- 0:00Leviticus chapter 16. Let's pray.
- 0:04Father God, who is in heaven, Lord, may we keep your name
- 0:09holy. Your name is so set apart.
- 0:14Lord, Your name is separate from every other name on planet
- 0:18earth. When we call upon that name
- 0:21today, we receive our salvation. Today, Lord, your name is high
- 0:26and lifted up above every other entity, above every other false
- 0:32deity, false God. You are the only one true,
- 0:35living God. So Lord, we place our entire
- 0:40faith upon you today. We will not serve any other
- 0:45gods. We will not bow down to any
- 0:47other idols. We will worship you today.
- 0:50Completely, fully transform us today, Lord, I pray it will not
- 0:57be the same, will not look the same, will not talk the same.
- 1:00God will be completely different, Father, because if
- 1:04any man is in Christ, he's a new creation.
- 1:06So, God, we walk in that new creation.
- 1:10We walk in that bridal identity. We walk, Father, in the reality
- 1:16that you love us and that you're for us.
- 1:18You're not against us, Lord. You're fighting our battles,
- 1:23Lord. You go before us.
- 1:24You're our rear guard, our right guard, and our left guard, God,
- 1:29We are under your divine protection.
- 1:33Form a hedge of protection around our houses.
- 1:36Form a hedge of protection around our children.
- 1:39Form a hedge of protection around our workplaces.
- 1:42Form a hedge of protection around the workplace, the
- 1:45school, the banks, God, the grocery stores.
- 1:48Form a hedge of protection around this country.
- 1:51God, I pray for those who are the righteous leaders in the
- 1:55land. God, I pray that you'll help us.
- 1:58Lord, help us to know that you are, that you are worthy to be
- 2:04praised. Help us to know that this word
- 2:06is trustworthy and true. Help us to love you more.
- 2:10God, thank you for daily bread. God, we ask for your Kingdom and
- 2:14your will to be done here on this earth just as it is there.
- 2:18Thank you God for forgiving us. Lord, we forgive those Lord, who
- 2:22sin against us. Lord, I pray that we're not let
- 2:25off into temptation. Lord, I pray against the evil
- 2:29one. Father, bind the evil 1.
- 2:32Bind all the demonic haunts. God, cast them into the judgment
- 2:36that you have a waiting for them.
- 2:37Lord, I pray that you'll cast them into the swine God, and
- 2:41push them off of the Cliff, Father, and drown them in the
- 2:44depths of the ocean. Lord, I pray that they'll be
- 2:48chained in utter darkness, Father, and await the judgment
- 2:51that you have for them. Lord, I pray in the mighty name
- 2:55of Jesus Christ that there'll be no demonic entities upon our
- 3:00families. God, I pray in the name of Jesus
- 3:03that you'll drive them out. Father, I pray in the name of
- 3:06Jesus that you'll make our house a holy habitation unto you.
- 3:10I pray that husbands will be the high priest of their homes.
- 3:13God, I pray that women will be submissive unto the husbands.
- 3:17I pray the children will be obedient unto their parents.
- 3:21God, I pray that that this land will be purged and purified,
- 3:25God, and cleansed of all the blood that has been spilled of
- 3:29the innocent Father. I pray that you'll help us, God,
- 3:32help us to walk in the reality that you are and that you're
- 3:36moving everything in the perfect concordance to everything that
- 3:40you've written about and given us every last detail.
- 3:44God, we step into that. We believe it today.
- 3:46Lord, we operate within that reality.
- 3:49We operate within that faith. God, let us please you today by
- 3:53increasing our faith. It's in Jesus Christ holy and
- 3:56precious name. But I pray, Amen.
- 4:00Let's start in verse one. And the Lord spoke unto Moses
- 4:06after the death of his two sons of Aaron, when they offered
- 4:10before the Lord and died. He's talking about Nadab and
- 4:14Abahu whenever they got drunk and tried to go in to the
- 4:17holiest of holy places, and God sent fire and struck them down.
- 4:22Two. And the Lord said unto Moses,
- 4:24speak to Aaron your brother, that he come not at all times
- 4:28into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat,
- 4:32which is upon the ark, that he died not, for I will appear in
- 4:37the cloud upon the mercy seat. So God here is promising that
- 4:41He's going to come in the Shekinah glory into the holiest
- 4:45of holy places at Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the day
- 4:50friends. And God here is telling Moses to
- 4:54tell Aaron, don't just come haphazardly, flippantly into the
- 4:58holiest of holy places. Make sure that you get yourself
- 5:02prepared. Make sure that you are set apart
- 5:06and that you've confessed and repented of all the sins and
- 5:10consecrate yourself before you come into the holiest of holy
- 5:14places. And aren't you thankful that God
- 5:16has taken your sin and thrown it as far as the east is from the
- 5:20West? And aren't you thankful that
- 5:22you're covered in the blood of Jesus Christ and marked by the
- 5:25Holy Spirit, so that you can come into this holiest of holy
- 5:29places and die? Not 3.
