- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi there, faithful listeners. Today we're going to be talking
- 0:03Speaker 1: about the building of the Temple and just how absolutely
- 0:06Speaker 1: beautiful the temple really was. We're gonna get into that
- 0:11Speaker 1: today in Second Chronicles, Chapter three, so stay tuned for
- 0:15Speaker 1: a really great episode. So today has been a very
- 0:25Speaker 1: nice day so far. It started out kind of rainy,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and now it's beautiful and sunny and cold. You know,
- 0:32Speaker 1: I feel like fall weather has finally hit. You know.
- 0:34Speaker 1: The leaves in my area are fully colorful at this point.
- 0:40Speaker 1: There's really no well there's a little bit of green
- 0:42Speaker 1: left on the trees, but not very much anymore. And
- 0:45Speaker 1: I have this really pretty tree in my backyard. I
- 0:48Speaker 1: forget the name of it, but it's like it's like
- 0:51Speaker 1: bright red. Every single year, it just the leaves turn
- 0:55Speaker 1: like this waxy, absolutely gorgeous, bright red color, and it
- 0:59Speaker 1: just is so so pretty as compared to all the
- 1:02Speaker 1: oranges and yellows of the rest of the trees in
- 1:04Speaker 1: my backyard. It's like a pop of just gorgeous color.
- 1:08Speaker 1: But I hope your guys' fall is going well so far.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I was able to hang out with my niece this weekend.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We went to a fall festival and that was just
- 1:17Speaker 1: an absolute blast. There was like a hay ride and
- 1:20Speaker 1: this like jump pad thing, which as an adult, I
- 1:23Speaker 1: don't think I was allowed to be on it. It
- 1:26Speaker 1: was like a bunch of eight year old my niece
- 1:28Speaker 1: and me, and uh yeah, I don't necessarily know if
- 1:31Speaker 1: I was allowed on it, but the lady didn't yell
- 1:33Speaker 1: at me. But I was definitely the only adult on
- 1:36Speaker 1: that jump pad and it was fun. It was really fun.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But yeah, that's what I did over this past week.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And you know, my sister, my niece, and my brother
- 1:45Speaker 1: in law, they just left to go back home yesterday.
- 1:48Speaker 1: So sad to see them go, but I'm excited they'll
- 1:51Speaker 1: be back next month for Thanksgiving. Tell me how your
- 1:55Speaker 1: week is going so far. I do love hearing from
- 1:58Speaker 1: all of you guys. You're gonna find my contact and
- 2:00Speaker 1: information listed in the description of this episode, but also
- 2:02Speaker 1: you can contact me if you have a prayerquest, because
- 2:05Speaker 1: if you send me your prayer request, I do read
- 2:07Speaker 1: all my emails. By the way, I will read your
- 2:09Speaker 1: prayerquest and I will pray for you for the week.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I write everybody down in my little prayer journal, which
- 2:15Speaker 1: is basically just my planner. I write you down, and
- 2:18Speaker 1: I will pray for you for the week. So please
- 2:22Speaker 1: do that if you have a prayer request that you
- 2:24Speaker 1: would like me to pray for. Let's go ahead and
- 2:26Speaker 1: read second Chronicles three today, the entire thing, and we'll
- 2:29Speaker 1: talk about the beginning of the building of the temple,
- 2:32Speaker 1: all the beauty that goes into it, and how this
- 2:34Speaker 1: relates to us nowadays. Even though you would think that
- 2:37Speaker 1: it doesn't, it certainly does. I'll be reading this chapter
- 2:41Speaker 1: from the web as usual. Then Solomon began to build
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yahwa's house at Jerusalem on Mount Mariah, where Yahweh appeared
- 2:49Speaker 1: to David, his father, which he prepared in the place
- 2:51Speaker 1: that David had appointed on the threshing floor of Ornan,
- 2:54Speaker 1: Thebu site. He began to build in the second day
- 2:57Speaker 1: of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Now these are the foundations which Solomon laid for the
- 3:02Speaker 1: building of God's house. The length by cubits after the
- 3:05Speaker 1: first measure with sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.
- 3:09Speaker 1: The porch that was in the front its length across.
