- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? We have such sights to show you.
- 0:14Welcome to watch at least favorite scary movie podcast
- 0:17where we talk about, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the
- 0:19downright absurd, in all of our favorite and least favorite
- 0:22scary movies because we believe every horror movie rightfully
- 0:25has its fanbase even and when we don't always get it, my name is
- 0:29Travis. My name is Jessie.
- 0:31And today, we have another special episode for everybody
- 0:34because we're talking Hellraiser and it's also our patreon voted
- 0:40episode in this month, you eat. It is.
- 0:42Yes, are other options? Wasn't it psycho?
- 0:46It was. Yeah, I was yes, it was between
- 0:49this and psycho, so, and this one out.
- 0:51Yeah. So we're going to be talking
- 0:53about Hellraiser today. But before we get into that, do
- 0:55you have any announcements at just to remind you that this
- 0:58month, our theme Is pride month. So all of our movie choices have
- 1:05some sort of connection to LGBT populations, issues concerns
- 1:11Etc. Either by theming readings of
- 1:14the movie, you know, General perception of the movie cast
- 1:18crew members. You know, that's what we're
- 1:21trying to do. We are taking all of our
- 1:23proceeds, from patreon for the month of June.
- 1:26We're going to match it with our own funds, and we're donating
- 1:28that to the Trevor Project. In front of the podcast, Robert
- 1:31atone has generously offered to donate a signed copy of each one
- 1:36of his books to the individual who contributes, who donates the
- 1:40most to the Trevor Project on their own.
- 1:42So you can either send screenshots of proof of that to
- 1:45us or directly to him. And he's information is in the
- 1:48show notes. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:50So that's the biggest thing about this month, that's it.
- 1:54Okay. Cool.
- 1:55Well before we get into the movie, I have our poll results.
- 2:00So we were talking about what was the best pilots in chania?
- 2:04Attention was last week's episode.
- 2:06So high is a different word in French, but tension is not.
- 2:11We don't talk about that in the moment.
- 2:13You know, we didn't did we. Yeah, it's about how to
- 2:15pronounce Haute, but like we have never heard talk about
- 2:20tension. I don't know if it is a thing.
- 2:23I mean, I don't fucking understand any of that.
- 2:27Okay. So our poll was Luckily just how
- 2:30did you feel about the Twist and Instagram?
- 2:34I think we're going to be surprised by this because okay,
- 2:38what were the options? O KZ ball.
- 2:40Before you feel the options are hate it.
- 2:43Love it and impossible, but don't care.
- 2:45Okay, so on Instagram, 8% hated this twist, 75%, love the twist.
- 2:5417% find it, implausible, but they don't care.
- 2:57Okay. And on Twitter, 44% hate it 44%.
- 3:02Love it. 12%, find it implausible, but they don't
- 3:05care. Okay, okay.
- 3:07So I think this this week, Twitter actually speak into my
- 3:10soul kind of its like, its split 50/50, but overall, it's more in
- 3:15favor because impossible. But don't care, that's where I'm
- 3:18at. And, you know, I enjoy the movie
- 3:22even though the twist is kind of just there, but, you know, I
- 3:26don't love it, I don't hate it, but I enjoy the rest of the
- 3:29movie Enough. To the point that it doesn't
- 3:31influence me at all and we know where you see.
- 3:33Yeah, yeah. I'm not, I'm not gonna listen to
- 3:35last week's episode again. If you need me to reiterate it,
- 3:38or you haven't listened yet, it's actually a pretty fun
- 3:40episode. Yeah, I liked it.
- 3:42It was good. Okay, let's get into another fun
- 3:44episode. Then let's talk about
- 3:46Hellraiser, which kind of the same setup as last week's where
- 3:51you win. Yeah, you went into this one.
- 3:54Not really liking it. I don't know if I'll say hate it
- 3:58but you've been a vocal a Outs your dislike of Hellraiser with
- 4:02me in the past. Yeah.
- 4:04So and I've always liked it. I've never not watch this movie
- 4:08and not been entertained. So, I'm curious to see how the
- 4:11conversation goes this time. Okay.
- 4:12Do you want my statistics now or later?
- 4:16Go ahead and do the now. That's okay.
- 4:18Let's just get it all the way. I think this week.
- 4:20It makes more sense because I've been trying to kind of tie them
- 4:22into the movie and some way, and I went on a journey with this
- 4:25one and it really doesn't actually relate to the movie
- 4:27now. Well, the reason we chose Chose
- 4:30this one. This month is because the
- 4:32director yeah I mean I don't think we really need to say.
- 4:35Yeah, he's gay. Yeah, I mean very openly gay.
- 4:38We don't need to say it but I do think we need to say.
- 4:40It is pride month and he's gay. Well I mean that was the yeah
- 4:43that was. Yeah we're highlighting these
- 4:46people. It's just make making it aware.
- 4:49So we watch the last Drive in version of this on shutter and
- 4:54at one point Joe Bob said something about the facts that
- 4:57this movie got Clive, Barker put on the list.
- 4:59Of the 100 most influential gay. Britain's a list.
- 5:05I was immediately curious about but not curious enough to do
- 5:09more than a quick Google search like I tried a couple different
- 5:12terms, it didn't show up, that doesn't mean this list doesn't
- 5:14exist. It just means that I don't know
- 5:17what it's called enough and I just maybe it's his.
- 5:22Yeah, Jo Bob's personal. This is easy to do.
- 5:25Don't have a list of like most influential game anything.
- 5:28Yeah. So, while I was searching that I
- 5:33came across, and this is the the io nerd.
- 5:38In me kind of McKinsey & Company.
- 5:40They are Consulting Group, they have an ongoing study about
- 5:44women in the workplace and they did a specific article right up,
- 5:49whatever about lgbtq+, mostly women in the workplace, but they
- 5:54do like briefly touch on other folks.
- 5:57Okay. So again, this isn't Really,
- 6:00really related to the movie. But I thought that the
- 6:03information was interesting and I think it's also important to
- 6:06talk about the impacts of like, microaggression bigotry, Etc.
- 6:11What not? How it?
- 6:12Like impacts a person's daily life if they're experiencing
- 6:16them. Okay, so the study and of
- 6:20course, I will put, I will link the article in the show notes
- 6:23below. It's called how the lgbtq+
- 6:26community fairs in the workplace.
- 6:28It was published Three years ago and it was by Diana Ellsworth in
- 6:34a Mehndi and Gavin's Sullivan, they have ongoing research about
- 6:38women in the workplace but lgbtq+ women.
- 6:40For example are more underrepresented than women
- 6:43generally in America's largest corporations just for openly
- 6:46lgbtq+, CEOs had these corporations, only one of whom
- 6:50is female and none of whom is trans.
- 6:53So and again, a lot of people like to say that that just means
- 6:57that these, they hired the right person for the job, But we
- 7:00shouldn't look at things like that but when you have a bias
- 7:07against a person or group of people, it really can impact who
- 7:13you're willing to hire. Yeah, I can see.
- 7:15Yeah, that's important to keep in mind, academic estimates have
- 7:19found that 5.1 percent of us women identify as lgbtq plus as
- 7:22do. Three point, nine percent of
- 7:24u.s. men, the representation in Corporate America, however, is
- 7:27much lower than these levels. Resent ation of lgbtq plus 1 and
- 7:31starts to drop off off beginning with the first promotion to the
- 7:34manager level while lgbtq+ women make up 2.3 percent of
- 7:38entry-level employees. They comprise only a 1.6 percent
- 7:41of managers and even smaller shares of more senior levels,
- 7:46this under-representation increases the likelihood that
- 7:48lgbtq+, women will feel isolated at work with.
- 7:52So few, others like them, they are more likely to represent
- 7:54their entire group when they're the only one like themselves at
- 7:56meetings or events. So that talks about the
- 7:58tokenization Happen to an lgbtq+ person in the workplace they
- 8:02become like the token gay or the token trans person or whatever
- 8:05and it's like, hey it's pride month.
- 8:07Do you want to be on a poster maybe?
- 8:13So yeah, it's it's a thing lgbtq+, women especially by
- 8:19sexual ones. Also experience more micro
- 8:21aggressions like Carrington meaning remarks about them, or
- 8:24people like them, I'm on a below deck binge and there is a very
- 8:29Uncomfortable moment earlier as I was on my little stationary
- 8:34bike and I went he did not and Travis was like wait, what did
- 8:38he say? I was like I'm not repeating it
- 8:39so you know, I gathered one. Yes it was.
- 8:43Yes, yeah, yeah. Compared with straight women and
- 8:46straight men bisexual, women are thirteen and Twenty Eight
- 8:49percentage points. Respectively more likely to have
- 8:52experienced microagressions so well, yeah, you know what?
- 8:57I can tell you one thing though, quite Barker.
- 8:59Spoke very Finally about his time here.
- 9:01So he didn't experience any, you know, microagressions or, I mean
- 9:06he could have soul experience microaggressions.
- 9:08And I'm sure he chose to spoke about the positive points of
- 9:11his. Yeah, sure.
- 9:13But you know, I'm just putting a lighter spin on things here
- 9:16because that's, you know, not exactly fun.
- 9:18We're going van, Jesse, we're going to hell and supposed to be
- 9:20fun. Oh yeah.
- 9:23They did mention that a few times none of it looked
- 9:25particularly fun so. Well, it's supposed to be and he
- 9:29Had a fun time there. I just want one of the movies
- 9:32for somebody to figure out the configuration that sends them to
- 9:35Heaven. I don't know if that's a thing.
- 9:36Well, because it says like this box, if you saw that, it can
- 9:40send you the pleasures of either heaven or hell.
- 9:42Yeah. But they're also Angels or
- 9:44demons depending on who you are. So maybe it's their version of
- 9:48Heaven. Maybe it's like an a you
- 9:51pinhead. Like instead of instead of like
- 9:54pins in his school. It's like a you alternate
- 9:57universe. Oh Why did you bring the key
- 10:01alternate universe? Because I just do that sometimes
- 10:06like I don't know maybe it's like puppies.
- 10:07All over them. It's sick.
- 10:09He's got puppies coming from his head.
- 10:10It's possible. I don't know possible.
- 10:12I mean, that could be your Heaven.
- 10:14That that would be me if I was the priest is sand.
- 10:18The limit configure, it's called The Limit configuration.
- 10:21Let's be real. Yeah, it's sad.
- 10:24Yes, okay. Anyways, okay, let's get into
- 10:27the details of this one. So, Hellraiser came out,
- 10:31September 18th 1987 we watched it on.
- 10:34Daddy's shutter, daddy Shadow and it's available.
- 10:38As of June, 18th 2023 on Amazon Prime, AMC plus, 2B shutter,
- 10:45Pluto. You can watch this like for free
- 10:48or paid. It's just available.
- 10:49It's not hard to find, yes. But if you have to rinse it, you
- 10:52can rent it on red box for a dollar 99 or you can go to
- 10:56Amazon or YouTube for to 99. So it's all cheap.
- 10:59It's all gravy baby. It was written and directed by
- 11:03Clive. Barker music by Christopher,
- 11:05Young special effects makeup, by Bob Keane, who is only in his
- 11:10mid-20s when he did this. And apparently has worked on a
- 11:12lot of high-profile things like the original Star Wars Trilogy.
- 11:16Yeah. Well you come out the gate with
- 11:17this kind of shit. Well, this isn't about the gay.
- 11:19If it was the original Star Wars Trilogy was beforehand.
- 11:23Oh, I missed you say, the original Star Wars.
- 11:25That's what I read that, we originally.
- 11:26Yeah. So yeah.
- 11:28You do star. Well, he also I did some Jim
- 11:30Henson stuff to wait. If he was in his mid-20s, maybe
- 11:34it was in his mid-20s when he did Star Wars, okay.
- 11:37I think I might have math ain't math.
- 11:39And yeah, I might have doubled it up just a tad bit there.
- 11:43All right, the cast. We have introducing Ashley
- 11:45warrants playing Kirsty. Andrew Robinson, playing Valeri.
- 11:49Clare Higgins as Julia, Sean Chapman, as Frank, and for the
- 11:55pinheads, I've got all of the names here, because I wasn't
- 11:57really sure what the names of each one, where the sun It's
- 12:00what I call in the pinheads know.
- 12:02It's like, that's famous. Yeah.
- 12:04Bradley yeah. It's an advice.
- 12:06Yeah. Okay, so I thought you were
- 12:07gonna say for all of the Franks since there.
- 12:10There's a small. Yeah, flashback Frank.
- 12:13Um, he's the same dude. 5-pack Frank is the same as like
- 12:17present, Frank know like gooey Frank.
- 12:20They said it was actually a different person.
- 12:22That's just needed somebody super skinny for the Press.
- 12:24That's just the guy that's crawling around on the floor.
- 12:26Okay. Was he actually is standing
- 12:28upright smoking, cigarettes. We're in white jackets.
- 12:30Okay? That's just like the same dude.
- 12:32And then there's also the voiceover.
