- 0:00Speaker 1: What it do we're back again the ground is show.
- 0:04Speaker 2: You hear me 155 man 155 going strong bro we're
- 0:10Speaker 2: getting a lot of uh a lot of traction the
- 0:13Speaker 2: irl traction man we're gonna even.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Uh adjust some of the content a little just to
- 0:18Speaker 1: kind of match it like that's something that i've been
- 0:20Speaker 1: talking to with people lately bro like we didn't even
- 0:22Speaker 1: talk about this before but like the way we've been
- 0:26Speaker 1: focusing on like local so much lately, and it's been
- 0:30Speaker 1: working so well, and, like, you get stuck in this
- 0:32Speaker 1: mindset of, like, you want to reach everybody, so you're
- 0:37Speaker 1: not really targeting, you know.
- 0:38Speaker 3: What I mean?
- 0:39Speaker 4: You're just, like, I'm just trying to find, you know, whatever.
- 0:42Speaker 4: Internet is huge. It's hard to get everybody's attention out there.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And, like, the way the internet stuff doesn't translate into, like,
- 0:53Speaker 1: in real life success, like, there's so many people, and
- 0:56Speaker 1: usually it's younger people, like, By the time you get older,
- 0:59Speaker 1: you should know this, but so many people will see
- 1:02Speaker 1: a post of somebody with a million views and, oh,
- 1:05Speaker 1: he's good.
- 1:06Speaker 3: He's set. You know what I mean?
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's like, bro, just because you got a post that
- 1:09Speaker 1: got a million views doesn't mean anything. You got to
- 1:12Speaker 1: capitalize on it and you got to be already- If.
- 1:15Speaker 4: You got a brand from it, that's different. That's why
- 1:17Speaker 4: I appreciate what we do. Everything we're doing is sticking
- 1:19Speaker 4: to this brand right here. Facts. And that's what we're about.
- 1:23Speaker 4: It's not just- Trying to get viral off a couple
- 1:26Speaker 4: of clips.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Exactly. And I was going to kind of follow up
- 1:29Speaker 3: with that.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Like we're, the event works like the event that we do,
- 1:33Speaker 1: which is just like a kickback, you know, whether it
- 1:35Speaker 1: be the Latin one or the R & B one,
- 1:37Speaker 1: which we'll talk about that more later as well. But, um, the,
- 1:41Speaker 1: what we do first and foremost is make sure that
- 1:44Speaker 1: we bring in that right vibe.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Like with you, you focus in on the music and
- 1:49Speaker 1: how you're analyzing the crowd to see how the energy
- 1:51Speaker 1: should move.
- 1:52Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Like, with us when we were putting together the place,
- 1:56Speaker 1: you know, and the type of event and everything. It
- 1:58Speaker 1: was like making it all connect and make sense so
- 2:00Speaker 1: it really could give us that vibe. And it's like, bro,
- 2:02Speaker 1: everybody that's come out that I know to that event
- 2:05Speaker 1: has enjoyed it and been back.
- 2:06Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? Everybody's been surprised. A lot
- 2:09Speaker 4: of new people who came for the last one, they
- 2:12Speaker 4: were surprised about how dope that vibe was. They're like, damn, like,
- 2:16Speaker 4: That is a dope spot right there.
- 2:18Speaker 3: You know?
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always that thing of, like, it's hard to
- 2:21Speaker 1: describe because there's literally nothing like it in Florida.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Not in Florida, but, like, in Orlando, Central Florida.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Like, it's definitely one of those things. Yeah, outside of
- 2:29Speaker 4: Mills Avenue.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And even then, like, you're not going to a vineyard.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Like, they're not making wine there.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You don't have to go to Claremont for that.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Exactly, bro.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So it's definitely, like, one of those things where the
- 2:42Speaker 1: uniqueness adds to the vibe for sure. But at the
- 2:46Speaker 1: end of the day, it's really just, like, the way
- 2:49Speaker 1: the event is. Because not everybody's trying to, like, even, like,
- 2:52Speaker 1: that whole turn up thing has kind of, like, died with, like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: how everybody got phones now. So everybody's kind of scared to, like, even, like,
- 2:59Speaker 1: really have fun fun because you don't even know who's, like,
- 3:02Speaker 1: recording at the time.
- 3:03Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Yep.
- 3:04Speaker 4: You don't know who's going to get posted. Back then,
- 3:06Speaker 4: we was doing some ratchet shit. And we didn't have
- 3:10Speaker 4: to worry about people posting us on the internet.
- 3:12Speaker 3: And it was, like, I forgot who I was talking
- 3:14Speaker 3: to recently.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't know if it was this new young guy
- 3:18Speaker 1: that we got at the shop or my kids, but
- 3:20Speaker 1: they were just basically asking how it was before.
- 3:23Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Because we born in the 1900s, dawg.
- 3:26Speaker 3: So to these people now, they think that that's like
- 3:29Speaker 3: it say, your birthday has a 19 in front of it.
- 3:33Speaker 3: That's the thing. You know what I mean?
- 3:34Speaker 4: You know what's crazy? I see some videos of young kids,
- 3:40Speaker 4: but they're young and they're in their 20s. And then
- 3:45Speaker 4: they don't know certain artists or certain things ever existed.
- 3:48Speaker 4: I feel like it's fake. I know it's not fake,
- 3:52Speaker 4: but it's so crazy to believe.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I know exactly what you mean. You think that the
- 3:57Speaker 1: stuff that you know, that's common knowledge. Everybody knows that.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And then it's like if you was born, if you're 20, 21, bro,
- 4:04Speaker 1: there's so many references.
- 4:05Speaker 4: And it's crazy because they're adults and they don't know.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Certain stuff that we feel everybody should know. And now
- 4:14Speaker 4: our parents are starting to come in and see how
- 4:16Speaker 4: they felt when we didn't know somebody they knew. Or
- 4:20Speaker 4: something they knew.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's always just a funny detail kind of seeing what
- 4:27Speaker 1: old stuff younger people pay attention to and what stuff
- 4:32Speaker 1: they kind of like.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Because that's one of the things too.
- 4:36Speaker 4: For example....
- 4:39Speaker 1: People like our age, we always remember the Nickelodeon show,
- 4:43Speaker 1: My Brother and Me. We know what that is. We
- 4:46Speaker 1: got memories of that show. But that show got canceled
- 4:49Speaker 1: after like one or two seasons. And it was like
- 4:52Speaker 1: something in the early 90s, bro.
- 4:53Speaker 4: If you ain't catch it. It felt like it lasts forever, though,
- 4:55Speaker 4: the way you still remember it.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Exactly, because we was kids. They had the reruns, too.
- 4:59Speaker 1: And when we watched it, we enjoyed it. You mention
- 5:02Speaker 1: that to somebody now, bro, and they're like, what?
