Mountain goats in Utah are becoming more territorial this summer as they form nursery herds with their young—both males and females have horns and can charge if provoked. Wildlife officials urge hikers to stay at least 150 feet away, avoid feeding them, keep dogs leashed, and be extra cautious during dawn and dusk when goats are most active.
