- 0:00Speaker 1: On the $ 5, 000 check, when did you first come up
- 0:02Speaker 1: with that idea and how exactly are we going to
- 0:04Speaker 1: do it?
- 0:05Speaker 2: And that's going forward.
- 0:06Speaker 1: The $ 5, 000 check is going forward. And that's because we're
- 0:10Speaker 1: taking in so much money in so different.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Ways, including the tariffs. The $ 5, 000 is going to happen 100%.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And the reason is because our country is taking.
- 0:19Speaker 1: In trillions and trillions of dollars.
- 0:22Speaker 3: And it's going to happen because the people deserve it
- 0:24Speaker 3: because they were treated so badly by the Democrats and
- 0:27Speaker 3: by Biden. You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with
- 0:31Speaker 3: Ben Ferguson.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Good Tuesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:34Speaker 2: the 47 Morning Update. And we've got a major in-depth
- 0:37Speaker 2: story for you, and it deals with AI data centers
- 0:40Speaker 2: in America. President Trump going all in, calling those that
- 0:44Speaker 2: are attacking AI nothing but those that are trying to
- 0:48Speaker 2: push a hoax on America so that China wins and
- 0:51Speaker 2: controls AI. Yeah, we're talking about the communists. So what
- 0:55Speaker 2: is behind this sick conspiracy? That is the president's words.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I'm going to break it all down for you in
- 1:01Speaker 2: just a moment. Before we get to that, though, the
- 1:04Speaker 2: midterm elections are heating up. Congressional control and President Trump's agenda,
- 1:09Speaker 2: they hang in the balance. Every headline has the potential
- 1:12Speaker 2: to shift those odds. And on CalSheet, you can trade
- 1:15Speaker 2: major primaries, election outcomes, and the biggest political storylines as
- 1:21Speaker 2: they happen. Now, you can look at the races right
- 1:25Speaker 2: now on CalSheet, and it is so much fun to
- 1:27Speaker 2: see what is up there. For example, you can take
- 1:29Speaker 2: a look at the mayor's race in LA. You remember
- 1:32Speaker 2: Karen Bass? Well, she's favored right now in that one.
- 1:35Speaker 2: You can also take a look at the major elections,
- 1:38Speaker 2: the Senate races right now. or even the overall congressional
- 1:42Speaker 2: balance of power. All of it is up right now
- 1:46Speaker 2: on CalSheet. Now, take a look at one other race
- 1:49Speaker 2: that everyone's been talking about. Will Kim Paxton defeat Tallarico
- 1:54Speaker 2: in Texas? Right now, Paxton is currently trading at 50%.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Making a $ 100 trade would pay out $ 93 if he
- 1:59Speaker 2: beats Tallarico. Now on CalSheet, you're trading against peers in
- 2:06Speaker 2: a live market, meaning there's no house. And as the
- 2:10Speaker 2: probability changes, you can buy in and out of your options.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So download the CalSheet app and use the code BEN
- 2:17Speaker 2: to get $ 20 when you trade $ 20. Kalshi, K-A-L-S-H-I, Kalshi,
- 2:24Speaker 2: trade on anything.
- 2:25Speaker 1: 18 plus only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Event contract
- 2:29Speaker 1: trading involves risk and may not be suitable for all investors.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Kalshi products are not available in all jurisdictions. Prices, values,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and available markets may differ from those mentioned. For more information,
- 2:38Speaker 1: see Kalshi.com slash regulatory.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It's the 47 Morning Update, and it starts right now.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Story number one. We are in a war right now,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and it is not a traditional war the way that
- 2:49Speaker 2: we see with Ukraine and Russia or even America and Iran.
- 2:54Speaker 2: We are talking about a technological war with communist China. Now,
- 2:59Speaker 2: it's not going to happen 10 years from now, not someday.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It is happening right now. And it's a war over
- 3:06Speaker 2: artificial intelligence. It's literally a war over microchips. It's a
- 3:10Speaker 2: war over data centers. And it's also a war over electricity.