- 12:34Yes, because Shawn Chapman is far too British for the mid
- 12:40movie, mid production decision to place it in America, get
- 12:44ahead of you. So I know I know this is not the
- 12:47fun facts part right here. Okay but yeah I didn't I didn't
- 12:50get who dubbed and I did find skinny Frank Kern gooey Frank.
- 12:55Maybe I should call him but you know, he's like - Frank you a
- 12:59cross. On for like 5 Seconds seemed
- 13:00like rolls around on the ground and called us being frank.
- 13:03Thanks Frank. Yeah, because he looked like
- 13:05coming out of the floor. He looks like the thing he did.
- 13:08Yeah. And then when he is like as like
- 13:10a GUI man, he kind of looks like tar, man.
- 13:13Yeah, I thought that too. Yeah.
- 13:15So, but no, I just got Shawn Chapman because that's, that's
- 13:19our frame. That's who we see the most.
- 13:22And yeah. So okay.
- 13:24So for the Senate by its, we have Doug Bradley who plays
- 13:27Pinhead or help. Nice.
- 13:30Yeah, Nicholas. Vince who plays chatterer Simon.
- 13:33Bamford who plays Butterball or who I like to call Cielo B?
- 13:39Because he's like Cee, Lo Green got that you see little bite.
- 13:46I think it's a good name for him and then the final one is Grace
- 13:51Kirby, who plays I couldn't find a true name for her.
- 13:56It's just listed as female cenobite, but I've also seen It
- 14:00is named open /, deep throat, I would prefer that because all of
- 14:06the other one, I know they didn't even talk about fucking
- 14:09microaggressions in the workplace.
- 14:11What do you got to say for yourself?
- 14:12Clive, what are you doing there? He's the micro aggressor.
- 14:18I don't know. I so deep throat.
- 14:20I think it's the name of it. I'm not 100% sure.
- 14:23I'm sure they explore that more in the sequence.
- 14:25I can't remember if they go into that, I know they go into their
- 14:28backstory in the second one. One.
- 14:30Yeah but I don't remember to what extent I remember Pinhead
- 14:33is like a little military boy. Yeah that's all I remember.
- 14:38All right. Jesse budgeter Buck said bug
- 14:41Ted. Yes absolutely.
- 14:42Booked it. This games, a little less fun
- 14:44when I watch. Yeah he's supposed to go into
- 14:48the budget but he did he went and it was 1 million dollars.
- 14:57Opening box office is 4.5 million worldwide gross, 14.5
- 15:02million, IMDb score of six point nine.
- 15:05Okay, that's rude. And needs to be seven, at least
- 15:09six point nine like that at 669. Yeah, okay, maybe people are
- 15:15doing that, like yeah, okay, it's organized, okay.
- 15:19So I pick three movies from 1987 and I do have a theme, okay,
- 15:25it's fucked up romances. All right, that works.
- 15:28So the first one, the stepfather that came out June 5th, 1987,
- 15:34hmm, don't have a budget. Okay, but it grows 2.5 million
- 15:37dollars and it has a 6.7 on IMDb.
- 15:40Okay, that's another last drive-in movie.
- 15:43That's what I was going to say. I don't think we've actually
- 15:45watched it. I think we missed that episode.
- 15:47We were, we won't caught like the end of it.
- 15:50Yeah. I can't remember what was going
- 15:51on. We were busy that night and then
- 15:53we just saw me went to karaoke. They might have been that.
- 15:56Yeah, some of you, some of you Coworkers some of my co-workers.
- 15:59Oh no. Oh, yeah, maybe actually, yeah.
- 16:02Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we haven't really watched it.
- 16:04But I know the whole thing about that is it's like a fucked-up
- 16:07relationship. Next up.
- 16:09We've seen the other two and that I think you're going to be
- 16:11very big fans of these, okay? So first one summer Party
- 16:15Massacre to yeah, that released October 16th 1987, I think all
- 16:21of the romances in that are fucked up to everybody.
- 16:24The only thing anybody is truly there but it's mostly The
- 16:28rockabilly guy because he's kind of like going after her.
- 16:34I think that there's like he's wanting her.
- 16:35Stop, love you, exactly. Yeah.
- 16:38It seems about and everything. They had a budget of 500,000
- 16:42worldwide, gross of 1.3 million and an IMDb score of 4.0 food.
- 16:48Yeah, but tragic, but I get it deplorable.
- 16:53Okay, well, hold on. Now, the third one, Silent
- 16:59Night. Deadly night to yes.
- 17:04I don't have the release date for that one but the budget was
- 17:08250,000 dollars. Okay, the worldwide gross was a
- 17:12hundred and fifty four thousand dollars and it has a 3.8 on
- 17:16IMDb. All right you know what 3.8 on
- 17:19IMDb a 10.0 in our hearts. Yeah so I think that one, you
- 17:25know what, you also managed to pick movies that Are all driving
- 17:28special episodes to shit. I did.
- 17:32Well, that's cool. I mean, the romance is in that
- 17:35one, he goes on the whole Killing Spree because his
- 17:38girlfriend gets killed right? Well, because he found out that
- 17:43she'd had sex with because her girlfriend.
- 17:45And then, yeah, he kills her and then he kills her boyfriend.
- 17:49He just, he kills a lot of people.
- 17:51He kills a man that's just trying to take out his trash.
- 17:54I've been stay, we do have like a framed poster size.
- 17:57Signed by the artist, the guy that did the screen factory
- 18:01color. Yeah, that was really cool.
- 18:03I forgot. He was at scare fest.
- 18:04It's right in my eye line right now.
- 18:05Yeah, okay. So I've got like four ish five
- 18:11taglines. One of them.
- 18:12There's two of them that are on the poster.
- 18:14Yeah. Okay.
- 18:15So that's what we're going with for.
- 18:17So at the top, it says demon to some Angel to others, which I
- 18:22think kind of answers your question from before.
- 18:25Like, it can either be heaven or hell too.
- 18:28But to some people, you know who are into that shit, that's
- 18:31probably having like Frank like, Frank wolf that shit I think
- 18:36until the part where he exploded, I mean, but that's
- 18:39like you know, the full climax right there, right?
- 18:41I mean, come on like either way. All right.
- 18:44The bottom part says, he'll tear your soul apart.
- 18:47I think that's the part where he stopped loving it, yam and his
- 18:50soul actually blew up and got torn apart.
- 18:53Can I have an aside here a second?
- 18:54Okay. So during the anniversary Drive,
- 18:57I've in Marathon one year, I decided that I was going to
- 19:02poorly Photoshop. Talia into all of the movie
- 19:04posters or scenes from the movie.
- 19:07And the one where I did the poster for this kind of makes me
- 19:13laugh. The most because of the tagline,
- 19:15angel demon to some major together because like the
- 19:19picture I have it first that way, she'd fit over Pinhead
- 19:22said, her ears are back so she looks like she's in trouble.
- 19:25That's your age. Yeah, it's just Talia.
- 19:32It's just like I will lick your soul apart.
- 19:39Okay, so the next tag line, there are no limits.
- 19:44That's you know what? Yeah, yeah yeah it's not fun.
- 19:49Whatever accurate though. I like this one Satan's done
- 19:54Waitin and that's with an apostrophe.
- 19:57I am.'. No G.
- 19:59Well yeah, exciting climbs. I'm gonna, he's a professional
- 20:03writer. He's not going to leave off that
- 20:05Gene. Let you think that it was an
- 20:07accident that's like this is I meant to do it this way.
- 20:09That's just sounds Southern Satan's done.
- 20:11Waiting in the final we have such sights to show you.
- 20:17I mean that one I feel like that should have been on the poster
- 20:20like that. There's like it's a fucking
- 20:22movie. We have a lot to show you.
- 20:25Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 20:25Yeah, it makes sense. Why I chose that.
- 20:27So opening quote yeah. I mean I think it works the best
- 20:30personally that cuz also like all right well I'm gonna go make
- 20:34some coffee. It's probably too like obscure
- 20:38have a quote. Yeah, okay, so I've got some fun
- 20:42facts. I know that you listen to a lot
- 20:44of this stuff on the episode last night, but I also pulled
- 20:46things that you didn't hear, okay?
- 20:49So it's a little bit new for all and for all of us.
- 20:52Okay. All right, so this was quite
- 20:54Barker's first time directing he did This because his previous
- 20:58two films that were adapted were done.
- 21:00So poorly that he wanted to actually do it himself because
- 21:03if you want it done, right, you gotta do it yourself.
- 21:05Yes. He chose how a razor?
- 21:07Because the story lends itself to a low-budget nature or bug
- 21:11Ted nature. I should say, I love that.
- 21:14I, yeah, they recognizes it. Yes.
- 21:16And those smart, and this right here, kind of should check boxes
- 21:20for you, because he chose it because it's mostly set in one
- 21:23location and you will have single location.
- 21:27Horror movies now it does explore a little bit but really
- 21:30all of the shots outside of the house or like just like five
- 21:35seconds or maybe like 30 MOS. So it's based off of the novella
- 21:40the Hellbound heart. And there were a bunch of
- 21:44potential names that this could have had whenever they were
- 21:48choosing what to call this. Yeah.
- 21:49So it would have been either the Hellbound heart.
- 21:52I could have also been Hellbound.
- 21:54Okay quite Barker suggested. Add sadomasochist from Beyond
- 21:59the Grave. I would love that, but it would,
- 22:01it would fully be like in cult movie status.
- 22:06Yeah, eternity. If you did that, well it sounds
- 22:09like one of those movies that was part of Scream 3 that her
- 22:14mom was a part of, which is even funnier because this is Roger
- 22:18corman's production. Yeah, did this new world
- 22:20pictures? I like to imagine that like,
- 22:22Roger Corman was like Clive. I agree with you on that, but I
- 22:26got a lot of Not cool with it. We're outnumbered this time.
- 22:32Sorry for Hellraisers. What they always move?
- 22:35Went with because it was suggested by somebody, but
- 22:37another person on said suggested a potential name, could have
- 22:40been what a woman will do for a good fuck.
- 22:44Which I like that. Yeah.
- 22:45Which is essentially, the story. Basically.
- 22:47A lot of those movies sound like they're either Lifetime movies
- 22:51or like they're whatever the weird.
- 22:53Christian Netflix is. Yeah, fuck.
- 22:57What do they call an unrighteous gemstones?
- 22:59I can't remember. OG, 0.
- 23:00DB, yeah, Jody. That's okay.
- 23:04So after they film the movie, nor New World convinced, Qui
- 23:08have to change the setting to the United States, to make it
- 23:11more appealing to, you know, a wider release.
- 23:15It really just made it fucking confusing.
- 23:17It did because they have conflicting statements and
- 23:20scenes in there, so it's weird. But they went with it, which
- 23:25means that they had to All of Sean Chapman's Lions, who is
- 23:29Frank? So he did, he sounded way too
- 23:32British which I don't really feel like that's much of an
- 23:36issue because British people exist here.
- 23:38So I don't think I would have ever questioned it.
- 23:40You know, I would have only question it if they didn't, also
- 23:45let Larry be British. Yeah, I well.
- 23:48And then Kirstie Alley's don't really British, he's still
- 23:51sounds pretty American. Well, that's what I'm saying.
- 23:54Like maybe have to have it, right?
- 23:56Or the other. Other yeah, I guess so.
- 23:58Yeah, you're right. But no I could see it like
- 24:01becoming a distribution problem in America because Americans are
- 24:06pigs in a phobic. I mean you said it not me.
- 24:13All right, so Doug Bradley struggled doing his scenes in
- 24:17this because they gave him those black contacts and he couldn't
- 24:21really see well, and he was afraid of tripping over his gown
- 24:25the entire time. So he struggled hitting his X
- 24:29feel like it barely moves though.
- 24:31I know most of the time he's just like standing there.
- 24:33Looking intimidating. That's probably why he's doing
- 24:36that. Maybe he was supposed to be all
- 24:38over the place but instead he couldn't because you just can't
- 24:40see any was afraid is going to trip.
- 24:42Yeah. The engineer, which is that
- 24:45giant monster thing? The chase is Christy, I think at
- 24:48the end or at the end is, like the creepy maggot, baby.
- 24:52It's a thing where she goes through the hall.
- 24:54And it. Chases are thinking Mega baby?
- 24:56Yeah, I think it's the Engineer because that's the only other
- 24:58thing that got a name and I got the names for all the cenobites
- 25:01so because we also have the crooked man who turns into a oh
- 25:05yeah. Well he's dragging skeleton at
- 25:07the end. He's just like a normal man.
- 25:09Is he? He turns into a dragon skeleton
- 25:11after. Yeah.
- 25:12What is waiting? I'm solid because what's he?
- 25:14Like a fucking cynic by the entire time?
- 25:16Just like roaming Earth. I don't like what was what was
- 25:20that fucking thing? I forgot about that until you
- 25:23just mentioned him. Ya know the engineer was It
- 25:27difficult for them to maneuver, you can actually see them behind
- 25:31it and that scene, you can see their legs pushing it from
- 25:34behind. They were like, really, really
- 25:36limited with this. Because, I mean, Cuevas very,
- 25:40you know, knew he struggled. And he said that everybody was
- 25:44really kind working with him even though he was very an
- 25:47experience. He said that like, he just
- 25:50didn't. Yeah, they're like ask everybody
- 25:52everything and he just didn't know what things looked like in
- 25:55the Joe Bob thing. He said he tried to check out.
