- 0:02Speaker 1: From Houston and across the great state of Texas, this is....
- 0:12Speaker 2: Mean anything at all no it's crazy welcome to the thunderdome.
- 0:16Speaker 1: People news opinions politics and the stories that matter to.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Texans i shaved for this.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Here are your hosts craig collins and wayne dolcefino.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Remember everyone just don't be yourselves.
- 0:29Speaker 1: On ksev am 700 the voice of texas yes that's awesome.
- 0:41Speaker 3: And now, Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Thank you, Dana.
- 0:45Speaker 6: This is the Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino morning show
- 0:49Speaker 6: on KSEV. I think we actually call it KSEV mornings
- 0:53Speaker 6: with Craig and Wayne. Wayne is on special assignment today,
- 0:56Speaker 6: so he is not available. He will be here tomorrow, though,
- 1:00Speaker 6: although he will be on via some connections from afar
- 1:04Speaker 6: kind of thing. He'll be connected to the show in
- 1:07Speaker 6: kind of an interesting way. And I think it's the
- 1:09Speaker 6: first time we're going to attempt that. So I wish
- 1:11Speaker 6: Jack and I a whole lot of luck as we
- 1:12Speaker 6: attempt to get that done. Let's get to some of
- 1:15Speaker 6: the news things that I think are important today that
- 1:19Speaker 6: I'd like to discuss. First is a reaction to the
- 1:22Speaker 6: latest and craziest thing that James Tallarico said. I talked
- 1:25Speaker 6: about it earlier. We'll probably talk about it a lot today.
- 1:27Speaker 7: Here we go.
- 1:27Speaker 8: This is James Tallarico, but there is stuff coming out
- 1:29Speaker 8: about him as well.
- 1:31Speaker 9: Here he is.
- 1:31Speaker 8: He wants to dismantle capitalism.
- 1:33Speaker 10: Watch.
- 1:33Speaker 8: I saw firsthand the challenges that my students faced. Every
- 1:38Speaker 8: day working in that neighborhood, I quickly realized how so
- 1:42Speaker 8: many oppressive systems from the lack of access to health care,
- 1:46Speaker 8: to climate injustice, to a broken criminal justice system hold
- 1:51Speaker 8: my students back. The more I have done this work
- 1:55Speaker 8: at the Capitol, the more I'm committed to helping to
- 1:58Speaker 8: dismantle unjust systems across our state.
- 2:04Speaker 6: He says dismantle white supremacy, climate change and capitalism.
- 2:08Speaker 4: He did.
- 2:10Speaker 11: I mean, he's memorized a whole bunch of really outdated,
- 2:14Speaker 11: woke talking points, just like his ideas about God having
- 2:18Speaker 11: multiple genders.
- 2:20Speaker 10: Get him, Miranda. Again, not a real person.
- 2:23Speaker 6: And he's, you know, I mean, actually, I want to
- 2:25Speaker 6: stop right there. I kept it for that last part
- 2:28Speaker 6: because I love when she says he's not a real person.
- 2:31Speaker 6: He doesn't exist in Texas. And what I mean by
- 2:34Speaker 6: that is, by and large, the vast majority of people
- 2:36Speaker 6: in this state don't think any of the things he's
- 2:39Speaker 6: saying are things that we would want to, you know,
- 2:43Speaker 6: actually have in a position of power in this state
- 2:46Speaker 6: because none of us believe them. None of us think
- 2:48Speaker 6: these things. It's only the crazy, insane people who predominantly
- 2:51Speaker 6: don't actually live in Texas. Most of those Democratic socialists
- 2:55Speaker 6: are in other places, and they're the ones feeding money
- 2:58Speaker 6: to Tallarico's campaign to try to get him to win
- 3:01Speaker 6: a Senate seat here. They don't live here because Texas
- 3:05Speaker 6: is not really a place that would tolerate a lot
- 3:07Speaker 6: of those opinions. Well, you would not win a lot
- 3:09Speaker 6: of elections if you're someone who wanted those thoughts represented
- 3:12Speaker 6: in although Harris County. And I feel like there are
- 3:16Speaker 6: some other places where we at least have some people
- 3:18Speaker 6: dabbling in the world of democratic socialism. that we need
- 3:21Speaker 6: to make sure to stop. I also want to play this, Tom,
- 3:23Speaker 6: Holman audio that I thought was pretty interesting.
- 3:25Speaker 12: Does Border Patrol do anything to stop these businesses from trafficking,
- 3:31Speaker 12: you know, people in just to have babies?
- 3:33Speaker 13: Well, it's not Border Patrol. It would be Homeland Security Investigation,
- 3:36Speaker 13: the Division of ICE, and President Trump's right. We know
- 3:39Speaker 13: of about 25,000 to 30,000 a year that are occurring.
- 3:43Speaker 13: And it's the misuse of the visa process. Getting a
- 3:45Speaker 13: visa is a privilege coming to this country. And when
- 3:47Speaker 13: you lie and commit fraud saying you're coming here for work,
- 3:50Speaker 13: but you're actually coming here to get birthed, I mean,
- 3:52Speaker 13: that's a violation of the law. But what's most important,
- 3:55Speaker 13: what concerns me the most, is the national security issue.
- 3:58Speaker 13: Because two of the biggest abusers of this process is
- 4:01Speaker 13: Russia and China. So you're going to have hundreds of
- 4:04Speaker 13: thousands of U.S. citizens living in Russia and China that
- 4:06Speaker 13: can come back here and vote, can run for political office,
- 4:09Speaker 13: and can get a government job. So it's a huge,
- 4:12Speaker 13: huge national security issue.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 12: I mean, we've seen reports of young women saying that
- 4:17Speaker 12: they came in just to get the passport and then
- 4:20Speaker 12: they're heading back to China.
- 4:22Speaker 6: It's pretty shocking.
- 4:23Speaker 12: I want to switch gears.
- 4:24Speaker 6: What's your take on this?
- 4:25Speaker 12: Can the Border Patrol do anything to stop?
- 4:28Speaker 6: That real quick is my mouse has now disappeared on
- 4:30Speaker 6: the computer, which is odd for me to get that
- 4:33Speaker 6: to fix. I don't know why we're having so many
- 4:35Speaker 6: gremlins today. There we go. That's better. But this is
- 4:38Speaker 6: another of the big things. that I think should matter
- 4:41Speaker 6: a lot to more people and don't. If you're talking
- 4:44Speaker 6: about birth tourism, specifically in our state, we are seeing
- 4:48Speaker 6: way more of this than you would have assumed we'd
- 4:51Speaker 6: be seeing. I think there's a lot of people who
- 4:54Speaker 6: just wrongfully believe. They're like, ah, that's not actually happening
- 4:58Speaker 6: in Texas. And then you had the report of the
- 5:01Speaker 6: billboards that people are driving past as they're driving into
- 5:05Speaker 6: our state from another country. driving through McAllen or through
- 5:09Speaker 6: the southern parts of the state, and they're seeing literal
- 5:13Speaker 6: advertisements for birth tourism types of behavior. And you're scratching
- 5:17Speaker 6: your head and you're saying to yourself, like, who's going
- 5:19Speaker 6: to fix this? Who's going to get this done? Who's
- 5:21Speaker 6: going to get this to be a thing that can't
- 5:24Speaker 6: happen anymore? And then President Trump makes an attempt. President
- 5:28Speaker 6: Trump goes the road of, I would like to see
- 5:33Speaker 6: a whole lot less of this occur in our country.
- 5:36Speaker 6: And then part of what he attempts to do to
- 5:38Speaker 6: stop it gets spiked down by the Supreme Court, which
- 5:41Speaker 6: was crazy. And Amy Comey Barrett was one of the
- 5:43Speaker 6: big problems there in any sort of attempt to change
- 5:47Speaker 6: a birthright citizenship itself because it never, ever was intended.