- 3:16Speaker 2: And also, really, it's a war over computing power and
- 3:20Speaker 2: who controls what comes out of all of the things
- 3:24Speaker 2: that I just listed. Now, this is a war about
- 3:28Speaker 2: the future and how people perceive this country, also China,
- 3:33Speaker 2: and the rest of the world. It's the most important
- 3:36Speaker 2: technology of the 21st century. And yeah, we're talking about AI. Now,
- 3:41Speaker 2: Donald Trump understands exactly what's happening right now. And he's
- 3:46Speaker 2: furious about the growing movement to put the brakes on
- 3:49Speaker 2: American artificial intelligence. Donald Trump lashed out on Monday, as
- 3:54Speaker 2: he should, at what he called a sick conspiracy against
- 3:58Speaker 2: AI data and data centers. And then he gave America
- 4:02Speaker 2: the line that should define this entire debate. Whoever wins AI.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Donald Trump is right. This is the new arms race,
- 4:13Speaker 2: except instead of counting nuclear missiles, you're counting GPUs. Instead
- 4:18Speaker 2: of asking who has more aircraft carriers, we're asking who
- 4:22Speaker 2: has more computing power. Who has the best chips? Who
- 4:26Speaker 2: has the biggest data centers? And who has enough electricity
- 4:30Speaker 2: to power them? Who also has the best models? Who
- 4:34Speaker 2: has the best scientists? And who has the guts to
- 4:37Speaker 2: keep building instead of stopping? Because here's what absolutely drives
- 4:42Speaker 2: me crazy about this debate. China wants desperately to beat us.
- 4:48Speaker 2: China understands that AI dominance means economic dominance as well.
- 4:53Speaker 2: It means military advantages. It means intelligence advantages. It means
- 4:59Speaker 2: cyber advantages. It means robotics, manufacturing, medicine, weapon systems, even
- 5:07Speaker 2: outer space, finance. Scientific discovery, you name it. And China
- 5:13Speaker 2: understands this better than all of us in America right now.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And that is the reason why Donald Trump keeps sounding
- 5:21Speaker 2: the alarm. Now, there's a lot of people saying in
- 5:23Speaker 2: the U.S. maybe we should be slowing down. In fact,
- 5:26Speaker 2: many states have already slammed on the brakes to AI
- 5:29Speaker 2: data centers. And my response is, are you kidding me?
- 5:34Speaker 2: Imagine saying that during the space race. Hey, the Soviets
- 5:37Speaker 2: are trying to get to the moon. Maybe America should,
- 5:39Speaker 2: you know, slow down. Imagine saying it during the nuclear
- 5:43Speaker 2: arms race. Maybe we shouldn't develop this technology so quickly.
- 5:46Speaker 2: That would be insane. You don't win a race by
- 5:49Speaker 2: stopping to make your opponent feel comfortable. And here's where
- 5:53Speaker 2: this story gets even more disturbing. We now have documented
- 5:57Speaker 2: evidence that China-linked actors have attempted to manipulate the American
- 6:02Speaker 2: conversation surrounding artificial intelligence and data centers specifically. OpenAI disclosed
- 6:09Speaker 2: a China-linked influence operation it called Data Center Bandwagon. That's
- 6:14Speaker 2: the exact name. Now, the accounts likely originating in China...
- 6:18Speaker 2: were then using, this isn't a joke, artificial intelligence to
- 6:22Speaker 2: create English language social media content, criticizing American AI infrastructure.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Some prompts were written in simplified Chinese, but the content
- 6:33Speaker 2: was designed to look American. Now, think about how unbelievable
- 6:37Speaker 2: that is. China-linked operators were using American AI to create
- 6:43Speaker 2: propaganda attacking American AI infrastructure. Now, what were they saying
- 6:49Speaker 2: in this propaganda and why was it so effective? Let
- 6:52Speaker 2: me just go through some of the highlights for you
- 6:54Speaker 2: so you understand. First off, they were telling Americans that
- 6:57Speaker 2: your electricity bills are going to go up drastically and
- 7:00Speaker 2: that if your electricity bill has gone up in the
- 7:02Speaker 2: last several years, it's all because of AI data centers.
