- 1:30Speaker 3: We would love to have you over there. Good news
- 1:33Speaker 3: about the Way Home. Tell me it has been officially
- 1:35Speaker 3: renewed for a season two officially officially officially via Hallmark.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I will wonder when they're going to start production on that,
- 1:42Speaker 3: hopefully soon'd be great if we could get a season
- 1:45Speaker 3: two in twenty twenty three.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I doubt it.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I highly doubt it.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Don't you think so? I do?
- 1:50Speaker 1: I do?
- 1:51Speaker 3: I do?
- 1:52Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:52Speaker 1: We all know Hallmark can do a tight turnaround.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I think this.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Series was really thoughtfully planned, and I think that takes
- 2:04Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Of time to do.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Yeah. I wonder if a script has been written or outlined,
- 2:09Speaker 4: like what are they gonna do? And it scares me
- 2:11Speaker 4: because like I always feel like the sophomore year of
- 2:13Speaker 4: a show can sometimes not be great.
- 2:16Speaker 3: That is definitely a possibility. Let me ask Friday Night Lights.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Friday Night Lights season two was not great. I don't
- 2:23Speaker 4: remember it so long ago now, No, and I believe
- 2:25Speaker 4: it was like during the writer's strike as well. Abbott
- 2:27Speaker 4: Elementary has that for season two.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Oh it's great, that's actually great.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Season two of ted Lasso not great. Had some highlights,
- 2:35Speaker 4: but overall not great.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a little darker. Yes. Season two of
- 2:39Speaker 1: The West Wing great.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Okay, well it's a fifty to fifty shot here.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We'll be here to see. Yes, how it goes? You
- 2:47Speaker 3: need a synopsis?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Actually, can I do something first? Yeah, while I pull
- 2:51Speaker 1: up a synopsis. Yeah.
- 2:52Speaker 3: So we have made a point of pointing out the
- 2:56Speaker 3: release dates of the song titles of the show. The
- 3:00Speaker 3: End of the World as We Know It is a
- 3:01Speaker 3: nineteen eighty seven song, Oh is it? Now? The writers
- 3:07Speaker 3: of this show had no obligation to use song titles
- 3:10Speaker 3: from the nineties.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Sure, I think the End of the World as.
- 3:13Speaker 3: We Know It is a great title.
- 3:15Speaker 1: For this episode.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But in my mind, this is a show about the
- 3:18Speaker 3: nineties and about present day, and so I get really
- 3:22Speaker 3: hung up on that. So I have a couple nineties
- 3:26Speaker 3: suggestions that could work for this episode, hear it. None
- 3:29Speaker 3: of them are as good as the Arim classic. But
- 3:32Speaker 3: it's all coming back to me now.
- 3:34Speaker 1: By Celine Dion. Okay, nice to be with you, mister
- 3:42Speaker 1: big Oh God, I love that song.
- 3:44Speaker 3: As did I a little double meaning like Cat really
- 3:47Speaker 3: wants to she wants Jacob in the present, She really
- 3:50Speaker 3: was dreaming of getting him back in her life. But
- 3:53Speaker 3: then we have a Kat Elliott storyline, We've got an
- 3:56Speaker 3: Alice Spencer storyline, we have I'll be Missing You, Puff
- 4:00Speaker 3: Daddy and Faith Evans nineteen ninety Oh oh yeah good.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Another good one and a little lighthearted.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Can't help falling in Love by Ub forty from nineteen
- 4:08Speaker 3: ninety three.
- 4:09Speaker 4: That was in nineteen ninety three. I graduated from high
- 4:13Speaker 4: school in nineteen ninety three. I don't remember that song
- 4:16Speaker 4: being a standout in my senior year. What I do
- 4:19Speaker 4: remember is Coop, there it is and Knocking Boots and
- 4:23Speaker 4: those hits.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Knocking Boots is a nineteen ninety one class that you're right,
- 4:26Speaker 3: I tell you're having that right wow, Because I was
- 4:30Speaker 3: in sixth grade and I had the knock and Boots
- 4:32Speaker 3: cassette single.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And let me tell you.
- 4:35Speaker 3: When my mother discovered that I owned that single, it
- 4:39Speaker 3: was how did I even come to possess that?
- 4:43Speaker 4: He went down to the record and bought a single
- 4:46Speaker 4: cassette the warehouse.
- 4:50Speaker 3: But that was the hit of my sixth grade year.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right, it was my sophomore year that that
- 4:55Speaker 4: was the jam.
- 4:57Speaker 3: All right, let's hear a synopsis.
- 4:58Speaker 4: All right, Alice go to a New Year's Eve y
- 5:01Speaker 4: two K party to support her friend. Kat finds a
- 5:04Speaker 4: new mystery about her father, while Dell reveals an old
- 5:08Speaker 4: secret about him that's troubled her.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Stay tuned to the end of this episode for her
- 5:13Speaker 3: prediction from Wendy.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I bet I'm not the only one.
- 5:17Speaker 3: This episode opens right where last week's episode left off.
- 5:20Speaker 3: We have Kat chasing with sobbing.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Alice through the woods.
- 5:23Speaker 3: She really wants to talk, but Alice is upset. She says,
- 5:26Speaker 3: now you want to talk, and she jumps right back
- 5:29Speaker 3: into the pond, which.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Is so funny.
- 5:32Speaker 4: I thought, I was like, what a teenage move. Bye,
- 5:36Speaker 4: I'm only hating them jumping into the polsh like we
- 5:39Speaker 4: could never get away from our parents at fifteen.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I know you I'm running away, But Alice is like
- 5:45Speaker 3: going back in time.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just the equivalent to like running up to
- 5:48Speaker 4: your room and slamming the door, like she jumps into
- 5:50Speaker 4: the pond.
- 5:51Speaker 3: It was so funny because Kat was so distraught in
- 5:53Speaker 3: that moment. I thought, well, we could follow her.
