- 0:01All the Bellah Manisha Donna in your regimes, Milah Rahman
- 0:04Rahim, respected brothers, sisters, welcome back to after
- 0:07Maghrib Salaam Alaikum. And of course we are in the days
- 0:12after Ashura, the days where we commemorate the journey of the
- 0:16family of Imam Hussein Alais Salaam from Karbala to Kufa to
- 0:21Sham and the journey which we will never forget generation
- 0:26after generation. Since the year 61 after Hezra
- 0:30has remembered the trials and the tribulations, the suffering
- 0:33and the endurance that the family of Alam Hamad Salawat
- 0:37Alayhi, Salam Alayhi had to go through the burning sands, the
- 0:42thorns, the the nails in the chains that the family of Alam
- 0:46Hamad had to carry with them. Some reports say for up to 900
- 0:52or 1000 miles of walking. Now during these days, Ren
- 0:55sisters, as we reflect on the 1st 10 nights of Muhalong, we
- 0:59learned some of the values and we reflect on some of the
- 1:01lessons that we heard so much about.
- 1:05But how perhaps we can apply this to our lives today.
- 1:07And one of the most important lessons from the saga of Karbala
- 1:12is Sabar and truly understanding Sabar, not in a general sense of
- 1:16I should be a patient person because the Imam was patient,
- 1:19his family and his companions were patient.
- 1:21But perhaps the further layers to patients and Sabad lays that
- 1:25we perhaps haven't explored before on the podcast, lays that
- 1:28we can understand from the holy of Quran, from our Hadith, from
- 1:31understanding different virtues of patients, different types,
- 1:34limitations, capacities and styles of patients that we see
- 1:39throughout the lives, the lives of the Atabeit.
- 1:41Ayaam Salaam. Joining me, as always, is my
- 1:44dear brother, Said Ali Salaam Alaikum said.
- 1:56How are? You keeping?
- 1:59Hamdullah well, you know, we are still carrying on with the with
- 2:03the mourning and with the Mossad, or we're still
- 2:05remembering the tragedies that took place after Karbala, after
- 2:08the days of Ashura. So many of us are still
- 2:11Hamdullah, attending the Majalis.
- 2:12Many of us are still listening to speakers and lecturers and
- 2:15learning and trying to maximise lessons that we can take from
- 2:20Karbala and from Sham and especially from your mum Zena.
- 2:23Aberdeen say the Zena Bali Salaam.
- 2:25So inshallah the views are home. Wherever you are around the
- 2:27world you are and Charlotte also doing the same.
- 2:30How are you? I'm, yeah, the Hamdullah Habla.
- 2:32I'm, I'm, I'm good, I'm we're lucky and we're honoured to be
- 2:36able to commemorate once again this year, like every year has
- 2:42been filled with emotion, filled with unity amongst the
- 2:47Montminine. Our hearts are with the Imam of
- 2:50our Thai mum, Sahib, Alas, Ziman, who we continuously think
- 2:54of when we read Ziad Ali Haseen that I had all of the, all of
- 3:01the, the idea that we have the Ziad that we have that pay
- 3:04tribute to him and that link his message to Imam Jose.
- 3:07And so I think that's been nice because we've heard a lot about
- 3:10that in, in, in the last couple of weeks.
- 3:14So inshallah we can put that into practice as well.
- 3:17This year. Al Hamdallah, Bron sisters,
- 3:19we've had one of our favorite and I shouldn't really be
- 3:23biased, but our favorite guests, guest scholars speaking in the
- 3:28United Kingdom and Al Hamdallah, we're honoured to be joined once
- 3:32again by our beloved said Abdullah Naqib.
- 3:35I didn't say that one is actually mine.
- 3:38Have you ever said baby, thank you for the nice to have you
- 3:40here. Thank you so much for coming.
- 3:42God bless yourself. How are you keeping Handela?
- 3:44Handela, It's been a couple of years.
- 3:46I know, I know. We've missed you a few times.
- 3:49Have you all of? Our viewers miss you as well.
- 3:50I've been a large. Oracle would you have been have
- 3:53you which Oracle? It's it's beautiful.
- 3:55It's just to see where the podcast was, how it's progressed
- 4:00in the years and all the the struggles that people actually
- 4:03don't know. All you guys had to go through
- 4:05and enjoy and how you guys stayed together.
- 4:07Have you? That speaks volumes about the
- 4:10patience that you guys have. You've been, you've been, you're
- 4:14a big part of that journey, say you have been and you remain a
- 4:19part of the team and look to you for guidance and inspiration all
- 4:23the time. So and I think the viewers at
- 4:25home love you as much as we do. So we're so honoured to have you
- 4:29again today said I know this is a topic which you spoke about
- 4:34during your 10 nights in in Birmingham and I advise everyone
- 4:38to go and check out the sales lectures which are all online as
- 4:40well. But of course this is such a
- 4:44critical theme. Would you perhaps say that when
- 4:50we look at our last panel to Allah's will and the will of why
- 4:55Karbala took place, could we narrow it down maybe to one key
- 5:00value or characteristic? Or are there multiple?
- 5:03And if so, where does Sabar kind of fit into this?
- 5:08That's a very good question. Look, Karbala, you really can't
- 5:14cocune it to anything. That's the thing.
- 5:16It has the pinnacle or the most perfect manifestation of many
- 5:24characters. You know, we've got sacrifice
- 5:27and all in the drew rites, said the Zainab and her sacrifice,
- 5:31Abbas, his sacrifice, Ali Akbar, Azkar, Mohammed Hussain, you
- 5:36know, all of which manifested. You can manifest Rahman, for
- 5:40example, and how merciful they were with the enemies, with her,
- 5:45you know, with anyone that chose even to the last second, he's
- 5:48giving them an opportunity to return back towards Allah,
- 5:52Manifestation of mercy. You've got a manifestation of
- 5:56the morality of a family unit. You know, the love that you're
- 5:59showing towards either your spouse, your children, your
- 6:02brothers, your mother's, your father's, you have that
- 6:05manifestation. And obviously the one that we're
- 6:07speaking about today, which is Sabor and Sabor generally in a
- 6:13general sense is of the most important characteristics that
- 6:18we do have and the tradition that we have that just shows you
- 6:23how important it is in your faith.
- 6:26It says that the position of patience to Iman, which we're
- 6:32all aiming to benefit from and to to gain says it's the
- 6:39position of the head to the body.
- 6:42So you can imagine if a person is is trying to be faithful or
- 6:45trying to be religious, tries to endeavour into this sea or this
- 6:49ocean of trying to be more religious.
- 6:53OK, what do I do? Do I do worship more?
- 6:55Do I learn more? Do I educate myself?
- 6:57Do I get magiles more YouTube. Where is this?
- 7:02And it says that the direction that you're going to be using is
- 7:08all through your patience. Because if you look at head
- 7:12towards the body, the head is responsible for #1 moving the
- 7:16body, OK, at any particular direction.
- 7:18So through your patience, that you're able to pave the way of
- 7:23where you should go, where you're able to go, and your
- 7:26limitations. Likewise, the head to the body,
- 7:29everything goes through the head for the body, right?
- 7:32With an inch of bionic, with your eyes, with your ears, with
- 7:37your senses. And once you've understood it,
- 7:39then your body kind of reacts to it, right?
- 7:41So that is all through the patients as well.
- 7:44So if you look at whatever lens that we're looking at it
- 7:47through, it's of great significance, OK?
- 7:51And what we allow to impact us through patients, whatever we
- 7:58allow for ourselves to react to also goes back to patients, OK?
