- 0:05SPEAKER_00: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of the Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: I'm so happy to be here.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: This is episode seven.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Seventy.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, episode 70, right?
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And this is week seven in the NFL.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: It's been a good start of the season so far.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of injuries, a lot of waiver wire ads.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: So we're going to get into all that for you here.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: But uh, you know, tell tell the people how your leagues have been going, Joe.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Uh it's a tough, tough week.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: I think I went three and three or maybe four and two.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Um came down to the wire again for me in a lot of leagues, man.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: It's been competitive as hell this year.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: It has been a lot of great players.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: There's only a few players that have been consistently good every week.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: That, of course, is our RB1, Gibbs, RB2, Kenneth Walker, and wide receiver one Smith and a jig, but like those guys haven't missed a single game yet.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: That's the truth.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: But uh before we get into all that, let's go ahead and get into those news and notes.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: As you mentioned, there's been a lot of injuries, so we're just gonna try to rip through this like we did last week.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Kyle Manungay has been ruled out for week seven.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Brees Hall is up in the air for week seven.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: David Montgomery's dealing with a groin injury.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Jeremia Love still dealing with the ankle injury.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Zach Charbonnet might play in week seven.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: And Jonah Coleman looks like he's gonna play too.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: And Jordan Mason is also in line to get back into the mix.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: And then uh running back for the Commanders, Ja Corey Crosby Merritt, was placed on IR.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna be out for a few weeks.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And then Quinshawn Judgins still dealing with his ankle injury, and uh Najee Harris was released from the Giants.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: That's not really fantasy relevant, but people are saying it's because he complained.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: They had too many running backs back there.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: They they need to just focus on two or three, figure out who's the best.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Now, wide receiver Mike Evans, as we know, is dealing with an Achilles injury, but he could return after their week eight bye.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, right now they're just still listening questionable, but he's gonna be out this week and probably just return after the bye, maybe even uh week 10.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: I I want to see him healthy for the playoffs, so I really don't care.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Whatever they whatever they think is best is cool with me.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Honestly, for the Niners, too, man, due to the fact that they had so many injuries, they got a bunch of guys coming back, but still, it's you know, Mike Evans is your best wide receiver, so I could see him being out longer because that is uh Achilles that he ruptured right before.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: So it's it's just having a little bit of issues again.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: So they're probably gonna sit him down for a couple weeks.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: I I don't expect IR, but at least maybe an extra week after that.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I think they should.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: He's been playing so well.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I think they should take their time for sure.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Also on the 49ers, Debo Samuels dealing with a hamstring injury.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: And then as we know, Terry McLaurin is out for the season with that knee injury.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: It's really bad, so he won't be back anytime soon.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Could possibly be a career-ending injury, but we'll wait and see.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: And then unfortunately, Devontae Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury, and he'll be out for six to ten weeks.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: So I don't know, that's a tough call.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously you want to hang on to him, but who knows when he's actually going to be back.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Uh, I mean, at this point, fancy playoffs, like he he didn't just pull his hamstring, he tore a hamstring, a hamstring.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: So that's that's a lot more serious, right?
