- 0:55Speaker 5: Kind of game me over at that's room.
- 0:59Speaker 2: What we have here is we're celebrating with all Utah
- 1:02Speaker 2: local distilleries and their canned cocktails, these ready to drink cocktails.
- 1:07Speaker 2: We're featuring today's simplicity cocktail Beehive Distillery and sugar House Distillery.
- 1:14Speaker 5: Simplicity.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yep, you got the simplicity. We're featuring simplicities, Margarita that Gina.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Has that you brought this just for me. I did
- 1:23Speaker 5: because these are my very very favorite canned cocktails.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I always have these, and the bill has also from simplicity.
- 1:32Speaker 5: You chose the Apertivo spritzer.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Yes, what you expect to be a little bit bitter,
- 1:38Speaker 3: and it is. It is a little bit bitter, but
- 1:40Speaker 3: not as bitter as some other.
- 1:42Speaker 5: It's got a good balance to it.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Uh, Genie's yours is ten percent alcohol by vulnerabil I
- 1:46Speaker 2: think yours is eight percent. And Carrie, we did the
- 1:50Speaker 2: sugar House the raspberry lemonade, and what I like about
- 1:54Speaker 2: that one. It's got that freshness in there of the raspberry,
- 1:57Speaker 2: the the acidity of the lemonade. Uh, vodka is the
- 2:01Speaker 2: distillate in there? In ten percent, I'll call by volume.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Now, you poured these over ice because they had not
- 2:07Speaker 3: been refrigerated.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I had not done the quick chill in the cooler, yeap.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Would you normally drink these straight from the can?
- 2:13Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:13Speaker 2: With a straw or in the can and always these
- 2:16Speaker 2: are fun because you can rotate that tab around and
- 2:19Speaker 2: stick the straw right through, so won't be bouncing out.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Using a gave straw or usable metal straw that works
- 2:26Speaker 2: out really well. These are all twelve ounces per so
- 2:31Speaker 2: think in that comparison to Satan sizes of beer. But
- 2:34Speaker 2: the proof is a little higher than most sneak up
- 2:37Speaker 2: on you. They can definitely sneak up on you. So
- 2:39Speaker 2: the third one at the kids softball game, you gotta
- 2:42Speaker 2: watch out.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I like these chilled cans for outdoor things like picnics
- 2:47Speaker 1: or that.
- 2:48Speaker 5: But when I'm home, I will pour this.
- 2:50Speaker 1: In a glass with ice.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah, classic of Yeah.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Now a different one if you got yeah, yeah, So
- 2:57Speaker 2: the Moscow Mule I think you like this is now
- 3:00Speaker 2: by Beehive.
- 3:01Speaker 5: They're gin Ricky's classic.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And you like things that are a little tartar, Yeah
- 3:05Speaker 2: I do, so let me do the gin Ricky for you.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Okay.
- 3:08Speaker 6: Also, both of those are great. I have those in
- 3:11Speaker 6: my fridge right now.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Oh okay, Yeah, I love the be high product.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Let me try that marguerite nine percent nine percent alcohol
- 3:18Speaker 2: by volume.
- 3:20Speaker 5: What we have is, uh.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I am.
- 3:26Speaker 5: That's a I just want to taste there, you go
- 3:29Speaker 5: finish it. Yeah, oh yeah, the gin Ricky is really good.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, those are tasty, and what we're celebrating you know
- 3:36Speaker 2: Memorial Day, everyone's going to be together. What are you
- 3:39Speaker 2: gonna You're not gonna make a bunch of cocktails.
- 3:41Speaker 5: When friends are coming over. This is perfect and this
- 3:44Speaker 5: is do you want to get right to enjoy it.
- 3:46Speaker 5: You want to be mixing when they walk in the door. Here,
- 3:49Speaker 5: here you go.
- 3:51Speaker 2: As we mentioned in the opening, you can get all
- 3:54Speaker 2: these products right at their location. Beehive and sugar House
- 3:58Speaker 2: are right across from on another the street over there
- 4:01Speaker 2: on in South Salt Lake, and it's nice. You can
- 4:05Speaker 2: do a two for you go into one package story,
- 4:07Speaker 2: go cross street to the other package store. Of course
- 4:09Speaker 2: you can buy their distillates as well, their gins, they're vodkas,
- 4:12Speaker 2: they're whiskeys, things of that nature. Beehive is making some
- 4:16Speaker 2: amazing whiskey, Sugarhouses are making is making amazing RUMs and
- 4:21Speaker 2: vodkas and things of that nature. And of course they're
- 4:24Speaker 2: rye they're bourbons, and their American single malt spirits as well.
- 4:30Speaker 2: And these guys can't you're gonna meet the distillers, you're
- 4:32Speaker 2: gonna meet the owners. That's who's in there. And it's
- 4:35Speaker 2: really good. And then the package store for Simplicity's over
- 4:37Speaker 2: by Costco over on three hundred West and about that
- 4:40Speaker 2: seventeen hundred southist it's in that plaza there.