- 5:04Speaker 4: We still call it that show, Alfie, can you teach
- 5:07Speaker 4: me to dance?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Bro, my favorite memory from that show is when he
- 5:12Speaker 1: tried to get the haircut.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And it went bad. He wanted to get the designs
- 5:16Speaker 3: in his hair.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Like Cool Dr.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Money.
- 5:18Speaker 1: He wanted to get the designs in his hair. His
- 5:19Speaker 1: mom said no. He went to his homie to get
- 5:21Speaker 1: it done anyway. And it got so messed up, they
- 5:24Speaker 1: had to shave him bald.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And Alfie was like, you look like Charles Barkley without
- 5:29Speaker 3: the muscles.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Like I said, there's so many jokes. There's so many
- 5:34Speaker 4: lines we still remember. And it was only, what, one season?
- 5:38Speaker 4: That's crazy. Rob Markman, Yeah, it's like a classic off
- 5:42Speaker 4: of not even- Rob Markman, And it's timeless.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Rob Markman, It's like some shows and things like that,
- 5:48Speaker 1: like some movies, they get a bad rep or they
- 5:52Speaker 1: get canceled or whatever, and then it makes people check
- 5:54Speaker 1: it out.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And then if it was dope, they'll be like, oh dang,
- 5:57Speaker 3: it gets this lower, you know what I mean?
- 5:58Speaker 4: Rob Markman, Honestly, even outside of that, and y'all don't
- 6:02Speaker 4: have to agree with me. I know everybody's not a
- 6:04Speaker 4: Joe Budden rapper fan, but there was a guy- who
- 6:09Speaker 4: played Joe Budden, BT Awards Cypher freestyle. He's like, I
- 6:15Speaker 4: didn't know Joe Budden could rap. And it's crazy to
- 6:18Speaker 4: me that people only know Joe Budden for the podcast now.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Yeah, like he's a personality now.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and they didn't know he was actually an artist
- 6:25Speaker 4: that can actually really rap.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Joe Budden, it's funny, man, because for people that
- 6:30Speaker 1: don't really know Joe Budden as a rapper... He was
- 6:34Speaker 1: like a polarizing rapper the same way he's like a
- 6:37Speaker 1: polarizing personality. Because even as a rapper, he had big opinions.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He wasn't scared to speak his mind or whatever.
- 6:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I watched the Green Lantern freestyle where he's in
- 6:45Speaker 4: there and he got his beef with people on the
- 6:47Speaker 4: way up to the floor. He's like, I'm here. Just
- 6:50Speaker 4: drop that beat. Let's do it. I ain't trying to be.
- 6:53Speaker 4: He was always the same personality he has now. He
- 6:56Speaker 4: was that way as a rapper. He felt strong about
- 6:59Speaker 4: what he said. He said it in a good way.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I'm not trying to glaze Joe Budden here, but I've
- 7:03Speaker 4: always been a Joe Budden fan.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Joe Budden, I wouldn't say like, oh, I'm a big
- 7:09Speaker 1: Joe Budden fan, but there was stuff from him that
- 7:12Speaker 1: I liked for sure, for sure. I would check out
- 7:14Speaker 1: when he dropped stuff, just out of the respect of
- 7:17Speaker 1: he was a dope MC, so I'm going to check
- 7:19Speaker 1: it out.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But I wasn't super, super tapped in.
- 7:21Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 7:22Speaker 3: One of the things I.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Always remember about Joe Budden that was funny was, I
- 7:26Speaker 1: don't know if you remember when he beefed with Game,
- 7:28Speaker 1: and they went back and forth, right?
- 7:30Speaker 4: And then they got cool. They made a song together.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And before the song started, like, Game is like, yo,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you know, we got together on a song, whatever, whatever.
- 7:39Speaker 1: And he's like, yo, how you go, how you go club,
- 7:43Speaker 1: then go hood, then go back club on the same record.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And it was, the first verse was Joe Budden. His
- 7:49Speaker 1: verse was after, and then Joe Budden's verse was last.
- 7:52Speaker 1: So he was like, kind of like low key throwing
- 7:54Speaker 1: a shot at him on the song. And I was
- 7:56Speaker 1: always kind of like, damn, bro, like.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I felt kind of weird about that line in that song.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I feel like he just always knew the game, how
- 8:04Speaker 4: to work the game the best way, and that's why
- 8:07Speaker 4: he's doing the podcasting.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he's definitely one of those that regardless of how
- 8:12Speaker 1: you feel about how he did musically or whatever, he's
- 8:15Speaker 1: a voice and he's like a fixture in hip-hop. Same
- 8:18Speaker 1: with Gidley, bro. Gidley was a local artist. He had some.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Regional.
- 8:25Speaker 3: I wouldn't say local. I'll say regional.
- 8:27Speaker 1: He was like a regional artist that had some national success,
- 8:30Speaker 1: but more so he was regional. And if you were
- 8:33Speaker 1: like tapped in, you know, really like watching rap DVDs
- 8:37Speaker 1: and stuff like that, you knew about Gilly. But it
- 8:39Speaker 1: wasn't like he was like a known, known rapper at
- 8:42Speaker 1: the time. But now everybody in hip hop knows Gilly
- 8:45Speaker 1: the Kid.
- 8:45Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Way more than it was before.
- 8:48Speaker 4: I still got it. I have a Gilly the Kid
- 8:52Speaker 4: verse memorized. That's how I'm a long life. Knowing he
- 8:55Speaker 4: was an artist. But, like, just the personalities. And that's
- 8:58Speaker 4: a good thing when you're doing content creation. It's, like,
- 9:02Speaker 4: you can't have ten different personalities clashing against each other
- 9:06Speaker 4: in your content, you know. And I think that's attached
- 9:09Speaker 4: back to what we were talking about. Like, we can't
- 9:11Speaker 4: have this type of podcast and have a turned-up event.
- 9:15Speaker 3: It's not us. Yep.
- 9:16Speaker 1: And even just, like, the people that we, like, tapping
- 9:18Speaker 1: in with, like, And we'll get into it now, but man,
- 9:21Speaker 1: shout out to the people that pulled up to.
- 9:23Speaker 3: The first Latin event.
- 9:25Speaker 4: I appreciate everybody, man.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Bro.
- 9:27Speaker 4: We do.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Super. It was like, I think our second best event?
- 9:32Speaker 4: No, it was the best one. No, it was the
- 9:33Speaker 4: best one.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It actually topped the best R & B event, and
- 9:37Speaker 1: the R & B events go crazy already. So I was, man,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I was blown away by how everything kind of like,
- 9:42Speaker 1: just shaped up throughout the.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Night and everything, the vibe, everybody enjoyed it.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Everybody felt real comfortable, I feel like.
- 9:48Speaker 1: When I announced that you were winding down with the
- 9:50Speaker 1: last song, remember, you heard everybody audibly go, aww.
- 9:54Speaker 3: At the same time, it was so dope. Like, dang, bro,
- 9:57Speaker 3: they really would've just stayed in vibe for like another
- 9:59Speaker 3: hour if we just stayed there bro it's crazy but.
