- 0:43She and we are growing. And Speaking of growth, we are
- 0:46here with someone who helped me grow in life, and I'll explain
- 0:48that in a moment with Barry Webber.
- 0:50Welcome to the program. Hi.
- 0:51Welcome. Thank you for having me.
- 0:53I really appreciate you being here, Barry.
- 0:56I don't know if you remember, but I'm sure you get that a lot
- 0:58too. You don't Remember Me.
- 0:59Yeah, I get it all the time. And I'm a guy who don't
- 1:02remember, which is very, very difficult.
- 1:05Probably my most difficult, my most difficult thing when it
- 1:10comes to, you know, being in public, Like, oh, not again.
- 1:13He's challenging me again. Do you Remember Me?
- 1:15I'm like, like, you could be my customer.
- 1:17I could lose a job. It could be somebody who would
- 1:20be offended and so on. And it's like, I just see so
- 1:23many faces every day. And it's, you know, some people
- 1:27have that talent where they're like, picture store it, not me.
- 1:31Right, right. You just play along.
- 1:33You just pretend. Try my best.
- 1:35You don't. Remember, try.
- 1:37Try to remember. You know, you know what the
- 1:39problem is that some people say, what do you mean in real memory?
- 1:42And I start really feeling bad, like, wow.
- 1:44Like it's probably like, I met him yesterday and I forgot.
- 1:46Like I'm like so off and then after 10 minutes schlepping and
- 1:50then he's like, what do you mean?
- 1:52You were like I we met 12 years ago.
- 1:54I'm like, for that I had to feel bad because I met you 12 years
- 1:57ago. Very 10 years ago I met you, I
- 1:59think it was a little more than 10 years ago and it was by Heshi
- 2:03Kleinman's house and we were doing a fundraiser for some
- 2:05organization and we heard a song.
- 2:06We were all chilling, walking around, schmoozing, and there
- 2:08was a there was someone who looked very like, you know, put
- 2:12together with a beautiful voice and we were listening in the
- 2:14background. Suddenly came on a song, Rebine.
- 2:17That's that's when we heard it for the first time years ago.
- 2:20Yeah. It was over 10 years ago when we
- 2:21heard it before you produced, before you came out with it.
- 2:23Before it came out. Yeah.
- 2:24You were singing it before it came out.
- 2:26I think so. Right.
- 2:27Does that make sense? Yeah.
- 2:28So, so we, we all like we stopped what we were doing and
- 2:32it was like magical. And I'll never forget.
- 2:34It was like Naftali Heshi. I tell you, we're all around.
- 2:37What's what's going on here? Suddenly was all quiet and we
- 2:39started moving slowly towards you and we all started getting
- 2:43mesmerized by the song. It was just, I think it was the
- 2:46first time in a very long time that I heard a singer take a
- 2:50song and just play around with it through his neshama.
- 2:53That's what I felt like. And, and it was just, it was
- 2:57such a major connection to me then.
- 2:59And then of course, I started going to wedding after wedding
- 3:01and I and I hear the the most famous.
- 3:03I'm on my way. I'm so curious, before we start,
- 3:08is that something that you coined is something that you
- 3:09picked up on that whole process of I'm on my way?
- 3:12I grew up. My father was a Schlemmer
- 3:15Kalbach fan. I, I, so I grew up listening to
- 3:20his music, although most, I would say probably 95% of my
- 3:25environment felt that it's wrong to listen to his music.
- 3:29I even got once as a kid in 8th grade, I got I, I was punished
- 3:36because I had a like a tape cassette of Schlemmer Kalbach.
- 3:40He brought it. Hey, there was a day trip, but I
- 3:42was like, he listen to his music left back, you know, like he
- 3:45wanted to degrade me. That's terrible.
- 3:51Let's go back a little weird. We could probably think of many
- 3:53worse things in life, right? For a school to reprimand a
- 3:57student because he has a Shlomo Calabra CD, that's like, I mean,
- 4:01it just boils my blood. It just, it's really angry.
- 4:03And, you know, a lot of people like, you know, have that moment
- 4:05that This is why people go off the direct, right?
- 4:08This, this is one of those reasons.
- 4:10Reason #182 on the list This is it.
- 4:13Well, in their defense, none of them trying to defend anyone,
- 4:15just to put in perspective, you know, certain cultures have
- 4:20certain values and when you're in a culture and you act
- 4:26differently, in order for it to make you aware that you know
- 4:31this is not appropriate and so on, they would give you a
- 4:34consequence. Now, every day that every school
- 4:36has different tolerance levels and so on and so on happens to
- 4:42be it wasn't, wasn't against the rules of the particular, this
- 4:45particular teacher, this particular Muhammad, he was like
- 4:48a very firm, firm, firm guy for him.
- 4:51He probably like lost himself. He's like all over my whole
- 4:55life. Is that the slim Galbos?
- 4:56He's not, you know, he's not, you know, the most decent guy
- 5:00to, to be able to listen to and so on.
- 5:03Maybe because of that, you know, I'm so obsessed with the
- 5:05Schlemmer now. I don't know, but Schlemmer is
- 5:07definitely my. My might have, might have
- 5:12slammer. Well, if only you're 8th grade.
- 5:14Rebbe can hear you now. So.
- 5:17So how did that that thing come to play in the Hopas with the
- 5:20I'm on my way thing? How did that happen?
- 5:22I don't remember exactly how it started, but I guess I was
- 5:25trying to be creative once and I felt like, you know, it was
- 5:29probably like a spiritual wedding or something.
- 5:31And I probably like just was being free and creative and just
- 5:37did that because I'm slightly used to sing it.
- 5:40Then I felt like before you sing him as Kochev, before there's
- 5:43the Yehud, before, you know, when you bring together the
- 5:46house and the kala, you know, Claudia's strong Hashem, we need
- 5:49we need a house, right? Yeah.
- 5:52These, these couple, the the couple is building a house and
- 5:54Hashem doesn't have a house. So we're just saying, Hashem,
- 5:57don't worry, we're on our way. It's it's in our head.
- 6:00Wow, so exactly when it started. That's beautiful.
- 6:02Actually, I don't know. That's OK.
- 6:04Tell us a little bit about your background.
- 6:05Who are you? Where are you from?
- 6:06What's your name? Is it Barry?
- 6:08Is there another name? Where'd you grow up?
- 6:11Tell me about your family. Where where are your parents
- 6:13from? Do you have siblings?
- 6:14Just tell me as much as you can in terms of your your background
- 6:17and your upbringing and just a little bit about who you are.
- 6:20Right, so let's try to make it simple.
- 6:26I grew up in Williamsburg. My family, the reason my family
- 6:34was brought up in the Papa community is because my
- 6:39grandfather, my father's father, was a brother-in-law with a
- 6:43puppet rebbe. So we're like family.
- 6:48Not the puppet roof. The puppet roof that you say
- 6:50that you know that. There's like a joke about that.
- 6:51Yeah, a joke. Like puppet roof.
- 6:53Puppet roof right A sattner wanted a.
- 6:59He's modern Orthodox. He doesn't.
- 7:01Besides the trauma that my that that might have it, you know,
- 7:04punished me for having ipslaim, I have another trauma.
- 7:07I grew up in in Papa and Papa because it was a, you know, side
- 7:13by side with Sattner. Sattner and Williamsburg wanted
- 7:16to have the dominance so anybody that was in their way would be
- 7:20dealt the different way. Bells sounds, trying not to be
- 7:27negative, but you know, it's just my youth, right?
- 7:29And then Papa was labeled Papa, so you like Papa?
- 7:34You don't matter, you know. Wow.
- 7:37Lots of politics, Michael, when it comes to different I'm.
- 7:41Learning. Especially within Williamsburg,
- 7:43which like you said, was dominated by Sotmer.
- 7:44Like, they had the identity of Williamsburg with Sotmer, but
- 7:47there were others are trying to, like, stake their claim a little
- 7:50bit, you know, make their mark. OK, so so you grew up as a
- 7:52pauper? I grew up as a pauper, and so I
- 7:57By default I was in the Heider yeshiva.
- 8:01Then once I outgrew the yeshiva I went to, that's a strong the
- 8:07mirror. Oh.
- 8:09Sorry, that's on the mirror. I was there for three years.
- 8:12Wow. Really, really open my eyes.
- 8:13Really changed my life. And I, just like you, found out
- 8:16there's a thing over there in town still.
- 8:18I found out that there's Jews in the world.
- 8:20I thought this is only Onesburg. I mean, not that.
- 8:24So you grew up sheltered, You grew up very enclosed in your
- 8:26community. Happens to be my father wasn't a
- 8:30close minded person who was very open minded didn't shelter us
- 8:35very much unless it was something that was wrong
- 8:38according to Aloka and so on. I grew up very happy.
- 8:42He he was there for us. He was a shame.
- 8:44You know, he was was dealing and when I was 18 he trusted me to
- 8:49go in Israel. I mean today it's a style
- 8:51everybody goes to Israel, but back then it wasn't so popular.
- 8:54Everybody goes to Israel. You kind of need to be a little
- 8:57open minded, you know a little little free spirit to allow you
- 9:02your kid to go somewhere. I know that I know in your world
- 9:05and today, even in my world, it's it's, it's the standard.
- 9:10But back then it was I remember when I came back and I and
- 9:13somebody taught me how to to play guitar.
- 9:16I was the only Hasidic guy who walked around with with a
- 9:22guitar. It it it was.
- 9:25Like, I mean, you have to see them even back then that played
- 9:27instruments well. Was that something that was?
- 9:29Only two. Only two.
- 9:32One was Joel Brach Oliver Shalom saxophone and one was Yankee
- 9:37Catina. Guitar.
- 9:38But both of them were kind of more of like AI would say, I
- 9:45don't know, modern, but they were considered not like not
- 9:48someone who is what they like. They wouldn't you're going to
- 9:51laugh for me because you don't understand a little the culture.
- 9:53But like they were there was cut, they were shaving the
- 9:55beards. They were like into their, you
- 9:59know, into their fitness and like, I'm just giving an example
- 10:05and I'm not saying necessarily that, well, that was the case.
- 10:07It's a, it's like a certain type of guy.
- 10:09Like when you grew up in citizenship, you're expected to
- 10:13not be in touch with the worldly things you know?
- 10:16They're a little more out-of-the-box.
- 10:18So until 18, you you did you sing at all?
- 10:21I could do that. So I grew up.
- 10:22I, I mean my family, my family, they all know how to sing.
- 10:26And again, back in the days, you have to understand that the
- 10:30evolution of singing, I mean, the patent the last 1020 years
- 10:35changed so much. It was it wasn't like a OK thing
- 10:41or a Mahaba dig a thing to be a singer.
- 10:44It was OK. So you so technically you kind
- 10:48of didn't make it in the business world or you didn't
- 10:51become a Talmud Hakam. So you're like.
- 10:54Yeah. Doing that like it.
- 10:57Was considered second class, you know it.
- 10:58Was kind of like second class when I when I was a when I
- 11:04started off my life with my family, the moist this over here
- 11:08could not handle that there's a singer.
- 11:11They, they, I had issues, but they didn't accept me in the
- 11:13moist this I was for two years running from place to place to
- 11:17place to place to place, except my children.
- 11:19And their only issue was the fact that I'm a singer.
- 11:22It wasn't, I mean, that was the era of Liebish Meltzer, you
- 11:24know, Liebish Meltzer, he did controversial things.
- 11:27He went on a on a concert and wearing a brown suit instead of
- 11:33a black suit. You know, it's like, it's like
- 11:34opening the eyes of everyone. It's not so long ago, but you
- 11:38know, but it, but this is how the world changed today.
- 11:41It's it's OK today. It's a world of social media.
- 11:43It's a way that we see everything and so on.
- 11:46YouTube didn't exist then 20 years ago for.
- 11:49Sure. So I'm curious, so you, you got
- 11:50a guitar you start to play. So, OK, so as a as a child, I
- 11:54was singing, Yeah. But it wasn't the thing that
- 11:56every child who knows how to sing becomes automatically a
- 12:00sensation and a wonder child, you know?
- 12:03I know how to sing. I even sang on albums I sang on
- 12:07Malcolm and David's album I sang on.
- 12:09What'd you sing? Well, do you remember it?
- 12:12I remember it. What is it Do I what I?
- 12:13Did it's called Nagina Bass album?
- 12:15It's one of his albums. OK, yeah.
- 12:17It's it's like a collection album of.
- 12:19So I was a kid. You sang with him?
- 12:21Yeah. So how do they even know about
- 12:22you? How do they know you existed?
- 12:24So how they knew? So I guess even by weddings
- 12:27there wasn't, it wasn't a style like every wedding didn't have a
- 12:30singer. Somebody knew how to sing, they
- 12:32would take a mic. It didn't have any effects.
- 12:34It wasn't professional, so on. I remember by my by my brother's
- 12:37wedding, I like to sing. So I sang on the mic.
- 12:40I was an entire wedding that Can you imagine going to a wedding,
- 12:43you see a child singing on the mic, a 10 year old singing an
- 12:45entire wedding. Like, it's weird, but that's
- 12:48what I did then. So it was known that I know how
- 12:51to sing. It was a cousin's wedding.
