- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're picking up where he
- 0:06Speaker 1: left off with the Jess Daly transcript from his trip
- 0:09Speaker 1: to Congress. Question, in the email you write, quote, I
- 0:13Speaker 1: realized the danger in sending this email, but it was
- 0:16Speaker 1: great to be able today to give you in New
- 0:18Speaker 1: York City a long heartfelt hug. To my friend, thanks Jess.
- 0:23Speaker 1: When you wrote, quote, I realized the danger in sending
- 0:26Speaker 1: this email, what did you mean by that? Answer, again,
- 0:29Speaker 1: maintaining a relationship with a convicted felon was a dangerous
- 0:32Speaker 1: thing to do, and in hindsight, I regret it. Question,
- 0:36Speaker 1: so you weren't referring to all him violating his house
- 0:39Speaker 1: arrest by being in New York? Answer, no, I think
- 0:42Speaker 1: he was in New York under house arrest. Question, were
- 0:46Speaker 1: you ever aware of him violating the terms of his
- 0:48Speaker 1: house arrest? Answer, I was not. Question, okay, thank you.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I have a few more questions for you about visits
- 0:55Speaker 1: to Mr. Epstein's properties and a few clarifications. You said
- 0:59Speaker 1: earlier that you never went to Mr. Epstein's Palm Beach home.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Is that correct? Answer, correct. Question, you said earlier that
- 1:06Speaker 1: you went to Mr. Epstein's ranch in New Mexico once, correct? Answer, correct. Question,
- 1:11Speaker 1: did you spend the night? Answer, no. Question, so you
- 1:14Speaker 1: were in Albuquerque for, I think you said a business meeting, correct? Answer, yes. Question,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and then you drive to the ranch? Answer, I had
- 1:21Speaker 1: a driver drive me to the ranch. Question, and I
- 1:24Speaker 1: think you said it was about an hour? Answer, I
- 1:27Speaker 1: think so. Question, so you had someone drive you to
- 1:29Speaker 1: the ranch. That's about an hour. And then you said
- 1:32Speaker 1: you went horseback riding too. Took a shower and then
- 1:35Speaker 1: you went to the hot tub. And then you had
- 1:37Speaker 1: someone drive you back somewhere else that evening. Answer, the
- 1:41Speaker 1: same driver who drove me to the airport and I
- 1:43Speaker 1: flew home. Question, how many hours would you say you
- 1:46Speaker 1: spent at Zorro Ranch? Answer, an hour, maybe an hour,
- 1:50Speaker 1: hour and a half. Question, so it was an hour
- 1:53Speaker 1: of travel time each way and an hour to an
- 1:55Speaker 1: hour and a half at the ranch. Answer right. Question,
- 1:59Speaker 1: that's a lot of travel time for very little time
- 2:01Speaker 1: spent at the ranch. Answer, for a whole day? No,
- 2:04Speaker 1: an hour again. It was described to me as the
- 2:07Speaker 1: largest ranch in New Mexico. I had the time. Didn't
- 2:10Speaker 1: seem that special. Question, I would like to introduce as
- 2:13Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit AE an email between Leslie Groff and Mr.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Epstein from October 30th, 2009. Bates number is EFTA 02434380. Question,
- 2:27Speaker 1: in the email, Ms. Groff writes, quote, Jeffrey just wanted
- 2:30Speaker 1: you to know that Jess is all set and organized
- 2:33Speaker 1: to stay at the ranch tomorrow night. Is your testimony
- 2:36Speaker 1: that you did not spend the night at the ranch? Answer, yes. Question,
- 2:41Speaker 1: why do you think Ms. Groff was under the impression
- 2:43Speaker 1: that you were going to spend the night? Answer, I
- 2:46Speaker 1: don't know. Question I would like to introduce as Minority
- 2:48Speaker 1: Exhibit AF, an email chain between you and Mr. Epstein
- 2:52Speaker 1: from October 18th and 19th, 2009. The bait's number is EFTA. 0-1-3-0-0-2-9-5. Question.
- 3:01Speaker 1: In the first email, Mr. Epstein writes, quote, London when?
- 3:04Speaker 1: And you respond, quote, Could I swing by your house
- 3:07Speaker 1: in London on the afternoon of the 27th? Answer. Yes. Question.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Did Mr. Epstein have a house in London? Answer. Yes. Question.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Where was it? Answer. I don't remember. Question. You have
- 3:18Speaker 1: no recollection. You spend a lot of time in London, correct? Answer. Yeah. Question.
