- 0:00Uh.
- 0:03Jasmine, oolong, green
- 0:06and white. Long ago, these four
- 0:08teas were skilfully brewed at the Blissful Brew.
- 0:12Then everything changed when the shop's
- 0:14popularity threatened its existence.
- 0:17All Mr. Okuron, the shop's owner and tea
- 0:20master, could do was to recruit four teenage
- 0:23orphans to learn his trade and staff his
- 0:26shop. A year has passed since the orphans were
- 0:28hired, and although their skills have progressed, they
- 0:31still have a lot to learn before they can brew anything.
- 0:34But I believe that they have the potential to make the
- 0:37Blissful Brew the greatest tea shop in the world.
- 0:40Last time on Benders and Brews an
- 0:42Avatar legends podcast.
- 0:44So after waking up the next morning.
- 0:46The ship approaches the city of Yudao and begins
- 0:49pulling into the docks where they plan to leave the ship and
- 0:52our gang, along with a group of pirates led by the captain,
- 0:55who will follow them ashore and continue to seek out the
- 0:57alleged treasure. Of course, our heroes don't want
- 1:00these tag alongs, and so they decide to leap off the rear of
- 1:03the ship into the waters below and swim themselves the
- 1:06short distance to the wooden ship docks awaiting for him.
- 1:09Um, and now that you've disappeared into the city, you find yourselves in the
- 1:12squares, bustling people going to and from
- 1:14work. One thing that you start to notice is
- 1:17that, uh, there's definitely become a very
- 1:20heavy Fire Nation population in the area.
- 1:23Bill, go insert yourself into their
- 1:26pie show conversation. You do this all the time with old
- 1:28timers.
- 1:29We're here looking for someone.
- 1:31Who are you looking for? Mayu
- 1:34Yinyu.
- 1:34And as you say that name, the pieces just kind of
- 1:37slide out of their hands, and they both have kind of these
- 1:40gaping, open mouths. But it is not
- 1:43wise to shout the name Mayu
- 1:46Yinyu when the Fire Nation is around.
- 1:49M. He is an entertainer,
- 1:51but he's also a leading member
- 1:54of the local Rescue Team
- 1:57squadron.
- 1:58If you are searching for my
- 2:00union will
- 2:03find you. Try
- 2:06the performance hall, the local theater.
- 2:08Yes.
- 2:09Oh, wait, guys. I also got to know
- 2:12this weird, like, outcast thing just came swooping in
- 2:14and dropped something, and I
- 2:17picked it up.
- 2:18So you want to speak to Mayu?
- 2:21Unfortunately, we, the u dao faction of the
- 2:24Rescue Team Squadron, will need to see proof that you're
- 2:27not a Fire Nation spy by hitting them where it
- 2:30hurts in a way that no Fire Nation
- 2:32sympathizer would dare to do. Luckily for
- 2:35you, I'll give you a choice between the three.
- 2:38Pick one and attach it to the owl, and we'll send
- 2:41the details for the task. Do the task,
- 2:44and we'll tell you where you can talk to Mayu.
- 2:46One, sabotage. Two,
- 2:49steal. Three, break free
- 2:52sabotage. You already want to burn down Half
- 2:55City?
- 3:02All right.
- 3:02Welcome back to another episode of Vendors and Brews. We're
- 3:05on episode ten. Two more episodes after
- 3:08this and it'll be the end of season two and
- 3:11we'll have all kinds of cool, fun announcements. I'm,
- 3:14uh, going to keep this fast and quick so we can jump
- 3:16back into the episode here. Let's, um, kick
- 3:19things off with, uh, Connor, aka Brock
- 3:22Lee. You got a fun fact over there for me? For
- 3:25Brock Lee?
- 3:26I do. I got a fun fact for you.
- 3:29While working at the Blissful Brew, uh,
- 3:32Brock is known to leave
- 3:35early just about every day that he
- 3:37can. It's just his
- 3:40routine. He's supposed to work until 04:00.
- 3:43330 rolls around and he is just
- 3:46up chilling in his rock bed.
- 3:49Chilling, doing his thing. Mr. O'quen knew
- 3:52about know, it just became
- 3:55sort of his thing.
- 3:55He's got flex scheduling. Flex scheduling?
- 3:58Yeah.
- 3:58Right on. Awesome. Uh, Dave
- 4:01Akao, guo
- 4:03Boguao.
- 4:04Brock never wondered why he had to start a half hour
- 4:07earlier than everyone.
- 4:10That is how flex scheduling works.
- 4:14Uh, what's, uh, what was interesting fact for this
- 4:17week?
- 4:19Uh, so he writes haikus
- 4:22in his journal.
- 4:24Yes, here is a haiku
- 4:26from his journal.
- 4:29Enter an alley,
- 4:32behold a hole in the wall
- 4:36surprise. Noodle shop.
- 4:42That's beautiful.
- 4:44That's ah, amazing. Fantastic. Ten out of ten.
- 4:47I do have to ask yes. How many
- 4:50rocks you know on the rating skit the rating scale did
- 4:53he rate that noodle shop?
- 4:56Oh, it's probably a solid boulder.
- 4:58Solid boulder. All right,
- 5:01high praise. This is a great noodle shop. All,
- 5:04uh, right, moving on. Cameron, aka
- 5:07Bill Dore. What is your interesting
- 5:10fact, Bill? Uh,
- 5:12door's favorite number is 35.
- 5:15All right, next.
- 5:18Okay, interesting were, uh, you good your favorite
- 5:21number too?
- 5:22I was thinking about.
- 5:33Everyone needs a.
- 5:34Fair number sometimes we
- 5:37don't really understand why rock's got a secret lover. That's
- 5:40true. Never tell us her name or
- 5:43the rock's name. Yes. Uh,
- 5:45Michaela, aka Mika. What interesting
- 5:48fact do you have for Mika?
- 5:50Um, Mika's fun fact
- 5:53is that she's also
- 5:56a mime.
- 5:59Oh, that'd be bad.
- 6:01We m did just learn that she's really good at interpretive
- 6:03dance.
- 6:04That or she's very lucky.
- 6:06Or very lucky. Has Mika ever
- 6:08interpretive dance before?
- 6:11She's watched it.
- 6:13She's never done it before. So that last episode was
- 6:16the first time she ever interpreted danced?
- 6:18Probably.
- 6:18I mean, she was your fun she.
- 6:19Lived in the woods for a long time.
- 6:21That she did. You
- 6:24were interpretive dancing in the oral?
- 6:26The only shake were
- 6:29the trees.
- 6:30I have music to interpretive dance, you know what I
- 6:33mean? Usually, uh, interpretive dance to the
- 6:36music that is being played.
- 6:38But she didn't really have music.
- 6:40She didn't really have music.
- 6:41Sounds of nature. And so then that's how she
- 6:44got the natural movements of water
- 6:47down because that's what she used as the rhythm.
- 6:49I mean her other fun fact know that she
- 6:52watched fish and made up stories for them.
- 6:55Oh yeah, that's true. Hey, that's it.
- 6:57Uh, she's kind of a weird kid. Fair enough.
- 6:59Uh, all right, we'll take it all right, sounds good. My
- 7:02name is Skylar. I'm the game master.
- 7:05Uh, my interesting fact is that I
- 7:08am currently working on a real
- 7:10life Clue game for my workplace,
- 7:13and I'm very excited to see how that turns out. I am involved
- 7:16in a lot more games other than Avatar Legends.
- 7:19Um, what is it called?
- 7:21Murder Someone?
- 7:22No, that's not what it we're actually.
- 7:25Doing an office job shadow.
- 7:28Job shadow?
- 7:30Where you crash the party or whatever.
- 7:32Uh, you crash the party?
- 7:34Yeah. I want to real life Clue game.
- 7:37If it works out if it works out really well, maybe we can get, like,
- 7:40a big group of us together.
- 7:43That would fit actually really well.
- 7:45Okay, fair point. Yes.
- 7:46All right, cool. We just made plans. Sorry,
- 7:49you can't join us for audience unless you happen
- 7:52to be in our area.
- 7:53Whatever. Uh,
- 7:56Halloween party.
- 7:57That's true. That's how you get
- 7:59exclusive club.
- 8:04Uh.
- 8:04Whatever the case, thanks for listening. Let's
- 8:07jump into the episode.
- 8:11The last time that you guys uh, or
- 8:14last time in the last episode, you guys had infiltrated
- 8:17you got to Udao, you escaped the pirates, at least for
- 8:20now, um, and you sort of infiltrated
- 8:23the theater, uh, the local theater,
- 8:26in search of Yudao, who had allegedly had some connections
- 8:29with the theater. Brock, um,
- 8:31had inspired a potential romantic
- 8:34path that he could go down. Uh,
- 8:37Guo might have a job soon.
- 8:41Brock, uh, or sorry, bill definitely doesn't have a
- 8:44job coming soon. Not yet. And Mika most
- 8:46definitely does have a job coming soon. In fact, she was invited to
- 8:49a gala because of her exceptional performance
- 8:52skills.
