- 1:50Speaker 2: harmony Mysteries Buried at Sea with a synopsis. I have
- 1:53Speaker 2: a question for you.
- 1:54Speaker 1: First, Okay, do you feel like Hallmark promoted.
- 1:57Speaker 2: This movie enough? I don't know that I saw any promotion.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It's same same.
- 2:05Speaker 2: We're so deep into Christmas now, Yes, it's hard, it's well.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I feel like haul Out the Halloween was pretty highly promoted,
- 2:14Speaker 2: and then we're launching into Christmas and it's all the
- 2:16Speaker 2: Christmas activities, so I think it's a rough window.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder why they did that. Maybe they just
- 2:23Speaker 1: had to get this movie out before the end of
- 2:25Speaker 1: the year.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I think there are some who would say that Hallmark
- 2:29Speaker 2: doesn't give mysteries their due.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think that's unfair, especially if they're showing them on
- 2:34Speaker 1: the main Hardwork channel when it was on the Mystery Channel.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I can see why they wouldn't promote it over there
- 2:42Speaker 1: so much. But I think it's unfortunate.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I don't disagree all right.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Our favorite music teacher, get Semny is back again along
- 2:51Speaker 3: with her trusted ghost friend Emon, to solve the unexplained
- 2:56Speaker 3: death of a sea captain.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I think it's Damon.
- 3:02Speaker 1: And bring on Christmas already.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Linda Lisa Hater directed Buried at Sea and previously directed
- 3:09Speaker 2: Murder in g Major. She's also set to direct the
- 3:12Speaker 2: upcoming tidings for the season, starring Bjay Britt and Tamaram
- 3:15Speaker 2: ray Housley.
- 3:17Speaker 1: The screenplay was written by Craig Whenman. Craig also wrote
- 3:21Speaker 1: a screenplay for Murder in g Major. His other work
- 3:24Speaker 1: includes Crime Time, Free Fall, and several garage sale mystery movies.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Haunted Harmony Mysteries. Buried at Sea was adapted from the
- 3:32Speaker 2: geth Sementy Brown mystery series from author Alexia Gordon. I'm
- 3:36Speaker 2: actually interested to read that Maramo ray Housley returns as Gethsemonee.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Tamara has forty acting credits and will co star in
- 3:42Speaker 2: tidings for the season, as well as host Baked with
- 3:46Speaker 2: Love Holiday, an unscripted series that will air on Hallmark
- 3:49Speaker 2: Channel this season. Side note, I do feel like I'm
- 3:51Speaker 2: seeing promo for that one. She is going to be
- 3:54Speaker 2: on the network a lot this season.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'm excited for her me too. Marco Cursini stars as Grip.
- 4:00Speaker 1: He's been keeping busy with his role on Virgin River
- 4:04Speaker 1: and was last seen on Hallmark in Christmas Under the Lights. Yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I don't think he is tapped to a Christmas movie
- 4:11Speaker 1: the year.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Ristard Cooper returns as Aiman outside of Murder in G Major.
- 4:16Speaker 2: This is one of his few appearances in a Hallmark movie.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Adam Fergus plays Inspector O'Reilly. Murder in G Major was
- 4:24Speaker 2: the last time we saw Adam, but he's been busy
- 4:26Speaker 2: on a Norwegian series called State of Happiness. Robert Mitchell
- 4:31Speaker 2: plays brother Jackson. Robert has twenty four acting credits, and
- 4:33Speaker 2: while this is his first role on Hallmark, he has
- 4:36Speaker 2: appeared in Gray's Anatomy, The Middle and Conversations with Friends.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Haunted Harmony Mysteries Buried at Sea was filmed in Ireland,
- 4:44Speaker 1: primarily in and around Dublin and the scenic county of Wicklow.
- 4:50Speaker 2: We're going to take a quick break and come right
- 4:51Speaker 2: back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what was your
- 5:02Speaker 2: first impression of Haunted Harmony Mysteries Buried at Sea.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna need the Romance department to pick up the tempo.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Oh nice, nice. Mine is remember with Emily in Call
- 5:17Speaker 2: Out the Halloween, So she didn't like movies that were scary,
- 5:20Speaker 2: even movies that didn't think they were scary but were
- 5:24Speaker 2: actually scary. This is my kind of friendly ghost.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Oh.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I was like, you thought this was scary?
- 5:29Speaker 1: No, I needed it to be more scary.
- 5:33Speaker 2: What did you like about this movie?
