- 5:08Speaker 5: My dog bit a chicken's head off.
- 5:14Speaker 3: It's so funny, it's so traumatizing.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Look, we all have a taste for chicken. We all
- 5:22Speaker 4: like chicken.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Thanks for listening to The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with
- 5:25Speaker 5: producer Blake.
- 5:26Speaker 3: This is the most traumatizing thing that has ever happened
- 5:29Speaker 3: to me in farm life. And if you've ever been
- 5:30Speaker 3: considering getting informed, don't do it. Here's what happened. Yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 3: please go on. I was in the yard and I
- 5:39Speaker 3: moved the chicks.
- 5:40Speaker 5: It was the baby chicks I brought in here for
- 5:42Speaker 5: you last week when you were a chicken mother, the
- 5:46Speaker 5: ones with the fluffy head. They were like two month
- 5:48Speaker 5: old chicks. So I moved them outside. It was time
- 5:50Speaker 5: for him to go outside.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:52Speaker 9: Yeah, And I have like one of those dog runs
- 5:55Speaker 9: that's like a metal four by six and it's covered,
- 5:59Speaker 9: and so I've made that a chicken house for my
- 6:01Speaker 9: young chickens to transition, okay, and I've got like the
- 6:05Speaker 9: bottom half lined with what's the stuff, windows screen, windows screen,
- 6:11Speaker 9: so that the chicks can't fit through the hole.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Well, I was out there fixing their little area while
- 6:18Speaker 5: they were in the enclosure, and I locked myself in
- 6:21Speaker 5: the enclosure, okay, and Booty, my Roightweller German Shepherd mix
- 6:26Speaker 5: that you have seen before, all one hundred and twelve
- 6:28Speaker 5: pounds of him, giant dog, yeah.
- 6:30Speaker 4: It looks three hundred and twelve pounds.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Was sitting outside the enclosure. Well, I didn't know one
- 6:36Speaker 3: of these.
- 6:36Speaker 8: Stupid fliffy headed chicks could jump as high as it did.
- 6:40Speaker 5: And it jumped like three feet high and stuck its
- 6:44Speaker 5: head out of the hole.
- 6:45Speaker 3: And before I could even process what it did, my
- 6:49Speaker 3: dog just went home.
- 6:52Speaker 5: And I saw guts on the thing, and I went, oh,
- 6:55Speaker 5: he bit his beak off.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And then I look down and there's a chicken body
- 6:59Speaker 3: with no head. And do you know, do you know how.
- 7:02Speaker 8: Long chicken bodies running after a head'spin cut off of it?
- 7:05Speaker 8: Because I've never seen that before until this weekend. It's
- 7:09Speaker 8: like thirty seconds. It felt like thirty minutes.
- 7:13Speaker 5: It was like running and flopping, and I was looking
- 7:16Speaker 5: at it, going, what do I do?
- 7:17Speaker 3: Do I put it out of its misery? Already put
- 7:20Speaker 3: its misery. It didn't look that it was running around
- 7:24Speaker 3: no head, what do you didn't it? Finally it fell
- 7:26Speaker 3: over and it was done.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Then I spent twenty minutes scouring my yard looking for
- 7:33Speaker 5: the chicken head.
- 7:34Speaker 3: My dog ate it. It's a little track storre. He
- 7:37Speaker 3: had its head. Oh you shut up.
- 7:41Speaker 10: I just like he just he was hungry and apparently
- 7:44Speaker 10: you've not fed him enough.
- 7:46Speaker 3: No, I didn't feed him.
- 7:47Speaker 5: After that. He went to bed with no dinner because
- 7:49Speaker 5: I was so mad. That's something, a traumatizing thing I've
- 7:53Speaker 5: ever seen in my life.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And you can't be mad at your dog for being
- 7:56Speaker 3: a dog.
- 7:58Speaker 4: This is this was your decision. Hold a four.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I know, call the show.