- 12:52I would go with two other cousins singing the mic and then
- 12:57I guess someone oh it was JJ Fried.
- 13:00JJ Fried, JJ Fried. We know JJ Fried.
- 13:03Do we? Yeah.
- 13:03He lives in the toner quest. He lives in OK.
- 13:06Plug for Toner Quest. JJ Fried was then like a hacker.
- 13:09He was like involved with MBD and all the Jewish superstars I
- 13:13have. To say this, I'm sorry.
- 13:15JJI love you. He told me once he had one time
- 13:18he was showing me his hair and his ears and I'm like, ah, he
- 13:22you have a lot of hearing ears. He goes I never cut it because
- 13:26the vibrations help me hear music.
- 13:29So when I sing and I make music, it helps me.
- 13:32JJ love you love you. But so he got you into it, which
- 13:38is interesting. OK, so so throughout your
- 13:40journey, when did you? So JJ was someone who
- 13:43understands, Yeah, sound or whatever, as you said.
- 13:47Vibrations. I don't know, but yeah, so he
- 13:52kind of was involved. He put together, he was involved
- 13:54with the Sookie and Ding when they produced albums and so on.
- 13:57So he was kind of like the go to guy when it came to talent OR
- 14:02whatever. I guess he.
- 14:06He made the connection. He saw and he write like this,
- 14:08this job of a producer. You see something, you know, we
- 14:11all see talent, you know, we just get entertained.
- 14:14A producer, his brain works differently.
- 14:18He's like, oh, let's make a business out of it.
- 14:19Let's fix it. Let's, you know, and I guess,
- 14:22you know, he saw something. He he said, OK, I I could use
- 14:26this voice on this album. So he used me for many albums.
- 14:29I sang on MBD's album Mandy Wertergood, MBD's brother Yunus
- 14:34Schwartz. I did their Kinder classics
- 14:38first. Kinder classics are the moisture
- 14:40Goldman bub of Machanishalva bub of albums and so on.
- 14:45So but I wasn't like a front runner.
- 14:48I wasn't like, I wasn't the Kiev.
- 14:51I call it the Kiev. You know, today every kid who
- 14:53knows how to sing becomes a Kiev.
- 14:55He has to say Kaddish. He has to go on the mic, whether
- 14:58you like it or not. But so so I knew how to sing and
- 15:02like I had an inner belief that, you know, that I can probably
- 15:06sing better than others. So when I was in Israel and I
- 15:12went to the the Shook leading to the Koisel and there was like
- 15:18guitars for sale and the guy just blocked my path.
- 15:25I want to buy this guitar. So I writer and I said no, but
- 15:30he wouldn't let me go. And then, you know, then we
- 15:34bargained for, you know, Philly Shekel.
- 15:36I bought my guitar and I had a guitar.
- 15:39So now I have to learn how to play it.
- 15:41And then I, you know, I started playing.
- 15:43So that's once I started playing, I started composing.
- 15:46So I got into the zone, you know, I got into the zone when I
- 15:50got married. I, I, when I, when I got
- 15:52married, I wasn't considering being a singer.
- 15:58It was just I was in in construction and then that.
- 16:01Was your first job construction? Yeah, I rather got into
- 16:04construction. I did railings, woodwork,
- 16:09installed railings. Yeah.
- 16:11And then in 2008, you know, there was the, the, the crash,
- 16:18you know, there was, there was no, there was no work.
- 16:21So jobs and I had a lot of time myself.
- 16:24I was, I was home basically like most of the time.
- 16:28I was newly married two years after my wedding maybe.
- 16:32And my wife told me that her friend's husband at night, she,
- 16:37he goes to Kyle and when he finishes, does he go at night?
- 16:40He goes to the studio and he sings choir and they get paid.
- 16:44I think it was $12.00 an hour and so on.
- 16:46I'm like, wait a minute, I'm the professional worker who gets up
- 16:496:00 in the morning and I I get $10.00 an hour and he gets
- 16:52$12.00 just for singing Hook me up.
- 16:56So I went, I went and there was a guitar there.
- 17:00So I started playing and the guy was like a regular hostage is
- 17:06playing guitar. No way.
- 17:09You're like a celebrity. That was the beginning of the
- 17:14end that was. The beginning of the end.
- 17:15Wow. Next day I brought my Nana
- 17:16guitar. He was like, huh, Nana, like a
- 17:19regular guy. You're not crazy and you have a
- 17:22Nana guitar. So he right away called up his
- 17:25friends, which is Naftali Schnitzler.
- 17:27Naftali Schnitzler was three months after, you know, he got,
- 17:32he got married and he always dreamt of being a producer.
- 17:34He's like, I think we have a good shit of Javier.
- 17:38He's a guy. He has the has a unique voice.
- 17:40I heard him. He knows how to play.
- 17:42It's more than just another singer.
- 17:45And you want to produce, maybe you want to you want to meet the
- 17:47guy. And so it happened.
- 17:49And so it started work with Schnitzler.
- 17:52And yeah, the rest is history. Wow.
- 17:55Speaking of history then, what was your first album?
- 17:57What was your first? So we started, so we started off
- 18:00with the single, put out a single, which I don't think it
- 18:03was the style to put out singles.
- 18:04I mean, today, because there's, you know, there's social media
- 18:07and there's, there's platforms, online platforms, you can just
- 18:13put out whatever you want. You could put out a voice note,
- 18:15a podcast or whatever. Back then, everything was
- 18:17printed. You know, it was, it was, it was
- 18:19ACD. So what do you mean a single
- 18:22like? Well, I put out ACD just for one
- 18:24song. Like I yeah, I couldn't put out
- 18:26ACD for one song and online who like was very it wasn't very.
- 18:32The distribution digitally changed the game.
- 18:35You know that you can do these kinds of things back then.
- 18:37Remember what the first song I mean it was?
- 18:38Bala Kim, Bala Kim Batafti. I put out a music video to it
- 18:42too, which was also like eye opening.
- 18:43Like it wasn't like doing official music video wasn't I
- 18:47think it was like maybe maybe 2-3 videos before me, like just
- 18:53like has put together something for Lipa and some but it wasn't
- 18:56it wasn't definitely it wasn't like anybody who puts out a song
- 18:59puts out a music video. So this was like a little
- 19:01different. I raised the eyebrows of people
- 19:03to go something new, something fresh.
- 19:07And I'm assuming that's probably the reason why, you know, these
- 19:09schools were afraid. Like where you heading?
- 19:13Like, what is next, Hollywood? We don't want that in our
- 19:17schools, you know, like, so, all right, I'm not dealing with you.
- 19:20Try someone else. Wow.
- 19:23OK, so that was the beginning. You know, we we do something in
- 19:25the beginning of our podcast that's called ChatGPT says what
- 19:29about you? And you're like, whoa, OK,
- 19:31what's coming? So I want to tell you, I mean,
- 19:34we know you, the world knows you.
- 19:36I'm assuming most of our listeners know you, but you
- 19:39know, I I read through it and I was like, OK, this doesn't this
- 19:41this episode doesn't require perhaps one of those chatsheept.
- 19:44But it's something in here that that I was like looking at and I
- 19:47was like, OK, I know, I know he's very involved in music.
- 19:50And I'll just tell you quickly in case you ever chatsheeptide
- 19:52yourself. Yeah, like it's like, it's like
- 19:56a bio, right? Yeah.
- 19:57Did you ever actually do it on yourself to see what is what the
- 19:59world say about? You.
- 20:00If not me, that was my children. I don't know.
- 20:04The first thing it says is before the stages, the spotlight
- 20:08and weddings, he was already showing up for kids who were
- 20:10falling through the cracks quietly, consistently and
- 20:14without Instagram applause. Now I'm how they know that I
- 20:18don't know. I, I don't know.
- 20:19So I'm curious what that is. I I do know that I've, you know,
- 20:23Tovia was one of my friends introduced me to you a long time
- 20:27ago and you came on our pontoon boat and you brought a couple of
- 20:30Bucherim with you. But that that was already after.
- 20:32After, I didn't even know what that was.
- 20:33I couldn't understand. We didn't really schmooze then,
- 20:36but I must ask you, what does that mean?
- 20:38Where does give me that background of you and?
- 20:40OK, So well, obviously you know, everything has in the roots
- 20:45something that you know that that eventually allows for it to
- 20:50show certain fruits. So if this is my being, if this
- 20:54is my reality, now obviously there's something in my root
- 20:57that. So as I was a bochen yeshiva, I
- 21:02always would rather pick a cabrusa, someone who I could be
- 21:07their mentor in a sense. But then when I was in Israel, I
- 21:14found out about a yeshiva that was on a farm next to Bachemesh.
- 21:21These were for like for kids that came from broken homes,
- 21:25like orphans or, or kids that, that just come from families
- 21:31that, you know, the father and mother wouldn't get along or
- 21:34whatever, like just dysfunctional, dysfunctional
- 21:36backgrounds. And this guy had like he had a
- 21:41house that rented a house for them and basically kept them
- 21:44occupied the whole day just by being farmers in the sense.
- 21:48So, you know, they would be, they, you know, they, they, they
- 21:50would do their teenager stuff or whatever.
- 21:52Like it wasn't there were, there were no smartphones.
- 21:56Maybe there was, I don't remember.
- 21:58No, maybe they were smart, but like they had they their gamings
- 22:03and their computers and so on. But at the but the most time
- 22:07they they would do creative stuff like planting, being busy
- 22:11with animals. And so I signed up to be
- 22:16involved over there. So I would go every night, I
- 22:20would go there and just take, make some basically shadow them
- 22:25be. Like a Big Brother program.
- 22:28Right. So I would, I would sleep there.
- 22:30I would when I finished yeshiva like around 4:00 in the
- 22:34afternoon, I would take a ride to get to that place.
- 22:39I would spend there the whole night and wake them up in the
- 22:41morning and then go back in the morning Yeshiva.
- 22:43So basically I, you know, I was there entertainment, I was
- 22:45basically took care of them. So that was really my first
- 22:49introduction to something to that, to that to that extreme.
- 22:53So probably this is what ChatGPT, I don't think I ever
- 22:56spoke about this. Maybe I did, I guess I did
- 22:58because how would ChatGPT know about that?
- 23:00So. Or someone else spoke about it
- 23:02about you, right? Right.
- 23:04So that was your your first eye opening to the world of
- 23:07dysfunction and and family and boys that have challenges and
- 23:10mentoring and mentoring as well. Because I would sit with them
- 23:14and I would, I would play guitar and I would chill and we would
- 23:18take donkeys at night. Every night we had a lot of
- 23:21donkeys. Everybody would sit on donkey,
- 23:24would walk out like to like half hour like outside like a
- 23:27mountaintop. We'd sit down like watch under
- 23:30the stars and we'd put a fire and sing, you know, like, yeah,
- 23:34that was. And and of course, when, you
- 23:36know, this happened, everybody felt like very intimately
- 23:40vulnerable to be able to share and so on and so on.
- 23:43And I didn't have any experience in psychology or of, you know,
- 23:49of how to deal with emotional issues and so on.
- 23:51But I just used my common sense to, you know, just to act
- 23:56appropriately, I'll say, and, you know, and then just to be a
- 23:59listening ear and so on. And.
- 24:01Provide friendship and love and support.
- 24:05That's typically what people most of the time.
- 24:06What did you learn from that, from that whole, you know, time
- 24:10that you were doing this? I'll.
- 24:11Be very honest with you. You know, I see it every day.
- 24:13But I mean, Shiva, there's, there's a lot of knowledge that
- 24:17is being, that is, that is being gifted to them.
- 24:23And, and I always want to like, I'm, when I, I get to think
- 24:28like, like how much, how much of how much of that does really do
- 24:33they really absorb? Like they're 1617 year olds,
- 24:37Like their mind does not function the way like somebody
- 24:40who had life experiences and so on.
- 24:43You know, I'm not talking about somebody who's smarter, not
- 24:45smarter, but I'm talking even like life experiences allows you
- 24:48to observe certain understanding of certain realities and so on.
- 24:52So, you know, you know, I can share and some professionals
- 24:56could share their professional experiences and opinions and
- 25:00guidance and so on, but it's only how much you could absorb,
- 25:04you know, how much you get. So I think at that point my
- 25:08brain didn't work in AI mean it definitely didn't work the way
- 25:12it works now. But I, I was, was just like,
- 25:15like more of like a robot, like just doing my thing.
- 25:17Like I wasn't like with, you know, OK, maybe it was, but I
- 25:21definitely don't remember like that.
- 25:23I was like, for me, like life lessons.
- 25:25And I was like very deep and like very meaningful.
- 25:28I was just like. I'm like strategic or calculated
- 25:32I. Consider myself like as a
- 25:33hippie, like I can do that. I'm a guy who can just chill out
- 25:36on a farm and not be afraid of animals and, you know, just ride
- 25:40on a donkey and be there for kids who are not khasidish and
- 25:45so on and so on. I just for me, it was like, it
- 25:47was like a trip. It was like a journey.
