- 0:34now. You know, there's different
- 0:35times of the year that come up. You know we're approaching the
- 0:38holidays, we're approaching different types of things.
- 0:40There's going to be parties, family gear, togethers, events
- 0:44to go to like school events, plays, outings, festivals, you
- 0:47name it. All the stuff happens over the
- 0:49holidays. Between November and December
- 0:51it's packed. There's all kinds of stuff going
- 0:53on, so I'm here to help you digest and create some kind of
- 0:58landscape of how you can actually do this.
- 0:59I've actually written down 10 things that you can really take
- 1:02into consideration when you're trying to survive these social
- 1:06events, especially for century people, right?
- 1:08So the fitting at the top of a year is plan and prepare.
- 1:11Now, preparation is key. If you can prepare, you know
- 1:14what to do. Like I'm going to take this for
- 1:16me and say what we mean. I'm going to make sure that I've
- 1:18got backup food if I need to eat in case the food there I don't
- 1:20agree with or something like that.
- 1:22You've got a taxi book or you've got friends to take you home.
- 1:25You know exactly what you're going to do in that situation.
- 1:28If you plan ahead and you prepare for some eventualities
- 1:31like I call it the ABC list. So you have plan A, Plan B, and
- 1:34plan C, you know always one of those is going to work.
- 1:38If all of those fail, then I'm sorry, you can come back and
- 1:40kick my butt on this video. But typically if plan A fails,
- 1:43Plan B will always work and Plan B fails and plus he will be the
- 1:46one you take. Now, the next one is using
- 1:48calming techniques. When you're in a social
- 1:50situation, when you're in a crowded social event, it's
- 1:53always difficult to kind of keep your calm.
- 1:54I get super anxious about everything.
- 1:57But when you're in a social event like that, it's hard to
- 1:59maintain your stability. So I would say using calming
- 2:02techniques, not my best one, is to breathe in, hold your breath
- 2:07and breathe out. If you can do that five times,
- 2:10you win every time. And I'm telling you now, no
- 2:13matter where you are, what you're doing, if you could just
- 2:15hold your breath for a minute and then breathe out just at
- 2:17least three times, what I'd say to do five times, you will
- 2:20instantly carry yourself down and really reduce a lot of that
- 2:23anxiety. So #4 is kind of like a no brain
- 2:25there. I love this one, but it's
- 2:26dressing comfortably when I go anywhere, I dress for comfort
- 2:30and ease of me. I don't dress to oppress anybody
- 2:32because I don't care what I look like to anybody.
- 2:35I just want to be able to survive that situation.
- 2:37So if I I'm going to a party or something, if I'm going on a
- 2:39plane, I'll just dress in pajamas.
- 2:40I don't care because like I want to be comfortable.
- 2:42I don't want to be sensory trigger by wearing jeans and I
- 2:44don't want to wear jeans or if I'm wearing like a tuxedo, like
- 2:47no way, no way, Jose. If I go to weddings, I'm wearing
- 2:50trainers. I don't have a tie on, you know,
- 2:53I'm wearing a baseball cap. Like I have to be super, super
- 2:57comfy to be able to relax and survive the situation.
- 2:59And so should you, You come first and you're #1 make sure
- 3:02you do that. But these #5 is remembering to
- 3:04bring headphones or Earpods. You know, headphones are
- 3:06amazing. I love noise casting headphones.
- 3:09These are the Apple ones, but you can get a whole bunch of
- 3:11ones. I use the Bose ones for years
- 3:12and years. And you can also get the small
- 3:14Airpod ones a bit more discreet, like the small Apple ear ear
- 3:16ones. They're amazing because they got
- 3:18like a noise cancellation feature, which is just
- 3:20fantastic. So always remember to bring
- 3:22headphones with you because if it's getting too loud, just put
- 3:24those bad boys on. You win.
- 3:26Guys, I just want to interrupt this video and say thank you to
- 3:28today's video sponsor, which is brilliant.
- 3:31And it really is a non prescription homeopathic
- 3:33medication that I take and you could take for ADHD related kind
- 3:38of issues, right? This is why I take it because it
- 3:40helps with enhancing clarity, improving concentration,
- 3:42reducing anxiety, stress, irritability, impulsivity, and
- 3:46it just is really, really awesome.
- 3:48I've been taking this now for two years and I swear by it.
- 3:51Now you can get Brillia for adults and children.