- 5:55Speaker 1: She could have yeah, exactly.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Next thing, we're in nineteen ninety nine and a search
- 6:00Speaker 4: team is looking for Jacob. Upon Alice's arrival, Alice talks
- 6:04Speaker 4: to Elliott and Nick and they're out, you know, searching
- 6:07Speaker 4: for Jacob and they're like, oh, your ways. She says
- 6:10Speaker 4: she was searching for Jacob. Alice starts off to the house,
- 6:14Speaker 4: but Elliott tells her it's just family, and she storms away.
- 6:17Speaker 4: She goes, I am family. He's very inksy teenager. Here.
- 6:22Speaker 4: She gets to the house in Dell and Colton are
- 6:25Speaker 4: selecting a photo to give to the police and Colton
- 6:28Speaker 4: Asher's cat that they will find Jacob, and once Alice
- 6:33Speaker 4: gets the cat, she tells Kat like, I'm so sorry.
- 6:35Speaker 4: I did everything I could, and Kat really just dismisses
- 6:38Speaker 4: her in this moment, she says, it's not about you,
- 6:41Speaker 4: and like I hear we're having like a miscommunication obviously,
- 6:45Speaker 4: because Kat's like, I mean sorry, Alice is talking about
- 6:49Speaker 4: a bigger picture here, right that cat is unaware of.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I just find Kat's anger with Alice to be odd.
- 6:58Speaker 1: It's clearly misplaced. Kat's frust herself.
- 7:00Speaker 3: She's upset about the situation and she needs somewhere to
- 7:04Speaker 3: put that, but it's not pointed in the right direction, right.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Brady tells Alice to Lee, yes, Anna.
- 7:11Speaker 4: So Brady consoles Cat and Alice watches from the window,
- 7:14Speaker 4: and I was like, do we have trauma bonding here? Like?
- 7:17Speaker 4: Is this the first like Brady and Cat? Like, is
- 7:20Speaker 4: this why they stay together for so long? Because they
- 7:24Speaker 4: had this like shared traumatic experience? But what does Brady
- 7:29Speaker 4: get to stay and Alice doesn't?
- 7:32Speaker 3: I wrote, but why does Brady get to stay?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Great question because your fifteen year old self, you probably
- 7:38Speaker 3: are going to want the support of your boyfriend.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Over your best friend.
- 7:42Speaker 3: But I thought Kat was a little unfair in that.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I think so too. She is not nice.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Back in present day, Alice is in bed and Cat
- 7:51Speaker 3: brings her food, and Alice is clearly devastated. She's feels
- 7:55Speaker 3: like she's lost her best friend, she wasn't able to
- 7:57Speaker 3: save Jacob. She's upset with her mom. Kat wants to
- 8:01Speaker 3: talk to her and Alice is still not interested, but
- 8:04Speaker 3: Kat says, look, we've both been keeping things from each
- 8:06Speaker 3: other and there is no resolution. So we go downstairs
- 8:10Speaker 3: and Dell is asking about Alice. Dell doesn't have the
- 8:12Speaker 3: bigger picture here. Dell just knows like Alice is in
- 8:15Speaker 3: her room and bothered by something, but she wants to
- 8:18Speaker 3: know what happened. And Kat says, Oh, she's just having
- 8:20Speaker 3: a mental health day. And I wrote the sum of
- 8:23Speaker 3: what Dell doesn't know is wild. Right now, the conversation
- 8:27Speaker 3: changes course, Kat is asking Dell about an exhibition, and
- 8:30Speaker 3: the information about this exhibition is kind of doled out
- 8:34Speaker 3: slowly because it's not quite clear immediately what they're talking
- 8:38Speaker 3: about exactly to me.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Dell says she thinks.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Monica felt badly for blaming her for tearing down the posters,
- 8:45Speaker 3: so she's given Dell this gift of an exhibition. And
- 8:49Speaker 3: in last week's episode, we saw Dell making pottery. We'll
- 8:52Speaker 3: see a lot more about this this episode, but we
- 8:55Speaker 3: went five episodes where I had no information about Dell
- 8:59Speaker 3: being a potter.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah, thought she did, like honey, I thought she ran
- 9:02Speaker 4: the farm, right, Yeah, the pottery came out of nowhere.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yes, right, agree.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Kat says, you know it's an honor, look at it
- 9:10Speaker 3: for what it is.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah, And Dell feels nervous about it. Elliott brings tea
- 9:15Speaker 4: to Kat outside I think they're at the Landry House
- 9:18Speaker 4: here they talk about, you know, giving Alice some space
- 9:22Speaker 4: and cat struggling a bit because after seeing Jacob like
- 9:26Speaker 4: she is upset and Elliott comforts her by telling her
- 9:31Speaker 4: that she got a gift of having one more moment
- 9:34Speaker 4: with Jacob, and she tells him like, she's just done.
- 9:37Speaker 1: With the past.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I'm going to leave the past in the past. For
- 9:41Speaker 3: all of one scene, we see Dell entering Alice's room
- 9:45Speaker 3: to check on her, and Dell has one of those
- 9:47Speaker 3: moments where she's able to be kind of the warm, lighthearted,
- 9:50Speaker 3: grandmotherly figure and she coaxes Alice out of her bed
- 9:54Speaker 3: to help her in the studio. She thinks maybe having
- 9:57Speaker 3: something to do with her hands might help distract her.
- 9:59Speaker 4: F She tells her she's like life is messy and
- 10:02Speaker 4: she needs to get on with it.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And I was like, that's good advice.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Yeah, wallow too long, like whatever she you know, because
- 10:09Speaker 4: obviously Dell does not know what Alice is upset about.
- 10:11Speaker 4: And like, in the nicest way, Dell is like, come on,
- 10:16Speaker 4: you gotta get on with your life. But she I thought, like,
- 10:18Speaker 4: this is one of the nicest, sweetest scenes between Alice
- 10:22Speaker 4: and Dell. Dell is a nice woman.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, she's a better grandmother than she is a mother.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Agree.
- 10:29Speaker 3: A Cat goes to the Herald and she walks in
- 10:31Speaker 3: and asking Byron for work, And the tone here is
- 10:34Speaker 3: so obvious the second.
- 10:35Speaker 1: She walks in. But when she's like, what do you
- 10:37Speaker 1: have for me? I'm like, Cat, where have you been?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Totally You're like, oh, now I'm done with my side project.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I'm willing to do the job you hired me for.
