SPEAKER_01: Imagine if your body could tell you exactly what it needs before burnout, stress, or illness take hold.
• 0:08
SPEAKER_01: That's exactly what we're exploring in today's conversation with Adrian Kochsic, founder and CEO of Health Tech company Onvi.
• 0:18
SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to the James Grandstrom Podcast Super Soul Model Series.
• 0:21
SPEAKER_01: This week I'm joined by Adrian Kochsig, who is the founder and CEO of Onvi, where he's building the future of personalized health, AI, data, longevity, and preventative wellness.
• 0:33
SPEAKER_01: But what really interests me about Adrian after getting to know him for about the last month or so is the story behind his success.
• 0:41
SPEAKER_01: And at just 18 years old, Adrian was diagnosed with cancer and he spent a year in chemo.
• 0:47
SPEAKER_01: And around that same age, I had something similar, a similar challenge, which was a near-fatal car crash.
• 0:54
SPEAKER_01: And although these are different sets of challenges, there's something that leaves a mark on your life as a result, and it forces you to look at life slightly differently.
• 1:06
SPEAKER_01: So and what I respect most about Adrian is not only that he's built incredible companies, incredible businesses, and achieved a lot professionally, but he's also done a lot of inner work.
• 1:16
SPEAKER_01: So today we're going to cover some serious ground and we're going to talk about health, longevity, AI, resilience, masculine leadership, and ultimately what it means to create a life from a place of purpose.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_01: Welcome to the episode.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks for having me.
• 1:30
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks, James.
• 1:31
SPEAKER_01: So if we were to just wind back to see how your story began, because that's always the best place to begin.
• 1:38
SPEAKER_01: You know, you've had some serious success when it comes to business, but at the same time, that's not the driver behind what you've created.
• 1:46
SPEAKER_01: So would you be so kind as to sort of take us back to maybe around the age of 18 when life took a bit of a turn for you?
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sure.
• 1:54
  SPEAKER_00: Happy to do so.
• 1:56
SPEAKER_00: Um, even though I have to say, uh short after that, I I felt I still had issues to speak about that very openly, but over time I realized that this actually is the biggest strength.
• 2:07
SPEAKER_00: If you uh when I switched my mind from why is this happening to me to what is this trying to teach me, I could pass over or hand over that kind of like experience as something that really uh shaped my character and uh shaped uh or paved the way for everything that I was about to come later on.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_00: So I would say I had kind of like a normal upbring or humble beginnings.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_00: We were growing up quite simple uh in in Munich, Germany.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_00: Um, so I needed to work for everything uh and start really from the bottom, didn't have real handouts or favors or came from an entrepreneurial legacy or so on.
• 2:50
SPEAKER_00: Um so I was always into working, learning, autodidactic, and uh, you know, learning my craft.
• 2:59
SPEAKER_00: Um but for some reason I was getting uh some bigger signs early in my life, I would say.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_00: Um but at the beginning I was not ready to read the signs yet.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, it's unconscious behavior, we don't know it until you have some type of awakening or something that challenges you.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_01: You you're not gonna ask any deeper questions, are you?
• 3:22
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 3:22
SPEAKER_00: And sometimes you you get a lesson more often until you get the right uh learning out of it.
• 3:27
  SPEAKER_00: And sure.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_00: That happened for me in this time between 14, 15, 16, 17.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_00: I was a bit of a rebel uh child, I will say I was uh having my issues, but uh yeah.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_00: I I can I can agree how similar to you.
• 3:41
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, coming back to your question, um, short after my 18th birthday, uh there was a big shock moment, obviously, for me and my entire uh family.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_00: I got diagnosed with uh lymphoma.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_00: It was a very aggressive cancer, and we needed to start chemotherapy immediately.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_00: So the doctors, I remember the doctors said because you're 18 years old, you have chances to survive the chemo.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_00: So they put such an aggressive chemo, they didn't speak about survival odds of uh the cancer I had.
• 4:11
SPEAKER_00: They said the treatment we're doing is so aggressive, but you have a chance to survive it because you're in that age.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_00: So that was the kind of like beginning of this over a year in uh a hospital I spent.
• 4:23
SPEAKER_00: And obviously, then um, yeah, you're going through hell.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_00: Uh you you're alone with that essentially because uh you learned that uh you're on this journey, nobody can really help you, right?
• 4:36
SPEAKER_01: And did you have you both your parents or did you have any siblings?
• 4:39
SPEAKER_01: You have any brothers or sisters?
• 4:41
  SPEAKER_00: I do.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_00: I do have an uh older sister, I do have a younger brother, um, I do uh have a great family.
• 4:48
  SPEAKER_00: My mother is amazing.
• 4:50
SPEAKER_00: Um my actual biological father left two, three weeks before my birth, but uh my stepfather is my father to me.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_00: So he's just like yeah, yeah.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_01: So through this period of time, what were you feeling, you know, when you when you're diagnosed with something like that?
• 5:07
  SPEAKER_01: That's a great question.