- 8:03And we always have this one concept that we always think
- 8:06patience is only one thing. When something befalls us, then
- 8:09it's how do we react to it? And often people just thinks
- 8:13that we have to be silent and that's what patient means.
- 8:16But it's, it's, it's far greater than that.
- 8:19And inshallah, that's a discussion that we're going to
- 8:21have tonight. Where, where are the
- 8:23limitations? What are the different types?
- 8:26How can we apply it? You know, is it just silence
- 8:30that we're just sitting at home, You know, much, much like the
- 8:33discussion of Haeba, right? Intelar, intelar, is it just you
- 8:36sitting down or is it something that you're actively doing?
- 8:40Likewise, the concept of patience falls in the same
- 8:43category that is misinterpreted by us and by the Muslims at
- 8:48large, I think. They're all so beautiful.
- 8:50You said it so eloquently, honey.
- 8:52It's a plan Allah even like trying to think about things in
- 8:55my own personal life when it comes to someone, someone has
- 8:58been like the the key moments where you calm everything down.
- 9:03Like no matter what troubles you go through, you have patience,
- 9:06Allah's with you. No matter what difficulties,
- 9:08trials, pressures, community, family, friends, the podcast,
- 9:13whatever it is, if we have some more, Allah's there with you.
- 9:16And you know, Speaking of that, we, we read in the Quran Allah
- 9:19Azzawajal says in Allahuma Sabarins.
- 9:21How do we understand that? What is meant by the others?
- 9:24So it depends on the type of sabar, right?
- 9:27So if we delve into. Yeah, yeah, type.
- 9:30So, so in Allahama Asabarin. So that's the discussion like
- 9:34what does sabarim mean here? Because different places in the
- 9:37Quran means different things, right?
- 9:38So and also layers so on the. So I just reject say it is
- 9:43because the reason I want to know is because some people say,
- 9:45for example, when we say in Allahama Asabarin, there are
- 9:49those who say what does God want us to be?
- 9:51You know, that's God want us to suffer.
- 9:53Yeah, only from like, how do we understand it for those who face
- 9:57trials and. Tribulations because that's
- 9:59that's that's the most important things to identify what sabar is
- 10:02I'm Lily Hivey. I'll give you a verse on the
- 10:04holy Quran similar Rahman Rahim. What's the anal?
- 10:07The sabaris? What's Salah?
- 10:09Now you try to interpret. That you go towards the surface
- 10:12level and you look at the tradition that says Sabar in
- 10:15this verse in question means. Song which is fast.
- 10:21So now, Sabar, why does it mean fasting in this context?
- 10:24It's obviously because outside the month of Ramadan, you're
- 10:27able to eat, you're able to drink.
- 10:29There are things that you are able to do to be intimate to the
- 10:33end of it. There's all these things that
- 10:34you're allowed to do. But all of a sudden, in the
- 10:36month of Ramadan, Allah puts rules and regulations.
- 10:38On it, these rules and regulations need you to abide by
- 10:42what Allah has prescribed upon you.
- 10:45Allah saying that. Point in your life when you're
- 10:50making an active decision to stay away from that which is
- 10:53unlawful. Actively trying with the thought
- 10:56process as patience. So now it's not just I'm just
- 11:00sitting back doing nothing, there's an action that I'm
- 11:03actually pursuing in order for me to achieve a goal that Allah
- 11:07has set before me. So that's where people kind of
- 11:11get confused like, OK, so now patience means on the surface
- 11:15level here. Fasting, if you go to the deeper
- 11:18levels in the traditions of Muhammad Ali, Muhammad, we have
- 11:23Alam Salah al Muhammad, we have traditions that say patience
- 11:28here means Rasol Allah. So what now says it's the Aino
- 11:32meaning seek assistance through Rasol Allah, OK.
- 11:36And by extension there a little bit.
- 11:39So you have deeper meanings there, and both of them are very
- 11:42valid. But the type is what we need to
- 11:45understand. So are there different types of
- 11:48patients? So they say the first one is the
- 11:51most understood one, right? Which?
- 11:53Is a Sabra Alabama Bella? Sabra Alabama Bella, You have a
- 11:57calamity that befalls you. How do you react to it?
- 12:01It's not about how do you keep quiet.
- 12:03You'll say patience is a colour seller.
- 12:04I'm just going to form my head to the side and, and, you know,
- 12:09carry through, sail through the the rocky seas.
- 12:12But it says here when you have a calamity that befalls you, so
- 12:21there it says for Bashar is sabarim sahaya glad tidings to
- 12:26the patient ones. Why the action?
- 12:28The first thing is is they remember Allah subhanahu Ta'ala
- 12:31and they remember how they will return.
- 12:33OK, and this is all. Different things, we're not
- 12:36someone and why with Tamarat or Amphos?
- 12:39To the end of it. So there's a lot of things that
- 12:40Allah can test you within sabra allel Bella.
- 12:43The opposite to that is what is a yes.
- 12:48So sabra on one side, yes is on the other.
- 12:50Some say a jezza. So it depends on how you want to
- 12:53look at it. But there's a discussion for a
- 12:55different day, inshallah. But patience is there.
- 12:57Allel Bella. The opposite of being patient,
- 13:02going to the right way is going to the wrong way.
- 13:04So. So Bella comes instead of as an
- 13:07example. Let's say you you lose a family
- 13:11member, someone loses their health that.
- 13:13You know, position you lose in any way, shape or form your
- 13:19position you're respecting the community.
- 13:21You're some. People get stripped from the
- 13:25headman of Elevate and we've seen that, we've seen that.
- 13:28So what do you do then? Do you try to find a way back to
- 13:33Allah or do some because some people go the other way.
- 13:35They're like, why me? I've done everything Halas, and
- 13:39they go to a different direction, right?
- 13:40So they haven't practiced this concept of patience.
- 13:46To the right way. Said, how do I practice this
- 13:48concept to patience is the discussion.
- 13:51You said in Siam there's an, there's an.
- 13:53Active point to it. There's an action that you're
- 13:56doing. You're you're first of all,
- 13:58you're thinking about it. You understand where the end
- 14:00goal is. And how to?
- 14:02Achieve that so yeah, so for example.
- 14:06With anything, let's say something befalls you of of a
- 14:10health issue. So yeah, so someone has a
- 14:14health. Issue.
- 14:14What do you do? You could ponder over, oh, you
- 14:18know, for example, this personality that Once Upon a
- 14:22time they had good health and I didn't help them in any way,
- 14:25shape or form where I should have.
- 14:27I had a responsibility. They've been my family members.
- 14:30You could feel bad and go the other way and just actually
- 14:32break it off more because like, oh, now if I help them, they
- 14:34think now that I'm only helping you because you're sick.
- 14:37Oh, I'm only there for you now that you need me.
- 14:39Why were you there before? Or you can be like, listen, I
- 14:42know that I wasn't where I need to be.
- 14:45Allah's given me an opportunity now.
- 14:47To reconnect, an opportunity to make amends, an opportunity to
- 14:53do that which Allah has already told me in what direction I need
- 14:55to go. That action upon Bala, because
- 14:58it's a trial and tribulation, That action in itself, even the
- 15:01thought process before the action is known as patients.
- 15:05OK. That is the process of patients
- 15:08now. Wherever it goes, it goes.
- 15:10Whether they choose to accept it, they do not.
- 15:13You're going to consist consistently.
- 15:16Try to. Engage in the correct way.
- 15:20So that's in bela. So that's the that's the thing
- 15:22that everyone knows. That's the most common one,
- 15:24right. The second is a Sabra al El
- 15:26Masia. What does Masia mean?
- 15:29Masia sin so refraining. From sin, yeah.
