. Smith
- 9:53Speaker 2: is walking through that tunnel. You see last time I
- 9:56Speaker 2: saw Coco, the the wife of uh donovan mitchell.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Iced tea oh oh that oh that one the other.
- 10:03Speaker 2: The new coco yeah so so in in that area
- 10:06Speaker 2: that i saw my boy jason that does some some
- 10:08Speaker 2: msg uh air he's i don't know he's a host
- 10:10Speaker 2: or something msg jason donahue no no no no uh
- 10:15Speaker 2: jason negron jason negron I know he runs their Instagram accounts,
- 10:19Speaker 2: and a lot of the events that are hosted at
- 10:20Speaker 2: the Garden, he emcees. So all that is there. So
- 10:24Speaker 2: that area has so much traffic, and then you have
- 10:27Speaker 2: the VIP sitting on the side, and you see Stephon
- 10:30Speaker 2: Marbury might be sitting there, or maybe sometimes Carmelo's sitting there.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So there's always a jazz chisholm was over there this time.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So there's always a buzz. There's just so much going on,
- 10:39Speaker 2: and you're distracted and this and that. I think about
- 10:43Speaker 2: it all the time. I didn't watch all of the intros,
- 10:45Speaker 2: or I didn't see Like, I didn't realize that Jalen
- 10:47Speaker 2: Brunson actually wore the black shirt as opposed to everybody
- 10:50Speaker 2: else wearing the white. And I'm looking for him, and
- 10:52Speaker 2: I got the camera, and I'm like, I can't even
- 10:54Speaker 2: see him. But I'm so caught up in everything else that, yeah,
- 10:56Speaker 2: there were moments that I was like, damn, I didn't
- 10:57Speaker 2: really catch how they handled that or how they handled this.
- 11:01Speaker 2: But it's just too much. It's so much going on
- 11:03Speaker 2: in that building at that moment that it's impossible to
- 11:04Speaker 2: really absorb it all.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Information overload for sure.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And then, so.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Like I said, I had a little bit of nervousness
- 11:13Speaker 1: just personally about how the game was going to go.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And obviously it did kind of play out that way.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Did you feel, because I know there's definitely been times
- 11:22Speaker 1: where once you're in the garden, as soon as things
- 11:26Speaker 1: start to go bad, which really they didn't start to
- 11:29Speaker 1: go bad in this game until the third quarter. The
- 11:30Speaker 1: third quarter was a disaster. We'll get into that in
- 11:32Speaker 1: a little bit more detail here in a second. But
- 11:34Speaker 1: I can remember times where I've been in the garden.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Sometimes just watching the game, you can feel it on
- 11:40Speaker 1: the TV. where things start to go a little bit
- 11:42Speaker 1: bad and then, you know, everybody in the building gets
- 11:45Speaker 1: a certain level of just like tight. And I feel
- 11:48Speaker 1: like it bleeds down onto the court at the beginning
- 11:51Speaker 1: of the game. Was that joy like carried over from
- 11:54Speaker 1: the moment just before, or was there a lot of
- 11:57Speaker 1: Nick fans like me who are like, first of all,
- 11:59Speaker 1: LeBron's here and we know what he does in the garden.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Second of all, like, come on, man, it's spring night.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Let's just look, can we just get this dub? Like,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and then that nervous energy, I feel like sometimes permeates
- 12:08Speaker 1: through everybody, including the guys on the court.
- 12:12Speaker 2: No, I think the general consensus throughout the crowd and
- 12:16Speaker 2: the arena, and of course we want to win. It
- 12:18Speaker 2: was there until the last second ticked off and the
- 12:20Speaker 2: groans of disappointment happened. But for the most part, there
- 12:24Speaker 2: was just this energy like it's ring night. We're happy
- 12:26Speaker 2: no matter what. There were some things that took place.
- 12:31Speaker 2: How do I describe it? So the guy that was
- 12:32Speaker 2: sitting immediately to my right, for example, and there was
- 12:36Speaker 2: a couple that came from Philadelphia. They were all decked out.
- 12:38Speaker 2: They were sitting behind us. I was kind of talking
- 12:40Speaker 2: to them for a little bit. Um, it was almost
- 12:43Speaker 2: like people came with agendas. Like the guy was sitting
- 12:45Speaker 2: next to me and the guy was next to him.
- 12:47Speaker 2: He's like, oh, we came to record how many times
- 12:51Speaker 2: LeBron bitches and moans. And I didn't think of it.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:55Speaker 2: But now, because this young man made me aware of it,
- 12:58Speaker 2: we were literally watching how many temper tantrums and they
- 13:01Speaker 2: had a count and they had a camera and they
- 13:03Speaker 2: were recording. It was like, they were creating content centered
- 13:05Speaker 2: around how much he falls apart and how much he
- 13:08Speaker 2: becomes a cry baby.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Well, he gave him some, that's for sure.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:12Speaker 2: And then there was a moment, and I don't know
- 13:14Speaker 2: if the TV or the broadcast caught this, but I
- 13:17Speaker 2: know we caught it. He was at the free throw.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I think it was in the second half, but he
- 13:20Speaker 2: was in this free throw line. And this really gives
- 13:22Speaker 2: you an example of what the energy in the game was,
- 13:28Speaker 2: where they started chanting to him, we don't want you.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I don't know if the camera picked that up, but
- 13:34Speaker 2: there was a point in the game where he had chanted,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and he missed the free throw. And it was like
- 13:38Speaker 2: the crowd felt like they won. The crowd was just like, yeah,
- 13:40Speaker 2: we caused that miss. And it was clear that it
- 13:42Speaker 2: rattled them. So it was just, I don't know, man.
- 13:44Speaker 2: It just was crazy. But the energy of disappointment, it
- 13:47Speaker 2: really didn't hit to the last second. And even then,
- 13:49Speaker 2: people were just like, you know what? We're celebrating Ring Night.
- 13:52Speaker 2: We're happy to be here. It doesn't even matter.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm glad to hear that. And I've seen a lot
- 13:56Speaker 1: of people say this on X, and it's definitely something
- 13:58Speaker 1: that I feel. And it's not even just about my
- 14:00Speaker 1: Nick fandom. It's about all of my fandom, my Jets fandom,
- 14:03Speaker 1: my Mets fandom, everything feels different now. You know, like
- 14:07Speaker 1: the doom and gloom of like, oh man, we just
- 14:11Speaker 1: lost this first game. We're not going to be able to,
- 14:13Speaker 1: we're going to have such an issue with Philly now
- 14:15Speaker 1: this year and everything. And it's, it's, it's two, it's two,
- 14:18Speaker 1: two parts. First and foremost, We're champs. So, you know,
- 14:22Speaker 1: we have that. We'll always have that. It's not something
- 14:24Speaker 1: that's like, oh, it's never happened in my lifetime. Can
- 14:26Speaker 1: it please happen before my pops? Well, I still got
- 14:29Speaker 1: my pops. All these things like, you know, all those
- 14:31Speaker 1: things are gone. I'm good on that. So there's so
- 14:34Speaker 1: that angst is has flown away. But beyond that, this
- 14:37Speaker 1: team has always given as consistently, especially since, you know,
- 14:44Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson has been here. I shouldn't even say especially.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Since Jalen Brunson has been here, this team has always
- 14:50Speaker 1: given me the feeling that, you know what, man? We
- 14:52Speaker 1: still got a shot. Obviously, we know this Knick team
- 14:57Speaker 1: and their ability to be able to come back and
- 14:59Speaker 1: do it in historic fashion. But even just in the
- 15:02Speaker 1: course of a season, I'm like, I'm not going to
- 15:05Speaker 1: fret like I ever did before. Now, let us start
- 15:08Speaker 1: out 5-15. Maybe I'll be singing a different tune. But yesterday,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I was annoyed, but I got over it really quick.
- 15:16Speaker 1: This morning, I was able to watch some of the shows.
- 15:19Speaker 1: I watched a little bit of First Take. I watched
- 15:22Speaker 1: a little bit of Get Up. And sometimes after a
- 15:26Speaker 1: horrible Knicks loss, I don't consume any sports because all
- 15:30Speaker 1: it's going to do is just piss me the fuck off.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And so the fact that this morning I was just like, yo,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, this feels different.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a real thing. I got to tell you,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I probably had the most peaceful summer. I honestly wasn't
- 15:43Speaker 2: really in tune with my own Knick fandom because usually
- 15:46Speaker 2: I've been to Summer League and I want to get
- 15:49Speaker 2: into every nook and cranny as a fan. Obviously, I'm
- 15:51Speaker 2: not some kind of coach or something like that. I'm
- 15:53Speaker 2: not calling X the nose. I'm not about to tell
- 15:56Speaker 2: you that they're running Spain pick and roll out of
- 15:57Speaker 2: the corner. I'm not that guy. I'm not that X
- 15:59Speaker 2: the nose guys. But I love the team and I
- 16:01Speaker 2: like to be in tune. So I've had times where
- 16:03Speaker 2: I'm at the draft. Like I said, I went out
- 16:06Speaker 2: to Summer League. I'm in tune. Bro, I didn't have
- 16:08Speaker 2: none of that on my schedule. I was like, nah,
- 16:10Speaker 2: we're going to go on vacation.
- 16:11Speaker 4: We're going to relax.
- 16:12Speaker 2: We're chilling. And it wasn't really, you know when it
- 16:15Speaker 2: hit me a little bit when the first invoice showed
- 16:19Speaker 2: up to pay for the season tickets? That was the
- 16:21Speaker 2: first time that the reality check came in. And then
- 16:25Speaker 2: the second time was, I'm going to say probably about
- 16:28Speaker 2: a week before opening day that I was like, all right,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I got my mojo back. I'm locking in.
- 16:34Speaker 4: I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 16:35Speaker 2: But you touched on something, and I'm getting an echo,
- 16:38Speaker 2: like a feedback. You guys hear that or no?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it's my.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Keep going. Okay, okay, cool.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Cool, no problem.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So sorry. Yeah, so something you touched on, and I
- 16:49Speaker 2: wanted to follow up on it. We went through that playoff,
- 16:54Speaker 2: and we had like this heroic run, and everybody was clicking,
- 16:58Speaker 2: and everybody had their moment, and we had these incredible comebacks,
- 17:01Speaker 2: 29 points, whatever they were. And last night, Because I
- 17:07Speaker 2: got to tell you, it was the third quarter of Duman.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I know you said we're going to get into that.
- 17:11Speaker 2: But when I got back, because I went from halftime
- 17:16Speaker 2: to about mid-third quarter or late in the third, I
- 17:19Speaker 2: didn't come back to my seat. I'm talking to guys
- 17:21Speaker 2: that I haven't seen. I'm in the hallway.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I got a drink.
- 17:23Speaker 2: We're all just enjoying the moment and seeing what merch
- 17:26Speaker 2: is still available in the store. It was that. It
- 17:29Speaker 2: definitely wasn't the type of folks that you have in
- 17:31Speaker 2: your normal regular season game. We were going through that.
- 17:34Speaker 2: And when I got to my seat, there was, I
- 17:36Speaker 2: don't know if it's arrogance, maybe it's confidence, whatever. But
- 17:41Speaker 2: there was this belief that it didn't matter, that we
- 17:45Speaker 2: were down maybe four or six points at that point.
- 17:48Speaker 2: And you said we'll get into it, so I'm going
- 17:51Speaker 2: to hold off on the actual gameplay and the game itself.
- 17:53Speaker 2: But to the point that you were making, there was
- 17:56Speaker 2: this belief that no matter what, we can win this
- 17:59Speaker 2: game and we're going to win this game. And it
- 18:00Speaker 2: wasn't until Jalen missed this bunny shot. It might've been
- 18:03Speaker 2: under a minute or might've been like a minute or
- 18:05Speaker 2: under two minutes for sure. But it wasn't until Jalen
- 18:08Speaker 2: was at the rim and missed the bunny that you
- 18:10Speaker 2: were like, you know what? This is not going to happen.
- 18:12Speaker 2: We're going to lose opening night at the garden. And
- 18:15Speaker 2: it was just like, I don't want to say back
- 18:18Speaker 2: to normal, but it was like the Cinderella slept. It
- 18:21Speaker 2: was off. And the storybook is closed. And now it's
- 18:25Speaker 2: back to reality because everything prior to that, man, that
- 18:28Speaker 2: playoff run and everything that happened was just, We're unstoppable.
- 18:31Speaker 2: There's no lead that's too big. There's no moment that's
- 18:33Speaker 2: too big. These guys can get it done. And last night, unfortunately,
- 18:36Speaker 2: on opening night, it was that reality check.
- 18:40Speaker 1: You know, you talk about when Jalen missed that bunny.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I had the exact same feeling at home. I looked
- 18:44Speaker 1: at my son when he missed the bunny, and then
- 18:47Speaker 1: he had the one like where he had the floater
- 18:50Speaker 1: that he missed in the lane right after he came
- 18:51Speaker 1: back into the game in the fourth quarter. The fourth
- 18:53Speaker 1: quarter with like seven and change, usually we wait until
- 18:56Speaker 1: the first break after seven to bring him back. With
- 18:58Speaker 1: seven and change, I was looking at my son like,
- 18:59Speaker 1: we need to go ahead and bring him back. Right now.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Bring him back in the game. But then we waited.