- 5:52Speaker 6: I'll say this just clearly, and you should know this
- 5:55Speaker 6: if you've paid any attention at all to this show,
- 5:57Speaker 6: and I'm sure Sal Sato, when he talked about this
- 6:00Speaker 6: topic or just any sort of historical information on it,
- 6:03Speaker 6: because they debated it. Like, here's the funniest thing. I'll
- 6:06Speaker 6: say this about birthright tourism just quickly and not necessarily
- 6:10Speaker 6: intent to do a big, giant topic on it on
- 6:12Speaker 6: the show today. But the funniest part to me is
- 6:15Speaker 6: they debated this back when they wrote the bill. This
- 6:18Speaker 6: is real. They actually debated whether or not it made
- 6:21Speaker 6: sense for people to just be able to to walk
- 6:24Speaker 6: into our country, pop out a child and have that
- 6:27Speaker 6: child be someone who had U.S. citizenship. And the biggest
- 6:31Speaker 6: argument being made by the people who fought the bill
- 6:34Speaker 6: when it was first passed. over 100 years ago were
- 6:38Speaker 6: saying that they thought that would be a problem and
- 6:41Speaker 6: that would be wrong. And the big political win then
- 6:44Speaker 6: was it wasn't going to happen very much. It was
- 6:47Speaker 6: a real thing. People were like, ah, how could that happen?
- 6:50Speaker 6: And now all these years later, you see how technology
- 6:52Speaker 6: has advanced beyond the ability that people could have projected
- 6:56Speaker 6: a certain number of years ago. And you say to yourself,
- 7:00Speaker 6: of course, this is not the design of this bill
- 7:03Speaker 6: to allow people to just fly on a plane and
- 7:06Speaker 6: At eight and a half months pregnant, pop out a
- 7:08Speaker 6: kid that has U.S. citizenship and then fly back. Like,
- 7:10Speaker 6: of course, that's not the intention of birthright citizenship in
- 7:13Speaker 6: this country. It was actually very much to respond to slaves,
- 7:18Speaker 6: children and slaves themselves who wanted to be thought of
- 7:21Speaker 6: as citizens and deserve to be thought of as citizens.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And an easier conduit to that than anything else. If
- 7:27Speaker 6: you were born here in the United States, you got citizenship.
- 7:31Speaker 6: It should have been like up until a certain point.
- 7:35Speaker 6: They shouldn't have passed it forever. They should have said, like,
- 7:37Speaker 6: we get another 30 years from right now where anybody
- 7:40Speaker 6: born here is a citizen and then we're going to
- 7:43Speaker 6: cap it. But again, they couldn't have projected the world
- 7:46Speaker 6: we live in now and the ability for someone to
- 7:48Speaker 6: easily come here and have a child. So what did
- 7:50Speaker 6: Trump do? He tried to get rid of it. And
- 7:52Speaker 6: the biggest part to me of that conversation that people
- 7:56Speaker 6: seem to not understand at all, or at least as
- 7:59Speaker 6: much as they really should understand it, when Trump tries
- 8:04Speaker 6: to get rid of the citizenship, is that most other
- 8:06Speaker 6: countries don't have this in Europe. A few other countries
- 8:10Speaker 6: on this side of the pond do, but most of
- 8:12Speaker 6: the places that you'd want to live do not allow
- 8:14Speaker 6: you to have citizenship just by being born somewhere. It's
- 8:18Speaker 6: actually quite a bit more difficult than that. Why is that?
- 8:21Speaker 6: Why do you think that exists? And, of course, the
- 8:23Speaker 6: reason is because if they had what we had, they'd
- 8:26Speaker 6: have the problem we have, and we don't have a
- 8:29Speaker 6: better way to address it.
- 8:30Speaker 11: So.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Hopefully in the future we can get some things changed
- 8:34Speaker 6: and find more ways to circumvent this. But right now
- 8:37Speaker 6: the best fight we have is what Tom Holman is doing.
- 8:39Speaker 6: The best avenue to preventing people from continuing to pay
- 8:42Speaker 6: money and pop out kids here in the United States
- 8:45Speaker 6: that they then hop on a plane and fly back
- 8:47Speaker 6: to wherever they're from. Mostly this is happening a lot
- 8:50Speaker 6: with people from China. The best way to fight that
- 8:53Speaker 6: is to tell Holman and Homeland Security to do their
- 8:56Speaker 6: job because unfortunately the Supreme Court chose not to do
- 8:59Speaker 6: its job. when President Trump tried to make this whole
- 9:02Speaker 6: thing harder. But I'll say one last part about this
- 9:07Speaker 6: as I rant on this topic. I do think inevitably,
- 9:10Speaker 6: at some point in the future, it will go away
- 9:13Speaker 6: because it's an unsustainable philosophy here in the United States.
- 9:19Speaker 6: It's not going to work forever. It's not working now.
- 9:23Speaker 6: At some point, more of the people who fight this,
- 9:25Speaker 6: I believe, will inevitably agree with it. I just hate
- 9:28Speaker 6: the fact that it'll take however much longer for us
- 9:31Speaker 6: to get there, where birthright citizenship won't be a thing
- 9:34Speaker 6: anymore in this country, because it's only damaging the country
- 9:38Speaker 6: more until we get to that point. But it'll happen eventually,
- 9:41Speaker 6: hopefully in my lifetime. All right, quick break. There's a
- 9:44Speaker 6: lot to talk about and a lot to discuss. I
- 9:46Speaker 6: thought there was a really interesting hearing that happened yesterday
- 9:49Speaker 6: that you probably didn't pay much attention to.
- 9:53Speaker 1: A father.
- 9:56Speaker 6: A person who was a victim of an illegal alien
- 9:58Speaker 6: commercial truck driver. testified in front of Congress and absolutely
- 10:03Speaker 6: flamed Democrats for what they deny of that situation. We'll
- 10:07Speaker 6: play that audio and more in just a bit. This
- 10:09Speaker 6: is the KSEV Morning Show. My name is Craig Collins.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Not filling in. I'm one of the two hosts every
- 10:15Speaker 6: day of this show. Craig Collins and Wayne Dolcefino on
- 10:18Speaker 6: 700 AM, The Voice of Texas.
- 10:29Speaker 10: There is only one Chris X Radio.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Today at 4. Right here on The Voice of Texas.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Hello, friends. Let's be honest. Every business says they're better,
- 10:41Speaker 5: but the ones that earn the prestigious BBB seal back
- 10:45Speaker 5: it up. That's why it's the sign of a better business.
- 10:48Speaker 5: And it instantly identifies reputable businesses you can trust. So
- 10:53Speaker 5: look for the BBB seal because it's looking out for you.
- 10:56Speaker 5: It's the sign of a better business. And find a
- 10:59Speaker 5: better business anytime at BBB.org. That's BBB.org.
- 11:06Speaker 14: Shopping insurance? Contact Joe Wardell. He's an independent agent, and
- 11:10Speaker 14: he can look at what you have, shop, and see.
- 11:12Speaker 14: His number, 281-944-9025. Joe Wardell, 281-944-9025.
- 11:22Speaker 7: Balancing your work, family, and health is a lot to manage.
- 11:26Speaker 7: Houston Methodist has a lot to offer. Convenient primary care checkups,
- 11:30Speaker 7: personalized orthopedics to keep you moving, and experts in specialties
- 11:35Speaker 7: like cardiology, neurology, and GI, all in one manageable system,
- 11:40Speaker 7: so you can stay healthy and strong. That's the difference
- 11:44Speaker 7: between practicing medicine and leading it for you. Houston Methodist,
- 11:49Speaker 7: leading medicine.