- 25:57Out books from the library. Yeah you try to check out books
- 26:01on how to direct and they were all checked out so he can do it.
- 26:05The woman configuration was very fragile, it was constructed from
- 26:09wood and cut out brass and the person that's constructed.
- 26:13It Simon Says would often way beneath the Sinha B in the
- 26:19scenes, in case it were dropped. Because if it were dropped, that
- 26:22means he would take another eight hours to have to construct
- 26:26a brand new one. And at the end of the movie they
- 26:29ran out of budget. So that's why it looks the way
- 26:33it does. And apparently a lot of people
- 26:35complained about it. I personally love it.
- 26:36I think it looks great. Clive said that him?
- 26:40And some Greek guy as he phrases.
- 26:42It worked on the animation. Over a single weekend and he
- 26:45says it looks really good. Considering how much we drink
- 26:47during that process. Okay, I was going to say.
- 26:50How does he not even know this man's name?
- 26:51But that answer that. Yeah, so yeah, that's it.
- 26:56That's all the The information I have for this movie.
- 26:59So let's go on into our good bad, ugly answered suggesting
- 27:04you eat this off. What did you like about it this
- 27:06time around? Okay, so first of all, I'm a fan
- 27:11of Clive Barker, I haven't read this particular Novella but when
- 27:16I was in middle school, high school, I don't know.
- 27:20My mind, one of the things she would do for me for Christmas.
- 27:22Wish she would just get me like a big bag of books.
- 27:25Hmm. Actually, I think you would like
- 27:26these And that's how I eventually got started on the
- 27:29abarat series, which is a young adult series written by Clive
- 27:34Barker and illustrated by his husband.
- 27:36So, I was, you know, I've been a fan of him and then also, like
- 27:42he didn't direct, but he produced Candyman, and I just
- 27:45like, has been repeatedly. One of the movies that scares
- 27:49the shit out of me every time I watch it.
- 27:53So I've got a lot of respect for him and I think that At this
- 27:58movie for the most part tells a good story.
- 28:02There are things like Cricket man.
- 28:04Yeah, and I don't think Steve ever gets a name until the very
- 28:08end. Yeah.
- 28:09I was going to say, like I never knew what his name.
- 28:12I kept writing guy. Yes, that is kind of clunky when
- 28:17you think about it. Yeah.
- 28:18So I think and I think maybe some of that was just like,
- 28:21first time director trying to learn how to adapt his like book
- 28:24to screen. Yeah, I could see it, which I
- 28:26think is also a Isn't he shows a novella instead of a full novels
- 28:30that way? Didn't he didn't have to like
- 28:31worry about, like paring down? Yeah, it's like cutting it
- 28:35cutting out things. Yeah.
- 28:36Definitely. And also like the effects are
- 28:39just insane. Yeah, that really practical
- 28:42effects they do is just it's insane there.
- 28:45I love the piece of the beginning where there's just
- 28:47like, we're Pinhead comes out and is putting the face kind of
- 28:51together so he can look in his eyes because we have a facial
- 28:55prosthetic. We bought off of a Director at
- 28:57scare fest last year and it just kind of shows in this room.
- 29:00So I have ever seen. Yeah, exactly this all that
- 29:03seen. It does look exactly like, yeah,
- 29:06real, yeah. So it's got a lot of really good
- 29:10points and I think that I like that this movie wasn't really
- 29:12afraid to go there. Yeah.
- 29:14It was willing to push the bound bounds of like you know, a story
- 29:19that maybe you don't necessarily hear so often.
- 29:22Yeah, I'm sure the like, especially for its time.
- 29:25It was super. Yeah.
- 29:26Like it's Sexy and it's bloody. And those are things that tend
- 29:30to not go over well with ratings boards.
- 29:32So yeah, the fact that he got is away with as much as he did.
- 29:37It was pretty heavily censored upon release.
- 29:40I mean, we saw Frank's wiener little bit.
- 29:44Yeah, we did. I'm sure I wonder if you were
- 29:46able to see it back in the day so easily, you know, like,
- 29:49especially like England. They were like, they were the
- 29:53ones that did the video nasties. Yeah.
- 29:55So they're very Big on censorship over there.
- 29:58Yeah. So I just like, I have a lot of
- 30:01respect for this movie. Okay.
- 30:04That's good to know. Yeah, I agree with a lot of what
- 30:08you said. I think that this movie, it's
- 30:11has a lot of things to be afraid of because yeah, you can be
- 30:15afraid of Justice in a b and I know that they kind of steal the
- 30:17show for one people, but I think Julia's character and Frank two
- 30:20are both very terrifying in her own way too.
- 30:24She's definitely supposed to be the main villain.
- 30:27And I think, or you could see as Frank as he's like The
- 30:30Mastermind behind everything but she's the one that actually
- 30:33executes everything. And she's the one that's playing
- 30:36Larry. And Kirstie is like immediately
- 30:41unsettled by her. She doesn't really trust her
- 30:43from the beginning. Yeah, I've always seen her as
- 30:46like the main antagonist of this thing but this movie, especially
- 30:50one of her like she is like a Team Rocket situation where is
- 30:53like a bunch of people, Julie Anne Frank, as I could team.
- 30:57Yeah, I guess I could see that. Yeah, well, I mean there's like
- 31:01multiple layers to it because there's also like, Betrayal on
- 31:03her part to query which is also like another.
- 31:06It's, I don't know. I feel like she has more evil
- 31:08going. She has more range with hers.
- 31:11Everybody else is kind of like straight to the point, like,
- 31:14Frank and the cenobites are all there for like their own
- 31:17gratification. Yeah, she's there for her own
- 31:19gratification and I don't know. I feel like that it's more away
- 31:24toward for her because she has a lot more going on.
- 31:27Yeah. Yeah, cuz she's we're watching a
- 31:31little bit more of her Downfall with it.
- 31:33I mean, obviously, she's already cheated on break so there's
- 31:36already, you know, are Larry. Yeah, I guess both of them time
- 31:40depending on. Yeah.
- 31:42Depending on which brother you are, but I do think that like,
- 31:46we're kind of watching her decide like, Do I want to be a
- 31:50murderer that dick free good though?
- 31:53G kind of eases into the murder Persona pretty seamlessly.
- 31:58I don't. Yeah.
- 31:59It's not much of a. It doesn't take a lot to get her
- 32:02know, it doesn't. But then again, I guess like
- 32:04wherever you see, like somebody come up from like a pool of
- 32:08blood from the for and I can tell you to do something like
- 32:12all bets are off on your life at that point.
- 32:14Like you start to really question what is the purpose of
- 32:17your own morality? It puts a warrant It's, that's
- 32:20for sure. Another good thing about this,
- 32:23that I think that the atmosphere is pretty crazy.
- 32:25When this invites do arrive, like, the sound design of like,
- 32:29the clanking of all the things, as it's like, banging around
- 32:32whenever, like, you have like, the board with all of, like, the
- 32:35pieces of people, like, where everybody's been swayed and all
- 32:37of the tools and stuff. And when the hooks come out and
- 32:41they just, like, grab onto these people.
- 32:42I do want to say that like, watching you play dead by
- 32:44daylight today and the the villain and the match your
- 32:48playing was Yeah, was Pinhead and like, it was just the
- 32:52attacks. Were just chains.
- 32:54Appearing midair. That's pretty doodle.
- 32:56He was fucking tall. Oh shit.
- 33:01And then I got chased by Michael later.
- 33:03Yeah, that was good crazy. You got carried over Michael
- 33:05shoulder. Yeah.
- 33:07Naughty baby. I'm very new to dead by day away
- 33:10and I was Jesse was experiencing a lot of this stuff and it was
- 33:15kind of scary. I was not expecting it to be
- 33:17that creepy, but yeah. Yeah, I mean I don't know this
- 33:21movie, I think it's very good at unsettling and there's a lot to
- 33:26it. It's got that romance like
- 33:28nature to it all. So that kind of makes it
- 33:31upsetting and it's an all kinds of different ways, okay?
- 33:34So the bad, I just don't feel the tension with this movie.
- 33:40I just don't I like and I try want to like these movies but I
- 33:45just don't, there's something about it.
- 33:48That doesn't Grab me and pull me in is very much a movie.
- 33:53I don't mind having on in the background, but like, you never
- 33:57gonna sit down be like, I want to watch Hellraiser.
- 34:01Like it's just, it doesn't, it's got its moments that are really
- 34:06good, but like as a full movie, I just, I struggle with it.
- 34:10I think. And and I can't even really
- 34:12fully pinpoint. Why, I think a big part of it is
- 34:14because I don't necessarily feel that tension throughout.
- 34:17Okay. I think it's about how you, how
- 34:20you go, how you approach it? Because like, oh no, I feel like
- 34:23people. And I'm not saying this as you,
- 34:25but people will probably go into this and want to see like the
- 34:29sender by it's because they think that they're going to be
- 34:30the star of the show but like really whenever you're watching
- 34:33it like it's kind of like it's not really it's like a horror
- 34:38movie but also like there's like a drama to it.
- 34:41Also I was pleasantly surprised the first time watching it that
- 34:45it wasn't because I mean obviously I'd known about
- 34:48Pinhead before I watched Hell Raiser for the first time so I
- 34:50was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't just like all immediately
- 34:52like cenobites yeah I'm not bothered by that.
- 34:55I actually kind of like like this more psychological horror
- 34:59of what's going on between Julian Frank.
- 35:01Like yeah, I find that really intriguing.
- 35:05There's just something about the execution of it.
- 35:08I struggle with okay, and I don't know if it's because like,
- 35:12I just there aren't enough characters to really care about
- 35:18because most of the screen time is dedicated to Julie early on
- 35:23and Julia early on and she's like, she's not white bull.
- 35:27She's got almost no redeeming qualities until she begs.
- 35:30Eggs for Larry's life. Yeah, and it's kind of like why
- 35:33couldn't I've seen this side of her from the beginning?
- 35:37I see it as like, I connect the characters like seeing how Frank
- 35:46we're not necessarily front but I like wearing like his
- 35:49interactions with joy and then her interactions with Kirstie,
- 35:55okay? I'll just be like the whole
- 35:56dynamic and see it all play out. Like I don't really think it's
- 35:59tense but like it definitely hits you on like a level.
- 36:02That like I find engaging it's it's interesting it's like
- 36:07watching it is kind of like watching.
- 36:09A drama almost and that has horror elements to it, which is
- 36:13nice because I feel like when the horror actually does come
- 36:16like a catches you off-guard sometimes and like that makes it
- 36:19more effective instead of like focusing on the things that are
- 36:25visually horrifying or like some of the other Concepts that they
- 36:28could have easily focused on more to try and like milk it for
- 36:32that. But they didn't they like what
- 36:34the story play out organically and I can understand that
- 36:37there's not a whole lot of tension there with that.
- 36:39That's the thing that was that, like they let the story play out
- 36:42organically but like it almost feels like the novella is
- 36:46supplemental reading with it. Like you need to read it to get
- 36:50some more of the context necessarily feel that I've never
- 36:53read it. All right?
- 36:54I don't know. I just like I mean I can tell
- 36:56that there's bits and pieces of this thing there.
- 36:58It's kind of like, I don't know, like seltzer water like the
- 37:03flavor and seltzer water just that, I hate so much because
- 37:06it's just like a hint of a fruit flavor, but it's not like a as
- 37:09much as I want. That's how I feel about this
- 37:11movie. Okay, I can see that.
- 37:13Um, I mean, I don't really feel like there's a whole lot bad
- 37:16with us personally, but I think it would have been nice to flush
- 37:20out some of these characters of a bit more like yeah.
- 37:22We don't really get much of that Steve guy.
- 37:24We don't really get much of like Kirsty and her situation to and
- 37:26you know what I mean? Yeah, actually she ends up being
- 37:29the final girl if you want to call her that but like, she's
- 37:33just kind of like there. Yeah.
- 37:35She I don't know. I don't really get her.
- 37:40I really get her as being the Savior, but it ends up becoming
- 37:44her. She's the one that is able to
- 37:45solve the configuration and defeats the cenobites and leads
- 37:49them to Frank and, you know, like it's enjoyable watching it
- 37:54back. I would, you know, it would have
- 37:55been nice to have built her up and to be like more.
- 37:59Yeah, because you just don't get enough of her.
- 38:02I think that's what I'm saying. Like, I feel like the most we
- 38:07get is like from Julia. Yeah, we go.
- 38:09Mostly all from Julia. Yeah, the movies.
- 38:12Crystals, a very villain heavy movie.
- 38:14Yeah, it is, yeah, it's all over the place with who with follows,
- 38:18which is like it. I think that might be part of
- 38:20the reason that I don't necessarily feel the tension
- 38:22because it's like, yeah, we know Murder is bad.