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Like, we're talking about like something that he's always had issues with, tore all the way.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: So, you know, the chances are that it's already been a little bit beaten down, worn down as it was.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I don't expect Devontae Adams to be back for this season or or fantasy season, it so to speak.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: He would be back for the playoffs.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So if you have him, unfortunately, if you could afford that IR spot, put him there.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: But otherwise, I'm dropping them.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm not holding on to that hope.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and there's a lot, there's probably a lot of moves that you want to make.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: So having him taking up an extra spot, even an IR spot, is is very risky at this point in the season.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Especially with all these injuries.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Uh now is dealing with a concussion and a foot injury.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: And then Rashi Rice is still dealing with his hamstring.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Rashad Bateman suffered a shoulder injury.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, some of you guys were picking him up as a spot start, but Jacoby Lane is coming back too.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: So and then uh Romeo Dobbs was placed on IR, and Roman Wilson was placed on IR as well.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: Uh, Texas wide receiver Tank Dell is on track to play in week seven, as well as 49ers wide receiver Christian Kirk.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: So those guys could be good pickups, you know, just maybe give them a week or two to see what they can do.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Now, quarterback, we got the very unfortunate news about Jalen Hurts.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: He's out for the seal out for the season dealing with uh blood clots.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You know, that's time will tell, but you know, he's obviously in the best hands he can be.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: That could be a career ending, too.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: So as an Eagles fan, you know, shout out to Jalen Hurts, man.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: I'm very appreciative of what you've done, you know, for the Eagles.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: You go down as the greatest Eagles quarterback of all time, behind uh, well, in front of Concrete Charlie, of course.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: So, you know, much respect.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Lamar Jackson is considered day-to-day, so keep an eye on him.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: And Baker Mayfield is hopeful, but I'm not sure exactly what to expect for week seven.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: And then Andy Dalton signed with the Atlanta Falcons, which was actually surprising to me because uh, you know, I was thinking he was going to be the backup for the Eagles, but uh hell no, we don't want him.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: First pass he made coming out of the cold, man, through an interception in the red zone.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Like, screw that guy, man.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Like he was just there for the bets, bro.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: The book he's got to him before we did.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: He's had good fantasy years, though.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: You know, you never know what to expect with all the red rocket has shriveled up into his little peen.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Now, tight end uh Tyler Warren is dealing with a groin injury, and then Terrence Ferguson, they're saying is gonna take a little longer than expected to return from IR.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So he is a ginger, so they take longer to heal.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh Ferguson's a ginger, is he?
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Terrence Ferguson, like his picture, you'll see it in reddish hair, reddish brown hair.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's a not on the same level as Dalton, though.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I would have noticed that.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Now I know uh we don't have too much to talk about with trade targets because we've already told you the guys to trade for.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: If you missed it, go back and watch the previous weeks because those guys are still relevant now, but you're running out of time to trade in the season.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: So there's just a couple more guys I want to touch on that are kind of being overlooked.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: So let's get into two more trade targets.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Now, the first guy I want to talk about is pretty obvious.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: That's AJ Brown.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: If somebody in your league has held on to AJ this long, it's doubtful they will trade him, even after a disappointing return in week six.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: But Drake May is back to peak for him, and AJ will clearly be involved in the offense for the rest of the season.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: I'm not worried at all about week six.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: You know, he had to get back into the groove.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: It wasn't good.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: He had some drops, but he's still AJ Brown, and he's on a really, really good offense with a great quarterback.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: But there could be someone that's one and five or two and four that would give him up for a two for one that would help him get a win and keep him alive.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: And if you can offer two legit flex players to get them through the bye week, someone like Denzel Boston or Jordan Mason, again, it's doubtful, but it's worth a shot.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: You know, I would pay up for AJ.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think most of more than anything, it's gonna be a frustration sell for that owner because to wait all that time for him to come back and have a dud.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, you could you could either get him this week or next week, but once he has that good game, his price goes back to normal.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Honestly, if it with that normal price, everyone overpaid.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Because if you got AJ Brown this past year, you probably got him in the second or third round.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: You know, so that was a huge overpay for someone I faded.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I faded him too.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Don't mind telling you.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: Um one more guy I want to talk about that's gonna be easier to get than AJ Brown, but in a similar situation is Jordan Tice.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: If they've held him this long, they might not give him up.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: But he was on waivers up until a few weeks ago in a bunch of leagues.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: And again, he's gonna be a lot easier to get than AJ because he still has a couple more weeks till he comes back.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: But he was a top 10 draft pick.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: We haven't gotten to see his skills yet.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: But again, if there's a team in need of a win that's been hanging on to him or just picked him up off the wire, I think you'll be able to grab him.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Shuck has been up and down, but if you wait another two to three weeks, I have a feeling Tyson's stock is gonna shoot up.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: So that's why I think it's gotta be now, this week, or next week.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: We know the potential, we just haven't seen it yet.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: So make an offer before he comes back.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Let's get into our hot matchups.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Why don't you kick things off for us, Manny?
