- 0:43Speaker 3: Good morning, Good after Milgody. Where we are across the
- 0:48Speaker 3: tree and around the world, you are listening Ghost Stories
- 0:53Speaker 3: and the Unusual Paranormal Podcast. I'm indeed your host, Joe
- 0:58Speaker 3: the Ghost Guy. Hey, I hope everyone had a one
- 1:02Speaker 3: full weekend, and I know it's start going to be
- 1:07Speaker 3: started the you know, grueling work week. But hey, we
- 1:13Speaker 3: have to make a pound or two, or a dollar here,
- 1:16Speaker 3: dollar there, or whatever currency you use out there and
- 1:24Speaker 3: around the world. And I know I have to make
- 1:28Speaker 3: a buck tomorrow. And but before we do. Let's enjoy
- 1:36Speaker 3: our one full episode today and and uh, before we
- 1:42Speaker 3: get in today's episode, I have some news for everyone. First, Uh,
- 1:54Speaker 3: I don't know if anyone's heard about this, but you
- 1:58Speaker 3: know we one of her I think it was our
- 2:01Speaker 3: season one we did a story on this is about
- 2:07Speaker 3: and about the doll and you know how she was
- 2:12Speaker 3: a you know, gift from mother to daughter, mother givers
- 2:17Speaker 3: a you know, Christmas gifts, going to the nursing school.
- 2:21Speaker 3: And because our things started happening with it, the notes
- 2:26Speaker 3: and everything, and you know, of course there was a
- 2:31Speaker 3: couple of movies about it, and uh, and Lorraine Warren
- 2:35Speaker 3: ended up, you know, coming by and got possession of
- 2:40Speaker 3: the doll, and you know the evil things behind it,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you know, because of the death that she's caused and
- 2:51Speaker 3: almost deaths, but this came across that. I guess, Uh,
- 3:00Speaker 3: it's I guess Annabel was on a tour and right,
- 3:08Speaker 3: but you know she went to Pennsylvania. She went to
- 3:12Speaker 3: at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. And give her take if you think
- 3:19Speaker 3: it's you know, she had something to do with this
- 3:23Speaker 3: or not, It choice is yours. But it's kind of
- 3:28Speaker 3: funny that, you know, when you end up handling her
- 3:33Speaker 3: or whatever that you know, something might have you know,
- 3:39Speaker 3: hit it. But the guy name of Don Riviera, well,
- 3:47Speaker 3: he died on July thirteenth, one day after an event
- 3:51Speaker 3: featuring the famous doll. Don Dan Riveria was a professional
- 4:00Speaker 3: normal investigator who served in the US Army. I didn't
- 4:04Speaker 3: expectedly soon after showcasing the Annabel doll, which enthusiasts believed
- 4:11Speaker 3: to be democraally possessed. Police have said that there was
- 4:16Speaker 3: nothing unusual or specially suspicious president at the scene. Wonder
- 4:25Speaker 3: where the you know, I wonder where the doll was
- 4:29Speaker 3: at this time, but statement on Thursday, September fourth, Adams
- 4:34Speaker 3: County Corner said the cause of death was cardiac related.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Cause of death would have been determined of the paranormal
- 4:44Speaker 3: investigator whose body was found in July after event in Gettysburg,
- 4:49Speaker 3: Pennsylvania showing case in the famous doll Annabel. Annabelle Henry Rieira,
- 4:57Speaker 3: an Army veteran senior leader of the Investigator Connectic Connect
- 5:04Speaker 3: based New England Society for the Psychic Research, died July thirteenth,
- 5:10Speaker 3: one day after the band with purpooredly haunted toy that
- 5:16Speaker 3: long has been future in horror tales. Francis Ture, the
- 5:24Speaker 3: Adams County Corner said the statement on Thursday, September fourth,
- 5:29Speaker 3: that Riviera's cause of death was cardiac related. That rule
- 5:34Speaker 3: was natural. Miss Reaver had known history of carrect issues
- 5:40Speaker 3: which consisted with the fightings. Is also firm that annabel
- 5:45Speaker 3: was not present in the room at the time of
- 5:48Speaker 3: this passing. So she says, but you know, hearing the stories,
- 5:57Speaker 3: she doesn't have to be present or to be seen,
- 6:02Speaker 3: as in the case of you know, the biker that
- 6:07Speaker 3: pretty much mocked her in the museum that the warrants
- 6:12Speaker 3: told him, don't do it, and he did, and he
- 6:15Speaker 3: scopped at her. And the last thing he knew before
- 6:18Speaker 3: he died was seeing her, seeing her in the river
- 6:22Speaker 3: mirror before he ended up hit a tree and died
- 6:26Speaker 3: or the infamous uh car wreck that almost cost the
- 6:34Speaker 3: life of one of the padre is one of the
- 6:39Speaker 3: fathers of the Kinetic church. Uh h he uh. He
- 6:48Speaker 3: ended up seeing Annabelle and and he sort of kind
- 6:54Speaker 3: of scoffed at it, but I didn't think nothing of it.
