- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Alabama show.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Okay, so you know how you always think of like
- 0:18Speaker 2: really dumb, weird questions.
- 0:20Speaker 3: They're not dumb, but yeah.
- 0:22Speaker 2: So a guy explained to me yesterday. That guys always
- 0:27Speaker 2: think of stupid stuff. Like we were talking, I was
- 0:30Speaker 2: talking to a guy about like how women think and
- 0:32Speaker 2: what goes through our mind. Like when I get quiet,
- 0:34Speaker 2: I'm thinking about things I need to get done for
- 0:36Speaker 2: the day. And I was like, when, when guys get quiet,
- 0:39Speaker 2: what do y'all think about? And he's like, I don't know,
- 0:41Speaker 2: dumb stuff. Like how many, cans of paint would cover
- 0:45Speaker 2: the Empire State Building?
- 0:46Speaker 3: That's a good question.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 3: I like that.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Stupid stuff. Yeah. And I was like, you're like producer Blake.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And he goes, no, I'm like every guy.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Well, like there's a bunch of questions out there that
- 0:56Speaker 4: haven't been answered that need to be asked.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Like what other stupid one that you always, if your
- 1:00Speaker 2: hand could be a power tool.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Like, how many steps does each shoe take before you
- 1:04Speaker 4: have to buy a new pair?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Like, they never give us that. Each one has different wear.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I have Birkenstocks, and you can get the soles redone.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Yeah, but I'm saying, like, why doesn't it have it
- 1:14Speaker 4: on the box when you buy it? It's like, this
- 1:16Speaker 4: one will be 80,000 steps. Like, why don't they do
- 1:18Speaker 4: it like that?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Like, tires have a certain amount of miles.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, why are we doing that with shoes? There's still
- 1:22Speaker 3: rubber and stuff.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Get a warranty?
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Are you going to rotate your shoes like you rotate
- 1:27Speaker 2: your tires?
- 1:27Speaker 3: I wish that was possible. If I had two left feet,
- 1:29Speaker 3: you best bet I would.
- 1:30Speaker 2: This is stupid. Anyway, good morning. Thank you for being here.
- 1:34Speaker 2: If you want to call with a dumb question to 833-501-BAMA.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:41Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:43Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:45Speaker 2: An airport passenger stole a airport vehicle and drove around
- 1:49Speaker 2: the tarmac before crashing.
- 1:53Speaker 3: That's typically what happens when you steal a vehicle.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. A 26-year-old airplane passenger in California was
- 1:59Speaker 2: arrested after sneaking through an access door at an airport,
- 2:02Speaker 2: going onto the tarmac. He stole an airport tug. He
- 2:05Speaker 2: finally crashed it. Listen to this. What the hell?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Super easy trivia with The Alabama Show.
- 2:24Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Amanda, good morning.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Where are you calling from?
- 2:29Speaker 5: Birmingham.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Where are you going? What are you doing?
- 2:31Speaker 5: Going to Children's.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Are you going to work, or is there somebody, like
- 2:36Speaker 2: a patient you're going to see? I don't know.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm going to work.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Okay. What do you do there?
- 2:41Speaker 6: I'm a nurse in the operating room.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Awesome. Well, thank you for what you do. We appreciate
- 2:45Speaker 2: you so much for that.
- 2:46Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Amanda, are you calling to play Super Easy Trivia?
- 2:50Speaker 6: I am.
- 2:51Speaker 2: All right, I'll ask the questions, and Producer Blake is
- 2:53Speaker 2: your lifeline should you need him. Here's question number one. Amanda,
- 2:58Speaker 2: how many legs does a spider have?
- 3:01Speaker 4: Eight.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Got it.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Good job. Next one. What gas do humans need to
- 3:06Speaker 2: breathe to stay alive?
- 3:09Speaker 5: Oxygen.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Glad you know that since you are a nurse in
- 3:12Speaker 2: the operating room. That would be a problem. Yeah. And
- 3:17Speaker 2: last one for the win. Amanda, in what U.S. city
- 3:19Speaker 2: is this Statue of Liberty? New York. New York is it. Congratulations, Amanda.