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: All right, yes, sir.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Uh, for our hot matchup of the week, I'm gonna actually go ahead and go with the Packers versus the Lions.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Now, this is gonna be a fun game.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, anybody that plays against the Lions is gonna score a lot of points.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: Jordan Love has just been on fire lately.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Like, uh, I mean, the last game alone, they dropped three wide open touchdowns in the end zone, right?
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Like, nothing to do with Jordan.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: It was just the receivers dropping it.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: But he's averaging right now uh for Detroit, they're allowing 33 points per game uh to opposing teams.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Uh, and that's exactly what we want for fantasy because obviously you want a lot of points quick.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: So for me, Jordan Love, Christian Watson, you have that connection, you're doing great, right?
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: Because those guys are despite Christian Watson having a 10-point game last week and PPR, I mean, that's still, you know, gonna be his floor, right?
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: He's a guy that's typically gonna have a much higher ceiling.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: So uh that's one big thing there.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: The other guy, Tucker Kraft, coming back.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: You know, he's been back, but he's starting to show his old form, so he's looking pretty good.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, Marcus Golden as well, you know, those are really good.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: Matthew, you always call him Marcus.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Matthew Golden, such a great flex play, right?
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: He's been under the radar for this year, you know, and then Green Bay, I I don't know.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I think that Josh Jacobs is coming back, so I'm not too sure on who to start for the for the running backs, but I'm definitely going QB wide receivers all day.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Um, and then you flip it over to the Detroit side.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Obviously, the Detroit has has been uh amazing uh through the air, right?
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: Like, come on, Ross St.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Brown, Sam, you know, Laporta, they've been on fire this year.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Even Jameson Williams got in in a little bit of the love here.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Uh, but number one guys you're gonna obviously go for is gonna be Jameer Gibbs.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you didn't waste the first overall pick or waste.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: You didn't use the first overall pick on him this year to let him sit by, right?
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So he's gonna be a number one start.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: Um, Jared Goff has been a really great quarterback.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: He's been a top five in most leagues, right?
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Top ten at least as far as scoring.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Top three to five, yeah.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: He's been a really good under the radar play.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: But uh, I mean, those are guys on playing, Laporte, as I mentioned, Jamison is gonna be a really good flex.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Jameson's been better too, man.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Even their second or third option on each team, including the tight ends, are gonna be really good flex options.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: So this is the kind of game that I love.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: You know, it's a fantasy buffet.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: You're gonna see a lot more explosives, and when it comes to a divisional game, it's just gonna get really uh, I mean, they're just gonna trade shots.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: I love the intensity of these situations, and I think this game happens to be in Detroit.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: So, you know, that's gonna be interesting because I think that Green Bay fans travel really well.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna have a pretty good demographic of Detroit and Packers fans.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, that's you described it perfectly.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: A fantasy buffet.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Over-under is 53 and a half points.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's in Detroit.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's gonna be fireworks all around.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: I agree with every every word you say.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Now, for my hot matchup, I've got the Bengals versus the Ravens.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Over-under is 50 and a half points.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: You got high-powered offenses, and the defense for both teams has kind of fallen off.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: So I see this being a high-scoring game with plenty of opportunities in the past and the run game.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: The Bengals had a buy-in week six and they'll be rested and ready to go.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, T.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Higgins, and Chase Brown are all must-starts, in my opinion.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And while Chase Brown has been below our expectations this year, the chances are he's one of your starting running backs, and I think he's gonna have a solid game.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Lamar Jackson, as we mentioned earlier in the news and notes, is dealing with an ankle injury.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: But if he's starting, you obviously play him.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Derrick Henry is a must-start.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: Zay Flowers is a strong start, regardless of the quarterback.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: And I kind of like Jacoby Lane as a flex.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: If you're like dealing with bye weeks or injuries, you might be able to plug him in and get eight or ten points.
- 13:49SPEAKER_01: We don't really know.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: It's a divisional matchup with two teams that will be ready to make a statement.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: The Steelers, Browns, and Ravens are all four and two, and then the Bengals are three and two.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: So they're all battling for first place.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a really nice game, and I think there's gonna be a lot of points.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: I love Rivalry games, especially the AFC North, right?