- 3:53So depends if you're an adult on the spectrum or you have a child
- 3:55on the spectrum, you can check out Brillia.
- 3:58Now I would always recommend checking in with your doctor if
- 4:01you're thinking about taking any medication.
- 4:03But if you are interested in checking out Brillia, I can give
- 4:06you a 15% off code by using ASPI 15 right now by checking out the
- 4:11link in description down below or in my bio depending on where
- 4:13you watching this video. I'm checking it out.
- 4:15If you want to check out really with a 15% discount, then use
- 4:19Aspen 15. Okay, let's turn on the video.
- 4:22The number six is planning for breaks, making sure you take
- 4:25small interval breaks. That means going outside the
- 4:27party, getting out to fresh air, getting out to a quiet room.
- 4:30It could even just be going to the bathroom for a break.
- 4:33It's just giving yourself a sensory break or a buffer of
- 4:36sensory deregulation. So you can just kind of
- 4:38decompress a bit and then go back to the chaos.
- 4:40It's like if you break it up like that, things become way
- 4:43more manageable and you're not getting overloaded the whole
- 4:45time. You have a decompression tire
- 4:47and you can recuperate as and when you feel like it.
- 4:50Very interesting. OK, so #7 is visual schedules,
- 4:53if you're, you know, going to an event and there's a lot of
- 4:56things to do, like sometimes I work with Google and YouTube and
- 4:58MIT and stuff like that and other types of charities.
- 5:01I will go to an event and I'll be like dinner and then a
- 5:03presentation and then something else.
- 5:04And then we'll have to have speeches and there's a lot of
- 5:06stuff going on and I get really confused with things like that.
- 5:08So if I write it down and draw it down and make it more visual,
- 5:12then I have a visual planet, a visual expectation of what's
- 5:15going to happen on that date. I'm either you just get emojis
- 5:18or gifts and I just put them into a Word document.
- 5:20I just poop, poop, poop or go to Google Docs, just put them in
- 5:22there and say time, you know, this is what's happening.
- 5:24Picture of dinner, you know, that makes everything way more
- 5:28knowledgeable because I can see what's happening.
- 5:29I have a visual representation of what I expect to happen.
- 5:32And that's so cool. OK, so #8 is practicing social
- 5:36scripts now, scripting is really interesting because I use this a
- 5:39lot. Before I go anywhere, before I
- 5:40do anything, I go over and over and over in my head what I want
- 5:43to sound like. How do I want to come across?
- 5:45Am I going to sound like I'm saying what I want to say?
- 5:47And any way to do this comfortably is to make sure that
- 5:50you know in your head what you're going to do in a social
- 5:52situation. Hey, I'm done, this is what I
- 5:54do. Nice to meet you.
- 5:56OK, We've all see the next people.
- 5:58This whole kind of like idea of socializing in parties is kind
- 6:01of just a small thing of getting to know people on networking and
- 6:04maybe just relaxing. So I would always practice
- 6:06social scripts. Maybe we have two.
- 6:07We have one follow one in follow.
- 6:09What I mean by that is one for like people who you know you
- 6:11want to be friends with and people who you want to maybe I
- 6:13don't know, partner up with or network with.
- 6:16You're very important and it's great.
- 6:17And also it's kind of like a business building tip as well.
- 6:19If you're an entrepreneur or a self-employed person #9 there's
- 6:22a no brainer which is bringing a support person with you.
- 6:25Now, I don't really go anywhere alone.
- 6:27I always have an assistant with me because it's really good to
- 6:30have someone to kind of bounce ideas off or talk to.
- 6:33If you're kind of getting a bit freaked out or you need to do
- 6:35something, you should refer to them and say, hey dude, help me
- 6:37out. I need some help because I'm
- 6:38feeling like this A lot of people are amazing.
- 6:41Always ask a family or friend to come with you and you just wait.
- 6:44It's super awesome. Last, but at no means least make
- 6:48sure to focus on having fun, enjoy yourself, relax.
- 6:50This is your time to kind of hang out, see people, maybe make
- 6:53new friends. It's always important to have
- 6:56the bigger picture in line and the bigger picture is that just
- 6:58to enjoy yourself. This is your wife.
- 7:00Enjoy it guys, if you think this is awesome, please give it a
- 7:03thumbs up and share it on social media.
- 7:04If you think it can help someone, drop me a comment and
- 7:06read every single one. If you want to tell me
- 7:08something, all right, see you in the next video guys.
