• 1:13
Speaker 1: It is at the Topwater Grill, 815 Avenue O in San Leon, texas, 77539.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: It happens in two weeks, yeah, september 28th, and the show is 8 am until 4 pm.
• 1:31
Speaker 1: We are going to be on the air from 10 am until 1 pm.
• 1:36
Speaker 1: That's what we've decided to do this year.
• 1:38
Speaker 1: That's something new for us, because in the past we open when the car show opens.
• 1:42
Speaker 1: Well, this is a cruise-in car show, a judged cruise-in car show, and we've discovered over the past couple of years we're there and the cars are still coming in.
• 1:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, so what we're going to do is we're going to do our regular start time at 10 am and run it until 1.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: And then the car show ends at 4 o'clock.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: But here's the real kicker with this show it is on the point of Galveston Bay.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: So basically, you're on a little peninsula, if you will, right there where the top water.
• 2:14
Speaker 2: It's not that wide.
• 2:14
Speaker 2: It's not that wide.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: And they've got a palapa out there with a great big, huge covered patio.
• 2:20
Speaker 1: It's beautiful, and all of the water and all of the great car shots that you can take of your car With water background.
• 2:28
Speaker 2: I've got several just taking pictures of the sunrise for the past few years that we've done.
• 2:32
Speaker 2: They're excellent, beautiful pictures.
• 2:33
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a beautiful setting down there and we encourage you.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: If you're not going to show your car and, by the way, it's $30 cash to show it and they take the money in the morning of the show, so it's easy Don't have to pre-register and let's see Classes include.
• 2:52
Speaker 1: I'm going to do the whole thing, since he's not here.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: Well, I think we could talk to him.
• 2:57
Speaker 3: We're not going to have the video, why?
• 3:00
Speaker 3: Not Because he's having a little trouble kicking the video.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: Oh, there he is.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Woody are you there, woody.
• 3:07
  Speaker 2: I'm here.
• 3:08
Speaker 1: Well, what the hell?
• 3:10
Speaker 4: I don't see my video though.
• 3:12
Speaker 4: Well, we can see you oh okay.
• 3:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, we can see you, so there's no worries there.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: Well, you can see, we're color-coordinated today.
• 3:21
  Speaker 2: We are there.
• 3:22
Speaker 2: You go Back to Jeff being the Oreo.
• 3:24
Speaker 1: We're wearing our crimson red for Roll Tide Roll Alabama.
• 3:30
Speaker 4: This is the Toyo that, since my life, works for.
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: Toyo.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: Okay Well, you go with what you got.
• 3:35
Speaker 1: I'm going to go with what I got, hey man.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: So Car Show man, you know, these years seem to be clicking by pretty quick, don't you know?
• 3:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, this is number six and I'm telling you, the response I'm getting is overwhelming.
• 3:49
  Speaker 4: So what's changed?
• 3:50
Speaker 4: Well, we took the show, you know, two years ago.
• 3:54
Speaker 4: We were dominated by new Corvettes, new Mopars, new Mustangs, and that's not what I set the show up to.
• 4:03
Speaker 4: Be Right, I set the show up to be a classic car show.
• 4:08
Speaker 4: So now we limit the show to 20 years old or older, so we're starting in 2004 and below.
• 4:17
Speaker 1: So I could bring the Corvette.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: Not that I would compete in all of that, but I would fit into the category.
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: Mine's a 2001.
• 4:25
Speaker 1: Absolutely Well, it'll be a first showing for me on the show field, as it were.
• 4:32
Speaker 4: We'll put it in for that car.
• 4:34
Speaker 1: What happens, you never know, yeah exactly, so I may just if it's a nice day, I'm going to take the Corvette.
• 4:40
Speaker 3: I think, I think you should.
• 4:44
Speaker 4: The Lord upstairs has blessed us every year?
• 4:46
  Speaker 3: Yeah, he has.
• 4:47
Speaker 4: Yes, we had a storm like a week before one year, wiping out the parking lot.