- 12:02Speaker 6: KSV mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Del Trofino
- 12:06Speaker 6: is on Special Assignment. We are your new hosts. This
- 12:09Speaker 6: is week two of this show. Very, very happy to
- 12:12Speaker 6: be here. If you're going to call in and be
- 12:13Speaker 6: a part of the show, please tell me if you've
- 12:15Speaker 6: ever talked to this show before, to me and Wayne
- 12:18Speaker 6: or just to myself, to Wayne and I, because I'd
- 12:22Speaker 6: like to know. I'd like to know who's a first-time
- 12:24Speaker 6: caller to the new show. Obviously, I'm going to assume
- 12:26Speaker 6: most of you are not first-time callers to KSCV. because
- 12:30Speaker 6: of how long I think callers have been a huge
- 12:33Speaker 6: part of the relationship here at this station. But please,
- 12:36Speaker 6: call in, be a part of the morning show today
- 12:39Speaker 6: on any topic, the topic I'm talking about or anything else, 281-558-5738, 281-558-5738.
- 12:47Speaker 6: I want to play some audio from testimony that happened
- 12:50Speaker 6: yesterday that I thought was incredibly powerful. This was a
- 12:55Speaker 6: lot of places. It was fairly viral. The father, his
- 12:58Speaker 6: name is Marcus Coleman. was incredibly upset with Democrats after
- 13:02Speaker 6: an illegal alien truck driver plowed into him and his family,
- 13:06Speaker 6: leaving his five-year-old daughter permanently disabled. Of course, he has
- 13:10Speaker 6: every right to be upset, by the way, about the
- 13:13Speaker 6: policies that allow for something as horrible as this to occur.
- 13:17Speaker 6: But here's the thing that matters more than just the
- 13:21Speaker 6: simple fact that this is a truth and that if
- 13:24Speaker 6: you're a Democrat, you might think that Republicans had to
- 13:26Speaker 6: go looking for someone to say the thing out loud
- 13:29Speaker 6: that they believe. What matters more is hearing his voice
- 13:33Speaker 6: and hearing him talk about it. And a lot of
- 13:36Speaker 6: media will ignore this because they don't like the way
- 13:39Speaker 6: it reinforces the narrative. They don't like it at all.
- 13:43Speaker 6: So they'll be very, very upset with that, and they'll
- 13:46Speaker 6: do whatever they can to attack it. But here, let's
- 13:49Speaker 6: play part of this audio right now. This is, again,
- 13:52Speaker 6: testimony in front of Congress by a Mr. Coleman, Marcus Coleman,
- 13:57Speaker 6: whose family was hurt, and his daughter, five years old,
- 14:00Speaker 6: permanently disabled because an illegal alien was driving a truck
- 14:04Speaker 6: that they shouldn't have been driving in a country they
- 14:06Speaker 6: shouldn't have been in. Let's actually make sure that this
- 14:09Speaker 6: audio plays, and.
- 14:10Speaker 10: There we go. Right here.
- 14:12Speaker 15: How are you guys not fighting for this? I reject
- 14:17Speaker 15: your guys' sympathy, to be honest with you. There's no
- 14:20Speaker 15: way you guys are sorry. Not one of you guys
- 14:22Speaker 15: have ever called me. Not one of you guys have
- 14:24Speaker 15: ever reached out to me. Not one of you guys
- 14:26Speaker 15: have ever sat there and seen me in the hallways
- 14:27Speaker 15: and said, hey, sorry about your daughter. You guys do
- 14:30Speaker 15: it right here while you guys are grandstanding on top
- 14:31Speaker 15: of your soapbox. This is when you guys care. Right
- 14:35Speaker 15: here inside this room is the only time you guys care.
- 14:37Speaker 15: I've never received anything from anybody over here at all
- 14:41Speaker 15: regarding my daughter or my family or anything.
- 14:44Speaker 10: Hey, Mr.
- 14:44Speaker 15: Coleman, your guys' Delilah Law, I want to help you
- 14:47Speaker 15: revise it so that we're interested inside of it.
- 14:50Speaker 10: Nothing.
- 14:51Speaker 15: You guys have no pathway to anything. You guys want
- 14:54Speaker 15: to sit there and talk about the pathway to citizenship.
- 14:56Speaker 10: There is a pathway.
- 14:57Speaker 15: It's not jump the fence and apply. That's not the
- 14:59Speaker 15: way it goes. There's a process to get it done.
- 15:02Speaker 15: You don't just do that. I can't just go over
- 15:05Speaker 15: there and go sit down inside one of those seats
- 15:06Speaker 15: and become a Democrat.
- 15:07Speaker 10: Oh, you know what? I probably could. I honestly probably could.
- 15:10Speaker 10: So I'm not even going to say that.
- 15:12Speaker 6: That's great.
- 15:13Speaker 15: But I can't go inside a hospital and become a
- 15:15Speaker 15: doctor just because I want to and go put on
- 15:17Speaker 15: a coat and come to work.
- 15:19Speaker 10: It's getting ridiculous the way things are going now.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Amen.
- 15:22Speaker 10: It honestly is. It makes no sense at all.
- 15:25Speaker 15: Sanctuary cities allow so much to be done that it's
- 15:29Speaker 15: almost like the parents not there to take care of
- 15:31Speaker 15: the household.
- 15:33Speaker 10: And everybody's running around and doing what they want to do.
- 15:35Speaker 10: And it sucks.
- 15:37Speaker 15: It honestly does. You guys sit there and you guys
- 15:39Speaker 15: talk about ICE invading cities and doing this and doing that.
- 15:42Speaker 15: I agree with Mr.
- 15:42Speaker 10: Gordon. Jordan, sorry. That if you guys, if the state
- 15:48Speaker 10: sat there and told.
- 15:49Speaker 15: Them come pick up the person, it would take one
- 15:50Speaker 15: or two people to go do it. Instead, they got
- 15:52Speaker 15: to send an army out there because now they have
- 15:54Speaker 15: to look for them. And then since it's a sanctuary state,
- 15:57Speaker 15: you got people sitting there abusing the ICE officers that
- 16:01Speaker 15: are out there. I have a whole statement right here
- 16:03Speaker 15: that I was going to read to you guys. But
- 16:05Speaker 15: just listening to you guys, none of this is relevant
- 16:06Speaker 15: anymore because you guys just changed so much.
- 16:10Speaker 10: It makes no sense at all.
- 16:13Speaker 15: My daughter doesn't deserve this. She didn't ask for any
- 16:16Speaker 15: of this. The people that jumped the fence did, though.
- 16:19Speaker 15: They knew exactly what they were doing. They still chose
- 16:20Speaker 15: to move forward in that direction. And every day something's
- 16:23Speaker 15: happening to somebody. And it is your guys' fault. I
- 16:27Speaker 15: hold each and every one of you responsible for it.
- 16:29Speaker 15: And I always will.
- 16:31Speaker 6: I think that's excellent. And what I think is most
- 16:33Speaker 6: excellent about it, and of course somebody somewhere will say
- 16:35Speaker 6: it's racist somehow, even though the guy is not actually
- 16:38Speaker 6: a typical white guy, throwing that information out there, but
- 16:42Speaker 6: he is the father of a victim, a five-year-old who
- 16:45Speaker 6: was permanently disabled because of an illegal alien behind the
- 16:49Speaker 6: wheel of a truck that crashed into them. And so
- 16:51Speaker 6: here's the part that matters to you and to me
- 16:55Speaker 6: about this is the intention of media or politicians or others,
- 17:00Speaker 6: as he says at the beginning of his statement, to
- 17:03Speaker 6: ignore him, to pretend he doesn't exist, to continue to
- 17:06Speaker 6: say out loud that this doesn't happen at all, that
- 17:09Speaker 6: the people who are talking about this are just racist
- 17:11Speaker 6: and inventing it because of that prejudice that they have
- 17:15Speaker 6: in their hearts and not actually the reality of the
- 17:18Speaker 6: people that are saying this happened to my family. And
- 17:21Speaker 6: it's your fault until you stop it from happening to
- 17:24Speaker 6: the next family or the family after them or or
- 17:27Speaker 6: every family for the rest of history. You can never
- 17:30Speaker 6: allow this to happen again. You need to be the
- 17:33Speaker 6: ones that hold the accountability for the decisions you're making.