- 19:03Speaker 1: And the second unit, you know, Alvarado was doing his thing.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You know, Shamit was playing pretty well. Deuce is a disaster.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And I can't wait. I'm over Deuce, but I'm going
- 19:11Speaker 1: to get to that in a second too. But no,
- 19:13Speaker 1: but the thing is, is that when he comes back
- 19:15Speaker 1: in and then immediately he gets a little floater and
- 19:18Speaker 1: he misses, and it's like, that's your shot. And then
- 19:20Speaker 1: he gets a little, a little pull up, fade away with,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you know, and he got the defender off of him.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And I'm like, I mean, there's just no way that's
- 19:26Speaker 1: not going in. And when that one missed, it was like,
- 19:28Speaker 1: all right, okay.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 5: All right.
- 19:30Speaker 3: OK.
- 19:31Speaker 1: You know, it goes that way sometimes. Well, you know,
- 19:33Speaker 1: it is what it is. Back to reality.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Back to reality.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Yep.
- 19:38Speaker 1: But so, I mean, for me personally, I do. Tyrese
- 19:44Speaker 1: Maxey scares me more than any player in the entire NBA.
- 19:49Speaker 1: That guy is such a blur, yo. Him and Ed
- 19:51Speaker 1: Edwards are the two guys that it's just like you
- 19:53Speaker 1: feel like sometimes it doesn't matter what you do, that
- 19:56Speaker 1: they're unstoppable. And now I think that Maxey is going
- 19:59Speaker 1: to be elevated there. so much by LeBron. LeBron's going
- 20:02Speaker 1: to help his game more than anybody else. And when
- 20:07Speaker 1: that team first gets put together, you look at it
- 20:09Speaker 1: and you say, ah, is there enough basketballs? And I
- 20:11Speaker 1: do think that will rear its head throughout the course
- 20:16Speaker 1: of the entire season. But if the Knicks don't figure
- 20:18Speaker 1: out a better way to wall up Maxie and do
- 20:21Speaker 1: something to be able to stay in front of this
- 20:23Speaker 1: guy and not let him get a full head of
- 20:24Speaker 1: steam going downhill, they're going to be They're going to
- 20:28Speaker 1: be trouble for us. And, you know, Joel Embiid said
- 20:30Speaker 1: after the game yesterday that, you know, the Knicks have
- 20:34Speaker 1: handled us these last couple seasons, but obviously today felt different. Well,
- 20:37Speaker 1: when you add two of the 10 best players in
- 20:39Speaker 1: the NBA to your team, it should be different, and
- 20:42Speaker 1: it should feel different. Are you scared of Philly now
- 20:45Speaker 1: moving forward, or do you still feel pretty confident?
- 20:50Speaker 2: I gained or I earned more respect for them. I was,
- 20:56Speaker 2: I am one of those people that, Not enough basketballs.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I felt the egos in the room. And it's early.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It's only one game. You can't just jump to the conclusion.
- 21:04Speaker 2: But what I will acknowledge right away is that there
- 21:08Speaker 2: is a chemistry, I think, between Jalen and LeBron that
- 21:13Speaker 2: it's a little bit better than I would have expected
- 21:15Speaker 2: on an opening night. I think those two guys seem
- 21:17Speaker 2: to play well together.
- 21:20Speaker 4: What else?
- 21:21Speaker 2: For a team that was missing Wade, right? They just
- 21:25Speaker 2: brought in the kid Wade.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yeah, Dean Wade.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Dean Wade, thank you. They brought in that kid. He's
- 21:30Speaker 2: got to be like 6'10 or something. They got some
- 21:32Speaker 2: size with him. And they had this other kid last year,
- 21:35Speaker 2: Barlow or Bartow or something or other. He's a big, right? He's,
- 21:41Speaker 2: I think, 6'10 also. He's not physically imposing like that,
- 21:45Speaker 2: but he's one of those pogo stick guys. He works hard.
- 21:47Speaker 2: He box out. He wasn't around. And what you ended
- 21:50Speaker 2: up seeing, at least I saw it in moments, was
- 21:52Speaker 2: LeBron playing center. And I'm like, that's not going to work.
- 21:56Speaker 2: But you know what? LeBron actually defended Carl decent. He
- 22:01Speaker 2: did it better than I would have thought. And that,
- 22:03Speaker 2: I don't want to say scared me, but that was
- 22:05Speaker 2: a wake-up call. Like, these guys are down two bigs.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And while Drummond played well, I thought Drummond played really well,
- 22:11Speaker 2: especially early in the game, there wasn't enough. You saw
- 22:15Speaker 2: the rebounding from Drummond. But to just keep the focus
- 22:18Speaker 2: on Philly, There's definitely, and they're talented. It's a superstar lineup,
- 22:22Speaker 2: so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised. But some of
- 22:25Speaker 2: the chemistry and some of the actions and gameplay from
- 22:27Speaker 2: them was impressive.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Like, okay, you know what?
- 22:30Speaker 2: These guys are definitely gelling or playing well together out
- 22:34Speaker 2: of the gate. So I thought that was interesting. So, yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 2: maybe I was underestimating them. Maybe I thought, oh, super team,
- 22:39Speaker 2: it's never.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Going to work.
- 22:40Speaker 2: They looked good last night, man. They looked good last night.
- 22:42Speaker 2: They're for real. You got to take them seriously.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick Nurse is a guy who I also think
- 22:46Speaker 1: is a bit of a fraud, but I got to
- 22:48Speaker 1: give them credit. There was a couple times where I
- 22:50Speaker 1: felt like, you know, coming out of timeouts, there were
- 22:52Speaker 1: some things that they were drawing up where, you know,
- 22:54Speaker 1: at this point, LeBron's pretty much the coach, in my opinion. Like,
- 22:56Speaker 1: Nick Nurse is just basically, you know, LeBron's caddy. But
- 23:00Speaker 1: there was a couple times where he was doing shit
- 23:01Speaker 1: where I was like, okay, this looks pretty good. And
- 23:03Speaker 1: Anthony Simons fucking killed us, yo.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Simons killed us.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I've always been a fan of that kid, especially while
- 23:11Speaker 2: he was with Portland. I don't think Boston ever really
- 23:14Speaker 2: got anything out of him, but that's somebody to worry about, man.
- 23:18Speaker 1: This is his perfect situation. He's the exact guy that
- 23:22Speaker 1: if you ask him a little bit too much of him,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you ask him to be your third or fourth guy,
- 23:27Speaker 1: some teams have asked him to be their second guy,
- 23:29Speaker 1: he's not that. But you ask him to be like
- 23:30Speaker 1: your sixth or seventh guy, flamethrower, and if it's going,
- 23:34Speaker 1: then you ride with him. And if he doesn't, you don't.
- 23:36Speaker 1: He's everything that you want Deuce to become what he is.
- 23:41Speaker 1: But it hasn't matured. It hasn't happened. And at the
- 23:45Speaker 1: beginning of the game, you got Karl-Anthony Towns picking up
- 23:48Speaker 1: some huge fouls. One of them was bullshit. One of
- 23:50Speaker 1: them was not. Him kicking out that foot, I don't
- 23:53Speaker 1: know how much you saw that on the replay. But
- 23:55Speaker 1: come on, man.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yo, bro.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Cat has at least two fouls a game where it's like,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Just please explain to me how you thought that the
- 24:02Speaker 1: ref wasn't going to call that where you grab this
- 24:05Speaker 1: guy's arm or you kick your foot out like that
- 24:07Speaker 1: and you're the biggest player on the floor with size
- 24:09Speaker 1: 22 sneakers. Come on, Cat. You've got to be smarter
- 24:12Speaker 1: than that.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Let me tell you, when Carl is on his game
- 24:16Speaker 2: and Carl's locked in and he's playing ball ball and
- 24:18Speaker 2: he's not doing some of that silly stuff, I think
- 24:20Speaker 2: he does that. And this is just me. Not a
- 24:22Speaker 2: guy I know, but sometimes I feel like he's lazy
- 24:25Speaker 2: and he's not working and he's looking to cheat and
- 24:27Speaker 2: he's doing these little silly things because he's looking for
- 24:29Speaker 2: a bailout. That's when we're really getting the worst version
- 24:31Speaker 2: of Carl, I think. And Carl is great.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Carl is great.
- 24:33Speaker 2: But when he does those things, he's not. When he
- 24:35Speaker 2: does those things, he's doing more harm than good. And
- 24:37Speaker 2: you hate to see it. I think it was just
- 24:39Speaker 2: laziness on his part. Championship hangover, I think, is the
- 24:42Speaker 2: term they use for it. Maybe it's just all part
- 24:44Speaker 2: of that, and they get themselves together. But I hated
- 24:46Speaker 2: seeing that. And I knew right away when I saw it.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 24:50Speaker 2: No, and I knew right away when I saw it.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Because there was the play before the review. There was
- 24:55Speaker 2: another play that he stuck out his leg, blatantly stuck
- 24:57Speaker 2: out his leg. Because he thought there was going to
- 24:59Speaker 2: be some contact there, and then he sprawled himself on
- 25:01Speaker 2: the floor. Like, come on, man. Joel Embiid is on
- 25:03Speaker 2: that side of the ball, right? Like, don't be Joel
- 25:06Speaker 2: Embiid about it. Like, let's play lawyer.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Let's not do that. It's mental laziness, too. Because the
- 25:10Speaker 1: thing at the end of the day is, when you
- 25:11Speaker 1: look at his stat line, he played 23 minutes. He
- 25:13Speaker 1: had 19 points, 12 rebounds. A block. No, I'm sorry.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Two blocks, a steal, and assists. He had the two
- 25:23Speaker 1: threes that even made it a game late. I mean,
- 25:26Speaker 1: just absolutely fantastic shots that nobody in the world can
- 25:28Speaker 1: hit but him. And, yo, we somehow, someway end up
- 25:33Speaker 1: with Drummond having to play 24 minutes. So he plays
- 25:40Speaker 1: more minutes than Carl Anthony Towns because Towns can't stay
- 25:42Speaker 1: on the floor. Drummond, by the way, had a very
- 25:45Speaker 1: good first half. He probably was the best Nick in
- 25:48Speaker 1: the first half, honestly. And, you know, Karl-Anthony Towns, he's
- 25:52Speaker 1: just got to be better with that. I mean, yesterday
- 25:55Speaker 1: was the game where he has 40 if he just
- 25:58Speaker 1: has his mind right.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Right, right, right. And, you know, about that game and
- 26:04Speaker 2: looking at it that way, in some ways, I don't
- 26:09Speaker 2: want to– what do you call it? I don't need
- 26:11Speaker 2: a consolation prize. We should have won. Even with all
- 26:14Speaker 2: of the deficiencies, there were opportunities to win that game late,
- 26:17Speaker 2: and we didn't, and we got to own that. But
- 26:20Speaker 2: that said, those moments you talked about with Andre Drummond
- 26:25Speaker 2: were awesome to see. Shamit clearly came out to play ball.
- 26:29Speaker 2: He was locked in. When Carl got the two fouls
- 26:33Speaker 2: early and Jose came in, Jose was giving you some stuff.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Went drumming on the floor, working together. It was a
- 26:40Speaker 2: lot of good things. Now, clearly, I think Jalen really
- 26:42Speaker 2: didn't have it. Again, I don't know if it was
- 26:44Speaker 2: just championship hangover. When they came out in that third quarter,
- 26:46Speaker 2: it seemed like Josh was the only one that got
- 26:48Speaker 2: the memo that there was a second half to play.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yep, yep.
- 26:51Speaker 2: And the third quarter just kind of went to shit. But,
- 26:54Speaker 2: you know, like, just trying to summarize it all and
- 26:58Speaker 2: summarize it around Carl. My biggest thing coming into this
- 27:02Speaker 2: season is about the center spot. And I said this on,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I forgot, I was on with someone else when we
- 27:07Speaker 2: were having this conversation. But for me, right, I look
- 27:10Speaker 2: at the arc that we went on when we got
- 27:12Speaker 2: to the championship. And for me, that arc starts with
- 27:15Speaker 2: Tom Thibodeau and 48 minutes of rim protection where we
- 27:18Speaker 2: had New Orleans Noel and we had Mitchell Robinson. And
- 27:24Speaker 2: then you fast forward and now we got Isaiah Hartenstein
- 27:27Speaker 2: and we got Mitchell Robinson, right? And then now you
- 27:30Speaker 2: move on again and now you're looking at Carl Towns,
- 27:32Speaker 2: this new reinvented Carl Towns because Carl Towns started playing
- 27:35Speaker 2: defense or playing defense at a higher level, I should say.
- 27:38Speaker 2: So you have now 48 minutes of rim protection again,
- 27:43Speaker 2: because Carl was giving you that as a defensive anchor.
- 27:46Speaker 2: And then Mitch was always that. This season, I don't
- 27:50Speaker 2: see that from Andre. So I was curious to see
- 27:53Speaker 2: defensively how that kind of plays off. And with Carl
- 27:55Speaker 2: off the floor and seeing Andre give you everything that
- 27:58Speaker 2: he could in the first as far as offensively, I
- 28:02Speaker 2: felt kind of good, but I still don't feel comfortable
- 28:05Speaker 2: Because you touched on Maxie being this downhill guy and
- 28:09Speaker 2: he's a load and you got to deal with him.
- 28:10Speaker 2: We know that our backcourt is porous. We don't have
- 28:13Speaker 2: necessarily the best backcourt defensively. And Carl makes his mistake.
- 28:18Speaker 2: What's going to happen? Are we going to start seeing
- 28:20Speaker 2: Wiseman or is German going to become a better rim protector?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Because I don't know, man. Those are the things I
- 28:25Speaker 2: think about. So I don't know. I don't know with Carl, man.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I'm happy with German, but I don't know. You guys there?
- 28:43Speaker 2: I can see you speaking, but I can't hear you.