- 25:49It was like a, you know, like an outskirt you.
- 25:53Know best way to live? That's the best way.
- 25:55It's a certain, you know, I didn't.
- 25:57I didn't. Unburdened.
- 25:59Yeah, it wasn't like the growth. I mean, now if I look back at
- 26:02it, it was definitely something that, you know, that, you know,
- 26:05it's just, you know, it gives me perspectives and certain things
- 26:08and so on. And I grow from it now.
- 26:10But back then I didn't feel necessarily that, you know, this
- 26:13is what gives me life tips and so on.
- 26:15It was for me like a form of entertainment or like an outlet
- 26:18for me to be able to do what I did and make me feel good and so
- 26:22on. So, so Fast forward a little
- 26:24bit, this Shiva that you're involved with, I mean, so she
- 26:28what, what you don't know about our relationship is that we met
- 26:31each other a few weeks ago. First of all, I met him in the
- 26:34beginning. I have to say this because it's
- 26:36just fun to talk about. When we started off our podcast,
- 26:39I had made 5 phone calls to different people asking them to
- 26:43come on or what their thoughts are.
- 26:45And one of them was to this holy soul over here.
- 26:48And he tells me, listen, what you basically said to me was
- 26:52everybody likes to start things. Everybody likes to start things.
- 26:55And when you have it and you're doing it for more than a year
- 26:58and you have enough subscribers that are actually making impact
- 27:01on this world, call me. And then I met him in the Shook
- 27:03a few months ago. And I, I had the opportunity to
- 27:06meet your whole family. And I said, remember that
- 27:08discussion? We're there or she and I got
- 27:10there. So I need you to come on.
- 27:11And then a few weeks ago, we met when you were, I came to a
- 27:15meeting by UC Chern's house and Barry was there with a few
- 27:19people and they were discussing opening up a yeshiva for boys
- 27:23that don't fit in. And it was at the same time that
- 27:27I started this journey of opening, of reopening up a
- 27:30school in Muncie for high School, for Girls that was
- 27:33shutting down mid year. And we were both looking at each
- 27:35other. And I was like, let's divide and
- 27:37conquer. You go ahead and take care of
- 27:39the boys that need that and I'll go ahead and take care.
- 27:41And Barkhosham, I have to say a month later, our school, our
- 27:44opening houses now. And you know, we're doing
- 27:47fantastic. It's the new Oros.
- 27:49Rev Hirsch. And the yeshiva is also running.
- 27:51And the yeshiva is also running, so we partnered with each other
- 27:53in that moment. Today we finished the first
- 27:55week. Wow, how's?
- 27:56That I mean, I've I've done this issue.
- 27:58I mean, I've done this issue in the past and, and I just
- 28:01reopened because there was a lot of challenges.
- 28:04Whatever. I, I, I don't think I should go
- 28:06into it. But the point was that I, I got
- 28:09pushed by Madaba Jemiah Morgan Stern.
- 28:11He was like, that's definitely the reason why I did it.
- 28:14But before I was going to jump in again and restart, mean to
- 28:18say I was involved the entire time since I started 10 years
- 28:22ago till now, I was constantly involved in different ways like,
- 28:28you know, I was until today, you know, there's the left team
- 28:31centre, the left, the left Toyota yeshiva, whatever.
- 28:35They have their own good day. And I'm still involved and I was
- 28:37there yesterday and I still talk to them and I, you know, and I
- 28:39help out, you know what I could, but running the whole program
- 28:43like financially and being the, you know, the, the responsible
- 28:47guy that I didn't do for two years.
- 28:51And now I just had a whole new group of boys that just came
- 28:55forward. Whatever we can get into it how
- 28:58it happened. But Lamai said that the nail on
- 29:02the coffin last, I mean, in a good way.
- 29:04The, you know, what made it happen was technically easy
- 29:09turns that support. We were looking for partners and
- 29:12support, like I know from experience exactly what could
- 29:17help something and what could make it collapse because I've
- 29:20been through both and I the last thing that we wanted to have on
- 29:26top of everything being in place, we needed a support from
- 29:32people who are have wide shoulders and you see he's one
- 29:37of them. Thank you sham.
- 29:39He was asking right away to be there for whatever he could help
- 29:44and so on. And you were there to witness
- 29:48it. So we went there and you see
- 29:51said right away, absolutely. And you also jumped in.
- 29:56You said right away, I'm I'm here to help, you know, I know
- 29:59what I could have what I can't help, but I'm like any help, You
- 30:02know, we have, we have a lot of people who always say, Oh, wow,
- 30:06I want to you know, they say in Yiddish Si Zugen and Lieben
- 30:10doesn't hurt, promise and to love doesn't hurt, right, But it
- 30:16does hurt when somebody promises you and you rely on the person
- 30:19and then. They don't come through, Yeah.
- 30:21That's fine. During the building of this, I
- 30:23just want to mention Robbie Center, God bless you, Ravi
- 30:27Center and your whole family and all the rabunim and all the
- 30:29Community Board members that helped restart the school in the
- 30:32middle of the year. He taught me one thing very,
- 30:34very important when I was going around to create a collective
- 30:38board and everyone's like, what am I going to do?
- 30:40What do you want from me? And Ravi Center said a great,
- 30:43great idea. He said do what's in your
- 30:45ability to do. Right.
- 30:47And it was so smart because then it's like, okay, calm, feeling
- 30:51like you're not asking me to do something I can't do, ask me
- 30:53something I could do. And we created, thank God.
- 30:56And, and we both finished our first week this week, by the
- 30:58way, some other stuff too. Yeah.
- 30:59This week was the end of the first week of the school.
- 31:01Yeah. Kazak.
- 31:02Look at you guys taking over the world.
- 31:05I had a also a hard week by the way, for the record, I just want
- 31:08to say that I, you know, I was in the office the whole week by
- 31:10the way, but I worked OK, so. You could say that you get.
- 31:14Part of that. But no, I'll be honest, I've
- 31:16been following Michael's journey in the last month and it's
- 31:19probably going on maybe a little bit longer than that, maybe a
- 31:21couple of months, Yeah. But it's been a arduous, it's
- 31:25been a rocky road. And you know, public service,
- 31:29there's really no gratification in it.
- 31:32Everybody just throw stones at you.
- 31:33That's. Why there's all these these
- 31:34blessings for people who do call me show you with circus every
- 31:38minute there's tons of blessings.
- 31:40Why? Yeah, because not only they
- 31:42don't recognize you, they. They get upset.
- 31:45They say it, say it. It's just, you know, today
- 31:49Yeshiva, you know, we, we kind of like we, we expect sometimes
- 31:55we don't hop that you know, it's, it's it's just boys that
- 31:59that they don't see the world. You know, they're just starting
- 32:01their life and you know, you give them everything you got.
- 32:05You give them, you know, love and you show them, you know,
- 32:08that we're here for you and everything.
- 32:09And and they would expect like I give you my whole heart.
- 32:13Give me a little of your heart. You know, sometimes you see
- 32:15somebody like he's just struggling, right?
- 32:18But that's that's why they're here because we're here to
- 32:21slowly, slowly, you know, untighten this, these tight
- 32:24scrolls that they put there to protect themselves.
- 32:27So today we finished one week. I finished this year and I'm
- 32:30like, OK guys, I want to ask everyone here they should.
- 32:36I know there's a lot of complaints and I'm sure there's
- 32:39a lot of jokes that you guys want to do and certain things
- 32:42that is needed. It's the first week, you know,
- 32:44certain things I want to hear from everyone before we start 1
- 32:47positive thing that they like about the place and the guy
- 32:53first humorously says the first positive thing that I like is
- 32:58that something I don't remember it was something like this bulb
- 33:02is room is not working. So so I see the guy that's
- 33:06sitting beside me, one of the name over here, he's just
- 33:10starting to boil and he's like, so you're saying it, you don't
- 33:13like this place So so so so so do you think we can change it or
- 33:18do you think that you don't belong here?
- 33:19I'm like. Make it easy.
- 33:23Easy Tiger. He's a tiger, you know, This guy
- 33:26is just. It's hard though, because you
- 33:28pour your heart and soul into things you put a lot of effort
- 33:30in and you don't get that reciprocation.
- 33:33And to show that they're grateful, it, it does hurt, you
- 33:36know, But that's the beauty and the power of unconditional love,
- 33:40right? Parents have that for children.
- 33:41They don't expect anything to return.
- 33:42They want to do it because they want to give the love, right?
- 33:45But I want to go back to Michael for a second because in the last
- 33:47two months, he's been pouring his heart and soul into this
- 33:51mission, which I actually looked at this as why do you have to be
- 33:55the guy to step up and to take charge and to take the entire
- 34:00burden on yourself? And there's like 50-60 other
- 34:03parents in the school. Where's everybody else?
- 34:05Why isn't there a meeting? Why doesn't everybody show up
- 34:08and everybody take a chunk of responsibility and let's divvy
- 34:12up the responsibilities, right? Let's let's chop up a slice and
- 34:16dice what everybody's going to do.
- 34:17No, no, no, it was literally. And everybody else was just
- 34:19watching passively as he was doing it because they're like,
- 34:22oh, look at this guy, he's taking the load for everybody
- 34:24else. You know, we'll, we'll be alone
- 34:26for the ride. But no one was really
- 34:28contributing much. And Michael wasn't deterred by
- 34:31that. You really went out and just
- 34:33made it happen, got the right people involved.
- 34:35But it wasn't just what he did. It was how he did it.
- 34:38And I heard feedback from a lot of the people that you've been
- 34:40meeting with, how impressed they were with how organized you
- 34:45were, how detailed you and how you cared so much about doing it
- 34:49and it with the hash Kafa in the right way and not just
- 34:51continuing what they had till now, doing it even better.
- 34:55You were taking an opportunity, something where it was falling
- 34:58apart and not just salvaging it, not just keeping the pieces
- 35:01together, but using this time to say, you know what, let's go an
- 35:05extra 10 miles an hour and let's go even above and beyond, which
- 35:08was amazing. He was accomplishing two birds
- 35:09with one stone and the first week is done.
- 35:12It's in the books. It's a lot to be part of.
- 35:15I'm I'm really, really impressed with what you did, Michael.
- 35:17Thank you. You deserve a lot of accolades.
- 35:19And you know, Barry, before I started, I had to get permission
- 35:22for my, literally for my family, for my business partners, for my
- 35:24friends. I said I'm, I'm going away for a
- 35:26month. I'm going to be working on this
- 35:2720 hours a day. So I called Ushi and I called
- 35:31Mushi. And don't forget, you promised
- 35:33me 10%, Michael said to them. He did.
- 35:35It's not a joke. He promised me 10% of all of the
- 35:38Hussim that he got for this entire thing.
- 35:41I got 10%. People kept asking me how can
- 35:42you do this? You even asked me when you first
- 35:44walked in, how are you doing this?
- 35:45I said. I have good partners.
- 35:47I have people that stand behind me and they understand.
- 35:48No, he was called. He was.
- 35:50He was coming up to me all bubbly.
- 35:51I'm like, don't be bubbly around me.
- 35:53I'm exhausted. Yeah, but that's Michael, by the
- 35:57way. He could be so, like, stressed
- 36:00and have a million things going. He's still smiling.
- 36:02He still has positive energy. He could still have a good time
- 36:05with him, which is, you know, if I'm in a bad mood, everybody
- 36:07around me knows it. Everybody knows it like you
- 36:09know. I'd love to thank you, Ishi.
- 36:11I love you. I appreciate it.
- 36:12And for everyone involved, thank you.
- 36:14Kudos to you and Yakov Oros Reverse, the first high school
- 36:18that's hanging its hat on the philosophies of reverse, which
- 36:21is Torah leading the way and everything else behind you.
- 36:24Yes, yes. Wow.
- 36:27It's a beautiful thing. And it's, it's honestly, it's
- 36:30like it's called Torah. I am Derekharitz.
- 36:32And people think that Derekharitz means the way you
- 36:33behave, and that's not what it is.
- 36:35Derekharitz is a way of life. So therefore, all the teachers
- 36:39have to be Jewish. It's part of the process.
- 36:42We want to integrate science with Torah.
- 36:44We want to integrate math with Torah.
- 36:46And teaching these girls that when you get older, you can have
- 36:49a path for yourself. And.
- 36:50Wow, yeah. Isn't that so much like the
- 36:53Hofitzheim schools? Perhaps I, I, yeah, I don't
- 36:56know. I, I see.
- 36:57I don't know anything about like.
- 36:59The modern high in. The sea no wow even even even I
- 37:02don't know behind this is like what is happens to be that my
- 37:05children grew up my boys learned in a traded image ever which in
- 37:11Muncie until today I think is the best not because I'm like
- 37:17ass my son's crater and so on. I just they they were always
- 37:21open and they're very open to just to to make sure that they
- 37:25give the best for the children versus most Moises and
- 37:31everything has its flaws. But I'm saying for me, it was
- 37:34this, this was the best being that I'm also that type of
- 37:37person who is, you know, evolving and growing and open
- 37:41for I'm not looking to lock myself into when it comes to to
- 37:45Yiddish guide. I'm not looking to be, I only
- 37:48want to go on this path in Yiddish guide.