- 3:12Speaker 1: The width of the house was twenty cubits, and the
- 3:14Speaker 1: height one hundred and twenty and he overlaid it with
- 3:17Speaker 1: pure gold. He made the larger room with a ceiling
- 3:20Speaker 1: of cypress wood, which he overlaid with fine gold and
- 3:23Speaker 1: ornamented it with palm trees and chains. He decorated the
- 3:26Speaker 1: house with precious stones for beauty. The gold was gold
- 3:29Speaker 1: from Perveaum. He also overlaid the house the beams, the thresholds,
- 3:33Speaker 1: its walls, and its doors with gold, and engraved at
- 3:36Speaker 1: cherubim on the walls. He made the Most Holy Place.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Its length, according to the width of the house, was
- 3:42Speaker 1: twenty cubits and its width twenty cubits, and he overlaid
- 3:46Speaker 1: it with fine gold amounting to six hundred talons. The
- 3:49Speaker 1: weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. He
- 3:52Speaker 1: overlaid the upper rooms with gold. In the Most Holy Place,
- 3:56Speaker 1: he made two cherubim by carving, and he overlaid them
- 3:59Speaker 1: with gold. The wings of the cherubim were twenty cubits long.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The wing of the one was five cubits, reaching to
- 4:05Speaker 1: the wall of the house, and the other wing was
- 4:07Speaker 1: five cubits reaching to the wing of the other cherub
- 4:10Speaker 1: The wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching
- 4:13Speaker 1: to the wall of the house, and the other wing
- 4:15Speaker 1: was five cubits, joining to the wing of the other
- 4:18Speaker 1: cherub The wings of these cherubim spread themselves out twenty cubits.
- 4:22Speaker 1: They stood on their feet, and their faces were toward
- 4:24Speaker 1: the house. He made the veil of blue, purple, crimson,
- 4:28Speaker 1: and fine linen, and ornamented it with cherubim. Also, he
- 4:32Speaker 1: made before the house two pillars thirty five cubits high,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and the capital that was at the top of each
- 4:36Speaker 1: of them was five cubits. He made chains in the
- 4:39Speaker 1: inner sanctuary and put them on the tops of the pillars.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And he made one hundred pomegranates and put them on
- 4:45Speaker 1: the chains. He set up the pillars before the temple,
- 4:48Speaker 1: one on the right hand and the other on the left,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and he called the name of the one on the
- 4:52Speaker 1: right hand Jaquin, and the name of that on the
- 4:54Speaker 1: left Boaz. So now the building of the temple has
- 4:59Speaker 1: finally been gun, Solomon decides that it is time. The
- 5:03Speaker 1: tene Meeting is over and done with, and the temple
- 5:06Speaker 1: needs to be built now. The tene Meeting was what
- 5:09Speaker 1: God had told the Israelites to build back in the
- 5:12Speaker 1: days of the wilderness. That was going to be their
- 5:15Speaker 1: place of meeting, their church essentially, and the Tene Meeting,
- 5:20Speaker 1: because it was a tent, traveled around with the people.
- 5:24Speaker 1: But Solomon decides it is time to retire the Tene
- 5:26Speaker 1: Meeting and build a brick and mortar place for the
- 5:29Speaker 1: people to come and worship God. So in verse one,
- 5:32Speaker 1: it says Solomon began to build Yahwai's house at Jerusalem
- 5:35Speaker 1: on Mount Mariah where Yahweh appeared to David his father,
- 5:39Speaker 1: which he prepared in the place that David had appointed
- 5:42Speaker 1: on the threshing floor of Ornan, the Jebusite. So you
- 5:45Speaker 1: guys remember the story of why David purchased Mount Mariah
- 5:50Speaker 1: to begin with, It was because of Israel's sin. Israel
- 5:53Speaker 1: had done something to royally irritate God, and God was
- 5:59Speaker 1: going to destroy all of Jerusalem. So David is looking
- 6:03Speaker 1: out over the city and he sees this like destroying angel,
- 6:08Speaker 1: just like chilling out on Mount Mariah. And David of course,
- 6:12Speaker 1: is freaked out. So he goes up to Mount Mariah
- 6:16Speaker 1: asks the guy who owned it if he could purchase
- 6:19Speaker 1: it so that he could do a sacrifice to God
- 6:23Speaker 1: and try to beg God to forgive his people. So Ornan,
- 6:27Speaker 1: the b site sells the land to David. David builds
- 6:31Speaker 1: an altar and sacrifices to God, and God at that
- 6:34Speaker 1: point forgives the people. So David decides this is a
- 6:37Speaker 1: perfect location for the temple. And you remember that before
- 6:42Speaker 1: Solomon started building, David, Solomon's dad was the one who
- 6:46Speaker 1: really wanted the temple to be built. So David, for
- 6:51Speaker 1: much of his older life, spent a lot of time
- 6:55Speaker 1: actually gathering tons of materials, researching, making plans for the
- 7:01Speaker 1: building of the temple. So all Solomon had to do
- 7:03Speaker 1: really was say go and people would just start building
- 7:07Speaker 1: it because all the plans were in place and all
- 7:09Speaker 1: the materials were there. But it took Solomon four years
- 7:14Speaker 1: after he became king to actually follow through with building
- 7:18Speaker 1: the temple. And I don't really know why. Scripture does
- 7:21Speaker 1: not explain why. It could be that Solomon wanted to
- 7:24Speaker 1: be established as king before he really took on this
- 7:29Speaker 1: huge project, because this was a big, big project for
- 7:33Speaker 1: a king to do, especially a temple of this magnitude.