- 28:48Speaker 1: My bad, my bad, my bad. A little technical difficulties
- 28:50Speaker 1: on over here, but we're getting it figured out as
- 28:52Speaker 1: we go on the fly. But, you know, I think
- 28:54Speaker 1: that when it comes to. We got to see a
- 28:58Speaker 1: little bit more of Wiseman right there. You know, I
- 29:02Speaker 1: thought that Drummond, as well as he played in the
- 29:05Speaker 1: second half, you'd see that, you know, things kind of
- 29:08Speaker 1: started to come back to earth for him a little bit.
- 29:11Speaker 1: And I think that a lot of that has to
- 29:13Speaker 1: do with the fact that, you know, he's the age
- 29:17Speaker 1: that he is. There's only so much he can give.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I did like the story about Drummond. I don't know
- 29:21Speaker 1: if you caught it today was the fact that he
- 29:23Speaker 1: stayed in the back for the ring ceremony. Because he
- 29:26Speaker 1: was just like, you know, I haven't, you know, I
- 29:28Speaker 1: didn't earn that. Like, you know, I got no reason
- 29:30Speaker 1: to be out there. And then he ends up being
- 29:33Speaker 1: our best player in the first half. So I think
- 29:35Speaker 1: there's something there, too, because I think that, you know,
- 29:37Speaker 1: he didn't have maybe that hangover both mentally. And it's
- 29:40Speaker 1: a weird thing physically, too, where you have such a routine. And,
- 29:44Speaker 1: you know, you come out, you do this, blah, blah, blah.
- 29:46Speaker 1: And when that gets changed just a little bit, I
- 29:48Speaker 1: think that can be tough. But the other part is
- 29:51Speaker 1: that we played pretty good in the first half. It
- 29:53Speaker 1: was the third quarter where really we let go of
- 29:55Speaker 1: the rope. Now, let's talk a little bit about the
- 29:57Speaker 1: third quarter because, There was a few things. Obviously, the
- 29:59Speaker 1: Knicks got way too sloppy with the ball across the game.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I think they had 22 turnovers. And yeah, man, that
- 30:05Speaker 1: last couple minutes, the way that we closed out the
- 30:07Speaker 1: quarter before Deuce threw that ball away, which I'm going
- 30:13Speaker 1: to talk about that a little bit more detail in
- 30:15Speaker 1: a second. But before he even did that, I texted
- 30:19Speaker 1: my dad, what a shitty end to the quarter. And
- 30:21Speaker 1: so then, obviously, that got multiplied tenfold when Deuce McBride,
- 30:27Speaker 1: who was was a high school quarterback, by the way,
- 30:30Speaker 1: decides to throw an out route. He tries to throw
- 30:35Speaker 1: a fade pattern to Drummond where it's, again, my 10-year-old
- 30:40Speaker 1: son looked at me right there and was like, what
- 30:42Speaker 1: was Drummond going to do with that ball even if
- 30:44Speaker 1: he caught it? You know what I'm saying? If he
- 30:46Speaker 1: catches it fading away towards the baseline over his shoulder
- 30:50Speaker 1: like this, what the, what the, what is he going
- 30:51Speaker 1: to do with that ball?
- 30:53Speaker 3: Deuce.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Time, score, and possession. There's 1.5 left. You give them
- 30:58Speaker 1: the ball back in that same spot, which obviously is
- 31:01Speaker 1: a spot that, oh, guess what? LeBron, you come in,
- 31:03Speaker 1: the best passer of all time. You come in, and
- 31:05Speaker 1: you pass the ball into Jalen Brown on a perfect play,
- 31:10Speaker 1: and now they hit a three. All the momentum took
- 31:12Speaker 1: the air out of the building at that moment right
- 31:15Speaker 1: then and there because nothing infuriates me more about the
- 31:18Speaker 1: fact that with Deuce, when he gets put into a game,
- 31:21Speaker 1: he can't dribble. He used to be some, like, pesky
- 31:25Speaker 1: impact defender. He's not that anymore. And in addition to that, yo,
- 31:31Speaker 1: when he has a game like yesterday where that gets
- 31:34Speaker 1: kicked to the corner and he's wide open and the
- 31:36Speaker 1: whole crowd is, dude. When he misses, like, three of
- 31:38Speaker 1: those in a row, I'm like, get him out. He's
- 31:42Speaker 1: useless at that point. And now you want to do
- 31:44Speaker 1: that dumb shit and throw that ball away? Listen. Listen.
- 31:48Speaker 1: You never want to say, and we got it to
- 31:50Speaker 1: within like two in the fourth quarter. So obviously, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 1: there's a whole lot of variables. In my opinion, that
- 31:58Speaker 1: sequence right there at the end of the third quarter,
- 32:00Speaker 1: I feel like it lost us the game.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, when it comes to Deuce right now,
- 32:05Speaker 2: I look at it a little interesting where he's so
- 32:07Speaker 2: much under the microscope right now. I think all of
- 32:09Speaker 2: the trade rumors and the obvious fact that he wasn't signed,
- 32:12Speaker 2: knowing that they need at least 180 days to move
- 32:14Speaker 2: him into trade so they weren't going to sign him,
- 32:15Speaker 2: they can't extend him. I can't imagine the kind of
- 32:20Speaker 2: mental state he has to be in in these games
- 32:22Speaker 2: right now because he didn't play well in the playoffs, right?
- 32:26Speaker 2: It's his opening night, ring night, and you just got
- 32:29Speaker 2: to have more control in that. You can't gamble like that.
- 32:31Speaker 2: You have to know what you're doing.
- 32:33Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I don't want to make excuses for him. I'm sure
- 32:36Speaker 2: he's a great player, but. I mean, I'm sure he's
- 32:40Speaker 2: a great person and everything else, but it's just some
- 32:41Speaker 2: of it sometimes with him. You mentioned he can't- See.
- 32:43Speaker 1: No, no, no. Forget that shit. My dad always tries
- 32:46Speaker 1: to- First of all, by the way, I've had technical
- 32:48Speaker 1: difficulties a couple times and been kicked out, but you've
- 32:50Speaker 1: done a good job of filibustering. If it happens again,
- 32:52Speaker 1: do that. I'll figure it out on the way.
- 32:54Speaker 4: I got you. I got you.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Whatever, but I talk to my IT guy afterwards, but yo, listen.
- 32:59Speaker 1: That's that shit. Well, my dad always says shit. My
- 33:02Speaker 1: dad specifically is a deuce apologizer. And my dad always
- 33:04Speaker 1: says shit just like you said. I'm sure he's a
- 33:06Speaker 1: nice guy and everything. I don't give a fuck if
- 33:10Speaker 1: he's a nice guy. I need you to hit the
- 33:14Speaker 1: goddamn three and not do no stupid shit. And maybe,
- 33:18Speaker 1: just maybe, in the course of your career, you were
- 33:21Speaker 1: a guy who came in and couldn't shoot a basketball
- 33:23Speaker 1: at all. And you've turned yourself into a reliable shooter.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Just maybe. One summer. Fucking... get some get some some
- 33:30Speaker 1: sort of like drip handle drill there was one there
- 33:33Speaker 1: was one game in the preseason me and my pops
- 33:35Speaker 1: were cracking up because i texted about i was like
- 33:36Speaker 1: yo deuce just tried to do some slick shit deuce
- 33:38Speaker 1: tried to put the ball between his legs and then
- 33:40Speaker 1: right behind his back and he immediately had to pick
- 33:42Speaker 1: it up because if he would have taken one more
- 33:44Speaker 1: dribble he would have lost.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Too much doing too much doing too much my my
- 33:48Speaker 2: moment like that with deuce and i don't know if
- 33:50Speaker 2: you remember this and i swear i need to hunt
- 33:51Speaker 2: this down and clip it and use it as a
- 33:54Speaker 2: gift but there is a moment And I'm sure it
- 33:56Speaker 2: was a teaching moment. I always think of this term
- 33:59Speaker 2: in basketball because the year that we won like 17
- 34:03Speaker 2: games with David Fisdale at the helm, we opened up
- 34:07Speaker 2: against Atlanta, Trey Young's first game in the league. I'm
- 34:10Speaker 2: in the arena. The place is going crazy. We went
- 34:12Speaker 2: like 120 to 80 something. We blowed them out, blowed
- 34:14Speaker 2: the doors off of them. And this is a 17-1 season.
- 34:18Speaker 2: But of course, that's game one and everything's riding high.
- 34:21Speaker 2: And it's the year that we ended up tanking. And
- 34:25Speaker 2: the very second game of the season, we're playing the
- 34:27Speaker 2: Brooklyn Nets. We were on the road, and the game
- 34:31Speaker 2: comes down to the final possession. I think it was Lavert,
- 34:34Speaker 2: Karras Lavert, has the ball, and he's one-on-one. And of
- 34:38Speaker 2: all people they put on him, instead of putting Franklin
- 34:40Speaker 2: Laquina on him to win the game, they put Tim. No, no,
- 34:44Speaker 2: they put Tim Harvey. Deuce wasn't with the team years ago.
- 34:47Speaker 2: So they put Tim Harvey, and Tim Harvey can't defend
- 34:51Speaker 2: himself in an argument. So You know, he puts him hard.
- 34:55Speaker 2: He blows by him. He lays it up, and they
- 34:56Speaker 2: lose the game. And when David Fisdale was speaking about
- 34:59Speaker 2: it afterwards, he was like, it was a teaching moment.
- 35:01Speaker 2: We're in a rebuild, and you have to give these
- 35:03Speaker 2: guys those opportunities to learn and be better defenders.
- 35:05Speaker 4: And I'm like, come on, man.
- 35:06Speaker 2: You put Frank Millikin on Castover. You lock him up.
- 35:08Speaker 2: You get the win. You get out of the building.
- 35:10Speaker 2: But it was a tank year.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It is what it is.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Fast forward to last year. Deuce McBride, game-winning scenario. We're down,
- 35:16Speaker 2: I think, one. And Mike Brown calls the play for
- 35:22Speaker 2: Deuce McBride. And when I tell you, and I swear
- 35:27Speaker 2: somebody out there has to find it, somebody has to
- 35:29Speaker 2: find this moment.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Carl Towns literally looks up and rolls his eyes because
- 35:36Speaker 2: he's like, I can't believe he's calling an ISO for
- 35:38Speaker 2: Deuce McBride in this scenario with the game.
- 35:40Speaker 1: On the line.
- 35:41Speaker 2: And Deuce promptly, not fumbles it out of bound, but
- 35:43Speaker 2: he blows it. It's terrible. It just looks awkward. He
- 35:46Speaker 2: can't create a shot for himself. And I'm just like,
- 35:49Speaker 2: all right, you're still that guy. You're still that guy.
- 35:52Speaker 4: You've been in the league.
- 35:53Speaker 2: You won a championship. You're trying to get paid. You
- 35:56Speaker 2: still can't give me the OTD that we need to
- 35:59Speaker 2: be valuable out there. And that's disappointing with Deuce, man.
- 36:01Speaker 4: So I don't know.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I don't think it's Deuce.
- 36:03Speaker 1: Listen, and that's the thing. Clearly, Deuce is a really
- 36:06Speaker 1: good guy because not only does Mike Brown give him,
- 36:09Speaker 1: you know, the ISO in that spot, but I was,
- 36:13Speaker 1: you know, one of the biggest flips. Everybody, a lot
- 36:16Speaker 1: of Knicks fans know that last year, Warner were down
- 36:19Speaker 1: 2-1 against Atlanta. There's a whole lot of us that
- 36:23Speaker 1: said a whole lot of things that we're all taking
- 36:26Speaker 1: back right now. Cause I would do that. We were
- 36:27Speaker 1: taken back, you know, exponentially over the next couple of weeks.
- 36:31Speaker 1: But one was, I had some shit to say about bridges.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Two was, I had some shit to say about cat
- 36:38Speaker 1: and his, you know, defensive ability, his toughness and all
- 36:41Speaker 1: these other things.
- 36:42Speaker 2: And I'm right there with you.
- 36:45Speaker 1: When it comes to Mike Brown, when Mike Brown in
- 36:48Speaker 1: game three, had Deuce guarding C.J. McCollum, and C.J. McCollum
- 36:53Speaker 1: was able to just get to his spot. Deuce was
- 36:55Speaker 1: on him. He just gets up, raises up, hits a
- 36:58Speaker 1: nice little 15-footer, ball game, over. And it's like, yo,
- 37:02Speaker 1: that's the other thing about Deuce. Deuce is a player
- 37:05Speaker 1: that his entire game would be perfect if he was 6'7,
- 37:08Speaker 1: but he's not. So when you can't dribble, and then
- 37:12Speaker 1: I can't have you on the floor in big moments
- 37:13Speaker 1: with Brunson because whoever that second player is that you
- 37:17Speaker 1: have to guard, he's shooting over you. And if he's
- 37:20Speaker 1: your size, like he's a maxi type, he's running right
- 37:23Speaker 1: past you. I'm just, yeah, man, I've had it with Deuce.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I've had it with Deuce. And listen. Like I said,
- 37:30Speaker 1: my dad is the biggest Deuce apologizer. And even he
- 37:32Speaker 1: is like, yo, I don't know about that. I don't know, man.
- 37:35Speaker 1: What the fuck with this guy? And the thing is
- 37:36Speaker 1: that there's been so many times where I've said I've
- 37:38Speaker 1: had it with Deuce. And then Deuce comes out and
- 37:40Speaker 1: he has a game where he hits, you know, four
- 37:41Speaker 1: straight threes.
- 37:42Speaker 4: And I'm like, ah, my guy.
- 37:43Speaker 1: That's my boy. There was one point where I refused
- 37:47Speaker 1: to call him Deuce. I would only call him Miles.