• 5:09
SPEAKER_00: Um I think for me, if I if I look back after the diagnosis, the first two weeks were the hardest.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_00: Because it's like normally, you know, if you imagine now in your life you wake up and you're like, okay, let's attack the day, let's get some sun out there, or whatever it is, or let's get to work.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_00: But in the first two weeks after a diagnosis, like that, it's like you're coming from a different universe, you're coming from sleep, you wake up and you get the diagnosis again.
• 5:35
SPEAKER_00: You wake up and your first the first thing that comes to your mind is like shit, I got cancer.
• 5:39
SPEAKER_00: And that's crazy because then this kind of like really brings you into dark places because then you you start to think about these things like what if, what if, right?
• 5:49
SPEAKER_00: You think about yeah, uh, and that's that was the only time I thought about that ever is like when I imagined that my mother would have to stand on my graveyard, and I said, I I can't do that to that woman, she won't survive.
• 6:03
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I made a decision that day and said, No matter what kind of survival odds, no matter what any doctor is uh telling, like I'm going to make it no matter what.
• 6:13
SPEAKER_00: And that was my mindset.
• 6:14
SPEAKER_00: The other thing didn't even play a role in my universe anymore.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_00: For me, that was like, okay, this takes this amount of time, and I'm coming back stronger than ever because there's a job that needs to be done, and there is a lot, a lot of things that I want to give this world.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_00: So I took a decision to survive.
• 6:31
  SPEAKER_00: So it's a decision, it was a decision, it's a mental game.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_00: I think when you're in the hospital with something like that, it's it's a mental game, and afterwards it becomes more like you know, all this physical uh nutrition, longevity side of things.
• 6:45
SPEAKER_00: But in that moment, I I see it clearly in front of my eyes.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_00: There were several moments where I felt and I knew this is mind over matter, this is a mental game right now.
• 6:57
SPEAKER_01: Well, I guess if you your physical body is failing in that time, the only thing you really have left is the mind.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_01: And if you can be in charge of that, then you have a chance, right?
• 7:10
SPEAKER_01: And some people don't have a chance because maybe they don't have that mental toughness.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_01: So I've got a question for you.
• 7:15
SPEAKER_01: Where do you think that toughness came from?
• 7:18
SPEAKER_01: Was that inside of you already, or is it something you had to reach down and grab inside of you?
• 7:23
SPEAKER_00: Me personally, I think um that it's almost a philosophical question, but me personally, I think that one thing is this very lifetime is like the experiences you go through, uh your environment, the challenges you face that uh that shape or strengthen you and that shape your character if you take ownership and if you um see every obstacle as an opportunity to grow.
• 7:51
SPEAKER_00: And on the other side, me personally, I believe like that's my personal belief.
• 7:55
SPEAKER_00: I don't think in one life and after that uh you go to heaven or hell.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_00: I think my soul is I'm an immortal being, and this is just the avatar I'm walking through through this life, and I think that a certain package already comes with the soul to this planet.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so we're going even deeper straight away.
• 8:12
  SPEAKER_01: I like it.
• 8:13
SPEAKER_01: So you're basically saying this is a costume, this physical form, and the soul comes knowing what it's gonna have to experience, and you're either gonna say yes to it or you're not gonna say yes to it.
• 8:25
  SPEAKER_01: Essentially, yes, yep.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: Okay, and you know, we're all given different sets of challenges.
• 8:30
SPEAKER_01: You know, in my case, it was a near-fatal car crash, then a drinking problem, and then I somehow managed to dive deep within myself to go, this is not who I choose.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_00: How did you overcome it?
• 8:43
SPEAKER_01: Uh well, how did I overcome what?
• 8:45
  SPEAKER_01: The car crash?
• 8:46
  SPEAKER_01: The the drinking problem.
• 8:47
SPEAKER_01: I was the drinking problem.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, number one, I prayed.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_01: Because I was like, where else do I go?
• 8:55
SPEAKER_01: I don't know where else to go.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_01: And because the drinking happened after the car crash, I I had already felt like that that was already a miracle because my logical mind, which was very skeptical about everything, just looked at it and just go, There's absolutely no way that you'd get out of this.
• 9:14
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I did, and so did my friend.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_01: So it just made me think, wow, okay, there is only one way, and that's up or within, you know, whichever way you want to describe it.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_01: And, you know, I just really thought I'd pray and I said, Listen, I need help, I don't know where to go.
• 9:29
SPEAKER_01: And I wasn't necessarily gonna ask anybody where to go, because maybe there was a part of me that was too proud to go, where do I go?
• 9:36
SPEAKER_01: So I just thought, I'm gonna go within.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_01: And actually, for the first time ever, I received three signs that I actually noticed.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm sure life and I believe that life is always talking to you.
• 9:47
SPEAKER_01: You know, there is a uh the essence of life is always talking to you, whether you're aware of it or not, you just have to be aware, and I guess that this has been a massive journey of awareness, which is why I love doing this show and having amazing guests such as yourself on here, is because as you grow in awareness, you might see something, and and it might be just the message you needed.