• 4:54
Speaker 2: And the pergola thing.
• 4:55
Speaker 4: So Robert at Topwater was able to repair everything and get it up and running in time for the show.
• 5:01
Speaker 4: So I'm saying my prayers every night and hoping for good weather.
• 5:08
Speaker 1: Well, we're counting on it and I'm sure that their prayers will be answered.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: It's that time of year where car shows are just beginning to heat up for the fall car show season, and you got a good one down there.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: I don't know whether you heard me or not, but when we were padding time waiting for you to get your internet connection working, I told everybody.
• 5:28
Speaker 1: I said you know, this is one of those shows that you're going to bring your camera.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: I hope you got a good cell phone with a camera on it, because you'll be able to have pictures of your car with an absolutely stunning background.
• 5:44
Speaker 4: And we can add a couple of ladies if you would like ladies posed with your car, with an absolutely stunning background.
• 5:46
Speaker 4: And we can add a couple of ladies if you would like.
• 5:47
Speaker 4: Ladies posed with your car, we will have those on site.
• 5:51
Speaker 4: I think I'm going to bring mine.
• 5:52
  Speaker 4: Individual rental.
• 5:54
Speaker 1: I'm going to bring mine with me.
• 5:55
Speaker 1: I'm not quite in the old codger realm that you are, and some of the other horny old guys are so that's not me.
• 6:03
Speaker 1: I'm not going to do that, but I will.
• 6:05
Speaker 1: I might bring Leslie, and so we'll see how that works out, but at any rate it's a great venue and if you bring your vet and if I'm a judge, I can be bought.
• 6:15
  Speaker 2: Yes, you can.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: So there you go.
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Well, you're not a judge, one of his judges, no, no, no.
• 6:21
Speaker 1: But you can be one of our judges.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: I'm very judgmental, I know that.
• 6:26
Speaker 4: One thing I need to mention is I've heard from Robert that you know most of the classic car guys there that come and show their car don't drink and drive.
• 6:36
Speaker 4: Okay, so the bar is actually suffering during the show we do our, even with us there we need to get as many people into the bar, so if you're bringing somebody with you and you want to get them a toddy, send them in.
• 6:53
Speaker 1: let's get some toddies flowing, for those people Are there going to be toddies out there under the pavilion, the paloppo.
• 7:01
Speaker 4: Well, I can see Bloody Mary's coming.
• 7:03
Speaker 4: You guys, you know us, don't you?
• 7:07
Speaker 4: We're on our way.
• 7:07
Speaker 4: As you know, I gave up drinking in October of 2023.
• 7:11
  Speaker 4: Well, congratulations.
• 7:14
Speaker 4: I'm closing in on my first year of pure Sobriety.
• 7:18
Speaker 2: We can still leave you a tab.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, we can leave you the tab.
• 7:21
  Speaker 3: Oh, that's not a problem.
• 7:24
  Speaker 2: We're in 50 countries.
• 7:25
  Speaker 2: We've got witnesses.
• 7:29
Speaker 4: But another thing I wanted to talk about are you all seeing in the marketplace what I'm seeing in the marketplace?
• 7:35
Speaker 4: It is a buyer's market right now.
• 7:38
Speaker 4: Oh really, if you've got money in your pocket and you want a classic car, you can get them bargain basement priced.
• 7:47
Speaker 1: I got a friend of mine that is looking for a Restomod, a very nice Restomod C2 Roadster and I know that you probably know people.
• 8:02
Speaker 4: Like I say, anybody that's got one for sale is constant.
• 8:05
Speaker 4: I've taken my wagon from $80,000 down to $60,000 and still haven't had a bite.
• 8:13
  Speaker 4: Really.
• 8:14
Speaker 2: Wow, that's a pretty vehicle too.
• 8:16
Speaker 2: I like it, it is, it's a wagon, it's a Pontiac when it gets down to 20, let me know.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: And it's a recent respray on that car, isn't it?