- 37:48Speaker 1: I was like, he's got to be better for me
- 37:50Speaker 1: to get a nickname. Don't get a nickname for me
- 37:52Speaker 1: with that bullshit.
- 37:54Speaker 2: You know, I don't want to be an apologist. I
- 37:57Speaker 2: definitely don't. If I'm being honest, I think it was
- 38:00Speaker 2: his aunt or his mom. I sat next to his
- 38:01Speaker 2: mom next to the game, and his mom's a sweetheart,
- 38:04Speaker 2: and we talk, and that's what it was. Maybe that's–
- 38:06Speaker 2: I don't know. But I can hear you sigh and
- 38:12Speaker 2: exhale when you hear that. But I don't want to
- 38:15Speaker 2: be a douche about it. I just want to keep
- 38:16Speaker 2: it about basketball.
- 38:17Speaker 4: And you're right.
- 38:17Speaker 2: It's disappointing. He's a 3 and D point guard at
- 38:19Speaker 2: this point. He's not a point guard, but he's a
- 38:21Speaker 2: point guard. He's a 3 and D point guard, and
- 38:23Speaker 2: that's all he is. And you're going to need more
- 38:24Speaker 2: because you can't be Reggie Bullock, right? You can't be
- 38:27Speaker 2: Reggie Bullock. You got to give me more if you're
- 38:29Speaker 2: going to be a bull handler. So he's got to
- 38:30Speaker 2: figure that part out. You know what? We talked about this,
- 38:33Speaker 2: and I wanted to ask you, what did you think
- 38:36Speaker 2: about how they defended Jalen? Because Jalen had a tough night. Again,
- 38:39Speaker 2: ring night, hangover, whatever you want to say. But Jalen
- 38:41Speaker 2: Brown versus Jalen Brunson, that's an interesting little thing for
- 38:45Speaker 2: me right now. Jalen Brown clearly has an ego, and
- 38:49Speaker 2: he's clearly a great player. And Jalen is who he is.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Jalen's a great on his own right, and has a ring.
- 38:54Speaker 2: So what do you think about that, man? Jalen Brown
- 38:56Speaker 2: versus Jalen Brunson.
- 38:58Speaker 1: So I think that Jalen Brown plays his best basketball
- 39:03Speaker 1: when he is given a tough defensive assignment. Let's not forget, though,
- 39:07Speaker 1: the the route to him getting a finals MVP was
- 39:11Speaker 1: him locking up Luca. That's what I sometimes, you know,
- 39:14Speaker 1: I thought I couldn't believe that Boston moved on from him.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I think he's a very, very good player there. Whatever
- 39:20Speaker 1: else comes along with that, you handle it and you
- 39:23Speaker 1: deal with it. And I think that having a dude
- 39:26Speaker 1: with his type of confidence and bravado is something that
- 39:29Speaker 1: you need at least once. of those guys on their team.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I think that you can do it in different ways.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I think that Brunson has that same type of confidence
- 39:35Speaker 1: and bravado, but he just does it a different way.
- 39:37Speaker 1: He's much more of a stoic, quiet leader. But I
- 39:39Speaker 1: bet you behind closed doors, he's talking cash shit about
- 39:43Speaker 1: what he can do and what he's going to do
- 39:45Speaker 1: to everybody else. Now, Jalen Brown is a good matchup
- 39:49Speaker 1: for Brunson. He is because of his size where, you know,
- 39:53Speaker 1: he's strong. He's obviously taller and he's got the foot speed.
- 39:58Speaker 1: And I think that he's one of those players that
- 39:59Speaker 1: when you make him engage on the defensive end, it's
- 40:03Speaker 1: going to make him even better on the offensive end
- 40:05Speaker 1: in the short term. Now, I think over the course
- 40:07Speaker 1: of like an entire series that might wear on him
- 40:10Speaker 1: having to deal with Brunson all the time. And you're
- 40:12Speaker 1: also going to see him get into some foul trouble
- 40:14Speaker 1: as well. I think that one of the big things
- 40:16Speaker 1: for me, you know, in that matchup, and I saw
- 40:20Speaker 1: a breakdown of it today, just of a few plays,
- 40:22Speaker 1: but I felt like this a couple of times throughout was,
- 40:26Speaker 1: first of all, if they're just not going to guard
- 40:28Speaker 1: Josh Hart, you still got to pass the ball. There's
- 40:30Speaker 1: times where Brunson, you know, he has the ball and
- 40:33Speaker 1: I mean, LeBron is standing in the paint and Josh
- 40:35Speaker 1: Hart is behind the three point line. And Josh Hart was,
- 40:37Speaker 1: you know, like you said, in the third quarter, our
- 40:39Speaker 1: best offensive weapon. He was being aggressive. He was shooting
- 40:41Speaker 1: the ball with confidence. I said to my son at
- 40:43Speaker 1: one point, he missed one, but I was like, you
- 40:44Speaker 1: know what? He's shooting the ball with confidence. That's what
- 40:46Speaker 1: we need out of Josh Hart. Let's not forget the
- 40:47Speaker 1: guy shot a career-high 41% last year. So what I
- 40:51Speaker 1: need is for us to remember to continue to make
- 40:55Speaker 1: the correct and the next pass. See, I think what
- 40:58Speaker 1: you lose sometimes if you casually watch that Knicks team
- 41:03Speaker 1: from last year is that, okay, Brunson, Iso, Brunson, Iso, Brunson, Iso.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Brunson does play in isolation a lot. He's extremely successful
- 41:12Speaker 1: at it. He's one of the absolute best at it.
- 41:16Speaker 1: But it really works when, and sometimes, last year, this
- 41:20Speaker 1: meant taking Josh Hart off the floor and putting a
- 41:22Speaker 1: shamit on the floor where everybody else has to be guarded. So, Brunson,
- 41:28Speaker 1: if you're in an iso against Jalen Brown, if the
- 41:31Speaker 1: shot clock is where it is and we need a shot,
- 41:33Speaker 1: you know, I trust you going against him and doing that. But...
- 41:38Speaker 1: If you're in a situation where you got Jalen Brown
- 41:41Speaker 1: on you and then you got Josh Hart wide open
- 41:45Speaker 1: and there's seven seconds left on the shot clock. And
- 41:47Speaker 1: what's his name? Bron is standing down there in the paint. Yo,
- 41:51Speaker 1: you got to live or die with that. Even at
- 41:52Speaker 1: the end of games, sometimes just to be able to
- 41:54Speaker 1: keep these guys honest, because I thought that there were
- 41:56Speaker 1: a couple of times in that game where Brunson put
- 42:00Speaker 1: up some shots that I didn't love. Now, got to
- 42:02Speaker 1: be fair. Listen, some of the shots that Brunson hits,
- 42:05Speaker 1: if he don't hit them, I wouldn't love them, but
- 42:07Speaker 1: he hits them. So, you know, that's a, that's a,
- 42:10Speaker 1: that's a, that's a, it's a very, very thin line
- 42:12Speaker 1: right there, but I think it's a tough matchup for us.
- 42:15Speaker 1: And I think that, you know, especially like in a
- 42:17Speaker 1: situation like that, where I think that our biggest advantage
- 42:23Speaker 1: is going to be cat. Now cat in late game situations,
- 42:28Speaker 1: you get nervous with him doing some silly shit where
- 42:30Speaker 1: he loses the ball and doesn't even get a shot
- 42:32Speaker 1: off again. We have to put him in situations like
- 42:34Speaker 1: that early and often during the season against teams where
- 42:38Speaker 1: it makes sense so that we have a good feel
- 42:40Speaker 1: of it. I think that sometimes towards the end of games,
- 42:43Speaker 1: we get a little bit too conservative. Now, you don't
- 42:48Speaker 1: want turnovers. Cat, as much as I love him at the,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you know, high post and all that, he's great at it. Occasionally,
- 42:57Speaker 1: Cat every once in a while will do some silly
- 42:58Speaker 1: shit with the ball. We need him to not do that. But,
- 43:02Speaker 1: I think that overall, you know, Philly's a tough matchup
- 43:05Speaker 1: for us. We have to be on top of our game.
- 43:07Speaker 1: We need OG. to not be the worst. I mean,
- 43:11Speaker 1: that was honestly maybe the worst OG game I've ever seen.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Bridges was a total no-show as well. When those guys,
- 43:20Speaker 1: I think Bridges, OG, and Brunson combined were like 2
- 43:23Speaker 1: of 14 from 3, and just overall the shot percentage
- 43:26Speaker 1: was terrible. You're not going to win when you play
- 43:28Speaker 1: like that. You're not. Point blank, period. So we'll play
- 43:30Speaker 1: a lot better. They'll play a lot better. but it's
- 43:33Speaker 1: going to be an interesting matchup. I think Philly's biggest
- 43:35Speaker 1: thing is, especially when it comes to LeBron and when
- 43:38Speaker 1: it comes to Embiid, is can they be healthy when
- 43:41Speaker 1: you get to the playoffs?
- 43:43Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:44Speaker 2: You touched on something and I wrote it down, specifically
- 43:46Speaker 2: wrote it down because I wanted to address it. You know,
- 43:49Speaker 2: if you look at the Knicks historically, I've always said
- 43:52Speaker 2: this and I've kind of had my issues with it
- 43:54Speaker 2: because I'm older and I think about the traditional point guard,
- 43:57Speaker 2: but it's just not your dad's NBA anymore. It's just not.
- 44:00Speaker 2: And you got to just accept that. But When I
- 44:02Speaker 2: look at the point guard, I always think about you
- 44:04Speaker 2: come down, you set the table, and you get these
- 44:06Speaker 2: other folks. Can you see me? Okay. You get these
- 44:10Speaker 2: other folks involved in the game. Again, this old 80s basketball,
- 44:13Speaker 2: this is just the way that I grew up. So
- 44:15Speaker 2: that was the point guard's role. For years now, I
- 44:17Speaker 2: see that Jalen always gets going early. Like the first quarter,
- 44:20Speaker 2: he's going to have the most attempts, blah, blah, blah.
- 44:23Speaker 2: And it's the blueprint that we run with it, so
- 44:24Speaker 2: we can't say so much about it. Like you said earlier,
- 44:27Speaker 2: he makes– He makes tough shots. He makes these shots,
- 44:30Speaker 2: and he makes them, and you're not mad at him.
- 44:31Speaker 2: So you're like, oh, okay. So I got over that.
- 44:34Speaker 2: He's not that guy, and that's fine because we can
- 44:36Speaker 2: win with the blueprint. Yesterday, yesterday, for the first time,
- 44:40Speaker 2: I felt we really made it an effort to give
- 44:44Speaker 2: Carl the ball and have him serve as a distributor
- 44:46Speaker 2: from the top of the key or the top of
- 44:48Speaker 2: the elbow. And I'm watching the game early, and I
- 44:51Speaker 2: always knew this about it, and I watched it yesterday
- 44:53Speaker 2: actually happen, and it was upsetting to me. And what
- 44:56Speaker 2: that is is that we put Cat in that action
- 44:58Speaker 2: and we put him in those moments. If these wings
- 45:01Speaker 2: are not active, if they're cemented to the ground and
- 45:04Speaker 2: they're waiting for a kick out like it's old school
- 45:07Speaker 2: Tom Thibodeau basketball, it's not going to work. These guys
- 45:09Speaker 2: have to move. They can't sit situated because that's when
- 45:12Speaker 2: Carl starts dicing. There were times when you were watching
- 45:14Speaker 2: just Carl with the ball, holding it up, and five
- 45:16Speaker 2: seconds have gone by and it's nothing. And then finally
- 45:19Speaker 2: Josh makes it and it's like 10 seconds have gone
- 45:21Speaker 2: off the shot clock. And now Josh is the one
- 45:23Speaker 2: that's taking actions. When it's typically McHale or Oji beating
- 45:26Speaker 2: people back door, moving, and then Carl can do what
- 45:29Speaker 2: he does. They got to work on that a little
- 45:31Speaker 2: bit because that was tough to watch. I mean, sitting there,
- 45:34Speaker 2: he's got the ball up over his head. He's just
- 45:35Speaker 2: standing around and everybody's standing around. Nobody's moving it. These
- 45:37Speaker 2: guys don't cut. These guys aren't moving back door. They're
- 45:39Speaker 2: not making the defenders work and having the defenders lose
- 45:42Speaker 2: track of them and get those angles for the bounce
- 45:44Speaker 2: passes and everything else that comes from Carl. This is
- 45:47Speaker 2: not going to work. They have to have a commitment
- 45:49Speaker 2: to staying in motion when they're out there in this action.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Absolutely. I agree. And you know what?
- 45:55Speaker 2: The thing is, did you notice that sort of, I did.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Absolutely notice that there were times where there again. So, okay.
- 46:01Speaker 1: So a couple of things, Philly, LeBron is so smart.
- 46:04Speaker 1: You could see where LeBron was directing people. Once cat,
- 46:08Speaker 1: you know, was getting in that high post and getting
- 46:10Speaker 1: the ball. And like, even on that last play where
- 46:14Speaker 1: OG throws the ball away to maxi, which, you know,
- 46:16Speaker 1: basically the play that sealed the game. I could, I
- 46:18Speaker 1: was so, so pissed at OG with that. He throws
- 46:21Speaker 1: the ball away to maxi. It's LeBron's play and rotation
- 46:25Speaker 1: just before that that even make that possible. And so
- 46:31Speaker 1: that's the thing that is scary about this team is,
- 46:35Speaker 1: like I said, I think Nick Nurse is a fraud,
- 46:37Speaker 1: but I think LeBron is about as good as the
- 46:39Speaker 1: head coach as anybody in the NBA. So, you know,
- 46:41Speaker 1: he's going to have these guys in the right spots.