- 37:49And there's a lot of path I like to integrate and to enhance and
- 37:54to add, I think. And and so over there, I was a
- 37:58little involved, like, you know, whenever there was like
- 38:02problematic issues, things started collapse to collapse.
- 38:08I always, you know, jumped in and was one of the people who
- 38:12tried to make sure that it it it survives and it thrives
- 38:15eventually. And over there.
- 38:18So I was a little aware of, you know, that I remember they went
- 38:21to Rayetti to Rayetti for training, which is not something
- 38:25that most solution misers would do.
- 38:27They wouldn't go to a particular guy that has a method of how to
- 38:31deal with evidence so on. They would follow a certain I
- 38:36don't know how it works because I don't know there, but there's
- 38:38a certain traditional and so on. But it doesn't go with a method.
- 38:42I think today it's more in that teachers and Milan go for
- 38:46training and so on. But but, but, but but but my
- 38:49kids when they were young, it wasn't a thing.
- 38:53So I would love to hear. I don't know.
- 38:55It doesn't have to be on the path because, but I would love
- 38:57to hear more about the treasure for all this, because I remember
- 39:00there's there's one vote that I that that always bug late me.
- 39:05There was always that, you know, really.
- 39:08Resonated. He always resonated that the
- 39:10reason why Asaph grew up to be what he was was because it could
- 39:16sound a little controversial like that.
- 39:19The reason was because Yitzhak put him in the same school of
- 39:24Yaakov. Like if Yitzhak would have,
- 39:27although we see a little differently, but this is what
- 39:29transfer for Hersh says that if Yitzhak would have that gave him
- 39:33that outlet and avoid it's a shame where his training or his
- 39:39growth would be designed something for him in particular,
- 39:43then he wouldn't always look, Oh look, my brother is making it.
- 39:46I'm not, you know, he would feel like there would be like.
- 39:50But we do see that Yaakov wanted to bless Asaph, so he told him
- 39:56to go and hunt, which was his thing, which which means he did.
- 40:03Support him, support his. Thing and make him feel good
- 40:05about it and therefore reward him for it.
- 40:08So but but this is definitely an idea that I'll be darker.
- 40:13You know when when you want to help a child, you have to be
- 40:17sensitive to his, you know, to his capabilities and to see you
- 40:23know not to put them in a you know, in a certain, in a.
- 40:26Box, it's all subjective. You got to customize to what
- 40:28they need, to what your child needs.
- 40:30Yeah, well, I just, I don't want to hijack this.
- 40:32I want to learn a lot more. No, I really want to get to like
- 40:35Barry Weber and to like the fun and cool parts about you.
- 40:38But before I do that, I do want to give one shout out, Michael,
- 40:41because, you know, we're talking about this partnership.
- 40:44You know, you're out there and helping the world.
- 40:46I want to give a shout out to a certain individual, if I may go
- 40:49for it. One of our clients, US Health,
- 40:51I'm going to announce it, okay. And the purchase director is
- 40:54Usher Mandelbaum. And he's a young kid.
- 40:55This is his first purchasing job and I'm helping him through and
- 41:00I'm trying to, you know, to guide him and support him, you
- 41:02know, in his in his mission. And he has wonderful bosses.
- 41:06Like the owners of this group are really great people, big
- 41:09fans of, you know, how they operate and what they're doing.
- 41:12But you could tell that he is just motivated and invested and
- 41:17not just learning, but learning in the right way.
- 41:19And he's always asking the right questions and he's always just
- 41:22interested in how do we increase the quality?
- 41:24How do we really do it in a way that it's not just about saving
- 41:27money, but I'm doing things in a professional manner that's going
- 41:31to have a good outcome for the organization, for the buildings,
- 41:34for the patients. And it's giving me a little bit
- 41:37of his look. So shout out to Usher.
- 41:39Just want you to know that you know, you're giving an old man a
- 41:42little bit of hiss again. So really appreciate you.
- 41:45All right, we're back. Let's go back to the program.
- 41:47I think the concept that you're saying that is meaningful to me
- 41:50and what we learned through the podcasts of meeting people and
- 41:53talking is intentional. And that's what that's what
- 41:56resonates with what you're saying is doing things with
- 41:58intention and knowing that this is what you're doing.
- 42:00This is the point. And another thing I learned
- 42:02along the way of being a board member and starting things is we
- 42:06have opinions. We don't have agendas.
- 42:09It's so important because and, and everyone who joined the
- 42:12board, I said the same thing. You can have opinions, but you
- 42:14can have agendas. What, where we're heading is
- 42:17Rosham Shinofaro Hershakafa. Who's going to guide that?
- 42:19The rabbinical board that was created and we're here to
- 42:22support them. So that system, thank God, is
- 42:24going really, really well. Beautiful.
- 42:27Yeah. I'd love to know before.
- 42:28I'm sorry. We're going to stay spiritual in
- 42:29another 2 minutes if you don't mind.
- 42:33With me, you're going to be spiritual forever.
- 42:35Sorry. Thank you.
- 42:36I appreciate that. I.
- 42:36Didn't know the side of you. I was not.
- 42:38I was not aware that this is your MO.
- 42:40This is I'm a spiritual junkie. I enjoy it.
- 42:43It's just like it makes sense to me.
- 42:44Other than that, it doesn't make sense.
- 42:47So you mentioned something. You mentioned Rich Meyer.
- 42:50Rich Meyer. This is a name I've heard so
- 42:52many times already in the past by.
- 42:54The way I'm sorry, yeah, some people have the wrong idea of
- 42:58being spirit. People relate spiritual, being
- 43:02spiritual with being airless or being Jewish or being.
- 43:06I think spiritual is versus tangible.
- 43:11You know, it's it's it's you're creative, you're spiritual
- 43:16versus, you know, being a nine to five job, which is not
- 43:20spiritual, right. In that sense, spiritual means
- 43:24like everything is a lesson. It it's it's a, it's a way of
- 43:28thinking. It's not necessarily Yiddish
- 43:32versus goyish. You know what I'm saying?
- 43:35We'd say this. Yeah.
- 43:35OK. I think I understand what you're
- 43:37saying. Yeah, like, like a goy is
- 43:38spiritual. Like if, if, if they're singing,
- 43:42Singing is being spiritual. You're creative.
- 43:45So connecting to the universe. Emotions is spiritual.
- 43:48Connecting to nature. Things like that.
- 43:50Can you correct them or, or or just clarify for a second?
- 43:53How are you spiritual throughout your day?
- 43:54Give us examples what is like? I I like what you're saying.
- 43:57Well, well, my brain works in a creative way.
- 44:00Meaning to say that when you tell me something, I hear those
- 44:04words, but I don't stop there. I'm like, why is he saying that?
- 44:10What does he really mean? Not because I'm paranoid, just
- 44:14because I'm creative. I, I, I take these words and I,
- 44:17I make a piece of art of it. I entered, I go into the depth
- 44:22of it. I look at the colours of it.
- 44:26I'm artist. I, I have a very hard time
- 44:31paying my bills because it's very physical to me.
- 44:35It's like being realistic. My, my being realistic is only
- 44:39for me that because I have to survive in a realistic world.
- 44:42But really, I'm in the art of it, OK, when I come in here, I,
- 44:47I see the production here. I, I don't know how to explain
- 44:52it, but it's artistic way of thinking.
- 44:55So although I mean, a lot of times I have to be very down to
- 44:59earth and show up at certain places at certain times and to
- 45:05hear the customer for what he says or for what he and she says
- 45:09or to be a little down to earth. But a lot of times I rely on my
- 45:15spirit on my, on my trip, on my on my 6th sense, my 6th sense.
- 45:21I'll explain it to you as as we go on like.
- 45:24No, I think that's not what you're saying you like you try
- 45:26to remove yourself from the materialistic equation, no?
- 45:30I'm not, I'm just. I am removed by default.
- 45:32By OK, that's right, that's what I mean.
- 45:34You are removing yourself from that and you're seeing how do
- 45:37the growth aspects of things right.
- 45:39You're seeing what to take from it, what to learn from it.
- 45:40I. See it in a little deeper
- 45:42creative of way. I don't know how to define it.
- 45:45I I call it being spiritual mean to say the spiritual world makes
- 45:48to me more sense than the non. Spiritual world.
- 45:52So if I gave you a choice to sing at a wedding tomorrow night
- 45:54where it's a very meaningful wedding and it's going to be a
- 45:58lot of people and emotional wedding, you know, because
- 46:00there's a story behind it. The two people that are getting
- 46:02married, you know, and they're paying you $3000 versus a
- 46:05wedding that is just a high end lavish wedding.
- 46:08A bunch of snobs are going to be there, a bunch of elite people,
- 46:11they're paying you 30 grand. Are you saying that you would
- 46:13rather sing at that $3000 I? Would rather but I can't make
- 46:18these decisions based on my emotions because of like that I
- 46:20would lose my family in a second I would.
- 46:23Understand your obligations. So there is a line in the sand
- 46:26where your spirituality takes a back seat.
- 46:29I have to use my brain to be realistic to reality and I have
- 46:32to pay my bills. I have to take care of my my
- 46:35values. I have to support my people that
- 46:37I care for. So I want to make that.
- 46:39Really, I would if, if, if, if my, if somebody would take care
- 46:43of my financials in my world, I would 100% choose I, I would
- 46:47rather want to sing every night and not every night because it's
- 46:51not possible. But I would rather, you know, a
- 46:54lot of times it happens. People are like, can you give me
- 46:57a discount? Technically, I don't care.
- 47:00I don't even like when I make with $2000 less $3000.
- 47:04It does not touch me in a second.
- 47:05It's just that I don't people take advantage, right?
- 47:09I don't want to. I don't want to lose my pants.
- 47:11I don't know about you. Deal with that directly.
- 47:13People call you. No, no, no.
- 47:14So see, therefore I have somebody who runs you.
- 47:16Have an agent who does that. Have agent does that because I I
- 47:20I really don't like I do not feel comfortable after waiting
- 47:25to go over to a Hutton and talk to him about dollars.
- 47:29It takes me out of the zone. I was just here.
- 47:32I created a vibe of happiness. I created a relationship for me,
- 47:36this is like blocking the relationship for me.
- 47:39This is like, yeah, that what I'm saying.
- 47:41Yeah, yeah. So it's a very important.
- 47:43So when I'm talking spiritual, I'm talking about that sentence.
- 47:45Yeah, yeah, that makes. We're about to go back to you.
- 47:47So you said Rabbit Shamira. I'm going back to that because
- 47:49I've heard his name many times and I have a lot of friends that
- 47:51are big fans. Can you just tell me a little
- 47:53bit about who he is? Wow, I'll tell you what I think
- 48:01of him too much in order for me to have the hotspot to describe
- 48:06him, but I'll tell you something that you would like to hear
- 48:09probably. So he was just a random kid that
- 48:15grew up in a random family, which means that he doesn't have
- 48:18any rabbinical DNA in his blood. His father used to be a diamond.
- 48:25He had a lot of money then like like at some point he lost all
- 48:29his money. But when he grew up, he grew up
- 48:34in a rich house. And he once said that that the
- 48:39way he he thought himself how to guard his eyes.
- 48:46By the way, I just heard last week someone told me he's close
- 48:49with, I guess, you know, with someone who I mean, just like
- 48:55you said, you didn't have everybody time.
- 48:56So there was this this iconic guy who said that.
- 48:59I never knew that guarding the eyes is is a thing.
- 49:05And it's today they have these this organization of what's it
- 49:09called? They had to put out these
- 49:10videos. And I am something.
- 49:12Something that you mine are. You mine.
- 49:14And he's like, wow, see, I never know.
- 49:16That's the thing, you know. But I guess in their school it
- 49:19wasn't a thing to teach like A to guard eyes.
- 49:21But anyways, which might have said that the way he thought
- 49:25himself of how to guard his eyes was because his father had
- 49:29mirrors in his house. Mirrors is like a modern thing,
- 49:33like a citizen house wouldn't look in the mirror.
- 49:36There's this thing that says if you look in the mirror, it wakes
- 49:39up your your evil inclination. You're yet so hotter.
- 49:44That's the thing where I can see them.
- 49:45But but by so he would, he was a little child and he would go
- 49:49around his house and not look like he was guarding his eyes.
- 49:53So he had this niche, this, this thing in his brain when he was a
- 49:56young child, just to be extreme in a way, which led him to be
- 50:01where he was, where he is right now.
- 50:02He's mean to say he's a he was a kid.
- 50:06I grew up with a nice haircut. Like he didn't have like these
- 50:10pies that I have, you know, and it wasn't the ultra from
- 50:16Hassedesha type of house. It was more of like a open
- 50:19minded modern house, but he pushed himself, pushed, pushed,
- 50:22pushed, pushed himself until today he's pushing.
- 50:26Himself, I know he's a major inspiration for a lot of people.
- 50:28And he's amazed. He's a Sally.
