- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dog's podcast, Josh.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: All your host, midweek, looking back now on free agency.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Day two, what did the Browns do?
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: Then we signed a couple of war players.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't been doing anything wild and crazy.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: But we have been attacking the offensive line, specifically, actually, we've only signed one player who's not an offensive lineman.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: So far, so the real...
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: The league year officially kicks off today.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I had a hair floating front of my eyeball there.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: The league year kicks off today.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of these deals obviously Monday, Tuesday, that was that legal tampering period.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: So deals and trades and things that were put in the place.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: or I should say agreed upon we're not putting the place made official until today today's when signings and trades and things like that actually get finalized as the new league year begins we do have a trade to talk about that look like it was going to happen not going to happen anymore so you guys know what I'm talking about there we'll dive into that here toward the end but
- 1:21[SPEAKER_01]: I really just want to do a quick recap of what the Browns did yesterday, what they might do today as the league, your begins and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, before I dive into it, remind you guys, go to join the dogs.com to jump into the discord, join the 24-7 conversations going on about this team, really about everything.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: People in there are just talking about life and
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Other sports, you got calves, you got NASCAR, like there's just all kinds of conversations going on in there.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: But primarily the Browns and with the free agency opening up this week and the draft right around the corner next month to great place to be to connect with other diehard Browns fans.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: From around the world so it's a great online Browns fan community that's join the dogs.com.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's hit it off here with the big one.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, the Browns signed offensive lineman is what I'm gonna call him, Elkton Jenkins from the Green Bay Packers.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: The Packers just released this guy, what was it on Monday?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it was Monday, I get my days all mixed up.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right now, but Monday they released him, yesterday the Browns signed him.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: So what I'm gathering at least,
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't follow every single NFL team.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: I am a Browns podcaster and what I am, what I've been able to read and gather from Elkton Jenkins with the Packers is he failed a physical.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever, however, all that works, and obviously we got to talk about that with Max Cross, be here at the end.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: But failed a physical after breaking his leg last year, put on IR, had surgery, all that kind of stuff.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: He'll be good to go for the season, but that's the second major injury he suffered over seven seasons with the Packers.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: He also torn ACL, I forget which season that was.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was, um...
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: I might have been 2021.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just looking to snap counts here and that was as low as season.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm guessing it was 2021.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was the torn ACL.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: So those are the two big things for Elkton Jenkins.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: But otherwise he has started the vast majority of every game each season.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: Back to 2019 when he was drafted, they took him in the second round out of Mississippi State.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: six would five three eleven he just turned 30 years old so he's a little bit older as well the brown side him to a two year twenty four million dollar contract with twenty million dollars guaranteed.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's been a lot of scuttle butt online about PFF grades and all that kind of stuff for offensive lineman but I got to tell you guys that is really
- 3:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how else to evaluate offensive linemen.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: You can go to ESPN look at run block win rate pass block win rate that kind of stuff.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: But you think about every other position on a football team, you can go look at the deeper metrics and get a good grasp and analyze wide receivers, running backs, quarterbacks.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: I can flip to the defense, and I can do safety's corners, defensive line, and linebackers.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Every position, you can go through all these deeper metrics and stats and numbers and things, and tell a good story about a player.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's really no good evaluation tool for offensive linemen.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: You get the grades offense passwalking and run blocking and then I can look at how many Sacks they've given up how many hits and hurries and that all goes into how many total pressures each line Man has given up.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's passwalking efficiency and all that stuff with those numbers are so There's such a thin line between like a 98 and 99 I don't even know what really is good.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: You can look and see how many penalties a guy has had
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: But other than that, it's really tough to gauge offensive linemen without doing a deep extensive film study, which is not everybody's going to do.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to do it on every single offensive linemen out there.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: So what I can tell you about Elkton Jenkins though, if we're going to look at PFF grades, which I'm going to do, whether you like it or not.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's graded out very well over the course's career.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: Every single season, his offense grade has been, his offense grade I would say is more on the average side is overall offensive grade.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: But his pass blocking grades are superb.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm loving the greens.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's 72, 74, 81, 67, 78, 81, 72.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's done very well in pass protection.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that all goes to the sack number for Elkton Jenkins.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's played seven seasons in the NFL, just nine sacks given up total over his career nine sacks in seven seasons.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely insane.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about it is what's really makes this more impressive about that sack number.