- 3:35Speaker 2: You just won. Super easy trivia.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Yay.
- 3:39Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 3:43Speaker 2: If you love barbecue, Huntsville's Whistle Stop Barbecue Festival is
- 3:46Speaker 2: coming back this weekend. So it's all weekend long. And
- 3:48Speaker 2: your ticket includes, if you go Friday night, wing tasting
- 3:52Speaker 2: or Saturday, pulled pork tasting. Tickets are only $ 10 if
- 3:56Speaker 2: you get them in advance and then $ 15 at the gate.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Kids 12 and under get in free. So that'll be
- 4:01Speaker 2: a great weekend trip to make. Netflix just eliminated about
- 4:06Speaker 2: 1,000 jobs. It was one of their biggest cutbacks to date.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Most of the layoffs are going to affect workers in
- 4:11Speaker 2: the product, tech, legal, and HR teams. The CEOs sent
- 4:16Speaker 2: an email to their employees saying our mission to entertain
- 4:19Speaker 2: the world is ambitious, and delivering on it requires us
- 4:22Speaker 2: to be disciplined about where we prioritize our people and resources.
- 4:26Speaker 2: It shouldn't affect, hopefully, any of our streaming, but they did,
- 4:31Speaker 2: I mean, 1,000 jobs. That's a lot. Hillary Swank just
- 4:35Speaker 2: announced she's expecting her third baby at 52 years old.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
- 4:42Speaker 2: That gives me hope because I don't have kids yet
- 4:44Speaker 2: and I'm not 52. Also, it is crazy that she's
- 4:49Speaker 2: 52 years old. She posted on Instagram a video of
- 4:52Speaker 2: her husband dancing with glow stick bodies, her husband and
- 4:55Speaker 2: her two kids. You know how they'll turn the lights
- 4:57Speaker 2: out and they'll do glow stick figures?
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 2: So her husband and her two kids are dancing, and
- 5:01Speaker 2: all of a sudden she turns around and she's got
- 5:03Speaker 2: a baby bump with a little glow stick baby.
- 5:05Speaker 3: On her belly.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And the caption says, a lot of people have been
- 5:09Speaker 2: asking what project I'm doing next. This one releases in December.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So she's been pregnant for a while. She's due in
- 5:14Speaker 2: like two months.
- 5:16Speaker 3: That is absolutely bonkers.
- 5:18Speaker 4: I know.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I know. Her first two kids were born in 2023,
- 5:21Speaker 2: and they're twins, so....
- 5:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Anyway, that's three things you need to know more at
- 5:28Speaker 2: the Alabama show dot com.
- 5:30Speaker 1: The Alabama show on demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Producer Blake doesn't know it yet, but the thing he's
- 5:36Speaker 2: going to talk about is going to be a challenge
- 5:38Speaker 2: on the show tomorrow.
- 5:39Speaker 3: How's it going to be a challenge?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Thanks for listening to the Alabama show. I'm Alabama with
- 5:43Speaker 2: producer Blake.
- 5:44Speaker 3: That's me.
- 5:45Speaker 2: What's in your fridge?
- 5:46Speaker 4: I have some food in my fridge in my crock
- 5:49Speaker 4: pot that I have not cleaned out in over a
- 5:51Speaker 4: month because I forgot it was there.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Hold on. You put the whole crock pot with just
- 5:56Speaker 2: the crock pot lid? You didn't even put it in
- 5:58Speaker 2: a Tupperware thing?
- 5:59Speaker 4: No.
- 5:59Speaker 2: You didn't seal it?
- 6:01Speaker 5: No.
- 6:01Speaker 3: What's the food? It's like just the chicken Alfredo I made.
- 6:05Speaker 2: The chicken Alfredo we talked about that you over seasoned
- 6:08Speaker 2: and it tasted bad?