- 6:58Speaker 3: He ended up turned in as river mare and for
- 7:03Speaker 3: a glance he saw the doll and looked back was gone,
- 7:07Speaker 3: but by that time he had a tree. So oh no,
- 7:12Speaker 3: I mean there's something that had to be there where animals.
- 7:17Speaker 3: President may not be there, but the spirit might have
- 7:20Speaker 3: been on. On July thirteenth, report Pennsylvania detailed conditions which
- 7:30Speaker 3: were we ere fifty four was found. Members of the
- 7:35Speaker 3: PCPSBERG responded to the hotel Stratton Township, Adams County or
- 7:44Speaker 3: a report of a deceased man deceased was discovered in
- 7:49Speaker 3: the hotel room by workers. The report said nothing unusual
- 7:54Speaker 3: suspect suspicions was ever at the sea. Riviera had been
- 7:59Speaker 3: calling of that morning or been with colleagues that morning
- 8:04Speaker 3: and said he has felt sick. I was going back
- 8:07Speaker 3: to his room. Radall recently told people although wasn't clear
- 8:12Speaker 3: that whatever wherever, Era might have been sick with Tima's death.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Rivera was in tour the Giddysburg Show with the Annabel Doll,
- 8:23Speaker 3: which New England Society and Psychic Research I described as
- 8:28Speaker 3: the monically possessed upon the Society's NFL's origin dates back
- 8:34Speaker 3: in nineteen sixty eight when she was presented to a
- 8:40Speaker 3: student and a student nurse as a gift. The nurse
- 8:44Speaker 3: took the doll to her home where she lived with
- 8:48Speaker 3: the roommate. Almost immediately, the roommates know it's a stranger
- 8:51Speaker 3: Currence Doll, and they were introduced to a medium and
- 8:56Speaker 3: told him the doll was embodied by his spirit of
- 9:00Speaker 3: a young girl named Annabelle, hence the name. Psychic Research
- 9:04Speaker 3: Society said two roommates tried to accept the dull spirit
- 9:09Speaker 3: and because it's only had it Uh resisted only habit
- 9:16Speaker 3: to recouplate was just mischievously and violent instance. Husband and wife.
- 9:26Speaker 3: A team of Admiral Raine Warrenless, who found of a Society,
- 9:30Speaker 3: later removed Annabel at the home history in the last
- 9:35Speaker 3: case of class box to certain to certain the evil
- 9:40Speaker 3: spirit into me to I'm sorry to contain spirit entity
- 9:47Speaker 3: where it remains today. Annabel and the Warrants inspired the
- 9:52Speaker 3: horror film a franchise, The Conquering Harrison and Jones journalists
- 9:58Speaker 3: whoever handover Pennsylvania best based evenings. Son tended to tour
- 10:07Speaker 3: one day before Raber's death, telling people out where Riviera
- 10:13Speaker 3: definitely stuck me as kind of kind and very welcoming person,
- 10:22Speaker 3: and my heart breaks for his family and colleagues. Joining
- 10:27Speaker 3: a tour group Jones took photos at the footage of
- 10:33Speaker 3: spoke with his visitors before he took them to see
- 10:37Speaker 3: the doll history Riviera along with the others the N
- 10:43Speaker 3: s P N E s p R. I'm sorry n
- 10:48Speaker 3: E s p R as Investigators, which stands for Northern
- 10:55Speaker 3: England UH spirit Investigator Investigator or you know New England's
- 11:08Speaker 3: spiritual paranormal research investigators. Wade Kirby spoke to the group
- 11:17Speaker 3: about animal's history and their experiences working with a doll.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Jones said. Among them these discussions, mister River spoke about
- 11:28Speaker 3: how he had had built the case that Annabel was
- 11:33Speaker 3: as himself and he had designed many aspects from the
- 11:40Speaker 3: from the aspective of his faith. Jones said he didn't
- 11:46Speaker 3: speak much of the Reviera, but that the paranormal investigator
- 11:50Speaker 3: did ask me if I got if I had got
- 11:53Speaker 3: what I needed out of my visit and asked him
- 11:57Speaker 3: I had gotten good images during the tour and if
- 12:02Speaker 3: you end up looking, I just I googled this was uh,
- 12:09Speaker 3: you know, Annabel doll death and you see the picture
- 12:12Speaker 3: the last picture of Riviera. You see the Annabel doll,
- 12:18Speaker 3: you know right there and everything. You know, a lot
- 12:25Speaker 3: of people you know, while Jones was working the story,
- 12:29Speaker 3: he heard that the news of his death. It was
- 12:34Speaker 3: clear that prior controversy surround of the tour that is,
- 12:37Speaker 3: death would me on the cause intense controversy and becoming
- 12:42Speaker 3: his own part of paranormal legend. No matter what what
- 12:45Speaker 3: was said Jones told people about what about in my
- 12:52Speaker 3: own record report, I mainly considered trying to focus on
- 12:57Speaker 3: human life lost and the center of the track news.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Mister Riviera had decades, so much time and that for
- 13:06Speaker 3: sharing his love for the paranormal. But yeah, so either
- 13:14Speaker 3: chucked that for another another one for Annabelle, or maybe
- 13:20Speaker 3: you think it's just coincidence. Uh, leave that to you.