- 17:36Speaker 6: It's it's truly the way that I think a lot
- 17:39Speaker 6: of these discussions in politics to be a macro and
- 17:42Speaker 6: somewhat on a soapbox today deserve to go. There's so
- 17:46Speaker 6: many things where and I love the fact that he says, too.
- 17:49Speaker 6: that no matter how you grandstand in front of the world,
- 17:54Speaker 6: no matter how you do it in front of the country,
- 17:57Speaker 6: the reality of what you're doing behind closed doors is
- 17:59Speaker 6: not at all comparable to who you're pretending to be
- 18:03Speaker 6: in those moments where the camera and the microphone are
- 18:05Speaker 6: in front of you, even though Democrats, by and large,
- 18:08Speaker 6: still in those circumstances reject any of the change that
- 18:11Speaker 6: needs to be made to fix this problem. But the
- 18:14Speaker 6: thing that I love so much that he says behind
- 18:15Speaker 6: closed doors, none of you have reached out to me.
- 18:17Speaker 6: None of you have talked to me. None of you
- 18:18Speaker 6: even said we're so sorry for your family and for
- 18:22Speaker 6: your daughter because they know they're responsible for this. They
- 18:25Speaker 6: know that they're doing this just to win elections. The
- 18:29Speaker 6: Democrats believe, you know this and I know this, that
- 18:33Speaker 6: allowing the border to be open, allowing people to potentially
- 18:36Speaker 6: get the right to live here just means that they
- 18:38Speaker 6: get more votes and more races and win more elections.
- 18:41Speaker 6: That's all they care about. If a five year old
- 18:43Speaker 6: is permanently disabled because of someone who was not supposed
- 18:46Speaker 6: to be in this country doing something they're obviously not
- 18:49Speaker 6: supposed to do, that's the cost of doing business for them.
- 18:53Speaker 6: I've said this before and I'll say it again about Democrats.
- 18:56Speaker 6: And I mean this profoundly differently than just the simplistic
- 19:02Speaker 6: statement of they want to win elections because both sides
- 19:06Speaker 6: want that. Republicans, of course, want to win elections. Democrats do.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Anyone that runs for political office. wants to win the
- 19:12Speaker 6: thing they're running for. But the way they go about
- 19:15Speaker 6: fighting for that win, the things they're willing to sacrifice
- 19:18Speaker 6: along the way to get that win should be disgusting
- 19:22Speaker 6: to you and to me. In this case specifically, in
- 19:24Speaker 6: this type of conversation specifically, this should be beyond the cost.
- 19:29Speaker 6: This should be the thing that you say out loud,
- 19:31Speaker 6: all right, we can't do that. And I do believe
- 19:33Speaker 6: at some point, a long time ago in this country,
- 19:37Speaker 6: people on both sides were able to come together and say,
- 19:39Speaker 6: you know what, this is too far. This is the
- 19:42Speaker 6: line we cannot cross. That doesn't exist anymore. And it
- 19:45Speaker 6: hasn't existed for quite some time. And you get to
- 19:47Speaker 6: a place now, and I believe this to be the
- 19:50Speaker 6: next step in the evolution of this type of behavior,
- 19:53Speaker 6: political behavior. You get to the place now where the
- 19:58Speaker 6: Democrats think they can just sell communism and socialism to
- 20:01Speaker 6: the American people. Like, well, that's that's got to be
- 20:04Speaker 6: what we do next. It's because of these small breaks,
- 20:07Speaker 6: these small surrenders of this over here, that over there,
- 20:11Speaker 6: this belief, this this value that the United States should
- 20:15Speaker 6: have that we no longer have, that we abandon. It's
- 20:18Speaker 6: because of those decisions that we get to the point
- 20:20Speaker 6: where people can even remotely say or believe that they'd
- 20:24Speaker 6: win an election claiming that they're going to do more
- 20:28Speaker 6: as the government to make your life better. And you
- 20:30Speaker 6: know that. And I know that is completely not true.
- 20:33Speaker 6: Completely not the case and not not even something they're
- 20:35Speaker 6: capable of doing. But that's the path they go when
- 20:37Speaker 6: they realize that they can throw the border open, that
- 20:40Speaker 6: they can have the horrible issues like this occur in
- 20:43Speaker 6: our society and they don't lose elections. They should lose
- 20:46Speaker 6: massive amounts of elections on this topic alone because of
- 20:50Speaker 6: the actual harm and damage it's doing to our society
- 20:53Speaker 6: and to our country. Those things should matter. And yet,
- 20:58Speaker 6: of course, they they don't. And I actually this is
- 21:01Speaker 6: probably the most frustrating thing. that I talk about in
- 21:04Speaker 6: the world of politics or the world of... I even
- 21:07Speaker 6: just think this is like our day-to-day lives, a version
- 21:10Speaker 6: of a conversation. But this is the thing that drives
- 21:12Speaker 6: me the craziest. And I think I've been saying it
- 21:15Speaker 6: the whole show, so I'll just say it again because
- 21:17Speaker 6: it's truly what it is. The fact that the results,
- 21:22Speaker 6: the proof, isn't evaluated better by the average everyday American
- 21:26Speaker 6: who votes for these things on a certain side of
- 21:28Speaker 6: the aisle, that they don't actually evaluate the end results
- 21:33Speaker 6: the cause and effect components to how they make their
- 21:37Speaker 6: political decisions. Because if they did, you'd think that some
- 21:40Speaker 6: of this would get through. Some of these things would
- 21:43Speaker 6: be more easily discussed in a rational way between both
- 21:47Speaker 6: sides without the side that's trying to do the bad thing,
- 21:50Speaker 6: trying to couch whatever you disagree with them on as
- 21:53Speaker 6: racism and sexism and something that's not. I'm married to
- 21:56Speaker 6: a woman who was born in Mexico and is a U.S. citizen.
- 21:59Speaker 6: I don't dislike illegal immigration laws because I'm a racist.
- 22:04Speaker 6: That's an insane thing to say. I dislike it because
- 22:07Speaker 6: it's harming our country. It's harming our society and it's
- 22:09Speaker 6: harming people and families. I like the family of that
- 22:13Speaker 6: individual that spoke in front of Congress, of Marcus Coleman
- 22:17Speaker 6: and his five-year-old daughter. That's why I don't like it.
- 22:20Speaker 6: And that's why you shouldn't like it either. All right,
- 22:21Speaker 6: we got to take a break. After the break, we
- 22:23Speaker 6: will have a guest on to the show. I look
- 22:26Speaker 6: very much forward to talking to him about the organization
- 22:28Speaker 6: that he runs and the stuff that they do to
- 22:30Speaker 6: report on all things in the world of Texas and politics,
- 22:33Speaker 6: and actually a big reason that you should make certain
- 22:36Speaker 6: decisions in local races. So that's all coming up in
- 22:39Speaker 6: just a bit. Thrilled to be here as always. This
- 22:42Speaker 6: is KSEV Mornings. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne Dolcefino
- 22:46Speaker 6: is on special assignment, so he'll be back I think tomorrow.