- 10:45Speaker 3: And I'm typing as I'm watching this feels like she's
- 10:47Speaker 3: about to get fired, and she does, which is unsurprising.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Fyron tells her, you spent too much time on your
- 10:54Speaker 3: own research and basically, you're writing kind of sucks lately.
- 10:56Speaker 3: You were not putting your heart into the writing. Was
- 11:00Speaker 3: already a stretch to bring you on, and you're not
- 11:02Speaker 3: proving to be worth the sacrifice. Out Kat appears pissed. Yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 3: she's taking it personally, not really rightfully. So she was
- 11:11Speaker 3: very justifiably fired, in my opinion. And then she's walking
- 11:14Speaker 3: out the door.
- 11:15Speaker 1: By One goes.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Wait, and I get this glimmer that Kat thinks he's
- 11:18Speaker 3: about to change his mind, and he goes I need
- 11:21Speaker 3: everything you took from the archives.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Back from your murder board out. The next thing, we
- 11:27Speaker 4: have Dell and she's, you know, making pottery or she's
- 11:30Speaker 4: in her pottery studio and Alice is looking at what
- 11:33Speaker 4: she's made and they're talking about that kind of stuff,
- 11:36Speaker 4: and they talk about why Delle took up pottery in
- 11:39Speaker 4: the first place, and she tells Alice like it helps
- 11:42Speaker 4: her get out of her head, and she explains that
- 11:46Speaker 4: she wants to teach Alice like how to do it.
- 11:48Speaker 4: So it's a very like sweet moment and they're like
- 11:51Speaker 4: getting ready to like, I don't know, they're doing whatever
- 11:54Speaker 4: on the wheel and walks cat. She doesn't say anything.
- 11:56Speaker 4: She just storms right past them and goes down to
- 11:58Speaker 4: their basement and gets all her articles, pulls her articles
- 12:02Speaker 4: off the board, and she's reminiscing about being on the
- 12:04Speaker 4: porch with Colton crying. I think it's that same scene
- 12:07Speaker 4: where he's like Landry never gives up, right. She pulls
- 12:10Speaker 4: out one of Colton's old shirts from I don't know,
- 12:13Speaker 4: we're just laying there in the basement.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Like at the top of a box.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it was super random, and she like takes a
- 12:18Speaker 4: big whiff out of it, and then she finds this
- 12:20Speaker 4: note in the pocket, and the note says has the
- 12:23Speaker 4: initials MS in an address and a phone number.
- 12:26Speaker 3: And the note is in shockingly good condition for having
- 12:29Speaker 3: been in a pocket for the last time.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Dunt, dunt, dun, what's that note mean?
- 12:32Speaker 3: So we cut to the next morning and Cat and
- 12:34Speaker 3: Dell are in the kitchen and Kat asks her point
- 12:36Speaker 3: blank about.
- 12:36Speaker 1: The note, which I appreciate they just get right to it.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Delle claims not to recognize the note or the number
- 12:42Speaker 3: without actually even looking at it, but she's clearly super
- 12:45Speaker 3: weird about it and blows Cat off and leaves to
- 12:49Speaker 3: take breakfast to Alice.
- 12:50Speaker 1: We cut to Kat.
- 12:51Speaker 3: Talking to Elliott and she's sure Della is hiding something.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Kat has mapped the address and there's nothing there, and
- 12:58Speaker 3: Elliott suggests that maybe you're just at loose ends here
- 13:01Speaker 3: with everything going on, maybe we.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Need to pull back. But Kat is no longer leading
- 13:05Speaker 1: the past.
- 13:06Speaker 3: In the past, she is a journalist chasing a story,
- 13:08Speaker 3: and she tells Elliott calling us up and chase this
- 13:11Speaker 3: twenty year old note with her, and how early are
- 13:13Speaker 3: these people getting up that they're able to have these
- 13:15Speaker 3: meetings before he needs to be at school at seven
- 13:18Speaker 3: something in the.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know, like life on the farm must
- 13:21Speaker 4: start really early. So she does convince him, and by
- 13:24Speaker 4: doing so, she says, we can listen to the CDs,
- 13:27Speaker 4: the mix CDs you used to burn. And I had
- 13:29Speaker 4: to laugh here as we watched this, because if you
- 13:32Speaker 4: don't listen to our like regular podcast on Thursdays, I
- 13:36Speaker 4: highly suggest you do, because Meg and I just talked
- 13:38Speaker 4: about this same topic Burn and Ceedy burning Cds'. It's
- 13:44Speaker 4: a funny lesson. I think I think you guys will enjoy.
- 13:47Speaker 4: It's on Thursday's Long Story Short with Megan Wendy.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so we cut to Kat and Elliott.
- 13:51Speaker 3: They're on their little mini road trip singing along to
- 13:54Speaker 3: Sister Hazel's All for You, which is a great song.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I had to look it up. I remember the song.
- 13:59Speaker 4: I didn't know who sang it, and I was like,
- 14:01Speaker 4: is this a one hit wonder? Like I don't remember
- 14:03Speaker 4: anything else by this, Yeah, I think so.
- 14:05Speaker 3: From nineteen ninety four, let me just say about this
- 14:08Speaker 3: scene as a person who is taking notes on the show,
- 14:14Speaker 3: this show is fast and furious. There's constantly something happening.
- 14:18Speaker 3: There's constant dialogue. The scenes are very short and they jump.
- 14:25Speaker 3: This scene here was a real outlier to me because
- 14:28Speaker 3: it's like sixty to ninety seconds of them just singing
- 14:33Speaker 3: and being yeah, and it was really fun to watch.
- 14:37Speaker 4: Did you notice the horrible green screen?
- 14:40Speaker 3: I honestly wasn't paying attention because I was watching their faces.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And then there's like a moment towards the end where
- 14:45Speaker 3: they kind of steal glanceshe.
- 14:48Speaker 4: It made me long for singing in my car because
- 14:50Speaker 4: my fifteen year old doesn't allow it.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I have had both of my children say and I said,
- 14:58Speaker 3: excuse me, would you like to get where you are going?