- 5:33Thus shall Aaron come to the holy place with a young bull for
- 5:37a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.
- 5:41So here we can see the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 5:43He was all alone whenever he went and did all of the things
- 5:47that were required for the high priest, and there was no one
- 5:51there with him. He was all alone.
- 5:52And that's what you're going to see here of God telling Moses to
- 5:56tell Aaron is that on this day he is to do all of these things
- 6:00for himself. And we can see it mirrored and
- 6:03modelled in the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 6:07For and he shall put on the holy linen coat, and shall have the
- 6:11linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with the
- 6:15linen girdle, and with the linen mitre he shall be attired.
- 6:20These are the holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his
- 6:23flesh in water, and so put them on.
- 6:25So this was a casual attire. This was not his high priestly
- 6:30attire. The high priestly garments that
- 6:33he would normally have on this was a very casual linen and very
- 6:39breezy attire. 5 And he shall take of the congregation of the
- 6:45children of Israel, two kids of the goats for a sin offering,
- 6:50and 1 ram for a burnt offering. 6 And Aaron shall offer his bowl
- 6:58of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an
- 7:03atonement for himself and for his house.
- 7:07So here's what you need to know. Aaron is doing the work, and
- 7:11he's offering this bull up because it is for his sins and
- 7:15for his household sins. It started there with him, and
- 7:19then it would spread out into the nation. 7 And he shall take
- 7:23the 2 goats and present them before the Lord at the door of
- 7:27the Tabernacle of the congregation. 8 And Aaron shall
- 7:31cast lots upon the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the
- 7:35other lot for the scapegoat. So this scapegoat was an escape
- 7:40goat. It got to escape.
- 7:42And there was nothing that was different about these two.
- 7:45They were the same. It wasn't that one was beat up
- 7:48and the other was nice. The lots, The dice is what
- 7:53decided who got to escape and who was offered.
- 7:58Nine. Adaaron shall bring the goat
- 8:00upon which the Lord's lot fell, and offer him for a sin
- 8:04offering. Ten.
- 8:05But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall
- 8:10be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with
- 8:14him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
- 8:18So this scapegoat would be LED off away from the camp and then
- 8:23released. And it was to symbolize that the
- 8:29sins of the Israelites were completely atoned for.
- 8:36They were covered, they were separated, they were out.
- 8:39They were not to come back. They were not to be remembered.
- 8:4311 And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which
- 8:47is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself and for
- 8:51his house. He shall kill the bull of the
- 8:54sin offering which is for himself. 12 And he shall take a
- 8:57sensor full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the
- 9:01Lord, of his hands, full of sweet incense beaten small, and
- 9:04bring it within the veil. So here he goes.
- 9:06He's going into the veil. He has the incense, Friends. 14
- 9:11And he shall take of the bull, of the blood of the bull, and
- 9:15sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward and upon
- 9:20the mercy seat, and shall sprinkle the blood of the finger
- 9:257 times. So can you see him?
- 9:29He's going into the holiest of holy places.
- 9:32He has the blood of the bull and he's sprinkling it upon the
- 9:36mercy seat, and God has already told him that he's going to
- 9:39visit him there. His Shekinah glory.
- 9:42The cloud is encompassing. Can you even imagine what this
- 9:46would have been like for Aaron as he goes in and he sees the
- 9:50manifest presence of God there at the mercy seat and he's
- 9:54sprinkling the blood and it's all pointing towards our Lord
- 9:58Jesus Christ and what He did for us at Calvary.
- 10:01We can't even begin to wrap our minds around what was happening,
- 10:05friends and God all the way back here in the wilderness when he
- 10:09had the tent of meeting Bill and he told them how he would be
- 10:13worshipped and what he would accept as honorable and pleasing
- 10:17and holy worship unto himself. He had the throne room seen in
- 10:22heaven of Revelation 4 on his mind.
- 10:24He had the Lamb that was slain before the foundations of the
- 10:28earth on his mind. He had every single detail of
- 10:32what he was going to do. The masterpiece that he was
- 10:35painting friends, is what was on his mind.
- 10:38And here Aaron is getting to see it.