- 22:50Speaker 6: I think we're going to try to do a remote
- 22:52Speaker 6: thing where Wayne is at his office and I'm here
- 22:56Speaker 6: in the studio. And both of us are still going
- 22:58Speaker 6: to come to you for a two-hour show on Thursday morning.
- 23:02Speaker 6: And I hope that that's something we can do a
- 23:04Speaker 6: lot of because I know it would make Wayne more
- 23:06Speaker 6: available on the show if we can figure out the
- 23:08Speaker 6: remote stuff, which we can. Technology exists. It's 2026. We
- 23:12Speaker 6: can get that done. But he should be here tomorrow.
- 23:15Speaker 6: We're going to take a break. A lot coming up.
- 23:17Speaker 6: This is KSEV Mornings. As I said, I'm Craig Collins. Wait,
- 23:21Speaker 6: there it is. There's the music. More in a bit.

- 25:39Speaker 6: KSEV, the voice of Texas. This is KSEV mornings. My
- 25:44Speaker 6: name is Craig Collins. Wayne Del Cefino is on special assignment.
- 25:48Speaker 6: We have a guest, Mark, who is calling in. He
- 25:50Speaker 6: is the guy in charge at the Texas voice, the
- 25:54Speaker 6: Texas voice dot com. Mark, welcome to the program.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Hey, Craig, I appreciate you having me on this morning.
- 26:01Speaker 6: No, I'm thrilled to have you on, man. A lot
- 26:03Speaker 6: of stuff to talk about. Tell me a little bit
- 26:05Speaker 6: about the website itself before we get into any of
- 26:07Speaker 6: the topics you've been writing about recently.
- 26:10Speaker 7: Sure.
- 26:10Speaker 4: The website is vtexasvoice.com, vtexasvoice.com. And basically, it's a news website.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Our slogan essentially is, our only agenda is the truth.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Started this thing a couple years ago. Yeah, I know.
- 26:27Speaker 4: I mean, to have someone reporting news and information about
- 26:32Speaker 4: what's going on in state government, Texas politics. I'm a
- 26:37Speaker 4: Harris County resident, so obviously I'm interested in what's going
- 26:41Speaker 4: on in my own backyard. Write pretty frequently about Harris
- 26:45Speaker 4: County issues. And a couple years ago, I was just
- 26:49Speaker 4: frustrated that there wasn't really a good source of information.
- 26:56Speaker 4: about Texas government and politics, especially as a conservative who
- 26:59Speaker 4: cares about truthful information. Folks will write about some of
- 27:05Speaker 4: the malfeasance going on with Democrat elected officials, Democrat policies,
- 27:12Speaker 4: highlighting work that conservatives are doing to make lives better
- 27:17Speaker 4: for everyday Texans. So I've been active in politics my
- 27:22Speaker 4: entire adult life. and figured, well, you know, why complain
- 27:27Speaker 4: about there being a lack of this? Why don't I
- 27:29Speaker 4: just step up and do it myself? And we've had
- 27:31Speaker 4: a really great response. We've built a great audience, I'm sure.
- 27:35Speaker 4: Some of your listeners are subscribers to the website. It's free.
- 27:41Speaker 4: You can sign up for our email list on the
- 27:44Speaker 4: website at thetexasvoice.com. Certainly encourage everyone to do that. Again,
- 27:50Speaker 4: No charge. Go straight to your inbox.
- 27:52Speaker 6: There you go.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And, you know, learn a thing or two about what's
- 27:56Speaker 4: what's going on in our state and our community.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Well, and honestly, and even further, I know you got
- 28:01Speaker 6: social media pages, too, at the TX voice that people
- 28:04Speaker 6: can check out. But let's get right to some of
- 28:06Speaker 6: the topics. Dishonorable conduct. Plumbers bid for Harris County. A
- 28:10Speaker 6: judge clattered by professional controversies. Support from far left policies.
- 28:15Speaker 6: I love the headline. I love the story. Can we
- 28:17Speaker 6: dive into that one first?
- 28:19Speaker 10: Absolutely.
- 28:20Speaker 4: And the term dishonorable conduct, I have that in quotations
- 28:24Speaker 4: because it's not just personal opinion because I'm with this website.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Although I have my own opinions, I'm certainly happy to
- 28:32Speaker 4: share those with you and your audience. On the website,
- 28:36Speaker 4: I'm fact-based. Again, our only agenda is the truth. So
- 28:41Speaker 4: this woman, Letitia Plummer, she was on Houston City Council,
- 28:46Speaker 4: now the Democrat nominee for Harris County judge. Not many
- 28:49Speaker 4: people know a whole lot about her background, so I
- 28:54Speaker 4: kind of did a deep dive on her and found some,
- 28:58Speaker 4: quite frankly, very interesting, some may say disturbing things that
- 29:04Speaker 4: speak to her character and fitness to run Harris County.
- 29:07Speaker 6: Well, and you even looked at her dental practice. Why
- 29:10Speaker 6: don't we start there as far as what some of
- 29:11Speaker 6: these things are? Yeah, go ahead.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Sure. Right now, Harris County wants to ask taxpayers for
- 29:17Speaker 4: more of their hard-earned money, as they've done the last
- 29:21Speaker 4: several years under the leadership of Lena Hidalgo. Letitia Plummer
- 29:26Speaker 4: running with Lena Hidalgo's endorsement. I know there's a lot
- 29:29Speaker 4: of conservatives who can't believe that she might be worse
- 29:32Speaker 4: than Lena Hidalgo, but that's kind of the consensus I'm
- 29:36Speaker 4: hearing from some of my friends here locally that she
- 29:41Speaker 4: may even be more extreme. But when you're running a
- 29:48Speaker 4: huge government entity like Harris County, I think your business
- 29:51Speaker 4: and professional background is absolutely relevant. to your competence and
- 29:57Speaker 4: the way that you're going to administer billions of taxpayer dollars.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Of course.
- 30:02Speaker 4: So in her dental practice, she's actually been sanctioned twice
- 30:07Speaker 4: by the state dental board, the Texas Board of Dental Examiners.
- 30:12Speaker 4: And her most recent sanction, which came in 2022, the
- 30:14Speaker 4: state dental board I want to make sure I.
- 30:21Speaker 6: Get all this correct. It's okay. I'll give you a
- 30:23Speaker 6: sec to pull it up.
- 30:24Speaker 4: It said Letitia Plummer, quote, engaged in dishonorable conduct and
- 30:30Speaker 4: violated her duty of fair dealing with respect to a
- 30:34Speaker 4: particular patient by overcharging them. And then there's all sorts
- 30:38Speaker 4: of other, you know, there's a whole laundry list, both
- 30:43Speaker 4: in the 2022 sanctions and a sanction that she had
- 30:46Speaker 4: received several years prior about just the sloppiness and the
- 30:52Speaker 4: way she ran her dental practice.
- 30:53Speaker 6: She's been fined thousands of dollars. She had to do
- 30:56Speaker 6: continuing education. So many crazy things happened there. So here's
- 31:00Speaker 6: the real point to discuss this, and we can get
- 31:02Speaker 6: more into the details of how Plummer herself is terrible
- 31:06Speaker 6: as a person, which seems to be pretty much the
- 31:08Speaker 6: takeaway from your article. But what's funny to me, and
- 31:11Speaker 6: this is what I'd love you to react to, Mark,
- 31:13Speaker 6: is that this debate about Paxton and who he is
- 31:16Speaker 6: as a person, like what things he might or might
- 31:19Speaker 6: not do in the world of a Senate seat if
- 31:21Speaker 6: he got one, is so relevant, it appears, to so
- 31:24Speaker 6: many people who are just going to willfully ignore the
- 31:27Speaker 6: terrible baggage that comes with the vast majority of the
- 31:30Speaker 6: politicians on the left that they're going to vote for.