- 8:53Bill, get it together, man.
- 8:55Seems like Bill really bill really got the short
- 8:58stick in that episode.
- 8:59You kind of brought it upon yourself.
- 9:01Bill sticks the longest stick you
- 9:04overcome. This is like talking about the captain sack
- 9:07all over again. Um, whatever
- 9:10the case, you guys are outside the theater. Uh, as the
- 9:13hour of noon kind of starts to draw
- 9:15near, your, um,
- 9:18owlcat returns with a new
- 9:21note. It simply
- 9:24says, there is a factory in
- 9:26Udao that has been repurposed to make
- 9:29large scale weapons. We need you
- 9:32to break into the facility and
- 9:35hit them in several key points in order
- 9:38to severely disable it. And it has, like,
- 9:40a small sort of drawing of, like, the city of
- 9:43Udao. This one's a slightly larger note, by the
- 9:46way. Um, and it kind of has, like, an X on where
- 9:49this factory is located. And sure enough, as you kind of turn your
- 9:52heads, it's not hard to find the large Billowing
- 9:55smokestack shooting, uh,
- 9:58dark clouds into this sky,
- 10:01uh, as you can smell, like sulfur
- 10:04and other factory materials,
- 10:07um, coming off of it.
- 10:09Nothing a trusty Clipboard can't get us
- 10:12into.
- 10:14You do still have your clipboard,
- 10:17clipboard. Hopefully we'll be dry by the
- 10:20time we get there.
- 10:21Hey, Mika, want to help us out? Well, I'm dry
- 10:24more talking to Glow.
- 10:25On.
- 10:29The backside of the note, it lists the three
- 10:31areas of this factory they need you to
- 10:34disable, right? The furnace, the assembly
- 10:37line and the casters.
- 10:39So we could probably split up and take all of,
- 10:42just take down one of them and
- 10:45call it a day.
- 10:46But we get there first.
- 10:53It's a short, like maybe ten minute jaunt over
- 10:56to this factory. And as I said before, it's not hard
- 10:59to find. As you see the smokes billowing out of the
- 11:02smokestacks above it. Uh, the facility
- 11:04itself has, uh, it's large,
- 11:07it's massive. It does not have a huge amount of side
- 11:10doors or windows. Instead, it has
- 11:13two men guarding the large iron front gates,
- 11:17uh, both dressed in Fire Nation
- 11:20garb.
- 11:21Any ideas?
- 11:21Or we can what's around
- 11:24on this street? Is this like?
- 11:27I'm guessing it's not a residential area.
- 11:30Um, no, but it's not far from the residential area,
- 11:33which might spark some sort of depressing thoughts
- 11:36of what this might be doing to the community.
- 11:38Um, but I digress. Um, it's
- 11:42sort of a cleared out area. Everything in this
- 11:45area is dirt. Even the grass itself just kind of doesn't really
- 11:48grow around this factory. Um, you do
- 11:50see a small group of construction workers that seem
- 11:53to be adding on or maybe they're retiling the roof or something.
- 11:56They have a large ladder that kind of leads up to the rooftop of
- 11:59this factory over on one corner, uh,
- 12:02to the sort of east rear corner. Um,
- 12:06otherwise, like I said, there's the main doors that
- 12:09lead inside their large double doors. Currently
- 12:12they're open, but, uh, there are two guards, fire Nation
- 12:14guards that stand in front of them at attention.
- 12:17I think it's time we go to.
- 12:19The construction workers with the clipboard.
- 12:23I go up and say, I'm with
- 12:26OSHA, sir. I'm here to, uh,
- 12:29do a little check of, uh, your construction site.
- 12:32Make sure everything's up to code.
- 12:33You see it from OSHA. What exactly
- 12:36is OSHA?
- 12:39Office Safety and Health
- 12:42Administration.
- 12:43Um, uh, okay, what
- 12:46is that?
- 12:47I go onto these sites and I make sure that
- 12:50your workers are safe, not in
- 12:53a dangerous situation
- 12:56while, uh, they're making
- 12:59what appears to be a roof here for, uh, this
- 13:02building.
- 13:04Tell them to bring out the whole OSHA.
- 13:12Yeah, I'm going to have to bring out my whole OSHA here.
- 13:15Hold on now. There's no need to bring out
- 13:18the whole OSHA. You
- 13:21see a pretty exclusive
- 13:23construction group. M. Okay, uh, what
- 13:26do you need from me? You look
- 13:29around, we're all doing okay.
- 13:32What do you need from me?
- 13:34I don't need nothing from you. Uh, I just need,
- 13:37uh, probably about ten minutes. I'll be
- 13:39walking around the site, just making sure, uh, there's no big
- 13:42dangers to yourself or your employees. I
- 13:45do have my constituents here with me. Uh,
- 13:48that's, ah, the rest of the ocean.
- 13:49I didn't think you bring out the
- 13:52whole OSHA?
- 13:53Yeah, unfortunately, we already brought out the whole
- 13:55OSHA.
- 13:57Bad that we get some kind of reports or something.
- 14:01I'd heard some rumblings from around this
- 14:04residential area around here, but, uh, they're.
- 14:06Just always complaining they don't like the factory. It's not
- 14:09our fault.
- 14:10I know, sir. I'm just trying to do my job. So if you give me ten
- 14:13minutes, I'll be out of your hair. We'll all be out of your hair in about ten minutes
- 14:16here. All right, so
- 14:19we'll go up to the roof.
- 14:22You go up the ladder.
- 14:23Yeah, I got to go up to the ladder.
- 14:25He holds it for you because he's kind of worried because
- 14:28the second you step on it, it felt a little rickety.
- 14:32That's not the and, uh,
- 14:35yeah, you guys make it. All four of you just climb up
- 14:38there to the roof.
- 14:39The whole OSHA.
- 14:40The whole OSHA.
- 14:41OSHA is now on the roof. I think the sad part is the.
- 14:44Amount of times we said it in.
- 14:45That little bit right there, I still think was less than the amount of.
- 14:48Times we said it.
- 14:48I think you're right.
- 14:50Is that actually what OSHA stands for? I don't know.
- 14:53I think you're pretty darn close.
- 14:55Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
- 14:57Well, office works too well. Not really
- 15:02like a department, but I digress anyway.
- 15:03All right.
- 15:04But yeah, so he believed it.
- 15:05Yeah. All right.
- 15:06So, uh, what's the deal going on on the roof?
- 15:08Okay, so, yes, they are definitely patching up
- 15:11a they've removed a whole
- 15:13section a hole, like
- 15:16H-O-L-E section in the roof.
- 15:19Um, it doesn't look unclean, like something smashed
- 15:22through or something. It's a hole that they personally put in
- 15:25there so they could patch up this roof. Just to clarify,
- 15:28they've, um, got that hole. You look inside, you can see all the way down
- 15:31to the production floor. There's people in there working. Um,
- 15:34there's a large furnace. You, um, see
- 15:37metal going into this furnace, and then you see,
- 15:39uh, sort of shovels that are
- 15:42pulling it out. There's some special
- 15:44metal, whatever you'd call them, like
- 15:47receptacles that pull out the molten metal,
- 15:50which gets moved over to one of the assembly lines.
- 15:53It gets dumped into the various
- 15:55casters. The casters are what form
- 15:58the metal into the pieces that are then transported
- 16:01over to the production crew, who put the pieces
- 16:04together into these large scale sort of
- 16:06machines. They seem to be, um,
- 16:09bibble. Actually, they would look fairly
- 16:11familiar to you.
- 16:14Mhm. Got it.
- 16:15So, uh, I walk up to the, uh,
- 16:18workers who are other workers over.
- 16:19There on the roof?
- 16:20On the roof, yeah. The construction workers? Yeah, there's a couple of
- 16:23guys over there.
- 16:24Okay.
- 16:24So I'm going to walk up to them, and I'm just going to be
- 16:27like, hey, guys, I'm with OSHA here. Uh,
- 16:31what's OSHA? Uh, the Occupational Safety Health
- 16:33Administration. Don't worry about it. Uh, we are here just to
- 16:36make sure that you guys are up to code, making sure
- 16:39that there's a lot of all the safety regulations are being met.
- 16:42I got to come here and check, uh, out the hole that you
- 16:45guys are working on. Just make sure everything's all right. And I just climb down
- 16:48the hole like, oh, yeah,
- 16:51there's tons of violations,
- 16:54potential violations in here. I'm going to have to go
- 16:57deeper in. And I just climb down.
- 16:59This is just like an open hole to the
- 17:01Looney Tunes floating in midair.
- 17:05There is a rope hanging there, and it's, like, attached to
- 17:08a nearby chimney or something.
- 17:09Yeah, I just get down the hole as
- 17:12I just start spouting random, like, OSHA type
- 17:15jargon. Oh, yeah, that's a violation.
- 17:18Oh, uh, man, uh, when was the last time you guys took a
- 17:21break? You guys even have dental?
- 17:23Oh, dang it.
- 17:24I was going to make that joke. I was going to have him be like, look,
- 17:26man, between you and me, we don't even have
- 17:29dental.
