- 0:13Speaker 1: show here from the the recesses of ted Bell Canyon.
- 0:16Speaker 1: We haven't even asked Ted about.
- 0:17Speaker 2: That that way.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's Ted Bill that that's lame. I think the
- 0:20Speaker 1: whole thing's lame.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Oh, you guys have decided it's lame. Huh. Well, Phil,
- 0:24Speaker 1: you didn't like it either, we were. I you're right,
- 0:28Speaker 1: you know. Call it what it is, Sierra Madre Canyon.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I just like the idea of Ted Bill. If Ted
- 0:33Speaker 1: signs off on it, we say, from ted Bell Canyon
- 0:36Speaker 1: and Sierra Madre Canyon overlooking the Great City of Los Angeles. Yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 1: people don't like that. It's too much. It's just too
- 0:42Speaker 1: much color and pageantry. You know, you don't like it. God,
- 0:47Speaker 1: did you hear that? I said? Maybe you don't like it, Pale,
- 0:50Speaker 1: Maybe I don't. Anyway, this is General Galen Show. As
- 0:53Speaker 1: long as field as want to introduced the show, I
- 0:55Speaker 1: got it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I got it. Now.
- 0:56Speaker 1: This is Margaret Gray, Bud Dickman. Hello, and so today
- 0:59Speaker 1: we're gonna have coach Vernon Dozer on and Coach Doser
- 1:02Speaker 1: is complaining about football as in the round one that
- 1:05Speaker 1: they're kicking around here at the World Cup. Have you
- 1:07Speaker 1: been at the games? No, I have not been any
- 1:09Speaker 1: of the games. Well, I've got a lot of them
- 1:11Speaker 1: here in LA over there so far. Now people should know.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Sofi Stadium is what they used to call Los Angeles Stadium.
- 1:18Speaker 1: It was called so Fi why.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Because it's good for Southern California fidelity.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So I don't know something, Yeah, Southern California fidelity. It
- 1:28Speaker 1: was something like that. It's like so Fie maybe a song.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I know, it's so fine the song, the song so fine. Yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you know, it's so fine. And I don't think it
- 1:38Speaker 1: is okay, So I don't even care.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:40Speaker 1: It's at LA Stadium, and it's all over the country, Miami,
- 1:45Speaker 1: it's in Boston. It's it's all over the place, man.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And so we watched a little bit of that. Today.
- 1:49Speaker 1: We've got coach Vernon Dozer coming on here. We got
- 1:53Speaker 1: Coach Vernon Dozer coming on here to talk with us
- 1:56Speaker 1: a little bit about the you know, the World Cup
- 1:59Speaker 1: and frankly, how it affects you, coach. And the reason
- 2:03Speaker 1: why I wanted to ask you is because one of
- 2:05Speaker 1: the guys at the school there, it was Dean Hargrave.
- 2:09Speaker 1: You know him, Yeah, I know.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I mean he's one of the coaches at the he
- 2:14Speaker 2: coaches over at perviiak.
- 2:15Speaker 1: He's just not at the school.
- 2:17Speaker 2: No, not the school anymore.
- 2:18Speaker 1: No, okay, Well he said that you had a problem
- 2:20Speaker 1: with the World Cup being called world football?
- 2:23Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no. When did you talk to him?
- 2:26Speaker 1: I just I was over there, was talking to father mccarters,
- 2:29Speaker 1: and he happened in.
- 2:30Speaker 2: He happened in. Man, the guy hasn't been worry Oh
- 2:32Speaker 2: that's pretty weird.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Maybe he's looking for another job. Maybe the job isn't
- 2:35Speaker 1: working out of the other place anyway, So I'm gonna
- 2:39Speaker 1: have to talk about that. So, yeah, I had a
- 2:43Speaker 1: couple of problems. I was talking to him about that.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Do you not agree with the the I'm calling it
- 2:50Speaker 1: world football?
- 2:51Speaker 2: No? I don't like that at all. And I told
- 2:53Speaker 2: Dean that, and I told Proud of mc quarters that,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and I tell anybody that considers himself to be the
- 2:59Speaker 2: fan of the World Cup and all this, you know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: marvelous stuff that they're doing. I say to them, with
- 3:07Speaker 2: all due respect, I've given my life to the game
- 3:10Speaker 2: of football. And you people come on and go, well,
- 3:13Speaker 2: it's called world football. You can do whatever you want
- 3:15Speaker 2: to do. And I guess what people will will accept
- 3:17Speaker 2: what they want to accept. But it came as a
- 3:20Speaker 2: little bit, I could tell you right now. My mouth
- 3:22Speaker 2: got dry. I felt I needed to sit down.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Why because they call it world football.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I have never heard soccer called world football before. I
- 3:32Speaker 2: heard soccer called football, or more to the point, football
- 3:36Speaker 2: if u t bol not the way they used to
- 3:38Speaker 2: spell it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, let's say whatever that is the Spanish spelling.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Okay, but that's how they spell it now. It's called
- 3:45Speaker 2: world football. Understands of field. We have American football, We've
- 3:49Speaker 2: got Canadian football. We have a thing called Australian rules football.