- 31:32Speaker 6: So even though they say that they're people who care
- 31:34Speaker 6: about the quality of the person, they evidently don't. They
- 31:37Speaker 6: very hypocritically don't. Time and again, when it comes to
- 31:40Speaker 6: the things you can find or others can find, out
- 31:43Speaker 6: a lot of these people as just awful people. How
- 31:46Speaker 6: do you want to respond to that?
- 31:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, 1,000%. I mean, when you
- 31:50Speaker 4: look at Letitia Plummer's record, not only did she have
- 31:54Speaker 4: these professional sanctions from the state dental board, but she's
- 31:59Speaker 4: also had state and federal tax liens, one of which,
- 32:03Speaker 4: one federal tax lien, was for over $ 100, 000 before she
- 32:08Speaker 4: eventually got those resolved. But still, I mean, if she...
- 32:13Speaker 4: If she's not able to pay her own taxes, why
- 32:17Speaker 4: should she be asking the taxpayers of Harris County for
- 32:20Speaker 4: more of their hard-earned money? And she loves to do that. Yeah,
- 32:24Speaker 4: when she was on Houston City Council, she was an
- 32:28Speaker 4: extremely vocal proponent of a tax increase that even other
- 32:33Speaker 4: Democrats on the Houston City Council were like, hey, we're
- 32:39Speaker 4: not doing this.
- 32:39Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 6: Yeah, no, it's amazing to have that conversation about the
- 32:44Speaker 6: way in which, again, the people that they fight to
- 32:48Speaker 6: support are identical, if not worse than just from a
- 32:52Speaker 6: human behavior standpoint. to the people that they claim they
- 32:56Speaker 6: can never vote for on the other side of the aisle.
- 32:58Speaker 6: And a lot of it, to a certain extent, has
- 33:00Speaker 6: little to do with how they govern. But you make
- 33:03Speaker 6: a very good argument in this article and in general
- 33:05Speaker 6: that if it's about money and the handling of money
- 33:08Speaker 6: and you're going to wind up being someone who's very
- 33:10Speaker 6: influential in how certain financial decisions are made, that this
- 33:14Speaker 6: is relevant to what you'll actually do in a government
- 33:17Speaker 6: position because you've proven you can't be trusted. It's like
- 33:20Speaker 6: Having someone steal from your business and then being like,
- 33:23Speaker 6: all right, let's put you in charge of a lot
- 33:25Speaker 6: more stuff instead of firing you. We need to fire
- 33:28Speaker 6: more of these politicians for this type of behavior and
- 33:31Speaker 6: this type of rhetoric. And it just doesn't happen, which
- 33:35Speaker 6: which mystifies me. And do you think like a caller
- 33:38Speaker 6: did who called in earlier to the show that part
- 33:40Speaker 6: of the reason why, especially when it comes to property tax?
- 33:43Speaker 6: is a whole lot of people don't even pay attention
- 33:45Speaker 6: to how much property tax they're paying. They should be,
- 33:48Speaker 6: but a lot of people who support these policies and
- 33:50Speaker 6: potentially are harmed by them, uh, simply turn the blind
- 33:54Speaker 6: eye accidentally or on purpose to the reality of two,
- 33:57Speaker 6: $ 300 hikes year in and year out to how much
- 34:00Speaker 6: you're paying in property taxes each year.
- 34:03Speaker 4: No, it's some of the two, especially, uh, with, with
- 34:06Speaker 4: younger voters. I think you and I are both what
- 34:08Speaker 4: they call elder millennials. Uh, you know, I've, I'm personally
- 34:14Speaker 4: a homeowner, so I see it, I feel it. But
- 34:17Speaker 4: for my friends, especially younger friends who are still renting,
- 34:21Speaker 4: they're not writing a property tax check. Now they're paying
- 34:25Speaker 4: higher and higher rent because of property taxes that are
- 34:29Speaker 4: being passed along to them. But they don't get a
- 34:32Speaker 4: property tax bill in the mail. So it's not something
- 34:37Speaker 4: they see directly, even though it absolutely– impacts in the
- 34:42Speaker 4: affordability of their housing.
- 34:45Speaker 7: Amen.
- 34:45Speaker 6: Let's talk about another story that you have out there.
- 34:47Speaker 6: This is a Tallarico endorser, a medical freedom opponent of
- 34:51Speaker 6: Mark Cuban that's going to testify before the Texas House.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Give me a little bit more about this celebrity billionaire
- 34:58Speaker 6: and how he's tied to this whole thing.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, so one of James Tallarico's big talking points on
- 35:06Speaker 4: the campaign trail is he wants to get rid of
- 35:10Speaker 4: the influence of billionaires and big money in politics.
- 35:13Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Well, just this past weekend in Fort Worth, he's literally
- 35:18Speaker 4: up on stage with Mark Cuban, one of the most
- 35:22Speaker 4: outspoken celebrity billionaires in the country, talking with Mark Cuban,
- 35:28Speaker 4: praising James Tallarico, talking about how great he is. They're
- 35:35Speaker 4: working together on health care policy, even though Tallarico, he
- 35:42Speaker 4: has his own plan to increase government intervention in health
- 35:46Speaker 4: care that he's calling Medicare for y'all. He's talked about
- 35:51Speaker 4: how universal health care is a, quote, unquote, human right.
- 35:55Speaker 4: So one of the reasons, though, that health care in
- 35:58Speaker 4: America right now is such a mess is is especially
- 36:01Speaker 4: after Obamacare passed and James Tallarico said he's going to
- 36:04Speaker 4: have to send Obamacare and the Affordable Care.
- 36:10Speaker 5: Act.
- 36:10Speaker 4: So instead of looking for free market, limited government solutions
- 36:14Speaker 4: to drive down the cost of healthcare, you've got James
- 36:17Speaker 4: Tallarico calling for more and more and more government intervention
- 36:21Speaker 4: and regulation. And all we've seen is that the more
- 36:25Speaker 4: the government gets involved in healthcare and healthcare policy, the
- 36:30Speaker 4: more expensive health care it gets for Americans and the
- 36:33Speaker 4: fewer choices Americans have for their health care.
- 36:36Speaker 6: Sure. Did you watch the actual testimony from Mark Cuban
- 36:39Speaker 6: the other day? Did you have any reactions to what
- 36:41Speaker 6: he said to the Texas House?
- 36:42Speaker 4: So a lot of his testimony, it looked like, was
- 36:46Speaker 4: focused more on prescription drugs. He has a pharmacy that
- 36:54Speaker 4: he started. But I just, again, have to wonder, you know,
- 36:58Speaker 4: is someone like Mark Cuban... who's galvanizing around with James Tallarico,
- 37:04Speaker 4: the best person to be taking advice from on health
- 37:07Speaker 4: care policy.
- 37:08Speaker 6: Well, and honestly, anytime that someone has skin in the game,
- 37:11Speaker 6: I always trust them even less. Like, I don't know
- 37:13Speaker 6: if you remember this, Mark, I do vividly, when the
- 37:17Speaker 6: big pharma guys would be interviewed during COVID, and they're
- 37:20Speaker 6: the ones talking about how we need more shots. And
- 37:23Speaker 6: I'm like, how can you interview the CEO of Pfizer
- 37:26Speaker 6: and ask him an opinion? on this, because he obviously
- 37:28Speaker 6: has a very financial... Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:31Speaker 4: He might be just a touch bit biased on this subject.
- 37:34Speaker 6: He might not be the best voice to have this discussion.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Just a tad.