- 46:44Speaker 1: LeBron's the one that's in practice saying, like, listen, when
- 46:47Speaker 1: they run that shit with Kat, they're going to come
- 46:50Speaker 1: and they're going to do this with the screen. So we,
- 46:52Speaker 1: and they have a lot of switchable parts. Now we
- 46:56Speaker 1: have to especially punish them when like, you know, basically
- 47:01Speaker 1: anybody gets switched to OG and he gets down into
- 47:03Speaker 1: the paint. You got to give it to him every
- 47:06Speaker 1: single time. And I think the bridges has to be
- 47:10Speaker 1: a lot more aggressive off of the dribble. And I
- 47:13Speaker 1: know I saw talk about this and I saw them
- 47:15Speaker 1: try it a couple of times. I saw it some
- 47:16Speaker 1: more preseason and, We need Bridges to do a little
- 47:19Speaker 1: bit more, you know, of that action where he's running
- 47:21Speaker 1: a pick and roll with either a cat or a drumming. And,
- 47:24Speaker 1: you know, he's really looking to get into that mid
- 47:26Speaker 1: range and hunt that shot that we know he's so
- 47:28Speaker 1: good at. But it's like sometimes he's super aggressive at it.
- 47:31Speaker 1: And then there's sometimes like I saw at one point
- 47:34Speaker 1: last night in the game where it almost seemed like
- 47:36Speaker 1: somebody had said to him, yo, we need you to,
- 47:39Speaker 1: you know, be a little bit more aggressive. And then
- 47:41Speaker 1: he took one that like it just, you know, it was.
- 47:44Speaker 1: it wasn't aggressive. Like he didn't feel, it wasn't in
- 47:46Speaker 1: his flow. It wasn't him being like, when he's hot
- 47:49Speaker 1: and he feels good, he's got a whole different bounce
- 47:52Speaker 1: to him and he's getting to that spot and he's
- 47:53Speaker 1: off one foot or he's, you know, he's leaning in
- 47:56Speaker 1: off the glass. Like he's got all this array of shots,
- 47:59Speaker 1: but then there's sometimes where it just goes away. And
- 48:01Speaker 1: then there's sometimes where he forces it a little bit
- 48:03Speaker 1: and it can't be option B or C. We need
- 48:06Speaker 1: him to be aggressive. Like to me, in my opinion,
- 48:09Speaker 1: if I was both Jalen Brunson and Mike Brown, in
- 48:14Speaker 1: the first quarter, my goal would be to get Bridges going.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Because if he's going, you can't beat us.
- 48:22Speaker 2: It's such a funny thing right now because and this
- 48:25Speaker 2: is fan chatter. I don't want to give it weight,
- 48:28Speaker 2: but I can't help but mention it because there was
- 48:30Speaker 2: so much discourse about it on the timeline where, and
- 48:33Speaker 2: it's opening game, you don't want to overreact to one loss.
- 48:39Speaker 2: It's fine, right? It's fine.
- 48:40Speaker 1: It happens, whatever.
- 48:41Speaker 2: But when you hear about OG creating his own shot.
- 48:47Speaker 2: He's going to be an all-star. Or Mikael could be
- 48:49Speaker 2: an all-star. There's going to be a third all-star from
- 48:51Speaker 2: his wings. I don't really see it. And I don't
- 48:54Speaker 2: want to be the bad guy. But OG had an
- 48:56Speaker 2: amazing year last year. And I'm not saying he's going
- 48:58Speaker 2: to reduce or regress in any kind of way. I
- 49:02Speaker 2: think he's kind of at what he is. But I
- 49:04Speaker 2: don't expect him to become LeBron on the break with
- 49:07Speaker 2: the basketball. And I don't expect that from Mikael either.
- 49:10Speaker 2: And I think last night you kind of saw the
- 49:12Speaker 2: worst versions of them at the wing where they can
- 49:16Speaker 2: be tentative. They can't be kind of shy you don't
- 49:17Speaker 2: really get the best i mean i think og was
- 49:19Speaker 2: like two for seven or something and every time he
- 49:21Speaker 2: had the ball it just i don't know it didn't
- 49:23Speaker 2: look fluid which is the one thing i hate about
- 49:25Speaker 2: him he never really looks fluid now he can still
- 49:27Speaker 2: give you something there's so much athleticism there when he
- 49:29Speaker 2: goes vertical he makes things happen so you have to
- 49:32Speaker 2: deal with man he's a load he's a big man
- 49:34Speaker 2: he gets into the paint you got to deal with
- 49:35Speaker 2: him but you know, you just heard these conversations over
- 49:38Speaker 2: the summer, but he's going to be an all-star in
- 49:39Speaker 2: the cinema. I think we were kind of focused about
- 49:42Speaker 2: the wrong thing. Cause right now you just want to
- 49:43Speaker 2: get them to dribble the ball and, and create shots
- 49:46Speaker 2: in the paint.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Absolutely. And we definitely think that, you know, obviously we're
- 49:50Speaker 1: not going to see much more of that at OG
- 49:52Speaker 1: and OG is a guy who does expand his bag
- 49:54Speaker 1: every single year. So I do think that the all-star
- 49:56Speaker 1: thing is a possibility, especially with him getting some more
- 49:58Speaker 1: notoriety last year with the finals run that he had.
- 50:00Speaker 1: But yeah, man, Hey, We had Nick Nader in here.
- 50:03Speaker 1: We appreciate you coming in and checking us out and
- 50:06Speaker 1: definitely being our correspondent from the garden, telling us everything.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Is there anything that you want to shout out or
- 50:11Speaker 1: anything that you want to get off your chest before
- 50:13Speaker 1: you get out of here?
- 50:14Speaker 2: No, listen, I want to thank you for the opportunity.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Anytime that we can collab and work like this, I'll
- 50:18Speaker 2: be happy to come on and hop on your show.
- 50:20Speaker 2: I do appreciate you for inviting me. And just as
- 50:23Speaker 2: far as any, I have, I have eventually, I want
- 50:25Speaker 2: to kind of get this docudrama documentary out. Life of
- 50:29Speaker 2: a diehard. It's basically all of my, I never intended
- 50:32Speaker 2: this to be like a documentary style thing, but since
- 50:35Speaker 2: we won a championship and I was going through all
- 50:36Speaker 2: of the footage I have, and it's like five years
- 50:38Speaker 2: of footage, I want to put this documentary together of
- 50:41Speaker 2: the five-year climb from when we went tanking to all
- 50:44Speaker 2: the way to winning the championship. So look out for that,
- 50:48Speaker 2: Life of a Diehard, Nick and Ada. Hopefully that'll be
- 50:50Speaker 2: out by this year.
- 50:51Speaker 1: All right, man. I'm going to be on you to
- 50:53Speaker 1: go ahead and make that happen because I've been hearing
- 50:54Speaker 1: about it and I want to see it myself. So
- 50:56Speaker 1: let's go ahead and make that happen. But yeah, man,
- 50:59Speaker 1: as always, always a pleasure. Whenever you have the time,
- 51:01Speaker 1: you're always welcome here. All right, brother. Have a good one.
- 51:04Speaker 3: All right.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Thank you, man.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Bye-bye.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Yeah. So, yeah, like I said, as always, yeah, love
- 51:11Speaker 1: Nick Nader. Love having him on. Make sure you go
- 51:14Speaker 1: over to X and follow him. It's at Nick Nader.
- 51:18Speaker 1: It's right there on the screen. And he is definitely
- 51:22Speaker 1: somebody that we just appreciate over here. And he's a
- 51:26Speaker 1: heavyweight when it comes to Nick's Twitter. and obvious season
- 51:29Speaker 1: ticket holder. He says that when I come out there,
- 51:31Speaker 1: that second seat is mine. So we are going to
- 51:33Speaker 1: hold him to that for sure. Uh, bomb as a,
- 51:36Speaker 1: as an outsider watching, uh, last night's game, uh, you know, Nick's, um,
- 51:41Speaker 1: versus Sixers on ring night. What were your feelings on it?
- 51:44Speaker 1: Anything to add?
- 51:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 51:46Speaker 3: So the ceremony itself was just awesome.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Like it, it was really cool.
- 51:52Speaker 3: It, It brought me back to when the Giants won
- 51:54Speaker 3: their first world title and just watching that whole thing
- 51:57Speaker 3: and going through it.
- 51:58Speaker 4: It was so sick.
- 51:59Speaker 3: It was so well done. Having, you know, Clyde Frazier
- 52:02Speaker 3: out there handing the rings was just, it was really dope.
- 52:05Speaker 3: From a gameplay standpoint, I know you and I talked
- 52:07Speaker 3: a little bit during the game. I thought Drummond was incredible.
- 52:12Speaker 3: I thought the starters were lagging a little bit. I
- 52:14Speaker 3: thought there was a little hangover there. The ball seemed
- 52:16Speaker 3: to stagnate a little bit offensively. But the second unit
- 52:20Speaker 3: came on, got the second unit on. That ball was zipping.
- 52:23Speaker 3: They had a lot more jump. They had a lot
- 52:25Speaker 3: more jam. And, yeah, Drummond just did his thing and
- 52:29Speaker 3: gave them just incredible minutes to give them a chance
- 52:32Speaker 3: to win that game despite the slow start and everything.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Philly didn't start that great either. They were not as sluggish. But, yeah,
- 52:42Speaker 3: so there was that. And then, yeah, third quarter, obviously
- 52:45Speaker 3: things fell apart. But that was almost a Josh Hart
- 52:47Speaker 3: court there for a while. The way it started, I
- 52:50Speaker 3: thought he was going to take over the game.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Josh played great.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that third quarter, he was fantastic. But I also
- 52:56Speaker 3: want to echo your thoughts about Maxie. That dude is
- 52:59Speaker 3: a problem. He was the one guy on either team
- 53:05Speaker 3: just locked in from the jump. He was absolutely cooking early.
- 53:09Speaker 3: But I will say– The funniest moment of the entire
- 53:11Speaker 3: game was when he completely ran over Brunson for that charge,
- 53:15Speaker 3: and he thought it wasn't a charge. I'm like, are
- 53:17Speaker 3: you kidding? Like, dude, you just absolutely freight-trained the guy.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, one thing that I did take from
- 53:24Speaker 1: last night's game, and, you know, I know a whole
- 53:26Speaker 1: lot of people always say, oh, I don't want to
- 53:27Speaker 1: make it about the refs. Well, wait till we talk
- 53:29Speaker 1: about Patriots-Jets here in a little bit. I'm going to
- 53:30Speaker 1: make it some more about the refs. Fuck fucking all refs,
- 53:33Speaker 1: and I hate all refs. I don't even like, you know,
- 53:36Speaker 1: zebras as an animal because they remind me of refs.
- 53:38Speaker 1: And so to me, my thing is, is like, you know,
- 53:43Speaker 1: I thought that, you know, winning a championship just might,
- 53:46Speaker 1: just might get, you know, Carl Anthony Towns and Jalen
- 53:50Speaker 1: Brunson a slightly more favorable whistle. But I guess not.
- 53:53Speaker 1: That's not going to happen. Going to be a long season, obviously.
- 53:56Speaker 1: You know, we play Boston on Friday. The Knicks season
- 53:59Speaker 1: at the beginning is an absolute murderer's row. So, you know,
- 54:03Speaker 1: you got to be, you know, you just got, they
- 54:05Speaker 1: got to be on top of their game. And they
- 54:07Speaker 1: can't have too many nights like opening night. Like I said,
- 54:09Speaker 1: both teams had a tough night. I mean, you know,
- 54:12Speaker 1: 105 to 100. I mean, how often are you seeing
- 54:15Speaker 1: scores like that in today's NBA? 106 to 100, I
- 54:18Speaker 1: should say. But, yeah, so obviously both teams had a
- 54:21Speaker 1: tough time, especially shooting the ball. But overall, we had
- 54:25Speaker 1: a very, very good night overall as a Knicks fan. And,
- 54:31Speaker 1: you know, we put one in the rafters. And, you know,
- 54:34Speaker 1: we got our rings and, you know, now it's time
- 54:37Speaker 1: to go back and repeat. And I'm sure that both
- 54:41Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson and Mike Brown and a lot of the
- 54:43Speaker 1: other guys are, you know, they're in the lab right
- 54:47Speaker 1: now looking at some things that we did wrong. And
- 54:49Speaker 1: we got to be a little bit better with the
- 54:51Speaker 1: ball and just stronger with the ball. Twenty two turnovers
- 54:53Speaker 1: is way too many. We got to be more tight
- 54:56Speaker 1: with our defense and we got to execute better down
- 54:58Speaker 1: the stretch. And I think the Knicks will get it
- 55:00Speaker 1: figured out and they'll get that done. Um, moving on the, so,
- 55:05Speaker 1: so one thing that I know a lot of, uh,
- 55:08Speaker 1: Yankees fans cannot be too happy about is that it's
- 55:11Speaker 1: come out in the last week that both Aaron Boone
- 55:13Speaker 1: and Brian Cashman are both being brought back. Uh, I
- 55:17Speaker 1: know that a lot of Yankee fans, I really don't
- 55:20Speaker 1: know any Yankee fans personally in my life. And I
- 55:22Speaker 1: know a lot of Yankee fans that are like, oh,
- 55:25Speaker 1: I love these guys. They're great. Like, you know, like,
- 55:27Speaker 1: there's nobody out there, you know, beating that drum. The, ah, man,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I just, you know, I love these guys so much.