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that one.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That was a month and a half ago.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Uh-huh.
- 6:13Speaker 3: It's been in there since then. And I forgot it
- 6:15Speaker 3: because it was behind some stuff. And I said, oh, no.
- 6:17Speaker 2: There ain't no way you can forget a whole crock
- 6:20Speaker 2: pot in your fridge. That takes up the whole shelf.
- 6:24Speaker 2: What is wrong with you?
- 6:25Speaker 3: I forgot. I had some. Look, I have my, like,
- 6:29Speaker 3: soda cans in there. And it's set up in front
- 6:31Speaker 3: of it. And I forgot.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I'm going to make you bring it into work tomorrow
- 6:34Speaker 2: and taste it.
- 6:36Speaker 4: No, I literally won't. I will get sick, and I'm
- 6:39Speaker 4: not doing that.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I will not do that.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Okay, one, start putting your stuff in Tupperware. You can't
- 6:45Speaker 2: put the whole crock pot in the fridge. That's nasty.
- 6:48Speaker 3: I forgot. I was going to do that, and then
- 6:51Speaker 3: just stuff happened.
- 6:52Speaker 2: You put it in the fridge. That's nasty. Don't do that.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Well.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Two, is.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That the only old thing you got in there?
- 6:59Speaker 3: I think so.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I've thrown everything else away over... The past, however long
- 7:05Speaker 4: I've been there. That is the oldest thing in there.
- 7:07Speaker 4: And I'm scared to look in it. I've not opened it.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I've not looked in there.
- 7:11Speaker 2: You gotta open it. Cause usually if I have old
- 7:14Speaker 2: Tupperware and something old is in it, I just throw
- 7:16Speaker 2: it away. Like I did that at work. Remember the
- 7:18Speaker 2: beans I left in the fridge at work and the fridge.
- 7:20Speaker 3: You complained about it. Yes, I do remember that.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I realized it was me, but you have to clean
- 7:25Speaker 2: out the crock pot. You can't throw away the crock pot.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I'm scared to death. I think I'm going to have
- 7:31Speaker 3: to go buy a pressure washer.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Call the show. 833-501-BAMA. What is the oldest thing you
- 7:37Speaker 2: have ever left in your refrigerator or found in your
- 7:40Speaker 2: refrigerator or found in somebody else's fridge? 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 7:45Speaker 2: That's 833-501-2262.
- 7:48Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 7:53Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. Good morning.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Who's this?
- 7:57Speaker 5: This is Sheila. This is disgusting what I'm going to
- 8:00Speaker 5: tell you.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Okay, what's the oldest thing you found in your fridge?
- 8:04Speaker 5: Okay, it's not the fridge, but it's a frozen thing, but...
- 8:10Speaker 5: When I lived in Illinois, I cooked, I had a turkey,
- 8:15Speaker 5: and I put the carcass in a pan, and it's winter,
- 8:19Speaker 5: and I put it behind a gate outside the front door.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Okay, in the snow, in the snow, because it was
- 8:26Speaker 2: really cold.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:29Speaker 5: The gate never got used, and I forgot it until springtime.
- 8:34Speaker 5: It started smelling. It was horrible. We thought something had
- 8:40Speaker 5: died under the house.
- 8:43Speaker 2: I am shocked you didn't have coyotes or raccoons or
- 8:46Speaker 2: wildlife eating it.
- 8:48Speaker 5: And we lived out in the country, but it was
- 8:50Speaker 5: surrounded by a fence right next to the house.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Girl, you are— I love you. That's a good one.
- 8:58Speaker 5: And it was in an expensive Teflon big pot, so
- 9:04Speaker 5: I couldn't throw the pot away.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Oh, so you had to scrub that out? Did you
- 9:08Speaker 2: do it with the water hose?
- 9:09Speaker 5: Oh, yes, but in a divorce, I gave that pan up.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I love you, Sheila. Thank you for calling.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Okay, bye.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Stop.