- 15:01Speaker 3: That is the cost I mean of the ride.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I really want somebody in my passenger seat to sing
- 15:08Speaker 4: a duet with me. I think that's what's fun about
- 15:11Speaker 4: being in the car Goodness. After they're a finished singing,
- 15:17Speaker 4: they pull up to a like old motel. It's real
- 15:24Speaker 4: baits Motelli. Yeah, it looks like it's abandoned. There's just
- 15:27Speaker 4: like stuff everywhere, and Kat looks disappointed. And I didn't
- 15:31Speaker 4: understand the disappointment on Kat's face. In the moment, I thought, oh,
- 15:34Speaker 4: she was disappointed that that's where the address led them
- 15:38Speaker 4: to until we come back from commercial, and Elliott tells
- 15:42Speaker 4: Kat not to read into what the motel might mean.
- 15:45Speaker 4: And then I was like, oh, it was Colton having
- 15:47Speaker 4: an affair.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Yeah, he says he was a good man. And then
- 15:51Speaker 3: we even see the hourly rates sign.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Hey a motel. Yeah.
- 15:56Speaker 4: She wants to press on and like look for a
- 15:59Speaker 4: clue to the note, but Elliet is like, there's nothing.
- 16:04Speaker 3: To find heres abandoned, and we cut to Byron and
- 16:06Speaker 3: Dell packing up Dell's pottery for her exhibition, and Byron
- 16:13Speaker 3: is telling her that he's stressed about a Harold deadline
- 16:15Speaker 3: and he therefore can't help her set up for the exhibit,
- 16:18Speaker 3: and Dell reminds him that she's a strong, independent woman
- 16:21Speaker 3: and she can do it on her own. But Byron's
- 16:24Speaker 3: fishing here. He wants to know if she's talked to Cat.
- 16:27Speaker 3: He wants to know how much she knows. It's clear
- 16:30Speaker 3: here that Dell does not yet know that Cat has
- 16:32Speaker 3: been fired. Spencer arrives asked to go see Alice, and
- 16:36Speaker 3: Delle sends him upstairs.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Yeah, he comes. He knocks on Alice's door and she's
- 16:42Speaker 4: quite mortified that Spencer is now standing at her bedroom
- 16:46Speaker 4: door and she's in bed, in her pajamas, not put
- 16:50Speaker 4: together to see a boy of her own age. And
- 16:53Speaker 4: he's like, oh, you know, Delle said it was cool. Now,
- 16:58Speaker 4: can I just say something here in this moment. I
- 17:00Speaker 4: know we don't do a digit see that with these episodes,
- 17:05Speaker 4: but I had a clear digit see that in this moment.
- 17:08Speaker 4: One scene, Spencer comes in, she's in bed, the bed
- 17:12Speaker 4: sheets are like pulled back. The next scene the bed
- 17:15Speaker 4: is made and she's sitting on it, but she's still
- 17:17Speaker 4: in pajamas. It's just one of those continuity things. Yeah,
- 17:21Speaker 4: caught my eye. Anyway, I believe Spencer's over there because
- 17:24Speaker 4: he's like dropping off homework.
- 17:26Speaker 1: For her, the biggest stock of notes I've ever seen.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Yeah, nice guy. He sits on his bed and he
- 17:30Speaker 4: tells her like he's clad. She's feeling better. And Alice
- 17:33Speaker 4: confesses to Spencer that she's been having some hard days
- 17:36Speaker 4: and he wants to take her to dinner and she
- 17:39Speaker 4: says yes.
- 17:40Speaker 3: So in my notes, I wrote, is this the behavior
- 17:42Speaker 3: of friends? Or was Wendy wright that Alice has lied
- 17:46Speaker 3: to her mother about Spencer having a girlfriend.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. It's still very unclear because later
- 17:52Speaker 4: spoiler alert, when they're at dinner, she says, where's Zoe.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so this.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Feels very date like to me. I think her too, dinner,
- 18:00Speaker 3: I agree to. Kat approaches Dell in her studio.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Delle's just making small talk. How was your day?
- 18:06Speaker 3: I gather you're buried in Harold deadlines and Cat's like, nah,
- 18:08Speaker 3: I got the week off. Works light over there, And
- 18:11Speaker 3: so now we have a contradiction between what Cat is
- 18:14Speaker 3: saying and what Byron is saying. Cat really wants Dell
- 18:17Speaker 3: to talk about this note and insists that Dell is
- 18:20Speaker 3: shutting her out, just like Dell and Colton did when
- 18:23Speaker 3: Jacob went missing. Dell plays dumb here, and Kat says
- 18:28Speaker 3: their life changed, as did her relationship with Dell after
- 18:31Speaker 3: Jacob went missing.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Dell is blaming Kat.
- 18:34Speaker 3: She's like, you ran off, you left with Brady, But
- 18:36Speaker 3: Kat says, I left with Brady because of the change,
- 18:39Speaker 3: like our family changed and you I nothing was ever
- 18:43Speaker 3: the same.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Yeah. It's kind of weird how they went to like
- 18:47Speaker 4: zero to one hundred in this scene, because I feel
- 18:51Speaker 4: like these are things that have not been talked about
- 18:53Speaker 4: for the last six episodes, right, so now it's like
- 18:57Speaker 4: this weird one off conversation. Obviously wants to know more
- 19:02Speaker 4: information about the note and is pressing Dell for more information,
- 19:06Speaker 4: and now she just goes in on her and says, like,
- 19:10Speaker 4: you're shutting me out like you did when I was
- 19:11Speaker 4: a teenager.
- 19:12Speaker 3: But yeah, this seems to be the heart of the
- 19:16Speaker 3: breakdown between Cat and Dell that we're finally getting to.
- 19:21Speaker 3: And to me, it seems like Kat not only lost
- 19:24Speaker 3: her brother but lost her parents.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Right in that moment.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Right the next thing, we are at the point in
- 19:30Speaker 4: Spencer and Alice are having dinner and appears Spencer's made
- 19:34Speaker 4: dinner for her, and Alice asks here where Zoe is
- 19:38Speaker 4: and Alice and Spencer have like a nice talk about
- 19:42Speaker 4: the future. It's a real nice like, oh, here here, Alice,
- 19:46Speaker 4: here's some friends in present day for you, you know she
- 19:49Speaker 4: needs like, yeah, she needs somebody in present day.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yeah. And he's kind of fishing for information like do
- 19:56Speaker 3: you see your future in poor day?
