  And 3-0, people are starting to stand up and say that they are the real deal now.

  They certainly are. Now, Friday night, Brisbane Lions 100 over the Carlton Blues 89.

  11-point margin. That was the final nail in the coffin, sadly,

  for poor old Michael Voss.

  Yes, and Voss, he knew it and communicated that with the powers to be prior

  They were monster in the first half, but unlike Carlton this year,

  But, yeah, I feel for Michael Voss. He's not the one out there missing the shots

  So I always feel for the coach, particularly when he's a legend of the game.

  He certainly is, and that game was up against his old club in the Brisbane line.

  So where to from here for the Blues? They'll name an interim coach for the remainder

  of the season and they'll look to a point for someone for next season?

  Yeah, former Collingwood player and number one draft pick back in the day,

  Josh Fraser, Collingwood Ruckman, will take the reins for the remainder of the season.

  And as which has been quite common for the Carlton Football Club over the past 20-odd years,

  they'll go through a process of picking a new coach and it's hard to see anyone

  There's some A-grade coaches, plus there's a lot of younger fellas coming through

  as assistant coaches in other clubs, particularly a few of my old Geelong fellas

  in Corey Enright at St Kilda, James Raleigh at Geelong, and James Kelly at Geelong.

  And we've seen what Stephen King's done at Melbourne, an extra long coach and

  player has done with the Dees this year.

  So, yeah, it's whether they stick with the tried and true or they go with the

  inexperienced coach and give them a crack.

  So it really is watch this space for both the Blues and the Tassie Devils.

  Let's move over to Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs and the Dogs got home by two points.

  They did and Port, they've been there abouts, the old Port Adelaide power side.

  They went down by two points to the doggies the week prior to that they lost

  to Adelaide by a point, they beat Geelong by five goals the week before that

  they lost to Hawthorne by three points the week before that,

  and earlier on in the year went down to West Coast by two points so poor old

  Port Adelaide, they've been there about so they could quite easily be in the

  top four and we're not speaking of them,

  by any stretch of the imagination of being in the league of those teams,

  but if they had flipped a few of those results, they'd be right up there.

  In the end, when you just fall short, you still don't get any points,

  and that will be something I would imagine they'll have a look at later on in the year.

  I saw a headline during the week, the rebuild is over for North Melbourne,

  and they pushed the Sydney Swans all the way.

  Do you agree with that headline? Yeah, most definitely. And even,

  you know, fellas like Cain Collins have been calling it, you know,

  the rebuild's over 12 months ago.

  And now people are actually starting to join in the chorus, to use a phrase

  from North Melbourne's theme song, and join Cain in his remarks that the rebuild is over.

  And they're looking good, the

  Roos. Now they've just got to start knocking over some of these top sides.

  They're thereabouts for good parts of games now, and they've just got to turn

  them into four-point wins.

  What do we take away from that? I'm not too sure. Giants still missing players on the injury list.

  They've had a rough old start to the year, the Giants, as far as the calibre

  Now, Jono, as expected at Fortress TIO Stadium, the Suns made it 9 from 9 with

  an 89 to 60 point win over St Kilda.

  The Saints were up and up by a fair bit. The Suns certainly had their work to do.

  I know. At that point in time, Cam, I was a bit concerned for your Suns up at

  the Fortress of TIO, which, as we're aware, they have not been defeated on that

  ground and they love playing footy there.

  Well done to the Suns, turn around and get back in the game and win that.

  Poor old Saints missing Nassai Wanganeen Malera. He went out.

  It was a late out prior to the game. And as it's turned out this week,

  he'll miss a few weeks of footy now. So that's a big loss for the Saints.

  But hopefully, for your sake, Cam, the Brownlow medalist Matty Rowe might be

  able to come up from an ankle injury and get back and play on Friday night.

  and I went to the MCG and saw this game, Geelong should have won by 15 goals.

  The amount of times the Cats turned the ball over or decided to take a long

  option or a risky option when they had an easier one they could have taken was

  quite significant throughout the game.

  And the margin probably flattered Collingwood in the end.

  Geelong was sensational and they should have won. So hopefully they can take

  that into Brisbane on Thursday night.

  An interesting point that you make. Yeah, they won by 54 by what you're saying.

  They should have won by a lot more than 54.

  Yeah, I think so. They made a lot of errors at certain times when the game was

  wide open for them and just costly ones and they cost you goals.

  So, yeah, it was a good performance by the Fats.

  Yeah, it started quite close this game. It wasn't too bad early on in the contest,

  but then D's obviously too strong in the end, and the poor old Eagles there,

  young side, but they'll get there. They just got to keep at it.

  And the Crows, they travelled over to Melbourne to face the Tigers at the MCG

  and they got away with it by 37 points, 98 to 61.

  And this was quite similar. The Tigers were well and truly in the contest at

  halftime and after halftime,

  the Crows tightened the screws on the Tigers and converted their opportunities

  and ended up 37 points in front and it's probably how the margin should be in the end, really.

  Let's have a look at the latter. The top six is the Swans, the Dockers,

  the Hawks, the Lions, the Cats, and the Suns.

  Sitting in the wild card from seven through to ten, Demons, Crows,

  And sitting out at this stage, we've got the Saints, the Kangaroos,

  GWS, Port Adelaide, the Eagles, Blues, Bombers, and Tigers. Thoughts on the latter?

  Well, I'm just looking at it as you speak, Cam, and those four games that I

  mentioned about Port Adelaide going down in narrow defeats, if they'd have won

  four of those, that takes them then up to 28 points and they'd be sitting third

  on the ladder, which is huge.

  It's, yeah, it's small margins, isn't it, but it's quite costly in the long run.

  It certainly is. They've got to make those ones count. Let's get into round 10.

  It starts Thursday night where we'll see the Lions take on your cats.

  And on the Cats' form cam, I think they can go up and beat the Lions at the Gabba.

  My only concern is a five-day turnaround from playing on Saturday night.

  This should be a cracker. This could really be a toss-of-the-coin game, this one, Cam.

  If Melbourne are playing, as we know, some great footy this year,

  which is quite unexpected, and the Hawks, they're coming back from Perth,

  obviously they would have had a quiet week as far as recovering from that.

  Both sides are playing some great footy, tossing the coin. Probably just think

  the Hawks might have a greater firepower than the Ds.

  continues to happen at Manly with their FOS ball. It didn't happen at the Dragons.

  My sense is that Voss was well-liked in the dressing room.

  So, you know, maybe they do it for Vossie and maybe we're talking this time

  next week following a Blues win, but I am going to tip the Dogs.

  who, I feel for Richmond, they've had a lot of injuries this year,

  them I think I heard someone say the other day that in the Richmond's VFL side

  team at the moment and they're all virtually ring-ins coming from local footy

  clubs so that's a bit of a shame for the Tigers but yeah you'd think the Saints

  I think the greatest thing this week is Michael Voss. And good on you,

  Voss. He's been a champion of the game. He's an absolute champion footballer.

  And he took over the Brisbane Lions when, you know, they were a bit of a basket

  case up north. So that didn't end well for him. and he obviously took over Carlton

  and they were a bit of a basket case too and that didn't end well for him.

  But I hope his legacy is not remembered by those two coaching stints but more

  so of what a legend he was as a player on and off the field.

  It's a tough gig. Do you think he'll look for his third AFL coaching job?