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Elkton Jenkins doesn't just play one position.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people are, all of the Browns got their new center.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, maybe he can play center, that's where he played primarily last year.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the only season really that he's played center.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: He played a little bit of center back in 2020 and his second season.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: He started out on 2019 as the left guard, it looks like I'm just going on the snap count here because I thought he played left tack or placed in David Beckettari, but per PFF left guard 1000 snaps as a rookie in 2019, by the way, made the old rookie team.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's made two probals.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is a good player.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit older now, all that kind of stuff got some injury history.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: Not a ton.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's not super extensive.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's got two major injuries in his 7-year career again.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: But again, after seven seasons in the NFL, it's very rare to have a player after that many seasons, not have dealt with injury.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: So it's gonna happen.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: What you don't want to see is then popping up every single year, like Jack Conklin.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we're okay with Elkton Jenkins.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, thousand snaps, left guard, back in 2019, 2020, it looks like he moved or he stayed at left guard, but he did play 300 snaps at center, and then in 2021, maybe this is when he replaced David Beckettari, 495 snaps.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: at left tackle.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: And that was I think that was the year he tore his ACL because I was a shortened season coming back off of that injury though in 2022 played almost a thousand snaps that season 600 at left guard and he played over 300 at right tackle.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: So here we go we got a guy bouncing all over the offensive line.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: 2023 he played all of his snaps over a thousand at the left guard position again in 2024.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: 1,000 snaps at left guard and now in 2025 this past season 500 snaps at center.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a guy again, nine sacks over seven years all across the line.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he'd locked down one position on the offensive line and did it really well.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: He was bouncing around the offensive line and at every spot they put him.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was solid, a very solid player for the Green Bay Packers.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, his overall run blocking grades are decent.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: I will tell you guys that.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're not like top of the league at his position.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: but they're certainly not bad.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: They are certainly not bad.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to go through them on.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, you know, they're in the 60s.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: There's a couple of years where 70 up one year where he's almost at 80, overall in run blocking.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then if you just look game per game last year, he had three games at 85, or I'm sorry, that was past blocking, still really could on that end.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: Run blocking.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: He had two games where he was right at 70,
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: a couple other games where he was in the 60s just one game where he was blow 50 and that's it so and actually that was against the browns.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: That was against that Browns team and that Browns defense in week three, that we just suffocated the packers and actually funny enough I'm seeing it here now he gave up only two sacks all of last season and both of them came week three against the Browns was the only game he gave up a sack and he gave up both of his sacks against the Browns and Cleveland so.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: I like this move for the Browns.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of other stuff.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: We could probably dive into with Elkton Jenkins, but I think that kind of covers the most of it right now.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a solidified starter here.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: This kind of leads into, I got a couple messages here from the website and also a voice mount to play toward the end, but
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: This will lead into the offensive overline, overline.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive line, overhaul that the browns are in the middle of doing right now.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'll mention before I break down that whole perspective, we did re-sign offensive guard, Tevin Jenkins yesterday, so we got Elkton Jenkins and we re-sign Tevin Jenkins, so the Jenkins brothers who, by the way, are not brothers.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: They just happened, both be named Jenkins, but if you guys remember Tevin Jenkins, we signed him last year to a one year, $3 million per week deal type thing, didn't play at all last season.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: up until what was a week 13 is kind of when he started rotating at right guard with white teller.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know there was a lot of speculation on that move by Kevin's defense game, what they were doing, whether it maybe that was coming down from the front office, and it kind of looks like maybe it was because even with Kevin here, doing whatever was going on with white teller, rotating in with Kevin Jenkins, and then of course teller got injured.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: So Jenkins had four starts at right guard all that kind of
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: But now the Browns go out and bring him back, hit sure feels like they were trying to get somewhat of an evaluation of whether or not they wanted to do this during the off season.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: So he's back, Tevin Jenkins, haven't seen the contract details yet.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Those haven't been released as far as I have seen.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I would imagine it's probably just another one-year deal at most, it's probably a two-year deal, would be my guess.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't think it's going to be a big contract at all.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy who's dealt with a ton of injuries.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: in his career.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he played for the bears for his first four seasons.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: He was his their second round pick in 2021, 39th overall.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: So a pretty high pick for this offensive guard out of Oklahoma state, Jenkins six six 320 pounds, 28 years old.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: He, I aside from his rookie season in 2021, where he only played 160 total snaps.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: his PFF grades as rookie season were abysmal after that.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just green across the board, the only time he didn't have a grade in any of the categories, offense, pass blocking, run blocking that wasn't.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: And the lowest he had since then was a 65 in pass blocking a second season.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Everything else has been over 70 or 80.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: aside from last season, his past blocking grade for the Browns was down to a 60 point aid that dropped from 75 point eight the year before in Chicago.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm telling you guys there was something going on with this offensive line last year.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was talking to my dad about this and I said, you cannot tell me that every single offensive line that we had last year,