- 10:02Speaker 4: It's that's why man we gotta do a weekend night
- 10:04Speaker 4: for the people they've been asking for it.
- 10:06Speaker 1: They've been asking for it and at this point bro
- 10:10Speaker 1: man one of those kickbacks on a Friday or Saturday.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Either one of those bro imagine we was talking about
- 10:18Speaker 3: the fall coming up Nice little fall night, Friday night. Oh, man.
- 10:22Speaker 4: That'd be perfect. Nobody sweating all night. Nah, facts, because, yo,
- 10:24Speaker 4: it'd be hot. Like, I know people were dancing so much,
- 10:27Speaker 4: they literally had to take breaks. Nah, literally. Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 3: The weather been disrespectful the past couple years, bro. Like,
- 10:34Speaker 3: I was always a big, like... Yeah, but, like, it's
- 10:37Speaker 3: been different, bro.
- 10:38Speaker 1: That super El Nino stuff, like, it's made such a difference, bro. Like,
- 10:42Speaker 1: because even, like, two summers ago, not the last summer,
- 10:46Speaker 1: not the one before, but the one before that, My
- 10:49Speaker 1: kids and their friends was outside playing all the time.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Like these past two has been so hot, bro. They
- 10:54Speaker 1: just being, they'd be like, nah, it's too hot. I
- 10:56Speaker 1: can't even go outside.
- 10:57Speaker 4: And I've been here for two years after I moved
- 10:59Speaker 4: back from Vegas.
- 10:59Speaker 3: So.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Oh, so you just experienced the super hot summers.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Yeah. That's how it is over there. But their winters
- 11:06Speaker 4: are eight months long. That's why I tell you, like,
- 11:09Speaker 4: I don't miss the cold, but I love the cold. Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's something that like, definitely as I've gotten older, I've
- 11:15Speaker 1: appreciated more.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Because I was always such an outside and.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Active type kid that the winter always sucked for me
- 11:23Speaker 1: because nobody would come outside because it's too cold.
- 11:24Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 11:26Speaker 3: But now that I'm older and I don't do that
- 11:27Speaker 3: kind of stuff, bro, I don't need that heat.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Love that for me.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yo, shout out to Lobos too, man. Shout out to
- 11:38Speaker 3: my boy Juan, bro.
- 11:39Speaker 1: He put me on to the nice little tips and
- 11:42Speaker 1: tricks to get the coffee tasting good. And, um, you know,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I've been, I've been applying that bro. And it's been,
- 11:48Speaker 1: been a one plus their coffee's a one. So it
- 11:50Speaker 1: makes it easy, but we're definitely going to be, um,
- 11:52Speaker 1: tapping in with them soon, man. Like just starting to
- 11:55Speaker 1: kind of get, like we were talking about with the
- 11:56Speaker 1: local stuff, like start trying to get into the, um,
- 12:00Speaker 1: you know, linking up with like these people locally that
- 12:02Speaker 1: we know that are doing dope stuff, the farmer's market,
- 12:06Speaker 1: definitely want to, um, talk to Clint over at feel good. Um,
- 12:09Speaker 1: just about like what he got going on and, you know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: that's the spot that we do the events at. So
- 12:13Speaker 1: it'd be just cool to get that backstory on there
- 12:15Speaker 1: and kind of let people really know like, uh, about
- 12:18Speaker 1: them and what they got going on.
- 12:19Speaker 4: We're going to showcase a little bit. We're still going
- 12:21Speaker 4: to do this.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yeah. Facts, facts.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It's still going to be a piece of it for sure. And, um,
- 12:26Speaker 1: you know, it's dope that we got people actually like
- 12:28Speaker 1: looking for it and tapping in with it.
- 12:30Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 12:31Speaker 3: Um, so that, that always, uh, That always feels good, man.
- 12:36Speaker 1: We got some loyal TikTok fans too, man, that they'll
- 12:39Speaker 1: hit us up sometimes and.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Be like, yo, y'all need to talk about this. You
- 12:41Speaker 3: know what I mean? Some kind of topic.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Comes up and they'll want us to cover it on
- 12:46Speaker 1: the podcast and just hear our take on it and stuff.
- 12:49Speaker 4: So that's super dope. We don't want to be repetitive.
- 12:51Speaker 4: We don't want to be just extra saturation to the
- 12:54Speaker 4: podcast game and the YouTube game is now. We want
- 12:57Speaker 4: to actually keep trying to bring things new, things that
- 13:00Speaker 4: get attention span going. a little more exciting stuff. So, uh,
- 13:06Speaker 4: just know we're always trying to progress and upgrade everything
- 13:09Speaker 4: we do.
- 13:10Speaker 1: And something like I've been real conscious of that has
- 13:13Speaker 1: been like really taken over with, uh, my music stuff
- 13:17Speaker 1: as well, as well as like the podcast stuff is
- 13:20Speaker 1: just not getting too wrapped up in the whole notion of.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Like, you're fighting for people's attention. Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Like you don't want to be like another person with
- 13:31Speaker 1: a sales pitch and people's timeline. Like, between the AI
- 13:34Speaker 1: and just like how online everything is getting, bro.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Like everything looks and sounds the same. Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And it makes it like, it just, it makes stuff
- 13:42Speaker 1: not feel the way you want it to feel just
- 13:45Speaker 1: because you're taking so much of the personal out of it.
- 13:48Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Like it kind of, it kind of goes to like, uh,
- 13:52Speaker 1: what I was talking about earlier with the local stuff
- 13:54Speaker 1: is like, you can't compare, you know, uh, it's cool.
- 14:00Speaker 3: It does that all the time.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Um, You can't compare, let's say, like, a million plays
- 14:05Speaker 1: or whatever to, like, a packed event.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 3: You feel what I'm saying?
- 14:09Speaker 1: The million plays looks cool to look at, and you're like, oh, man,
- 14:12Speaker 1: that's dope.
- 14:12Speaker 3: You know what I mean? But when you really break
- 14:15Speaker 3: it down, everybody's getting a million.
- 14:16Speaker 4: Views on anything, bro. You know, that's a great point
- 14:19Speaker 4: you made. Based on all actual, like, engagement and views
- 14:21Speaker 4: we have, if I would have expected the events to
- 14:25Speaker 4: resemble that, it would have been dead wrong.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Like.
- 14:31Speaker 4: It made no sense, like, how much that part of
- 14:34Speaker 4: the Internet matters, but then how much the people that
- 14:37Speaker 4: support us matter that show up to the events. And, like,
- 14:40Speaker 4: after seeing all these people show up, I'm like, okay,
- 14:43Speaker 4: those are the numbers.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Exactly, exactly.