- 50:29He's just a Sally. He's someone who's someone who's
- 50:32bottled to the he's bottled to the universe.
- 50:34Like you can just step on him and like he's not like that
- 50:37coverage maker is like this was my suit.
- 50:40Don't like he would give aways. I have many friends that when
- 50:43they were Bacharam and Yeshiva in Israel and they would go over
- 50:47to his house just and they say, I don't know whether he would,
- 50:49he would cook them a omelette. He would make them an omelette.
- 50:52And there's two things he knew how to do, omelette and pizza.
- 50:56Like he would make them a pizza. And I'm like very humble guy,
- 50:58you know, and but he's a Saudi. He's a Saudi so.
- 51:01Right now he's a he's a Rav and he has a shul.
- 51:03Like is that at the makeup? Of he, he used to, he used to be
- 51:10just in a coiled part of my cabala.
- 51:12He was always infatuated with Cabala, OK, when even when it
- 51:16was a bocher. And Kabbalah, I don't know most
- 51:20communities, but in communities where we grew up, Kabbalah was
- 51:23taboo. It's like it's not meant for
- 51:24only for someone who is already four years old or something,
- 51:27whatever. And Bresliff and Kabbalah, both
- 51:30of them were to look down upon. Oh, he's breast like like he's
- 51:35tripping, especially in the places where he grew up, which
- 51:40was Europe more like everything is like very formal and polished
- 51:43and like no craziness, you know. And but he was always infatuated
- 51:50with these Sid Durham that have all these Shamus Siddarari and
- 51:55Siddarama Rashash and until today he dams in that
- 51:57Dilsiddarian. But Peshwas Kareva always would
- 52:03say that people would come and complain, these Bochers going
- 52:06around with the shameless thing, and it's not appropriate.
- 52:09You say like allow him, he's allowed to you.
- 52:12Know wow, wow. But he was always very into it.
- 52:15He pushed himself. He's just a guy.
- 52:16He's a tally. What is a tally?
- 52:18Chevy? People tell you become italic is
- 52:20someone who is not afraid to fall, somebody who is just
- 52:26focused in the business, who is who is the biggest guy?
- 52:30Somebody who is not afraid of challenges.
- 52:32Somebody who just breaks through every challenge and just drives
- 52:35on 100 miles an hour and does not look back.
- 52:38It just goes forward and avoids the gym.
- 52:40This is what he does. He's just pushing and pushing
- 52:42and pushing and pushing and he's not pushing anybody the same
- 52:46time he allows, you know these people who we call second class
- 52:50or people who who are usually not looked up upon.
- 52:54He encourages that and he's my achievement.
- 52:56He's just pushing and pushing and pushing.
- 52:59I wanted to go Hanukkah and I wanted to go in Oman.
- 53:04I wasn't there this year. Rosh Hashanah wanted to go there
- 53:06for this Hanukkah. He went there.
- 53:08So I called him up like, am I invited?
- 53:13Can I come? He's like, do you Shiva open
- 53:15yet? I'm like, no, but we're like
- 53:17almost, almost there. He's like, I'll have your mind
- 53:20open your Shiva. I got you.
- 53:23Like whatever you think of doing there, I'll I'll, you know, I'll
- 53:27do that. And he was just pushing me and
- 53:29pushing and pushing me. For for those listening, the
- 53:32Shiva that you have is meant for who?
- 53:34These are meant for boys that technically can't are being
- 53:39thrown out or had to leave the issue because they didn't feel
- 53:43that they get them or it's very hard to like categorize such a
- 53:48type of boys. Boys who didn't make it in
- 53:50mainstream yeshivas and they're currently on the street without
- 53:54a yeshiva and they still would like to be in a yeshiva
- 53:58environment. A lot of boys are burnt out and
- 54:00they're like not going to go into fail again and they don't
- 54:04even give it a chance. And as I understand it, these
- 54:06are kids from all over the world.
- 54:07These are these are kids from everywhere.
- 54:09Everywhere. The more I'll see the show
- 54:10backgrounds though. Yeah, this, this is what I
- 54:12could, yeah, you know, like facilitate.
- 54:14I could facilitate it. That's.
- 54:15What he relates to that's. What I relate to and that's what
- 54:18I feel I could. So somebody wants to find out
- 54:20more or get involved or support it.
- 54:22What do they do? Who would they?
- 54:23Reach out to me. Reach out to.
- 54:25You, I mean, this can be the first type of school like this.
- 54:28I mean, you're talking about for in the Hasidic environment,
- 54:31right? That culture for the boys that
- 54:33didn't fit the mold and didn't do well in the system.
- 54:36And now they're sort of out of options.
- 54:38They go to a school like this, right, to try to rebuild them
- 54:41and try to reshape them, right, to stay the course, but in a
- 54:44sort of a different style, right?
- 54:46This is the first time such a thing existed.
- 54:48There can't be, I imagine. That there's a lot of school
- 54:50like the uniqueness of what I, of what I provide.
- 54:53Absolutely. Show me.
- 54:55OK, there's Schmo Brazil, right? You've heard of Schmo, Brazil.
- 55:00I've heard of him, but I don't know much about yeah.
- 55:02But he's a singer technically that has yeshiva, but he's not a
- 55:07singer as yeshiva. He's yeshiva that is also a
- 55:09singer. Being that Yoshihiva is cool.
- 55:13Yoshihiva is not somebody who's a very hush of a guy that they
- 55:17don't feel threatened of. That's that's, that's very
- 55:21unique. Got it.
- 55:22So what you're doing is a little bit of a spin here.
- 55:25It's not so much this concept that's new, it's this model with
- 55:29you at the helm of it that is that secret sauce, right?
- 55:32That's different. Right right away it makes them
- 55:35feel calmer and the staff that I have are not people who have
- 55:40certain agendas of all this is how the school should run.
- 55:43They're just people with good hearts.
- 55:46They're just want to adopt, to make, to create an environment.
- 55:50Got it. This is also again now
- 55:52understand, I don't want to be like, oh, I figured it out and I
- 55:55got the best thing and a lot. The point is that of course, I'm
- 55:58sure there is out there something similar to this, but
- 56:03it's not something that is There's a lot of it.
- 56:06I know there's I know there's the Shiva's in Israel similar to
- 56:12this. I know that there's in Lakewood
- 56:17similar to this, like Eaton town and there is left right over
- 56:21here. But again, every, everybody
- 56:23caters to a different type of like I, I wouldn't recommend
- 56:28someone who's struggling with Chavez to be in the same yeshiva
- 56:31environment of someone who who doesn't struggle with Chavez.
- 56:35And I don't recommend someone who struggles with his social
- 56:40issues, but someone who doesn't struggle with delicious.
- 56:44So that's what people don't realize.
- 56:46It's important to create an environment for all types of so
- 56:51so not like that. I'm the only guy who outside of
- 56:54the regular system. There there are, there are there
- 56:57are the Shivas who are created for ADD for kids with ADD.
- 57:03There are, there are yeshivas who, who are created for kids
- 57:06who are totally like throwing away their religion.
- 57:11Like they don't they, they, they don't keep Shabbos and they,
- 57:16they don't put fill in and you know, it's amazing.
- 57:19And when I technically open it, it was just a group of boys who
- 57:24didn't have they didn't, they didn't have each Eva.
- 57:27And so I technically opened and created a system around their,
- 57:32their struggles, their, you know, that group.
- 57:34And then as time was going on, as new boys came to me without
- 57:38knowing what this is and you know, their struggles shifted in
- 57:43a different direction. I changed the vibe and the staff
- 57:45according to their that I don't think there is, I don't think
- 57:49there is a chameleon and Ashish Shiva who is OK and willing to
- 57:55shift shape and colours. According to now me, I'm also
- 58:01human and I can also handle what I can handle.
- 58:04As I said, I can only cater to the city boys because I don't
- 58:08connect to the culture of that because I wasn't brought up that
- 58:10way. So I don't know exactly, you
- 58:13know, how did it handle that? Yeah, so I'm, I'm also not a a
- 58:17total chameleon, right. But in my in my citizen
- 58:20community, there isn't something that.
- 58:24What a nice, what a nice thing. So nice.
- 58:26I mean, you're singing, bringing smiles on people's faces.
- 58:29Then as if that's not enough, you're also shaping the future
- 58:34for these young boys that are lost and need some direction.
- 58:38And you do get in a way that's palatable for them in a way that
- 58:41they could find joy in it, right?
- 58:43And you're showing them, look, take me as an example.
- 58:45I'm just like, you guys went to the same system as you, the same
- 58:48upbringing as you. And look, I turned out pretty OK
- 58:50and I'm and I'm happy. And there's a way to have life
- 58:53and still be functional in society.
- 58:55You don't have to change. You don't have to become
- 58:58something else. You can still be you and you
- 59:00could still have a wonderful life that has so much to offer,
- 59:04right? That's sort of what you're
- 59:04showing them by example, which which is amazing.
- 59:07So, so it's, I'm not technically telling them that, but
- 59:10subconsciously that's this is what they're feeling, right?
- 59:13It's like, you know, this is something that I can look up to.
- 59:16Yeah. This doesn't bring me any trauma
- 59:19and issues. Like I don't relate my failures
- 59:21with this type of behavior. So let me try to look into this
- 59:25option. And that's that's where they
- 59:27feel encouraged. Yeah.
- 59:29So just for, just just to understand, like, so let's say I
- 59:31sat down with the boys, we started learning a particular
- 59:34thing that I, I felt that I'm, I'm good at to be able to give
- 59:38it over to them. And let's say it was Gamar and I
- 59:42started learning and I see that well, like I'm pushing a wall,
- 59:45like it's not working. Then at some point I'm like, who
- 59:49from who from this group does not know how to read Hebrew and
- 59:5875% of these boys are raising their hands.
- 1:00:01How's that possible? What does that mean?
- 1:00:02They failed. They grew.
- 1:00:03Up in regular firm homes you. Wonder why they failed Because
- 1:00:06they did not get the proper. What do you mean they're not
- 1:00:09failing? That's just completely missing
- 1:00:11the boat. Are you telling me that they
- 1:00:12never learned as an 8 year old, as a 10 year old how to read?
- 1:00:17Yes. So what I did is, guys, Gamora
- 1:00:22closed, we're starting a new program next week, and I right
- 1:00:25away have to call professionals. Call Robert Ready.
- 1:00:28Exactly. I would think you would know
- 1:00:30this beforehand. Like, how did you discover this
- 1:00:33right then when you were starting to look at them and
- 1:00:35you're like, wait a second, they can't even read.
- 1:00:36I cannot, I cannot take in this voice, sending them this strict
- 1:00:41contract that most first of all you.
- 1:00:44Take anybody so you're not really.
- 1:00:45Why would I point out right away, before I meet them, their
- 1:00:48issues and their struggles? Why?
- 1:00:49Would that issues I'm sorry to discover or to do like an
- 1:00:51assessment of where they are, where they're holding like you
- 1:00:54know what this board will. Be doing an assessment if I'm
- 1:00:56anyways going to deal with it. Right.
- 1:00:58You say you're taking anybody you're doing it all, but I'm
- 1:01:00surprised that 75% of them couldn't even read that shows
- 1:01:03that this is a rampant issue that could be happening because
- 1:01:06this is not yes, it wasn't one boy or two boys that rate 75% of
- 1:01:10them just couldn't read that's insane, right?
- 1:01:12And by the way, if he wasn't doing what he's doing and making
- 1:01:15this platform available and creating this environment,
- 1:01:17they'd be on the streets at a certain point during God knows
- 1:01:20why they. Were on the streets.
- 1:01:21Everybody from my yeshiva was on the streets.
- 1:01:24Unbelievable. It's really, really.
- 1:01:25Everybody. I had certain boys who were just
- 1:01:28shoved in into certain yeshivas that it was called yeshivas, but
- 1:01:32it was just people that tried to care and it just neglected them.
- 1:01:37They were fit and they were like, you know, I've, I've done
- 1:01:40the worst. I've, I've been exposed to
- 1:01:43everything that a 16 year old boy shouldn't be exposed to.
- 1:01:47But I came from that place and that's where I do not want to
- 1:01:51go. Like, I will give me a chance.
- 1:01:54Yeah. And I'm like, great.
- 1:01:55Amazing. Let's do this.
- 1:01:57Yeah, very well, that's something right on this topic,
- 1:01:58because I have noticed as we're this podcast, developing your
- 1:02:02mind really works very quickly and you keep getting distracted.
- 1:02:06Like you'll talk about one topic and then you'll talk, you'll
- 1:02:09bring in a a story. Just remember that another one
- 1:02:12and another one like you can go on for for a long time.
- 1:02:14It's fantastic. Like, you have so much
- 1:02:16information that's stored up in your brain, right?
- 1:02:18So I I have that issue and but somehow Seattle this mind when I
- 1:02:22give it when I I talk to the boys and I just go from topic to
- 1:02:25topic to topic to topic, somehow my manal always tells me
- 1:02:30somebody always managed to tie everything up.