- 17:29They don't even have dental. They don't even have dental.
- 17:32Tell them about the whole OSHA.
- 17:36These guys.
- 17:37Oh, uh, yeah. Unfortunately, this is such a large site, we had to bring out
- 17:40the whole OSHA. So they're going to be following
- 17:43me around on this, uh, site here. And we're just going to
- 17:46this is.
- 17:47The easiest, uh, episode title that we've.
- 17:49Had to deal with so far.
- 17:55This is almost as bad as the Gua Ling
- 17:58factory a couple weeks back.
- 18:01Yeah, my lungs haven't recovered
- 18:03still.
- 18:06Mind you, he's a 14 year old.
- 18:14Am I the only one who's passable for you're?
- 18:17The only one with the normal.
- 18:20That'S true.
- 18:21Okay. We just have glow, like
- 18:24twelve.
- 18:26I put Dilbert on a sort of
- 18:29hard hat. His tentacles are hanging
- 18:32down like a.
- 18:32Beard.
- 18:35Covered in ink so it looks like a beard.
- 18:40Okay.
- 18:41I'm m climbing down in the ocean, in through the
- 18:44roof, and I guess they're following behind me, and
- 18:47I'm just spouting the most random I mean, if you
- 18:50want to be in the factory, sure, you're already on the roof.
- 18:53We could have walked to the front door, but I guess you took the
- 18:56most bro.
- 18:59I flaunt the power of the clipboard wherever I
- 19:01go.
- 19:02How, uh, are you holding this clipboard.
- 19:03As you, uh, between his
- 19:06thigh? Because I have to
- 19:09still be talking.
- 19:10He's an arm as well. It's true.
- 19:13I'm either just holding it with my feet and I'm just slowly
- 19:16lowering myself down with my hands with my
- 19:19rippling musculatures.
- 19:20I'm realizing that all this time I haven't made you guys
- 19:23do any kind of a trick
- 19:26roll or anything.
- 19:27I was, uh, just so convincing convinced.
- 19:30You.
- 19:32I can't argue with it.
- 19:34It would have been a ten. It would have been an eleven. Sorry.
- 19:37Oh, okay.
- 19:37Well, yeah, we'll take that. Even though it's late, we'll take it. All
- 19:40right. Because at this point, it'd be weird to
- 19:42retcon.
- 19:44Uh, awesome.
- 19:44Okay, so explain to me, so you're just, like, hanging
- 19:47there, like, Mission Impossible style from
- 19:50this rope?
- 19:52I'm not even acknowledging
- 19:54what the workers are saying. I'm just
- 19:57going down. Shimmying down, like, oh, yeah, this
- 20:00looks like a potential violation. Shimmying down a little more.
- 20:03Oh, yeah, you got to check out the there's
- 20:06no support beams on this part of the roof.
- 20:09Don't tell me about it.
- 20:11And then I get to the floor, and then I'm like, I got to take a
- 20:14look around, make sure there's no structural damage to the rest of
- 20:17the roof. And I just start walking into the
- 20:20factory.
- 20:21Is that a missing rivet I see?
- 20:23Let me take a closer look.
- 20:24And I start climbing.
- 20:28Oh, don't worry. I'll hold the rope.
- 20:30Charles, you hold the rope? Yep.
- 20:33Mika, what are you doing? These guys are all
- 20:36climbing their way down.
- 20:38I'm m supervising.
- 20:39Oh, yeah? Okay, good. You're making sure that
- 20:42they're following. Group needs a
- 20:45supervisor. You're the OSHA for the OSHA.
- 20:48She's super OSHA.
- 20:51The power of the OSHA.
- 20:54OSHA.
- 20:55Okay, so, Brock, you're already making your
- 20:58way through Guo. Um, you finally get down to the ground,
- 21:01so you kind of join with Brock. Is there anything particular
- 21:04you guys are moving towards or looking for?
- 21:07Who's, uh, got the map?
- 21:09What's that? A burst
- 21:12gasket?
- 21:12I start climbing down the road myself.
- 21:16Does Mika have the map?
- 21:18Do we have a map?
- 21:19She's got a map.
- 21:20There, uh, wasn't a map factory. It was just a map to
- 21:23get to stop
- 21:26yes.
- 21:27The assembly line, the conveyor belt, and the
- 21:29caster.
- 21:30Well, the assembly line is the furnace.
- 21:34The furnace and the caster. Okay.
- 21:36All right, guys, maybe we can
- 21:38find, uh, some
- 21:41uniforms. Maybe they got
- 21:44a spot. They put the dirty ones or something.
- 21:47Uh, you notice sort of like a doorway. Uh,
- 21:50it's just one of those swinging doors, kind of like what you'd see at
- 21:52restaurants that lead into the kitchen, kind of that sort of set
- 21:55up. Um, and you see a
- 21:58couple of people walk out of them, and they are actively
- 22:01retying their aprons on.
- 22:04And so that might suggest to you that maybe there's some sort of a
- 22:07back room back there or subcord some type.
- 22:11That way. Looks promising.
- 22:13All right, so you guys head back there. As you open the
- 22:16door. There's a room with a
- 22:19long table inside of there. Uh, there's a small
- 22:22water, uh, like a fountain of some kind
- 22:25to use for cleaning your hands.
- 22:27Or, uh, there's a little spigot that kind
- 22:30of comes out of it that shoots water through it, um, in case
- 22:33you get something in your eyes. It's like an eyewashing station.
- 22:37Um, but you definitely see some people sitting around
- 22:39the table. They look like they have their little packaged lunch
- 22:42boxes or whatever the case. Um, and
- 22:45they're eating away at some various
- 22:47foods. What are you doing? Are you still
- 22:50on the roof or did you climb down as well?
- 22:52Uh, obviously I had to climb down.
- 22:54Okay.
- 22:56Yeah.
- 22:56Right.
- 22:56You're supervising your crew. So did you fall to the background?
- 22:59Yes. Sorry.
- 23:02Awesome.
- 23:03All right. So yeah, uh, the four of you are in this background.
- 23:06There's a couple of people eating. They kind of see you come in and they kind
- 23:09of look at you a little bit. Like, funny. Like, who are these people?
- 23:12They're not wearing the aprons and stuff, but they don't really
- 23:15question you. They just continue eating.
- 23:18Um, you assume that they're probably like some pretty
- 23:21not to say low level workers. But they're employees
- 23:24here. They don't ask questions.
- 23:27Is there any spot where there could
- 23:30be fresh uniforms?
- 23:32Um, you see another door. Just ah, another swinging
- 23:35door. You see two sets of them. Um, one of them has a little
- 23:38like, plaque or each one has a plaque above the wall. One of them
- 23:41kind of shows the depiction of a man and one shows the depiction of a
- 23:43woman.
- 23:44M. Obviously. I go into the woman's
- 23:47side.
- 23:48All right.
- 23:49Um, I'll go into the men's side and just
- 23:52grab a uniform.
- 23:53Sure. Same. Okay.
- 23:54All right. So the three of
- 23:57you guys, is Mika going into the
- 24:00men's or the women?
- 24:02You got to supervise.
- 24:05I have to supervise.
- 24:06Supervise. Yeah. You go into this
- 24:09steamy what? Shower, um, room.
- 24:12No, I'm just kidding. It's a
- 24:15pretty standard locker room. There's two benches on the
- 24:18ground. Uh, two, uh,
- 24:22lines to each other are
- 24:24parallel. Right?
- 24:25Parallel, yeah.
- 24:26Okay.
- 24:27Two parallel, uh, benches sitting there next to each
- 24:30other. Uh, otherwise the walls are all covered in these sort
- 24:33of, um, drawers. Wooden
- 24:35drawers. They wouldn't have metal lockers
- 24:38at this day and age, I don't think.
- 24:41No.
- 24:41They might. No. Michaela
- 24:44confirms they would not.
- 24:46They might.
- 24:47No.
- 24:47Sorry. Nation's ahead of his time. Whatever.
- 24:50Um, the case. You, uh, open up tanks.
- 24:53You open up one of these drawers and you
- 24:56find some common person's
- 24:59clothes
- 25:02that's, uh, not what you're looking for. So you continue opening more some
- 25:05of the other drawers and sure enough, eventually you find some
- 25:08aprons that match the ones that everybody else out there
- 25:11are wearing. Additionally, um, you find some
- 25:13very heavy gloves
- 25:16able um, to sort of resist heat to some extent just because
- 25:19they're such a heavy material. And you also
- 25:22find some um, uh, hats
- 25:25uh, to protect your hair. You find some
- 25:28boots. It, uh, takes a little while to find boots
- 25:31in your size though. That's kind of the main tricky
- 25:34aspect. But sure enough, you're able to eventually find boots that
- 25:37are in your size. Uh, every once in a while somebody
- 25:40walks in. Uh, they see you guys looking
- 25:42around. Uh, Brock, I assume, probably turns to
- 25:45them holding his clipboard and he's like, Can I help you?
- 25:49And immediately they say, oh no. Sorry.