- 19:58Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 19:58Speaker 3: And I gotta tell you this feels good day to me.
- 20:00Speaker 3: They're alone in a dark restaurant.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:03Speaker 4: It's funny, like we never knew Spencer like had aspirations
- 20:06Speaker 4: to be a.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Chef shouting things about many of our characters. Yes, back home,
- 20:11Speaker 3: Cat's in the kitchen waiting up for Alice, and Alice
- 20:14Speaker 3: returns home, and she appears to have softened a little bit.
- 20:17Speaker 3: She talks about her dinner with Spencer and apologizes for
- 20:21Speaker 3: not being able to save Jacob. And that's a heavyweight
- 20:24Speaker 3: for this fifteen year old, the second fifteen year old
- 20:26Speaker 3: to have to carry around. And Kat is lovely and
- 20:31Speaker 3: tells her, of course, it's not her fault, and they
- 20:33Speaker 3: talk through Kat's experience in the past. Alice is glad
- 20:37Speaker 3: she got the chance to get to know Jacob. Kat
- 20:40Speaker 3: is telling Alice here they're having a real like less
- 20:43Speaker 3: mother daughter and more friend to friend conversation. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 3: Cat's telling Alice how much she needed from her parents,
- 20:48Speaker 3: how hard it was on her losing him, and how
- 20:52Speaker 3: she felt that they blamed her. And this is when
- 20:54Speaker 3: Alice realizes that she needs to go back, she needs
- 20:57Speaker 3: to be there for her.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Friend or her mom.
- 21:01Speaker 3: And I believe this is the moment where she says, Mom,
- 21:04Speaker 3: we were best friends.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that was good.
- 21:06Speaker 1: That's great, it was really good.
- 21:08Speaker 4: So it's so kind of it's one of those scenes
- 21:11Speaker 4: again where I'm like, I having my having a hard
- 21:14Speaker 4: time like understanding, but like Alice wants to go back
- 21:16Speaker 4: to console her mom as a teenager because her mom
- 21:20Speaker 4: had no one as a teenager.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You know, Kat has talked.
- 21:23Speaker 3: About this before about how her memories of Alice are
- 21:27Speaker 3: kind of hazy, like she just remembers her as a
- 21:29Speaker 3: presence and less the specifics, right, But it's interesting to
- 21:34Speaker 3: me that Kat doesn't appear to have any memory of
- 21:37Speaker 3: Alice's role in this time.
- 21:39Speaker 1: After Jacob was.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Gone, snow has covered the ground and Alice realizes she's
- 21:46Speaker 4: it's been a while since she's been last back in
- 21:49Speaker 4: nineteen ninety nine. She finds the backpack that Elliott leaves
- 21:53Speaker 4: for her, and there's a note that says where are
- 21:55Speaker 4: you and it's signed from Elliott. Al shows up at
- 21:58Speaker 4: Kat's house and Dellan Colton are arguing it's New Year's
- 22:04Speaker 4: Eve and Delle's begging Colton like not to go somewhere.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Alice knocks on the door into Cat's room and Cat's
- 22:11Speaker 4: really happy to see her. And here we learn Cat
- 22:15Speaker 4: is getting ready to go out to celebrate why.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Two K, Why two K?
- 22:20Speaker 4: Why two K? The craziness that was.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Why two K.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm glad we got a Y two K New
- 22:28Speaker 3: Year's episode in this nineteen ninety nine setting.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Here's where I get worried at. Now though, are we
- 22:34Speaker 4: going to be popping into the year two thousand now?
- 22:37Speaker 4: Are they going to be diving back into the pond
- 22:40Speaker 4: and going to not ninety nine anymore?
- 22:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:44Speaker 4: And that's just going to really throw off our notice
- 22:46Speaker 4: in the nineties, isn't it.
- 22:47Speaker 3: This is true observed in the US. So we cut
- 22:52Speaker 3: to Monica's party and Body Rock by Moby, which was
- 22:55Speaker 3: released in.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety nine, is playing.
- 22:57Speaker 3: There's lots of bucket hats, the fashion is real bad.
- 23:02Speaker 3: There are lots of two thousand glasses, and we've got
- 23:07Speaker 3: to countdown to the millennium clock going, And for a
- 23:12Speaker 3: brief moment, Monica and Kat appear to actually be friends.
- 23:14Speaker 3: We hadn't seen much of them being kind to each
- 23:18Speaker 3: other in the past. They were kind of frenemies, it
- 23:21Speaker 3: seemed like. But Monica's really giving me a dion from
- 23:24Speaker 3: clueless vibe or in this moment, and they've got things
- 23:27Speaker 3: like there's a guessing board for what's actually going to
- 23:30Speaker 3: happen on Midnight and what's funny is Monica's shouts. Spilsky
- 23:34Speaker 3: watched the carpet and we know that that will be here.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Oh, I totally missed it. Oh that's funny. But did
- 23:40Speaker 4: they show who he was at all?
- 23:43Speaker 3: Off to the side, We don't get a close up him.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Oh, too funny, I completely miss that.
- 23:48Speaker 3: That's really funny.
- 23:50Speaker 4: So Alice, she sees Elliott at the party, which makes
- 23:52Speaker 4: me wonder would Elliott actually be at this party?
- 23:56Speaker 1: And as a lot of.
- 23:57Speaker 4: People there's a lot of people there and Elliott, Alice
- 24:00Speaker 4: at the cops had called off this search for Jacob
- 24:05Speaker 4: the day before.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Yeah, what's funny to me here is Alice is like,
- 24:09Speaker 3: I lost two months and like he knows he's been here.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Yeah, right, but.
- 24:14Speaker 3: He also feels like he has lost Cat. He says,
- 24:17Speaker 3: she's either talking to Brady or she's with Brady. She's
- 24:21Speaker 3: pulled away and she's leaned in to where she's getting
- 24:24Speaker 3: the support she feels like she needs.