- 1:02:32You circle back. But that, that's a talent that
- 1:02:34Hashem gave me as an artist, which I, you know, everything,
- 1:02:38obviously, you know, that's the reason why I went from this
- 1:02:40topic to this topic. So as an artist, I see it as a
- 1:02:42picture. So everything is like
- 1:02:44intertwined. Like it's like a picture.
- 1:02:46It's like. Yeah, and I've seen it here.
- 1:02:48I've seen how you've got, you've veered off a few times, but you
- 1:02:51always come right back to it and you tie it all in, which is, you
- 1:02:54know, very interesting. Thank you.
- 1:02:55So you create, you clearly have that creative mind.
- 1:02:59You're obviously someone who thinks differently and you've
- 1:03:02done things a cut above what just the mainstream Jewish
- 1:03:06person growing up. Like, by the way, we grew up
- 1:03:08similar to you. We didn't go see this, right?
- 1:03:10But at the end of the day, we all grew up from, and I think
- 1:03:12there's a lot of similarities in that, right?
- 1:03:14And very few people can say that they've sang in front of
- 1:03:19hundreds of thousands of people. They've put out records.
- 1:03:23Their face is, you know, plastered around town.
- 1:03:26You're known all over the place. I'd be very surprised if you
- 1:03:28walked into a room full of people and 80% of them didn't
- 1:03:31know who you are. So, you know, that's got to
- 1:03:33carry a lot of weight for you. That's that can't be easy.
- 1:03:36It's fun, but it's fun for the first, you know, 5-10 minutes.
- 1:03:38Eventually it becomes a drag. It becomes a burden to have to
- 1:03:42deal with that type of consequence, you know?
- 1:03:44So do you enjoy that? Do you like this part?
- 1:03:47Do you hate it? You're somewhere in the middle.
- 1:03:49How do you deal with it? I hate.
- 1:03:51It you hate it, hate it, everything about it, there isn't
- 1:03:55any part of it that you like because you do seem like a very
- 1:04:01subtle more, you know, to the softer, quieter side.
- 1:04:04So you know, for me, I would love, I love the limelight.
- 1:04:07I mean, I put me on an island with nature and I'll, I'll, I'll
- 1:04:13be in heaven. That's crazy.
- 1:04:15That's just crazy that you are that kind of personality, yet
- 1:04:19everything that you're doing is a total confliction to that you
- 1:04:23are. You are not by any means, you
- 1:04:24know, behind the scenes. You want to hear something crazy
- 1:04:27When I'm on the stage on a Hess concert or in front of thousands
- 1:04:32of people and I sing, I am on my island.
- 1:04:38So you don't get nervous. I know.
- 1:04:40You're totally zoned out, you're checked out, you're like in your
- 1:04:42own world. Like in my own world.
- 1:04:45That's a nice ability to be able to do that.
- 1:04:47That's got to be a certain trick to it, like an art form to be
- 1:04:50able to do that. Most people get sucked into the,
- 1:04:51you know, to the moment and they get caught up what's going on.
- 1:04:55They get all nervous. And it's not as meaningful for
- 1:04:57you. Let's go to where Oshi wanted to
- 1:04:59go before. So first of all, what's the
- 1:05:00biggest crowd you've ever sang to?
- 1:05:03So anything that has to do with memorizing stuff that happened
- 1:05:06in the past, you're not going to get a very accurate answer.
- 1:05:09It's OK, I'm going to think what's the biggest crowd that I
- 1:05:12said? Approximately, you know, a live
- 1:05:14crowd. A live crowd.
- 1:05:16Biggest crowd. Above 10,000 let.
- 1:05:19Me think uman is not 10,000. Hask.
- 1:05:24Hask is not 10,000. A few 1000, right?
- 1:05:26Yeah, and Israel, I've done, I've done concerts in Israel.
- 1:05:30The word 10,000 people. Well.
- 1:05:32Yeah. Was it just you or was it a
- 1:05:34group of people? No, it wasn't a solo solo Barry
- 1:05:37concert. Have you ever done those?
- 1:05:38I, I, I did it maybe twice. Yeah.
- 1:05:41Like a just a Barry concert. What kind of singer do you
- 1:05:43consider yourself? Are you like a soul singer?
- 1:05:47Do you consider yourself to be a jazz, Blues, folksy pop?
- 1:05:53Like what do you do a little bit of?
- 1:05:54Everything being, you know, the environment that I grew up, you
- 1:05:58know, all these names that you just mentioned is something that
- 1:06:01was totally not in my conscious or in my education and the only
- 1:06:07way I would find out is by like listening to non Jewish music or
- 1:06:11to educate myself. Do you even know what genre is I
- 1:06:14was just talking about? I by now I know by.
- 1:06:16Now you must know. I've bumped into, you know, here
- 1:06:18and there. This is your industry, right?
- 1:06:21You got to have the jargon. So, so, but it's not in my
- 1:06:24blood, right? So if I would have to say, you
- 1:06:28know what my soul is like, what type of I would say soul, soul?
- 1:06:33OK. Yeah, OK.
- 1:06:36But, but necessarily, you know what I have to do in order to
- 1:06:42get my dough, you know? You do what it takes, you sing
- 1:06:46anything, anything. Any non Jewish singers that you
- 1:06:51sort of resonate with, connect to you feel like that's sort of
- 1:06:54your style, your vibe? Do you listen to non Jewish
- 1:06:57music? Though I don't officially,
- 1:07:01although I can't say that I never listened to, you know, to,
- 1:07:04you know, because I was, you know, introduced to it and so
- 1:07:08on. But.
- 1:07:10It's for research and development purposes.
- 1:07:11No, no, not even that. I like mean to say like I never
- 1:07:15had a like a song list of non Jewish music.
- 1:07:17Yeah, but like, remember when I when I was in Shiva Mir, there
- 1:07:22was one guy who was into a certain artist called Eminem.
- 1:07:27I'm so shady. OK, So he would listen to that.
- 1:07:30Yeah. And I, you know, I wasn't going
- 1:07:32to be that annoying guy who turn it off because I was, you know,
- 1:07:36I was open minded. So Eminem was in.
- 1:07:39So that's like hip hop, that's rap, you know?
- 1:07:41But, but did I ever get into rap?
- 1:07:45No. Not rap.
- 1:07:46Is there somebody you appreciate like a Billy Joel?
- 1:07:48An Elvis Presley. Jackson was.
- 1:07:50Michael Jackson. You know, I think Michael
- 1:07:52Jackson is beyond OK genius. Think.
- 1:07:56What's his name? The Rasta guy.
- 1:07:59The what guy? Prep prep.
- 1:08:00What's his name? Sing it.
- 1:08:05No woman, no crap. Bob Marley.
- 1:08:08Bob Marley. Bob Marley, OK, he was a big
- 1:08:10child. There you go.
- 1:08:11Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:08:12He had a lot of soul. OK, Yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:08:14Yeah. I think he's Exali, Yeah.
- 1:08:19I don't know. Never listened to Billy Joel.
- 1:08:22I never listened to The Beatles. Never find like interest in
- 1:08:26that. So everything you come up with
- 1:08:29is entirely your own, deep from within your soul.
- 1:08:31And you don't take any inspirations from anyone else.
- 1:08:34Or you have your own lane, you have your own.
- 1:08:37You do your own thing, right? Yeah, OK.
- 1:08:40I'm very curious about this because I really think that this
- 1:08:42is something that's lacking in the Jewish arena.
- 1:08:46I do think that it's getting a little bit like the Thank You
- 1:08:49Hashem movement, right? With the types of songs that
- 1:08:51they put out. I think that they're sort of
- 1:08:53finding a little niche that's a little bit more modernized and
- 1:08:56compelling for the younger generation.
- 1:08:59And I love the fact that my kid, he's 8 year olds, he loves Thank
- 1:09:03You Hashem. And he loves their songs like he
- 1:09:04loves, He loves also like zusha. He loves zusha.
- 1:09:09I love zusha, by the way. I'm, I'm obsessed with zusha.
- 1:09:12I love their songs. I think that it adds a whole new
- 1:09:15type of flavor that we didn't really have in our music for a
- 1:09:19long time. Yeah, it's more just jazz, not
- 1:09:20just. I don't know, it's that thing
- 1:09:22that was missing. That missing, yeah, but I think
- 1:09:24like the EDM concept, right, they bring to that.
- 1:09:26Too, But yeah. Also, but they're what I think
- 1:09:29we're we're still missing is somewhat of the like you
- 1:09:34mentioned earlier that you had a music video that you put out and
- 1:09:36that was like so such a taboo thing to do.
- 1:09:38That was like so abnormal, right?
- 1:09:41But now it's like a very normal thing.
- 1:09:42You see every song that people put out, it was with a music.
- 1:09:44Video. But not one year.
- 1:09:45Nobody. Right, right.
- 1:09:47So I think what's what's still missing is sort of that
- 1:09:50collection of and I I think I was telling this to Yaakov
- 1:09:55Langer when he was on our podcast, his influencers is
- 1:09:58people going beyond just the music part is also to let people
- 1:10:02into their lives and to make you know, everything about what
- 1:10:06they're doing and share it with the public and share it with
- 1:10:09right now. It's just that we have singers,
- 1:10:10we have, you know, what people have put on plays and every sort
- 1:10:13of their role, what you know, their lane, but nobody, it's
- 1:10:16just them. Let's follow them, everything
- 1:10:19that they're doing and in the greatest world and the non
- 1:10:21Jewish role, you have a ton of those people and you know, not
- 1:10:23always are they, you know, portraying the best things,
- 1:10:27right? So why can't we have someone
- 1:10:29who's a cool person, Someone Like You, right, who's very
- 1:10:32talented. And I don't just want to see you
- 1:10:34sing, I want to see you with the boys that you're mentoring.
- 1:10:38I want to see that. I want to see you at home, how
- 1:10:41you interacting with your kids. Now, you may not want to share,
- 1:10:43that's fine. And maybe not even you, but
- 1:10:45somebody who's on the public stage to totally capitalize on
- 1:10:48this and to go a step above. I haven't seen that yet.
- 1:10:51And I think it's necessary and I think that it would be great for
- 1:10:55my son to be able to follow an influencer that's in our
- 1:10:59culture, in our circles versus potentially following, I don't
- 1:11:03know, God knows who, you know, that's out there on social
- 1:11:05media. Why don't we find those people,
- 1:11:07replace it for these children so they have somebody to look up to
- 1:11:10or somebody to look up to, somebody to follow.
- 1:11:12Do you understand what I'm saying?
- 1:11:14Are you with me? Yes, so the SO.
- 1:11:17Really, he's the wrong guy every.
- 1:11:18No, no, he's not the wrong guy. Why is he the wrong guy?
- 1:11:20The. Guy to talk about it?
- 1:11:21No. No meaning because you're an
- 1:11:22introvert, you were saying earlier.
- 1:11:23And I have a lot to tell. No, but I want to hear his
- 1:11:25theories. I want to hear his ideas.
- 1:11:27Being an introvert, it's not that I hate people.
- 1:11:29I love socializing. Yeah.
- 1:11:30No, no, no. But I'm saying I mean Hammer has
- 1:11:32to follow you around. Let me tell you something, me
- 1:11:35being introvert me to say that I'm OK being by myself, I could
- 1:11:41I could entertain myself, right? Right.
- 1:11:43I don't need. The huge talent.
- 1:11:44By the I was not running after the center of.
- 1:11:46Gasoline is not by getting feedback from people.
- 1:11:50I get my own feedback in my brain.
- 1:11:52That's what I'm meant to say. I love socializing, I love
- 1:11:54characters, I love different people, I love different
- 1:11:57cultures. For me, it's very colorful and
- 1:11:59entertaining and I love taking it into my world and analyzing
- 1:12:02it into my world. It's not like I'm not a people
- 1:12:04hater. I'm, I'm fine being by myself.
- 1:12:08So then I don't need to be in the public.
- 1:12:10That's that's one thing. But we were saying, what I
- 1:12:14wanted to say is that the good thing about evolution and time
- 1:12:18is that everything that you just thought about or everything that
- 1:12:21you're fantasizing or hoping or dreaming is going to happen one
- 1:12:24day. Because if not, it wouldn't
- 1:12:27enter your brain, right? And, and, and because it entered
- 1:12:31your brain and you're speaking about it, somebody's going to
- 1:12:34hear about it and it's going to attract something that that
- 1:12:37should happen eventually. This is what I believe.
- 1:12:39But the fact is the in the Jewish culture, especially in
- 1:12:45the Dati culture, the focus, the, the, the focus of, you
- 1:12:51know, the, the, the people that we look up to is based torridic.
- 1:12:56It's based. We are one nation.
- 1:12:59We are so amazing not because we're going to be amazing, it's
- 1:13:02because we were amazing. And of course we are evolving to
- 1:13:06be amazing, but because we have a what kept us together 2000
- 1:13:10years. We have no country, right?
- 1:13:12We have nothing that kept us in one place.
- 1:13:15It wasn't the language because Hebrew just came back.
- 1:13:18It wasn't there for 2000 years. Of course, now we see things are
- 1:13:22reshaping and that's a sole but Hashem.