- 13:28Speaker 3: To me, I think maybe ad Al Annabelle, maybe since
- 13:33Speaker 3: he is the one that made it, got a little
- 13:39Speaker 3: seek to revenge and finally got to him. Of course
- 13:45Speaker 3: that's my opinion. I could be wrong. And the second news,
- 13:52Speaker 3: uh starting this weekend was the last last chapter in
- 13:59Speaker 3: the Conjuring universe, the last the last film, The Conjuring
- 14:08Speaker 3: Last Rites. I can't wait to see this. It's pretty
- 14:17Speaker 3: much the It's a story basically of Ed Lorraine's last
- 14:23Speaker 3: case that they end up doing. It's it was they
- 14:28Speaker 3: took on a small case family. Uh, it came to
- 14:35Speaker 3: you know, starting there, you know, basically their retirement and
- 14:44Speaker 3: you know, we you know, we love the conjurary movies. Uh,
- 14:48Speaker 3: the conjuring itself out the the house and then the
- 14:54Speaker 3: two about you know, the house in England, and U
- 15:00Speaker 3: this one. I think this one is gonna be pretty good.
- 15:04Speaker 3: It's in theaters on well, it's Peters Friday and it's
- 15:11Speaker 3: basically this small family alleged haunting occurred in West Penton,
- 15:17Speaker 3: Pennsylvania during the nineteen eighties, Although there was plenty of
- 15:22Speaker 3: skepticism over what actually played. The Snarl home and Lorraine
- 15:28Speaker 3: contributed the family's claims from the level presence at the
- 15:34Speaker 3: end of the investigation, you know, pretty much at the
- 15:43Speaker 3: center of this. The last one's called conjured, the conjuring,
- 15:48Speaker 3: the last rites. The Stor family moved into the house
- 15:52Speaker 3: after a hurricane before any alleged encounters, hoping we're the
- 15:59Speaker 3: heading for any other alleged encounters with the supernatural. The
- 16:05Speaker 3: Smorrel family most first had to contend with natural disaster.
- 16:15Speaker 3: In nineteen seventy two, the remnants of Hurricane Agnes ravaged
- 16:22Speaker 3: northern Pennsylvania eventually and downgraded to a tropical storm. The
- 16:30Speaker 3: system dump between ten and eighteen inches of rain and
- 16:34Speaker 3: a span of three days, leading to the Saskatchewan River
- 16:40Speaker 3: to press forty one feet. Multiple communities experienced the severe flooding,
- 16:49Speaker 3: leaving an estimated of two point eight million dollars in
- 16:54Speaker 3: damage before the adjustments. Before the adjustments for inflation in
- 17:03Speaker 3: nineteen seventy three, there's police to their residents their residence are.
- 17:10Speaker 3: In nineteen seventy three, the police from the residents and
- 17:14Speaker 3: well for Jack and Janet Smorrell relocated their families into
- 17:21Speaker 3: a double block home on three point thirty Chase Street
- 17:25Speaker 3: and West Pedson Snarls and their four daughters, Don, Heather, Carrion,
- 17:34Speaker 3: and Shannon lived on one side and the Jack's parents,
- 17:39Speaker 3: John and Mary occupied the other hand. Little do they
- 17:44Speaker 3: know that the new house came with its own set
- 17:48Speaker 3: of pazards. According to the film Predict and Lochewan College
- 17:55Speaker 3: professor Brian Fence, Silly quickly experienced minor unexplained instance, which
- 18:07Speaker 3: was the doors opening, closing and Foilett's fletching on their
- 18:10Speaker 3: own at their new home. But years passed and inexpendable
- 18:16Speaker 3: episodes escalated into something much much dark. By nineteen eighty six,
- 18:24Speaker 3: the family went to public with the claims of paranormal
- 18:29Speaker 3: entities and terrorized the house. Per The Times, leader Jack
- 18:35Speaker 3: had said sexually. Jack had said he was been sexually
- 18:40Speaker 3: assaulted by a demon multiple occasions, and that a spirit
- 18:45Speaker 3: had thrown one of the children down the flight of
- 18:48Speaker 3: stairs and their dog against the wall. The family claims
- 18:52Speaker 3: to hear blood curling screens and animals grounds, as also
- 18:58Speaker 3: smell horrible stenches and say the residents. Snarles listed the
- 19:04Speaker 3: help of Connecticut priests performing exorcism, but the fair worst
- 19:12Speaker 3: name a worse name was never shared publicly. Uh concluded
- 19:20Speaker 3: these three steps were unsuccessful. Not surprisingly, some resperts who
- 19:27Speaker 3: heard about the snort Distance were skeptical, called cruits. A
- 19:33Speaker 3: chairman of the Committee of the Scientific Investigation of Claims
- 19:37Speaker 3: of the Paranormal called their claims a hoax, a chrard,
- 19:43Speaker 3: or a ghost story. He even suggests a family undergo