- 7:37Speaker 1: You know, this was a big project. Even though David
- 7:40Speaker 1: had done a lot of the prep work beforehand. Still,
- 7:42Speaker 1: I'm sure Solomon wanted to establish his kingdom and make
- 7:45Speaker 1: sure that everything was right before he began. So it
- 7:49Speaker 1: says in verse two he began to build on the
- 7:52Speaker 1: second day of the second month, in the fourth year
- 7:54Speaker 1: of his reign. Now these are the foundations which Solomon
- 7:58Speaker 1: laid for the building of God's house. The length by
- 8:01Speaker 1: cubits after the first measure was sixty cubits, and the
- 8:05Speaker 1: width was twenty cubits. So a cubit, as you guys know,
- 8:11Speaker 1: was a unit of measurements used by the ancient peoples,
- 8:14Speaker 1: and it was precisely the length of a man's elbow
- 8:20Speaker 1: to the tip of his middle finger, so it was
- 8:24Speaker 1: about a foot and a half approximately, or eighteen inches
- 8:27Speaker 1: or forty six centimeters. So based upon the cubit for measurements,
- 8:33Speaker 1: the temple was approximately ninety feet long by thirty feet
- 8:38Speaker 1: wide or twenty seven meters long by nine meters wide.
- 8:43Speaker 1: So shockingly enough, the temple was rather small. Actually, it
- 8:47Speaker 1: was not a very big temple, but there was a
- 8:51Speaker 1: lot that went into it regardless, it says in verse
- 8:54Speaker 1: four that there was a porch in the front. Its
- 8:56Speaker 1: length across. The width of the house was twenty cubits,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and its height one hundred and twenty, so he might
- 9:03Speaker 1: be looking at that being like, Wow, that's a really
- 9:05Speaker 1: really tall porch in the front there. The Hebrew is
- 9:09Speaker 1: not known as to how tall the porch was in
- 9:12Speaker 1: the front. Most people think that it was probably twenty
- 9:14Speaker 1: cubits by twenty cubits square. But the reason the Hebrew
- 9:18Speaker 1: is not known is because the original text does not
- 9:21Speaker 1: include cubits when talking about the height of the porch,
- 9:26Speaker 1: so most people just translate it as one hundred and
- 9:29Speaker 1: twenty without saying cubits. That's what it says right here
- 9:32Speaker 1: in verse four says the porch across the width was
- 9:35Speaker 1: twenty cubits and the height one hundred and twenty without
- 9:39Speaker 1: saying cubits. So basically nobody really knows how high the
- 9:44Speaker 1: porch was, just due to the fact that the original
- 9:46Speaker 1: text does not give the unit of measurement. But this
- 9:50Speaker 1: porch was beautiful because it says it was overlaid within
- 9:53Speaker 1: with pure gold. In fact, pretty much everything was overlaid
- 9:57Speaker 1: with gold. It says the larger room was with a
- 10:00Speaker 1: ceiling of cypress wood, which he overlaid with fine gold
- 10:04Speaker 1: and ornamented it with palm trees and chains. And the
- 10:07Speaker 1: house was decorated with precious stones for beauty. He also
- 10:12Speaker 1: overlaid the house, the beams, the thresholds, the walls, and
- 10:15Speaker 1: the doors with gold, and engraved Cherubim on the walls.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So pretty much everything inside the temple was overlaid with gold.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So the inside of this temple was absolutely beautiful. And
- 10:29Speaker 1: that's not even talking about the Most Holy Place. If
- 10:31Speaker 1: he continue in verse eight, it says he also made
- 10:33Speaker 1: the Most Holy Place its length, according to the width
- 10:36Speaker 1: of the house was twenty cubits and its width was
- 10:38Speaker 1: twenty cubits, and he overlaid it with fine gold amounting
- 10:42Speaker 1: to six hundred talons. The weight of the nails was
- 10:45Speaker 1: fifty shekels of gold. He overlaid the upper rooms with gold,