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: They really trade some slugs, man.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Like they slug it out.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: So that's that's the kind of game I love, especially when it comes to those offenses.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Defenses have both been decent, like middle of the pack, but honestly, offense is top five on both sides, right?
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Especially with Lamar coming back, and which he's day-to-day now.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: So I have a strong feeling he'll be back.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And if he comes back, that is an automatic upgrade to Mark Andrews, right?
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, if it's Snoop Huntley, do not start him.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: But I I agree with what you're saying, man.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Those those guys are gonna start them, and and I agree.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Chase Brown is due a touchdown, so he's due a breakout.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: So you're gonna start seeing him really go on a roll.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: So if you watch Joe's player profile from last week, he's one of the players we free we featured on there.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Now, what's your cold call for the week, Joe?
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: Cold call is the Browns versus the Titans.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: These teams have been struggling on offense, which is no surprise, and their end zone opportunities are always limited.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: On the Browns, you have Deshaun Watson, a quarterback, who has been terrible the last couple of weeks, and there just aren't any reliable pass catchers.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: I would start Denzel Boston, but his ceiling is low.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Grinshaw Junkins is dealing with an ankle injury, and he only he's really only had one good game all season.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: And Harold Fannon has been really bad the last couple weeks, too.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: So I don't really want to start him this game either.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: And then on the Titans side, you have slightly better options than the Browns, but they all feel risky.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Like Cam Ward is on the same level as Deshaun Watson, which obviously affects the pass catchers.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: I would start Carnell Tate, but the Cleveland pass defense is tough, so it's hard to gauge what kind of production you'll get out of him.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: We want to see like the boom, and I just don't think this is the game for it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: And the thing is with Wandale Robinson, he's been a target monster in the past, and he's still getting targets, but you know, it's even worse scenario this year than it was for him last year.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: His ceiling is very low.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So I wouldn't start him.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: And then Tony Pollard is a decent flex play, but again, the low ceiling.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: So you just have to go into this game knowing that if you start any of these guys, their ceiling is super low and their floors is not good either.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gonna be a rough game, hard to watch.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, even Vegas knows it's gonna be hard to watch.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so you know, it could, you know, it could surprise everybody and just be a complete flip, but I doubt it, right?
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: Is it is highly unlikely.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: It's just when you see these teams that struggle to find the end zone, you have to rely on volume, and that's that's really all these players.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Every single player in this, you know, aside from probably Carnel Tate, is is relying on volume.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: Including Tate for sure.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe even Tate.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: My cold call, you know, uh I want to tell you about two teams that have been in our cold calls before, all right, just separately, but now it's gonna be together.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: So it's gonna be Miami Dolphins versus the New York Jets.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: This is a fantasy matchup.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: This is a hostage situation.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Uh, Miami's scoring average is around 14 points a game.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: The New York Jets are sitting just under 19.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, Miami's offense has been one of the worst in football.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: We all know that.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Um, but the Jets defense has actually been pretty stingy through the air.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: So, Miami basically all they don't have many weapons at all, especially through the air.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: So, it's gonna be a really tough grind for them.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: So, you expect to see a really slow moving game and not uh and a bunch of three and outs, of course.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Um now, outside of the players, you're absolutely obligated to start.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: I'm staying away from every single person on both sides, right?
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: With the exception of Brees Hall, Garrett Wilson, and maybe Ollie Gordon, right?
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: Like those are that's that is literally it.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: And all those guys, I have them rated as a as a flex play, not even a starter.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: You you could put you could plug in Malik Washington as a desperate flex play, too.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that could be a desperation.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: You have a desperation play on each team, right?
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Number one guys, uh, but nothing ruins a Sunday faster than watching your flex play put up three catches for 27 yards, right?
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: So happens to all of us.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: You know, meanwhile, the competitor uh the announcers are telling you how competitive the game is, right?