- 25:51And then they leave. Um, that happens maybe, like,
- 25:53twice. Uh, but like I said, they don't seem like
- 25:56people that would really ask questions. But whatever the case, you guys have
- 25:59a full factory worker costume that
- 26:02you've put together at this point, each one.
- 26:04Of you onto the assembly floor.
- 26:06We go, yes.
- 26:07Hi ho.
- 26:09Do you still have your clipboard with you or are you going
- 26:12to oh, you're keeping that? Okay, as
- 26:15you guys step out from what was basically the break
- 26:18room, uh, you see another individual not
- 26:21wearing an apron, but rather wearing some finer
- 26:24clothes with, uh, the same
- 26:26hat, but not the same rest of the clothing.
- 26:29And he is also wearing a clipboard.
- 26:32And he says, you four.
- 26:35And then he sees Brock's clipboard.
- 26:36He goes, oh, sorry, you three, get
- 26:39back to work. What are you doing? Your break's been over for
- 26:42a good five minutes now.
- 26:44Sorry, I was holding him up. He just
- 26:47needed some help with some, uh,
- 26:49extra logistical stuff. Don't be too hard on him.
- 26:53What do you want these people for? Logistical
- 26:56stuff.
- 26:57They, uh, don't know anything.
- 26:58They're grease monkeys.
- 27:00Yeah, but some of them are pretty smart.
- 27:02Monkey hogs.
- 27:03Some of them are pretty smart, and, uh, sometimes with
- 27:06all the heat, you can't remember how to multiply
- 27:09and divide. And these guys are pretty sharp. So, uh,
- 27:12they were helping me out with some quick maths.
- 27:14He comes walking over and he says.
- 27:16Let me see that.
- 27:17I trust their math.
- 27:19This is not for your eyes, sir. This is above
- 27:22you.
- 27:22Excuse me?
- 27:23My clipboard is heavier than yours.
- 27:26It is above you. Uh.
- 27:32My clipboard is larger than yours.
- 27:35There we go.
- 27:36I am more important, sir.
- 27:38All right.
- 27:38Roland intimidate is
- 27:40that's with passion?
- 27:441313.
- 27:46Okay, um, so on a hit, they
- 27:49choose one on a ten plus, you pick one
- 27:52they cannot choose.
- 27:54Okay?
- 27:54So here's the options that they have to choose from, because
- 27:57you're intimidating him by telling him that you are
- 28:00more important than he is.
- 28:01Okay?
- 28:01Um, first one is they run to escape to get back
- 28:04up. The second one is they back down but keep watch. The
- 28:07third one, they give in with a few stipulations. Or
- 28:10the lastly, they attack you.
- 28:12But off balance, I wouldn't expect
- 28:15him to attack me.
- 28:17Uh, that's the thing. I mean, at the end of the day, if
- 28:20you think that they wouldn't choose one of these options
- 28:23anyways, I'm not going to sit here and
- 28:26be like, oh, man, he didn't pick that one.
- 28:27Perfect.
- 28:27I'm going to screw him. I'm still going to play
- 28:30the logic.
- 28:31Game here so he will not leave and get
- 28:34backup.
- 28:35Okay, all right, sounds good. Um, instead,
- 28:38he's going to back down, but he's going to keep watch.
- 28:42He, uh, now dislikes you. You are
- 28:45that coworker that he couldn't
- 28:47necessarily deny that you might have more
- 28:50power than he does, but, man, he's going to find
- 28:53a way to shut you down because he's
- 28:56that kind of a guy.
- 28:57I love it. I love sewing. Office discourse.
- 29:00Yes, fantastic. That'll be the true, uh,
- 29:03fall of this factory, for sure.
- 29:07So, yes, the man with the sabotaged them, but
- 29:10in a way that's not obvious at first,
- 29:13and six months later.
- 29:15Toppled the social hierarchy.
- 29:18Let's go back into the break room.
- 29:19And eat some people's lunches.
- 29:22That would really spark things, man.
- 29:26Next thing you know, you start walking around.
- 29:28Yeah, cool. Great idea. That way we cause discourse.
- 29:30He's like, oh, yeah,
- 29:33you start walking around to the employees and you're like, you guys ever heard
- 29:36of a thing called unionize
- 29:39managers?
- 29:40Like,
- 29:44awesome.
- 29:44All right. You've gotten this guy off your back. At
- 29:47least for the time being.
- 29:49Sweet.
- 29:50The power of a clipboard, man.
- 29:52I am thoroughly impressed, honestly. I'm going to go
- 29:55buy myself one at my earliest convenience.
- 29:58Clipboard or a ladder?
- 29:59Nobody questions a guy just got his ladder. He's got work to
- 30:02do. You'll carry a ladder around for fun.
- 30:05Yeah, you can get into you probably get anywhere you
- 30:07want. You can get into an airport with that thing.
- 30:11And this has been another episode of how to Con
- 30:14People with Connor.
- 30:15With Connor. Connor the
- 30:18coach.
- 30:22Are you, like me, a fan of
- 30:25piracy or privateering,
- 30:28um, out in your d d campaign? Well,
- 30:31check this out. We have been working on a brand
- 30:34new airship combat system. That
- 30:36means you and your privateer crew can now
- 30:39take to the skies and pillage at new
- 30:42heights. Within this system, you will
- 30:45get three dimensional dynamic movement and
- 30:48combat rules. You'll get, uh, a brand new
- 30:50updated air crew system, as well as
- 30:53brand new spells, items, creatures,
- 30:56and example airships for you to use in your
- 30:59campaign, as well as crews to put on
- 31:02them. But I think the coolest part about all of this
- 31:05is we have a custom ship builder
- 31:07application that will allow you to customize and
- 31:10build your very own airship.
- 31:13It means you and your team can have exactly
- 31:16what you want as you take on the skies.
- 31:19If you're interested in any of that, check out our Sky's efforts
- 31:22kickstarter here at Hermione and the Dude.

- 33:08it. Thanks for listening.
- 33:09Let's get back to the show.
- 33:15All right, so, uh, back to this show. Uh,
- 33:18like I said, you've got this guy off your back for the time being.
- 33:21You've got these three underling
- 33:24employees standing in front of you, waiting to be
- 33:26assigned some work.
- 33:28Yeah.
- 33:28So I'll tell GuoHan,
- 33:32you, uh, go over to the assembly line, and, uh,
- 33:35for Bill, you head over to the
- 33:38other thing, to the furnace. What's a
- 33:41caster?
- 33:42Casters are sort of like the molds that they
- 33:45put the melted metal into, and then that way it solidifies
- 33:48into the shape of the pieces, um, that then
- 33:51get built into the machine. No.
- 33:57That was me answering.
- 33:58I like this.
- 34:00Uh, no, I'm not going to the furnace.
- 34:02Mika, you go over to the captor. Mika, you go over to the
- 34:05furnace. Fine.
- 34:07That, uh, doesn't work well with water.
- 34:09What are you talking
- 34:15uh ah.
- 34:16All right, so we'll start with the furnace, just because that's kind of
- 34:19the first place that most of this process starts
- 34:22at.
- 34:22Brock.
- 34:23Um, doing I'm just going to
- 34:26supervise with my
- 34:28clipboard.
- 34:32I'm doing my job.
- 34:34Um, Mika. Yeah, I want the notebook. I took the
- 34:36supervising job from Mika. Um, Mika, you make
- 34:39your way over to the furnace, and immediately, the closer
- 34:42you get to it, the more you're hit with the just emanating heat
- 34:45that comes off of it. It is a
- 34:48massively hot fire. Um, there is a
- 34:51few people that are manning this furnace
- 34:53area. You see people that are kind of overseeing
- 34:56the metal that goes into it. Uh, they'll kind of make sure
- 34:59that it's in the bins. It's not sticking out in any way that would make
- 35:02it bump up against the furnaces. Like the edges of
- 35:05the opening that it just gets dumped into.
- 35:07Um, and making sure all of it ends up inside. If any of
- 35:10it falls out of the little bins that dump it in, then they
- 35:13throw it into the furnace themselves, although it's really
- 35:16hot to get that close. So most of them, they'll just put it into the next little
- 35:19bin that comes by. These are like stone
- 35:22bins to make sure that they don't melt in the fire.
- 35:25Um, of course, there's somebody keeping an eye on the other side
- 35:28of the furnace where, uh, they have stone
- 35:31bins that are pulling the
- 35:33molten metal out of,
- 35:36um, and then there are people behind the furnace that are
- 35:39operating sort of a giant, uh what are those things
- 35:42called? It's like a bellow.
- 35:45Got you. Okay.
- 35:46Sorry. No, you're good. I don't know, it just came
- 35:49up with some dude, but I think I've heard that term.
- 35:52Okay, so it's bellows.
- 35:53Sorry.