- 3:53Speaker 2: They even have a thing called Irish football. And these
- 3:56Speaker 2: are all different forms of football exactly. Okay. Now, all
- 4:00Speaker 2: of a sudden, I'm supposed to look at these guys
- 4:02Speaker 2: kicking a soccer ball up and down a field and
- 4:04Speaker 2: say that's world football. I take that. I can't say
- 4:08Speaker 2: I take it really personally, but I mean, I've given
- 4:11Speaker 2: my life to football. American football, which I think is
- 4:15Speaker 2: a superior game, and now it's superseded by world football.
- 4:19Speaker 2: These guys running around with the with the with the
- 4:22Speaker 2: you know, with the round ball. So don't I don't
- 4:25Speaker 2: call it that, and I don't acknowledge people to do.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Okay, we're talking to coach running Dos. You're here from
- 4:29Speaker 1: Bellmore Academy. Coach is a head coach there. You're not
- 4:32Speaker 1: coaching football.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Anymore, right, not as of today, but as we the
- 4:36Speaker 2: season approaches us, the twenty twenty sixth season, coach moron
- 4:41Speaker 2: is you know it's it's not looking too good.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Okay, Well, I don't want to be talking about the
- 4:45Speaker 1: guy's job.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Well I don't either, but I may, you know, slip
- 4:49Speaker 2: into that. I might slip the slide into that saddle.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Slide into the saddle.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah damn, Oh my god. So you think that's filthy.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Huh No, he doesn't. He's just being an asshole, dickman.
- 5:00Speaker 2: What I said, Oh, you don't.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Have to explain it, coach. Okay, no, but no, I
- 5:03Speaker 1: want to dickman.
- 5:04Speaker 2: When I said slide into the saddle, I'm talking about
- 5:07Speaker 2: a saddle and a horse, not something some guys where.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Okay, Coach Vernon Dozer with us, kay say anything about it?
- 5:16Speaker 2: Well, your boys cracked. You just went I did say anything.
- 5:19Speaker 1: No, I did not. I said I didn't, and then
- 5:20Speaker 1: I went back to the little voice. Okay, guys, let's
- 5:23Speaker 1: get back to what we're talking about here. We have
- 5:24Speaker 1: coach Vernon Dozer. I'm not putty, sorry, pill Okay, and
- 5:27Speaker 1: we're talking about coach Doser. You may be returning his
- 5:30Speaker 1: head football coach at Bilmore Academy in the fall. That
- 5:32Speaker 1: I'm sure will be good news for a lot of people,
- 5:34Speaker 1: because I know that Bill Maher has been struggling.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, they've they've struggled the last few years. I don't
- 5:39Speaker 2: know what we have to do. Maybe it gets heavier
- 5:42Speaker 2: under recruitment coming out of some of these grade schools
- 5:44Speaker 2: and grammar school. This kind of thing, some of these
- 5:47Speaker 2: The other thing is a lot of these football players,
- 5:50Speaker 2: you know, for whatever reason, they get held back. So
- 5:52Speaker 2: you got guys that are freshmen or sophomores and they're
- 5:55Speaker 2: almost twenty years old.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And they're kidding me.
- 5:58Speaker 2: No, I'm not kidding you. I'm not kidding here.
- 6:01Speaker 4: You're saying that these men are held back so much
- 6:03Speaker 4: that they're almost they're twenty and they're still sophomores.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yes, so I'm saying, well, all right, let's take advantage
- 6:09Speaker 2: of that. Let's recruit them, bring them over to Bill
- 6:10Speaker 2: Maher Academy, and we'll get them some tutoring help, and
- 6:15Speaker 2: they can get their diploma high school diploma by the
- 6:17Speaker 2: time they turned twenty one to twenty two, and which
- 6:20Speaker 2: you've got the benefit of their football expertise.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Well, hold on for a minute, because this is really weird.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You're saying, what do you mean weird?
- 6:26Speaker 2: This is this is happening in our school.
- 6:28Speaker 1: No, no, no, But you're saying to me and to
- 6:30Speaker 1: everybody here, there's guys out there in high school football
- 6:33Speaker 1: who are twenty twenty years of age. That's right, because
- 6:37Speaker 1: they're so dumb. I shouldn't say they're so dumb. But
- 6:39Speaker 1: they've been held back.
- 6:39Speaker 2: They've been held back multiple times. Yeah. So they were
- 6:42Speaker 2: fifteen when they were softbore, they were held back, They're seventeen,
- 6:45Speaker 2: held back again, they're eighteen, held back a third time,
- 6:48Speaker 2: they're nineteen now they're held back at fourth time, and
- 6:50Speaker 2: they're twenty.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Well, isn't there some you know, a limit to that?
- 6:54Speaker 4: There has to be something coach where the school is
- 6:57Speaker 4: prohibited from doing that.
- 6:58Speaker 2: No, not that I know of the private school. And
- 7:01Speaker 2: I'm a coach at a private school. Okay, and they
- 7:04Speaker 2: can do you know, they do pretty much what you know,
- 7:07Speaker 2: Private schools, especially private caffic schools, do whatever the hell
- 7:11Speaker 2: they want. You're just gonna have to accept them as great.