• 10:11
SPEAKER_01: And for me, it was three signs of learning how to meditate in one week, in one week.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'd never really known what a meditation was, I didn't know what it was.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't some sitting in a cave, I was like, uh that's not for me.
• 10:25
SPEAKER_01: But when I got these three signs, one which was a TV show and what it did to the brain, I was like, that's interesting.
• 10:31
  SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_01: Then, and then because my mind's like, well, that could open areas of your brain.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_01: I was interested, and then it was going to get a C D uh of brainwave to slow the brain wave down because I recognized that beta brain waves are the ones that are most active, but if you could get yourself down into an alpha theta wave pattern, the body begins to heal.
• 10:52
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, that could be interesting.
• 10:55
SPEAKER_01: Um, and then I saw a sign like for a post, learn how to meditate.
• 11:00
SPEAKER_01: But it was the CD.
• 11:01
SPEAKER_01: When I went to go and buy it, the guy said, No, don't buy the C D, go and learn the real thing.
• 11:06
SPEAKER_01: Okay, so so I was like, Why not?
• 11:09
  SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll I'll try it out.
• 11:10
SPEAKER_01: Amazing, and then having tried it out, that's within within a weekend I knew what to do, which was I was given a mantra, just say it quietly, do it two times a day, and then within four months, I'd change my diet, within four months I'd stopped drinking, and within four months I had the most insane amount of energy.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_01: And topping that, I'll run the London Marathon.
• 11:34
SPEAKER_01: Wow, uh, pretty much just like flat, amazing.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_01: And then I started to have some very unusual spiritual experiences that happen as a result.
• 11:44
SPEAKER_01: It's just like everything that I was thinking about was just popping up, like instant manifestation, one after the other after the other.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_01: Sounds like a lot of alignment.
• 11:51
SPEAKER_01: So it was like a lot of alignment, but maybe that happens because there's a lot of resistance before it's like the band gets so far pulled back, and then as soon as you let go and there's no resistance anymore, bang, you just fly.
• 12:02
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:03
  SPEAKER_01: So that's my story.
• 12:06
SPEAKER_01: But what I really appreciate and love about your story is you know what you did with what happened, you know, after having the chemo, what happened, what you did with your life as a result of coming back.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_01: Because most young guys find it really challenging in this world as it is.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_01: And I think what the world needs more than anything is great role models of people who've been through hell and still come back and kept their heart open, be a decent person, uh, not always perfect, but decent, you know, and I think you represent that.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_01: That's what this whole podcast is about bringing people together who are demonstrating qualities of you know, healthy masculinity, of great success, but also with that inner consciousness awareness, which is when I first met you, I said, you know, one of the most important things was a sense of integrity, and you demonstrated that, and I was I was really taken aback by that.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_01: And what I love about your story is what you did next.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_01: So, what happened, you know, with regards to building companies from that comeback after you know surviving that cancer?
• 13:10
SPEAKER_00: First of all, I really appreciate uh everything you just said.
• 13:13
SPEAKER_00: I don't take it for granted, so I really appreciate it.
• 13:15
  SPEAKER_00: Want to say that.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, to your question, I had that moment that all the things that happened so early in my life, which weirdly was the biggest stroke of luck.
• 13:28
SPEAKER_00: If you if if such things happen so early, you take the right learning out of it, you have a long life that you could live very conscious and very aware.
• 13:37
SPEAKER_00: And I was getting these hard knocks very early in life.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh, that was just one story, but obviously uh a big one.
• 13:45
SPEAKER_00: And I had these moments then obviously that I understood I'm getting prepared for something.
• 13:52
SPEAKER_00: Right now, I'm on I'm in the training season and I'm getting these hard knocks to get prepared to take certain things to a place where other people might could never take it to.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_00: And I I always seek to understand.
• 14:06
SPEAKER_00: So I was very young when I was diving super deep into different topics in on this planet, whether it's financial, whether it's healthcare, whether it's you know, education, food, etc.
• 14:18
  SPEAKER_00: etc.
• 14:18
SPEAKER_00: And after a while you can connect the dots differently.
• 14:21
SPEAKER_00: And then I saw uh or I looked at the biggest problems we're facing on planet Earth right now, and I I saw that I I felt that I was getting prepared to create a massive impact.
• 14:34
SPEAKER_00: Um, and that's how my entrepreneurial journey started.
• 14:36
SPEAKER_00: And I told you I'm not coming from an entrepreneurial legacy or entrepreneurial family or something that was handed over to me.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_00: So I I started all of that um from scratch uh actually, but because of my history, obviously it was very close or near to create that impact in healthcare because we're living in still in a time where we're so progressive with all our technologies, but and we're still living in a reactive sick care system where all chronic conditions go through the roof, and we're not really doing something for personalized prevention.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_00: Um now we have all these longevity hypes.
• 15:09
SPEAKER_00: But if you look at the stats, you see, and you you can go through every chronic uh disease condition, whether it's metabolic health, mental health, cancer, you name it, respiratory disease, all of them go skyrocket, all of them go through the roof, even though we're so progressive as mankind.