- 10:50Speaker 1: so everything was overlaid with gold. Like the entire inside
- 10:54Speaker 1: of this temple was absolutely gorgeous. It actually even says
- 10:57Speaker 1: the nails were made of gold as well for the
- 11:00Speaker 1: Most Holy Place. Because Solomon was not going to spare
- 11:03Speaker 1: any expenses when building this temple, everything was going to
- 11:06Speaker 1: be beautiful. Not to mention, there were decorations in the
- 11:09Speaker 1: Most Holy Place as well. It says that there were
- 11:11Speaker 1: cherubim carvings. He said he made two cherubims by carving
- 11:16Speaker 1: and overlaid them with gold. The wings of the cherubim
- 11:19Speaker 1: were twenty cubits long. The wing of the one cherub
- 11:22Speaker 1: was five cubits reaching to the wall of the house,
- 11:25Speaker 1: and the other wing was five cubits reaching to the
- 11:27Speaker 1: wing of the other cherub. So basically there were these
- 11:31Speaker 1: two big cherubums where there are wings were ten cubits
- 11:36Speaker 1: in width between the two wings. And if I'm thinking correctly,
- 11:40Speaker 1: the leftmost cherub, its left wing was touching the leftmost wall,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and then its right wing was touching the other cherub.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And then that cherub its rightmost wing was touching the
- 11:54Speaker 1: right wall, and then its leftmost wing was touching the
- 11:58Speaker 1: other chaerirub. So basically the two chair wings in the
- 12:01Speaker 1: middle were like touching each other, and then the wings
- 12:04Speaker 1: on the right or left side, whichever cherub was touching
- 12:08Speaker 1: the wall, if that makes sense. And these two cherub
- 12:10Speaker 1: were looking out into the temple. And that's what you
- 12:14Speaker 1: would see when you walked right in is these two
- 12:17Speaker 1: big cherubim basically looking at you, reminding you that you
- 12:22Speaker 1: better be careful inside of God's temple. And there are
- 12:27Speaker 1: cherubim all over the place actually, and not just those
- 12:29Speaker 1: big carvings, but there are also cherubim engraved into the
- 12:33Speaker 1: walls as well, and I believe they are a cherubum
- 12:37Speaker 1: also on the veil itself. So that's talked about right here.
- 12:41Speaker 1: It says in verse fourteen he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and fine linen and ornamented it with cherubum. So cherubim
- 12:51Speaker 1: we're all over the temple. And you might be like, jen,
- 12:54Speaker 1: are these graven images that Solomon is putting everywhere? I
- 12:58Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know if that was necessarily Solomon's
- 13:02Speaker 1: intention to make graven images that people would worship inside
- 13:08Speaker 1: the temple, but it very well could be that after
- 13:11Speaker 1: a while, you know, as Israel falls more and more
- 13:14Speaker 1: into idolatry, and as God's temple becomes a place of
- 13:18Speaker 1: idolatry later on, especially in the Book of Ezekiel, that
- 13:22Speaker 1: these cherubim that Solomon made may have become idols that
- 13:26Speaker 1: the Israelites were worshiping. And that's why I think that
- 13:30Speaker 1: at the very beginning, when God gives the Ten Commandments
- 13:32Speaker 1: to his people, when he says, don't make any engraven images,
- 13:36Speaker 1: he's probably talking about stuff like these cherubim, because people
- 13:40Speaker 1: just have a tendency to worship these things, to worship
- 13:45Speaker 1: things made with human hands. And that's still the case today.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Even though we don't bow down and worship a statue,
- 13:53Speaker 1: at least most of us don't, we still worship man
- 13:56Speaker 1: made objects all the time, whether it's money or possessions
- 14:01Speaker 1: or you know, social media or fame or anything like that.