- 19:49Speaker 3: psychatric and physiological elevate our evaluations. However, the Snarls had
- 19:59Speaker 3: two notable believers in their corner. That was Ed and
- 20:03Speaker 3: Lorraine Warner, who began investing in their house in January
- 20:08Speaker 3: nineteen eighty six. Speaking to report, Ed said Phil the
- 20:13Speaker 3: tempt to drop at least thirty degrees during the first night,
- 20:18Speaker 3: said the home saw formation of a black mass. He
- 20:23Speaker 3: also claimed the witness was a flamed to witness and
- 20:31Speaker 3: mattress jumping on its own and objects flame off the
- 20:37Speaker 3: of a burrow. Ed was convinced that in some kind
- 20:43Speaker 3: of ghost, the devil or demon or whatever you call it,
- 20:47Speaker 3: and said Snarholme. According to the Times Tribune and Lorraine
- 20:54Speaker 3: Unmanly determined the Snows were haunted by four elevenant spirits
- 21:00Speaker 3: and one viole inspector. We're dealing with an intelligence here.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It's powerful, it's intelligible and very dangerous.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Ed More.
- 21:13Speaker 3: The alleged Snorl haunting gained the national news attention and
- 21:19Speaker 3: Nathli McCain as many as ninety reporters again showing up
- 21:24Speaker 3: to their residents and on any given day, the house
- 21:29Speaker 3: being attracted as celebrity with ties to the paranormal actress
- 21:34Speaker 3: and playwright Justin Miller and native of a Sketchwann, Pennsylvania.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I'm sorry nearby Stratton, Pennsylvania. I said that wrong? Who
- 21:49Speaker 3: played the father demon? Foller Damien curt occur as in
- 21:55Speaker 3: the nineteen seventy three movie That Patient of the Exercise
- 22:00Speaker 3: This visit the Hall. Although Miller didn't fully believe in
- 22:05Speaker 3: the Charles claim of DeMont content, Bennelly writes the he
- 22:11Speaker 3: did express concern that the investation would hurt the family. Eventually,
- 22:19Speaker 3: Charles grew tired of all the intention demand and reporters
- 22:23Speaker 3: to go to their house and December nineteen eighty six, however,
- 22:27Speaker 3: the case was back on the limelight with the release
- 22:32Speaker 3: of the paperback book Written paperback book written by local
- 22:37Speaker 3: newspaper journalists Robert Kuran, titled The Haunted One Filma's Nightmare.
- 22:46Speaker 3: A few years later, nineteen o one, one book was
- 22:52Speaker 3: adapted to the TV movie starring Jeffrey Demand and Sally Kirkman
- 23:00Speaker 3: as Jack and Jance Snarrel, respectively. It was easy to
- 23:07Speaker 3: believe what happened in wes Penton, They're Haunted is the Haunted.
- 23:12Speaker 3: The Haunted is going to make it very personal for
- 23:17Speaker 3: the audience's Curtains said, for our preciation is not a
- 23:22Speaker 3: boose story. I'm not interested in a ghost stories Minster.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I'm interested in two stories that happened to women who
- 23:31Speaker 3: could be me. We'll never know. The Two Cases of
- 23:35Speaker 3: Strong Terror by Octilbert Ocilbert nineteen eighty six. The local
- 23:41Speaker 3: priests flamed that the prayers had case are local priest
- 23:49Speaker 3: flame that the prayers at case smell smells and violent demons.
- 23:55Speaker 3: From thirty three hundred and thirty kse Street nineteen eighty eight,
- 24:01Speaker 3: the stars returned the works for and a woman named
- 24:07Speaker 3: Deborah Owens moved it into the allegedly honor at home
- 24:11Speaker 3: after their departure, claimed that she experienced little supernatural occurrence.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Jack Snarl died in twenty seventeen. He just seventy five
- 24:26Speaker 3: long battle of diabetes. One's daughters Karan, became part time
- 24:32Speaker 3: paranormal investigator. We had such part time and no one
- 24:37Speaker 3: had to turn to Caran told the Times tribute after
- 24:41Speaker 3: his death. We was happy, he was happy. I had
- 24:48Speaker 3: a voice. I was a voice up there for people
- 24:53Speaker 3: who needed help. And the Lorraine Warren contained investigation Huntings
- 24:58Speaker 3: after the Snarl Case two. But it's pretty much, Uh,
- 25:06Speaker 3: of course it's Sharon, it's other movies. Uh. But you
- 25:12Speaker 3: know the same actors that played Edin, Lorraine Warren, Patrick Wilson,
- 25:17Speaker 3: Vera Farmarga. You know it's uh. I think it's gonna
- 25:24Speaker 3: be a pretty good movie. So you guys check it
- 25:26Speaker 3: out and see what you think. And that is news
- 25:32Speaker 3: and news across the nation. Now let's go into today's story.