- 7:06Speaker 2: By the way, the majority of Americans do not live
- 7:08Speaker 2: anywhere close to an AI data center. They also wanted
- 7:12Speaker 2: you to understand this, that big tech is getting rich
- 7:15Speaker 2: and they're doing it off the backs of you and
- 7:17Speaker 2: your grid. They then would tell you that the data
- 7:20Speaker 2: centers are destroying your communities. And then they would say
- 7:22Speaker 2: your electrical grid is going to go down so you
- 7:25Speaker 2: won't have electricity. Now, take every legitimate concern surrounding this
- 7:29Speaker 2: technology and then pour gasoline on it. And that is
- 7:32Speaker 2: how modern information warfare works. And China was using AI
- 7:37Speaker 2: to do exactly that. You don't have to necessarily invent
- 7:41Speaker 2: the disagreement. You just find an existing disagreement and make
- 7:44Speaker 2: Americans angrier at one another over it. Now, I want
- 7:47Speaker 2: to be crystal clear about this. If you don't want
- 7:50Speaker 2: a giant data center next to your house, that doesn't
- 7:53Speaker 2: make you, by the way, a Chinese agent. If you're
- 7:56Speaker 2: concerned about your electricity bill, you're not working for Beijing.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Americans should absolutely demand transparency about electricity prices, as well
- 8:05Speaker 2: as water usage, or as well as tax incentives, as
- 8:08Speaker 2: well as infrastructure questions. That, by the way, is called democracy.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But when a foreign adversary, China, secretly inserts itself into
- 8:18Speaker 2: that conversation while pretending to be Americans, and that's what
- 8:21Speaker 2: they did, that's something entirely different. And then X also
- 8:26Speaker 2: came out and uncovered something else. And another enormous suspected
- 8:31Speaker 2: Chinese bot operation involving more than 200,000 different accounts online.
- 8:38Speaker 2: A smaller group of those accounts were posting content capable
- 8:41Speaker 2: of manipulating the American debate over AI infrastructure and energy.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So now you've got to ask yourself this question. Why
- 8:49Speaker 2: does China care what Americans think about American data centers? Like, seriously, why? Well,
- 8:56Speaker 2: let me answer that question. Because China understands the equation.
- 9:00Speaker 2: No electricity means no data centers. No data center means
- 9:05Speaker 2: fewer chips. Fewer chips means less computing power. And less
- 9:10Speaker 2: computing power means slower AI. And slower American AI means
- 9:15Speaker 2: one thing. China wins. Yeah, that's what it means. And
- 9:20Speaker 2: if you want proof of just how enormous the economic
- 9:23Speaker 2: consequences of slowing AI could be, just look at what
- 9:26Speaker 2: happened in the stock market yesterday. The Wall Street Journal
- 9:31Speaker 2: says AI chip stocks got absolutely hammered. NVIDIA fell 3.4%.
- 9:38Speaker 2: This is the video we're talking about, one of the
- 9:40Speaker 2: most important companies in the world. The company manufacturing the
- 9:44Speaker 2: chips had become the backbone of AI and the revolution. Marvel, Intel, Micron,
- 9:50Speaker 2: and SanDisk were also down around 6%. Broadcom fell roughly 4.5%.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And this wasn't just happening in America. ASML fell roughly 6%.
- 10:03Speaker 2: ASM International around 10%. And BE, semiconductor, more than 8%.
- 10:09Speaker 2: South Korea's SK Hynix dropped 6.4%. Samsung, a brand we
- 10:15Speaker 2: all know, fell more than 4%. Japan's Kioxia dropped more
- 10:20Speaker 2: than 6%. SoftBank, one of OpenAI's biggest investors, also got crushed,
- 10:27Speaker 2: falling roughly 11%. And here's one of the most revealing
- 10:31Speaker 2: numbers of all. Seidman's energy fell more than 8%. Now,
- 10:36Speaker 2: why does an energy equipment company get hammered? Because people
- 10:40Speaker 2: are talking about slowing artificial intelligence. That's the question we
- 10:44Speaker 2: all should ask. I'll explain it because AI isn't just
- 10:48Speaker 2: about software anymore. AI is an industrial revolution. You want
- 10:52Speaker 2: artificial intelligence, then you need chips. And if you want chips,
- 10:57Speaker 2: you need semiconductor factories. You want to operate millions of chips?
