Lucas: Alright. So 'restaurant' in Amharic is ምግብ ቤት. Luna: ምግብ ቤት. Lucas: Good. ምግብ means 'food', and ቤት means 'house'. So literally 'food house'. Say it again. Luna: ምግብ ቤት. Lucas: Perfect. And 'hotel' is ሆቴል. It's a borrowed word, so it sounds similar. Luna: ሆቴል. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's ask where they are. Remember from last episode: 'where is' is የት ነው. So 'where is the restaurant?' is ምግብ ቤቱ የት ነው? Luna: ምግብ ቤቱ የት ነው? Lucas: Yes! The -u at the end of ምግብ ቤት makes it 'the restaurant'. So ምግብ ቤቱ. Now 'where is the hotel?' ሆቴሉ የት ነው? Luna: ሆቴሉ የት ነው? Lucas: You've got it. Now let's say 'I go to the restaurant.' Use እሄዳለሁ from episode 112. ወደ ምግብ ቤት እሄዳለሁ. Luna: ወደ ምግብ ቤት እሄዳለሁ. Lucas: And 'I go to the hotel' — ወደ ሆቴል እሄዳለሁ. Luna: ወደ ሆቴል እሄዳለሁ. Lucas: Let's practice a mini scene. Imagine you're in Addis and you ask me: ሆቴሉ የት ነው? Luna: ሆቴሉ የት ነው? Lucas: I'd say: ቀጥ ብለህ ሂድ. That's 'go straight' from episode 110. Luna: Oh, so that's useful!
