- PlayBetter: The launch monitor market in 2026 is almost unrecognizable from what it was five years ago. The accuracy gap between a $1,000 device and a $20,000 one has basically collapsed. Overhead systems are taking over basement sim rooms. The software choices have multiplied, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, the average golfer is trying to decide what to actually buy. Jock Bufton has been living in that world since 2020. 374 videos, 80,000 subscribers, 62 million views on golf busters, built on one mission. Help the weekend warrior make sense of all of it. Today, he's joining us to do exactly that. Mark Shaforgian here, alongside Daniel Fitzpatrick, this is Golf Tech Weekly presented by PlayBetter. Jock, welcome to the show. Guys, thank you for having me on. Yes. Well, ⁓ tell us ⁓ tell us a bit about your journey here before we get into the gear. ⁓ been at it since 2020. sixty million plus views in. Did you ever envision this when you when you started making videos? Yeah. ⁓ I don't know. So I I would say so. It's funny you say twenty twenty. So it was actually the channel was originally a Fortnite channel for two years. So So I would say I think I think the first video was like twenty twenty two or twenty twenty three. I'd have to I'd have to look into that. But yeah, I was I was basically a teacher and I loved teaching. And then my last year of teaching, the principal that we we kind of all loved at the school, he took a superintendent job. We hired basically ⁓ one second here, sorry. We hired ⁓ s just honestly like the world's worst boss as a teacher that you could have. And I was like, All right, it might be time to get out of teaching. Like I'm not making any money. And so basically what happened is I taught one more year at a different school and I would just I was like, you know what? I love making videos. I got I kind of just got into golf. I was like, you what, I think I can make some good golf videos. So I would just basically work from when the wife and kids went to bed till two AM almost every single night, ⁓ making videos until we got to the point that we, you know, I saved up basically almost a year's worth of my teaching salary and then I quit my job. And then about a year, year and a half later, my brother in law Ryan, who was in a bunch of our videos, he joined on the channel as well. And now we've kind of, I would say, slowly progressed to like a lot of golf simulator content to like we're kind of slowly progressing to more like entertainment based, but almost all those entertainment based videos are using golf simulators as opposed to like, you know, when it started out, it was almost exclusively like golf simulator reviews, building golf simulator stuff, and now You know, it's probably thirty percent of the year we'll focus on that. And the other seventy is kind of more on like the entertainment side of the golf industry using those golf simulator devices. Yeah, that's awesome. I mean, for those who haven't watched ⁓ any of these videos, ⁓ you guys do keep it very ⁓ entertainment oriented, even when you're reviewing products, ⁓ very ⁓ very community based. ⁓ you've got a ⁓ whole whole roster of of buddies that that chime in on your videos and you guys all have kind of these fun ultra ego ⁓ nicknames and and so on and so forth. So it's it's a it's a lot of fun. Kind of takes the ⁓ the dryness out of ⁓ reviewing tech products, which I think ⁓ I think your audience likely appreciates. ⁓ Daniel, you've known Jack since going back to your flight scope days. ⁓ you wanna you wanna chime in with a quick word before we get into some gear? Yeah, I mean it's ⁓ it's awesome to always see the different type of content you guys keep keep coming up with. ⁓ you know, I'm getting addicted to the you know the the challenges you and Ryan are doing right now with ⁓ with playing aggressive, ⁓ not losing a golf ball, the the three putt challenge. So some of that stuff is really, really ⁓ fun to follow along and see how you guys progress. And it's nice to see your guys' golf game improve too, 'cause I know Ryan was n has not played golf for a while. ⁓ very long, I mean. And and I know your golf game has gotten better. So I think that's kind of the cool part in all of this is like you guys are both getting better at golf. And I'm sure this doesn't really feel like work anymore because I know, I mean, my wife's a teacher. I know how how stressful and how long the year can get at times and and now you kinda get a ⁓ you know, do something that it it seems like you guys really like to do. Yeah, I think we we have such a good job and we're so thankful for what we do. I think it is different than the majority of people think. I think most people think that we're out playing golf, you know, four to five days a week, but in reality it's probably eighty percent of the time. spent editing videos, which like I I love to do. So like I like I said, I love kind of every aspect of the job. And I would say like our schedule is probably like throughout the year, like, you know, four days a week we're editing and then one day a week we might be filming. So and then summers we're probably a little more in the summers being in Michigan. We're probably filming, you know, maybe two days a week in the summer. But that's probably what it averages out to, I would say. So yeah, very, very thankful for the job. I'd say I I am I Wake up every day excited to work, which is, you know, I think that is not everyone can say that. So I'm very thankful for what we do. That's right. That's right. And congratulations on your success. ⁓ living in Michigan, ⁓ this couldn't have been a better time in in the world's history for for this to arrive to you, all of this ⁓ amazing technology that's available for indoor golf. You built a build a beautiful studio ⁓ right there in your home and qualifies you to talk about exactly what we want to get into today, which is specifically launch monitors. ⁓ we've broken this down into a handful of