- 4:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I got everything in there.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I got a bout like my son had to go
- 4:48Speaker 3: to Costco on Sunday and I said, you know, would
- 4:51Speaker 3: you go over to Simplicity and just.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Get me a bottle of bourbon? There you go? Oh okay,
- 4:56Speaker 5: I didn't know I could do that.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I do that.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, And it was like a hund and twelve proof
- 5:01Speaker 3: or something.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Somebody texted in, is the can margarita as sweet as
- 5:04Speaker 1: a normal margarita?
- 5:05Speaker 5: I would say no.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, no, they they do a really good job with
- 5:10Speaker 2: their balance. A lot of these have that good acid
- 5:15Speaker 2: introduced to it. I would say the Apertivo spritzer may
- 5:20Speaker 2: be of all these on the off dry side.
- 5:23Speaker 5: So to review what we have, Beehive distilling the gin Ricky.
- 5:27Speaker 2: That'll be the crispus that you have here, that's of
- 5:29Speaker 2: course Beehive's gin and being the ricky part. That'll be
- 5:33Speaker 2: a line. That's a lot of lineness in there. The
- 5:36Speaker 2: Moscow Mule by Beehive delicious. That ginger thing coming out
- 5:40Speaker 2: and it's not so much ginger that it takes your
- 5:43Speaker 2: breath away. I've had some Moscow mules and it's just like,
- 5:47Speaker 2: you know, that kind of a thing. Yeah, and then
- 5:49Speaker 2: simplicities as mentioned the margarita and the Appertit Spitzer sugar
- 5:53Speaker 2: House white peach.
- 5:54Speaker 5: We featured this last week. These are so good.
- 5:58Speaker 6: And this raspberry lemonade thing, it's not.
- 6:00Speaker 5: That sweet, no, and that's what I like about it.
- 6:03Speaker 5: It's not overwhelmingly sweet. A good friend of mine.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Can you only get these in the package stores at
- 6:08Speaker 3: the various distillers.
- 6:09Speaker 2: There are all this is available at the wine stares too,
- 6:12Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, especially the one right downtown, the brand
- 6:15Speaker 2: new one, and they're cold, they're right in the cooler,
- 6:18Speaker 2: so they're ready to go.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You can't open it and start in the store, though.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I would not recommend that because I know what happens when.
- 6:27Speaker 4: You do well, and that's why I can't go in there.
- 6:33Speaker 4: I have to send people in.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Here's a texter.
- 6:36Speaker 6: I'm still recovering from Jimmy's tequila Knight last night, and
- 6:40Speaker 6: now I have more.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Things to try because of them. There we go night.
- 6:43Speaker 5: That was a good night.
- 6:44Speaker 6: That's why Jimmy's here is to teach you all about
- 6:47Speaker 6: what you need to try.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And that's fun about whether you can have us come
- 6:51Speaker 2: in on a corporate pride event or a residency kind
- 6:54Speaker 2: of thing. What we do if in a residence community,
- 6:57Speaker 2: I come in do our monthly educational entertaining programming different
- 7:02Speaker 2: themes each month. It's been a lot of fun to
- 7:04Speaker 2: be able to engage with our consumers in their space.
- 7:08Speaker 1: We've all had Jimmy at our house for private events.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Have you ever thought Jimmy of doing a program where
- 7:14Speaker 3: you actually just move in and live with someone today?
- 7:19Speaker 2: Speaking of which, we do those in home events as
- 7:22Speaker 2: Gina mentioned, and you know, it really spices up if
- 7:25Speaker 2: you want to enhance your entertaining with friends in from
- 7:28Speaker 2: out of town or just your friends and family.
- 7:30Speaker 5: It's a holiday, it's a birthday.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Our in home wine events can be found at win
- 7:33Speaker 2: Academicvieutah dot com and we have a whole theme of them.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We've added new ones, we change them up. They're always
- 7:40Speaker 2: different wines. So if you want to do the same
- 7:42Speaker 2: one every twice a year or something like that, I
- 7:47Speaker 2: have accounts where I'm in there home quarterly and we
- 7:49Speaker 2: just rotate through. Yeah, and we just come through and
- 7:53Speaker 2: they got their favorite friends of minimum made people and
- 7:56Speaker 2: it works out really well.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Information there.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Jimmy just comes in, does a program and then get
- 8:01Speaker 3: gets the hell out of there so you can continue
- 8:03Speaker 3: partying with your friends, because that can be a lot.
- 8:07Speaker 5: You don't need to me.
- 8:08Speaker 6: I still have friends who talk about you know the times.
- 8:11Speaker 5: It's always memorable.
- 8:12Speaker 2: And you guys always put on a great as do
- 8:15Speaker 2: many of the guests out there.
- 8:16Speaker 5: It's fun.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, Utah is thirsty. When people say
- 8:23Speaker 2: can you drink in Utah?
- 8:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you can. Carries a good host with
- 8:29Speaker 3: a can cocktail. When people come to his house for
- 8:31Speaker 3: a party, he hands them a can cocktail. I just say,
- 8:35Speaker 3: you know where the fridge is, tell my garage, you know.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Hey.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Safe Memorial Day weekend.