- 38:24But like we're not seeing these Stakes of good versus evil here,
- 38:27right? We're just seeing like evil
- 38:29versus other evil. Yeah.
- 38:31Okay. Let's see them.
- 38:33Okay, ugly. Um, I mean I'm gonna say like
- 38:38there's several Ugly. That's Frank hitting on his nice
- 38:45movie, come to Daddy. That's upsetting to me in a very
- 38:51visceral kind of way. Yes, it's gross, it's gross.
- 38:55Yeah, I think all of the, like the cheating, the hurting all of
- 39:00the whirring these people in who are also kind of shitty to like
- 39:05and Frank. In general is just a very ugly
- 39:07person. Like he's so fucking selfish.
- 39:10Our meat and Juliet a bar, and she is the first thing I saw
- 39:14hearing very consensual. Yeah.
- 39:17The first suit kind of suck them but those when she was really
- 39:20nervous about the whole thing. Yeah.
- 39:22And then he was getting kind of like, you know, agitated or her
- 39:26for being uneasy. Yeah.
- 39:29Yeah. I guess you not necessarily them
- 39:31but like, I just don't like that pushiness but I'm saying like,
- 39:35I'm not going to fall these dudes for coming back to her
- 39:38house when she says, hey you want to come back?
- 39:39My place. Yeah.
- 39:41When they start getting pushy about the sex part.
- 39:43Yeah, that's a problem. It's mostly her.
- 39:44Yeah. She's the problem and Doug
- 39:48you're not Doug, fuck. All the names are getting
- 39:50confused. For me, Frank, I was like you
- 39:53last night, referring to Earl and Tremors is Fred.
- 39:56My, my name is Raja, okay, absurd the size of this fucking
- 40:03house. So there's just so much there,
- 40:06so many stairs. Yeah, so I'm really listening to
- 40:09an old Older cycle of probably Adam and the house they're in
- 40:14right now cycle 12, what up crossover listeners they talk
- 40:18about the house is just really bad for drama because there's
- 40:20just so many stairs. So we lose out on a lot of good
- 40:23like fights and moments and stuff like that because I can.
- 40:26And that's upstairs. Yeah because there's just there,
- 40:28people are so separated from each other because there's four
- 40:31flights of stairs on how I feel about this house, okay, it's
- 40:35just it's insane how large this house is and also how gross it
- 40:39is after It moved in. They really haven't done much to
- 40:42clean up the place. And it's sure, it's kind of
- 40:45upsetting to see how much how much crime still exists.
- 40:51And so many of the rooms, I don't really know how much time
- 40:56goes by in this movie but I mean they just moved into it and
- 41:00Frank was the one that was there and that guy didn't really seem
- 41:03like he gave a fuck still I give us his fucked in and that was a
- 41:08that was all was my absurd is for this and also the second
- 41:14one, because I've only seen those two.
- 41:16But for some reason, I feel like these people that are like
- 41:19gaining their bodies back, they like to wear white whenever
- 41:23they're at their most bloody so like they put on these white
- 41:26quotes and they're just staying. Everything is status symbol.
- 41:30Yeah, I don't know, it's just always weird to me that you're
- 41:33going to choose the one that is going to be more visible for
- 41:36that type of stuff. Like, put on black, I mean, I'm
- 41:39sure she killed guys with black clothes.
- 41:42You know, here's the thing, I know, like in universe that
- 41:46fully makes sense in the real world from like a production
- 41:50standpoint. I'm sure they did that to really
- 41:53contrast more heavily with the blood.
- 41:56I'm sure there was also there to make you uneasy because it makes
- 41:59you uneasy like the absence of skin and having something on top
- 42:04of that. Like, you can tell like what
- 42:06very sensitive. Says my nerve endings are
- 42:08starting to work again. N.
- 42:09Well then don't put on a tweed jacket fucknuts.
- 42:12Just gonna sting ya. Can't I can't fucking imagine
- 42:16having to wear something like that.
- 42:17With no skin on and just, he's just like grimacing through the
- 42:20entire thing, you, okay. So what do you rate this now?
- 42:30That's him. Okay, I respect it.
- 42:34I just don't personally love it. Mmm, so I give it a six, okay,
- 42:39that's better. And I was expecting honestly
- 42:41like I don't, I don't hate it. I think it's better than
- 42:45average. I just I need something more.
- 42:48I think I like this one a lot but I think two is the far
- 42:52superior film. This is a good one though.
- 42:55To like establish everything in the world, build in a way, it
- 42:58gets it. Introduces you to this universe
- 43:01and the woman, config a configuration, and what is
- 43:04capable of. And what the Senate by its are
- 43:07capable of And, you know, there's a lot of possibilities.
- 43:12So for this one right here, I think a good old age is perfect
- 43:16for it because it's very entertaining.
- 43:19It's a classic, there's a lot of good going forward, but it's one
- 43:24of those that definitely is improved upon immediately in the
- 43:26second movie. Well, you're getting your wish
- 43:28because our starting averages will seven.
- 43:30Yes. Alright, it bumped it up that
- 43:32point one. Nice.
- 43:34Okay. Alright, let's get into this,
- 43:38okay. So the opening credits are
- 43:41actually in the lament configure, I like that.
- 43:44I have to do it when the opening credits are like a part of the
- 43:48movie. Yeah.
- 43:49Usually perform its nice opening credits, it's good at setting
- 43:52the tone like, okay, cool. You guys did that right?
- 43:55All right. I'm ready for the rest of this.
- 43:56Yeah. So the limit configuration is
- 44:00actually being sold to Frank right now and he's at some kind
- 44:04of I don't even know where he's at.
- 44:06He's in like side another country.
- 44:08Yeah, they don't. Really.
- 44:10They spend absolutely like maybe 30 seconds on this whole setup
- 44:14here. Yes, he gets that.
- 44:16He's immediately and a dark room by himself, it's not dark.
- 44:20There's about 50 candles was about to say candles.
- 44:24Are there it said like no light on just candle lights and he
- 44:29solves the puzzle and then immediately is hooked and quad
- 44:33and flayed and dismembered and the fucking cenobites.
- 44:37Yes Hook Line and And sinkers. God damn it, Jesse.
- 44:43Yeah, this is an advisor there. And they, this is where they
- 44:46reassemble his face like you were talking about.
- 44:48Yeah, I really wanted him to like, say something to him like
- 44:52but instead just like the, like you're so far beneath me, look
- 44:56that he gives them. Yeah.
- 44:57And more devastating. Yeah.
- 44:59So that's how we're like this. How we start this movie.
- 45:02Like he solves it. They fucking shred him.
- 45:04And then this like, oh shit. Okay, what am I about to watch?
- 45:07Yep, all right. Two people enter the house.
- 45:12When is the brother of the person that we just saw get
- 45:14completely fucked up. His aim is weary and his are
- 45:20they why are they mean? Yeah.
- 45:21Okay his wife Julia is there with them, they're moving into
- 45:24the house and it's kind of a very bad State bronze.
- 45:29Eyeshadow all the way up to her eyebrows full garage doors.
- 45:33Going on. It's not a good like garage
- 45:35doors. Yeah, it's just like a solid
- 45:38color. From like, eyelid, all the way
- 45:40up to the eyebrow. No.
- 45:41Okay. Yeah, there's a guy, maggots and
- 45:45bowls, and shit like that. Like a freak weapon.
- 45:48Yeah. Frank left in a very nasty and
- 45:50I'm just going to say, if there's so many maggots, there
- 45:51should be more like flies and other bugs.
- 45:54Yeah, you should. I mean realistically?
- 45:56Yeah. Put the Magus fucking upsetting
- 45:59like those. Yeah.
- 45:59Setting tool catheter fly. But joy finds Frank's a little
- 46:04sex statue, which I think. I thought it's funny first, like
- 46:08it's just like two people. Like just straight up like
- 46:10having sex and I thought she just thought oh wow, this is
- 46:15cool. Like if I found that now so I
- 46:16moved into IB. Oh wow, this is amazing.
- 46:18It's like when we found the creepy.
- 46:19Yeah, campaign, exactly. Like I now realize later after
- 46:23watching, she's like, oh shit. That's Frank's yeah.
- 46:26So, you know Larry says he doesn't know where Frank is and
- 46:30she was like, what could this be frank stuff and he was like, I
- 46:33mean, I don't really know. He's probably in.
- 46:34Jails are like he did. You get the sense that like
- 46:39Strained relationship, Frank's been the family.
- 46:41Fuck up for a while and Larry's. Done bailing him out.
- 46:44And how does he get this fucking house?
- 46:46Then is this the family house? Yeah.
- 46:48How did he get the family houses?
- 46:50Face the fuck up. I think that they just never
- 46:53sold it and Larry wasn't like in town to occupy it because they
- 46:59said it's been like empty for 10 years now, aside from whenever
- 47:03Frank comes there to escape, okay?
- 47:06Well cross owes their marriage is Strained because he's like
- 47:10this will be a good move for us. Like we can just try and be
- 47:13happy. Yeah, you can tell from the
- 47:15beginning that is kind of like that, which is explain a little
- 47:20bit further here because Kirsty calls and he goes to answer the
- 47:23phone and talk to her. Meanwhile, Julia goes through
- 47:26Frank's ship and finds like a whole photo album of him just
- 47:30fucking a bunch of people. Yeah.
- 47:32And she takes one of them and Pockets, it for herself for
- 47:36later after ripping the lady out of the photo as a A bit later.
- 47:39But yeah. So Christie arrives.
- 47:42Sees all of this old, Jesus shit out on the curb which I don't
- 47:45really take it as Frank being a super religious.
- 47:48Dude, I don't think he would be the Jesus guy.
- 47:50Maybe it was their parents. Yeah, I think so too.
- 47:52You can tell that there's a strain relationship between
- 47:55Christian and Julia have to consider.
- 47:56Yeah. All right play.
- 47:58Nice with her. I think there's a strained
- 48:00relationship between Julia and every person she meets, I think
- 48:04so. Yeah, other than Frank, like,
- 48:05she saw Frankie, she's like, I'm done.
- 48:06There's a common denominator here.
- 48:09It's just kind of fucking sucks honestly.
- 48:11So they're moving in and Julia is in no way shape or form
- 48:15hopeful like she's like slowly on bubble wrapping some jars and
- 48:20then she's like, I'm going upstairs and she like pushes
- 48:23past everybody trying to move a giant mattress.
- 48:26That we never see again. No, I because the naturalness,
- 48:30no, there is no way that's the same mattress because they are
- 48:34essentially on a twin. I don't even believe it's a full
- 48:37when we see them later in that bed.
- 48:39Look okay, this whole scene is them with the movers, just like,
- 48:42struggling to get upstairs. I think that they cut it in half
- 48:44and I'm like, fuck it. Okay, I'll just like use half of
- 48:47it. I just need to get something.
- 48:49Are these actual professional movers?
- 48:51Because they don't seem like it. It is a creepy Larry found two
- 48:56dudes hanging outside of a Home Depot and was like hey I'll give
- 48:59you guys 50 bucks each to help me move some shit up the five
- 49:03flights of stairs in my old house.
- 49:04Yeah, they're nasty man. They're like questing after
- 49:07Julia, there's smoke and The house.
- 49:09Yeah, so many people smoke inside this house.
- 49:12Yeah, so many people smoke inside like you and like I just
- 49:16know how that house smells now because like it's an old house.
- 49:20It's musty it's mildewy and now it's got like the smoke smell
- 49:24and I'm sure Frank smoked in there, so, it's like, seeped
- 49:27into the walls. Oh, yeah.
- 49:28We're like, I can, I can call up that smell in my nostrils right
- 49:33now. It's nasty to think about.
- 49:36Yeah. I like those guys are really
- 49:37nasty. The Chris accuracy to Was it?
- 49:39Oh yeah, good Mother's looks and he's like, well, her mother
- 49:42says. Yeah, her mother's dead.
- 49:44So that's that's always a good comeback right there, right?
- 49:48Well, she's dead. So fuck you, yeah.
- 49:50Like well, she at least of age. Yeah.
- 49:54Pull a Tom. Adkins.
- 49:55How old are you anyway? Women am I right?
- 50:00And then they do take a six pack of beer.
- 50:02There's dude. Holy shit because they're like,
- 50:04are you going to need beer? Gets another weird thing here,
- 50:06though. I go.
- 50:06Hey, you got any beer? Maybe he said I'll give Uh 50
- 50:09bucks and a six pack of beer to split.
- 50:11If you help me move my shit, I got he's like just takes a whole
- 50:14six-pack and throws it at them like fucking take it.
- 50:17You trust a beer? You don't toss the six-pack.
- 50:20Yeah, even a plastic ring. Yeah, I'm gonna open it.
- 50:25Like it's going to be shaking off this, is he did that
- 50:28intentionally because they were being assholes which if that's
- 50:31the case. I respect it.
- 50:32Yeah 100%. So this still struggling to move
- 50:35that up there and he cuts his hand on a nail that is on the
- 50:40side of the wall. Meanwhile, Julia is upstairs in
- 50:44that room, where Frank was torn to shreds.