- 15:34So that's that's what you want to do, right.
- 15:35So, so the, so the Sabra on the Masia, Masia presents itself.
- 15:41It needs willpower. You need to have the right
- 15:45Maleka that we were speaking about earlier in order for you
- 15:47to remove yourself from that, from that sin.
- 15:50So, yeah, so and that goes because we spoke about it as
- 15:56well. So Sabor and Tasabor, there's
- 15:58two different concepts, right? So Sabor is what we're trying to
- 16:01achieve. Sabor is a maleka.
- 16:05Maleka means it becomes. Part of.
- 16:07You part of you OK, inherent as part of your being.
- 16:12So for example, we know personality prior to Islam is.
- 16:17Called the generous man Hatim Mutai.
- 16:23So Hatim Mutai is known as the generous person, right?
- 16:27So coupled with his persona inherently he's known as person
- 16:32that's generous. SA and Rasulullah very famous
- 16:35story. He captured his daughter as part
- 16:38of captive of war when they through.
- 16:43Skirmishes and then he found out that it was a daughter of Hatim
- 16:46Ottai. And he says in honour of that
- 16:49maleka in your father I will free you.
- 16:51So what about everyone else? He goes everyone else are free
- 16:54in honour of you, so you free them.
- 16:56Why? Because of a Maleka that someone
- 16:58has. Part of you.
- 17:00So what's now the difference between Sabor and Tasaba?
- 17:02So sabar Maleka, we said. Because I at least traits is
- 17:06that. Trait.
- 17:06Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maleka part of you.
- 17:08OK. When it comes to Tarsabur, it's
- 17:12the constant. It's the constant battle.
- 17:15And struggle within yourself to achieve that.
- 17:18So make it closer and understanding for the for the
- 17:23listeners, it's. Let's say I'll give an example
- 17:26for a male and a female. So for a male, let's say males
- 17:30are tested with viewing that which is hara.
- 17:35With in their phones or the out and about the lowering of their
- 17:39gaze. Is the masya right?
- 17:42So if you're looking at sabar bil masya, then they have to
- 17:46fight against looking at that which is Haram.
- 17:48Now you could have sabar as a meleka, which means when you see
- 17:53Haram in your mind, you know exactly what you need to do.
- 17:56I need to lower my gaze straight away.
- 17:58So when Haram presents itself and Shaitaan tries to elude you,
- 18:02what are you going to be doing? You're going to be straight
- 18:03away. Haram's there.
- 18:04I know exactly. I'm going to put my head down.
- 18:06I'm in a different direction, so straight away then I have to
- 18:09think about it because it's part of you.
- 18:10You know exactly what the right thing to do in that position is.
- 18:14Tulsabur means the struggle, so there's something.
- 18:19Haram, whether it's on the phone, whether it's in public.
- 18:23I know it's Haram but I'm struggling so I'm like.
- 18:29I just saw something that my Neffs leans towards.
- 18:32Am I going to scroll back? Do I, Do I leave it for another
- 18:35couple of seconds before I swipe up?
- 18:37That thing which I see in public, is it something that I'm
- 18:41going to put my head down, I'm going to struggle?
- 18:43Do I look back? Is that gaze going to be a
- 18:45little bit longer than it's supposed to be?
- 18:47So that's the Sabre. There's a struggle there, OK.
- 18:50Or Tasabbar. Tasabbar is if you constantly do
- 18:53it, Tasabar is going back and forth.
- 18:57So that's an example for something to do as Sabro al al
- 19:01Massia. So when that presents itself,
- 19:02there's a struggle, there's an action that you have to go
- 19:04through in order for you to achieve this position of Sabar
- 19:08al al Massia. Then likewise, you can take
- 19:10examples for the ladies. So whatever the ladies, for
- 19:13example, find of a sinful nature.
- 19:15Right. And I don't want to say anything
- 19:18that, you know, people are going to take offence.
- 19:21Well, let's say, for example, if, if, if a if a lady was to
- 19:27carry information from another person.
- 19:30Yeah. So when they're carrying
- 19:32information. They could be like, as they're
- 19:35about to speak, they're like, oh, wait, no, this is this is an
- 19:37ebook, for example. Like I know that this is wrong.
- 19:40So it's tough for a blah, right? Then you have people that are
- 19:43like, but I really want to tell you this.
- 19:45I really need you to know this, you know, and I'm not going to
- 19:48tell you the whole story. There's a struggle there, right?
- 19:53And that's where it comes. The difficulty there is what is
- 19:56you need to become a Maleka in order for you to be counted as
- 20:01those that are. Patient then you know Sabarin
- 20:05sabaron depending on the the tradition of the Quranic verse
- 20:08that we have. That's the second level.
- 20:11OK, So now you begin to see it's not just sitting in both
- 20:14platforms. The third is a Sabaru Alam,
- 20:19Salah Alam, Mohammed Ali, Muhammad Ali Ibad.
- 20:23So Massi Ibad and Vela Ibad is acts of worship.
- 20:26So how do you be patient with acts of worship?
- 20:30The exact same understanding. Just like you set a goal and you
- 20:33have an understanding of what you need to do to achieve it.
- 20:36Likewise with worship. You want to wake up for Phaedra
- 20:40isn't isn't how am I going to be patient for waking up for
- 20:43Phaedra right? It doesn't doesn't add up, but
- 20:47the patience there is. What like I need to know that if
- 20:50I'm staying up in the Hosseinia and I'm going for the Matam and
- 20:56the Latam, I need to be patient to not fall asleep in order for
- 21:01me not to miss a lot of sober. Why?
- 21:03Because I'm already like 11. Twelve 1:00 Right.
- 21:07So it takes patience, patience even to leave everything on a
- 21:10normal day outside Muharram, leave the Hangouts, leave the
- 21:13whatever. Why?
- 21:14Because I need to make sure that I sleep early so I can wake up
- 21:18early. So there's there's a process in
- 21:20what you want to achieve. And this is just one example.
- 21:22Anything I can do in the sense of my birthday you want to go to
- 21:24Ziad for? Example you want like I want to
- 21:27attain this level of, you know, merit going to Abdullah.
- 21:31Let me save up. Yeah, Allah, and to our.
- 21:36Listeners as well so. You need to make sacrifices, you
- 21:42need to be patient in your lifestyle in order for you,
- 21:44let's say, to save up, to go towards the Ziara.
- 21:47Why? But the whole concept is that in
- 21:50my mind, I'm working towards something.
- 21:54You need to identify it first and then work towards it in all
- 21:56three platforms, Sabar, Masi and Ibadan.
- 22:01Said, I think there's that's, that's that bird's eye view
- 22:05approach of looking at it is, is beautiful.
- 22:08And I think it immediately allows people to desist in a
- 22:14perception, which we constantly have of sabar, which is that
- 22:17sabar means to be somewhat negligent or disinvolved with
- 22:24something in a sense of, for example, if I'm being pestered
- 22:28by someone, I'll have Saba, I'll stop, for example, or a wife or
- 22:33a husband in, in, in one case or another who is going through an
- 22:38abusive relationship. Somebody in that case is I'll
- 22:41endure. I won't say anything.
- 22:43Sometimes we have this perception, as I said, that Saba
- 22:47means that you don't do anything.
- 22:49You sit back, you relax and you complain to Allah.
- 22:52And you know, we hear a lot like in certain personality types,
- 22:56people will say, I'll be quiet, I'll complain to my Lord, I'll
- 22:59complain to Allah, I'll complain I on a personal level.
- 23:02And please correct me where I'm wrong.