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Just sucked, just fell off a cliff at the same time in the same season, all at once.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: You've got guys like we're talking, Joel Betonio, all pro pro bowler.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking Ethan Posek, one of the better centers in the league.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking Wyatt Teller, a pro bowler.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking Jack Conklin and these guys, Cornelius Lucas, who we signed to be a swing tech who played very, very well for the Washington Commanders who we just cut because he was no good last year.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's one thing to have a couple offensive linemen not play very well, especially when they're track record is I guess what I should say here the track record is these are very good offensive linemen they have been over the course of their career when all of them just suck at one time all at once there's something else going on and it was the offensive scheme you can't convince me otherwise that we know this from 2023 when the Browns went down and got their butts warped by the Texans in the wild card round.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: The Texans defense knew the place we were going to run.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: They were calling out what we were going to do before we did it.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: If teams were able to predict what Kevin's defense was trying to run back in 2023, when he had Alex van Pelt and other people on the staff to help him.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we saw that really escalate over 2024 and really here in 2025.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: It puts your offensive linemen at a severe disadvantage when the defenders opposite them.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: have a pretty good idea what's coming their way.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: They can get a pretty good first step on you because they're firing out, knowing what you're trying to do.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I will give Tevin Jenkins the benefit of the doubt because overall, like last year, his offense of grade was 77, his run blocking was a 79.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what that grade had out compared to the rest of the players on our team last year.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Probably one of the better ones, if not the best.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's very high for a rum blocking grade.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: So again, gotta keep in mind that a lot of the games a lot of the snaps that we're seeing listed here for PFF and everything for Tevin Jenkins were split snaps.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't playing in the entirety of these games.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: He was rotating with Wyatt Teller.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: But when he was in there,
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely effective compared to what the Rush the offensive line looked like last season.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: So there we go.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the moves that Browns have made yesterday.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: Elkton Jenkins and heaven Jenkins.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: So what that tells me is there are three, maybe four, we'll just say maybe four.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: starting offensive line positions already filled.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely three, definitely three the way the contracts, the way these guys are paid, Titus Howard is paid to be the starting right tackle.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's where he's going to be a starter.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then Zion Johnson was signed and paid to be the starting probably left guard.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then it makes sense if you want him playing left guard, which is where he's primarily played.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Tevin Jenkins here is, you know, slotted in as right guard.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's the maybe for me.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think they probably signed him with the mindset that he's gonna start at right guard, but I wouldn't marker him in.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't pin him in.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll just pencil him in.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Every right guard for the moment.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what else they do in free agency.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what they do in the draft.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: If they go get like a Jennings dunker,
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe he ends up starting a rake.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: I will see what happens.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what they decide to do.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: But the other guy that's guaranteed to be a starter, Elton Jenkins, he was also paid.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing with him, like I mentioned when I was talking about him, can play any position on that offensive line wherever you put him, he's going to hold it down and do a very decent job.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns are getting their veteran lineman in here for sure you've got, you know, I guess Zion Johnson is 26 years old.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a younger veteran with that upside that they're hoping to unlock with Paul Warhop at the offensive line coaching spot.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see it.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's really encouraging at least that they are investing here in the offensive line.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_01]: I do have some reservations just I'm watching.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: I've watched Andrew Barry operate in the offices for six years now.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I guess this is your seven.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: But the first six years.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns always have one or two, maybe three, glaring weak positions on the roster each off season.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: And Andrew Barry historically seems to be able to attack one, glaringly weak position and solidify it.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: He does a good job at that.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: But the other positions that are lacking, I don't know if it's like, I don't know if Nick Collect is the right word, they kind of get neglected or just forgot about, or there's just, I mean, can't invest heavily at every position you need.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: But you see now through two days of free agency, we've signed, what, three?