- 10:40He's getting to go in. He's getting to see the cloud
- 10:44and the manifest presence. He's getting to see the kind of
- 10:47glory of God within that place. Praise God.
- 10:50He's sprinkling the blood of his finger. 7 * 15 And then shall he
- 10:55kill the go to the sin offering that is for for the people, and
- 10:58bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did
- 11:02with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat,
- 11:06and before the mercy seat. 16 And he shall make an atonement
- 11:10for the holy place, because the uncleanness of the children of
- 11:15Israel, and because of the transgressions and all their
- 11:18sins. And so shall he do for the
- 11:20Tabernacle of the congregation that remains among them in the
- 11:24midst of their uncleanness. We could never save ourselves.
- 11:28We can never be good enough to live up to all the requirements
- 11:32of a just and holy God who is perfect in all of his ways.
- 11:36And so he sent his Son Jesus Christ, and Jesus died in our
- 11:39stead, just like this goat did for them, just like this bull
- 11:43did for them. The blood spilled out and it
- 11:45made us act one with a holy God. And when he looks upon us, he
- 11:50will not see any of our sins. He will only see the blood of
- 11:53the Lord Jesus Christ covering us from the top of our head to
- 11:57the bottom of our feet, from our our palms and our backs and our
- 12:00chest. Friends, our face, every part of
- 12:03us, our legs and our arms, every part of us, covered in the blood
- 12:07of the Lord Jesus Christ. We'll have our wedding clothes
- 12:10on. We'll be ready for the supper of
- 12:11the marriage of the Lamb. Friends, I pray that you'll be
- 12:14there. I pray that we'll see each other
- 12:16there. 17 And there shall be no man in the Tabernacle of the
- 12:21congregation when he goes into make an atonement in the holy
- 12:25place, until he comes out and have made an atonement for
- 12:29himself and for his household and for his congregation of
- 12:32Israel. 18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before
- 12:36the Lord, and make an atonement for it, and shall take the blood
- 12:40of the bull and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the
- 12:43horns of the altar round and about.
- 12:45Can you see the whole scene? He was by himself.
- 12:48He's coming back, friends, and when he does, he's going to go
- 12:51to Israel. He's going to go to the Jews,
- 12:54and they're going to see that Jesus is the Messiah.
- 12:56They're going to. Finally he realized that they
- 12:58murdered him and that He is their long-awaited Savior.
- 13:02They are going to put their faith in Him.
- 13:05God's not done with the Jews. Don't get it twisted.
- 13:07Don't think for a second, friends, that God has turned His
- 13:11back on the Jews, because He's not.
- 13:13He's left them in willful disobedience so that the
- 13:17Gentiles can come into the fold, but that's not going to be
- 13:20forever. He's going to go back and he's
- 13:22going to get his brothers, friends and he's going to bring
- 13:26them into the fold. And that is what is referenced
- 13:28here in verse 18, verse 19. And he shall sprinkle of the
- 13:32blood of it with his fingers 7 times and cleanse it and hallow
- 13:36it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
- 13:39He's going to bring them back. He's going to bring them into
- 13:42the fold. They're going to realize that
- 13:44Jesus is the Messiah and the Jews will be there with us
- 13:47forever and ever. They're going to be in the
- 13:49Millennium, friends, and they're going to be in eternity in New
- 13:52Jerusalem. 20 And when he has made an end of reconciling the
- 13:57holy place, in the Tabernacle of the congregation and the altar,
- 14:01he shall bring the live goat. And Aaron shall lay both his
- 14:05hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all
- 14:10the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their
- 14:13transgressions, and all their sins, putting them upon the head
- 14:16of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man
- 14:20into the wilderness. So they would go, and they would
- 14:22confess all their sins on this escape goat.
- 14:25And when the goat got to go out into the wilderness, he was
- 14:28escaped from them, and would signify and symbolize that all
- 14:33their sins were separated from the camp. 22 with the goat shall
- 14:38bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not
- 14:43inhabited, and he shall let the goat into the wilderness. 23 And
- 14:48Aaron shall come into the Tabernacle of the congregation,
- 14:52and shall put off the linen garments which he put on when he
- 14:55went into the holy place, and shall leave them there. 24 And
- 14:59he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put
- 15:02on his garments, and come forth and offer his burnt offering,
- 15:06and the burnt offering of the people, to make an atonement for
- 15:09himself and for the people. 25 And the fat of the sin offering
- 15:13he shall burn on the altar. 26 And he that let go the goat for
- 15:18the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh and
- 15:22water, and afterward come into the camp. 27 And the bull for
- 15:26the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose
- 15:28blood was brought in to make an atonement in the holy place,
- 15:32shall one carry forth outside the camp, and shall burn in the
- 15:36fire their skins and their flesh, and their dung. 28 And he
- 15:39shall burn them and wash their clothes, and bathe his flesh in
- 15:43the water, and afterward he shall come into the camp. 29 And
- 15:48this shall be a statute for ever unto you, that in the seventh
- 15:51month, and on the 10th day of the month, you shall afflict
- 15:55your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be of your own
- 15:58country or stranger, that is journey among you. 30 For on
- 16:03that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse
- 16:08you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.