different categories. And and Jock, what I think we'd like to do here is rifle through some of them. We'll tell you the category. You hit us with ⁓ with a winner. no waffling, please. We want some winners. if you do have a ⁓ a a runner up or any follow-ups you wanna you want to ⁓ add on to Feel free, but ⁓ but we'd like ⁓ to hear what you think are some of your favorites or your definitive favorite in each of these categories. ⁓ so let's start with ⁓ best photometric launch monitors under ten thousand dollars. so for those listening, ⁓ photometric meaning a camera based unit, this is a device that sits on the floor to the side of the golf ball. ⁓ Advantages include ⁓ space saving opportunities in an indoor environment where you may not have as much room depth. The photometric launch monitor doesn't require as much space ⁓ be behind the golf ball as a radar unit would. ⁓ disadvantages include oftentimes affordability. This is this is most often where we get away from that ⁓ sub $1,000 ⁓ category with ⁓ with one notable exception. And ⁓ also the righty lefty thing. Jock, you're a lefty. ⁓ and so you gotta do the righty-lefty dance when you have a ⁓ a camera-based unit sitting on the floor. When you want to switch between a right-hander and a left-hander, you gotta move the device. ⁓ Jock, I know you've got a couple of workarounds there that makes that a little bit more seamless. ⁓ so all that said, under 10 grand in the camera-based or photometric floor standing units, what do you like? Yeah, so we kinda we actually have a document where we Given a device grade out of 10 to almost every device. There's a few we haven't tested, one of them being the new SquareGolf Omni. I just got it the other week, but we've been haven't got around to testing it yet. That being said, right now I have ⁓ my number one ranked under 10 that sits on the floor. I have the Garmin R50 at a 9.59. And then not far behind, I have the kind of the Foresight, kind of the Bushnell, kind of that realm of like Like it's all the same thing, but they got four different versions. I can't I have the Foresight GC three S or or the Bushnell ⁓ Circle B at a nine point five seven. I would say differentiating between those two features that come with the R50 are much better than kind of that. We'll stick with the name of the Foresight GC G C three S better than that. ⁓ but I I like the ball data accuracy overall a little bit better on the Foresight GC3S. So those two Kind of tied for that number one spot, I would say. And then kind of the big downside for me on the Foresight product besides the features is the fact that their subscription fees are just so high. So if they didn't have those subscription fees, that you know, it'd be a different ⁓ it'd be I think it'd be ⁓ a lot a lot more people would probably consider those products than they currently do. So Yeah. I mean two awesome, awesome products or just as you said, the G C three slash launch pro slash LPI. whatever you want to call it, ⁓ fantastic, fantastic runner up. And I'd say your scoring there is is fairly spot on. You know, I mean ⁓ the R50 does things that no other device we've ever seen can do. ⁓ so hard to argue against that being the overall winner. Hard also to argue against the Launch Pro slash GC3 being nipping right at its heels. Other incredible products in that same category would include the Skytrack Plus, the ST Max. The Unicore I Mini and I Mini Lite. i i it's ⁓ it's a good time to be ⁓ interested in a photometric golf launch monitor. Daniel, you think you nailed it? Yeah, totally. ⁓ I mean the R fifty's been crazy popular, like you said, Mark. I mean, no no PC required. Everything's right there, self sufficient in the unit. ⁓ if you want to go to like G S Pro, sure you just grab a gaming PC and it's a pretty seamless hookup. ⁓ You know, if you wanted to go that route, where as like the foresight systems, you know, you you gotta pay kind of a pretty penny on a lot of their devices to get into that type of software and that if that's what you want to play, which for most sim users right now, that's that's the software people want to play. So ⁓ yeah, I think it's spot on. I mean, both of them you're gonna have to use a reflective sticker on the club, so there's no advantage or disadvantage ⁓ position there. ⁓ they sit in the same place when you're hitting, they both are battery powered. ⁓ I guess if portability is is important then the G C three probably beats out the the R fifty, but then again, like you know, they're they're both you're gonna have to move ⁓ regardless. So but yeah, the G C three is smaller, so technically it is gonna be easier to take to the range and stuff. But yeah. Overall two awesome products, two products we sell a lot of and ⁓ return rates almost non existent on ⁓ because they are that that damn impressive. Yep. Yep. Yeah. Awesome. ⁓ I will say too, just a just a quick note. I know just from watching your content, shock, that that you scored the the Square Home Edition ⁓ a bit lower, ⁓ which is fair in terms of accuracy and ⁓ in the overall suite of data metrics. But I do think it's important to note that ⁓ it's still a very good news product in that it still is the only sub $1,000 photometric unit. And so for somebody that's tight on budget and tight on space, It's it's an incredible option. Is that fair to say? Yeah, I feel ⁓ you're putting me in a tough spot with that question because we I I we reviewed it. Yeah. We did not think it was that good. but it's also like I said, like under a thousand dollars. Like if you're tight on space and you're tight on money, then it's the option I would go with. But we just ⁓ Being honest, we got we've got roasted pretty hard by the square golf community, but me and Ryan just did not get like we just didn't get good numbers with it. We didn't get very good carry guardage accuracies and it was like significantly worse, I would say, than any device we've tested. Now other people have not reported that. ⁓ so but we don't know