- 25:41Speaker 3: So let's kick back and relax for doing. I'll go
- 25:47Speaker 3: put your loved one as weave into our today's story,
- 25:55Speaker 3: and it's rights out and three two one. Our story
- 26:05Speaker 3: begins the Decker Taylor House in nineteen eighty seven, when
- 26:14Speaker 3: Karen Howse, a transplanted provision architect from DC from Washington,
- 26:26Speaker 3: d C. First set foot in the Decker Tyler House
- 26:31Speaker 3: the North Bolder, she knew that she had to habit.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Despite the homes disrepair and and the look of a
- 26:46Speaker 3: disbelief in her husband's face, she knew that she long
- 26:54Speaker 3: in this house. However, every her every since told her
- 27:01Speaker 3: that it was meant to be hers and her family
- 27:06Speaker 3: had decided to restore the house to its former glory.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Since his first day, Catherine felt a strong connection to
- 27:15Speaker 3: the gothic rival farmhouse that wants a home Clinton and
- 27:22Speaker 3: Taylor and his family. She was also felt the presence
- 27:27Speaker 3: of his spirits that seemed to match to watch over her.
- 27:33Speaker 3: During Halloween week, in nineteen ninety nine, as part of
- 27:37Speaker 3: the Historic Builder's Spirit Tour, the investigator of visitors were
- 27:43Speaker 3: treated to a tour of the home led by psychic
- 27:47Speaker 3: and from the psychic horizons, A gentle breeze bustled through
- 27:54Speaker 3: the branches of the red Bud tree, the oldest the
- 27:59Speaker 3: oldest steam boulder that still arches over the walkway. The
- 28:05Speaker 3: lights in the jacqueline An flickered, making the pumpkins with
- 28:11Speaker 3: their wicked smiles, seemed to laund those who passed by
- 28:19Speaker 3: the visitors who were trees. As we learned about the spirits.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Roman House so beautifully restored by Catherine and her husband.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Built in eighteen seventy four, the decor Taylor House sat
- 28:37Speaker 3: upon eighty three acres of prime farmland bought by Clayton
- 28:42Speaker 3: Taylor from Judge J. H. Decker. Early photographs show that
- 28:49Speaker 3: the home was only structure standing around miles of around
- 28:54Speaker 3: the Northern Boulder. Architect E. H. At Dimmer, who designed
- 29:03Speaker 3: the University of Colorado's Old Maine, who designed the Telum,
- 29:09Speaker 3: which now stands out as the only historic building in
- 29:13Speaker 3: the Sea of the fifties ranch houses, as one of
- 29:17Speaker 3: Bowler's earliest pioneers. Faint Taylor was a great fores sight
- 29:31Speaker 3: for the opportunities the area had to offer. Known as
- 29:36Speaker 3: a gracious known as a generous and highly energetic man,
- 29:43Speaker 3: he was one of the city's wealthiest citizens and interest
- 29:50Speaker 3: in lifestock, agriculture, construction, sawmills, real estate, and even politics.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Time of his death, his hold was repeatedly and closed
- 30:06Speaker 3: more than thirteen thousand acres of land throughout the seven
- 30:13Speaker 3: Colorado counties, putting one thousand acres in Boulder. His financial
- 30:21Speaker 3: interests extended in what was to be the territory of
- 30:26Speaker 3: Wyoming as well. In eighteen sixty, the Taylor came to
- 30:32Speaker 3: Boulder from Wisconsin with his wife, Sarah and their firstborn child,
- 30:38Speaker 3: Lillian the Taylor and the Taylor's further and family. They
- 30:44Speaker 3: originally settled in black Heart, drawn to the area by
- 30:49Speaker 3: prominence of gold. These he ran a six stamp portsmill,
- 30:57Speaker 3: first of his kind in the state, brought by Ragrant
- 31:02Speaker 3: from his journey from Midwest, designed to large cylinders that
- 31:09Speaker 3: creshed the ore one stamp mills of it of the
- 31:13Speaker 3: time were only transportable, and Taylor's was one of those
- 31:18Speaker 3: largest in the area. He ran his own custom mill
- 31:24Speaker 3: and his income formed from the base of what he
- 31:30Speaker 3: could become a mass map of vast fortune in addition
- 31:35Speaker 3: of those million industries. Taylor also known in the area
- 31:42Speaker 3: as a patriot. During the eighteen sixty four Indian Scare
- 31:48Speaker 3: and its first he was the first man to call
- 31:51Speaker 3: the answer for volunteers to protect the citizens from Indian
- 31:57Speaker 3: raids that he was commission and by the Colorado Territorial
- 32:02Speaker 3: Governor and John Evans as a captain of the third
- 32:07Speaker 3: Colorado Cavalry called the one Hundred Days Men and the
- 32:12Speaker 3: Rough and Ready Tailored Rangers. The group provided protection formerly
- 32:18Speaker 3: supplied by the U. S Army, the soldiers away from
- 32:22Speaker 3: fighting the Civil War, ding Indians together opportunity to reclaim