- 37:37Speaker 6: Just a tad, Craig. Cuban feels very similar in that vein.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Before I let you go, we're running out of time
- 37:42Speaker 6: very quickly, but Mark, and pronounce your last name for
- 37:45Speaker 6: me so I get it correctly.
- 37:47Speaker 10: McKegg.
- 37:48Speaker 6: McKegg. Okay, I want to make sure.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Like Kegavir.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Yeah, Mark McKegg.
- 37:52Speaker 4: It's spelled M-C-C-A-I-G, but pronounced McKegg.
- 37:56Speaker 6: McKaig, thank you very much. You are the person behind
- 37:59Speaker 6: The Texas Voice at thetexasvoice.com. Before I let you go,
- 38:02Speaker 6: something that might not be on my radar as a
- 38:04Speaker 6: relatively new Texan, having only lived here for a little
- 38:07Speaker 6: over a year now, that you've been talking about a
- 38:09Speaker 6: lot on The Texas Voice. Can you think of one
- 38:11Speaker 6: that you want to throw out there? Sure.
- 38:14Speaker 4: I mean, I think a lot of it is, you know,
- 38:16Speaker 4: as we're approaching the November election season, one of the
- 38:22Speaker 4: biggest things I've been concerned about as a conservative is
- 38:25Speaker 4: are folks who really stir discontent among conservatives for their
- 38:31Speaker 4: own personal gain. And I think right now there's a
- 38:35Speaker 4: need for conservatives to unify. There's a lot of great
- 38:40Speaker 4: work that Republican candidates and elected officials have done. And
- 38:45Speaker 4: I don't want to see unnecessary infighting caused and stirred
- 38:50Speaker 4: up by a few people who get paid to stir
- 38:53Speaker 4: dissent among conservatives. conserved as when the real enemy is
- 38:57Speaker 4: the far left, folks like James Tallarico, folks like Letitia Plummer,
- 39:01Speaker 4: and folks who are even more extreme than those guys
- 39:06Speaker 4: who see Texas as the crown jewel, not just to
- 39:13Speaker 4: impact Texas, but nationwide. Because if Texas falls, there's going
- 39:17Speaker 4: to be tremendous repercussions nationwide. And quite frankly, I don't
- 39:22Speaker 4: like hyperbole. But I really do think the American way
- 39:26Speaker 4: of life is in jeopardy if Texas falls to the Democrats.
- 39:29Speaker 6: I hate hyperbole, too, and I agree with you on that,
- 39:31Speaker 6: that I think that truthfully the fight now is significant
- 39:35Speaker 6: to the degree that they've long told us it was,
- 39:38Speaker 6: but it actually rises to that level if we let
- 39:41Speaker 6: someone like Italo Rico wind up being a senator out
- 39:43Speaker 6: of Texas. I really enjoyed talking to you. I really
- 39:46Speaker 6: enjoyed this conversation, Mark. I assume... I will do it
- 39:49Speaker 6: again soon. And I do want to say to part
- 39:52Speaker 6: of the response you just gave me there, part of
- 39:54Speaker 6: the answer, that it's interesting to hear from you, a
- 39:57Speaker 6: guy that runs a website that's putting some stuff on
- 39:59Speaker 6: social media that would like to get probably more and more,
- 40:02Speaker 6: you know, views and eyeballs paying attention to you, that
- 40:06Speaker 6: you don't want to sell out like some of those
- 40:08Speaker 6: people have in social media to get that amount of attention.
- 40:11Speaker 6: There are a lot of people who are doing whatever
- 40:13Speaker 6: it takes to get all the eyeballs on them and
- 40:16Speaker 6: and make as much money as possible for their own
- 40:19Speaker 6: social media channel or web page or whatever it might
- 40:21Speaker 6: be that I think are part of that group you
- 40:23Speaker 6: described that are harming a party within by advocating against
- 40:28Speaker 6: it because they've noticed that gets them more attention than
- 40:31Speaker 6: the opposite. So it's kind of nice to hear from you,
- 40:32Speaker 6: a guy who runs your own site, that you have
- 40:35Speaker 6: no interest in doing that.
- 40:37Speaker 7: No, no.
- 40:37Speaker 4: Like I said, my only agenda is the truth. Again,
- 40:40Speaker 4: check us out at vtexasvoice.com, vtexasvoice.com. Sign up for our
- 40:46Speaker 4: email list. Follow us on social media. And, Craig, I
- 40:49Speaker 4: really appreciate you having me on. And hopefully we can
- 40:51Speaker 4: do it again soon.
- 40:52Speaker 8: Sure.
- 40:52Speaker 6: Absolutely. Thanks so much. That is Mark McKegg. I like
- 40:55Speaker 6: the way that he explains how to pronounce his last
- 40:57Speaker 6: name because I've often done that with another name that
- 41:02Speaker 6: I went by for a lot of my life. And
- 41:04Speaker 6: you just got to find out what rhymes with it.
- 41:06Speaker 6: But Mark McKegg, thetexasvoice.com is a great website to go
- 41:09Speaker 6: to and to read a bunch of the things going
- 41:12Speaker 6: on in Texas from someone who seems very tapped in.
- 41:15Speaker 6: and interested in what I'm interested in on this radio station,
- 41:19Speaker 6: simply telling you the truth. I'm certainly going to share
- 41:21Speaker 6: my opinion. The vast majority of what I'll do on
- 41:24Speaker 6: this show will be opinion-based discussion of what I think
- 41:27Speaker 6: are the facts, what I believe to be the facts,
- 41:30Speaker 6: and what I intend to prove to you are the
- 41:31Speaker 6: facts in a vast majority of the conversations we discuss
- 41:35Speaker 6: or I discuss on this show. That is really the goal.
- 41:38Speaker 6: People roll their eyes on the left when they hear
- 41:41Speaker 6: someone on the right say that, But they don't understand.
- 41:44Speaker 6: This is my opinion. And we'll take a break and
- 41:46Speaker 6: then we'll come back and we'll close the show maybe
- 41:48Speaker 6: with a couple more calls. But my opinion is that
- 41:51Speaker 6: the people on the left who roll their eyes when
- 41:53Speaker 6: they hear someone on the right say, I just want
- 41:54Speaker 6: to tell you the truth, are still eating all of
- 41:57Speaker 6: the lies that they're being told by a lot of
- 42:00Speaker 6: media outlets that are willingly lying to them. And they're
- 42:03Speaker 6: the only people that I seem to not be able
- 42:05Speaker 6: to reach by saying that I just want to tell
- 42:07Speaker 6: you the truth because they have no idea what the
- 42:09Speaker 6: truth is. All right, quick break. A lot more. KSEV Mornings,

- 44:24Speaker 6: Trying to wait for the hit. I know there's a
- 44:25Speaker 6: hit in this song. KSV Mornings. 700 AM. The Voice
- 44:32Speaker 6: of Texas. My name is Craig Collins. Wayne DelGiovino is
- 44:37Speaker 6: on special.
- 44:37Speaker 5: There it is!
- 44:40Speaker 6: Wayne DelGiovino is on special assignments. Just a few minutes
- 44:43Speaker 6: left in the show. If you want to participate, you
- 44:46Speaker 6: want to be a part of it, I'm giving out
- 44:47Speaker 6: the phone number more today because I like the fact
- 44:50Speaker 6: that KSV is a a caller-friendly radio station? I do.
- 44:54Speaker 6: I genuinely do. I know that some data I've seen
- 44:57Speaker 6: in radio indicates that maybe it's not a great approach
- 45:00Speaker 6: all the time, but who cares? Let's go ahead and
- 45:03Speaker 6: talk to people. Sharon is on the phone. Sharon has
- 45:06Speaker 6: called us from West Houston. Sharon, what do you want
- 45:07Speaker 6: to say?