- 14:46Speaker 1: It's like once you really just start, like, focusing slash
- 14:49Speaker 1: tapping in with the real people and, like, actually, like,
- 14:54Speaker 1: that's why, like, a lot of people say the Internet
- 14:56Speaker 1: is not a real place because, like, A lot of
- 14:58Speaker 1: the people's opinions online is like stuff they're just saying
- 15:02Speaker 1: because that's, you know, that's where you write stuff like that.
- 15:06Speaker 1: You know, like it's not what's really going on. And
- 15:08Speaker 1: it's a lot of times not even what's really people thinking.
- 15:10Speaker 4: People are fighting for likes for comments that they leave
- 15:12Speaker 4: on other people's posts.
- 15:14Speaker 3: That's all I know.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Bro, literally, you'll see somebody with a viral post and
- 15:18Speaker 1: reply to somebody in their comments like, yo, stop taking
- 15:20Speaker 1: all my likes. Like if they got mad likes on
- 15:22Speaker 1: their comment, you know.
- 15:23Speaker 4: You'll see a comment with like 43,000 likes. That person's gassed.
- 15:29Speaker 4: But there's that type of demographic out on the internet, too.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It's the weird numbers thing, man. We see it a
- 15:39Speaker 1: lot with the music thing, too, man. So many people
- 15:43Speaker 1: are obsessed with certain types of numbers. And it's always
- 15:46Speaker 1: interesting to me seeing which metrics matter to certain artists,
- 15:50Speaker 1: kind of depending on what they're doing.
- 15:52Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Because artists like Creative Angel that we had on he
- 15:58Speaker 1: operates off of different metrics than just an online artist
- 16:01Speaker 1: would because he's really touching the people.
- 16:03Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Like an online artist, they'll probably just be more focused on,
- 16:09Speaker 1: you know, keep targeting the people that the demographic they like.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Exactly. Just keep targeting and keep growing that.
- 16:16Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 16:16Speaker 1: And then it's kind of like I was talking about
- 16:18Speaker 1: with the podcast or doing anything. Like sometimes you put
- 16:21Speaker 1: it out and you're like, oh, It's doing good. Look
- 16:23Speaker 1: at these numbers. But it's like, but what are those
- 16:25Speaker 1: numbers translating into?
- 16:27Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Yeah. Like I said, I've
- 16:30Speaker 4: never seen more physical support from the local demographic that
- 16:36Speaker 4: we have. And I feel that's where we got to target.
- 16:39Speaker 4: And I think that's where we're shifting to. So it's
- 16:41Speaker 4: a good time to do it. Yeah, man.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Like the last, not the last event. I think it
- 16:48Speaker 1: was two events ago. We only had one person there
- 16:52Speaker 1: that we knew. And everybody else there was just people
- 16:55Speaker 1: that have been coming to the events that we kind
- 16:56Speaker 1: of know already because of that.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Or just new people. And we were just chopping it up,
- 17:02Speaker 3: me and you, most of the night. Because, bro, nobody
- 17:05Speaker 3: that we know came, but it's still packed. Nobody that
- 17:06Speaker 3: we know personally.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody that we know personally. We did see the
- 17:10Speaker 1: couple that's always there.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Shout out.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Man, I got to get their name next time so
- 17:14Speaker 4: I can shout.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Them out, man.
- 17:16Speaker 4: You gave us some good wine bags, some hats, right?
- 17:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 1: We had some cool goodies last time, man. We're going
- 17:21Speaker 1: to do that a little more often. Just bring stuff
- 17:24Speaker 1: for the first people that come and also the people
- 17:26Speaker 1: that are always rocking with us. We're going to start
- 17:30Speaker 1: bringing some hats and stuff, too. Having some stuff to sell.
- 17:33Speaker 1: We'll ease into that, man. Right now, just really focusing
- 17:38Speaker 1: on people... Spreading the word and knowing that what we.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Tomorrow night?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Yep. Tomorrow night. When you're listening to.
- 17:44Speaker 4: It'll be tonight.
- 17:44Speaker 1: When you listen to this, it'll be tonight because this
- 17:47Speaker 1: podcast is dropping on that Thursday. But Thursday, September 24th,
- 17:52Speaker 1: we'll be at Feel Good Farm, 7 p.m.
- 17:54Speaker 3: To 11 p.m.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Same as we do. I'll start off with the old
- 17:57Speaker 4: school R & B, switch it up. People got requests.
- 18:01Speaker 4: People want to dance. We control the night as much
- 18:05Speaker 4: as the vibe controls it. So if the vibe wants something,
- 18:07Speaker 4: we'll give it to them.
- 18:08Speaker 3: So.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Keep us informed on what you want to do there. Yeah, man.
- 18:13Speaker 1: The R & B event, that has been so dope
- 18:16Speaker 1: just because it's part of the reason why me and
- 18:20Speaker 1: you started, we're able to rock with each other so
- 18:22Speaker 1: well because of that shared interest musically and just the
- 18:25Speaker 1: vibes and everything.
- 18:26Speaker 3: So just kind of sharing.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That with another group of people and kind of growing
- 18:31Speaker 1: what we're doing based off of that, bro, that's been
- 18:33Speaker 1: super dope, man.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why I know, like I said, when I
- 18:36Speaker 4: met Lester, I said, he makes a kind of R
- 18:37Speaker 4: & B... that I enjoy listening to. And that's the
- 18:40Speaker 4: kind of R & B I play all night, right? Facts.
- 18:43Speaker 4: And I said, well, your first time with me there,
- 18:45Speaker 4: Quincy's first time, they're like, oh, you're really playing like
- 18:48Speaker 4: that R & B? And I'm like, because that's what
- 18:50Speaker 4: I've always enjoyed. That's what I love hearing. And then
- 18:53Speaker 4: I want to share that vibe with everybody that possibly can.
- 18:57Speaker 4: If we could do it for a whole night for
- 18:58Speaker 4: four hours, we'll do it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry to shift gears to, you know, the vibes
- 19:05Speaker 1: are so high right now.
- 19:06Speaker 3: It's all positivity. Yeah. You know, we got to shift
- 19:09Speaker 3: gears to the NFL, man. And you had a rough
- 19:13Speaker 3: night this week, man. I seriously stopped watching in the
- 19:17Speaker 3: second quarter.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It's funny because I stopped watching that game. I mean,
- 19:21Speaker 1: I didn't even watch the game. I was doing something.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And you had wrote some comment, and I was laughing.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And Quincy was like, you know why he wrote that, right?
- 19:34Speaker 3: And I'm like, nah, why? And he told me what
- 19:37Speaker 3: happened in the game. I'm like, oh my gosh. Now
- 19:39Speaker 3: it makes sense, bro. I know he is pissed, bro.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Wifey knows every game. The game doesn't start without my
- 19:47Speaker 4: jersey on. And when the game starts, I'm standing up
- 19:51Speaker 4: for the whole game. By the second quarter, I was
- 19:54Speaker 4: doing laps around the couch, and I said, you know what?