- 11:02Speaker 2: Then you need data centers. And if you want data centers,
- 11:06Speaker 2: you need enormous amounts of electricity. You need natural gas.
- 11:10Speaker 2: You need nuclear power. You need turbines. You need transmission.
- 11:14Speaker 2: You need cooling. You need construction. You also need things
- 11:18Speaker 2: like steel. Then you need electricians. Yeah, that would be
- 11:22Speaker 2: human beings and engineers. And you need American workers. Now,
- 11:26Speaker 2: this isn't some Silicon Valley toy, right? This could become
- 11:30Speaker 2: one of the biggest industrial buildouts America has seen in generations,
- 11:35Speaker 2: certainly since World War II. And we're seriously discussing whether
- 11:39Speaker 2: we should voluntarily slam on the brakes? I would say no.
- 11:44Speaker 2: You need to build the damn data centers. You need
- 11:46Speaker 2: to build the power plants. You need to build the
- 11:48Speaker 2: semiconductor fabrications. You need to build the transmission. You need
- 11:53Speaker 2: to build the nuclear reactors. You need to produce more
- 11:56Speaker 2: natural gas. You need to train all these engineers, train
- 11:59Speaker 2: the electricians, train the welders. And then ultimately, what are
- 12:03Speaker 2: we trying to do? Build an infrastructure. This is what
- 12:07Speaker 2: you need to make America the undisputed AI superpower of
- 12:11Speaker 2: the world. Because I can tell you who isn't going
- 12:15Speaker 2: to apologize for building their infrastructure, and that is communist China. Beijing,
- 12:22Speaker 2: they're not debating this. They're not sitting around saying, we'd
- 12:26Speaker 2: really like to dominate artificial intelligence, but we're worried somebody
- 12:30Speaker 2: might complain at the zoning meeting. That's not how things
- 12:33Speaker 2: work in China. They're building infrastructure. And they're investing, and
- 12:37Speaker 2: they're planning, and they're stealing technology when they can get
- 12:40Speaker 2: away with it. And they're recruiting the scientists, and they're
- 12:43Speaker 2: developing the chips, and they're building energy infrastructure, and they're
- 12:46Speaker 2: trying to become technologically independent from the United States of America. Meanwhile,
- 12:52Speaker 2: in America, well, we're all sitting here and we're saying, no, no, no,
- 12:56Speaker 2: let's have a conversation. And I'm fine with that. But
- 12:59Speaker 2: why would we tie our hands behind our own backs
- 13:02Speaker 2: and let China win? Now, today's stock market reaction gives
- 13:06Speaker 2: you a glimpse of what happens when you slow down.
- 13:09Speaker 2: The Wall Street Journal, by the way, reports that investors
- 13:12Speaker 2: immediately started pricing in. The real possibility that slowing advanced
- 13:18Speaker 2: AI development in America could eventually slow the enormous capital
- 13:21Speaker 2: spending boom surrounding artificial intelligence. Now, the logic here, by
- 13:26Speaker 2: the way, is not complicated. Slower AI development, that means
- 13:30Speaker 2: potentially fewer data centers and fewer memory chips are needed.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Then you need less semiconductor equipment. Then you need less
- 13:37Speaker 2: electricity infrastructure. Then you need less construction, meaning you need
- 13:40Speaker 2: less American jobs, which means you have less investment. Now,
- 13:46Speaker 2: you step back and you look at this. This would
- 13:48Speaker 2: mean American workers get hurt. And worse than that, you
- 13:52Speaker 2: have less American technological power than we otherwise would have
- 13:56Speaker 2: had before. Now, one analyst described today's market reaction as, quote,
- 14:01Speaker 2: just a small taste of what the end of the
- 14:05Speaker 2: AI spending boom could look like. A small taste. That's
- 14:09Speaker 2: their quote. And here's the point everybody needs to understand.