- 7:13Speaker 2: They do anything that they want to do.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You don't sound like you're digging that too much. Yeah,
- 7:20Speaker 1: you sound like you might be in disproving.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I don't like the idea of a school saying okay today,
- 7:26Speaker 2: we're just going to do anything we want.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Coach Vernon Dozer is with us. You're right, Yeah, we're
- 7:34Speaker 1: talking with the coach Dozer here about Belmar Academy, the
- 7:37Speaker 1: football program, but more importantly about the idea of world football,
- 7:40Speaker 1: something that you find offensive I do, and that you
- 7:44Speaker 1: know there's American football, there's you know, Irish football, and that. Well,
- 7:48Speaker 1: so what do you call football that they're playing in
- 7:49Speaker 1: the World Cup?
- 7:50Speaker 2: I call that soccer. Now, I know most countries don't.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Most countries call it football. Are I still call it football? Right?
- 7:55Speaker 1: So if somebody said I'm going to the football game today,
- 7:58Speaker 1: what would you think they're going to American football game. Okay,
- 8:01Speaker 1: So how do they tell you that they're going to
- 8:04Speaker 1: a World football I shouldn't use the term to want
- 8:05Speaker 1: me to use soccer?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yeah, use soccer.
- 8:07Speaker 1: How do they tell you they're going to a football game?
- 8:10Speaker 2: You mean a soccer game? Yeah? They should say, hey,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm going I know you're This is what they should say.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I know you're going to a football game, coach, but
- 8:18Speaker 2: I'm going to a football game. Now.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I know that sounds stupid, but I would understand that
- 8:23Speaker 1: much better than if they said I'm going you're going
- 8:26Speaker 1: to a football game, coach, I'm going to world football,
- 8:28Speaker 1: because then I'm thinking they're going to another planet or
- 8:32Speaker 1: so I don't understand.
- 8:33Speaker 2: What that means.
- 8:33Speaker 1: What do you think they're saying when they say.
- 8:35Speaker 2: They're going to when they say they're going to world football?
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yeah, when people say I'm going to go to a
- 8:38Speaker 1: world football game, what do you think?
- 8:40Speaker 2: Well, I know now what they mean. But back when
- 8:42Speaker 2: they started saying that, they say I'm going to a
- 8:45Speaker 2: world football game, and I think are they are they
- 8:49Speaker 2: talking about being on another world or in their mind?
- 8:53Speaker 2: In their mind they've got they're going, They've gone to
- 8:56Speaker 2: another planet to watch a football game, some kind and
- 8:59Speaker 2: what kind of football game I didn't know. I assumed
- 9:02Speaker 2: American football.
- 9:03Speaker 1: And when they told you that world football was soccer,
- 9:05Speaker 1: what did you say?
- 9:07Speaker 2: I said, Well, that's when I put the books down.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I said, okay, now that you know what, get out.
- 9:10Speaker 2: There were three of them saying, hey, coach, here's what
- 9:13Speaker 2: it is. World football is soccer. I said, get out.
- 9:16Speaker 2: They were in my classroom, my opponents that do one.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I said, all three of you, get out.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Coach Vernon Dozer is my special guest. You're in the
- 9:24Speaker 1: world famous Phil Henry show as we talk about world
- 9:26Speaker 1: football versus football versus you know. Okay. So also, also,
- 9:33Speaker 1: we're gonna have Jack Armstrong on with us here, Jack
- 9:36Speaker 1: arms ny six Okay. I had no idea. The guy
- 9:40Speaker 1: was ready to go.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It was just film.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Jack Armstrong is our sports commentator.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Oh this is the guy that doesn't know anything about anything.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yes he does, he's learning as he goes.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fine.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Hey Jack, how you doing? Jack?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Hey?
- 9:54Speaker 5: Bill is Jackson Armstrong and coach does are a big
- 9:57Speaker 5: admirer of everything that.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You've done and everything you're going to do. But thank you.
- 10:02Speaker 2: How do you know what I'm going to do? I
- 10:03Speaker 2: think you're going to be successful. Noventer what?
- 10:05Speaker 1: Okay? So Jack, we have coach Dozer here who has
- 10:08Speaker 1: a problem with calling it world football. He'd rather be
- 10:11Speaker 1: called just football. He doesn't want to have to call
- 10:14Speaker 1: it soccer because.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Soccer, you know, is a complete the insult to the
- 10:18Speaker 2: people that are playing it. Well, I understand that. And
- 10:21Speaker 2: are you from another country? No, I go for God damn,
- 10:24Speaker 2: I come from North Dakota. Okay, all right, I'm not
- 10:27Speaker 2: from Angria.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I don't think you and I've met Jack is from
- 10:29Speaker 1: North Dakota.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Okay, So do everybody in North Dakota talk like you? Yes,
- 10:33Speaker 2: there's a lot.
- 10:33Speaker 5: There's a German, Norwegian Scandinavian population up there.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Did they just arrive?