- 23:05I feel like it's it's it's not perhaps the most like, yeah,
- 23:14like it's, it's not pragmatic as well at the same time to just
- 23:17expect things to change and to have Sabat and wait till Allah,
- 23:20when Allah says well, Bashar al Sabarin, he doesn't say that
- 23:25victory is to the oppressed ones or to the ones who are given
- 23:28these trials. He's saying victory is given to
- 23:30the ones who have Sabat, which implies to me that if someone is
- 23:35oppressed or if someone is going through all of these Mossiba
- 23:38that we talk about in the Quran and and all these stories we
- 23:41hear and listen to, that the the victory is given to those who
- 23:45endure it with sabar rather than those who are just inflicted
- 23:49with these issues. And then we see that of course
- 23:52in the lives of the AAM Aayi Musalaam, and of course the saga
- 23:55of Karbala, the al beta AAI Musalaam, how they endured and
- 23:58how they persisted with endurance, how they then
- 24:02personified that sabar through action, say the Zaina Bibi Umal
- 24:06Baneen, Imam Sajad, Imam al Baha, all of these characters
- 24:10who witnessed in front of them what happened in the battle of,
- 24:13of, of Karbala on the day of Ashura and then used that energy
- 24:19through the suburb. They had to then create
- 24:21something of that, some energy, some form of emotional charge
- 24:27that we then still feel until today.
- 24:30I just want to read 1 snippet with your mission after the
- 24:33Battle of Sifene, Middlemont Mini and Ali Salaam wrote a
- 24:36letter for Imam Hassan. Beautiful long will.
- 24:39I'm sure many of us have read it.
- 24:41Nacho Balaghasan 31 it's it's incredible like but I'll just
- 24:46read 1 snippet from where he says these two lines.
- 24:50Accustom yourself to endure hardships, since the best trait
- 24:54of character is endurance and matters of right in all affairs.
- 24:58Resign yourself to Allah, because you will thus be
- 25:01resigning yourself to a secure shelter and a strong protector.
- 25:05You should ask only from your Lord, because in His hand is the
- 25:09old giving and also the one who can deprive.
- 25:12So I feel like that's something which.
- 25:14Allows us to understand perhaps the psychology of the Imam at
- 25:17that time and also from what he of course advised not to Imam
- 25:20Hassan, but for our benefit of source.
- 25:23Now my my primary question after a long preliminary thing intro
- 25:29when we look at. Let's say for example the 1st. 4
- 25:34imams and what he the patience he had to go through from a
- 25:38young age up until of course, where the the holy Prophet
- 25:42Muhammad sallallahu alayhi proclaimed Islam or professed it
- 25:45publicly to then, of course the death of Russell Allah and the.
- 25:48Years after the death of Russell Allah.
- 25:51And then, of course, set of Atman Zahra, all of the
- 25:53hardships she went through, Imam Hassan, the way he personified
- 25:58his sabar through the soul with Mahawya and how that's also
- 26:01misinterpreted. Yeah.
- 26:03Because a lot of people see him as the Imam of patience and Imam
- 26:06Hussein as the Imam of resistance or revolution, which
- 26:11I think isn't perhaps an incorrect methodology,
- 26:14personally speaking, in terms of the way we've semanticize it.
- 26:17Then of course Imam Sajad, alay Salaam.
- 26:19And we need not talk about Imam Sajad, says the Sajadin who was
- 26:22known for his enduring patients. When we look at it from an Imami
- 26:28perspective, is question one is the suburb.
- 26:32They have a level of suburb that is above what we can attain or
- 26:40reach on an like an as I won. The second question I have is,
- 26:45is the Saba that they had independent from one another or
- 26:49is it the same root of Saba which is manifested in different
- 26:54ways given the circumstances they were in?
- 26:55Yeah, you kind of answered the same question yourself, I don't
- 26:59think. That no, no, it's because it's.
- 27:00Good. Yeah, No, it's, it's correct.
- 27:02So, so when we look at the suburb of Amir al Mahmunin, was
- 27:06Salam Allah Alayh? Was it A cause or effect of
- 27:09something? So Amir al Mahmunin, what do we
- 27:11know about the the silence of Amir al Mahmunin?
- 27:13There was a Quranic silence behind a lot of the things that
- 27:16you did. So as we know the will, if you
- 27:19do not have supporters, then you need to practice patience until
- 27:25the time comes. So.
- 27:28He tried, he went, he spoke, said to Fatima from house to
- 27:31house, house to house in Medina, reminding the ladies of Ansar,
- 27:35do not remember, do not remember, do not remember.
- 27:38My father said this about Emir Al Munin, said this, this is
- 27:41what happened in Ghadir, house to house.
- 27:43Imagine, say the say the Fatima from house to house coming and
- 27:46still Emir Al Munin just needed 4040 men that were ready to take
- 27:52a scrap. That's all he needed.
- 27:55You know, like the next day, come meet me in this location
- 27:58with your heads shaped. That's all I need to know so I
- 28:01know that you're ready and prepared.
- 28:02Simple task. Well, maybe Leshisa what 4-5
- 28:06people came out of the hole in and he shooting 12,000 strong
- 28:11with an right 12,000 he couldn't get and so he had to endure
- 28:19patience. He himself says there's a
- 28:21prickling in the eye and a choking in my throat, but I had
- 28:24to Mama said Jad. What does he say in his hot?
- 28:27But the famous one in in sham he he alludes to that.
- 28:33He says what what Anebnum Maquet and women are and the museums
- 28:37and what Saffa and then Hamlet are looking at it to the end of
- 28:39it until he comes Anebnum Asbaru Sabarin meaning.
- 28:45Meaning yeah, yeah. So he said I'm the son of him.
- 28:50Why did he signify that? Why did he speak about that?
- 28:54There's an importance to have this character and what he goes
- 28:57through. And Mira Mamunin wasn't just.
- 29:00And even when you begin to look at the laugh at Mira Munin, what
- 29:03what he said shows us the patience.
- 29:06So as a side note, you know there's a comparison between
- 29:11Imam Ali and Harun, right? So amongst the comparisons,
- 29:16yeah. Ali and Salib I Manzilati, Harun
- 29:19Amin. So he's the next after him.
- 29:23So amongst very quickly the the things that are commonalities
- 29:28between him and Haron is Haron's son.
- 29:32What's his name? The first one is Shabba, right?
- 29:35OK. The second one is Shabbir or
- 29:38Shabbir. Oh yes, mum has a mum was saying
- 29:41titles. Yeah, but what?
- 29:42What, what? How did it happen?
- 29:43Right. So Jibrail came down when Hassan
- 29:46was born. He says give me a tub because
- 29:48they never named him before Allah, right.
- 29:50So it was called Shabbat. And Rasallah says to Gibralt
- 29:53inelisani la arabi, My my tongue is in Arabic tongue.
- 29:58So it says send me Hassana. Now linguistically in Arabic, we
- 30:02have Qaeda summit, Tasrir, Yeah. So if we have a nahar, which is
- 30:07a river, if you want to say a smaller river, what do we say?
- 30:10We say nahir or nuhair. So you have Hassan, Hussain,
- 30:16Hussain, right? So Hassan and Hussain Hussain
- 30:19just means the smaller Hassan. Shabbar, Shabbar or Shabbar and
- 30:23Shabbir, Same thing, right? So Shabbir is the smaller
- 30:26Shabbat. Now did you know Harun had a
- 30:29third son called Shabbar Shabbir Mushabbar?
- 30:34What did we have in traditions? It's called Hassan.
- 30:38So you have that commonality? Yes, you have that commonality.