• 8:26
Speaker 4: Yeah, it was repainted in January yeah.
• 8:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, so same colors right.
• 8:32
Speaker 4: Well, basically we went with a PPG candy apple this time instead of the House of Color candy apple, gotcha, okay.
• 8:39
Speaker 4: Well, that works for me A little less flaking, but still pretty vibrant.
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: Are you going?
• 8:43
  Speaker 4: to show it.
• 8:44
Speaker 4: No, I don't show it in my own show.
• 8:47
Speaker 4: That would not be proper.
• 8:48
Speaker 1: Well, no, I mean, you could show it off.
• 8:49
Speaker 1: You could show it off, not in competition.
• 8:52
Speaker 4: We would be at the show.
• 8:53
Speaker 2: Well, he parks it by us, he parks it right where we're at.
• 8:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, I usually park it right up front.
• 8:57
Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, across the market right now you can negotiate, I don't care what they're putting online, you can negotiate that price down.
• 9:07
Speaker 4: And I've seen and been in this business long enough now to see that it is a presidential electioneer anomaly and it happens every four years.
• 9:20
Speaker 4: Really doesn't matter who's running or who wins, but classic car prices tank just before the election, really, yes, and they don't really come back until February, march.
• 9:36
Speaker 1: So what do you reckon is the problem there?
• 9:41
Speaker 4: You know everybody's concerned about their money.
• 9:44
  Speaker 4: Inflation's rampant.
• 9:45
Speaker 4: They're tight pocketbooks and what money they do have and are willing to spend on a car that's just going to be a toy for them basically is just going to sit there.
• 9:58
Speaker 4: They're not going to make that investment until they see what's going to happen with you.
• 10:02
Speaker 3: Well, it's also school starting this time of year, whether you're talking about grade school, high school or even college.
• 10:08
Speaker 3: You've got a lot of expenses going on and, like you say, the uncertainty of the election.
• 10:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, but I'm just letting shoppers know.
• 10:17
Speaker 4: If you've got pocket money and you want to go out and get something, you can get it at a reasonable price now so, in other words, don't wait till the meekum auction.
• 10:26
Speaker 2: Now is your time, now is the time well, meekum was just on a couple three weeks ago from uh can't remember which city here no, no, I'm here.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was on tv a few weeks ago and it didn't look like well.
• 10:37
Speaker 2: Some were overpriced, some took all the money and some were not even worth it.
• 10:42
Speaker 4: You know I ran the wagon through Mecham this year and it bid up to $62,000.
• 10:47
Speaker 4: And I probably should have took it.
• 10:49
Speaker 4: But you know they take a sizable cut themselves when you sell and that would have put me down in the 50s and I just wasn't willing to go.
• 10:59
Speaker 1: Let's talk about the show and let's talk about the $30 cash as you roll in to show it correct.
• 11:08
Speaker 4: Yes, unlike a lot of the stores you go in today, we do not take credit cards.
• 11:13
Speaker 4: We are a cash-only show and I'm sure that there is an ATM machine nearby.
• 11:22
Speaker 4: Ah, there's one in San Leon somewhere.
• 11:23
Speaker 2: I wouldn't call it nearby San Leon.
• 11:26
Speaker 1: Leon, leon, okay, not Leon.
• 11:28
Speaker 1: I've got a friend over here that for some reason has got in his mind oh, it's San Leon.
• 11:35
Speaker 1: No, it's not San Leon.
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: That's in france.
• 11:39
Speaker 4: This is not in france yeah, and you just roll them together, san leone well, you can see france from the.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: From there, you can see france all the way around the globe.
• 11:47
  Speaker 1: Yeah, do you?
• 11:48
Speaker 2: know what not from top water, because you're in the bay, yeah when you bring from folks, pay the 30 bucks and they they get in to show their car.
• 11:56
Speaker 2: Do you park them or do they just park anywhere?
• 11:58
Speaker 4: No, we usually direct the cars.