- 14:05Speaker 1: We worship things made by human beings. And that's why
- 14:09Speaker 1: God told the Israelites don't have any engraven images, because
- 14:14Speaker 1: they're too much of a temptation for you to start worshiping.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But I don't know though, I don't know if these
- 14:20Speaker 1: cherubim ever became idols, but it is a possibility that
- 14:24Speaker 1: they did. I think Solomon's intention, though, was just to
- 14:27Speaker 1: make the inside of the temple absolutely beautiful, as close
- 14:32Speaker 1: to the throne room of Heaven as you can get
- 14:35Speaker 1: on earth. And of course, the one thing we know
- 14:38Speaker 1: that is perpetually in the throne room other than God himself,
- 14:42Speaker 1: our angels worshiping him and serving him day after day.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So these cherubim inside the temple were probably a representation
- 14:50Speaker 1: of God's throne room and then of verses fifteen through seventeen.
- 14:54Speaker 1: He also made before the house two pillars thirty five
- 14:57Speaker 1: cuba ti, and the capital that was on the top
- 15:00Speaker 1: of each of them was five cubits. He made the
- 15:03Speaker 1: chains in the inner sanctuary. He put them on the
- 15:05Speaker 1: tops of the pillars, and he made one hundred pomegranates
- 15:08Speaker 1: and put them on the chains. He set up the
- 15:11Speaker 1: pillars before the temple, one on the right hand and
- 15:13Speaker 1: the other on the left, and he called the name
- 15:15Speaker 1: of the one on the right hand Jaquin, and the
- 15:18Speaker 1: name of that on the left Boaz. So these two
- 15:21Speaker 1: big pillars were inside of God's temple and they got named.
- 15:27Speaker 1: One of them was named Jacquine, the one on the right,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and the one on the left was named Boaz. And
- 15:32Speaker 1: so if you look at what those two names mean,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Jacquine means he shall establish and Boaz means in him
- 15:41Speaker 1: is strength. So I mean really fitting names for these
- 15:45Speaker 1: big pillars. You know, when you think of a pillar,
- 15:48Speaker 1: you think of something that is strong and structural, something
- 15:52Speaker 1: that is holding like a building up. Actually, I have
- 15:55Speaker 1: pillars in my house, which is kind of funny. We
- 15:58Speaker 1: have this like open floor plan in my house. And
- 16:03Speaker 1: when you walk in, there's like these two big pillars.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And these pillars, though, they're big and they're strong, and
- 16:09Speaker 1: they're literally holding up my top floor. So these two
- 16:14Speaker 1: pillars inside of the temple, they were strong and structural
- 16:19Speaker 1: and they kind of represented I guess, different aspects of
- 16:23Speaker 1: God with their names, that God was going to establish
- 16:28Speaker 1: this temple, and also that God is strong and powerful.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But of course these two pillars weren't just structural. They
- 16:35Speaker 1: were also beautiful. It says that there were like chains
- 16:38Speaker 1: and wreaths on them, and these these chains were like
- 16:44Speaker 1: decked out. It says he made one hundred pomegranates, like
- 16:47Speaker 1: golden pomegranates and put them on the chains which draped
- 16:51Speaker 1: around these pillars. So everything about this, the inside of
- 16:55Speaker 1: this temple was absolutely gorgeous. And what's really funny about
- 16:59Speaker 1: that is nobody would know how beautiful the inside of
- 17:04Speaker 1: the temple actually was. Not a single person was allowed
- 17:08Speaker 1: to go inside there except the priests. The priests were
- 17:12Speaker 1: the only people welcome inside of God's house because of
- 17:17Speaker 1: how dangerous it was being inside of the temple firstly,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and secondly, you know, it's God's house and just like
- 17:23Speaker 1: you and I have the right to choose who is
- 17:26Speaker 1: allowed to go inside of our houses. God also has
- 17:29Speaker 1: the right to choose who's allowed inside his house, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: he said the priests were the only ones allowed inside
- 17:35Speaker 1: of his house. And then in the Most Holy Place,
- 17:37Speaker 1: the priests weren't even allowed inside there because that's where
- 17:39Speaker 1: God actually lived. Remember that veil that Solomon made here
- 17:44Speaker 1: that was made of blue purple crimson fine linen and
- 17:48Speaker 1: ornamented with cherubim in verse fourteen. Well, that veil was
- 17:52Speaker 1: what separated the big room in the Temple from the
- 17:57Speaker 1: Most Holy Place. God would live behind that veil, and
- 18:01Speaker 1: it was very dangerous to go behind that veil because
- 18:03Speaker 1: that's where God's presence was. The only person allowed in
- 18:08Speaker 1: the Most Holy Place was the High Priest, one man
- 18:13Speaker 1: only on the day of Atonement, where the High Priest
- 18:16Speaker 1: would go into the most Holy Place and basically intercede
- 18:20Speaker 1: for the people of Israel and ask God to forgive
- 18:23Speaker 1: the people of their sins, And that was on the
- 18:25Speaker 1: day of Atonement, and that was the only time the
- 18:27Speaker 1: High Priest was allowed to go inside the Most Holy Place.