what to say. It's like we've done we did more we did triple the testing on it than any other device we've other ever tested because we wanted to be sure and we just we could not get good readings out of it overall. Now it wasn't like bad. It wasn't like, you know, it wasn't like, ⁓ my gosh, this is like the average golfer could tell it's off all the time. But just for us, we just we just honestly weren't super impressed with it. And it but we're hoping the Omni will kind of do a really good job 'cause it seems to be at a great price point and has quite a few significant upgrades over the home edition. So Yeah. Appreciate you being candid and and honest and and one of the reasons that your content is is successful is ⁓ Telling it like it is, telling it exactly as you've seen it or or found it to be. ⁓ mileage may vary, but that's your experience. And so ⁓ very fair points. ⁓ yeah, and and one thing too, I'll add it's like funny 'cause people are like, ⁓ yeah, they're you know, like they'll just make all these comments about how we reviewed all these things. They'll say, ⁓ you have white walls, blah, blah, blah. They'll they'll throw everything out in the book and it's like, guys, us putting a negative review on out on the square, like we're losing money. Like I would like We're gonna make way more money in sales by saying this thing is awesome. So, like, it doesn't help us to give it a negative review, but that's just like we just wanna be honest in what we do and what we say. So, like, that's why we still put the review out. Cause we're not just gonna come up here and say and lie and lie and say everything's good. We what we want is when someone buys a product, when they watch our video, they say, you know what, this is exactly what. Golfbuster side. Like they were they were spot on in what they kind of found. And so we want we think that in the long run is really important 'cause we be believe viewers will really trust you ⁓ once they get the product in their hands if it if it lives up to what we say. So absolutely. And that ⁓ that square community is a passionate one. ⁓ we'll we'll ⁓ we'll keep your address ⁓ off of this so so you don't They are they it's funny 'cause I'll like I'll s like we'll say negative things about every product, right? Like we'll talk about let's say gear effect with the Mibo products, you know, we'll talk about ⁓ you know, shot delay with the Skytrack, like whatever you want to call it, we'll do negative things, but I've never had a community just like be so relentless as the Square Golf community. And I don't know what it is, but they will they will get rough on you in the comments if you say anything negative about their products. So Yeah. Yeah. Well and it's fair to fair to point out that that no no product is without its flaws, minor or or or major. ⁓ in and so and that's what's so interesting about this whole thing and that's what we're trying to do today is is walk through and and kind of you know pick out some overall favorites, but with the caveat that it always comes down to your own personal use case and what your situation is, what your budget is, what your space is, ⁓ what it is that you most desire out of the product. And ⁓ the the right answer isn't the same answer for each user. In fact, very, very rarely is, right? ⁓ yeah. Well let's ⁓ let's move on to best radar launch monitors under five thousand dollars. These of course are are reading the golf ball ⁓ via Doppler radar. They sit on the floor behind the golf ball. traditionally require quite a bit more room depth than a ⁓ a photometric unit would, especially indoors to get ⁓ accurate ⁓ readings. advantages, big advantage being affordability. This is where we get into most of our sub-1,000, ⁓ sub-five thousand dollar options. ⁓ and then also the lefty righty thing is a non-issue with a floor standing radar unit. You don't have to move the unit when you bounce back and forth between Jock and and all of his buddies. ⁓ So Jack, ⁓ favorite radar launch monitor under $5,000. Yeah, I feel like that one's gonna be an easy one. I feel like you two could probably say what I'm gonna say knowing the channel. But it's gonna be the the Mivo Gen two for us. And we the original Mivo Plus is what I started with, what I purchased with my own money when I when I started. And really the main kind of thing with that was being that lefty golfer, right? And the reason like I love the Mivo Gen two is it's just it does so many things so well. And it really has Very little issues once you get it set up correctly. Now, with those radar-based units, we do find the setup is more important. That doesn't mean it necessarily takes longer all the time, but like you need to know what the correct setup is. Or like with these photometric units, right? You can power it on pretty much set it down, you're good to go. There's a lot of little things with these radar units, right? You got to get RCT balls, you got to make sure you have the right distance, you gotta have the make sure you have the right tilt and roll. But all that being said, We have the Mivo Gen two with the pro package and face impact at a nine point four six out of ten. And I would view our kind of our grade out of ten like a like a grade on a test, right? Like it's like, okay, would you be happy with a, you know, ninety-four point six percent on your test? ⁓ and real really the only knock we have on the product is that gear effect issue where you know, you hit your driver. If you mishit the club face, for those who don't know what gear effect is at home, right? If you Let's say you hit a shot that should be fading. If you hit it on the toe, right, toe will cause more draw spin, heel will cause more fade spin. And radar devices have trouble picking that up. Now, good news is if you hit it, you know, square at like square on the face or s really close to the or close to the center, I should say, as long as your shots like good or semi good, it's gonna read that offline accuracy pretty good. And I