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: We've signed three and traded for one, the other week, offensive linemen.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: We signed one defense of player.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, we've signed one player who's not.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: an offensive lineman and it was Quincy Williams at the linebacker position.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is partnered with Kaoshi.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Browns fans are you ready to put your money where your predictions are, with Kaoshi, America's number one regulated prediction market you can legally trade on events that actually matter to you.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the best part is you don't need to predict specific stat lines and compile a seven-like parlay just to win big.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: With Kaoshi the objective is either yes or no.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Will Shidorah Sanders be the Browns week one starting quarterback?
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: Will Fernando Mendoza be the first overall pick in the draft?
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Will the Browns make their pick at six or will they trade out of that spot?
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: And in other sports, will the calves win the NBA Finals?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: You can put your money on these predictions and more with CalShe if you want to try it out.

- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: all your athletic gear, bought and started out perfecting and manufacturing the best balls in the business.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: And if that sounded dirty, that's more about your mind than my words, but hey, it's true.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Baseball softballs, footballs, basketballs, volleyball soccer balls, you name it, and bought and has engineered the highest standard sports balls available.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: And now they offer more than just sports balls.

- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: is one sport that I hear everyone is playing and yet I still never have and I need to fix that soon.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: But don't miss the backyard game section of Bodden's website where you can order everything you need for this upcoming outdoor season, pool walls, backyard volleyball, nets, croquet, bachi, horseshoes, cornhole, and more.

- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: This season, bought in sports.com slash dogs.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: So that leaves the other major offensive need position still very much open and unattended to.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why I received your cell.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me think there's a good chance, or at least a decent chance we're going to do a wider receiver at six, maybe trade back a little bit.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: There should be some investment in that freaking position in the draft.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: I would hope to God because we need it.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously we are not attacking.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: the top free agent wider severs because you got like Alec Pierce went for 28.5 million dollars over a four year deal that was what it was worth per year back to the cults.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just to run through some of these guys, one-dale Robinson, 17.5 million a year.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: Romeo Dobs, $17 million a year.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: Browns aren't paying Romeo Dobs.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: If you watch the free interesting breakdown and broke down why, he's just not gonna be worth the money.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Rashid Shihi, $17 million a year, Mike Evans, he wasn't coming here.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, he was going somewhere where he had a chance to win a Super Bowl.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Jalen Nagler a guy that I liked potentially for the Browns went for almost $12 million per year.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, wider severs, and you can't get them in free agency.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the place to find wider severs.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's the place where you're going to overpay for a wider receiver to at best.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: Wide receiver threes.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's exactly what we saw happen in free agency so far.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what the Browns have done again.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: By the time you guys are watching this, we may have made some other moves.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe had some other signings.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Both days so far to kick off free agency.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's been really a slow burn.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of sitting there, scrolling, refreshing Twitter, like,
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: We make a couple signings here and there and we are slowly but surely filling out this offensive line first and foremost.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: I do anticipate them to sign.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: We need a corner back added to this roster.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: We need another edge russure added to this roster.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they go after a wide receiver in for agency.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even really know who's available that I would, you know, let me just pull this up real quick.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_01]: If there's anybody out there, I'd be interested in, I think the more likely option at wide receiver is that they're going to trade for somebody.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's what Andrew Barry likes to do at receiver, and that's what he has done, so that's what all the smoke and rumors are about right now is how he's looking into these wide receiver trades.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: We're all hoping for the big splash, like the Marvin Harrison Jr., the Brian Thomas Jr.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: It might be Rashad Bateman from the Ravens.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's very hard to acquire these players.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm seeing that I don't think that's probably going to happen for one of those bigger name guys.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: So as far as the wide receiver market goes, your top end right now is like Joann Jennings, Debo Samuel, Tyreke Hill, as far as like the projected average annual value of their salaries.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you'd break down into Darno Mooney, Keenan Allen, Marquis Brown, Christian Kirk,
- 23:01[SPEAKER_01]: there's Calvin Austin, Jalen Tolberr, and then you just get into a bunch of names where it's like, I don't care.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: So they're going to have to do either make a trade and or draft these wider severs to get them on the roster for this season.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what we should be looking for.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: As the week continues with the new league year opening up, I want to read this.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: Message real quick from Kane over in Ireland he says what's up dogs little tidbit here before the question I was walking back from the supermarket here in Dublin and as I got near my house I hear a voice saying excuse me and I thought it might be somebody looking for distractions, but I'm sorry looking for directions
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: But it was a young woman in the question I asked was, are you a Browns fan?
