- 0:02Speaker 1: Life Audio Thank you for listening to your daily prayer,
- 0:15Speaker 1: where we help you find the words you need to
- 0:17Speaker 1: connect to your Father in Heaven. No matter what is
- 0:20Speaker 1: happening in your life today, you can trust that God
- 0:23Speaker 1: wants to hear from you. Right after this short word
- 0:26Speaker 1: from our sponsors, we'll pray today's prayer to seek out
- 0:30Speaker 1: the Lord. A Prayer to Seek Out the Lord, written
- 0:51Speaker 1: by Vivian Bricker, read by Carrie Eichberger. I sought the Lord,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and He answered me. He delivered me from all my fears.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Psalm 34, verse 4. Whenever we are going through a
- 1:08Speaker 1: troublesome time, we tend to turn away from God. We
- 1:12Speaker 1: think we can handle whatever life throws our way, but
- 1:16Speaker 1: it is not true. We need to seek out God
- 1:19Speaker 1: in our darkest moments because He is always there for us.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Through any storm or struggle, God will never leave us.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you.
- 1:32Speaker 1: He believes in us even when we have given up ourselves.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I learned this truth the hard way as I turned
- 1:39Speaker 1: away from God when I was immensely struggling with my health.
- 1:44Speaker 1: When I had to go to the hospital a while ago,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I felt the furthest I have ever felt from God.
- 1:50Speaker 1: While I felt closer to death than I ever have,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I doubted God's presence with me. I saw everyone around
- 1:57Speaker 1: me living happy, fulfilling lives, while I was struggling to
- 2:01Speaker 1: even be discharged from the hospital. At this time, I
- 2:05Speaker 1: was living with an undiagnosed autoimmune illness. Prior to being diagnosed,
- 2:10Speaker 1: I only grew further from God until something had to give.
- 2:15Speaker 1: On one gloomy dark night, I decided to talk to
- 2:18Speaker 1: God in prayer. In this conversation, I poured out my
- 2:22Speaker 1: heart to Him and my worries. I told Him I
- 2:25Speaker 1: was terrified of what life was going to look like
- 2:28Speaker 1: with a chronic illness. I had finally come to accept
- 2:31Speaker 1: the truth that I would have these symptoms and pain
- 2:35Speaker 1: for the rest of my life. And this acceptance is
- 2:38Speaker 1: what has helped me to finally turn back to God.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I trusted Him with my future. even though a future
- 2:45Speaker 1: with an incurable illness wasn't what I wanted. God didn't
- 2:49Speaker 1: cause me to develop an autoimmune illness. However, He could
- 2:53Speaker 1: help me as I faced this illness for the rest
- 2:56Speaker 1: of my life. Flash forward to the present day, I'm
- 3:00Speaker 1: glad I sought out the Lord and found strength in
- 3:03Speaker 1: His presence. There will be times when all will turn
- 3:07Speaker 1: away from God, but what matters is returning to Him.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The Bible tells us, I sought the Lord and he
- 3:14Speaker 1: answered me. He delivered me from all my fears. David
- 3:19Speaker 1: penned these words while he was pretending to be insane
- 3:22Speaker 1: before Abimelech. He was afraid for his safety, yet he
- 3:26Speaker 1: still found solace in God. Just as God delivered David
- 3:31Speaker 1: from all his fears, he also will deliver us through
- 3:35Speaker 1: all our fears. The first step is seeking him out.
- 3:40Speaker 1: While we won't always be able to avoid fear, we
- 3:43Speaker 1: can fight it With God's help, He can help us
- 3:47Speaker 1: to stand strong when we are afraid and to face
- 3:50Speaker 1: our fears with confidence. Think about what you need to
- 3:53Speaker 1: do today. Do you need to seek out the Lord today?
- 3:58Speaker 1: He is our amazing Savior, and He wants to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: sought out. God is not far from any of us.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Seeking out God means going to the Bible. All Scripture
- 4:10Speaker 1: is profitable for teaching, training, and correcting. The Bible is
- 4:15Speaker 1: God's main way of communicating with us. Actively reading the
- 4:19Speaker 1: Bible every day and going to Him in prayer will
- 4:22Speaker 1: deepen our relationship with Him. God can also be sought
- 4:26Speaker 1: through worship and praise. Making music to the Lord, such
- 4:30Speaker 1: as singing or playing an instrument, can be a way
- 4:33Speaker 1: to connect with Him. Reading a devotional, listening to a sermon,
- 4:38Speaker 1: or talking with a spiritual mentor could also be ways
- 4:41Speaker 1: to seek God out in your life. Seek Him out today,
- 4:45Speaker 1: and you will find Him when you search for Him
- 4:48Speaker 1: with all your heart. Let's pray. Dear God, I'm choosing
- 4:53Speaker 1: to seek You out today. I've turned away from You
- 4:56Speaker 1: for too long. I will never do this again. Turn
- 5:00Speaker 1: my eyes and my heart to You always, God. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: don't want to live in the shadow of my doubts,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but rather to live in the freedom of Your love.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Help me to rely on what I know rather than
- 5:12Speaker 1: how I feel. My feelings tend to change so much,
- 5:16Speaker 1: and they are not reliable. I trust in you to
- 5:20Speaker 1: deliver me from all my fears. I will seek you
- 5:24Speaker 1: out always, God. In your son's name I pray. Amen.