- 10:40Speaker 1: I know these are descendants of people. There's an accent
- 10:42Speaker 1: that they have in that area. You know that sounds
- 10:45Speaker 1: a bit European because the people who are living there
- 10:48Speaker 1: were descended from European sounding people.
- 10:51Speaker 2: All right, well how come my questions? Shouttled me to
- 10:53Speaker 2: get jager Phil But why haven't they assimilated?
- 10:56Speaker 5: We assimilated very good. I mean you, I'm sure you've
- 10:59Speaker 5: Seenawrence Welk. Have you seen the Lawrence Welk Show. Yeah, okay,
- 11:03Speaker 5: he assimilated pretty good.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And he had the accent. Likely everybody do. He had
- 11:09Speaker 2: the accent, like everybody do. I don't understand film. I
- 11:12Speaker 2: remember Lawrence Welk. Okay, he was a dance band leader
- 11:15Speaker 2: or something like that. Yeah, okay, didn't he And you're
- 11:19Speaker 2: telling me he came from America? Yes, he come from America. Well,
- 11:22Speaker 2: let's see this. This is this is what I'm talking about, Phil,
- 11:25Speaker 2: This is stuff I had no idea. I had no idea.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Are you okay?
- 11:33Speaker 2: I'm fine. It's just there's a lot of pressure that
- 11:34Speaker 2: I'm feeling today. Well, look at coach.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Let me say something to you. I went out, I
- 11:39Speaker 5: have covered the World Cup for the Phil Henry Show.
- 11:41Speaker 5: And I heard you say that it's the World football.
- 11:44Speaker 5: You don't know, you don't know, you don't know, And
- 11:47Speaker 5: I can agree with you. When they say, hey, we
- 11:49Speaker 5: are going to play some world football. Is say just
- 11:51Speaker 5: say you're going to.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Play football, and well, how do they differentiate between that?
- 11:56Speaker 2: Mister Henry's ask, how do you differentiate between that and
- 11:58Speaker 2: like American football guys is in short pants? Are you kidding? Okay,
- 12:03Speaker 2: So because he's wearing short pants and carry around ball
- 12:06Speaker 2: and he's.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Going to say I'm gonna play football and I know what
- 12:07Speaker 5: he's doing.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Well, what if he's not in short pants?
- 12:10Speaker 2: What do you mean? What if he's not in short pants?
- 12:12Speaker 1: If the guy says I'm gonna go play football today
- 12:15Speaker 1: and he's wearing a suit. If he says he's going
- 12:18Speaker 1: to play football today and he's wearing a suit, I
- 12:20Speaker 1: have to assume. I have to assume that he's a liar,
- 12:24Speaker 1: that he's I don't know that he might be mentally
- 12:26Speaker 1: oh something like that. Okay, so do you think a
- 12:29Speaker 1: guy wearing a suit?
- 12:30Speaker 2: I coach, I'm on your side on this one.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Yeah. But you know what Jack, we're trying to figure out.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Coach does is having a problem with world football. You
- 12:36Speaker 1: find it condescending, right, Coach.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I find me having to call it world football when
- 12:41Speaker 2: I've coached American football for all these years and we've
- 12:45Speaker 2: got something called the Super Bowl. Now, they can talk
- 12:48Speaker 2: all they want about the World Cup and that's nice,
- 12:51Speaker 2: but hey, we got something called the super Bowl, super Bowl,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and it's big, and it's huge, you know, I know,
- 12:59Speaker 2: it's as big as the World Cup.
- 13:01Speaker 4: The World Cup gets country the fans from all over
- 13:02Speaker 4: the world, Coach, fans by the thousands, by the tens
- 13:05Speaker 4: of thousands, by the millions coming to.
- 13:08Speaker 1: The World Cup. What do you mean the millions, Well,
- 13:10Speaker 1: you know, when you finally add it all up, it's
- 13:12Speaker 1: probably several million people to make the trip.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Oh my, coach, this is the reality of the world
- 13:19Speaker 4: and sport that world football or soccer, whatever you want
- 13:23Speaker 4: to call it, is very popular.
- 13:24Speaker 2: All right, So I'm okay.
- 13:26Speaker 5: So the whole idea, coach, that the world football is
- 13:31Speaker 5: not trying to demean American football is American football, but
- 13:34Speaker 5: he's never going to be world football.
- 13:35Speaker 2: World football is going to be the world football, and
- 13:38Speaker 2: American football is going to be to be to be
- 13:41Speaker 2: the American football. Okay. See you even talking that way
- 13:45Speaker 2: with the accent from North Dakota talking about world you're
- 13:48Speaker 2: going you sound like you're gagging up. Okay, I'm not
- 13:52Speaker 2: gagging up. I'm trying to tell you what's up.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Okay, all right, coach, we're talking here with coach Vernondozer. Coach,
- 13:59Speaker 1: tell me about preparing for the season of football, what
- 14:02Speaker 1: we call American football, and do you have to specify
- 14:05Speaker 1: with people. That's what you do specified people. What do
- 14:08Speaker 1: you tell people you have the coach of an American
- 14:10Speaker 1: football team.