- 50:47And remember Larry Cuts himself, a lot of his immediate reaction.
- 50:52He's not like, I gotta go to the bathroom to wash this or I've
- 50:55got to go get a Band-Aid. He like very like, I guess, kind
- 50:59of, he's like, staggering and it's like he's about to pass
- 51:02out, but he like just goes up to Julia and he doesn't even say
- 51:05that you just like holds out his hand.
- 51:07It's gushing blood. It's just shooting out of his
- 51:10fucking hand. I really in a way though because
- 51:13the other night and if you guys follow us on Twitter than you
- 51:16already seen these photos but I I used a new hot glue gun
- 51:20actually bought a while back, but I haven't used it yet and I
- 51:24burnt the shit out of myself. And at one point, I dropped some
- 51:28very hot glue onto my thumb. And I tried to peel it off and I
- 51:32guess it like, you know, became one with my skin because I did a
- 51:36Full House of Wax and I realized I was peeling this.
- 51:39And once I realized what I was doing, I could no longer look at
- 51:42it. I was like, Travis Travis.
- 51:43You need to, we need to put something on this.
- 51:45This is Dad. This is really bad.
- 51:48So I do kind of get where he's coming from because once you hit
- 51:51a certain level of, I'm too squeamish for this, but I also
- 51:54am an adult and realize that it needs attention of some sort.
- 51:58Yeah. Like that's that's what marriage
- 52:00is for is for these kinds of moments, I suppose.
- 52:03So I don't know. I just always you communicated,
- 52:06like he just goes up there and just like slams, his fucking
- 52:09hand in her face and it's just like, I mean that is a
- 52:12communication. I do words need to be said at
- 52:15that point. Yeah, I guess.
- 52:17Like Jesus. Fragrant bring Jesus.
- 52:20Where, what the fuck did you do? And like, why are you here?
- 52:23Why don't you speak just fucking speak?
- 52:24In, like, all of this blood is just shooting all over the
- 52:27ground. It's an absurd amount.
- 52:29And then instead of her taken him to the hospital, he like,
- 52:34she just has curse, you take him.
- 52:36Yeah. Also I need to talk about
- 52:37currency for a second because she walks in before all this
- 52:40happens and she's like, I'm going to go make some coffee and
- 52:43she gets so fucking frustrated that the thing isn't working and
- 52:46I relate. So, Hard because once you need
- 52:48coffee, it's like everything becomes super frustrating.
- 52:51Yeah. And then she manages to like
- 52:55cause a spray of water in her face and she asked Julia for a
- 52:59towel and she like, it's the most magical towel in the
- 53:04universe because she like gently touches her face and her hair is
- 53:08instantly dry. We should all be so lucky to
- 53:11have such a towel here. Okay?
- 53:15So the blood upstairs is like Of sinking into the, for the floor
- 53:20is like, yeah. Like his drinking it up so later
- 53:25on while weary and curse Cedar at the hospital, a person
- 53:30actually forms from the blood that was soaked up in the for.
- 53:33And like you were saying earlier, it's kind of like the
- 53:35thing. It's just like to fucking like,
- 53:37Stringer, Eula arms emerge, and pulls himself up and truthfully.
- 53:42You don't think that they're going to be arms until you see
- 53:44the rest of the body configuration.
- 53:46Yeah. We expecting yeah like a bug
- 53:49situation. Yeah but he pulls himself up and
- 53:52he screams because that should probably hurts.
- 53:55Yeah. Okay.
- 53:56So there is a dinner party and Larry's talking about his doctor
- 54:01experience and how the doctor was they just kind of a dick to
- 54:04him. Why didn't we see any of this?
- 54:05This sounds like an amazing story.
- 54:07Yeah because I do like the transition of like telling it at
- 54:12a dinner party because it is how that would go.
- 54:14Yeah sense but Julie is like a full fucking wet blanket.
- 54:17And almost kills the entire party because she was like, I'm
- 54:20gonna go to bed and I was like, I guess we gotta go to that's
- 54:25what you do. When one of those I'm gonna go
- 54:26to bed you're like okay well I guess that's my cue and the
- 54:29whole thing was really like awkward but one of the people at
- 54:34the dinner party boy guy boyfriend of Kersey.
- 54:39Maybe yeah. Like his he's like you should
- 54:43get some more whiskey and she's like, I'm gonna be a little
- 54:45tipsy and he's like, maybe I like that.
- 54:47And Larry is like, oh God look like anything is like the
- 54:53seating arrangement. She's all the way at the corner
- 54:55of the other end. He's right next to Larry and
- 54:58then you can see at least face. She's like my daughter is an
- 55:03adult my daughters and my daughter's an adult, very
- 55:06uncomfortable, a terrible artist and yeah, this crazy story going
- 55:11with a doctor. Now, his wife storms upstairs in
- 55:14the middle of their dinner party and his daughter is getting hit
- 55:16on right. There is It's a bad time for
- 55:19Larry. Yeah, you know, it's also a bad
- 55:22time for his brother Frank because Julie, when she goes up
- 55:25Juliet, I don't want to keep calling her Julie and I don't
- 55:28know why Julia when she goes upstairs, is grabbed by gooey
- 55:34Larry and he says the, the blood brought me back and now I need
- 55:40more. No, she's like, I need to think
- 55:42about this. I like first, he's like, look at
- 55:44me, don't look at me. Help me, don't look at me like,
- 55:51make up your fucking mind. I'm gonna have to look at you
- 55:52from going to help you Frank. Yeah, so he's like, yeah, I need
- 55:56more blood and she goes downstairs and Kersey went
- 55:59upstairs because she's drunk and she wants to go back to that
- 56:02magical towel. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:04So maybe it'll soak up. Yeah, sober her up some.
- 56:08Yeah. Soak up some of the drunkenness.
- 56:09Yeah. Kersey encounters her on the
- 56:12stairs and she's like, thinking about worrying her up there to
- 56:14Frank but it's like that. Took it away from me.
- 56:17You problems and one. Yeah, but she doesn't she
- 56:21doesn't commit and Chrissy. Walks off.
- 56:23And smooches her boyfriend. Maybe guy.
- 56:26Yeah. Well, they walk home.
- 56:29They were walking together, they kiss and they gross a subway
- 56:32station, maybe, it's not the grossest.
- 56:34I've truthfully been in very few subway station same, but it's
- 56:38very gross. It's not a romantic place.
- 56:41I would say it's not the kind where you can like thrust to the
- 56:44other person up against the wall, because that's how you
- 56:47get. Tetanus or herpes or something.
- 56:49I don't know some disease that you don't want.
- 56:51Oh yeah something that requires a pill or a creamed to take care
- 56:55of and they wind up back at curse teams playing hold on
- 57:01before that even though that old fly Bug Man speaking, man
- 57:06speaking man, he's staring at them and like it kind of creeps
- 57:10Kirsty out. Yeah, but like, there's like
- 57:12nothing about this, like, he's just watching and then they just
- 57:15kind of like see him go. Hey, so she is dreaming about
- 57:22like feathers and blood and crying babies and she wakes up
- 57:27in a panic because Steve wakes her up Steve, is there shirtless
- 57:30in her tiny little room? So they did the thing.
- 57:34Oh yeah they did for sure. She's so sweaty here too.
- 57:37Yeah man. She went to bed.
- 57:39Sorry. Yeah.
- 57:41But like in that dream it was like it was a very crying like a
- 57:44baby but he was like all bloody under the covers.
- 57:47I don't know it. Very confusing.
- 57:48You had heard kind of confused, so she's like, I gotta call my
- 57:51dad now. Yeah.
- 57:52Yeah. She's a.
- 57:54Is there like a hint that like, she's got like, some sort of
- 57:57psychic ability, or she just like very in touch with her own
- 57:59emotions. I think she's just in touch with
- 58:02her actions. Because, you know, this isn't
- 58:04the only time that she just has this desire to like, check on
- 58:07her dad whenever she has these bad feelings.
- 58:08Yeah. Well, and here's the thing too,
- 58:10is that like and maybe Kirsty and I are very different people,
- 58:14but if I knew that I was calling the house phone In potentially
- 58:18would be waking up my evil stepmother.
- 58:20I would be so anxious about that.
- 58:24Yeah but at the same time fucker you know what I mean and be like
- 58:27hey that's another way to get it hurt.
- 58:29I'm gonna call my dad and pull them away from bed at 2:00 a.m.
- 58:32Yeah, but like what if Julia had been the one to answer?
- 58:35Well, then she's the one that woke up and got her night
- 58:37ruined, you know, win-win. So, Julia goes to the bar.
- 58:43Is it a bar? Is it like a hotel bar?
- 58:46Yeah. Very like high ceilings like
- 58:51businessmen drinking in the daytime.
- 58:53I feel like that's where they're allowed to do it.
- 58:54Is that a hotel bar? Yeah, it's not like a dive, you
- 58:58know, it's not the Winchester or anything.
- 59:02So she invites him back to her place and he she's like, let's
- 59:10Go upstairs and he's like is this a joke?
- 59:12Because like he just walks into this like grubby bloody maggoty,
- 59:19Maggie rat infested with rats over the place.
- 59:23I think Frank had a thing for rats or something.
- 59:26And here's the thing, this house has 12 bedrooms, like I'm sure
- 59:31this guy's like it's not anyone here look man.
- 59:35But he's so horny. He's like, let me put down my
- 59:37trousers so you can see my tighty-whities.
- 59:40And his but like his buzz coming out of them tidy whities they
- 59:43too tight. Yeah, that's the thing though.
- 59:46I like this guy right here he this is like what women are
- 59:50afraid of men should also be afraid of this because women are
- 59:52capable of also killing you by worrying.
- 59:54You. Yeah.
- 59:55Which is what's happening here. Like if you go to their house
- 59:58like no, let's go up to the attic where there's nothing and
- 1:00:01there's blood stains everywhere. I didn T, have some second
- 1:00:04thoughts I think at least they try and explain it away because
- 1:00:07he's like, oh I've had too much to drink.
- 1:00:09I need to To go pee. Yeah, so I do think that like,
- 1:00:15like oh, maybe he's just drunk and thinking with thinking with
- 1:00:18this PP. Yeah, yeah probably.
- 1:00:20Yeah, definitely there that situation.
- 1:00:22But Julia. She's a good villain.
- 1:00:25She was smart. She blocked the door.
- 1:00:27So he wouldn't be able to get out.
- 1:00:28And he was because it's an old house.
- 1:00:30It like, locks with a key, like it's not like a little.
- 1:00:33Yeah. So I hope the listeners
- 1:00:37understood that I did a hand motion to which This is not
- 1:00:40helpful, but I hope you guys got it.
- 1:00:44And while he's like, hey, let me out.
- 1:00:45She hits him with a hammer in his head.
- 1:00:48A lot of times. Oh yeah, man.
- 1:00:50Here are the head is her preferred method of killing
- 1:00:54people in this movie? It's effective.
- 1:00:55Yeah, it's a painful way to go. Yeah.
- 1:00:57Well, I like that. They put up like little two
- 1:01:00little hooks so they can just gently place the camera bag
- 1:01:03there. Every time I wish they did like
- 1:01:05the Texas Chainsaw things over you like shakes.
- 1:01:07Like the guys that would have like added Ooh I think we're
- 1:01:10like Midsummer with chiti. Yeah, it was.
- 1:01:12Yeah, yeah, yeah. So Julie because she's not a
- 1:01:18very bloody because it splattered in a spray of red
- 1:01:21paint. How the fuck does she get out of
- 1:01:23this? So where he comes?
- 1:01:26No, Frank is like, don't look at me.
- 1:01:30I love these shots of him in the background and it's like very
- 1:01:33like it looks like a boy, looks like little tiny Jason from like
- 1:01:36the Friday. Then he's just like swimming
- 1:01:39across the We're just really quickly.
- 1:01:42I thought is he eating them? What he's sticking his fingers
- 1:01:45into their necks and like absorbing their essence or
- 1:01:48something. That's how I interpret it any
- 1:01:50way. Okay.
- 1:01:51I always liked that. It was kind of like eating too,
- 1:01:54but I don't know. Yeah.
- 1:01:56But we're not supposed to look at them.
- 1:01:57How are you supposed to? I don't know.
- 1:01:59But Julia, here's Larry and just ignores him for as long as
- 1:02:03humanly possible. And she goes into the bathroom
- 1:02:06and she uses her magic towel to wipe the blood off her face
- 1:02:09without messing up. For makeup at all.
- 1:02:10No, before that even she takes the dead body.
- 1:02:13Like she doesn't even leave it in that room.
- 1:02:15She takes it and puts it in some random room.
- 1:02:17Where the fuck does she disposed of this body?
- 1:02:19I were in the closet we find it later when cursed, he's hiding,
- 1:02:22that's right. Yeah.
- 1:02:24So I think the reason she gets away with us because when Larry
- 1:02:26does come upstairs and she's in the bathroom, she's like I'm not
- 1:02:29feeling good. He was like, oh can I get you
- 1:02:30anything? She said of Brandy.