- 3:23Speaker 1: But you have no recollection where his house in London was. Answer,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I never went to his house, but I think it
- 3:28Speaker 1: may have been on Mayfair, but I don't really know. Question,
- 3:32Speaker 1: do you remember if it was a standalone house or
- 3:34Speaker 1: a townhouse or an apartment? Answer, no. This says it's
- 3:37Speaker 1: a house, but I don't know. Question, are you aware
- 3:40Speaker 1: that Mr. Epstein had at least four flats in Kensington
- 3:43Speaker 1: and Chelsea that he used to house women that he trafficked? Answer, no. Question,
- 3:49Speaker 1: could you have been referring to those flats here? Answer,
- 3:52Speaker 1: I was referring to his house in London. Question, why
- 3:55Speaker 1: would you have wanted to swing by? Answer, because again,
- 3:59Speaker 1: I thought it was one of the larger houses in
- 4:01Speaker 1: London and it would be interesting to see. Question, in
- 4:05Speaker 1: all the years that you were friends with Mr. Epstein
- 4:08Speaker 1: and all the time you spent in London, you never
- 4:10Speaker 1: went to his house? Answer, no, because when I was...
- 4:14Speaker 1: He gets cut off. We're going to go off record.
- 4:17Speaker 1: They come back on. Mr. Ashworth, the majority does not
- 4:20Speaker 1: have any further questions at this time. I understand the
- 4:23Speaker 1: minority has a handful more questions that they're going to
- 4:26Speaker 1: go through and then we'll be finishing up. Thank you.
- 4:29Speaker 1: We'll go off the record. Oh, of course, the GOP
- 4:32Speaker 1: has nothing to ask daily, right? Bunch of clowns. Question.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I'd like to ask you some questions about Mr. Epstein's Island,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Little St. James. You said today that you went twice,
- 4:42Speaker 1: once in 2005 and once in 2015, correct? Answer. And
- 4:47Speaker 1: that I transited through it a third time. Question. And
- 4:50Speaker 1: what year was that? Answer, I don't recall. Question, okay,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit AG four flight
- 4:58Speaker 1: manifests from February 2005. These manifests indicate that you, your wife,
- 5:03Speaker 1: your two daughters, flew from JFK to the Virgin Islands
- 5:07Speaker 1: on Mr. Epstein's private plane on February 18, 2005. You
- 5:11Speaker 1: were joined by Mr. Epstein, Glenn Maxwell, and three young
- 5:15Speaker 1: women who work for Mr. Epstein, among other things. These
- 5:19Speaker 1: manifests also indicate that you, your wife, and your two
- 5:22Speaker 1: daughters flew from the Virgin Islands to Palm Beach on Mr.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Epstein's private plane on February 21, 2005. And at the
- 5:30Speaker 1: same time, three young women who worked for Mr. Epstein
- 5:33Speaker 1: accompanied you. Finally, there's a manifest showing you, your wife,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and your two daughters flying from Palm Beach to Teterboro,
- 5:40Speaker 1: New Jersey on Mr. Epstein's private plane on February 22, 2005.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We'll go off the record briefly to give you time
- 5:49Speaker 1: to review the manifest. Question. If you, your wife, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: your daughter flew to the Virgin Islands on February 18th
- 5:57Speaker 1: and then did not fly back until February 21st, did
- 6:00Speaker 1: you stay on Mr. Epstein's island between the 18th and
- 6:03Speaker 1: the 21st? Answer. I apologize. I don't see the name
- 6:06Speaker 1: of my family nor myself on the passenger manifest. Question. Sure.
- 6:11Speaker 1: The manifests are confusing. If you look at the first page,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you'll see the date of the flight is February 18th
- 6:17Speaker 1: and the trip number is 322. Answer. Right. Question. You
- 6:21Speaker 1: can see Mr. Epstein is the first passenger. He's listed
- 6:24Speaker 1: as number one. If you go down to number 12,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it says Jeff. It then says female guest. Female, female. Answer, yup. Question,
- 6:35Speaker 1: if you flip the next page, about halfway down the page.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Not quite. It says February 18th, 2005. Flight 322. James Daly,
- 6:44Speaker 1: Miss Daly, redacted and redacted. Answer, okay. Question, so what
- 6:49Speaker 1: we believe. because these are the same flights on the
- 6:51Speaker 1: same date, is that Jeff is a typo, and that
- 6:54Speaker 1: should say Jeff. Answer, right. Question, and that the three
- 6:58Speaker 1: female guests are your family members. Answer, okay. Question, so
- 7:02Speaker 1: did you and your family stay on Mr. Epstein's island
- 7:05Speaker 1: between February 18th and February 21st? Answer, as I said,
- 7:10Speaker 1: my wife and I visited the family and visited Epstein,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and this sort of confirms that. Question, so you stayed
- 7:18Speaker 1: on his island. Answer, on his island, yes. Question, from
- 7:21Speaker 1: the night of the 18th through the 21st? Staley, along
- 7:26Speaker 1: with the Dubins, yes. Question, that's different from what you
- 7:30Speaker 1: had testified to previously, correct? Answer, no. Why? How so? Question,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I believe you told the Financial Conduct Authority that you
- 7:37Speaker 1: spent a single night on Epstein's Island with your wife. Answer,
- 7:40Speaker 1: I thought it was a single night. But this implies
- 7:43Speaker 1: that it was two nights or three nights. Question. You
- 7:46Speaker 1: did testify before the Financial Conduct Authority that you recall,
- 7:50Speaker 1: this is according to their decision, that you recall visiting Mr.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Epstein's island with your wife and spending the night there
- 7:56Speaker 1: in 2005 or 2006. So it appears it was your
- 8:00Speaker 1: whole family and it was more than one night, correct? Answer.