do I have heard there are there is an update in the works. to at least estimate gear effect. I don't know if I can say that, but I'm gonna I'm gonna say it here. So for us, just when you consider all the club data it offers and how accurate that is, we find with all those club information statistics that the radar devices, this radar device does an incredible job. We'll we've had times where we'll just line it up with the G C Quad Max, get them lined up, and then all the club data metrics will be within essentially ninety nine point nine percent of each other. almost every single time. It'll be club path, you know, it's within half a degree. And it's it's just like it's just a consistent device. And I always consider when I review, like, golf simulators are for more than just you. I can tell you like some people will get it. They're only gonna hit on their own. And that's great. That's a good time. But after a while, like I've probably hit over a hundred thousand golf shots. I started to get bored out of my mind if it's just me in here, right? I always think of like, hey, golf is meant to be played in community and I think This device in the budget option does as good of a job as you can for, you know, a community of golfers and having a great experience with it. Yeah, awesome points. ⁓ Daniel, anything you want to piggyback there? You know the product well. ⁓ it's just as Jock says, it is absolutely loaded with every possible piece of information. ⁓ assuming you do g upgrade to that pro package and face impact location, you've got everything you want to know about your golf swing. ⁓ possibly Pair it with G S Pro. I like their ⁓ ball physics al yeah, Daniel's not into that. I like their their algorithm a little better than the ⁓ like E six or kind of the default flight scope kind of like range algorithm. But yeah, no, I mean, ⁓ yeah, I think there's a reason that they're, you know, kind of best in their class and that's because they've done it longer than anyone in their class, ⁓ as far as like especially like in the Mivo, Mibo Gen two, like they're they're kind of where consumer launch monitors kind of took off. I mean, Skytrack was there. ⁓ but once Mevo Plus took off, like all of a sudden we started seeing the Rap Soto, we started seeing the Garmin R ten. now we've got like the Shot Scope LM1 coming to to play a little ball ⁓ as far as just like a consumer launch monitor goes. But ⁓ yeah, I mean they they're they're very good at what they do. They they keep things pretty simple, but it's really advanced at the end of the day. I mean a golf professional could buy this device and teach lessons with it. I mean a consumer can use it. So just it's so versatile, it's really portable. ⁓ honestly overall, like I like you said, Jock, like after you get it set up, like overall it's pretty user friendly. you know, it's reliable, it has good battery life now with a six hour battery. So ⁓ yeah, I I think it just hits a lot of a lot of points for people and then they don't have those ongoing costs like a lot of the other devices do too. So ⁓ value wise, it's right up there at the at the top of the options that are out there, even comparing it to to some photometric systems. And then like you said, Jock, like People who want G S Pro, this is this is a great pairing partner. There's no additional fees to get into G S Pro. You just buy G S Pro and that's not a common theme throughout this industry. So ⁓ yeah, it it's you know, obviously I've got a lot of history with their products. I love their products, I know how accurate they are. And ⁓ it again, the setup is key. Once you get the setup dialed in, you're really, really happy with it. And then I mean, similar to to Square, they've they've got a little bit of a cult following too, and ⁓ as they should. You know, it's th there's a lot there's a lot that they're ⁓ they're packing into a punch there with one device. Yeah. Let's talk real quick about face impact location and how how important you guys find that because that's a that's an interesting one that chumps to mind when you think of the Mivo Gen two. It's come back to the four now that ⁓ the Square Omni offers the same ⁓ at a similar price point. ⁓ thoughts on that guys? How how valuable of a piece of information is that? Yeah, I I what I would say is because Currently it struggles with the gear effect on the Woods type clubs. That's a crucial one because as long as you understand how like, you know, gear effect works, it can allow you to take the one thing that I would say is like not, you know, perfect on the gen two and allow you, if you know what you're doing, to realize what's happening. So if I have a shot that's kind of a a push fade and is going left on the Miibo Gen two, but I see on that face impact it hit it way on the toe. I can use for my knowledge, like, okay, there's gonna be some draw spin applied to that. And that's probably gonna end up a little more dry than normal. Now, at the end of the day, one of the things I actually like with not applying the gear effect is it tells these beginner golfers, like, hey, if you did hit it square on the face, this is where the ball would go, which I think the benefit of that is, you know, a lot of golfers don't know what's happening. So someone may be really hitting, like, let's say kind of that. push fade if they hit it square, but they hit it so consistently on the toe, they think they're drawing the golf ball. So then all of a sudden they change their whole swing to open it up. And all that does is like they had a you know, let's say a pretty straight push fade. Like it's not going that far right for the golfer. And then, you know, they start hitting it square and they've changed their swing and then like all of a sudden now they're slicing it. So the the the benefit I would say is it really teaches you to hone in that swing path and ⁓ face angle. But yeah. So that I I actually do think it's it's really important for the the golfer, especially with that Gen two, to