• 15:24
SPEAKER_00: So um there's a big job that needs to uh get done to help people to become healthy, and a healthy body allows for a healthy mind, and we need uh a worry, conscious people.
• 15:35
  SPEAKER_00: Well, very true.
• 15:36
SPEAKER_01: I mean, um my journey is definitely one of that.
• 15:39
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you can in modeling, which is what I was doing before I started, this was you could make the body look good, yeah, but that doesn't mean the mind feels good, exactly, and you know, it's an illusion.
• 15:53
SPEAKER_01: So to have a healthy body and a healthy mind is a wonderful balance to have, and then I think you get to experience, which is the soul, you know, a lot a lot more quality living.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_01: And you know, for me, the meditation was an opportunity for me, in my experience, to be able to prevent more resistance that I'd created for so many years in my life.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_01: But what you're doing is you're helping people with AI and data and an iOS system.
• 16:25
  SPEAKER_01: Tell us about that.
• 16:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um the current uh company uh it's called Onvi uh O N V Y.
• 16:33
  SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
• 16:35
SPEAKER_00: Uh that's something that we said, it's a secret that we will uh we will make it public once we go APO.
• 16:43
  SPEAKER_00: So okay.
• 16:44
SPEAKER_00: So when the IPO comes out, you'll tell us what it is, right?
• 16:47
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 16:47
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_00: And um I better get shares before.
• 16:53
SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, we're essentially we're building a personal health OS.
• 16:57
SPEAKER_00: OS stands for operating system uh infrastructure.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_00: That means we we are able to fuse and merge multiple health and wellness data uh streams like uh all data coming from a wearable technology like the Smart Ring or an Apple Watch, etc.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_00: There are a lot of brands out there like Apple, Google, Samsung, Ura, Whoop, you name it.
• 17:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_00: Um and with this we can collect all the data around.
• 17:20
SPEAKER_00: So all you're doing is wearing a ring.
• 17:21
SPEAKER_00: Is that all all I'm me personally?
• 17:23
SPEAKER_00: I'm just wearing the ring, yeah.
• 17:24
SPEAKER_00: But you can just wear this uh this ring, um, and in the same platform or the same solution, you can upload your latest lab data.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_00: You can um uh feed it with your nutritional values, with your genetic values.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_00: And now you have something like a personal health intelligence that is enriched with all that context and is getting smarter on a day-to-day basis.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_00: And now we're going towards prevention, predictive uh health technologies that uh empower you to uh essentially reach and maintain an ideal uh state of health and vitality.
• 17:57
SPEAKER_00: But we do that in the B2B context, so we empower brands, retailers, bigger companies in health, wellness, longevity to plug in that core technology uh for better services.
• 18:07
SPEAKER_01: I was reading some stats uh before coming on today, and one of the things that I came across was which I was actually quite shocked by, was that in the States, 47% of people have like smartwatches.
• 18:21
  SPEAKER_00: Is that true?
• 18:22
  SPEAKER_00: I think it's 46.
• 18:23
SPEAKER_00: 46% uh in the US do have a wearable um eight, I think even 18 or 70 per 17 percent have two at the same time, so it's no longer a niche topic.
• 18:38
SPEAKER_00: It really reached mass adoption, especially in the US.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_00: Uh the biggest consumer wellness market that at the same time has the biggest issues with chronic uh condition and sick care spending, plus a different kind of like insurance system that's uh you know doesn't cover everything.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_01: So, how how how's life changing?
• 18:58
SPEAKER_01: Because what I've noticed is people are living longer because we have more access to greater wellness, but yet there's also a little challenge where there's also younger people dying earlier through mental challenges.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_01: You know, I've come to see a lot more people having more mental health issues, but there's always been mental health issues, but it seems to have like escalated but since COVID.
• 19:22
  SPEAKER_01: Why is that?
• 19:24
SPEAKER_00: Well, first to your first part, um living longer, that's the debate of lifespan versus health span.
• 19:32
SPEAKER_00: Right now, you can extend lifespan, but with what kind of quality of life, right?
• 19:37
SPEAKER_00: So if you're living with a chronic condition 20 years longer, is that really helpful for you?
• 19:44
  SPEAKER_00: Right?
• 19:44
SPEAKER_00: So I really focus on switching this whole longevity discussion from extending lifespan towards optimizing your health span, which is a big one, uh, in my opinion, especially looking at all these chronic conditions, uh, etc.
• 19:59
SPEAKER_00: Um, now to the second part, yeah, it's it's absolutely uh uh yeah, it's shocking, it's frightening.
• 20:06
SPEAKER_00: But if you look at all these mental health stats, it's absolutely crazy, and you can attack it from any possible angle.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_00: We have a loneliness epidemic at the moment.
• 20:14
  SPEAKER_01: A what?
• 20:15
  SPEAKER_00: A loneliness epidemic.
• 20:17
SPEAKER_00: So people feel we're actually with uh with the internet and the technology, we're more connected than ever, but we feel lonelier than ever.