- 30:43The first person after assault Allah that fought against Imam
- 30:48Ali was who war waged. The worst person after that
- 30:51waged the war against Ali, Sithrin, Jamel, Jamel straight
- 30:58after. Was it Ayesha?
- 31:00Ayesha, right, Which was the wife of the of the previous
- 31:03Prophet. You know the first person that
- 31:05waged war against the Wasi of Musa was the wife of Musa.
- 31:10Yeah, so you have these commonalities, apparently so.
- 31:13So you have it's it's it gets it gets it gets better Bellwoods
- 31:19and is to say Haroon and Musa. Musa comes, splits the river,
- 31:25does everything right, then goes for 40 days.
- 31:28He comes back. He finds them worshipping up.
- 31:31No, I do, Sir. A calf, right?
- 31:34Calf I do so he comes and grabs her own speaks to him.
- 31:40He's like wow, we just crossed the river together right and he
- 31:43says these words right. He says yeah in the home in El
- 31:46call Mr. da Afoni wakadu yakhtaluneni.
- 31:50So they found me. So the Afoni means they found me
- 31:53without supporters and they attempted to kill me.
- 31:57The same verse was used when Imam Ali was dragged in ropes
- 32:00and he passes the grave of Rasol Allah the same same same exact
- 32:04verses. Imam Ali Rasola says the exact
- 32:06same. So the understanding here is not
- 32:10the perspective that they didn't actively try to pursuit what
- 32:12they needed to do, but the time was against them.
- 32:15They did not have supporters. Imam Hassan, we always look at
- 32:20Imam Hassan to be this person that is silent, sits down while
- 32:25he wages. He waged wars with Emir MOT
- 32:27Munin and Sfin. He was a flag bearer.
- 32:30Sfin Emir MOT Munin gives the banner to his son Muhammad Ibn
- 32:35Qanafiya, right, very well known personality, even in the
- 32:38warfare, he's very well known. But he gives him the flag and he
- 32:41says go. And then he says as soon as he
- 32:44went to the battlefield, he sees the skies.
- 32:46The light in the sky was blacked out from the arrows that were
- 32:49being showered something out of the movies.
- 32:51And he sometimes you see these things.
- 32:53He comes back a minute when he says, what's wrong?
- 32:56He says, father, as soon as I saw that, I had fear in my
- 32:59heart, so I I returned. And he says the famous line, if
- 33:02you can't, you have a gene that's not from me, it's from
- 33:06your mother. Then he calls him on Hassan and
- 33:09he gives him the banner and he attains victory.
- 33:12He says the sons of Hassan and the sons of Ali and Fatima do
- 33:16not have any fear within their heart as he went to the
- 33:19battlefield. But he, he brought war.
- 33:21He, he, he fought Muawiyah, he fought in the greatest of wars,
- 33:26right side by side. So that happened after the war,
- 33:31right? Yeah.
- 33:32That his closest of companions were brought out and then they
- 33:35attacked him. But it's not the fact that I
- 33:38didn't attempt it. The Times was against me again,
- 33:40same as Imam Ali didn't have the supporters.
- 33:43Imam Hussein, you know, sometimes we mention Imam
- 33:45Hussein as the person that Rose Zen.
- 33:49Imam Hassan passed away. When Hassan passed away, he had
- 33:5310 years. Imam Hussein was silent, Sir.
- 33:57But no one pays attention to that when I was alive, ma'am.
- 34:01Hussein was patient, was silent, you know the ways that he was.
- 34:06So he was patient on Imam Ali's being cursed on the pulpits,
- 34:11Sir, his wealth was taken, there's his lands were taken,
- 34:15the Shia were attacked. All of these things Imam percent
- 34:18was patient upon. There are different ways that he
- 34:21was obviously preparing for the next step, but that's a
- 34:27different area of discussion. But he wasn't just sitting at
- 34:30home waiting for the right time. He was actively doing things.
- 34:33Can I ask a question on that with your permission to say
- 34:35that? So if your mum, if Imam Hussein
- 34:37I son was patient in those ten years.
- 34:40So he saw and obviously we know in the treaty it says if I die
- 34:44first after the death of malaria, it goes to Imam
- 34:48Hussein. If malaria dies first comes back
- 34:51to me, the Khalaf Hassan. So we know this and we know in
- 34:53those ten years Imam Hussein was, you could argue at it from
- 34:57looking at it from from one point of view that Imam Hussein
- 35:00was waiting patiently for Maharia to die such that it
- 35:03could be returned to him. That's what you could you could
- 35:06perhaps take from it. And that when Yazid was given
- 35:09that Khilafah and Walid Ibn Ottbah and Marwan Ibn al Hakam
- 35:14spoke to Imam Hussain in Mecca and he says a man like me will
- 35:20never give allegiance to a man like him.
- 35:22And of course, in that moment, he, we can imagine that the
- 35:26Imam, perhaps they had no intention for an uprising when
- 35:30he was, I don't want to say chased out of, but when he was
- 35:32forced to leave Mecca under circumstances, it was to save
- 35:35the life of him and his Holy Family.
- 35:38But why did the Imam then choose to be vocal?
- 35:44I know, of course, there were instances prior to Stamina Mina,
- 35:47for example, where the Imam came out and scolded the scholars of
- 35:51the time. He said you guys should be like
- 35:54stepping up, like I'm going to have to pull my weight if you
- 35:57guys can't. Yeah, yeah, of course.
- 35:59And he stuck it on the scholars and good for him.
- 36:02And he he showed that there's, there is.
- 36:05And I know there's a political angle to this within the well,
- 36:08that's OK, discussion and whatnot.
- 36:10But of course he's showing that there there is a role for
- 36:13religious authority to have in governance, right.
- 36:17So if he had that trait, then. But then prior to that had the
- 36:23silence, of course. What was it that triggered then
- 36:27a a change in heart or for example, to manifest that
- 36:30patients in a different way. The characteristic of patients
- 36:32from being less vocal to them saying no, I will stand up with
- 36:36my sword and I'll never bow to oppression.
- 36:38What? What is it that kind of?
- 36:40So it's it's, it's, it's there's a man that you're in.
- 36:43It's always about the Zaman that you're in.
- 36:45So there's a man that Imam Hussein was in, even though
- 36:48prior to that, because you could allude to the fact that, oh, he
- 36:52was supposed to attain it before Mahawi.
- 36:54Yeah, but that's not the only thing that was in the covenant,
- 36:57right. So the solar, a lot of things,
- 37:00nothing, nothing he he abided by.
- 37:03So it doesn't doesn't come as a surprise to Imam by saying that
- 37:05this is just another point that he didn't abide by.
- 37:08The the surprise came when the appointment of Yazid occurred
- 37:12because he was just so openly disbeliever, basically.
- 37:16And that's why it says Allel Islam is Salaam yes, Omar Birra
- 37:21and mutli Azid Zen and Islam is gone.
- 37:24If if this is the person that's going to lead them, right?
- 37:28And so his attempt wasn't to directly go and attack him,
- 37:31right? His attempt was let me go and
- 37:33preach the correct Islam. When he sent the letters out, no
- 37:36one replied to him except the Shia within Kufa.
- 37:39OK. And that's why he journeyed with
- 37:41his family, even though, yes, we can talk about the metaphysical
- 37:44where he knew exactly what was going to happen.
- 37:46It was, you know, prescribed from the time of Adam Alayhi 7
- 37:48right? But he had the Hodja and he went
- 37:53towards Korfa because he wanted to establish the religion of his
- 37:57grandfather and Almorum Arafa Anil Anil Monka.
- 38:03So he has that. So he's going to Korfa, not
- 38:05necessarily wanting to clash swords, you know, with with
- 38:10Benny Omayeh. So that was the journey.