- 32:28Speaker 3: their natural travel lands and uproot the miners and other settlers.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Not only did Captain Taylor ride with the Union, but
- 32:38Speaker 3: also furnish many of the houses ridden by the men.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Care is also credited with the construction of the Boulder
- 32:48Speaker 3: Canyons first coal road Lincoln Boulder to its mining communities
- 32:55Speaker 3: of the Central City and Bakhar. This is a major
- 32:59Speaker 3: under taking him. The gerographic geography generography at Geographic and
- 33:12Speaker 3: the Canyon Tolls were collected two stations and one on
- 33:20Speaker 3: one onnother end of the road. One dollar to charge
- 33:24Speaker 3: for each wagon and train, seventy five cents for carriages,
- 33:30Speaker 3: and no toll was collected of chowder around the road
- 33:35Speaker 3: to attend funeral or turch service. In eighteen seventy two,
- 33:40Speaker 3: the family settled in Bowler. Captain Taylor quickly established himself
- 33:46Speaker 3: for well represented. He has connections with the brewery winter
- 33:53Speaker 3: Night and on connections with the University of Colorado are legendary.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Local historians say that a blustery winter night in January
- 34:05Speaker 3: eighteen seventy five, worry writer approached the Taylor home. Their
- 34:12Speaker 3: honorable DH Nicklas had come home from me with the
- 34:17Speaker 3: territorial legislator and most urgent business. Several collad towns were
- 34:25Speaker 3: being considered for the establishment of the public interests of
- 34:30Speaker 3: Taylor would be considered as public interests. Taylor would be
- 34:37Speaker 3: promised to promised to individual funds of fifteen thousand dollars
- 34:45Speaker 3: an institution of higher learning. It would be would be
- 34:50Speaker 3: warded to Older Taylor pledged to support give the writer
- 34:57Speaker 3: that would be a reward, give the writer a fresh
- 35:01Speaker 3: horse and sent him on his way, and the rest
- 35:05Speaker 3: would say it's history. The main campus of his main
- 35:10Speaker 3: campus of the university was founded five months was founded
- 35:17Speaker 3: five months before Colorado was minted in the Union in
- 35:21Speaker 3: eighteen seventy six. In eighteen eighty four, tether disappointed Armsteak.
- 35:29Speaker 3: In eighteen eighty four, Tyler was appointed as a regilent
- 35:36Speaker 3: Regiment of the University of Colorado. His family, which has
- 35:40Speaker 3: grown to include five sons and three daughters, continuous ties
- 35:46Speaker 3: to the university. His daughter Ella was the first woman
- 35:51Speaker 3: to graduate from the school in eighteen eighty six. Her husband,
- 35:57Speaker 3: prominent Boulder lawyer Richard, was the school's first graduating class
- 36:03Speaker 3: in eighteen eighty two. Considering that of only six men,
- 36:09Speaker 3: Taylor's son, Bert, was also a student at the university,
- 36:13Speaker 3: tragically died of meningitis at the age of twenty one.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Captain Taylor a sight of astride his Big Bay guilding,
- 36:27Speaker 3: his familiar site and Boulder and surrounding towns. He was
- 36:32Speaker 3: frequently away for days on end until his family waited
- 36:37Speaker 3: for his safe return. In those dangerous early days in
- 36:42Speaker 3: Colorado towns, houses were often built with an Indian tunnel,
- 36:48Speaker 3: a long underground tunnel leading into the outer structure that
- 36:54Speaker 3: would allow the families to escape in the case of
- 37:01Speaker 3: event of an Indian attack. Taylor's groundhouse Grand House was
- 37:09Speaker 3: no exception. The entrance to the tunnel still located in
- 37:14Speaker 3: the cellar of the hall, but it was never been
- 37:18Speaker 3: explored by Catherine or her family whether it had hidden,
- 37:23Speaker 3: whether he had hidden his great horse off, whether he
- 37:29Speaker 3: had ridden his gray horse off to attended as many
- 37:33Speaker 3: businesses adventures, or led the Indian Wars in late eighteen hundreds.
- 37:41Speaker 3: It is though that these the house today is still
- 37:44Speaker 3: waiting for the Taylor's return. The spirit of a woman
- 37:49Speaker 3: a report as possibly his wife. It's on top of
- 37:53Speaker 3: the main staircase. She is one of the most prevalent
- 37:57Speaker 3: energies in the hall and and has often felt her
- 38:01Speaker 3: kind friendly presence, whether it's a change of air temperature occurrents.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Catherine's Catherine since is an almost a maturing feeling that
- 38:16Speaker 3: scenes at times come out of nowhere. Psychic Christa so
- 38:25Speaker 3: So Cash visited the home before the night of the
- 38:29Speaker 3: historic Older Spirit Tour to do an impression of the house.