• 20:25
  SPEAKER_00: Why is that?
• 20:26
SPEAKER_00: Well, me personally, I think a lot of health questions could get answered from an evolutionary uh viewpoint.
• 20:35
SPEAKER_00: So the way how it used to be is like we were living in tribes, we had deep, meaningful social relationships that was bonding, and and in these days there is uh a lot of loneliness, especially in the big cities, which is interesting because you have so many people, one place, but people like in most cases don't even know what their neighbor is doing for work, or yeah, there's not more than a simple hello, you know.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, that's really interesting because when I moved here, one of the things that I really wanted was good neighbors, right?
• 21:08
SPEAKER_01: Because it just sort of adds a little bit of extra connection.
• 21:11
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_01: And you know, where I grew up, one of the things I noticed is that you'd always try and help each other out in some capacity, however small.
• 21:20
SPEAKER_01: And that's actually really meaningful.
• 21:22
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 21:23
SPEAKER_01: Um but when there's loneliness, is that because we've forgotten or younger generation have forgotten how to connect or don't know how to connect?
• 21:32
SPEAKER_00: Don't underestimate technology, all the good and all the bad sides of it, because these algorithms get very, very good in uh messing up your neurotransmitters, the dopamine, uh, and uh and you know, if you if you now spend so much time inside artificial light in front of these machines, not outside with the people, with the crowd, that does something.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_00: And we could take so many avenues now that.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_00: Let's speak about porn, for example.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_00: You know, men and if you wat recently I saw uh a stat uh of uh how many daily visits of all porn sites combined that was insane.
• 22:13
SPEAKER_00: It's like literally I don't get the number, but it it's like literally an eighth of the world is consuming porn on a day-to-day basis, it's insane.
• 22:19
SPEAKER_00: And that also does something with your system.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_00: There's so many avenues you you could uh go now.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_00: Also, that this I think that this uh generation is becoming a little soft uh in these days, and uh there's a a shortcoming or lack of purpose and mission.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so but I think mission really comes from having your own life be challenged.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_00: And I want to sorry to interrupt you because this is something that actually matches perfectly because of the neighbor example.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you see a greater um a greater mindset or a greater tone of belonging in a society or a country where people need each other, right?
• 23:02
SPEAKER_00: Like I need my neighbor because maybe on one day I need the salt or I need some meat or whatever.
• 23:08
SPEAKER_00: And now maybe it was just too good for too long that people are staying, you know, the curtain in their own little bubble and not speak with each other anymore.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which uh I think I think that sometimes you need to have the opposite to recognize how important it really is.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 23:25
SPEAKER_01: And like yesterday, I I had loads of stuff that I had my family come and visit, and I had stuff that they gave to me, and I was like, I don't need this stuff.
• 23:34
SPEAKER_01: So I knocked on my neighbour's door and I said, Would you like this?
• 23:38
SPEAKER_01: And she said, Yeah, that would be great.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_01: It would be great for the kids.
• 23:41
  SPEAKER_01: I was like, fantastic.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_01: So I just gave her all this sort of food that I wouldn't consume.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_01: And she was really grateful, and then she said, I've got something for you.
• 23:48
SPEAKER_01: And you know, it was just this lovely share and this just little moment, and I was just thought, wow, this is this is beautiful.
• 23:54
SPEAKER_01: It's so it's like five minutes, but it makes you feel like it makes you feel good.
• 24:00
  SPEAKER_01: 100%.
• 24:01
SPEAKER_01: There's something that I just wanted to share because you said that there's a loneliness epidemic.
• 24:06
SPEAKER_01: One thing I was reading recently, and I really liked it.
• 24:08
SPEAKER_01: There's a difference between solitude and loneliness.
• 24:12
SPEAKER_01: And solitude is the gift and beauty of actually being alone and being silent, which is actually considered positive, right?
• 24:22
SPEAKER_00: I think there are different types.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_00: Like some people they get energy of going into the crowd, right?
• 24:27
SPEAKER_00: And getting surrounded by people.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_00: For me, it's actually the opposite.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_00: When I want to recharge, yeah, I you know, I remove myself from crowd of the world.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_00: I go into the I go somewhere in the nature, whether it's the forest or close to the ocean, and then I can recharge.
• 24:43
SPEAKER_00: And that's something a little bit paranoid, but I'm like, I'm I'm working on my mission, work, work, work, and then I do my sports, and then always like after a month or so, I'm like, man, we're social beings.
• 24:53
SPEAKER_00: Somehow I need to socialize.
• 24:55
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then I would socialize, and after five minutes, like, no, no, no, let me get back.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 25:00
SPEAKER_01: It's a it's you know, it's a it's like the ocean, in and out, exactly, in and out.
• 25:04
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 25:05
SPEAKER_01: But going back to that thing, the loneliness is also considered the negative, right?
• 25:09
SPEAKER_01: Of solitude being the positive side of the coin.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_01: And that's only because you're out of alignment.