- 5:35Speaker 1: Really into the ghost whisperer of it all? Do?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah? Me too.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I really liked that series with Jennifer love Hewitt. I
- 5:44Speaker 1: wish it was that creepy at all some some for me.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I think you could watch it knowing like this was
- 5:52Speaker 1: on network TV. It's not going to.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Be that scary. I just don't like jump scares.
- 5:56Speaker 1: There's some of that, but not.
- 5:58Speaker 2: All the time. Okay. It was mostly just like.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Stories unfolding about like why the ghost was still there,
- 6:05Speaker 1: et cetera, et cetera.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I wish that.
- 6:08Speaker 1: This movie franchise would lean into that more. I don't
- 6:14Speaker 1: I don't care about like figuring out the murder, Like,
- 6:17Speaker 1: let's make it more of like about the ghost's purpose. Yes, exactly.
- 6:21Speaker 1: That's why I think it's that's what that's what it's
- 6:23Speaker 1: missing for me. Okay, I think it'd be a really
- 6:27Speaker 1: compelling series.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree to watch. I agree. There was a
- 6:32Speaker 2: series on network television recently and I can't think of
- 6:35Speaker 2: a single person. The actress who was in Jane the
- 6:38Speaker 2: Virgin starred in it, and she's a reporter who wrote
- 6:42Speaker 2: obituaries and the people she was.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Writing about their ghosts would come.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Back to them. Actually, really like the series. Can't think
- 6:47Speaker 2: of what it's called for anybody who's in it. One season,
- 6:50Speaker 2: maybe two. It probably just one, honestly, And uh, I
- 6:54Speaker 2: really like that series anyway. And that was a comedy.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But the idea.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Remains, well, they could definitely make it a comedy. Well,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm not suggesting that they should change direction with this
- 7:05Speaker 1: series at all.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm just another idea. Yeah, yeah, well here, I think
- 7:11Speaker 2: it was a really good idea. It's been two years
- 7:13Speaker 2: since we had an installment of Haunted Harmony Mysteries, and
- 7:15Speaker 2: I remember enjoying that but didn't remember a lot about it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And I'm glad they reminded us of the bones of
- 7:21Speaker 2: the series. Right up top, we're reminded that Griff and
- 7:24Speaker 2: Inspector O'Reilly are both vying for the romantic attention of Gathsemony,
- 7:29Speaker 2: and we are also reminded of even the friendly Ghost
- 7:32Speaker 2: and his connection to Gathsemony right up top. Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I appreciated that with the McCarthy days thing that they
- 7:38Speaker 1: did all at the beginning. Yeah, yeah, like what the
- 7:41Speaker 1: situation was with the ghost and et cetera.
- 7:43Speaker 2: If these series are going to refuse to do it previously,
- 7:47Speaker 2: on which I think they would be well served to do.
- 7:51Speaker 2: This did a nice job of hitting those notes. And
- 7:54Speaker 2: they've filmed the third movie, so hopefully we'll get that
- 7:57Speaker 2: sooner than later. Early twenty twenty six would be my hope.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Who knows? Who knows? With mysteries.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I really enjoyed guest Semone and Amon Emon Megan Amen
- 8:11Speaker 1: Amen shaking her head at me. They have fantastic rapport,
- 8:15Speaker 1: lots of fun, quippy remarks towards each other.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Throwing it back to yesterday. Amen has the rapport with
- 8:25Speaker 2: Guessemone that Hector did not have the driver with Annie.
- 8:30Speaker 2: What you're saying to me, I didn't like Amon's vibe
- 8:33Speaker 2: more than Hector I did.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he wasn't like watching her creepyly through the mirror.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I think he's a ghost who shows up in her house.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I don't find him creepy either. I really like him.
- 8:43Speaker 2: It was a silly connection.
- 8:46Speaker 1: He's great to me. He gives real not even like
- 8:50Speaker 1: is he like her dad's Is he supposed to be
- 8:52Speaker 1: like her dad's age.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It seems kind of like that to me. But it's
- 8:57Speaker 2: a very paternal vibe to me.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I enjoy her dad has passed so right, they
- 9:03Speaker 1: have any ease with each other that I enjoy, And
- 9:06Speaker 1: I don't know if it's just I don't remember it
- 9:08Speaker 1: being such a standout in the first movie though It's
- 9:11Speaker 1: been a long time since I'd seen it. But I
- 9:13Speaker 1: did enjoy like their banter.