- 14:13Speaker 2: China doesn't necessarily have to beat America. America can beat itself.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And that's the biggest danger here. China doesn't have to
- 14:21Speaker 2: invest or invent a better chip tomorrow if Americans make
- 14:26Speaker 2: it impossible to build the facilities that use our chips
- 14:29Speaker 2: right now. China, by the way, doesn't have to destroy
- 14:32Speaker 2: NVIDIA if American politicians regulate its customers into paralysis. China
- 14:38Speaker 2: doesn't have to shut down our data centers if America
- 14:42Speaker 2: shuts down our data centers ourselves. You get the theme here, right?
- 14:46Speaker 2: China doesn't have to defeat America energy infrastructure if we
- 14:50Speaker 2: refuse to build enough energy for us to win or
- 14:53Speaker 2: even compete. In essence, all Beijing really has to do
- 14:57Speaker 2: is keep moving while America stops moving. And that's why
- 15:01Speaker 2: this debate matters. Now, I'm unapologetically pro-American AI because I
- 15:07Speaker 2: know what happens if China wins. They control AI. They
- 15:11Speaker 2: control how our kids use it. They control what data
- 15:15Speaker 2: comes out. They control everything. I want the world's best
- 15:19Speaker 2: artificial intelligence developed in the United States of America. And
- 15:22Speaker 2: I want American companies leading it. I want American workers
- 15:26Speaker 2: building it. I want American universities producing the scientists. I
- 15:30Speaker 2: want American semiconductor companies making those chips. And I want
- 15:33Speaker 2: American energy producing Powering these data centers. And I want
- 15:38Speaker 2: American values involved in all of it. Not Chinese Communist
- 15:42Speaker 2: Party values. Shaping the technological architecture the rest of the
- 15:47Speaker 2: world literally will be using 24-7. That's what I don't want.
- 15:53Speaker 2: So what is China doing now? Well, they're saying we
- 15:56Speaker 2: just need America to slow down so that we can
- 15:59Speaker 2: dominate AI. And that's the part the slowdown crowd never, well,
- 16:04Speaker 2: understands or has to adequately answer the question. Look, let's
- 16:09Speaker 2: be clear. China isn't shutting down its research laboratories because
- 16:14Speaker 2: we decide advanced AI is, well, you know, quote unquote,
- 16:17Speaker 2: too dangerous. The technology is here. It's going to be here.
- 16:21Speaker 2: The race, and this is a AI arms race, has
- 16:24Speaker 2: already started. It will not end. America, we have basically
- 16:29Speaker 2: two choices. We either lead on AI or we surrender AI. Now,
- 16:36Speaker 2: should we have safeguards? Yes. Should companies be accountable if
- 16:39Speaker 2: they break American law? Of course. And should communities make
- 16:43Speaker 2: sure a trillion-dollar technology company isn't forcing grandma's electricity bill
- 16:48Speaker 2: through the roof? Absolutely. Should companies pay their fair share
- 16:53Speaker 2: for infrastructure? Yes. And should we protect America's electrical grid
- 16:57Speaker 2: that's already, by the way, gotten way too old and
- 17:00Speaker 2: is way too vulnerable? Of course. But there's enormous difference
- 17:04Speaker 2: between smart rules and strangling an American industry before we've
- 17:10Speaker 2: even won the race. And here's another part of this
- 17:13Speaker 2: that drives me also crazy. There are a lot of
- 17:16Speaker 2: people talking about data centers as though they're just giant
- 17:18Speaker 2: warehouses making billionaires richer. That couldn't be further from the truth.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Those buildings are becoming part of America's national security infrastructure
- 17:28Speaker 2: right now. 20 years ago, people talked about oil refineries
- 17:32Speaker 2: and pipelines as, quote, strategic infrastructure. Today, computing capabilities and capacity,
- 17:38Speaker 2: that belongs in the same conversation. Because being able to
- 17:42Speaker 2: compute is literally power. And the country controlling the most
- 17:46Speaker 2: advanced computing power is going to possess advantages that we,
- 17:50Speaker 2: by the way, as human beings, may not fully understand yet.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Imagine AI accelerating the development of new weapons or new
- 17:57Speaker 2: medicines or new cures for diseases, new materials, maybe even
- 18:02Speaker 2: cyber defenses, cyber attacks, drone technology, autonomous military systems, intelligence analysis,
- 18:10Speaker 2: satellite technology, nuclear research. Now answer me one question. Do
- 18:15Speaker 2: you want those breakthroughs happening first in Houston or Austin
- 18:19Speaker 2: or Silicon Valley or Phoenix or Pittsburgh or New York?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Or do you want that happening in Beijing or Shanghai?