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: I had my Browns hat on and she was very excited to see a Browns fan in Ireland.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: Must not be too many of us.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: She was going to call her family and say, she spotted one of us out in the wild.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now onto my question, playing a little devil's advocate, do you think the Browns still hold out hope for DeWan Jones?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Given that he trimmed the weight last season and the third season ending injury was more of a freak one,
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Giving it was a low hit and with the O line for agency pickups do we think they start with Jones at left tackle with the plans to draft They left tackle to take over During the season go dogs got a lot of the go dogs there at the end.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the question cane No, first of all, it's awesome that you it's awesome to have Browns.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: I love hearing from Browns fans all over the world This is fantastic and I'm glad that you you spotted another one there in the wild of Ireland, but
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's one Jones, to me, man, and the thing is, you guys know, I love Big Thanos.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a cool dude.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love the potential.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: I love, I mean, six foot eight, like 370, some pounds, like the dudes are freaking human mountain.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he's got that basketball background, like he can go end to end on the court and dunk and I mean, he's athletic.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I hate to say it, but he just kind of feels like a loss cause and I know I hear what you're saying that last year's season ending injury was a fluke because it was a low hit.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: But you got guys like Jack Conklin, who are hurt every single year in the injury that took him out in 2023.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: That week, one during the Bengals game, where DeWan Jones as a rookie came in, then to play right tackle the rest season until he got hurt.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: That was a fluke injury to Jack Conklin as well where he got rolled up on.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was, it was either by Jed Wills or the guy Jed Wills failed to block.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: I forget how it happened, but it was one of those deals as well.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: But once you have this history of every year, your hurt, one way or another, really hard to get away from that, we just know that's how it goes.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is the last year of his rookie deal.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's never played a full season like,
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: I've said it all along and I'm going to keep saying it, if the browns and Blake said this last year, if the plan is to go into the season with the Juan Jones is one of your starting tackles, you are setting yourself up for failure.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if like you suggest here, they draft Monroe Freeling at pick six or they trade back to 10 or 12 or whatever and still get Freeling.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: And they decide they want to start with DeWan Jones at Left Tackle, while Freelyling gets a little more acclimated and maybe some NFL practice reps and strength conditioning and things under his belt.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you know, he's only started what 15, 16 games and college.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: I forget with the numbers 14, one season as the starter and college at Left Tackle for Freelyling.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was a good season for him, but only one and maybe he just needs a little more time to get up the speed.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: Starting out the season and then Freeling would be the guy to eventually take over.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm with you on that, but to go into the season with the Juan Jones just You know, slotted in as the left tackle and then I hope everything goes well.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: No, that they can't do that again That would be a terrible mistake.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where I stand on Mr. De Juan Jones, but thank you, Caine for the email and now I didn't even tease this
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: at the top of the show, but I got a message from our boy, Vinty.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll read this message here from Vinty.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know you guys love hearing from him.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: He loves messaging in.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then I got a voice mail to plan.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: We'll wrap this thing up for today and see what the Browns do over the course of the rest of the week here.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: But Vinty says, I still have Tate and Lemon as my top two wider severs.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: I do too, Vinty.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: He says, but I have been getting higher and higher on Boston.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I do like Denzel Boston.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: I still think I probably have a Mark Cooper right now.