• 25:17
SPEAKER_01: So loneliness only happens when you feel out of alignment, and solitude comes when you're in alignment.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_01: Because you know, there's some days when you think, Oh, I can't wait to just you know do my own thing this evening, you know.
• 25:29
SPEAKER_01: Maybe you have like a drink, or you're watching, you know, the sunset, you're gonna do some writing, or you're gonna be creative, or you're just like, I just want this night to myself because I've been so busy.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_01: That's beautiful, yeah.
• 25:39
SPEAKER_01: But when you're like, Oh, I am in desperate need for connection, that's because at some level we're not connecting.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_00: So I really feel for the people who feel like that, which is the same thing for when choosing a partner and you feel like I'm not whole, I need to be completed.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're asking for a void to be filled.
• 26:02
SPEAKER_01: So if one feels lonely, I'm gonna go to a party, so I get stimulated.
• 26:06
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_01: And if I get stimulated with drugs or alcohol or whatever, then I feel better.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_01: You will for a moment, but then that feeling will remain, even stronger.
• 26:16
SPEAKER_01: But if I can recharge my battery, like what you were saying with like exercise or going to the beach or walking in the forest, that resets you and comes back.
• 26:26
SPEAKER_01: So, how does the data on your OS, how does that sort of work?
• 26:32
SPEAKER_01: Because I'm just wondering if it can measure these types of feelings and the feedback that it gives people, because this then gives people a real thing, thinking, Do you know what this is this can this can help me?
• 26:43
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you've been on an absolute mission for that.
• 26:46
SPEAKER_00: Essentially, that's exactly what we do.
• 26:48
SPEAKER_00: We make all these things really measurable, and it's uh we quantify it.
• 26:55
SPEAKER_00: So you would even see the impact of certain environmental factors on your health and well-being when you spend time in the forest, when you spend time at the ocean, you would see what happens to your stress.
• 27:04
SPEAKER_00: Can it do it when you go to a nightclub?
• 27:06
SPEAKER_00: Of course, because you would continue to measure all these different parameters like uh your stress levels, your recovery rates, how did you sleep on that day, um, etc.
• 27:17
  SPEAKER_00: etc.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_00: But there is an interesting aspect because some people get so crazy and obsessed about this data, and I'm always, even though I'm running a company that uh is in the health OS space, I'm always telling the people this is an instrument, this is technology that should help you, that shouldn't dictate how you live your life.
• 27:36
SPEAKER_00: You are a conscious being and you are in charge here.
• 27:39
SPEAKER_00: So, you know, if you have a bad night's sleep, but therefore had the best time of your life with loved ones and you know, great memories, what's good up till 4 a.m.
• 27:49
  SPEAKER_00: or whatever.
• 27:50
SPEAKER_00: If that happens, then that happens.
• 27:51
SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying, you know, uh forget about your sleep, but I think you get my point that there's a balance in in the things, and if you make yourself crazy about the data and the numbers, then it also has an impact on your health and well-being.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_01: So why is it that we go crazy on numbers?
• 28:07
SPEAKER_01: As in, what you know, what what makes us drive to feel like oh, I need to have, I need to check these numbers all the time.
• 28:13
  SPEAKER_00: I think it's a sense of control.
• 28:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you can't manage what you don't measure, so we like to quantify things, and then it gives us a sense of I'm in charge, I'm in control, I can steer that ship.
• 28:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's a healthy level of a control, but then sometimes underneath that control, there's like fear.
• 28:29
SPEAKER_01: That's where the balance comes in.
• 28:31
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like uh I'm really saying So, how does your company sort of fit in that nice slot?
• 28:37
SPEAKER_00: I think that's something that really happens on a on a personal level.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_00: The way how we attack that or how we solve that is that the way how we translate this complex multi-source health and wellness data, there is a tone of voice, right?
• 28:51
SPEAKER_00: You could say, Oh my god, your your sleep was all over the place, you might die.
• 28:56
  SPEAKER_00: I'm exaggerating now.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_00: But you can also say, Hey, don't worry, this day, uh, take it a bit slow, uh, and let's prepare you for a good sleep, but you're good, right?
• 29:05
SPEAKER_00: So you can set the tone uh if you are fear-mongering or if you still give the person a good stuff.
• 29:12
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you've got to find that beautiful balance.
• 29:15
SPEAKER_01: Do you think uh in your experience, because you know, you've taken care of yourself, you look after your body, you've taken care of your mind.
• 29:25
SPEAKER_01: Where does that natural aspect versus the OS, how do they sit side by side?
• 29:30
  SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
• 29:32
  SPEAKER_00: And I don't think there's a general answer for that.
• 29:34
SPEAKER_00: I think you make uh strong, aware, conscious people even stronger because they know how to use these instruments, and I think you have a a second bucket that uh look looks at this data and it's like it's too much for me, you know.
• 29:48
SPEAKER_00: Um so there's no general answer.
• 29:50
  SPEAKER_00: It's like who's the pilot?
• 29:52
  SPEAKER_00: Who's looking at that?
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_01: I love that.
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_01: Who's the pilot?