- 45:09Speaker 12: Hi, Greg.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Thanks for the interview with Mark.
- 45:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:14Speaker 3: He's getting good information out there, and that harks back
- 45:18Speaker 3: to what? Wayne said, first day of your show, your
- 45:21Speaker 3: new format. He said, the people are just incredibly ignorant.
- 45:28Speaker 3: And that includes all of us. We haven't been paying attention.
- 45:31Speaker 3: And so one of the jobs of your show that
- 45:33Speaker 3: I appreciate you're doing is you're informing people, helping us
- 45:38Speaker 3: get informed about for the upcoming election. So I like
- 45:42Speaker 3: what Mark had to tell us about Letitia Plummer. And
- 45:46Speaker 3: she's a real danger. But the reason I called is
- 45:49Speaker 3: because I want to encourage everyone to get involved on
- 45:53Speaker 3: the local level. Find out who your precinct chairman is.
- 45:57Speaker 3: My precinct chairman, I'm in Harris County, contacted me, asked
- 46:01Speaker 3: if I could help. And I asked him for signs,
- 46:05Speaker 3: and he brought signs to my yard yesterday. And we
- 46:09Speaker 3: actually sat on my front porch and talked on my
- 46:12Speaker 3: front step, talked together, got to know one another. And
- 46:16Speaker 3: we talked about property taxes and all the things the
- 46:19Speaker 3: callers have talked about this morning. So getting everybody involved
- 46:23Speaker 3: and getting to know one another instead of walking around
- 46:25Speaker 3: looking at our phone screens all the time. But get
- 46:30Speaker 3: to know the neighbors. Get to know your precinct chairman.
- 46:32Speaker 3: And the interesting thing is he actually grew up in
- 46:36Speaker 3: New York. He's a New Yorker.
- 46:38Speaker 14: Oh, wow.
- 46:38Speaker 3: And he said that– I said, well, how did you
- 46:42Speaker 3: get down here? Oh, and he's a Democrat. And I said,
- 46:45Speaker 3: how did you get to the Republican Party? Because he's
- 46:48Speaker 3: Republican Party precinct chairman.
- 46:50Speaker 6: Sure, sure.
- 46:51Speaker 3: And he said, he said, I, he said, it happens,
- 46:56Speaker 3: he's a baby boomer, like I am.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 46:58Speaker 3: And he said, it was the year of the election
- 47:01Speaker 3: for Ronald Reagan. Wow. And we opened the newspaper, my
- 47:04Speaker 3: wife and I, and we read the platform and what
- 47:06Speaker 3: Ronald Reagan wanted to do. And he said, They voted
- 47:09Speaker 3: for Ronald Reagan, and they haven't gone back.
- 47:11Speaker 4: They're Republicans ever since.
- 47:12Speaker 6: There you go. You want to shout him out by name?
- 47:15Speaker 6: Do you want to actually give his name, Sharon, on
- 47:16Speaker 6: the air.
- 47:18Speaker 9: Or no?
- 47:19Speaker 3: Well, I don't know. I guess he wouldn't care.
- 47:21Speaker 4: It's Mitch Lurk.
- 47:23Speaker 6: There you go.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's of our precinct here in my village.
- 47:30Speaker 3: But he contacted me first, and then I jumped into him.
- 47:33Speaker 3: So the point is we got to know each other.
- 47:36Speaker 3: And now I have yard signs in my yard.
- 47:38Speaker 6: There you go.
- 47:38Speaker 3: And I'm supporting the Republican. But the point is, we
- 47:42Speaker 3: need to get to know one another. And that's the
- 47:45Speaker 3: value of your show.
- 47:46Speaker 10: Amen.
- 47:47Speaker 3: And people calling in and bringing up issues. And we're
- 47:50Speaker 3: all getting to know one another. And we need to
- 47:52Speaker 3: know about the people that are going to be on
- 47:54Speaker 3: the ballot in November.
- 47:56Speaker 6: Amen. Thank you very much for the call, Sharon. I
- 47:57Speaker 6: really appreciate it. And I love shouting out the precinct
- 48:01Speaker 6: chair close to you. And we should do more of that.
- 48:04Speaker 6: Maybe we should get to know your precinct chair. or
- 48:06Speaker 6: some of the other political roles that exist in this
- 48:09Speaker 6: city and in this state via this show. Maybe I'll
- 48:12Speaker 6: interview some of them. We could even do that as
- 48:13Speaker 6: like a little segment. I get to know the precinct chair,
- 48:16Speaker 6: get to know somebody who you can talk to on
- 48:18Speaker 6: a local level to get involved in elections because I
- 48:21Speaker 6: love it. And I absolutely agree with what Sharon said.
- 48:24Speaker 6: And I think that that's kind of been at the
- 48:26Speaker 6: heart of the discussion throughout the totality of the show
- 48:29Speaker 6: today is that you have to pay attention.
- 48:32Speaker 14: You just do.
- 48:33Speaker 6: In the world we live in now, so many people
- 48:35Speaker 6: think that they pay attention, and yet they don't, because
- 48:38Speaker 6: if they choose one outlet or one spot to pay
- 48:41Speaker 6: attention to and then think they're informed. I can't tell you.
- 48:45Speaker 6: I'm going to say something. I am an elder millennial,
- 48:48Speaker 6: as Mark McKegg referenced when he was on from The
- 48:51Speaker 6: Texas Voice a little bit earlier in the show. And
- 48:53Speaker 6: I can't tell you the amount of people I know
- 48:55Speaker 6: of my age group, a lot of them who are
- 48:57Speaker 6: still Democrats. who said that they got most of their
- 49:00Speaker 6: information in politics years ago, and even today, from Jon
- 49:04Speaker 6: Stewart and The Daily Show, which is a humor-based show
- 49:07Speaker 6: that does not tell you just profound truths. They give
- 49:10Speaker 6: you a whole lot of opinion themselves and are very unfair,
- 49:14Speaker 6: I think, at times in the topics they discuss. But
- 49:16Speaker 6: that was it. Like, that's the only outlet that someone
- 49:19Speaker 6: went to, even if Jon Stewart himself is someone at
- 49:21Speaker 6: times that I disagree with but don't heavily dislike. I
- 49:25Speaker 6: dislike his positions and his beliefs on a myriad of topics,
- 49:29Speaker 6: but there's a certain amount of respect they have for
- 49:31Speaker 6: the person himself and the humor, whether I think it's
- 49:34Speaker 6: funny or not. But I'll say this, that the amount
- 49:37Speaker 6: of people I know who get their information from that,
- 49:39Speaker 6: or like the Saturday Night Live opening thing that they'll see,
- 49:45Speaker 6: the cold open is what it's called if it's political,
- 49:48Speaker 6: like that's where they think their political opinions deserve to
- 49:50Speaker 6: come from, it's terrifying that people don't look a little
- 49:53Speaker 6: bit closer, a little bit more, or at a more
- 49:56Speaker 6: local level. So yes, Sharon, I will respond to you
- 49:59Speaker 6: directly and say we'll do a better job on this
- 50:01Speaker 6: show of that by interviewing some local politicians and having
- 50:04Speaker 6: some local Texas and Harris County-specific I thank everybody who
- 50:09Speaker 6: called in and participated in the show today. A bunch
- 50:11Speaker 6: of fun. KSEV mornings. I am Craig Collins. I am
- 50:15Speaker 6: actually one of the two hosts of the show. Not
- 50:17Speaker 6: just filling in, but Craig Collins, Wayne Dolcefino, KSEV mornings,
- 50:22Speaker 6: the voice of Texas on 700 AM. See you tomorrow.
- 50:33Speaker 10: There was no turning back.