• 12:01
Speaker 4: The early cars get the prime spots on the peninsula, with the water as a backdrop.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: And they need to be down by us.
• 12:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, as long as they're down there by us so we can show pictures of cars that are parking.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: Well, hopefully, when we go on the air at 10 o'clock it'll be a full house.
• 12:23
Speaker 4: Well, I just did the Moody show down at Moody Gardens.
• 12:27
Speaker 4: Yep, it was an all-weekend show and a lot of the participants there said they would be at the show.
• 12:34
Speaker 4: Oh good, very good.
• 12:35
Speaker 4: There were some nice cars that I hadn't seen before at that show, so it'll be nice to get these guys out of the woodwork, and they were excited about the fact that there would be no newer cars there.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Well, you know if you want to go to a new car show.
• 12:52
Speaker 1: It's called the Houston Auto Show.
• 12:57
  Speaker 4: Cars and coffees.
• 12:58
Speaker 4: Yes, all that Every morning.
• 13:01
Speaker 1: Right, so we don't need to do more on the freeway Right.
• 13:04
  Speaker 4: There you go.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: So there's that, so $30 cash and show up what 8 o'clock.
• 13:11
Speaker 4: Gates open at 8, but people start showing up around 7 to get those prime spots.
• 13:17
Speaker 1: You mean the show field starts showing up at 7?
• 13:20
Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, okay, gotcha.
• 13:22
Speaker 2: So it means we have to get there early to set up Because we've got to drive through the peninsula to get to the building.
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: I don't think that that'll be a problem.
• 13:30
Speaker 2: We've never had that problem before.
• 13:33
Speaker 1: And not only that, we've got the chief of police right there in that red shirt.
• 13:38
Speaker 1: That would be Woody.
• 13:41
Speaker 2: I'm going to call Woody out, because I tried calling him a few weeks ago to help him out with some T-shirt sales and he never called me back.
• 13:47
  Speaker 2: So I'm done.
• 13:48
Speaker 2: You never got my call.
• 13:52
Speaker 4: I wasn't sure who it was I identify myself?
• 13:57
  Speaker 2: Don's son, don's son?
• 13:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, we'll talk at the event, yeah we'll talk.
• 14:07
Speaker 4: The first 50 cars At the show get a free t-shirt For the show, and then there will be t-shirts for sale as well.
• 14:14
Speaker 1: For 15 bucks a piece $15, very nice.
• 14:17
Speaker 1: Well, we're looking forward to it.
• 14:19
Speaker 1: That's in two weeks, it's going to be September 28th, and for the public that just want to come see, it's free, and it's 8 am to 4 pm out there at the Topwater Grill in San Leon, Texas.
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: There you go.
• 14:32
  Speaker 2: San Leon.
• 14:34
Speaker 4: Bring your wife, put a couple of drinks in her, and you never know what's going to happen.
• 14:39
Speaker 2: Might walk away with a hot rod purchase or something.
• 14:42
Speaker 1: Or there may be a plank to walk or something.
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 14:45
Speaker 2: So do you mind with people having cars that they bring in to show that have a for sale sign in them, or is that taboo?
• 14:50
  Speaker 2: No, absolutely not.
• 14:52
Speaker 4: You can sell it on site.
• 14:53
Speaker 4: If you can find a buyer, more power to you, brother.
• 14:56
Speaker 1: And if you need your car inspected and actually appraised, you can set up a date with Michael Wooding and he can do that it's the auto appraisal network that gives you an independent evaluation of the value of your car.
• 15:10
Speaker 4: So when you're marketing, you can use that as a tool to market.
• 15:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's always a good thing to have what?
• 15:17
Speaker 3: I'm thinking that you know you see one for sale, you like it.
• 15:20
Speaker 3: You talk to Michael.
• 15:21
Speaker 3: You know you go down.
• 15:22
Speaker 3: Hey, michael says your car's not worth that much.
• 15:24
Speaker 3: Let me give you this.