- 55:36Speaker 1: So I know that all of you Yankee fans out
- 55:40Speaker 1: there are probably not too happy about it. I don't
- 55:43Speaker 1: see it changing anytime soon. I mean, what is Boone
- 55:47Speaker 1: going to do or Cashman's going to do that's going
- 55:49Speaker 1: to make ownership when I get rid of these guys
- 55:52Speaker 1: who are, you know, certified flunkies and want to, make
- 55:56Speaker 1: sure that they do whatever, you know, they just, they
- 55:59Speaker 1: just seem to toe the line and that's what ownership wants.
- 56:01Speaker 1: So that's what you're stuck with Yankee fans. The world
- 56:04Speaker 1: series is now just a straight up, you know, small
- 56:09Speaker 1: market teams that live on the margins that don't sign
- 56:13Speaker 1: huge free agents who have crazy, crazy, you know, successful
- 56:19Speaker 1: farm system scouting. And my question for you bomb is
- 56:24Speaker 1: what does that do for, for the owners when it
- 56:29Speaker 1: comes to negotiations, when it comes to the collective bargaining agreement,
- 56:33Speaker 1: you know, coming up this summer?
- 56:35Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to pour one out for the poverty
- 56:38Speaker 3: franchises really quick. And to go back, before I go
- 56:42Speaker 3: into the lockout part, I did want to echo the
- 56:44Speaker 3: Yankee sentiment part about Cashman and Boone getting extended. I
- 56:47Speaker 3: think every Yankee fan I've talked to today feels like
- 56:50Speaker 3: they just got punched in the stomach. Yeah, that's basically
- 56:55Speaker 3: what it's like. But, yeah, in terms of the lockout,
- 56:58Speaker 3: I still think they're.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Going to push for a salary cap.
- 57:01Speaker 3: They're going to do whatever they can to try and
- 57:04Speaker 3: push the big spending teams down. Kind of like what
- 57:05Speaker 3: happened in basketball a couple years ago with the luxury.
- 57:08Speaker 4: Tax, and that was only a thing.
- 57:09Speaker 3: And then they had these tax aprons. But, you know,
- 57:13Speaker 3: they did that in baseball four years ago, too. They
- 57:16Speaker 3: had the Uncle Stevie ring of the luxury tax. So
- 57:20Speaker 3: I still think the owner is going to push for
- 57:22Speaker 3: a cap. The players are going to die on the
- 57:24Speaker 3: hill of not having it. They don't want it. And
- 57:26Speaker 3: it's just, yeah, it's going to be ugly. But it
- 57:30Speaker 3: is good to see, you.
- 57:31Speaker 4: Know, the Brewers and Rays in this thing.
- 57:34Speaker 3: I would say the likability factors of both teams are
- 57:37Speaker 3: very high. Like, both teams have star power in their
- 57:40Speaker 3: own little way. Like, the Rays have it at the plate.
- 57:43Speaker 3: The Brewers have it on the mound, really, and one
- 57:46Speaker 3: guy kind of offensively in Shurio. And then you obviously
- 57:49Speaker 3: have Miz pitching, who's, you know, pumping 105 every day.
- 57:53Speaker 3: which is crazy. And then, you know, the Rays, you got,
- 57:55Speaker 3: you know, your headline by Junior Cabanero, just absolute breakout
- 57:59Speaker 3: stud at 22. And then, you know, also Yanni Diaz,
- 58:03Speaker 3: older guy, but one of the most underrated star players
- 58:06Speaker 3: in baseball, I feel. So, and both teams just, they're
- 58:11Speaker 3: carbon copies of each other. Very similar.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I will tell you this.
- 58:15Speaker 4: That's good hitting.
- 58:17Speaker 1: As, as somebody who, I, I pay attention to baseball. Clearly,
- 58:24Speaker 1: I pay attention to it, which is why I'm so
- 58:25Speaker 1: good at fantasy baseball. But I'm not rabid about baseball
- 58:32Speaker 1: like I am, say, about basketball when it comes to
- 58:35Speaker 1: outside of the Mets. I have so little interest in
- 58:41Speaker 1: this World Series. And I think the ratings are going
- 58:45Speaker 1: to be all-time horrible.
- 58:46Speaker 4: They're going to be bad.
- 58:48Speaker 1: And I think that the... The argument is twofold from
- 58:54Speaker 1: the players. First and foremost, you can't tell me that
- 58:58Speaker 1: we need parity when it comes to spending because look
- 59:02Speaker 1: at the World Series that we have. Secondly, yo, y'all
- 59:07Speaker 1: don't want the LA's or the New York's or the
- 59:11Speaker 1: Chicago's of the world in the world series, because look
- 59:14Speaker 1: at these ratings that we just had last year. I think,
- 59:17Speaker 1: you know, I think that's two things that are going
- 59:19Speaker 1: to be interesting, you know, from the player's side. So yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll, we'll see, you know, obviously we're
- 59:25Speaker 1: hoping for, as much as I say, I'm not super
- 59:27Speaker 1: interested in, I'll definitely be checking scores and late in games.
- 59:31Speaker 1: If it's close, I'll be watching for sure. And then
- 59:33Speaker 1: if the series gets some compelling moments, that can get
- 59:39Speaker 1: me pulled in for sure. I mean, shit, any sport
- 59:42Speaker 1: can do that to me with the right amount of drama.
- 59:46Speaker 1: But we'll see with that. One thing that I want
- 59:49Speaker 1: to touch on real quick. about Cat and then Dolan
- 59:57Speaker 1: before we move on and talk a little bit of football. So,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: obviously we've had a huge... back and forth throughout the
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: preseason and training camp between Kat saying that he wants
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: to be back. I don't know if you caught the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: interview that was with him and Brunson yesterday where Brunson
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: told him to sign the contract. I think the fact
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: that they're joking about it that much. Kat acknowledging clearly
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: that he wants to Malik Lee Andrews, that he absolutely
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: wants to be back and that he is willing to
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: take less money. Obviously, there's a gap right there, right?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the fact that they're willing to joke about it like
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: that to me makes me feel like it's not that
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: big of a deal, but nobody else is saying this,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: but me, but I need your opinion bomb. And this is,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: this one's a little bit out there.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Maybe I should, I should probably go grab the tinfoil
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: fitted for this one, but what if cat and Dolan?
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Now let's not forget Carl Anthony towns is the vice
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: president of the players union. What if cat and Dolan
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: behind the scenes is, are actually making this all play
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: out so that they can bring light and bring overall
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: pressure to the current system and the second apron. Because
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: you know who doesn't like the second apron? The players
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: and owners with teams that generate the type of money
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: like James Dolan does. And see, I have been saying, well,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: it's not about the money. Stop making it about the money.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: It's about maneuverability. But now... And I got to give
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: credit to, I think it was Ian Begley who was
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: the first person who explained this in a way that
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: kind of changed my thinking on it. It's not necessarily
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: that Dolan doesn't want to spend the extra money. It's
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: the fact that that extra money that he spends now
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: gets revenue shared with all these other poverty franchises. See,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: now that to me makes a whole lot more sense
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: where Dolan's like, man, fuck all that. We can spend
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: all this extra bread and I just got to give
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: it to all these other motherfuckers. And I could see
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: why that would bother a Dolan quite a bit. And
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: I could see maybe him and Kat getting together, him
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: management being like, listen, we're going to get this done.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: We're going to figure it out. But you don't like this.
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: I don't like this. Let's put a little bit of
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: heat on the situation and let's talk about it and
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: talk about the lunacy and the hypocrisy of it all.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: And I don't know. I know it's kind of far
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: out there. It's kind of far-fetched. But it just doesn't
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: make sense to me That Cat, a guy who Leon
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Rose was his agent, that clearly they have a great relationship.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: And that Leon Rose, since he's been with the Knicks,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: has run this ship so tight and there's never any leaks.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: There's never any negotiating through the media or anything like that.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: That's something that has not happened throughout this entire tenure.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: So Cat cared that much about the way that he
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: feels on this, that he thinks that he's going to
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: put pressure on Dolan By talking about it in the media,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: that doesn't add up to me. I'm telling you, I'm
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: telling you. I think that Cat and Dolan are working
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: together and they are trolling all of us.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: You know, normally I'd tell you you're fucking crazy, but
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: I actually think there's a little substance here. Because, you know,
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: it's not only just the teams that spend money who
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: hate the second apron. You have teams like the Thunder
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: who hate the second apron now. They draft, develop, they
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: have dudes. there that they have to get rid of
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: because of the damn thing. And it's like, you know,
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: we see that we said this, you know, more than
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: enough times on the show, but getting into the second
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: apron is literally like operating on a straight jacket. Like
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: you can't do shit. If you're in that, if you're
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: in that tax, or if you're in that luxury tax bracket.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: In the NBA.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: So I actually don't really hate this take at all.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: I still think Kat seems happy as hell in New York.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Like winning a championship in New York is different than
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: winning a championship anywhere else. Like it just is like
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: you win titles and Nick it's different. Like you're looked
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: at very different in so many different ways. Even just
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: going to New York and being on an, on the
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Knicks is very different. You do what you did this
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: past summer. It's a whole lot of other level. So
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: I don't see why cat would leave. And also, you know,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: Brunson set the precedent by taking less money. So I
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: don't think they're as far off as the media is saying,
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: and I wouldn't be shocked if they are kind of
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: working behind the scenes to, you know, say, The other
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: issue is the salary gap. It just doesn't go up
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: very much. It's agreed upon, which is also really fucking
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: stupid to have just basically a 10% raise every year.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: If you remember the summer of 15-16 when that initial
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: TV deal came in, the $ 24 billion one, they had
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: the cap boom, and that's what ultimately enabled player salaries
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: to start going crazy. That's what enabled the Warriors to
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: get the ramp. was that cap boom and that's what
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: they want to prevent. So this is the consequences of that.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no doubt. No doubt. Everything you said is
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: a dead on. It'll be interesting to see, you know,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: what happens in the next collective bargaining agreement with the
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: NBA and the second apron and, you know, how that
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: all continues to just get figured out and how the
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: money gets distributed. I mean, obviously another new TV deal
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: will happen at some point and that'll change everything. But
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I definitely think there might be something going on behind
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: the scenes and maybe some sort of wink wink thing
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: between Kat and Dolan. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: because I hope that they're not, you know, actually at
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: odds and really annoyed by the entire situation. I will
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: give Dolan credit. He you know, I didn't love the
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: fact that I heard that Dolan was a little bit
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: annoyed about the fact that Kat even came out and
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: said that it didn't come directly from Dolan, but it
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: was a report out there. And for a while, we
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: didn't hear any reports about Dolan. And I would love
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: for it to just continue that way as long as possible.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: One of my biggest fears is that after winning this championship,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Dolan is starting to feel himself a little bit. Talking
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: to Nick and Nader earlier, actually, before the pod, he
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: was telling me how they used to, as part of
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: being a season ticket holder, you also got a membership
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: to League Pass. They don't do that anymore. I saw
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: at least one other thing that somebody was talking about
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: as far as going to the garden yesterday and like
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: a perk that they used to have with their tickets
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: that they no longer have anymore. Dolan, you can't be
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: that stupid, can you? To be like, okay, now we won.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: So I'm going to fucking start tightening the screws and
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: try to like bleed everybody dry and get as much
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: money as possible. I just, I have a hard time
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: believing he could be that stupid. But then also when
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: you look at Dolan and some of his affiliations and
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: people that, you know, he supports and or endorses, In
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: New York and nationally, is there a chance that, you know,
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: his mindset is that he wants to get every last
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: penny and bleed the small guy dry? There's some connections there.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: But hopefully that's not the case. I'm going to continue
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: to try and be optimistic as always and look forward
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: to the rest of this next season.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Back to, or let's talk a little bit of football.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: So the Jets, they lost to the Patriots. I was thinking, ah, man,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: the Jets got a real chance to, you know, do
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: something here, end up being, you know, 5-3. Now, hopefully,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I'm hoping they can be 4-4 after a couple games.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: But the Jets come out. They play pretty decent. You know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: at this point, it's Wednesday. We're not going to get
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: too deep into the breaking down of the game. But honestly, like,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I thought that a couple calls early in the game
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: in the first half really changed the entire landscape of
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the game. You have an offensive pass interference that is
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: called on Patrick that nullified a touchdown from Omar Cooper. Cooper,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: by the way, Omar Cooper Jr., you know, if he's
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: on the field, he's a difference maker. You know, this
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: guy was the best receiver on the best team in
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: college football last year. He was a guy that we
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: got at the end of the first round and he
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: had a huge play. in game one before he got
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: the high ankle sprain. And then he ends up having
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: a touchdown called back. He ends up catching another touchdown later,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: you know, had a, had a, had a strong game
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: and we definitely need him to stay healthy and stay
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: on the field because he provides a safety valve. Um,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: that is not Garrett Wilson. And he preside provides a
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: little bit different, a little bit more of a yak guy,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: a little bit more of an underneath guy, as opposed
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: to the over the top or the deep threat, like
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: a Wilson is, or just across the field threat like
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Wilson is. So, Definitely that play killed us. And then
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: there was another play that led to a Patriots touchdown
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: where Will McDonald is, I mean, just clearly held. And
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: that's not called. And that's a 14-point swing. Now, Jets,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: there's a whole lot of things that we could have
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: done better to be able to win that game. But
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: I really would have liked to see what would have happened,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: you know, without those calls going against us. And, I mean,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: throughout the game, there was some just questionable officiating, right?