- 19:58Speaker 4: Let's go to bed. Let's go to bed. I'm not
- 20:00Speaker 4: even watching my jersey off. Laid it over the balcony
- 20:03Speaker 4: of the stairs. I said, I'm done here.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Damn, retired it? Retired the jersey.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I should have hung that in the rafters. But that's
- 20:11Speaker 4: how I feel, though. So this is another thing I
- 20:15Speaker 4: joked about in another chat. These dudes get paid a
- 20:20Speaker 4: million dollars a year and put their life.
- 20:25Speaker 3: On the line.
- 20:27Speaker 4: And we mad because we don't got a quarterback or
- 20:29Speaker 4: we got low fantasy points. Nah, facts.
- 20:32Speaker 1: It's like we boil it down to something so simple. But, buddy,
- 20:37Speaker 1: not only is his whole year ruined in real life,
- 20:41Speaker 1: but he's, like, concerned about his future now. Like, he
- 20:44Speaker 1: don't know what's going to happen. Like, he don't know
- 20:46Speaker 1: if he's going to heal like how he's supposed to. Like,
- 20:48Speaker 1: it's insane, bro.
- 20:49Speaker 4: And we're over here like, damn, my parlay. Damn, my
- 20:53Speaker 4: fantasy team. Damn, the playoffs this season. Like, is that
- 20:58Speaker 4: disrespectful of us? Nah, facts.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Bro, I remember, I don't know if you remember, bro,
- 21:03Speaker 1: but in the fantasy group chat when they have I
- 21:06Speaker 1: think it was a Monday night game.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I don't think it was Sunday night. The DeMar Hamlin game.
- 21:10Speaker 3: The Bills game.
- 21:12Speaker 4: I lost that.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Bro, people were so pissed.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Because there was bets riding on it, fantasy riding on it.
- 21:20Speaker 4: And they just canceled the game. So the game ended there.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And everybody was in the chat like, bro, this man
- 21:26Speaker 1: almost died on national TV, bro.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Yo, that made me snore. Because I was one of them.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I was definitely one of them. If the game would
- 21:37Speaker 4: have finished.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I'm just like, bro, have a heart.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Have a heart. We could never.
- 21:44Speaker 1: That was an insane game, bro. And like you said, bro,
- 21:49Speaker 1: kind of ties into what you just said. The way
- 21:50Speaker 1: they put their bodies on the line, their lives on
- 21:52Speaker 1: the line. We take that for granted, bro.
- 21:55Speaker 4: And stuff like that. And you're like, dang, they really
- 21:56Speaker 4: out there just tackling. We could never. Literally, bro. We
- 22:00Speaker 4: could never.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Bro, I played high school football for like a few games, bro.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I remember one time, dog, this brolic white boy, bro.
- 22:10Speaker 1: He was safety. And then it was a practice game.
- 22:15Speaker 1: We were just in practice, bro. Quarterback threw it to
- 22:18Speaker 1: me up the middle. I said, just like this.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Grab that thing. Turn just like this.
- 22:24Speaker 1: But he was right there and laid me out, dog.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And there's just nothing I can do. You know what
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm saying? Because I'm just focused on the ball. As
- 22:32Speaker 1: soon as I turn, I kept the ball. You know
- 22:34Speaker 1: what I'm saying? I'm not saying I was a hooper,
- 22:36Speaker 1: but I kept the ball. Just letting y'all know I
- 22:37Speaker 1: ain't dropping it.
- 22:38Speaker 4: But, dog.
- 22:39Speaker 3: It's a completion. When he dropped me like that, I
- 22:42Speaker 3: was like, oh, my God. And they getting dropped like
- 22:43Speaker 3: that all game long. Consistently. That's why people be like, oh,
- 22:48Speaker 3: why did he take the running backs out after a
- 22:50Speaker 3: couple of downs? Because he's getting.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Freaking dogpiled by 17 grown men at the same time, bro.
- 22:57Speaker 4: I got Jamar Gibbs in two leagues. And I watch him.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Jameer Gibbs?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Jameer. What did I say? Jamar. Jameer Gibbs in two leagues, yeah.
- 23:06Speaker 4: And I watch his games and I see him just
- 23:09Speaker 4: get smacked and smacked and smacked and smacked. And I'm like,
- 23:12Speaker 4: how is he going to last that long in that game?
- 23:17Speaker 4: You see the punishment they take, and I'm like, there's
- 23:20Speaker 4: no way.
- 23:21Speaker 3: It's like Derrick Henry, bro. They'd be like, oh.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Every year they say he's going to fall off, and
- 23:25Speaker 1: every year he'd still be pretty consistent still.
- 23:27Speaker 4: He's a monster.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Exactly. That's exactly what I was about to say.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Only guys like that, Adrian Peterson, only guys like that
- 23:34Speaker 1: are breaking the mold because they just built a freaking tank, bro.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Anybody else?
- 23:39Speaker 4: So Jerome Bettis was a Brandon Jacobs monster. Brandon Jacobs, yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 4: But even his run wasn't even like all that. Because
- 23:47Speaker 4: he just kept following.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Or like Joe Budden said, everybody's run stops. That's Brandon Jacobs.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Damn, how you know that line?
- 23:52Speaker 3: Bro, I'm telling you, dog.
- 23:53Speaker 4: How you know that line? I was always tapped in
- 23:56Speaker 4: to whatever Joe Budden dropped.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I wasn't like.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't say he was ever a top artist for me,
- 24:03Speaker 1: but there was always dope.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Songs that he dropped that I rocked with. You know
- 24:06Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 24:07Speaker 4: I'm big on.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I'm also big on the lyricism, bro.
- 24:12Speaker 1: If you could say some slick stuff rapping where it
- 24:16Speaker 1: doesn't feel like you're trying to say slick stuff. I
- 24:20Speaker 1: was just talking about it with AJ before we were
- 24:23Speaker 1: talking about it on the pod. I hate a rapper
- 24:27Speaker 1: that talks about how they rap. As soon as you're
- 24:30Speaker 1: telling me how good of a rapper you are, that's it.
- 24:33Speaker 3: You're not creative. That's corny, bro.
- 24:35Speaker 1: You can't tell me you're a good rapper by telling
- 24:37Speaker 1: me you're how good of a rapper you are.
- 24:40Speaker 3: You have to just show me you're a good rapper.
- 24:42Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 24:43Speaker 1: And it's like, that's kind of like, but it's funny.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Cause there's an audience for that. You know what I'm saying?
- 24:48Speaker 1: Like Eminem fans, bro.
- 24:50Speaker 3: They love, they love the, yo, I'm, I'm just way
- 24:52Speaker 3: better at the skill of rapping than you.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Like, okay, cool. Y'all, y'all can have that lane. You
- 24:58Speaker 4: know what I'm saying? There's plenty of artists in that lane.