• 15:27
Speaker 2: And then they throw you in the bay with a brick around your ankle.
• 15:29
Speaker 2: That's pretty much it.
• 15:31
Speaker 1: Well, we're looking forward to spending another car show with you out there.
• 15:37
  Speaker 1: They're always fun.
• 15:39
Speaker 1: The Topwater Grill and it is Woody's Waterfront Hot Rod and Car Show.
• 15:48
Speaker 4: There you go, yeah you guys are like a bad disease.
• 15:51
Speaker 4: You've been there every year.
• 15:52
Speaker 1: We are like a bad disease that you can't get rid of Just put some ointment on us, we'll go away.
• 15:56
Speaker 1: Ointments and a couple of pills and we're good to go.
• 15:59
Speaker 1: Maybe some drinks, I think those are bloody murder.
• 16:02
Speaker 4: That's exactly right, Michael.
• 16:04
Speaker 1: it's great to talk to you, sir.
• 16:05
Speaker 1: We look forward to it guys.

• 22:25
Speaker 1: We're always in the dark.
• 22:26
Speaker 1: We are constantly so.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: With this story in mind, leaders of Stellantis, us Dealer Network, criticized Chief Executive Officer Carlos Taveras for the rapid degradation of the automaker's brands and urged him to spend more money to clear old inventory off their lots.
• 22:45
Speaker 1: Hello, retailers accused Taveras of short-term decision-making that boosted profits last year and padded the CEO's compensation.
• 22:56
Speaker 1: The moves ended up shrinking the company's market share and hurting the Jeep, ram, dodge and Chrysler brands.
• 23:02
Speaker 1: The National Dealer Council said in an open letter to Tavares dated September the 10th.
• 23:07
Speaker 1: Tavares has been cutting jobs and slashing capacity at American factories since a plunge in US sales Sliced half.
• 23:24
Speaker 1: Yeah it was me, it was him.
• 23:26
Speaker 1: He pressed the up button instead of the down button.
• 23:29
Speaker 1: No, it's just my Never mind.
• 23:31
Speaker 1: Never mind, let me just finish this story, and then you can come up with whatever excuse you want.
• 23:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, give me time to think.
• 23:36
Speaker 1: Slice the first half earnings nearly in half.
• 23:38
Speaker 1: Stellantis has taken steps this year to clear vehicle inventories, including cutting prices and bringing back incentives, but those steps have been insufficient as the company tries to protect its prized profit margins.
• 23:50
Speaker 1: According to dealers Quote, for over two years now the US Stellantis National Dealer Council has been sounding the alarm to your US executive team, warning them that the course you had set for Stellantis was going to be a disaster in the long run.
• 24:04
Speaker 1: The group said in a letter, a disaster not just for us but for everyone involved.
• 24:09
Speaker 1: And now that disaster has arrived, stellantis said it took exception to the letter and it doesn't believe public personal attacks are the most effective way to solve problems.
• 24:20
Speaker 1: Okay, there you go.
• 24:23
Speaker 1: I have said this and I've said it on many occasions.
• 24:27
Speaker 1: Why would you take your bread and butter vehicles and not make them anymore?
• 24:32
Speaker 1: Your number one Dodge Charger and your Dodge Challenger, the Hemis, the 1,000 horsepower jobs selling like hotcakes can't keep it on there.
• 24:45
Speaker 1: High profit margins, all of that stuff Ah, we're not going to do that anymore.
• 24:49
Speaker 3: Well, jeep's another one.
• 24:50
Speaker 3: They kind of slowed down a little bit, but they are still selling them, and so you take out the people that make it work, and I guess that's why you get paid $30 million a year.
• 25:04
Speaker 2: Well, and there's also pressure from other outside entities like your government.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: There's people that other influences the eco people.
• 25:13
Speaker 3: Give me $30 million a year.
• 25:15
Speaker 3: I bet I can talk to them.
• 25:16
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 25:16
  Speaker 3: I can't hear you.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: I know I don't know why I've got lots of problems going on.