- 14:11Speaker 2: No, I don't. I tell people I'm the coach of
- 14:14Speaker 2: a football team and everybody and their mother knows it.
- 14:18Speaker 2: When you say this to me, I'm coaching a world
- 14:21Speaker 2: football team, I'm thinking that there's something wrong with you.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Or when you say world football, it sounds to me
- 14:29Speaker 2: like they're they hallucinated being on another planet and they're
- 14:34Speaker 2: coaching like a soccer team on another planet.
- 14:36Speaker 1: All right, well, now you know what world football means.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I know what world football means. It means that a
- 14:41Speaker 2: bunch of these people got together and said this is
- 14:43Speaker 2: the official football game of the world. And I find
- 14:46Speaker 2: that offensive. I find that demeaning, especially since I gave.
- 14:50Speaker 1: My life coach what we have?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Wait? Whoa wait, wait, I gave my life.
- 15:00Speaker 1: We've got a lot of people. Yesterday, we had whoever
- 15:03Speaker 1: it was that was breaking down on the show yesterday,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and now you're doing a coach.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I'm not breaking down. I'm just angry.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, but you're doing my life. Sound like you're sobbing.
- 15:11Speaker 2: No, I'm not sobbing. When I say I gave it
- 15:14Speaker 2: my life. I'm not crying. I've got anger behind my words.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And those words are I coach football?
- 15:23Speaker 1: Okay, you coach. What if I came up to you
- 15:25Speaker 1: said hi, coach, you're a football coach?
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and I would say yeah, and I said.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Well that's great. I'm a world football coach, I'd say you're.
- 15:32Speaker 2: A you if i'd say you come from another planet? Okay,
- 15:37Speaker 2: because if you have to say you coach world football,
- 15:40Speaker 2: that means you're identifying by football is played on a world.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Where's your football played? Yeah?
- 15:47Speaker 1: That's what I would ask you. Yeah, well, okay, my
- 15:50Speaker 1: football comes from a world. That's where I Where's your
- 15:53Speaker 1: football played on planet Earth?
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:56Speaker 1: That's that's a world. No, that's a planet Earth. Where
- 15:58Speaker 1: you come from? Man, I don't even want to know.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I don't even want.
- 16:01Speaker 2: To know if you tell me you coach world football,
- 16:04Speaker 2: I don't even want to know you or know where
- 16:07Speaker 2: you come from. And this is something I think we
- 16:10Speaker 2: need to tell our young people because they're getting approached
- 16:12Speaker 2: by these soccer coaches and they're saying, yeah, do you
- 16:14Speaker 2: want to play World football? And the kid is suddenly
- 16:16Speaker 2: frightened because he thinks he's going to be playing soccer
- 16:20Speaker 2: or football on another.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Word, some kind of a Oh, I don't think so
- 16:24Speaker 1: at all, coach, I don't think so at all. You
- 16:26Speaker 1: don't No, I don't, of course not. You don't play
- 16:29Speaker 1: world football. Okay, what does that mean? It means that
- 16:31Speaker 1: you're playing a kind of a soccer or football that
- 16:34Speaker 1: the whole world plays.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Do you know that they have? I think that's just
- 16:38Speaker 2: a whole bunch of excuse me for saying this, Phil,
- 16:41Speaker 2: I think it's a whole bunch of bullshit.
- 16:43Speaker 1: That every coach vernon doze. You're losing it here toward
- 16:46Speaker 1: the tail end of the bit here on the world
- 16:48Speaker 1: famous Phil Henry Show. What is going on with him?
- 16:51Speaker 3: Yeah, all of a sudden, he's just saying that the
- 16:53Speaker 3: whole thing is getting away from him. What they call everything.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Oh, that's a bunch of bullshit. Man, have been calling
- 17:00Speaker 1: it world football for a long time.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I think he's nervous about taking over the coaching duties
- 17:04Speaker 4: there at Bell Maar.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I think he knows he.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Needs to get a winning program going, and I think
- 17:09Speaker 4: he's looking for respect for the American football game, and
- 17:12Speaker 4: he's taking it way too personally that they call it
- 17:15Speaker 4: World Football.
- 17:16Speaker 1: That's right, there is what I think. Okay, Coming up next,
- 17:20Speaker 1: we've got coach, not coach, we got chef Carlchadilia, right,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but yees.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Chef Carlchidilia, who is on these very airwaves one year ago,
- 17:28Speaker 3: is back and he's questioning. He's got some serious concerns
- 17:31Speaker 3: about Ted Bell and the Ted and and and and
- 17:34Speaker 3: you know and Ted Bell, serious questions.
- 17:37Speaker 1: About what I think. He's questioning his emotional health.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Right, yeah, he believes that Ted Bell is.
- 17:42Speaker 1: He maybe you know, he may be insane. Get out
- 17:45Speaker 1: of here.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Well, he's just he doesn't he doesn't trust what he's doing.