- 18:26Speaker 2: I know the answer for me is I want it
- 18:28Speaker 2: happening in America every time. And that's why the China-linked
- 18:32Speaker 2: influence operation should be a giant flashing red warning. I'm
- 18:38Speaker 2: not saying China created American opposition to AI. It didn't.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm not saying every AI critic is somehow helping communist China.
- 18:45Speaker 2: They're not. I'm saying China has an obvious strategic interest.
- 18:50Speaker 2: in exploiting our nervousness, our divisions, and making sure that
- 18:55Speaker 2: America slows down. That is what they're trying to do
- 18:59Speaker 2: with their bots and their misinformation campaigns. And we have
- 19:03Speaker 2: the evidence that these China-linked actors have already started to
- 19:07Speaker 2: do exactly that in online debates surrounding American AI infrastructure.
- 19:12Speaker 2: So when you see anonymous accounts suddenly telling you that
- 19:15Speaker 2: building the infrastructure necessary for AI dominance is some terrible
- 19:19Speaker 2: national catastrophe, you have every right to ask this question.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Number one, who's behind that account or that opinion? I'm
- 19:27Speaker 2: going to say that again. Who's behind it? Then the
- 19:30Speaker 2: second question should be, okay, who's amplifying it? And who
- 19:35Speaker 2: benefits if America stops buildings? Because I'll tell you one
- 19:39Speaker 2: country that benefits enormously more than any other country out there,
- 19:42Speaker 2: that is literally communist China. So this is an AI
- 19:46Speaker 2: Cold War. And we better start treating it that way.
- 19:49Speaker 2: We've spent decades making the mistake of becoming dependent on
- 19:53Speaker 2: China for manufacturing. And we know how that ended during COVID.
- 19:57Speaker 2: We watched American factories leave, shut down. We watched supply
- 20:01Speaker 2: chains move overseas. And we know what happened again during COVID.
- 20:05Speaker 2: We watched China dominate industries that America once led, where
- 20:10Speaker 2: now we don't even know how to do it anymore.
- 20:12Speaker 2: We can't make that same mistake with AI. America, it's
- 20:16Speaker 2: time that not only we invest in technology to drive
- 20:20Speaker 2: this revolution, but we have to make sure it stays
- 20:23Speaker 2: in America. We got to make sure American engineers are
- 20:26Speaker 2: designing those chips, that American investors are the ones that
- 20:29Speaker 2: are investing in these jobs. We have to make sure
- 20:33Speaker 2: we unleash American energy to protect this infrastructure. We got
- 20:37Speaker 2: to build the data centers. We got to build the chips.
- 20:40Speaker 2: We got to build the grid. We got to build
- 20:42Speaker 2: all of it. Because while we're having this debate, China
- 20:45Speaker 2: is already moving forward. Let's also be clear. America invented
- 20:51Speaker 2: AI and China is now trying to win it. And
- 20:54Speaker 2: Donald Trump, by the way, his warning couldn't be clearer.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Whoever wins AI wins. He's right. China knows it. Wall
- 21:03Speaker 2: Street knows it. Silicon Valley knows it. And America better
- 21:07Speaker 2: figure it out very quickly because there is no trophy