- 38:36Speaker 3: She felt she went through the fior knowledge of the
- 38:42Speaker 3: history of what Catherine had been since then she felt
- 38:46Speaker 3: it too Then the woman in the stairs. She was
- 38:50Speaker 3: very happy that Catherine owns us all. Christa said, she's
- 38:57Speaker 3: very pleased that that Catherine is here Emily upon Immediately
- 39:02Speaker 3: upon entering the house, Christina Crista, I turned around towards
- 39:09Speaker 3: the front of the door which she said entered the
- 39:13Speaker 3: saw an apparition of a big bay horse standing back
- 39:18Speaker 3: at her through the screen. I felt every strong presence
- 39:23Speaker 3: of the big horse that seemed very loyal to its owner.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Upon hearing this, Catherine was eager for a Christa to
- 39:36Speaker 3: be historic picture of the hall. Framed and hanging on
- 39:41Speaker 3: the kitchen. There was an old photograph of the house
- 39:45Speaker 3: thoroughly depict in three of the family's horses standing outside
- 39:50Speaker 3: the near the front door. Those must be the horses
- 39:53Speaker 3: you're seeing, Catherine asked, pointing to the photograph, but Christa
- 39:58Speaker 3: pointed the other horse and photo a large base standing
- 40:04Speaker 3: there right said the others. Catherine was surprised. I had
- 40:08Speaker 3: lived in this house that photo on the wall for
- 40:12Speaker 3: twelve years, she said, and I had never seen a
- 40:15Speaker 3: horse in that photograph. Christina's visit brought more cozens to
- 40:23Speaker 3: light that Katherine had long suspected inhabited at the home.
- 40:30Speaker 4: The energies of the two girls playing in the upstairs
- 40:36Speaker 4: hallway were prevalent, to say, perhaps the spirits of the
- 40:40Speaker 4: Taylors daughters.
- 40:42Speaker 3: During the story building spirit tour, Catherine and Christina had
- 40:49Speaker 3: a young boy. Or said that the young boy appeared
- 40:55Speaker 3: pulling away from his parents and wandered up the stairs
- 41:00Speaker 3: in the middle of Betina's a discussion. But home the
- 41:05Speaker 3: boy had seen playing in the upstairs hallway. He had
- 41:10Speaker 3: actually seen the spirits, as many young children can. Bettina
- 41:16Speaker 3: also drawn to one particular room in the home, from
- 41:22Speaker 3: which several strong businesses maintain what is now an extra
- 41:29Speaker 3: upstairs bedroom, So Britina like has been used for the
- 41:34Speaker 3: healing room, or a room where sick people were in
- 41:47Speaker 3: the Taylor also or the Tyler family would have gone
- 41:51Speaker 3: to recover. In those days, children and adults were often
- 41:56Speaker 3: shared sleeping bards, seldom or people able to be relocated
- 42:03Speaker 3: to converse with a to a hospital or when they
- 42:07Speaker 3: were ill, or do they have luxury of taking medications
- 42:13Speaker 3: for a speed recovery as they might today. Therefore, some
- 42:19Speaker 3: of the homes in the area of the room were
- 42:22Speaker 3: also where people ill people could be separated from the
- 42:26Speaker 3: rest of the family to recuperate. Surprised by what Katrina
- 42:31Speaker 3: and Katrina since Catherine motioned that ever since they had
- 42:38Speaker 3: moved in, she and her husband always called out the
- 42:41Speaker 3: healing room and slept and wherever they feel ill. They
- 42:46Speaker 3: too had sensed the rooms therapeutic spirits. Britana Agristina also
- 42:54Speaker 3: felt the energies of sick young boys in the room,
- 43:00Speaker 3: well as older women that sat looking out of the
- 43:04Speaker 3: lights of the boulder through the window. Said that the
- 43:08Speaker 3: feeling of death is one to feel like a miscarriage
- 43:12Speaker 3: has also prevented a prevailed in the room. When another
- 43:17Speaker 3: psychic visits their home with Bettina, she revealed that the
- 43:23Speaker 3: presence and another spirit, upon entering what is now the
- 43:27Speaker 3: dining room, was merely pointed into the corner where a
- 43:32Speaker 3: large marms sits I filled the energy of the unhappy
- 43:38Speaker 3: African American man in that corner, I could see something
- 43:43Speaker 3: happening to do with water and able to make sense
- 43:46Speaker 3: of the feeling, he and he and Catherine I looked
- 43:52Speaker 3: at the homes original blueprints. To their surprise, blueprints shown
- 43:57Speaker 3: that there was a corner that had been once location
- 44:00Speaker 3: in the scene in the original kitchen and interesting enough
- 44:10Speaker 3: that the eighteen eighty five since his reported list, one
- 44:15Speaker 3: of the household demoster, the domestic living at the home.