- 1:13:25But for 2000 years, what kept us that we shouldn't disintegrate
- 1:13:29what, what what and and us more of any nation we were fought at,
- 1:13:36we would try to be destroyed. What kept us together.
- 1:13:40It was the Toyota that that that ideology that the Toyota is
- 1:13:45giving you how you should behave, how what you should do
- 1:13:48and you should know because you know, those people who came to
- 1:13:51America, for instance, like those people who came because
- 1:13:54they ran away from Europe and they want their created
- 1:13:56themselves a, you know, a comfortable life over here.
- 1:13:59And they had the struggle with Chavez keeping Chavez so on like
- 1:14:02I'm talking about in the 1940s and 19 before that and after
- 1:14:07that those Chavez was a struggle.
- 1:14:10There were certain people who were missing a fish every
- 1:14:12weekend. We can't really fathom, you
- 1:14:14know, you know, think, think of a lifestyle where you cannot
- 1:14:18commit yourself to be in a job because you know that every week
- 1:14:20you have to quit and you have to try again every Sunday.
- 1:14:24Like what, what type of life is that?
- 1:14:25But some people do that. But the people who couldn't,
- 1:14:29people who weren't, you know, meant or weren't strong enough
- 1:14:32to be able to, to fight those challenge, they would do the
- 1:14:36best they, they could, you know, they would keep their job.
- 1:14:41They would try to walk to work instead of riding to work, but
- 1:14:44they had to go to work. They needed to feed their
- 1:14:47family, their little children. They couldn't stand looking at
- 1:14:50children being hungry. They they what we would call it.
- 1:14:53They weren't junkies. They they couldn't just throw
- 1:14:55away their dreams just because OK, I'll try my best.
- 1:15:00So they had a sheer shabbas morning.
- 1:15:02They get up 6:00 go to shul. Darvin had a sheer learning to
- 1:15:06do They they did something extra coverage.
- 1:15:08I was whatever. I don't know what it was, but it
- 1:15:10was probably like in order for them to like lose a little of
- 1:15:13their guilt, but then they had to do the thing to survive.
- 1:15:16They went now these, these children, they saw their father
- 1:15:24working in Chavez, which means not keeping Chavez.
- 1:15:27And but they also saw their father doing a Suda 6:00 in the
- 1:15:30morning. Did they get up 6:00 in the
- 1:15:32morning and do a Suda? No, they're like, just I'll take
- 1:15:35the good part of it. I can work the shops, you know,
- 1:15:39and so never 3 generations later, they have nothing to do
- 1:15:43to identify with Judaism besides, you know, little here
- 1:15:47and there like a have a Chanukah menorah or heaven starve David.
- 1:15:52Yeah, but this, this is their Yiddish guide.
- 1:15:55What kept Yiddish guide thriving throughout all generations?
- 1:15:58You have to agree. It was it was the Toyota.
- 1:16:01The base in English was destroyed.
- 1:16:02That was the epitome of Karl. That was like, oh, you see, this
- 1:16:05is untouchable. This is God's building.
- 1:16:07And then these Romans came and just said God's building, you're
- 1:16:11a nobody. What kept colleagues all
- 1:16:13together. It was the toilet.
- 1:16:16So throughout generation, if you want to look at influencers,
- 1:16:19somebody who should you should look at it as a role model.
- 1:16:23Although there are some simple Jews that have you know how they
- 1:16:27called meek Amphys romance and MKY moments and we still get
- 1:16:31inspired. But simply like me and you and
- 1:16:34you. It is inspiration that helps us
- 1:16:37in our life to enhance it. But really what where we look up
- 1:16:40to are the scholars, the people who lead the toy, who spread the
- 1:16:45toy and so on and so on. And that's probably what it's
- 1:16:47meant for us in order for Collegeville to be together.
- 1:16:50And that's probably what it's going to be.
- 1:16:52But it definitely is going to evolve as we see today.
- 1:16:55Singers weren't the thing 80 years ago, right?
- 1:17:01We don't know of songs that were 300 years old.
- 1:17:03Can you sing me a song that's 300 years old?
- 1:17:07Can you sing me a song that is 4400 years old?
- 1:17:10Come on. There was no singing back then.
- 1:17:12There was Kaiser wasn't That wasn't something that kept, you
- 1:17:17know, that moved Judaism together.
- 1:17:21So therefore there was no reason why, you know, a singer should
- 1:17:26be someone who should be a thing that you should look up to.
- 1:17:29But today, singing is what is really giving us gasoline, as
- 1:17:34you can see, you know, the, the young generation, that's the,
- 1:17:37it's the oxygen. They're reading it up so.
- 1:17:39You will find that people like me are going to be looked up to,
- 1:17:42you know, And look, I have a Shiva.
- 1:17:45I didn't, I didn't decide one that I want to be a Shiva.
- 1:17:48They were drawn to me. And God, as Graca Pratis LED
- 1:17:53that it should be that way, right?
- 1:17:56And because you think it's a cool idea, it will happen.
- 1:17:59It will happen one day and as we can see on social media, there
- 1:18:02are influencers that are not Dafka, Toyota, Toyota scholars
- 1:18:05and it's going to happen more and more.
- 1:18:07It's just we come from a place where the right thing to do is
- 1:18:11to look up at a rabbit, at a manic, at a, at a Poisik and so
- 1:18:16on and so on because this is what really, you know, held us
- 1:18:20together all these years. But now we're right before
- 1:18:22Mashiach. So things are starting to
- 1:18:26integrate a little bit. You know the things are.
- 1:18:29OK. So you're saying that, you know,
- 1:18:30we have a little bit of this dynamic already, you know, with
- 1:18:33the the singers, you know, and it's LED you to be able to give
- 1:18:37back in a really strong way with these other kids that you're
- 1:18:41right, that you're helping. And look, I think it's beautiful
- 1:18:44what you're what you're saying. And I agree a lot.
- 1:18:47The one thing that really is tying us all together is the
- 1:18:50laws, right? It's not just our tradition, you
- 1:18:52know, the history, it's that we follow along the same path,
- 1:18:56right? The same guiding light, that
- 1:18:57same shining light. The Torres are shining light.
- 1:19:00Sure, but I got to sound the alarm here.
- 1:19:02And I've said this before. I got to pull the fire alarm, my
- 1:19:05friend, because there's a fire. It's only smoke right now, but
- 1:19:09there's a fire brewery. And I'm telling you that this is
- 1:19:11not going to cut it. It's just not going to cut it
- 1:19:12anymore because, you know, 30 years ago and prior to that, for
- 1:19:17thousands of years, you knew what was going on in your little
- 1:19:20town. And then, you know, the Jewish
- 1:19:23people tried to really keep what was going on in their little
- 1:19:25tiny community, right? You didn't know what was going
- 1:19:27on in the world. And it wasn't, it wasn't so
- 1:19:29inviting and it wasn't so accessible.
- 1:19:31Now as we're developing in the digital age, it's becoming way
- 1:19:36more accessible. So whether we like it or not,
- 1:19:39the kids, the, the youth, the younger generation, they're
- 1:19:42seeing, both sides are seeing what their parents are giving
- 1:19:45them and what their teachers are giving them and all the
- 1:19:47beautiful things that, you know, our culture has to offer.
- 1:19:49And it's wonderful, but it's unavoidable.
- 1:19:52There's another evil force, whatever you want to call it,
- 1:19:55that's out there that's also drawing them in.
- 1:19:58And it's hard to look away. It's hard to look away.
- 1:20:01So I would rather give them what's out there in a certain,
- 1:20:06you know, in a different way that I'm comfortable with that I
- 1:20:09would rather reposition it for them over here because if I
- 1:20:12don't, they're going to go looking for it elsewhere, right?
- 1:20:15So why not? When I meant by this concept of
- 1:20:18finding, you know, guys like you to become full time influencers,
- 1:20:21to really showcase your entire life and make it like it's cool,
- 1:20:25it's great. You could have the most amazing
- 1:20:27life. You could be a firm Jew and
- 1:20:29follow the turret and follow everything and still succeed and
- 1:20:33do great things, you know, and these other people are, I don't
- 1:20:36want them looking even over there for some type of
- 1:20:38entertainment value that they might be getting that isn't
- 1:20:41going to serve them. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:20:43That's all I'm saying is we need more of the, you know, media
- 1:20:47attention with Jewish things, right?
- 1:20:50Not just hearing about Israel all the time, you know, and how
- 1:20:53awful and evil, you know, Israel is, right?
- 1:20:55We, we, we actually should be putting some positive things,
- 1:20:58you know, and you know, Jewish inventors, you know, Jewish
- 1:21:00philosophers, Jewish artists, right?
- 1:21:03Things like this that the kids could get behind.
- 1:21:06That's all, That's all I'm saying.
- 1:21:07And you're right. It is, it is, by the way,
- 1:21:09getting more and more like this. You're 100% right from in the
- 1:21:12last five years, we've made leaps and bounds and really big
- 1:21:14strides in how how far we're going.
- 1:21:17It starts from schema kala. Look, Slim Kala is a world
- 1:21:19sensation, Yes. Yeah.
- 1:21:20There's not a little town that doesn't have a kala.
- 1:21:24Me. I'm talking even the most.
- 1:21:26The most? There's a tear to my eye that
- 1:21:27you weren't able to listen to Sloma Kala.
- 1:21:29And you know, Michael, it's really, really, I was how many
- 1:21:32times I've heard you say in this podcast probably five times,
- 1:21:34maybe more, maybe 7-8 times, you know, like growing up, you know,
- 1:21:38by in our culture, you know, we weren't able to do this or it's
- 1:21:41not OK to do that. So many of these like it's not
- 1:21:45OK and don't send like you can't.
- 1:21:47And like, what a tough way to grow up.
- 1:21:49What a hard way to grow up. You know what, Michael, you know
- 1:21:52what I'm saying? What's up with that?
- 1:21:54Like you got to have a little bit more allowances and
- 1:21:56flexibility. And like you said, you're doing
- 1:21:57this for your boys in your school is your customizing
- 1:22:00things and you're adapting look. I'm not trying to be like, you
- 1:22:05know, the serious guy in the room, and I don't want to make
- 1:22:08you look like the liberal guy in the room.
- 1:22:10That's what's happening here, by the way.
- 1:22:12That's literally what's happening.
- 1:22:13I'm like becoming way more to 1:00 on the other side and like.
- 1:22:16Perfect way to end the podcast. Go ahead, let's hear it.
- 1:22:19But I think you would agree that there's certain things that you
- 1:22:21wouldn't expose your kids. And depending on the age, you
- 1:22:25know, you know, certain things that you could trust them with
- 1:22:28and certainly that you could. You feel it now.
- 1:22:30Then you'll find a different a different household that they
- 1:22:34are more liberal to that and they would think that you're
- 1:22:37crazy for being so strict and so on, so disciplined and so on.
- 1:22:40You have to understand that the reason why there were certain
- 1:22:44restrictions and so on is all of it is, you know, nobody wants to
- 1:22:48be mean to their children. Nobody wants to just be nasty
- 1:22:52and so on. Everybody has a certain.
- 1:22:54The road to hell is paved with good intentions, right?
- 1:22:57Exactly, if you put it that way. That's what happens.
- 1:23:01They think they're doing the right thing.
- 1:23:02You know, sports. Sports is something that's not
- 1:23:05OK in the Hasidic communities. Absolutely not OK.
- 1:23:10They shouldn't watch it. They shouldn't be playing it
- 1:23:12right. I think that's such a big mess,
- 1:23:15but the same thing. It's such a big mess.
- 1:23:16But but you see, because you only see it from your
- 1:23:19perspective. You don't see it from their
- 1:23:20perspective. I'm not trying to be here.
- 1:23:22You know, God's good lawyer over here or see a good lawyer, but
- 1:23:26there's different rhyme and reason for everything.
- 1:23:28And I think everybody should be happy or open minded to just
- 1:23:33enhance their world according to what the tools that they have
- 1:23:36and according to it. Are you accepted in the see that
- 1:23:39you can look at the ultra see that you can use it in the
- 1:23:41monorails of the world? And they're like right now if
- 1:23:44you walk into Williamsburg shul to the main shul you walk in,
- 1:23:47are people applauding you or are people somewhat like very
- 1:23:51neutral about you? Like what's the reaction to?
- 1:23:53I'm not a hero. OK.
- 1:23:57But are they, are they distancing themselves or are you
- 1:23:59accepted in these, in these communities?
- 1:24:01Right now, yeah, because, you know, I, I walk their walk, I
- 1:24:04talk their talk. I mean, there's no reason why
- 1:24:06they should feel like I'm yeah, why?
- 1:24:09Why not? I mean, if they have certain, if
- 1:24:13certain communities have certain naive and close minded ways of
- 1:24:19thinking, yes, but it's OK. Like, you know, this, this is
- 1:24:25surround myself with, with, with, with people or with
- 1:24:28communities that I feel look up to me or where I feel like I'm
- 1:24:32being heard or I can be positive and looked at and act so on.
- 1:24:37I think everybody should do that.
- 1:24:39And I don't think we need to like be negative towards this.