- 9:21Speaker 1: It's What the Hell Headlines.
- 9:23Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 9:25Speaker 1: On The Alabama Show.
- 9:27Speaker 2: You can now be buried in a Pringles can.
- 9:30Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 9:32Speaker 2: That is sick. No, it's not. Pringles just announced a
- 9:36Speaker 2: contest called Once You Drop.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Get it?
- 9:38Speaker 2: Once you pop?
- 9:39Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:39Speaker 3: No, I got it.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Once You Drop. And it offers you the chance to
- 9:42Speaker 2: be buried in a Pringles can urn. It's an urn
- 9:45Speaker 2: that looks like a Pringles can if you decide to
- 9:47Speaker 2: get cremated. And you have to go sign a will
- 9:50Speaker 2: and testament. On their thing.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I'm so in. I'm in 100%.
- 9:55Speaker 2: This is the stupidest thing. One grand prize winner will
- 9:58Speaker 2: get an after lifetime. supply of Pringles, which is two
- 10:01Speaker 2: lifetime supplies. That's one can of Pringles every week for
- 10:04Speaker 2: a year for the next 200 years. If you want
- 10:08Speaker 2: to go apply for that, go to once you drop.com.
- 10:13Speaker 1: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama show.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Riley Green and Peyton Manning did a song together, and
- 10:19Speaker 2: it's about Alabama versus Tennessee, which the game is this Saturday.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And fans are a little torn about it because obviously,
- 10:28Speaker 2: you know, Alabama and Tennessee fans, we all get a
- 10:30Speaker 2: little crazy. Here's part of it.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Well, we can joke.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Give each other hell. I can yell roll tide.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Sing Rocky Top all night. Them balls gonna take it
- 10:42Speaker 3: all this year.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's a good, if you want to go listen to
- 10:45Speaker 2: the full song, we'll have it posted at thealabamashow.com. But
- 10:49Speaker 2: that game is going to be this Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
- 10:52Speaker 2: in Knoxville, Tennessee.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Aldi.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Is offering a Thanksgiving meal to feed 10 people for
- 10:58Speaker 2: less than $ 40, and that includes a 16-pound turkey. They
- 11:02Speaker 2: made the announcement yesterday. The meal includes a 16-pound turkey, stuffing,
- 11:05Speaker 2: sweet potatoes, cranberries, peas, carrots, celery, dinner rolls. It's hard
- 11:10Speaker 2: to say all that real fast. Whipping cream and ingredients
- 11:14Speaker 2: to make pumpkin pie. You can buy the whole bundle
- 11:16Speaker 2: for pickup or delivery on Aldi's website. the robot bird
- 11:21Speaker 2: robot bird that has been in the middle of the
- 11:24Speaker 2: Kelly Clarkson drama is now listed for sale for $ 15 million.
- 11:29Speaker 2: If he missed it, Kelly talked out about a Brooklyn
- 11:32Speaker 2: shop that she said treated her like the scene in
- 11:34Speaker 2: pretty woman. And they dismissed her. She wanted to buy
- 11:36Speaker 2: a bird. They would not sell her. They told her,
- 11:39Speaker 2: they said that the bird was not for sale. It's
- 11:41Speaker 2: a mechanical singing bird that they use in magic shows. Um,
- 11:45Speaker 2: So Kelly, you know, talked about the thing. The shop
- 11:49Speaker 2: tried to defend themselves. Now they listed the bird for
- 11:51Speaker 2: $ 15 million, and the store owner said that Kelly put
- 11:54Speaker 2: the shop in danger because they're getting threats from her fans.
- 11:58Speaker 2: It's a whole thing.
- 11:59Speaker 4: I don't think anybody should ever get threats, but there's
- 12:01Speaker 4: a lot of stuff coming out right now, and there's
- 12:03Speaker 4: still probably more.
- 12:04Speaker 2: It's so dumb. Anyway, that's three things you need to
- 12:06Speaker 2: know more at thealabamashow.com.