- 17:49Speaker 1: All right, we'll be right back. We've got Ted Bell.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Excuse me, we got yeah, we got Ted Bell. We
- 17:53Speaker 1: got coach Vernond Dosh. Excuse me. We have Chef Carlchadilia.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Next on the world famous Phil Here Show, Randy Hanson
- 18:00Speaker 1: Here for Randy Hanson's Indoor Plumbing and Randy Hanson's outdoor Plumbing.
- 18:03Speaker 1: We are the only plumbing business in the southern California
- 18:05Speaker 1: area that puts up out houses just as fast as
- 18:08Speaker 1: we put that indoor plumbing into. If you want to
- 18:10Speaker 1: go outside as opposed inside, you call Randy Hanson, Randy Henson,
- 18:13Speaker 1: for thirty five years building out houses, building out houses
- 18:16Speaker 1: up one side and down the next. You haven't been
- 18:18Speaker 1: outside till you've been inside, oh, Randy Henson. Outhouse indoor plumbing,
- 18:22Speaker 1: outdoor plumbing, outdoor plumbing, indoor plumbing doesn't matter to us.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Call us Randy Hanson, Randy Henson. We're online and in jail.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Well the back world famous spill every show here from
- 18:35Speaker 1: the old Ted Bell Canyon here in the Sierra Madri
- 18:39Speaker 1: Canyon overlook the great city of Los Angeles. I know
- 18:42Speaker 1: I said I was going to use that, so there
- 18:44Speaker 1: you are, but I am. We do have with a
- 18:47Speaker 1: chef Carl chadilli. We want to thank first of all
- 18:49Speaker 1: Ted Bell for being with us on the show last hour,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and we hope that things get worked out for you,
- 18:55Speaker 1: Ted Chef Carl Chadillia, on the line from his home
- 18:58Speaker 1: in Beverly Hills, California, Chef, are you Phil? And it
- 19:02Speaker 1: sounds like you're enjoying the touch.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I really as I'm let me set it up here
- 19:06Speaker 2: and so now I'm naked from the waist down. Sorry,
- 19:09Speaker 2: believe well, give me a towel, so I'm pretty Yeah,
- 19:12Speaker 2: that's right. Now he's leaving the room.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Great, So who's that some guy?
- 19:16Speaker 2: I got work in the tower, just working in the
- 19:18Speaker 2: towels here in my bathroom. But I got up without
- 19:21Speaker 2: putting anything on, and I got a big fat you know,
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm fat, and the kid gets scared, so I'll have
- 19:27Speaker 2: to get the tow get it for myself. But what
- 19:29Speaker 2: I'm saying to you, Phil, and what I'm saying what
- 19:31Speaker 2: I said to Budd and I said to a lot
- 19:33Speaker 2: of people, is that I am working very hard at
- 19:37Speaker 2: Ted's of Beverly Hills, and Ted is increasingly becoming bizarre.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And some of the things he's saying. I mean, you
- 19:45Speaker 2: talked to him recently about the about the kid farting
- 19:50Speaker 2: into the seat of the car and devalue anything like that.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Now that that was a show that was a repeat
- 19:57Speaker 1: from like over twenty years ago.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Well, to tell you something, Ted Bell, the Ted Bell,
- 20:02Speaker 2: I know, and you know I've been working for ten
- 20:04Speaker 2: for about five ten years.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, all right.
- 20:07Speaker 2: This is a guy who will say things like do
- 20:11Speaker 2: you think I said? This is a guy who will
- 20:14Speaker 2: scour pictures of himself and if there's any food between
- 20:18Speaker 2: his teeth. This is a guy.
- 20:20Speaker 1: He's scouring pictures of himself looking for what woods of spinets.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Or any food between his front teeth. This is a
- 20:26Speaker 2: guy who is spreading over Donald Trump visiting the restaurant
- 20:33Speaker 2: because he realizes that Trump is not popular and it
- 20:36Speaker 2: may tank business.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Well, he knows Donald Trump, right, yes he does.
- 20:39Speaker 2: But I mean, I alas have heard anybody say that
- 20:41Speaker 2: Donald Trump is going to be visiting Ted's Beverly Hills
- 20:44Speaker 2: this time soon?
- 20:44Speaker 1: All right, But I mean, don't you think that's a
- 20:46Speaker 1: fair fear if he believes that President Trump has got
- 20:51Speaker 1: such a negative favorability that when he comes to the
- 20:54Speaker 1: restaurant it's going to tank business. Don't you think that's
- 20:56Speaker 1: a concern.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I think talking about it is worse. You've got people
- 21:00Speaker 2: come to the restaurant all the time that may or
- 21:01Speaker 2: may not be fans of President Trump's. And there's Ted
- 21:04Speaker 2: Bell saying I HAE had the door open in his office,
- 21:07Speaker 2: and I could hear him saying, God, Almighty, God, Almighty.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I hear Trump wants to come visit again with what's
- 21:14Speaker 2: her name? He said, what's your name about the first lady?
- 21:16Speaker 2: And I took my head and I said, what do
- 21:19Speaker 2: you mean? By what's your name? And he said you
- 21:20Speaker 2: know what that? He said, whatever that is from Eastern Europe?