- 38:13Obviously there's a whole different interpretation of it,
- 38:15but every single Zaman needs something to occur.
- 38:18And what you're saying is Imam Persein on one side spoke out,
- 38:22but Imam Hassan before he's come and read in some of the
- 38:24dialogues that Imam Hassan had with Maawih and his hench men.
- 38:27And you're like, this is actually what Imam Hassan said
- 38:29you'll be like, you'll be, you'll actually be like, what's
- 38:33the word? Gobsmacked.
- 38:34Yeah, at the, at the level of of what he said to them and put
- 38:38them in their place. Before sorry, before you ask
- 38:41your question, if you don't mind I have one last follow up please
- 38:44on this point. Please tell me, you know,
- 38:46there's the that theory of, and I'm putting you on the spot
- 38:50saying forgive me, that red Shiism, black Shiism theory by
- 38:54Doctor Ali Shariati. OK, that for example, the, the
- 38:58red Shia are the revolutionary, are the emotionally passionate
- 39:03Shia who will look to stand up against oppression.
- 39:07That ideology is rooted in and from Karbala and the the black
- 39:13Shia who are perhaps more traditionally ritualistic, more
- 39:18protectionist in some ways or preserve, preserve preservatory
- 39:22of like traditional or surly principles and so on.
- 39:25Now my question is. Which ones are red?
- 39:28The red ones. The the red is the
- 39:29revolutionary, revolutionary. The black is OK.
- 39:32Yeah, so. The scholarship Scholarship.
- 39:34Yeah, or like more passive forms of activism as opposed to active
- 39:39forms of activism, if that makes sense.
- 39:42Is there a right or wrong? And for example, I know this is
- 39:45not directly linked to a subal. How do we know when to do what?
- 39:48Because, for example, this day and age exactly Suburb.
- 39:51Yeah, yeah. Go on.
- 39:52In this day and age, this is my point.
- 39:53So in this day and age, when you see this oppression around the
- 39:55world, of course, we know well Bashful Sabarin, and we know
- 39:58that the the furage is what we pray for.
- 40:00The furage is the ultimate relief for those who are
- 40:03enduring the suffering. But how do we know how to act?
- 40:06What is the best manifestation of our suburb?
- 40:09Is it speaking up? Because we should and we we
- 40:12could. Or is it to endure and to wait
- 40:15and to pray and to to build systems behind the scenes?
- 40:19What is the kind of the best advice you can give to to the
- 40:21general community in terms of communal patients?
- 40:24See, it's, it's one of those questions that it it needs a
- 40:31like a deep dive in itself. It it does.
- 40:33Yeah. Because what does Osola says?
- 40:35He said. What does Osola say?
- 40:36Sorry, he says Hassan and Hussein, Imam Karma, oh God,
- 40:43meaning what? Whether they rise stunning.
- 40:46Hassan had a revolution, Hassan had a revolution.
- 40:48Imam hasn't had a period of silence.
- 40:50Imam Hassan had a period of silence.
- 40:51So it's not the fact that we need to cocoon revolution only
- 40:55towards Imam Hussein and that's what we've done.
- 40:58You know, yes, it was a greatest tragedy and there's no day like
- 41:01your day about Abdullah. But the understanding is.
- 41:05And if we want to take it into perspective, yes, I understand
- 41:08from a theological perspective, Imam Hussain was written prior
- 41:12that he will be the one that sacrificed in Karabella.
- 41:15But the question is, if Hassan and Hussain were switched, do
- 41:20you think Imam Hassan had the capability and the bravery to
- 41:23take Imam Hussain's position and do what he did?
- 41:25Yeah. And likewise.
- 41:27So each Imam, if we agree that they're from the same light
- 41:31because of the time. So if if Imam, let's say Jawad
- 41:35had a period of time like Imam Assad, that between two empires
- 41:38fighting and a period where you can spread the slap, would you
- 41:40not have done it? We've done it.
- 41:43I said there are people, I said, let's say look at the Zaidi
- 41:47faith, right. Zaidi faith amongst the the top
- 41:52understandings or the guideline of who to follow as an Imam.
- 41:57Do you know what it is? Is he needed to have been a
- 41:59revolutionary? Yeah, that's so that's that's
- 42:02why they go through Zaid, right. And they go towards Barca, they
- 42:05go towards Zaid, the Shahid. Why?
- 42:06Because he rose against because if you do not rise with the
- 42:09sword, therefore you're not an Imam.
- 42:12We don't have that faith in in Shah Islam.
- 42:14No, we say in for every time, every period, every Zaman, there
- 42:19is an obligation upon the Muslim and he knows.
- 42:22But throughout there is a certain principle that's there
- 42:25if the guideline is met. Therefore this so Imam Ali
- 42:29likewise, like we said, if 40 arise then I revolt, if there's
- 42:34not, then I'm silent. Ma'am has said likewise Imam
- 42:37Hussain, Imam Sandak says it as well to one of his companions.
- 42:41When the Qurasani comes, he tells him I need proper
- 42:45companions. Qurasani comes, he goes, I have
- 42:47100,000 swords waiting for you. True, he says I have 100,000
- 42:51swords. So he says, OK, no problem, turn
- 42:54Norman Nana, go and sit in the tenor.
- 42:57Right. The oven equivalent to our
- 42:59listeners so farasan is like, why would you punish me like the
- 43:02Afinia and you know, Yeah, you know she.
- 43:05Says you don't want to sit. He goes no, no, please don't
- 43:08don't punish me like that so he says, OK, now sit here start
- 43:11talking to him, you know how's Karasan?
- 43:13How's this how's the people, how's the followers?
- 43:16And then Husham in Mekki, if I'm not mistaken, walks in Salaam
- 43:20alaikum alekum Salaam husham. Can you go please sit in the
- 43:24tenor Sam Annualta and takes off his sandals and goes sits
- 43:28inside, No question. Khalasani is looking back every
- 43:32two seconds. Mum's talking to him, he's
- 43:33looking back and he says do you want to go see what's inside?
- 43:37He goes. Actually, I really.
- 43:38Do want to see what's inside? So he goes.
- 43:40And sees he's folded his arms and legs, sitting down,
- 43:44chilling. Yeah, chilling, maybe uttering
- 43:46words of the Quran, maybe thicker.
- 43:50Tells him come out, comes out, wipes his bit of dust off, walks
- 43:55off, looks at the Quran sun. He says to him, how many of them
- 43:58do you have in 100,000? He says, well not one.
- 44:03Imam says if there was 40, it would be an obligation on me to
- 44:08rise. So there's certain things if
- 44:10they occur within our life, then we have to act in a certain way.
- 44:13So for you and I, for you and I, we know Imam's waiting for 313,
- 44:19right? How do we work towards that?
- 44:22Because that's the only thing that's waiting Mama's waiting
- 44:23on, right 313. How do we work on that, work on
- 44:25ourselves, work on our communities, create, you know,
- 44:29systems where we can preach knowledge, much like the podcast
- 44:33as an example, right? And it's, it's, it's, it's 100%
- 44:36application here. Do I do that?
- 44:40Is it? If I, if I don't have that
- 44:41response, what else can I do, Sir?
- 44:43So the first level is I need to acquaint myself with the
- 44:47knowledge necessary. That's the first thing, Sir.
- 44:50So I can't just be like, I'm a practising Muslim and I'm just
- 44:54going to pray and fast, full stop.
- 44:56There's there's levels. I'm not saying it's a bad thing
- 44:58just to pray and fast. I said hunt a lion.
- 44:59There's a large quantity of people that don't pray Sahaya.