- 1:02:31His. All right, I'll be right back.
- 1:02:33Would you like what kind of not feeling?
- 1:02:34Well, are you the debris? And he's gonna, it should have
- 1:02:37been his first. Maybe she always does.
- 1:02:40Though, she drinks when she's sick.
- 1:02:42Maybe I don't know. Maybe any people who do.
- 1:02:45Yeah. But I think because she's like,
- 1:02:48no, I'll be downstairs. I think like they both kind of
- 1:02:51already have one foot out the door with this marriage.
- 1:02:53So I think like, he's just like whatever she's gonna be like
- 1:02:56this to me. I'm not going to worry too much
- 1:02:57about her. Yeah, I guess.
- 1:02:59And I totally understand that down just fucking whenever she
- 1:03:02doesn't want me up here, then fuck it.
- 1:03:03I'll go down there and I'll get my own Brandy.
- 1:03:06Yeah. So she goes into the room.
- 1:03:10As just to check up on things and Frank is now like in more of
- 1:03:13a body. He's no longer sad little boy.
- 1:03:15He is now like you know for one man against like like an anatomy
- 1:03:20model in science class. Yeah.
- 1:03:23Yeah. Kind of like that.
- 1:03:25He says I need one to two more, which is a valiant effort to
- 1:03:31guess, because you've never done this before.
- 1:03:34You don't know how much it takes to regrow your skin.
- 1:03:36Okay, all he had before was Where is what hand and boy, and
- 1:03:42that got him pretty far as he was able to crawl around for a
- 1:03:45little bit. And then from one person, he's
- 1:03:47like a pariah. So I think he could maybe
- 1:03:50gaysian but he definitely needs more than that.
- 1:03:52Yeah, he was wrong. Yeah, Kersey.
- 1:03:57Got a job at an exotic pet shop and she is having a bad first
- 1:04:02day. Yeah I okay.
- 1:04:04So Cricket man earns the same Cricket man.
- 1:04:07Yeah, it just dips his hand in there and starts eating the
- 1:04:10Crickets and she doesn't really know how to respond other, than
- 1:04:13to point out that he's stealing the Crickets.
- 1:04:16Yeah. She's like, even those back
- 1:04:19which like, and then when people are what's wrong, her see what
- 1:04:22happened? She's like, nothing.
- 1:04:24All right, that's what I just saw a man, get a handful of
- 1:04:26Cricket is this normal my first day?
- 1:04:30So you guys, I mean, am I supposed to be faced by this?
- 1:04:34But yeah, everybody. She doesn't tell anybody guys
- 1:04:37just eats bugs and walks away. Yeah, so we cut to Julia
- 1:04:42bringing home yet. Another guy.
- 1:04:44Yeah, she kills him ring consumes come to Daddy.
- 1:04:48So I'm assuming that these clothes that he's now wearing
- 1:04:50our Larry's. My question is, what if you how
- 1:04:55many of his suit Scan Julius steel from this closet before he
- 1:05:00notices that his clothes are going missing.
- 1:05:02I think it makes more sense for it to be the close of the
- 1:05:05people. He's killing, you know, but
- 1:05:07there are different sizes. Yeah I know, but like what makes
- 1:05:11you think that him and Larry are the same size?
- 1:05:14Just because her brothers, that doesn't make any.
- 1:05:16I guess, I guess for me, I would rather if I had no flesh from
- 1:05:23like a sterilization standpoint, it would be a little bit.
- 1:05:26More hygienic to have on your brother's clean clothes and
- 1:05:30dirty bar man's. I agree.
- 1:05:32Born outfit. You gotta explain the blood
- 1:05:34stains or why they are missing. Either way, I think it would
- 1:05:38have been better and more accurate.
- 1:05:40If he was wearing a bunch of clothes that didn't fit, like
- 1:05:42he's got one that's like Gigantic on him.
- 1:05:45Yeah. It's like pants are a little bit
- 1:05:46too tight. Yeah.
- 1:05:49Yeah. Like that were like, David Burns
- 1:05:51when he's a big boy interview? Yeah.
- 1:05:54You know, I wish we had some of that every Get some fun.
- 1:05:58Okay, so guys now wearing the clothes he's smoking a ciggy can
- 1:06:02taste. Now he tells her what he went
- 1:06:05through. Yeah.
- 1:06:07He shows her, the whole meant configuration.
- 1:06:08Yeah. And he basically shows her which
- 1:06:10he went, he went through the box.
- 1:06:12Yeah, she is horrified. Yeah.
- 1:06:14And to him he's like, no, that shit was hot.
- 1:06:16Like that was what I wanted and I just didn't like the part
- 1:06:20where I exploded and yeah had to be reborn by board.
- 1:06:26So, So, Larry and Julia are watching boxing, and he's a
- 1:06:30really, really into it. And Julia is in a far away
- 1:06:32place. And he's like, I don't really
- 1:06:33like these. You want me to change and she
- 1:06:35goes? No, no, she's actually more into
- 1:06:38it. He's like, I know that this
- 1:06:39stuff usually makes you sick, but I didn't realize you're
- 1:06:42actually into this now. Like she's like becoming more
- 1:06:44decent to ties to violence because she's killing all these
- 1:06:47people. So I know whenever people are
- 1:06:49beating the shit out of each other on TV she's like, oh fuck
- 1:06:52yeah, I could use that next time.
- 1:06:53So the problem happens when there's a sound Oh yeah.
- 1:06:58And Larry's like we need to go investigate and she is doing
- 1:07:00everything she can to not investigations.
- 1:07:02Like it's probably just a raccoon and he's like, well, we
- 1:07:04need to take care of that shit. Then she goes, it's rats.
- 1:07:07You need to take care of that shit.
- 1:07:09I'm terrified of the storm and then she tries to seduce him and
- 1:07:12they kiss her second. He's like, hmm, so need to go.
- 1:07:15Yeah. Like if it's the storm that I
- 1:07:17need to close the way, he's like I said, there's nothing that is
- 1:07:19stopping me from getting up there, so he goes up there,
- 1:07:22Frank has hidden himself. So Larry comes back down, he's
- 1:07:25like all right now let's go back.
- 1:07:26Back to the Kissin. So they go to the bedroom and
- 1:07:31they're like, making out and he's really into it, and she was
- 1:07:35like, kind of just like whatever and just sitting there until she
- 1:07:39sees Frank and then he pulls out his little switchblade and she's
- 1:07:42like, no, I can't bear it, I can't bear it.
- 1:07:46And then Larry is like, that's a really weird.
- 1:07:50A, a weird thing to say, like when you have changed your mind
- 1:07:54but also like you've changed your mind so fast like you hit.
- 1:07:56Me and now, all of a sudden you're not into it wary, though.
- 1:08:01It took him away too long. Yeah, no, there was way too many
- 1:08:04instances of her saying, no, please.
- 1:08:06No, I can't. Yeah, that's a good look on you,
- 1:08:08Larry? Yeah.
- 1:08:09It's like 10 seconds of her like straight up shouting.
- 1:08:11And then like eventually he's like God, I don't understand
- 1:08:14like Jesus do like yeah, just stop after the first one.
- 1:08:18That was kind of getting weird. Yeah.
- 1:08:20Everything. I can't bear it like yeah.
- 1:08:23Like damn. It's like Jennifer's Body.
- 1:08:26Wasn't it? No, I'm too big.
- 1:08:28Yeah she's like crying. Yes, a Frank Spears.
- 1:08:34I'm walks off for now. Yeah, so Larry Inc, her steering
- 1:08:39getting dinner together and they talk about Julia and how they
- 1:08:43both hater. I got, they're both venting
- 1:08:45about your here. Yeah.
- 1:08:47And as she sucks at, yeah, I know she fucking sucks, but
- 1:08:49maybe she just needs a friend. So, yeah, be nice to her.
- 1:08:52I got wouldn't be like that if I were the devil.
- 1:08:54Yeah, she kind of fucking sucks and I don't want you to Her
- 1:08:57either. Yeah.
- 1:08:57He's like she's getting weird. She won't leave the house.
- 1:09:01I think maybe she's murdered some people.
- 1:09:02Hate Kirsty. Do you want to go be alone in
- 1:09:04the house with her? That sounds like a good idea.
- 1:09:06Yeah, I know the place smelled really bad when we first got
- 1:09:09there, but now is spelling a little bit more dead and I just
- 1:09:11can't really explain it. It's kind of goopy, I keep going
- 1:09:15into that room and there's just like swine everywhere.
- 1:09:18Like I just maybe there's a lot of really large slow, you know,
- 1:09:21what Kirsty? I just don't know.
- 1:09:23So she agrees that she'll go and try and play nice.
- 1:09:26With Julia, which I feel like is the wrong move.
- 1:09:31Like, yeah, we sing them together.
- 1:09:32Is not gonna help either. No, no, it's no, he's just, he's
- 1:09:36going for short-term Solutions. And this is just not the way to
- 1:09:39go about this. It's like, it's his Hail Mary.
- 1:09:42Yeah. Like I need to find, maybe he's
- 1:09:45hoping that they'll get into a fight so he has an excuse.
- 1:09:47Yeah, it's yeah, maybe I guess. So unfortunately, at the same
- 1:09:53time kirstie's walking in as when Julia is bringing one of
- 1:09:57Frank's meals to him. Yeah, this guy almost like he
- 1:10:01actually puts up a fight. He kind of starts to get away.
- 1:10:03Yeah. Chrissy can hear the screaming?
- 1:10:05Yeah. Like so when Julia like leaves
- 1:10:08on stairs, he's like nope, I'm out.
- 1:10:10And then they don't do as good. A job like they got worse at
- 1:10:13murder. Some shoot like almost looked
- 1:10:16like she was kind of protecting him which was weird because like
- 1:10:20Frank has to throw her off like out of the way and the guy kind
- 1:10:24of gets out of the door and he's already Partially absorbed by
- 1:10:28Frank at this point so when Kirsty sees him he's kind of
- 1:10:31like he looks creepy as fuck. They do a great job with these
- 1:10:35bodies. Whenever they're like at the
- 1:10:37state, they kind of look like the Poor Unfortunate Souls in
- 1:10:41Ursula's little bowl and animated The Little Mermaid.
- 1:10:44It's been more like time or alike.
- 1:10:46The the souls in the River, Styx in the Hercules movie.
- 1:10:53Bring it all these Disney references that I don't remember
- 1:10:56that plenty of Yeah okay I'll take your word for it.
- 1:10:58It's creepy as fuck. Yeah she's sees that rightfully
- 1:11:02freaks out and runs away but she like she knows Frank catches
- 1:11:07her. Yeah, Franklin come yeah Daddy
- 1:11:09come to Daddy's her. Ooh yeah he says I love that
- 1:11:12line but it's freaky, it's a fucking great.
- 1:11:14Yeah and she realized she sees the dolomites configuration and
- 1:11:19she somehow pieces together that it's important.
- 1:11:21So she takes it from him and he's like, you better give it
- 1:11:24back. And she says, are you want it?
- 1:11:25You want it like, she's playing with.
- 1:11:26The puppy, she's taking her job at the animal shot.
- 1:11:30Very seriously and she throws it through the window.
- 1:11:32And then while he's like stunned, she runs out real quick
- 1:11:35and grabs it and then runs. And then she passes out with a
- 1:11:39bunch of concerned people staring at her.
- 1:11:41I like to imagine that special effects guy cried when they shot
- 1:11:44that scene, don't break a please.
- 1:11:47Yeah, she just passes out on the street and then she wakes up in
- 1:11:51the hospital and the doctor is Weirdly hostile to her, right?
- 1:11:56Yeah, like okay, you can call your dad but you got to answer
- 1:12:00some questions first, a little girl least, obviously want to
- 1:12:04talk to you. And she was like, why is that
- 1:12:05obvious? And he goes, I'll leave this
- 1:12:07here to jog your memory and it's the limit configuration.
- 1:12:10I like to imagine that like, he wanted really badly to be like a
- 1:12:14private investigator, but he's like, I gotta be a doctor.
- 1:12:17The only thing I can think of is that she had blood on her from
- 1:12:20where Frank assaulted her, you know, yeah, because it's very
- 1:12:23bloody and Yeah, and she's got no like wounds of her own, so,
- 1:12:27it's clearly somebody else's blood.
- 1:12:29So that's the, that's the only thing I can think of.
- 1:12:33Yeah. But it's interesting that they
- 1:12:35give her the one that configuration like, you probably
- 1:12:37saw this, but here, keep it. Yeah.
- 1:12:39So she's playing with it and solves it.
- 1:12:42Accidentally, this scene has to be like super easy to solve,
- 1:12:45right? Because everybody, like, is able
- 1:12:47to solve it within the first five seconds of touching it.
- 1:12:49Yeah, I wanted to be like a fucking Rubik's Cube or somebody
- 1:12:52sitting there and they're like this forever.