help them understand where that ball's gonna go kinda out on the course for the woods type clubs. It's it's the most unutilized data parameter for amateur golfers and it's probably the most important, to be honest with you. I mean, hitting the golf ball in the center of the club face is goal number one. I mean, at the end of the day. That that's where you have to start. So ⁓ Yeah, yeah, obviously you wish more devices had that data. ⁓ I think that's why the Omni is probably gonna be another reason why it's gonna be you know, very popular pick. Right. But until then, I mean, you're looking at at products that are, you know, over ten thousand dollars to get that type of data. So Right. Awesome points. ⁓ huge, huge selling point for the Mi Bojon two. Other great ⁓ devices in this category. you got things like the ⁓ Rap Soto LM LM MLM2 Pro, the Garmin Approach R10, the full swing kit, the Shot Scope L LM1, and then the upcoming ⁓ Blue Tease Rainmaker that's just getting ready to drop here. I know we're all excited to give that one a run and ⁓ and see how it stacks up. ⁓ but point being, ⁓ once again, you've got options, can get confusing, but at the end of the day, ⁓ very, very good news. ⁓ let's talk overhead. This is ⁓ this is something that I know Jock, ⁓ you guys have tested ⁓ a decent amount of on your channel. And I think it's a bit of a separator for you guys because ⁓ a lot of other channels have tested more ⁓ of just the floor standing ⁓ or ground standing units and fewer of the overhead units. And so I think a lot of the stuff that you guys have put out has been very, very valuable content. This is what I would look at as like the Cadillac of of launch monitors in terms of if you want the most out-of-the-way luxury, the closest thing to a commercial or pro grade setup where you don't have to worry about knocking over the device. You don't have to worry about righties and lefties. ⁓ you it's a set it and forget it, ⁓ permanent install and ⁓ really the most luxurious way to play golf. And ⁓ while it is often or most often more expensive, it's not quite as cost prohibitive as everybody might make it out to be at the end of the day. ⁓ why don't you hit us with ⁓ with ⁓ a favorite ⁓ overhead if you got one Jack. Yeah right now I feel like I have a ⁓ I actually have I don't I don't want to call it a tie, but I would say with an overhead unit, ⁓ the Unicore IXO2 has been kind of our favorite. I have that a nine point nine six out of ten. But they j they re and not just release, but they also have the XR, which is it actually has some features that are better than the XO two in some areas, and it's significantly cheaper. So we've actually been we we have been pr primarily using the IXO two for the last year, and we've actually switched ⁓ to using the XR. And the reason we're making the switch is we're actually in the works to build a brand new golf simulator facility that'll be about triple the size of this. but with that, what we're gonna do is ⁓ the screen is gonna be around twelve, thirteen feet tall and around twenty-six feet wide. So we're gonna have a ginormous screen. So the main reason we actually wanted this XR and the reason we've been using it now is to see how it holds up because having that 13 foot tall screen, we can't use a ⁓ ceiling mount that sits in front of us that's 10 feet off the ground because it will block the projector. So we reached out to Unicor and they said the ball data accuracy is just as good. And so now we've been playing on this and I wanted to make sure, like, hey, is this device that's, you know, around six thousand dollars, is this something we can use in our next sim? And like, is it gonna hold up or like or am I gonna get to the point where I'm like, okay, I like I wanna use a better product? And it's really held up really well. It's got one of the things I love about it, it has club data without the use of club stickers and it doesn't it does a really good job. I wouldn't say it's the the the best of the best in terms of club data information accuracy, but it's awesome. That ball data accuracy is a nine point nine. ⁓ and then really kind of the really the only downside is your hitting area is a little bit smaller. And besides that, it you know it's it's not much worse it's not much different than the XO two. Now I will say the hitting having that big hitting area is is a big thing. You don't realize it ⁓ until you have it. ⁓ but I think they're priced appropriately and I think, you know, Unicor's in a really good spot because eventually they're gonna release their Unicore IXO three and just get rid of the club stickers and then you have a you know you have a really good ⁓ you know it it balances kind of like their price points really well, especially with the extra amount of club data you get with the IXO two. So those are our two favorites. I'd say Foresight Falcon kind of an honorable mentioned there. That's maybe number two. It's a little more expensive. No subscription fees. ⁓ but I would say we we ⁓ kind of functionality. It wasn't quite like day to day we'd have some no reads with that. And it wasn't quite as functional actually as the kind of the Unicore products. But still like like you said, we're kind of we're picking hairs here. Like when I say not as functional, it's like okay, maybe it had one ball that didn't read more over eighteen holes or something or two. Right. Sure. So And then ⁓ I think a lot of people are probably gonna ask about the track men, but just for us, like we do think that is, you know, one of the best devices out there. I think, you know, if you didn't consider price, that's probably it when you factor everything it has. But for us, the price is just so ridiculous. And when you include the subscription fees, it's like I can get two Unicore IXO twos for the cost of one of your trackmans you'd use in the business, and then I'm not paying over a thousand dollars a year to have the subscription for this device. So that's kind of our thoughts on the