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Because it's such good defense.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: So some games produce fantasy points, some produce snaps.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be one of those games where you're just gonna not play anybody if you can.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm not touching that game.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: Well, smells like shit.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: It's that time.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Time for our shit calls.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: And my shit call is I thought Tyler Higby would have another big week because he had three good weeks in a row.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: And I played him in three leagues, but he finished with only four fantasy points.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: So if you picked him up, I mean, as a spot start, it didn't work out.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: But I wouldn't drop him just yet because Devontae and Ferguson are out for a few more weeks.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: So keep him on your bench, see if he does something this week.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Or again, if you're looking for a spot start, he might be okay this week.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: But I thought he was gonna have another banger last week.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: He had a good matchup and he did not deliver.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: He didn't do anything until like the end of the fourth quarter.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: So thank you for bringing that up because uh that reminds me of something I forgot to mention earlier.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: So I like Montfield off of the Rams as like the next guy man, next man up mentality.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: So he had like a really big game week three when one of those guys, I think it was either Puka or uh Devontae had it.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: It was Puka, Puka was out.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: So Montfield was out there balling.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Um, and then when he came out, when Devante came out this last game, he was the one that started taking the snaps, and he ended up being like this second or third on the team in receptions, right?
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: So I I think that that's gonna be the guy that gets the bump up.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: And with LA, they're always gonna rotate their tight ends, right?
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: Because they run a lot of 12 personnel, sometimes 13 personnel.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Um, but one thing that they're always gonna do, they're they're typically not gonna have more than two wide receivers at a time because they love their their you know tight end so much.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: So I can see Mumpfield being the guy that gets those because he's the big receiver, big body, good route runner, possession guy.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: So that I mean that would be the phototypical uh you know replacement for Devontae Adams.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's a good he's a good sleeper.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: You might want to pick him up and put him on your bench.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Now for my shit call.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: So uh last week I made it a point I l I really liked the matchup uh for a certain player, and I had this prediction, and you know, unfortunately, I let my doubts get the better of me, but I had uh Pop Douglas in all my leagues last week.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Um had him on the bench.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: I was like, hey, I like this matchup, right?
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: And I think he's establishing himself as a second guy, that Wes Welker type of role.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Because remember, this is Josh McDaniels' offense, right?
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: He had Wes Welker, he had you know Danny Amendola, he had uh there was one more, I'm forgetting here, right?
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: One more iconic uh slot receiver they used to have.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, Julian Edelman, right?
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: How can we forget?
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: So those three guys were were playing that spot, so now that's Pop Douglas's spot.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: So besides AJ Brown, who's gonna be the deep threat, they're gonna be spreading the ball to the slot.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: And uh now that Drake May is is bouncing back, obviously it's gonna give an upgrade to Pop Douglas, but my issue was I let him go.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: And now, unfortunately, I had to you know fight with the wolves to make sure to get my scraps of him wherever I could, you know.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: So and and the worst part about this is I ended up dropping him for none other than Joe Mixon, right?
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: Talk about a freaking flop.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: So, you know, that was my shit call.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Is you know, I I took a really good situation and I traded a guaranteed situation for a lottery ticket.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: So it reminded me that if that matchup is good, play that player.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter if they're a star or not, sometimes they just gotta be at the right place at the right time.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: That's the truth, man.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: And I'm like a revolving door with that waiver wire.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: You know, I get something in my head, pick them up a few hours later, drop them, pick up someone else.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: It's ridiculous.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: But always looking for those lottery tickets, and like you're saying, you should just be looking for stability.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: And one if you have a double flex lead, one should be your stable flex, the other one should be your lottery upside flex.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: That's a good way to go about it for sure.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: If you go two risky plays, you might end up with nothing, right?
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: So it's good to take that 10 or 15 off your stable guy and then hope for that 25 ceiling for the other guy, you know.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: But looks like it's that time we all hate, guys.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: It's the end of the show.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: You know, we we want to thank you again.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: This has been you know a pleasure doing this fantasy football podcast for all you guys, you know, all the follows you guys given us.

- 24:06SPEAKER_00: So, you know, we're at work all day, you know.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean, one of the guys shared a post the other day about how much uh money companies lose uh to guys managing their teams productivity hours, you know, talking billions.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: I lost production, right?
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but anyways, you know, we appreciate y'all.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Uh Joe, you got anything for these guys?
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Appreciate you guys.