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: in general seems like no matter what doesn't matter who
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: the coach is who the quarterback is or it seems
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: like the patriots always on the right end of all
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: the calls but um garrett wilson shout out to him
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: man um he is just he seems like the I mean,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: obviously you know his talent on the field, but he
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: seems like he's a great guy. He seems like he's
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: a leader. He seems like he's somebody that, you know,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: you want to be the cornerstone of your franchise. I
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: saw something the other day that, you know, some sort
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: of formula that it factored in the offense and specifically
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: the quarterback that you play with, and it has Garrett
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Wilson as the best quarterback of the last three years.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Considering that he's consistently able to put up seasons like
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: this where he's over 1,000 yards, you know, a hundred
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: catches and, you know, a premier receiver with the quarterback
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: play that he's had. It's pretty, pretty remarkable, man. You really,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: really got to give this guy some credit and such
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: a great guy as well. There was a young lady
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: who she works for Garrett Wilson's dad, and they came
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to Chicago for the, the game. And Garrett was apologizing
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: to her after the game, because, you know, it just
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: didn't play well. We were worst game of the season.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Probably we got blown out by the bears and, you know,
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: their backup quarterback. And, and, The young lady who was
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: at the game, she was going through something where she
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: had lost a best friend. She'd stopped attending school. And
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: she met Garrett and just the overall just spirit that he,
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: you know, shared with her and the way that he,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: you know, interacted with her. You know, she's turned her
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: life around, you know, pulled herself out of whatever situation
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: she was dealing with before. So I just really hope
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: that this guy finds a way to be a jet
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: for life for sure. And that the jets at this point,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: we have them signed long-term. He's got $ 90 million guaranteed,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: you know, coming to him. The jets just have to
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: stay good enough that he doesn't get to the point
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: where he's like, I demand a trade. The jets have
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: to continue to stack and stay on a trajectory where
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: he doesn't feel like I got to get out of here.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: And so, you know, that is adding other receivers like
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: this guy, Omar Cooper. That is, you know, obviously in
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: the tight end room with Sadiq and with Mason Taylor,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: if we can get everybody just, you know, on the
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: field at the same time and healthy, we got a
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: chance to be an offense that can do something. Gino,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: everybody has to say, if you're a Jet fan, he's
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: playing as good as you possibly think he could. And
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: he's got to get the ball out of his hand
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: a little bit more. He's got to be a little
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: bit more judicious with his handling of the ball in
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: some of the more big spots. But overall, every Jet
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: fan has to be thrilled with what we've gotten out
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: of Gino Smith so far. And then at the running
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: back position, speaking of guys staying healthy, Brees... hasn't played,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: but at this point, Jets fans, I have to ask you,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: is Braylon Allen better than Brees Hall? Yo, you look
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: at some of the statistics and you just look at
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: the way that he runs, he hits the hole a
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: whole lot quicker. He makes people, or at least he
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: gets yards out of after contact at a much higher
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: rate than Brees Hall. There was a time where you
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: saw Braylon being a little bit, you know, I think
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: somewhat tentative, maybe thinking too much out there. But these
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: last couple games, you've seen Braylon really get behind his pads,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: and it seems like he never gets brought down by
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: the first guy. And it's not just like he's pushing
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: him and dragging him. He's sometimes leaving that guy and
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: going on getting to the next level and punishing that
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: guy too. And late in games, you can tell the
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: guys do not want to get in front of him. And,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: you know, especially– You know, if he's going to continue
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: to develop as a receiver, you have to continue to
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: make sure that this guy is a big part of
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: the offense. And I know that Brees just got his money.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: But especially in some of these games where you got
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: bad weather and you got a big guy who came
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: out of Wisconsin, who's strong and who punishes defenders, is
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: that more effective? And if it's more effective, then he's
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: the better running back. I don't think many people want
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: to really put a stamp on that just yet. But
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: if you've watched these last couple games as a Jets fan,
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: it's a conversation. That's for sure. So, you know, Jets
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: this week, they play Miami, have to win that game.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: Just point blank period, have to win that game. Miami
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: has been an absolute dumpster fire this year. And then
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: the game after that, they get the Raiders, which, I mean,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: How about Kirk Cousins, man? That guy, you got to
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: give him credit, man. He just continues to come out.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: And it's not just like he's some steady game manager
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: type quarterback. That dude is making throws. As long as
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: you've got an offensive line and you can keep him upright,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: he's still a real problem to deal with in this league.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: And now with him playing the way that he is,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: you have to ask yourself, Especially if they're still in the,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: you know, overall running for it. Does the number one pick,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: does he get, does Fernandez, does he give any type of, like,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: run this year? Or is he just a spectator?
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Kirk is absolutely swinging it. I don't know if
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: you saw that garbage time touchdown he threw on Sunday
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: at the end of the game for the backdoor cover. Man,
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: that was vintage Kirk right there. That was just a
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: 40-yard dot. Yeah.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: Um, yeah.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: As long as the Raiders are contending, you have to
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: go with cousins. He's giving you a chance to win
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: pretty much every single week. Sam, the Patriots game right now,
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: you have to stick with him. He's been very good.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: Although the one very interesting sad about the Raiders at
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: three and three, because they obviously tailed off a little
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: bit since that three start, they have the same amount
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: of points allowed and points for so perfectly mid, so
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: to speak. Um, I also did want to go back
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: to Garrett Wilson really quick. Um, He is number one
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: in the NFL right now in ESPN's open score, which
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: measures a receiver separation. And then he's also number one
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: in the league right now in catch rate over expected.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Don't know entirely what that means, but it basically is
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: how often a receiver makes a catch compared to the
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: statistical probability of the play. So yeah, I'll put it
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: all together. It means he's pretty fucking good.
- 1:15:21Speaker 5: Yeah, man.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Yeah, love G5 for sure. And look, like I said,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: take care of business this next week. And then if
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: you can figure out a way to beat the Raiders,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: your 4-4, every single Jets fan in the world would
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: have signed up for that preseason. And at the end
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: of the day, there was times where I have definitely
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: questioned Aaron Glenn and whether or not he's the guy.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: I think that this team, the competitiveness that this team
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: shows this year whether just in the way that they
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: play and the fact that they're in some of these
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: games late, you know, it's definitely improvement over last season.
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: Absolutely is. And, you know, he has to continue to
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: improve as like a clock and a game manager. And
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: he has to, you know, continue to put the defense
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: in situations where that's the thing. This defense hasn't got
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: to play with a lead very much. That's as a
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: defensive coordinator, as a defensive play caller, where you're able
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: to really, really, you know, do your thing. And so
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: some of that is on the offense to put them
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: in that position. But one of the things that Glenn
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: has to do that, you know, we've seen a lot
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: of Jets coaches not be able to do because we,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: over the last decade or so, continue to get defensive
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: guys is, hey, I know you're the defensive guy. You
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: got to either get the people in place or you
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: got to have some sort of impact on how the
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: offense plays And we got to be a little bit
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: better at, you know, creating advantageous situations. Real quick before
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: we move on and.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: We talk a little bit. What's going on? The good
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: news for A.G. right now is he is not the
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: one coach in the league having to deal with game
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: management issues or under heat for his game management. That
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: award right now goes to one Dan Quinn.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Quinn's got to go. He's got to go.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: My goodness.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: You can't make those mistakes. And honestly, when it comes
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: to Daniels, when it comes to Jaden Daniels, I'd like
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: him to be able to be more aware and be
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: able to handle these situations by himself. But as I
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: was talking to my boy Raleigh, who's a huge Commanders fan,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: and he was saying the other day, we're not even
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: in these games if it's not for him. And he's
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: like the best quarterback prospect that we've had in forever,
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: if not ever. And so, you know, you figure it
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: out with him. With him, you figure it out. And
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: like my boy Raleigh said, he said, you know, Quinn
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: doesn't call plays on either side of the ball. So
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: he's literally just a time manager and a vibes guy.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: And right now the vibes are very low. Around the
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: league right now in the NBA, I did see before
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: that the Timberwolves were able to pull away 131 to 106.
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Giannis looked great in that game. The Wolves looked great
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: in that game. I think Timberwolves are a serious problem, man.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: The Knicks played them in one preseason game. If they're
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: able to really turn it up on the defensive end,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: they are going to be a serious problem. You have
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: Ant tonight had a whopping 45 on 16 of 29,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: 10 boards, 3 assists. I mean, Jesus. Ant went off.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: And then Lonzo, 21 points, 6 assists. Gobert, 15 boards.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Kaminga with 12 on an efficient 5 of 10. McDaniels
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: with 17. And then Dasunmu had 16 off the bench. Yo, man,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: I'm telling you, they're a problem. Giannis looked great. In
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: his debut, 35 points, 13 of 19. When you're 13
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: of 19, I need you to shoot 25, 30 times
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: if you're shooting like that. Come on, man. We need
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: more Giannis. I think that the thing that we're going
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: to see, Giannis, I think, is currently playing with the
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: best coach that he's ever played with. It's going to
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: be interesting to see how Eric Spolstra just goes out
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: of his way to make things as easy as possible
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: and stack the deck for Giannis. We're going to see
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: certain things from Giannis that we've never seen before. Because
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: I think Spaltra is that smart and that good. I
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: think the Heat are going to be pretty good this year.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: They need a little bit more shooting, I think. I
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: think that that's going to be something that might be
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: a bit of a deficiency for them. But, you know,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Giannis full head of steam is just as hard to
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: deal with as he always is. Looking through some of
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: these other scores, nothing's great. Hawks beat the Magic by seven.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: High scoring game, 132-125. Mavericks are getting rocked right now
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: by the Rockets. Raptors smack the Bulls. The Raptors scare me.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: If the Raptors are healthy come playoff time, that's a
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: scary matchup for the Knicks and for anybody. Scottie Barnes
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: leveled up. I'm seeing Scottie Barnes hunt little mini fadeaways
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: and hit them shits. And obviously, we know what Kawhi
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: can do. The biggest thing is going to be, can
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: you get Kawhi to the postseason healthy? But the Raptors
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: scare me. Last night, you have OKC versus the Spurs.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Wembley's got a problem. And that problem's name is Mara.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: Is it Mara or Mara?
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: It's Adi Mara.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Mara, okay.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: Yeah, out of your other beloved Michigan Wolverines. But yeah,
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: Mara had him in hell last night.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: Yo, he not used to somebody who's that big, who's
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: got some foot speed, who ain't scared, and now you
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: got him or you got Chet on the floor.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: Chet leveled up a bit last night, too.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Well, check out, Chet has no, he had no choice.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: He got punked last year, so he had to come
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: out here. He had to, I mean, you know, listen,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: you don't get to be that level of athlete without
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: having some ego and without having some, you know, some, some,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: some moxie about you. So the fact that, you know,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: the entire basketball world was talking about the fact that
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: he got, you know, punked by Wendy last year, you
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: knew he was going to come correct. And I think also,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: you know, people around the league that watched the finals
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: last year and saw the way that cat Carl Anthony
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: towns didn't back down from him was wolfing at him
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: and all that shit that they know that like, yo, this,
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: not only is this dude, not, It's not just that
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: he is not invincible. You've got to go at him.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: The Knicks won that by Gatt, first of all, being
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: willing to go at him, and then Brunson hunting him.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: So the whole league understands that now. Shea is going
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: to Shea. He looked fantastic yesterday. Shea butter. You know,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: just footwork, jump shot, all the things. All the things. But, yo,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Webby has a problem. It was chippy. Oh, it was
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: more than chippy.
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: Yeah, it was great.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: That was some 90s type shit. De'Aaron Fox deciding to, like,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: slam somebody, everybody.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: He threw down Chet.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Right, Chet, come on, man. This guy's fucking, he's half
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: your size, Chet. Like, stop letting people do shit like
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: that to you.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: You know, Chet's.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: Yes, yes.
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: But, you know.
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Chet, Chet, sooner or later, he's going to have to
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: elbow somebody in the face or some shit.
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: Even if you catch a suspension, just to let these
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: motherfuckers know. Listen, if that's what you're doing, I bet.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You can't just continue to
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: let these motherfuckers, you know, just do shit like that
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: to you. But I think that Chet will be better
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: for everything that happened last season. He'll be better for that.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: I've always liked Chet. I like his game. Is he
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: a little bit too much of a string bean? Yes.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: You can't, again, he's another one of those players that
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: don't ask too much of him. And he's great. You
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: ask a little bit too much and then, you know,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: obviously things can get a little bit, you know, the light.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Don't don't don't turn the lights up for him too much. Oh,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I've totally before we I want to ask you a
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: question about the Warriors. But before we move on to that,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: what do you think about the Giants starting J.J. McCarthy?
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: J.J.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: McCarthy comes in late in the game. Obviously, you know,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: James James is going to do some dumb shit as
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: he did. He's throwing the ball away. McCarthy comes in,
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: doesn't have a great completion percentage, but he has a
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: ton of yards in the fourth quarter, brings the Giants
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: back into the game. If you were, you know, if
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: you're the Giants moving forward, do you think like that's
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: the best move for them is say, all right, let's
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: see what we got out of JJ McCarthy, because it's
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: not like it's a totally lost season. Obviously you lose
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: your starting quarterback and there's only so much that you're
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: going to be able to do with either Jameis or
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: McCarthy at the helm, but you still got a chance to,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: you know, make it to the playoffs this year. And
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: who do you think gives him a better chance to
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: do so, McCarthy or Jameis?
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's tough. You have to do it at some point.
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: You don't just trade for J.J. McCarthy and don't see
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: what you have in him. Do I think it's too soon?
- 1:23:56Speaker 4: Also, yes.
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: Jameis had a tough game last week. J.J.
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: Came in.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: He got them back, even though he completed 50% of
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: his passes. And it was a lot of yards. It
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: was a lot of Malik neighbors just– and all that,
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: but you got to see what you got with him.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: I just think it's too soon.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: But what do you do now, though? Now that he's
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: come out and performed like that, what do you go
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: back to Jameis?