overhead market currently, I'd say. Yeah, great. Some great points. I will call out too ⁓ you guys did yeah I particularly liked your IXR video that you did. ⁓ I thought was outstanding and r really uncovered a lot of nice subtleties. ⁓ I would encourage anyone interested in overhead ⁓ or specifically the IXR to check that out on the Golfbusters channel. ⁓ you mentioned the Falcon, ⁓ get that big large hitting area. It's a fantastic product. There's no no denying foresight's accuracy. ⁓ and to be fair to to the Trackman I.O., I mean, it is Trackman, it is the gold standard, and we now have the opportunity to get that in our home for at least something that approaches a more reasonable price than a than it was just a a couple of years ago. And so I do think that that's still a big win for the consumer that's interested in going kind of for the gold standard. ⁓ if it's a cost no object ⁓ situation. ⁓ Daniel, you've had a lot of experience ⁓ using the Pro T V X. That's another very, very strong no subscription contender, ⁓ native GS Pro integration. Anything you wanna add on that note? And I will I will quick add, we haven't been able to test the Pro T V X. They haven't been necessarily we've asked them a couple of times to send us one and they've been a little bit zero dark thirty on us on that. So I'm gonna add that in. ⁓ so Daniel can fill in his thoughts on it since we haven't been able to. Yeah. Yeah. I mean I I I've s we've discussed a few times. We have it at our local facility. Yes, believe it or not, Jock, we have a golf simulator facility in Key West, Florida for some reason. ⁓ but yeah, we we have a couple of those here and I mean overall they're insanely reliable. They they capture every shot. I would say, you know, accuracy wise, it's probably in the ninetieth percentile. I do think that they ⁓ they they may need to do some work on their club data accuracy. Sometimes the face and path numbers don't feel as exaggerated or they feel exaggerated compared to what they actually are. But that would be really my only bit my only knock on them. I mean, I I think Unicor really set the stage ⁓ with having like that the video playback of seeing the club face ⁓ at impact, which was really cool. And now that's becoming kind of a standard across the industry. We've we've seen that in in other areas of of the golf industry where electronics kind of start things and everybody else kind of follows suit. So ⁓ you know, I do appreciate that feedback. That I think is more important and and again that comes back to impact location like we talked about earlier. I think once they get their golf course software out, they'll be a lot more valuable and I think people will maybe even pay more attention to ⁓ because just the lack of not really getting a a ton of sim software with it is is kind of a downgrade. But it's so easy to pair with GS Pro, which again, like we've said, is is the game changer. So that's where I think people look at overheads and they say, Well, you know, I don't want to pay a subscription to Unicore just so I can get to G S pro. And so that's where kind of the debate is right now, especially with XR and Pro T, because their pricing is so similar right now. That's kind of the debate. Also the debate is do I want it now or do I want to wait six weeks? 'Cause Unicore you can get right away. Pro T has a little bit of a delay. So ⁓ I think they're both awesome products and and I think like like we've kind of discussed too, Mark, like the overheads just feel like they're kind of taking over, especially as they become more affordable and people maybe realize, ⁓ I'm not gonna take it to the range, maybe, you know. The overhead is just so much more simplistic if you have the width to accommodate it. Cause they, you know, rarely in the simulator market are you having to deal with required width of your space. It's usually depth. But with an overhead, you want to make sure you've got the right width, or else left and right handed players aren't really able to hit from the same spot. So certainly like ⁓ like the other products and the other types of products, you know, there's a almost like a fitting process that we put people through. and this is kind of part of it is understanding the space so you know we can ensure that these overheads can can fit because they they also have a mounting height requirement too, not just to be able to swing the club, but to mount them properly. So ⁓ Yeah, it's exciting to see everything get more affordable. It's exciting to get see things get more ⁓ accurate and and obviously we're getting more options every every year, it feels like. Yes, absolutely. Yeah, and I kind of want to piggyback off a couple of Daniel's comments with the what he talked about the photo impact and kind of video replay the Unicor has, like that is by far, I would say, our favorite feature on any golf simulator. And probably the number one reason we have the Falcon rank behind it is the fact that it it doesn't show that. Even though you know it would be extremely easy for them to show that. So it only you know, like they have the four cameras in there. They just gotta take the they literally probably just have to take like a like a the video from one of those cameras, take a screen, you know, they're take the they probably have a photo doing the same thing. So like for me it's like that is the downside on that. And then ⁓ another benefit when you talk about the width needed for those overhead units, that's one of the biggest benefits Of the XO2 because that hitting area is so large, you can have lefties hit way on one side, righties hit way on the other, and it effectively makes your room width, you know, two to three feet wider than it actually is with that feature. So let's bring it back down to the floor. So ⁓ we talked overhead ⁓ earlier, we talked floor standing photometric, then we went into floor standing radar. ⁓ let's talk premium. floor launch monitors. Now these would be the devices that you'd see when you