- 35:53They're operating this massive bellows, um,
- 35:56that's pushing, uh, air into the heat. And of course, every time that
- 35:59they press down on these bellows and the air goes shooting into
- 36:02this furnace, you can feel that heat emanate
- 36:05even more as kind of the air pushes the heat
- 36:07outwards and, um, helps to keep this fire
- 36:10going. Of course, there's a couple of people that are just
- 36:13shoveling this huge mound of what looks to
- 36:16be coal, uh, shoveling that into the furnace
- 36:19to also help fuel it. Uh, do you have
- 36:22a particular spot that you go to, or
- 36:24where are you off to now that you're in this
- 36:27furnace area?
- 36:29The bellows.
- 36:30Okay, so you kind of come around to the back and you see these
- 36:33people on the bellows. They're sweating. Obviously, most people
- 36:36around the furnace area are very much sweating.
- 36:39Um, these people definitely have the
- 36:42nice airy side of things. They're on the backside of
- 36:45the furnace, so it's not quite as hot as when you're kind of closer
- 36:48to the front. Um, but they're sweating more
- 36:51from the activity of it because it's a big bellows. You
- 36:53got, um, two people on let's say
- 36:56there's two of them. You've got two people on each one. Both
- 36:59of them have to raise and lift this thing
- 37:02up and down and up and down constantly. Uh,
- 37:05obviously, you know that your goal is
- 37:07to sabotage this furnace.
- 37:12So plug the air hole.
- 37:15Plug the air holes, sure.
- 37:17How do you want to do that with their sweat?
- 37:21Do tell.
- 37:22Don't be misty. Air.
- 37:25Okay.
- 37:25Put out the fire.
- 37:27Okay.
- 37:28So you're bending this sweat
- 37:31off of these people, and then you toss
- 37:34it into the, um it
- 37:36evaporates very quickly wow.
- 37:39In the little hole. Who to thunk it where the
- 37:42air comes out?
- 37:43Sure.
- 37:45I mean, it's hot. So hot.
- 37:48Yeah, but it's great. Sweat droplets, they're
- 37:50sweating a lot.
- 37:52There's a lot of fire. I mean, this is
- 37:55like, insanely hot. I mean, it's like trying to rain on
- 37:58a volcano.
- 38:00Um.
- 38:03What else? Around me.
- 38:05Sure. Um, so there's the other positions that I talked about. The
- 38:08furnace itself is just like this giant, massive,
- 38:10stone sort of
- 38:13orb almost, or like a half orb, I guess you could
- 38:16say, uh, with the copy cement of fire in it.
- 38:19Obviously.
- 38:19Nearby you can see the assembly lines. Um,
- 38:23there are the assembly lines where people are putting the
- 38:26pieces together. There are the assembly lines where people are putting
- 38:29this broken up pieces of metal onto or
- 38:32like the ore for the metal. Um,
- 38:35and that's what's getting transported into the furnace
- 38:38itself. Um, there's the molten
- 38:41metal that's coming out of the furnace and that's getting taken
- 38:44away. Um,
- 38:47trying m to think of what else. Is there anything in particular you're
- 38:50hoping to find?
- 38:53Something useful.
- 38:55Something useful? That's a broad concept.
- 38:57Well, you don't necessarily want to be
- 39:00obvious about blocking the
- 39:03bellows.
- 39:04Sure.
- 39:06Um, the bellows themselves are made out of some sort of like almost, uh,
- 39:09fabricy material, which is what allows them
- 39:11to open.
- 39:13Potentially. Take
- 39:17one of those broken pieces of metal and try
- 39:20and tear the fabric.
- 39:21You might be able to yeah, that could work.
- 39:24Okay, we'll try that.
- 39:25Okay.
- 39:26So you go over to the conveyor
- 39:29belt where the metal is being brought in. Um,
- 39:32and you kind of just join the line and they're, like I
- 39:35said, kind of processing the metal, deciding what pieces,
- 39:37if anything, needs to get pushed in or thrown in by hand, whatever the
- 39:40case. Right. Um, sure enough, as you
- 39:43kind of just join into what they're doing, kind of follow their example. But
- 39:46secretly you're looking and you find a long
- 39:49piece of protruding metal. It looks like it
- 39:52could have been an old spear of some kind,
- 39:54possibly. Um, but it's kind of
- 39:57bent and warped or whatever. So whoever
- 40:00previously owned it doesn't really want it anymore. And so
- 40:03they threw it out and this is where it ended up.
- 40:07Um, I am going
- 40:10to take it
- 40:13and hide it within my skirt
- 40:15dress thing.
- 40:17Okay.
- 40:17Actually, I'm in the
- 40:20uniform and I.
- 40:22Yeah, you got like, the apron. I mean, it's more like over your
- 40:25clothes, I guess, technically.
- 40:27Well, I'm going to try and hide it.
- 40:29Okay.
- 40:29Yeah, absolutely. Um, let's
- 40:32do a push your luck, which is
- 40:35with passion
- 40:38ten.
- 40:38Okay.
- 40:39Um, your boldness pays off despite the cost. Uh, you gain
- 40:42an additional lucky opportunity.
- 40:45Um, okay.
- 40:49Tearing the fabric indiscreetly.
- 40:51Got it.
- 40:52Possibly, yeah.
- 40:53Um, so you take the spear and you kind of put it into
- 40:56your clothing in some way, shape or form. Um,
- 40:59but it definitely works. Nobody notices around
- 41:02you. You do this, um, as you are
- 41:05doing this, uh, somebody over on the
- 41:08bellows collapses.
- 41:11Ah. They're just sprawled out on the floor. They are completely
- 41:13unconscious. Uh, one of the sort of manager
- 41:16people, in fact, it's the same one that was just giving Brock some
- 41:19crap, uh, just moments ago, comes rushing over.
- 41:22And says, get this guy off of the
- 41:25get him out of here. Uh, if he's not working,
- 41:28dock his pay. Uh, he's not working right now. So obviously
- 41:31these hours don't count. Uh, let's see.
- 41:34Somebody needs to run. Ben. Ah, you there.
- 41:36And he points at you and he.
- 41:37Says, I need you to run bellows. Uh,
- 41:40get him going. We got to keep this fire hot.
- 41:43Yeah. And I walk over there.
- 41:45All right, sounds good. Um, he kind of follows off
- 41:48after the employee that passed out as he's being
- 41:51hauled away by, like, a guard who's just kind of pulling
- 41:54him by his arms. You, uh, take hold of the
- 41:57bellows, kind of following in suit with the other person
- 41:59that's doing it. Uh, so now you're on bellows duty, and you
- 42:02have this spear in your possession.
- 42:06I'm just here to reach around and.
- 42:08Just poke a hole.
- 42:10Yeah.
- 42:11Do you do it discreetly in any way,
- 42:13uh, to avoid this other employee that's
- 42:16also doing it, uh, with you, or are you doing anything to keep
- 42:19them from noticing, or are you just kind of going for it?
- 42:22I feel like I can do it
- 42:25pretty discreetly because I'm sure
- 42:28with the both of us, it's probably,
- 42:30like, putting more effort into
- 42:34sure.
- 42:35Oh, you're going off the hope that they're kind of
- 42:37distracted.
- 42:38Uh, tired and distracted. His
- 42:41partner just passed out or whatever.
- 42:43Sure.
- 42:43I'll have you do one more push. Your luck.
- 42:50Ten again.
- 42:52All right. Awesome. Sure enough, as
- 42:55you lift up, you stab
- 42:58very careful. Uh, I'm imagining you
- 43:00have the spear kind of hidden by your leg,
- 43:03and so you kick your leg out in such a way that it
- 43:06kind of shoots the spear out from underneath your
- 43:09skirt and pokes it into it so that definitely nobody would
- 43:12see that you do this. Um, you kick
- 43:15so hard that the spear actually pokes all the way
- 43:18through this bellows and out the other side. And
- 43:21as you push down, the air just kind of comes out the
- 43:24side, and it deflates really quickly. So the
- 43:27other person on the other side just kind of, like, falls really quickly to the ground
- 43:30and then scrambles to get up, and they're like.
- 43:34Oh, no, this is not
- 43:36good. Oh, dear.
- 43:38Uh, and so it's just kind of looking around wildly, like, not
- 43:41sure what to do. They're, um, a bit
- 43:44distracted. Uh, they might
- 43:47think it might have been their fault, or they just have no
- 43:50idea what to do in this situation, and they're really worried about getting
- 43:53in trouble.
- 43:58I'm going to panic with them.
- 44:00Okay.
- 44:01Just, like, play along. Um okay.
- 44:04What does that look like?
- 44:06Um.
- 44:08I'm just going to kind of, like, throw my hands up in the air.
- 44:11Like you just don't care, or like you do care.
- 44:14Like I do care.
- 44:15Or like an interpretive dance.
- 44:19The dance, uh, interpretation is
- 44:22panic, and.
- 44:23I'm going to say, oh, no. What are we going to do?
- 44:26I don't know.
- 44:27I'm going to kind of run to the side and
- 44:30see if I can pull out the spear.
- 44:32Okay. Yeah.
- 44:33You're able to pull it out, but now it's got these
- 44:36gaping holes in it. Of course.
- 44:39Yeah.
- 44:39And I'm just going to toss in the other one.
- 44:42Not discreetly.
- 44:45Are you doing it like oh, no.