- 25:00Speaker 1: We only got to keep naming them, but you know, the,
- 25:02Speaker 1: the master, the grandmaster is definitely Eminem, bro. Like, He's
- 25:07Speaker 1: the grandmaster of the fast, lyrical, miracle rap. That's the
- 25:13Speaker 1: funny thing, bro. Every artist you see online that raps
- 25:16Speaker 1: like Eminem, they always say Venom in the verse. That's
- 25:20Speaker 1: like the word that you have to put in every
- 25:21Speaker 1: verse is Venom.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Every Eminem rapper sounds like Eminem. But you know what?
- 25:26Speaker 4: Real quick, to a point, there's still some rappers from
- 25:29Speaker 4: back then, like Wu-Tang. They just had a show in
- 25:32Speaker 4: Orlando last night. And that style of rap, which I
- 25:36Speaker 4: think is like Benny the Butcher, what's their crew called? Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Griselda.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Griselda. I think they are like the new age Wu-Tang.
- 25:46Speaker 4: And I listen to Wu-Tang, but they weren't my favorite. Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 4: So that's why I wasn't crazy about the concert. And
- 25:52Speaker 4: I listen to Griselda, but I don't really listen to
- 25:54Speaker 4: them in my playlist.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yep.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And Wu-Tang, they had that in them to be the
- 25:59Speaker 1: lyrical miracle rappers, you know?
- 26:01Speaker 3: Soccer sheets, philosophies, I'm bumming these, you know what I'm saying?
- 26:05Speaker 1: It's cool, and when you're young and you hear that,
- 26:07Speaker 1: you're like, damn, bro, he's spazzing. But, like, after a while,
- 26:10Speaker 1: it's like, okay, you know what I'm saying? Like, bro,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I think about, like, that's why, like, they'll say, like,
- 26:16Speaker 1: 50 Cent not lyrical, bro.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Like, you're insane. You're insane.
- 26:21Speaker 1: He's not lyrical miracle, but Dawg, like, He has a flow.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Even just like, he's so just like memorable. You know
- 26:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Like even like, bro, like, I need
- 26:34Speaker 1: you to pray for me and I need you to
- 26:37Speaker 1: care for me. Bro, like you could pull out anything
- 26:41Speaker 1: from like a whole bunch of his albums, little pieces
- 26:44Speaker 1: of whatever. And you just, bro, he says some real stuff.
- 26:47Speaker 3: That you just remember, bro.
- 26:47Speaker 4: God gave me style. God gave me grace. That's one
- 26:50Speaker 4: of my favorites.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Bro, song is gas, bro.
- 26:52Speaker 4: You can't develop that harmony. Doing that kind of rap.
- 26:56Speaker 3: And that's the kind of thing that people overlook. Like, oh,
- 27:00Speaker 3: he's not lyrical.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, you got to look past the obvious.
- 27:05Speaker 3: That's the thing to me. It's like, yo, the lyrical
- 27:07Speaker 3: miracle stuff is obvious, bro. That's there.
- 27:09Speaker 4: I could almost predict some of the words. Literally, bro.
- 27:12Speaker 3: But when you was just saying some slick stuff that
- 27:14Speaker 3: you really thought about and you really put it to
- 27:16Speaker 3: a pen in a way that sounds slicker than what
- 27:19Speaker 3: it is, it's like, all right, no.
- 27:21Speaker 4: You want some different stuff. I saw a recent conversation
- 27:23Speaker 4: that I know we get in.
- 27:25Speaker 3: No, no, we good.
- 27:25Speaker 4: We good. Oh, we good. Recent conversation. The Fab and
- 27:32Speaker 4: Mase debate.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I'm Mase all the time.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 27:35Speaker 1: I mean, Mase is one of the reasons why I
- 27:38Speaker 1: started listening to rap, even.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Just seeing him on all that.
- 27:42Speaker 4: But do they have similar styles, though?
- 27:44Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, I always thought Fab bit for Mase. Oh,
- 27:47Speaker 3: he did?
- 27:47Speaker 4: His flow and his style and everything. Oh, I've never
- 27:49Speaker 4: heard that before. Yep.
- 27:50Speaker 3: And Fab has kind of like alluded to it.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Like, you know, obviously he listened to that growing up
- 27:55Speaker 1: and the New York style influenced him.
- 27:57Speaker 3: But that flow, bro, that's.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Mase, dog.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Like that cool laid back, But you still spit in
- 28:03Speaker 1: and it's still like, bro, that's.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Mase, bro.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And honestly- Bro, go to see the- And that even
- 28:09Speaker 1: was like, that was Pharrell.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Pharrell gave it.
- 28:12Speaker 3: He didn't even want to do that.
- 28:13Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Because that's the same flow as Ice Ice Baby.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Oh, I remember hearing that. Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 1: The same flow as the Rob Bass thing, too. Because
- 28:22Speaker 1: Ice Ice Baby even steals it from Rob Bass. And
- 28:24Speaker 1: that was Pharrell's idea? That was Pharrell's idea. He had
- 28:26Speaker 1: to damn near force him to do it, and that
- 28:28Speaker 1: ended up being his biggest song. You know what I mean?
- 28:31Speaker 1: But yeah, bro, like- I mean, to me, this whole
- 28:37Speaker 1: Fab versus Lloyd Banks versus Jimmy Jones, all that conversation, bro,
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'd be low-key like, bro, why are y'all even bringing
- 28:47Speaker 1: Mase up in this conversation?
- 28:49Speaker 3: Mase is up here, bro.
- 28:51Speaker 1: People sleep on Mase because he took a big time
- 28:54Speaker 1: off and he was a pastor for.
- 28:55Speaker 4: A little bit. He was able to rap on any beat.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Bro, and he would be... Yo, you would hear Mase
- 29:01Speaker 1: on a song with DMX. And then do a song
- 29:04Speaker 1: with Mariah the next day. Bro, and he'll kill it
- 29:07Speaker 1: on both songs, bro. Like, Mase was so versatile. Mase
- 29:10Speaker 1: wrote so much stuff, like, so much bad boy stuff
- 29:13Speaker 1: back in those days.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Yeah, he wrote a lot. I mentioned earlier, 24 Hours
- 29:17Speaker 4: to Live, like, that's still one of the hardest songs ever.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Bro, super banger, super banger.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And it's like, it's one of those things where, you know,
- 29:27Speaker 1: out of sight, out of mind, but like, Bro, comparing
- 29:31Speaker 1: him to Fab, I always felt with Fab, I always like.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Him in the moment. Always.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Anytime Fab drops something at the time, I like it.
- 29:40Speaker 1: but it don't got no replay value for me like
- 29:42Speaker 1: honestly like I don't really have like a library of
- 29:45Speaker 1: Fab stuff that I go back to cause it's like.