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: I had a Boston after everything that I've done.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, I like both those players.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Casey Concepts he owned could be a good one too in the first round, toward the end of the first round.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: He says I've never been big, oh.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: Look at that, right into what I was just saying, Vinti says I have never been big on conception, but now or and I have absolutely no interest in conception.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: I heard both Boston and conception get interviews.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: on pro football talk in the last couple of weeks and after that, I am even more interested in Boston and completely out on concepts you on there was a clear and massive difference in their intelligence level as concepts you on struggle to produce coherent sentences.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: He sounded similar to the genius that calls in to say, F. Vinty.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: That was Adam.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I had the mental and verbal acuity to come up with an argument as clever and convincing as F. Vinty, but I guess that kind of brilliance proves me wrong and wins the debate.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: If Concepcion is coming off that badly, in his team interviews he is going to fall in the draft big time, after listening to that interview, I wouldn't trust Concepcion to let me know if water was wet much less draft him as a top receiver.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be very interested to see what happens with him in the draft, but I definitely hope the Browns avoid him completely.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: All right, first of all, Vinci, I haven't why didn't watch all of his interviews to like gauge what he actually said, the words he said in his answers.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I will tell you and remind everybody out there who doesn't know Casey Conception does struggle with his speech.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: He has a stutter problem, he has a speech impediment.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're basing his perceived intelligence level
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: you can't really do that because he struggles with his speech.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: So there is an issue there.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't necessarily mean he's dumb.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: It just means he's struggle speaking and there's a lot of people out there that have that.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: So no, I still think that KC conception has a very, I mean, his, his production profile from colleges.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: excellent and the only real issue with him was a high drop rate and that might be enough to take him off the board for some browns fans obviously because we've already got Jerry Judy, right?
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that's also why didn't want Romeo dobs because I don't need two of those.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I still like case he concepts the only be much more interesting to me if we were able to get him at like 39 or if we had to move up to like, you know, 35 or something to snag him if that was a guy, the prounds identified, but we'll see how that goes.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: He's got one more thing here.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: Venti does he says sadly, the more I hear about this tackle class, the more I think Barry is going to reach for a tackle at six.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: and pass on wide receiver until 24.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: I still don't think any of these O-Lime and are worth the top 10 pick, but I think there will be a run on tackles in the middle of the first round.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: I sure as hell hope Boston is still there at 24.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know what would the Pittsburgh Steelers trading for?
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Pittman Jr. from the Colts and a lot of mock drafts had a wide receiver usually Denzel Boston projected to go to the Steelers at 21 that kind of takes them out of the
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a strong chance Boston's there 24.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think there might be a chance Jordan Tyson's there at 24.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: Or late teens, maybe right around the 20 range.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think some of these wide, I think Tate and Lemon will definitely go top 15, but I think after that, you're gonna see wide receivers, maybe fall a little bit more toward the back end of that first round in the 20s area.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how that actually shakes out, but that's kind of the vibe I'm getting right now.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the tackle class, as far as like the top end talent at the tackle position in this class isn't great.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think Maui Noah is probably worth the top 10 pick.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're gunning for left tackle and you don't think you can trade back and still get this guy or you just can't trade back at all because nobody's interested in moving up.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: And they might take freeling at six and would that be a reach maybe?