• 25:20
Speaker 2: We know that you sure do.
• 25:22
Speaker 2: You brought them here with you.
• 25:23
Speaker 1: Now I know a good psychologist.
• 25:25
Speaker 2: That might help you out.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, a former salesman at a fluorescent Missouri Stellantis dealership was sentenced in August to a year and a day in prison after admitting to helping a fraudster buy and finance vehicles using another person's personal information.
• 25:43
Speaker 1: Us District Judge Sarah Pitlick of the Eastern District of Missouri also on August 8th ordered former Marty Cancilla Chrysler, dodge, jeep Ram employee Lavelle Carradine, 35, to pay $89,263 in restitution and spend a five-year period of supervised release.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: During the supervised release, he's required to get a probation officer's approval before engaging in any job or volunteerism that would allow access to other people's information.
• 26:17
Speaker 1: Can you imagine having that hanging over your head for the rest of your life?
• 26:21
Speaker 1: What did you do?
• 26:22
Speaker 1: Explain that to me again.
• 26:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, according to the plea agreement, carradine, from June 24th 2019 to August 23rd 2019, sold three vehicles to co-conspirator Naquan Powers, 28, at the Marty Cancela store.
• 26:40
Speaker 1: Powers used the personal information of two victims, with corresponding fraudulent social security cards and driver's licenses, to obtain auto loans according to the filing.
• 26:50
  Speaker 1: Wow, oh man.
• 26:52
Speaker 1: What did you do?
• 26:54
Speaker 1: Explain that to me again.
• 26:56
Speaker 1: Whew, that falls under the bad dealer category here in the file.
• 27:04
Speaker 3: I hear things like that.
• 27:05
Speaker 3: I hear things you know, you hear a lot of things.
• 27:07
Speaker 1: You wonder don't be that guy.
• 27:08
Speaker 3: How did somebody come up with that?
• 27:10
Speaker 3: How do you think?
• 27:10
  Speaker 1: about that.
• 27:11
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 27:11
Speaker 1: You got to be have a crook mind, I guess, and apparently he is now working for another dealership.
• 27:18
Speaker 3: Well, they couldn't think of how to be a crook, so they hired him.
• 27:21
  Speaker 3: He needed money.
• 27:25
Speaker 2: It's all boils down to.
• 27:28
Speaker 1: How do you think of stuff like that?
• 27:29
Speaker 1: Hey man, I've got a couple of cars.
• 27:32
Speaker 1: You want to go in on me with this?
• 27:35
Speaker 1: You and I can split $87,000.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: It's not a big deal, is it?
• 27:39
  Speaker 1: We'll just steal people's information.
• 27:42
  Speaker 1: I don't know you, ma'am.
• 27:44
Speaker 3: We won't get caught.
• 27:45
  Speaker 1: We won't.
• 27:46
  Speaker 1: No, we won't.
• 27:46
Speaker 1: It's kind of like me having it all figured out when I skipped school.
• 27:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, in junior high school.
• 27:53
Speaker 1: Oh me and Mike Hartman had it all figured out.
• 27:56
Speaker 1: We built a tree house next to the bayou.
• 28:00
Speaker 1: That day we had a great time until I got home.
• 28:04
Speaker 1: My dad came home early from work because my mother was frantic because the school called in the morning going where is Donnie Armstrong?
• 28:11
Speaker 1: Well, he's supposed to be there.
• 28:13
Speaker 1: Well, he's not here.
• 28:14
Speaker 1: So all day she had no clue where I was until I got home.
• 28:20
Speaker 1: Then she knew and there was Dad.
• 28:23
Speaker 1: It wasn't a good day at the Armstrong residence that day.
• 28:31
Speaker 3: I think my worst was when they sent a letter.
• 28:33
Speaker 3: I intercepted the phone calls but they sent a letter and said he's not going to graduate high school if he misses one more day of school.
• 28:40
Speaker 3: And they thought I had perfect attendance.
• 28:42