- 1:12:54Like I just have one green square and at the Restless or,
- 1:12:57yeah, it's so frustrating. I just don't fully understand
- 1:13:01it. It's like you touch it and it
- 1:13:02just moves. And all of the ways, it's like
- 1:13:04if it solves itself essentially, and so it's all self and it
- 1:13:09opens up this hallway and she goes through it because she's
- 1:13:15curious. So as she's walking down there,
- 1:13:17there's like crying. She hears that baby crying.
- 1:13:19I think from her dreams and then actually goes further down the
- 1:13:22hall. And that's when The demon thing,
- 1:13:25which evil maggot baby. Yeah, evil Maga, baby or the
- 1:13:30engineer as it was actually called starts to chase her down
- 1:13:35the hallway so she runs back out that wall closes itself but now
- 1:13:40zettabytes appear. So they're like you solved the
- 1:13:43Box we came just like I really didn't like this is an axe it
- 1:13:48was a pocket. Dial has fucking sassy in this
- 1:13:52scene, where he's like, no do not.
- 1:13:54Not cry. That is a waste of the pleasure.
- 1:13:57Yeah, like dude. Calm, yeah, does she look like
- 1:14:00your normal clientele like chill out?
- 1:14:03I know right? Obviously it was done by
- 1:14:05accident. Basic know.
- 1:14:06You want to see this shit and then she's like Frank Cotton, he
- 1:14:09got away from you all and they're like he did not nobody
- 1:14:11gets away and it's like one security lying down in hell
- 1:14:15because you haven't even noticed.
- 1:14:17He's gone and he's eating three people.
- 1:14:19Yeah, there's a lot. He's super newbie right now.
- 1:14:21He's called. Yeah, Daddy, it was yeah.
- 1:14:24Kind of weird right now. Yeah.
- 1:14:26So is like she's like okay I will show you him if you guys
- 1:14:30spare me and they're like maybe we will maybe we won't.
- 1:14:33But show us to where he is and she realizes, that's the best
- 1:14:36kind of a deal. She'll get.
- 1:14:37Yeah. She's like, I'll figure it out
- 1:14:39later. But at the moment, I can at
- 1:14:41least solve the Frank problem. Yeah, so she does, she goes over
- 1:14:45to the house, she wants to talk to her dad.
- 1:14:48Hmm. But by the time she gets there,
- 1:14:53the dad is acting. And kind of strange.
- 1:14:55How does she not notice the blood all around his hairline?
- 1:14:58Like where he just fucking stapled the face on?
- 1:15:01Yes, base. And like she hugged him.
- 1:15:03So I feel like he probably felt be rubbery.
- 1:15:08Yeah. Like his skin probably assisted?
- 1:15:11Yeah, it should when you hug another person.
- 1:15:13Yeah. Oh my God.
- 1:15:14That's the image. I can feel that.
- 1:15:18I know exactly what that would be like and I don't like that.
- 1:15:23Yeah. But like she Doesn't she doesn't
- 1:15:24understand. She doesn't get it.
- 1:15:26She's okay. That is so paranoid at all
- 1:15:28times. That her dad has been murdered.
- 1:15:30She doesn't pick up on the time that he's actually been
- 1:15:33murdered. Yeah.
- 1:15:34So she's like she's cool like all right, I guess we'll hang
- 1:15:37with you. Hear what happened with bring?
- 1:15:39Yeah, and he's like, oh well, we had to kill him and yeah, like
- 1:15:43what? Yeah, yeah.
- 1:15:44He's better off dead. He just kind of like fucking
- 1:15:47sucked. He didn't have any skin.
- 1:15:48He was being really weird and trying to kill everybody.
- 1:15:51So we'll find a way to explain is the police.
- 1:15:54Yeah. And Julia.
- 1:15:55Meanwhile stand there with this fucking smug ass smirk.
- 1:15:58Yeah. You want to like that's such a
- 1:16:00punchable face, you know? Yeah.
- 1:16:02Fuck Julia and I got to give credit to it.
- 1:16:05What's the actor's name? Is it for him for Larry?
- 1:16:10That is Andrew Robinson. Andrew Roberts and I was not
- 1:16:13going to guess the right thing. He did such a good job of like
- 1:16:19being frank ever, Larry pretending to be Larry like
- 1:16:23until it's a different person. Yeah.
- 1:16:24You don't even feel like you're watching the same guy.
- 1:16:26Yeah. Like, even his face looks just
- 1:16:28different. Yeah.
- 1:16:29It's like it's like this facial like the way he's animating his
- 1:16:32face as yeah. It's more unsettling like he did
- 1:16:35a really good job. Yeah.
- 1:16:37But Christy demands to see the body just to know for sure what
- 1:16:40I like. What happened.
- 1:16:42So Joy leads her up there again this body looks way smaller than
- 1:16:47it should for a grown man. Yeah it's like he really
- 1:16:50absorbed that one right there. He got ya out of weary for sure.
- 1:16:54Sure. Yeah, so when she's up there,
- 1:16:58the cenobites up here and they're like, we want the man
- 1:17:00who did this. And she goes, you can't.
- 1:17:02That's my dad. When she runs downstairs to try
- 1:17:05and get Larry to leave because she's like, you don't understand
- 1:17:08their these creatures up there and then that's when she puts
- 1:17:11together. Yeah, that is Frank.
- 1:17:13Kersey, like, tries to grab her first and she breaks free and
- 1:17:17she runs down there to talk to her dad and from the
- 1:17:20interaction. She's like, oh shit, you're
- 1:17:22Frank, you killed my dad. That was my dad up.
- 1:17:24So then she like is running around and act.
- 1:17:28Like I think she did such a good job acting in this scene to
- 1:17:31where she's like equal parts fighting for her life but also
- 1:17:34like coming to terms with the fact that her dad is dead.
- 1:17:37Yeah I do like the lion here where he's like all right that's
- 1:17:40I guess that's it for the count. Had the Cat & Mouse shit them.
- 1:17:43Yeah. Which was he suggested the line?
- 1:17:46Yeah so yeah just in the moment was like oh shit.
- 1:17:49Yeah, that's good. But then they did end up doing
- 1:17:51cat and mouse. Well so he says That's enough
- 1:17:54for the Cat & Mouse shit again and he goes and Julia's like
- 1:17:57holding Kirsty and it looks like he's going to stack Hershey but
- 1:18:01then he like and gets Julia instead and she goes not me.
- 1:18:07He's like sorry, I'd rather fuck my niece because this can't get
- 1:18:10more upsetting. Yeah, yeah, it's very, very
- 1:18:13gross. So I guess if we have like a
- 1:18:15ship of Theseus moment how much of him is still her uncle or is
- 1:18:20because he is like, I don't know built from new parts.
- 1:18:24He like, has, like, half of like she clawed his face too.
- 1:18:28Yeah, and it's just, like, hanging out in strips.
- 1:18:29Yeah. So his skin is, it does feel
- 1:18:32weird for. Yeah, because that doesn't
- 1:18:33happen in normal people's faces. Yeah, but like, I wonder like if
- 1:18:37since he's wearing weary skin now, if like, because he liked
- 1:18:41reaches in to Julia and like absorbs her blood, I wonder if
- 1:18:45that would he'll like the Frank or not the Frank, the weary
- 1:18:49skin. On top of it doesn't.
- 1:18:51It doesn't heal his face. Yeah.
- 1:18:52What if you're like helps them become Um, him that would have
- 1:18:55been interesting. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18:56But they they have like this whole hide-and-seek moment.
- 1:18:58So I guess it wasn't enough. No, that can't be just straight
- 1:19:01up, dude. Yeah, but they wind up in the
- 1:19:04attic and the son of B and their mobile torture chamber appear.
- 1:19:10No, I so creepy. And Frank's like you tricked me,
- 1:19:14and she's like, well, you killed my dad.
- 1:19:15So, yeah, really traumatizing for me, I need a lot of therapy.
- 1:19:23Yeah, pin. It is really, really pissed that
- 1:19:26he is alive again. So yeah, they just straight up
- 1:19:30hook him back up. Yo again, and they again with
- 1:19:35the dislike don't look because they tell Kirsty, this is not
- 1:19:38for your eyes. It's a little bit more eloquent
- 1:19:41than Frank's. Don't look at me.
- 1:19:42But like it's still. Well, I mean, they were trying
- 1:19:44to do this shit to her earlier. Like, I mean, at least give her
- 1:19:47a preview, let her know what's about to happen.
- 1:19:49So, you know how our whole head Canon of John Kramer being like
- 1:19:53a fan. End of 80s.
- 1:19:54Slashers you think he's a sinner by?
- 1:19:57I think that when he set up the shotgun Carousel, he got really
- 1:20:03mad at the one guy at the end. Saying, look at me like, no,
- 1:20:06you're supposed to say, do not give me.
- 1:20:07Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:20:11So yeah, like he is all stretched out.
- 1:20:15And this is where he says Jesus wept.
- 1:20:18Yeah. And then he just explodes.
- 1:20:20Yeah. And then you think it's over
- 1:20:23with But Kersey thinks it's over with.
- 1:20:26So, she tries to leave at all of them swore Maria.
- 1:20:29And I do, you think it's over with do you?
- 1:20:31So they start chasing her, but she has the limit configuration
- 1:20:34and yeah, as easy of a puzzle, it is to solve.
- 1:20:37She continues to do it and it's zaps.
- 1:20:41And yeah. She's like, oh no.
- 1:20:43Yeah, yeah. It just works like this.
- 1:20:45She's just like, oh, yeah. And Steve shows up, yeah.
- 1:20:48Yeah, because like this is where we learn Steve's name because
- 1:20:50he's like pounding on the front door.
- 1:20:51She goes Steve, we're like uh-oh.
- 1:20:54That's his name. Yeah.
- 1:20:55Why are you even here? You're not needed.
- 1:20:57You do not provide any help at all in this scene.
- 1:21:00I think he got concerned because he went to go see her in the
- 1:21:02hospital and she wasn't there and the doctors like well by
- 1:21:05golly. That's bizarre, really not at
- 1:21:09all concerned enough. And he's like, I bet she's at
- 1:21:11her dad's house which like, maybe they only recently started
- 1:21:15dating, but he has very quickly learned how important her dad is
- 1:21:18see her. So that's why he, that's why
- 1:21:21he's there, but he's not really. Contributing to the, to the
- 1:21:26resolution of this know. Well, this is where Pinhead says
- 1:21:32we have such sights to show you and then she responds with go to
- 1:21:36hell, which has a one liner in this scenario, so yeah, they all
- 1:21:41Get Zapped, the house catches on fire and I think it's crazy that
- 1:21:47they stand there and watch the entire thing burn.
- 1:21:50Because you going, I gotta seen creatures from hell can survive
- 1:21:54Have some fire. It's also got to take a fucking
- 1:21:56long time for that entire thing to just go to Pure Rubble, but
- 1:22:00like it cuts to them standing there.
- 1:22:02The fire still going, but it's just like bricks and like some
- 1:22:04dust its Rubble at this point. Yeah.
- 1:22:06But she finds the woman configuration in the fire and
- 1:22:08grabs it and tosses it into another fire.
- 1:22:11Yeah. And then the Brigham in shows up
- 1:22:15because we need more of him. I don't have done without him
- 1:22:20like he could have just been an unsettling creatures.
- 1:22:22Yeah. Just like I got upset.
- 1:22:24Man, that is crickets and I would have totally accepted that
- 1:22:27but no, he turns into a demon and he flies away.
- 1:22:30Yeah. And then the zooms out takes the
- 1:22:34he takes the limit configuration out of the fire then.
- 1:22:37Yeah. Okay right.
- 1:22:39Yeah. And then he goes and then it
- 1:22:40zooms out and it's the configuration again at the
- 1:22:43beginning of the movie. Yeah.
- 1:22:46And then the movie ends. Yeah.
- 1:22:48It's just opening credits and entire movie all the way down.
- 1:22:52Yeah. It's just like, it keeps going.
- 1:22:54Yeah, I like it. But yeah, that's the end of the
- 1:22:57movie. That's how it goes.
- 1:23:00Okay. So after talking about it, do
- 1:23:02you change your rating in any way?
- 1:23:03I will cede a quarter of a point.
- 1:23:07Okay, cool. What made you do that 6.25?
- 1:23:09I mean it does tell a story which I said before, I just I
- 1:23:15don't know. I like I want I want to like
- 1:23:17this is a movie that I want to like but I just don't I get it.
- 1:23:20I get it. So like old razor to the right?
- 1:23:23I truthfully, can't tell you much about it, seriously, I
- 1:23:26should do this so much, it's amazing.
- 1:23:31I think I'm going to, I'll keep mine on, Nate.
- 1:23:33Okay, I do love this movie, this movie is great.
- 1:23:36This is one that I will watch at any time.
- 1:23:38Like, I don't know. I it's fresh.
- 1:23:41I guess like, it's just tell us like a different story compared
- 1:23:44to everything else in that time, like, how unique it is?
- 1:23:47I I respect the movie for what it is.
- 1:23:51It's just one of those that doesn't speak to me for whatever
- 1:23:54reason. And I really like, I want to
- 1:23:56know why. Yeah, but it just okay.