- 8:04Speaker 1: It appears that way, yes. Question. It also appears that
- 8:07Speaker 1: the three young women who worked for Mr. Epstein also
- 8:10Speaker 1: stayed on the island with you because they were on
- 8:12Speaker 1: the flight there on the 18th and then They're on
- 8:15Speaker 1: the flight back on February 21st. Answer, yeah. I wouldn't
- 8:19Speaker 1: characterize Sarah Kellan as a young woman. I recognize Redacted.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't know who Redacted is. Question, did you and
- 8:26Speaker 1: your family socialize with these women? Answer, no. Question, did
- 8:30Speaker 1: you engage in sexual activity with these women? Answer, no. Question,
- 8:35Speaker 1: other than the people listed on the manifest in the
- 8:37Speaker 1: first page of the exhibit, was anyone else on the island? Answer,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't even know whether all these people were on
- 8:43Speaker 1: the island. I just remember my wife, my family, and
- 8:46Speaker 1: the Duvins were on the island. Question, and do you
- 8:50Speaker 1: remember anyone else on the island who wasn't necessarily on
- 8:53Speaker 1: the flight to the island? Answer, no, except for the
- 8:56Speaker 1: people that worked there. Question, the manifest show that you
- 8:59Speaker 1: fly from Virgin Islands to Palm Beach on February 21st
- 9:03Speaker 1: and then from Palm Beach to Teterboro on February 22nd.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So it appears that you also spent the night in
- 9:09Speaker 1: Palm Beach. Is that correct? Answer, that's what this appears
- 9:12Speaker 1: to show. I don't recall that. but that's what this
- 9:15Speaker 1: appears to show. Question, do you remember where you stayed
- 9:18Speaker 1: when you spent the night in Palm Beach? Answer, no. Question,
- 9:21Speaker 1: would you have stayed at Mr. Epstein's home in Palm Beach? Answer, no. Question,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you're confident that you would not have stayed at his home? Answer,
- 9:29Speaker 1: very confident. Question, why is that? Answer, if I was
- 9:33Speaker 1: traveling with my whole family, I wouldn't stay at someone's
- 9:35Speaker 1: house like that. Question, I'd like to introduce this minority exhibit, A.H.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Two emails from you to Mr. Epstein on January 15th 2010.
- 9:43Speaker 1: The Bates numbers are EFTA 01300416 and EFTA 01821546. In
- 9:54Speaker 1: the first email you say, arrived at your harbor, someday
- 9:56Speaker 1: we have to do this together. In the second email
- 9:59Speaker 1: you say, quote, that was cool. And Mr. Epstein responds, yep,
- 10:03Speaker 1: great seeing you. And again, both of these are from
- 10:05Speaker 1: the same day. Was this another trip to Mr. Epstein's island? Answer, no,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I believe this was me arriving on my boat. He
- 10:13Speaker 1: owned a marina in St. Thomas. And I believe I
- 10:15Speaker 1: was talking about me sailing, I believe, when he said
- 10:18Speaker 1: his harbor. I believe it was to the marina. Question
- 10:22Speaker 1: in the second email, which again is from January 15th.
- 10:25Speaker 1: You say, that was cool. Answer, uh-huh. Question, do you
- 10:28Speaker 1: know what you're referring to? Answer, no. Question, if you
- 10:31Speaker 1: were just arriving at Mr. Epstein's marina, would you have
- 10:35Speaker 1: seen him? Answer, possibly. He may have come over and
- 10:37Speaker 1: looked at my boat. Question, so when he said, yup,
- 10:40Speaker 1: great seeing you, is it possible that he was at
- 10:42Speaker 1: the marina? Answer, yeah, it's possible. Question, is it also
- 10:46Speaker 1: possible this was an instance in which you visited Little St. James? Answer,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't think so because it says arrived at your harbor.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And again, I think the harbor refers to the harbor
- 10:57Speaker 1: in St. Thomas where he owns a marina, but I'm
- 10:59Speaker 1: not sure. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
- 11:02Speaker 1: right here. And in the next episode, we're going to
- 11:05Speaker 1: finish up with the Jess Staley transcripts from his trip
- 11:08Speaker 1: to Congress. All the information that goes with this episode
- 11:11Speaker 1: can be found in the description box.