- 29:47Speaker 4: You wanna hear a hot take what is Fab Drake's
- 29:53Speaker 4: rap version of himself what do you mean like the
- 29:56Speaker 4: way Fab rhymes and the way Drake rhymes You think
- 29:59Speaker 4: they're similar? Like when Drake raps, would you compare that
- 30:05Speaker 4: to Fab's rhymes?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Bro, I would even say Drake's rapping is like, he
- 30:11Speaker 3: out-raps Fab even. I don't know if I can go there.
- 30:17Speaker 1: The Fab stuff just doesn't stick with me like other
- 30:20Speaker 1: music does.
- 30:21Speaker 3: And it's just a preference thing, obviously, bro. I'm not.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm not shitting on Fab because I listen to all,
- 30:26Speaker 1: like if you play some Fab right now, I probably
- 30:27Speaker 1: know it word for word.
- 30:29Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 30:30Speaker 1: It's just when I hear it nowadays, I don't let
- 30:34Speaker 1: it ride like I let some Nas ride, some Mase ride.
- 30:37Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Bro, that, in my like loose rotation, I got that
- 30:42Speaker 1: what you want, the total joint. Because like bro, he
- 30:46Speaker 1: raps so smooth on that and that joint is so dope.
- 30:48Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 30:50Speaker 4: Bro.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I mean, that's just like one of the songs, but
- 30:53Speaker 1: like a lot of the Mase stuff just still holds
- 30:55Speaker 1: up so well and it's.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Like such a good vibe. I would say I'm equally
- 31:05Speaker 4: put them in the same tier, maybe at the same level.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Fab and Mase?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah, because I enjoy them both so much. I genuinely
- 31:12Speaker 3: feel like that's like.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Growing up, like when Harlamo came out, he started wearing
- 31:17Speaker 4: his hat backwards, covering his eyebrows. I used to do
- 31:19Speaker 4: that too. I know every Mase album, all his freestyles,
- 31:24Speaker 4: but I know the same with Fab.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Man, Fab was super influential and dope, but I don't
- 31:29Speaker 1: even think you can put him and Mase in the
- 31:30Speaker 1: same sentence, bro.
- 31:31Speaker 4: I think today, and I think that's where most of
- 31:34Speaker 4: these arguments come from, today, Fab's still gone. Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 3: He's still going, but like, I don't know, bro.
- 31:42Speaker 4: I don't know, man. He's still going. He's gone. It's
- 31:45Speaker 4: like LeBron and MJ, right? Who's... Just because you've gone
- 31:49Speaker 4: the longest.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Nah, bro.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Does that mean you're better? But you're still relevant. But
- 31:53Speaker 4: the quality of what Fab has been doing is not like.
- 31:56Speaker 4: But he still does shows and he still does concerts.
- 31:58Speaker 3: I mean, all artists still do shows. But Mase does.
- 32:00Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 32:01Speaker 1: We're talking about Mase and Fab. See, but you talking
- 32:03Speaker 1: about Mase. He wrote so much stuff. He don't need
- 32:06Speaker 1: to perform. He's not in the situation Fab was in.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Because like we talked about. Pharrell told him, use this flow,
- 32:12Speaker 1: and he was produced. Mase was producing himself. That's why
- 32:18Speaker 1: he could sit back and just be the legend Mase,
- 32:21Speaker 1: because he's in a different situation musically. And even just financially,
- 32:26Speaker 1: where he don't need to be on the road. Being
- 32:29Speaker 1: on the road as an artist is crucial because a
- 32:31Speaker 1: lot of these people are not getting big cuts of
- 32:33Speaker 1: their music.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Especially Phab. A lot of the big stuff that you
- 32:36Speaker 3: remember Phab from is features on other people's stuff.
- 32:39Speaker 1: That's what really had him hot. It's just like he
- 32:42Speaker 1: was always so hot. No, but he had his mixtapes too.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Yeah, but as.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Far as people really knowing him, what kept him hot
- 32:49Speaker 1: was he was so hot that people would get him
- 32:51Speaker 1: on songs.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Like the Ne-Yo song.
- 32:54Speaker 4: You know, he was always on the dope R &
- 32:55Speaker 4: B record, the Jagged Edge.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Joint, you know what I mean?
- 32:58Speaker 4: But he had the soul tapes.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Tamiya, you know what I mean? He was on the
- 33:01Speaker 3: NT remix. And then was the Funeral Fab. No, he
- 33:03Speaker 3: had a run with the bass tapes too.
- 33:05Speaker 1: He had that run, but dog, people, like people outside
- 33:08Speaker 1: of us was not listening to that, bro.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Nobody was listening to that, like outside of us. It
- 33:13Speaker 1: wasn't even like, they weren't even playing that in the clubs,
- 33:15Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying?
- 33:16Speaker 3: Like, at those times.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Yeah, they weren't. They definitely weren't.
- 33:20Speaker 1: Like I said, bro, it sounds like I don't like Fab,
- 33:22Speaker 1: but I did. I liked Fab growing up. I know
- 33:26Speaker 1: a lot of his music. I used to dress like Fab.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I'm not putting one in front of the other, so
- 33:30Speaker 4: I don't take offense to anything. I feel the same
- 33:32Speaker 4: way about Mase, but I feel the same way about Fab.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I don't take offense to either or. I couldn't pick
- 33:38Speaker 4: between them two.
- 33:41Speaker 3: To me, Fab makes sense. Him, Jim Jones, Lloyd Banks.
- 33:46Speaker 1: dave east like that i feel like he's in that
- 33:49Speaker 1: tier okay you know i mean he got big songs
- 33:51Speaker 1: but again jim jones got big songs too you know
- 33:54Speaker 1: i'm saying um what was the lloyd banks got big
- 33:57Speaker 1: songs too they all probably got the same kind of
- 34:01Speaker 1: like numbers as far as like global like.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Hits and stuff yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But they're like you know they're more like regional i
- 34:08Speaker 1: feel like you know i'm saying like people know them
- 34:09Speaker 1: but like like like I bet you a 21-year-old kid
- 34:13Speaker 1: is not going to know anything from Fab, you know
- 34:15Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Like, same way he probably won't know
- 34:17Speaker 1: anything from Mase, but he'll recognize the Mase stuff more
- 34:20Speaker 1: because it was more impactful, you know.
- 34:22Speaker 4: What I mean? Yeah, Bad Boy was a lot bigger
- 34:23Speaker 4: than Fabs.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Nah, for sure.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Yo, speaking of Bad Boy, bro, I know Diddy getting
- 34:29Speaker 1: out got delayed, but he's supposed to be getting out soon, bro.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I think February.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's next year, but... Yeah, February next year. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 3: we already passed February. What am I saying?
- 34:38Speaker 4: But yeah.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Rob Markman, that's going to be What do you think
- 34:41Speaker 1: he going to do on his What route do you
- 34:43Speaker 1: think he going to take?
- 34:44Speaker 4: He's going to go right back to what he was doing.