- 12:10Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand. Amazing. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 12:15Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. If you
- 12:17Speaker 2: have good news, we would love to celebrate with you. Brittany,
- 12:20Speaker 2: good morning. Are you calling with good news? I am.
- 12:24Speaker 5: I am.
- 12:24Speaker 6: So I went out on a limb and applied for
- 12:27Speaker 6: a house for me and my daughter and got the
- 12:29Speaker 6: news yesterday.
- 12:30Speaker 5: That we got it.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yay! Yay!
- 12:34Speaker 6: More space thank you thank you yes what.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Were you living in before what are you living in now.
- 12:39Speaker 6: So I actually stay with my mom because I've been
- 12:42Speaker 6: helping her and then so I've seen the house and
- 12:44Speaker 6: I was like you know what I'm just gonna take
- 12:46Speaker 6: a chance.
- 12:46Speaker 2: And go for it and you did I.
- 12:48Speaker 6: Did and I got it what's.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Your favorite thing about the new house that you're gonna.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Get it's gonna be me and my baby.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yes which is your daughter living with you at your
- 12:57Speaker 2: mom's right now too yes well that's exciting that is
- 13:00Speaker 2: such good news I'm so excited for you Thank you.
- 13:02Speaker 6: I'm excited, too.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, thank you for calling and sharing, Brittany. Now when
- 13:06Speaker 2: you get moved in, you're going to have to send
- 13:07Speaker 2: us a picture of it all dressed up or fixed up.
- 13:10Speaker 6: I definitely will. Thank you.
- 13:12Speaker 1: The Alabama Show. On demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I think I'm broken.
- 13:19Speaker 3: What a good start.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I do. Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm
- 13:25Speaker 2: Alabama with producer Blake.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I'm not in the mood for Halloween, and I don't
- 13:31Speaker 2: know what's wrong, because Halloween's my favorite holiday, and I
- 13:34Speaker 2: haven't even decorated yet, and we're two weeks away.
- 13:37Speaker 3: You're depressing me right now.
- 13:38Speaker 4: This is such a fun holiday.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I know.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Remember last year, I went all out. Like, I did
- 13:45Speaker 2: a whole haunted pumpkin patch on one side of my
- 13:48Speaker 2: front porch, and I did witches on the other side.
- 13:50Speaker 2: I had a Halloween party.
- 13:51Speaker 3: I decorated.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I made witches brew punch.
- 13:56Speaker 3: It was good. I don't want to do none of
- 13:58Speaker 3: that today. You've got to do something if you want
- 14:00Speaker 3: to get back in the mood.
- 14:01Speaker 6: I don't.
- 14:01Speaker 3: You've got to break the curse. Break the curse.
- 14:04Speaker 2: That's what it is. I am cursed. That's what's going on.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I don't want to do it because now if I
- 14:09Speaker 2: put it up, I've only got two weeks to take
- 14:11Speaker 2: it down and then put up Christmas decorations. Well, so?
- 14:14Speaker 3: Get in the spirit a little bit. Maybe it'll kickstart
- 14:16Speaker 3: the Christmas.
- 14:17Speaker 2: It takes a whole day.
- 14:19Speaker 3: No, I don't care. I don't care if it takes
- 14:21Speaker 3: you two whole days.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Have you decorated?
- 14:24Speaker 3: I don't decorate.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Well, you should.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You do, though.
- 14:27Speaker 3: And you know that. I'm trying to get you in
- 14:28Speaker 3: the mood. Stop trying to put this on me. This
- 14:30Speaker 3: is about you right now.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I don't want to dig through my attic. I don't
- 14:33Speaker 2: want to pull out the stuff. I don't want to
- 14:34Speaker 2: do it.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Do one thing an hour. That way it's less strenuous
- 14:39Speaker 3: and you don't have to do it all at once.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I can't do one thing an hour because I do
- 14:43Speaker 2: my fireplace, the mantle.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I know.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm saying do one.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I string lights.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Do one item at a time. Do the fireplace.