- 24:26Speaker 4: And then Nick shows up.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick shows up.
- 24:30Speaker 3: He's got his two thousand glasses on, and we cut
- 24:33Speaker 3: back to present day. We've got soft piano music playing
- 24:38Speaker 3: at the pottery exhibition. Monica's messing with Spencer's food, all
- 24:43Speaker 3: the all the Port Haven adults are there, Cat and
- 24:45Speaker 3: Elliott's there, Rita's there, and Elliott asks if there's been
- 24:51Speaker 3: any progress with Dout and Kat and the answer is
- 24:55Speaker 3: still know. We get a little bit of a speech
- 24:58Speaker 3: letting us know what the heck is happening this exhibition
- 25:00Speaker 3: I've been planning this entire time. Monica is now going
- 25:02Speaker 3: to be highlighting local artisans and Dell is the kickoffs,
- 25:06Speaker 3: which is good because I'm not super excited about an
- 25:08Speaker 3: exhibit with Rita's leg this way to the beach wooden sign.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Oh you're not. I'm sure we won't see that.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Dell graciously thinks Monica. Yeah, we're gonna be one and
- 25:18Speaker 3: done on the local artisans as we are. Yeah, Dell
- 25:22Speaker 3: graciously thinks Monica and everyone for attending, And she makes
- 25:25Speaker 3: some light jokes about the solitary nature of pottery, but
- 25:29Speaker 3: she's seeing the need for company and collaboration.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Well, this is so funny, because are we to believe
- 25:37Speaker 4: that Dell was not an active member of the community
- 25:41Speaker 4: in the years since losing Jacob. It does not read
- 25:45Speaker 4: that way to me, but her speech about needing company
- 25:50Speaker 4: and collaboration or valuing that now is weird. It's not
- 25:58Speaker 4: like she's like some hermit that's been living on at
- 26:00Speaker 4: the Landry Farm for the last twenty years.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Thirty years. Yeah, that's a good question.
- 26:06Speaker 1: How involved? How she meant?
- 26:07Speaker 3: You know, this is kind of like there was no
- 26:09Speaker 3: carnival for thirty years. Yeah, exactly, situation like time kind
- 26:12Speaker 3: of stood still.
- 26:14Speaker 4: And may I ask, is Monica the only person trying
- 26:16Speaker 4: to save this town? She wants she runs the lops
- 26:21Speaker 4: surfacet the carnival. She's now she's doing local artists.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Is Monica the mayor?
- 26:28Speaker 4: So we cut back to nineteen ninety nine at the
- 26:30Speaker 4: New Year's Eve party and Kat and Elliott are dancing
- 26:33Speaker 4: awkwardly and singing to their sister Hazel song that they
- 26:36Speaker 4: were singing to earlier. She's dancing, he watches. It's almost midnight.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Nick pulls Alice into the garage to talk, and I
- 26:44Speaker 4: was like, whoaa.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Where's this going?
- 26:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he says he's mister. She's kind of surprised that
- 26:50Speaker 4: he's mister, and he wants to make it official like
- 26:53Speaker 4: a boyfriend girlfriend thing, and in hopes that she will
- 26:59Speaker 4: come to port He and more and visit, like if
- 27:02Speaker 4: it's official.
- 27:04Speaker 1: She will go.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Missing for two months at a time, like you know,
- 27:07Speaker 4: because they're not allowed to date. He gives her a
- 27:10Speaker 4: fish hook because she has hooked him and I was like,
- 27:14Speaker 4: it'll bely fifteen. And he also asks for help with
- 27:18Speaker 4: something some hygiinks.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 1: We cut back to.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Kat continuing to dance. Elliott watching Cat is a little
- 27:24Speaker 3: bit manic.
- 27:25Speaker 1: At this point, I wrote.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Cat getting turned because I thought she was drinking. But
- 27:30Speaker 4: then I.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Realized, like, we're gearing up.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Elliott starts to look for Alice because he's clearly worried
- 27:36Speaker 3: about Cat. In this moment, this is no longer they're cute,
- 27:38Speaker 3: light hearted dancing together, and we cut back.
- 27:41Speaker 1: To Nick, who's plotting a prank for midnight.
- 27:45Speaker 3: We cut back to the countdown, where we see the
- 27:47Speaker 3: beginnings of a panic attack. Back to the garage, Nick
- 27:51Speaker 3: cuts the lights, and the juxtaposition of these two scenes
- 27:54Speaker 3: where Nick and Alice are just kind of having some
- 27:56Speaker 3: lighthearted no big deal y two k fun and Cat
- 28:00Speaker 3: breaking down is real interesting editing. Here, he and Alice
- 28:04Speaker 3: have a light moment, they kiss, then they're screaming from
- 28:07Speaker 3: the party and not in a fun way, and Elliott
- 28:10Speaker 3: is calling for Alice.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Right breaks to a commercial. We come back. Cat is
- 28:14Speaker 4: on the floor. She is clearly having a panic attack.
- 28:18Speaker 4: Elliott is trying to help her, and Monica says, off
- 28:21Speaker 4: to the side, she just wants attention. Alice helps Cat
- 28:26Speaker 4: through the panic attack, attack, helps her breathe it through.
- 28:29Speaker 4: I think she even says something like my mom has
- 28:31Speaker 4: these Yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 3: What I thought was interesting is she goes she's having
- 28:35Speaker 3: a panic attack, and Elliott goes, oh what, because in
- 28:38Speaker 3: the nineteen ninety nine vernacular, I don't think anxiety and
- 28:41Speaker 3: panic attack was something that we were talking about.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Probably not now.
- 28:47Speaker 3: To me, it was very obvious what.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Was happening, Yeah, scream, Yeah, well sort of. I mean
- 28:51Speaker 4: I thought she was getting drunk earlier, but yeah she was.
- 28:53Speaker 3: But at this point it's pretty clear, yes exactly.
- 28:58Speaker 4: We hear Kat saying the search is where he's gone.