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: I mean, the good news with a guy like Jameis
- 1:24:18Speaker 3: is you can go back to a Jameis. Because Jameis, Jameis,
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: that's not what you got with him.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: But my thing is, is that you have to, I mean,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: they're starting McCarthy. That came out today. And yes, you
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: have to start McCarthy this game. And then if McCarthy
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: is sticking up the joint, then you go back to Jameis.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: I agree.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: You're not worried about ruining either of these guys' confidence
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: because they're not in your long-term plans. So I think
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: now you ride out McCarthy and see what he can do,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: and as soon as he fucks up, he has one
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: of those games, he throws a couple picks, all right,
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: you're out of here. And then, like you said, Jameis
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: is running out there smiling, grinning, ready to fucking do
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: his thing. You know, he's still got crab lead juice
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: on his fingers.
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: Our guy just loves the ball, man. Our guy just
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: loves the ball. He loves the ball. He's very grateful
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: for the opportunity. He's got a two-year extension there. He
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: literally has no ego about it. He signed up to
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: be a good teammate. Yep.
- 1:25:05Speaker 3: And to help Jackson Tharpe and I guess now J.J.
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: McCarthy too.
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: This is what he signed up for for $ 4 million
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: a year.
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: You know, he's good.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: He's good with whatever comes.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Gotcha, gotcha. How do you– okay, so I got one
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: more football question for you personally as a Niners fan.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Mike Evans, Achilles tightness. Niners are riding high. They look good.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: They feel good. Receiver room banged up. I personally.
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: Dude, we're without our top six receivers from our opening
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: day roster.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: If I'm them, I pretty much... I baby Mike Evans
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: until the game before the playoffs. I do everything I
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: can to just make him... Because the thing is that
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: you don't even need him to build up chemistry. You
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: need Mike Evans to be available in the playoffs on
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: a third down... or in the red zone when nobody's
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: open and you just throw the ball in his direction
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: and he finds a way to make it happen.
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: It's pretty clear.
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: Brock already got chemistry. I'm worried about that. I am
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: very much.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: Worried about his ribs, his leg. I don't need to
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: see him this weekend. We have a bye coming up
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: in week eight and then you can kind of reassess,
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: but they got some room for error here.
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: A lot of room for error.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: Arizona Cardinals, by the way, for that.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: Every team in the NFC West has at least three losses.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Every team in the NFC West, has one loss to
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: the Niners. There is a lot of room.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: They're going to win the division, okay? They're going to
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: be a playoff team. We know that. It's about, you know,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: with them. And with the Niners and the success that
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: they've had recently, it's always about, you know, them trying
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: to win the whole thing. So, yeah, you definitely got
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: to keep him out. Real quick, I want to say
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: shout out to my guy, Jess Nix, over here hopping
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: in saying salute. Yo, my man, me and Nickinator, we
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: talked Nix early for about an hour. Definitely watch it
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: on the replay gang, but always appreciate the support for sure.
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: And then I want to ask you another question as
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: a Bay Area sports fan before we get to the
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: biggest story in sports at the moment. There's some talk
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: out there that the Warriors may be trying to look
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: to trade Porzingis.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: Yeah, the POTS issue is coming back. He has that
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: autoimmune issue. It seems like it's been acting back up.
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: He's now contemplating his own future in basketball. Like there's
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: real fear came out today that he could potentially retire. Yeah,
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: the Warriors just signed him to a two-year $ 40 million
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: deal this offseason. The good news is only $ 3 million
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: is guaranteed next year.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: I see.
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: I didn't know that. I didn't know that. Okay.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: Yeah, there's some underlying factors here that are, yeah, you've
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: got to look a little deeper than the surface on.
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: So it's basically a borderline expiring contract that they can
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: move on from. They'll probably have to attach something to it,
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: you know, give it to a team with cap room
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: and attach a pick maybe to it. But, yeah, there's
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: a chance.
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: They could move him.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: No one is trading for Porzingis. Not in his current situation.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: No one's doing that.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: No, just to get rid of an expiring deal. Because, again,
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: he has virtually no guaranteed money for this year.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Well, at the earliest, that's not happening until February. But
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: you don't make trades to get off an expiring deal
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: at the beginning of the season. Everybody's hope eternal right now.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much, unless you're worse and you have real
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: reality is that yeah team they should be better than
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: 37 and 45 but they're around one and done.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Team in my opinion yeah yeah i just.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: Don't see with this group the top end the back
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: of the roster is actually pretty decent the top of
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: the roster is a concern outside of staff no.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: Doubt and obviously he's getting up there in age uh
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: yo Biggest story in sports. I'm not going to give
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: all the details on it. We don't need to give details. But, yo, man,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Jalen hurts. Yo, man, this is some scary shit and
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: some possibly negligent and might I even say nefarious type shit. So, listen, everybody,
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: if you're watching this, you know the details. If you're
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: watching and you're watching on YouTube, or you're watching on Twitter,
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: or you're watching on Twitch, or you're watching on Facebook,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: hop over to YouTube, hit the subscribe button there. We
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: are so close. Last time I checked, I think we're

- 1:29:41Speaker 1: mean everything for me for you to hit that subscribe

- 1:29:46Speaker 1: more content. You'll know when I'm going live. We've been
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: pretty consistent. We've been doing a good job. We're going
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: to do an even better job. And there's some new
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: stuff that's coming. So you definitely want to hit that
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: subscribe so you know when your boy is coming on.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: You can watch us on either X or on YouTube,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: but it helps us the most if you watch us
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: on YouTube. And also you can listen to the podcast
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: wherever you get your podcasts. Now, Jalen Hurts. Yo, man,
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: if it ends up coming out that, like some people
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: are saying, that the fact that they were playing in
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: London had anything to do with the decision-making as far
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: as letting him play in that game two weeks ago,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: I think you're going to see the NFL and the
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Eagles possibly get sued. I think that you're going to see,
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: I mean, the backlash I think is just going, could
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: be tremendous, especially because in today's world, like they're probably
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: going to get down to the bottom of this, exactly
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: what happened, what the decision-making process was, And if it
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: isn't that, if it wasn't something like where people were
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: saying like, yo, we got to figure out a way
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: to make this guy play because it's over there and
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: this is such a big deal, which I almost have
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: a hard time believing that just because the implications are
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: so scary of what could have possibly happened to this
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: guy with blood clots, being on a plane, playing in
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: a football game, in his lungs. But it's hard to
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: understand how it sounds like at one point they were saying, hey,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: you shouldn't go to sleep. Because that's dangerous. But, yeah,
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: let's go ahead and play this game and let's throw
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: you on a plane cross-country, you know, over the Atlantic.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: I don't get it, man. I don't get it. Somebody's
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: got some explaining to do because this don't make no
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: type of sense, yo. I don't understand what is going
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: on there. And this is, you know, we know how
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: serious this is. We watch Chris Bosh. go from being
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: an all-NBA player to out the league in no time
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: with the blood clots. It's a very, very scary thing,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: especially for a guy who's already made his money. Now,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: one thing we know about Jalen Hurts, all you have
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: to do is look at his college career to know
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: that he loves ball and that he is quite resilient
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: and will continue to do whatever he has to continue
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: to play. He is a self-made man in the NFL.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: Nothing was given to him. He got very famously benched
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: in a national championship game for Tua and then went
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: over to Oklahoma, right? He went to Oklahoma, right? That's
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: where he transferred to when he left?
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: Yeah, he did transfer to Oklahoma. But don't forget, before
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: he went to Oklahoma, Tua got injured in the SEC
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: championship the year before and they had to bring Kurtz
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: back against Georgia and he won them that game. That
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: dude is a pro's pro and he always has been
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: going back to his college days.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Right. So he's not calling it quits unless he absolutely
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: has to. And I'm sure that he wanted to be
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: out there on the field. Most of these guys do.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: It's one of the biggest misconceptions out there. They're like, oh,
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: these pampered athletes. You know, oh, they get a hangnail
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: and they don't want to play. Everybody wants to do
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: load management and all that stuff. Most of the time
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: that's coming from the organization because they are huge, huge investments.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: And sometimes, sometimes the organization is actually just trying to
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: do the right thing by the guy. And most players
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: want to play. And so I am just really, really
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: hoping that this guy is able to come back and
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: make a full recovery and doesn't have any more complications.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: But I can't wait to see the details of this,
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: what comes out, and how this all plays out. What
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: are your thoughts on.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: It, Paul?
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much everything that you said. I mean, first off,
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: just hope that Jalen Hurts can make a full recovery
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: because this is like, these aren't just, this isn't just
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: a typical injury, right? I think this is literally life itself. Um, I,
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: I don't get how you can tell me that it's
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: a good idea for a guy to stay awake for
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: what was it? 36 hours in a row because it'd
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: be dangerous.
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden, Oh yeah, go ahead.
- 1:33:50Speaker 3: It's time. Go on the field, play a, play an
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: NFL football game at quarterback.
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: Like craziness.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: It's, it's insanity. Look, I know the Eagles are in
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: a bind, but there's a difference between like, you know,
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: what was that line of special? There's a thin line
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: between fries and shakes. Um, There's a– this is just
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: psychotic from the Eagles. Like, there's– to me, there's no
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: defending it. Like, I heard Jason Kelsey trying to defend
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: their doctors on Monday Night Countdown, and I was just– look,
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: I know he knows that personally, but I don't care
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: about the situation.
- 1:34:21Speaker 4: I just don't.
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: There's no– I'm no doctor or medical expert, but I
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: feel like having a blood clot, having to stay up
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: for 36 consecutive hours, and then going to play an
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: NFL football game is not healthy and not safe. you
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: got to save people from themselves. And yeah, when it
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: comes to athletes and especially football players, like those dudes
- 1:34:42Speaker 3: will do anything to stay on the field. Anything.
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: It's scary stuff, man. It really is. And I really,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: really hope that, uh, I hope it comes out that everybody,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: that it was just a mistake. And even if it
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: was just a mistake and it was just straight up negligence,
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: then I think that, you know, some, somebody's head's got
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: to roll over this. Um, but it'll be interesting. Um,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: We got the Knicks against the Celtics here coming up
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: on Friday. We got the Giants and the Jets in
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: action this weekend, and we'll definitely be back next week.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Like I said, hit that subscribe. Look out for some
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: more content coming out of your boy. Pause. But, yeah,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: look out for me, man. I appreciate all the love.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: We're having a whole lot of fun here. Baum, talk
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: to me, man. Fantasy football, next episode is when?
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: Tomorrow? Next episode is tomorrow. I will not be on
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: tomorrow because I'm at a conference in Vegas. I did
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: the self-host last week.
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: It was great.
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: Tomorrow, John and Brian are back in.
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: I will be back next Thursday.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: Hey, there's something that you got going on right now
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: that I know about. Can we talk about that?
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: That process? Okay. So, I mean, you guys have heard
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: me call him the Sports Almanac before. My man, Baum,
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: is currently... in the finalist uh stages of a possible
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: appearance on sports jeopardy uh talk to me a little
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: bit about that process and you know how it's been
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: going so far obviously you know the whole group chat
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: the squad um everybody in the i nick nation is
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: definitely rooting for you talk to me man uh how's
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: that going and um you know how are you feeling.
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: Dude it's so cool like Um, I watched the season,
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: they did the season this summer with just ESPN people
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: and celebrities. And I watched it. I watched everything. I
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: just wanted, you know, keep track of how I would do.
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: And I was like, damn, I do pretty well with this.
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: I was like, I wish they had a season two
- 1:36:41Speaker 3: or I wish they had made it open to the public.
- 1:36:43Speaker 3: And then a couple of weeks ago, Monday night countdown,
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Joe Buck, you know, made it public. Hey, we're doing
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: season two. And this time it's open to all you,
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: you know, idiots like myself. Um, so I went, took
- 1:36:54Speaker 3: the test immediately, um, They invited me to apply a
- 1:36:56Speaker 3: few days later, sent the application in. I literally was
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: out on a Friday when I found out. I was
- 1:37:03Speaker 3: just drinking beers with my buddies at 10 Barrel Brewing
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: in Portland. I was like, got to go, do this,
- 1:37:08Speaker 3: send in the application. They accepted it, and they moved
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: me on to the next thing, which was just like
- 1:37:14Speaker 3: a little mock Jeopardy. You basically just sit there on
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: a Zoom call and do the mock Jeopardy. Waited a
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: couple weeks and got the notification on Monday that they
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: moved me on to the next round.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: My man.
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: So now we're on to a mock Jeopardy game and
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: a Zoom interview.
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: So, yeah, stoked.
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: And hopefully my ball knowledge continue to keep shining through
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: and hopefully can make it on and do it for
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: the squad.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Bro, we're all wishing you the best of luck. And
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: I am very confident that we will be seeing you.
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: on the silver screen before too long up there. Did
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I call TV the silver screen or is that just movie?
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: I think it's movie.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: Ah, whatever. We're going to see you somewhere on some
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: screen up there showing the whole world what those close
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: to you already know, that there is nobody who knows
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: sports like the super producer, my guy, Jason Baum. And yeah, man,
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: I'm excited for this opportunity for you. And like I said,
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: I got the most confidence in the world in you. And, yeah, man,
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: anything else you want to add before we get up.
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: Out of here? Hey, I just appreciate the love on
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: that and appreciate the support, you know, from you and
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: the guys and just everybody else. And, you know, hopefully
- 1:38:23Speaker 3: it works out. And if I do end up doing good,
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: I still won't have an ego when I come.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: Back, I promise. You would deserve to. All right, y'all.
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: It's your boy NIC.