- 18:31Speaker 1: But my point is is that the inside of the
- 18:33Speaker 1: temple was absolutely beautiful, and yet no one was allowed
- 18:37Speaker 1: to see it except the priests and the High Priest
- 18:41Speaker 1: and God himself. That was the only people seeing the
- 18:45Speaker 1: beauty on the inside of the temple because the outside
- 18:49Speaker 1: was not nearly as beautiful. I'm sure it was beautiful
- 18:51Speaker 1: in its own sense. I'm sure it was very nice
- 18:54Speaker 1: to look at, but there was a different level of
- 18:57Speaker 1: beauty when you walked into that temple. And there's definitely
- 19:01Speaker 1: an analogy there because think about what the temple is now.
- 19:08Speaker 1: The temple now is you and me, anybody who accepts
- 19:13Speaker 1: the message of Jesus, anybody who accepts the Holy Spirit,
- 19:17Speaker 1: we become the temple of the Holy Spirit. And what
- 19:21Speaker 1: did Jesus always say when he was on the earth.
- 19:24Speaker 1: He was always talking about the heart, the inward person,
- 19:29Speaker 1: how people on the inside need to be beautiful. The
- 19:34Speaker 1: outward appearance does not matter. It is God who looks
- 19:37Speaker 1: at the heart, so the inside that is what is
- 19:41Speaker 1: supposed to be beautiful. And if we are temples of God,
- 19:44Speaker 1: now we are to make our inner person a beautiful
- 19:48Speaker 1: person so that God actually has a comfortable place to live,
- 19:54Speaker 1: just as Solomon was making this temple try to match
- 19:58Speaker 1: God's throne room. In a sense, we're supposed to do
- 20:02Speaker 1: the same thing with our temples as well, And how
- 20:05Speaker 1: do we do that well? First and foremost, we accept
- 20:08Speaker 1: the Holy Spirit. Secondly, we pursue a relationship with the
- 20:12Speaker 1: Holy Spirit, with God himself, with Jesus, by praying, by
- 20:18Speaker 1: reading our Bibles, by studying scripture, by going to church,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and by doing what Jesus said he told his disciples,
- 20:27Speaker 1: if you love me, keep my commandments. And the two
- 20:30Speaker 1: commandments that Jesus gave us was to love God first.
- 20:35Speaker 1: That is the greatest and most important commandment, and the
- 20:39Speaker 1: second is to love your neighbor as yourself. That is
- 20:44Speaker 1: how we make our temples beautiful to God by loving
- 20:49Speaker 1: God first and foremost out of everything else in our lives.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Loving God first, and secondly by loving the people around us.
- 21:08Speaker 1: So faithful, listener, we will talk more about the building
- 21:10Speaker 1: of the temple on Monday, and tomorrow we are starting
- 21:13Speaker 1: a new book of the Bible in the New Testament.
- 21:16Speaker 1: We are starting the Book of Seconds Pessalonians. And I'm
- 21:19Speaker 1: very excited to talk about that book because already you know,
- 21:22Speaker 1: reading threw the first chapter or Second Pessalonians, it is
- 21:25Speaker 1: so good. So yes, tomorrow we will be in the
- 21:28Speaker 1: New Testament discussing a brand new book of the Bible,
- 21:32Speaker 1: and I'm very excited to talk about it, and I
- 21:34Speaker 1: hope to see you guys that six am or whenever
- 21:37Speaker 1: you choose to wake up and listen until tomorrow, Happy listening,
- 21:41Speaker 1: and God bless