- 34:46Speaker 4: Rob Markman, You think so? Yeah. As far as business
- 34:50Speaker 4: and the game-wise, he's going to be out there. He's
- 34:53Speaker 4: going to do Netflix documentaries, Hulu documentaries, probably put out
- 34:57Speaker 4: an album with Kanye.
- 34:59Speaker 3: Rob Markman, You think so? I feel like he's done
- 35:02Speaker 3: with the music.
- 35:03Speaker 4: But if everything that Kanye's done And that doesn't stop him.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I just feel like Diddy's done with the music for
- 35:09Speaker 1: some reason. I don't have no reason to think that.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I don't think he's ever been.
- 35:14Speaker 4: You know one thing I saw about Diddy that surprised
- 35:16Speaker 4: me is that he was in studio sessions with Khaled
- 35:20Speaker 4: and all these random artists that had nothing to do
- 35:22Speaker 4: with him. But he was in all those studio sessions.
- 35:26Speaker 4: So I feel like he's still tapped into the music.
- 35:29Speaker 3: No, no.
- 35:31Speaker 1: They've always hailed how much of a genius he was musically.
- 35:34Speaker 1: And even when he was like, an intern back in
- 35:37Speaker 1: the day, before he really got his deal and got
- 35:40Speaker 1: put on and everything, they said he would notice, like, yo,
- 35:45Speaker 1: this artist is next to blow. He would see the
- 35:47Speaker 1: label pushing somebody and be like, I don't know about him.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Maybe this guy, though, I think he was going to
- 35:51Speaker 1: be somebody. And then it would end up going that way.
- 35:54Speaker 1: So he definitely got the ear and he got the
- 35:56Speaker 1: eye for it.
- 35:57Speaker 4: But I don't know, man.
- 35:58Speaker 3: I think to me it's more the age thing. After
- 36:02Speaker 3: going through that. The kind of person I am. R.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Kelly's still making songs in jail, bruh.
- 36:09Speaker 4: But R.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Kelly's an artist. He's an artist.
- 36:11Speaker 4: He's a singer, singer. No, but when you love that,
- 36:13Speaker 4: I don't think that'll ever stop.
- 36:16Speaker 3: That's true.
- 36:16Speaker 4: He still probably do got that love for sure. And
- 36:20Speaker 4: I think that's be a way for... And that's how
- 36:22Speaker 4: I feel about Kanye is like, I think this is
- 36:24Speaker 4: the way to still prove themselves. They are who they
- 36:27Speaker 4: were or want to be back to who they were
- 36:29Speaker 4: because of the music they use the music for. And
- 36:31Speaker 4: I think they will do the same. Yeah, facts.
- 36:34Speaker 1: We'll kind of wrap it up there. I also wanted
- 36:37Speaker 1: to just shout out Akeem Ali, man. I seen him
- 36:39Speaker 1: on The Breakfast Club, and he did something dope, man.
- 36:42Speaker 1: He really went on air, shouted out his tour, and said, yo,
- 36:47Speaker 1: the tickets ain't selling as well as I thought they would.
- 36:50Speaker 1: And he literally said the city names and said the
- 36:54Speaker 1: venue size and how many tickets sold. And some of
- 36:56Speaker 1: them was like 800-person venue, 100 tickets sold, you know,
- 37:00Speaker 1: 500 person venue, 60 tickets sold.
- 37:03Speaker 3: He kept it super real, bro. Super, super real.
- 37:05Speaker 4: That's very transparent for artists.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and it kind of brings it all full circle.
- 37:09Speaker 1: You look him up online, he got crazy views. He's
- 37:12Speaker 1: gone viral a few times with different joints that he's done.
- 37:15Speaker 1: He's super dope. He's somebody that I listen to. Shout
- 37:17Speaker 1: out to my boy Freddie. He put me on to him.
- 37:19Speaker 1: And shout out to First Day Fresh also. They do
- 37:23Speaker 1: music reviews and stuff out of Mississippi and he's always
- 37:26Speaker 1: spotlighted him back in the day. But It was surprising
- 37:31Speaker 1: to me to see, like, you know, the slow ticket sales.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Like, me seeing, like, yo, he's so dope, and I
- 37:37Speaker 3: see him online all the time. But that's my algorithm.
- 37:40Speaker 3: You know what I mean? It ain't popping up for everybody.
- 37:43Speaker 4: So those numbers could be deceiving.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I wanted to shout out his Orlando show, man. October 2nd,
- 37:49Speaker 1: he going to be at Beachum. And he mentioned that
- 37:53Speaker 1: show in the thing. Like, I think it holds, like,
- 37:56Speaker 1: 800 people. And he only got like 100 tickets sold.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure after talking about it on The Breakfast Club,
- 38:01Speaker 1: he's going to sell two. But I definitely wanted to
- 38:03Speaker 1: shout it out. I'm honestly thinking about pulling up to
- 38:05Speaker 1: that just because I'm a fan of him. And something
- 38:09Speaker 1: that I've done in the past that I regret is
- 38:11Speaker 1: not taking advantage to see certain artists when they're around,
- 38:14Speaker 1: especially when they're at a smaller spot and it's easy.
- 38:17Speaker 4: To see them. Yeah, early on in their career before
- 38:19Speaker 4: you put it on.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's definitely something I want to be a
- 38:22Speaker 1: part of. Hopefully I can make it out there. If not,
- 38:24Speaker 1: somebody let us know how it went. Again, we got
- 38:28Speaker 1: our event. When you're hearing this, it's going to be tonight. Tonight,
- 38:32Speaker 1: September 24th, Feel Good Farms in Osteen. Make sure y'all
- 38:36Speaker 1: pull up, tap in. Keep a lookout on some of
- 38:39Speaker 1: the new type of stuff that we're going to be doing.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Shout out to everybody that's been tapping in with us,
- 38:44Speaker 1: especially the local people, man.
- 38:46Speaker 3: That's been big love.
- 38:47Speaker 1: And whenever somebody actually takes their time and money to
- 38:51Speaker 1: come and support what you got going on and enjoy themselves, bro,
- 38:54Speaker 1: that's like, That's a good sign. And the fact that
- 38:56Speaker 1: they come back lets you know you earned.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Their trust, man.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Shout out to that side of town, man.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I never really been to that side of town until
- 39:02Speaker 4: I met you.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Yeah, Volusia County, man. Yeah, shout out to Volusia County.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I just moved out there five, six years ago, man.
- 39:07Speaker 3: And I really like that area.
- 39:09Speaker 1: I really like, like you said, the way that side
- 39:12Speaker 1: of town be is super dope. Orlando's blown up so
- 39:16Speaker 1: much that it feels like a big city now, which
- 39:19Speaker 1: is dope.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 1: But also it's like, man, it's sometimes you don't want
- 39:22Speaker 1: to be in that, in that environment all the time.
- 39:24Speaker 4: So. Always chill when we pull up there. I love it.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Thank y'all for tapping in, man. See some of y'all tomorrow.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Everybody else, stay butter.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Thank you.