- 16:11Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
- 16:14And this is yet to be brought back.
- 16:17There is no temple, there is no priestly service there in the
- 16:21land of Israel. But lo and behold, it is coming,
- 16:24and it is being planned, and it is going to be built, friends,
- 16:29and it'll be the very temple that the Antichrist sits in.
- 16:34Just think about it. 31 If it shall be a Sabbath of rest unto
- 16:43you, and you shall afflict your souls by a statute forever. 32
- 16:48And the priest whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall
- 16:51consecrate to minister in the priest office, and his father's
- 16:54stead, shall make an atonement, and shall put on the linen
- 16:57clothes. Even the holy garments of those
- 16:59clothes were not just for Aaron. They were for the lineage of
- 17:04anyone who took that high priest office. 33 And he shall make an
- 17:08atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an
- 17:11atonement for the Tabernacle of the congregation and for the
- 17:14altar, And he shall make an atonement for the priest and for
- 17:17the people of the congregation will end on. 34 And this shall
- 17:21be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for
- 17:25the children of Israel for their sins once a year.
- 17:29And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.
- 17:32So Aaron actually did what Moses had told him that God had told
- 17:37Moses, friends. And you need to know that this
- 17:41scapegoat that is referenced, there are many theories about it
- 17:45and some people say that it was a demonic entity.
- 17:49Some people say it was the place that was called Azazel.
- 17:52But you need to know either way that Jesus Christ is the he has
- 18:00the ability to not only be the goat that was killed, but he
- 18:04also could be the goat that escaped because he took all of
- 18:08our sins as far as the east is from the West.
- 18:12Friends, aren't you amazed by how God thinks of every little
- 18:16detail and all these little pictures, friends, that he put
- 18:19together for the Israelites was to point them to the Lord Jesus
- 18:23Christ. And as we read these words, we
- 18:26are eternally blessed and we are eternally edified by all the
- 18:32little details that God did not leave out.
- 18:35And there are so many little details about all the sacrifices
- 18:38and what is being able to be eaten by the priest and what is
- 18:43not. And it is neat to see that God
- 18:46takes care of the priest who had no farmland and he knew exactly
- 18:50how to make sure they had enough food.
- 18:53God cares about every little detail.
- 18:56That's what you need to understand.
- 18:58And just as it is not weird for us to go to the grocery store
- 19:03and to buy a package of meat that has a barcode on it and we
- 19:07think nothing of it, friends, but you need to know.
- 19:10For the Israelites at this time, this was commonplace.
- 19:13It was not weird, and it was not foreign to them as it is to us.
- 19:17We might get grossed out. We might not understand all the
- 19:20little things that God told them to do, but for them this was
- 19:24commonplace. They were already butchering and
- 19:28they were already slaughtering, and they were already dividing
- 19:31and they were already cooking and draining the blood.
- 19:33They were already doing so many of these things within their own
- 19:37households, in their own places, their tents, and they were doing
- 19:41it and it was commonplace. And this is how they would feed
- 19:44themselves. And God implemented so much of
- 19:47this types and shadows to point them towards the Lord Jesus
- 19:51Christ. And now we can see that he was
- 19:54painting a masterpiece. And you need to know that today
- 19:57the masterpiece that God is painting is within the marriage
- 20:00and marriage is under attack friends, because God's painting
- 20:03a masterpiece of the groom coming back for his bride and
- 20:07how the groom treats the bride. And it is a ministry in and of
- 20:11itself. Marriage is under attack,
- 20:13friends, and you need to know that God's.
- 20:15Painting a beautiful masterpiece, just like he did
- 20:18all the way back here whenever he was painting the masterpiece
- 20:22of Calvary and it all got unravelled and it was showcased
- 20:26that day, 33 AD. But now we can see that God's
- 20:30painting a masterpiece of the groom and the bride.
- 20:32Praise God, Hallelujah. I hope you've been blessed by
- 20:35this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 20:37I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 20:40of you. I love you.
- 20:41We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 20:42God bless you.