• 29:54
  SPEAKER_01: Who's the driver?
• 29:54
SPEAKER_01: The mind is the driver, right?
• 29:56
SPEAKER_01: This is I've always said that mind's the driver, the body's the vehicle.
• 29:58
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 29:59
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, for someone like me using an OS system, I can see the benefits of it, but I've listened to my body for like 25 years.
• 30:08
SPEAKER_01: I know what it needs.
• 30:09
SPEAKER_01: I feel like all my, you know, this is crazy, but like even more recently, I've been buying beetroot.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_01: I've been buying beetroot, and I mean I'm not really a beetroot fan, I'm gonna be honest, but I know what it can do for the body, I know what it can do for the blood, I know the nitric oxide that it produces and gives me to fuel my fitness and fuel my energy and stamina.
• 30:28
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's insane.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_01: And I use it and make a you know, a smoothie in the morning, and like my body's like, thank you, thank you for listening.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_01: Yep, and you know, like I've tried and I played five-aside football and I played tennis or pattern, I've done it, and it's um it's incredible the results I have.
• 30:43
  SPEAKER_01: I'm just not tired.
• 30:46
SPEAKER_01: But like I'm listening to something that my body needs, which it wouldn't like, it's like you know, I hadn't had it for months, and then suddenly it's like, yeah, get that in.
• 30:54
SPEAKER_00: But that but that's the whole thing, right?
• 30:56
SPEAKER_00: So the way how I look at it is like, how can we solve modern problems with modern solutions?
• 31:02
SPEAKER_00: If everybody would be like James and knows how to listen to your own system and feels like, oh, now I need this, now I need this.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_01: I think this is an absolute stepping stone, it's a it's a master, mastery, and a stepping stone to being able to listen.
• 31:14
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_01: Because we have such a busy world as well.
• 31:16
  SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_00: You have cognitive overstimulation, you have digital overload, you have all these distractions.
• 31:22
SPEAKER_00: Just what we're recording, probably we will compete with uh Netflix and YouTube and Instagram and TikTok, Pornhub for some men and whatnot, right?
• 31:30
SPEAKER_00: So there is such a huge battle of uh attention, and that applies for each and every person.
• 31:38
SPEAKER_00: So, how could you be so grounded that you always listen to your own voice and know what you need at the moment when you get pulled into so many directions?
• 31:46
SPEAKER_00: It needs strength, inner strength at the end of the day.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so would you say your drive came from your life being absolutely put to a full stop almost at the age of 18?
• 32:00
SPEAKER_01: Where would you say that drive came from to be able to create these companies?
• 32:05
SPEAKER_01: To be able to create only?
• 32:07
  SPEAKER_00: I would say 90%, yes.
• 32:10
SPEAKER_00: Uh 90% uh pretty likely is just my very individual life path, everything that that happened, and if I'm telling my whole story, and most often you're only able to connect the dots backwards.
• 32:25
SPEAKER_00: Um it's just like it's all it's crazy because it's almost it's like in mosaic where the things needed to happen in that exact way.
• 32:36
SPEAKER_00: So now if people are asking me, well, how was it in that time when you went through hell?
• 32:40
SPEAKER_00: I was like, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
• 32:44
  SPEAKER_01: Isn't that interesting?
• 32:45
SPEAKER_01: That sometimes the people that have the hardest experiences think, you know what?
• 32:49
  SPEAKER_01: I'm really grateful I had that.
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I would say that exactly the same in my own experience.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't change anything because that was the the contrast that was the fertilizer for this version of me now that I'm proud of.
• 33:01
SPEAKER_01: The obstacle is the way.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_00: The obstacle is the way.
• 33:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm not at that, but I like that.
• 33:06
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's true.
• 33:08
SPEAKER_00: It's just like uh through adversity, we we learn so much, and there are certain moments in life when all you have is your inner strength, and and it's you versus you.
• 33:17
SPEAKER_00: There is nobody who can take this battle for you.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_00: And then these moments you really learn how strong you really are, and after that, it's like you know, other challenges come.
• 33:25
SPEAKER_00: Okay, how long do we need to to solve the problem?
• 33:28
  SPEAKER_00: A day, a week, a month, so what?
• 33:30
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
• 33:31
SPEAKER_00: I survived other things in life, and I know uh again certain things in life uh need to be done, and uh, and and I really feel a lot of responsibility and a lot of um where does that come from?
• 33:44
SPEAKER_00: Where does that responsibility come from?
• 33:46
  SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_00: Um, I think this is something now coming back to where we started again.
• 33:54
SPEAKER_00: I believe that I'm an immortal being.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_00: I think my soul has seen a lot of stuff uh on the whole time track.
• 34:01
SPEAKER_00: Now I'm this Avatar, this Adrian 6.3 blonde guy walking through this life, and I think that I have seen certain things before and I will experience certain things after.