- 9:15Speaker 2: We have a lot of parallel family stories in this
- 9:18Speaker 2: It's a lot of fathers and daughters. We have obviously
- 9:21Speaker 2: Getsmenie and Jackson's dad, and then we have Shannon's dad
- 9:25Speaker 2: who's murdered and she's trying to solve that. And then
- 9:27Speaker 2: we have the daughter trying to reclaim the violin for
- 9:29Speaker 2: her family. I like that we get it's a lot
- 9:32Speaker 2: a lot of family drama in this movie.
- 9:35Speaker 1: You liked all that it did it made it layered.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I agree with that. I do have a wish that
- 9:42Speaker 1: kind of works into that a little bit. But to
- 9:46Speaker 1: piggyback off that, I did like the addition of brother
- 9:49Speaker 1: Jackson in this. I like that she's not just talking
- 9:53Speaker 1: to a ghost, like, she has like a counterbalance here, right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: They got to give her somebody she doesn't have, like
- 9:58Speaker 1: the best friend or like the whatever, exactly. But I
- 10:02Speaker 1: like that there was a family connection there. And I
- 10:08Speaker 1: really like that scene where they sing together.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 1: I don't have we ever heard her sing before?
- 10:14Speaker 2: I don't know, but she was great.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah that she was great. Yeah, I really enjoyed that scene.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And I wonder he's probably gonna be short, like he's
- 10:23Speaker 1: not gonna return.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, but no, that was nice. She
- 10:28Speaker 2: does need someone else who's not invisible, who she can
- 10:30Speaker 2: talk to in public exactly without looking a little wacky exactly.
- 10:34Speaker 2: So I think this is a good spooky season show
- 10:36Speaker 2: without being spooky. It has the vibes, you know, it's
- 10:40Speaker 2: dark and it's moody, and it involves a ghost, but
- 10:43Speaker 2: it's not scary For someone like me who doesn't want
- 10:45Speaker 2: to watch a scary movie. It's not scary. I want scary.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I understand that, but some of us are babies.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I don't even want scary. I want like a little
- 10:58Speaker 1: more thrilling. This was like Mystery Light to me. Yeah,
- 11:03Speaker 1: but I get that there's an audience for it.
- 11:08Speaker 2: What exactly were you thinking given that we've never gotten
- 11:12Speaker 2: a Hallmark thriller?
- 11:14Speaker 1: Look, I have watched some Mystery one on ones that
- 11:16Speaker 1: had me that's true, A little like that's true. What's
- 11:23Speaker 1: the word I'm looking for here? On edge on edge
- 11:26Speaker 1: is sure?
- 11:27Speaker 2: Perfect? Yeah, that's true. I think Mystery one on one
- 11:31Speaker 2: of the of the series we've seen, probably does the
- 11:33Speaker 2: best job of being a little scary.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Private Eye, I know, not technically Hallmark, but not
- 11:39Speaker 1: even scary thrilling.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Oh that's another one that I forgot about, but I
- 11:44Speaker 2: would like to try.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And watch, like, not scary thrilling. That's a very like procedural,
- 11:50Speaker 1: that's like a very network TV like, not scary at all.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I've been trying to find new series.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Oh have you?
- 11:57Speaker 2: I went back to Grey's Anatomy.
- 11:59Speaker 1: What there's like thirty years of that.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Twenty two seasons. They're currently in season twenty two. I
- 12:05Speaker 2: watched through I don't know, maybe sixteen whatever the COVID
- 12:08Speaker 2: season was. Oh, and then I had been seeing all
- 12:11Speaker 2: of the previews and I was like, oh, I kind
- 12:12Speaker 2: of would like to go back and watch. And so
- 12:14Speaker 2: I decided, since season twenty two just started, I said,
- 12:17Speaker 2: I'm going to go back and watch season twenty one.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I don't care about any of these people. Oh really,
- 12:21Speaker 2: So I'm not sure that I want to keep going.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'm hoping the Pit returns like in January.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so I need another series to just sit down
- 12:30Speaker 2: and watch and watch and watch, so we'll see what's next.
- 12:33Speaker 2: You talked about her brother. I thought it was nice
- 12:35Speaker 2: that she got to bring him in on her being
- 12:38Speaker 2: a bit of a ghost whisperer, and because they had
- 12:41Speaker 2: that connection with her dad being able to communicate with spirits,
- 12:46Speaker 2: it wasn't so difficult for him to believe right, which
- 12:49Speaker 2: I liked. I wasn't like trying to convince him. And
- 12:53Speaker 2: I like that aim and plays like a quick little
- 12:54Speaker 2: note on the piano to let him in that he's there.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Thought that was really sweet. I also like the line
- 12:59Speaker 2: the meaning of life life is to find your gift,
- 13:01Speaker 2: and the purpose of life is to give it away.