- 45:02And that's what we're struggling with.
- 45:04And we're having a discussion of, oh, you have to pray rather
- 45:07than how can we elevate in the ranks?
- 45:10To be of the. Companions of the Imam.
- 45:11And that's that's the sad truth. That is the sad truth.
- 45:14You know, we're still discussing things like what's a what's a
- 45:17honestly, I was with Munil, say Munil Khabbaz at one stage in my
- 45:20life. And the questions that was posed
- 45:23to him is, what's a transparent hijab for a lady?
- 45:25That's mad. I, I still remember, I, I
- 45:27remember it very, very, very vividly.
- 45:31And this was over 10 years ago. But that's the discussions that
- 45:36and the questions that a community asks is indicative of
- 45:39what, of the level of knowledge that they have in practice.
- 45:41That's very true. So what do we need to do?
- 45:44We need to educate the community, Sir.
- 45:47Educate ourselves. Once we've educated ourselves,
- 45:49then we'll know. What to look for?
- 45:51How to work on ourselves, what we need to achieve on the next
- 45:55level, where we are, where we need to be.
- 45:57So yeah. And that's patience because
- 45:59that's Ebada and that falls hand in hand.
- 46:02Then when we talk about, and you said this previously and you're
- 46:05like when you're mentioning it, what do we need to do to just
- 46:08sit home? Or is it a passive thing?
- 46:10Throughout Imam Ali onwards, they all tried the utmost to do
- 46:15as much as they could for the community and for themselves and
- 46:17for their families. But Allah doesn't give you
- 46:20something just like that. Sametha and Musa Musa, Allah
- 46:23could have easily just opened the ocean so higher or given the
- 46:27springs, you easily be like that.
- 46:30Come to the ocean and I'll, I'll split it for you.
- 46:33It says no, no, make an effort. Then I'll come a little bit.
- 46:36I suck because you make an action, then we'll come to you,
- 46:40show us that you're actually moving in the right direction,
- 46:43and then we'll assist you. So you have these things that
- 46:47are just laying there in plain sight for us.
- 46:49What are we doing to achieve what we want?
- 46:50I said. But then I want to perfect
- 46:52myself. What knowledge do I have?
- 46:54What knowledge do I feel like I need to attain first to become a
- 46:58better Muslim to you know, help my family circle 1st and then
- 47:03draw the bigger circle, my community, bigger circle, you
- 47:06know, my country or community or.
- 47:08The world at large, do you? Know what I mean?
- 47:11So knowledge is is at the forefront, absolute forefront.
- 47:15And there's and obviously we all have limitations.
- 47:17And I know you spoke about limitations.
- 47:19We all have limitations. And even in the Quran, you know,
- 47:23the greatest of the great had limitations on their suburb.
- 47:27And I said the Mariam shungarat yalehtini MIT tuk ablahada O
- 47:31Tunessian mensi. I reached a level that she
- 47:34couldn't take it anymore. She's one of the four greatest.
- 47:40Yeah. But was there a roof in Karbala?
- 47:44Yeah. Was there a roof in Karbala?
- 47:48No, there's no roof. There was no roof.
- 47:51There was no like, oh, this is enough or I've had enough.
- 47:55Ayub Sabo. Ayub, Yeah, we speak.
- 47:57Sabo Rabbi in Lacad Messenidor, it's inflicted me and you are
- 48:07the most merciful the saying that you know, I'm at a moment
- 48:10now that I need your but on the on the flip side, Karbala, it's
- 48:17it's never about this is my and it is nothing more that a person
- 48:23could endure that they didn't anyone person didn't endure that
- 48:25say that Zainab didn't endure. There's there's nothing you
- 48:28know, say the say the Fatima could only endure living in this
- 48:33world after a Surallah few months, a few months only after
- 48:37a surallah she enjoyed say the Zainab.
- 48:40So we're looking at Sabar al Ibadi.
- 48:42She knew for a fact she had the mission that was in front of
- 48:45her. So she had to be patient really
- 48:48like she didn't shed a tea for her sons until she got back to
- 48:51Medina when her mission is complete.
- 48:53She only lasted a year after Karbala.
- 48:58The idea is Mount Passein. It shouldn't start up Karbala
- 49:00every time something happens. But all of that was Mount
- 49:06Passein. Kakunit to how?
- 49:08When am I Nezelibi and Nahu, the anila?
- 49:11Whatever has befallen me, it's enough for me to know that it's
- 49:16in the eyes of Allah, Subhanahu to Allah.
- 49:20So he kept giving, kept giving, kept giving.
- 49:23The Wasiya for Imam Alayhi Salaam they gave to Imam Hassan,
- 49:28to Imam Hussain and from Hussein to Sejat, from Sejat to Bhattar.
- 49:32Bhakar gives it to Imam's side up.
- 49:33You know he says isbir al AL Haq boilo kana mura.
- 49:39Be patient upon the truth or on the path of the truth, even even
- 49:46if it is has a bitter taste, However bitter it is, you make
- 49:50sure you're steadfast and patient on the truth.
- 49:53Man Hussein's the pinnacle of that pinnacle of that doesn't
- 49:59not matter what he needed to sacrifice for Allah Subhanahu
- 50:02Ta'ala, as long as you know they say that the the poet says fit
- 50:06in Kanadino jeddi Len yestekin illa bidemi ferasio Ferrini.
- 50:13If the my the religion of my grandfather will not be
- 50:15steadfast and placed on the correct path except with my
- 50:20blood, then O swords come in, take me and you begin to see
- 50:27Sabar yani yaman ajazet le sabarahimalaiketa Samar.
- 50:34So nowhere in history do, do you?
- 50:35Find that that the skies and the earth are, you know, like in awe
- 50:41of the level of. Patience that a person has has
- 50:45showcased Yani. Yani has something if you're
- 50:50going to the Muslim of Karbala, where do you start?
- 50:52Where do you finish any Akbar Akbar?
- 50:56And you know, you read traditions that say Imam Hussein
- 50:59reached a level in Karbala. So 4 * 4 times Sakina says that
- 51:05I, I, I heard the breath of my father leave him.
- 51:09So we've been next to people that have passed away.
- 51:12We hear the last breaths, how they they struggle to to inhale,
- 51:16to exhale. She says 3 times of the four was
- 51:19with Ali Lekbar. But ma'am, I was in his
- 51:22patience. The first of which when he came
- 51:24asked permission. You know how hard for it is for
- 51:27a father to even think about his son being hurt.
- 51:31The second is when he came asking for water.
- 51:35He says, I, I, I'm at a position where I cannot give you water.
- 51:40The third is when he sees him on the plains of Karbala.
- 51:43You, you know, you look at Azhar Azhar Abdullah Raviya and you
- 51:49you had a position in Karbala where you're holding a six month
- 51:53old. And do you think what a six
- 51:55month old looks like? And you see an arrow in his
- 51:58neck, you know, and, and the baby is fluttering out of it,
- 52:02doesn't know what's going on. There's pain.
- 52:04And he's looking at you as the father like take this pain away
- 52:06from me. And then at the last moment he
- 52:09hugs about Abdullah in the traditions Salman Fussain's in
- 52:13Karbala. You don't know what's happening
- 52:14The the Sky's the sky had to help him up for saying at that
- 52:18moment. And Karbala, he doesn't know
- 52:20what to do. He doesn't know.
- 52:22Does he go back to the tents? How am I going to show her above
- 52:25a six month old? How am I supposed to show her?
- 52:28How can anyone bear to see it? Or do I stay here and bury him?