turn on the golf channel and you watch the guys warm up on the range. This is what they're using. We're talking premium launch monitors, photometric launch monitors that are excuse me, photometric or radar launch monitors, because there are two kind of biggies in this space. ⁓ ten thousand dollars or more. Jack, ⁓ got a favorite Yeah I would say ⁓ for Indoors it would be the probably the Foresight GC Quad Max. ⁓ it's it's just an awesome advice. Now again, I am gonna complain a little bit that Foresight is lacking some of those premier features. So like with the GC Quad Max, the reason it it costs what it costs is it's the ultimate in ball data accuracy and club information data accuracy. And I always throw out the information data. in between. It's really called club data, but I I get I get a lot of viewers who will be like, ⁓ if the club data's worse on a device, does that mean that it you know, like they think they mix the two with ball data. They think the ball flight's gonna be different. So I always say club information data. So with that foresight products, right, you're getting the best of the best on those two accuracy categories. ⁓ and it's just so simple to use at the driving range. Like you know, for someone like me who's, you know, showing up to the course not an hour early, right? I got 30 minutes, 20 minutes. If I ever want to put a launch monitor out, it almost needs to be one of those because you just power it on, set it down, and you're good to go. It is so simple. And then it's top-tier accuracy indoors as well. ⁓ and really my only complaint with that device is the fact that features are a little outdated, right? They have an e ink display. Everyone else has ⁓ like an LED display. You look at the Garmin R fifty, it's literally a like an iPad screen basically in it. So that The fact that they don't have, you know, a video replay of your club and a photo impact like the Garmin R fifty does or some of the Unicore products. That's really my only downside on it. But if you're all you're looking for is the you know, top tier accuracy, you you can't beat it. Well, let's talk about the other big one. So when you turn on the golf channel or or you're watching a warm up for a major, it's two products, right? It's two products that we see all day long. And it's the Foresight G C Quad or Quad Max and Daniel, the other one. Yeah, I mean the the Trackman four obviously is something you see ⁓ on the range still a lot. And the big reason for that is because these players want fully tracked data. They want to see that ball launch to landing its true carry distance. ⁓ the reason if people don't know they do that is the quad ⁓ will give them normalized data. So it's data like not showing wind and it's a set it's basically their temperature they're playing at and it just gives them distances with no wind. So they can understand, okay, what's my baseline of data? And then when they go out on the golf course, because we play different elements every time we play, they can just apply to that baseline. ⁓ then they get their fully tracked distance of data with the with the radar, with the track man measuring launch to landing. And if they don't want to put club stickers on, they can use it for their club data too, if they really want to work, which typically those guys aren't working on that type of stuff on the range before an event. ⁓ but some of ⁓ do. Yeah. Awesome. Awesome points. ⁓ all right. How about ⁓ sim software? This is where things ⁓ you know it's a bit confusing. Everything we've talked about so far is actually a launch monitor, ⁓ right? The device that that captures the what the ball is doing and the club face is doing either via camera or radar or both. ⁓ but to allow for us to play virtual golf, to see that ball virtually flying through the air, for us to play Pebble Beach ⁓ as we're crushing beers in our garage. ⁓ that requires the interface with some SIM software. and there's a lot of options in that arena as well. ⁓ many of these launch monitors ⁓ come with their own native SIM software. Some of them try to herd you in or almost force you to use that native SIM software. Others them others of them allow you ⁓ a little bit easier or more affordable access to third party sim software options. Jock, I know your answer on this one. What's your favorite SIM software? Yeah, so I am I am I love G S Pro. I just think I'm I'm gonna use like kind of an analogy. Like I would say, you know, a lot of the other sim softwares feel like it's like the company who has hired people to make the software. Where GS Pro feels like it's a group of individuals who own the company and are like, I wanna make the best golf simulator software out there and I'm gonna do everything I can. To do that, right? It feels like it's these group of guys who care passionately about it and giving you the best features and experience. And I really love it. I love the price point. ⁓ now one thing I will say is there are other really good simulator softwares out there. So we've talked about Foresight, we've talked about ⁓ Unicore. You know, they have their own software, but then you have to pay their subscription fee and then GS Pro's fee. Now, if someone's tight on money, I do think both of their softwares are really good. I think you could Pay their subscription, only use their software and be completely happy. But if I had my choice, it's going to be GS Pro. Yeah. ⁓ Daniel, anything to add? Yeah, and I think the one thing people may not realize, and it it kind of surprises people, at least when I talk to customers, is you don't have to have the same launch monitor to play against other people on GS Pro, right? So you can sync up with people, you can play online together, you can play online events. They have a whole simulator golf tour that they run. ⁓ plus I think like one thing that that that G S Pro kinda has made a name for itself. I mean, they use it in the TGL league for their software. So I mean if I mean if you're if they're using