Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello, it's Megan.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Happy fall equinox, everybody.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: I am just gonna talk a little bit about the fall equinox, which happened last night and we're in it now.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: So, what is the fall equinox?
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: That means equal day, equal night.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: I never knew that.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: So this um season is all about balance and it's also about release.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Um it is um a beautiful time to figure out what you want to release in this season.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: We're moving into darker days, the darkness.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: And instead of thinking in thinking about it in an ominous way, let's romanticize that darkness, let's get cozy in that darkness.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: So um things that you can do, little um rituals or practices that you can do is um one thing is shadow work, and I haven't done a ton of that, but I think I'm gonna look into that this season, and it's just looking at things um in your life that you feel guilty about or um you don't like or have sort of a negative feeling, and um now is a good time to befriend that part of you and show that part of you that you accept her, accept him, um, and you know, befriend it and thank it and be grateful for what it has given you, but also you know, be able to release what um is not serving you, what is bringing you um negativity.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: So um another thing you can do is I'm doing a breath work session on Thursday evening.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: So that's Thursday the 24th, and we're gonna go and breathe into the fall equinox and really have an intention of going into this darker season and really just making it making the best of it and really enjoying it and preparing for the darkness.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um I am going to do is in the evenings, I'm gonna be journaling um with tea.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: So it's good to have a nice warm drink and um maybe light a candle.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Um you can also build a little altar, which I'm kind of thinking of doing um with all the five elements.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: So the elements are water, fire, earth, air, and spirit.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: So for water, you could just have a bowl of water or a little dish with water in it.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: For fire, a candle, for earth, you can have salt or some dirt or a rock, um, air, you can have incense, and for spirit, it could be a mirror, um, and you can put some things from nature, some leaves or sticks or um anything from nature there.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: And um, I will have for my spirit too, I will probably have something that represents the Holy Spirit.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Um, and you can do your kind of nighttime cozy ritual um every evening or every evening that you have time.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And some of the things um to think about in the beginning of this time are um three kind of concepts.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: So harvest um that comes to mind in the fall.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: So think about what you have been growing um kind of inside you, so internally, what has been going on for you?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: What feelings have you had?
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: What um you know, what has your soul been saying to you?
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: What have you been um spending your time on, spending your thoughts on, and you know, what has grown in you?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and also um the next one is balance, since we're talking about balance, and actually we are moving into Libra season, which is my daughter's um sign, and it is all about balance, it's the two scales.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: So, how is your balance in your life?
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: Like um working and playing, loving yourself and loving others, giving and receiving, um connecting, like how does your life look?
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: Um does your internal self match your external life?
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: What is you know off balance there?
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: What could you do internally or externally to come more into balance, more into alignment with who you are inside?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Um, and then the last one is release.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: So um, after looking at what you've been harvesting, what you've been building, how you've been growing, what's in balance, what's not in balance, what would you like more for your life, and then you think about what you can release.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: So um you think about nothing in nature goes into the season with the same weight that it had in the lighter days.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: So it's shedding the leaves, it's you know, shutting down and just kind of moving inside and um you know planning to just kind of hunker down for the season.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: One way that you can think about releasing is um well, one way you could do it is while you're drinking your tea, you can stir it counterclockwise, and that is symbolizing release, and that will help the energy um release.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Another fun thing to do is you can take an apple and um cut it the way where the star shows up, so crossways, and once you see the first star, then cut and have five slices.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: And while you eat each slice, you can think about one thing that you are grateful for, and um that that star in the middle of the apple symbolizes the five elements water, fire, earth, air, and spirit.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: So that's a fun little thing you could do to really think about what you are thankful for.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Um, what else do I have for you here?
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: So um you could also do a fun, like make a feast or think about during this dark season, you know, maybe on the weekends if you're working, um, you know, simmering and cooking things like stews or soups, um seasonal vegetables, roasting vegetables, using spices and um herbs and um just taking time to be thankful and grateful for the food that has been harvested in the season and then eating it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: You know, it's it's God's food, it's stuff that grew uh in the earth.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Um you can also what was the other thing I wanted to say?
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Um I think that is it.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, nature walk.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: So you could go on a nature walk and just the important thing about this walk is don't have, you know, like a podcast going, don't have music, just really breathe in the air, listen to the sounds, see, touch, um, you know, touch, hug a tree or um really, you know, feel branches, pick up the crunchy leaves, and just really immerse yourself in this beautiful nature and being grateful for that beauty and that that this world that we all get to live in and enjoy.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: So um yeah, I'm really excited for this fall season.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: If you want to go a little bit deeper with this, join us tomorrow for our fall equinox breathwork session, and we will breathe into these intentions, and you may just have some amazing epiphanies.

- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Let's like romanticize the heck out of this season and let's get cozy and just enjoy and um you know flourish in the darkness.