- 44:47I did it by accident.
- 44:48Yeah.
- 44:48Okay. All right.
- 44:49So, yeah, I'm going to just go with it. You toss
- 44:52the spear as if you were just getting it out of
- 44:55the way, but in truth, it goes shooting forward and
- 44:58into one of the other belt or the other
- 45:00bellows. Now, uh, it has a bit of a protruding
- 45:03hole in it, and now they're freaking out.
- 45:07You guys have a hole? Oh, no, we all have.
- 45:10What are we going to do?
- 45:13Oh, no, not my
- 45:16fellow.
- 45:20Um, everybody's panicking at this point. They're freaking
- 45:23out. They're shouting it back and forth at each other. What do you
- 45:25do?
- 45:28Hey, guys, I'll go see if I can find some
- 45:30fabric or something to try and repair the
- 45:33bellows.
- 45:34Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. Yeah. Find us a
- 45:37patch.
- 45:37Yeah, you got it. And I'm going to run towards
- 45:40one of those three who's that closest?
- 45:42Yeah. Okay. Awesome.
- 45:43All right, we'll jump over to let's
- 45:46see. The, um, furnace is definitely down
- 45:49right now. The furnace is starting to
- 45:52cool without the assistance of the air that
- 45:54keeps the heat really, like, pumping. Um,
- 45:57that's not good for it. So that's definitely on
- 46:00the problematic side. Uh, let's jump
- 46:03to the casters. Bill, you're
- 46:06on the casters duty. Uh, you
- 46:09approach and you see these large
- 46:11metal or actually no stone. It's got
- 46:14to be stone. You see these large stone or
- 46:17various stone casters. They are just,
- 46:20uh, inlaid with sort of a shape for a specific
- 46:23piece of whatever these things that they're building
- 46:25is. Um, as they
- 46:28move on a conveyor belt, like much of the things in
- 46:31this, uh, room, as they move by
- 46:34sort of the other end of the furnace, there's some containers
- 46:37that go into the furnace. They pull out the molten metal and
- 46:40then they dump it into these casters. Um, the
- 46:43casters come around a long ways to get to your
- 46:46area, um, giving the metal some time
- 46:48to cool. Your job as you look
- 46:51around and see the other people working is
- 46:54to turn this caster upside
- 46:57down and make sure that the metal comes out of
- 46:59it so that it can move on to the people that put it all
- 47:02together. What parts is it making?
- 47:06Um, it looks like a lot of gears. These
- 47:09aren't like the big ones. You can see the area where the big
- 47:11ones are being worked on. But it's kind of a special process
- 47:14that revolves a lot more like machinery in and of
- 47:17itself. But, um, these are sort of for the smaller pieces. So
- 47:20you've got your gears, your cogs, your
- 47:24various, um, pieces along those lines, uh,
- 47:26your handles, your cup holders.
- 47:32M. Okay, but obviously these
- 47:35are key pieces. Big machine.
- 47:38I would even go as far as to argue that these are the very
- 47:41small but very important pieces. Like,
- 47:44if something came out and wasn't quite right,
- 47:47the whole machine wouldn't run. Kind of thing like the spark plugs
- 47:50and the engine components. Um,
- 47:53and of course, because they're such specific
- 47:56and necessary pieces,
- 47:58anything that happens to the casters would
- 48:01cause a lot of problems with development of
- 48:04more of these, uh, weapons or war machines or
- 48:07whatever it is that they're designing, because they would have to
- 48:10get brand new ones of these casters. You can't just fix it,
- 48:13per se. You would have to order a whole new caster in order to
- 48:16get the piece just right. How do you break
- 48:19a caster?
- 48:20Hmm? Uh.
- 48:25Easy brewing stone caster. Do you
- 48:28have your staff with you? Yeah.
- 48:30Okay.
- 48:31I have a staff on my back. Uh, you definitely notice
- 48:34a couple of strange looks from some of the other employees as they
- 48:37see it sticking out from death glare
- 48:39back.
- 48:40Okay.
- 48:40They don't look at you again after.
- 48:44Uh, just stand there.
- 48:47Okay. Go ahead.
- 48:47I have a metal plate.
- 48:49Okay.
- 48:50Right. Yeah, they're moving. Is
- 48:53there a hole on the top of the
- 48:55caster? What was the caster?
- 49:00It comes in on the conveyor belt. And then you would just take the
- 49:03caster, you'd flip it over, pop the piece out, and then
- 49:06put it back and let it go back?
- 49:08Yeah.
- 49:08Okay, so casters are just a bunch of smaller parts?
- 49:11Yeah. So I had to destroy all these little
- 49:14parts. Uh, some of them come in. They're, like, medium size.
- 49:17I mean, they can get kind of large, a bit
- 49:19heavy. That's the situation.
- 49:23Okay, go for it.
- 49:24Me saying skyler, please. I have
- 49:27absolutely no idea what to do here. Eight.
- 49:30Okay, so on a seven to nine, you can ask one of the
- 49:32questions. Uh, they are, what here can I
- 49:35use to blame destroy the casters? What here can I use to
- 49:38destroy? Hey, you know, that's how
- 49:41it goes sometimes. You see that over on the
- 49:44side? Uh, there are some hammers that
- 49:47are used. Uh, you watch as one of the employees, they're shaking
- 49:50the caster. It's not coming out. So they go over, they get a
- 49:52hammer. And, uh, it's a typical
- 49:55ball pen hammer kind of a thing, or not even a ball pin. I don't know
- 49:58whatever it is. But it's got the hook side and then the
- 50:01blunt side. And they'll usually use the hook side to try
- 50:04to work the piece out. Pop it out of the caster. It's good
- 50:07to go. Um, but there's always the
- 50:10blunt side. These are not metal casters. Keep that
- 50:13in mind. These are stone.
- 50:14Oh, yeah. Okay.
- 50:16Um, is there a sledgehammer? Yes. Okay, I'm going to
- 50:19grab it.
- 50:20Okay.
- 50:20You got a sledgehammer. It does not look like it's
- 50:23been used a long time. In fact, you can kind of well, you have gloves on,
- 50:26but you can see dust kind of come off of it. You, um,
- 50:29wonder why it's even here. Maybe in case of
- 50:32emergency or something. I'm going to walk over to my stand. I'm
- 50:35just going to kind of lean on my sledgehammer.
- 50:37Okay.
- 50:37And then do I hear the ruckus
- 50:40that has been caused over at the, uh
- 50:44sure. Yeah, it's not
- 50:47far.
- 50:48Oh. I'm going to be like, hey, what's.
- 50:49Going on over there? Um, some of the people
- 50:52kind of, like, glance over at you, but they look a little like they
- 50:55don't want to glance at you because they're worried you might glare
- 50:58at them again. Do you guys hear, though, that commotion.
- 51:01Over at the furnace?
- 51:03Uh, a couple of them look up and they look over towards the
- 51:05furnace. They kind of peek a little bit, and then they kind of nod
- 51:08their heads. Wonder what that's all about.
- 51:12We should go check it out.
- 51:14They're looking around.
- 51:16Um, I'm not going to leave my station. That's how you get
- 51:19in trouble.
- 51:20Oh, okay.
- 51:24I know the clipboard guy.
- 51:26I know the guy in charge. You won't mind.
- 51:28Well, we all know who's in charge.
- 51:30Yeah, it's that new guy. I'm going to point at Brock.
- 51:33The clipboard guy just standing there? Yeah, I was going to say
- 51:36you are supervising. You see Bill point at
- 51:39you over there as you supervise. He's a new
- 51:42supervisor. You look up from your blank rock
- 51:44clipboard and you see Bill pointing at
- 51:47you.
- 51:48I just kind of nod back at, like,
- 51:50yep, give him a thumbs up.
- 51:54Oh, that's perfect. See,
- 51:57you'll be fine. You gave me a thumbs.
- 52:01Uh, m a uh, let's do a
- 52:03plead. Okay.
- 52:06Uh u.
- 52:10Seven and nine. They need something more
- 52:13evidence that this is the right course.
- 52:17He's got a clipboard.
- 52:20Have you ever seen someone in power.
- 52:22Who does give me a thumbs up? What does that even mean?
- 52:25Means that, uh, he has super hearing.
- 52:27I work directly under him, so I know exactly what that
- 52:30thumbs up means. It means you're doing a great job.
- 52:34Everything's under control.
- 52:36Well, how do we know that they even need our help
- 52:39over at the bellow?
- 52:41Listen.
- 52:42He's going to put his ear and
- 52:45just listen to the sounds of
- 52:48voices.
- 52:49Of people going.
- 52:52In the distance. They, uh,
- 52:56all look over to the guy with the clipboard.
- 53:01Uh.
- 53:05You absolutely cannot hear what they're
- 53:07saying.
- 53:13The whole department of
- 53:16casting department just staring at you.
- 53:19I'm just going to look up for my clipboard, and I'm just going to
- 53:22look at I'm just going to point at
- 53:25Bill and I'm just going to point
- 53:27at Bill. That's, uh, all I'm going to do. I can't say
- 53:30anything.