- 52:32I don't know what to do. You know what the traditions
- 52:33say? That a voice from the sky told
- 52:36him that Huyah Hussein in the Lahu Moraliatwan that Allah had
- 52:41to intervene and tell him off. Hussein, it's OK.
- 52:45I'm seeing everything that you're going.
- 52:47Through for saying and. When he goes back and he had to
- 52:50bury him behind the tents, he had to bury him, you know, with
- 52:55the edge of his sword. That's how small the body was.
- 52:58That's how small. Do you know how the enemies, say
- 53:01the Zeinab sees the enemies? What they did to Ali Azhar, They
- 53:05were trying to find the body because there was one group that
- 53:09didn't have a head to put on a spear.
- 53:12You know, Ahmad of Nasad, in the traditions, he had a spear.
- 53:16He said, I saw Hussein going behind the tents.
- 53:18So he's taking the spear. And he's, he's, he's he's like
- 53:22placing it firmly into the ground to see if it attaches to
- 53:25something. They say until once when he dug
- 53:29it into the ground, he lifts it up.
- 53:31And it's the level of the. Yeah.
- 53:35And what, what kind of patience do you have to endure in Karbala
- 53:39to, to be at the at the, at the forefront of an example for us.
- 53:43And whatever we go through, we cannot come close.
- 53:48I think to, to understanding what happened.
- 53:49You know, that's what we have of narrations.
- 53:52What happened in Karbala is something else.
- 53:54When the imams say, if you truly knew what the reality of Karbala
- 53:58was, you would die from your things that we we cannot
- 54:02comprehend things that they saw that Zeynep saw Zeynep comes
- 54:06back towards Medina. What happens her own husband in
- 54:0840 days on her own husband? Mum Sajjad speaking to her
- 54:13husband Abdullah Zainab comes close.
- 54:16He says to Sajjad. Sajjad, who's this outsider move
- 54:22her from? It's his wife, move her.
- 54:24I do not recognize my own wife. What happened to Zainab?
- 54:28What happens to Zainab in Karbala?
- 54:31Any patients here? There's a level, but it has its
- 54:33effect on you. So.
- 54:39I I think when, when we're looking at.
- 54:41This, this faculty of patients, it's.
- 54:45It's not something as simple as you know, we think it is or, or
- 54:50it's practice or it's application.
- 54:52It's something far greater, you know, to, to, for us to call
- 54:55ourselves patient and call someone like Zainab patient.
- 54:59It's it's unfair to call myself patient.
- 55:02Absolute injustice, but insha'allah we can we can aim to
- 55:07be of those that call themselves, you know, Zainab
- 55:10Hosseinis and at least try to follow in the footsteps
- 55:15insha'allah. Insha'allah, we owe it to them,
- 55:18Allah, very least we owe it to them.
- 55:20Yeah. And we when when we go to these
- 55:23majinis and we hear them Mossad And what the Arab, what Imam
- 55:27Hussein went through wasn't just patience.
- 55:28And he had what a heart he had. Yeah.
- 55:31Daniel, Allah, I don't know how he handled all I don't know.
- 55:34And you gave the example of of Ravi and he has a father and we
- 55:38think about the Abush, the Harrow and the neck and all of
- 55:40this. I I don't know.
- 55:41I know I what Hamdallah, as he says, Robbie had that terrible.
- 55:45He understood Allah. That's the part which he
- 55:47understood. That's the Clark.
- 55:49He wasn't everything to Allah. That's that's the thing though.
- 55:52It's like, it's not, it's not you, you know, like it's going
- 55:58to sound crazy, but hear me out. Something's happening to you,
- 56:03like, God forbid. Yeah, you, you're, you know,
- 56:07you, you see a fight on the street or whatever and the one
- 56:10man is fighting 10 guys. There comes a point where the
- 56:13guy gives up. He says just, you know.
- 56:16But in this case, the Imam is not just giving up and saying,
- 56:19look, I, I, I succumb to what's going to happen.
- 56:24I, I, I concede. No, like the Imam is saying,
- 56:29yeah, Allah take whatever you want from me and he's willingly
- 56:32doing it and he knows that there's the, the, the bigger
- 56:35picture, the divine picture. Driven by Hawk.
- 56:39Do you know? Do you know what's interesting?
- 56:40This is that that that's the part, sorry, say that's that's
- 56:43the part which is just incredible about the, the the
- 56:47mentality that the Imam had from the start until his last breath.
- 56:53What your point you just said just rang, rang a bell.
- 56:56I remember reading Hamid and the Muslim and go go into the amount
- 57:02of of in the description of what he said.
- 57:07But he says, you know, he says I've never seen a man that
- 57:11wounded fighting with such conviction.
- 57:15And he says all the wounds for ABBA Abdullah, what is in his
- 57:18front, nothing on his back. Why?
- 57:20Because it's face to face on, you know, in in one of this, you
- 57:24know when I say that that Imam said to us, if you knew what
- 57:27actually happened in Karbala, you would die.
- 57:30Amongst the things there's some secrets that we need to revisit.
- 57:36So you go to Azharat nahin Moqaddesa siaraf Imam Mehdi
- 57:41Azhalafar Joshalif is telling us what occurred in it's a maktail
- 57:44from one Mehdi's point of view, right?
- 57:47So if I remember the words he says Fehwaite, Illinois Al Ali
- 57:54Jariha. So you fell to the ground
- 57:58wounded, right? Not killed, not killed.
- 58:02Jariha means you're still wounded.
- 58:04What's the next line? So you know how we have the
- 58:09understanding that Imam Hussein, after he was killed and his head
- 58:14was removed, then the horses trampled him.
- 58:17Zyatna, how was I say it says he was still alive.
- 58:20Is as the horses trample him. As the horse trample him, he
- 58:25says your eyes Navranthafian ilabatic as you're being
- 58:31trampled, you're looking at the tents and your family members.
- 58:37Danny, how chivalry. And you're thinking at that
- 58:43moment, what's Zainab doing at this very moment?
- 58:46Tell the Zainabi it's not just anything you know.
- 58:50That's the epitome of someone that is practising patience
- 58:54while standing on that tech. When Allah grant lost the
- 59:01intercession. And sure, love.
- 59:03About Abdullah say the Shahada Ali Salaam shahada of Karbala, I
- 59:08see Iran of Sham and all of all of those who us, of us who have
- 59:15attended the Majalis, Inshallah, we pray to our last Montala to
- 59:18have the intercession of the Imam in this world and the
- 59:21hereafter and for the ziyada of the Imam Ayah Salaam, his family
- 59:27and his companions as well. What more can we say?
- 59:31Honestly, with the Musab Abab Abdullah Ayah Salaam, there will
- 59:34never be a day or there will never be a year where we revisit
- 59:40the Makatin and we don't feel the same pain if not more.
- 59:44For over 1000 years people have tried to understand Karbala and
- 59:49as you said said it will never be understood.
- 59:51Someone were to understand it, they would themselves would
- 59:54perish and this is the promise of a last Pontala that Karbala
- 59:59will be avenged and our responsibility is to try and be
- 1:00:02amongst those who are companions of the Avenger of Karbala
- 1:00:05inshallah. So we we work towards that
- 1:00:08Inshallah. Say the blower.
- 1:00:10Thank you as all. Thank you for.
- 1:00:11Having me thank you for the opportunity to to shed tears
- 1:00:16through your your. It's a little bit and we are, we
- 1:00:20are, but. Vibrations of the Mossad it's
- 1:00:22it's it's crazy and in short Allah we pray you live a
- 1:00:26lifelong. As we take a lot of services,
- 1:00:28you be told the opportunity. To tell us, in short, Allah.
- 1:00:31Happy you say my love, bless you always your family and give you