• 34:13
SPEAKER_00: But when I connect all the dots and I'm seeing where we are right now in this lifetime for humanity, where I grew up with little Tamagotchis, and now, these 35 years later, we have radiation-emitting satellites around the orbit and super AI and robotics and quantum computing.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_00: This is a very deciding chapter for mankind, and we need to make sure that we get it right now, otherwise we will have uh unfortunately, I think we we otherwise have a dark future, so we have uh to make sure that the right people sit on the right tables when we decide how we're gonna use this powerful technology for or uh against mankind, and that's where my drive comes from.
• 34:57
SPEAKER_01: It's a responsibility to go, I want to make sure that the future and the next generations are better off because of the choices we made today.
• 35:04
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 35:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's beautiful, and I think it's important.
• 35:09
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I remember one of the things I always wanted to look up to when I was younger was men who were like, you know, they've got it all together.
• 35:20
SPEAKER_01: And sometimes when I remember looking up thinking, well, they haven't got it together.
• 35:25
SPEAKER_01: And then I remember being a young man thinking, Well, I've not got it together.
• 35:29
SPEAKER_01: And I remember having a conversation with God, with my inner being, saying, Listen, I want you to do this podcast.
• 35:37
SPEAKER_01: I was like, No, I don't want to do this podcast.
• 35:39
SPEAKER_01: I said, No, no, I want you to do the podcast.
• 35:41
SPEAKER_01: I was like, No, I don't want to do the podcast.
• 35:43
SPEAKER_01: And I waited for nine years or something like that to start and it came back again.
• 35:47
SPEAKER_01: So and then I banged my head right in the middle of the forehead and said, Look, are you gonna start now?
• 35:52
SPEAKER_01: Well, and that was like six years ago, almost a bit more.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_01: Um, and so yeah, I began, so I really had to listen, right?
• 36:00
SPEAKER_01: And I think it's because when you're flawed, when you recognize you're a human being, which means you're perfect and imperfect, you have imperfections and you've made mistakes and you own them, this makes you far more relatable.
• 36:15
SPEAKER_01: And I I really have such a uh credit and respect for people who are who can come back from adversity, making mistakes, owning them, and trying to course correct.
• 36:30
SPEAKER_01: Because that makes people think, do you know what?
• 36:32
  SPEAKER_01: We're human.
• 36:33
  SPEAKER_01: We can come back.
• 36:34
SPEAKER_00: I love that you say that, yeah, 100%.
• 36:37
SPEAKER_00: It's really that uh what what I love in in human beings as well is when I when I see a certain level of ownership when people own their stuff, they say, okay, here I got wrong.
• 36:48
SPEAKER_00: This is what I'm gonna fix, and I'm trying to use it for the good and try to maybe help others with this experience.
• 36:54
SPEAKER_00: You don't know how many people you can help.
• 36:56
SPEAKER_00: You could help just one person, but was it worth it?
• 36:59
  unknown: Yeah.
• 37:00
SPEAKER_00: That's the same thing with your podcast.
• 37:02
SPEAKER_00: That's why it's so beautiful that you do that, because you could never measure the impact of the podcast you do, because you don't know how many people might get inspired in the right moment by listening to a short snippet of the words that come out of your mouth that potentially prevents them from killing themselves or whatever is going on.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_00: You could never measure that impact.
• 37:20
SPEAKER_00: That's why it's really beautiful that you do what you do.
• 37:22
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks, man.
• 37:23
SPEAKER_01: And I uh I really appreciate that.
• 37:25
SPEAKER_01: And and that is the reason.
• 37:26
SPEAKER_01: The reason is being is if this is gonna put some, if this is gonna put some good vibes back into the world, if this is gonna uplift someone or be there for them when they need it, as you said, then that's the job well done.
• 37:37
SPEAKER_01: Everything is energy, everything is energy.
• 37:40
SPEAKER_01: Um just what just like in closing, like if there's one thing you'd like to leave the audience with today, what what one sentiment would you really like to leave?
• 37:52
  SPEAKER_00: That's uh that's a great question.
• 37:54
SPEAKER_00: And I like to simplify things, so I don't want to speak too long when it comes to a short uh short snippet, but at the end of the day, it's really that uh you would wonder what uh what's possible when you when you put your mind to some uh to something and you have a a strong goal and a vision for life, you have a strong purpose in life, there's literally no limit.
• 38:18
SPEAKER_00: You can achieve anything, um but take take every obstacle as an opportunity to grow and you're good to go.
• 38:26
  SPEAKER_00: Beautiful.
• 38:27
SPEAKER_01: Well, Adrian, my friend, it's been a real pleasure speaking with you.
• 38:32
SPEAKER_01: Um and I really love what you're doing.
• 38:35
SPEAKER_01: I love the person and appreciate the person you are in the world, and you know, wanting to stand up and take responsibility, I think that's really tough.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_01: And I really like it, and I think that's what the world needs a little bit more of.
• 38:47
  SPEAKER_01: So, Adrian, real pleasure.
• 38:49
SPEAKER_01: Thanks for coming on the show.
• 38:50
  SPEAKER_01: Thanks, James.
• 38:51
  SPEAKER_01: Appreciate it.
• 38:52