- 13:03Speaker 1: So did I. I thought that was Yeah, that got me,
- 13:08Speaker 1: That got me.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it. It made me.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It honestly made me stop, and I was like, what
- 13:14Speaker 1: is my gift?
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I do mean to give it away?
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah I can't. I can't poke it. That bruise for
- 13:21Speaker 2: too long.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, finally we talked about it, just as briefly. But
- 13:27Speaker 1: I did like the scene where they're having people reacting
- 13:31Speaker 1: to her, like talking to essentially nobody, but it's totally
- 13:36Speaker 1: not that in common was like AirPods. Have you ever
- 13:39Speaker 1: like seen somebody and you're like, oh, they're actually on
- 13:41Speaker 1: the phone, like they're talking said to somebody where they
- 13:43Speaker 1: just look like they're.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Like, yes, that does segue a little bit into my wishes.
- 13:47Speaker 1: But yes, all right, let's talk wishes then.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Okay. So I am always bothered by characters reacting to
- 13:53Speaker 2: the ghosts that nobody else can see right in front
- 13:54Speaker 2: of others. And finally, in this movie, like you said,
- 13:57Speaker 2: we did get people going like what's happening there? But
- 14:01Speaker 2: there is a moment on the boat before that jump scare. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 2: she's having a whole conversation with him. Yeah, and I'm
- 14:10Speaker 2: like that dude who just ran off that boat was
- 14:13Speaker 2: probably like who the hell is this chick talking to?
- 14:16Speaker 2: Totally but that was the scariest moment. I did genuinely
- 14:20Speaker 2: jump when that person came busted out of that boat.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I mean I should have seen it coming, but I jumped.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Totally scary.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But you're right, from the pov of that person who's
- 14:29Speaker 1: hiding on the boat wouldn't even be like, what the
- 14:31Speaker 1: hell is going on outside? Who is this lady talking to?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:36Speaker 1: That's interesting, that's interesting. My biggest wish is if I
- 14:42Speaker 1: guess seventy can talk to the dead boat captain, why
- 14:46Speaker 1: can't she talk to Ray and find out who killed him?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Because I don't think all the ghosts come back, I know,
- 14:52Speaker 2: but only ghosts that have a purpose, okay, unfinished business,
- 14:57Speaker 2: and that boat captain's unfinished business was to keep the
- 15:00Speaker 2: person from getting shot apparently at the very end, yeah
- 15:03Speaker 2: his daughter, Oh yeah, okay, So this is my next wish.
- 15:08Speaker 2: All these brunette Irish dudes kind of blend together. I
- 15:12Speaker 2: don't you know when you watch The Great British Bake Off.
- 15:16Speaker 2: For me, if I turn on The Great British Bakeoff,
- 15:18Speaker 2: it's like an ambient. It just washes over me and
- 15:21Speaker 2: puts me straight to sleep. I have no idea what
- 15:23Speaker 2: happens on that show. I have no idea who's any
- 15:25Speaker 2: good on that show. I could not tell you what
- 15:27Speaker 2: they make. It just washes over me and puts me
- 15:30Speaker 2: right to sleep. Sometimes these mysteries are like that. Especially
- 15:33Speaker 2: this is a real cozy mystery, yes, and the coziness
- 15:36Speaker 2: just kind of washes over me, and I go, I
- 15:38Speaker 2: don't really know what happens. I don't like. These people
- 15:42Speaker 2: kept coming on screen, and I'm like, who's that brunette
- 15:44Speaker 2: Irish dude. Who's that brunette Irish dude? Okay, they all
- 15:48Speaker 2: kind of look like Inspector O'Reilly too. Yeah, I'm like,
- 15:50Speaker 2: that's not Inspector O'Riley. What's he doing? That's a me problem,
- 15:54Speaker 2: but very soothing. I agree with you.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I kind of lost my way towards the end of
- 16:00Speaker 1: this movie too, because I was like, when you.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Just said his daughter, I was like, huh, that's why
- 16:06Speaker 2: it was important any savor. But there were a.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Lot of suspects. There's a lot of leads that these
- 16:15Speaker 1: people were writing down. There was a lot of characters
- 16:17Speaker 1: who everybody kind of all appears the same right I
- 16:24Speaker 1: agree with you. I agree with you.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I have a question.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Okay, Team Inspector O'Reilly or Team griff A team I
- 16:32Speaker 1: don't even care. That's my next wish. I need more
- 16:35Speaker 1: of a love triangle. I need.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Look.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I know Providence Falls wasn't everybody's cup of tea, but.