- 53:31Describe how you're pointing. Is it an aggressive point?
- 53:34No, it's like, uh.
- 53:40You loyal.
- 53:43I'm like, yeah, this guy, he's got a
- 53:46good brain in his head, this dude.
- 53:50How many DJ Khaled quotes can we give
- 53:54into this?
- 53:54Episode. Uh, at least another
- 53:57one.
- 53:59Oh, good one. You ever play
- 54:02rugby? Bring up the whole
- 54:05lobster. Wait, tell him to bring out the lobster,
- 54:07then bring up the lobster.
- 54:10Okay, uh, I'm going to say that given the
- 54:13fact that you needed some more reason for
- 54:15them, I would say
- 54:18that's roughly enough reason. They all look at you and they.
- 54:21Say, what do you want us to do?
- 54:24Uh, just run over there, see what.
- 54:25They need help with.
- 54:26I'm sure it will be quick.
- 54:29They just probably need all hands on deck right now.
- 54:32What about the casters?
- 54:34I got it.
- 54:35Are you sure?
- 54:36He left me in charge. He pointed me and everything that he
- 54:38did.
- 54:39All right.
- 54:39And sure enough, uh, a fairly large migration
- 54:42of the caster department starts to head over
- 54:45to go see what's going on over at the bellows. All right. And then I'm
- 54:48going to put, uh, the sledgehammer over my
- 54:51shoulder and start walking towards the caster, looking
- 54:54all like, uh, Ben
- 54:56Stiller.
- 54:58What was that movie?
- 54:59Zoolander. Yeah, Zoolander.
- 55:00Walking to the cast.
- 55:17Um, obviously, Mika, you left because
- 55:20you're off to, quote, unquote, find a patch, which is good
- 55:23because there's a lot of people over there right now and
- 55:26they're all just shouting at the bellows.
- 55:28Like, what are we doing?
- 55:31Sims characters and something.
- 55:35They're not doing anything. Pointing at it.
- 55:37That's right.
- 55:40And they're all like, well, you need to go, dude.
- 55:45I don't know. Someone said they're getting the patch.
- 55:50They're like, don't worry. Someone's coming back with a patch. Well, where are
- 55:53they? We need it now. They're coming.
- 55:56Turns out no one's coming back with.
- 55:57A patch, which gives you ample opportunity to smash a
- 56:00bunch of these casters in a frame.
- 56:02You flash back to Bill, who looks like an
- 56:0580s music video or something.
- 56:09Sweat rolling down. His
- 56:12sparks fly as he smashes these
- 56:15film casks.
- 56:16That's right. Just particles flying up
- 56:19towards him as he's plowing through with a big old smile
- 56:22on his face. Whoa. You're
- 56:25over at the assembly line station. This
- 56:28is technically before all this craziness has gone
- 56:30on, but as you approach, you see people with a number of
- 56:33various tools. Wrenches.
- 56:36Uh, screwdrivers, sure.
- 56:39Mostly, um, wrenches. Let's go with wrenches. Screwdrivers seems a little
- 56:42too modern. Uh, they got wrenches.
- 56:46You take a piece, you put another piece in it.
- 56:49You take a bolt and you tighten that on it. And then
- 56:51you set it down. And each person looks like they have kind of more of a specific
- 56:54they grab very specific pieces that are on the assembly line.
- 56:58They put those together and then they set the completed
- 57:00piece down. And then that goes on
- 57:03and people pick that up and they put that onto some other
- 57:06pieces, so on and so forth. You, uh, have absolutely
- 57:09no idea how this machine is put together. Um,
- 57:12but there's plenty of wrenches, and your
- 57:14job is to screw up the assembly line. What
- 57:17are you doing? All
- 57:20right.
- 57:21Uh, so I go
- 57:23over to the cart with the tools
- 57:26on it and grab some wrenches off
- 57:29of it.
- 57:30Uh, use dual wielding wrenches.
- 57:34Also grab, like, a hammer, one that has,
- 57:37like, the pointed side to it.
- 57:39Okay.
- 57:40Or maybe a crowbar or something.
- 57:42Oh, yeah, there's definitely one of those.
- 57:44Let's grab a whole tool belt.
- 57:50Woe the toolman
- 57:53spin on the ground.
- 57:58True cover.
- 58:00Adjust my hard hat a bit to cover dilbert
- 58:03who is still on my head.
- 58:07Uh, all right, so this assembly line,
- 58:10is it made out of is it like a belt?
- 58:12Yeah, it's kind of just like sort of a
- 58:15rotating belt. So, um, you actually
- 58:18see on either side of, uh,
- 58:21these assembly lines, there's literally a dude that has to just
- 58:23crank the assembly line. That's just all he does all day
- 58:26is just cranks the assembly line so that it's constantly moving. There's
- 58:29somebody at each one of the different sort of assembly lines, but
- 58:32this one's the primary one. The other ones are just like, pick
- 58:35up the metal, dump it into the casings. Not a big deal. But this
- 58:38one's the one that makes sure that the pieces are getting put together,
- 58:41obviously. So it's pretty vital.
- 58:44Not that the others aren't, but I digress.
- 58:48And so the
- 58:50pieces that are coming through. Um,
- 58:54let's see. First off, I'm going to go up to the more
- 58:57beginning where
- 59:00there's fewer pieces that have been assembled
- 59:03yet.
- 59:04Okay. Um.
- 59:08And I'm going to
- 59:12is there a person working on this section of.
- 59:14It, um, like, where the initial pieces kind of
- 59:17pop out?
- 59:18Yeah.
- 59:18Um, not so much here. Uh, the line starts a little bit
- 59:21further down, and that's where they start to
- 59:24collect them. So you have to kind of give them a second to cool down
- 59:27once they get popped out of the casters before you can start
- 59:30picking them up and putting them together and stuff like that.
- 59:33So I'm going to take the crowbar.
- 59:36And.
- 59:39Try to pry off the side of
- 59:41the assembly line like the guard
- 59:44that's keeping all the stuff on the belt.
- 59:47Okay.
- 59:48Uh, you start doing this, uh, and somebody approaches
- 59:51you. He's, uh, holding a clipboard. It's
- 59:54not the same guy as before. Actually, you know, it is the same
- 59:57guys before. There's, like, one manager guy that's been working
- 59:59here in this area.
- 1:00:01And he says, what exactly are you
- 1:00:04doing?
- 1:00:06Oh, I just got to take this fender off
- 1:00:09here to lube the bearings.
- 1:00:12That's pretty good. Do, uh, you want to roll me a
- 1:00:15trick?
- 1:00:18No, I got a seven.
- 1:00:19A seven?
- 1:00:20All right.
- 1:00:21Uh, so you pick one. Uh, they stumble. You take plus one
- 1:00:24forward. When acting against them, they act foolishly. The
- 1:00:26GM me tells you an additional opportunity that you
- 1:00:29get. Or they overcommit, and they are deceived.
- 1:00:32For sometimes they over commit deceived
- 1:00:35for some time.
- 1:00:37I know what
- 1:00:40oh, yeah. Sorry about that.
- 1:00:42I didn't mean to confuse, uh, or
- 1:00:45get, uh, into your business. Uh, yeah, you do what you
- 1:00:48got to do.
- 1:00:49I'd like for him to stop the assembly line while I
- 1:00:52do this, but time is money.
- 1:00:55That's fair. That's fair. Yeah. Uh, sorry I
- 1:00:58can't help you with that. But, uh, if you really need
- 1:01:01it, I don't know, i, uh, can check with upper
- 1:01:03management and see if that's allowed. But in, uh, the
- 1:01:06meantime yeah. Uh, do what you got to do. Sorry, I didn't
- 1:01:09mean to bother you.
- 1:01:10Oh, no worries. It's a nice clipboard you got there.
- 1:01:13Oh, thanks. Yeah, I appreciate
- 1:01:16it.
- 1:01:16There you go. Get, uh, your opinion on something.
- 1:01:19Uh, you think my clipboard is nicer than that guy's over there?
- 1:01:22He plants over at Brock?
- 1:01:26It is a bigger clipboard, though. I mean, look at this
- 1:01:28thing.
- 1:01:29Uh, it's got nice features.
- 1:01:32This is a better clip.
- 1:01:33I mean, this is specially made.
- 1:01:34Look at it's.
- 1:01:35Got my name it's got my name engraved on it.
- 1:01:37Yeah, it looks like, uh, an
- 1:01:40efficient product there.
- 1:01:43Thank you.
- 1:01:43Streamlined. Yeah,
- 1:01:46it's more efficient than that. Whatever.
- 1:01:48That thing is made of rocks. Looks a little
- 1:01:51bulky. Yeah. All right. Anyway, you're all
- 1:01:54right? No. Uh, do what you got to do.
- 1:01:57Uh, I appreciate it keeping the assembly.
- 1:01:58Line, uh, up to date where it's got to be.
- 1:02:01All right.
- 1:02:01Get back to it. Carry on.
- 1:02:03All right, so let's see, where are these
- 1:02:06parts coming out at?