- 1:23:59Cool, man. Seven point one, two five is our
- 1:24:01new at me. All right.
- 1:24:02I like the score a lot better than IMDB's.
- 1:24:06Okay. Talia, the beginning of the
- 1:24:10movie. She wanted to play so much
- 1:24:12catch. She want to play fetch because
- 1:24:14if she dropped a toy she refused to go get it herself.
- 1:24:17Yeah she Want to play catch, then she was sleepy, but then
- 1:24:21she needed to go out and an hour, nine minutes and granted
- 1:24:24us an hour and nine minutes in like the Joe Bob specials, not
- 1:24:27necessarily an hour, nine minutes in the movie, and then
- 1:24:30she barked when the baby was crying in the hall before the
- 1:24:33first appearance of creepy maggot babies always upsetting.
- 1:24:36Yeah, protect the baby. Yes.
- 1:24:37Oh Talia I mean tell you was living for those movies, you
- 1:24:41Arctic. I think she really did.
- 1:24:42Yeah I think she I think she gives it an eight.
- 1:24:44I think she recognizes that that was her best poster.
- 1:24:47So yeah. So she's like, I love this
- 1:24:49movie. Yes, yes, absolutely.
- 1:24:51Zoey, started off the movie hunting.
- 1:24:54And I'm going to tell you guys, she found one of her little toy
- 1:24:57mice. She knew the rats were coming.
- 1:25:00Oh yeah, she found one of her little toy mice, and we just
- 1:25:03hear her little paws skittering, down the hall.
- 1:25:06And then she does essentially a Tokyo Drift into the kitchen and
- 1:25:09drops the mouse and just like looks at us through the doorway.
- 1:25:12Yeah. What up bitches?
- 1:25:14And she retired and yeah. And then after that she came in
- 1:25:17like she sat on the Couch and on the dog.
- 1:25:19But like she stayed in the living room.
- 1:25:20She was there for most of the movies I'm going to call the
- 1:25:22yes. I mean, I think she was very
- 1:25:24excited to watch that because she ran in and Tokyo drifted in.
- 1:25:27Ya, think I'm making an appearance for this when I'm
- 1:25:30watching that shit. Yes.
- 1:25:31Yes. Okay, who did you relate to
- 1:25:37Kirsty in her frustration of trying to get coffee?
- 1:25:41But not having all the supplies. Did I relate?
- 1:25:48To our way to the party guess because I feel so uncomfortable
- 1:25:55need to leave. Yeah, I feel uncomfortable
- 1:25:57watching the whole dynamic of this family play out and I but I
- 1:26:01liked hearing the story because they were enthralled with his
- 1:26:05story. I do think that was a nice
- 1:26:06scene. Transition, I stand by that.
- 1:26:08Yeah, yeah, sure. And then they also got they were
- 1:26:12also their present watching the whole Chris or Kersey getting
- 1:26:15hit on and like, just gonna wear his shh.
- 1:26:18No man. Like our kids are gonna find ya.
- 1:26:21Yeah, I relate to that guy was watching the whole thing play
- 1:26:24out. Okay.
- 1:26:26Do we have a dream sequel for this?
- 1:26:27We can do this because this is not a franchise that were
- 1:26:30covering we will cover more. I promise that I want to see I
- 1:26:36want to see the the heaven. You will see Heaven?
- 1:26:39Yeah. Okay.
- 1:26:40I wanna see Talia Pinhead. I was Heap up.
- 1:26:42Head pop, pop head? Yeah.
- 1:26:46Okay, well, okay sure. Yeah, I guess it is interesting.
- 1:26:51Like what would a heaven look like and this type of universe?
- 1:26:55Write it, you know, and it just made me think of some remember
- 1:26:59that time at the Mexican restaurant where they were
- 1:27:01playing Puss and Boots. The Last Wish.
- 1:27:04Yeah and it was really sad. And we're having a bad time
- 1:27:08watching it. That's your Heaven.
- 1:27:09No, but it made me think of where they got the map and like
- 1:27:13whoever was holding it, it was like their map their world.
- 1:27:18Yeah. It was like, what their internal
- 1:27:20world was in the moment and so, like, both the cats are going
- 1:27:22through and is creepy and mean, and then when the dog does it
- 1:27:26like, it's like rainbows. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:28So that's yet. Do this with element that
- 1:27:31figuration is you hold. It becomes what you wanted to
- 1:27:33be. It could be puppet, it could be
- 1:27:36Mmhmm. Yeah.
- 1:27:37Okay. Then, and this movie, it would
- 1:27:38be puppet. I don't think that is the truth
- 1:27:41though because I don't think Kirsty wanted to screaming.
- 1:27:44Oh no. That's a fucked up family.
- 1:27:49We don't really know much about Kersey.
- 1:27:51We talked about that. Maybe she is fucked up.
- 1:27:53She was sweaty in bed. Yeah, as if that's damning a
- 1:27:59gun, she was sweaty. Okay, new tackling.
- 1:28:05I mean, I personally liked my Hook Line and Sinker Sinker, I
- 1:28:11like that. Okay, cool.
- 1:28:13Okay, so got reviews. Okay, there is a Roger Ebert
- 1:28:19review. I didn't choose it, but it's a
- 1:28:21point five. I just wanted to choose one that
- 1:28:24actually had things to say because I feel like, Roger
- 1:28:26Ebert. He's just like shit, some things
- 1:28:29without actually telling like giving a little jittery reason
- 1:28:32why he ate. So he just doesn't like horror
- 1:28:34so you know, All right, so this is like a one opt-in on IMDb.
- 1:28:38Okay, this person says, I understand that movies from our
- 1:28:42youth, sometimes seem better than they are.
- 1:28:44I get that in its time. It was likely groundbreaking
- 1:28:47however, as someone who hadn't seen it before and therefore had
- 1:28:50no nostalgic ties to it, it was an awful waste of time.
- 1:28:53I can do with old-school effects.
- 1:28:56The special effects makeup was the only impressive part of this
- 1:28:58film for me, considering how old it is but the complete lack of
- 1:29:01plot and lack of explanation of character motivation, made it
- 1:29:04hard to finish. It wasn't entertaining in any
- 1:29:07way relying heavily on shot Gore and pretentious over explanation
- 1:29:11of the viewer. Also, I was truly disappointed
- 1:29:14to find out how not scary and rather weak.
- 1:29:17The iconic Pinhead is his demise and the other Centos was highly
- 1:29:21unlikely. An utterly unbelievable.
- 1:29:24Really sad this didn't live up to the hype.
- 1:29:27Yeah, I think this is definitely somebody who heard about
- 1:29:29Hellraiser as a franchise and went in expecting one thing and
- 1:29:32got the other day I wanted to see.
- 1:29:33Cenobites it was a pinhead Kick shit.
- 1:29:36But I don't agree with them about it relying on like shock
- 1:29:40value and Gore because they then go on to say about how there's
- 1:29:45over explanation. Yeah but it's like you said
- 1:29:48before it's a drama and I guess clearly this doesn't have to be
- 1:29:52everybody's cup of tea cuz yeah, it's all yours.
- 1:29:55Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:29:56For different reasons. But yeah why is what it is or
- 1:30:01how people see it that way. But yeah, I can definitely
- 1:30:03understand why somebody would be like let down the first time
- 1:30:06they watch this. Yeah.
- 1:30:07Like I get it having a built up by all kinds of people and then
- 1:30:10you're going in here, and this is what it is.
- 1:30:12Yeah. It's see the, it's just one of
- 1:30:13those like I just, I understand it, but I don't get it.
- 1:30:17Yeah. If that makes any sense, always
- 1:30:20you understand it. This person didn't understand
- 1:30:21it. I think that they're better off
- 1:30:23watching the later Hellraiser movies where they focus more on
- 1:30:27this in a B. I mean, even to has a lot more
- 1:30:29because they're like, hell, most of the time and that movie, this
- 1:30:32movie really wasn't about the son of B know it.
- 1:30:36So, but they became so popular that they took over the
- 1:30:38franchise but like Julia was supposed to be like the villain
- 1:30:43straight. Yeah.
- 1:30:44Like Clive Barker even said so himself.
- 1:30:46I think so you know take it for what you want but it's
- 1:30:49different. It's not.
- 1:30:50This isn't that movie? Okay, I got some listener
- 1:30:54reviews. Okay, so we will start off on
- 1:30:58Instagram Cube saves. He says a comfort movie for me.
- 1:31:01I romance Thriller with a sexy pain.
- 1:31:04Oh no. A romance Thriller with sexy.
- 1:31:07Pain demons. What's not to love.
- 1:31:09I do like that description of it.
- 1:31:11Yeah, a romance. I think of how people should
- 1:31:13always describe this movie. Yeah, with sexy pain.
- 1:31:16Yeah. It's not about sex.
- 1:31:17Yeah. Yeah, I like it.
- 1:31:21Alright, Michael Lee Howard. He's got his, he says, at first
- 1:31:26glance Hellraiser seems like a dive into a dark and gross world
- 1:31:29of body horror, but at its core Hellraiser is a movie all about
- 1:31:32Hedonism and the depravity that This deep inside ourselves does
- 1:31:37one given to their urges or resist them.
- 1:31:40I have been a fan of this film for years, for a bug Ted movie
- 1:31:43from 1987. The effects are pretty good as
- 1:31:46well. 8 out of 10. All right.
- 1:31:48I like it. Yeah, I think that the, I think
- 1:31:49this movie looks great and I embrace the cheesy 80s effects
- 1:31:53because it's like, I think just in that one moment gets bad.
- 1:31:58I so appreciate it, but I think all the Practical effects are
- 1:32:00incredible in this, and I do like the take on it, that it's
- 1:32:04like, looking. Young at human depravity and how
- 1:32:07will how low you're willing to go.
- 1:32:09And I think Julia's character really embodies that especially
- 1:32:13because she's like, do do I sink down to this place?
- 1:32:18Yeah, it's out on like, a bunch of different levels.
- 1:32:21Like, you know, Frank is like, you know, how he'll go.
- 1:32:24Yeah, you know, you see that but then yeah, it's pulling somebody
- 1:32:28else down to that level 2 and seeing that transition and how
- 1:32:32it affects everybody else around them.
- 1:32:34It's definitely interesting. I like that.
- 1:32:36Take on a lot over on Twitter. Chad says, truly a nun.
- 1:32:41Fuck with the bull movie even if the very last scene is wonky
- 1:32:44doesn't matter when the rest of the flick is, so damn good.
- 1:32:47Yeah, we have literally had just like the last 30 seconds the
- 1:32:49movie. Yeah, it's be totally fine.
- 1:32:52I think people's problems are like the lightning and the house
- 1:32:55just burning down half-heartedly.
- 1:32:58I could just doesn't care anymore.
- 1:33:00Aqua a boob says oh I remember the VHS cover alone.
- 1:33:04Scare the shit out. Me as a kid.
- 1:33:06It's creepy, the effects are wild and it has one hell of a
- 1:33:08memorable demon or whatever. The fuck Pinhead is yeah, sexy
- 1:33:12pain demon. Yeah.
- 1:33:14And I had read that, apparently all of the center by its had
- 1:33:18speaking Parts originally in the script, but the makeup on the
- 1:33:24other two kept them from being able to speak.
- 1:33:26So all of the wines went to Pinhead and the throat.
- 1:33:31So that's why like Pinhead kind of stole the show.
- 1:33:33I think that like, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:33:35Guy like the best wines for sure.
- 1:33:37I thought deepthroat honestly had like more screen time than
- 1:33:40yeah. I think so too.
- 1:33:41Yeah. Because like deep throat.
- 1:33:44Someone that chases Kersey. Yeah.
- 1:33:46Right. After everything goes down.
- 1:33:48Like that's the most aggressive said by out of them.
- 1:33:52That's it. Okay, deserve you.
- 1:33:54So, thank you guys for participating.
- 1:33:56We appreciate reading those and okay, so where we got next week
- 1:34:01we're going back to the woods but room.
- 1:34:03That's right. We got our franchise or actual
- 1:34:05franchise recovery next week. Yes, I'm very excited.
- 1:34:08It's scream 55 cream or scream 2022.
- 1:34:11I guess it really just depends on what level of nerd you are
- 1:34:15right now. You can watch it on Paramount
- 1:34:18Plus or prime premium or you can rent it from Red Box.
- 1:34:21YouTube Google play or Voodoo. I think it's worth a watch.
- 1:34:25I'm curious to see how I land on it next week.
- 1:34:30Yeah, that's the one that you and I have been.
- 1:34:32Yeah. I constantly flip-flop on it.
- 1:34:34Every time I watch it. I have a different opinion.
- 1:34:36So I'm curious to see what opinion I have next week for
- 1:34:38analyzing it. Yeah, me too.
- 1:34:40Okay. So yeah, watch the give us a
- 1:34:43review whenever we ask for those next week and just kind of tune
- 1:34:48in next Thursday for whenever we do that.
- 1:34:50But Entire you can find us on patreon and joining the ranks of
- 1:34:55Eric and Phoebe if she could not scared Joe, Victor as is his