- 16:42Speaker 2: You're missing out. Rewatch it, go back and try it again.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yes, but I need a love triangle. I need somebody
- 16:48Speaker 1: to root for. We have the love triangle. I just
- 16:50Speaker 1: don't care enough about either guy being with her interesting.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I really don't like not one is like better than
- 16:59Speaker 1: the the other, Like they're both two good options. Mmm,
- 17:04Speaker 1: they're both handsome, So I need more tension between the
- 17:08Speaker 1: three of them.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I think we talked about this in our first review,
- 17:11Speaker 2: and I can't remember who I was in favor of.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Right now, I'm leaning team O'Reilly. Oh yeah, tell me why.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I just feel like the vibe is there more. I
- 17:20Speaker 2: don't know that weird metronome scene. I was like, what
- 17:23Speaker 2: is happening? How are they supposed to know? And the
- 17:25Speaker 2: throw I didn't understand it. She's like, you'll know, you'll
- 17:28Speaker 2: feel the vibe, you'll know when the throw is coming
- 17:30Speaker 2: by listening to the metronome, and I was like, I
- 17:32Speaker 2: don't have it. Is it that scene? Yeah? Okay, either
- 17:37Speaker 2: I don't know music or I don't know sports, because
- 17:40Speaker 2: I couldn't figure out how that was going to work.
- 17:42Speaker 2: I just I ay was getting stronger vibes from Inspector
- 17:45Speaker 2: O'Reilly in this movie. I don't know Griff. I was like, look,
- 17:49Speaker 2: I love Marco Grizzini, and it seems like it's gonna
- 17:52Speaker 2: be Marcro Grazini because he's like the Hallmark guy, right,
- 17:56Speaker 2: he's the name m hmm, Like we don't hear starring
- 17:59Speaker 2: to Maury Housley, Marco Berzzini and Adam Fergus. Adam Fergus. Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 2: so I think I'm wrong, Like is he the what's
- 18:10Speaker 2: the dentist's name in Murder She Baked? Tannis Winson, Oh,
- 18:15Speaker 2: Martin Norman Norman He's yeah. I feel like perhaps Inspector
- 18:21Speaker 2: o'reiley is supposed to be the Norman of the duo,
- 18:24Speaker 2: but currently I'm rooting for him.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Interesting, I could it could go either way for me,
- 18:31Speaker 1: mm hmm, it could go either way for me. I
- 18:34Speaker 1: already talked about too many suspects. I kind of tapped
- 18:37Speaker 1: out halfway through. I didn't dislike it the movie at all.
- 18:41Speaker 1: No me either, like it wrapped up in a way
- 18:44Speaker 1: that I needed it too, in a very cozy, non
- 18:48Speaker 1: scary way.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Sure, how about did you see that?
- 18:51Speaker 1: I have one? They have like a I don't even
- 18:53Speaker 1: know if it's a murder board, but there is a
- 18:55Speaker 1: they have a they're looking at a photo of the
- 18:57Speaker 1: person who ran out, who had a hoodie on mm hmm.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And then the word hoodie is spelled on the written
- 19:05Speaker 1: on the photo, but it's spelled h oo d y.
- 19:08Speaker 1: That is not how I spell hoodie like a hoodie sweater.
- 19:11Speaker 2: No, that is not how I spell hoodie either. Yeah,
- 19:13Speaker 2: I just thought it was interesting. Then it's interesting. My
- 19:16Speaker 2: did you see that?
- 19:17Speaker 3: Is?
- 19:17Speaker 2: If you have a supposedly priceless artifact on an exposed
- 19:22Speaker 2: fishing boat at night, are you going to open it
- 19:25Speaker 2: and expose it to sea, air and water? I don't know,
- 19:29Speaker 2: seems seems like a bad idea. Yeah, I did. In fact,
- 19:32Speaker 2: it was from the freaking Titanic.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Well, I did see some somebody wrote an IMDb that
- 19:37Speaker 1: there was a there was an error in.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Dates ah here.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I can't remember exactly what they were. It was something
- 19:47Speaker 1: about when the Titanic was and.