- 1:02:08Yeah, so they come from the assembly
- 1:02:11line kind of continues around. So it's like one big circle
- 1:02:13around the furnace. So they come from
- 1:02:16the caster section. Casters. Pop them out
- 1:02:19of casters. Then they come around to you. Give it some time to cool,
- 1:02:22and then you put it together. All right.
- 1:02:25Uh, what was going to take
- 1:02:27the crowbar and stick it in, like,
- 1:02:30the other side. So he's
- 1:02:33cleared off the guard on the one side, so it's just, like,
- 1:02:36open.
- 1:02:37Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:37Uh, he's going to take going across.
- 1:02:41The entire underside of the
- 1:02:44no, like the top side.
- 1:02:45Oh, okay.
- 1:02:47And so it's, like, diverting the parts.
- 1:02:49Uh, just onto the,
- 1:02:53um.
- 1:02:55All right.
- 1:02:56What else can I do here? Uh,
- 1:02:59it goes to another section. He,
- 1:03:01uh, goes up to the worker on
- 1:03:04that section. He says, uh, oh, hey,
- 1:03:08Brock. Guy at the clipboard over there said
- 1:03:11it's time to take your mandatory break.
- 1:03:14Oh, my break? Oh, fantastic. Yeah.
- 1:03:17You don't have to tell me twice.
- 1:03:19And he just heads off to the
- 1:03:22break room.
- 1:03:22Hopefully nobody ate his lunch.
- 1:03:27Only.
- 1:03:32So Guo's gonna use the hammer now
- 1:03:34to, like well, he's just gonna crawl
- 1:03:37underneath this part of the assembly
- 1:03:40line.
- 1:03:40Okay.
- 1:03:41And he's going to take the wrench and
- 1:03:44just start untightening bolts
- 1:03:46underneath there.
- 1:03:47Okay.
- 1:03:48So eventually it'll
- 1:03:51loosen itself and the crank
- 1:03:54will unscrew or whatever.
- 1:03:56Absolutely.
- 1:03:56He's going to take the bolt completely off.
- 1:03:59And then just, like, chuck it.
- 1:04:03So, yeah, you unscrew the bolt. Uh, you pop it
- 1:04:06off and as you do, things start to buckle a little
- 1:04:09bit on the assembly line and you can hear it just
- 1:04:13to, like, a stop. This is happening just
- 1:04:16as the massive distraction over at the
- 1:04:18bellows is happening. And so, uh, rather
- 1:04:21than hearing people.
- 1:04:22Go, oh, what's happening to the conveyor belt?
- 1:04:24You hear footsteps starting to walk away
- 1:04:27from the conveyor belt as they go to investigate
- 1:04:30what's going on over at the bellows, which is perfect
- 1:04:33because the assembly line is, like, at a full stop
- 1:04:36right now. Uh, whatever you pulled out of it has
- 1:04:39completely stopped it. And obviously it was a key
- 1:04:41piece that you've just tossed aside and
- 1:04:44has gone who knows where.
- 1:04:48Um, so I'm going to go to the next
- 1:04:50section and just be like, repeat the thing.
- 1:04:53Sure, yeah.
- 1:04:55Brock with the clipboard said it's time to go on your break.
- 1:04:57Oh, there's not even anybody there. They've all gone to
- 1:05:00investigate the Bella.
- 1:05:01Okay, so then I just take the hammer and I start whacking
- 1:05:04the crank.
- 1:05:08Yeah.
- 1:05:09You bend it horribly into, like, a warped ah
- 1:05:12situation. Um, and you do this from piece or section
- 1:05:15to section until all the sections have sort of a
- 1:05:17different problem that's wrong with them.
- 1:05:20Like, one I take, like, a knife
- 1:05:23and just cut through the belt.
- 1:05:26The other one is like, all right, Dilbert, do
- 1:05:29your thing. It's like cover with.
- 1:05:35Lube it up.
- 1:05:35For there it is.
- 1:05:37Yeah.
- 1:05:38You have sufficiently like I said, you've caused such a
- 1:05:40versatile amount of different damage to
- 1:05:43the entire conveyor belt, it would take somebody
- 1:05:46a massive amount of time to not only find and that's
- 1:05:49assuming they even have all the pieces, since you've kind of
- 1:05:52tossed some of them who knows where.
- 1:05:55Um, so, yes, you have definitely
- 1:05:58destroyed the assembly line. Um, right.
- 1:06:01Now, Mika, I assume you said you were
- 1:06:04coming over to meet with, ah, one of them.
- 1:06:06Right.
- 1:06:06Um, now the four of you have
- 1:06:09completed your tasks, or three of you have completed your tasks. I mean, I guess,
- 1:06:12Brock, you've completed the task of supervising.
- 1:06:14I was a great supervisor.
- 1:06:15You were a great supervisor. You nodded and pointed and
- 1:06:18thumbsed up. You brought out the whole as necessary.
- 1:06:20I brought out the whole ocean, man. I got us in the building.
- 1:06:23That's right. Okay, so now you've all completed your
- 1:06:26tasks. You've sabotaged your pieces. Yeah. How
- 1:06:29are you getting out of here?
- 1:06:30I mean, I got the clipboard. I'm just going to walk out the front door. Walk out the front
- 1:06:33door.
- 1:06:34Okay.
- 1:06:34All right.
- 1:06:34And I mean, if they're behind me, I'm just like, yeah, I got to take these guys
- 1:06:37on some extra training.
- 1:06:39Let me act that out. Uh, sure enough, there's the two
- 1:06:42guards that are just outside the door and.
- 1:06:44They say, hey, uh, where are you guys?
- 1:06:46Going?
- 1:06:48I just got some four new hires. We, uh, got
- 1:06:51to take them on a full tour, and I got to take them on
- 1:06:54the outside. Just, uh, show them around.
- 1:06:56Oh, okay.
- 1:06:57Take the old Circumference check.
- 1:06:59Yeah.
- 1:07:00Sir.
- 1:07:01Perimeter knowledge and such. Okay.
- 1:07:03Uh, yeah, sure.
- 1:07:05Uh, hey, uh, what's going on in there? Oh,
- 1:07:08inside? Yeah. There's, like, shouting and
- 1:07:10stuff.
- 1:07:11Uh, there's some of those company disputes.
- 1:07:14Some people wanted to ask for dental insurance.
- 1:07:17Could you imagine if we had dental?
- 1:07:23Yeah. It'd be anarchy.
- 1:07:25I mean, I love my dental, but those guys,
- 1:07:28they're making minimum wage. Who cares?
- 1:07:31Exactly. Part of the job. Hey, um,
- 1:07:36real quick, uh, it's not like, a union
- 1:07:38thing, right?
- 1:07:40Someone brought up that word.
- 1:07:41No, they brought it up.
- 1:07:43They wanted to unionize.
- 1:07:47Headache already.
- 1:07:48That's why we got these new hires. They don't know about the
- 1:07:51union.
- 1:07:53See?
- 1:07:54They don't know.
- 1:07:55This is why we got to bring in new guys every week.
- 1:07:57He just glares at Bill, and he's like, don't even say that
- 1:08:00word.
- 1:08:00I don't want to hear that word out of your mouth. If you hear
- 1:08:03anybody say that word, you tell me who
- 1:08:06it was. All right? He was inside. Yeah. All
- 1:08:09right, well, we're going to find out about that. Anyway, sorry. Don't mean to
- 1:08:12bother you. Uh, have a great, uh, I don't.
- 1:08:14Know, rest of orientation. Uh,
- 1:08:17let us know if you guys need anything.
- 1:08:19Will do. You have a great day, sir.
- 1:08:21All right. Wonderful.
- 1:08:23Um, as you guys walk out I mean, where are you guys headed now
- 1:08:26that you're out of the factory? Doesn't
- 1:08:28matter. Away.
- 1:08:30Yeah.
- 1:08:34Oh, back to the theater for your party.
- 1:08:36That's way.
- 1:08:37Later. How long are we in there?
- 1:08:40Were we only in there?
- 1:08:41You guys walk out of the Factory, and then you kind of, like, go
- 1:08:44around the building a little bit, and then you just kind of stem off into the
- 1:08:47this is where we ditch the guys.
- 1:08:49We forgot to clock out
- 1:08:52overtime.
- 1:08:54And as you guys are making your way down the path, uh,
- 1:08:57you can start hearing escalated shouts and such
- 1:09:00from the Factory as more and more things you start to
- 1:09:03see. Uh, actually, the Billowing
- 1:09:06smoke from above starts to dissipate ever so slightly,
- 1:09:09and you notice there's quite a significant less amount
- 1:09:11of that smoke. Um, and as you walk
- 1:09:14away proudly, a, uh, voice emanates
- 1:09:17from behind you, and he says,
- 1:09:20hey, that was pretty well done in
- 1:09:22there. And you turn around. Standing
- 1:09:25before you is a fansely dressed man in
- 1:09:28ridiculously colorful clothing, and he
- 1:09:30says the name's Mayu
- 1:09:33Yinyu. It's great to meet all of you.