- 44:23Speaker 3: In the spring of twenty thirteen was revisited Catherine an
- 44:29Speaker 3: historic home. She had asked for to come home and
- 44:34Speaker 3: come by again and bring Bettina because she felt as
- 44:39Speaker 3: though it was the energy in the house had shifted
- 44:42Speaker 3: or changed something she somewhat wanted to some insight. Immediately
- 44:49Speaker 3: upon entering, as soon as she had greeted one another,
- 44:55Speaker 3: Bettina moved to the circular stairway, looking down. I need
- 45:01Speaker 3: to go to the basement. Basement needs attention. Catherine had
- 45:07Speaker 3: set out tea in trees and then chatta for a
- 45:11Speaker 3: while first, but we could tell it Utina is anxious
- 45:16Speaker 3: to get downstairs. As we sat into the living room,
- 45:20Speaker 3: Betina noted that the spirit of Missus Taylor seemed to
- 45:24Speaker 3: be at peace, but all that still watched over the house.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Spirit was conforming and soothing. Spoke spoke through Katina with
- 45:37Speaker 3: the word support of the both me and for Catherine.
- 45:42Speaker 3: She spoke to being impressed with us, wishing that we
- 45:47Speaker 3: could have accomplished in her life as well. We had
- 45:53Speaker 3: In hours, however, bond by the word. It was then
- 45:58Speaker 3: that she can't, that she cannot. She had her as
- 46:02Speaker 3: soon as sat down, and then having spoke through Katina,
- 46:07Speaker 3: she left quickly as she appeared. We don't see her,
- 46:12Speaker 3: but we've fought her, as Catherine always passed throughout the years.
- 46:20Speaker 3: But the basement still beckoned. And down we went, visiting
- 46:25Speaker 3: the basement with the dirt walls, narrow passageways, and as
- 46:31Speaker 3: stepping back through time, little had changed down here since
- 46:37Speaker 3: the teeler time, with the expiration of storage shells, with
- 46:45Speaker 3: the exception of storage shells and heating and plumbing works
- 46:50Speaker 3: at the same installation the Indian tunnel, long since cornered
- 46:57Speaker 3: off by Catherine, seemed to call the Kritina and that
- 47:03Speaker 3: where we first met. We went first stand there in
- 47:09Speaker 3: the entrance, she felt so many memories from the fire years.
- 47:15Speaker 3: Thoughts of the visions of the past were in her
- 47:19Speaker 3: mind as she asked Catherine questions in a rapid fire
- 47:25Speaker 3: style the old time movie, like an old time movie.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Real all that the things that Kritina had said moved
- 47:35Speaker 3: seemed historical basis of the house, So Catherine uh the position.
- 47:45Speaker 3: The superstition was true. Things had indeed changed since last time.
- 47:52Speaker 3: They visited this time that the energies seemed to be
- 48:00Speaker 3: Tina and her famer to be a Flamer and warning Jilsonside.
- 48:05Speaker 3: Perhaps the most intriguing part of the story was research
- 48:10Speaker 3: that Katherine made herself was done research that may have
- 48:14Speaker 3: held the key to the strong attraction she fills to
- 48:18Speaker 3: her house. The actual geographical past that westward migration, and
- 48:27Speaker 3: both of her grandmother's families and the family of the
- 48:30Speaker 3: Clinton Taylor were very close down to the same town.
- 48:36Speaker 3: In one instance, Katherine researched her family shows that her
- 48:41Speaker 3: great I'm sorry I sold your grandmother on her father's
- 48:47Speaker 3: side was a Taylor and and supportedly a distant relative
- 48:56Speaker 3: that the tenth President of the United States, John Taylor.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Her grandmother's family came from came from New York in
- 49:05Speaker 3: New Hampshire, eventually settling in Clayton, Iowa. Being Clinton Taylor's
- 49:13Speaker 3: family traveled from the East coast to Wisconsin, where the
- 49:18Speaker 3: rest of Catherine's relatives lived and distant of the Clayton
- 49:23Speaker 3: Taylor's family. Has she come full circle and known a
- 49:28Speaker 3: home that unbelievable to her, once inhabited by her own relatives,
- 49:35Speaker 3: the mother on the stairs seemed to think so. I
- 49:40Speaker 3: think so sometimes maybe it's a premonition or to stay
- 49:54Speaker 3: in a psychic ability that you you see a house
- 49:59Speaker 3: that's some you you know, have puys about and come
- 50:03Speaker 3: to find out that you, oh, you're tight in there somehow.
- 50:08Speaker 3: Some old houses are that way me and in the
- 50:15Speaker 3: family and stuff that. I hope everyone enjoys this wonderful story,