- 1:24:43I'm not talking if somebody's not somebody's evil and I'm not
- 1:24:47talking in that sense. And of course has to be
- 1:24:48awareness that people have to be more caring and more good than
- 1:24:52me, be more selfless and more looking out for, for the for the
- 1:24:56youth and everything is good, but not everybody's capable of
- 1:24:59doing it. You like what you do You have
- 1:25:02any visions of sometimes? Thinking, you know, maybe I'd do
- 1:25:04something a little bit more risque.
- 1:25:06I do something a little bit more.
- 1:25:08Are you, are you mindful of that or is that just something that's
- 1:25:10natural to you and you like what you're doing?
- 1:25:12You're not even thinking about anything else?
- 1:25:14Or are you limiting yourself because you're trying to fit
- 1:25:18into a certain I? I'm definitely a politician when
- 1:25:22it comes to. Being making my environment and
- 1:25:28my fan base comfortable, I would not act, you know,
- 1:25:32inappropriately to cause them uncomfortability.
- 1:25:37So you're lucky representing and you're trying to not because I'm
- 1:25:40representing. I want them.
- 1:25:42To like me, I want them to hire me.
- 1:25:45I want them to think positive of me.
- 1:25:48So I would, you know, try to be a politician in that way.
- 1:25:53Like the, you know, like if I'm in a bad mood, like let's say I
- 1:25:57was, I was, somebody put me down, right?
- 1:26:02Or somebody stuck the. Energy out of me, you know, he
- 1:26:05was wasting my time too much and putting me in a corner and so
- 1:26:09on. And then now suddenly you have
- 1:26:11to sing this show. You have to be in a good mood.
- 1:26:14Should I sing the film or should I be a politician?
- 1:26:17You got to be a puppet. I got to be a politician.
- 1:26:19Yeah, right. I cannot.
- 1:26:21Disappoint my customer. I cannot disappoint my family.
- 1:26:24I cannot disappoint my people. I agree.
- 1:26:26But is that you? Is what I'm asking?
- 1:26:28Is that really, really you? What we're?
- 1:26:29Yes, what we're seeing, what we're seeing on stage, what
- 1:26:32we're hearing, you know, we're listening to music.
- 1:26:34Is that really what you want and what you are or, or this is what
- 1:26:38you are? No, naturally I'm, I'm, I'm in
- 1:26:40my, in my headspace. I'm just like.
- 1:26:43In my creativity, I'm like, just so what's next?
- 1:26:49Great question. What's next?
- 1:26:52What's? The dream.
- 1:26:53What's the evolution for Barry? Webber.
- 1:26:57Oh, for Barry, I am asking globally.
- 1:27:01But we can ask that as well. It's OK, It's OK.
- 1:27:03Well, that's. Part we're all on this journey
- 1:27:05with you. What I mean, we're all whatever
- 1:27:06you're going to be doing, we're. All going to be observing.
- 1:27:09We're like we're on the train, we're watching, right?
- 1:27:12So what's what's next for me individually and then I'll go
- 1:27:15globally? You know, I'll, I'll try to go
- 1:27:18there. What's next for me?
- 1:27:22Rebirth. Renewal Renault, I just started
- 1:27:27from new The Shiva. I'm putting out a new album and
- 1:27:31hopefully in a month or two. For me it's Renault.
- 1:27:35It's like a whole new message. You know, every, every probably
- 1:27:39the next year or two, you know, the songs that I'm going to be
- 1:27:42singing is going to be based on my new album and if you know.
- 1:27:51If I have to put it in a word. It's probably renewal.
- 1:27:53It's like my, my, my life just changed.
- 1:27:56I, I committed myself to be everyday in yeshiva for many
- 1:28:01hours and to care for these chunk of boys to be their father
- 1:28:05and their mother and their everything.
- 1:28:10And hopefully in my personal life as well, like once I'm in
- 1:28:13the zone to refresh my relationships with my children,
- 1:28:17with my family and my wife and my parents and my kids, like
- 1:28:21while I'm, while I'm in the Rolls Royce, why not, you know,
- 1:28:23just like have all the perks, you know, that's this, that's
- 1:28:28that's my personal life. What's next, Claudia?
- 1:28:33So I think unity because you know, as we see that, you know,
- 1:28:37technology, you know, everybody's in everybody's face
- 1:28:45in a sense like. It's like you can't.
- 1:28:47Hide anything anymore like it's people start by force, being
- 1:28:51people by force are being vulnerable and real.
- 1:28:54And you start like deciphering what's good, what's bad, what's
- 1:28:58evil, what's appropriate, what's not.
- 1:28:59Like things are happening like so fast.
- 1:29:02So I think the only way to survive is by accepting others
- 1:29:06by, you know, by saying, OK, I have that part of me, I could
- 1:29:11deal with it. I hope so.
- 1:29:15Love it. I love it too.
- 1:29:16OK, we always. End our podcast.
- 1:29:18With asking you. Who you would think would be a
- 1:29:22good guest sitting in that seat? Someone that you know, someone
- 1:29:25that you think would be someone that would add value to our
- 1:29:30listeners and our. Let me ask you this.
- 1:29:32Yeah. What do you really like?
- 1:29:34Want to like what? What?
- 1:29:35Do you want to hear from this, but you want it like to be a
- 1:29:37colorful thing or you specifically like different
- 1:29:40things? So you want, if you want, you
- 1:29:41can ask us, it says. None of none of which attracts
- 1:29:45you like. So you know something like the
- 1:29:47media, like something negative, then your business in blue like
- 1:29:53you, you're aware that this is the psychology of this.
- 1:29:55I never broke it down the. Way you just did by the way.
- 1:29:57I'm sure Ellie Bosch did when I never broke.
- 1:29:59It down. I'm looking at this thing for.
- 1:30:01I don't. Know over a year now.
- 1:30:02Yeah. You know, I never even like
- 1:30:03really thought about the fact that your business is in blue
- 1:30:06and that none of is is black. And that's kind of how we I
- 1:30:09don't think that was was like you guys are businessman and
- 1:30:11that's why it probably has the word business in it.
- 1:30:13You probably wanna track business.
- 1:30:14Right. We don't want to be to talk
- 1:30:16about business. No, we don't wanna talk about
- 1:30:18this. We don't want to talk so.
- 1:30:19None of you. I wanna talk about you.
- 1:30:20I learned today about very well. I have a whole different
- 1:30:23perspective on you. I had no idea that I didn't
- 1:30:27consider you to be a singer anymore.
- 1:30:28I really don't like I. It's not your essence.
- 1:30:31That's not who you are. Pretty wild.
- 1:30:33You are really like now. I get the spirituality part by
- 1:30:36the way you were trying to explain it early in the
- 1:30:38beginning. Like I'm a spiritual person.
- 1:30:40Nothing do religion, it's got nothing to do with it's strictly
- 1:30:44just a connection to just people and to just trying to get Better
- 1:30:48Together. I'll get better, you get better
- 1:30:50and let's figure it out. Let's see how we can be happy
- 1:30:52together. That's all what it's about for
- 1:30:54you. And that's that's an amazing
- 1:30:56thing. I have guests over my house,
- 1:30:57people who were, you know, behaving a certain way.
- 1:31:01And I would get feedback from my family, like, what do you have
- 1:31:04in common with this guy? Like he's so not your speed like
- 1:31:09and I would like, I'm like, why? Why?
- 1:31:12Don't I have encounter with this?
- 1:31:13Guy and they're going to be like you do AB and C and he does ABC.
- 1:31:17I'm like, wow, I didn't see that ABC.
- 1:31:20Like I just saw something like I saw the, the entertainment part
- 1:31:25of it or that part of it. It's like, yes, God has, I could
- 1:31:30call it gifted because, you know, it's, I, I think it's a
- 1:31:33positive thing. He's created me in a way that my
- 1:31:36brain sees, you know, a certain way, certain thing and that
- 1:31:40that's what attracts that. That's what allows me to be
- 1:31:44doing what I do, what I do, you know, to technically, if you
- 1:31:49think about it, I'm a guy that is in the 40s.
- 1:31:52You know, I'm, I'm a 40 year old and these kids are 16 year old.
- 1:31:56It could be very rough, you know, to go down the 16 year old
- 1:32:00brain, but I don't have to be in their brain.
- 1:32:03I don't have to walk this walk and talk a talk.
- 1:32:05I just have to connect two things that we have in common
- 1:32:09and boom, that's it. So anyways, going back to my
- 1:32:14question is none of your business.
- 1:32:16What is the type of like entertainment or or colors that
- 1:32:21you want to have that in order for you to ask, you want me just
- 1:32:23to pick a random name? I like that you're asking that
- 1:32:25it's generally growth oriented, meaning you could be an
- 1:32:28entertainer. You could.
- 1:32:29Be in CEO and you could be a politician, but how are you
- 1:32:32growing? What are your challenges?
- 1:32:33Where you from, what are you doing and what's next?
- 1:32:35That's the concept, meaning not your business.
- 1:32:37We could talk about your business for a minute, but the
- 1:32:40the, the, the growth aspect. So I think we covered most of
- 1:32:44it, but who am I think like this popped in my brain.
- 1:32:47That I think could like relate to the stuff that I'm saying.
- 1:32:51I could probably use You would You would look at him as like if
- 1:32:53you look at me as a. Monkey like, not not.
- 1:32:55In a bad way, but like a certain character, I think that person
- 1:32:59would also have that element in himself Is probably like Shlomo
- 1:33:02gazing from Zusha. Did you interview him yet?
- 1:33:06No, didn't we? Is this?
- 1:33:08Didn't he say he's coming out? He did.
- 1:33:10He did. Yeah.
- 1:33:11His, his was. Is it his brother?
- 1:33:13Who's not his brother, his partner, the Zakaria.
- 1:33:16Yeah, that he just moved recently.
- 1:33:17So Zusha. Zusha is just the name of the.
- 1:33:19Band, which is not. Sure, exactly if it's.
- 1:33:21Zusha, brother. So they said they have to come
- 1:33:25together. So they have to do a schedule
- 1:33:26where they come together, Yeah. Yeah, but you're right.
- 1:33:29That's a that's a good. That's a good.
- 1:33:31But spiritually I. Connect a lot with Shlomo.
- 1:33:34It's just I'm sure I'm connected to a lot of other.
- 1:33:36People but just this this. But every time I see him, I ask
- 1:33:39him to explain me line into Hillam.
- 1:33:42Oh, yeah, and he always does. And yeah, he's very connected.
- 1:33:45To have a Pinson, you know a Pinson is a very deep guy.
- 1:33:49Yeah, for sure. So he's one of your pick, but we
- 1:33:51already have him on the schedule, so we'll have to go.
- 1:33:53For another one, who's another one?
- 1:33:55Yeah. I mean, who would you like for
- 1:33:57it? Doesn't need to be a famous guy,
- 1:33:59no. He likes it when it's famous,
- 1:34:01but. I'm a very.
- 1:34:03Interesting person I like you know.
- 1:34:06Fun stuff. Put it this.
- 1:34:07Way if you open the podcast tomorrow, who would be your
- 1:34:09first guest? Oh, I.
- 1:34:13Wouldn't go for fun. Who?
- 1:34:15Would you go for? I would go probably for a
- 1:34:16psychologist for. Like a like a a deep thinker
- 1:34:22probably. Is there someone in mind that
- 1:34:23you have like? Someone that Manas Friedman.
- 1:34:26Manas Friedman, do you know him by chance?
- 1:34:28Yeah. Can you ask?
- 1:34:29Him to join. I could.
- 1:34:31I would love him. Yeah.
- 1:34:33He's. Am I supposed to know who that
- 1:34:34is? Yes.
- 1:34:36We're not going to get into that now, Denny.
- 1:34:37Friedman's father. The singer Benny Friedman.
- 1:34:41Yeah. He's awesome.
- 1:34:43He puts out a lot of great. Content and he delivers it very
- 1:34:47clearly and I'm a big fan, so if you can bring him on, that would
- 1:34:50be great. Yeah, you can ask him to join
- 1:34:52us. Awesome.
- 1:34:53Yeah, we usually ask the person to call him now on the thing,
- 1:34:55but we're not. Going to We're not going.
- 1:34:57To push you to that level now, unless you're OK with it, I'm
- 1:35:00OK. So call him.
- 1:35:02Oh, right now. Yeah, that's what he was saying.
- 1:35:05He usually wouldn't. Usually I would say call the guy
- 1:35:07right? Now and ask him to join and let
- 1:35:09him come on the year we'll have him.
- 1:35:10Do it live in real time thinking I.
- 1:35:15Should do that. That's why I was careful.
- 1:35:17He's already thinking, yeah, yeah, that if we let it.
- 1:35:19Go, let it go. We don't.
- 1:35:20Want to be too uncomfortable? Because I'm uncomfortable just
- 1:35:23because like, I like I'm. Thinking why should I do that?
- 1:35:25No. Why?
- 1:35:26Can I do it like, no, I do it later, Yeah.
- 1:35:28It's just more, it's more entertaining people watching to
- 1:35:30all the happy. Listeners, thank you.