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, but, man does the guy have a freaking high ceiling and potential.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: I just, yeah, I like it, I like Monroe Freelyling, but I'm with Yavinti, actually.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: I do agree, I think that the lack of top end potential at the tackle position in this class will force teams and the Browns could be one of them depending on what we do, keep doing here in 4HC, but we could reach for a tackle.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: It might end up being a bad move, it might end up being a good move.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: We'll just kind of have to wait and see how that goes.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: But thank you, Vinti.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: for the message I always enjoy having conversations here on the show with you.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: So let's wrap this thing up with a discussion about the Baltimore Ravens real quick.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: We got a voicemail from
- 32:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just kidding.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: I know that would never happen, but I am, I am relishing in this right now because I am just so happy that the ravens don't get their new toy.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: But this does, this does concern me a little bit because we know the ravens will go, they'll go teeth on someone, they'll throw, they'll swing the bat on someone.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_02]: So is it a good or bad thing because
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: There's anyone really else out there that they would go for, but in the end of it all, the Ravens go Browns, well, well, well, all right, Claude, thank you again for the voicemail, always love hearing from you.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: This Max Krauseby situation is hairy, man, and
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: For anybody out there that didn't see the headlines or catch the news or anything yet, the raiders posted on their social media that the ravens are backing out of the deal, the trade deal for defensive end, edge rush or max, cross be, they have no further comment at this time.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what's sent social media into a friendly last night.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then you had,
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Ian Rappaport and Tom Pelacero and Diana Rucini and all of the, you know, all the insiders in the NFL start posting things about, well, hang on a second, Max Cross B failed us physical with the Ravens so they decided to back out the trade.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're getting their two first round picks back.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: So if you remember, they gave up their 2026 first round pick, which was number 14 overall to the Raiders as well as their 2027 first round pick to get Max Cross B.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, okay, well, he failed his physical.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then you see like his agent and his surgeon, because if you know or remember, he had a surgical procedure to repair his meniscus and I forget which knee in the off season here after you heard it last year during the season.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: And by all accounts, like the surgery went well, he's doing his rehab, he's gonna be fine.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: He'll be good to go for the season.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: But when these guys go to the new team that they're being traded to and they do the physical check and the medical check and then they don't pass it, whatever that means.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I think there's more to this.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then simply saying, oh, we failed as physical.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean you can't play.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's from what I understand failing the physical just means a team has a threshold for the risk that they're willing to take on with a player.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: And when you're trading
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: your risk threshold is a whole lot lower.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there's a lot of speculation that the Ravens are kind of doing a dirty job here.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna see how things go and how they play out here in free agency, but Tray Henderson, Adressor from the Bengals is obviously a free agent and available.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: there's some speculation I'm not saying this is what happened okay as much as I hate the rat birds and I hate everything to do with them.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: There is speculation that maybe they saw the let's call a quote unquote failed physical as an opportunity to get those two first round picks back because they want to go after tray Hendrickson and they'd rather just pay him a contract keep their first round picks and move forward with him versus Max Crosby and giving up to first
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's an interesting situation.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's something to monitor, and like I said, I don't have all the details.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think things are still unfolding.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's kind of like a 72 hour roll with these type things.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: Let's let all the details come out before we jump to drastic conclusions.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: But it is very interesting to see what is going on right now with the ravens and the max cross betrayed.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously the raiders have gone out assuming that Max Crosby was gone and off their books and that they had this 14th overall pick and signed a bunch of free agents to some high contracts.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: Tyler Linderbaum, they gave a record-breaking $27 million contract or $27 million a year contract.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they've done some work.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_01]: in free agency.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: So they're still reaching out to teams.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: The other teams that were interested in Max Crosby to try to get a deal done and get him moved.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_01]: But it is wild.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: This whole situation is crazy.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: And again, once I get more details, once more information comes out, we will talk about it.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: We'll discuss it here on the show.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: But that's kind of the scoop on what's going on right now with the Ravens and Max Crosby.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys and your voice mails are messages even you venti even you I appreciate it because look at that man I know you called me an idiot and a moron for like the first two or three messages But we're really on the same way of laying through a man We are agreeing on a lot of things and seeing it the same way so that's pretty cool But again, if you guys don't agree with anything I said feel free drop it in the comments drop me a voice mail message Tell me what you don't agree with and tell me why I am
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: By no means do I think I am 100% right about everything.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I got my opinion to my takes and stuff, but I don't mind seeing a different point of view and trying to have an open mind about what it is you're thinking.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: So let me know those things as well.
