- 0:44Hello everyone, my name is Angel and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin,
- 0:47the show designed for the daily commuter, the busy parent, the early riser,
- 0:51and everyone who just needs a few minutes of encouragement before the day begins.
- 0:57Today's episode is called Faith Anchors.
- 1:01Well, have you ever felt like waves were just tossing you back and forth?
- 1:07Yeah, you know, we talked about unshaken this week, right? So here I am coming
- 1:12back to you with another beach, wavy, crazy moment.
- 1:16Why? Because we're getting into fall and I think a lot of us missed the beach.
- 1:20So let's do another reference to the waves.
- 1:24One moment, you know, as we talked about the waves, one moment you're calm and steady.
- 1:29And the next, it feels like everything is spinning out of control.
- 1:34I've been there. Those moments when you're holding it together on the outside,
- 1:38but inside you feel like your faith is drifting.
- 1:41There was a season in my life when I felt spiritually restless.
- 1:46I prayed, but it felt like my prayers were bouncing off the ceiling.
- 1:50I read scripture, but my heart was distracted.
- 1:54I'd go through motions, and I wasn't anchored.
- 2:01And that's when I realized that I wasn't holding on to God the way He wanted
- 2:05me to. I had been trying to control every little detail.
- 2:10I was steering the ship, but I had let go of the anchor.
- 2:15That's right. I let go of the anchor.
- 2:18And scripture will tell you, Hebrews chapter 6, verse 19, we have this hope
- 2:23as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
- 2:27What a powerful image hope not fear not control not our own strength but hope
- 2:34in christ is what steadies us and keeps us from drifting when life's storm comes
- 2:41over our way or come over our way i should say really.
- 2:45An anchor doesn't stop the storm, by the way. It doesn't calm the waves,
- 2:49but it keeps you from being swept away.
- 2:52So what are your anchors?
- 2:55For me, it's prayer.
- 2:57It's prayer in the morning, whenever I get a chance to, I'll be honest.
- 3:00Even if it's two minutes before the kids wake up, or perhaps when I'm already
- 3:05on the road. It's listening to worship music, in addition to prayer.
- 3:09Worship music in the car helps, you know, instead of the news sometimes.
- 3:12Sometimes it's keeping small notebooks in my bag to jot down things that I'm
- 3:17grateful for doing on that day or maybe for the week.
- 3:21These small, consistent habits, they're the anchors that hold us firm.
- 3:27Because the truth is, stress, fear, and doubt will always try to pull us away.
- 3:34But faith, gratitude, and daily connection with God keeps us grounded.
- 3:41So, here's a takeaway from this. So, if you're listening today while you're
- 3:45driving to work or dropping your kids off or sipping your morning coffee,
- 3:49take a deep breath and ask yourself, what's your anchor?
- 3:54What's anchoring me today? If you can't find an answer, start with this simple prayer.
- 4:00Lord, be my anchor today and hold me steady. When I'm unsure.
- 4:05Keep my heart tied to you.
- 4:08Let's pray about it. Heavenly Father, thank you for being an anchor in LifeStorm.
- 4:12Thank you for never letting go, even when we drift.
- 4:17Today, we ask you to remind us to stay connected through prayer,
- 4:21through gratitude, through trust.
- 4:24Help us remember that our faith isn't about calm waters.
- 4:29It's about who holds the rope when the waves rise.
- 4:34We pray this unto you in your precious name. Amen. As you head into your day, hold on to the truth.
- 4:42You are anchored in God's love.
- 4:46Hear that again. You are anchored in God's love.
- 4:50Remember that because you matter. And never forget, have faith,
- 4:56let it begin. See you tomorrow.