- 29:00Speaker 4: He's just gone, and tells Alice that she had wished
- 29:04Speaker 4: she had been there, and she also goes on to
- 29:07Speaker 4: say that her parents don't talk to her and that
- 29:09Speaker 4: they hate her and they blame her for Jacob being gone,
- 29:13Speaker 4: and Alice consoles her. And this is a really sad
- 29:17Speaker 4: moment to me because Kat says that she wishes the
- 29:20Speaker 4: world was actually ending and I can't keep hurting like that. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 4: she was hurting so much. I was so sad because
- 29:28Speaker 4: those are interesting feelings for a teenager to navigate.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Well, Dylan Colton are really failing her because yes, their
- 29:39Speaker 3: child is missing, but they are now ruining the life
- 29:43Speaker 3: of their other child.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Right by not showing up for her, right, I mean that's.
- 29:47Speaker 4: Hard, Like, I don't I haven't ever had to deal
- 29:51Speaker 4: with grief at that kind of level, so I don't.
- 29:54Speaker 4: I probably there's probably no handbook on how to know.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I mean, this is the case.
- 30:01Speaker 1: This family needed therapy.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but I also feel like at some point the
- 30:05Speaker 3: adults need to step up and be adults, Like you
- 30:07Speaker 3: have another child and.
- 30:09Speaker 1: You are failing her at this moment.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:11Speaker 1: We cut back to present day.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Elliott and Kat are walking on the water and making
- 30:14Speaker 3: it it's a beautiful night for pottery, silly jokes, and
- 30:18Speaker 3: Kat saying she doesn't remember the last time she saw
- 30:21Speaker 3: her mom so happy, and then we just caught right
- 30:25Speaker 3: to it. Kat stops Elliott, and there's something in this
- 30:27Speaker 3: scene that I almost feel like it's like a dream.
- 30:32Speaker 3: She says, there's something happening here, isn't there? And Elliott
- 30:35Speaker 3: takes off his glasses and says, I've been waiting a
- 30:38Speaker 3: long time to kiss you. And then he says, and
- 30:41Speaker 3: when I do, it's gonna be perfect, and off he walks.
- 30:44Speaker 3: And in this moment, I love Elliott so much because
- 30:47Speaker 3: Kat hath made him wait so long that not giving
- 30:50Speaker 3: her what she yah and the very moment she decides
- 30:54Speaker 3: she wants it is such a great move.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, but hello, Cat, Yes, something's happening here,
- 31:03Speaker 4: like didn't What about at the school dance two weeks ago?
- 31:06Speaker 4: There was something happening there and then you had to
- 31:08Speaker 4: ruin it.
- 31:09Speaker 1: With Brady again. Yeah?
- 31:11Speaker 4: So yeah, I was glad that Elliott like held her
- 31:16Speaker 4: off a little bit. Back to nineteen ninety nine, catund
- 31:20Speaker 4: Alice arrived home from the party. Colton tells Kat to
- 31:23Speaker 4: go upstairs. Quietly, he asked Alice why she's not spending
- 31:25Speaker 4: the night. They have some small talk and he asks
- 31:28Speaker 4: about her playing the guitar and her mom and I,
- 31:34Speaker 4: you know, when you just about get ready to cry,
- 31:36Speaker 4: your nose gets all tingly. I had this moment while
- 31:39Speaker 4: watching this scene because he thanks Alice for being there
- 31:44Speaker 4: for Cat. He says something like, thanks for being there
- 31:47Speaker 4: for our girl, and I just was like, I was
- 31:51Speaker 4: so sweet.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I had actual tears and did you Oh yeah, yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 3: that was a real moment. He knows, he knows he's
- 32:02Speaker 3: always been the softer one of the two parents, and
- 32:05Speaker 3: I think he knows that they don't have it to
- 32:09Speaker 3: be there for her.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Here's the question, why didn't Alice just stay that night
- 32:14Speaker 4: because Kat knows where she's at. With the exception of
- 32:18Speaker 4: Dell would be like, oh, Alice doesn't come home, but
- 32:20Speaker 4: then like.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Kat could cover for her.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I don't know, Like why can't there's no urgency now
- 32:25Speaker 4: to like get back to present day.
- 32:28Speaker 3: No, with the exception of, they needed a reason for
- 32:30Speaker 3: her to have this conversation with callt him agree. Back
- 32:33Speaker 3: at the pottery exhibition, Dell is finally coming to the
- 32:38Speaker 3: realization that something's up and she can't figure out why
- 32:41Speaker 3: Byron's busy if Kat isn't working, And Cat comes clean
- 32:45Speaker 3: and takes responsibility, and she says she does what landry
- 32:48Speaker 3: women do. They throw themselves into a project. And Delle says, no, no,
- 32:53Speaker 3: that's not what I was doing. I was making ends meet.
- 32:56Speaker 3: There was no money left after your father died. So
- 32:59Speaker 3: I wasn't getting into honey to keep my hands busy.
- 33:03Speaker 3: I was getting into honey to pay the bills. Cat
- 33:07Speaker 3: asks what he spent their money on, and Delle says,
- 33:09Speaker 3: on what men spend money on and don't tell their wives.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Yaike sees I have a theory about that. We'll talk
- 33:16Speaker 4: about it later. We have a flashback where Dell finds
- 33:19Speaker 4: Colton on the phone with someone and she confronts him
- 33:22Speaker 4: and tells him she's missing him, and Colton is upset
- 33:26Speaker 4: and tells her that he feels like he's the only
- 33:28Speaker 4: one who's forgotten Jacob. They exchange words, and it's New
- 33:32Speaker 4: Year's Eve and Delle wants Colton to go somewhere with her,
- 33:34Speaker 4: but he refuses, and then what Then they're back at
- 33:37Speaker 4: the exhibition, and then there's another flashback.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yes, Delle's putting on her coat and when she steps outside,
- 33:45Speaker 3: she has this flashback of the two of them sitting
- 33:48Speaker 3: in their living room. The ball is dropping, They're not
- 33:51Speaker 3: speaking to each other. Colton's drinking a beer, Dell's watching Colton.
- 33:54Speaker 3: It's this very uncomfortable, cold.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Awful right moment, and such a difference from like how
- 34:02Speaker 4: they were prior to Jacob's disappearance.