- 21:23Speaker 2: I said, are you're talking about Mamania Trump? And he
- 21:25Speaker 2: looked at me like he said, what did you mind
- 21:27Speaker 2: your own business? Fatsol?
- 21:29Speaker 4: And I'm I said, okay, Well, seriously, though, a chef Jdli,
- 21:32Speaker 4: why were you sticking your nose in the door like that?
- 21:35Speaker 2: Oh my god, because I heard the guy talking about
- 21:38Speaker 2: he didn't want this so called pin in the asked Trump,
- 21:40Speaker 2: And he didn't want that thing from Eastern Europe. I mean,
- 21:44Speaker 2: I want to know what he was talking about.
- 21:45Speaker 1: All Right, we're talking here with Chef Carl Chidelia about
- 21:48Speaker 1: Ted Bell and the pressure he's under.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Now.
- 21:49Speaker 1: He was on a repeat show we did today. It's
- 21:53Speaker 1: part of our radio archive Power, but it's a show
- 21:57Speaker 1: from twenty twenty or excuse me, a show from twenty
- 21:59Speaker 1: two thousand and two.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Well, which is it filled twenty twenty two thousand and
- 22:02Speaker 2: two or two?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Because that's what you two thousand and two is what
- 22:05Speaker 1: I said. All right, So what are you saying?
- 22:08Speaker 2: I'm saying that Ted Bell is having problems. I think
- 22:12Speaker 2: he's having some emotional problems. I heard Marci called me
- 22:17Speaker 2: his wife and said that he had stormed out of
- 22:20Speaker 2: the house in a tress shirt, his regular dress, shoes, socks, underwear,
- 22:26Speaker 2: no pants.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Oh, wohilch You guys, come on, okay.
- 22:29Speaker 2: You think I'm shutting?
- 22:30Speaker 1: Yes I do. This is a standard joke. You guys
- 22:32Speaker 1: always in the guy with no pants.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You think you want to talk to Marci?
- 22:36Speaker 1: Well, how do I know she's not kidding?
- 22:38Speaker 2: That's his wife, all right. She said that this guy
- 22:43Speaker 2: came out of the house, she had to stop him
- 22:45Speaker 2: and turn him around. That he was walking to his
- 22:47Speaker 2: car with Polly a shirt, hard shoes, socks, he was
- 22:52Speaker 2: wearing his wristwatch, no underwear, no pants.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I refuse to believe it.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Well, it sounds funny, but that's what's going on.
- 23:00Speaker 1: What what are you attributing this to? He's losing his mind.
- 23:03Speaker 2: I'm thinking the guys has worked his lay. I think
- 23:06Speaker 2: he's worked too hard in this restaurant. I think too
- 23:09Speaker 2: many strange things. And by the way, Phil, I don't
- 23:11Speaker 2: really think it's healthy for you to repeat old shows.
- 23:13Speaker 2: I think he heard those and he thinks he's losing
- 23:15Speaker 2: his mind. I think that there's been too much to
- 23:18Speaker 2: keep track of it, and now with someone that he
- 23:20Speaker 2: knew socially, only Donald Trump, who's not President of the
- 23:23Speaker 2: United States. And they say, hey, why do I go
- 23:25Speaker 2: and visit Ted Bell? How do you tell the president? No, don't.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I don't want you to here. It's tough.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Well what do you say?
- 23:32Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you what he said. He called the
- 23:33Speaker 2: White House, he's supposed to the appointment secretary there, I
- 23:36Speaker 2: don't where it was. And he said, you got to
- 23:37Speaker 2: tell the President to stay keep him away, please, And
- 23:41Speaker 2: he tried to say it as respectful as he could.
- 23:43Speaker 2: He said, please tell President Trump to stay away from me,
- 23:47Speaker 2: stay away from me and everything that I am signed Ted.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Bell and everything that I am.
- 23:54Speaker 2: That's why I pick He's mutch.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Well that sounds like he's losing his mind.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yet, Well, that's what I'm saying. Well, how do you
- 23:58Speaker 2: know he said that, because that's what Grace you overheard.
- 24:03Speaker 1: His secretary, Yeah, she overheard him saying, please tell President
- 24:07Speaker 1: Trump to stay away, just stay away from me.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Something like that. Yeah, just keep away from me. Just
- 24:15Speaker 2: let's just pretend like we never met. You got to
- 24:18Speaker 2: do that for me, President Trump. I do it for you,
- 24:21Speaker 2: although me knowing you is probably way better for you
- 24:25Speaker 2: than you knowing me. Thank you, Ted Bell.
- 24:28Speaker 1: How much of this stuff did she hear? This sounds
- 24:31Speaker 1: like she's starting to make things up.
- 24:32Speaker 2: No, I asked her. I said, well, what she said?
- 24:35Speaker 2: That Bell called the White House? He said, would you
- 24:37Speaker 2: please tell the preface is Ted Bell, stay away from
- 24:40Speaker 2: me and every swinging dick near me. That's how he
- 24:43Speaker 2: put it.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, he's nuts, That's what I'm telling you, and
- 24:47Speaker 1: every swinging dick near me.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:51Speaker 1: So what do you propose?
