- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for we're back to the basics and healthcare
- 0:01Speaker 1: with balanced life Chiropractic. We're here with doctor Harley. Hello,
- 0:04Speaker 1: doctor Harley, Hey.
- 0:05Speaker 2: John, I'm doing great, having a good summer so far.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Absolutely. Father's Day is done. Now, got the countdown to
- 0:12Speaker 1: fourth of July. I'll be here before you know it.
- 0:14Speaker 1: This month is Men's Health month, and we've been talking
- 0:16Speaker 1: about men. Sometimes we're a little bit stubborn. We don't
- 0:20Speaker 1: necessarily rush right in to get things taken care of.
- 0:22Speaker 1: So if anybody's out there breaking their back this weekend
- 0:24Speaker 1: getting all the work done in the yard, this is
- 0:26Speaker 1: the time to come see a chiropractor.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Right. The weather was really nice over the weekend. It
- 0:30Speaker 2: wasn't too crazy windy, it didn't rain all weekend. Sure
- 0:33Speaker 2: we got a little bit. So the grass probably is growing.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Your garden was growing. The weeds especially always seemed to
- 0:39Speaker 2: grow more than what you planted in the garden. So, yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 2: if you were out doing some yardwork or lawn cares,
- 0:47Speaker 2: now's the time to listen up. Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So when people maybe strain a little too much, lifting
- 0:52Speaker 1: too much, raking too much, mowing too much, trimming too much, whatever,
- 0:56Speaker 1: it is just a little too much. They feel pain,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but usually that's not the pain that we're feeling. That's
- 1:03Speaker 1: like a symptom of something else, isn't it right.
- 1:06Speaker 2: We've talked about that before, that when we have aches
- 1:09Speaker 2: and pains, it's not necessarily that that's the problem there.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It could be that somewhere else isn't moving or working
- 1:16Speaker 2: like it's supposed to. So then that area where're feeling
- 1:18Speaker 2: the pain, it has been working harder, and so it's
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's fatiguing faster, or it's you know, potentially getting you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: in muscles a little more micro tears. You know, when
- 1:27Speaker 2: you build muscle, that's what's happening when you're using them.
- 1:30Speaker 2: They're just getting more exhausted, more tired. I always think
- 1:32Speaker 2: of our body kind of like a bunch of guys
- 1:33Speaker 2: on a job site. If you have one guy that's
- 1:36Speaker 2: slacking off, that's me not doing the work. You know,
- 1:40Speaker 2: he's not necessarily going to be complaining about not doing
- 1:42Speaker 2: the work right, he's waiting for someone else to yell
- 1:45Speaker 2: at him or catch him that he's not doing it.
- 1:48Speaker 2: It's the other guys around him that they're suddenly having
- 1:50Speaker 2: to make up the slack for this one guy not working,
- 1:54Speaker 2: they're gonna be the ones complaining and telling the boss
- 1:57Speaker 2: and getting mad, and they're more tired because they're working. So,
- 2:01Speaker 2: you know, the guy that's not working, that's the one
- 2:03Speaker 2: we're looking for. We want to know, get him back
- 2:04Speaker 2: into shape, get him back into working like he's supposed to.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And that's a really good analogy because I've noticed, like
- 2:10Speaker 1: when I have a sore foot, then I walk a
- 2:11Speaker 1: little different. Well, then I end up with a sore
- 2:13Speaker 1: leg because I'm walking weird, and then I end up
- 2:16Speaker 1: with a sore back because I'm walking weird. But it's
- 2:19Speaker 1: not the back or the leg that need to be fixed.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's the sore foot that needs to be fixed.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Right, you know. And it could be that you never
- 2:25Speaker 2: know exactly what the cause is until we start kind
- 2:27Speaker 2: of poking around and feeling like, well, this area's not
- 2:29Speaker 2: moving like it's supposed to, or we see on X
- 2:30Speaker 2: rays that there's a curvature where there shouldn't be, or
- 2:33Speaker 2: you're missing a curvature in your spine, and that's putting
- 2:35Speaker 2: more stress in other areas. You know, it takes it
- 2:38Speaker 2: it's better to look into what's actually causing the problem
- 2:41Speaker 2: than just chasing where the pain is.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And this sounds really deep, but you should look deep
- 2:45Speaker 1: within to find to find where the issue is. And
- 2:48Speaker 1: doctor Harley can help with that, and you can look
- 2:51Speaker 1: all the way through us with your X ray machine.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You have all kinds of fancy tools here that do
- 2:55Speaker 1: all the coolest things. So if somebody listening is going,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I know I have issues. I don't know what those
- 3:00Speaker 1: issues are. You can probably help them figure out what
- 3:03Speaker 1: it is, can't you.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good start to come in and chat
- 3:06Speaker 2: with us and we can, you know, figure out what's
- 3:08Speaker 2: going on. You know, are there some things you know, muscle,
- 3:10Speaker 2: nerve or structural bone wise that's causing the problem because
- 3:14Speaker 2: we're able to take a look at all three of
- 3:15Speaker 2: those different concepts and be able to figure out what's
- 3:18Speaker 2: the best plan of action to get you back on
- 3:20Speaker 2: your feet faster.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Very nice. If somebody listening is saying I could use
- 3:23Speaker 1: help with this, how do they connect with Balanced Life Chiropractic.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I think if it's a call at six zero five
- 3:28Speaker 2: two one five one seven eight five, or reach out
- 3:30Speaker 2: to us on our Facebook page, we'd love to chat
- 3:32Speaker 2: and help you how to happier, healthier summer.