- 34:07Speaker 3: And back in present day, Dell seems to have a
- 34:08Speaker 3: bit of an epiphany.
- 34:11Speaker 1: It takes off for the Herald.
- 34:12Speaker 4: We come back from commercial and Dell is at Byron's
- 34:15Speaker 4: office and she asks, hey, like, why weren't you at
- 34:18Speaker 4: the exhibition? And she asks about firing cat. Byron had
- 34:24Speaker 4: some sort of accident at the paper. I was like,
- 34:27Speaker 4: are they setting this up somehow? Like did that shall
- 34:30Speaker 4: fall on him? And now they're going to find some
- 34:31Speaker 4: clue behind the shop, Like my ears are perked up
- 34:36Speaker 4: for every single little thing now at this point. But
- 34:39Speaker 4: it looks like he was spending his time. He was
- 34:41Speaker 4: working on an article called the Metriarch of Port Haven
- 34:44Speaker 4: and it's a future article with Dell and her students
- 34:51Speaker 4: on the farm.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Got back to home, Alice is getting ready for bed
- 34:55Speaker 3: and Dell has left her one of her little trinket
- 34:57Speaker 3: bolls on her nightstand and she has a flashback of Colton,
- 35:02Speaker 3: just the line saying, are you still playing guitar? And
- 35:05Speaker 3: I don't really know what's going on here.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Oh, because I think in the trinket bowl it has
- 35:09Speaker 4: the fish and it's the same fish that's on the guitar.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Oh okay, I don't know.
- 35:15Speaker 4: What the role Wanz is of Colton with the voice
- 35:18Speaker 4: over asking her if she plays the guitar, and then
- 35:20Speaker 4: other than that's his guitar, but whatever, I don't know.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that makes sense.
- 35:24Speaker 4: Kat is looking at the mystery note. She looking at
- 35:29Speaker 4: at herself in a mirror.
- 35:30Speaker 3: She's like taking off her jewelry. It's kind of mirroring
- 35:34Speaker 3: what's happening with Alice. She looks again at the note
- 35:37Speaker 3: and then off she goes hustling through the woods to
- 35:40Speaker 3: the pond, and.
- 35:41Speaker 4: It's just standing on that rock considering jumping in. And
- 35:44Speaker 4: that's the end of the episode.
- 35:45Speaker 3: So Dell in this episode alludes to there being another woman.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yes, Wendy has a theory.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I have a theory.
- 35:52Speaker 4: I think that Cat is the other woman. Adult Cat
- 35:58Speaker 4: is the other woman.
- 35:59Speaker 1: So she back.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Maybe she's trying to help Colton somehow, or find out
- 36:04Speaker 4: what Colton's doing, or I don't know, they befriend each other.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Yeah, she's using the information that she has in some.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Way, either to help find Jacob or I don't know,
- 36:16Speaker 4: but I think that's who Colton is spending his time with.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's a great theory. With only three
- 36:22Speaker 3: episodes left, I do have to say I'm very pleased
- 36:24Speaker 3: at the pacing of these episodes.
- 36:26Speaker 1: They get through a lot.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Just I'm getting so nervous for what about how much
- 36:31Speaker 3: information we're going to be left wondering about at the
- 36:33Speaker 3: end of the seaming.
- 36:34Speaker 1: So I think a lot.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Actually, it's got to be like, are they gonna leave
- 36:37Speaker 4: us with a cliffhanger?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Well, see that's the question, right.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Did they write it so that it's open to a
- 36:43Speaker 3: second season but still wrapped up enough to be satisfactory to.
- 36:47Speaker 1: The first season. Yeah, I don't know.
- 36:49Speaker 3: So there's a lot that I'm waiting on.
- 36:52Speaker 4: I want to share a message that we got on
- 36:55Speaker 4: our Instagram. Okay, it is from user shell Art. It says, hello, ladies,
- 37:02Speaker 4: I've been enjoying your podcast. On the way home. I
- 37:04Speaker 4: was fourteen and nineteen ninety nine, so this show really
- 37:07Speaker 4: makes me feel old. So I know I am laughing
- 37:10Speaker 4: because I was a lot older than that in nineteen
- 37:12Speaker 4: ninety nine.
- 37:13Speaker 1: With twenty one.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Thing that I think no one picked up on is
- 37:17Speaker 4: the fact that Kyler Lee played Jane in not another
- 37:21Speaker 4: teen movie, the movie that is a parody of she's
- 37:24Speaker 4: all that and she walks down the stairs and instead
- 37:27Speaker 4: falls and the stairs break.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Oh nice.
- 37:31Speaker 4: So Kyler Lee played that character.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Twice.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Isn't that funny? I was like, that's amazing catch.
- 37:41Speaker 3: We really needed someone who was fourteen and nineteen ninety
- 37:43Speaker 3: nine for that moment.
- 37:44Speaker 4: I mean, I think I saw that movie in the
- 37:45Speaker 4: movie theater, but I don't remember who.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Actually, Well, thank you for that.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Yeah, awesome, Right, Who's our homie of the week.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I think it's an easy choice.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Who is it.
- 37:56Speaker 3: It's Elliott for his slick moves.
- 38:00Speaker 4: For that swoony moment down by the water.
- 38:03Speaker 3: Also, I really liked when he's like taking off his
- 38:05Speaker 3: glasses in the car and they're singing.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Yeah. I like it too, Like he's I know, he's
- 38:10Speaker 4: kind of like this, like stereotypical, Like I was kind
- 38:13Speaker 4: of nerdy in high school and now I'm like a
- 38:16Speaker 4: science tutor at school or whatever. But like, I like
- 38:20Speaker 4: these like vibes he's giving off me too. Yeah, much
- 38:25Speaker 4: more than Brady.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Thank you for listening to this recap of the Way Home.
- 38:29Speaker 3: We'll be back next week with episode eight as well.
- 38:33Speaker 3: We are back to our full and regular schedule, so
- 38:36Speaker 3: we are putting out Hallmark movie reviews. Don't miss our
- 38:39Speaker 3: review from yesterday of The Love Club Nicole's Penpal, and.