- 24:52Speaker 2: What I propose basically is that I, you know, we
- 24:55Speaker 2: takes the rested, it takes a sabbatical. I can manage
- 24:58Speaker 2: the restaurant. We can bring in and Toby Cullen, who's
- 25:02Speaker 2: a great executive chef. Where you can bring in the
- 25:06Speaker 2: muchI brothers who are great chefs in their own right.
- 25:09Speaker 2: We can really do some great stuff. And Ted just
- 25:11Speaker 2: go home and rest. Barcy said, he can sit. There's
- 25:14Speaker 2: a little room that they keep him and he can
- 25:15Speaker 2: sit in that room.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And what do you mean a little room they keep
- 25:18Speaker 1: him in.
- 25:18Speaker 2: He doesn't like going under the pool, he doesn't like
- 25:20Speaker 2: going outside. He wants to sit in the room where
- 25:23Speaker 2: he just stares at the walls.
- 25:24Speaker 1: How do you know this?
- 25:26Speaker 2: Because I've seen him do it and Marcy was telling
- 25:27Speaker 2: me about it. Why do you think, Phil, Do you
- 25:29Speaker 2: think I'm blind to you?
- 25:30Speaker 1: I'm just trying to you know. Is this guy. I
- 25:34Speaker 1: just wonder if he's being if you guys are trying
- 25:36Speaker 1: to do something to him, like what, I don't know,
- 25:38Speaker 1: like you're trying to pretend he's crazy that he is
- 25:40Speaker 1: to take over the business.
- 25:41Speaker 2: You want to talk to him, and he can talk
- 25:42Speaker 2: to him anytime, call him up.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Okay, are you telling him the stuff that you guys
- 25:46Speaker 1: are planning?
- 25:47Speaker 2: What are we planning?
- 25:49Speaker 1: Did you want to take over the restaurant?
- 25:52Speaker 2: We're saying to him, Ted, take it easy, Go back
- 25:54Speaker 2: to the little room, stare at the walls. The thing
- 25:57Speaker 2: that he loves more than anything in this world is
- 25:59Speaker 2: staring at four walls, empty walls, and the room is
- 26:02Speaker 2: only about three point three. It's like a it's like
- 26:06Speaker 2: a coat closet.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And he likes sitting in that room.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yes, and I said, go back to your little room
- 26:11Speaker 2: and all manage the restaurant for how long? You know?
- 26:14Speaker 2: It was just a few weeks? All right? Well, oh boy,
- 26:19Speaker 2: listen to euro Man. You want me to get here. Boy,
- 26:27Speaker 2: you got Toby Toby swantson Toby Swanson's here, Phil, one
- 26:30Speaker 2: of the partners, Heytoby.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Mister Henry. This is important that Ted knows that people
- 26:37Speaker 6: love him and that are supporting him, and that we
- 26:40Speaker 6: want him to get better and better and better and better.
- 26:43Speaker 6: And when President Trump called and said he wanted to
- 26:45Speaker 6: come and had dinner, we could see him slump physically,
- 26:49Speaker 6: and he said, you got to tell him, get get
- 26:51Speaker 6: away from me, get far away.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I had a lot more to say. You have the.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Phone, so, uh, boy, so you're you're running the show now, huh?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Chef, Oh, let me have the phone. Well, he talks
- 27:05Speaker 2: too much about it.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Chef Carl Chadillia and what they have planned for Ted Bell,
- 27:09Speaker 1: which is to basically take the restaurant away from him.
- 27:11Speaker 2: No, Phil, No, this is just to manage it so
- 27:14Speaker 2: he can rest.
- 27:15Speaker 1: In a little room that's as big as a closet
- 27:18Speaker 1: where he stares at the walls. Fuck too, hey, chef, Hey, chef,
- 27:29Speaker 1: he's not going to pick the phone up. Chef, all right, goodbye,
- 27:35Speaker 1: he came back. I know he came back. Well, guess
- 27:37Speaker 1: what I just hung up on him. We got to
- 27:40Speaker 1: get to the bottom of this. One man, that chef
- 27:41Speaker 1: Chidilly sounds to me like he's planning a coups de tat,
- 27:44Speaker 1: you know, let's not get too fancy. Well that's what
- 27:46Speaker 1: it sounds like. Ted Bell took a call from the
- 27:50Speaker 1: White House. They said the President would like to come
- 27:52Speaker 1: and have dinner at Ted's Beverly Hills, and he said,
- 27:53Speaker 1: keep him as far away from me as he can.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I like him, he's my friend, but not with this
- 27:57Speaker 1: popularity that he has, we can't have him around here.
- 28:00Speaker 3: It's not the first time he said it, though. He
- 28:01Speaker 3: President Trump was gonna visit that one time. He said, yeah,
- 28:04Speaker 3: you gotta stay away.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Yeah. But now the guy's like, uh, I don't know.
- 28:08Speaker 1: He's sitting in a small room. He's uh, we'll be back.
- 28:13Speaker 1: We'll cover more of this as the days in the
- 28:14Speaker 1: weeks proceed, Ladies, gentleman, thank you so much. Real Famous