it, there it's gotta have some method to the madness here. I mean it's it's really cool, honestly, at the end of the day. It's it's impressive, impressive stuff. There are some close seconds, like you said, Jock. I mean, FSX ⁓ software ⁓ from Foresight, the trackman software is obviously incredible, but you're paying a premium for that software. So in my opinion, yeah, it it should be good. ⁓ but yeah I I picked GS Pro too. Yeah, but just a quick shout out to SkyTrack's overall native software just for the ⁓ the fun usability and all of the challenges that are baked in beyond the virtual golf courses. ⁓ a lot of fun and and really useful kind of training options and very, very intuitive and simple to use. but to the GS Pro point 250 bucks a year. You got an option like the Mivo Gen 2 that Jack called out earlier, or the ⁓ the Square Omni. You don't require an additional subscription. It's a straight plug-and-play for just that $250 a year. ⁓ and the realism is outstanding. So in a lot of scenarios, it becomes, just as Jack said, ⁓ something of a no-brainer. so all right. Well, ⁓ that was fantastic. ⁓ hopefully, ⁓ hopefully painless as well. Father's Day right around the corner. ⁓ Jock, you're a dad. I don't know what kind of allowance you're paying your kids, ⁓ what their budget is. ⁓ but but ⁓ what do you if if you could dream or or ⁓ hope for something, what would ya what would you hope to to get this Father's Day? ⁓ th that's not gonna be golf related. That is ⁓ gonna be Pokemon card related. I'm a pretty big Pokemon card collector. You can kind of see it over There on the wall. ⁓ so I'd be asking for Pokemon packs. ⁓ we got a whole group of guys we used to play the games when we were kids. We got about ten guys in a group chat. We do rip nights all the time. We got a big rip night planned for golf league. And yeah, I guess it does come into golf a little bit 'cause I putt with a with a Pokemon golf ball, which I get a lot of comments for because per USGA rules you can't switch your ball in the putting green. But my comment for that would be like, so this this Pokemon golf ball, one, it's a collector's item, guys. So no one you're basically not getting it. I think they were made for Pokemon Center Japan in 2016. And my mom and sister happened to be in Japan and got me the golf balls before I even like really played golf. Like I'd play one time of summer, maybe, right? And so I kept them. I was like, I'm gonna putt with them on the channel because I like Pokemon, and then it gets people to comment. And then do people say that I'm cheating by switching ball guys, this ball that was made in Japan by a company that probably doesn't even make golf balls, like that's not gonna roll better than an actual golf ball. So if anything I'm hurting myself with that thing. Yeah, it's probably a disadvantage more than an advantage. Well who knows? We need we need the testing on that. We're gonna need the testing. I know. We'll have to do a gol official golf mythbusters, you know, golf busters test on it. But you know Daniel and I were ⁓ joking in the chat ⁓ how many minutes in it would take to get to Pokemon. You ⁓ you you didn't disappoint. You got there eventually. Yeah, well you kinda set me up with that one. I don't think it would have came off you didn't ask me like what resin I'd want. And part of it is like do you have every ⁓ sorry, keep going. You have a recommendation for a Father's Day gift. ⁓ you might already own it, but for somebody else out there. Yeah, so golf related. Golf related. ⁓ yeah, go I feel like what I would say in terms of the launch monitor Category. You know, I'd break it into our three categories. If so they're looking for a budget golf simulator, I'm a big Miibo Gen 2 guy, code Golfbusters 10. Try to get that pro package if you can. If not, works great, you know, works great without it, but you won't get as much teaching data. I think in the kind of that pro sumer level I call it, you know, kind of that $2,500 ⁓ $5,000 range. I'm a huge fan of the I'm a huge fan of the R fifty Really there's a ton of good options in that range. Foresight, G C three S, Bushnell, Circle B, Unicore, I Mini, like there's ⁓ Skytrack, S T Max. There's a lot of really good options in that category. And then I like I said, if you go above five grand, I like the Unicore XR and IXO two as gifts for the dad. And we got discount codes called Golfbusters Ten. I'm gonna shut my own code out on the video. You guys can cut that out if you want to, but Well, I'm glad I'm not your kid. Those are some ⁓ some nice ⁓ some nice gifts for for Father's Day. Yeah, right. Sun's buying it. Sun's paying for it. So Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. ⁓ Jock, really appreciate you joining us today. ⁓ tell us where ⁓ where everyone can find ya. Yeah, so we are golfbusters on YouTube and I would say that is kind of our we have some heavy hitting YouTube videos. We have a you know, three videos over a million views, so that is our YouTube channel and then on TikTok and Instagram we're I We actually switched it. It used to be Broby one golf and we just switched it to the it's just the golf busters. And that's a lot more of like just I would say us outdoors playing golf short form. Like, you know, we're doing ch like trying to go eighteen holes in a row without three putting, trying to become a scratch golfer, eighteen holes without a drop. We're doing a new series where I'm challenging it's like day one of challenging bar stool rigs to a match to see who's the Best golfer with the ugliest swing. So see how many days it's gonna take me to get a match with rigs. But I know people want left-handed rigs versus actual rigs. I know it'll happen at some point here. So all right. All right. Awesome. ⁓ all right, fellas. Well, that's a wrap. ⁓ big thanks to Jock and Golfbusters. ⁓ please go check out that channel if you haven't already. ⁓ and if you've got questions or are still trying to figure out which launch monitor belongs in your setup.
